- 0:00Speaker 1: And the cracking power play Lord.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is the postgame show, brought to you by Toyota
- 0:06Speaker 2: of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at your
- 0:09Speaker 2: Kraken Hockey. It's the post Game. I'm the Global Credit
- 0:13Speaker 2: Union Kraken Audio Network.
- 0:17Speaker 3: The final time tonight, welcome back inside of Climbing Plaid
- 0:19Speaker 3: Arena alongside al Kiniski Ever fits you back with you
- 0:24Speaker 3: the crack and fall four to two to the Chicago Blackhawks,
- 0:27Speaker 3: and after wins today by the LA Kings, the Kraken
- 0:31Speaker 3: now find themselves six points back of the second and
- 0:36Speaker 3: final wildcard spot. And while it's not mathematical, my friend,
- 0:39Speaker 3: I think that probably was the proverbial nail in the
- 0:43Speaker 3: coffin for Seattle and their playoff hopes is they needed
- 0:46Speaker 3: this one in a big way after the LA win.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Didn't get it here tonight, and now the Kraken a
- 0:51Speaker 3: long look up as they've got four teams ahead of
- 0:55Speaker 3: them to catch up to the LA Kicks.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Yeah, not mathematical, but uh really, it's gonna be a
- 1:00Speaker 4: very difficult situation to get in at this point. You
- 1:04Speaker 4: got two things working against you, obviously not getting to
- 1:07Speaker 4: win here tonight against the Blackhawks, and the teams above
- 1:11Speaker 4: you continuing to win, which separates that gap.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Kraken.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I mean we talked about it at one of the breaks,
- 1:18Speaker 3: you and I did. I mean another late third period push.
- 1:21Speaker 3: It would be nice to see these pushes in the
- 1:23Speaker 3: second period in the late first period. But you know,
- 1:26Speaker 3: say what you want. The Kraken can build off of,
- 1:30Speaker 3: you know, flashes. In this game, Philip Grubauer played really well.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I thought defensively, there was a lot of really good
- 1:36Speaker 3: things that were done, but overall the offense just couldn't click.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Twenty seven shots on goal, no traffic in front. Arvid
- 1:43Speaker 3: Salderblom had a clear lane to a lot of those shots.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Only two got by them. And I think if not
- 1:49Speaker 3: for the stellar play Philip Grubauer here tonight, this one
- 1:53Speaker 3: may have been a little more squirrely in.
- 1:55Speaker 4: The score sheet. Yeah, he was definitely one of the
- 1:57Speaker 4: better players on the score sheet tonight. Came up with
- 1:59Speaker 4: a few big glove saves at different points in the night.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Probably the third goal he'd like to have back.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah, giving up.
- 2:06Speaker 4: First goals to players in the NHL, especially a five
- 2:09Speaker 4: hole on the ice shot that he'd probably have nine
- 2:12Speaker 4: out of ten.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Times, so the Crack and fall four to another struggling
- 2:16Speaker 3: performance tonight on the power play for Seattle, Kracking go
- 2:20Speaker 3: oh for two on the power play. They are now
- 2:23Speaker 3: oh for their last fourteen, one for their last twenty
- 2:26Speaker 3: on the power play, and the game winning goal happened
- 2:29Speaker 3: to be that Sasha Bravar, first NHL goal for him.
- 2:33Speaker 3: That was the third goal for Chicago. They added an
- 2:36Speaker 3: empty netter from Eliam mcam all right, partner Cracking. Off
- 2:39Speaker 3: to Winnipeg tomorrow or off to Winnipeg tomorrow, they'll play
- 2:42Speaker 3: the Deaths Monday, and then they'll be in Minnesota on Tuesday.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Given everything that we know now with the standings and
- 2:47Speaker 3: where the kra Cans sit in terms of all that,
- 2:50Speaker 3: what's the outlook now? Where are the Cracking goal from
- 2:53Speaker 3: here moving forward into these final seven games of the
- 2:56Speaker 3: regular season.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it's probably a combination of putting your
- 2:59Speaker 4: nose down and you know, putting everything you can into
- 3:03Speaker 4: these remaining games. You're still not mathematically out. Realistically, it's
- 3:08Speaker 4: going to be difficult to get back in, but you've
- 3:10Speaker 4: got to play like there's a chance, and there certainly
- 3:12Speaker 4: still is.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Four to two defeat by seat by Chicago over Seattle,
- 3:17Speaker 3: al over to you.
- 3:18Speaker 5: Yeah, Mam.
- 3:18Speaker 4: McKay's three key takeaways tonight. Not enough execution, I thought
- 3:22Speaker 4: over the course of the game. It's certainly happened there
- 3:24Speaker 4: in the third period, but twenty seven shots on goal.
- 3:27Speaker 4: You had lots of high danger chances, but not enough
- 3:30Speaker 4: of them turned into goals. At the other end of
- 3:33Speaker 4: the ice. Giving up a goal with twenty two point
- 3:36Speaker 4: two seconds left in the second period, that was really
- 3:38Speaker 4: hard for Seattle. I you know, you talk about late
- 3:40Speaker 4: goals all the time. You hate giving them up late
- 3:43Speaker 4: in the period. And then I thought also the good
- 3:45Speaker 4: that the push and the third was good as well.
- 3:48Speaker 4: You never want to see a team pack it in,
- 3:50Speaker 4: and certainly the krack and did not do that tonight
- 3:52Speaker 4: with a good push in that third period with a
- 3:54Speaker 4: goal by Jaden Schwartz and Coppocaco, Schwartz being involved in
- 3:59Speaker 4: both of those goals. Three stars tonight brought to you
- 4:02Speaker 4: by Triple A of Washington. Third star goes to Chicago's
- 4:06Speaker 4: Tyler bertuesy Uh he had a goal tonight. The second
- 4:10Speaker 4: second star goes to former Chicago Blackhawk Nick Felino, now
- 4:13Speaker 4: a member of the Mini is a little while. We'll
- 4:16Speaker 4: see him on Tuesday. We'll let him know you had
- 4:17Speaker 4: second star tonight and then first star tonight goes to
- 4:21Speaker 4: Seattles Jaden Schwartz. He had a goal and an assist.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Cracking fans. If you don't have Triple A what are

- 4:36Speaker 4: I let's make let's make him the second star.
- 4:40Speaker 1: He's our second star.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Sorry Nick, Flannel Philly. If you're listening, you're the number
- 4:44Speaker 3: two star. According to the Crack and Audio Network Crack.
- 4:47Speaker 5: And Fall four two.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Mike Benton on the plane tomorrow. He'll talk to you
- 4:51Speaker 3: Monday from Winnipeg. I'll be back in this chair on
- 4:54Speaker 3: Tuesday from Minnesota. For now, across the street to Tom's
- 4:58Speaker 3: we go, Mike Benton. We'll take you home the rest
- 5:01Speaker 3: of the way.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Short turn around for the flight tomorrow. Here, fellas, thanks
- 5:04Speaker 6: very much once again, great calling. The numbers are I'm
- 5:07Speaker 6: pretty here, but they tell the story really here at
- 5:09Speaker 6: this point two six and two last ten games last
- 5:12Speaker 6: eight home games the Cracking one and seven, and they
- 5:15Speaker 6: are now six points out with seven to play. So
- 5:18Speaker 6: the math says it is certainly bleak, but the situation
- 5:21Speaker 6: feels more dire here at this point.
- 5:23Speaker 1: So how does this happen? How the Crack and react.
- 5:26Speaker 6: We'll get to more of that coming up here with

- 8:49Speaker 6: the crack and fall tonight here and a game following
- 8:52Speaker 6: up a player's only meeting situation postgame on Thursday, and
- 8:57Speaker 6: the krack and once again see that he'll get even
- 8:59Speaker 6: more steep right now as this playoff chase winds down
- 9:02Speaker 6: to seven games remaining, where they fall six points out
- 9:05Speaker 6: in the night. The final score as a result Chicago
- 9:08Speaker 6: four and the Krack and two ending the two game
- 9:11Speaker 6: homestand at Climate Pledge Arena. The Kraken goals in period
- 9:15Speaker 6: three courtesy Jaydon Schwartz and Coppocco, Chicago's goal Tara Weynen, Bertuzzi,
- 9:21Speaker 6: boy Verre and mckaye mccrack and falling to thirty two,
- 9:25Speaker 6: thirty two and eleven point total at seventy five, Chicago
- 9:28Speaker 6: improving to twenty eight, thirty five and fourteen now with
- 9:33Speaker 6: seventy points on the campaign, and the Kraken settle for
- 9:36Speaker 6: two out of three as far as wins in this
- 9:39Speaker 6: regular season series. Again, Mike Betton with f you back
- 9:42Speaker 6: across the street to Tom's watchbar, and time now for
- 9:44Speaker 6: the highlights. This Seattle Crack and Drive to the Nets
- 9:46Speaker 6: score and recap is brought to you by Chevy Tracks
- 9:50Speaker 6: Bigger and Boulder, just like the Northwest Tracks, is a
- 9:53Speaker 6: small suv that gives you amazing style and all the
- 9:57Speaker 6: tech at an unbelievable price. Chevy Track is a perfect
- 10:01Speaker 6: assist for all of life's adventures. Relatively, Love matters in
- 10:06Speaker 6: period one, scoreless by the end of it as a
- 10:09Speaker 6: cracking out shot by Chicago had a ten to four clip,
- 10:12Speaker 6: but also coming up empty on an early power play
- 10:15Speaker 6: after Frankie Nazar was taken off for tripping just one
- 10:18Speaker 6: minute and thirty three seconds into the game. Nonetheless, a
- 10:21Speaker 6: penalty killed Thyough responding for the Kraken after Ryan Lindman
- 10:25Speaker 6: was taken off for holding at four forty one and
- 10:27Speaker 6: Philip Grewbauer, the busier of the two goaltenders, looking sharp
- 10:31Speaker 6: out of the gate with ten saves on ten shots,
- 10:34Speaker 6: but the Kraken back into the box about the midway
- 10:37Speaker 6: portion of period two in Chicago, right back to work
- 10:41Speaker 6: here on the man advantage. With that it gave the
- 10:43Speaker 6: goal to Tabo Tara Vinen at nine to fifteen of
- 10:46Speaker 6: period two for his fourteenth. Connor Badhard and Frankie Nazar
- 10:50Speaker 6: had the assist on the play as Tara Biden found
- 10:52Speaker 6: a hole in the Krack and penalty kill able to
- 10:55Speaker 6: push one through Philip Greenbauer and the goaltender getting most
- 10:58Speaker 6: of it but not enough, and that gave me Chicago
- 11:01Speaker 6: a one nothing advantage and the Kraken falling behind to
- 11:05Speaker 6: nothing on a goal by Tyler Bertuzzi, where he has
- 11:08Speaker 6: scored a ton of those this season, right around the net.
- 11:12Speaker 6: He did so once again tonight for his team leading
- 11:15Speaker 6: thirty second goal, coming at nineteen thirty seven and a
- 11:18Speaker 6: goal in the final minute of a period. Certainly it
- 11:21Speaker 6: was a stinger as far as with the Kraken felt
- 11:23Speaker 6: down to nothing by the end of period two. Bertuzzie's
- 11:27Speaker 6: goal courtesy Iliam mckayeb and Wyat Kaiser. The Kraken then
- 11:33Speaker 6: pounding away, looking for any source of life offensively, and
- 11:37Speaker 6: here comes Jaydon Schwartz pass a halfway mark a period three.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Seattle to i his own entry. Here comes tolban it
- 11:43Speaker 3: left wing, circle around del Mastro, tolbet it.
- 11:45Speaker 1: In front of tarts.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Nelly, tobt it down the left side, sends it in
- 11:56Speaker 3: front of Jayde Schwartz. He scores that one off his
- 11:59Speaker 3: butt and the cracket on the board. Two on they
- 12:03Speaker 3: cut that deficit.
- 12:04Speaker 10: And a half.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Well.
- 12:05Speaker 4: This playoff starts in the neutral zone, down by the
- 12:07Speaker 4: cracking bitch. Puck gets up to Tolban and he actually
- 12:10Speaker 4: kicks the puck up and it gets.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Batted back to him.
- 12:13Speaker 4: He goes down on a two to one two Kirby straightforward,
- 12:16Speaker 4: but puts the puck on net. Jake Schwartz is doing
- 12:19Speaker 4: what he does well, goes harder the net, gets a
- 12:21Speaker 4: piece of that. This game's two to one now.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Sometimes simple is better, and a simple play got the
- 12:26Speaker 6: job done right there as Jayden Schwartz picks up his
- 12:28Speaker 6: first goal coming back from his upper body injury and
- 12:31Speaker 6: his first goal since March fourth against Saint Louis, says
- 12:35Speaker 6: he gets to eleven goals on the season at ten
- 12:37Speaker 6: to forty eight Curtisy, Eli, Tolvenen and Maddy Beniers. But
- 12:41Speaker 6: then Chicago earned a massive goal destrips their lead back
- 12:44Speaker 6: to two. Sasha boy Ver picking up his first career
- 12:47Speaker 6: NHL goal after he's spent a majority of this season
- 12:50Speaker 6: in college hockey at bu Boavera's first of his career
- 12:54Speaker 6: courtesy former Seattle Thunderbird Kevin Kordschinski and slaggered also with
- 12:59Speaker 6: the on the play to make it a three to
- 13:02Speaker 6: one game, but the Kraken not going away quietly.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Here comes Copocco. A little over a minute later, Day
- 13:09Speaker 1: Schwartz to the corner.
- 13:10Speaker 11: And front Burtley Catton right on knockdown rebound, Coco score,
- 13:21Speaker 11: Copo Cocko right place, right time. The Kracking back down
- 13:25Speaker 11: one five forty two left in regulation.
- 13:29Speaker 4: All the best opportunities come below the dots and the
- 13:31Speaker 4: offensive end of the ice. That's where this poe starts.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Montor in the corner feeds Catton with a great spot
- 13:37Speaker 4: pass out to the top of the circles.
- 13:39Speaker 1: He gets a shot on.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Net and uh and Coco's there to pick up the rebound.
- 13:44Speaker 1: He goes blocker side under the bar. Three two.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Chicago now signs of life from the Kracking once again
- 13:51Speaker 6: as they come right back one minute and ten seconds later,
- 13:54Speaker 6: and Copocacko, who's played some fantastic hockey, sends the Olympics,
- 13:57Speaker 6: picks up a thirteen goal of the season to make
- 14:00Speaker 6: it a three to two game. In fourteen eighteen, Berkeley
- 14:03Speaker 6: Catton Jayden Schwartz had the assist on the play, now
- 14:06Speaker 6: giving Coco twelve points in the last eleven games for
- 14:10Speaker 6: one last chance to tie this thing up. The Kraken
- 14:13Speaker 6: pulled goaltender Philip Grubauer, giving them a six on five advantage,
- 14:17Speaker 6: but then Ilia mckaya put the game away at eighteen
- 14:19Speaker 6: forty eight a period three is sixteenth of the season
- 14:22Speaker 6: courtesy Kaiser and Badard to make it four to two,
- 14:26Speaker 6: and that would be that, wrapping it up as your
- 14:28Speaker 6: final score. Chicago four and the Krack in two to
- 14:32Speaker 6: end this two game homestand on the Kraken side, final
- 14:36Speaker 6: totals in this one shots on net in favor of
- 14:38Speaker 6: Chicago at thirty one to twenty seven, the Crack and
- 14:41Speaker 6: power play coming up empty zero for two.
- 14:43Speaker 1: They have certainly felt their struggles here of the most.
- 14:46Speaker 6: Recent going Chicago picking up they won for three advantage
- 14:49Speaker 6: here to night as far as their situation and giving
- 14:52Speaker 6: the win in net to Arvid Solderbloom twenty five saves
- 14:55Speaker 6: on twenty seven shots. Philip Grubauer despired how well he
- 14:58Speaker 6: played takes a loss of this one, but twenty seven
- 15:01Speaker 6: saves on thirty shots on net officially sodder Bloom's record
- 15:05Speaker 6: improving to eight twelve and three, Grubauer falling to thirteen
- 15:10Speaker 6: eleven and four on the season time out for the

- 15:31Speaker 6: player who kept the Kraken in the fight for tonight
- 15:34Speaker 6: was the guy between the pipes on their side and
- 15:36Speaker 6: goaltender Philip Grubauer. He had ten saves on ten shots,
- 15:40Speaker 6: and the fining moment for him was a breakaway say
- 15:42Speaker 6: back in period two to keep this game scoreless, showing
- 15:46Speaker 6: that despite Chicago pumping up pressure on the Kraken Grewbauer
- 15:50Speaker 6: was there with a solid effort to keep the kracking
- 15:52Speaker 6: in the thick of this one, but later on flashing
- 15:55Speaker 6: forward for the cracking getting right back into the game.
- 15:58Speaker 6: A young Blackhawks full stepping forward here for a milestone moment.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Vah now for Cortiski in a slot shot Sasha Brovere.
- 16:10Speaker 1: He scores Seattle trying to clear the puck on the
- 16:17Speaker 1: right side and it cuts it front.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Sasha boy Vere with his first goal in the National
- 16:28Speaker 3: Hockey League.
- 16:29Speaker 1: It's back to a two.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Goal lead, three to one for Chicago.
- 16:33Speaker 6: I want to remember for Sasha boy Vere, the Boston
- 16:36Speaker 6: University product who picks up his first career NHL goal
- 16:39Speaker 6: and then also standing up as a game winner as
- 16:42Speaker 6: well as a cracket after that, cutting it close once again,
- 16:45Speaker 6: back down to a one goal margin, but running out
- 16:47Speaker 6: of gas and running out of time, eventually falling into
- 16:50Speaker 6: the four to two final. Here to Chicago. Time out
- 16:53Speaker 6: for the Big Playoff picture brought to you by the
- 16:55Speaker 6: Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling. The Penguins taking on the
- 17:00Speaker 6: Florida Panthers, with Pittsburgh looking to ice out the Panthers
- 17:04Speaker 6: in this game with their offense.
- 17:06Speaker 12: Forty five seconds to go on the Penguins power play.
- 17:08Speaker 12: Puckstill in the Panthers zone near corner, worked along the walls,
- 17:12Speaker 12: Crosby sends it high slot, hustling, Carlson keeps it on side,
- 17:15Speaker 12: rister down low.
- 17:16Speaker 11: They score Guinny Malkin with the touch in on the
- 17:21Speaker 11: far side.
- 17:22Speaker 1: It's his fourteen hundredth career points and the Penguins go
- 17:26Speaker 1: up by two.
- 17:29Speaker 6: Joe Brand had the call in Pittsburgh for that play
- 17:32Speaker 6: on one oh five nine. The X of Gunny Malka
- 17:35Speaker 6: not just fourteen hundred NHL points z reefs today, he
- 17:39Speaker 6: also had a hat trick and a four point outing
- 17:42Speaker 6: the Penguins, routing the Florida Panthers ninety four at PPG
- 17:46Speaker 6: payn Serena. The hat trick was Malkin's fourteenth of his
- 17:49Speaker 6: NHL career and the first for him in four years
- 17:53Speaker 6: since he did that against Detroit and an eleven to

- 21:47Speaker 1: on the Crack and Audio Network.
- 21:49Speaker 6: Mike Betton with you back at Tom's washbar right across
- 21:51Speaker 6: from Climate Pledge Arena. Asked to Nice Chicago putting together
- 21:54Speaker 6: a wire to wire effort and for the crack, and
- 21:57Speaker 6: it came in a game that they called must win
- 22:00Speaker 6: and eventually falling forward to to the Blackhawks, where early
- 22:03Speaker 6: on it was offense that was too hard to come
- 22:05Speaker 6: by with the game and the balance, and then two
- 22:07Speaker 6: separate two goal deficits unfortunately too hard to overcome, and
- 22:11Speaker 6: period three as a crack and now fall to six
- 22:14Speaker 6: points out of a playoff spot with seven games to play.
- 22:17Speaker 6: For more reaction, we go back downstairs now with Krack
- 22:21Speaker 6: and defenseman Brandon Montour.
- 22:24Speaker 18: Brandon, what was your take on how this one went tonight?
- 22:31Speaker 16: Again?
- 22:32Speaker 18: Lost kind of the words, just how you take it?
- 22:34Speaker 18: You know, we lose another one, an important one.
- 22:38Speaker 19: Obviously against and that's it's behind us in the standings, unaccessible.
- 22:42Speaker 19: But yeah, it's it's you know, mental mistakes, little mistakes.
- 22:49Speaker 19: I think it found out again it keeps saying the
- 22:52Speaker 19: same stuff. We get a little push late in the game,
- 22:56Speaker 19: but yeah, we dug ourselves in a hole.
- 23:00Speaker 5: And that's on us.
- 23:02Speaker 4: The first two periods were not anything.
- 23:04Speaker 16: What you guys joined your black what what do you
- 23:06Speaker 16: think is happening there?
- 23:07Speaker 18: Yeah, we're flat and you gotta give it to them.
- 23:10Speaker 19: Uh, there came out young young legs had some as
- 23:14Speaker 19: they got nothing to lose. I don't know if we're
- 23:17Speaker 19: six too tight or just not playing fast. Created a
- 23:20Speaker 19: little bit, but not nearly enough, especially against you know,
- 23:25Speaker 19: a team that's below us, team that's already out.
- 23:28Speaker 18: We just think we've gotta be absolute.
- 23:30Speaker 12: We keep saying it, but desperate, desperate put Your assessment
- 23:34Speaker 12: of the power play struggles recently, Uh yeah, I.
- 23:39Speaker 18: Mean it's you could say there's breaks, it's not going in.
- 23:43Speaker 19: Created a little bit, you know, we we shuffled the lines,
- 23:47Speaker 19: practiced a little bit, but again it's it's got a bit.
- 23:50Speaker 19: Get back to just simple, you know, simple. You know,
- 23:53Speaker 19: I get a couple of shots of the net, a
- 23:55Speaker 19: tip here and there, a rebound, you know it could
- 23:57Speaker 19: change the other unt Uh, it's gotta be simple.
- 24:01Speaker 18: Play faster. You know, we're getting breaking out the breaking
- 24:05Speaker 18: trying never get in and it's a little slow.
- 24:08Speaker 19: Again, I don't know if that's just overthinking it. No
- 24:11Speaker 19: matter power play, you can't get frustrated.
- 24:14Speaker 18: I don't know if you scored or not.
- 24:15Speaker 19: You've got to create some momentum for your team and
- 24:18Speaker 19: create some some buzz, create some shots to the net,
- 24:20Speaker 19: some havoc.
- 24:21Speaker 18: We just haven't done that enough. And again, I don't
- 24:26Speaker 18: really know what else to say about that.
- 24:27Speaker 20: You said the word flat.
- 24:28Speaker 21: I mean, you've been on a team that's that's one
- 24:30Speaker 21: before considering the situation here. How frustrating is that? And
- 24:35Speaker 21: how I mean, how do you even explain that at
- 24:38Speaker 21: this this stage that you can't.
- 24:39Speaker 19: Again, I said numerous times this year, you're gonna get
- 24:42Speaker 19: the best from obviously, it doesn't matter who you're playing,
- 24:45Speaker 19: you know, Chicago or Colorado. You gotta be playing your best, hokie.
- 24:48Speaker 19: And if you're not showing up to each each and
- 24:50Speaker 19: every night, reve alts are gonna end up. How how
- 24:54Speaker 19: they've been rolling the last, you know, since break So again,
- 24:58Speaker 19: that's on our group to at least fight, you know,
- 25:01Speaker 19: keep fighting to the end.
- 25:02Speaker 5: You never know.
- 25:03Speaker 18: But obviously we've dug ourselves in a pretty big hole.
- 25:06Speaker 6: And that's on us s cracking defenseman Brandon Montour who
- 25:10Speaker 6: tonight had nine shot attempts in this game, four shots
- 25:14Speaker 6: on goal efficiently. Where the emotions certainly are still raw
- 25:18Speaker 6: here at this point, and from a leader who also
- 25:20Speaker 6: won a Stanley Cup in Florida, certainly that emotion also
- 25:24Speaker 6: includes frustration as a power play goes over to tonight
- 25:27Speaker 6: and fall into a slump of five of fifty one
- 25:30Speaker 6: since the Olympic, break the Crack and fall four two
- 25:33Speaker 6: to the Blackhawks. Back with more after this, you're listening

- 35:45Speaker 6: A crack and fans say, the ice may be cool,
- 35:47Speaker 6: but the energy at Tom's Washbar is electric. Just steps
- 35:49Speaker 6: from Climate Pledge Arena, Tom's Washbar, all the sports, all
- 35:54Speaker 6: the time, that's where we're at. This place is packed,
- 35:57Speaker 6: by the way. I'll tell you what, rainer, shine, win
- 35:59Speaker 6: or lie, it doesn't matter. This is the Seattle sports
- 36:02Speaker 6: scene and it is fantastic as far as the emotion
- 36:06Speaker 6: and the passion, the energy no matter what kind of night.
- 36:09Speaker 6: But a different kind of energy that we're feeling right
- 36:11Speaker 6: now is a crack and fall for two to the
- 36:13Speaker 6: black bows, and now with seven games to play, the
- 36:16Speaker 6: situation has become even more bleak, the cracking six points
- 36:19Speaker 6: out of a playoff spot.
- 36:21Speaker 1: So what's your reaction to this? What is your message here?
- 36:24Speaker 6: With seven games left in the regular season, Let's hear
- 36:27Speaker 6: it just Texas right now. Four nine four five one
- 36:30Speaker 6: toa Cooma Doadge text line again four nine four five
- 36:33Speaker 6: one to Comodage Chrysler G. Brahm at the corner of
- 36:36Speaker 6: thirty eighth and South Tacoma Way, the intersection of Savings.
- 36:40Speaker 6: I also want to open the phone lines here because
- 36:43Speaker 6: tonight we heard a lot of raw emotion and a
- 36:45Speaker 6: raw reaction here from Kracking defenseman Brandon Montor so you
- 36:48Speaker 6: might be feeling.
- 36:49Speaker 1: This as well. Don't hold back, let it out.
- 36:52Speaker 6: Call us right now if you want to jump on
- 36:54Speaker 6: the phone and talk with us at two oh six
- 36:56Speaker 6: two eighty six again, that's two oh six, eight six
- 37:01Speaker 6: nine five nine five. Travis is back there, man of
- 37:03Speaker 6: the controls as usual, doing a bang up job. He's
- 37:06Speaker 6: righty here to get you on the air again. Two
- 37:08Speaker 6: oh six, two eighty six nine five nine five. But
- 37:11Speaker 6: they give it to us here. What's your reaction and
- 37:13Speaker 6: what's your what's your message here for the crackn with
- 37:15Speaker 6: seven games to play, I bring Andrew Seers in right
- 37:18Speaker 6: now is we're gonna just jump right.
- 37:19Speaker 1: In here to this.
- 37:20Speaker 6: And I think when you go back to the Olympic
- 37:23Speaker 6: break and how much promise was out there, how much
- 37:27Speaker 6: potential was out there. I mean, the numbers just tell
- 37:30Speaker 6: the whole story and they don't paint a pretty picture.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Andrews.
- 37:33Speaker 6: Since the Olympic break five too and two, your shot
- 37:36Speaker 6: differential is minus seventy. Your goal differential is minus twenty two,
- 37:40Speaker 6: and the power play as Montur got to five of
- 37:43Speaker 6: fifty one.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Disappointing is the first and.
- 37:46Speaker 12: Appropriate place here to begin with. Yeah, it's disappointing, but
- 37:50Speaker 12: is it all that unexpected? Is the the kind of
- 37:53Speaker 12: two things that you know we play with here because
- 37:57Speaker 12: there was a lot of push from the deeper in
- 38:00Speaker 12: analytics side of things saying that the crack and we're
- 38:02Speaker 12: due for some regression coming out of that Olympic break.
- 38:06Speaker 12: And boy have they felt that because you know, they
- 38:09Speaker 12: were in a great spot three points up on the
- 38:13Speaker 12: h on the playoff cut line going into the break.
- 38:16Speaker 12: Now they find themselves what six points out? I think
- 38:18Speaker 12: you said it's just LA.
- 38:20Speaker 1: And Nashville one a both LA and Nashville one tonight. Yeah,
- 38:24Speaker 1: it's just unacceptable.
- 38:25Speaker 12: It's unacceptable for a for a franchise that basically made
- 38:31Speaker 12: it their goal at the deadline to try and make
- 38:34Speaker 12: the playoffs this year. Instead of thinking about the future,
- 38:37Speaker 12: selling off some of your veterans for draft picks, and
- 38:40Speaker 12: trying to reload to get yourself in a better position
- 38:42Speaker 12: for years to come, they went in and made the
- 38:46Speaker 12: move to try and make the playoffs this year. And
- 38:48Speaker 12: this is what you show. You lose to a Chicago
- 38:51Speaker 12: team that is already eliminated, that is playing for their future,
- 38:57Speaker 12: not for their present, and go down to zero, and
- 39:01Speaker 12: it looks like you've already given up on the season.
- 39:04Speaker 12: So I don't know, it seems like the players are
- 39:06Speaker 12: going one way and the front office wants to go
- 39:08Speaker 12: another way.
- 39:09Speaker 1: I don't know where to go from here. I mean,
- 39:11Speaker 1: I at least begin with this, and that.
- 39:13Speaker 6: I mean when you bring them the numbers and they're
- 39:16Speaker 6: certainly valid and the context behind it is certainly valid.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Here's what also concerns me.
- 39:21Speaker 6: This came two days after a player's only meeting after Utah,
- 39:26Speaker 6: when you went up to nothing and then Utah rolls
- 39:28Speaker 6: off six unanswered goals, and this is what you get
- 39:31Speaker 6: after tonight. I mean, I don't know what else to
- 39:34Speaker 6: say but head scratching here at this point. I mean,
- 39:37Speaker 6: all of a sudden, you're finding the Mattie Benira's line
- 39:39Speaker 6: go quiet. I mean, Coppocaco's playing great hockey still, but
- 39:41Speaker 6: I mean for the majority of this game, I mean,
- 39:44Speaker 6: the one guy that was playing above the bar was
- 39:45Speaker 6: really Philip Grubauer here, because I mean, the offense was
- 39:49Speaker 6: completely empty up until Jayden Schwartz's goal at ten forty
- 39:52Speaker 6: eight a period three.
- 39:53Speaker 12: Yeah, and you've give you've been given a gift by
- 39:55Speaker 12: how crap this Pacific Division is, by how poor there
- 40:00Speaker 12: there are some Western Conference teams that have been playing.
- 40:03Speaker 12: You get a down year from Winnipeg, you get a
- 40:05Speaker 12: down year from Saint Louis, a relatively down year from
- 40:10Speaker 12: the Nashville is the las of the world, and it's
- 40:13Speaker 12: just wide open for the taking. And you can't do
- 40:19Speaker 12: it against a team that's way down in the standings,
- 40:22Speaker 12: that is struggles against everyone else, and it's just gosh,
- 40:26Speaker 12: it's frustrating. It's frustrating to see that there's no urgency
- 40:31Speaker 12: and you finally started to see some in that third period. Yeap,
- 40:34Speaker 12: Why does it take going too down to Chicago at
- 40:37Speaker 12: home in a must win playoff game to get to
- 40:40Speaker 12: that point?
- 40:41Speaker 6: And here's also what scared me too, because Chicago's already
- 40:44Speaker 6: out of the mixed mathematically, and we're at that point
- 40:46Speaker 6: where when you're facing a team with nothing to lose,
- 40:49Speaker 6: they're playing a lot more loose, they play with a
- 40:51Speaker 6: much more clear head. And I think you saw a
- 40:53Speaker 6: team that played with a lot more snap And I
- 40:55Speaker 6: think to me, either it was a lack of urgency
- 40:58Speaker 6: or once again you have players who are ailing to
- 41:00Speaker 6: execute because they are just way too tight and pass
- 41:03Speaker 6: us indecisions are made with half speed. Take for instance,
- 41:06Speaker 6: the power play twice here for tonight. Also, yeah, their
- 41:09Speaker 6: power play is just it's anemic to watch right now.
- 41:12Speaker 6: And I was pretty vocal about where I thought the
- 41:16Speaker 6: cracking should go on this deadline. I thought they should
- 41:19Speaker 6: be playing their young guys, maybe looking towards the future
- 41:22Speaker 6: for a little bit, and they just haven't gotten the
- 41:26Speaker 6: ability to. They went the other direction and they started
- 41:30Speaker 6: to go for the playoff, from which I understand it
- 41:32Speaker 6: was wide open for the taking, but they haven't taken
- 41:34Speaker 6: advantage of it. They have nine once again four nine
- 41:37Speaker 6: four to five one to Comodacs. Text line again four
- 41:40Speaker 6: nine four to five one. Text us your reaction. But
- 41:42Speaker 6: also we're gonna open the phones here for tonight for
- 41:44Speaker 6: your reaction. That number two oh six two eight six
- 41:47Speaker 6: nine five nine five again two oh six two eight six,
- 41:51Speaker 6: nine five nine.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Five to the phones, we go right now. Have a
- 41:54Speaker 1: in Seattle.
- 41:55Speaker 6: You're on talking kracking, have a hello, Hi, Hi, Haba.
- 42:01Speaker 6: What's your reaction here for tonight?
- 42:03Speaker 25: Yeah, I'm just frustrated. We sounded so good, like going
- 42:07Speaker 25: into the Olympic break and I was just so excited
- 42:09Speaker 25: to like go to the Olympics and then like come
- 42:12Speaker 25: back and just like you know, have an awesome run.
- 42:15Speaker 25: But I don't know, like I believe in our guys,
- 42:18Speaker 25: but they just don't seem to have any passion and
- 42:21Speaker 25: just they just seem to like be frustrated but then
- 42:24Speaker 25: not put any Like they are putting effort, but they're
- 42:27Speaker 25: just putting it when it's urgent, and like they're just
- 42:30Speaker 25: not putting it in all the full sixty minutes, and
- 42:33Speaker 25: it's just you know, frustrating because I want them to
- 42:36Speaker 25: get back into the playoffs already.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Well, frustration is certainly one way to say it.
- 42:40Speaker 6: Ha, buta thank you very much here for the call
- 42:41Speaker 6: once again, two O six two eight six nine five.
- 42:45Speaker 6: Again that's two O six two eight six nine five
- 42:48Speaker 6: nine five. I go back here to the power play again,
- 42:51Speaker 6: Anders four or five of forty nine since the Olympic break,
- 42:55Speaker 6: they go over to once again, and I think when
- 42:58Speaker 6: you talk about whether it's lack a pass, whether it's
- 43:00Speaker 6: lack a pace, Ultimately we've heard the common theme here
- 43:03Speaker 6: for the last three games.
- 43:04Speaker 12: It really has come down to execution of so no
- 43:06Speaker 12: math expert, Mike Benton. But when you're five of forty
- 43:09Speaker 12: nine and you go zero for two, I believe that's
- 43:12Speaker 12: five to fifty one. If you can confirm that for me, Travis, great,
- 43:15Speaker 12: affirm that for me. Thank you, Thank you. That's that,
- 43:18Speaker 12: that is confirmation. And Travis, can you confirm one more
- 43:20Speaker 12: thing for me? That is under ten percent for a
- 43:23Speaker 12: power play? For something that we've talked about multiple times
- 43:27Speaker 12: with this team. When you're not going to dominate five
- 43:29Speaker 12: on five play, you have to limit the chances on
- 43:32Speaker 12: the penalty kill and you have to be you know, exceptional,
- 43:37Speaker 12: not exceptional, just take advantage of your power play opportunities.
- 43:40Speaker 12: And they were doing that when they were having their
- 43:42Speaker 12: successful stretches of the season, and that has just gone bone.
- 43:46Speaker 6: Dry, and you have seen it on the score sheets again.
- 43:48Speaker 6: I'm going to open the phones right now, folks here
- 43:50Speaker 6: for your reaction. Two o six two eight six nine
- 43:52Speaker 6: five nine five. Call us right now two oh six
- 43:56Speaker 6: two eight six nine five nine five. Let's check in
- 43:58Speaker 6: right now with it the Tacoma text line again. You
- 44:01Speaker 6: can text us there two at four nine four five
- 44:03Speaker 6: one h two oh six saying I still can't figure
- 44:06Speaker 6: out if they're underperforming or if there's a lack of
- 44:09Speaker 6: talent here to make the playoffs. That from the two
- 44:11Speaker 6: to oh six and the three six to oh just
- 44:14Speaker 6: called the effort embarrassing against a team that was already
- 44:16Speaker 6: out from playoff contention. I mean, fans would go deserve better.
- 44:20Speaker 6: That reaction from the three six to oh four to
- 44:23Speaker 6: two five saying Larson Montor brought it tonight. Two or
- 44:27Speaker 6: three inspired shifts here from Jordan Eberley and Benier's I
- 44:30Speaker 6: would like to see the youngsters get more minutes for
- 44:33Speaker 6: the last few and build some momentum here for Berkeley
- 44:35Speaker 6: Catton that from the four to two five.
- 44:37Speaker 12: Yeah, the first first text answer is lack of talent.
- 44:40Speaker 12: I mean, I'm just gonna say it right now. This
- 44:42Speaker 12: roster is not talented enough to get to that high level.
- 44:46Speaker 12: Maybe they could have snuck into the playoffs if they
- 44:48Speaker 12: have played at their absolute peak for the remainder of
- 44:50Speaker 12: this season. But it is a lot to ask of
- 44:53Speaker 12: these guys, and Lane Lambert has done the absolute best
- 44:56Speaker 12: he could to get the most out of these players,
- 44:59Speaker 12: and he frankly sounds frustrated. He's starting to feel that
- 45:04Speaker 12: this team isn't good enough. So you have some pieces, Uh,
- 45:08Speaker 12: you know, I like I like Berkeley cat and I
- 45:10Speaker 12: like Matty beIN Ears, I like I like Brandon Montour.
- 45:13Speaker 12: I like a lot of these guys, but they're playing
- 45:16Speaker 12: too big of roles for what a playoff or Cup
- 45:20Speaker 12: contender should be.
- 45:22Speaker 9: Uh.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Your two seizure one C three two, and that put
- 45:27Speaker 1: that through the entire lineup.
- 45:29Speaker 12: It's guys that you're you're trying to get the absolute
- 45:32Speaker 12: peak out of them one of the time, and that's
- 45:35Speaker 12: never gonna happen.
- 45:36Speaker 1: So expecting that to happen.
- 45:39Speaker 12: When they're never used to playing this big of a
- 45:42Speaker 12: role for any team, let alone a team that's trying
- 45:44Speaker 12: to make the playoffs. Is it's it's honestly, it's it's frustrating.
- 45:49Speaker 12: It's frustrating to watch because you know how much these
- 45:51Speaker 12: guys want it, but for whatever reason, they're not figuring
- 45:54Speaker 12: it out right.
- 45:54Speaker 6: I think frustrating here for the effort that Brandon Montour
- 45:57Speaker 6: had nine shot attempts, for the effort that Maddy bed
- 46:00Speaker 6: and again you can certainly tell one of the players
- 46:03Speaker 6: here from this dressing room or he's taken this very
- 46:06Speaker 6: very seriously. There was a lot of buzz for his
- 46:08Speaker 6: line unfortunately coming up empty here. Bobby McMahon also deny
- 46:12Speaker 6: point blank range as well at one point in this game.
- 46:15Speaker 6: He continues to generate a lot of quality chances. But
- 46:18Speaker 6: I also want to put the spotlight on Philip Grubauer
- 46:20Speaker 6: once again. Twenty seven saves on thirty shots. Where would
- 46:24Speaker 6: this team be without him tonight? That is a scary
- 46:26Speaker 6: thing here to ask us once again he has enjoyed
- 46:29Speaker 6: a resurgency.
- 46:30Speaker 12: Ye, it's funny because last year at this time, which
- 46:32Speaker 12: if we could have a whole nother conversation with that
- 46:34Speaker 12: whole thing, because if you look at the points last
- 46:37Speaker 12: year at this time versus this year at this time,
- 46:39Speaker 12: it's almost the exact same, but because the rest of
- 46:42Speaker 12: the division has been so bad, you're actually in a
- 46:44Speaker 12: playoff hunt still.
- 46:45Speaker 1: But we'll digress on that one. Philip Grubauer.
- 46:49Speaker 12: Last year at this time we were talking about, Gosh,
- 46:52Speaker 12: if he could have just given you five hundred or
- 46:54Speaker 12: so average backup goaltender duties, this team would be looking
- 46:59Speaker 12: for a playoff.
- 47:00Speaker 1: And he's been that and way more this year.
- 47:03Speaker 12: He's been your better goaltender by far between the two
- 47:07Speaker 12: of them this year, especially as of late, and it
- 47:10Speaker 12: just he's been carrying you in these games you just
- 47:13Speaker 12: can't score.
- 47:14Speaker 1: So I absolutely agree with you.
- 47:16Speaker 12: Let's highlight Philip Grubauer because he played exceptionally tonight. Once again,
- 47:20Speaker 12: he played exceptionally against Edmonton as well. There's too many
- 47:25Speaker 12: opportunities where the goalie of the Seattle crack and whether
- 47:28Speaker 12: it is Joey, whether it is Philip Grubauer plays a
- 47:32Speaker 12: really good game, good enough to get you to win,
- 47:35Speaker 12: and you don't end up getting them. And here's also
- 47:37Speaker 12: what I think is so frustrating for him is that
- 47:40Speaker 12: for the ups and downs he's been through really even
- 47:42Speaker 12: ever since a twenty twenty three playoff run where he
- 47:45Speaker 12: had a bit of a regression back you know, two
- 47:47Speaker 12: years ago. Last season it looked bleak for him going
- 47:50Speaker 12: down to Coachella Valley. Yeah, something clicked when he went
- 47:53Speaker 12: to work with Colin zu Leonello. The defense put in
- 47:56Speaker 12: place here this year under Lane Lambert. It opened up
- 47:58Speaker 12: a brand new you know, well a whole new picture
- 48:01Speaker 12: for Philip Grubauer. But yet showing up to work every day.
- 48:05Speaker 6: This is something I think that a lot of people
- 48:08Speaker 6: don't get the privilege here to notice is that no
- 48:10Speaker 6: matter wins or losses, he's consistent with.
- 48:14Speaker 1: His mental approach. That's what the ultimate pro is right there.
- 48:18Speaker 6: And I mean Philip Grubauer, I would say, I mean,
- 48:20Speaker 6: he's in your running for one of your most valuable
- 48:22Speaker 6: players on this team no matter what happens here with
- 48:24Speaker 6: seven games to go.
- 48:25Speaker 12: Hundred percent, if there was a vote for you know,
- 48:27Speaker 12: player of the Year for the Seattle Crack and he
- 48:28Speaker 12: would be up there for me. I think, you know, honestly,
- 48:31Speaker 12: he might get my vote just based on you know,
- 48:33Speaker 12: how his return from what he did last year the
- 48:37Speaker 12: last couple of years, to be honest, and he's finding
- 48:39Speaker 12: his form again. He's finding you know, that that Philip
- 48:43Speaker 12: Grubauer that we were used to seeing during the playoff
- 48:46Speaker 12: run in twenty twenty three. So I feel good about him.
- 48:49Speaker 12: The rest of the team, though, Mike, it's just it's frustrating.
- 48:52Speaker 12: It's frustrating because you know how important these games are,
- 48:55Speaker 12: and you almost like when we did our schedule roulette
- 48:59Speaker 12: or a few weeks ago, when I was last on
- 49:02Speaker 12: the postgame show, we were like, all right, which games
- 49:04Speaker 12: can you chalk up as a win for the Seattle
- 49:06Speaker 12: Kraken It was an easy yes for this Chicago game.
- 49:09Speaker 12: If there was any one where you would think that's
- 49:12Speaker 12: the most likely game to win, it was this game
- 49:15Speaker 12: versus the Chicago Blackhawks at home. They're already eliminated. You're
- 49:19Speaker 12: desperate for a playoff game, and you still can't pick
- 49:22Speaker 12: up the two points. Now, I realize it's the National
- 49:24Speaker 12: Hockey League. Any game is always going to be tough,
- 49:28Speaker 12: but this is just where we are at in the season.
- 49:31Speaker 12: You need to have a sense of urgency because it's
- 49:35Speaker 12: it's kind of crumbling around you. As the games go
- 49:38Speaker 12: on four to two.
- 49:39Speaker 6: Five, saying more roster moves here down in the future
- 49:42Speaker 6: is something that is desired as far as the physical
- 49:45Speaker 6: category of this year from the four to two five.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Separate four to two five as well.
- 49:49Speaker 6: If you're gonna go after big moves, well that really
- 49:51Speaker 6: accomplished what you really.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Want to get after that from the four to two five.
- 49:55Speaker 6: So we're getting a lot of reactions I think from
- 49:57Speaker 6: the big picture, do you want to go big moves
- 49:59Speaker 6: or do you want to open up spacer for the kids? Yeah,
- 50:02Speaker 6: once the season is all done, becaucause, I think certainly
- 50:05Speaker 6: compelling arguments can be made here for both cases one.
- 50:07Speaker 12: Hundred percent, And I'm not yet giving up on these
- 50:09Speaker 12: guys there it does look bleak in terms of their
- 50:12Speaker 12: likelihood to make the playoffs this year. So this current
- 50:15Speaker 12: iteration of the Seattle crack and can still you know,
- 50:19Speaker 12: go in a run make the playoffs and then you know,
- 50:21Speaker 12: do some damage there. But if we do get to
- 50:25Speaker 12: that point, there absolutely can be an argument made for
- 50:29Speaker 12: you know, kind of I don't want to say tank,
- 50:32Speaker 12: but you look at what Chicago's doing. They're gathering young talent,
- 50:35Speaker 12: They're not like competing for playoff spots right now, but
- 50:40Speaker 12: you know they're playing for their future. That's what the
- 50:42Speaker 12: Sharks have done, and they're just starting out to get
- 50:44Speaker 12: in their window. Same thing with Anaheim as of late.
- 50:47Speaker 12: Just those are just three teams in your conference that
- 50:51Speaker 12: have you know, gone that route and gone the young
- 50:54Speaker 12: guys play, the young guys go through their bumps, and
- 50:56Speaker 12: then eventually you're gonna start to get in your window.
- 50:58Speaker 12: The Kraken either have to go that route or get
- 51:02Speaker 12: some big moves to supplement an aging roster that you
- 51:06Speaker 12: just signed your thirty five year old captain to another
- 51:09Speaker 12: two year deal. So I don't know, honestly which way
- 51:12Speaker 12: they will go. I honestly think that it would be
- 51:17Speaker 12: better for the franchise moving forward to go the younger
- 51:20Speaker 12: player routes, but I don't know if they have the
- 51:22Speaker 12: appetite for that. This ownership group wants to win, So
- 51:25Speaker 12: we'll see what ends up happening.
- 51:26Speaker 6: UFA do for this offseason Jayden Schwartz five point five
- 51:30Speaker 6: million per year, Ellie Tolven and UFA three point four
- 51:33Speaker 6: million per year.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Bobby McMahon, Oh boy, what is he going to command?
- 51:36Speaker 1: This somseason?
- 51:37Speaker 6: But showing like he's worth it one point three to
- 51:40Speaker 6: five million per year ending up on his contract as well.
- 51:44Speaker 6: What's your reaction four nine, four or five one to

- 52:17Speaker 2: make sure we hear about it. Just text us at
- 52:20Speaker 2: four nine, four five one. Now back to Tucking Kracking
- 52:23Speaker 2: with Mike Benton on Sports Radio ninety three point three
- 52:27Speaker 2: kJ r.
- 52:28Speaker 6: F M four to two cracking foddle the Blackhawks again
- 52:31Speaker 6: to fall six points back of the cut line of
- 52:34Speaker 6: the Western Conference with seven games to play. Mike Benton
- 52:37Speaker 6: Andrews Hurst with you back at Tom's Washbar. Appreciate your
- 52:39Speaker 6: reaction again, folks, and again more of this curtisy the
- 52:42Speaker 6: Tacomadots chexs line two o six saying the krack and
- 52:45Speaker 6: need to score even if that player is to fish
- 52:48Speaker 6: in other areas as well. Just find someone who can
- 52:50Speaker 6: put the puck into the back of the net. A
- 52:52Speaker 6: from the two oh six separately two of six saying
- 52:55Speaker 6: time to sign a big name veteran afrom the two
- 52:58Speaker 6: oh six once again, more reaction back downstairs right now
- 53:02Speaker 6: with crackenhead coach Lane Lambert.
- 53:07Speaker 5: It's night skin.
- 53:10Speaker 26: Uh not enough, desperation didn't start the game well, and
- 53:17Speaker 26: our goaltender played fantastic for us, too many quality chances
- 53:24Speaker 26: from them, and.
- 53:28Speaker 5: Power play didn't give us anything, and our penalty kill
- 53:35Speaker 5: got scored on. So really.
- 53:38Speaker 26: Not a really overly great assessment of the game, you know,
- 53:43Speaker 26: in a game that we needed, just wasn't good enough.
- 53:49Speaker 21: Brandon Montour used the word flat to describe kind of
- 53:52Speaker 21: how the team looked and fell.
- 53:53Speaker 5: I mean, how do you wrap your head around that.
- 53:58Speaker 5: I can't. I can't.
- 54:03Speaker 26: A game of that magnitude to come out flat. Clearly,
- 54:09Speaker 26: the there's you know, there's something that has to.
- 54:14Speaker 27: Change, even with the context of them just kind of
- 54:21Speaker 27: coming out flat. Why do you think it's been such
- 54:23Speaker 27: a struggle offensively for so many of the guys. Is
- 54:26Speaker 27: it a hesitation thing, Is it like a commitment thing? Like,
- 54:29Speaker 27: what do you kind of see that.
- 54:30Speaker 26: I don't think there's a lot of confidence right now
- 54:32Speaker 26: in them, And so you know the old adages squeezing
- 54:36Speaker 26: your stick, not really feeling it.
- 54:41Speaker 5: Sometimes.
- 54:41Speaker 26: I think it's a situation where we're maybe trying too hard,
- 54:47Speaker 26: you know. But at the same time, I thought there
- 54:49Speaker 26: was some times tonight when we could have used a
- 54:52Speaker 26: break here or there. We had some opportunities we're just
- 54:58Speaker 26: not getting. We're not getting the time legal right now
- 55:01Speaker 26: to sort of turn things around for us. But I
- 55:05Speaker 26: just don't think there's a lot of confidence with our
- 55:07Speaker 26: hockey team right now. Obviously, when you lose all these games,
- 55:09Speaker 26: and certainly you know it's inexcusable to lose all these
- 55:13Speaker 26: games at.
- 55:13Speaker 27: Home, Obviously the players need to take some ownership of this,
- 55:18Speaker 27: and I think that they have. But how like what
- 55:20Speaker 27: can be done to change that, to change that shift,
- 55:24Speaker 27: whether that's in the room or something else.
- 55:26Speaker 26: You just got to keep just got to keep harping
- 55:29Speaker 26: on the right message. There's a message there, it's a
- 55:32Speaker 26: it's not the wrong message, and you know we've we've
- 55:37Speaker 26: tried a few different things to get our team going here,
- 55:42Speaker 26: and you know, at some point the message has to
- 55:45Speaker 26: resonate completely.
- 55:46Speaker 5: We're making mistakes that we we shouldn't make.
- 55:50Speaker 26: We're not moving pucks quick enough right now, certainly not
- 55:53Speaker 26: through the neutral zone anyway, and then it doesn't allow
- 55:56Speaker 26: us to establish our fu check.
- 55:58Speaker 5: So you know, from a coaching standpoint, I got to
- 56:03Speaker 5: be better. I'm clarius to it lane.
- 56:06Speaker 28: From a exces and oh standpoint, this late in the season,
- 56:09Speaker 28: what what can you change in order to try and
- 56:13Speaker 28: generate some confidence and trying to turn this around this time,
- 56:16Speaker 28: I think for.
- 56:17Speaker 26: Me right now, it's not even about ex's and o's.
- 56:19Speaker 26: It's about winning buck battles. We get into the corner
- 56:21Speaker 26: with teams and there's a scrum and we're not the
- 56:24Speaker 26: ones coming out with the buck and it happens over
- 56:27Speaker 26: and over again. So I don't think it's an x's
- 56:29Speaker 26: and those things thing. Necessarily. We are making some mistakes,
- 56:33Speaker 26: we're having some breakdowns, there's no question about it. So
- 56:35Speaker 26: you call that x's and o's, but I think there's
- 56:39Speaker 26: you know, there's a level of commitment and a level
- 56:43Speaker 26: of battle that we have to you know, we have
- 56:46Speaker 26: to we have to think about here and and talk
- 56:48Speaker 26: about moving forward.
- 56:50Speaker 28: Are you knowing the circumstances of what, especially these last
- 56:53Speaker 28: two games meant. Are you surprised by that lack of
- 57:00Speaker 28: fire or juice or battle?
- 57:04Speaker 5: I would just use one word, I'm disappointed.
- 57:10Speaker 6: That reaction from krack ahead coach Lane Lambert only needs
- 57:14Speaker 6: one word to describe this here as the crack and
- 57:17Speaker 6: fall forward to to the Blackhawks where accountability anders.
- 57:21Speaker 1: He sets the example and he said I have to
- 57:24Speaker 1: be better.
- 57:24Speaker 6: But then direct and blunt as he could say, it
- 57:28Speaker 6: was quote unquote inexcusable.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:30Speaker 12: And then the last, very last question there were you
- 57:33Speaker 12: surprised at the lack of fire? And he was given
- 57:36Speaker 12: the opportunity to say yes, but he did not. He
- 57:39Speaker 12: said he would use one word, disappointed. That tells me
- 57:43Speaker 12: he's not surprised. He's not surprised that this is happening.
- 57:47Speaker 12: Like I said, he's frustrated with his player's response. His
- 57:51Speaker 12: players leadership. A coach can only do so much. I
- 57:56Speaker 12: realize when you look at you know, how a team,
- 58:00Speaker 12: how players start a game if they always start slow.
- 58:04Speaker 12: A lot of times that can't be pointed to coaching.
- 58:07Speaker 12: I think that this is one of the exceptions because
- 58:10Speaker 12: you have to look at the player leadership. The players
- 58:13Speaker 12: have to go out and have that sense of urgency
- 58:15Speaker 12: and have that motivation within themselves to you're in a
- 58:20Speaker 12: playoff race right now. So that's why that was the
- 58:24Speaker 12: biggest telling factor to me. He was given every opportunity
- 58:27Speaker 12: to be like, yeah, I'm surprised, I don't know what's
- 58:29Speaker 12: going on with our guys.
- 58:31Speaker 1: No, He's like, this is exactly kind of what I expected.
- 58:35Speaker 6: It seems like the stage will be fascinating here for
- 58:38Speaker 6: Monday against Winnipeg, fascinating as well for the final seven
- 58:42Speaker 6: games of the regular season as the Kraken take on
- 58:45Speaker 6: the Jets who are gonna making a push themselves as
- 58:48Speaker 6: well in this playoff race. And that will be our
- 58:51Speaker 6: next broadcast again coming up on Monday. Certainly hope that
- 58:53Speaker 6: you can join us. I'll be with Al Koniski in
- 58:55Speaker 6: the booth. This guy here, am I right, gonna be
- 58:57Speaker 6: back in Network Central, So you're gonna kill it.
- 58:59Speaker 1: As usually, Thank you so much, but you are going
- 59:01Speaker 1: to destroy that play. I appreciate it.
- 59:03Speaker 6: I appreciate you. Ever, it will be on TV. I'll
- 59:05Speaker 6: be without here for the radio side as well. Four
- 59:08Speaker 6: thirty face off pregame and four hope that you can
- 59:10Speaker 6: certainly join us. That will do it though for now,
- 59:13Speaker 6: big thanks to you and your reaction as well. Also
- 59:15Speaker 6: to Travis Mulger, our technical director, and Terry Ryan are
- 59:19Speaker 6: on site engineer.
- 59:20Speaker 1: That's it here for tonight for Andrews.
- 59:22Speaker 6: First, this is Mike Benton saying good night from Tom's
- 59:25Speaker 6: Watch Bar and from Climbing Pledge Arena, and thank you
- 59:27Speaker 6: for joining us. Your final score once again Blackhawks four
- 59:31Speaker 6: cracking two. This is Talking Cracking on ninety three to
- 59:34Speaker 6: three KJRFM
