- 0:49Hello everyone.
- 0:50Welcome to the inner talks episode 34.
- 0:54And do you think, oh, this is different than I used to?
- 0:56Yes, it's different.
- 0:59Today I'm both.
- 1:00And Lubov, uh, aka Love46, well known by everyone, is the guest.
- 1:08Welcome.
- 1:09Welcome, everyone.
- 1:10Hello, hello.
- 1:11Uh, a bit different in the talks today, so I'm not a host.
- 1:16So happy to be here.
- 1:17Yes, that's great to hear.
- 1:20I'm happy to have you here.
- 1:22And, uh, how is it for you to be the guest now instead of the host?
- 1:28Oh, great experience, you know, to be on the other side.
- 1:32So not to be a host for one in a talk.
- 1:35It's great.
- 1:36So feels a bit different for me, definitely.
- 1:40Yeah, a bit more relaxed, I think.
- 1:43You're sitting now.
- 1:44Yes, yes.
- 1:48Well, let's start by the beginning.
- 1:50I know you started very young, around nine years old.
- 1:54How did you get introduced by the cartoon world?
- 1:58Because you started in real life first and then went over to the sim.
- 2:03How did you start with cartoon?
- 2:05Where did you find it in the beginning?
- 2:09Yeah, so I started from karting when I was nine years old.
- 2:12I still remember we went to rent karting with my dad and He just let
- 2:18me try it for once and i'm like, okay.
- 2:21Yeah, I really like it and he just suggests me that We can start to
- 2:26do championship of Kazakhstan.
- 2:28So I remember he built the first car for myself.
- 2:32Uh, there was, you know, really old chassis, uh, with, uh, uh, engine
- 2:37from, uh, Honda Dio, that's a scooter.
- 2:41Um, and I remember the, the frame, uh, it was the bright yellow.
- 2:46And I started to take a part in championship of Kazakhstan, um, in
- 2:52class And I had my 46 number with me.
- 2:56It was a great experience.
- 2:58Uh, so I really like karting.
- 3:00I really like this excitement and adrenaline, which I get from it.
- 3:03And, um, so yeah, then we move forward and I just, uh, won four
- 3:08times championship of Kazakhstan.
- 3:10Of course, I started not, you know, all races from the first, uh, places,
- 3:15uh, been to like, uh, Top six, top, top seven, uh, for several races.
- 3:22Uh, and then the last race, which we had in like, that was 2008, 2009.
- 3:28Um, I remember that I won it and I was so happy.
- 3:33I still remember the guy who, uh, been fighting with me for the first position.
- 3:38Uh, he was crying after I won it.
- 3:41Oh yeah, he was so upset.
- 3:46So, yeah, it was really fun, uh, days and I, you know, that was great.
- 3:51My dad also raced at this time a little bit, uh, in different class
- 3:55and, uh, we've been into this, uh, together, um, that was awesome.
- 4:01It's great to hear that you did this with your dad and also at
- 4:05such a young age, that's great.
- 4:07So, I see that with me too.
- 4:09I started also very young, a bit younger than you when I was seven.
- 4:14And, uh, yeah, my dad was there to support.
- 4:17He didn't do anything with cars.
- 4:19He didn't drive in any cars.
- 4:21He was there for the support, but it's still great to hear.
- 4:25And how did you feel?
- 4:26Because back then you were young, and you probably was one of the
- 4:30only women in the field, I think.
- 4:33Mm hmm.
- 4:34So, you know, I felt, uh, sometimes I was afraid of the speed, so that took some
- 4:40time to Uh, get used to everything, and, uh, then, you know, I felt great, uh, to
- 4:46be honest, like, uh, everybody tried to respect me, of course, uh, we had some
- 4:51people who've been, like, against, uh, girls in karting, and something like this,
- 4:56uh, that's been, uh, Taking a place here.
- 4:59That was like, you know, 2008, 2009, a long time ago.
- 5:05So definitely right now situation is more friendly for everybody.
- 5:09Uh, and, uh, you know, of course the cursing is, uh, you know, that's a lot
- 5:14of swearing and a lot of men in this.
- 5:16And, uh, uh, yeah, that was, uh, A little bit weird experience for me,
- 5:22uh, but I think that, uh, bring me, uh, the character which I got right now,
- 5:27so I'm really like a, a high motivated person, and I'm trying to push, uh,
- 5:33like, my goals, and, uh, I'm doing everything, like, if I got a goal, I'm
- 5:38just going for it till the end, and, uh, yeah, that's really, uh, give me, um,
- 5:44you know, Great, uh, things, uh, bring great things to my life, definitely.
- 5:50Um, we've been lucky enough to found a sponsor for our karting team, uh,
- 5:56here in Kazakhstan, because just, uh, investors which we have here, they've
- 6:01been really interested into karting, they did karting, By themselves also.
- 6:06Um, and, uh, after all this stuff, so we started like the, the carting team.
- 6:12Um, so we did like, you know, a few seasons with our own money and, uh, the
- 6:17rest of the seasons and the rest career, which I did in real life racing, I did
- 6:22buy sponsor money, so we didn't bring any, anything from our side, from the
- 6:26family, because my family is not really rich and, uh, motorsport carting and,
- 6:31uh, racing is, uh, really expensive.
- 6:33Um, So yeah, and then they started to build the guard circuit here and we got
- 6:40the the big circuit right now I hope hopefully it's going to work this summer.
- 6:47So they Tried to bring the MotoGP here Maybe it's going to happen in the
- 6:53upcoming years here in Almaty So yeah, that's the first big circuit which
- 6:59we got here and it's really long with the high speed corners really cool
- 7:03You Um, so yeah, will be awesome to see some MotoGP racing here one day.
- 7:10Yes, that will be great.
- 7:13And, um, I think you also participated in the Formula Masters events.
- 7:19I think with Astana Motorsports, if I'm correct?
- 7:23Yeah, that's correct.
- 7:24Can you tell more about that?
- 7:27Uh, so after I did really good results in karting, uh, won four times championship
- 7:33of Kazakhstan, uh, we decided that we have to move somewhere and, um, We had a
- 7:39special event in Moscow with rent karting.
- 7:43Uh, they've been doing the, you know, kind of like endurance, uh, karts, uh, event.
- 7:50Uh, there's been like two hours race or something like this.
- 7:53Uh, we had, uh, four drivers in our team.
- 7:56Um, and.
- 7:58The price for the first position, uh, the, being the testing
- 8:02days, uh, uh, informal masters.
- 8:05And so, yeah, we just, uh, we did this, uh, event, did this race, uh, won it.
- 8:12So we did a really good strategy with the team.
- 8:15We also had, uh, really fast driver, uh, with us in a team and, uh, you
- 8:22know, I, everybody just, uh, bring.
- 8:25Their own side, their own time and consistency, uh, into the team results.
- 8:30And, uh, we won the test day, uh, at Kazan ring.
- 8:34Uh, and, um, we decided to find some, uh, like sponsors to go for this testing
- 8:41and maybe try, uh, the full season and formal masters, um, And yeah, then it
- 8:49just turns out that, uh, we found money, we, uh, bring ourselves to the circuit,
- 8:56did the test day, uh, I still remember it was really crazy to switch from
- 9:00karting to formulas because in formulas you literally, uh, see nothing compared
- 9:04to karting because in karting you, uh, like, Just, uh, sitting on the outside,
- 9:10you can see everything, you can see Apex League, you can see everything.
- 9:13Uh, in Formal, it was different, so when I first time, um, went to the track, I was
- 9:20like, Wow, I can see a thing, you know?
- 9:24It was, it was really funny.
- 9:26Um, after some time, I get used to it.
- 9:28So when you're sitting in Formal, you actually see just, uh,
- 9:32top of the tires a little bit.
- 9:33It's funny.
- 9:34Uh, and, and they're pretty much it.
- 9:36You don't see anything on the sides and, uh, you, you can see a little bit,
- 9:41the rear view, the little mirrors, uh, mirrors, and that's, that's, that's it.
- 9:47So it was a really fun experience.
- 9:49Definitely.
- 9:50Um, and then after this testing days, after the first season, we did
- 9:57like a thing, three, four races, we found some investments, uh, from also
- 10:01Kazakhstan government, uh, support me.
- 10:04Uh, and then just, uh, Astana Motorsports, uh, team, they found me, uh, they
- 10:13contact me and they decided like, okay, we can, uh, take you with us.
- 10:17Uh, at this time they had already.
- 10:20Uh, team in the car, they had, uh, like this big track in the car, uh,
- 10:26also I think SUV and, uh, motorcycle.
- 10:30So they had a quite big team, uh, which took a part in, uh,
- 10:34in racing around the world.
- 10:36And yeah, and then, uh, they introduced me that I'm going to, uh, be in the
- 10:42formal program, our program we had, uh, which we had, uh, it's been, uh,
- 10:46Uh, for the formal one, step by step, the program, uh, included also, uh,
- 10:51formal free in Spain and, uh, you know, all the stuff, but unfortunately,
- 10:56uh, we did formal masters in 2015.
- 11:00Uh, then at the same time, I also been, uh, taking part in the Asia
- 11:04Cup series, which is a formal BMW.
- 11:08Uh, it's a punk, uh, so finish before informal masters and
- 11:13P six and Asia cup series.
- 11:17Uh, and then unfortunately they decided to completely shut down the team, uh,
- 11:22because, uh, just maybe some financial problems, maybe something else.
- 11:27But what they told me that was like, uh, none of the races taking a part
- 11:32on the territory of Kazakhstan.
- 11:34And they not really interested in this.
- 11:37Um, so yeah, and still they're not running any racing team anymore.
- 11:41So they'll, they'll only got the cycling team, uh, and then pretty much it.
- 11:46So it's really sad, uh, because we had a really strong team in the car.
- 11:50They finished, uh, in tracks, I think P10 or P11, which is, uh, great because, you
- 11:56know, the, the car is a really high level and it's, it's really, uh, exhausting.
- 12:02Um, conditions in this race.
- 12:04Also, it's really hard marathon, which, uh, running and racing.
- 12:08Um, so yeah, it's, it's really sad, but it was a great experience and I'm so grateful
- 12:13and happy that I, um, you know, been in this team because that like the highest
- 12:19level in Kazakhstan, uh, and I was the first, uh, uh, woman who took a part in,
- 12:26uh, formulas, uh, for, from Kazakhstan.
- 12:28So no one.
- 12:30Right now doing any formal series, uh, who racing here in Kazakhstan.
- 12:37Nice.
- 12:37Well done and congrats because it's, uh, it's, um, how do you say it in English?
- 12:45I'm not sure, but it's, uh, it's something you did very well and
- 12:49you can be very proud of yourself.
- 12:52Uh, I never heard about Astana Motorsports, but I knew about the cycling
- 12:57team, because yeah, I also like cycling.
- 13:01So, um, yeah, that's how I.
- 13:04Uh, knew the name, but I never thought they had also a motorsports teams.
- 13:09This is interesting to hear as well, but a shame they stopped because I
- 13:13think if it reached far, from what I hear also from the results, you were
- 13:17getting better and better, getting more the groove, uh, in the Formula car.
- 13:23And, uh, it's a shame that it ended like this.
- 13:27Um, you also did a selection event for the W Series.
- 13:31Can you tell more about that?
- 13:33Yeah.
- 13:34Yes, I can tell you about this.
- 13:35I want to add a little bit about Formal Masters also and Asia Cup Series.
- 13:41Um, I had this result.
- 13:43I think the results could be better.
- 13:46Just because we've been really limited with the budget, which we had.
- 13:50So we had budget only for events, for racing events.
- 13:53But only for like one day practice.
- 13:57That's like three, four sessions to be exact.
- 14:01By 20 minutes maximum on track.
- 14:03So, and, uh, as I had all tracks new for me, it was
- 14:07really hard, you know, to adapt.
- 14:09Also, we had a, um, quite fast car compared to karting
- 14:14where I've been before.
- 14:15So yeah, it's, uh, definitely was a really hard challenge for me.
- 14:18And, you know, if someone would suggest me once again, try something like this, I
- 14:23would just, uh, uh, decline this because, you know, I understand now, uh, that.
- 14:30It's really hard to go through all this racing events without any
- 14:34experience, without any practice.
- 14:36It's really hard.
- 14:37And of course, if I, uh, would take a part in any racing right now,
- 14:41I would love to have more testing days, more practice, uh, to then
- 14:46show better results, uh, in series.
- 14:49Uh, so yeah, unfortunately we've been really limited with financials
- 14:53and we've been limited, uh, in, um, like, uh, I would try.
- 14:59Uh, to save the car because we've been limited, uh, in, in crashes, uh, also,
- 15:05uh, with the financials as, you know, Formula is real expensive, like, four
- 15:10tires cost, like, more than 1, 000 euros.
- 15:15Um, one tire set cost that money and, uh, for example, the, the
- 15:20front wing cost, uh, like, uh, 1, 500 euros or something like this.
- 15:26So, yeah, if you're going to get into a crash and also, uh, formal
- 15:30car made, uh, Made of paper.
- 15:33It's it's really fragile.
- 15:35And yeah, it was really hard in financial way to just push the
- 15:40limits and also, you know, put all everything I've got into the results.
- 15:47So actually, I did my best about W series events.
- 15:50It was really fun.
- 15:51I remember so, uh, Had a really funny story about this, uh,
- 15:57because, uh, it was my husband.
- 15:59We decided that we going to get married.
- 16:01And at the same time, I just, uh, send a application to W series
- 16:07that, Hey, I probably would like to take a part in the selection event.
- 16:11So we didn't, uh, think that it's going to.
- 16:15And we just get married and I changed my surname and I had
- 16:19to go to Kazakhstan to change.
- 16:21Uh, so been living in Moscow at this time and I had to go to Kazakhstan
- 16:27to change all my documents, my passport and all the stuff.
- 16:30Um, and we've been really limited because we get married on the 11th
- 16:35of December and, um, We just, uh, you know, uh, face, uh, the reality
- 16:43that we got all this, uh, Christmas days and new year and all this stuff.
- 16:48And we've been, you know, running out of time, uh, was making
- 16:52the visa to go to Austria.
- 16:55Um, hopefully we, we did everything in time and I'm so grateful to.
- 17:00Uh, Austria Embassy, they did everything fast, uh, I remember Konso called me
- 17:05like, Oh, that's uh, yeah, really, um, important event where you're
- 17:10going, yeah, so I understand you're doing racing and all this stuff.
- 17:13I said yes, and they like, uh, called me.
- 17:16I know in two hours or so, they're like, Oh, you, you got your visa and passports.
- 17:20I'm like, yes, let's go.
- 17:25And then we went to WSeries event.
- 17:28Um, in a way how events went for me, it was great experience.
- 17:33That was my first time ever, uh, taking part, uh, in such events.
- 17:38And so we've been driving the Porsche.
- 17:41Cayman, uh, GTS with winter tires, uh, on the mixed conditions.
- 17:46So we had, uh, like rain, snow, all the stuff.
- 17:50So there'll be in, uh, in January, uh, really fun.
- 17:54You know, we did some drifting, some fun exercises, some team
- 17:59working, um, some stuff like this.
- 18:01So I met a lot of girls and that was a great to be a part of this event.
- 18:05Definitely.
- 18:06So I didn't get into, uh, the series.
- 18:09I think because my Uh, maybe communication wasn't that great as it is right now,
- 18:15and, uh, probably I was not really good at working in a team, uh, because I
- 18:20was, uh, really shy and maybe a little bit close to myself at this time.
- 18:25Uh, but anyway, I was really, uh, happy to take a part in
- 18:28this and be a part of, of that.
- 18:30It's really sad that W Series, uh, stopped to do their seasons.
- 18:35It's, Uh, because I think it was a great, uh, series and, uh, I would
- 18:41love to see more girls into this.
- 18:43And, uh, just, you know, for example, for Jimmy Chadwick, uh, that turned
- 18:48out, uh, really in a really good way.
- 18:51So she get into IndyCar series and, uh, That's, that's awesome.
- 18:55And, uh, yeah, I raced against her.
- 18:58So we, we had, uh, some kind of like a rallycross, uh,
- 19:03on this Caymans in the end.
- 19:04Yeah, I raced with her.
- 19:06So she beat me, but just a little bit.
- 19:10So it was fun.
- 19:13Ah, that's good to hear.
- 19:15Yeah, they have nowadays, they have one academia, which
- 19:17is also very good to watch.
- 19:19I watch most of the races.
- 19:21I try to watch them or watch them back later on.
- 19:24With every pooling, uh, absolutely dominate the
- 19:29season, apart from a few races.
- 19:32A Dutch lady, Maya Voogd, that won as well.
- 19:34I mentioned that because I'm not living in the Netherlands anymore,
- 19:37but still proud to be a part of it.
- 19:40So we were all excited about that.
- 19:43Um, uh, yeah, you know, For, for, I think Abby goes now for the TB three.
- 19:49Mm-hmm . The British, uh, formula three.
- 19:52Mm-hmm . Uh, championship, I think it is.
- 19:56Uh, they were saying on the TV because she won the championship there and she
- 20:00get that offered, uh, as, as a prize.
- 20:03So I think that's also a good way to confirm.
- 20:07Uh, but yeah, I hope there is coming a lot more, uh, from those kind of events to,
- 20:14to not only give them the opportunity, but also to kind of, uh, showcase them in a
- 20:21way, uh, like they can present themselves.
- 20:24They can show what they, what they can on track and then teams
- 20:28can see, Oh, look at that lady.
- 20:30She's going fast.
- 20:32I would like to have her involved and then go further that way.
- 20:35So not only in price, but I think that's, this could be a very good opportunity
- 20:41for the ladies who are participating now.
- 20:44And, uh, and by the way.
- 20:46Happy anniversary, your anniversary from yesterday.
- 20:50Thank you.
- 20:52You're welcome.
- 20:54Well, we have now a lot of talking about the racing, but I want to ask
- 20:58one more question about that before we go into the sim racing part.
- 21:02What was your
- 21:06greatest moment in your motorsport career?
- 21:12Uh, well, that's definitely was, uh, that first win in karting, which and,
- 21:16uh, which I mentioned before, uh, and, uh, second greatest moment, which I
- 21:21had in racing, uh, there was, uh, that I finished, uh, P3 at Sochi Autodrome,
- 21:27uh, we had the, the full circuit, which formal one, uh, race, uh, Uh,
- 21:32this days and I, uh, get the P3 here.
- 21:35Uh, funny thing that, uh, you know, at Sochi, they got this, uh, so the curbs and
- 21:41inside of the curbs here is the sausages.
- 21:43And, uh, so because I cut curbs, uh, quite a lot, so I had really
- 21:48good lap times, uh, here, uh, that kind of damaged the, the front wing.
- 21:52on the formula.
- 21:54And so I remember I was going through the DRS zone.
- 21:58That's a long back straight at Sochi Autodrom.
- 22:02And when I started to turn into the corner, I'm like, Oh my God,
- 22:07car just not steering at all.
- 22:09So like, uh, the front wing started to fall down.
- 22:14At the last moment, that was the last, uh, last lap of the race.
- 22:17Yeah.
- 22:18Uh, at the last moment, uh, some grip just returned back to tires and I'm like,
- 22:25okay, we're steering into the corner.
- 22:26All good.
- 22:27So, uh, when I finished, uh, the race right on the finish, just
- 22:33the front wing fall down like this and it was, uh, look like a scoop,
- 22:39so, yeah, it was really fun race, you know, I finished like this.
- 22:44Didn't notice that anything is wrong because I started to lose the downforce on
- 22:48the last lap only and it was pretty scary because we didn't go on for this DRS zone.
- 22:54Um, what do you got, uh, that the wall on, on like, you know, after
- 23:01this, uh, the break in, uh, it's the hardest break, break in, uh,
- 23:05point which you got on track.
- 23:07Uh, If I wouldn't feed into the corner, I would end in the wall,
- 23:12so yeah, it was really fun anyway.
- 23:15Because I was like, oh my god, we're not steering, what am I supposed to do?
- 23:19And I can't do anything, just, uh, you know, kind of, uh, I know front wing may
- 23:24be returned back or something, so I get the grape back, and I was like, whew.
- 23:28Finally,
- 23:32Nice.
- 23:33And you had you had the, uh, front ringers or souvenir fire at home?
- 23:37Or , the damage from ? No, they, uh, they suggest me to maybe you can, uh, you
- 23:44know, bring this, uh, front wing with you.
- 23:46I'm like, you know, no, not going to feed to airplane . Oh no.
- 23:52Yeah, I just can take it
- 23:59Well, now we're taking a little bridge.
- 24:01Uh, did you use sim racing also to practice fully in real life racing?
- 24:06Uh, yes.
- 24:07In, uh, 2019, uh, when I, uh, was doing the Formal Four Southeast Asia,
- 24:13um, in Malaysia, I, um, I practiced in race rooms, the bonk circuit,
- 24:20and I remember that I fixed, uh, Uh, T5, T6, uh, at the simulator
- 24:27that also helped me, uh, to improve my lap times at Spunk in real life.
- 24:31Um, so yeah, I was using the simulators and, uh, before Informal Masters,
- 24:37I remember that I, uh, did some Race07 to learn, uh, the track, uh,
- 24:42the Sochi Octodrome and, uh, other track which you had in the calendar.
- 24:46of the series.
- 24:47Um, so yeah, but you know, I wasn't really into sim racing, so I just, uh, use it
- 24:53like occasionally when I really need it.
- 24:55Uh, so if I would jump to real life racing right now, I would
- 25:00use sim racing a lot, definitely.
- 25:04Yes, it's definitely recommended even.
- 25:07It's just to learn the track and so forth, because I did some racing too.
- 25:12And, uh, I was lucky if I had a track slap in before the race
- 25:16weekends or race day started because we didn't have the testing.
- 25:21And, uh, then I drove a silverstone, I drove the, I believe it's national layout
- 25:27or something, never drove that before.
- 25:29Only did some left in the sink to, to know at least where the track is
- 25:34and which part you're not taking.
- 25:35Basically from the Grand Prix.
- 25:38Uh.
- 25:39Circus and yeah, I was happy that I did it in the same because otherwise
- 25:43I went into the official practice on the Sunday For for 40 minutes, which
- 25:48I needed to share with my teammates But no knowledge of the track at all.
- 25:53So, for me, the sim was really needed to get an idea of how the track goes.
- 26:00They didn't have a car in the sim, which was a bit of a shame.
- 26:04I used mostly around the GT4 cars, because it was a bit around the same
- 26:11speed, but didn't have the same grip.
- 26:13So, uh, yeah, it's both a bit different approach to a race day than I prefer
- 26:21and I wouldn't recommend it either because it's a lot less enjoyment when
- 26:25you're not sure if everything goes right and if you're not sure how the
- 26:31car will feel on the track and so forth.
- 26:33It can always be different on race day, but at least you have
- 26:37an idea or a feeling by it.
- 26:39And when you have muffin, it's, it's a challenge.
- 26:43Yeah, definitely.
- 26:44I agree with you.
- 26:47Uh, you started simracing, uh, well, streaming, in 2019,
- 26:53offered by your husband.
- 26:57Yeah, for sure.
- 26:58Uh, so as I moved to Moscow in 2017, uh, I started to search for a job in,
- 27:07you know, motorsport related, uh, stuff.
- 27:10Uh, I found a job in a motorsport simulator that goes like this.
- 27:14They had, uh, Um, like some racing center with motion platforms, uh, DD
- 27:20wheels and, uh, Holsenfeld pedals.
- 27:22So work here as a coach and as a, uh, manager of this, uh, some racing center.
- 27:27So I started like this.
- 27:29Uh, then I met my husband's on my next work.
- 27:32I worked as a sale manager, uh, in air seats.
- 27:36So we've been selling the rigs and all this stuff.
- 27:39We met each other here and then we've been working in different sim racing companies.
- 27:46Also had a sim racing center with a race room.
- 27:52And, uh, Then, uh, during lockdown, uh, unfortunately we couldn't work,
- 27:58uh, where we worked before because all malls just shut down completely.
- 28:02Uh, and yeah, we decided to try streaming, to try also racing at this time.
- 28:08Uh, and yeah, it just, uh, turns out, so we tried to bring, um, As many
- 28:15people as we can, uh, first time to the stream, like, uh, there's been like
- 28:1910, 15 viewers, something like this.
- 28:22Uh, and then it just, uh, started to grow, um, by Twitch recommendations,
- 28:28by also greater racing, uh, community, which helped me with some rates.
- 28:33I, I remember Quaker ties rate me and, uh, uh, some other big streamers as well.
- 28:40So.
- 28:41It was, uh, it was a great time and, uh, I'm so grateful that, uh, the
- 28:45community and iRacing and Twitch, um, you know, they're so friendly, they're
- 28:50really helpful, and, uh, I was really shy on the camera, I was really, uh,
- 28:56closed, and, you know, just started to open up, I started to, uh, improve
- 29:00my English, improve, uh, my driving at the same time as well, and, yeah.
- 29:05Yeah, you know, we had some challenges, uh, definitely.
- 29:08Uh, so when we started, I had, uh, just a steel rig.
- 29:12Uh, we had, uh, just a bulb with, with a pocket on it as
- 29:16a soft light on the stream.
- 29:18Um, And I had a really old G27, uh, which then with community together,
- 29:26we, uh, switched to T300 with TLCM pedals and we switched single screen
- 29:31to triple, uh, and all things started.
- 29:34So I just, uh, I remember that I messaged, uh, Fressmaster about,
- 29:38uh, a partnership and they like, Yeah, we can talk about this.
- 29:42And, uh, we with them for three years already.
- 29:45I'm so happy, uh, that I'm, I'm part of a first master rockets team.
- 29:50And, uh, that's a great to be a part of this.
- 29:53Uh, and we got also a fractal design right now as a partner on our channel
- 29:59and, uh, next level racing as well.
- 30:01So just, uh, you know, everything started from a really, uh, small studio,
- 30:08which we build with, with our hands and, uh, turns out to like bigger,
- 30:13uh, channel and, uh, uh, good, uh, partnership and good community overall.
- 30:20That's great to hear and well done because, uh, you seem like you grow a
- 30:24lot because you're now very confident.
- 30:26Um, uh, Not shy at all.
- 30:30So it's good to see you.
- 30:31Well done.
- 30:33Yeah.
- 30:33so much.
- 30:34You're welcome.
- 30:35And you also took part in the virtual Lamar.
- 30:38I think everyone loves to watch the Lamar in real life 24 hour.
- 30:45For a lot of drivers, it will be the dream to race, but for some sim racers, it's
- 30:50also a dream to race the virtual Lamar.
- 30:53Can you tell more about that?
- 30:55Yeah, we did a virtual Le Mans.
- 30:58Uh, I did it twice.
- 30:59Uh, first time we did it with, uh, W Series.
- 31:03Uh, we had, uh, Betzke Wieser, um, I think another girl from W Series
- 31:08with us, me and, um, Emery, uh, she's also a streamer in our racing.
- 31:14Um, so we've been preparing, uh, so hard for this one.
- 31:19Uh, we wanted to race GTE car in this event.
- 31:24Uh, but unfortunately we didn't take part in the race, uh, because for our
- 31:28teammate, uh, the Air Factor two just, uh, decided that shut down and, uh, we
- 31:34couldn't re yeah, we couldn't rejoin the server, uh, organizers didn't, uh,
- 31:39give me, uh, give us this opportunity.
- 31:42Um, so unfortunately the, the first original laman, uh, end up like this.
- 31:47Uh, then the next year, uh, Grav by TRS Sports, uh, suggests me to jump into LMP2
- 31:55car with them, uh, for Virtua LeMans.
- 31:57Uh, we also had some technical issues, um, during this race, but we finished it.
- 32:03Uh, we had quite good lap times, so we could finish easily, um, somewhere
- 32:08in the middle of the field of LMP2s.
- 32:10Uh, but unfortunately, due to some technical issues, once
- 32:14again, uh, we finished like P10 or P12, uh, something like this.
- 32:19But it was a great experience with me, uh, for me, uh, because I've been into the
- 32:23team with, uh, in real life LMP2 driver.
- 32:26And we worked a lot with the data.
- 32:28We walked, uh, worked a lot with, uh, how to improve on track and, uh, they're
- 32:33really, so this virtual man, uh, pushed me as a driver, um, to the next step.
- 32:39Uh, and, um, I'm so happy for this experience and it's here as a sport is
- 32:45amazing, um, a sport team, uh, which is doing their job pretty well, so I'm just.
- 32:51So, happy to have, uh, this experience with me and, uh, yeah,
- 32:56unfortunately, you know, Air Factor 2, it's a great simulator.
- 33:00Uh, I really like to race in it.
- 33:02It feels great when you race in Air Factor 2.
- 33:05Uh, but unfortunately, as, uh, maybe the studio which making the
- 33:10Air Factor 2 is small, uh, they just don't have enough resources.
- 33:15Uh, to run it properly.
- 33:18Uh, it just, uh, got some bugs and, uh, uh, a lot of server issues.
- 33:22So we experienced the previous, uh, virtual demand, uh, also make
- 33:26marks first up and disconnect, uh, I think few times from this race.
- 33:31Uh, which is kind of shame, but you know, it is where it is.
- 33:34I.
- 33:35Fully understand like, you know, the software and all the stuff.
- 33:38It's really complicated and When you got a small team, it's really hard to
- 33:44run so I fully understand this and I really hope they're factor to going to
- 33:50grow and going to be bigger and just Will be better for such a big event.
- 33:58Yes, yeah, I would like to see that too.
- 34:01I don't drive often on Alpha 2.
- 34:04I do only one series, the Xbox series.
- 34:07And, uh, I really enjoy doing that.
- 34:09And it's more Like, uh, a community race than, um, than a competition because
- 34:16it's all about networking and then we are on a Zoom call and then someone
- 34:21else comes in and tell more about what they are doing in racing, sim racing.
- 34:26So it's a great community and it's, it's fun.
- 34:28The only time that I'm racing on Airfactor 2, mostly on a ride and
- 34:33drive, because I have no time to practice, but that's great to do so.
- 34:38I didn't do it for months, because I haven't driven for months, but, oh yeah,
- 34:43hopefully I'm back, uh, next year and then do some races with them again because I
- 34:49really enjoyed how it felt as well with this base and with my final tech base.
- 34:55I struggled a lot to get the settings right without breaking,
- 34:59almost breaking my wrist.
- 35:01But when you have it right, it's, it's a good game.
- 35:03It's really enjoyable to do.
- 35:07How did you, how did the team got into the Virtual Le Mans?
- 35:10Because I know for a lot of teams, this was really the highlight.
- 35:14Uh, the race was the highlight to do, uh, for their team.
- 35:19How is this working?
- 35:22Uh, well, I'm not sure about W Series, how they get into Virtual Le Mans.
- 35:27Uh, probably they had some connections with the organizers.
- 35:31Uh, but, uh, speaking of the graph, uh, by tier eSports, eSports, they got, uh,
- 35:37really good, uh, eSports team in iRacing.
- 35:40They taken part in many special events and all this stuff.
- 35:44Um, speaking about Virtua LeMans, they get into that because of Graf.
- 35:49Graf, uh, that's a team, uh, which, uh, taken part in a real life,
- 35:54uh, LeMans event with LMP2 cars.
- 35:57So that's in real life team.
- 35:58Uh, and they just, uh, had collaboration, uh, together and to get into this.
- 36:04And, um, you know, they just invited me, uh, because they wanted to have a
- 36:09fast driver and also girl in their team.
- 36:12Uh, and also as I was streaming, uh, this event on my Twitch, uh, We just
- 36:19found each other and yeah, once again, I'm going to tell you that it was a
- 36:25great experience and I would love to race in virtual Le Mans next time if
- 36:30someone going to suggest me this event.
- 36:35I spent a lot of time for practice.
- 36:37Uh, we did a lot of, uh, like team sessions and all this stuff.
- 36:41Um, but yeah, it was, uh, it was awesome.
- 36:45I really like Le Mans.
- 36:46That's one of my favorite circuits.
- 36:48Uh, I still remember when I first time tried to learn it in iRacing was like,
- 36:52Oh my God, this lap is so long, you know, it's, uh, over three minutes
- 36:57and it just, uh, taken a lot of time.
- 37:00But when you just.
- 37:02Learn this track, then every time you get into, uh, races on it, you're
- 37:08like, wow, it's just going with a really cool flow, especially with
- 37:11LMP2 car and it's just great to race.
- 37:14I really like this track.
- 37:15So, um, not a big fan of Nordschleife.
- 37:19Uh, so from long tracks, I would, uh, would pick the Le Mans.
- 37:25Not a fan of the North China.
- 37:28I think I never heard that before.
- 37:33Yeah, you bring me on some ideas for next year's future Olympics.
- 37:38Maybe we can bring the different team in and maybe you can also be part of it.
- 37:43Getting some ideas of how we'll have some networking around to see, uh,
- 37:49what we can do and we can drive it.
- 37:52Uh, you also took part in the Porsche eSports Super Cup All Star Series.
- 37:58It's a long name, so I needed to double check on the, on the list.
- 38:03Uh, how, how was that?
- 38:06It was great, uh, I've been taking part in the All Star Porsche Sports
- 38:10Super Cup for two years already.
- 38:13Uh, hopefully going to get into the next one, uh, which we will start I think
- 38:17in February or something like this.
- 38:20Um, that was a great experience, so we, uh, got like supportive, uh, races.
- 38:26For the main championship, which, uh, going in our racing, uh, that's the
- 38:30main, like, eSports, uh, sim racing championship, which we got alongside
- 38:34with, uh, Inascar in our racing, and it was, uh, great because, you
- 38:39know, streamers are really fast.
- 38:41Uh, we had really fun races.
- 38:44Uh, they got this format that, uh, first race you starting by
- 38:47qualifying, uh, second race, you starting with a fully reversed grid.
- 38:53So, and then bring some, uh, you know, crashes, some fun moments.
- 38:57And I remember the previous year I was leading in GT4, the whole race, the
- 39:02whole second race, uh, at that time.
- 39:04Uh, but unfortunately then, uh, they started bowling, uh, the, there was
- 39:11like a really close to the end of the race and I get into the crash.
- 39:15Unfortunately, didn't get a few one, uh, but I finished like
- 39:18top five or something like this.
- 39:20Uh, it was so fun.
- 39:21You know, I, I was upset a little bit because I was like, yes, I get
- 39:25through the crashes and everything.
- 39:27I'm leading the whole race because they just, uh.
- 39:31Fighting behind with each other and I was pretty sure that I can win.
- 39:35I had a really good pace Was really surprised because I'm not the pro in
- 39:39GT forces So usually in cars like MX 5, GR86 and GT4 I'm not the best but
- 39:47this time I just get into G4 and, you know, did some, uh, good practice with
- 39:54the Porsche Cayman and this track.
- 39:56And also that's one of my favorite tracks, uh, the Watkins Glen, I really like it.
- 40:01Um, so yeah, I get so lucky for, uh, get the, for the crashes and everything,
- 40:06but yeah, then we end up in the crash.
- 40:10I was upset, of course.
- 40:12But it was a great experience for me.
- 40:15So, uh, this Porsche championships, they always really.
- 40:19The organizers are so friendly and, uh, remember the funny thing we, we
- 40:25had, um, in race interviews, like you're racing, you're fighting with
- 40:31someone and they like, okay, we're going to take interview from them.
- 40:34And then we're like, Oh no,
- 40:37but you know, it's a, like, that's a part of the, like
- 40:41support for the main championship.
- 40:43Uh, we always trying to bring some fun here and some content as well.
- 40:48Uh, so yeah, that's a pleasure for me to take part in this championship alongside
- 40:52with Crux of Ties, Emre, Matt Malone, and other big streamers from my racing.
- 40:58It's always fun.
- 41:01Yeah, it's cool.
- 41:02And, uh, well, you said already, Wolfgang's Glen is a very good track.
- 41:07I agree with you.
- 41:08I like it too.
- 41:09It just flows very well.
- 41:11Uh, for some reason.
- 41:13Is it also your favorite track from Iron Racing?
- 41:17Uh, well, I got few favorite tracks in Iron Racing.
- 41:20Uh, there'll be definitely Watkins Glen.
- 41:23I like it in every configuration.
- 41:25Like, we got boot, we got cup, one which is short, it's really
- 41:29close to some kind of oval.
- 41:31I really like it, um, and I'm a big fan of Road Atlanta, so if you would
- 41:38ask my community, they're going to tell me, tell you like, yeah, Road
- 41:42Atlanta, that's her favorite track.
- 41:44Like every time we got Road Atlanta, I'm like, yes, I'm going to race it.
- 41:48I really like it because it has, um, So, uphills, downhills, and uh, that S
- 41:55is after the T1, absolutely great, uh, so, this track got really good flow, and
- 42:01also, it's a little bit scary to race it every time, even if you, say, like, take
- 42:08part in a lot of races on this track, you still, like, you know, you get used to it.
- 42:11What if I'm going to lose the car in Assis or somewhere, uh, like on the track?
- 42:16And it's, it's always so exciting to, to race it.
- 42:19And yeah, someone in chat just saying about Laguna Seca, I know that this is
- 42:24not favorite track for everybody, uh, in a racing and not the simulators.
- 42:29I, I love it.
- 42:30You know, Laguna Seca, great track and I really like it.
- 42:34It's, uh, just amazing with all this corners and especially Corkscrew, uh,
- 42:39the legendary corner on this track.
- 42:42Yeah, I love it.
- 42:43So that, that will be my top list of the, of the tracks like Road
- 42:47Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen.
- 42:49Um, speaking about European tracks, I think there'll be Liman and, uh,
- 42:55Spa and Monza, something like this.
- 42:59Yes, sounds good.
- 43:00It's a nice list.
- 43:02And what about the cars?
- 43:04What is your favorite car to drive?
- 43:06My favorite car to drive?
- 43:08Everybody knows that.
- 43:09That's a Porsche Cup.
- 43:11I really like it.
- 43:12I really like the fact that this car without traction control, without
- 43:16ABS system, and you know, It's always so rewarding to raise this car.
- 43:22So when you nail the track, when you got really fast lap times, it's more
- 43:26rewarding than driving the GT free car, for example, on the same track.
- 43:31Uh, just, just because when you're getting into the rhythm, when you're
- 43:34not making mistakes, you're not locked up, uh, tires and, uh, you're just like,
- 43:39you're feeling great, uh, about this.
- 43:41And, uh, it's really cool car.
- 43:43I love it.
- 43:43Um, on the car, which I really like and I racing and which I raise, uh,
- 43:48On daily basis that, uh, formal 1 600.
- 43:52I really like it because it's a simple car.
- 43:54Uh, it's a good base.
- 43:56If you would like to go forward to formulas, uh, and because here is
- 44:02not a lot of downforce on this car.
- 44:04And, uh, Uh, you always get in really close battles in Formula 1 600.
- 44:10You get in, um, really cool side by side, two wide, you know, whole
- 44:15lap with someone, uh, in the race.
- 44:17It's, it's great.
- 44:18And I really like to race it in rain, uh, as well.
- 44:22Uh, recently we had a race at Tsukuba, uh, with Formula 1 600 and, you know, a
- 44:28lot of people, they just, uh, on the rain.
- 44:32They rushing, they jumping, diving into the corner and then they missing.
- 44:36And you're like, yes, that's great.
- 44:40So, yeah, I think that'll be my, uh, two favorite cars.
- 44:45And, uh, speaking about ovals, because I started, uh, to do a lot of ovals as well.
- 44:51Uh, that's definitely will be Xfinity series as it's, um, you know,
- 44:56community here is really friendly.
- 44:58Uh, and, uh, car is great.
- 45:01Uh, so usually when I'm getting into Xfinity races, uh, you get a really
- 45:07good points to our rating and you gaining safety rating as well because
- 45:11just people racing in a good way.
- 45:14Um, and especially I really like Xfinity Open, uh, so longer races.
- 45:20People think more, uh, about what to do with the strategy, with everything.
- 45:25And, uh, a lot of, uh, less crashes we get in here and yeah, really like the series.
- 45:31And, uh, the second, uh, favorites from Ovals, there will be Arca.
- 45:36Arca is crazy, a lot of crashes, but I just really like this car.
- 45:44Nice.
- 45:44Sounds good.
- 45:46Are you also part of the sim racing team?
- 45:49Uh, yes.
- 45:50I'm a part of the Olympus sports.
- 45:53Uh, we started to be with Olympus when we had just three people in the team.
- 45:58Uh, and actually funny thing that I met, uh, our boss from Olympus
- 46:03team, Charles Bushell in Instagram.
- 46:06So, uh, he's been following me, um, You know, for years following my racing
- 46:12career, uh, then he was, uh, one of the first, uh, people who came to my stream,
- 46:20uh, we met each other here once again.
- 46:22And he just like, I'm starting the sport team.
- 46:25Are you like interested to be a part of it?
- 46:27And I'm like, Yeah, sure.
- 46:29I'm going to be a part of it.
- 46:31Why not?
- 46:31So, as I didn't have a team, I decided to join the Olympus
- 46:38Sport to support it, of course.
- 46:41And we started to do some special events, some VRS Endurances from time to
- 46:47time, and Olympus Esports is big right now, you know, I, I just, I don't know
- 46:53how many people we got in the team.
- 46:55So, uh, always when I coming to the discord, I'm like, wow, here is so
- 47:00many people and it's great to see.
- 47:02And we.
- 47:03Uh, one of the greatest championship where we've taken apart, that's, uh,
- 47:07Evereight Club Sports, uh, Evereight Endurance, uh, that's, uh, one of the
- 47:11biggest leagues, uh, which we got in racing, uh, one of the most competitive,
- 47:16I think, and, uh, the previous year we finished P5, P6 in Porsche Cup, uh, in
- 47:22the club series, that was great result, uh, for us and, uh, You know, I'm so,
- 47:27so happy that I've been one of the first drivers in Olympus Esports and it's
- 47:33great to see the team is growing and they've taken part in cool championships,
- 47:39cool leagues, and also we've been a part of VCO Infinity event together.
- 47:43So yeah, I'm just wishing all the best to Olympus Esports.
- 47:48I think that's a great team and we got one of the most beautiful liveries.
- 47:53Oh, yes, the delivery looks absolutely stunning.
- 47:58Nina also drives for the team.
- 48:02She sometimes drives it also in the screen speed series and it looks so good.
- 48:06It really stands out from the rest.
- 48:09It's good.
- 48:11Yeah, that's what I really like because, you know, all the eSport
- 48:15teams, I don't know why, but they really like, oh, we're going to drive
- 48:18black cars or something like this.
- 48:20And here's Olympus, like, bright blue with yellow with pink.
- 48:24It's, it's great.
- 48:24I know, just we need more cars with bright colors in eSports.
- 48:29You know, you didn't have to be really serious, like, I'm driving the black car.
- 48:34So I think it's going to be great to see more colorful cars in the, on the field.
- 48:41I like it too, but for us, I'm a co founder of Etoffe
- 48:45from the United Sim Team.
- 48:47And they have an orange going over to red livery.
- 48:51Why?
- 48:51Because I'm originally from the Netherlands and we are loving orange.
- 48:55With every sporting event or when it's King's Day.
- 48:59Everyone is wearing orange, you see it also with the F1, you see all the
- 49:04orange, all the Dutch fans with the orange shirt and then a Dutch flag and,
- 49:08uh, you even have it nowadays with the skiing, with Bosje Heese coming from
- 49:12the Netherlands, uh, skiing for the Netherlands now instead of Austria.
- 49:17So even you saw it there, orange fireworks, so yeah, I'm very
- 49:22proud to have orange on the car.
- 49:24But, uh, Sophie and her favourite colour is red.
- 49:28So if we get this first, what are we going to do with livery?
- 49:32And I have to be honest, I'm a pain in the ass with livery because I
- 49:36want to have a perfect, so I can say a thousand times, uh, maybe change
- 49:41it for that, for that, for that.
- 49:44And then I say to every cast, I like it, but can you change that?
- 49:47So, so that's how it goes.
- 49:49And then she came up with this idea and it's great to, to
- 49:53show also a bit of personality.
- 49:56Um, behind the team, so we'll, we'll, uh, we'll where the founders, for
- 50:01example, to see it back in a delivery.
- 50:04And, uh, it's the same with the racing helmets.
- 50:07I made mine, uh, bit a meaningful thing about myself mm-hmm.
- 50:11And about my family.
- 50:12And I think you can really make something special for it.
- 50:16And that's what I like about live or designs.
- 50:19I can't do it myself, but I really like to see what others are.
- 50:23Uh.
- 50:25Mm hmm.
- 50:27Yeah.
- 50:27My husband's making liveries for me.
- 50:30Uh, the last one which we had, uh, that was for Porsche all star series.
- 50:36And, uh, we had it like, uh, you know, the comments going for the space.
- 50:41So it's really a bright sound color with a deep purple, uh,
- 50:47black and something like this.
- 50:48So it was really cool.
- 50:50Uh, but, uh, For my daily streams I usually using the one which
- 50:55is a gray and purple on the back with my emotes from the channel.
- 50:59It's really cute delivery.
- 51:01I really like it.
- 51:02Yeah.
- 51:03And, um, funny thing that, uh, we got a suit and the helmet, uh, in our racing
- 51:08and one of my, uh, viewers on channel, uh, he made the suit and helmet for me.
- 51:15That was, uh, at the time when we started streaming, uh, in 2020.
- 51:20And I'm still using it.
- 51:22Nice.
- 51:23Uh, that's cool.
- 51:24Yeah.
- 51:25I'm very proud of my iRacing helmet because it's exactly in my, in real
- 51:29life, racing helmet is in the game.
- 51:32So this, I think it was for Christmas or one of the holidays and she let
- 51:38it made by a official designer.
- 51:40We specialized in it and I know it's a hard job to to get my
- 51:45house also on there because I have mountains on it and, um, uh, some
- 51:51special things on the top as well.
- 51:53So it's very fiddling to get it all right and, uh, yeah, it looks
- 51:58absolutely stunning in the game.
- 52:00Same on Grand Theft Auto I have it as well and I'm very proud about that.
- 52:05That's great.
- 52:08Yes.
- 52:09Well, thank you for your time.
- 52:12It was a pleasure.
- 52:13You did well.
- 52:15As not being a host, but I guess this time.
- 52:19I have a few news things, uh, before we end, uh, the, the inner talks for today.
- 52:27Uh, Steffi Bau is in the final for the Scholastic Esports Awards.
- 52:33I hope I say this right, uh, with the Sim4STEM program.
- 52:37Sim4STEM is a great program, uh, where we teach, uh, Yeah, high school
- 52:43Children around that age, uh, the engineering parts, but also in the same.
- 52:48So I've been last year to Detroit for two weeks.
- 52:54Yeah, we saw many students coming and trying and we gave them the experience
- 53:00and they were learning what is possible to do with the engineering side of it.
- 53:05Also in the same.
- 53:07I had the best part because I was by the seams and they all loved to
- 53:11see all those rigs standing there.
- 53:13And, uh, yeah, it's a great way for them to, to test if they like it.
- 53:19And some even didn't know about this at all.
- 53:22So, but it's all possible.
- 53:25So we tried to show possibilities at the schools.
- 53:29And yeah, it's amazing to, to see what's, uh, what the children learn from a day.
- 53:35Because most of them are a day.
- 53:37Uh, for the school.
- 53:40And they learn a lot, they get excited from it.
- 53:42So it's really great to, to see this program grow even more in America.
- 53:48And hopefully it comes to Europe as well.
- 53:50So everyone, please vote for Stephanie.
- 53:54I'm putting the link in now.
- 53:55Because it's well deserved for all the hard work she's doing.
- 53:59And, uh, the voting ends on the 15th of December, so, this Sunday.
- 54:08Then, I have another thing.
- 54:12The InnerTalks is now also open.

- 54:54And, uh, yeah, 2024 is almost coming to an end.
- 54:59It's almost the holidays and, um, it was a great year.
- 55:04I'm throwing back already a little bit, but some highlights and, uh,
- 55:10because for me, it's the last time that you can hear me now for this year.
- 55:14And, uh, yeah, we have some great events at the A of Sim Racing Expo.
- 55:20Uh, there are some great events coming up for next year.
- 55:23We will organize six races on our racing, uh, for the screen to speeds.
- 55:28We're also gonna organize six races for the USF gg.
- 55:33Uh.
- 55:36And that will be, the winner will go and do some events with Team
- 55:40USA, which is absolutely amazing.
- 55:43So, next year there will be more coming up, which are also for
- 55:46Gran Turismo and everyone else.
- 55:49And I'm looking forward to that.
- 55:52So, thank you today, Lou, and you'll be back next week as the host.
