Latest / OneLegUpAlex Media / How VotifyNow Aspires to Have One Leg Up On Election Integrity
Transcript
- 0:00All right, Well, I gotta be honest. One of the big things
- 0:03that I really do want to see in the twenty four election, and if
- 0:08people worted things differently, election integrity would be on the top of everybody's mind,
- 0:13as it should be. And it seems like it's on the tip of
- 0:16my next guest, Johnny Vieira's mind. That's why he's created the app votified
- 0:21Now. And I think I think Johnny, I'd like to say, one
- 0:25leg up, you might be having one leg up on election integrity. Tell
- 0:28us about this app and thanks for joining me today. Yeah, absolutely,
- 0:32thanks for having me. Yeah. Votify Now is it basically a platform that
- 0:38I'd say the inception started probably before even twenty twenty. I got to thinking
- 0:45around twenty sixteen, when people like Stacy Abrams was more fresh on our minds.
- 0:52Hillary Clinton, you know, the left was certainly talking about election issues
- 0:57long before twenty twenty. We started this build around twenty nineteen to try to
- 1:00give both the left and the right. It's a nonpartisan, bipartisan excuse me
- 1:07app or I guess you could say nonpartisan, And the whole idea was for
- 1:12us to just bring more transparency to elections. We don't. We We're just
- 1:19basically we aggregate incidents that are happening that users are reporting in their area,
- 1:26and then in a real specific and secure way, we share these incidents with
- 1:32everybody in the area so that everyone gets a quick view within minutes, and
- 1:37it's all in real time. Everybody could take a look and see what's happening
- 1:41around them, and it might they might change or alter their voting plans based
- 1:46on what's happening in their communities. So that's the core of what votify now
- 1:52does. It does do several other functionalities. There's a canvassing tool, there
- 1:57is a section to voted to city council and school supervisor elections and meetings.
- 2:05There's said we have a border concern with the borders being open, but these,
- 2:12especially as we get closer to important election cycles, these these these other
- 2:19areas are sort of on the back burner because the whole ballgame is election integrity
- 2:23and that's what we're focused on. We absolutely don't get involved in influencing anybody's
- 2:30vote. In fact, that is a taboo around here. No, I'm
- 2:34talking purely about where someone might vote or how they might what stop are they
- 2:38going to do in early is their problems with early mailand do they one to
- 2:43do the day of So I'll give you a perfect example. Let me give
- 2:46you a quick synopsis of the two functionalities the votify Now does. A user
- 2:53downloads the app and we encourage everybody to download if they can go to App
- 2:57Store for their iPhone or Google Play Store for their Android phone, or go
- 3:00to our website which is a hub of information and the download links. That's
- 3:06votify now dot org and vote if I spelled botify now. But the two
- 3:13functionalities, as a user would go, they would download the app, make
- 3:17sure that you check your junk and spam folder for the verification code. We
- 3:22get so many people asking as words by verification code. But once they have
- 3:25the app, they can go to the electron Integrity section and they could very
- 3:29easily report a description of what they're seeing as far as what they're suspecting of
- 3:35nefarious or maybe they just don't know what they're seeing so they're reporting something that
- 3:38could be perfectly harmless. They report the incident, they could take a quick
- 3:44photo or up to a thirty second video of the incident, and then it's
- 3:49automatically timestamped and GEO targeted where they're apt and that they hit the submit button,
- 3:55that incident comes to our secured servers. All this has all happened through
- 4:00APIs, it's split seconds. And then once we have the incident again within
- 4:06seconds, we have some real smart functionality that sort of looks for false flags.
- 4:13And I can't obviously publicly tell you what our defenses are against fake or
- 4:17false flags. We don't want to give the bad guys you know, our
- 4:21plans. But we vet these incidents and then we go ahead and we turn
- 4:27around and we put the incident on the user. All the users in the
- 4:32area's phone. So if you're in New York and you I don't know your
- 4:38county's out there, but you're in a county in the state of New York,
- 4:43you report an incident and it will automatically that incident gets turned into a
- 4:48dot, and the dot gets placed exactly where the incident happened on the map,
- 4:55so that other users can go onto the app, they go to view
- 5:00the additional incident section, and there they'll see where they're located, and they'll
- 5:05see these dots around them. The dots represent all the reports. They're color
- 5:11coded red being the most nefarious all the way, yellow orange being lesser serious,
- 5:20and then white being sort of a benign. We have a brand new
- 5:24dot, by the way, called blue, a blue dot which is an
- 5:27It means it's unverified. We're still in the middle of verifying it, but
- 5:30we decided we're going to share it anyways. The reason these dots are so
- 5:33helpful is that when the user goes to the additional Incidents so again the app
- 5:39is used to report incidents or also go check and see what's happening around them.
- 5:45And once the user opens up the additional incident section, they see themselves,
- 5:49they see the dots around them, and then they click the dot and
- 5:53the full description of the incident, along with the photo and video opens up
- 5:58and the users can see what's happening in real time. So maybe they were
- 6:02planning on voting in the north part of town and there's a bunch of red
- 6:06dots meaning all kinds of a various activity. Well, if they have the
- 6:10option, I don't know if New York New York City has it, but
- 6:13if different counties around the country have the option to vote in multiple places,
- 6:17maybe they might choose to vote somewhere else or do something different based on the
- 6:23information that they're seeing. We don't influence anybody. We just share what other
- 6:28voters in the area are doing in a real fast way so that maybe people
- 6:33can avoid long lines, or maybe people are reporting broken voting machines or whatever
- 6:40the situation is. All we do is share that in a real timely manner.
- 6:45We let yeah, we let people see what is being shared so they
- 6:47can make their own decisions. Well, a couple of things here that feels
- 6:53like the Citizen app here in New York, where we get to see exactly
- 6:56like a pinpointed hut zone if you will on the Citizen appen, I don't
- 7:00know if you're if you of the crimes, yeah, exactly. So it
- 7:04is kind is something like it is something like that. It is something similar,
- 7:10but we go into the weeds a bit, and we're not controlled by
- 7:14any state or municipalities. This is a sort of private citizen app. And
- 7:21also it's decentralized, not controlled by any one party. But for example,
- 7:27we would give the State of New York the access to work with all the
- 7:33app users in New York. We don't want one company controlling all this information
- 7:39that comes in from the APP. So the goal of the APP is to
- 7:44section off all these different counties or states so that the proper officials and party
- 7:49leaders can have access to working with their own constituents helping out you know.
- 7:57So basically, in the best case scenario, a secretary of state would have
- 8:01their votifying out for their state and they could be the ones responsible for helping
- 8:07out their voters in what could potentially be problems. We don't you ever use
- 8:13certain terms, but there is election irregularities. I think it's safe to say
- 8:18abnormalities, and we just present them to the users and allow them to make
- 8:26their own decisions and whenever you go ahead, Sorry, if politicians use that
- 8:31term irregularity or election integrity, obviously it may not be spicy, right,
- 8:35It sounds a little more how you say, It sounds a little more academic
- 8:41to say. But yeah, but that would get the point across even more
- 8:46than just saying this word or that word, right. I feel like they
- 8:48don't touch it the right way. And you'd agree with me, yeah,
- 8:52one hundred percent. And if I have another quick minute, I'd like to
- 8:56share with you the second functionality, which is equally important that first one,
- 9:01with the incidents being turned into dots on a map so that voters can see.
- 9:07The second thing we do is all the incidents, they're also vetted,
- 9:11and then they're turned into PDF reports, and we send these PDF reports the
- 9:16incidents. They're all filed properly, inner report. We send these reports out
- 9:22to party officials, law enforcement, independent journalists. We send the incidents every
- 9:28thirty minutes on election day to those officials so that they're seeing what's happening in
- 9:35their communities in real time and they can make decisions. No longer do we
- 9:41think anybody, any candidates should find out any election irregularities days later. We
- 9:46want them hearing about anything that's happening at nine o'clock. We want them to
- 9:52know about it by nine thirty am, and we put another report out and
- 9:56so on throughout the day so that party leaders, journalists, law enforcement can
- 10:03can look into these things and be kept up to speed. So that's sort
- 10:07of the mission of votify Now. We were very active in the midterms for
- 10:11twenty twenty two. We our evidence that was generated from votify Now was key
- 10:18in the carry Lake case, even though of course we cannot be we're not
- 10:22involved in the outcome. The judge can do whatever they want, but we
- 10:24were the ones that gave her legal team. Carry Lake's legal team the incidents
- 10:30about the misprinter ballots shrink to fit, not fitting in the in the machines
- 10:35properly. That was a votify now incident and that was the staple of their
- 10:41case. Again, we can't control whether they win or lose, but we
- 10:45did accomplish our mission in getting evidence and having evidence used in a case.
- 10:50So it's a two prong approach. We supply evidence to the authorities and Kennedy
- 10:58teams, and we also give the users this information in real time to help
- 11:05them. And votify Now has been very successful of doing those two things all
- 11:09right. Obviously in New York we are eight million people. There's a lot
- 11:13of frustration on voting day, even in the early voting, all the lines
- 11:16through the blocks, and are you telling me votify now could possibly help you
- 11:20figure out which is the best what do they call voting precinct? I guess
- 11:26you'd say polling places to go in your district there. Well, again,
- 11:31not being familiar with every single precinct in the country, I don't know if
- 11:37the particular area you're talking about there's only one place that you could vote.
- 11:41Some places they dedicate a specific precinct location that if you live in this area,
- 11:46you vote here. Others let you pick. So I can't speak to
- 11:52that specifically, but what I can tell you is if someone wants information on
- 11:56that precinct, I can guarantee you there's probably been some votify now users already
- 12:03reporting on that location. And then again, whatever the user wants to do
- 12:07is purely up to them. All we do is present them with the information
- 12:13in a timely manner, and I'm talking about within minutes, so that they
- 12:16can they can make their own decisions. Again, some places, I think
- 12:20the voters still has to go to their location. And we don't pretend to
- 12:24solve every problem. We're only just trying to help the process a little bit
- 12:30with transparency and quick information. And we feel that if we could even make
- 12:35a small difference in strengthening election integrity, then we've sort of, you know,
- 12:41we've completed our mission and we've done our civic duty. Well, I
- 12:46gotta say those are debate this week. So I think mindsets are starting to
- 12:48turn into twenty twenty four almost every day, right, So, New We're
- 12:52looking, We're really looking for users in New Jersey for you. You guys
- 12:56have an upcoming November election. I'm not sure if it's a gutatorial race,
- 13:03but I know New Jersey's got an important election. So please New Jersey ands
- 13:07sign up for votify Now. And if you see something, say something reported
- 13:11on the app, well I'm glad, I'm glad. We're gonna we're gonna
- 13:13pinpoint New Jersey on this. But I gotta ask you this. I feel
- 13:18like you have this mission as the founder CEO of votify Now, to instill
- 13:24voter confidence again, because we do know that voter confidence is quite low.
- 13:28I don't know if that's a buzzword that will cancel this podcast, but it's
- 13:31a truth. There's a lack of voter confidence and maybe this app's gonna help
- 13:35instill more confidence in our elections. There is a lack I mean, we
- 13:39get thousands of emails a week and there is a major lack of confidence.
- 13:46And again, all we do is try to boost that confidence by by just
- 13:52shining a light on it. Votifying nowt could be looked at as just a
- 13:56light that we try to shine on whatever's happening. And by the way,
- 14:01if there's no irregularities, then there'll be no reports, so there'll be nothing
- 14:05to see when anybody opens up the report. So if everything is crystal clear
- 14:11elections, then beautiful. By the way, we're hoping that everything is clean
- 14:16and there's no reports coming in, But if there is anything coming in that
- 14:20looks suspicious and we feel as a genuine incident, we're going to share it
- 14:24and we'll let voters decide what they want to do with that information. We
- 14:28all know, to be honest, how the media feels about the election integrity
- 14:31and they sometimes shy away from it. And is that a tussle to get
- 14:35this out to the media or do you find it an easy connection with them?
- 14:39Hey, we got this incident, can you report on the news?
- 14:41Like, how does that work? Well, that's a great point, and
- 14:43that's a really good question. So right now we have had our challenges getting
- 14:50our friends on the left to embrace the app only because right now I think
- 14:56the term quote election integrity not popular with the left. But I certainly remember
- 15:03Stacy abrams gubatorial race. I believe it was twenty sixteen, and I remember
- 15:09hearing a lot of stuff about election problems then. And also I remember Hillary
- 15:16Clinton mentioning a lot of issues in twenty sixteen, so it wasn't always where
- 15:22it was just conservatives talking about election integrity. But you are right, we
- 15:28do have a lot of conservative users, but the app is definitely a bipartisan
- 15:35app. We definitely encourage anyone on the left or the right to report anything
- 15:41that they think might be worth sharing. And I'm really hoping and planning in
- 15:46the future to get more incidents from the left. Johnny, I'm sure people,
- 15:52I'm sure you're well known in these circles with this app and whatnot,
- 15:56but maybe people don't know your story, how you wanted to start this app.
- 16:00Maybe you face some motor frustration over the years, even just watching the
- 16:03news, like what what inspired me to do this? Now? Unfortunately I
- 16:07don't have any story that sexy. No, I'm I'm I'm really not a
- 16:12political guy. I come from an inventor, entrepreneur, startup background, so
- 16:18pretty much ever since I was a kid, and a lot of founders,
- 16:23can you know, whether it's a you know, a Zuckenberg or a base
- 16:29they all it's almost the same story. You know, you you try,
- 16:34You're always trying to solve a problem. Most things fail, especially when it's
- 16:38a business model. And this is all I've ever done. Pretty much dropped
- 16:45out of college, you know, and this is pretty much all I've ever
- 16:48done. I built my first little company when I was a teenager, probably
- 16:53fourteen years old, and they were still selling which I'm you know, aging
- 17:00myself a bit. They were still selling cellular phone products. So I tried
- 17:04to create a catchy name called ABC America's Best Cellular Products, and funny enough
- 17:11that it was actually a red, white and blue logo with the country,
- 17:15you know, America's Best. That's a funny coincidence. That was the very
- 17:18first company I started, where I would buy stuff. Originally I'd have to
- 17:26buy stuff, you know, retail almost prices, and then mark it up
- 17:30and would That was my first business, a little brick and mortar. Eventually
- 17:36I found a wholesaler overseas and was bringing stuff in, but I wasn't even
- 17:41I was in high school. And then eventually went into other other areas.
- 17:47Most recently, I built a large platform for a financial company who wanted to
- 17:52modernize their brick and mortar. It was called Tribe Fluence. It's still live
- 17:57and in fact the company never used it, but they did, they did
- 18:03acquire it. They ended up giving it back to me, which was a
- 18:07whole that's a whole another story because they just that with COVID and most of
- 18:10the staff they had to layoffs, so they said, we don't want this
- 18:12to go to waste. But it was a big It was a big system
- 18:15similar to voti fy. Now. It solved a problem that this financial company
- 18:21had, and it was the same sort of thing. There was a big
- 18:23web, a website that held everything, and then there was an app for
- 18:27Android and iPhone and we the app performed a solution to this financial company's problem.
- 18:36So that was around twenty eighteen that that sort of they acquired and took
- 18:41that over, and then by nineteen it gave me the time to focus on
- 18:47my next thing. And I knew election integrity was something I wanted to conquer.
- 18:52I felt a personal kind of duty. And this is even before twenty
- 18:57twenty, so I guess I was a little ahead of my tongue, but
- 19:00I knew that I had the right solution in my head. But of course,
- 19:06trying to digitize all that, even with the full development team, still
- 19:10took about three and a half years to build this. We went live about
- 19:15two years ago, and of course it was a clunky release with lots of
- 19:18bugs. But by the time the mid terms came around in twenty twenty two,
- 19:22we were up and functioning. We had thousands of reports coming across the
- 19:26country. Unfortunately, we want a big enough name that a lot of the
- 19:30candidates were using. Our info was used in the Kerry Lake trial. But
- 19:36for these upcoming elections in November of twenty twenty three, I believe it's Virginia,
- 19:41New Jersey, Kentucky, and Louisiana. We really are focusing on him
- 19:45in a strong presence. And then of course we're going to really be ready
- 19:49to go full guns blazing for the general in twenty twenty four. Do you
- 19:55hope this happ inspires the generations after you and me and others to get to
- 20:00the polls? Is this app going to help revolutionize the gen zers? I
- 20:03mean that they can get to the polls that one of Is that a hope
- 20:06for you? Well, we certainly would love to be a part of that.
- 20:11We don't think necessarily one platform can do such a monumental thing, but
- 20:17sure we would like to be a part of that movement to get people motivated.
- 20:22And the great thing about votify now is it lets the everyday citizen be
- 20:25involved in sort of citizen policing elections or at least, you know, citizen
- 20:32journalism, being able to report what they're seeing and then share it with others.
- 20:36And that's what that's what votify Now was made to do, and we
- 20:41do think that it will inspire people to get more involved. We've already got
- 20:45a lot of people excited about it and we've had some great interviews John Solomon,
- 20:51just the News, those guys just did a big piece on us,
- 20:53and it's the user base has grown. We've probably got somewhere between two hundred
- 21:00and five hundred thousand users. We're looking to get to about two million to
- 21:04three million users by the general and we're on track to hit that mark and
- 21:08that's where we'll make a significant difference. All Right, a lot of apps
- 21:14today are facing the whole do they censor people? Do they not? And
- 21:18let's be honest, you have to stay on these big tech platforms. As
- 21:21we were discussing a bit off air, so the users start saying, oh,
- 21:25well this word, that word, are they allowed to stay on or
- 21:27do are there rules to how you can report so you guys can keep that
- 21:32platform. That's an interesting question. No, well, I'm glad you brought
- 21:37that up. We encourage everybody to download the app now, as soon as
- 21:42possible, share it with everybody, because once you download the app, you've
- 21:47got the app forever. What we can't control is if the app ever gets
- 21:52removed or pushed off of one of these app stores. But we follow the
- 21:59rules and their ts, their terms of service to the t and both Google
- 22:03play Store and Android excuse me an app store are extremely strict about following.
- 22:11So there is nothing on our apps that are not with the blessing of those
- 22:18agencies. And again, we're doing nothing more than just letting people share information.
- 22:23But if you're asking me, would we if someone is trying to report
- 22:29bogus information, would we tolerate it? Probably not. If we catch anybody
- 22:34trying to plant a false flag, I can guarantee you they're instantly deleted,
- 22:40not even we're not even gonna have a conversation with them, because if you're
- 22:42planting a fake incident, you've got extremely nefarious intentions. It's not now,
- 22:49and that's completely separate than somebody reporting something that's just benign and harmless. You
- 22:57know that we probably it probably gets wiped out before it even hits us,
- 23:03because we have some AI and some smart functionality that's really looking at things closely
- 23:08before it ever makes it to us. It's sort of vetted or being a
- 23:14bot or you know. But assuming it makes it to us, if it
- 23:18looks harmless, we will report it. We'll share it anyways. And again
- 23:22that's where the color coding of the dots come into place. That kind of
- 23:26an incident that we can't tell it looks probably harmless, but we don't think
- 23:32somebody's up to no good. We don't think someone's planting a false flag.
- 23:36Then we would give a white dot, and that means that this is probably
- 23:40a harmless or of a nign incident. I think yellow is the next level,
- 23:45which would mean it's the next stage orange, and then red means this
- 23:49is probably something suspicious. People should probably take a look. Now, we
- 23:53don't want our users to only look at red incidents red dots, but that's
- 23:59why we did the color coding. And then again a brand new feature is
- 24:04the blue dot. And the reason this is so important is because some incidents
- 24:10take longer to verify than others, yet still might be valuable. So we've
- 24:15created this blue dot, which means the incident has been reported, it hasn't
- 24:21been thoroughly vetted otherwise, it hasn't gone through all the processes that it does
- 24:25to get a color code. But we still let the user pop up box
- 24:29appears and says, hey, this is still being vetted. Do you still
- 24:33want to take a look at it? The user can say yes or no.
- 24:36And then also we will let the users report as a fake. If
- 24:42the user feels that that unverified incident is a fake incident, we let them
- 24:47report it. And of course I can't give the number out, but if
- 24:51there is a certain number of reports on incidents being reported as a fake,
- 24:56then it calls our attention over to take a closer look at that incident,
- 25:00and if we feel that it's not a genuine incident, we will remove it.
- 25:04So that's why the that's the purpose of the blue unverified dot, which
- 25:10is very important. Well, Johnny Vierre are real fast, you know.
- 25:15Obviously it's a big deal to be NEME to be in that involved with the
- 25:21carry Lake case and what she's fighting down there. Johnny A couple of things.
- 25:25There's there's a push to get the lever right back to the lever form
- 25:27of voting, where he Puss pull the lever and whatever else to the high
- 25:32tech stuff goes out the window slash, paper ballots come back in. Will
- 25:36that put you out of business? Or are we What I mean by that
- 25:38is, would paper ballots be the answer? Or is this I don't see
- 25:44that happening soon. Sorry for interrupting me. There no words happening soon.
- 25:48And by the way, if there's anything that puts election irregularities or abnormalities,
- 25:56if there's anything that puts that out of business, I'll be the first to
- 26:00vote for I'll be the first in line. So that's one of those things.
- 26:03We should be so lucky that everything goes so clean that there's no need
- 26:07for votify now. So no, I don't feel that way at all.
- 26:11And I don't see that happening in the next two election cycles. Maybe twenty
- 26:19thirty two, I don't know, Maybe twenty twenty eight, I doubt it.
- 26:23That's that's a very complex issue, and that's way beyond my pay grade.
- 26:27I don't I'm not a politician, and I don't get involved in that.
- 26:30I'm a problem solver and Votify now is just solving the problem of voter
- 26:38lack of voter confidence and trying to make these election issues more transparent. We're
- 26:47more folks can see what's going on quicker, so that maybe it helps them
- 26:52understand what's happening and they can make decisions on how they want or where they
- 26:57want to go. Again, it's up to them. All we do is
- 27:00present the information that others are reporting. We've got no horse in the race
- 27:07as they say, or dog in the race, whatever the expression is.
- 27:12Johnny Viera, you mentioned that this is a bipartisan app. So have you
- 27:18gotten Washington's sam of approval? Have you gotten senators and congress people to notice
- 27:23the votifi app or you know what's left? Do you mean on the left?
- 27:27You mentioned bipartisan? Well, yeah, because it sounds like you guys
- 27:30are sort of a bipartisan app. So does that mean you have biparson voters
- 27:34or actually approval on both sides too. We're still a pretty new so three
- 27:41years is brand new in the app game. Yeah, the twenty twenty two,
- 27:47the elections that are coming about ten months ago, that was our first
- 27:51real proof of concept. So I would say again, ask me that question.
- 27:56After twenty twenty four, we're just now getting to the point where we're
- 28:03getting party leaders. Yeah, we're not We're not that well. Now we're
- 28:07probably the most well known because votify Now has been around the longest. There
- 28:12is no other election election integrity app. There is a bunch of these b
- 28:18s. I almost cursed because I get so enraged. There's a bunch of
- 28:22these b s election integrity websites that people claim, you know, you can
- 28:30report something. Really, all it is is a WordPress website that somebody,
- 28:33you know, my nine year old needs could build the word press website in
- 28:37a day, you know, and you could report the incident. And then
- 28:41of course they have a bunch of donate buttons. So that's for the most
- 28:45part, all there is out there besides votify Now. So we're finally starting
- 28:49to rise above the noise. People realize, Okay, this is the real
- 28:53deal. Also, we don't take any donations. We don't take a dime.
- 28:59Doesn't mean that I wouldn't, you know, bring on a Peter Field
- 29:03or a you know, insert your big superdnor's name here. It's like it
- 29:10doesn't mean we wouldn't do that. We need at some point help because we
- 29:15can't just keep you know, funding everything out of my pot. It doesn't
- 29:18work that way, you know, it wouldn't. It could not sustain.
- 29:25But that said, I refuse to take donations, especially with people hurting out
- 29:30there. There's no way we're going to take just a regular family who's concerned
- 29:33about their elections. There's no way we're taking their money. They shouldn't have
- 29:37those election concerns. So it's sure as long money I love. I love
- 29:42that idea. They shouldn't be concerned with the way they the election process and
- 29:48the voting concerns. All right, You mentioned John Solomon. He's a friend
- 29:53of the radio station I work where he comes on a lot. But what
- 29:56about the liberal side, I mean, can they come on? And especially
- 30:00I'm thinking of like democracy now with Amy Goodman. Isn't preserving democracy like what
- 30:03you guys are about? Come on, they tell you, let me tell
- 30:07you something, man, oh man, if you knew how hard I've tried,
- 30:11and I'm gonna keep trying to get the left mainstream media. By the
- 30:17way, I'm one hundred percent convinced they will start talking about it very soon.
- 30:22It's one of those things that they'll ignore you till they can't ignore you.
- 30:26But we certainly make an effort to try and get them to talk.
- 30:32And by the way, I'm one hundred percent prepared to be interviewed by a
- 30:36mainstream media outlet and be and I'm ready to be grilled and thrown under the
- 30:41bus, you know, I'm ready. It's funny to me that these media
- 30:44outlets are saying how democracy is dead now because of a certain someone in the
- 30:48White House from four years ago, yet they don't want to take the steps
- 30:52to ensure democracy, which means me leads me to my next question, Johnny
- 30:56Vieira, our republic or a democracy? I think that's the told debate,
- 31:00isn't it. I don't that's a Civics one oh one question. I think
- 31:03the right answer is a republic. But again, I don't claim to be
- 31:08any scholar. I mean, even though that's a basic question, I'm purely
- 31:12a problem solver and I've got a knack of being able to do it now
- 31:19technically, which of course, everything happens online. If you're trying to solve
- 31:25problems, unless you're building a brick, you have people on the ground in
- 31:30every city or is it just you or how does that work? Well,
- 31:33I'm not going to get into details on how big our reach is, but
- 31:37we've got hundred of thousands of users, and I will share one important aspect.
- 31:42If anybody goes to votify now dot org, there's an explainer video that's
- 31:47brand new. It automatically plays when you go to votify now dot org and
- 31:52you can also download the app there and in that video it explains how the
- 31:56app works, and then equally important, it talks about our co admin panel.
- 32:01The co admin panel is well, an admin panel is the back end
- 32:07that controls the app. That's where you can set the functionality. And we've
- 32:13intentionally we created a co admin panel with the pure intentions of giving making this
- 32:19decentralized so that every state or county can have their own access and work with
- 32:25their own constituents, their own states app users. So it's a co admin
- 32:31looks just like the admin panel that the master admin panel to votify now uses,
- 32:37but we give them a copy of it and we assign the state to
- 32:40them. So that's the endgame is complete decentralization where every state or a group
- 32:50of counties within the state. However, works out could have their own co
- 32:53admin access and work directly with their users. Now. Right now, we
- 33:00don't have a lot of that again because it's still relatively new, but that's
- 33:04the plan, and we would we would give access to folks on the left
- 33:09and the right that access because we monitor and we could quickly see if anybody
- 33:16is up to any you know, funny business. Once we hand them over
- 33:22the admin access to the voter voter and app users in their state, we
- 33:30could quickly see if they're up to any funny business, in which case we
- 33:32at the click of a button, we shut up their access and they would
- 33:36no longer have access. But other than that, we do not get involved.
- 33:39If you are a Secretary of State and you take over voterify, now
- 33:44you would get access to the coadmin panel. You would create a username and
- 33:49a password, and then you can go ahead and change your password to a
- 33:52private password that we don't have access to, and you could go ahead and
- 33:55work with your own app users in your area. Again, as long as
- 34:00we would just check in. We have certain things. Again, I can't
- 34:02get give up company secrets. We have certain things that would sense not not
- 34:07an algorithm, but other things we use to detect if there's, for example,
- 34:13if there's mass deleting happening of incidents. So we have certain things that
- 34:16would get triggered to make sure that we're not handing it to any bad actors
- 34:22handing the access. But it would be open to any party leaders on both
- 34:27the left and the right, because in my opinion, the app won't truly
- 34:30be successful the platform, I should say, until it is embraced by both
- 34:36sides of the aisle, and that's that's the mission. Well, I'm so
- 34:38glad you mentioned secretaries of state. Obviously last election a lot of secretaries of
- 34:45state were under fire, if you will, by both sides. So is
- 34:51it important to have that that connection, like, hey, you know you
- 34:53want to put on a healthy election for your state, Hey, get in
- 34:59touch with us. That would be a big step, wouldn't it. Yeah.
- 35:00Well, by the way, I'm glad you mentioned that. So I
- 35:04was working with or had a relationship with Mark Fincham when he was running for
- 35:08Secretary of State Arizona, and he was a great endorser. He was talking
- 35:15about votify now leading up to his election, and it was amazing because by
- 35:22him speaking about it. It really gave us a lot of users. That's
- 35:24why we encourage, we try so hard to get involved with these candidates,
- 35:29because when the candidates talk about the app, their potential constituents listen, and
- 35:35it only can help the candidates by people reporting anything they see that they feel
- 35:39is you know, suspicious, let's call it now. That would have been
- 35:45a perfect pilot program. If Fincham would have got in a secretary of state,
- 35:52the plan would have been that he would have got one of these you
- 35:54know, co admin access and he would be using him and his team would
- 35:59be using votify now as part of their I'm sure part of their fuller would
- 36:01be I'd be one spoke in the wheel. I'm sure of you know what
- 36:06they're doing. I don't. Again, that's above my pay grade. But
- 36:08but they would have used it, and he would have handled Arizona, and
- 36:13Arizona would have officially been off of the voter Finals things to do list,
- 36:17you know. So unfortunately he did not get in, and and we are
- 36:23we have not been asked by their new secretary of state. I think his
- 36:29name is flint As, but certainly it's available, you know. Again,
- 36:35we make the app the co admin access available for any leaders, whether they're
- 36:39on the left or the right. Well, Johnny, I hope I didn't
- 36:43confuse a listener by asking these questions. But I get where you're coming from
- 36:45that it's only citizen based. We want to have people having an easier election
- 36:50experience on the ground as a voter, not so much as an officials.
- 36:54Right, everything citizen based were just helping out well by the way we do.
- 37:00We do offer to get involved with the candidates, but then the candidates
- 37:02would make would use votify now is just one of their many tools, and
- 37:07then they decide what they want to do with that information. We just present
- 37:10them again, think of votify now is a light that we shine in real
- 37:15time on what's happening, and we feel that that's what's missing right now in
- 37:20elections. So we're just open to make things more transparent. And again,
- 37:27if there's nothing to see there, if there's no there there, then beautiful.
- 37:30That would be a good thing. All right. I feel like we
- 37:35have to have you back because I can talk about this and obviously you're launching
- 37:37this press tour if you will now on the Heroes of the Big Year coming
- 37:42up in twenty four. Well, let's also be an effector in the primary
- 37:45season as well. Sure, but mostly for well the special elections coming up
- 37:53in those four states that I name, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey,
- 37:57Virginia. That's November twenty twenty three. But certainly we are involved months ahead
- 38:02of time. With early mailing. We had a lot leading up to the
- 38:06mid terms. We had many, many people reporting issues on mailing. You
- 38:10wouldn't believe the stuff that we got. People like I've received ten bot or
- 38:17there's a pile of ballots in my apartment complex, a stack of them,
- 38:22you know, a hundred or or other abnormalities of someone telling me they got
- 38:29and by the way, they provide the evidence. They showed the image getting
- 38:32a text from this from from the officials. It's happened a lot in Arizona
- 38:37where they would get a text saying, this is you know, so and
- 38:39so election board. We want to let you know that we received your ballot
- 38:45and verified your signature, so know that your vote has counted. And then
- 38:50they would pan over and show their ballot in their hand, not even sent
- 38:54out yet, and I thought, wow, like, you know, that
- 38:59doesn't seem I think that might go into the orange or red category as suspicious,
- 39:05because how do you get told that your vote was counted and you're sitting
- 39:09here holding your ballot in your hand. You know, it's like it's unbelievable.
- 39:16There's no there's no way votify now works. If we have to be
- 39:21behind any red tape, it would we be dead in the water. The
- 39:24whole idea of Votify now being run by people for the people, a citizens
- 39:30tool, is that there is no red tape, and that's how we're able
- 39:36to share things instantly with people because there's no government red tape. That's you
- 39:42know, it's just here's what someone's And by the way, we're not doing
- 39:45anything different than what somebody would go to vote and then they post something a
- 39:51picture on Twitter and say, hey, you guys, this is weird.
- 39:52Look onto it. I mean that happens. We're just trying to really scale
- 39:57that up to happen nationwide. Well, Johnny Vieira, thanks so much,
- 40:05and we will definitely have you back on As this app is is out there,
- 40:08I'm going to download it myself, check it out and I'll let you
- 40:10know how it is. Please do and I appreciate the time and encourage everybody
- 40:15to download votify now. That's spelled vot I f y n OW. Go
- 40:22to votify now dot org or all the information and links, or go to
- 40:25your app store for your particular phone and download it. And I appreciate the
- 40:30time, Thank you so much. That was Johnny Vieira. He has one
- 40:34leg up on the election integrity with votify Now. Stay tuned for more on
