- 0:19Welcome to GOD TV Radio The Brett Keene Show.
- 0:23I don't. Have a slow love.
- 0:28No, I don't take shit. I've.
- 0:29Got no love that. The faith is if you.
- 0:31Want to play Dust and? Want to hate this although.
- 0:33It's your world. I don't.
- 0:36Have a slow. One So where did all this energy
- 0:39in space come from? The answer was found after
- 0:44decades of work by scientists. Space and energy was
- 0:49spontaneously created in an event we now call the Big Bad.
- 1:00At the moment of the Big Bad, an entire universe full of energy
- 1:05came into existence, and within space it all inflated, just like
- 1:14the balloon being blown up. So where did all this energy
- 1:22space come from? How does an entire universe full
- 1:28of energy, the awesome vastness of space and everything in it
- 1:34simply appear out of nothing? The sun.
- 1:39This is where God comes back into the picture.
- 1:42I don't. Ever show up?
- 1:43No, I don't take shit. I got no love with the bacon.
- 1:52If you want to play top and want to hate this or will we show up
- 1:56and make a statement? I don't ever show up.
- 1:58No I don't take shit. I got no love with the bacon.
- 2:02If you want to play top and want to hate this.
- 2:05Or will we show up and make a statement?
- 2:10Mental health discomfort. Soldiers don't give yourselves
- 2:53the brutes. Men who despise you, enslave
- 2:55you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to
- 2:58think of, what to feel, who treat you tired you, treat you
- 3:01like cattle, use you as Canon fodder.
- 3:04Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, Machine men with
- 3:08machine minds and machine hearts.
- 3:10You are not machines. You are not cattle.
- 3:12You are men, you have the love of humanity in your hearts.
- 3:16You don't hate only the unloved, Hate the unloved and the
- 3:19unnatural. Soldiers don't fight for
- 3:22slavery, fight for liberty. The 17th chapter, St.
- 3:25Luka is written the Kingdom of Goddess within man.
- 3:27Not one man nor a group of men, but in all men, in you.
- 3:31You, the people have the power, The power to create machines,
- 3:34the power to create happiness. You and the people have the
- 3:37power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a
- 3:40wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy
- 3:43that are that power, let us all unite.
- 3:46Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men
- 3:50a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age of
- 3:53security. By the promise of these things,
- 3:55brutes have risen to power, but they lie.
- 3:58They do not fulfill their promise, they never will.
- 4:01Dictators free themselves, but they enslave the people.
- 4:04Now they despite to fulfill that promise.
- 4:08They despite to free the world, to do away with national
- 4:11barriers, to do away with grief with and intolerance.
- 4:15Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science
- 4:19and progress will lead to all men's happiness.
- 4:22Soldiers in the ring of democracy, let us all you.
- 5:07Hello ladies. Hello man.
- 5:10Oh, it sounds broadcast. You did I, I put a piece of
- 5:15orange in my mouth, Brett. I was.
- 5:17I was. I was I was dancing to the
- 5:21remake of Olivia. Is my sound OK?
- 5:23Is it too soft or we're? We're having a neck felt.
- 5:27All right, then we're going to fix that.
- 5:29Hopefully no. All right.
- 5:33This is live echo cancellation now.
- 5:37How's that sound? Better.
- 5:38Testing. Yeah, it's a lot better.
- 5:41Very good, very good. Well, to introduce myself as
- 5:44well as you, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Brett
- 5:47Keane from GOD TV Radio. I hope you're all having a
- 5:49wonderful day out there. I'm going to be doing an
- 5:52interview with brother Rob Reed, and you've been having a little
- 5:57bit of a tough day. Hopefully my interview will
- 6:00cheer you up a little bit. Actually, it was pretty fun.
- 6:04I I had fun. You did enjoy yourself from
- 6:07that. I did.
- 6:09Well, I do want to say I apologize.
- 6:11I tried the best I could communicate and and get you
- 6:15heard, but for some reason he was convinced you were a robot
- 6:19Reed. There there are some people in
- 6:21the world, Brett and I know you know, we've been on YouTube a
- 6:26long time. I've been on about as long as
- 6:30you, if not a little bit longer, and that particular individual
- 6:34might be the single stupidest person I've ever encountered.
- 6:38And what has it been though? 819 years let.
- 6:46Me do a background that better fits with what you got going on
- 6:49in your background, so I'm good. Yeah, I mean, or I don't need a
- 6:53background. I mean, I just, it's just a way
- 6:54to blur. Yeah, it looks cool.
- 6:57It looks cool. It goes great with the
- 6:58background as well. Well, before we get into any
- 7:01like theological questions or testimony or anything like that,
- 7:06I've noticed that you've got a Rob Reed music channel and you
- 7:09know that I'm into music myself, and I really like dramatic
- 7:13intros, as you had to sit through just a moment ago.
- 7:16I was dancing. I put a piece of orange in my
- 7:18mouth to the remake of Olivia Newton John, and I was.
- 7:20I appreciate your eclectic style.
- 7:24Oh, I like all kinds of different genres.
- 7:27Only thing I don't like is like certain kinds of reggae.
- 7:31And I don't mind opera as long as Nightwish is doing it.
- 7:35So it's that. I've seen some opera.
- 7:38I I, you know, I've had better days.
- 7:41But I guess first question would be, how young were you when you
- 7:44started doing music? We'll we'll go with this first
- 7:47because I know music Cheers people up.
- 7:50My parents bought me a my first guitar when I was 15.
- 7:56It was an electric guitar. They didn't have a lot of money.
- 7:59So they they were able to save up and they got me one.
- 8:02But because they didn't have a lot of money, they couldn't get
- 8:05me a lessons. So I was playing it upside down
- 8:09like Jimi Hendrix because being a right-handed person, opposite
- 8:13of Jimi Hendrix, but same concept.
- 8:16I felt if you're going to do all the technique, the technique it
- 8:21makes sense to be where you're most dexterous and if I'm
- 8:23right-handed, the technique should all be there and the
- 8:26strumming should be on my weak hand.
- 8:28Well it turns out guitar is oppo world so it wasn't until that my
- 8:33parents could not afford lessons.
- 8:35So I had this nice little guitar that I just, I was frustrated
- 8:38with in 5 minutes because I didn't know what to do.
- 8:41So Fast forward three years, I'm a freshman at UC Riverside, I'm
- 8:45living in the Fine Arts Hall and there are five people on the
- 8:48hall that have guitar and they're all friendly and they
- 8:50all teach me how to play. And my songwriting began from
- 8:56there. My father was into music, came
- 8:59into the United States in the 60s, immigrated from England
- 9:04during the British wave, and he actually was signed briefly to a
- 9:10contract with his friend. And they were both very, very
- 9:14good. But the thing that held him
- 9:16back, unfortunately, was my mom got pregnant.
- 9:20And so his music career went on the wayside.
- 9:23But I grew up with The Beatles, John Lennon's, you know, imagine
- 9:27and just a variety of music. I was along the line, you
- 9:32probably were around this time too, of the Columbia Record and
- 9:34Tape Club. And I was able to build a vinyl
- 9:38collection and fell in love with music because of my father, but
- 9:43becoming a musician wasn't until I started freshman year at
- 9:46college. So your your father was
- 9:50musically inclined, but unfortunately during that time
- 9:53they didn't have live streaming and the cool stuff you can do
- 9:57nowadays with digital. Yeah, and plus he had to figure
- 10:01out a way to take care of a new baby coming, that being me with
- 10:06his new wife. And so priorities switched and
- 10:10my dad did the right thing. Meaning, you know, he, he, I'm
- 10:15here. So they didn't give me up or
- 10:18they didn't abort me, thank God. And so here I am.
- 10:22And yeah, but he, it wasn't so much the issue of streaming and
- 10:28stuff 'cause they were signed. It was the issue of he.
- 10:32He was at a crossroads in life, as we all find ourselves
- 10:34sometimes, and he took the road less traveled I would say, and
- 10:40made the right decision. Some might say otherwise.
- 10:43You know, just as well as I, I mean, yeah, you can't tour and
- 10:47you can't go out if you want to be a family man.
- 10:49The road's a killer on that. But you can put stuff up to a
- 10:55distributor, all that kind of stuff with music out there.
- 10:58It's sad, wrong time, wrong place, you know?
- 11:01But you know, that is a, that is very powerful choice.
- 11:05And that's a, that's a real man there to actually say, you know
- 11:08what, I'm going to be there for my family.
- 11:10I'm going to do what's right. That's good.
- 11:13Yeah, he could have been a schlep and gone on tour and gosh
- 11:17knows what at that point, and I don't know where my life
- 11:19trajectory would have taken me. That's been an interesting life,
- 11:23right? Very cool.
- 11:25So guitar started you off, keyboard started me off.
- 11:29But this isn't about me, this is about an interview with you.
- 11:34So was there did you get to do when you started doing music,
- 11:38did you get to actually do what you wanted to or did you find
- 11:42yourself having to do what other people wanted?
- 11:44Was it aggravating or did you enjoy the whole process?
- 11:48Well, it was me just with a, when I first started doing it
- 11:51with a four track, you know, so I didn't have to do what other
- 11:54people wanted me to. And I formed a, a band in
- 12:00college with a couple of friends who were halfway decent, but we
- 12:03most mostly did covers of like Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili
- 12:09Peppers and that kind of stuff. And, and the interesting thing
- 12:11was as much as I wanted to be a musician there, they put me in
- 12:16the position of singing So. And it wasn't until I was
- 12:23invited to a church by a friend of mine, a neighbor.
- 12:29He was a bassist at a local Lutheran Church.
- 12:33And I grew up with a Jewish background, but we met at a
- 12:36homeowners association meeting and he told me about church and
- 12:41that he plays. I told him that I play music and
- 12:44I write and I have my I record in the computer and we developed
- 12:48a bond for music. So that's my testimony begins.
- 12:52You know, it's an interesting transition.
- 12:54It really begins my Christian testimony with music and the the
- 12:59gift that God has given us of music.
- 13:02And it started with a a friend of mine who went to church, not
- 13:05a great evangelist, but God knew just who to bring forward to me
- 13:12with my interest of music for me to start to hear the word of God
- 13:16in song. And about 11 months later, after
- 13:20I first played on that worship team with the permission of the
- 13:23pastor, he said that I could not sing because I don't believe in
- 13:27the words. And my friend might have fibbed
- 13:29a little bit by saying that I was seeking, which I was not.
- 13:33About 11 months later after that first day, I I was my first time
- 13:38playing acoustic guitar, Not singing with the group was May
- 13:43of 2005 and I was baptized April of 2006.
- 13:52I don't know if this is the same case because it seems like music
- 13:56was obviously a big priority for you and desire where did because
- 14:01you and I were talked in the past, at some point in time
- 14:04you'd become get into lawyerism, if that's even a word.
- 14:08I make up my own stuff. Hey, that's fine.
- 14:10Lawyerism sounds like a disease, and it arguably is.
- 14:15How did that happen? Since you were going for music,
- 14:18was that just something you put on the side or did you mean to
- 14:21go somewhere with it but decided you might be able to accomplish
- 14:24something being the lawyer? Well, it's like my father,
- 14:27right? You know, I had, I had the
- 14:29perfect example with my father and my mother of course told me
- 14:33there was no way that I was going to be able to major in
- 14:35music. I didn't know enough going into
- 14:38college. Music, as I told you, I was
- 14:39playing guitar upside down and could play notes and it was
- 14:43horrible. I had the desire to do it, but I
- 14:48originally wanted to be a medical doctor.
- 14:50So I went to UC Riverside with a biomedical sciences major to, to
- 14:56start that endeavour. And I found out that it was just
- 15:00too much. I wanted to immediately, I was
- 15:04told in starting that major that we would be going right into
- 15:12anatomy and all these medical related classes.
- 15:15I was super excited. Supposed to be, in other words,
- 15:17an accelerated medical program three years and then your fourth
- 15:21year of undergrad is your first year of Med school.
- 15:24And so I was cool with that. But entering into my third year
- 15:28of undergrad, I decided to see how much I wanted a career in
- 15:32medicine. So I went to the local Community
- 15:34College and became a certified emergency medical technician.
- 15:39And I did that for a short period of time.
- 15:41And I discovered that I didn't. I didn't mind blood and all
- 15:46those things, but I had an issue with the callousness of the
- 15:50people that I was dealing with, treating people like they were
- 15:55slabs of meat, which I had difficulty doing.
- 15:58I was my emotions would be invested in these people that I
- 16:01was helping. And I felt that a career in
- 16:06medicine was probably going to eat me alive.
- 16:08And so I wanted to help people and I wanted to make good money.
- 16:13And so the next choice was I changed from biology.
- 16:17I went from biomedical sciences to biology.
- 16:19And then I, I graduated the BA in English.
- 16:22So it was a big drastic change, mainly because English was easy.
- 16:26I could write out my last two years.
- 16:27I was a five year undergrad, apply to law school, take the
- 16:31LSAT and go that route because my mother was in the legal
- 16:34field. So I had some, I had connections
- 16:37already there where I knew I'd probably be secure with a job.
- 16:41And so that's where I went, you know, with music being something
- 16:45definitely on the sideline, particularly after college.
- 16:49But it was during law school that my parents bought me my
- 16:52first Tascam 4 track recorder, where I first started to learn
- 16:57how to produce on my own, which is one of my great joys.
- 17:01Now. I just don't have a lot of time,
- 17:03unfortunately for it. But that was a long way to
- 17:07answer your question. No, it's absolutely fine.
- 17:10I, we can take as much time as needed and everything, whatever
- 17:14time you have at least. So you, you got to a point where
- 17:18you, you felt sensitive. You were in a position where you
- 17:21were seeing, you know, some of the the drags of life, some of
- 17:25the bad stuff, and you were inable to go to that second
- 17:29level like these other people were doing because they had to
- 17:33turn their emotions off in order to deal with the job, right?
- 17:36Yeah, I'm a soy boy by nature. You could, you could ask Smokey
- 17:40St. There's a lot of people there
- 17:42that would testify to my metro level and my metro levels like,
- 17:48you know, Christian Scientology as thetons and I have metro
- 17:51levels. Mine are fairly high where I I
- 17:54have a an empathy for my fellow man, which was helpful in
- 18:00becoming a Christian, obviously, but it was you know, it's the
- 18:05the prophet Joel talks about the Holy Spirit in the end times
- 18:09falling on all people and it's all who but it's all who call in
- 18:13the name of the Lord who will be saved.
- 18:15I feel that you know, God hardwires us as creatures in the
- 18:20same way that birds fly S for the winter by instinct.
- 18:24I think God hardwires into US who are healthy with healthy
- 18:29growings up to be naturally empathetic to our fellow human.
- 18:37Well, I I don't see that as soy or weak or anything.
- 18:39I consider myself, according to my wife at least, of being an
- 18:43alpha male, but I don't think that I could handle that kind of
- 18:46job either. I don't think I could be a
- 18:48fireman or a police officer either.
- 18:51I've watched countless videos where it's real, what's
- 18:54happening, and they blur out bodies, people walking into
- 18:57houses where they're there's, you know, kids that have passed
- 19:01or killed by their parents. And I couldn't be involved in
- 19:04something like that. It would make me sick.
- 19:06So I understand where you come from.
- 19:09Yeah, but it again, it wasn't, it wasn't the blood and all that
- 19:12stuff as it related to the medicine.
- 19:14It was what bothered me the most was I think death and, and not
- 19:19being able to like to, to have a person in front of me who there
- 19:23was nothing I could do something, you know for.
- 19:25Whereas in law, I have somebody who's been aggrieved generally
- 19:31and it's my job after the fact to help pick up the pieces and I
- 19:37I fit in nicely there. So when when you started doing
- 19:45the lawyer business, you said that you didn't have a whole lot
- 19:48of time to do the music and all that.
- 19:50Eventually you would run into some people and all that.
- 19:53Because I've seen some videos of yours where you got people with
- 19:57you playing. Is that older material or are
- 20:01you doing anything nowadays? Well now, now 'cause I, I end, I
- 20:05have a a new position right now and so the new position gives me
- 20:11far less time. So I have even less time than I
- 20:13did before. That being said, I play every
- 20:18Sunday. I lead worship at Calvary Chapel
- 20:21Malibu. Before that I LED worship for I
- 20:25was on the worship team at a place called Start out as First
- 20:28Lutheran. Then they changed it into Life
- 20:30House. Now they're called the House.
- 20:31It's a nice church. It's very youthful.
- 20:34But sadly when we had a change of pastor and a younger pastor
- 20:38came in, he pushed out the old, which unfortunately was me.
- 20:44They were keeping me on, but they had really substantially
- 20:47lessened my role. So since 2005, I've consistently
- 20:53on Sundays played in a band situation in most cases at
- 20:58Calvary Chapel Malibu. It's, it's actually, it sounds
- 21:00like a big church, but it's actually very small home church.
- 21:03And I lead worship with just my wife.
- 21:06It's just both of us. She plays keys, I play acoustic
- 21:09guitar and we both sing. So I still perform, but they're
- 21:13the extent of my performance. When I was a worship leader, was
- 21:16at church and occasionally be asked to play at men's rituals
- 21:21or you know, a variety of different things before, and we
- 21:24would do that sometimes, but it was no great touring or anything
- 21:28like that. But what's fun about what we
- 21:31have now, and I imagine you have some experiences like this,
- 21:34because you've sort of alluded to this already, that with our
- 21:37ability to put our music out there and particularly on
- 21:39YouTube, what's neat is I've had a number of different churches
- 21:42from throughout the world really ask me occasionally through
- 21:47e-mail to say, we really, we we heard your song, this song, we
- 21:51really love it. We'd like to use it for our
- 21:53Christmas program or we'd like to use it for this particular
- 21:56special message. And can we do that?
- 21:58And I always say, yes, yeah. I never had a, a place where it
- 22:02made me think twice about it because I like to think that the
- 22:07music that I do write is I most of it's generated from the word
- 22:11of God itself where we can't go wrong.
- 22:14There's a few things where it might have started away from the
- 22:17Bible where there's potential, but I never had.
- 22:20For instance, the one that comes to mind, there was a Christmas
- 22:24program in Chicago at a Presbyterian Church and they,
- 22:29they got wind of my song Tender Mercy and they wanted to create
- 22:33a black light Christmas because it's a, it was a Advent song.
- 22:38It's based on Zechariah's song The last part of Luke 1.
- 22:42And it was just awesome that they asked to use that.
- 22:46They did the black light thing. They sent me a video link and I
- 22:49was really, really honored that the God would use me.
- 22:52And that way, you know, and, and it, it happens sometimes.
- 22:55So that's the extent of my public performance kind of
- 22:58stuff. It it just limited to Calvary
- 23:00Chapel Malibu. And now that I'm in my older age
- 23:04and working more, I think I'm probably going to stop doing
- 23:08that pretty soon, which is kind of it's I'm at that crossroads
- 23:12like my dad was. Do I keep doing this or do I
- 23:15worry about my health because I'm starting to get old?
- 23:17You know, it's pressure to to create a service and all that
- 23:20stuff. I understand.
- 23:24Well, I, I encourage you either way.
- 23:27If you feel like it, you would, it would be healthier for you to
- 23:30stop them, so be it. But if it brings joy to your
- 23:33life, obviously I'm going to root for you on that as well.
- 23:37Sure, You know you know what you're going through, so I can't
- 23:41tell you either way. It's just a lot of work, you
- 23:44know, And so it's, it's I, I'm leading.
- 23:49I'm heading to a point where, you know, I played so many songs
- 23:53and so I know a lot of songs and I don't.
- 23:56The other thing, I think it's like there's a quality that we
- 23:58should have when we serve the Lord in that way, it is such a
- 24:03huge blessing. We're leading other people into
- 24:05the place of worship, into the holy of Holies, if you will, and
- 24:10we want to do our best job. And when I don't, I'm tired and
- 24:14I don't have enough time for it. It I don't think I'm given 100%.
- 24:19God really deserves 110. So I've given an inkling to the
- 24:23pastor already there and I said, you know, maybe we should start
- 24:26looking. So if if anyone's in the the
- 24:30Malibu Canyon area, Calabasas, because we're not in Malibu
- 24:33proper, hit me up if you're interested in leading worship.
- 24:41All right. I got a question for you having
- 24:43to do with theology fellowship and all that.
- 24:46When you look at social media with these different Christian
- 24:50communities out here, do you feel as though they are a
- 24:54detriment to themselves? And then and why I say that,
- 24:58I'll give an example. One of the reasons why we see
- 25:02that non believers and some of these other groups out here so
- 25:05popular is because they share each other's content.
- 25:08They encourage each other to continue to do the things they
- 25:11do. Sure, they have their little
- 25:12spats, but in the Christian community it's like this.
- 25:16Oh, you don't read the translation.
- 25:17I do. You don't go to the my kind of
- 25:19church. You're not a part of my
- 25:21denomination, so therefore I won't support you in any kind of
- 25:25way. Do you feel that at all or do
- 25:28you think about? Absolutely.
- 25:33And, and it's the, it's the problem with, I would say the
- 25:39difference between the Christian community and the atheist
- 25:43community is that the majority of the world is still religious
- 25:48at some way. And so atheists are some still
- 25:51somewhat of a pariahs. And so their way to gather is
- 25:55here. Whereas the way to gather for
- 26:00Christians in real life, and this isn't real life to me in
- 26:05real life is in a church by the best God intended for us to
- 26:09share in person with fellow Christians, fellowship in
- 26:14person, be in church, have accountability and all those
- 26:18things that are a priority for the Christian community, but not
- 26:24for an online community. An online community is filled
- 26:27with people that are can be anonymous.
- 26:30It's it's reckless. And where we find, we find
- 26:35unfortunately, Brett and I know you've seen this.
- 26:37I'm sure of it. I definitely have.
- 26:39And you got a glimpse of it tonight, unfortunately, that
- 26:42there is a lot of mental illness here.
- 26:45There's a lot of loneliness here.
- 26:47There are a lot of people on here who do not have a say in
- 26:50their real lives, who are not taken seriously in their real
- 26:53lives, who attend church but are too afraid or too shy to say
- 26:56anything. Or maybe they've been instructed
- 26:59not to and they found this place to be a suitable soapbox where
- 27:05they can get a forced group. And the primary, I would say
- 27:13mental illness that exists here is with some people who have
- 27:19Dunning Kruger syndrome, the Dunning Kruger effect.
- 27:22They know a little bit about something.
- 27:23They think that they're experts and that might include the
- 27:26Bible. And they start teaching and they
- 27:29start instructing when that isn't a gifting that God has
- 27:33given them. And yet they're going to force
- 27:35it. So they become sideshows, circus
- 27:38sideshows on here. They become they use avatars,
- 27:43they call themselves smoky Saints and or things like that.
- 27:48And suddenly when we when the the Mass comes off and they come
- 27:53off in a variety of different ways, we start to see that the
- 27:56people who are taking the position of being Christian
- 28:00leader have no business being in that position and don't have the
- 28:08requisite demeanor to do it correctly.
- 28:13And I'm not saying that I'm the one either 'cause I don't think
- 28:15I'm patient enough. That's why I was on a pastoral
- 28:20track at this new church. I've been there for almost 2 1/2
- 28:25years now and I found, you know, I've been praying with God and
- 28:29saying, is that the direction that you want me to go?
- 28:31And, and he's saying, no, he gave me other opportunities in
- 28:34my career that were better for my family.
- 28:37And I said, OK, I see where you want me to go.
- 28:40Your will be done. And it's been good for my
- 28:43family. And unfortunately, it, it's
- 28:46giving me less time here. And I liked to think the
- 28:50majority of the time in my time here was that I wanted to be
- 28:56guide for people on how not to hold grudges as best as
- 29:03possible. Although there's a few that I do
- 29:05have how to try and live at peace to live out living in
- 29:09peace with others. As far as it depends on me,
- 29:14there's some people that you just can't not.
- 29:17And but if, if, if it's in my position to kind of control it,
- 29:20then I can try. I fail far too often.
- 29:23That's why you know, pastors, not God doesn't want me to be a
- 29:27pastor. So the, the short answer to what
- 29:30you said is what you asked is in these online circles, we're more
- 29:37likely to create a cesspool and you see it.
- 29:40Brett, you, you were involved in the atheist community.
- 29:42So you, you're, and I was so overjoyed when I saw that you
- 29:46were changing in that regard. But even the atheist community
- 29:50as you, you were the Pied Piper of atheists from the beginning,
- 29:54before TJ and all that insanity, when he turned it into a big
- 29:57cartoon. You were good at what you did,
- 30:02and it was serious for a while, but then suddenly people started
- 30:05flinging stones at you. I remember with plagiarism,
- 30:08whatever stuff they were throwing out at you.
- 30:11It was like they were killing the messenger.
- 30:13Because what is the lifeblood of the online community is not
- 30:16truth. It's what brings viewers.
- 30:20And truth doesn't bring viewers. Brett, I can tell you, I did a
- 30:24Bible study. I did a daily Bible reading
- 30:27Bible in a year to lead people out of the drama in the year
- 30:312023 to bring people into the word of God.
- 30:34And I would be lucky to get 10 people to watch.
- 30:37So but when you know I was I didn't see how many people were
- 30:42watching spud stream tonight, but I bet it was more than 10
- 30:48and that when we weren't talking God, we weren't at a fine we
- 30:51weren't lifting up God. It was someone who decided to do
- 30:54a video unannounced with related to me about joke posts that I
- 31:00put up and so I took the bait. So occasionally I find it
- 31:04entertaining and but it was a perfect example, Brett, of what
- 31:09of the cesspool? It is you to.
- 31:11And if you're in the position to try and bring seriousness and
- 31:17bring people to Christ, then I encourage you to do that.
- 31:19And this is a good medium to try and do that.
- 31:21Interviewing people and talking about their testimonies and
- 31:24seeing who you know, the reality, what people are in real
- 31:27life, not who they are here. And sad thing is that for many
- 31:32people on here, this is all they have and that's what we need to
- 31:40try and guide people away from because it is accessible.
- 31:47I agree. There's a lot of issues.
- 31:49The atheist community has its wannabe scientist and the
- 31:52religious community has people who have not went to school for
- 31:57theology or anything like that, but they want to become the
- 32:00next, I don't know, Benny Hinn I I don't know what it is they're
- 32:04going for, what the ambition is. I've always tried to be honest
- 32:07with people. I'm never going to be a preacher
- 32:10or minister and you'd be absolutely irresponsible to
- 32:13offer me a church to run. So it's.
- 32:17I don't have the patience. If I if I was given a church and
- 32:21it was filled with nothing but Ryan's, I would quit.
- 32:27I would quit right away. I I just don't have enough
- 32:30patience to help people who are very hard to.
- 32:35Help. And that's not good.
- 32:38But God, like when we pray, we pray for God to bring us people
- 32:42of peace. I found that to be successful.
- 32:46And a person at peace is somebody who wants to hear from
- 32:50you, respects what you say, will listen to what you say, and
- 32:54won't attack you even if they disagree.
- 32:59And we probably, we might be able to get into that even in
- 33:01this conversation because I imagine there's plenty we
- 33:03disagree about. I don't want to hit too much of
- 33:06the detrimental stuff for what's going on with the community at
- 33:10this point of the discussion because it's it's clear from our
- 33:14discussion you're you're still a little miffed about what
- 33:18happened earlier. And I'm sorry that happened.
- 33:21All right, let me there's just there's.
- 33:23A I'm just saying there's a lot of evil here and and that the
- 33:25the fine line of writing that is how to deal with it and how to
- 33:31handle it. I've seen in the last couple
- 33:35years here some of the most extreme evil from that certain
- 33:39side that I've ever seen that I didn't think that human beings
- 33:43could really get to. And that's why I say, and it's
- 33:46done by people, of course, Brett, who are anonymous.
- 33:50And it's, it shows how if your expectations of, of creating a
- 33:55Christian community here or trying to get a great Christian
- 33:58community here temper it. I know you've already known
- 34:02that, but it's the best way to get a Christian community is to
- 34:07do it in person. Find a church.
- 34:10People have always asked me to do moderation and neutral type
- 34:15of things and all that because for some reason on both sides,
- 34:18when it comes down to it, they see me as fair.
- 34:20But I've never I can't seem to. Even with all the charisma, I
- 34:24can't get people to just work out their crap no matter how
- 34:28much I talk to them. It's like they they'd rather
- 34:30kill each other than just get along.
- 34:33So odd. Well, if, if the worst thing
- 34:37that I've seen, you know, not to, I know you don't want to get
- 34:39too much into drama, but people essentially mocking the death of
- 34:43someone's child, I don't think it gets any worse than that.
- 34:47And there's, there's really, it's, let's just say it's
- 34:52incredibly difficult to forgive that kind of thing or to want a
- 34:58fellowship with that, particularly when the person is
- 35:01not sorry about what they did or the people, I should say.
- 35:05I had somebody a while back, Rob, whenever my daughter was
- 35:08going in and out of the hospital, the person didn't like
- 35:12me. They didn't like the atheist
- 35:14stuff that I was going through. And I completely understood
- 35:16that. I understood, but they told me
- 35:18that it was because of my sins and my evil, why it was that my
- 35:22child was in the condition. Now I had read the Bible enough
- 35:26even as a non believer to know that God doesn't punish innocent
- 35:30children just because of the you know, the parents being a creep
- 35:34or whatever. No.
- 35:35So I I've I've. Experienced people say some
- 35:38pretty awful things, especially very personal towards children
- 35:42and all that, and I, I'm friends with that.
- 35:44Person though, did it like did you?
- 35:46Did you have a resolution with that?
- 35:47Whoever that was, was it Me? I have.
- 35:50I've always. Tried to forgive people and and
- 35:53get along with folks and all that, but there's just some
- 35:56people. It's kind of like, I don't know
- 35:58if you're a fan of Batman, but it's like what Alfred said.
- 36:01Some people just want to see the world burn.
- 36:04There's just nothing you can say, no matter how rational and
- 36:07logical, no matter how kind and compassionate.
- 36:11They just want to crucify it, period.
- 36:13At the end of it. Yep.
- 36:16Sadly, that is. True.
- 36:18And that's it's especially true. You know, it's the Joker.
- 36:21I don't know if that's what he was talking about, but we're
- 36:23we're a clown face and many people in in every community,
- 36:28but I don't see it in the atheist community in that, I
- 36:30mean, there are people that use pseudonyms, but often times
- 36:33they'll get on camera. But there are people here who
- 36:36wouldn't get on camera. They'd just be cartoons and
- 36:38anonymous. And they're the worst.
- 36:42They're they're they're too afraid to reveal who they are in
- 36:46life because they don't amount to much.
- 36:49I have to suspect. And this is what gives them
- 36:54power. And it's, it's incredibly sad.
- 36:59They're people's emotions that get at stake, not mine.
- 37:04I mean, I again, I'm I'm amused by the person tonight, amused by
- 37:11their their lack of intelligence.
- 37:14But on a. Soapbox.
- 37:17Where they're acting like they're intelligent, that it's
- 37:19Dunning Kruger with a capital DK, but we can get off that.
- 37:25Let me try to get into. Some other questions and we can
- 37:28talk about all that you you want to, if you're into it.
- 37:32Let's see, do you remember the specific moment or event that
- 37:37led you to embrace your Christian faith?
- 37:41Yeah. But there were many, many
- 37:43moments, but there was one particular 1.
- 37:46So I'll tell you the one particular one.
- 37:50That was the slam dunk for me. It was.
- 37:54Pastor Dana Hanson at. First Lutheran at the time he
- 37:57was preaching on Acts 9, he was preaching.
- 38:00He had just come back from a prison ministry.
- 38:03He was describing people coming to faith in Christ in the prison
- 38:08and. He was weeping.
- 38:11You know in the process too. But we this the Bible verses of
- 38:15the day were Acts 9 and it was where Paul has the scales come
- 38:21off his eyes. And I literally felt a an actual
- 38:24reaction to the sermon to the scripture where I literally felt
- 38:30scales come off mine, a weight off my body.
- 38:34And suddenly the church building that I was in actually felt
- 38:37smaller. It was this interesting event
- 38:40where it felt less like a a a big building that was not
- 38:46comfortable to accessible and it felt like home.
- 38:52That was the hammer home moment I had.
- 38:55God knew what he needed to do with me which was to give me a
- 38:59lucid dream where I had an experience where I I felt like I
- 39:04actually felt literal hands on my shoulders.
- 39:06I was looking into a light. I was half sleeping though, and
- 39:11I was giving my life over to Christ in my dream.
- 39:16The way that it went down though was it was as if I was walking
- 39:20into a film and I'm seeing how the story ends and I don't know
- 39:23everything that happened before. But there I am, staring into a
- 39:26great bright light in my lucid dream on my knees, and I feel
- 39:31two hands, one on each shoulder, and goosebumps fill my body.
- 39:36And you know, we've all felt goosebumps, whether it's a
- 39:39loving experience or it's, you know, we watch a great film or
- 39:43we read a great book or we hear great music.
- 39:46You know, for you and I could share that.
- 39:47I know you've certainly had with your love of music had that
- 39:50those goosebumps. Multiply that by like 1000.
- 39:54And that's how I felt in my lucid dream.
- 39:56Never felt anything before. Haven't felt anything since.
- 40:00That was about Valentine's Day of 2006 when I was still playing
- 40:05as a non believer in the church is playing.
- 40:08Acoustic guitar. And I was in what's called an
- 40:12Alpha course created by Nicky Gumbles, an Anglican priest in
- 40:18England. And the course is designed for
- 40:21skeptics to ask questions to find out more about Jesus.
- 40:26So I'm taking this class. I have no interest in it, but
- 40:28they're all kind of pushing me to do it, and I want to throw
- 40:31them a bone. It was at the church because
- 40:33they've been so kind to me. So without any expectation, I
- 40:37ended up in that alpha course and God created a series of God
- 40:41incidences during that. The dream happened during that.
- 40:44The Acts 9 sermon happened, I think just as that was ending in
- 40:50March of 2006. And I had moments in the Alpha
- 40:57chorus where I was reading scripture actively and I, and
- 41:00there was 1 moment in particular I remember in the morning I read
- 41:03a scripture. I can't remember what it was now
- 41:05because again, I wasn't recording this, you know, I
- 41:07didn't know what was happening to me and I didn't know this was
- 41:11going to happen later. But I remember reading
- 41:13something, I think it was in Timothy, first Timothy maybe,
- 41:17and it was Paul being a cheerleader to the Christian
- 41:19people. And I was so impressed by these
- 41:22words that he said, I don't remember what they were, but
- 41:24those very words. There was somebody who cut out a
- 41:27bunch of different verses all around at this alpha course.
- 41:30And my seat had the very verse that I read that morning that I
- 41:33was impressed with. And I looked up in the sky.
- 41:36I remember that was 1 moment where I just said Oh my God I I
- 41:39feel like you're telling me that the track that you have me on is
- 41:47the truth and that this isn't all a bunch of BS.
- 41:51This is reality. And when I had that dream though
- 41:57I didn't even tell my wife for a day because I was embarrassed.
- 42:01I told her she got a smile because she was a Christian
- 42:03already. Thank God she married a Wretch
- 42:06like me. God LED her to do that and she
- 42:09was the best example of Christian Christianity for me.
- 42:13Grace and mercy for sure. And when I ended up telling her,
- 42:17she got a smile and she, she knew God was working on me and
- 42:23she just told me to keep, keep listening and that she was going
- 42:27to keep praying. And then so that was about
- 42:30Valentine's in the March was the Acts 9 sermon.
- 42:34And I made the choice shortly after that sermon, I went to the
- 42:37pastor's office and I said, I, I want to be baptized, but I have,
- 42:42I have one last hurdle that I'm having a lot of trouble with.
- 42:47And that last hurdle for me was I come from a Jewish background.
- 42:52And I was thinking about all of my relatives who were waiting
- 42:55for a Messiah, particularly my great grandfather and my great
- 42:59grandmother. They came, they escaped the
- 43:01Cossacks from the Ukraine and they, they landed in, in
- 43:06Brooklyn. And I know that my, they were
- 43:10waiting for a Messiah. And I said I I have a, I have a.
- 43:14Problem. With my family, who doesn't know
- 43:18Jesus being in hell, the pastor said something to me that it
- 43:22wasn't. It didn't make me feel any
- 43:24better. I didn't like it.
- 43:26He said, well, people can choose.
- 43:30Here and. In the afterlife, they wouldn't
- 43:34change their mind. And I said, well, I don't know.
- 43:36I didn't know my great grandfather, but I put myself in
- 43:40this position. He died before I was born, but
- 43:43if I could see him at the feet of Christ and he'd be like, oh,
- 43:47hey, I didn't realize, you know, and I think he would change his
- 43:50mind in. The end my.
- 43:53Resolution for that is the same that I have today.
- 43:56People say, well, if I don't believe in Jesus, am I going to
- 43:58hell? I said, well, scripture leads us
- 44:02there, but I'll say this, I know of 1 and I compare it because I,
- 44:06I love modern culture, part of my being a music musician.
- 44:10I love music too, but I love the film Willy Wonka and the
- 44:15Chocolate Factory, you know, and I say, well, I know of 1 golden
- 44:18ticket. I'll get you that golden place.
- 44:21And that's Jesus. And that's, that's the guarantee
- 44:24that I know that I've taught that I've learned in the end,
- 44:28and this is how I, I got past the hurdle wasn't jumping over
- 44:31it. It was sort of going around was
- 44:33to say, I trust in the promises of God, the hope that I have in
- 44:38in the cross and in Jesus and what he did, that whatever is
- 44:42going to happen in the end will be God's perfect justice, God's
- 44:47perfect righteousness, and I will therefore accept it.
- 44:51And that's been satisfactory for me.
- 44:56So this next question. I have for you is a
- 44:59hypothetical. God tells you that there is 3
- 45:02major things. You can choose whatever you
- 45:05want. Three major things that you can
- 45:07do for yourself personally and your family, and then another
- 45:11three things that you can do that will affect all of humanity
- 45:15or the world itself. You can do anything 3 for your
- 45:19family and you and three for the world.
- 45:22What would you do, God? I don't know.
- 45:25That's a hard question. I mean, I'd, I'd have to sit and
- 45:27think about that. I, I for my family, there's,
- 45:30there's nothing. I mean, I would say for every
- 45:32member of my family doesn't know Jesus, I would ask God.
- 45:37For. His favor to lead them to him in
- 45:42the same way that he did to me. Whatever.
- 45:44Because I think people are in their own different
- 45:46circumstances. That's selfishly what I'd ask my
- 45:50own immediate family. I've I've my my son follows
- 45:55Jesus, my wife follows Jesus. And so in in our little small
- 46:01little circle of three, we're successful and we own, you know,
- 46:05we have a home, we're comfortable and God has blessed
- 46:08us immensely. So there's nothing I would ask
- 46:10other than for members of my family, non believers to have
- 46:13the gift of belief as far as it relates for the world.
- 46:18I would pray the same thing that I pray for this community, but
- 46:21it's this community is a reflection of the world and
- 46:25there's evil exists in this world because God allows it to.
- 46:30And so I, I would just pray that that I.
- 46:34Be an instrument. And my family be an instrument
- 46:38for the world, one person at a time who's brought into our to
- 46:43into my presence in person that I might be able to shine the
- 46:49light of Jesus without having to hammer the truth of Jesus on
- 46:54their heads. And that could be done as simply
- 46:57as buying somebody lunch if they're hungry or.
- 47:02Praying for. Somebody if they're on the
- 47:04streets and they're struggling, something like that.
- 47:07So that's my answer off the top. To have three and three, I don't
- 47:12know, but I know. Think about it and get.
- 47:16Back to it if you feel you need to.
- 47:18No, that's I think that would be the.
- 47:20Answer that I'd say just in each instance for the world.
- 47:23I would say let me be a better example for you.
- 47:26Jesus, that's even just one soul can be saved.
- 47:31Because of. The light that you gave me God
- 47:34to shine upon others, and I did it correctly for once.
- 47:38So I guess there's some selfish factor to that, but we'll leave
- 47:42it at that. That's a tough question.
- 47:44What would you answer? And you can edit that out well
- 47:48for my. For my family, obviously there
- 47:51would be things where I don't want to.
- 47:53I don't want my family to need for anything.
- 47:56I don't want them to suffer in any kind of way.
- 47:59Things like that. As far as the world, it's really
- 48:02difficult. One of the things I've
- 48:04discovered and why some of my prayers don't appear to come to
- 48:08fruition is because sometimes I ask things of God where it
- 48:12would. It would call on him or demand
- 48:15that he changes the free will of others.
- 48:18And I know he's just simply not going to do that.
- 48:20So it's, it's really difficult as I, I always felt with music
- 48:26or talking to people, you could reach out to folks.
- 48:28And one of the things that keeps me going, Rob, is whether
- 48:32there's 10 people listening or there's 1000 people listening,
- 48:36if I can just view in my mind that one person has gotten some
- 48:40even a little bit of light and opened up their mind, that's
- 48:44that's beautiful to me. Might, I might not be able to
- 48:47change folks and all that, but that's really, it's not because
- 48:51of you and it's not because your light ain't shining, but it's
- 48:54because they have made the choice to close themselves off.
- 48:57And I hope you realize that, Rob.
- 49:00Yeah. But it's it's a.
- 49:01Struggle cause at the same time too, in order to benefit others
- 49:05I can particularly in this community I've I've been in a
- 49:09position where I've felt led to expose evil and to watch actual
- 49:18people who I know are brothers and sisters in Christ.
- 49:21And that might very well even include the person I talked to
- 49:23tonight who I was mocking that. It saddens me to.
- 49:30See them get influenced even when the evil is exposed and to
- 49:40bypass it. To consider it.
- 49:44And there's something to be said about God's forgiveness that can
- 49:49that is. Definitely.
- 49:51Possible for those people who participate in such evil, but
- 49:54when the evil is unrepentant and it's lied about and all those
- 49:59things, I think it's probably one of my.
- 50:04Many character. Faults is that I get frustrated
- 50:08with people who don't see clearly the evil that is that I
- 50:14see clearly. You know what I'm saying there,
- 50:17you understand? Yeah, I.
- 50:21Remember whenever I've had these moments where I want, I want
- 50:25justice, I want fairness. And I've, I remember there's
- 50:29been times in my life where I thought I really got this evil
- 50:33person. I mean, I've, I've got the goods
- 50:35on them. And then whenever you show it,
- 50:38people don't care because they're just as evil as well.
- 50:42It's a very strange, uncomfortable feeling when you
- 50:46know that it's almost like you're in the Twilight Zone,
- 50:49like you're in a world filled with books, but everybody's
- 50:52blind. Yeah.
- 50:54So they. Yeah.
- 50:56And that's where we're at, right?
- 50:57Now actually in that in the particular divide of it's it's
- 51:01called free grace versus whatever they are.
- 51:05And that's the big dispute that I happen to be involved with.
- 51:09But not everyone is hyper free grace that is in lumped into the
- 51:14free grace. You know, you got Bruce, who's a
- 51:16Wesleyan conditionalist, mostly the opposite of Free Grace and
- 51:22me, who's like a sort of a hybrid of are you talking about
- 51:25Bruce as in the. Bruce of her, yeah, but he
- 51:27doesn't like that. So I'd hope that you wouldn't
- 51:30say I, I, I won't, I won't. Use that word and all that.
- 51:33But he was in a room with Beckel less than a week ago and he said
- 51:37that he doesn't believe in Jesus.
- 51:40Well, he he. He does that because they know
- 51:43that he does in the same way Ryan had his whole chat tonight
- 51:47about me. Is Rob a Jew?
- 51:50Is he a Christian? Is he a Zoroastrianism?
- 51:52And I misspelled it on purpose and even put a picture of Zoro
- 51:57the character and Rob I I. Understand what you're getting
- 52:02at and I've I know that you got a great sense of humor.
- 52:05I realize that I I try, so does. Bruce.
- 52:08But Bruce gets frustrated with people.
- 52:09He's somebody because he's been pushed away.
- 52:12And somebody like Bruce, I, I definitely vibe with because he
- 52:19has that same sense of wanting to fight evil and the evil
- 52:24response. And I'm not saying Beckel, for
- 52:26instance, in that case is evil, but I think he might be led by
- 52:29it because he's, you know, bad. Company corrupts good.
- 52:33Manners. I forget what how exactly it
- 52:35goes in the Bible. He's hanging around certain
- 52:39people that are leading him to do and say.
- 52:44Things that are hurtful. Bruce's response to that is
- 52:47similar to what my response was with the Jewish thing and the
- 52:51it's it's to sarcastically respond.
- 52:54Why would Bruce care so much about all this stuff if he's not
- 52:59a believer? Well, Rob, I can.
- 53:01Completely I can. Completely.
- 53:02Understand if someone says look, you're upsetting me, I think
- 53:06you're an asshole or something, fine.
- 53:09But the denouncing Jesus Christ thing publicly, that's that's
- 53:13not healthy for him. You might want to have a talk
- 53:15with him. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 53:16Well, we we've. Talked many times about it.
- 53:18I've talked to him about that when he would do the same thing
- 53:23but not denounce Christ. I've never heard him denounce
- 53:26Christ in the way, you know that I get an actual denunciation.
- 53:31But he did stuff when people would say, I remember the mighty
- 53:34wind time. I don't know if you were
- 53:36involved with that at all. I don't think you were.
- 53:38I heard about the. Drama, but I didn't really they
- 53:41would say. They would say that we were
- 53:43doing voodoo cults and cursing them and all these things.
- 53:46So he did a whole video where he was doing voodoo curses and they
- 53:50use that to say see? In the same way that somebody.
- 53:55Like Ryan would use the Bruce's denunciation to go see and it
- 54:00was so absurd. The more absurd that it got with
- 54:03A Mighty Wind, the more absurd it just felt to try and defend
- 54:08it. There was one guy in that group
- 54:10who left the A Mighty Wind cult who they claimed was an A
- 54:14werewolf. They actually said, Brett, that
- 54:15I'm a vampire. They did a.
- 54:18They did a a. Video that was an hour long,
- 54:21allegedly proving that I'm actually a vampire.
- 54:24I'm not going to get too much into that, but they said about
- 54:26one of their former members that I held hold on one second a.
- 54:29Twilight Vampire or Lost Boys Dracula version?
- 54:33Which one? Unfortunately.
- 54:35Twilight, I think because they they were, they used Robert
- 54:38Pattinson to refer to me. Unfortunately.
- 54:40I wish it was Kiefer, but, well, those kind of vampires.
- 54:44Aren't terrible. They sparkle.
- 54:46Yeah, yeah. I mean you'd.
- 54:48Think so. But anyway, one of these former
- 54:50members was accused of getting converted because we were I was
- 54:54a 62nd Mason vampire and some other people were something else
- 54:59lizard people, reptilians. And we converted him into a
- 55:04werewolf. So he had his wife do a video
- 55:08where he no joke, humped in the dark, the tailpipe of his car
- 55:17making moans like he was a werewolf.
- 55:20Now the choice of that was not not the choice that I would have
- 55:24made, but he did that none the less.
- 55:27And they it mighty when people use that to say see he's a
- 55:31werewolf. And so Ryan does this video
- 55:35tonight to go see he's confused. He's having identity.
- 55:39Christ. Is he a Jew or is he a Christian
- 55:42or is he a Zoroastrian with the picture Brett of Zorro?
- 55:46Well. Isn't I mean.
- 55:50This might come off naive or silly.
- 55:53I'm still a work in progress. But if you're a Christian, you
- 55:57sort of have to hold on to Judaism as well, right?
- 56:01Well. Yeah, I, I obviously, I don't
- 56:05think we hold on to ceremonial now.
- 56:09I, I was, I mean, there's some that disagree with me, but I, I
- 56:13don't think Romans 14 is, is very, very clear for me on this
- 56:18issue, which talks about if a brother does something, it's all
- 56:21about I. Think what God wants.
- 56:24For us, whether it's observing the Sabbath, that's what you
- 56:27want to do and I don't do that, or if it's observing Yom Kippur,
- 56:32Rosh Hashanah, or the Feast of Days, a Feast of Tabernacles,
- 56:37all that stuff that's in there, more power to you if it
- 56:41influences for. The better your.
- 56:44Faith. But if instead it's used as a
- 56:48means for you to point fingers at someone else, then you're
- 56:51using it for the wrong reasons. That being said, it was a joy,
- 56:58as you probably heard me explain if you were watching that
- 57:01ridiculous train wreck tonight, that I still have Jewish
- 57:04relatives and it was a joy for my wife to see.
- 57:07I I didn't start dating my wife until just after my bar mitzvah.
- 57:10Believe it or not, we've been together a long time.
- 57:13So we started dating. She met me when I was 13, but I
- 57:15was turning just turning 14, so I think she met me around the
- 57:21time that I had my bar mitzvah. And.
- 57:25Once I had my bar mitzvah, I was out.
- 57:27I wanted nothing more to do because it was a bunch of rich
- 57:29people in my area and my family wasn't rich.
- 57:33So I I'm going off on a tangent now.
- 57:36I don't even know what we were talking about about about
- 57:39Judaism. So it's like Judaism.
- 57:42God gifted me with faith that Jesus is the way, the truth and
- 57:46the life before I knew every single one of the gold threads
- 57:52that tie in the old and the new. And it was the more that I
- 57:55studied, I saw how they all thread together.
- 57:59And it was the thing that convinced me intellectually.
- 58:03So God reached me first in the heart and.
- 58:08Then. Once I decided, 'cause you know,
- 58:10I like I'm evidence based guy, I'm a lawyer, I decided, let me
- 58:14look at this stuff. What is it that I believe in?
- 58:16Why? And I started to see the
- 58:18connections. It really, really strengthened
- 58:21my faith. It turned my faith from a, a
- 58:24blind faith, if you will. Like, I don't know why I believe
- 58:28that Jesus is God. I don't know why I I in my
- 58:31testimony and of course churches love new believers.
- 58:35So they were very excited because they knew me as a non
- 58:38believer for 11 months. And as I stood there for the
- 58:40first time giving my testimony, I said, I go, I just know.
- 58:46And I don't know why, but Jesus is God.
- 58:51And I was afraid that people might throw tomatoes.
- 58:55And if I was in a a certain denominations, it might have
- 58:59happened. Fortunately I was in a Lutheran
- 59:00Church and I do believe Jesus is God, so a part of the Trinity.
- 59:07But I didn't know for. Sure, and it wasn't until I
- 59:10started to read that I started to dot the IS and cross the T's.
- 59:17So there are. Passages in the Bible where it
- 59:20says expose evil wherever you find it, but there's also
- 59:25passages where Jesus says if they won't hear you and listen
- 59:29to you, then dust off your sandals and go the other
- 59:31direction. So obviously God's given options
- 59:34on how to handle, you know, wickedness or people who just
- 59:38won't listen. So why do you think it is that
- 59:41you seem more magnetized towards exposed evil as opposed to
- 59:45taking Plan B? Because.
- 59:49They I see good. People that get influenced to do
- 59:53bad things and to absorb bad theologies and and to attack.
- 1:00:02People that. I that are brothers and sisters
- 1:00:05in Christ who I love and also attacked me and my family.
- 1:00:08I mean, in the in the case of the guy tonight, he's actually
- 1:00:13threatened to harm my livelihood.
- 1:00:17So there's a part of the mission to expose selfishly how dumb the
- 1:00:23man is. And in order to show people or
- 1:00:29hopefully reveal to people that he's not someone he he makes a
- 1:00:32lot of false accusations. He slanders me.
- 1:00:35It's to get people to see the slander.
- 1:00:39That's self preservation mode. But I, I say, I think I did
- 1:00:41tonight. But in the in the case of some
- 1:00:45other characters here, it's particularly as their double and
- 1:00:49triple downs on harming brothers and sisters in Christ.
- 1:00:54And that is just, it's one thing to dust your feet.
- 1:00:58It's an and, which I mostly have, but it's another thing to
- 1:01:02defend brothers and sisters in Christ who may be hurting and.
- 1:01:07That's I think. What motivates me in this
- 1:01:09community when I get motivated enough to go?
- 1:01:13After somebody. Who isn't going after me?
- 1:01:17Sounds like you got the same. Vulnerability that I do that
- 1:01:19I've admitted to and conceded to.
- 1:01:21People say whatever they want about me.
- 1:01:24But when people say things about people, I love that, that
- 1:01:28definitely it's a it's a but. And I know that or you know.
- 1:01:33Like I, I'm a. Member of a licensing board,
- 1:01:36State Bar, California. And this particular individual I
- 1:01:41spoke to tonight has made threats.
- 1:01:43And actually According to him, I don't know whether he's lying or
- 1:01:46not, he's a notorious liar, actually filed A complaint
- 1:01:50against me that nothing came out of it.
- 1:01:53And I don't, I don't imagine why based on the reasons he said,
- 1:01:58but the fact that he's motivated to do that and he has encouraged
- 1:02:02other people to do it and another person who threatened to
- 1:02:07do it as well. And I don't know if they did it
- 1:02:09or not, but it's, it's those kind of things that, yeah, you,
- 1:02:14you could, you could. Say anything you.
- 1:02:17Want about me, I don't care. They could say, like tonight,
- 1:02:21that character that I talked to, he said Rob Reed proved he's not
- 1:02:24a Christian. I don't care.
- 1:02:26I know who I am. I know my identity in Christ.
- 1:02:29He could call me everything in the book.
- 1:02:31He could say I'm a fake lawyer or whatever you want.
- 1:02:33I know who I am, what degrees I have, whatever, but the minute
- 1:02:38you attack my family, especially related to these dramas, that's
- 1:02:42where I'm going to be extra. Venomous wouldn't be.
- 1:02:49The right word? I'm not sure that'll work.
- 1:02:52That sounds about that sounds like a little fit, yeah.
- 1:02:57So, Rob, have you ever? I, I don't know if you've
- 1:03:00noticed this and all the time that you and I've been on
- 1:03:03YouTube, but I get to a point where it's like, OK, I need a
- 1:03:07break from this. And I just, I go my merry way
- 1:03:10and I always feel a lot better. I always feel like I'm ready for
- 1:03:14a new day once I do decide at some point time to return.
- 1:03:18Has that ever been a thought? Aren't it?
- 1:03:20Oh yeah, for sure. And that's why I did what I did
- 1:03:26in 2023, which I encourage you to do.
- 1:03:29It'd be pretty cool if you decided to do it.
- 1:03:31And I don't know if you're led to do it to actually read
- 1:03:34Scripture, like take a Bible in your reading and do it once a
- 1:03:38day, open up chat and have people just talk about the
- 1:03:41reading. That was my goal and I, I got a
- 1:03:47lot out of it. So, and that was totally a God
- 1:03:49thing. It helped that it came at at a
- 1:03:53time when one of the evils that existed here.
- 1:03:58You know, I don't like to use a non biblical thing, but you
- 1:04:01know, karma. I don't believe in karma per SE,
- 1:04:04but I'm using it as a late. What you sow is kind.
- 1:04:07Of like karma exactly and so. This particular individual in
- 1:04:11our community reaped what he sowed he and unfortunately, I
- 1:04:18think God was sending him a message.
- 1:04:20Slow down, behave yourself, be contrite, recognize that you
- 1:04:28aren't all that that you. There's a lot for you to learn
- 1:04:32that perhaps you should not be a teacher, you're not qualified to
- 1:04:36be. And so we'll make sure that we
- 1:04:37establish reasons as stated in Scripture of why you would not
- 1:04:42be qualified to be and have actually have it become public
- 1:04:46and all that stuff is public and then that person, so that person
- 1:04:50left. There was a lot of disgruntled
- 1:04:53people. There was there were problems in
- 1:04:56this community and God led me to write some more music.
- 1:04:59That was 2023 was a great year for me in that regard because I
- 1:05:05I was writing music. I was in his word every day and
- 1:05:08I was actively thinking about what his word was saying to me
- 1:05:14and I learned so much. And so I've had those moments
- 1:05:19now YouTube I, I try and use for fellowship if I can, but it's,
- 1:05:24it's just, it's, it's reached the stage where it's, it's
- 1:05:30really stagnant here. But this, this particular
- 1:05:33community that I just happened to fall into.
- 1:05:35So there are so many other communities out there that Brad,
- 1:05:41I would encourage you to try and like move on to, to bigger
- 1:05:44pastures or at least don't be depend if I was to start again.
- 1:05:49And maybe it will happen because my son's about to start college
- 1:05:54and so my wife and I are going to have fewer things to focus
- 1:05:58on. So I might very well get back to
- 1:06:01trying to work on YouTube channels or do more Bible
- 1:06:03studies and things like that. Maybe.
- 1:06:06But. Well, I got an idea for.
- 1:06:10You that you might actually be interested in.
- 1:06:13You ever heard a copilot? No.
- 1:06:17It's a let. Me, let me get you this link

- 1:06:54don't like me. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying

- 1:07:46I'm on the thing with. You can you hear me?
- 1:07:49OK. Yeah, you might have to.
- 1:07:54Do the settings where your microphone's going through it in
- 1:07:57order to hear it. Yeah, it's OK.
- 1:07:59I'll. Try it out though.
- 1:08:01So you you can. It's just a.

- 1:08:38All right. You able to?
- 1:08:42OK. You can see it on the screen
- 1:08:43through your shared screen. Yeah.
- 1:08:45All right. Hello.
- 1:08:52Hey, how you doing? Well, hold on one second, Rob.
- 1:08:58Can you hear it? No.
- 1:09:01You can't hear it, Rob. I didn't.
- 1:09:04I thought I heard the hello first though, but I didn't.
- 1:09:06I didn't hear it just now after you said how you doing?
- 1:09:08Let me. There's a share audio.
- 1:09:12Share. Tab and share.
- 1:09:14Audio audio on there. OK.
- 1:09:18I think I saw. You do something fairly recently
- 1:09:20with this let's. See.
- 1:09:25You were you were doing. Some.
- 1:09:26You were having a theological conversation with it, I think.
- 1:09:30Let's. Try this.
- 1:09:32I'm trying to it's not wanting to hit go through on the share
- 1:09:40part for some reason. Let.
- 1:09:44Me see if it how's it going? Tell me a little bit.
- 1:09:55About Jesus. Check.
- 1:10:01Tell me about. Jesus, it says.
- 1:10:08I have two minutes remaining. Yeah, you got to be signed.
- 1:10:12In in order for it to go through.
- 1:10:15Yeah, I'll, I'll try it. When we get off, it's something
- 1:10:17probably. Well, the the point.
- 1:10:20Was is that if you decide to do a video like what you're talking
- 1:10:23about where you read in scripture, you could actually
- 1:10:26have a discussion with it back and forth on it.
- 1:10:29And the beauty of it is is it isn't all emotional.
- 1:10:33So it's not going to get aggravated with you if you know
- 1:10:36you say something that doesn't like so you might enjoy that.
- 1:10:41Thanks, I'm. Going to keep it.
- 1:10:47Yeah, you probably did. See me do a couple videos like
- 1:10:50that. It's complicated to try to do it
- 1:10:52through stream yards, but there you go.
- 1:10:54Yeah, I'm, I'm trying. To remember what you did.
- 1:10:56I think I disagreed with the point that it was making.
- 1:11:00I can't remember what you guys were talking about though, or
- 1:11:02you were talking about with the machine.
- 1:11:04We've talked about everything. For free will predestination,
- 1:11:07are we under laws and commandments?
- 1:11:11It might have been that it might have.
- 1:11:13Been on the Old Testament versus New, right?
- 1:11:17Did you do that? I kind of.
- 1:11:19Remember that I think talked about all kinds of.
- 1:11:21Stuff. Yeah, I.
- 1:11:23Just would say, you know. You're better off with an actual
- 1:11:26like live person who studied, I'm not saying me, but like a
- 1:11:30pastor and person. Do you go to church or you find
- 1:11:33you didn't find a church that like you fit?
- 1:11:36There's one little church. In my area and I, it's the
- 1:11:40church my grandfather goes to. I went with him and he tried to
- 1:11:46humiliate me at the church. So I, yeah, what he did was, you
- 1:11:51know, he said you're going to really like this church, will
- 1:11:53you go with me? And he pleaded with me over and
- 1:11:56over to go. Well, unfortunately my
- 1:11:58grandfather has memory issues. Sometimes he forgets that I'm a
- 1:12:02Christian and that I'm saved. He still thinks that I'm a non
- 1:12:06believer. So we get in there and he goes,
- 1:12:09my grandson, he's a Satanist, you know, to the whole
- 1:12:12congregation. I'm like, no, I'm not anything
- 1:12:16like that. I'm a Christian and I used to be
- 1:12:19a skeptic and all this. And they go, well, it's nice to
- 1:12:22meet you and all that. And he goes, yeah, he was just
- 1:12:24as evil as can be. And it, it would just made
- 1:12:28things really uncomfortable, awkward.
- 1:12:30They did talk to me on the side and say, look, we we understand
- 1:12:34your grandfather's older and he's got some issues.
- 1:12:38You're always welcome to come in and all that.
- 1:12:40I said, well, if I do, it probably won't be while my
- 1:12:43grandfather's actually here because I don't want to go
- 1:12:45through that. Yeah, I'm sorry that.
- 1:12:49Happened to you, But it's important to have that kind of
- 1:12:53fellowship in person. You're not going to agree with
- 1:12:56everything, but you need that. You know, there are people that
- 1:13:03have studied a lot more than we have.
- 1:13:06I know you've studied a lot though, and I've studied a lot,
- 1:13:10but there I Rob, unfortunately. For me, I did actually try to go
- 1:13:15out to a church a little bit. I actually my wife wanted to try
- 1:13:19going to church again too. And I told her, hey, you know,
- 1:13:23go for it if if it makes you happy and you feel like this is
- 1:13:26the way to go, rock'n'roll. When she went there, apparently
- 1:13:30my name had gotten so popular at that point and stuff that even
- 1:13:35the some of the churches knew who I was and they basically
- 1:13:38tried to. I hate to.
- 1:13:41Say it, but they. Actually tried to get her to
- 1:13:43divorce me because they said that she was unevenly yoked so.
- 1:13:48That's the reason. Why?
- 1:13:50I don't want to put myself in a position.
- 1:13:52I don't mind people disagreeing with me.
- 1:13:55I don't mind, you know, there being some different
- 1:13:57interpretations. I'm a very lenient, laid back
- 1:14:00type of guy, but man, they went right at the wife and everything
- 1:14:05and we've got children together, everything else.
- 1:14:07And it's like, man, we don't need that kind of nonsense in
- 1:14:11our life. I'm sorry that happened to you.
- 1:14:13Do you are you like right away kind of vocal and people know
- 1:14:16who you are right away or like do you go out to introduce
- 1:14:19yourself kind of thing right away or are you kind of passive?
- 1:14:24See the problem? Rob is that whenever I was an
- 1:14:26atheist, I was big on going to different churches and sitting
- 1:14:31down with the preachers and having discussions with them.
- 1:14:34And I would ask some permission if I could record and all that.
- 1:14:37And there were also phone discussions where I let people
- 1:14:41know. I don't know if you Remember Me,
- 1:14:42Do I remember? So I I was.
- 1:14:45Never if you remember I'd never called them names.
- 1:14:49I was never cruel or anything like that.
- 1:14:51We just had chill conversations and I truly wanted to understand
- 1:14:55where they were coming from. But because of that I've become
- 1:15:00like a it doesn't matter how much I say I'm saved or I've
- 1:15:05accepted Jesus for some reason Lutheran seem very cool.
- 1:15:10They seem nice and and let things fly.
- 1:15:12But boy oh boy, if I go near a Pentecostal or Baptist Church,
- 1:15:16there's a good chance I might get taken behind the woodshed.
- 1:15:19Wow. That's too bad.
- 1:15:23That's rough. I'm.
- 1:15:25Sorry, I get it that Rob, it's it's.
- 1:15:28My own fault. I shouldn't have irritated
- 1:15:32people. Well, of all people that.
- 1:15:33Should be forgiving and understand it'd be, you know,
- 1:15:36allegedly Christian leadership but.
- 1:15:40Unfortunately, I guess. There's you.
- 1:15:44Know. We it's not as much of a
- 1:15:45cesspool in real life, but there there is church politics.
- 1:15:49I see it less in California. Let's just say that so well, I
- 1:15:52always remind. Myself, anytime I run into some
- 1:15:56people who are like that, whether they're in the Church of
- 1:15:58social media, the Bible clearly says that there's going to be
- 1:16:02false teachers, there's going to be wolves.
- 1:16:04So and the, and the, if the weight is narrow, then doesn't
- 1:16:08that logically, rationally mean that a lot of people out there
- 1:16:11are not going to be on the right road or maybe they're in a
- 1:16:15pothole at the moment? So I just think of it like that.
- 1:16:18And I just figured God will when whenever he's ready to will him,
- 1:16:22they'll they'll get in the direction they need to go or
- 1:16:25they'll go somewhere else. That's.
- 1:16:28Where I. Went that was the way I dodged
- 1:16:30the hurdle. That's pretty much another way
- 1:16:32to say it, right? It was like I I trust in God.
- 1:16:35I trust in his goodness and and I will and his perfect justice
- 1:16:39and I will accept that notwithstanding my own personal
- 1:16:43desires. Yeah.
- 1:16:45You know, Rob, you were saying? That you, it's very important to
- 1:16:48you that evil is exposed and all that.
- 1:16:51There's one thing I've learned, but sometimes if you just back
- 1:16:55away and just let God take care of it, evil people tend to
- 1:16:59eventually hang themselves. I, I don't know if that makes
- 1:17:03sense to you, but they, they'll do something, they'll, they'll
- 1:17:06make a really, really bad thing and they'll end up burning the
- 1:17:10very bridge that they're standing on.
- 1:17:13We've seen. It I've seen it.
- 1:17:14Here I've seen it. Here I saw a guy that was
- 1:17:18accusatory of a variety of different people and and hateful
- 1:17:22two brothers and sisters in Christ and he pled guilty to
- 1:17:27something pretty nasty. I know who you're.
- 1:17:30Talking. About that person was awful to
- 1:17:32me. They made it very difficult for
- 1:17:34me to be able to find any room in the Christian community once
- 1:17:38I became a Christian. But I didn't.
- 1:17:42I did not I. Did not celebrate whenever they
- 1:17:45fell, though. I did not go.
- 1:17:47Oh, thank you. Jesus.
- 1:17:48I thought what happened was horrible.
- 1:17:50I yeah, I I didn't. Say thank you Jesus either I
- 1:17:55what I did say and how I felt was that that the.
- 1:18:01Reaping. From the sowing has occurred or
- 1:18:05the sowing, you know, the reaping and sowing has occurred
- 1:18:07for what was sown. So I, I did see, I was hopeful
- 1:18:13that the individual would would change and unfortunately that
- 1:18:20didn't happen. So that.
- 1:18:22Saddens me more than. Anything else?
- 1:18:25Do you want me to? Later on, change the title to
- 1:18:28Rob and Brett. Just have a discussion and all
- 1:18:31that, because it seems like you got a lot of things on your
- 1:18:34mind, and if you'd rather talk about that than me hitting you
- 1:18:38with these questions and stuff about all this, you seem like
- 1:18:42you got a burden on you right now, really.
- 1:18:46Yeah, this I. Mean, I, I know that you laugh
- 1:18:49and everything and you try to have fun and take it as a joke,
- 1:18:52but you seem like it's, it's kind of weighing on you a bit.
- 1:18:58Well, I mean. It it does sadden me that that
- 1:19:02evil. Can have a foothold.
- 1:19:06Among people that it where it shouldn't.
- 1:19:09So that would be the burden. I guess if you see that I don't
- 1:19:12feel it as a burden. That's why I'm kind of surprised
- 1:19:14that you said because I don't think about this on a daily
- 1:19:17basis. You know, might be awesome, but
- 1:19:23if you're an empathetic. Person you're you're a person
- 1:19:26that wants to see changes and all that.
- 1:19:28Now, if you could have it the way you wanted, when when you we
- 1:19:32talk about exposing evil, how would you define that exactly?
- 1:19:37I've got my own version of what exposing evil means.
- 1:19:40Now, if you could have it your way, what would that look like?
- 1:19:44Visualize it for me. Well, I'd I'd think from.
- 1:19:47A biblical standpoint. Now this YouTube is not church
- 1:19:51and I've said that since I started.
- 1:19:54So we have to be careful. However, the church exists in
- 1:19:57it, that being where two or more gathered.
- 1:20:00He's here and the church is the people's, the body of Christ,
- 1:20:05the brothers and sisters in Christ.
- 1:20:08And so the way that that looks in any community that involves
- 1:20:11brothers and sisters in Christ is to reveal to them to people
- 1:20:18who need. To be warned.
- 1:20:20To see the presence of the evil and then they have to decide on
- 1:20:26their own whether you know they're going to accept that or
- 1:20:28whether they're going to embrace it.
- 1:20:30The sad thing is in in this community, again, there's a lot
- 1:20:34of people where this is a substantial part of their life
- 1:20:40that they they find an attraction to a power that.
- 1:20:51Anti fruit of the. Spirit can get you with the
- 1:20:55world, you know, in a tension through hatred and discord and
- 1:21:01dissension and lacking of love and hatred and all of those
- 1:21:06things. People embrace that.
- 1:21:11And 1st Corinthians 5 shows us a, a standard that Paul had with
- 1:21:19the church to say we we can't tolerate this stuff.
- 1:21:28You know, that you're freely tolerating evil in your midst
- 1:21:33and a little yeast messes up the whole dough.
- 1:21:37So that's how it I picture it here.
- 1:21:42The problem is that those kind of things should be done from a
- 1:21:46biblical standpoint in private, and that's where the fine line
- 1:21:52goes. So the right way to do it would
- 1:21:54be in private. I don't do.
- 1:21:57It that way, but usually, you know, I, I, I would be happy to
- 1:22:02talk. For instance, the person I
- 1:22:03talked to tonight, if he didn't intend on trying to embarrass me
- 1:22:07or disparage me or slander me, he wouldn't have done.
- 1:22:10He had these questions for me, allegedly, if he truly sought my
- 1:22:15best interest. And again, I'm not saying I'm
- 1:22:17any different. I like, I, I've made the same
- 1:22:20mistakes continuously. But if he truly felt that he
- 1:22:24wanted to win a brother or he wanted to get peace or he wanted
- 1:22:27to really have answers to his questions, he would have said,
- 1:22:30Rob, send me an e-mail. You know, I have these questions
- 1:22:33about you. I think you have an identity
- 1:22:35crisis. I think you have mental illness.
- 1:22:36What is happening with you? Those kind of things that he
- 1:22:41would have done it in private. I see why.
- 1:22:44Does he think there's some? Kind of identity crisis.
- 1:22:47I didn't understand any of that that was going on because I'm
- 1:22:51because I'm trolling. Him on my own community page.
- 1:22:53He he he says that I'm a a cyber stalker and he claims that I am
- 1:22:58and that he but he stalks me. So I just have to post something
- 1:23:01in my community page and he'll respond to it.
- 1:23:04Even thinking that something I posted has nothing to do with
- 1:23:08him, has everything to do with him.
- 1:23:10So there's an element of me trolling a little bit with that
- 1:23:13stuff. There's no identity crisis.
- 1:23:16My channel is pretty clear and my I'm no different today than I
- 1:23:19was six months ago. You were saying earlier?
- 1:23:24That some of the people that are in the community, both of them,
- 1:23:27obviously the big atheists and the religious community, that
- 1:23:31you find that some people might actually be mentally ill, yes.
- 1:23:37Now you you probably. Realize this just as well as as
- 1:23:41me. But if somebody is insane or
- 1:23:43they're crazy or sociopath, they don't realize that crazy people
- 1:23:48don't know they're crazy. That's where I have, yeah,
- 1:23:53that's where I have some empathy.
- 1:23:54Because there's, there's people in this community that you know,
- 1:23:57I'm a lawyer. I have the means to do certain
- 1:24:00things. Who?
- 1:24:03I could sue, but who I? Am lenient to because of that.
- 1:24:11The the problem with. That is that if their their
- 1:24:13mental illness leads them to do something that could harm me or
- 1:24:16damage me, for instance getting me in trouble with my licensing
- 1:24:20board over YouTube drama, then then I all bets are off at that
- 1:24:28point. But I lawyers.
- 1:24:32Lawyers have. Don't lawyers, no matter how big
- 1:24:35they are or what level of lawyer they are, don't they receive
- 1:24:39hate mail and, and people are always unhappy because things
- 1:24:43didn't go their way or whatever? Well, there's yeah, there's
- 1:24:46always. One side, I mean, I do primarily
- 1:24:48defense work now, so I'm taking depositions of people who I'm
- 1:24:52trying to save my client money. And one of the ways that I do
- 1:24:57that is to try and spot a holes in their case.
- 1:25:00So yeah, I, the people aren't generally fans of me on some
- 1:25:05side. That being said, they don't file
- 1:25:09State Bar complaints against me because I, I hurt their
- 1:25:12feelings. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:25:13What I what I mean is. What I'm getting at is it's,
- 1:25:16it's common practice that people are mean.
- 1:25:19I mean, you even hear the meme about jokes towards lawyers all
- 1:25:22the time, even though I I believe that what they do, a
- 1:25:27great deal of them do it because they actually care and they feel
- 1:25:30it's important to bring just to the client.
- 1:25:33But the point is, is since it's so common that people complain
- 1:25:38and whine, why should there be any concern that any other
- 1:25:43complaints could cause you any kind of issue in the first
- 1:25:46place? I don't know if I understand
- 1:25:49that question. In what context?
- 1:25:50He's saying if somebody well, because lawyers get complained.
- 1:25:53About all the time, Yeah, yeah, no, yeah, I have a thick.
- 1:25:56Skin because of my choice of career.
- 1:25:58So it's it's hard. I'm not talking much personally.
- 1:26:01What I mean is, can if someone were to call and be an idiot and
- 1:26:07say some ignorant stuff about you, it couldn't actually do
- 1:26:10anything to you though, right? Well, I mean it depends.
- 1:26:14It depends on how far they lie. I mean, the person tonight has
- 1:26:17said that I've, I've, I've started a conspiracy against him
- 1:26:23that I call him, you know, APDF file, which I never have.
- 1:26:30You know, all these various things that if he makes a
- 1:26:33complaint to a state licensing board and they don't.
- 1:26:38See. Through the insanity, and it
- 1:26:41requires that I defend myself. Then, you know, it takes time.
- 1:26:45It takes time. And that's concerning the
- 1:26:48system. The system has so many issues
- 1:26:51that it may not be resolved in your favor.
- 1:26:54Well, that's a part of the threat.
- 1:26:56From the other person, the hooded preacher, the Saint his
- 1:27:02his claim to me which showed his animosity and his desire to harm
- 1:27:08me and my family was he feels he got screwed by the secular
- 1:27:14system. So he was going to try and use
- 1:27:17the secular system that screwed him to screw me.
- 1:27:23But you've got a pretty good. Reputation as a lawyer, right?
- 1:27:26There's no issues you really got to worry about, No.
- 1:27:31But it's still, it's the. Idea that somebody's out here
- 1:27:34over YouTube drama trying to do that and to lead other people to
- 1:27:39do it. In fact, in the case of Mr. St.,
- 1:27:43he was going to have 30 other people, most of whom I don't
- 1:27:47even know, sign off on it. And I don't know all the
- 1:27:55insurance. And outs of the drama between
- 1:27:57you and them. Guys, I don't even know how it
- 1:27:59started, but the the only suggestion I can give is it's
- 1:28:03obvious that every time you guys are interacting with each other,
- 1:28:07just flames go up. Maybe just use like an app like
- 1:28:12I do where I can completely block the thumbnails and
- 1:28:15channels or I never have to hear what they say.
- 1:28:18Yeah, yeah. And I I don't.
- 1:28:19I don't listen. It's usually someone else saying
- 1:28:22that they're doing something or they're posting, and I largely
- 1:28:25ignore it. Largely ignore it.
- 1:28:30I hope, I hope. You understand?
- 1:28:31I'm not saying you're right or wrong or anything like that, but
- 1:28:34I agree. But I.
- 1:28:35I'm saying you are right. I I'm agreeing with you that the
- 1:28:41drama here isn't worth any. Emotional.
- 1:28:45Level, but again, like I said, what, what I've seen the amount
- 1:28:50of evil that I've seen, particularly against a family
- 1:28:53who lost a child that I, I personally can't let go of that.
- 1:28:58And it's not even my child who who was harmed.
- 1:29:04But it, I guess maybe there's an element that I think about if
- 1:29:07something did happen to my child, that there would be
- 1:29:09people who allege who, who say and claim Christ, who would be
- 1:29:14overjoyed at the harm of my child and mock me for it or the
- 1:29:19death of my child. I, I cannot that is that sets me
- 1:29:24off so that if you see anything in me, that's it's still, you
- 1:29:28know, we're we're picking at that wound and I have to believe
- 1:29:31that you totally understand that, especially as a father.
- 1:29:34I do. I do.
- 1:29:35But unless you the. Problem is is that.
- 1:29:40You and I are in a position where like if I got people who
- 1:29:44are giving me shit, which I do on a daily basis, I have two
- 1:29:49choices. I can either take it to the Max
- 1:29:51and try to take them to court. Which cops and lawyers around
- 1:29:55here take the Internet as a damn joke?
- 1:29:58Not even right all that. And that's the advice I
- 1:30:00constantly give people is I'm like that.
- 1:30:02What is this? I'm not.
- 1:30:03They don't want me bothered, you know, or, or I can.
- 1:30:07Continue to listen to what the goons who don't like me say.
- 1:30:12See that the only thing it seems like the only option I got is I
- 1:30:16can either let them hurt me and they know what hurts me.
- 1:30:19So they'll keep doing it because that's what manipulative,
- 1:30:22hateful people do. So I just block cracks.
- 1:30:25I just say, all right, I'm done. I'm not hearing this because
- 1:30:29nothing rational is going to come from this side.
- 1:30:33And I know and you're, you're extremely intelligent, Rob.
- 1:30:36So I'm just saying man, maybe it break it off.
- 1:30:40How did you even manage to see the live show was put up about
- 1:30:44you? Well, it appeared in my.
- 1:30:46Feed I I was actually testing something on Stream Yard today
- 1:30:50because my computer here needed to be updated.
- 1:30:54I haven't used in a while and I was thinking of recording some
- 1:30:56music, which I actually did earlier.
- 1:30:58And at the same time I was prepping to make sure I was
- 1:31:02updated and got my stream deck together.
- 1:31:06And I was doing all this stuff and I was testing it.
- 1:31:08And as I was in YouTube testing it, it popped up in my feed as
- 1:31:12suggested. I don't even subscribe to these
- 1:31:14guys and it was probably suggested because he put my name
- 1:31:18in the subject line. I think that I also have.
- 1:31:23This thing too, Rob, where I annoy people because when I'm
- 1:31:27being like confronted and I know someone's trying to dig a hole
- 1:31:30for me and throw me into it, I get kind of passive aggressive.
- 1:31:34I'm like, well that's awful that's terrible news, you know,
- 1:31:38sad to hear about that yeah. And so from.
- 1:31:41Yeah, from me. I mean, the thing, I was getting
- 1:31:43frustrated. I was going to be serious when I
- 1:31:45went into Ryan's chat. I probably wouldn't have been
- 1:31:48very nice, but instead he went through that whole AI thing and
- 1:31:53he booted me three times. And it's like if you put in your
- 1:31:57chat in your subject line of your stream yard thing that
- 1:32:00you're posting or whatever he's doing, the ex, the Evmex or
- 1:32:04whatever it is, you put my name and say inviting Rob Reed.
- 1:32:08And then you don't allow Rob Reed in because you say he's AI.
- 1:32:14Now I'm just going to be, I'm just going to be a total troll
- 1:32:18and that. And that's what I did.
- 1:32:20You know, I did tell him what I would have told him on a serious
- 1:32:25level. For instance, there was a
- 1:32:27picture of me and a Talit and I was in a Jewish synagogue
- 1:32:30because I was at a family member's bar mitzvah and they
- 1:32:34asked me. To.
- 1:32:34Pray. And I thought it was awesome
- 1:32:38because Jesus did the same thing.
- 1:32:41And that's what my my Christian wife, who had never seen a bar
- 1:32:44mitzvah before, she enjoyed as well.
- 1:32:47And my son, who had never seen a bar mitzvah before.
- 1:32:52So what's the issue? Why?
- 1:32:53Why does anybody think it's wrong to to pray with another
- 1:32:57group of people, even if your views are somewhat different?
- 1:33:00Well, I don't think that's. What he was.
- 1:33:02Attacking per SE. He was attacking my trolling in
- 1:33:05my own community chat where I would call myself former former
- 1:33:10Jew to indicate, you know, I did that and then former, former,
- 1:33:14former Jew, clearly. It's it's humorous.
- 1:33:19And clearly it was made to be designed to make it obvious.
- 1:33:24I misspelled Zoroastrianism, put 2RS and put a picture of Zorro
- 1:33:28to make sure that people were clear that I wasn't misspelling
- 1:33:32it because I didn't know how to spell it.
- 1:33:36And yet, and and this is where the mental illness could be or
- 1:33:40it could be autism, whatever it is where this person cannot see
- 1:33:45that that's what I did. And he's taking it seriously on
- 1:33:49that. He started with community.
- 1:33:51Post this started. With Community Post, because
- 1:33:55Ryan has it out for me and because he knows, as I've told
- 1:34:00him, that it's actually a misdemeanor to file a false
- 1:34:04State Bar complaint, that State Bar complaints are usually made
- 1:34:08by clients who have an attorney and that attorney does something
- 1:34:12unprofessional. It's not what they determine.
- 1:34:16Well, I've never seen, as Ryan said tonight, I've never seen an
- 1:34:20attorney act silly on YouTube or something.
- 1:34:23It's like, OK, but it's not against my professional code of
- 1:34:30ethics to be. Silly on.
- 1:34:33YouTube and it's silly to believe otherwise.
- 1:34:36And so that's why I mock it and because he has because he knows
- 1:34:41that it's there's potential criminal liability for him that
- 1:34:46I warned him and I didn't have to, but I didn't want him to get
- 1:34:48into trouble. And I told him and it's the
- 1:34:51truth that if this requires that I win any claim, any complaint
- 1:34:56that you make is silly. I have a good reputation in the
- 1:34:59community. I have no prior misconducts,
- 1:35:01nothing like that. I've been doing this for, I've
- 1:35:04been a lawyer for 30 years this December that I'm not worried
- 1:35:08about it. But if I have to go through the
- 1:35:11motions because there's some whack job at the State Bar who
- 1:35:15somehow is eating up everything, every lie that Ryan gives them,
- 1:35:22then it's going to take time and effort.
- 1:35:24And I don't want to have to do time and effort over something.
- 1:35:28It's a waste of time that I'll take away from my family and
- 1:35:31whatever else. And at the risk that I do get
- 1:35:33railroaded by the secular system, right?
- 1:35:35Because somebody who knows. There's.
- 1:35:39Always a chance that something can happen that doesn't go your
- 1:35:43way that somebody says yeah, you know what we need to take away
- 1:35:45his license. I don't know.
- 1:35:48I don't I can't imagine that would be the case.
- 1:35:50But I'm just saying the fact that it would that somebody's
- 1:35:53going to go that far because I originally started as the man
- 1:35:58will tell you what I talked tonight.
- 1:36:00It originally started where I called him a rhymes with Hunt
- 1:36:04the. Truth is.
- 1:36:05He is one of those. So I, I, it wasn't slander, it
- 1:36:09was the truth. And that set off a whole range
- 1:36:15of things that therefore he was going to file a criminal
- 1:36:18complaint against me for hate crimes because he has a
- 1:36:22disability. It's insanity, Brett is.
- 1:36:27What I'm saying? Goodness.
- 1:36:31Gracious goodness, gracious is. Right.
- 1:36:35Hate crime because I called a guy who happens to have cerebral
- 1:36:39palsy. I don't know whether or not he
- 1:36:41does. I've never seen his medical
- 1:36:43reports. Apparently he does.
- 1:36:45I wasn't attacking him because he has cerebral palsy.
- 1:36:48I was attacking him because he's an asshole.
- 1:36:52That's fair enough. Well, you know me, no matter
- 1:36:56what condition someone's in, if I feel like you're being an
- 1:36:59asshole, I'll let them know. So I get you.
- 1:37:02So yeah, I, I, I'm. Much prefer mocking the assholes
- 1:37:08and so that's that's mostly what I do.
- 1:37:11I just don't have enough as much time to do that anymore.
- 1:37:14And I don't think that it's really worthwhile.
- 1:37:16And, and my endeavour here, particularly with my music and
- 1:37:19particularly with the Bible studies that I did is to, is to
- 1:37:22win more people for the gospel and to edify the body of Christ
- 1:37:26and to help sharpen iron. You know, I, I don't know
- 1:37:29everything, not even close as it relates to God.
- 1:37:33And I want to hear other perspectives and I want to be
- 1:37:36influenced and corrected that should.
- 1:37:39Be our attitude, that's. A That's the Jewish tradition,
- 1:37:42actually, that we should maintain as Christians is.
- 1:37:48Other philosophies. And other thoughts, they're
- 1:37:51shared. They're, they're debated.
- 1:37:56Like debate is just key in the, in the Jewish community, but
- 1:38:00particularly in the religious Jewish community among the, the
- 1:38:02rabbis and the, the Sanhedrin's and all the, the rabbinic boards
- 1:38:06that exist even today. It's all sharing.
- 1:38:09And when it's that's kind of fun to read the Talmud, you know,
- 1:38:14for instance, something about the Babylonian Talmud.
- 1:38:16There's some cool stuff there. And it's actually great for
- 1:38:19Christians in evangelism because you we can actually read rabbis
- 1:38:24debating concepts and ideas. And people like Rabbi Tovia
- 1:38:28Singer is a counter missionary. He's trying to, to harm
- 1:38:33Christians and particularly Christians who are evangelizing
- 1:38:35to Jews. He'll say things like, you know,
- 1:38:39none of the old rabbis believed that Isaiah 53 was talking about
- 1:38:45a person, a suffering. Servant AN.
- 1:38:48Individual. And it's like, Oh yeah, I can go
- 1:38:50to Babylonian Talmud and show you circa 300.
- 1:38:55Well. Before 300.
- 1:38:56AD where we can read that the rabbis are debating who the
- 1:39:01suffering servant of Isaiah 53 is.
- 1:39:04And it's an individual, it's a mashiach, it's the Messiah.
- 1:39:08So he's lying, you know, and so it's the debate is great and and
- 1:39:14that's the the great thing about YouTube for Christians on a
- 1:39:18serious note is to take to listen to both sides, not to say
- 1:39:22such and such, you know, Lordship salvation.
- 1:39:24They're unsaved 7th day Adventists.
- 1:39:27They're unsaved free grace, unsaved hyper for not judging
- 1:39:32people's salvation, but sharing ideas, learning and then
- 1:39:37sharpening iron. And if you're in a you're with a
- 1:39:40person who you feel is so far off in their theology, dust your
- 1:39:45feet if they're a person of peace like right now.
- 1:39:47I think, Brett, that we disagree on a lot of theological
- 1:39:50concepts, at least from what I. Remember.
- 1:39:54But you're a person of peace right now and and I'd like you
- 1:39:57to think that I'm one for with you as well.
- 1:40:00So we now we can share those ideas.
- 1:40:02I can tell you why. I think I'm right on something.
- 1:40:05You could tell me why you think you're right on something.
- 1:40:08It's only when it gets personal or I start attacking your
- 1:40:14salvation where we start. Taking the role.
- 1:40:22Of Satan as the accuser, rather than of Christ the Edifier, the
- 1:40:29Savior. And and Christ.
- 1:40:32Will win the day every time there.
- 1:40:35And that's that's what we should be focused on, particularly in
- 1:40:38this community. Well, I've always encouraged.
- 1:40:40People that if they think I'm incorrect about something or
- 1:40:44they think I'm misinterpreting to feel free to come in and
- 1:40:48correct me or refute me or debunk it, whatever 'cause I do
- 1:40:52not want to be walking around blindly or I'm thinking that I
- 1:40:58understand something if I actually don't.
- 1:41:00I want to be corrected so I can be the strongest servant of God
- 1:41:04I can possibly be. So I I've got no issue with it.
- 1:41:08And I really don't understand why people do get personal and
- 1:41:11get ridiculous like that. What's it going to hurt for
- 1:41:14somebody to say what they disagree with or what their view
- 1:41:17is? I'm open minded.
- 1:41:20And I'm glad to hear that. Yeah, and I like to think that I
- 1:41:23am, too. It's just a shame that it has to
- 1:41:27be The Jets versus the Sharks. It's hard for people to do that
- 1:41:30in the Christian community. And they try, you know what I
- 1:41:32mean, by Jets versus Sharks? I think you're old enough.
- 1:41:34West Side Story is we're turned into gangs.
- 1:41:37You're on this side and we're on this side.
- 1:41:39And and the truth is that there are people on both sides that
- 1:41:42actually believe the same things.
- 1:41:44They just don't believe in the manner of of of being an accuser
- 1:41:53or pointing fingers or judging people's salvation.
- 1:41:56It's not where I'd want the only thing like I was overjoyed Brett
- 1:42:01as all of the angels in heaven were a scripture promises.
- 1:42:05When you you started revealing you believed in Jesus as saviors
- 1:42:11dying and rising again on the third day for the forgiveness of
- 1:42:15sins and there's no better place to at least start.
- 1:42:20I don't care if you're a Lordship Salvationist, if you're
- 1:42:22an SDAI, don't care if you're a Protestant, a Catholic with that
- 1:42:27knowledge as you start and it's up to the Holy Spirit to.
- 1:42:33Guide you. Where He wants to at that point
- 1:42:37when you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe
- 1:42:39in your heart that He was raised from the dead on the third day
- 1:42:42for the forgiveness of sins. He dwells in you and guides you.
- 1:42:46And it's that fine line between flesh and spirit.
- 1:42:51And God wants us to be in that spirit.
- 1:42:55And the measure of that is the fruits.
- 1:42:58The measure He's given us the whole laundry list.
- 1:43:01Look at love, kindness, peace, gentleness, long-suffering.
- 1:43:07Those things, there's no. Condemnation against versus the
- 1:43:10sentient. Hatred, discord, unkindness.
- 1:43:14Hatred, all of those things. If I didn't say that already.
- 1:43:17So we've got the guidepost and your demeanor's good, Brett.
- 1:43:21It just be be careful of the leaven, you know that that you
- 1:43:25might be exposing yourself to. And I'd also say to you like if,
- 1:43:30because this is the thing that probably hurts me more than
- 1:43:32anything else. And what irked me the most about
- 1:43:35a mighty wind that I was trying to expose a mighty wind was a
- 1:43:39very works based salvation group.
- 1:43:42So much so that their leader said that God was keeping a
- 1:43:47report card on every single one of them, keeps one on every one
- 1:43:51of us. And if we don't pass the report
- 1:43:53card well enough, God will not let us in.
- 1:44:00And that is Islam, that's not Christianity.
- 1:44:04And we have to be careful with that.
- 1:44:06My my. Goal on.
- 1:44:09Here, substantially in the time that I've been here, has been to
- 1:44:12edify people who proclaim Christ, who are worried about
- 1:44:18their salvation based on their works.
- 1:44:22To convince them. That God's salvation by grace
- 1:44:26that he's given to us through his Son and through through the
- 1:44:31blood of Christ. That's the door that we enter.
- 1:44:35And as John 10 says, it's like he, he, he's never going to let
- 1:44:39you go. And there's nothing that can
- 1:44:41separate you. No person can do it.
- 1:44:44And if no person can do it, then why?
- 1:44:46How do I have the power to do that?
- 1:44:49A person who a Christian brother or sister who feels that they're
- 1:44:53struggling and that God hates them and they're.
- 1:44:57Worried about? It I want to.
- 1:44:59Impress upon that. Brother and sister and say to
- 1:45:01them, the fact that you're worrying about it is the only
- 1:45:07evidence that I need as a Christian brother to tell you
- 1:45:11that you're secure. You should be secure because a.
- 1:45:14Person who? Doesn't worry about pleasing.
- 1:45:17God is a person, I'd say, that has something to worry about.
- 1:45:26So I I definitely. Get confused Rob when I listen
- 1:45:30to the different groups going back and forth, especially the
- 1:45:33and I've told praise this and I've also said this to Smokey
- 1:45:37the whole free grace and everybody going back and forth 1
- 1:45:41I don't understand why everybody's angry at each other
- 1:45:44why they can't just discuss it through without getting all
- 1:45:47rough but the second thing is I I.
- 1:45:51Think that I might. Fall into the category because
- 1:45:55of some of the passages I've read, not because of some of the
- 1:45:58influences of other people talking.
- 1:46:00But I felt this way even as I was transitioning over because I
- 1:46:05had, you understand that when I was a non believer, I felt it
- 1:46:09was important that if you were going to argue with people, then
- 1:46:13you needed to argue based upon the foundation.
- 1:46:15Why do they think this way? Why did they believe this way?
- 1:46:18So I felt it was very important that if the Bible is in fact the
- 1:46:22word of God or believed to be, I should study it, I should read
- 1:46:26it. And one of the things that came
- 1:46:28across was that I'm not saying anything about a report card.
- 1:46:32And I definitely am not going with Mighty Wind here, but it
- 1:46:36does seem as though the works and the sins that people commit
- 1:46:40are held to them on Judgement Day.
- 1:46:42And I can give passages and sources if you'd like.
- 1:46:47I know I. Know where they would be
- 1:46:49probably you know, I've I've heard the arguments before, but
- 1:46:52what what happens is the way I see it is there's an old.
- 1:46:58Covenant that. Served a purpose.
- 1:47:01The new covenant that. Serves the higher purpose.
- 1:47:05The new covenant, The old. Covenant designed for a a small
- 1:47:09nomadic tribe, but for all people to to allow all people,
- 1:47:14Gentile and Jew, to be able to measure our worthiness to be in
- 1:47:21relationship with the Almighty Creator on our own.
- 1:47:27But one of my favorite. Chapters in this conversation is
- 1:47:34the book of Hebrews, like a person who depends on works for
- 1:47:39their salvation has. To ignore.
- 1:47:43The book of Hebrews, I mean the book of Hebrews I I think about
- 1:47:47Hebrews 8, which is something I was studying fairly recently.
- 1:47:49I did a video on my YouTube channel on this very issue is.
- 1:47:57If we read Hebrews. 87 first, if there had been, and this is NIV,
- 1:48:06so forgive me if you're not an NIV guy, but it's plain English.
- 1:48:09It makes more sense to me for if there had been nothing, I'm not.
- 1:48:13I'm not a strict. Person where I say it's got to
- 1:48:16be a certain book so don't worry about it good OK, but but the.
- 1:48:19The sum and substance of Hebrews 8.
- 1:48:20In particular, it refers to the Old Covenant, the laws, as a
- 1:48:27covenant of fault that there was.
- 1:48:30Something not. Right with it in.
- 1:48:33Fact the author of. Hebrews says, For if there had
- 1:48:36been nothing wrong with that first covenant, the old
- 1:48:39covenant, no place would have been sought for another if all
- 1:48:43we needed was salvation by works.
- 1:48:49Then there would be. No need for the new covenant,
- 1:48:54but it continues it says, but God found fault with the people
- 1:48:58and said and then he quotes Jeremiah 31 days are.
- 1:49:03Coming when I will make. A new covenant, and it's a new
- 1:49:07covenant that will not. Be.
- 1:49:10Based on the do's and don'ts of the law.
- 1:49:13But I God says he will write the laws on our hearts which I I
- 1:49:18alluded to earlier, the conversation of with prophet
- 1:49:21prophet Joel, where at some time the Holy Spirit will fall on all
- 1:49:25people, which I think is all already happened where we know
- 1:49:29atheist, believer, Catholic, Christian, Protestant, Muslim,
- 1:49:33everyone in the world knows right from wrong instinctively.
- 1:49:40That's the gift of. God in the era of the faultless
- 1:49:45covenant, the new covenant, where God writes the law on our
- 1:49:48hearts, not as a checklist of do's and don'ts, but for us to
- 1:49:52have a recognition of our need for a Savior or an intermediary
- 1:49:59who is. Perfect who?
- 1:50:00Does meet the law so that we have a means to enter into right
- 1:50:06relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in eternity,
- 1:50:11not by works that we do, but by the work and the faith that
- 1:50:16Jesus did and hath and it doesn't get any clearer than
- 1:50:21that. I mean Paul even says our faith
- 1:50:23is not by works lest we should boast it's but that being said,
- 1:50:29God and and how I reconcile this is God wants us to obey him.
- 1:50:34The law isn't there as arbitrary, for instance, you
- 1:50:40know. Eating bottom.
- 1:50:41Feeder food, you know, fish that eat crap on the bottom is not
- 1:50:45going to be the best thing for us.
- 1:50:48And there's probably a reason, like in my case, that I get
- 1:50:51occasional gout attacks from eating too much shrimp or
- 1:50:55lobster or whatever it is. Those things, God.
- 1:50:58The God's Law. Is leads us to good and better
- 1:51:01things that God intends for us. But in the end, as Paul reveals
- 1:51:08to us in the New Testament, the law isn't there as the checklist
- 1:51:13of do's and don'ts. And obviously I'm paraphrasing.
- 1:51:15It's there turned back to us as a mirror so that we can see
- 1:51:21everything that we do wrong. And there's going to be
- 1:51:25something when there's the laundry list of the people who
- 1:51:29won't inherit the Kingdom of God.
- 1:51:31If you don't find yourself in that even today, then you're a
- 1:51:36liar. And we see.
- 1:51:41You agree? Though that and remember we can
- 1:51:45disagree. And now still yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:51:47yeah, sure. I.
- 1:51:48Understand that you're. Very used to people just being
- 1:51:51this outright hateful and all that and the book of
- 1:51:54Revelations, it says that it has an entire list of people who are
- 1:51:58not going to get in that they'll be thrown like fire liars,
- 1:52:02idolaters and cheaters and and it goes on for a good long time.
- 1:52:07I think that it even mentioned certain sexual perversions.
- 1:52:11Don't want to get my channel in trouble.
- 1:52:13So you get, you get where I'm. Going with that.
- 1:52:16But. If that's the case.
- 1:52:18And someone comes along and they claim to be a Christian, yet
- 1:52:22they lie, lie, lie like you have actually pointed out some
- 1:52:25people. You feel it's done and
- 1:52:27perceived, then how could you? You say, well they can be that,
- 1:52:33but they can also thou shalt not lie, bear false witness, but
- 1:52:37they break that over and over. You see what I'm getting out of
- 1:52:40here? I totally do, and I.
- 1:52:42Understand that, but again, that is how.
- 1:52:46Without. Jesus, I'm not a universalist.
- 1:52:50So there's a choice that we're given.
- 1:52:53Remember Universe? But I'm not a universalist.
- 1:52:56Yeah, yeah, I'm with you. But remember.
- 1:52:57Like in Revelation, I don't remember where it is, but
- 1:52:59there's this picture of the Saints and they're dressed all
- 1:53:02in white, right? They're they're being dressed in
- 1:53:07white, in other words, as a symbol of perfection, purity,
- 1:53:10righteousness is not because of anything they did, but because
- 1:53:14of what Jesus did and because they aligned with him.
- 1:53:18And when the Father sees the people in white, he sees the
- 1:53:24face of his son. He doesn't see them and what
- 1:53:26they've done so. I would I.
- 1:53:29Reconcile that with all. Those who are in.
- 1:53:33Christ through belief and saved, therefore God looks upon them.
- 1:53:42As white as. Snow not because of what they
- 1:53:45do, but because of what he Jesus did.
- 1:53:49And so while each and every one of them is a thief and a liar
- 1:53:53and a adulterer at heart, or however maybe physically and all
- 1:53:58those things, that God that doesn't see that anymore.
- 1:54:05That being said, it's. It's good for us to I believe
- 1:54:09and and it's a dirty word in free grace being convicted.
- 1:54:12I don't know why, but God convicts us of things that we do
- 1:54:16bad. But it's Satan, I believe, who
- 1:54:23convicts us deep more deeply of the things we do bad to make us
- 1:54:28believe when we are in Christ that God will turn His back on
- 1:54:33us or leave us. Remember when?
- 1:54:37I think it's in Mark and it's maybe in Matthew.
- 1:54:40I can't remember but when. When the person says to.
- 1:54:44Jesus, Lord, Lord, you know when he says I never knew you?
- 1:54:50What are those? What are those?
- 1:54:52People saying well but wait a minute, God you should have
- 1:54:55known me because look at all the works I did.
- 1:54:59They don't say look at my. Faith.
- 1:55:03They don't. Say but Lord.
- 1:55:04I Lord, Lord, I I believed in you, I believed in your promise
- 1:55:08and I believe that you saved me. They said no Jesus, let me let
- 1:55:11me show you the checklist of things of why I think you do
- 1:55:15need to know me and why I deserve to be with you.
- 1:55:20I don't think when when you read these.
- 1:55:22Passages and I I understand that, but has it ever come
- 1:55:26across your mind just said all that Jesus being who he was, he
- 1:55:32could see into their heart. Even though they claimed they
- 1:55:36did all these things. He knows that they truly
- 1:55:38believed in him. A lot of these people who were
- 1:55:41making all these claims in the Bible, they were liars
- 1:55:44themselves. They were people who were trying
- 1:55:47to test him and challenge him constantly.
- 1:55:50I I'm not a what I'm not saying I'm not saying that it's all
- 1:55:54works or nothing kind of thing. I believe that Jesus doesn't
- 1:55:58want any of us to perish and he'll go all the way to bat for
- 1:56:01us and dead. The the issue is, I don't think
- 1:56:04that someone you were talking about conviction earlier.
- 1:56:07And for me, that's how I know when I'm dealing with an actual
- 1:56:10brother and sister in Christ, when they know they'll do wrong
- 1:56:14or they unwillfully do something wrong, they feel conviction of
- 1:56:17it. That's how I know I'm dealing
- 1:56:19with a good person. But we don't.
- 1:56:22We don't always get. See, that's the thing.
- 1:56:24We we don't always get convicted.
- 1:56:25You know, I didn't get convicted enough tonight to not go and
- 1:56:28troll in that chat. And I don't think that's what
- 1:56:31Jesus intended for me to go there and to try and embarrass
- 1:56:35someone. And I think that I did.
- 1:56:38But you've tried other. Things in the past, you're just,
- 1:56:41you're just irritated at this point.
- 1:56:43Yeah, yeah. But I'm just saying.
- 1:56:44I'm saying that I don't think I lost salvation because I did
- 1:56:48that. It is possible, I believe, to
- 1:56:50disappoint God in the same way that it we can disappoint our
- 1:56:55earthly fathers, our earthly mothers, or you know, like our
- 1:56:58own children disappoint us at some period of time.
- 1:57:02But we our love for our children doesn't change.
- 1:57:08And when we profess belief and we really believe in our heart,
- 1:57:14we become children of God. These are all promises of
- 1:57:17Scripture and we have blessed assurance in that.
- 1:57:20I do think that there are people that have a false sense who
- 1:57:25think that they're saved. Where what I usually.
- 1:57:29See is is a people and I see it today in this community as well
- 1:57:33as people who profess Christ, but rather than.
- 1:57:38Have the Holy Spirit. Work in them to promote Lovejoy,
- 1:57:43kindness, patience, gentleness. They use their identity as a
- 1:57:49Christian as a means of condemnation for others.
- 1:57:55Especially. Christians, people of the faith,
- 1:57:58and I'm reminded of Romans 81. Therefore, there's no
- 1:58:02condemnation for all those who are fully known in Christ and to
- 1:58:06be fully known in Christ. Again, I'm paraphrasing, is not.
- 1:58:12You're not fully known. Because of your good works.
- 1:58:16Good works should. Naturally come out of your faith
- 1:58:20for sure, but it is possible I believe for a believer to have a
- 1:58:26dead faith and yet still be saved.
- 1:58:30It's just their life is going to be a struggle.
- 1:58:34And most importantly, I don't think God will use those people
- 1:58:39in any way shape or form to influence.
- 1:58:43He'll just let them do their own thing I like.
- 1:58:46To think, for instance. That the people too, in
- 1:58:48particular that I've mentioned directly tonight and then
- 1:58:53sometimes indirectly that they are brothers in Christ.
- 1:58:59But I and I would like, I would persuade them to obey, but they
- 1:59:06don't. There's not a promotion among
- 1:59:10those two people of Lovejoy, patience, kindness, and all of
- 1:59:15those things. There's a promotion of hatred
- 1:59:16and discord and dissension and factions and all of those
- 1:59:20things. And it, it makes me wonder, the
- 1:59:27best thing that I can do for that is not to condemn them and
- 1:59:29say that they're not Christian. It would be simply to say, like
- 1:59:33you said, we said before, dusting feet to dust feet.
- 1:59:37They're not a person of peace for me.
- 1:59:39Hope for the best and hope that I do see them in heaven, but I
- 1:59:42don't know how that works. Isn't that interesting?
- 1:59:44People that we don't get along with here, how do we get along
- 1:59:47with them in the next World? It's a good point.
- 1:59:51You mind if I share with a couple verses?
- 1:59:53I'd like to hear what your view is on it and it's remember I'm
- 1:59:57not doing a gotcha or trying to find.
- 2:00:00Oh sure and I may not. Have an answer but I'll try.
- 2:00:03I just want to hear your. Views on it.
- 2:00:05All right, I'll do three of them.
- 2:00:08Revelation 2012, thirteen. If you want to write it down,
- 2:00:12you can. And it says, then I saw the
- 2:00:15dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and the books
- 2:00:18were open, and the dead were judged by what was written in
- 2:00:22the books according to what they had done. 2nd Corinthians 510
- 2:00:26says, For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
- 2:00:29Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what He
- 2:00:34has done in the body, whether good or evil.
- 2:00:38And then there's one more, and this is actually in Romans,
- 2:00:41Romans 268. He will render to each one
- 2:00:44according to his works, to those who by patience and well doing
- 2:00:49seek for glory and honor any mortality, He will give eternal
- 2:00:53life. But for those who are self
- 2:00:55seeking and do not obey the truth, there will be wrath and
- 2:00:59fury. What's your thoughts?
- 2:01:02Let's, let's we. We would need to go to each one.
- 2:01:05So I want to I didn't get I didn't get the second one, but
- 2:01:09I'll I'll get that in a second from you.
- 2:01:11I got the first. So it's Revelation 20.
- 2:01:14And what was the verses again? You got Revelation. 20/12/13 All
- 2:01:19right, then you got Second Corinthians 5-10, and then
- 2:01:24you've got Romans 6-8. If you need me to repeat it,
- 2:01:28it's fine. No, no, no.
- 2:01:30We can go I. Mean I I could probably give you
- 2:01:32a better answer if I studied and I usually I find that God gives
- 2:01:37us an answer somewhere around the the part where there's a
- 2:01:41dispute. Well, here let me let me do
- 2:01:43something. For you, that'll make it easier
- 2:01:45for you when you do look into it.
- 2:01:47Yeah, I'm looking at actually I. Actually did a.
- 2:01:49Community post about this and so far nobody came at me on it.
- 2:01:56It wasn't meant to like oh come get me baby kind of thing but
- 2:02:01it's me sharing my view and I thought if anybody thought I was
- 2:02:05incorrect feel free to refute it.
- 2:02:07I didn't see it, but let's let's.
- 2:02:08Start this because I I was in the community.
- 2:02:12Private chat. Yeah, Yeah.
- 2:02:14I'll look at that. Later, but I do want to let's
- 2:02:15address the the scriptures. OK, so there's in in the verses
- 2:02:21that you cite in Revelation. We'll start there.
- 2:02:23We've got a book of life. The book is open, dead or judged
- 2:02:28according to what they have done as recorded in the books.
- 2:02:33When we go to the very next. Part of the vision, I would say
- 2:02:38that this is a vision of what judgement is like and this is
- 2:02:43just thus saith robbery. Without.
- 2:02:47A new covenant under the old immediately the vision I think
- 2:02:53sorry for my dog if you can hear my dog because I think people
- 2:02:56are I can hear him a little bit but.
- 2:02:57He ain't cutting me off. I think people are popping.
- 2:03:00Fireworks and she's crazy I'm assuming.
- 2:03:02Otherwise I got to check. Do you need to let him in or?
- 2:03:04Something No, no, no, no. She's in.
- 2:03:06She's in. She's just barking from the
- 2:03:08fireworks. I'm guessing so the very next
- 2:03:11part after those verses, you know, and remember this, this
- 2:03:13wasn't chaptered and versed and written and typewritten.
- 2:03:17You know, it was a, it was sort of like a letter form.
- 2:03:20There weren't numbers and you know all those things.
- 2:03:23So what comes next after that isn't a new thing.
- 2:03:27The the author, John the Revelator, he tells us right
- 2:03:30away after that vision of people being judged according to what
- 2:03:34they've done. Then, says the writer, I saw a
- 2:03:37new heaven and a new earth, for the 1st heaven and the first
- 2:03:41earth had passed away. And there was no longer.
- 2:03:46Any sea sea like. What was there A.
- 2:03:49Reference to a sea there too in 20.
- 2:03:55I I thought that there was. Hold on.
- 2:03:58Yeah, there seems to be a. Transition over to a new earth
- 2:04:01and a right and so. What?
- 2:04:04What John the. Revelator, I would submit in
- 2:04:07this and I do want to go over each one.
- 2:04:10He's envisioning the judgement without the Lamb.
- 2:04:16Anyone whose name was not. Found written in the book of
- 2:04:18Life, was thrown into the lake of fire.
- 2:04:20Do think that is a reality for people who are not in Christ,
- 2:04:24who don't believe, who are not a part of children of God through
- 2:04:28the Lamb. But the hope that John the
- 2:04:32revelator revelator get gives us as Christian believers after
- 2:04:37that is the new the. Old is gone in other.
- 2:04:41Words. This part of Revelation is
- 2:04:44reflecting the covenant of fault that we just addressed in
- 2:04:50Hebrews 8, and it's the faultless covenant, the new
- 2:04:53covenant that then is like the the the clouds disperse of
- 2:04:58judgment. There's no condemnation for all
- 2:05:01those who are in Christ. Romans 8 one that now there's a
- 2:05:06vision of the new that there'll. Be no more.
- 2:05:09Death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of
- 2:05:13things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne,
- 2:05:17God said, I am making everything new.
- 2:05:20Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.
- 2:05:24He said Jesus, I am. It is done.
- 2:05:28The very next chapter. It gives us the hope that we do
- 2:05:33not have if all we have is Revelation 20.
- 2:05:37That's my answer to that. The next one was Second
- 2:05:39Corinthians. What?
- 2:05:43All right, let me get. It for you 2nd Corinthians
- 2:05:46chapter 5 verse 10 For we must all appear before the judgment
- 2:05:51seat of Christ so that each may receive what is due for what he
- 2:05:57has done in the body, whether good or evil.
- 2:06:00And I also want to tell you in case I didn't say this, I agree.
- 2:06:04I believe that God wired morality into us.
- 2:06:09Even even non believers will say things like well we don't have
- 2:06:13morality because we don't believe in God.
- 2:06:15I believe that God put morality in all of us.
- 2:06:17It's our choice if we want to feed into it though.
- 2:06:23But did you get the verse? Yeah, yeah, I'm, I'm.
- 2:06:25Reading because usually, like I said, the the I think God gives
- 2:06:29us an answer surrounding it. I'll be right back while you're.
- 2:06:38Checking that out, I got to use the rest area.
- 2:06:40Sure, yeah, no problem. I don't.
- 2:06:42Have too much longer but but it's been fun I.
- 2:06:45Enjoy hanging out with you. Rob, I'm sorry that you deal
- 2:06:48with the aggravation. Maybe you should start
- 2:06:50fellowshipping with me. I'm a good encourage we could we
- 2:06:53could talk more for. Sure, go ahead, Go to the
- 2:06:57bathroom. I'm going to eat some.
- 2:07:01Hope you don't put this on. All right, I am.
- 2:08:31Back let. Me.
- 2:08:34See, here's what I'd. Say about that.
- 2:08:36About Second Corinthians 510 can't just can't just cherry
- 2:08:41pick single little verses and go out.
- 2:08:44I mean, remember. 1. Of the things I enjoy about
- 2:08:48Paul's letters, I don't know if enjoy is the right word, but.
- 2:08:53There's no point in his. Letters where he's writing, for
- 2:08:55instance, now he's writing to the Corinthians or he writes to
- 2:08:58the Galatians or he writes, he, he writes letters of
- 2:09:01condemnation, I mean, or, or correction.
- 2:09:03He's trying to correct them. He's rebuking them.
- 2:09:06He's doing it all the ways according to the fruit of the
- 2:09:09Spirit, which I love. But we don't see him at any
- 2:09:12point in time here with the. Corinthians, for instance.
- 2:09:16He's trying to correct them and they're not listening to him.
- 2:09:19That's why he writes another letter.
- 2:09:20They didn't listen to him the first time.
- 2:09:23In other words, like in First Corinthians 5, which we
- 2:09:25mentioned before, they said get this guy out of your church, you
- 2:09:28know, don't accept this kind of sin within your community.
- 2:09:32But he never said that that guy's not saved.
- 2:09:35He never said in his rebukes here that you guys have lost
- 2:09:38your salvation. You want to keep your salvation.
- 2:09:41What he's reminding them, and we can see this in context because
- 2:09:45I'm reading the chapters before we got Second Corinthians 5 for
- 2:09:49sure, but Second Corinthians 3 we'll see him say and remember
- 2:09:53these aren't delineated by this is all the same letter earlier
- 2:09:57in the letter, not very far before he says that we have this
- 2:10:00confidence through Christ before God.
- 2:10:03Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for
- 2:10:07ourselves, but our competence comes from God.
- 2:10:10He has made us confident, competent as ministers of a new
- 2:10:15covenant, not of the letter that is not of the law, but of the
- 2:10:18Spirit, For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
- 2:10:22But what he wants to warn them is don't take that for granted.
- 2:10:27He's wanting to remind. Them to live and lead lives that
- 2:10:31are worthy of the calling that we have been given by Christ.
- 2:10:35But he's not telling them that they're not saved.
- 2:10:39He's he. Is saying.
- 2:10:41How embarrassed basically is the way that I reason this how
- 2:10:44embarrassed are you going to be when you're at the Bema seat of
- 2:10:48Christ and in your all of that your life sins are going to be
- 2:10:52presented and you're going to look no different than the guy
- 2:10:57who doesn't know Jesus and that you continued in the filth so
- 2:11:04without. Any.
- 2:11:05Conviction, you know, as we talked about without any guilt,
- 2:11:07without any why, you know, why would you want to do that?
- 2:11:12And yet I understand where you're coming from.
- 2:11:14But Paul never says and and I, you can correct me, but I he
- 2:11:17doesn't say here, unless you get yourself better, unless you iron
- 2:11:24out every wrinkle and clean out every spot and blemish, God's
- 2:11:29going to say, look, you know, I never knew you.
- 2:11:31He doesn't say that, he says. Why?
- 2:11:36Why wouldn't? You want to be better.
- 2:11:40But all the. While he's saying, and I see
- 2:11:42this, this is Second Corinthians 5, two, since then we know this
- 2:11:47is just right after the line, right after 10.
- 2:11:50Since then we know what it is to fear the Lord.
- 2:11:53We try to persuade others. In essence, what kind of witness
- 2:11:57are you for me to bring to so that I can use you to be to
- 2:12:03bring more people to me? You're a horrible witness if you
- 2:12:07look no different than they do what we.
- 2:12:11Are. Continues Paul is plain to God,
- 2:12:13and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.
- 2:12:16We're not trying to commend ourselves to you.
- 2:12:18We're not saying we're better, but are giving you an
- 2:12:20opportunity to take pride in us so that you can answer those who
- 2:12:23take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the
- 2:12:28heart. All of this.
- 2:12:30Stuff. Is not a condemnation of you
- 2:12:33better behave yourself or you're going to lose your salvation.
- 2:12:37It's you better behave yourself because Christ is worthy.
- 2:12:42Well, I I agree with. A lot of the points and I feel
- 2:12:46like you're on to something, but there's these the passages with
- 2:12:50Jesus Christ were as you pointed out where they say look what
- 2:12:53I've done, look at this and all that and then he's able to see
- 2:12:56into their hearts. Let's take for example, if you
- 2:12:59and I, we we were trying to find a good church together or
- 2:13:03something, you and I were hanging out and go have lunch or
- 2:13:07whatever, and then we walked in the churches.
- 2:13:09Now, anybody can tell us they believe, but the only way we're
- 2:13:14truly going to be able to discern if they are who they say
- 2:13:18they are is by what their actions and how they do things.
- 2:13:22We have to look at their peer into the fruit of what's
- 2:13:25happening in front of us. And if it's not showing, then
- 2:13:28what does Jesus say? They're weeds.
- 2:13:30They're going to be burned well. Without him for sure, but.
- 2:13:37He who began a good. Work in US, he promised to
- 2:13:39finish it and I would say if if people aren't getting finished,
- 2:13:44it could be that they never knew him at all.
- 2:13:47That's what I would say. And that's how I reconcile,
- 2:13:49because I am once saved, always saved, that that it is possible
- 2:13:53that someone has professed something for.
- 2:13:59A. Reason that is outside of their
- 2:14:01recognition of the real need for a savior, because they're
- 2:14:05they're wretches. I think that there are many
- 2:14:08people out there who don't think they're wretches that that Jesus
- 2:14:11though, gives them something that they aspire for.
- 2:14:18Many people who maybe suffer from a chronic case of
- 2:14:23narcissism who think they really don't need God, but they'll
- 2:14:27they'll hedge their bets and and bring him in as like a their
- 2:14:31little guarantee at but use that to still believe that on their
- 2:14:36own merit and their own works, they're they're great.
- 2:14:40The the end of. 2nd Corinthians 5 says you do agree though, Rob.
- 2:14:48That if you and I were trying to find good, good talking and
- 2:14:54walking Christians, we'd have to base it upon what we see their
- 2:14:58actions doing. They if they truly believe in
- 2:15:01God and they're saved, then their actions would show.
- 2:15:04I think. Yes, yes.
- 2:15:07But, but again, we've alluded to this before.
- 2:15:09So if we're consistent, because you, you also believe as I do,
- 2:15:13that we are not in a position to determine whether or not they're
- 2:15:17saved or not. We are in the right position to
- 2:15:19determine or not whether or not they would be helpful for our
- 2:15:22own walk, whether they'd be helpful for our families,
- 2:15:25whether I would want my kid to be exposed to a certain person.
- 2:15:28Let's just say you know, a certain person.
- 2:15:30I've already mentioned I wouldn't even have him babysit
- 2:15:32my child, let alone teach him any Bible.
- 2:15:35So I can make determinations as to what I will do with somebody
- 2:15:42or as to whether I will fellowship with someone, but far
- 2:15:45be it for me to make the determination as to whether that
- 2:15:49person is indeed saved or not. It's not for me to know that.
- 2:15:53Again, as you said, God knows the heart.
- 2:15:56Yeah. And I and I don't know the
- 2:15:58heart. So I do agree with you that it's
- 2:16:01not my determination. I'm not going to push God out of
- 2:16:04His throne to make the decision on that.
- 2:16:07But I do, I do think that we have to have some form of
- 2:16:11discernment or we're going to be LED astray.
- 2:16:14Sure, no doubt. And so we need, we do.
- 2:16:17That's why God gave us, you know, in Galatians 5, we've got
- 2:16:20the list of the people that we want to teach us, the people
- 2:16:24that we want to hang around to make us better, the brothers and
- 2:16:28sisters. And it's the reverse of
- 2:16:33oftentimes what we see on here. But Jesus gives like I think
- 2:16:38about John 10, John 10 is. So huge for.
- 2:16:43The Christian and and needs to be filtered through all these
- 2:16:47verses you're saying and I would like to look at Romans 2 next if
- 2:16:51we can from those verses you looked at.
- 2:16:53But sure Jesus, Jesus says as it relates to his life in John 10.
- 2:16:59No one takes his life from him. He lays it down by his own
- 2:17:02accord. He says, and I I love this.
- 2:17:10It goes further into John 1025. They start accusing him and and.
- 2:17:18Saying how long you're going to. Keep us in suspense.
- 2:17:20If you're the Messiah, tell us plainly.
- 2:17:23And he says, I did tell you. He's admitting that he is, but
- 2:17:26you do not believe the works. I do in.
- 2:17:30My father's name testify about me, but you do not believe he's
- 2:17:35talking about belief. These people are are hindered by
- 2:17:38the sin of unbelief. My sheep listen to my voice.
- 2:17:42I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and
- 2:17:46they shall never perish. No one will snatch them out of
- 2:17:51my hand. And when?
- 2:17:53We see. That, and we read earlier, I
- 2:17:56think it is that they that I am the door, he says.
- 2:18:00And when they come in, yeah, I am the gate.
- 2:18:04Whoever enters through me will be saved.
- 2:18:07It's not whoever enters through me will be saved.
- 2:18:10So long as there's no modification to that.
- 2:18:16It's enter through me and be saved.
- 2:18:19And Paul's instructions to the people who are already saved is
- 2:18:24live your lives worthy of the calling.
- 2:18:26I think of Colossians 3 since then.
- 2:18:30And this is good advice for you and for me and everyone on
- 2:18:32YouTube since then, you, Brett, me, Ryan, Smokey, Bill, whoever,
- 2:18:39Bruce, since then you've been raised with Christ.
- 2:18:42Set your hearts and minds on things above, not on earthly
- 2:18:47things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of the
- 2:18:50Father. For you, Brett, for me, for all
- 2:18:53who believe in Christ have died and our life is now hidden with
- 2:18:57Christ and God. That is quite a promise and it's
- 2:19:01not conditional. And I, and I think if you're
- 2:19:06wise to want to live life worthy of the calling of Christ and his
- 2:19:12sacrifice for us, which we take so for granted all the time, He
- 2:19:18is indeed worthy of our obedience.
- 2:19:21But I don't want you, Brett, or your family, or for you to be
- 2:19:24worried that if you believe and if you're worried and if you are
- 2:19:29monitoring yourself and correcting yourself constantly,
- 2:19:32that is a great posture to be in.
- 2:19:34But please don't lose your assurity, your your blessed
- 2:19:41assurance. I think of the hymn that we have
- 2:19:45in Christ as after we've gone through him, the gate.
- 2:19:51I hear you. And you, but you had said
- 2:19:54earlier something that was really interesting.
- 2:19:56You said that one of your biggest concerns when you're
- 2:20:00exposing evil is you don't want people to be influenced.
- 2:20:05So doesn't it kind of, I don't know, it just it sounds strange
- 2:20:10where it's one thing is once we're in the hands of God, we
- 2:20:15can't be pulled away. But you're you actually, on the
- 2:20:17other hand, believe that some people can be influenced into
- 2:20:20it. We all are influenced.
- 2:20:22'Cause we, we all fail at this point, you know, I, I've
- 2:20:25revealed some of my failures there.
- 2:20:28It's not the failure. My worry is not that someone's
- 2:20:31going to lose their salvation. My worry is that in this life,
- 2:20:36they're. In it's the same.
- 2:20:37Worry that Paul had that they're going to be bad witnesses, that
- 2:20:40they're going to be led to do things that are displeasing to
- 2:20:44God, that they're. Going to be.
- 2:20:48An embarrassment for the Christian community, Those.
- 2:20:52Kind of things. And that there might be young
- 2:20:55people who. Are not truly.
- 2:20:59Saved young people who like are attracted to the power they can
- 2:21:05get by proclaiming themselves as Christian, you understand, And
- 2:21:09they get influenced by the evil, whether it's using filthy
- 2:21:12language, using whatever you know, condemnation being the
- 2:21:16name of the game, all of those things that can take a person
- 2:21:20who is truly not saved but close.
- 2:21:24And put them farther. Away.
- 2:21:26I'm worried about those people and want to expose the evil for
- 2:21:30them, but for the brother and sister, the one who truly
- 2:21:32believes in their heart. I believe that they're eternally
- 2:21:34secure, but that they can be. An embarrassment to the.
- 2:21:41Community that they can be used by Satan to push people who
- 2:21:46don't truly know Jesus in their hearts farther away from from
- 2:21:51him you. Know there was a.
- 2:21:54Christian a while back, one of the last discussions I had as a
- 2:21:58former atheist that said something really phenomenal to
- 2:22:02me. It really clicked and had me
- 2:22:04thinking for a long, long time. The Christian asked me, do you
- 2:22:09believe in evil? And I go, yes, I, I do believe
- 2:22:13there's evil in the world over in abundance of it.
- 2:22:17That's one of the reasons I why I question God is what I said.
- 2:22:21And he goes, well, do you believe that evil is objective
- 2:22:24or is it just based upon your opinion?
- 2:22:27And I said, no, I, I think that evil actually actually does
- 2:22:31exist, whether people perceive it or not or or know what it is.
- 2:22:36And he goes, well, if that's the case, you've been a rational,
- 2:22:39logical guy, Mr. King. Then shouldn't there also be the
- 2:22:43opposite? There should be objective good.
- 2:22:46It was interesting because he turned evil into an argument on
- 2:22:51why there should be objective good as well.
- 2:22:54And boy, that kept me up night. Yeah.
- 2:22:57Yeah. That's that's great.
- 2:22:58There's a great book that I'd recommend, but it's hard to
- 2:23:00read. It's tough because the guy's
- 2:23:02really, really brilliant. Alvin Plantiga, The Problem of
- 2:23:05Evil. And he he lays out a
- 2:23:07philosophical defense of the problem and why it exists.
- 2:23:13And it it the sum and substance of it, or at least the thing
- 2:23:16that resonates with me, that stays with me because it's way
- 2:23:18above my pay grade in terms of, you know, brightness and
- 2:23:22intelligence. Is is the concept of Planticus
- 2:23:26concept he presents? Could God design a world?
- 2:23:34Where he gives. People, the gift of free will
- 2:23:37and the the world. There is no evil that exists in
- 2:23:41the world, and the logical, reasonable answer to that is no.
- 2:23:46It, it's impossible. It's like a square circle.
- 2:23:49It's it's impossible for God to design a world where his.
- 2:23:54Creation has. Free will to do that which is
- 2:23:57opposite of Him. God is all good, the standard.
- 2:24:01Of good is God. Himself.
- 2:24:04And when we have a choice. To do something outside of that
- 2:24:07standard, God has. Allowed that to.
- 2:24:10Happen because in any real true relationship there has.
- 2:24:15To be sort of a. Reciprocal.
- 2:24:17Not sort of, but an actual reciprocal choice of I choose
- 2:24:21you and you choose me. That's.
- 2:24:25That is a loving God and that's why I love our God, that he
- 2:24:30doesn't force himself upon us and He's created a world for us
- 2:24:36where we have the choice. Evil comes not from God.
- 2:24:42I know that some. Scripture that some people
- 2:24:44interpret the Scripture and I think I think you do as well.
- 2:24:47There's a line in the scripture that says God creates calamity
- 2:24:50or God creates evil. I I used to hold.
- 2:24:54The position of maltheism and you don't anymore 'cause I.
- 2:24:57Thought you were a maltheist. No, I, I sat down.
- 2:25:00With some Christians who were willing to actually discuss it
- 2:25:04with me and they hammered out some lots of.
- 2:25:07But there. There.
- 2:25:08There. Wasn't, you know, why it lasted
- 2:25:10so long as the moment I came out with it and asked for people to
- 2:25:14refute me, I had people. They just got mad.
- 2:25:17And they just. Saying all right, let's.
- 2:25:19Talk. Well, I I'm talking.
- 2:25:20To you right now and I believe that you are a Malpheus so I, I
- 2:25:23give you the respect for that but I I want it I'm glad that
- 2:25:26you're not there It it's you know it's the.
- 2:25:30Same way light. Goes darkness.
- 2:25:32Is it it? There is no such thing as
- 2:25:34darkness in and. Of itself.
- 2:25:37It's just nothing, right? The only thing that delineates
- 2:25:41and creates the label darkness is the existence of light.
- 2:25:45If there's no light, there cannot be darkness.
- 2:25:48It's just the de facto. It is what it is.
- 2:25:50It's just existence, which just happens to be the absence of
- 2:25:54light. Light is God is light.
- 2:25:56You know, the, the, the, the word.
- 2:25:58So when God says let there be light and there was suddenly
- 2:26:03there was darkness. So God indirectly, if you know
- 2:26:07to be fair to the mouthiest or the God indirectly by creating
- 2:26:12light, creates in quotes darkness, but it's really the
- 2:26:18only the the creation of light that delineates and provides a
- 2:26:22label so we can understand what darkness is and that the same
- 2:26:26thing is with good and evil God. Is all good.
- 2:26:30His mere presence, He does everything good and just and
- 2:26:33right, but by His creation of something out of his own love,
- 2:26:40allowing them to do something outside of His goodness.
- 2:26:44Suddenly, like light, with the presence of His perfect de facto
- 2:26:49goodness, suddenly there is a label.
- 2:26:52We now know what evil is, and God in quotes creates evil
- 2:26:59simply by His very existence and allowing His creation to have
- 2:27:04the capability to do the opposite of good.
- 2:27:10It's not God that does the. Evil it is US people.
- 2:27:14Starve because. Of people's greed people lose
- 2:27:18their lives because of you know if if they're harmed or murdered
- 2:27:24or injured by someone causing harm to them and because of the
- 2:27:29way that God designed all. Creatures and all.
- 2:27:33Things There's also these competing interests.
- 2:27:38The the things that cause. Cancer and all of those things,
- 2:27:41those horrible things. I would say they're they're just
- 2:27:47creatures. They're all part of and those
- 2:27:49creatures are malevolent, or rather they probably don't have
- 2:27:54any bacteria, doesn't have any mental capacity, but other than
- 2:27:58self preservation, a selfish desire for self preservation, or
- 2:28:02the cancer cell has a selfish desire to continue to replicate
- 2:28:06itself to the harm of the host. All of those things just simply
- 2:28:11come out of God's decision to create a world where we.
- 2:28:16Grow. Where we have experiences.
- 2:28:19And that goes to the point again of pain and evil.
- 2:28:25How? How do we know?
- 2:28:26That which is good and virtuous. If we don't know that which is
- 2:28:32not good and not virtuous, we are attracted in our.
- 2:28:38Stories and in. Our fiction We're attracted to
- 2:28:42heroes and we're attracted to the courageous.
- 2:28:46But what makes a hero and what makes someone courageous depends
- 2:28:51on there being a need to be brave and to take a chance and
- 2:28:57to risk. In other words, without evil, we
- 2:29:00don't have those great virtues. We don't know what they mean.
- 2:29:04That's a part of the. Growing.
- 2:29:05Process here and when it. Comes to.
- 2:29:08You know, calamity and hurricanes and tornadoes and
- 2:29:12earthquakes and things. Again, it's just a part of the
- 2:29:14system. The system.
- 2:29:16Earthquakes happen because things shift, and this all
- 2:29:21exists in a certain way. Because it just had.
- 2:29:26To that's the way that it was made.
- 2:29:28And we make choices, for instance, to, you know, buy our
- 2:29:32houses in fire zones and, you know, I think about Los Angeles
- 2:29:36or buy nice houses on near the oceans where we could or rivers
- 2:29:41like in Texas where we could get flooded and people die.
- 2:29:45When we make these conscious decisions to do things like
- 2:29:47that, it's. It's not something that.
- 2:29:50I can answer one, but that's how I reconcile it.
- 2:29:53And I'm glad that you because I I, I don't like when people
- 2:29:56think that God is has any part of evil himself because it, it
- 2:30:01just, that makes no sense to me. That's contrary to my
- 2:30:05understanding of his nature. Well, one of the.
- 2:30:10Reasons why I got into that a while back and I am out of it.
- 2:30:15I have many different explanations that are satisfying
- 2:30:19for me and why I was able to get out of the position, but I know
- 2:30:22why it it caused me into it. And the reason why is the
- 2:30:28understanding, the knowledge that God has creating the devil,
- 2:30:32knowing, having the foreknowledge of what the devil
- 2:30:35was capable of doing, knowing that Adam and Eve was going to
- 2:30:38do what they were doing. It wasn't so much saying that
- 2:30:42God himself is evil, but I believe that there was at some
- 2:30:46point evil needed to exist alongside the light.
- 2:30:50Just as you had said. In order for free will to be
- 2:30:53optimal, you had to have the worst, and you had to have the
- 2:30:56light in order for you to be able to have a contrast of the
- 2:31:00two. It wasn't that I was saying he
- 2:31:02was evil, just capable of destruction it.
- 2:31:06It's not. That evil has to exist along
- 2:31:11with free will. I don't think it's that.
- 2:31:13I think that it's evil is the natural byproduct of the
- 2:31:18existence of free will. That that's how I it.
- 2:31:22Makes more sense to me. Not that you know, because,
- 2:31:25again, Satan is Satan because he had a choice.
- 2:31:31Unfortunately, that. Was what I fell into because I
- 2:31:34fell into what is called the problem of evil so well.
- 2:31:39Yeah, if you. If you want some.
- 2:31:40Tough reading. It's, it's small, it's short and
- 2:31:43I, I would, I think it might be in my bookshelf over there.
- 2:31:48It's not here, but it look up Alvin Plantinga and it's a
- 2:31:52problem of evil. So it's but it it it will
- 2:31:54require you not to have anything in the background or any
- 2:31:58distractions or anything like that you know before.
- 2:32:01I even announced back then that I was going towards that
- 2:32:05position or felt as though I was lured in that direction.
- 2:32:09You know, I tried to get a hold of people behind the scenes
- 2:32:13before I made it public. I tried talking to people and
- 2:32:16seeing if this was the correct way and it just, I, I kept on
- 2:32:21running into nonsense or people just saying they didn't have
- 2:32:24time and you didn't talk to me. I I've.
- 2:32:27Got time I I love this stuff. I eat and breathe it and so if
- 2:32:32you if you ever use the pattern Rob where if someone.
- 2:32:35Talks about their views especially publicly online
- 2:32:39instead of people just having a fellowship together and talking
- 2:32:42things out like what we're doing right now people just
- 2:32:46immediately use that as a way to be able to burn somebody well
- 2:32:50you'll you'll see there's. Probably something that I've
- 2:32:52said now if you edit it or whatever that it will be used
- 2:32:55against me already, anything that I do like this.
- 2:32:58So you'll see. It'll happen.
- 2:33:00Oh, I know. I.
- 2:33:01I fart wrong and stuff, it's going to be made, yeah.
- 2:33:04So it's just a natural. Thing for me to volunteer to to
- 2:33:07do something like that. I want to talk with you because
- 2:33:09I'm glad you're back. I enjoy your your content when I
- 2:33:13do have time to watch it. And I would just want to
- 2:33:16encourage you to, you know, stay away from the 11 if you can
- 2:33:19identify it. As you said, there's certain
- 2:33:21things that you that we should be able to identify at the very
- 2:33:24least to know that doesn't feel right.
- 2:33:27That doesn't look right. It's not worth subscribers if I
- 2:33:31fellowship or hang out with a certain type of person with a
- 2:33:35certain type of unrepentant attitude.
- 2:33:38Who would call, let's say, a victim of a crime that he pled
- 2:33:42guilty to that bitch? You know it's.
- 2:33:46These are things that these are people in any not even in a
- 2:33:51Christian community before I became a Christian that I
- 2:33:54wouldn't want to have anything to do with.
- 2:33:56And if I wouldn't want to have anything to do with them from a
- 2:33:59secular world because they were so evil according to that hard
- 2:34:04wiring instinct that I that I know, why would I want to do
- 2:34:09that in in in a Christian circle?
- 2:34:12And that's Paul's point consistently in all the letters
- 2:34:16that we've identified today. It's not saying people you need
- 2:34:19to be scared for your salvation. It's that Christ is worthy of
- 2:34:24our best behavior, so do better. I I get why?
- 2:34:30Some groups of people, especially certain names have
- 2:34:33been mentioned are a bit salty and why there's issues, but
- 2:34:38there is one person that I don't understand why people get
- 2:34:41irritated with and I've talked to them for a long time.
- 2:34:44I'm not trying to justify anything but that goal.
- 2:34:48I don't understand why people get rough on him for I I love
- 2:34:53veckel I think. He's great.
- 2:34:56I've had. Some issues with.
- 2:34:57Veckel and my biggest I think the thing with Veckel.
- 2:35:02And you know I. Don't know, I can't speak for
- 2:35:04other people, but he he and it's just positive too as he gives
- 2:35:09everyone a fair shake. That being said, there's
- 2:35:15something to be said about what you said.
- 2:35:18Related like where where I think.
- 2:35:21Beckel can get. Himself into trouble and get if
- 2:35:23he's one of the guys I'm thinking of, you know that I
- 2:35:25talked about who I want to protect because I think giving a
- 2:35:33fair shake is good. Giving a fair shake at the
- 2:35:36expense of the fruits of the spirit and the desires of God
- 2:35:41for us is another story. And the worst part about it is
- 2:35:47when the theologies, particularly being taught by
- 2:35:52where I think the evil exists, when the theologies also are so
- 2:35:56hypocritical that their works based and their works are
- 2:36:00horrible and they lead people to other bad works.
- 2:36:03As you can see, whether it's gossip and slander and pointing
- 2:36:07fingers and judgement and all these things, they're doing it
- 2:36:11and at the other side of their mouth they're saying those who
- 2:36:14do those things aren't going to stay saved.
- 2:36:18It's a. Cornucopia of hypocrisy that can
- 2:36:25lead a proper Christian brother into weakening his witness and
- 2:36:33weakening his walk is the best that I would say there.
- 2:36:38But I, I think my personal feelings about Beckel is like, I
- 2:36:42think he's, he's great. He hangs around people that I'm,
- 2:36:45I'm not fond of at all, though. He's got a, he's got a lot.
- 2:36:49Of views that the reason why I find it strange is because
- 2:36:54there's a lot of things about him that are a lot like the way
- 2:36:58you view things where he has told me he doesn't want people
- 2:37:02getting influenced by negativity he doesn't he feels that he
- 2:37:06needs to go in and expose evil and correct people and all that
- 2:37:10he's got the same mindset but for some reason he takes heat
- 2:37:15for making the attempt no it's the same heat that I.
- 2:37:18Get, you know, it's like you were saying, you know why Ryan
- 2:37:21was doing the thing and the heat that I get for for doing that.
- 2:37:24Because often times when Veckel gets involved, you know, I don't
- 2:37:29want to gossip about him too much, but I would just say this
- 2:37:31is just a small talk about a brother.
- 2:37:35When Veckel gets involved and he gets heated, it's usually when
- 2:37:38he's been attacked. Like Veckel, I don't.
- 2:37:43Think has gone out of his way to do a video about something that
- 2:37:47I've said or something I did, and maybe he will now, I don't
- 2:37:50know, but I don't think so. I think I'm being fair to him
- 2:37:54because I've never in a public chat chastised him like too
- 2:37:59egregiously, I don't think. And if I did, I would apologize.
- 2:38:03But I, I do think that he's in circles right now that are not
- 2:38:09healthy for him, but I am, we can agree to disagree with that.
- 2:38:12And me and Freckle and, and I don't go to his chats now
- 2:38:17because of that. So if, if he was going to have
- 2:38:20an influence on me in any way, for instance, if I'm wrong about
- 2:38:24something, his witness has been greatly tarnished because I, I
- 2:38:30don't, I'm not going to hang there.
- 2:38:33He's. Hanging with evil.
- 2:38:36Beckel and I were. And probably yourself as well.
- 2:38:40We're kind of in a dilemma here because it it seems like no
- 2:38:45matter where I go in social media, no matter what rooms, no
- 2:38:49matter what group, even if I don't agree with a lot of the
- 2:38:52people I'm in a room with, it's like I immediately get the
- 2:38:56guilty by association thing. Oh yeah.
- 2:38:59How are you supposed to reach out to people?
- 2:39:01How are you supposed to get through to somebody if you don't
- 2:39:05jump into the the pool? You know what I mean?
- 2:39:08And that's why I can't in the. End I'm not going to I don't
- 2:39:12condemn. I I hope I didn't veckle for who
- 2:39:17he hangs out with. It's just I'm I'm not going to
- 2:39:20hang out in those circles with those people in there.
- 2:39:24And why I'm not going to condemn him for that, though, is and
- 2:39:27goes to the point of what you're saying that God's model, Jesus's
- 2:39:33model for us is, you know, the dust your feet model.
- 2:39:37If someone who I don't like who? I think needs some.
- 2:39:42Spiritual help is a person of peace to veckle.
- 2:39:49Then I trust that. God will use Veckle to influence
- 2:39:52them for good. That's my hope.
- 2:39:55The. Problem is you know.
- 2:39:56When I've what I've seen come out of it, I just.
- 2:40:01I I. See those people?
- 2:40:02Affecting Beckel in a way that he's participating in the
- 2:40:07dissension and faction more than as someone, you know what I'm
- 2:40:10saying. So but back to to the person of
- 2:40:15peace thing. That's how I felt with Bill.
- 2:40:18Bill, Bill and I were at odds then we were friendly and then
- 2:40:23we were at odds again. Bill, Bill and I have been back
- 2:40:26and forth, back and forth and it I think it's been since.
- 2:40:30Why does? It happen for.
- 2:40:31You seemed pretty laid back until why?
- 2:40:34Why does it go back and forth? Oh well, it did because.
- 2:40:37Of it was because of people that he would hang out with and so I,
- 2:40:41I try it goes back that's why I brought him up about the person
- 2:40:44of peace. So he was a person of peace with
- 2:40:46someone who I won't bring up, but people know who I one of the
- 2:40:50people that I was exposing, you know, like 2010, 1112, whatever,
- 2:40:55and even beyond that. And he was friendly with that
- 2:40:59person and I kept rationalizing to go, you know?
- 2:41:03If that person's a. Person of peace for him, Maybe
- 2:41:07Bill. Will be able to.
- 2:41:09Share stuff with him that will bring him closer to God.
- 2:41:14And that actually has been occurred as far as I'm
- 2:41:18concerned. And that particular individual,
- 2:41:20I'm actually mostly a person of peace with that person right now
- 2:41:24too, which is good. So that one worked out OK.
- 2:41:29It's just we would if I would upset the person that he was a
- 2:41:33person at peace with or the the person that he was a person at
- 2:41:37peace with upset me, then we had we were put into factions and
- 2:41:42dissensions. It's the way of the world,
- 2:41:44right? It's when we start relying on
- 2:41:46the flesh and stuff and Christian.
- 2:41:48And that's the perfect, I think clothes for us.
- 2:41:51It's the reminder. YouTube is a great reflection
- 2:41:53for us, especially for people that are worried about their
- 2:41:57works and they think that their salvation's dependent on it.
- 2:42:00We we fail so often hear publicly and that it should be
- 2:42:06very clear to us that there's there's none righteous.
- 2:42:10No, not one, no matter how hard we try.
- 2:42:13But thanks be to Jesus, who is the gate, who paves a way for us
- 2:42:18the narrow way him. Being the way the.
- 2:42:21Truth and the life He's given us a Rd. to eternal life with Him
- 2:42:27and the Father and the Spirit. So on that note, I think.
- 2:42:30That's a good way for us to close Brett and I.
- 2:42:33I wish you God's blessings and I thank you for the opportunity.
- 2:42:38To talk, well, every Friday. At 7:00 PM Central, I'm going to
- 2:42:41try to run a show and I'll try to make sure that, you know,
- 2:42:45people don't pile up on each other.
- 2:42:47I always try to keep things right, but I got to be honest,
- 2:42:51the whole referee of the WWE, as much as I enjoy the show, I
- 2:42:54don't want to be in the middle of the match.
- 2:42:56Well, that's why people say that I'm.
- 2:42:58A censor. But I and I am, I guess.
- 2:43:00I block. I block a ton of people.
- 2:43:03Oh, I'm blocked. Too.
- 2:43:04Because I see something really, really annoying.
- 2:43:07Maybe one of these days you could help me on a peacekeeper
- 2:43:11scenario with a, a specific person, though, that I do not
- 2:43:15want to have an issue with, but for some reason I can't
- 2:43:18articulate it in a way where it calms them down.
- 2:43:21Yeah, I, I. Just.
- 2:43:23I know, I think I know what you're talking about and I
- 2:43:26sometimes it's better If you can't be a personal piece there,
- 2:43:28then don't It's. I love that particular person.
- 2:43:34If you if you're talking to the right person about the right
- 2:43:37person, I think that we are. There's just hot buttons that
- 2:43:40everyone knows if you've been in this community long enough not
- 2:43:44to push and people push it. And I would just.
- 2:43:49Tell you. You know the line.
- 2:43:53In. Scripture is so important that
- 2:43:57if at all possible, live in peace with all people.
- 2:44:00And, and that key component of that line in Scripture is as far
- 2:44:04as it depends on you. Once we know the buttons that we
- 2:44:08can push on somebody, let's not do it, you know.
- 2:44:11And that being said, I'm, I'm a good creature of that.
- 2:44:14I'm not a good doer. Well, that's the problem.
- 2:44:17I haven't initiated any kind of issue with this person, but what
- 2:44:22happens is I'll be in a room somewhere either over at back
- 2:44:26bowls or hanging out with TTR, and he'll just show up and say,
- 2:44:31you know, you remember this from 10 years ago.
- 2:44:35And yeah, well, I would say, well, it's something.
- 2:44:36That was rehashed recently, so this doesn't have to.
- 2:44:39Are we live right now or are we? Yeah, we're still alive.
- 2:44:42Oh, OK, then we we could. Talk about this offline.
- 2:44:44I didn't know it was live. All right, well.
- 2:44:47If you want like, yeah, I mean. I, I can tell you, I mean, I, I
- 2:44:51don't think it's so out of turn to say it, but no, it's better
- 2:44:55that we do it offline if we're I can end it and then.
- 2:44:58If you stay in the room, I'll yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:45:01All right, let me go ahead and play.
- 2:45:02The outro for people.
