Transcript
- 0:00Hi everybody. Welcome to another brand new
- 0:02episode of Did That Age. Well, this is the Duntana
- 0:07wedding edition with my little favorite Penguins right here.
- 0:12Laura and Annie, my All Stars, welcome back to the pod.
- 0:15Oh my God, thank you. I'm thrilled to be here.
- 0:17Yeah, so excited to be. Here and I do ladies we were we
- 0:22were just talking off Mike and now we're going to bring it back
- 0:24on Mike. Laura has a very special story
- 0:28to tell us about someone that she is threatened and and I'd
- 0:30like to know more. I fear I've built this up too
- 0:33much, but. We'll we'll cut it if it's.
- 0:35Bad, cut it if it's bad. My building downtown, As we all
- 0:40know the central business district is a dying entity.
- 0:43It is yes. And my building was bought
- 0:47probably like 3 years ago and I think that person thought it
- 0:50might be a profitable endeavor to buy a building downtown.
- 0:54They also seem like to have an ayahuasca presence online so
- 0:58they may have been high but they evicted all the tenants except
- 1:04for us because we have a government contract with the
- 1:07thought that they could make it a like residential building.
- 1:13Now who in who in their right mind would live in this
- 1:16location? Unclear to me this.
- 1:18Is the building downtown? Yes, then they did apparently.
- 1:21No due diligence. Didn't realize that it's can't
- 1:24be zoned for residential. Something like that.
- 1:26So now we are essentially the sole tenant in this like 20
- 1:30story building, which is kind of haunted.
- 1:32That's so yeah, haunting. Yeah, It's it's.
- 1:35Very, very. Haunted and the wheels are
- 1:37falling off. Wow, the building.
- 1:40Is there toilet paper? Barely, barely, barely.
- 1:43Is there cleaning people that come into your one?
- 1:45Suite also barely a Roach fell from the ceiling last week.
- 1:49No, yes. No.
- 1:51So one thing that has been the bane of my existence is like
- 1:55doors never work. So after hours when you exit the
- 2:00building, you cannot go out the door That's for the after hours
- 2:04exit. You have to exit through this
- 2:05like an alley that is highly unsafe, especially when it's
- 2:10dark, right. And there's my main concern is
- 2:13really rats. Oh yeah, she's got trauma,
- 2:17always. Top of my has trauma.
- 2:18So there's this blessed cutie little security guard and he
- 2:23caught me the other night like a week ago when I was just in a
- 2:28like unbridled rage about our building.
- 2:31And he was like, this door is not working.
- 2:32And I was like, OK, you know what?
- 2:35I'll go ahead and throw a fucking brick through it and
- 2:37that will solve the problem. Go ahead and tell the management
- 2:39company that. And then I thought to myself,
- 2:43that was too much. But I, I didn't, I didn't want
- 2:47to back down. So I just like left.
- 2:49And so I saw him tonight and I went up and I was like, hi, I
- 2:55just wanted to apologize about my behavior last week regarding
- 2:59the door. And he was like, was it with me?
- 3:04And I was like, I mean this Sir, you're like the Doogie Howser of
- 3:08security guards. You have like 3 very large
- 3:10diamond studs. I don't think I've mistaken you
- 3:13for like the man who also sits here who's like on death's door.
- 3:18And I was like, yeah. And then so I kind of like had
- 3:21to retell the story of how I like you're like.
- 3:23So then I said this to you. And then he was like, oh, yeah,
- 3:28that was me. I was like, so sorry.
- 3:33And he was like, yeah. And I was like.
- 3:37OK, and if you, listener, are getting evicted from your office
- 3:41building and you need to move your things out of your office,
- 3:45hire Spider Moving Company, sponsor of this episode because
- 3:49they do not just residential but also commercial moves.
- 3:53And so I wish I would have caught your, you know, your
- 3:56fellow office mates for this. So we could have told them about
- 4:01Spider moving and storage. But I guess I guess we can't
- 4:05now. It's just for you listener and
- 4:07your friends. You guys read the word.
- 4:09And thanks Spider for sponsoring this podcast.
- 4:11Thank you. Yeah.
- 4:12Thank you. Well, Laura, I'm glad that you
- 4:15owned it, as they say in The Real Housewives.
- 4:17Own it. Own it, own it, own it.
- 4:20Yeah, Meredith Marx would never. Meredith Marx would never girl
- 4:24Annie. I can't believe that you're not
- 4:26catching up on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
- 4:28I know I'm not caught up because I've been watching The Secret
- 4:31Lives of Mormon Wives. Oh, of course.
- 4:33Oh yeah. I've been to that in like 48
- 4:35hours, yeah. Well, I'm now I'm learning that
- 4:38I struggle with attention at times.
- 4:40And so she does. Yeah, that's why a lot of
- 4:43things. But the with the show like I, I
- 4:46struggle to keep up with TV sometimes.
- 4:49Sorry, but the good thing about Secret wives of Mormon secret
- 4:52lives of Mormon wives, which is you don't need to pay attention.
- 4:58It's definitely like a headphones on and walk around
- 5:01kind of show. Like I don't necessarily have to
- 5:03be watching it, but I also are you watching?
- 5:06On like a personal. Device just watching on her
- 5:10iPad. No, I'm watching on my phone.
- 5:13You watch it on your. Phone.
- 5:13I thought you were watching TV on my phone.
- 5:15I thought you were watching on your eye.
- 5:16You're. Gonna lose your vision at least.
- 5:17How am I gonna lose my vision because.
- 5:19You're looking at, Yeah. You shouldn't see me.
- 5:21Literally that's how I watch everything.
- 5:23I'm just like gonna have like carpal tunnel or something.
- 5:25Well. I don't actually.
- 5:27Have a tennis elbow? Yeah.
- 5:29I'm not actually holding it though I usually perch it on
- 5:32something. Annie, you have television.
- 5:35You have a couch with. I know I have a TV.
- 5:38I have a couple TV's and I could even use my computer.
- 5:43Yeah, and you don't? If you're a boomer, you could
- 5:46use an iPad. Exactly, I could use my see.
- 5:48I really thought that you were watching on your iPad this whole
- 5:50time. You thought I was watching on
- 5:51iPad the whole time? Yeah, because it's, it's like, I
- 5:54mean, sometimes when I'm like drying my hair or something like
- 5:57that, I'll yeah, throw my phone up.
- 5:59Yeah, but like as a general? Matter.
- 6:01I think that it's because it's the it's like the fastest thing,
- 6:05like it's right there. If it catches my attention, I
- 6:07need to be like, boom, like, OK, I want to watch it right now.
- 6:10But I do think that that show is like top tier reality.
- 6:15Like maybe it's just for me personally, like, yeah, those
- 6:18girls really put it all out there.
- 6:20Like, yeah, yeah. Like they really are so thirsty
- 6:23for that fame that they're just like being, like way over.
- 6:26Like sometimes I'm like, we shouldn't maybe be putting that
- 6:28out there. Yeah, I saw this.
- 6:30I saw this meme yesterday. Sorry don't know who to credit
- 6:33to but someone was like the stuff that the secret lives of
- 6:36Mormon wives share. Like you couldn't get me to
- 6:40share it if I had a gun to my head.
- 6:41That's what I'm saying. They freely share.
- 6:44It they all do it, I just feel like too like.
- 6:46But the interesting thing about that show that I love is that
- 6:50the women, that the men on the show are trying to manage their
- 6:54image more than the women. Yeah.
- 6:56And they have no idea how badly they're coming off.
- 6:59Oh my. God, they're the most vile.
- 7:02They are the most vile men on television.
- 7:05They are. They all seem to be.
- 7:06That man Dakota, yeah, fills me with.
- 7:09My God. Talk about unbridled rage.
- 7:11Yeah, I feel like. Have we seen that relationship a
- 7:15million times before? Girl, that's what I was just
- 7:17for. Some of us that have been in
- 7:19that. In that how many?
- 7:21Yeah. How in the community, how many
- 7:22have? Been in a relationship like
- 7:24that? Yeah.
- 7:25Yeah. Truly right.
- 7:27But yeah, bless him. Yeah, bless him.
- 7:30And I can't wait to see Taylor on The Bachelorette.
- 7:33Oh my God. Well, a friend of ours saw her
- 7:36in person recently. Chloe.
- 7:40Shot her. Yeah, friend of.
- 7:42The pod she I don't think she was filming, but she was with a
- 7:46oh person walking around. Oh, she's the.
- 7:49Person I can say it for Bachelorette.
- 7:51I don't know, maybe I do. I have a photo.
- 7:55I mean make sure off the pot. Off the record, I'll show you
- 7:59the photo. I'll have to find it.
- 8:00Yeah, Oh my God, Off the record, how exciting.
- 8:03Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have put that on.
- 8:05You know what? I don't think anyone that's the
- 8:07goal. Of The Bachelorette, that's what
- 8:08we all want for her. Yeah, you know, I can't wait.
- 8:10I'll I'll join Bachelor Nation for that.
- 8:13Yeah, like I may watch I. Haven't watched bachelor since
- 8:15like high school. Yeah, I think it might be time
- 8:17to revisit just for that season, Yeah.
- 8:20So gals, we are here to talk about weddings.
- 8:25We're here to talk about wedding crashers.
- 8:27And what a perfect opportunity here in our little tuxedo
- 8:32T-shirts for me to ask you, what is your history with Wedding
- 8:36crashers? Also, have you ever crashed a
- 8:37wedding? Well, Speaking of high school.
- 8:41Speaking of Maryland, there's Baltimore.
- 8:42So there's so many lines in this movie.
- 8:46Some I knew were from this movie that are part of my, still part
- 8:49of my lexicon. Yeah.
- 8:51Like, Hooters, because I'll find you.
- 8:53Yeah. But there's other things that
- 8:55I'm like, oh, my God. Like, I have specific memories
- 8:57of my high school friends being like, shut your mouth and you're
- 8:59talking to me. Yeah.
- 9:01What a time. I mean, I'm, I'm from Maryland,
- 9:04so like. I thought about Houston.
- 9:06Football. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:07I was like. She's gonna be so excited.
- 9:09But there's oh ma, the meatloaf. Like there's so many lines that
- 9:13just were also like, is that still part of people's
- 9:17personality? Are we in such a turnover
- 9:18universe that like there's a new line every day, But like.
- 9:22No, I think it prevails. Me at that time, like when a
- 9:25movie like that came out, your whole vocabulary came from like
- 9:30Will Ferrell. Movies.
- 9:32Yeah, well, now it's like with TikTok, like sounds go viral
- 9:35every day. Yeah.
- 9:36And so like. I think there's more turnover.
- 9:39Yeah, but back, you know, those phrases, they really, yeah,
- 9:42stuck with us. I mean, I've been, I've been
- 9:45dying to bring back Unkajams for years.
- 9:49You could try. I could try, but it's like,
- 9:52don't try to make unkajams happen.
- 9:55That's what I'm afraid people will say.
- 9:57Yeah. Annie, what about you?
- 9:59My experience with this movie well I definitely didn't see it
- 10:02when it came out because in 2005 I was still very much like and
- 10:06then like my my parents would never watch this movie yeah so I
- 10:10didn't watch it till I was older it's.
- 10:11Not part of your Mormon. It wasn't really part of my
- 10:13Mormon secret life. Actually, I think that I
- 10:17probably watched this and that was part of my secret life.
- 10:20Yeah. But I, I it's a movie that
- 10:24Armando loves, which doesn't really shock.
- 10:27But then we watched it together, like this time of rally.
- 10:29It had been a long time. I watched it.
- 10:31I watched it twice. Of course she did.
- 10:32She does her homework. And then I actually was like, I
- 10:34should probably watch it again today.
- 10:36Did you? No, I was like, I couldn't be
- 10:38bothered. Put it on your phone.
- 10:39I could, I just put it, except I don't have Armando's Prime
- 10:42account on my phone and that's what I needed 'cause I'm like, I
- 10:45can only watch certain things because I have certain
- 10:48streaming. It's on passwords.
- 10:49It's on HBO Max now. It's on HBO.
- 10:52Yeah, as of like, I don't know when, but I mean I have.
- 10:55To track down that password as well and then put in my phone.
- 10:59So right now I'm pretty limited to Disney Plus and Peacock.
- 11:05Peacock. OK, But he yeah.
- 11:09So we we watched it and there were same thing with the phrases
- 11:12like I remember like being in school and being like hearing
- 11:17those kind of those things you were saying and knowing that
- 11:20that was from a movie I couldn't watch.
- 11:22Oh. So I did a little bit of inner
- 11:24child killing. Did you have a lot of that
- 11:26growing up? Oh yeah.
- 11:28Oh yeah. I mean like, wow, yeah.
- 11:31I mean when I not this I had left out of but more just like
- 11:37references that like I remember when the Waterboy came out in
- 11:40like Titanic and all those movies when I was like 3rd, 4th,
- 11:445th grade and people talking about them and being like I can
- 11:47never watch a movie like that. Wow, I saw Titanic with my
- 11:50parents and still remember the shock of that sex scene coming
- 11:53on the movie. Sorry with them next to me in
- 11:55the theater. That's really that was like a
- 11:57real core memory. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:59Oh, I'm so sorry. But yeah, I love, I loved this
- 12:02movie. I don't know if I loved it as
- 12:05much on the rewatch. Yeah, yeah, it.
- 12:09It wasn't as funny. No.
- 12:11I didn't think it was, really. Maybe twice.
- 12:13Yeah. Like genuine laugh.
- 12:15What did you laugh at? I laughed at, but what is it,
- 12:19Big tree fall hard or something like that?
- 12:21I laughed at big tree fall hard. And I laughed at, I laughed at
- 12:28Will Ferrell's cameo at the very beginning when he's like, oh,
- 12:33you should have said who you were.
- 12:36Yeah, with the numb chucks. When he's like, I was gonna numb
- 12:38Chuck you. I gave a little giggle.
- 12:40Yeah, that was. It I thought I was gonna ello.
- 12:42Well I watched old school not that long ago and old school
- 12:47still made me like lol. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:49Oh my. God.
- 12:50So I have the same I know I. Know well you'll have to you'll
- 12:55have to watch it and then listen to the episode of the did that
- 12:58each one yeah with. So I had the same expectation of
- 13:01of lols, Yeah. And.
- 13:03I did. I had a high expectation too.
- 13:04You know what I wish? I really lulled.
- 13:07I wish that they would have had Luke and Owen Wilson cast as the
- 13:10brothers. That would have been really.
- 13:11Funny. Wouldn't that be funny?
- 13:13I like the older guy. Yeah, I actually call.
- 13:15I call him the older guy. Luis, Brooklyn.
- 13:18The older one. The older brother.
- 13:20Is he older? I think so.
- 13:22Anyway, that would have been good.
- 13:23They should have. They needed Hollywood.
- 13:25Listen, you should be listening to Molly.
- 13:27Yeah, you should have. She has good ideas.
- 13:28I liked. Vince Vaughn, what I actually
- 13:32did too. You did.
- 13:33I liked him, but Owen Wilson made me crazier in the made.
- 13:38Annoyed me more. No way.
- 13:40I I don't know, I found myself like a little bit attracted to
- 13:45what's his name? Yeah.
- 13:48As between the two of them if I'm honest.
- 13:50Yeah, like, like, for like a moment it was like quick thought
- 13:52through my head and then it went out like I was like, is he hot?
- 13:55Was he hot? My first thought was damn this
- 13:57was so long ago. He was.
- 13:59Hot. Like I was like damn.
- 14:01Because then I also watched Nona's like right after that,
- 14:03which is a new Vince Vaughn movie that just came out this
- 14:07year and he is getting older. Has he had a Turkish hair thing?
- 14:12Probably. I thought it was kind of a cute
- 14:14movie, OK, But I was like, wow, like you really flip-flopped.
- 14:17But you know, get that check. Wow, hopefully.
- 14:21I think that's crazy what both of you are saying and just and I
- 14:25can't argue it. Do you?
- 14:30Would you rather Owen Wilson? Yes.
- 14:32You would rather Owen Wilson. I would rather or or Bradley
- 14:35Cooper. Oh my God, that.
- 14:38That I I this is pretty he came off this.
- 14:41Is pretty Bradley glove? This.
- 14:43One, but I was like, so how old was he?
- 14:45Like 20. But he was just a little twerp.
- 14:48Yeah, he was so little. One of the funniest things in
- 14:50the movie for me was the outfits that they put Bradley Cooper and
- 14:54were actually so. True, they were very funny, his
- 14:57performance, honestly. Actually, he's some of the.
- 14:59Funniest movies, yeah. Yeah, I think that he gave his
- 15:02performance like. The way that him and his friends
- 15:04would talk, like I was like, that's exactly how I would to
- 15:07talk. Yeah, yeah.
- 15:08To each other. Totally, like he was wearing
- 15:10this outfit at the at the second wedding and that just made me
- 15:15like lol when he stood up at the second wedding.
- 15:17Yeah, but also, I don't think I've ever crashed a wedding.
- 15:22Oh yeah, I forgot that I asked that question.
- 15:23Have you ever crashed a wedding, Annie?
- 15:26No, I don't think so. I don't think.
- 15:29I have either the the thing that I've heard of, and it's always
- 15:31men who do this bring a woman as a date when they don't have a
- 15:35date and that becomes like the the.
- 15:38Wedding Crasher. Yeah.
- 15:40People talk about that for years.
- 15:42Oh my God, yeah. Really.
- 15:43Yeah. If if someone did that at my
- 15:45wedding, I would tell everybody. People are so plenched about
- 15:49wedding etiquette that I can't imagine that these men got I I
- 15:52was in too much of A place of like this would never happen
- 15:55with too much of the movie and I wish I wasn't especially.
- 15:57Like, I know that they were trying to, they were trying to
- 16:01work with this DC setting. And they're like, oh, yeah,
- 16:05they're like important DC people.
- 16:06He's like the US Treasury Secretary or whatever.
- 16:09I'm like DC people do background checks on everybody like.
- 16:14Yeah, that. Everybody.
- 16:15They would never let these people into their summer home
- 16:19without knowing everything about.
- 16:20Them one thing that really bothered me that was like a
- 16:23small point is and I had forgotten they were divorced
- 16:26mediators. Right.
- 16:28Is that what they did? They were.
- 16:30That was like the opening scene, yeah.
- 16:32Well, yeah, I was wondering what they were doing.
- 16:36The other third day job, they're full time.
- 16:37They shut your mouth and you're talking to me, Yeah.
- 16:40Like, why are they there? Like are they the lawyers and
- 16:44they, who are they representing? They're mediators.
- 16:46They were the mediators, OK, I thought.
- 16:48But many mediators are lawyers, so yeah, I don't know.
- 16:51OK, so they're still lawyers? They, from the visuals of the
- 16:56they're mediators, maybe attorneys.
- 16:58They seemingly have this at least.
- 17:01Oh, Wilson had this pretty nice condo in what looked like
- 17:04Georgetown. Maybe like and then large?
- 17:07All of a sudden he over like 2 days with a woman he like,
- 17:11suffers this heartbreak that causes him to not work for
- 17:16months and months and months and months.
- 17:18Yeah, it was wild. And I was like what?
- 17:20Who's paying the bills, babe? Like, I mean, he's getting
- 17:23severance, he's getting he's FMLA, he's heartbroken, but they
- 17:26all they run this. Business together?
- 17:28Like what? Love it.
- 17:35Yeah, same. Yeah, that really didn't add up.
- 17:38You know what though? Okay, I remember watching this
- 17:42maybe 10 years ago, but then watching it twice recently, I
- 17:45was like, I, I love the sun. That's like the black sheep.
- 17:50He's a homo. Oh yeah, that was that.
- 17:52That line actually did make me, even though it was.
- 17:55Yeah. Did not age well, of course.
- 17:56Did make me the son. That's like, also, can I say
- 17:59black sheep? Is that?
- 18:00Yeah, I don't. Think you say it's it's about
- 18:02sheep and not. It's about sheep.
- 18:04People so OK, yeah, yeah. Cut all that.
- 18:07Sorry. Well, that son was like, I was
- 18:12like, I ride for him. Like, I love that guy.
- 18:15Yeah, the the, the painting of Vince Vaughn, that was something
- 18:20that was still, that was still very.
- 18:22Oh my God. Well, I.
- 18:23Did Adam or Eve? No, I guess he was supposed to
- 18:26be Eve, right? With the apple.
- 18:29Maybe yeah, I just I kind of I think I like not resonated with
- 18:33him, but I I felt like more empathy towards him watching the
- 18:36closet. Gay.
- 18:37Son. Yeah, I think.
- 18:39That you. But Annie is always rooting for
- 18:40an underdog. She really asides with the
- 18:43underdog. Well, I just see him as being
- 18:45different from his family a little bit, you know, and just
- 18:48not being taken seriously. And, you know, art is important.
- 18:51And art is important and you're so brave to say that.
- 18:57That's me, that's you. I saw this movie a long time ago
- 19:02and thought it was kind of stupid and felt similarly.
- 19:05This time I I too remember the quotability, people saying shut
- 19:11your mouth and you're talking to me, et cetera.
- 19:15I've always thought that the idea of crashing a wedding
- 19:17sounded really fun. The montage of them crashing
- 19:21weddings is probably the best part of them.
- 19:24Just like going to weddings, It's like, Oh yeah, sometimes
- 19:27weddings are really fun, yeah. Oh yeah, I've been to some fun
- 19:31weddings. Fun weddings I.
- 19:32Bet we'd be good at crushy weddings.
- 19:35Now we have these T-shirts. We should.
- 19:36Yeah. Look at us.
- 19:37Yeah, I feel like it's probably, you could like probably easily
- 19:41crash a wedding if you just don't sit down.
- 19:44Exactly. I mean.
- 19:45That's how you do it. You guys have don't get him.
- 19:46Plate. I have been in like 15 weddings.
- 19:49I yeah, I could get up and give a fucking maid of honor speech.
- 19:52Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:53And they would be like, thank you.
- 19:54I mean, they certainly didn't make any attempt to blend in in
- 19:57the weddings. They crashed.
- 19:58No, they, they said, draw attention to yourself in the
- 20:01good way, not in the bad way. Which didn't feel like it was a
- 20:04good way, but. Yeah, I agree.
- 20:08But yeah, I always thought like, man, crashing a wedding would be
- 20:11fun, but it's actually just that, like being at weddings can
- 20:14be fun. Oh yeah, yeah, they're fun.
- 20:16Sometimes, a lot of the time. I mean, I've been to some really
- 20:22long weddings. Yeah.
- 20:24Like a church service wedding. My my.
- 20:27They're long. Yeah.
- 20:29Is this pet peeve at a wedding? Do tell is when there's a long
- 20:33delay between the ceremony and the reception.
- 20:37Oh my gosh. You think that?
- 20:38You think cocktail hour is too long?
- 20:40No. No, like, have you ever been to
- 20:42a wedding, you know how like, especially a Catholic wedding or
- 20:45something like that? They'll have.
- 20:46And the church is like, well, we can only do the service between
- 20:49like 2 and three. Yeah.
- 20:50And then they're like, cocktail hour starts at 5.
- 20:53And so then you and it's like, go watch your hotel thumb up my
- 20:55ass for two hours. Seriously, reapply my makeup.
- 20:58And that's when people get, like, blotto, yeah, because then
- 21:02they've not been given food. They have to go to the bar down
- 21:06the street. Right, So what else is that
- 21:09gonna do? Yeah, and you've lost some
- 21:10momentum. Yeah, you gotta keep the
- 21:12momentum. You should be a wedding planner.
- 21:15You know. You are.
- 21:16You could do that. Oh, you could do that for sure.
- 21:19Be an amazing event planner. You know what I always thought
- 21:21would be a way to, like, print money is to buy a barn in some,
- 21:25like, mediocre Colorado towns. Absolutely.
- 21:28That's like a beautiful setting, but like, no one would cares
- 21:31about. Yeah, so but this whole land is
- 21:33cheap. You buy a venue and then you
- 21:35just charge people like $20,000 just to like rent this like
- 21:39shitty barn that you bought. And say bring your own stuff.
- 21:42Yeah, and they'll do it. They will.
- 21:44Yeah, yeah. If any woman's been there.
- 21:47Sharks. So let's talk a little bit about
- 21:54the background. So David Dobkin directed it.
- 21:56It was written by Steve Faber and Bob Fischer.
- 22:00This guy named Andrew Penne was a Co producer.
- 22:04He came up with the idea because when he was younger, in his 20s,
- 22:08he was excited to attend weddings so that he could sleep
- 22:11with women. That's what he admitted to on
- 22:14the record. And he said that in the oral
- 22:16history of this movie, I read the oral history and it is just
- 22:19as bad as you would think. And so he brought it to Bob
- 22:24Fischer and Steve Faber. And Bob Fischer drew on some of
- 22:28his own experience crashing lobbyist dinners when he was
- 22:32living and working in DC and how he would like make up these back
- 22:35stories about himself and was like, OK, let's just kind of go
- 22:39with that. But also one thing that what was
- 22:42a little bit odd to me as well is that both of the writers said
- 22:46that they had dreams of marrying a girl from the Kennedy family,
- 22:50which is why they built the female love interests around a
- 22:52political family. 2 writers, both with the same weird Kennedy
- 22:57fantasy. A little odd.
- 22:59That is a little weird I. Don't like that?
- 23:02Something about it. Something about it just.
- 23:05What is stuff that like the Kennedy King I?
- 23:07Know America. I know.
- 23:09That's weird. They're weird.
- 23:10Yeah, weird. Dobkin also the director, when
- 23:15he was when he was getting ready to promote this movie, the
- 23:20marketing at the studio was like, hey, you guys, we're a
- 23:23little bit worried about how we're gonna market this movie
- 23:25because we think people will see these guys misogynist and like,
- 23:29how are we gonna sell that? And he was like, Oh, no, it's
- 23:32not misogynist. We are.
- 23:36He's like, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 23:38Let me explain to you what misogyny is, He said no.
- 23:42This is Imagine you're the marketing woman.
- 23:45Oh my God, you say. OK, all right, then go ahead and
- 23:48explain to me what it is, he said.
- 23:50These men, they they seduce you. That is what we want them to do
- 23:55to the audience as well. This movie seduces you.
- 23:58I was, well, we were kind of seduced.
- 24:02I was just gonna say I was not seduced and then I was like.
- 24:05I did have a quick flying thought through my brain that he
- 24:08was hot, so I was slightly seduced.
- 24:10I was mostly like, these people are so fucking annoying.
- 24:13Like there was this, this dialogue is so of this time.
- 24:18Yeah, I kept thinking like I was like, this is what it was very
- 24:21their. Their manter back and forth.
- 24:23Oh my God, yeah. And sometimes it really works.
- 24:26And I guess for me, when I first watched it, it worked, but at
- 24:30this time I was mostly like, OK, it's not how people type it in
- 24:33that anymore. I mean, I did.
- 24:35I did laugh. Probably one of the times I
- 24:37laughed was when Owen Wilson said Hooters.
- 24:39Like, just like that. Cracked me the fuck up like
- 24:42that. Really.
- 24:43When? Did he say?
- 24:44When he's coming down the stairs and he's like, says to Vince.
- 24:47One he's like, though the mom just showed me her Hooters.
- 24:52That cracked me. I was like, I'm going to start
- 24:54bringing back the Hooters. I like that a lot actually.
- 24:57Yeah, I kind of want to bring back.
- 24:58Hooters. Yeah, yeah.
- 24:59Try to. Did this film popularize
- 25:01Motorboat? Yeah.
- 25:02I think it really that's. What did?
- 25:05Yes. I didn't realize that was from
- 25:06this film but. That was part of it existed
- 25:09before, but I think it really hit the mainstream.
- 25:11It became like part of what we said.
- 25:13Yeah, and Motorboat lives on. Yeah, Motorboat, it really does.
- 25:17Yeah, yeah. At least in my life.
- 25:19Oh, good for you, Greg. Shout out.
- 25:21For some of. US.
- 25:26But yeah, it was a huge commercial success.
- 25:28It was like the highest grossing film of that year.
- 25:31Wow. It is credited as reviving the R
- 25:35rated comedy. I did the in the small amount of
- 25:39research I did, I saw that marketing, the same bitch who
- 25:43cared about misogyny was like, we should try and make it PG13.
- 25:49And he was like, no, no, we can, like, get away with.
- 25:51It's going to be bad, which I agree, yeah.
- 25:55I saw the uncut version. Wow.
- 25:58Uncut version naughty. I saw the UN.
- 26:01Yeah, I'm trying to think what was uncut.
- 26:04I think if there was just boobs more, maybe a little bit more
- 26:07boobs. When they threw the ladies down
- 26:09on the bed, which is an iconic scene, was that was that raw
- 26:12dog? Was there bras or just?
- 26:14That was titties. Yeah, that was titties.
- 26:16Yeah, there was boobs everywhere.
- 26:19In the version I saw, I think it was.
- 26:21No, it was, I think it was boobs.
- 26:23OK, yeah, I I wrote. I know, I know.
- 26:26In my version was because I wrote down titties so I think
- 26:30that was OK. Yeah, well, that's when I had to
- 26:32turn it off because I was watching it with the kids.
- 26:36She was not watching it on her phone.
- 26:38I no, I turned it on the TV. Yeah, no, that's why it's not on
- 26:41my phone, because I don't have Prime, so I have to watch it on
- 26:43the TV. Yeah.
- 26:45But then I as soon as that that I was like, like trying to turn
- 26:48it off because I was like, OK, this pauses.
- 26:50Like mid to I was. Like, I can't be my nails.
- 26:53I can't bring this out. But then I was like, OK, this
- 26:55is, I probably should have turned it off sooner.
- 26:58But you know, they're not really watching.
- 26:59They can't really sit still in that way.
- 27:01So they're just kind of popping around.
- 27:02But anyway, that's when I turned it off.
- 27:04You said uh oh, we gotta. So we have to crawl.
- 27:06I have to draw the line somewhere.
- 27:08And we draw the line at titties. Yeah, Yeah, I don't know.
- 27:13I think that saying that this movie revived the R rated comedy
- 27:18is maybe a bit of a stretch, but it really did transition us from
- 27:24like the era of ROM coms to the era of bromantic comedies.
- 27:32Like we went from like, the late 90s and early 2000s, like really
- 27:38female centered movies to like, the women characters in these
- 27:44movies simply act as like placeholders to either be like,
- 27:48sexual objects, sexual conquests and to move the plot forward so
- 27:52that these men can become closer with each other.
- 27:54Yeah. I agree but also Rachel McAdams
- 27:58is the best actor in this movie. Rachel McAdams and Bradley
- 28:02Cooper both I think, well, Rachel McAdams was probably the
- 28:07best. Bradley Cooper was still like,
- 28:08in a hyperbolic place. Like he's not was not like
- 28:11serious. It.
- 28:13Was one of his like first major roles, like he had been acting
- 28:17before that, but this was kind of a.
- 28:19This was the guy that he like, this was, he was like very much
- 28:22a character actor and like doing stuff like this I think until
- 28:25Silver Linings. He was doing silly little bits.
- 28:28Yeah, like like a fuck boy character actor.
- 28:32Yeah, but was it Rachel McAdams was also like, this was at like
- 28:35her height of like Mean Girls and The Notebook and all that
- 28:38too. I mean like a big time for her.
- 28:40OK, can I say saw some parallels here between wedding crashers in
- 28:46the Notebook. For instance, Rachel McAdams
- 28:49making out with guys who she's not engaged to on the beach.
- 28:54Oh yeah, yeah. Men.
- 28:56Riding biking when I saw them on the bikes I said this is very
- 29:00notebook. Also do you ever like get in
- 29:03like bike crashes with your as like a flirt?
- 29:06That was a weird that was. Flirt.
- 29:08That was a very weird. Like let me just ram you with a
- 29:10bike. Yeah, he said.
- 29:15If I can't RAM you or RAM you with a bite.
- 29:18Yeah, I mean, he really fell in love with that woman very
- 29:20quickly and then obsessed. Over her.
- 29:23OK, yeah, here's another. And then tried to steal her from
- 29:26another man. Here's the piece of beef I have
- 29:29is that we're supposed to see, of course, Bradley Cooper's
- 29:31character as the enemy. And yes, he is.
- 29:33He's he's a piece of shit. What's his name?
- 29:36Chad. Shaq or Saq?
- 29:39His name is Saq because his full name is Sackler.
- 29:42Which was really fun. Actually.
- 29:43That is news to me. I didn't know that.
- 29:45I didn't know he had a name. Yeah.
- 29:47OK he did have a name and that name was Sack.
- 29:51Huge shout out to sponsor of dude IDK spider moving and
- 29:54storage. I recently used them to move
- 29:57into my new place and couldn't be happier with how efficient
- 30:01they were. They were so kind, they made it
- 30:03look so easy and it was just top notch experience.
- 30:06So definitely recommend that you check them out if you've got a
- 30:10move coming up. Residential, commercial, local,
- 30:13cross country, anything in between.
- 30:15You can get a free quote at spidermoving.com.
- 30:18And you can give him a follow on social media at Spider Moving
- 30:21and Storage. So.
- 30:25So Bradley Cooper ball sack was like, just an annoying guy,
- 30:30right? He was a bad guy.
- 30:31Yeah. But if I were to tell you, OK,
- 30:34ladies, so I met this man who lied to me about his identity.
- 30:39He fell in love with me. And he's been writing me
- 30:43letters, he's been sending me gifts, he's been calling me.
- 30:48He's been like contacting over and over again.
- 30:51And I haven't responded. And then he showed up uninvited
- 30:59to my engagement party because I didn't respond to him.
- 31:04You guys would say. SOS Yeah, we would call.
- 31:07This is, this is a dangerous situation.
- 31:10You'd say this man is dangerous. You wouldn't say, Oh my God.
- 31:14Yeah. So this is dangerous.
- 31:15Romantic, you would say. Get you would say.
- 31:20We need to call. We need to call somebody.
- 31:22Someone. Yeah.
- 31:22I also think it's interesting that they made it seem like Owen
- 31:26Wilson was wronged by Bradley Cooper, right when like he is
- 31:32this is his like long time girlfriend, then fiance and Owen
- 31:38Wilson I didn't like I didn't remember until I watched a
- 31:41movie. Oh, he's known her four hours
- 31:44and he's like pie. Which also the wedding day
- 31:48they're at the Washington National Cathedral.
- 31:50Then they're on the water. They have like full dancing
- 31:53dinner or whatever. And then they're like, let's go
- 31:56back to the house, play football, have another sit down
- 32:00dinner like in sorry, in what world?
- 32:04Yeah, it's it's not the next day.
- 32:06It's the same day. Yeah.
- 32:09And then we're supposed to feel bad that he's like being shut
- 32:12out at dinner and not able to like pursue his like 4 hour love
- 32:15interest? I know.
- 32:16Yeah, it was very confusing. Yeah.
- 32:19For the for the viewer, yeah. Yeah.
- 32:21Because it's like the story they tell you, it kind of goes and
- 32:24like the narrative they're trying to create kind of goes
- 32:26against like normal human. I just logic.
- 32:30Logic like decency, respect, like and then you like show up
- 32:35at our house and you like, upset, I don't know, like
- 32:39danger. Danger.
- 32:41And then he ruined his whole life, yeah.
- 32:43He blew up his whole life. He did, yeah.
- 32:45And then didn't he go back? I should have rewatched it cuz
- 32:48now I kind of forget. Didn't he go back?
- 32:50And at the very end he like goes into their wedding.
- 32:52Yeah, he goes to. He gets into it with that guy,
- 32:55yeah. Well, I mean, he kind of was
- 32:57invited to that one. He was invited to that one, but
- 32:59he he arrives late and causes a kind of makes it about himself.
- 33:04But I know that his friend was like, look, it's OK.
- 33:07Yeah. Yeah, but I was really surprised
- 33:09after, like, Christopher Walken did all of that talking about
- 33:13like eugenics and like being like, wow, we're good breeding.
- 33:17They're both from good families, 2 good, Great American families
- 33:21coming together. They're gonna be a perfect white
- 33:23babies. And then he seemed perfectly
- 33:28fine with the fact that Gloria, his other daughter, was marrying
- 33:32this fraud that he kicked out of his house.
- 33:35He's like, well, you know her. She wants what she wants.
- 33:38OK, actually I forgot that one scene was funny when she he was
- 33:42like, let's evolve our relationship and she was like
- 33:45like threesomes and he's like. And he was like, yes, but also.
- 33:51I think this is Isla Fisher's, I was going to say breakout role,
- 33:54but I don't know if she's like a huge.
- 33:56What else has she been in? She's been in like a a number of
- 34:00things and none of them can come to the top of my mind at this
- 34:03time. Yeah, yeah.
- 34:05Inexplicably, I follow her on Instagram.
- 34:07Oh. She was married to Bora.
- 34:09I don't. Know what happened?
- 34:09That's right. That made me do that.
- 34:11But I'm always like, oh that. Lady.
- 34:13I wonder what she's up to. What's her name?
- 34:15Isla Fisher. Isla Fisher?
- 34:17Yeah. Good for her, yeah.
- 34:19She's so pretty. She is really pretty.
- 34:21Let's talk about her character a little bit.
- 34:23So this is the classic Women are crazy Stage 5 clinger that came
- 34:30from the Stage 5 clinger, Yes. Yeah.
- 34:32There were so many things the. Disrespect towards women.
- 34:34The disrespect. OK, so we are, we are told that
- 34:39this woman is a virgin and that is why she is in love with and
- 34:43becomes a sexual monster with Vince Vaughn's character.
- 34:47And then later she comes forward and says no, of course I'm not a
- 34:51virgin. That's just what guys want you
- 34:54to say. And he seems, I mean, he's upset
- 34:57because he's been lied to and realizes, oh, lying is not good.
- 35:01But also we're supposed to, I think, like, feel relief, Like,
- 35:04Oh well, thank God she didn't have sex with him for the first
- 35:07time because. Now she, I thought what the
- 35:10interpretation of that was, was that she told him I'm not a
- 35:14virgin. And then all of a sudden he
- 35:15wanted her more because she was just like, yeah, I was just
- 35:19having you on. And then he was like, oh, if
- 35:22we're both bullshitting. Right.
- 35:24I think that's it because he he was saying like, oh, well, if if
- 35:29I want her and she's crazy, then like I'm crazy too.
- 35:33And that's hot. But her crazy came off like
- 35:37maybe she's like has a little disability.
- 35:39I was going to say, like, she's like totally infantilized.
- 35:43Yes. Like, like everything about.
- 35:45Her, she talked. It was almost like a like a
- 35:48little bit. Uncomfortable.
- 35:49You brought my mind around how old she was supposed to be.
- 35:52Yeah, it reminded me of poor Things.
- 35:54Do you guys remember that movie with Emma Stone where she had a
- 35:57girl in a human? Yeah, woman's body.
- 35:59Yeah, yeah, it reminded me so. Much of that where I was, like,
- 36:03gonna bounce on you, yeah. Like at the Yeah.
- 36:05Yeah, it was a lot like that, of course.
- 36:08Men love that. Yeah, exactly.
- 36:10That's why this movie was really just yeah for men, I think. 100%
- 36:14and the whole like date rape of it all.
- 36:18Yeah, yeah. I mean in really.
- 36:21The first her and her brother. Yeah, a lot of a lot of casual
- 36:26attitudes toward date rape. And the mom was a bit of a
- 36:30sexual. Predator.
- 36:31Which? Jane Seymour did you all?
- 36:33Watch Doctor. Quinn, medicine woman.
- 36:35Yes, no, I did watch that. I can see that being a Mormon
- 36:38appointment. Approved appointment Television,
- 36:40Yes. We watched that.
- 36:42It was like Sunday nights or Saturday nights.
- 36:44It came on and. Like touched by an Angel.
- 36:46Watched it, really. Yes, yes, of the same vein.
- 36:50You should go back. And Doctor Quinn, OK, Yeah,
- 36:53she's beautiful. She's.
- 36:54Beautiful. I'm in a place of the Old West.
- 36:57I just read Lonesome Dove, so maybe Doctor Quinn's next, yeah?
- 37:01In the oral history, they also talked about how like every
- 37:05woman in Hollywood around that age auditioned for that role
- 37:10because there are so few roles for women in Hollywood around
- 37:14age 50. That's fucked up.
- 37:15So that's fucked up. Also like I thought that she was
- 37:18supposed to be like way older. She wasn't.
- 37:21I thought that they were playing her to be like.
- 37:23How old is she supposed to be? I don't know.
- 37:26I think it was just like the way that they that they played her
- 37:29that I was like, oh, she's supposed to be really old
- 37:31because she's like such a cougar.
- 37:33I think in real life, Jane Seymour had children at like 49.
- 37:38Incredible. Yeah.
- 37:40What women can do. That's so true.
- 37:43I mean, really. I mean, come on, even in the
- 37:48first like 90 seconds of the movie, the divorce mediation,
- 37:53when the guy like the ex-husband, there's like an
- 37:56ex-husband and ex-wife arguing. Of course, yes.
- 37:59And and she takes some pills and he's like, Oh yeah, go comatose
- 38:03for me, baby. Yeah.
- 38:05Yeah, what the fuck? Didn't have to wait very long
- 38:08for the first. Time.
- 38:10Yeah, Yeah. Dark.
- 38:13Umm, one thing I'm noting that I wanted to talk about.
- 38:16Oh yes, that bothered me throughout the whole movie.
- 38:18It was Owen Wilson's hair. I.
- 38:21Did like it. We did not once see his ears.
- 38:24Yeah, which is natural for a woman.
- 38:26I bet he's self-conscious about his.
- 38:27Ears so well, I'm glad you said that.
- 38:30Oh, I was like, something's wrong here.
- 38:33Like no one saw this and was like, yeah, I love this like
- 38:38fucking ugly hairstyle where he's got like his ears.
- 38:43I'm looking, I'm looking behind Oh.
- 38:44Wait, so now it's that's why I was like, I need to see him.
- 38:47Yeah, it'll, it'll turn to the next.
- 38:49One a minute, tell me when it's back because I will.
- 38:51It was so distracting once I started.
- 38:53So then I was like, does Owen Wilson have fucked up ears?
- 38:57Does he do this in every movie? And then I looked and normal.
- 39:01Ears normal, really. I mean, relative to his face,
- 39:05yeah. Yeah, Oh, turn around now.
- 39:07Yes, his. His ears are covered the entire
- 39:12movie. Yeah, who made that choice?
- 39:15I don't know. We need to talk to whoever was
- 39:16in hair and makeup. Yeah, because they look like
- 39:19earmuffs. They do, actually.
- 39:22That's actually. It drove me nuts.
- 39:24Yeah. And thank you for saying that.
- 39:26Yeah, and that's how it. Let's see.
- 39:28If you watch, get it out of your mind because you won't be able
- 39:31to unuse. No, you won't be able to see
- 39:34any. Ears.
- 39:34He doesn't have any ears as Lightning McQueen either.
- 39:38What's Lightning McQueen? When he's a when he's a car, in
- 39:41the car. When he's Lightning McQueen.
- 39:46Wait, can I tell you guys? Yeah.
- 39:47Can I tell you something? I once went on a date with
- 39:50somebody who had seen the movie Cars over 200 times.
- 39:53That person is me. That was the first hyper focus.
- 39:57Of my children, yeah. Did he have?
- 39:59Children. Did he she?
- 40:01They have children. No children.
- 40:05That sounds like a ritual. Yes, that sounds like a ritual.
- 40:08Volunteered that information day one.
- 40:11And OK. And did you ask why or?
- 40:14Yeah. Did you follow up a.
- 40:16Question. I've seen a lot of movies that I
- 40:18like. Never.
- 40:19I don't think I've ever approached 100.
- 40:22Yeah. Can you imagine though?
- 40:24No, Wait, what happened next? On their phone or on the?
- 40:27TV. I was like.
- 40:29Does he have Disney plus? I was like, oh, that's I was
- 40:35like, there's no way. Are you serious?
- 40:37And they were like, yeah, I like anytime I have a bad day, I
- 40:43watch cars. And for a while I was going
- 40:46through a really rough time and I watched like every day.
- 40:49Get a psychiatrist. That sounds like a real intense
- 40:52trauma response. Yeah, I said.
- 40:54Did. You go on a second date, No.
- 40:57Was it the cars? It wasn't.
- 41:02Not about the cars, Yeah. Yeah.
- 41:05Yeah, wow. Yeah, so anyways, that's a real
- 41:11Lightning McQueen. I mean, imagine.
- 41:14I mean, obviously I've never seen cars.
- 41:15I've never even heard of Lightning McQueen.
- 41:17Well, it's a good movie. It's a really great movie.
- 41:20Yeah. It's about a car named Lightning
- 41:24and he is like the up and Comer. He's kind of like an up and
- 41:29coming speedy little car and he goes on an adventure and you
- 41:34should watch it sometime, you know?
- 41:36It's really cute. Life is the highway.
- 41:38Owen Wilson is the boy. Of the movie.
- 41:40Also, Larry the Cable Guy is is a tow truck.
- 41:44Oh yeah. OK, Yeah, you can.
- 41:47You'll never watch. I'm sorry.
- 41:47I'm already tuned out. You have.
- 41:50You have a Nixon, he's coming up on Lightning McQueen H He is
- 41:53about to he is. So that's about the time I
- 41:56remember Armando and I remember the first time Bodie ever saw
- 41:58that movie. He was like cars, like he was
- 42:01like mesmerized and. Obsessed, but maybe.
- 42:07Yeah, try. Just turn it on.
- 42:08It's got a pretty gripping beginning.
- 42:10Yeah, it's got a real. It really gets you it.
- 42:13Really. I can relate to your friend.
- 42:16Yeah, because I've probably seen it that many times.
- 42:20We're not friends, we're not in touch.
- 42:21Someone. Someone you met.
- 42:24I always think that's so weird when someone's like, oh, well,
- 42:27we went on a date and we just ended up becoming really good
- 42:29friends. Or like if I would go on a date
- 42:31with someone, they'd be like, I just see us as like friends.
- 42:33I'm like what? I'm just on the business of
- 42:36making new. Friends.
- 42:37Yeah. No new friends.
- 42:38We're good. We're stacked.
- 42:39That's weird. Yeah.
- 42:41I mean, I make new friends all the time.
- 42:43You do, and I honestly, so do I, but we can't help ourselves.
- 42:47You know it. I.
- 42:48Try not to, I know. And it's hard.
- 42:50We try not to and. Against all odds here we are
- 42:54still racking them up. OK, let's see.
- 43:00What do you guys? OK, what do you guys think?
- 43:07In addition to just having a lot of empathy for the the gay kid.
- 43:13What do we think about all that? The one one line I wrote down
- 43:18was Big Dike, Huge dike, which I don't.
- 43:21I assume grandma said that too. I grandma said that I really, I
- 43:25honestly am so over the old personal races.
- 43:31Yeah, like I just don't need like the bigoted old person as
- 43:36like a punchline. Well, they knew it was wrong
- 43:38when they wrote the those lines because like, even they heard
- 43:42Rachel McAdams was like, you can't say that, grandma.
- 43:44It's like, right. So you know it's wrong.
- 43:47Yeah. Or insensitive.
- 43:48And you know that they're like, Oh well, we, we want to say,
- 43:51'cause it's funny. Yeah, but we have to give it to.
- 43:53Grandma, because old people are racist, you know what I mean?
- 43:57It's. Like, yeah, they wanted to say
- 43:58it, so they just said it that way.
- 43:59Yeah, exactly. And then they put, and then they
- 44:01put it on this old person and be like, Oh, well, you know, it's
- 44:04not us. It's not us who are like, we're
- 44:06not the homophobic ones. It's old people.
- 44:09Yeah, I think it's just like a low level of humor.
- 44:12Yeah. I didn't laugh when she said
- 44:14homo, though. I don't know, for some reason I
- 44:16think it's her voice. OK, sorry.
- 44:19Sorry. Shoot me.
- 44:20Sorry, she would have remember she was about to she's about to
- 44:24shoot those guys. She.
- 44:25Came out with that. She came out with a shotgun.
- 44:27I. Forgot about that with a
- 44:28shotgun. Threatened to get them out,
- 44:31yeah. I'd like to be that kind of
- 44:32person. Yeah, where they say grandma,
- 44:34what are you doing with that gun?
- 44:35Who, like unexpectedly, will just like, shoot like.
- 44:40Who will throw a brick through an exit so that you don't have
- 44:43to? People don't know that I'm a
- 44:44fuck around and find out kind of lady.
- 44:46Yeah, I think they do though. But.
- 44:48Actually, I think they do. I think yeah, yeah, but in a
- 44:51good. Way, but maybe a shotgun would
- 44:53solidify that. Yeah, yeah, if I just came at
- 44:56people with a shotgun. I really hope that somebody like
- 45:00tries to bamboozle you so that you can threaten them.
- 45:03Someone did and she declined. She declined that offer.
- 45:08You did something. I just got you.
- 45:10It was. Someone on Poshmark but she won
- 45:13so oh. Did you try to return something?
- 45:16She tried to return. She tried to return something.
- 45:18Thank God you won this. This bitch, I cannot believe
- 45:22they let her return it and I was like it was like $90.00.
- 45:26This woman paid OK. It is not worth fighting me.
- 45:31Yeah. Do you know how much my time is
- 45:33worth? Yeah, I, I had to go to UPS.
- 45:35I had to find a box. Yeah.
- 45:37And then she was like, oh, I the boots aren't lying.
- 45:40It's like fur lined boots. And she's like, they're not
- 45:42lined on the toe. What?
- 45:47And then she says that makes him redundant with my closet.
- 45:49Probably because she didn't they didn't work out for her and then
- 45:52she was trying to find any. Reason but I thought Pashmart
- 45:55didn't let you return. So then I got shitty like and I
- 45:57said next time I got really like shitty and also sexist with her.
- 46:01I was like, next time I said hysteria and a buyer, how do you
- 46:06say women are hysterical? Yeah, I said I will.
- 46:10I will save my time because this was not worth the effort.
- 46:14And then she said the emoji of the water guns.
- 46:16Actually she didn't respond, which made me more mad.
- 46:20Oh. God, I was like fight with me.
- 46:22Oh my God, that boils my blood. Yes, because this woman had she
- 46:28really had shown signs earlier than this.
- 46:31Yeah, because she was like the tracking number hasn't showed
- 46:34up. I was like, because I dropped it
- 46:35at USUPS and it's USPS. And then she's like, what's UPS
- 46:41store? Did you take it to?
- 46:42Oh my. God and I have the number.
- 46:44And then she called The UPS Store.
- 46:48What? Imagine this, she told you.
- 46:49Block. And I should I should have
- 46:52known. Is not yes.
- 46:54I'm sorry that you went through such a saga.
- 46:56Yeah, and I'm like, keep them. I don't want them back.
- 46:59Oh my God, what a nightmare. No decline.
- 47:02Decline that offer. I decline.
- 47:05Wow. Yeah, but I couldn't.
- 47:06Poshmark agreed, even though I fought Which Have you ever had a
- 47:09Poshmark dispute? Yeah.
- 47:11No, but they almost always side with the buyer.
- 47:14You don't talk to Poshmark directly, you put it in like the
- 47:18mutual conversation. So like complaints that you have
- 47:21about the other person or just. Near the conversation, Yeah,
- 47:24it's all there. Yeah, it's.
- 47:27Which she was. Had I known she would have won.
- 47:29I just should have like gone full bore like.
- 47:31Oh, for sure. But she also has my address, so
- 47:33and name. Oh, that's true.
- 47:35I have hers. It's going to her house.
- 47:37I want to go to Connecticut. Oh my.
- 47:38God road trip. OK.
- 47:41OK. I don't think I've ever been to
- 47:42Connecticut, really. I've been.
- 47:45There. I've never been there.
- 47:46Not on my list. Well, I mean, it was.
- 47:49It looked exactly like Massachusetts, which is where
- 47:52I'm from. But when you live out there,
- 47:54those states are so tiny and especially when you're Mormon.
- 47:57The only reason I've been there is because I've been to Mormon
- 47:59stuff there. Yeah, Knock, door knock.
- 48:04No, I didn't do it. I went to some sort of like
- 48:07Mormon woman girl event there. Yeah.
- 48:11But there's so few Mormons that like probably every Mormon woman
- 48:15in Massachusetts went to Connecticut.
- 48:17Yeah. New England Mormon.
- 48:18Yeah. Like, it's such a small
- 48:19community there. Yeah.
- 48:21So you. Were like alone in not being
- 48:23able to watch wedding crashers. Yeah, it was like the only
- 48:26fucking school that didn't get to watch it, and now you're
- 48:29bringing it up again no one's getting.
- 48:30So yeah. We are doing inner child work
- 48:33here. We are healing.
- 48:34We're healing. You know, there's some movies,
- 48:36okay, I know that there's a lot of movies I've missed and there
- 48:38are movies that I'm actually okay with missing.
- 48:40Wow. Because I'm like that movie and
- 48:42when I finally saw it kind of sucked.
- 48:44But then there are movies that like, I didn't get to see that I
- 48:48finally got to see that were really good.
- 48:50And it's like so kind of special as an adult being like, Oh my
- 48:52gosh, I appreciate this now. Like I yeah, I saw Dirty Dancing
- 48:55for the first. Time when I was.
- 48:56Like 30 Oh my God, just a. Few years ago and I was like
- 48:59this movie is amazing. Dirty Dancing.
- 49:01Slaps. It is an incredible movie.
- 49:02Like I was like, wow, what if it's good one?
- 49:04But I do feel like Wedding Crashers I could have probably
- 49:07just never seen. Yeah.
- 49:08And like kept going on. I could have kept going on with
- 49:11that one. Yeah, I feel bad.
- 49:13We haven't really talked about it, but, and I know people love
- 49:15it and yeah, Craig thought it aged well, or he thought it aged
- 49:19OK, but he thought it was funny. Greg is incorrect.
- 49:22How old was great like when this came out I was probably.
- 49:24He's in college. Yeah, it was probably like his
- 49:27movie This way it's. Truly made for Greg.
- 49:29And I wanted is it? From Baltimore.
- 49:32Why I'm so against it is I wanted it to like Reignite and
- 49:36there was things in it that I'm like, oh, I remember my guy
- 49:38friend saying that or I remember.
- 49:40Yeah, there was a. Lot saying that.
- 49:41Cultural references. You know, even when he was like,
- 49:44erroneous, erroneous, erroneous on all accounts.
- 49:48Yeah, Yeah. What is the reason?
- 49:50Good. Lying.
- 49:51What does erroneous? Mean it's like it's an error.
- 49:54Is that erroneous? Error.
- 49:58It's error. It's like an error error
- 50:01erroneous. Yeah.
- 50:02OK, it's not really. I get to my vocabulary.
- 50:04It's not. Really.
- 50:05Where that people? Don't really use it that often.
- 50:08Yeah, do you, I mean, do you in law talk in?
- 50:11Law Talk. OK, Yeah.
- 50:13Yes, of course, among. Yeah.
- 50:15They say the government's assertion was erroneous.
- 50:17Oh, of course you. Know what you know what law term
- 50:19I got really familiar with? Preponderance.
- 50:24Oh. Yeah, the preponderance standard
- 50:26that's. Really good.
- 50:27Yeah. I kept reading it over and over
- 50:28again and I have having to like break it down to like read it
- 50:31out loud because it's like a long word.
- 50:33A long word, yeah. Yeah.
- 50:34Ponderance, and it's not one that you see every day if you're
- 50:37not a lawyer. Yeah, I I finally broke down and
- 50:40asked a lawyer. What does that even mean?
- 50:42More likely than not. More likely than not, bitch by a
- 50:45preponderance of evidence. Yeah, less than beyond a
- 50:47reasonable doubt, which is the highest standard in the law.
- 50:50And if you're ever on a jury, never.
- 50:51Criminals, right? Criminals by.
- 50:54But only only for for a jury. A lot of other like findings the
- 50:59judge has to make preponderance. Preponderance.
- 51:03Well, I know that now. Now you know.
- 51:04Yeah, lesser standard. Yeah.
- 51:09Who made that up though? That word just anyway, Never
- 51:12mind I. Don't know, I don't know.
- 51:14A ball person, maybe Alexander Hamilton.
- 51:18Still never seen that either. You haven't?
- 51:20Never. Oh, a lot I've.
- 51:22Never seen Hamilton, I know nothing about Wicked either.
- 51:26I thought maybe your nails were. Wicked, I need to put something
- 51:29on the record right now. Put it on the record.
- 51:31Put it on the record. I have these nails that everyone
- 51:35is asking if they are wicked. And.
- 51:38I don't know shit about that movie or the play or the book.
- 51:42I've never seen it. I have.
- 51:44No, I'm not a wicked person. There's no shade.
- 51:47I just have never, it never gripped me and I never saw the
- 51:51first movie. And no, they are not wicked, but
- 51:54they do seem wickedy and it was just kind of the time of isn't.
- 51:58This what Ariana Grande has to Cynthia but when she needs
- 52:00support. Yeah, she says this is holding
- 52:03space, she said. Annie needs, you know.
- 52:06She needs her to hold space. I do, I can just.
- 52:09Move the tears right now from where I.
- 52:12I have I sliced the other. Day.
- 52:14I mean, Thanksgiving does you him.
- 52:16We're out here cooking, cleaning.
- 52:18Yeah, I just fell down the stairs.
- 52:22I'm so sad that I didn't see it, yeah, but also happy I think
- 52:27there isn't like I was like, I need cheated privacy in that
- 52:30moment. Thank you.
- 52:31And I'm glad that I didn't see it.
- 52:33You know, I did have, there was a period of time I think that I
- 52:36was like cursed and I thought I had broken the curse, but
- 52:39clearly it's come back. There was a period of time where
- 52:41I fell down the stairs. So do you guys remember this?
- 52:45Like I was falling down the stairs constantly.
- 52:48For some reason it's so embarrassing.
- 52:51I know no matter what, it is so embarrassing whether you're
- 52:55alone, whether you're with other people.
- 52:57It's so embarrassing. There was like it, really.
- 52:59Was a really humble environment going to my house my.
- 53:02Cat's there, and he's always. Like and he's like and you're
- 53:05like you're. Like girl, what are you doing?
- 53:07Stop. Looking at me like that, you
- 53:09lick your own asshole and they look at these pets look at you
- 53:12like, Oh my God, that's so embarrassing for you.
- 53:14I fell down the stairs one time on New Year's Eve and I was
- 53:21going into a basement and and there was.
- 53:25Three wearing like a shimmery wearing.
- 53:27Like a true shimmery. New Year's Eve going?
- 53:33Tell me more. In a shimmery dress I'm walking
- 53:37down shimmery and stairs babes. Wait 20/20/22 when is this?
- 53:42This is you have going into 2023.
- 53:45No, it was going into 2024. This is New Year's Eve
- 53:482023-2024. I'm walking down these concrete
- 53:54and. What kind of shoes were you
- 53:55wearing? I was wearing little boots.
- 53:56OK. And a little boots.
- 53:58I'm going into a basement full of people, probably 20 people,
- 54:03OK, And I'm clomping down the stairs and I fall on my ass and
- 54:10go down the stairs. It's like, it was like a record
- 54:15scratch moment where everyone's like, what just happened?
- 54:18And I'm like, I'm OK, I'm OK, you guys.
- 54:21I'm gonna show you. I'm gonna show you video after.
- 54:23No, it's not a video. The a photo of the bruise on my
- 54:27ass. I don't believe.
- 54:28It this is insane, but it was within like a two weeks man.
- 54:31I fell down the stairs three other times.
- 54:34What is going? On within 2.
- 54:35Weeks I don't know OK, this is really like I felt like I felt
- 54:39like Melissa McCarthy and Lulu Diamonds when she's like why
- 54:42don't you come upstairs and see me up there sometime but she
- 54:44like can't get up the stairs because she keeps falling.
- 54:47I felt like her. I was like, oh, that's.
- 54:50Could you enjoy the party? Yeah, other than that, the party
- 54:53was done. Did anyone yell like, Oh my God,
- 54:56she fell? No, it was more like a a hush
- 55:00like. Oh my God.
- 55:02Are you when I? Felt kind of like WAVY.
- 55:04I hate when people are like, are you OK?
- 55:08Or like, if I trip, I'm like ignore that I tripped.
- 55:11But I, you know, my kink is not falling.
- 55:14I I know it, but it's. Like.
- 55:16So. But I was very awkward to
- 55:18ignore. You were very.
- 55:19Kind it's really awkward to ignore when someone like trips
- 55:22to just be like, oh, as if I didn't see that well.
- 55:27I fell. Downstairs with like a friend,
- 55:29you know, if I see a stranger almost fall, I'm not going to be
- 55:34like, you know, well. I haven't everyone that.
- 55:37Falls I recently. I didn't laugh.
- 55:39Texted a friend I hadn't texted in a while.
- 55:42Yeah. And I, last time I saw her was
- 55:45at her home and I had kind of a Sophie's Choice because she was
- 55:48like, our our floors have been like, recently refinished and
- 55:51they're very slippery. Oh my.
- 55:53So you might want to be careful in your socks, but it was
- 55:55chilly. Oh no.
- 55:57So I was like, it's fine. And then I went down her stairs
- 56:01and thank God it was only like 2 stairs, but I slam so hard.
- 56:04Yeah. So then of course I sent her a
- 56:06picture of my bare ass, of course with the bruise.
- 56:08Yeah. And so I got her Christmas card
- 56:11yesterday and I texted her like, oh I love the Christmas and like
- 56:14above it. Yeah, it is my bare ass.
- 56:17Oh, I can't wait. We're gonna have to do some
- 56:19exchanging. I'll show you the photos.
- 56:22Wow. Yeah.
- 56:24Well, thank you so much for for sharing that with me so that we
- 56:28know we're all human here. Yeah, we're all human.
- 56:31Oh yeah. Let's circle back to this movie.
- 56:34OK? Do you guys get horny at
- 56:36funerals? That's the thing that Chaz Will
- 56:46Ferrell's character. Ma the meatloaf is I think that
- 56:50the best line in the movie. I want to want to say that way
- 56:52like Ma the bee. Loaf.
- 56:54It was just okay, okay? It's like, okay.
- 56:57Well, I mean the best line among like.
- 56:59Yeah. It's like, but really, tree fall
- 57:02hard was kind of funny. Big tree fall hard, Yeah.
- 57:05I like I actually funny you say that because I bought all the
- 57:08ingredients to make meatloaf today.
- 57:10Inspired by this. No, just intuitively.
- 57:12Consciously. Yeah, like I was at Sprouts and
- 57:14I was like getting pork and beef and I was like, I think I'm
- 57:16gonna make a meatloaf. Wow, God, I haven't made it.
- 57:19I don't know if I've ever. Made loaf fucking is so good.
- 57:21Yeah, it is like if you get a good meatloaf or you make a good
- 57:24meatloaf, like on a night like tonight.
- 57:26Do you do bread crumbs? Yeah, I do.
- 57:28Bread crumbs. My brother-in-law loves
- 57:31meatloaf. Yeah, I mean, I make it.
- 57:32In Western. Yeah, he's from Kansas City.
- 57:35Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah.
- 57:36Yeah, but if you do like a really good meatloaf with like
- 57:38potatoes and it's like a real cold night, it's like really
- 57:42slaps. But sorry, returning to the
- 57:44funeral. Can you can you turn to my
- 57:46question? Sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 57:48You don't know, but I will say I've had some luck at weddings.
- 57:51Oh, I know you have. I mean, a wedding, yeah.
- 57:54At funeral, No. Yeah.
- 57:56Never felt that at a funeral. Yeah, no.
- 57:58But also like I think in our age are mostly like if it's someone
- 58:03my age, it's like devastating, right?
- 58:06And if it's not, it's like someone's like parent or like
- 58:09grandparent or like my grandparent.
- 58:11And it's like, it's like, not a lot of hotties there.
- 58:14It's like, yeah, I'm just. Lovingly to my uncles, but.
- 58:17Right. The thing that's awkward about
- 58:19funerals is that like, your family is probably going to be
- 58:22there. If it's like someone older, it's
- 58:25probably someone related to the family.
- 58:27And I'm not trying to meet men around my family.
- 58:31That said, I did once make out with a groomsman who was engaged
- 58:36at a family wedding. I do.
- 58:37I do actually remember that story, yeah.
- 58:39Yeah, I was in my cups, but yeah, yeah.
- 58:43How I And also that said regarding funerals, if you're a
- 58:49party Catholic, you get as drunk at a funeral as you do at a
- 58:53wedding. Oh, big time.
- 58:54Oh, you know what? That's another thing I wanted to
- 58:56bring up with this film is that one of the things that feels
- 59:00like unsaid but conveniently skirted around is that date
- 59:06rape, the date rape of it all, Like that all they're
- 59:09manipulating these women to sleep with them and it's like,
- 59:11well, it's a wedding, so obviously they're drunk and they
- 59:15don't and they don't like explicitly show that, but it's
- 59:20implied because it's weddings, right?
- 59:22Is that just me being like everyone gets drunk at weddings
- 59:26or? Everyone, I think you're right.
- 59:28I mean, not us, but people do that.
- 59:30I had that thought while watching it.
- 59:31Yeah. Was that like they go to
- 59:33weddings to like sleep with drunk?
- 59:36Women, yeah, I mean, the thing that like truly didn't age well
- 59:38is like that they treat women like shit and.
- 59:41That's. The whole premise of this movie
- 59:44is that, like, suddenly Owen Wilson finds one woman worthy
- 59:48enough to be treated well And by well, it's like what you were
- 59:52describing, which is like, inexplicably trying to destroy
- 59:56her engagement after he spent 24 hours with her.
- 1:00:00Right? Yeah.
- 1:00:00And like bike flirting. Because he's like, important
- 1:00:03enough. Or even like when he when he
- 1:00:05realizes that he needs to make a change in his life, it's because
- 1:00:11he sees a woman who of course is unfuckable because she's old.
- 1:00:16He sees a woman who is older than him crying, having genuine
- 1:00:20feelings and being sad at a funeral.
- 1:00:23And he goes, oh, maybe women are human.
- 1:00:27Like that's what it. Took.
- 1:00:29Yeah, that's what it took was him seeing an unfuckable woman
- 1:00:33crying. I guess I didn't really, but by
- 1:00:36the time we got to the funeral scene, I was honestly like, I
- 1:00:40thought this movie was going to be a lot funnier.
- 1:00:42It was. I was let down.
- 1:00:44Too. This movie should not have been
- 1:00:47two hours long. I fucking hate these bromantic
- 1:00:49comedies where they're like, we just let them improv all of this
- 1:00:53and we had to keep it all in. They can't the wedding.
- 1:00:55Montage was too long. Yeah, the sad sack bullshit in
- 1:01:00his apartment was too long. Yeah, but like even the hand job
- 1:01:05at the table was too long. Way too long.
- 1:01:07Oh, that part was so hard to watch.
- 1:01:09Yeah, I felt, I felt a lot of it was cringy.
- 1:01:12Yes. Like I was kind of like, oh,
- 1:01:14like watching it. Yeah, me too.
- 1:01:17Yeah. I I say the hand job at the
- 1:01:19table was too long, but also like he's already fucked what,
- 1:01:22like twice that day? Yeah, just like, so I I mean,
- 1:01:26every man is different, sure, but you've like gotten off twice
- 1:01:31that day, then you're at the table and you're getting off for
- 1:01:34my hand job. That's like 4 minutes.
- 1:01:37Yeah. And.
- 1:01:38She what he's like, this is how she does it.
- 1:01:41Yeah. And over that she's doing with
- 1:01:44her hand. And over the pants hand job,
- 1:01:46yeah. Yeah, that guy, man, I mean, I
- 1:01:50don't even know. Here's the thing too, is that he
- 1:01:52talks about how he like has feelings for her and he's like,
- 1:01:56oh like she's crazy and I like it.
- 1:01:59I did not get one inkling up until that point that he was
- 1:02:04actually interested in her. Like there was some person he's
- 1:02:06like, kind of like acquiesces a little bit, but I never, it
- 1:02:12never really seemed to me like he was in on it.
- 1:02:16If you can fall deeply in love and ruin your life over a woman
- 1:02:20after 24 hours, you can switch like that.
- 1:02:23That's so true. That is so true.
- 1:02:25Yeah, forgot that. I think that he fell for her
- 1:02:29when she was like, yeah, you're just as like, meaningless to me,
- 1:02:32basically like that this was all an act.
- 1:02:35And that's when he was like, wait, I love you.
- 1:02:39Yeah, Yeah. It's basically every toxic trope
- 1:02:43in this movie. Yeah.
- 1:02:45I'm hating it more the more we talk about it.
- 1:02:47Yeah, I'm. I don't want to say hate, but.
- 1:02:51Well, why not? It's not like.
- 1:02:53Because it used to hold such like a special place in my
- 1:02:55heart. And I think I'll still, I still
- 1:02:57say to Greg, like I'll find you. Yeah.
- 1:03:01But even that, like in the moment, I was like, that wasn't
- 1:03:06that funny, right? I'm, I'm frankly, I'm devastated
- 1:03:09that this didn't age well. Yeah, well.
- 1:03:11I, or maybe I, aged well. Or maybe you?
- 1:03:14I maybe you passed the movie. Yeah, you aged, matured past the
- 1:03:18movie. Yeah.
- 1:03:19But I think that, yeah, I mean same.
- 1:03:22And it's not that all of this genre, like I still thought old
- 1:03:26school was like parts of it, even though it didn't like there
- 1:03:30was parts that were offensive, was laugh out loud funny.
- 1:03:33Well, I thought about super bad. Like super bad makes me laugh.
- 1:03:36Yeah, like but I literally the only thing made me laugh was
- 1:03:40Hooters. Yeah.
- 1:03:42Honestly, okay, I was talking just a couple days ago about
- 1:03:45Super Bad versus Wedding Crashers and I was like, you
- 1:03:47know what? Super bad?
- 1:03:49Well, it doesn't age well. There are still some parts that
- 1:03:51are so funny, like the fact that that kid's name is Mclovin, like
- 1:03:54that is so that will always be funny.
- 1:03:56That will always be funny. That's so stupid and funny.
- 1:03:59Super Bad's a smarter comedy. I would say it is.
- 1:04:02Yeah, yeah, this one truly just hit on every trope, every beat
- 1:04:08was so. I would hate to meet the maker
- 1:04:10of this movie. Yeah, like who just wanted to be
- 1:04:13like made this. It's not misogynist.
- 1:04:16Yeah, like I'm like, I don't sorry to interrupt you, but I
- 1:04:19just, I'm like who is this guy that wrote this?
- 1:04:21What the fuck? Yeah.
- 1:04:22And like in the oral history, when he's talking about how it's
- 1:04:26allegedly not misogynistic, he's like, oh, yeah.
- 1:04:30These guys, like, they tried. They, like, seduce these women.
- 1:04:33And by the time that they actually have sex with them,
- 1:04:36it's like a magic trick. You know, It's like, you don't
- 1:04:38realize that that's what they've been trying to do the whole
- 1:04:40time. And that's what I'm trying to do
- 1:04:42with this movie to our audience. And I said that's your.
- 1:04:45That's your. For why this isn't misogynistic,
- 1:04:49what's part of the movie? The magic trick?
- 1:04:52The fact that like once the men are being fucked boys at a
- 1:04:55wedding is a magic trick. God, got that, got it.
- 1:05:01But it seems a bridge too far that I am being tricked by this
- 1:05:06movie. I wasn't tricked.
- 1:05:08Yeah. Has he made anything after?
- 1:05:10This I guess, I guess 18 year old me maybe was tricked OK.
- 1:05:14But also like those like, you know, I like, yeah, like stuff
- 1:05:17from our youth didn't always age, doesn't always age the
- 1:05:20best. But like, you know, sometimes
- 1:05:22that like the Nestelle. It wasn't even the misogyny of
- 1:05:24this that bothered me. It was, it was the hair.
- 1:05:27It was the hair. And then it wasn't funny.
- 1:05:30Yeah, their banter graded on me. Yeah, Oh my God, I totally.
- 1:05:34Even from the opening scene with the divorce mediation, when
- 1:05:38they're like having this back and forth that I'm like, at what
- 1:05:42point in my life do I think this is like charming?
- 1:05:45I have seen Vince Vaughn on my screen way too much the past
- 1:05:48couple months because OK, so yeah, so I now.
- 1:05:51He's out of my life. I then and and and.
- 1:05:53And you mocked us for thinking he was attractive.
- 1:05:56I'm sorry. You've got you have, Vince.
- 1:05:57Vaughn I have a podcast where I talk about movies from the past
- 1:06:03and how. They happen to pick every movie
- 1:06:06with Vince Vaughn. Have you seen those?
- 1:06:07Having Vince Vaughn Month 1212 Days of Vince.
- 1:06:11Actually, there are. There's a Vince Vaughn Christmas
- 1:06:13movie. Oh, my God.
- 1:06:14Oh, yeah. There is.
- 1:06:15I think actually one of the, should we do that?
- 1:06:17One of the writers of you guys, one of the writers of this
- 1:06:20movie, I think, wrote that movie with Vince Vaughn in.
- 1:06:23It So yeah, they've got to have a crew.
- 1:06:25They've got a crew, but Can you imagine?
- 1:06:27They're like behind the scenes. Girl, but Vince Vaughn every.
- 1:06:30So he was good in the movie Swingers, which was one of his
- 1:06:34earliest, earliest roles. OK, that and it all went
- 1:06:36downhill. There, I think because he didn't
- 1:06:38really have an ego in that movie, he.
- 1:06:40Wasn't him. He wasn't Vince Vaughn yet.
- 1:06:42He was still just potential. But then by the time that this
- 1:06:46movie comes around, it's like he's racing to get to the end of
- 1:06:49a sentence. Like he's he's like, I'm, I'm
- 1:06:53running out of breath and I need to get this sentence out now.
- 1:06:57And that is it's very unsustainable.
- 1:06:59He did do that the whole time. Yeah, he did.
- 1:07:02He talked really fast. And it's like he's always, it's
- 1:07:05like he was trying to catch up with himself.
- 1:07:06Like his mouth was running. Yes, he seems and I don't want
- 1:07:13to accuse anybody sure of addiction.
- 1:07:15We know that from Mirth Marx you shouldn't accuse people of.
- 1:07:18Course. None of us have faced.
- 1:07:20He's and I would never face he. Seems like a heavy heavy
- 1:07:24drinker, heavy drug user and that this movie was like the
- 1:07:29beginning of like. Could really see that life was
- 1:07:32starting to wear on him. I mean.
- 1:07:34What are the blind items on Vince Vaughn?
- 1:07:37Vaughn I. Think they're pretty bad.
- 1:07:39Date Jennifer Aniston I. Just thought maybe.
- 1:07:42That's where I soured on him because they were in that movie
- 1:07:46together. Break up did.
- 1:07:47You have you done the break up? No.
- 1:07:49Because I hate that movie. I mean I've done other movies
- 1:07:52that I hate but I just really don't want to rewatch it.
- 1:07:54Dad's movie you have a conviction against the most
- 1:07:56podcast. That's a line I guess.
- 1:07:59But, and that is wonderful. That's one of them.
- 1:08:01But she, I think, has poor taste in men.
- 1:08:05As we've seen. And he must have fucked that up.
- 1:08:10He's the only one that went MAGA though of her exes though,
- 1:08:13right? He's MAGA.
- 1:08:15He was at the inauguration, babes.
- 1:08:20Vince Vaughn. I mean, I shouldn't be shocked.
- 1:08:22We know nothing about him but. Can we edit out that Molly and I
- 1:08:26said it was a try that Yeah, I mean, I sleep, yeah.
- 1:08:28Get my name out of your fucking mouth.
- 1:08:31Shut your mouth when you're talking to me.
- 1:08:32Shut your mouth when you're talking to me.
- 1:08:34Oh, my. Yeah.
- 1:08:35I mean, it doesn't. So he was based on Charlie
- 1:08:37Perry's. Funeral.
- 1:08:38Did he speak there? Probably.
- 1:08:40Probably. Was he was.
- 1:08:42There probably. Probably.
- 1:08:46Oh my God. Oh.
- 1:08:48I know. Speaking of misogyny, but
- 1:08:51misogyny I can get behind. Sure.
- 1:08:53Like the the memes about the magnification of like women's
- 1:08:58faces. Oh yeah.
- 1:09:00And like recently Sydney Sweeney went on like got like magnified.
- 1:09:06And then have you seen Misses Dell?
- 1:09:09Who's misses? Dell misses.
- 1:09:11Dell. OK.
- 1:09:12Of like Dell computer? Yeah, recently did like a public
- 1:09:16announcement and it's. Like magnified?
- 1:09:19Her face magnified. No, her, she's just shy of like
- 1:09:22Catwoman. Like they.
- 1:09:24Had a lot of. Work done, I saw I saw a house
- 1:09:27in Mexico last week that was built by Mr. Dell.
- 1:09:31Mr. Dell, her husband. Well anyway, anyway, there's a
- 1:09:35lot of memes going around the Internet regarding the
- 1:09:39magnification of her face and yeah, women's faces in general,
- 1:09:42and I can get behind. Dragging into that.
- 1:09:44Magnified women. Absolutely, yeah.
- 1:09:47Because they're working against their own interest, like
- 1:09:49personally, facially and also societally so.
- 1:09:54Yeah. And my interest.
- 1:09:55And it's it's powerful when they truly wear their insides on
- 1:09:59their outsides. And it's ugly.
- 1:10:01Erroneous. Erroneous, erroneous, erroneous
- 1:10:04on all accounts. Yeah.
- 1:10:05I'm actually really excited for you to start saying that.
- 1:10:07Yeah, I'm gonna start remembering these words.
- 1:10:09Yeah. And use them.
- 1:10:10These are good words. People think I'm.
- 1:10:12I might think I'm smart. People know you're smart and
- 1:10:14they might say, wait, are you a lawyer?
- 1:10:16And you'll say. I do sometimes a law jargon.
- 1:10:19You'll say I speak lawyer sometimes.
- 1:10:21I may not be a lawyer, but I I've got them close.
- 1:10:26Yeah, and we keep them close. Recently, as you all know, I was
- 1:10:30in a three-week trial. Yes, she was.
- 1:10:32And yes, she did. The government endorsed someone
- 1:10:35as an expert and the. Prosecution.
- 1:10:39Yes, yeah. The prosecution endorsed someone
- 1:10:41as an expert. And my investigator was like,
- 1:10:44OK, you know, my cousin Binny, Mona Lisa Vito, Mona Lisa Mona
- 1:10:50Lisa Vito. And I said, oh.
- 1:10:52Do I? And she was like, it's like
- 1:10:58they're saying that this guy is like her, but really she's he's
- 1:11:04like a version of her that's never worked on a car.
- 1:11:07And I was like. Immediate.
- 1:11:09Clocked. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:11:12And then he was like the original.
- 1:11:13Expert. And then he was.
- 1:11:14Allowed to be endorsed. As an expert anyway.
- 1:11:17But that was fun for me because then I got to ask him about an
- 1:11:20interview he gave when he said that he believed in Sasquatch.
- 1:11:25Oh my God, I remember. You calling us this?
- 1:11:28That's what was, so I got to. Say I also believe in.
- 1:11:30Sasquatch. So you believe in Sasquatch?
- 1:11:32He said. Yes.
- 1:11:33Is that an unpopular opinion? And I said because of the smell.
- 1:11:36And he said, oh, oh, I said because you've smelled them.
- 1:11:39And he said, no, no, no, I haven't smelled Sasquatch.
- 1:11:42I've never, I've never come across Sasquatch.
- 1:11:44I was like naturally, naturally. And so normally you don't like
- 1:11:49open-ended a witness. You're not like, tell me more
- 1:11:52about that with someone you're cross examining.
- 1:11:54But I was like this. Guy was on I need to.
- 1:11:56Know more, and this is in front of the jury, I said.
- 1:11:58Tell me more about that. And did he?
- 1:12:01And he did. He said, well, they have a very
- 1:12:03specific smell. And that's how you know.
- 1:12:06And I said. He's but he didn't know what it
- 1:12:07smelled like. I said makes perfect sense,
- 1:12:09yeah. Makes perfect.
- 1:12:11Sense. Got it.
- 1:12:12So back to your expertise. Yeah.
- 1:12:14So back to you being an expert. Yeah.
- 1:12:18Oh, I'm so glad that you got to do that and that we got to hear
- 1:12:21about it, Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that was amazing.
- 1:12:24Yeah, there's and congratulations on being done
- 1:12:27with that trial. You work so hard.
- 1:12:29Yeah, it's a long damn. Women do more than get drunk at
- 1:12:34weddings. And and show their tits Yeah,
- 1:12:37which which? You could you can do that.
- 1:12:39Too. No, I mean you can do that too,
- 1:12:41but you should do it on your own terms.
- 1:12:44Absolutely, and not with these clowns.
- 1:12:46No, not with a man who can't brush his hair behind his ears.
- 1:12:50Yeah, I mean, that feels like. Never had a haircut.
- 1:12:52Like a bit of an. Like this man professional an.
- 1:12:55Attorney. Or like for a lawyer in two.
- 1:12:571005, like that's to me was like seems unprofessional for that
- 1:13:01time, for that profession. Yeah, it's so juvenile.
- 1:13:04And he's like, like 40 years old.
- 1:13:06Yeah. That's the other thing we
- 1:13:09ignored is that all these women are like 20 to 25 and these men
- 1:13:14are like 4045. Yeah.
- 1:13:16Classic like even Will Ferrell like young Will Ferrell in this
- 1:13:20movie is like 50. You think that they're still
- 1:13:23friends? No.
- 1:13:24No. Probably not.
- 1:13:26Are they in other movies together?
- 1:13:28I think so, yeah. Can't recall.
- 1:13:31Name em. Name em name.
- 1:13:33Em name em. I can't.
- 1:13:34I just. Can't believe Owen Wilson had
- 1:13:35like the kind of career he had. He.
- 1:13:37I feel like that's what I'm saying.
- 1:13:38The other one was a great actor, Great.
- 1:13:41Legally Blonde. He should have had more.
- 1:13:43Yeah. Why did Owen get the career?
- 1:13:45Yeah, maybe he had a great career and I just didn't follow
- 1:13:47it. I don't.
- 1:13:48Know, I mean, Luke Wilson has also had a great career.
- 1:13:50He's very they're both very successful.
- 1:13:51Yeah, like. But it would have been really
- 1:13:53fun if Luke Wilson and Owen Wilson had been in this, had
- 1:13:56actually been brothers this. Would have been fun.
- 1:13:59This would have been better if they were actual brothers.
- 1:14:01Yeah, and not just friends who pretended to be brothers.
- 1:14:04Yeah, because sorry, but these bitches look nothing alike.
- 1:14:07Oh yeah, Oh yeah, They were brothers.
- 1:14:09They were. Pretended.
- 1:14:10They were pretending to be brothers for the back brothers.
- 1:14:13That was like their back story. That was that they were
- 1:14:16brothers. Wow.
- 1:14:17Which reminds me of like when I was a little kid and I used to
- 1:14:20like, pretend like my friends and I were siblings.
- 1:14:23We just like tell people like, oh, yeah, that's my sister.
- 1:14:26It's like, OK, but that's. What I felt like that's like all
- 1:14:29movies, right? Like it's not often that they
- 1:14:34cast actors who I'm like, oh, they look like brother and
- 1:14:36sister. Well, Owen Wilson just is has
- 1:14:38such a distinct face that you would think anyone who's related
- 1:14:43to him would also have kind of a distinct face.
- 1:14:46And we know this because his brother is also very famous, you
- 1:14:50know? And he looks like him.
- 1:14:52Then he looks like him. That part, I mean, of obviously
- 1:14:56of all the things that don't age well about this movie, that part
- 1:14:58we can get past. Yeah, that no.
- 1:15:02No, no, obviously there's never get past that.
- 1:15:05And that's the number one thing. That's the.
- 1:15:06Number one thing that didn't. Obviously, yes.
- 1:15:08The most offensive, the most horrendous.
- 1:15:11It's not the homophobia, it's not the most sexist, actually.
- 1:15:14You know what? It actually wasn't a personal
- 1:15:16affront to women that his hair was like.
- 1:15:18That Yes. Do you think that someone like
- 1:15:19Rachel McAdams, who is a goddess among us, Yeah.
- 1:15:23Truly would fall for this man. Every time they did close up
- 1:15:26shots of her face and then his face, I went.
- 1:15:30Yes, it's it's not believable. I mean, I bought that like
- 1:15:35Bradley Cooper's a piece of shit and like why she wouldn't want
- 1:15:38to be with him. All that makes sense.
- 1:15:39But that your alternative is the man that you spent 24 hours with
- 1:15:45who lied to you and. Then and then I had.
- 1:15:49No capacity of no, like, self resilience to bounce back after
- 1:15:53you rejected him. And rightly so.
- 1:15:56Yeah. Who's drank himself into a
- 1:15:58stupor for the past six months. It's not like he had to glow up
- 1:16:00in that meantime. So if this were if the roles
- 1:16:04were reversed, she would have had to, like, eat healthy, go to
- 1:16:08the gym. She would have, you know, like,
- 1:16:10get a new job, clean her house, blah, blah.
- 1:16:12He does the opposite. Yeah.
- 1:16:14And they're like, but he's the guy for you.
- 1:16:16Yeah. That's this love story.
- 1:16:19That's so. Sad.
- 1:16:20Imagine looking in the eyes of someone like Rachel McAdams and
- 1:16:23saying, yeah, this is what you deserve.
- 1:16:26You miss me? Messing with that Well ladies,
- 1:16:29what else what else do we need to discuss Let me just.
- 1:16:32Check my notes. I wrote Depression Spiral.
- 1:16:37Oh, I did like the line where Vince Vince Vaughn says the
- 1:16:42painting was a gift. Todd, I'm taking it with.
- 1:16:44Me. Oh, he takes the painting.
- 1:16:45Yeah. You know, he actually, I read it
- 1:16:47on IMDb that he did take that from production.
- 1:16:50Really. He still has it.
- 1:16:52He took the painting. He said that painting was a
- 1:16:54gift. Yeah, he said.
- 1:16:55That painting was a gift. Wow and.
- 1:16:57He took it and he took it as a memento of that time on that
- 1:17:00movie. Yep.
- 1:17:02The other thing that I don't know if this was from this movie
- 1:17:06or just a saying of the time when they are saying like lock
- 1:17:08it up, lock it up. I think Lock it up became a real
- 1:17:12lock. It up, Lock it up.
- 1:17:14Yeah. I was constantly like, oh, I
- 1:17:15we've been saying that for 20 years.
- 1:17:17Yeah, I know these all came from that movie.
- 1:17:21All credit to the writers for just being like this will carry
- 1:17:25on for. Yeah, it's a cult classic.
- 1:17:29Many, many lines. I would say like a dozen lies,
- 1:17:32like, yeah, yeah. That's the thing that's crazy,
- 1:17:35is that they don't seem funny enough to stick around, but they
- 1:17:40have. Not when I watched them this
- 1:17:42time, they did not seem. But again, like, I think it was
- 1:17:44at a time where like we didn't have like a lot of like viral
- 1:17:48things. That's true like.
- 1:17:49We didn't have a lot of. Kind of work.
- 1:17:50Or two so. Like we have on.
- 1:17:52Movies, yeah, we didn't have exposure to comedians all the
- 1:17:56time. Like that's true on TikTok and
- 1:17:58yeah. Yeah, comedians really need to
- 1:18:01be. Out more that's right, which is
- 1:18:04why listener viewer you should come to support dude IDK studios
- 1:18:10rhino Denver Co. Is this rhino?
- 1:18:14This is Rhino. I thought we were in five
- 1:18:15points. Isn't five points the same as
- 1:18:17right Hey. No.
- 1:18:18Are we in Rhino? It's.
- 1:18:18Considered five points. It's considered 5.
- 1:18:21Points. I am so sorry listener.
- 1:18:25Rhino's the other side of the tracks.
- 1:18:26Really. What tracks?
- 1:18:28The the light rail tracks. That are right there.
- 1:18:31And like the river, it's literally the others.
- 1:18:33The river north. Yeah, north of the.
- 1:18:35Wow. OK, well, my mistake, dude.
- 1:18:39IDK. Studios in Denver.

- 1:18:47you forget it. Anything that you wanna leave
- 1:18:50the listeners with, Annie. I just would like to say that I
- 1:18:56don't think this will be aged that well, but it is on the
- 1:18:58record. Get on the record.
- 1:18:59But at the same time, like, I think it is like, like Laura was
- 1:19:03saying, like it's OK to watch it and like, yeah.
- 1:19:08You won't hate. You won't.
- 1:19:09Hate the experience. It's.
- 1:19:10It's a nostalgic movie. Yeah.
- 1:19:12You know, like it didn't age well, but it is nostalgic.
- 1:19:14Yeah, yeah. But I really wanted to love it.
- 1:19:17I really I needed, I was like in between my trial weeks, I needed
- 1:19:21to law. It didn't.
- 1:19:23Allow you the way you were hoping.
- 1:19:25Same. That's tragic.
- 1:19:27Yeah. OK, so basically, listener, if
- 1:19:29you've never seen this movie before, you don't have to watch
- 1:19:32it. You probably won't have that
- 1:19:33much fun. If you want to watch it for a
- 1:19:36nostalgia, just set your expectations.
- 1:19:39In a. Reasonable place.
- 1:19:40Like, don't expect that you're gonna laugh as hard as you did,
- 1:19:44and you might laugh a little, but it's not gonna be, it's not
- 1:19:48gonna hit the same. OK.
- 1:19:50And we're we're just setting expectations here.
- 1:19:53There you go. OK.
- 1:19:54OK. OK.
- 1:19:56OK, well my gals, this was so perfect.
- 1:20:01I feel like we didn't talk enough about what we're wearing,
- 1:20:04but of course people see it. And if you're not watching this,
- 1:20:08if you're just listening to it, go ahead and go to
- 1:20:11youtube.com/add to that age well, because you're going to
- 1:20:15want to see. I actually think that that I
- 1:20:18will say on the record that the tuxedo shirt has aged well.
- 1:20:22Absolutely. Like the movie, no.
- 1:20:24But the shirt, yes. Honestly, I might wear this.
- 1:20:27I I'm gonna crop this. I'm gonna wear I Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:20:31wear it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:33No, I think it's. Cute.
- 1:20:34I think we can make Tux happen. I think we can too.
- 1:20:39OK, great. Well, listener, make Tux happen.
- 1:20:41OK, bye, bye. Bye.
