Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 2: Are insider trading days numbered?
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Bill Mark Simon Show, Live from ther Lifeback Studios.
- 0:07Speaker 2: A beautiful sunny day to day. So hey, as much
- 0:11Speaker 2: as I complain about that FIFA and that World Cup,
- 0:15Speaker 2: don't you feel great that it's gone. There's no more FIFA.
- 0:20Speaker 2: There's no more World Cup traffic closure tie ups, this well,
- 0:24Speaker 2: it's all gone. No more of those screaming fans all
- 0:28Speaker 2: over the place, they're gone. No more FIFA. It is
- 0:31Speaker 2: great now. The only thing is I'm looking at the
- 0:34Speaker 2: numbers here. The FIFA in the New York area brought
- 0:39Speaker 2: in two billion dollars in revenue. Billion with a b
- 0:45Speaker 2: two billion in revenue came into New York from FIFA
- 0:48Speaker 2: around the country. In the United States, FIFA brought in
- 0:52Speaker 2: fifteen billion. Now, I was expected to bring in eleven billion,
- 0:56Speaker 2: but it brought in fifteen billion. And that final, FIFA,
- 1:02Speaker 2: whatever the hell that was that Sunday Final Final game,
- 1:07Speaker 2: sixty eight million people watched it. You never get that
- 1:10Speaker 2: in television anymore. Never That's Oscars, Emmy's, Tony's combined times ten.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I mean, it's amazing. Sixty eight million watched the game
- 1:21Speaker 2: where nobody's scored for hour after hour after nobody is scoring,
- 1:25Speaker 2: but everybody's watching it. Hey, legionnaire's disease. Well they think
- 1:32Speaker 2: it's getting under control. Who knows it's You got eighty
- 1:35Speaker 2: seven buildings now with the water cooler tower on top
- 1:39Speaker 2: where they found legionnaire's disease, it's eighty seven. The numbers
- 1:42Speaker 2: up a little now. The criticism of Mamdani is that
- 1:48Speaker 2: his response to the legionnaires. They know what the epicenter was,
- 1:51Speaker 2: they're not saying publicly eighty seventh in Lexington. But the
- 1:56Speaker 2: response was, well, well, we'll start testing the water cooler
- 2:01Speaker 2: water in those cooling tanks. We'll start testing. Well, that
- 2:04Speaker 2: sounds maybe sounds good. But to do the test they
- 2:08Speaker 2: take a sample and to get the results back takes
- 2:10Speaker 2: two weeks. It takes a couple of weeks to get
- 2:13Speaker 2: the test results. So that's kind of useless. City council
- 2:16Speaker 2: speaker Julie Mennon and others pointing out it was the
- 2:19Speaker 2: wrong response. The response was should have been to order
- 2:23Speaker 2: the immediate disinfecting of all the water tanks on the
- 2:26Speaker 2: upper east side. Just disinfect them. Now, the way you
- 2:30Speaker 2: get this Legionaire's disease on top of a building, You
- 2:34Speaker 2: got those old you know, sometimes the most beautiful modern glass.
- 2:37Speaker 2: But on top is that old wooden petticoat junction looking
- 2:41Speaker 2: water barrel on top, and that's got water in it,
- 2:46Speaker 2: and that's still water. It doesn't move now in a
- 2:50Speaker 2: heat wave. This is where we got it. In those
- 2:52Speaker 2: heat waves. When you have a real heat wave, it
- 2:55Speaker 2: heats up that water and that's where the Legionnaire's disease
- 2:58Speaker 2: can start. That's where it's a Legionella bacteria can grow
- 3:01Speaker 2: in very very very hot, still water. So that's what happened.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Now we don't have any more heat waves on the horizon,
- 3:08Speaker 2: so we should be okay. But he should have ordered
- 3:12Speaker 2: all the buildings around that neighborhood to immediately disinfect their tanks,
- 3:16Speaker 2: not even wait for test results. Hey, you know we
- 3:19Speaker 2: always talk about these congress people senators and congressmen and
- 3:23Speaker 2: women and all the money they make with the insider
- 3:26Speaker 2: trading they're allowed to use insider trading. If you're in Congress,
- 3:30Speaker 2: you have access to all kinds of inside information. You
- 3:34Speaker 2: find out who's going to get FDA approval before it's public.
- 3:37Speaker 2: You find out testing results, or who's going to get
- 3:40Speaker 2: a big of a big government contract. So you could
- 3:44Speaker 2: start insider trading and make a fortune. And that's what
- 3:47Speaker 2: these people in Congress do. The worst is probably Nancy Pelosi,
- 3:52Speaker 2: who on a government salary suddenly is worth six hundred
- 3:55Speaker 2: million from the insider trading. You know who's really bad
- 3:58Speaker 2: that row Kana. He's like the Indian Adam Schiff. Roe Kanna,
- 4:04Speaker 2: who's another lying, thieving, rotten Trump arrangement syndrome guy on
- 4:09Speaker 2: all the Sunday shows. There he's on MSNBC roe Conna
- 4:13Speaker 2: insider trading government salary. Suddenly he's worth sixty five million dollars.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Been there two weeks, he's worth sixty five million dollars. Now,
- 4:24Speaker 2: listen to this guy. This is a real He's like
- 4:26Speaker 2: an Adam Shift, just a real liar. Roe Kanna claimed
- 4:31Speaker 2: on his social media roe Conna said, I do not
- 4:34Speaker 2: own or trade stocks. I have led the fight to
- 4:38Speaker 2: ban stock trading. I do not own or trade stocks. Well,
- 4:44Speaker 2: it turns out his household traded stocks four seven hundred
- 4:50Speaker 2: and seventy two times, almost five thousand times. Now it's
- 4:54Speaker 2: his household, so I guess what he does. He gets
- 4:57Speaker 2: the inside information. He has his wife, his cousin, and
- 5:00Speaker 2: his brother, his son puts the trades in their names.
- 5:03Speaker 2: But he did it five thousand times. So this is horrible.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Now here's the good news that well, not great news.
- 5:10Speaker 2: The House passed a set of restrictions on stock trades
- 5:16Speaker 2: stop these lawmakers from doing this restricting. It's called the
- 5:19Speaker 2: Stop Insider Trading Act. And now this is just the
- 5:23Speaker 2: House that I don't think this will pass the Senate,
- 5:26Speaker 2: so it doesn't mean much. But the bill was passed
- 5:30Speaker 2: in the House two hundred and thirty two to one
- 5:33Speaker 2: ninety eight. All Republicans voted for it, but only thirteen Democrats.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Now the Democrats will argue that the reason they were
- 5:41Speaker 2: against this bill is they and they shouldn't have done this,
- 5:44Speaker 2: but they snuck into the bill voting fraud things that
- 5:50Speaker 2: they stuck in voter ID provisions that you have to
- 5:54Speaker 2: have photo ID. So they messed up the bill by
- 5:56Speaker 2: sticking this stuff in it. But it was a great
- 6:00Speaker 2: success for the House to pass this. If it got
- 6:02Speaker 2: to the Senate, I don't think they'll pass, but it
- 6:04Speaker 2: would stop this insider trading.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Here's Mike Johnson by way of reminder, this is what
- 6:08Speaker 3: we did this week. The House Republicans passed the Clean
- 6:10Speaker 3: cr to keep the government funded responsibly, the Stop Insider
- 6:14Speaker 3: Trading Act that bans lawmakers from trading and buying individual
- 6:18Speaker 3: stocks and from abusing their office for financial gang. The
- 6:22Speaker 3: NDAA to provide a much needed pay raise for our
- 6:26Speaker 3: troops and to rebuild the arsenal of freedom.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 2: See again, that's all good stuff, but it's a problem
- 6:31Speaker 2: when you mush them all up into one bill makes
- 6:34Speaker 2: it tough for some people. Hey, blood path at Disney,
- 6:39Speaker 2: massive layoffs at Disney fired a lot of people. Looks
- 6:43Speaker 2: like a thousand people lost their jobs. This is not
- 6:46Speaker 2: the first time it's been cost cutting before at Disney.
- 6:50Speaker 2: A lot of people out. Disney Entertainment, Television, ESPN, Disney Studios, Pixar,
- 6:59Speaker 2: a lot of people go. The new CEO says, we're
- 7:02Speaker 2: building a company that's more agile, better equipped for how
- 7:07Speaker 2: the business is changing. Cost cutting. Well, hey, it's not
- 7:10Speaker 2: just them. You know, people just don't watch TV anymore.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Primetime TV people don't watch it anymore. Daytime TV, they
- 7:17Speaker 2: don't watch it anymore. You know big primetime show years ago,
- 7:24Speaker 2: you know Law and Order in its heyday, or big
- 7:26Speaker 2: primetime show, you know NYPD Blue you have twenty million
- 7:31Speaker 2: people watching now, big primetime show, two million people are watching,
- 7:36Speaker 2: so it's one tenth the audience they used to have.
- 7:38Speaker 2: So and the same thing with movies. You know, movie
- 7:40Speaker 2: theaters don't do the business they used to do much
- 7:43Speaker 2: a lot fewer movie theaters today, so it's just not
- 7:45Speaker 2: the same anymore. Hey, that weasel governor of New Jersey,
- 7:49Speaker 2: Mikey Sheryl, had to admit. Now, the president made that
- 7:54Speaker 2: speech about there was voter fraud and the recent elections
- 7:58Speaker 2: and all sorts of problems. Of course, the fake news
- 8:01Speaker 2: goes nuts. How dare he networks use their favorite phrase
- 8:05Speaker 2: without evidence? He said, without evidence. Well, there's plenty of evidence.
- 8:10Speaker 2: And yesterday the governor New Jersey, Mikey Cheryl, held a
- 8:14Speaker 2: press conference to announce there was a lot of voter
- 8:16Speaker 2: fraud in New Jersey. She admitted to like eight thousand
- 8:20Speaker 2: non citizens voting. And that's what he's admitting to. And
- 8:25Speaker 2: people think, if that's what he's admitting to, why would
- 8:28Speaker 2: she even admit to that while she's trying to get
- 8:30Speaker 2: ahead of whatever's coming. And if she's admitting to eight thousand,
- 8:34Speaker 2: that means it's probably eighty thousand. She blamed the vendor,
- 8:37Speaker 2: the software vendor said, with the fault of the software vendor,
- 8:40Speaker 2: they had this software incorrect or something. In other words,
- 8:43Speaker 2: when you go to motor vehicle, I don't know why
- 8:46Speaker 2: they well I know why they do this. When you
- 8:47Speaker 2: go to motor vehicle to get your driver's license or
- 8:50Speaker 2: your car registration automatically sign you up to vote. And
- 8:54Speaker 2: under this software, it would sign you up even if
- 8:57Speaker 2: you weren't a citizen, even if you checked off I'm
- 8:59Speaker 2: not citizen, it would register you to vote. So she
- 9:03Speaker 2: blamed the vendor in the software. Well, the vendor came
- 9:06Speaker 2: out yesterday afternoon and said that's absolutely not the case.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I mean, it was the case. But she said the
- 9:13Speaker 2: government knew about it. New Jersey knew about it. They
- 9:16Speaker 2: approved that software, they were told what was happening. They
- 9:21Speaker 2: were informed that's what was happening. So she tried to
- 9:24Speaker 2: pin it on them. At one point, she even tried
- 9:26Speaker 2: to pin it on Trump. But and one thing to
- 9:30Speaker 2: point out, this started, This whole thing started the software.
- 9:33Speaker 2: The whole deal started under Governor Phil Murphy. Another sleeve ball,
- 9:38Speaker 2: but she inherited it. Maybe that's why she was willing
- 9:41Speaker 2: to get ahead of it, because she knows it's going
- 9:42Speaker 2: to be a Phil Murphy problem. She said, she's brought
- 9:46Speaker 2: in an outside group CSG to investigate. I don't know
- 9:51Speaker 2: who CSG is, but it sounds important. It's got initials,
- 9:55Speaker 2: must be something important, but they will investigate. Hey, So,
- 9:59Speaker 2: William shatt and his daughter both announced that they had
- 10:02Speaker 2: stage four cancer. Now this is a few years ago,
- 10:05Speaker 2: and they beat It wasn't easy. It was a big fight,
- 10:09Speaker 2: but they got through stage four cancer, both of them.
- 10:12Speaker 2: And you know, I've always admired William Shatner. We have
- 10:15Speaker 2: him on the show now and then for a lot
- 10:17Speaker 2: of things. One, I mean, he's just a great guy,
- 10:19Speaker 2: a great character, but and a genius at career management.
- 10:24Speaker 2: His entire career. He just keeps going. You know, a
- 10:26Speaker 2: lot of times the guy's in a big hit series
- 10:29Speaker 2: and then can't get anything going for the next thirty years.
- 10:31Speaker 2: He's always got something going on, whether it's singing or
- 10:35Speaker 2: books or whatever. He's always got something going on. And
- 10:40Speaker 2: he's tough. He's really tough. He got through the cancer
- 10:43Speaker 2: stage four he and his daughter, and the daughter, Melanie
- 10:46Speaker 2: talked about how her father told her about how to
- 10:50Speaker 2: fight through things. It's kind of trump like, you just
- 10:52Speaker 2: no matter what you hit with, just keep fighting. But
- 10:54Speaker 2: there's the daughter.
- 10:55Speaker 5: His response was like, I'm going to be fine. You
- 10:59Speaker 5: just were luck steam roll like the way you do.
- 11:02Speaker 5: You just steamed roll through it like I'm stage five.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I don't believe I'm gonna truly.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah, just steam roll through it.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Uh.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And Shatner, you know, people said, were you're afraid. Fear
- 11:14Speaker 2: is blinding, Fear mitigates everything. Fear so it's a wall.
- 11:21Speaker 2: If you're told you're gonna die, well I better get
- 11:26Speaker 2: busy and do something. You better get busy.
- 11:29Speaker 6: No time.
- 11:30Speaker 2: But now, Yeah, it's one of the things you got
- 11:34Speaker 2: to admire about Trump, love him or hate him. The
- 11:37Speaker 2: guy is fearless. You know. They used to talk about
- 11:40Speaker 2: even Nixon's enemies. Nixon, they would say, was so tough
- 11:44Speaker 2: no matter what he what he got hit with, he'd
- 11:46Speaker 2: battle his way back. He'd pick himself off off the
- 11:49Speaker 2: canvas and fight back. And but Trump has done that
- 11:53Speaker 2: a million times more. I mean, look what this guy
- 11:56Speaker 2: went through before the other year, before the election. Look
- 11:59Speaker 2: what he went through. Gets arrested and indicted in four
- 12:03Speaker 2: different places. Can you imagine if you got arrested and indicted,
- 12:05Speaker 2: You're going on trial facing prison. You're on trial, you
- 12:10Speaker 2: got to go to court. You've been indicted fifty two.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I imagine what you would feel like, which, well, okay, imagine
- 12:17Speaker 2: if that happened on four different cities at once, all
- 12:21Speaker 2: at the same time. You're on trial and pomp Beach
- 12:23Speaker 2: for documents. You're on trial in Georgia for election this fraud,
- 12:27Speaker 2: or you're on trial in New York for a charge
- 12:29Speaker 2: nobody can still figure out. You're being sued by egen carry.
- 12:33Speaker 2: You're in four courtrooms at all at the same time.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Talk about four d chests. You're fighting four major legal
- 12:38Speaker 2: battles at once. The guy never flinched, never even blinked.
- 12:44Speaker 2: It's an amazing talent to have to be that tough
- 12:47Speaker 2: to fight through anything like that. But he did it.
- 12:51Speaker 2: You got to admire that. It's pretty impressive. Hey, the
- 12:54Speaker 2: other thing with President Trump announced they're going to do
- 12:56Speaker 2: the Trump accounts. You know, we got Social Security, which
- 13:01Speaker 2: is a system that's about to collapse. It's almost out
- 13:04Speaker 2: of money. The Trump account's a pretty good idea. When
- 13:06Speaker 2: you're born, when the baby is born a thousand dollars
- 13:10Speaker 2: government puts one thousand dollars into an account. They put
- 13:12Speaker 2: it in a real solid investment s and P five
- 13:16Speaker 2: hundred that kind of stuff, and you can't take the
- 13:19Speaker 2: money out. It just keeps compounding. And it's Warren Buffett
- 13:22Speaker 2: always says, though, best way to get rich is invested money.
- 13:25Speaker 2: That just keeps compounding. So by the time you're twenty one,
- 13:29Speaker 2: that thousand dollars could be a couple hundred, three hundred thousand, whatever.
- 13:33Speaker 2: You could use it for a college education, you could
- 13:35Speaker 2: leave it in there, it would by the time you're thirty,
- 13:38Speaker 2: it'd be a million dollars. It's a great idea. So
- 13:41Speaker 2: they started and Michael Dell is one of the big
- 13:44Speaker 2: backers of this. He donated some crazy number like one
- 13:47Speaker 2: hundred million to fund these things. But this is President
- 13:50Speaker 2: Trump on the Trump accounts.
- 13:51Speaker 7: And for decades Washington politicians gave our children absolutely nothing
- 13:56Speaker 7: but debt. But the Trump accounts were finally seeing and
- 14:00Speaker 7: ensuring that every young American gets a great start in
- 14:03Speaker 7: life and a really fair shot at the American dream,
- 14:06Speaker 7: which is what we all want.
- 14:08Speaker 2: They all aspire to that. That's this is such a
- 14:11Speaker 2: great thing. I was watching MSNBC Struggle to tell you
- 14:14Speaker 2: what's wrong with it it's so good. I think they
- 14:18Speaker 2: were tried very hard to tell you whether it's a bit,
- 14:20Speaker 2: it's a horrible thing. It's another Trump disasterday. They couldn't
- 14:24Speaker 2: quite make the case though. There's really no way to
- 14:26Speaker 2: put that down. Hey, we'll take some calls. Eight hundred
- 14:29Speaker 2: three two one zero seven ten is the number, and
- 14:33Speaker 2: make sure you follow me on Instagram. Mark Simone NYC
- 14:37Speaker 2: a Instagram, Mark Simone NYC at Instagram. Oh, well, take
- 14:42Speaker 2: some calls next eight hundred and we want some new callers.
- 14:46Speaker 2: If you haven't called before, call us eight hundred three
- 14:49Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten. Eight hundred three two one
- 14:53Speaker 2: zero seven ten.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Give Worbri said on the iHeartRadio app to hear Mark
- 14:59Speaker 1: Simone and all the war hosts in an instance, go
- 15:04Speaker 1: back to the Mark Simo show on War.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Here, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh, Bonnie
- 15:12Speaker 2: and Tom's River Bonnie. How you doing, Bonnie? Are you there?
- 15:18Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 15:19Speaker 5: Can you hear me?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah? Go ahead?
- 15:22Speaker 8: Was Donald Trump ever on with Johnny Carson? And did
- 15:26Speaker 8: Johnny Carson like him?
- 15:30Speaker 2: That's a very good question. Well, yeah, Johnny Carson loved
- 15:32Speaker 2: him because guess where Johnny Carson had an apartment in
- 15:35Speaker 2: New York Trump Tower, Trump Tower, that's right, the apartment there.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I'm trying to remember now. Of course he was on
- 15:43Speaker 2: with Letterman a many, many, many many times Carson went
- 15:47Speaker 2: off the ear ninety two. Yeah, I'll have to check
- 15:49Speaker 2: on that. I'll have to check on that. But of
- 15:51Speaker 2: course many Letterman appearances, and Letterman loved him. Everybody loved them.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Colbert loved him and was fawning all over him. Then
- 15:57Speaker 2: the day he ran for office, all of a sudden
- 15:59Speaker 2: these got hated them. But a good question. We'll check
- 16:02Speaker 2: on that. Let's go to Chris in Manhattan. Chris, how
- 16:05Speaker 2: you doing?
- 16:06Speaker 5: How you doing good?
- 16:08Speaker 6: Listen? I want to talk about il han Omar and
- 16:10Speaker 6: because we're running out of time if nothing happens.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Let me point out that Chris is a panikin everything.
- 16:18Speaker 2: He's always in panic. Where it's a disaster, everything's going
- 16:20Speaker 2: to go bad. Now what are you panicking about? Now?
- 16:23Speaker 5: Okay, what's ill hand?
- 16:25Speaker 6: Did she marry her brother or not? Is she involved
- 16:28Speaker 6: in the in the Medicare scandals? There?
- 16:30Speaker 5: I just sat on to add that she's running.
- 16:32Speaker 6: She's running on universal school meals, green new deal, cancel
- 16:36Speaker 6: school debt, abolish ice. Those are her platforms.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Yes, why is nobody going after and saying definitively that
- 16:43Speaker 5: she did not marry her brother, she did not commit.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Him aggression, which she is under investigation.
- 16:48Speaker 5: What we waiting for?
- 16:49Speaker 6: It's been so long.
- 16:51Speaker 2: You gotta stop panicking. That's the way it works with
- 16:54Speaker 2: these investigations. They take six months, eight months, they're not
- 16:57Speaker 2: three days. That's what it takes. That calm down.
- 17:00Speaker 6: Calm down, I mean, first Obama placed within the gate
- 17:08Speaker 6: where you live?
- 17:08Speaker 2: Do you have a window? All right? Look outside, it's
- 17:12Speaker 2: eighty it's Sunny's most beautiful day in the world. I
- 17:14Speaker 2: enjoy the calm down. Go in the Central Park, enjoy yourself.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Stop worrying about it. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 17:25Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 17:26Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark.
- 17:27Speaker 9: I'm doing very well.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Mark.
- 17:29Speaker 9: We know from your Steve Moore interview that there is
- 17:32Speaker 9: a shortage of the memory chips and Apple has increased
- 17:36Speaker 9: the prices. Is this going to apply to new cars?
- 17:40Speaker 9: And lastly, do we have any information on the next
- 17:43Speaker 9: generation of iPhones?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Yes, we do. A word is they are going to
- 17:49Speaker 2: do the foldable phone where there's can be the regular
- 17:52Speaker 2: phones and then the one. We unfold it and it's
- 17:54Speaker 2: twice the size of a screen. Uh, that's pretty good.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Battery life a lot longer in the new one. They're
- 18:01Speaker 2: gonna make it a little thicker. You know, usually they
- 18:03Speaker 2: make them thinner. It'sn be a little thicker. That's the
- 18:05Speaker 2: way they get a lot more battery power in there.
- 18:07Speaker 2: That's all we know so far. It's the iPhone eighteen.
- 18:10Speaker 2: It'll be out in September. Good question. Let's go to Jerry, Greenwich, Connecticut. Jerry,
- 18:15Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I'm doing well? Thank you, Mark, thank you for taking
- 18:19Speaker 4: my call.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Uh.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Jim's the lyrical from texts it claims there is six
- 18:24Speaker 4: genders with gender you see. I never know what the
- 18:28Speaker 4: gender he is?
- 18:29Speaker 2: See H Well, that question I can't answer. I don't
- 18:32Speaker 2: think he knows either. But it is six or I
- 18:34Speaker 2: thought they have twelve genders Now every time it's lgbt Q.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Now it's l g P t Q X A B
- 18:41Speaker 2: C seven.
- 18:42Speaker 4: He never declared to what gender he se.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I don't know, you really care what gender he is?
- 18:48Speaker 4: I don't care either, but you know.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Y, I don't worry about it. But when he wants
- 18:51Speaker 2: to go, when he wants to go to the restroom.
- 18:53Speaker 2: It's a real talema. He doesn't even know where to go.
- 18:55Speaker 2: It's a I mean, listen, this just gets nuttier and
- 18:58Speaker 2: nuttier and nuttier. But it's it's it's great for it's
- 19:02Speaker 2: great for for Republicans. It's just going to help them
- 19:06Speaker 2: in the fall. Let's go to uh Richard in New Jersey. Richard,
- 19:10Speaker 2: how you doing stay park?
- 19:13Speaker 5: Oh?
- 19:14Speaker 2: I was like, I like a guy.
- 19:16Speaker 8: It sounds hey. I just want to say, I just
- 19:19Speaker 8: want to say thank you. You're you're a terrific host.
- 19:21Speaker 8: And you talk about the problems with the bunker Busters
- 19:25Speaker 8: and whynot why do not you seeal off all the entrances?
- 19:28Speaker 2: Well, as I said, we're doing that.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Oh that's good, all right, it's just dinging.
- 19:34Speaker 2: And banging and what are you doing right now? That
- 19:37Speaker 2: sounds like a car on.
- 19:37Speaker 8: My way to see my ninety nine year old mother
- 19:39Speaker 8: in the hospital and I had to get the ticket
- 19:42Speaker 8: out of the boost of paper parking, so I had
- 19:46Speaker 8: to lean out of the car and it's just walk.
- 19:48Speaker 8: Start anyway on a Friday, when you take off, why
- 19:51Speaker 8: don't you get Vincent?
- 19:52Speaker 2: Well, I don't know that Vincent wants to do it.
- 19:54Speaker 2: We'll ask him. Uh, hey, where you're great, where you're parking,
- 19:59Speaker 2: you got to get a like an actual paper ticket
- 20:01Speaker 2: comes out of a machine.
- 20:02Speaker 8: I got to get a paper ticket and after paper
- 20:04Speaker 8: parking to go see somebody in the hospital.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Go figure it. I know, but you would think it
- 20:07Speaker 2: would be bluetooth everywhere. You wouldn't have to get an
- 20:09Speaker 2: actual paper ticket, you know, and thanks for calling. You
- 20:13Speaker 2: know these shopping malls where you got to pay the
- 20:15Speaker 2: park and you got to get a ticket and then
- 20:17Speaker 2: or if you buy something, they'll stamp it and then
- 20:20Speaker 2: you got to go out and pay it a toll.
- 20:22Speaker 2: But these shopping malls, get rid of that. All these
- 20:26Speaker 2: malls are empty. They're desperate for business. Stop charging people
- 20:29Speaker 2: to park in there. It's not even the money, it's
- 20:30Speaker 2: just a waiting in line to get out. Stop it
- 20:33Speaker 2: at those shopping malls. Just in fact. You know what,
- 20:37Speaker 2: We'll give you five dollars if you come to the mall.
- 20:40Speaker 2: That would be better. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent.
- 20:43Speaker 6: How you doing, Good morning, Mark Buck. I would gladly
- 20:46Speaker 6: host the show for a day. I'd even join after
- 20:49Speaker 6: and say, Mack, come on, tell the truth. They sent
- 20:53Speaker 6: you to new iPhone eighteen to try out right.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Nope, yet not yet.
- 20:58Speaker 6: All well, next month before you mentioned that sixty eight
- 21:02Speaker 6: million people watched the soccer game in the United States,
- 21:06Speaker 6: probably worldwide over three hundred million because all of my
- 21:11Speaker 6: friends in Europe, in Italy and elsewhere were watching the game,
- 21:16Speaker 6: and they also had money on the game. But unfortunately
- 21:20Speaker 6: for the viewers here, that was part of Spain strategy.
- 21:24Speaker 6: They knew Argentina was a strong team, so what they
- 21:28Speaker 6: decided to do was not let Argentina get the ball
- 21:32Speaker 6: and just here and there take opportunistic shot gold shots.
- 21:37Speaker 6: That was their strategy.
- 21:38Speaker 2: You know, But visit, what kind of game is this
- 21:40Speaker 2: where three hours nobody scores? What kind of game is that?
- 21:43Speaker 6: I look, Mark, all of my friends said the same thing,
- 21:47Speaker 6: and all of them unfortunately lost money because they thought
- 21:52Speaker 6: that Argentina was going to pull it out of the
- 21:55Speaker 6: hat at the last minute. But you're right, Mark, that
- 21:58Speaker 6: was one of the most boring games I have I
- 22:02Speaker 6: have ever seen. The best World Cup was in twenty
- 22:06Speaker 6: oh six between Italy and France, where when you're told
- 22:10Speaker 6: the time, there was even some fisticuffs on the field.
- 22:14Speaker 6: Little fighting gave me a like American hockey. That's what
- 22:17Speaker 6: we want to see.
- 22:18Speaker 2: That's good, Vincent, great point. Thanks for explaining all that
- 22:22Speaker 2: to us. Hey, when we come back, Charlie Gasparino will
- 22:24Speaker 2: be with us. He's got a lot to say about
- 22:26Speaker 2: Mom Donnie New York Business. We'll get to that next
- 22:30Speaker 2: on seven to ten.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Wo R It's more Mark the March, Simonia. I'm wr well.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Charlie Gasprino the best business reporter in the world. And Hey,
- 22:43Speaker 2: make sure you get his book, Go Woke, Go Broke.
- 22:46Speaker 2: You'll love this book, big best seller, Go Woke, Go
- 22:49Speaker 2: Broke by Charlie Gasprina. Course you can read all his columns.
- 22:51Speaker 2: You can watch them all over television, Fox Business uh
- 22:55Speaker 2: and FoxBusiness dot Com. You can get his columns there.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Charlie Gasparino, you doing good?
- 23:01Speaker 5: What's happening? Mark?
- 23:03Speaker 2: I don't know? You tell me? Uh that Go Woke,
- 23:05Speaker 2: Go Broke is a great book. Do we need to
- 23:08Speaker 2: send a copy to everybody in New York and remind
- 23:10Speaker 2: them of what could happen with Mom Donnie?
- 23:13Speaker 5: Oh? I mean this is I mean Mondanni unfortunately is
- 23:17Speaker 5: beyond woke. I mean this is pretty much hardline socialism, communism.
- 23:22Speaker 5: I don't you know it sounds like it sounds like overly.
- 23:27Speaker 5: Uh you know, I'm being I'm being like sort of
- 23:30Speaker 5: too much here when I call them a communist? Am
- 23:33Speaker 5: I really? I mean? Am I? Am I over? Am
- 23:35Speaker 5: I fustraating? This what he's trying to do here? What
- 23:39Speaker 5: he says, how we how we promote certain things is
- 23:42Speaker 5: idiocy with net Nyahu? He wants to rest them. Is
- 23:46Speaker 5: this like this this guy has missed the third world
- 23:50Speaker 5: is wrapped up in a smile, and it's it's actually
- 23:54Speaker 5: quite scary.
- 23:55Speaker 2: But all the great business leaders of New York, you know,
- 23:57Speaker 2: all these guys, what is their strategy? Just wait a min.
- 24:01Speaker 5: Remember they're so rich and they're so diversified. You know,
- 24:05Speaker 5: it doesn't you know, what he does almost doesn't matter
- 24:09Speaker 5: to these guys, right, I mean when it comes to
- 24:11Speaker 5: just from a personal standpoint, they all have tons of security.
- 24:15Speaker 5: They don't rely on the cops that much. They have
- 24:18Speaker 5: homes in Florida, you know they they or wherever you know,
- 24:22Speaker 5: you know, Jackson Hole, you know that they're there, So
- 24:27Speaker 5: it doesn't really matter there. Their companies have diversified a
- 24:31Speaker 5: lot out of New York already, So some of this
- 24:34Speaker 5: is not really They're they're they're sort of shielded from
- 24:38Speaker 5: some of this. Obviously, they have big presence here in
- 24:40Speaker 5: New York. Still, it still is what it is. But
- 24:45Speaker 5: you know, so they look at this as playing a
- 24:47Speaker 5: long game. I think one of the problems they have
- 24:50Speaker 5: is that they they've been playing the long game now
- 24:52Speaker 5: for a long time. And what they haven't realized is
- 24:55Speaker 5: that the Democratic Socialists the Communists have actually taken over
- 24:59Speaker 5: government in many ways. You know, they're all in Albany,
- 25:03Speaker 5: you know, they control they control the state legislature more
- 25:05Speaker 5: more or less. They basically tell Governor Hope, who's supposed
- 25:08Speaker 5: to be a moderate, what to do, and she does it.
- 25:11Speaker 5: And now they have a perch in New York City
- 25:13Speaker 5: and it's you know, in the mayor in Gracie Mansion.
- 25:17Speaker 5: And it's pretty scary. And I don't know what to
- 25:22Speaker 5: do because I don't think there's a solution other than leaving.
- 25:27Speaker 5: To be honest with you, I just don't think when
- 25:29Speaker 5: you import as many people as we imported in this country,
- 25:32Speaker 5: and that critically stated, and that that domicile here in
- 25:35Speaker 5: New York from the Third World, you know, socialism and
- 25:38Speaker 5: communism is kind of you know, what they what they're
- 25:42Speaker 5: used to, and of course they want benefits. And those
- 25:45Speaker 5: people are start you know, are now voting their citizens,
- 25:48Speaker 5: and so they've changed the political dynamic here. I mean,
- 25:52Speaker 5: we have a lot of third world people in this
- 25:55Speaker 5: city and that is the that is and this is
- 25:58Speaker 5: what they what they want, and Mondami is preaching to them.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Maybe you combine them with these uh you know white
- 26:05Speaker 5: lefties that that come from all over the country. It's
- 26:08Speaker 5: the same it's the same thing.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but you can't talk about leaving. That's uh, I mean,
- 26:12Speaker 2: that's gonna make the whole thing worse. That's what happens.
- 26:15Speaker 2: If people leave. You got to stay and fight it.
- 26:19Speaker 5: Well, if you know, listen, I've read some sue you
- 26:24Speaker 5: don't stay and fight when you're when you have you know,
- 26:26Speaker 5: astronomical odds against you. You cut and run and fight
- 26:30Speaker 5: for another day. The best way to fight this, I
- 26:32Speaker 5: think is to leave. I don't think it is to stay,
- 26:36Speaker 5: because I just think it's not that you're you're just again,
- 26:39Speaker 5: you're just you know, pushing against it. An unmovable object
- 26:43Speaker 5: right now, which is an electorate that is so far
- 26:46Speaker 5: to the left that you know, we can sit here
- 26:48Speaker 5: and complain about it. And and by the way, it's
- 26:51Speaker 5: good for your ratings. You know, this is you know,
- 26:53Speaker 5: Yo and and Fox and and TV is often a
- 26:56Speaker 5: niche business that you want to you know, you want
- 26:59Speaker 5: to attract certain people. But you know, just the trend
- 27:02Speaker 5: is not your friend here. So I'm very typtomistic here.
- 27:08Speaker 5: And and on top of it all, you know, you
- 27:10Speaker 5: do have a propaganda machine at work here in most
- 27:13Speaker 5: of the media, I mean, Mondmi is proposing some of
- 27:16Speaker 5: the real dumbest stuff in the world, except in the
- 27:19Speaker 5: New York Post, my newspaper. What who's covering one?
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the problem.
- 27:25Speaker 5: What is the Times doing? I mean, what is the
- 27:28Speaker 5: Times just kind of cheering him on? Would you get you?
- 27:32Speaker 5: Did you read that softball interview? Yeah? I mean it
- 27:36Speaker 5: was the dumbest thing in the world. He couldn't define
- 27:38Speaker 5: middle working class. She barely pressed him on it. He couldn't.
- 27:42Speaker 5: He said he was gonna arrest net Yeah when he
- 27:44Speaker 5: has when Yeah, is a diplomatic immunity. I mean even
- 27:47Speaker 5: I know that, And I'm just in order and just
- 27:51Speaker 5: and then he then he talks about capital flight. I
- 27:53Speaker 5: found that very interesting. There hasn't been capital flight yet, well,
- 27:56Speaker 5: if he knows anything about capital flight, it's like bankruptcy, right,
- 28:00Speaker 5: it happens gradually then all of a sudden, and you
- 28:03Speaker 5: know there is there is, there are warning signs for
- 28:06Speaker 5: capital flight right now. Obviously capital is leaving. People are leaving. Now,
- 28:11Speaker 5: you're going to reach it at some point it gets
- 28:13Speaker 5: so bad where there's a tipping point where you can't
- 28:14Speaker 5: pay your bills, and that could happen. You see it
- 28:17Speaker 5: in UNI bond prices. By what muni bond prices of
- 28:20Speaker 5: New York City UNI bonds should be going up if
- 28:23Speaker 5: there was a normal guy raising taxes and doing whatever,
- 28:26Speaker 5: you know, keeping New York City government big as it's been.
- 28:28Speaker 5: You know, this has been a socialist government. You know,
- 28:31Speaker 5: even when Rudy was running things, it wasn't exactly free
- 28:33Speaker 5: market capitalism. You know, you should be people should be
- 28:38Speaker 5: flocking to New York City bonds because they're triple tax free. Right,
- 28:42Speaker 5: we're not getting that. I'm looking at it. Week by week.
- 28:44Speaker 5: We're starting to get spikes and yields, which means the
- 28:47Speaker 5: prices are going down. That means less people are buying
- 28:49Speaker 5: these things. And that I listen, I checked this week
- 28:53Speaker 5: to week and then you know it's the long term
- 28:56Speaker 5: you got to look at. But you know, since he's
- 28:57Speaker 5: been off in office, bond prices, vond yields have been up.
- 29:01Speaker 5: They stabilized a little bit when he bounced the budget,
- 29:04Speaker 5: even if it was a you know, crappy balance it
- 29:06Speaker 5: with state aid and some gimmick with detention fund. But
- 29:11Speaker 5: you know, it's stabilized. And now it's back to you know,
- 29:14Speaker 5: you see rising yields, lower prices. Rising yields means people
- 29:18Speaker 5: are demanding more return for their bonds. That means the
- 29:21Speaker 5: price is going down because they're worried about, you know,
- 29:26Speaker 5: what this guy is doing. And again it should be
- 29:28Speaker 5: going up because he's raising taxes, but they're worried about
- 29:31Speaker 5: the other side. You know, what type of governments is
- 29:34Speaker 5: he doing? It will ultimately be able to afford it?
- 29:37Speaker 5: Is it worth lending the city money for ten years?
- 29:40Speaker 5: That's kind of the calculation that people are doing because
- 29:44Speaker 5: the trend in New York City politically isn't just not good.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, all who is the.
- 29:51Speaker 5: Loyal Republican opposition to Mondami right now?
- 29:55Speaker 2: Well, the best thing on the horizon, Bruce Blake, when
- 29:57Speaker 2: who's got a chance to be elected governor, wouldn't that
- 30:00Speaker 2: be a turning point?
- 30:01Speaker 5: Yeah? He would be great. He would be great. But
- 30:03Speaker 5: I you know, I was talking to Governor DeSantis about
- 30:06Speaker 5: this and we both agree. Bruce Brake Blakeman's a really
- 30:09Speaker 5: smart guy and he's level headed. You know, he's clearly
- 30:12Speaker 5: not a far right winger or anything like that. He's
- 30:14Speaker 5: a typical conservative New York conservative. And with DeSantis told me,
- 30:21Speaker 5: and it kind of brings true, is a lot of
- 30:23Speaker 5: tax payer players. The payers have left and they're moving
- 30:27Speaker 5: to Florida, Carolina, And so his base has been eroded
- 30:33Speaker 5: because of this nonsense. So I I just he has
- 30:35Speaker 5: an uphill battle. Listen, I hope he wins. You know,
- 30:39Speaker 5: I'm praying for him to win. I know Bruce a
- 30:41Speaker 5: little bit. He's a smart guy. He'd be a great governor. Yeah,
- 30:45Speaker 5: and he'd be he'd be the loyal opposition to Montdommie.
- 30:48Speaker 5: But like on a city level, though, who do we
- 30:51Speaker 5: have we have nobody?
- 30:53Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, you're speaking of that. We're talking Charlie Gasp's
- 30:57Speaker 2: speaking to DeSantis. He's term limited out. Now what his
- 31:00Speaker 2: next move? Where do you think he goes?
- 31:02Speaker 5: You know, I did ask him that I interviewed him
- 31:05Speaker 5: at the Milken Conference back in May. Uh, you know,
- 31:10Speaker 5: everything's up in the air, you know. He you know,
- 31:13Speaker 5: he didn't rule out a presidential run. By the way,
- 31:18Speaker 5: the guy is such a great operational governor, right, he
- 31:22Speaker 5: knows how to run. You could see him being on
- 31:26Speaker 5: any board of any major company. Would watch this guy.
- 31:29Speaker 5: I mean, he can make a few bucks. He's in
- 31:30Speaker 5: government most of his life, most of his professional life,
- 31:34Speaker 5: I should say. But you know there's always rumors about
- 31:38Speaker 5: him being on the Supreme Court Supreme Court. Really so
- 31:43Speaker 5: the guy. The guy's really smart. I mean, sit down
- 31:47Speaker 5: with five minutes.
- 31:48Speaker 6: I mean he's.
- 31:50Speaker 5: Question before you even I mean, he just knows stuff.
- 31:53Speaker 5: He's really sharp. He's Yeah, Supreme Court might not be
- 31:56Speaker 5: for him because you know you can see his eyes.
- 31:59Speaker 5: He's incredibly ambitious. Yeah, I mean I just saw it, like,
- 32:02Speaker 5: here'sing this to this guy. This guy is really ambitious.
- 32:06Speaker 5: But you know, I think everything's kind of on the table,
- 32:09Speaker 5: including running for president.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Again.
- 32:10Speaker 5: I you know, he didn't. The problem with him is
- 32:14Speaker 5: that you know, you know, he doesn't get this stick.
- 32:18Speaker 5: Although he's getting better at you know, in Trump, so
- 32:21Speaker 5: it's not easy, and this was his first time before
- 32:26Speaker 5: the in the national spotlight. But he would make a
- 32:28Speaker 5: great president and just he knows how to run things,
- 32:32Speaker 5: and he's really smart. You know. I think it's all
- 32:36Speaker 5: on the table. And you know, the world's is oyster.
- 32:39Speaker 5: He's what forty five or something? It was forty, isn't he?
- 32:42Speaker 2: Yeah? So, and what happens to Florida? You need a
- 32:48Speaker 2: good governor to continue the success they've had down there.
- 32:52Speaker 5: Well, I think they have. They have a good bench there.
- 32:55Speaker 5: I mean, you know, one of the interesting things that
- 32:57Speaker 5: all these Southerners complain about is that when Republicans, when
- 33:03Speaker 5: Northerners moved to the South, they turned the state more liberal,
- 33:09Speaker 5: just the opposite. Well, clearly in Florida, just the opposite happened, right,
- 33:12Speaker 5: It became more conservative when New Yorkers ran moved down there,
- 33:16Speaker 5: because these were the conservative New Yorkers that went down there.
- 33:20Speaker 5: So I think they do have a good bench and
- 33:23Speaker 5: they you know, Byron Donald is a smart guy. I
- 33:25Speaker 5: know him. I think he's running for governor. Yeah, I
- 33:28Speaker 5: don't know who who DeSantis is endorsed, to be honestors,
- 33:32Speaker 5: you haven't paid attention to it, but I know Byron's
- 33:35Speaker 5: a smart guy, he's a conservative, he's no wimp. You know.
- 33:40Speaker 5: I think he filled the Anthusis shoes just fine.
- 33:44Speaker 4: I think.
- 33:45Speaker 2: All right. Well, Charlie Gasprino, great stuff as always. And hey,
- 33:48Speaker 2: everybody get his book, Go Walk.
- 33:50Speaker 5: Go Broke.
- 33:50Speaker 2: It's one of my favorite books. Go Woke, Go Broke.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Read this column. You'd be on these on Fox Business
- 33:56Speaker 2: Network all the time. Does great work there. And make
- 34:00Speaker 2: sure you fall on Twitter. He's a great tweeter. And
- 34:03Speaker 2: Charlie Gasparino, thanks for being with us.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Okay, you got it, Mark talk you soon, all right?
- 34:08Speaker 2: Take care. Hey, coming up at noon today, Buck and
- 34:12Speaker 2: Clay do a great show every day twelve noon. Then
- 34:15Speaker 2: you got three o'clock, the most listen to radio show
- 34:18Speaker 2: in America, Sean Hannity. And you know you can hear
- 34:21Speaker 2: Curtis Sliwa every morning now, Curtisliwa, Larry Mente. They're here
- 34:26Speaker 2: every morning six to ten on seven ten WR now.
- 34:32Speaker 1: More Marks alone on seventen WR.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Wow, around of time. But hey, it's going to be
- 34:39Speaker 2: a beautiful day to day. This is going to be
- 34:41Speaker 2: the finest part of summer twenty twenty six. You're gonna
- 34:45Speaker 2: have four days in a row of eighty degrees and
- 34:48Speaker 2: sunny today, tomorrow, and the whole weekend eighty and sunny
- 34:53Speaker 2: for four days. Enjoy it. Now. The bad news is
- 34:56Speaker 2: giants heading to training camp. Football training camp beginning already,
- 35:01Speaker 2: so that's the first sign of summer ending. Hey, i'll
- 35:05Speaker 2: be off tomorrow. I take a lot of Fridays off
