  had a bit of a vent session before starting, so you know, sorry

  talk about the Sanji thing right out of the gate, right like you know

  I do, because it's I actually said something like I think that any time

  we're dealing with like the invisible man, there's always the oh, you could

  like sneak up on naked women thing. And it turns out that Sanji was
• 2:09
  like harboring a secret hope that he could get the clear clear fruit as well.

  And he has this like monologue where he's explaining how Absalom stole his dream,
• 2:22
  and he's trying he is trying to make it sound like he wanted it
• 2:30
  for a real all truistic reasons for the good of the world, and then
• 2:38
  every time he starts to talk, the words nude girls interrupt the flow of
• 2:46
  speech and reveal his actual intent and what he really dreamed about. Because look,
• 2:55
  I'm not saying that there's nothing you could do with invisibility to make the
• 3:00
  world a better place. Like I'm sure there are things you could do,
• 3:05
  but it is a really tricky power to utilize in that way. And so
• 3:10
  when you're thinking about, like, oh, I want this specifically because I
• 3:14
  thought of a million ways to use it, I was sort of like,
• 3:17
  what do you mean. So once he blurts out nude girls as I,
• 3:21
  oh, okay, this all makes sense now, and the fact that he
• 3:27
  turns out to be like, we know he's a creep in his way,
• 3:31
  but he has never felt like exactly that kind of creep. I'm a little
• 3:36
  disappointed, but I also have to confess that it's a pretty funny bit.
• 3:40
  Like you know, if I there's a for those who are not aware of
• 3:46
  Reductress, it's basically like a feminist the Onion, And they had a headline
• 3:53
  one time that was woman sets aside her feminist viewpoints for thirty minutes to enjoy
• 4:01
  television show, which is genuinely like what you have to do a lot at
• 4:06
  the time is you've just got to shut off the critical part of your brain
• 4:13
  in order to let yourself enjoy a thing occasionally. And in this instance,
• 4:20
  if I decide to just look past the issues of consent and violating privacy and
• 4:29
  whatnot, if we're just going to dance right past that. The fact that
• 4:34
  Sanji was harboring a secret dream of getting this fruit for himself and this is
• 4:40
  something that he blames Absalom for is pretty good. But also the fact that
• 4:46
  he is out here to come at Absalom because of what Absalom is doing to
• 4:53
  Nami with this sanctimonious sort of energy. And then finding out that he he
• 5:00
  would have probably been doing the same things in a bigger sense. Not that
• 5:05
  Sanji would necessarily carry a woman away to try and forcefully marry her. I
• 5:10
  don't think he would. But the thing is about this kind of power,
• 5:15
  which is a story of the invisible Man, is that you first get this
• 5:18
  power and you're just like, oh, this is kind of cool, and
• 5:21
  then you get high on the fact that nobody can do jack shit to you.
• 5:30
  And thus part of me worries that Sanji, were he able to get
• 5:38
  his hands on that fruit, would have devolved into becoming this type of person
• 5:43
  eventually perhaps, And I don't like that thought, and I don't want to
• 5:45
  believe it, but I don't think it's out of the question. Which in
• 5:50
  the end, when Sanji is like, you know what, I actually am
• 5:55
  glad that I didn't get it. What I was hoping was that he was
• 6:00
  gonna say something like that, like it you know, I see what it
• 6:01
  did to you, and I don't want to experience that. But sadly no,
• 6:09
  his conclusion is I can peep just fine the way I am. It's
• 6:19
  such a shame, you guys, that I didn't watch this years and years
• 6:26
  ago. Because without the context that bothers me so much about this, that
• 6:32
  moment would have been so funny, you know what I mean, Like I
• 6:36
  can tell when I'm like that joke hits, even though now it really doesn't.
• 6:44
  But ah, that was almost like really good. And I so this
• 6:50
  is just one of those those sections where I'm like, I don't know how
• 6:57
  you update this, how you make this better today and still manage to keep
• 7:00
  it funny. But I will just address the fact that I can understand why
• 7:11
  people writing this who do not appreciate the concept of consent or you know,
• 7:16
  violating privacy would find it funny. I get it, and it just it
• 7:25
  just fell flat for me. But I really wish it hadn't because I could
• 7:30
  just ah, I can almost grasp it, I can almost enjoy it,
• 7:34
  really enjoy it, you know what I'm saying. So anyway, that is
• 7:41
  I really wanted to talk about that immediately, but I've got to back up
• 7:46
  a little bit and talk about the zombie generals are down in a Flash,
• 7:49
  which is the first of these three episodes. So when we pick this one
• 7:55
  back up, we are with us up in that room with Pirona and she
• 8:03
  attempts a quadruple negative attack, and all of her old animals are hanging around
• 8:13
  waiting to see him get taken down, and he stumbles and he almost falls,
• 8:18
  but he doesn't quite and then everybody looks around and realizes us up has
• 8:28
  robbed the negative ghosts of their will to live, and they are folded over
• 8:37
  and shaking and sad. You guys, this is I just love this so
• 8:50
  much. I love it so much. The last episode, with the fact
• 8:56
  that he wasn't affected by it, was already so good, but the fact
• 9:00
  that he is such a pessimist that the negativity ghosts can't handle him is truly
• 9:09
  genius. I love it. I love it. I love it. I
• 9:13
  love it. I love it. I really really do. Like I just
• 9:18
  I think, especially lately after having done a like, you know, fifteen
• 9:24
  minute long vent session before recording, everybody's got so much bad shit happening to
• 9:30
  them lately, that the feeling of being able to like harness your pessimism and
• 9:37
  your negativity as a weapon just feels like the one way to maybe make some
• 9:46
  forward progress when you've been feeling otherwise like you are screwed and you don't have
• 9:52
  any weapons left in your arsenal because you're real tired. So this is just
• 9:58
  delightful to me and and even better at least this is something that I am
• 10:05
  really curious about, like what other people's experience were if they're not watching the
• 10:11
  dub. But for me, the dub has some really excellent dialogue where the
• 10:20
  animals are looking at him and one of them says, what the hell is
• 10:26
  this guy? The patron saint of pessimism or something, and Usap says,
• 10:31
  not anyone in this entire world can defeat me in negativity and one of the
• 10:41
  animals responds, what a terrible source of self esteem? Oh my god.
• 10:50
  I just lot like, just yeah, you can't beat me. I am
• 10:56
  number one at hating everything, wanting to die and thinking I'm a worm.
• 11:03
  I mean, is this not a mood or what? Like? Come on?
• 11:07
  And then Musa starts to do this weird laugh and I'm like watching him,
• 11:13
  like why is he because he's sort of hopping when he's laughing, and
• 11:18
  I thought the camera was just pulling away from him. And then all of
• 11:24
  a sudden, one of them says, that's weird. He seems smaller all
• 11:30
  of a sudden, and another zombie says Oh, I think it's because he's
• 11:33
  backing away and he was really hoping that they wouldn't notice that and he'd be
• 11:39
  able to just bail. But now he has to do special attacks Salt Star,
• 11:45
  so he uses his Salt Star. I was hoping that he got all
• 11:48
  of them. He did not. He got like five of them. And
• 11:50
  then Perona, who by the way, collapsed as well when he got the
• 11:58
  ghosts, she was affected as well. So she gets up and he says,
• 12:03
  stay away from me, all of you, Saltstar, and she yells
• 12:07
  it's salt watch out, and the zombies all put their hands over their mouths
• 12:15
  and oos up runs away, yelling, oh why I have to call out
• 12:20
  Salt Star. Which is the thing that I find really weird about this,
• 12:28
  and I understand the need for it in the show, Like if you're going
• 12:35
  to try and establish the certain like techniques that people have to fight, and
• 12:39
  you want to have a moment where they get to see a new technique that
• 12:45
  they haven't before, and they recognize it's about to be a new technique because
• 12:48
  it's they've heard the names of the others and this is an unfamiliar name,
• 12:52
  and you want that drama. I get having people say things out loud,
• 12:58
  but I wish some of it were more like under their breath. And it
• 13:03
  depends on the character. Some characters do kind of do it like that where
• 13:07
  they just sort of whisper to themselves and it is not about the other person.
• 13:13
  But with us up in particular, I have felt for a long time
• 13:18
  like, if you're a prop based fighter, screaming out what you're about to
• 13:26
  use as your weapon doesn't feel like a smart way to go, you know
• 13:31
  what I'm saying. So yeah, I just I just was like thinking,
• 13:37
  why you're yelling salt Star? And he yelled at the first time, and
• 13:43
  they didn't cover their mouths, so I guess they needed Pirona to like mention
• 13:48
  it or else they wouldn't have noticed. But it did occur to me like
• 13:52
  he's screaming salt Star and nobody seems to be So I was glad that that
• 13:56
  wound up coming up and being something that counted against him. Let's see Cractice.

  Oh but yeah, that moment when Sanji becomes worse straw Hat. Yeah,
• 14:09
  Gabriella not gonna lie. I was expecting more rage, you know,
• 14:11
  Gabriella, I just don't have it in me today, Maybe on another day,
• 14:16
  you know, I would have been able to like muster some more.
• 14:20
  I think the fact, I think that like the shower scene with Nami really
• 14:26
  just took the cake in such a way that even with this, with the
• 14:31
  reveal that Sanjie is such a creep, at least it didn't involve like a
• 14:41
  hugely sexualized scene with Nami or another woman where they're being like oggled by the
• 14:48
  camera so to speak. I always say the camera, even though I recognize
• 14:52
  this is animated, so that's not really how this works, but you get
• 14:54
  what I mean. I think the fact that they sort of like used Nami
• 15:01
  the way they did in that scene made it so much worse for me.
• 15:05
  So at least this it's just like a concept of how awful Sangi is,
• 15:11
  but we don't have to watch it, so it doesn't quite hit as bad
• 15:16
  for me. Usup is my role model this arc, making depression his superpower.

  Yeah. Amen, so, and I love that us Up is really
• 15:26
  frustrated at the fact that these zombies keep interfering because he is like getting used
• 15:31
  to the fact that maybe he isn't useless. You know, he's finally able
• 15:35
  to do something to protect the rest of the team and buy them some time
• 15:41
  so that they can run off. And he is proud of himself for the
• 15:48
  first time with this team in a while. Not to say like that he
• 15:52
  hasn't done good things for them before, but frankly, the times that he
• 15:56
  has been in like in a position to really do a lot, he has
• 16:07
  been playing the role of sniper King, and so it feels a little bit
• 16:12
  different to me when he is just himself and that's not in the role of
• 16:18
  sniper King. Pretty much everybody knew who he was other than Lufy and Chopper,
• 16:25
  but he was still attempting to hide whether or not everyone else knew who
• 16:30
  he was. He was still like feeling such shame that he was literally covering
• 16:37
  his face because he felt so weird about being around everybody else. And now
• 16:42
  the team has made up, he has apologized, and the whole thing is
• 16:49
  a really different energy. So the fact that he gets to like throw himself
• 16:55
  in front of them for a change instead of the other way around. I
• 17:00
  am just really like, I hope that things wind up working out, because
• 17:07
  the zombies are chasing him and he thought he had his chance to really,
• 17:14
  like, you know, make an impression, and he eventually gets them out
• 17:22
  of the way in a really delightful scene where he fires a pepper star and
• 17:29
  gets them all to sneeze and like take their hands off of their mouths and
• 17:34
  then fire salt into their mouths again, so that in the end we just
• 17:40
  have him and Perona and what is his name, Kukusa. I'm trying to
• 17:47
  remember the name of the bear. But and there's something very funny as well
• 17:52
  about the fact that the person that he is up against, Perona, by
• 17:59
  the time us Up, is like coming after her. She wants no parts
• 18:03
  of this. She is like, Kumasi, thank you, Demian. Oh
• 18:10
  yeah. Gabrielle says it also works so well considering the mental state he was
• 18:12
  in last arc. That's this is him being the only one able to do
• 18:17
  this and it's special. Yeah. Agree, But yeah, Kumassy is like
• 18:23
  chasing him, and he is chasing Pirona, but he Pirona doesn't want to
• 18:29
  be fighting anymore. She's done and literally is asking Kumasy to like get us
• 18:34
  Up away from her. She isn't even really, I don't even feel like
• 18:40
  the way she's talking to Kumassy is like you've got to kill him. It's
• 18:44
  more like, can't you can't you distract him long enough that I can get
• 18:52
  out of here and I don't have to deal with him anymore, which,
• 18:55
  you know, that just feels very different, and the fact that Usap tends
• 19:02
  to be the one that runs away freaking out and tends to be the one
• 19:10
  that reaches a certain point in a fight and it's just like, Okay,
• 19:14
  well I'm done, so can we just wrap now? Because I personally feel
• 19:18
  like I don't want to do this anymore, and he's dealing with somebody who's
• 19:22
  doing the same thing. I really do enjoy that. And I also really
• 19:26
  like the fact that that Kumassy is like chasing us up toward Parona, so
• 19:37
  he's running from Kumassy. But there's a vibe like maybe USAP may not have
• 19:42
  continued to pursue this whole fight if he weren't being forced into chasing Pirona almost
• 19:51
  against his will, and I don't really think that's true. I feel like
• 19:55
  he probably would have felt an obligation to finish things with Pirona. But you
• 20:00
  know, if she was like, I don't want to fight anymore, I'm
• 20:03
  leaving, I could see him having a moment of like, oh, well
• 20:07
  good, maybe we don't have to fight, maybe we're done. And I
• 20:11
  think that probably in the end he would be like, well, I just
• 20:15
  can't you know, she's gonna go and re havoc somewhere else. I have
• 20:18
  to stop her. But now Kumasi is like and also the fact that Pirona
• 20:23
  wants Kumbassy to like get us Up away from her, but is literally chasing
• 20:27
  us Up toward her, which is extremely frustrating for her. This whole thing
• 20:32
  is just honestly, actually pretty funny. So finally he manages to take Kumassy
• 20:37
  down. It takes a little bit. Like Kumassy he thinks that he got
• 20:41
  him down, and this bear just like rises up again after us Up says
• 20:47
  something about like wow, for a stuffed bear, you wouldn't really think he'd
• 20:49
  be able to pack that much of a punch. And when Kumbassy stands up,
• 20:52
  he's so mad. But us Up is like that was a compliment,
• 20:56
  what the hell? But in the in the very end end of like the
• 21:00
  third episode, Pirona is literally like floating outside of the building, like right
• 21:10
  outside a window, so that he can't catch up to her exactly. He
• 21:15
  still has the weapons, of course that are like ranged weapons, so he
• 21:19
  could get her from where he's at. But the whole, like the way
• 21:26
  that it ends is a sort of standoff moment where she makes a threat and
• 21:30
  he kind of freaks out because it really seems like she is about to completely
• 21:34
  unleash, and I am wondering if there is anything that she can do,
• 21:41
  because you know, she's flying. That's all well and good, that's very
• 21:45
  intimidating. Flying is not a small superpower. But you've tried a lot of
• 21:53
  your tricks already and they haven't had all that much of an effect. What
• 21:56
  have you got left up your sleeve at this point? Well, say so,
• 22:00
  all right, let's go to Frankie and Zoro. We have a little
• 22:07
  bit of the two of them kind of talking about the situation and the fact
• 22:11
  that USUP is covering for them, and we jump pretty quickly from there into
• 22:17
  Brooke, who is fighting his shadow zombie and they have this like sword fight,
• 22:23
  one of those ones where it's just like the frantic moving around of a
• 22:29
  blade, but there's no real technique and there's nothing that you can follow as
• 22:33
  a viewer to like be impressed by, if that makes sense. Like I.
• 22:41
  It's not to say that I am not impressed, because I get the
• 22:45
  impression that this is actually like kind of a bad, badass fight. But
• 22:52
  you don't see any sword strokes. You just see a bunch of like hanging
• 22:56
  cuts in midair as their move really quickly, and eventually I felt so bad.

  Brooke gets like knocked on his ass very literally, and his skull is
• 23:11
  all broken, He's missing teeth, he looks like shit, frankly, and
• 23:18
  this dude is like just laid down and die with some dignity. But Brooke
• 23:26
  won't do it. He stands up, well now he sits up. He
• 23:30
  does not stand up and is kind of doing the Captain America. I could
• 23:36
  do this all day. Uma, for his part, is so fixated on
• 23:42
  taking away Brooks's fro. I just really resent. That's the only way I
• 23:53
  can say this. I really resent how much Ruma wants to humiliate Brooke.

  You know, it's one thing just wanting to beat him, which I already
• 24:07
  am kind of like, bo why dude, why do you care so much?

  I already kind of feel that way, But setting that aside, why
• 24:18
  do you want so much to make him feel terrible? It's just so spiteful

  and mean, and he'll know. I just can't get down with that.

  There are times where being petty feels like very satisfying when it is revenge for
• 24:37
  something that has been done. But this dude hasn't got a bone pick.

  Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry. I'm not

  that sorry. Actually, I lie to you. He has a bone to

  pick? Is that that's going to be a joke that, like Brooke says

  himself at one point, right, feel like anyway? But I don't see

  why uma is so I almost did it again, dead set. I just

  don't get why he is after Brooke the way he is, except for,
• 25:29
  I suppose knowing that Brooke was like the original body for this shadow. But

  even so, you know, I mentioned before that I'm a little bit unsure
• 25:41
  about what he understands regarding killing Brooke, because he kills Brooke and he's basically
• 25:48
  killing himself as far as I understand it. I have mentioned that he seems
• 25:52
  like very different than the other zombies in some ways, but I think that
• 25:57
  if he kills Brooke, the shadow just disappears and then he himself drops it
• 26:03
  also, and I'm not sure that he knows that's what happens. So yeah,
• 26:07
  the fact that he is just going after him in this like really intense
• 26:11
  way. He then says, would you like me to sever with my arrow
• 26:21
  notch slash? And Brookes says, shut up. You don't know the first
• 26:29
  thing about that technique. You have no right to even speak its name.

  And I was like, ooh, why, Like it's one thing to just
• 26:41
  be like, don't use my technique against me or whatever. It's another thing
• 26:45
  to be that kind of protective of it where it's you are being blasphemous.

  You know. That felt like the accusation here. And he says, the

  quick draw attack that I was most skilled at when I was with my crew
• 27:03
  was called requiem lebander role. However, my comrades and arms renamed it in
• 27:14
  regard to my own sword fighting technique. They called it three verse humming aero
• 27:19
  notch slash. Even if you share my personality and my techniques, you've forgotten
• 27:27
  my memories and all the feelings attached to them, which means that you will
• 27:33
  not use that name. And this has me really curious because the fact that
• 27:41
  he has mentioned using this technique, and I may be wrong about this,
• 27:47
  You guys. But I was assuming that it was a technique, you know
• 27:53
  what, I then it isn't. It isn't because I was gonna say I
• 27:56
  was assuming it was a technique linked to his devil fruit. But if his
• 28:00
  crew renamed it, he was alive when he used it, so it's not
• 28:06
  a devil Fruit technique. And thus I was going to be like, can

  Riuma actually even use it? Because from what I've seen, the shadows don't
• 28:15
  carry devil fruit powers. But that's not the case here. That's not even
• 28:18
  the thing. Okay, never mind. I got myself all twisted around,

  but once I stopped to think about it, I realized. So Riuma says,

  you know, this will be your last chance to take down the fake,

  so if you're gonna do it, you better get up. And Brooke

  does manage to actually stand up. He is in bad shape though, this
• 28:38
  poor dude, like it's a really I'm sure as an animator, a difficult
• 28:45
  thing to get across that a skeleton is in bad shape, but they've managed
• 28:52
  it. He really looks like shit. So he's walking forward and there's like
• 28:57
  a whole moment where it looks like that's it. He's dead, and I
• 29:03
  was upset. We have more flashbacks to him with his friends, to him
• 29:08
  with the with laboon, to the ship, everything like that, and then
• 29:18
  all of a sudden, we have Riuma lifting his blade and he's like,
• 29:26
  all right, I think I'm gonna go ahead and take this this afro And
• 29:33
  then Frankie and Zoro step in. They appear to rescue Brooke from being shaved
• 29:45
  from getting a haircut, and Riuma is like, how dare you interfere with
• 29:49
  my battle? And at first he goes after Frankie. He doesn't even see
• 29:53
  Zoro, and Zoro steps between them and says, are you the legendary samurai
• 30:02
  that slayed a dragon in ancient times? And I really expected there to be
• 30:10
  like the way that he says this. Am I meant to remember this the
• 30:18
  dragon slaying samurai? Has Zoro mentioned this before? I'm it's just like the
• 30:25
  way he says it. It felt like a callback. But I you know,
• 30:30
  this is such a long running show, and I definitely lose track of
• 30:34
  stuff, so this is something that I didn't remember, and I'm just curious
• 30:41
  if it's been mentioned or if this is sort of a new a new thing
• 30:45
  being brought up because he says something like I've been really hoping to meet you,
• 30:49
  and I was like, you have, because that's news to me.

  Between this and finding out that like secretly Sanji was hoping for the clear clear
• 31:02
  fruit this whole time, everybody's got these like secret dreams that I didn't know
• 31:04
  about. Krato says, nope, first time, Okay, noted, But
• 31:11
  yeah, Zoro is he's facing off with this guy and he definitely has a
• 31:18
  moment where he is like that sword is that my imagination or is this supposed
• 31:30
  to be like one of the legendary swords? And rumas like, oh,
• 31:38
  you've got a really good eye. Yeah, you're right, it is.
• 31:44
  And while this is all happening, I did really enjoy this part. Frankie
• 31:51
  is still like holding Brooke right like cradling him basically while Brooke is on the
• 31:56
  floor, and Frankie says something to Brook about how like if you if your
• 32:06
  pride will allow it. I think it's the way he phrases it, Zora
• 32:12
  would like to get your shadow back for you. And I liked the way
• 32:16
  he put it because you know there would be people who would just be like,
• 32:20
  no, this is something I must do myself. Brooke does not have
• 32:22
  that compunction. Brooke is immediately like, yes, oh my god, please
• 32:28
  get my shadow back. Oh my god, I'm begging you, please,
• 32:30
  please, thank you, And eventually Zora has to tell him to shut the
• 32:32
  fuck up. But the fact that Brooke is so the pride thing just not
• 32:43
  a factor. He doesn't care. And yeah, so this is indeed one
• 32:49
  of the twenty one legendary swords of the highest grade, A famed black blade
• 32:55
  with a reverse waved temper line no as the clear Autumn Wind shoo shui,
• 33:04
  consider yourself fortunate to cast your eyes on it. Autumn Wind is actually a
• 33:13
  super dope name that I like a lot. I recognize that it's probably corny
• 33:22
  like this. The thing about being corny, you guys, is how very
• 33:29
  subjective that is, and how like high your tolerance is. Cornyness really is
• 33:36
  in the eye of the beholder, And there are times where you're going to
• 33:38
  see something as incredibly corny and another person will see it as cool, or
• 33:43
  you will see it as corny and so does the other person, but they
• 33:45
  like it despite themselves, even though they understand that really it is kind of
• 33:50
  corny, but that's kind of part of its charm. And that's kind of
• 33:53
  where I'm at with this where Autumn Wind, I recognize isn't a badass name,
• 34:00
  really, but I really like it a lot, I really do.

  And also the fact that it's got like this weird red rippling in the blade
• 34:08

  really thought that was unfair, you know, the fact that he can do

  that with them. And then after after he's like done his gattling attack and

  it doesn't work, he's sort of just standing there kind of yelling about it,

  like that's not fair. And then all of a sudden, all the

  little like dark circles that are his shadow that's they turn into bats and just

  I just had this levely mental image of this like huge giant creature that
