  All of a sudden, they charge you this ballpark, a brand new park for the New York Mets.

  The first game was played here on May the 12th.

  It was against the Milwaukee Braves that had their own ballpark down in Atlanta now moving down to play in their park.

  This park, very similar to the Atlanta ballpark, with the exception that they have some movable seats,

  36 centered on both the left and right field side that fill in the ball playing area,

  and the distances from the foul line to the stands, about the same as J Stadium.

  There's a lot of similarity between J Stadium and this new ballpark,

  for the exception they have a completely circular field with seats out in center field all the way around.

  Cardinals won their first game here. They played a 4-3 game against Atlanta and won it in 12 innings.

  On that day, they had the largest crowd ever to see the Cardinals play here in St. Louis.

  Bush Memorial Stadium holds 49,275 people.

  The dimensions are 330 down the left field line, 414 and 1 half in center field, 330 feet down the right field line.

  In talking to Ken Goyer about the infield, he said it was in fine shape,

  and this is unusual for a brand new ballpark.

  The grass is taking hold and has quite a bit of cover all the way around.

  Well the conditions of the playing field are in perfect shape,

  considering the fact that this ballpark is so new that the paint hasn't even dried yet.

  All in all, the consensus is that this ballpark is certainly one of the best of the new ones,

  and it compares very favorably with Chase Stadium and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
