- 0:19Speaker 4: Boy, Lizzie, You're off somewhere.
- 0:22Speaker 5: Where are you?
- 0:23Speaker 2: I'm sorry, justin Tazzi drinking so much local whiskey that'll

- 0:31Speaker 2: to say.
- 0:32Speaker 1: This is the No Dribble Summer Series. Enjoy, guys, Hello
- 0:40Speaker 1: and welcome to the No Dribble Summer Series, brought to
- 0:43Speaker 1: you not live in the slightest.
- 0:45Speaker 4: We did this week's ago.
- 0:46Speaker 3: We have checked out.
- 0:48Speaker 6: We are on holidays though right now Lizzy Elis is
- 0:52Speaker 6: not even here with us. We are.
- 0:54Speaker 4: This will tell you when we recorded this, because we have.
- 0:56Speaker 6: Keeley Defree here with us today, which is very exciting.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I'm Carolyn Smandel, I'm.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Kath Cox, and I'm kille De and.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Cas you've got something pretty exciting.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't have to guess. No, you are okay?
- 1:09Speaker 3: Pop the mask on plas Smiss did you do doing
- 1:12Speaker 3: it this time.
- 1:13Speaker 4: It's me.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Okay, I pulled in the big guns for you today.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Oh excellent, well little gun actually it's a midquarter.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Wow. Not assume these I know your biases.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Okay, all right, she said to me straight away.
- 1:27Speaker 2: You're a hip biggot.
- 1:28Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:29Speaker 3: This particular person thirty one years of a shank.
- 1:34Speaker 5: She's a little old for these days.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Barely a fetus, I would have said.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Originally from South Australia. Oh interesting, so played first National
- 1:45Speaker 3: League game with the Thunderbirds before becoming very smart and
- 1:49Speaker 3: moving to the new South Wales Swifts. Okay, that particular
- 1:53Speaker 3: player has been for quite some time. Currently I'm not
- 1:56Speaker 3: allowed to write the question is there anything ticking over
- 1:59Speaker 3: in your head just yet?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Or there's I'm feverish with excitement? Oh okay Australian Diamonds
- 2:07Speaker 1: squad member. Okay, and in the corner, swear this.
- 2:11Speaker 3: One you will love?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Okay?
- 2:13Speaker 3: An author?
- 2:14Speaker 5: Oh now, we're three books.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Really, if we're really narrowing things down, you at it?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Do I give away the question that always does it? Well?
- 2:26Speaker 6: So what I'm thinking is that that this person might
- 2:29Speaker 6: be graceful in their Can you give me the last one?
- 2:34Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Okay, we'll let me.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Give you a couple. Okay, this person, this will be
- 2:39Speaker 3: the clincher, is a new mother, Oh my gosh, and
- 2:45Speaker 3: is a champagne drinker.
- 2:47Speaker 2: It's very proud. Oh my god.
- 2:48Speaker 5: I'm so excited. Welcome. Oh thank you for having me.
- 2:52Speaker 5: I'm so excited to be invited back. We must do
- 2:54Speaker 5: something right the first time.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Now, this is the thing.
- 2:57Speaker 3: We don't invite people back. You are a different person
- 3:01Speaker 3: now because you're Maty Proud the Rock and around single Nippaller.
- 3:06Speaker 3: You're a mother. How the hell is that going? Well?
- 3:10Speaker 7: I realized that had a bit of a moral dilemma
- 3:12Speaker 7: the first time I was on this podcast, because I
- 3:13Speaker 7: think I knew I was pregnant, but I hadn't told
- 3:16Speaker 7: any one yet, And so I remember sitting in that room,
- 3:18Speaker 7: We're talking about all these future things. And then turns
- 3:20Speaker 7: out the podcast came out after I'd announced it. So sorry,
- 3:23Speaker 7: I should have given you guys the exclusive. So I apologize,
- 3:25Speaker 7: but that in advance.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Do you know what?
- 3:27Speaker 1: This is one exclusive that I think you can handle
- 3:30Speaker 1: exactly the way you wish to, So that's fair.
- 3:34Speaker 4: We did do some counting back and then when there
- 3:37Speaker 4: was one extra person in the room.
- 3:39Speaker 7: Yes, Lily's first podcast actually, so there you go. So yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 7: but no going well, got god, just six months now.
- 3:47Speaker 7: She was six months yesterday, so I think, yeah, time
- 3:49Speaker 7: has flown. But yeah, it's the best. I think everyone
- 3:52Speaker 7: tells you, you know how amazing motherhood is, and I
- 3:54Speaker 7: think I, yeah, didn't probably.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Realize how incredible it was until I've experienced it.
- 3:59Speaker 7: So yeah, loving it every minute, but then also loving
- 4:01Speaker 7: yet being able to be back around the girls and
- 4:03Speaker 7: back in Australia actually as well has been very nice.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Well on that because we are meremmortal so we have
- 4:08Speaker 3: babies and yeah, we enjoy it. But you have to
- 4:11Speaker 3: go back to training. So when was the first training
- 4:14Speaker 3: session and which bits didn't hurt?
- 4:17Speaker 5: Oh god, I think I'm still hurting.
- 4:19Speaker 7: So I came back I think mid October, so I
- 4:21Speaker 7: landed back from we were over in the UK, got
- 4:23Speaker 7: back I think the second of October, and was back
- 4:25Speaker 7: on about the fourteenth into training. So we started slow,
- 4:29Speaker 7: but then yeah, sort of the last week or two
- 4:32Speaker 7: things have ramped up. So yeah, I think I thought, maybe,
- 4:35Speaker 7: you know, this year off would give my body a
- 4:37Speaker 7: whole chance to recover and i'd be this young, you know,
- 4:41Speaker 7: sixteen year old to get out of the court, but
- 4:43Speaker 7: that's fair say that didn't quite happen.
- 4:45Speaker 5: So yeah, it's been a slow transition, but enjoying it.
- 4:49Speaker 7: And I think the limbs have enjoyed a bit of
- 4:50Speaker 7: a break, but I'll also enjoy a little bit more
- 4:53Speaker 7: time to get that properly onto the court.
- 4:56Speaker 2: So what what's been the biggest body changes you think?
- 4:59Speaker 2: So when from before to now.
- 5:02Speaker 7: Well, I end up having to have a cesarian in
- 5:04Speaker 7: the end. So Lily was an undiagnosed breach, so I
- 5:07Speaker 7: went into labor waters broke. I mean, we're going into
- 5:09Speaker 7: a lot of detail here, but as you know, I
- 5:11Speaker 7: I don't share any details. I'm gon overshare it, you know,
- 5:14Speaker 7: through and through. So yeah, it was at the hospital
- 5:17Speaker 7: was everything was going swimmingly, and then they came around
- 5:20Speaker 7: and randomly decided to give me a scan.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Someone was learning and wanted to practice on me. And
- 5:25Speaker 5: then Yeah told me that they the head was up
- 5:29Speaker 5: near my ribs and so she was, yeah, the wrong
- 5:31Speaker 5: way around. So I ended up having to go into
- 5:33Speaker 5: sort of an emergency C section. So I think it
- 5:35Speaker 5: was that recovery.
- 5:36Speaker 7: I probably didn't quite expect that to be as probably
- 5:39Speaker 7: long and as painful as it was, and then yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 7: probably coming back into things.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Then it's sort of You've had.
- 5:45Speaker 7: I guess, fairly major surgery, so you know, doing a
- 5:48Speaker 7: shoulder pass felt for her for a little while, like
- 5:50Speaker 7: maybe something in the inside was going to come out
- 5:52Speaker 7: the wrong way. But I've had lots of you know,
- 5:54Speaker 7: physio and lots of people helping me out, so that
- 5:56Speaker 7: was probably the biggest transition.
- 5:58Speaker 5: And then actually learning to catch a ball again. I
- 6:00Speaker 5: think I've forgotten. That's a little harder than I remembered.
- 6:04Speaker 3: So you do plenty of scans when you're pregnant. Did
- 6:07Speaker 3: she turn right at the end, well, so had out,
- 6:11Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it was really wrong.
- 6:13Speaker 7: The system over in the UK was a little bit different,
- 6:15Speaker 7: so I had my twenty week scan here before I left,
- 6:17Speaker 7: and then I went over there when I was about
- 6:19Speaker 7: thirty one weeks expecting to get that. I think it's
- 6:22Speaker 7: maybe thirty six weeks that they do it again. But
- 6:25Speaker 7: their system over there is quite different and they only
- 6:27Speaker 7: do another scan if you know you're showing signs of anything,
- 6:30Speaker 7: or if the baby's it's measuring big or anything like that.
- 6:32Speaker 7: And because you know, every time I've gone in, they
- 6:35Speaker 7: thought they could feel the head and everything seemed to
- 6:37Speaker 7: be going all right. I sort of kept questioning it,
- 6:39Speaker 7: and we nearly went and got some downe ourselves. But
- 6:41Speaker 7: you know, you sort of take the advice that you're
- 6:43Speaker 7: given at the time. But then yet it turns out
- 6:45Speaker 7: that the way that sort of her head was when
- 6:46Speaker 7: she came out, they think that it was probably a
- 6:48Speaker 7: little while that she was upside down. So she just
- 6:50Speaker 7: had a really you know, ferm toned bottom from the
- 6:54Speaker 7: beginning that everyone thought that that was her, that was
- 6:56Speaker 7: her head, So she's already you.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Know, in good nick.
- 7:00Speaker 6: It's a bit scary though, when you like I had
- 7:02Speaker 6: elective cesareans, so I was I knew what was happening
- 7:06Speaker 6: the whole way along, but to get that kind of
- 7:08Speaker 6: I know, we're changing plan at the last minute, that's
- 7:11Speaker 6: that's a bit scary.
- 7:12Speaker 7: Yeah, And I'd always kind of been open to anything.
- 7:14Speaker 7: I was always kind of under the impression, you I've
- 7:16Speaker 7: never done this before, so whatever happens happens. And I
- 7:18Speaker 7: had no real set kind of I guess birth plan
- 7:21Speaker 7: if you will, But I think, yeah, it was just
- 7:23Speaker 7: the fact that you're kind of in that moment, thinking
- 7:25Speaker 7: that everything was going to go one way, and then
- 7:27Speaker 7: I probably hadn't maybe looked into enough in terms of,
- 7:30Speaker 7: you know, the recovery itself as well. I probably was
- 7:32Speaker 7: shocked by how kind of a mobile I was for
- 7:35Speaker 7: so long afterwards. And I also probably didn't take their
- 7:38Speaker 7: advice you know, or you can move around a little bit.
- 7:40Speaker 7: I thought that meant, you know, i'd be out walking
- 7:42Speaker 7: and you know, doing you know, my weights the next
- 7:44Speaker 7: couple of days. But yeah, it definitely forced me to
- 7:46Speaker 7: slow down for a little while. But yeah, now everything's fine.
- 7:49Speaker 7: So as long as you've got a healthy baby, that's
- 7:50Speaker 7: all that matters in the end.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Let's be honestly, you were doing fist pumps because you
- 7:54Speaker 3: didn't have to push a watermelon at you vagina.
- 7:57Speaker 5: You could tell us once once I'd had over in
- 7:59Speaker 5: the recovery room, and I was a bit like, oh,
- 8:01Speaker 5: you know, this wasn't exactly how we wanted things to go,
- 8:03Speaker 5: but we've got this baby, so we're fine.
- 8:05Speaker 7: And then I could hear some of the screams of
- 8:06Speaker 7: the other women in the label ord and I was
- 8:08Speaker 7: I was like, you know what, things have worked out
- 8:11Speaker 7: pretty well.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I think.
- 8:12Speaker 5: I think it's all worked out for a reason now,
- 8:15Speaker 5: so it was all good in the end.
- 8:17Speaker 6: Demonstrates how uptight I am, though. But once I heard
- 8:20Speaker 6: that a lot of women will pooh themselves during childbirth,
- 8:24Speaker 6: I thought, why would you do that? It's people who
- 8:27Speaker 6: run marathons and poo this.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Stop, sit down, don't put yourself in public.
- 8:32Speaker 5: That's a good point, it's a very good point.
- 8:38Speaker 2: How do we recover from that?
- 8:41Speaker 5: It's taken a.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Turn, it's taken the giants and pool already. I think
- 8:44Speaker 3: that's for joining us.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Good luck he could be in English roads rather than
- 8:49Speaker 4: Australian diamond.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Well, this is the part that was a bit complicated.
- 8:53Speaker 7: So she didn't automatically get an English citizenship like a
- 8:57Speaker 7: lot of people had told me, because they have got
- 8:58Speaker 7: rid of Yeah, birth right citizenship doesn't exist in the
- 9:01Speaker 7: UK anymore.
- 9:02Speaker 5: So it was a bit of a process. We had
- 9:03Speaker 5: to apply for.
- 9:04Speaker 7: An Australian citizens you apply for an Australian passport, which
- 9:08Speaker 7: took I think only got her passport the week before
- 9:10Speaker 7: we were meant to come back, because you know, we
- 9:12Speaker 7: had to prove that she was a good character to
- 9:14Speaker 7: become a good you know, an Australian, isn't she's she's
- 9:17Speaker 7: two weeks old, but so far she's been.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Put on the application has a really you know mass
- 9:21Speaker 2: Ferm Buttocks.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Yes exactly, said she'll be good, you know, goodness Swarting produce.
- 9:26Speaker 2: That's absurd is the photo, Oh.
- 9:28Speaker 5: My god, her photo and trying to have the eyes
- 9:30Speaker 5: open and the head straight.
- 9:31Speaker 7: And she was about two weeks old when we went
- 9:33Speaker 7: in to try and do it so and they can
- 9:35Speaker 7: keep the past for five years. I was like, she
- 9:36Speaker 7: doesn't even look the same after two days.
- 9:38Speaker 4: It was a drawing of a baby that's about as
- 9:41Speaker 4: actually for two weeks exactly.
- 9:44Speaker 7: But I have I have been told that where they're
- 9:46Speaker 7: born it's different for sport though apparently they don't have
- 9:49Speaker 7: to be a citizen. But again, you know, not that,
- 9:51Speaker 7: not that I've got high expectations or anything. She might
- 9:53Speaker 7: she might want to be a musician or a florist
- 9:55Speaker 7: or something, and we'll let her do what she wants
- 9:57Speaker 7: to do.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Hey, were you just to clarify for all of the
- 10:00Speaker 3: netty fans listening, were you always coming back or was
- 10:04Speaker 3: the pressure then on you? When Paige Hadley announced that
- 10:07Speaker 3: Gee was pregnant Briannie Abel would be like, oh, for God's.
- 10:10Speaker 7: Sake, well, I know if we've tagged teams, haven't we
- 10:13Speaker 7: Well I always had another year, so I'd signed a
- 10:16Speaker 7: three year contract at the start of twenty twenty four,
- 10:19Speaker 7: so I always had this season in my contract, if
- 10:22Speaker 7: that makes sense.
- 10:22Speaker 5: But I if I'm totally honest, and I'll be I
- 10:25Speaker 5: wasn't sure.
- 10:26Speaker 7: I was very much on the fence. I thought, you know,
- 10:28Speaker 7: you just never know what mother's going to be like.
- 10:30Speaker 7: You don't know what your birth's going to be like,
- 10:31Speaker 7: you don't know what your baby's going to be like.
- 10:33Speaker 7: I also, you know that last twenty twenty four season
- 10:37Speaker 7: had been pretty tough, like as a team, I physically
- 10:40Speaker 7: wasn't in, you know, the best position. My knee wasn't great,
- 10:42Speaker 7: So I didn't want to kind of have any expectations
- 10:45Speaker 7: one way or the other, and so really left it open.
- 10:48Speaker 5: And then it got to the point.
- 10:49Speaker 7: Where obviously we found out about Paigey, and then time
- 10:52Speaker 7: was sort of coming that it was, you know, having
- 10:53Speaker 7: to make that decision, and I just thought, you know what,
- 10:55Speaker 7: I don't want to regret not giving you a go.
- 10:58Speaker 7: I felt like, you know, I still had more to
- 11:00Speaker 7: give and then again obviously knowing that Paigey wasn't going
- 11:03Speaker 7: to be there, I wanted to, you know, be able
- 11:04Speaker 7: to be around the group still where I wanted to
- 11:06Speaker 7: be able to be around when Paige has her baby
- 11:08Speaker 7: so that I can be involved there as well. So yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 7: just kind of went in thinking why not and let's
- 11:14Speaker 7: kind of give it a go. I chatted with you know,
- 11:15Speaker 7: Daniel about it in terms of how we're going to
- 11:17Speaker 7: make it work as a family and all of that.
- 11:19Speaker 7: My mum's very excited because she's going to be able
- 11:21Speaker 7: to come along and be involved a lot more and
- 11:23Speaker 7: you know, help out with the grandma duties. So yeah,
- 11:26Speaker 7: it was definitely fifty to fifty. But yeah, excited now
- 11:28Speaker 7: that I've made the decision to come back.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I want to know, we know you hit the deck
- 11:47Speaker 2: a lot in game training, how many times you hit
- 11:50Speaker 2: the deck so far in training? And how are you
- 11:52Speaker 2: coping getting up?
- 11:53Speaker 3: And you.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Don't have to.
- 11:58Speaker 5: Answer about last week, I'll say, no, it's for the
- 12:01Speaker 5: last one. I actually I think I don't think I've
- 12:05Speaker 5: had a proper proper stack yet.
- 12:07Speaker 7: I've been a bit modified in my return back, so
- 12:09Speaker 7: I haven't been you know full pelt competitive training yet
- 12:13Speaker 7: although knowing me, it would usually happen when I'm just
- 12:15Speaker 7: running on my own anyway, so we're not anybody else
- 12:17Speaker 7: around me for that to happen. But I think I'm
- 12:19Speaker 7: maybe a little bit more wary now because I know
- 12:21Speaker 7: that it's going to be a lot harder to get
- 12:22Speaker 7: back up. But I was actually having that thought today, thinking, God,
- 12:26Speaker 7: the body might not quite recover from the army roles
- 12:28Speaker 7: like it used to, so I might have to learn to,
- 12:31Speaker 7: you know, not trip over my own feet anymore.
- 12:33Speaker 5: That's number one in the train return to Play program.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I think Matts, you talked about your mum being more
- 12:40Speaker 3: involved in hands on and she's excited about that. What's
- 12:42Speaker 3: the parental support like in network? Kill and I were
- 12:45Speaker 3: chatting about it before, and I said, the perfect person
- 12:48Speaker 3: to speak to his mate.
- 12:49Speaker 2: He's in the thick of it.
- 12:50Speaker 3: So how that work for you in training? And then
- 12:53Speaker 3: once a season starts?
- 12:55Speaker 7: Yes, So in season the policy is that for as
- 12:58Speaker 7: long as you're breastfeeding or until the one, they will
- 13:01Speaker 7: always cover the cost of the baby and a care
- 13:04Speaker 7: coming along. So whether that's a partner or mum and dad,
- 13:07Speaker 7: whoever it needs to be so Lily will be able
- 13:09Speaker 7: to travel to Yeah, every game with us, it'll be
- 13:12Speaker 7: Daniel at the start and then he's got to go
- 13:13Speaker 7: back to the UK, so that's where Mum will stub
- 13:15Speaker 7: in and she's I said to Mam, I said, you
- 13:17Speaker 7: do like we're gonna have to.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Look after the baby. You can't just have a you know,
- 13:19Speaker 5: wine with Briany before the games. You've got you've got
- 13:21Speaker 5: a job to do.
- 13:23Speaker 4: That's the job.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Description at Carolyn did all the swift skates too, but
- 13:30Speaker 1: I do have a ginny take that I need to.
- 13:32Speaker 7: Hit and then yeah, during the week in terms of
- 13:38Speaker 7: training and that it is. I guess it's like a
- 13:39Speaker 7: normal job where you look after your own kids. They
- 13:42Speaker 7: can't they come in every now and then, like Lily
- 13:44Speaker 7: has come into a few sessions here and there. But
- 13:46Speaker 7: we've been pretty lucky with our situation that Daniel has
- 13:49Speaker 7: been home a lot, so he's sort of in a
- 13:51Speaker 7: bit of a break from his season, so he's been
- 13:53Speaker 7: kind of a state home dad when I'm out at training.
- 13:56Speaker 7: And then we've got a girl lined up that does
- 13:57Speaker 7: a little bit of nannying here and there. But the yeah,
- 14:00Speaker 7: support is that they still support you in the whole. Yeah,
- 14:03Speaker 7: when you're in season, and like we've got a team
- 14:05Speaker 7: camp coming up, so we've got Gina as well, who's
- 14:07Speaker 7: got little Regie's only four months old, so he'll travel
- 14:10Speaker 7: to the camp with us as well.
- 14:12Speaker 5: So they're definitely around a lot. And I think, you know,
- 14:14Speaker 5: compared to what it was, it's come a long way
- 14:17Speaker 5: the parental policy now and.
- 14:19Speaker 3: You mentioned Daniel it's got to go back to the
- 14:20Speaker 3: UK to play. How long are you guys a past?
- 14:23Speaker 7: Yeah, so that was all that was the big thing
- 14:25Speaker 7: about when we sort of made this decision, because he's
- 14:27Speaker 7: got another year, yeah, playing for Sussex and it's et
- 14:30Speaker 7: to that or you know, you don't have a job
- 14:31Speaker 7: and when you've got a child, you need you need
- 14:32Speaker 7: the jobs around, so we thought he had to do that.
- 14:35Speaker 7: But it'll be about three months, which will, yeah, be
- 14:39Speaker 7: very tough, but that's when Mum has said that she's
- 14:41Speaker 7: going to pretty much come over for the whole pretty much.
- 14:43Speaker 7: She'll live with pretty much me and Lily and then
- 14:45Speaker 7: the moment the season's done, me and Lili will go
- 14:47Speaker 7: back over to the UK and spend the rest of
- 14:50Speaker 7: the season over there. So tough then also when you
- 14:53Speaker 7: kind of work it out, I mean the amount of
- 14:54Speaker 7: time he's getting to spend with her at the moment
- 14:56Speaker 7: when you know a lot of other dads would be
- 14:57Speaker 7: working nine to fives and not have to you know,
- 15:00Speaker 7: almost get home and the baby's in bed, so it
- 15:02Speaker 7: gets a lot of quality time. Now he's banking that
- 15:04Speaker 7: all up for the three months we'll have a part.
- 15:06Speaker 7: But yeah, it will be pretty tough. I'm sure once
- 15:08Speaker 7: we're in the thick of it.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Have you got you mentioned Gina Crampton.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Are there women that you're talking to who have been
- 15:15Speaker 1: through this return to professional sport?
- 15:18Speaker 3: Like?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Have you got role models or mentors in that space
- 15:21Speaker 1: who were sort of really talking turkey with you about
- 15:25Speaker 1: this stuff? Well, early on talking turkey and putting yourself
- 15:29Speaker 1: obviously as well. No, Emily Nunis has been awesome. She's
- 15:33Speaker 1: absolutely in the early stages as well. But even when
- 15:36Speaker 1: I was just pregnant, in that first little bit, she
- 15:38Speaker 1: was really great to sort of talk to, and she
- 15:40Speaker 1: was in that similar position where she was trying to
- 15:42Speaker 1: figure out whether she was going to come back, and
- 15:44Speaker 1: so it was nice to sort of have someone to
- 15:46Speaker 1: chat to about that.
- 15:47Speaker 5: I've also gone to Ramelder a lot. We had Ramelda
- 15:50Speaker 5: and Gigi, and I think from Elder Gigi was very young.
- 15:53Speaker 7: I think she might have only been three months when
- 15:55Speaker 7: she first came in, and she was pretty much on
- 15:56Speaker 7: her own because her heart.
- 15:58Speaker 5: Also, Daniel had to stay in Brisbane, so even that
- 16:01Speaker 5: side of things, you know, have leant on her a lot.
- 16:03Speaker 7: And she's been amazing with just sort of giving advice
- 16:05Speaker 7: in terms of you know, just just doing what's right
- 16:07Speaker 7: for you and that no one's ever going to be
- 16:09Speaker 7: the same. And I think that's the biggest part is
- 16:11Speaker 7: that while you know other moms can give advice, everyone's
- 16:13Speaker 7: experience is still very different. Everyone's you know, babies are
- 16:16Speaker 7: quite different in that. But yeah, she's been awesome to
- 16:18Speaker 7: be able to talk to about all those sorts of things.
- 16:20Speaker 7: And you know, she'd ended in Adelaide as well, so
- 16:22Speaker 7: she's been great for that too.
- 16:24Speaker 2: We've been talking about like when people give you advice,
- 16:26Speaker 2: you know, and they talk about their pregnancy stories, they
- 16:28Speaker 2: talk about their birth stories, but what's the most ridiculous
- 16:31Speaker 2: piece of advice someone's giving you, either before or after.
- 16:35Speaker 7: Well, I think my problem is that I have become
- 16:38Speaker 7: everything I said I wouldn't be as a mother.
- 16:40Speaker 5: So I think, you know, oh my god, everyone's like
- 16:43Speaker 5: you know, I used.
- 16:44Speaker 7: To think everyone was ridiculous and that when they were
- 16:46Speaker 7: telling me, oh, you've got to get your baby on
- 16:47Speaker 7: a sleep schedule early and all these things, and.
- 16:49Speaker 5: I was like, nah, she'll be fine, like I'll just
- 16:51Speaker 5: take her wherever.
- 16:52Speaker 7: And now that you know she actually does sleep well
- 16:54Speaker 7: on a schedule, I was like, now I understand why
- 16:56Speaker 7: people gave me that advice, people not to feed her
- 16:58Speaker 7: to sleep, but I was doing that that I don't
- 17:00Speaker 7: it works better, so oh, I'm trying to feed. I
- 17:03Speaker 7: think it was no, maybe it was the sleep when
- 17:04Speaker 7: the baby sleeps, because that one was just ridiculous. Because
- 17:07Speaker 7: for starters, I was like, when am I going to
- 17:08Speaker 7: watch my Netflix shows if I'm not you know, if
- 17:11Speaker 7: I'm not up, there's nothing to do with.
- 17:12Speaker 5: The housework or the cooking. That's just somebody else.
- 17:15Speaker 7: But yeah, I'm not much of a nappa, so I
- 17:17Speaker 7: never really slept when she slept. But no, I'm to
- 17:20Speaker 7: think now everyone's been pretty good. But I think, yeah,
- 17:23Speaker 7: I'm like I was always like I won't take too
- 17:24Speaker 7: many photos of my baby. I'm taking four thousand photos
- 17:28Speaker 7: a day and posting twelve thousand photos. I mean, I
- 17:30Speaker 7: don't think I've posted anything on Instagram lately that hasn't
- 17:32Speaker 7: been Lily. I'm the biggest helicopter parent. I'm like, she's
- 17:35Speaker 7: about to start, you know, some of those allergen foods
- 17:38Speaker 7: or whatever. I'm like, I am parking out in the
- 17:39Speaker 7: front of the hospital in case something happens because I
- 17:41Speaker 7: don't know how to die. I am an embarrassment. I
- 17:44Speaker 7: said that to Bridi today. She's like, all right, helicopter,
- 17:46Speaker 7: fly back off to your baby at home.
- 17:48Speaker 5: I'm like, it's ridiculous.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I remember Salita Gilson and saying the same thing because
- 17:52Speaker 3: she had three older brothers and they all talk about
- 17:55Speaker 3: being on sleep schedules and blah blah blah. I'm not
- 17:58Speaker 3: going to have this child control my life. I'll be
- 18:01Speaker 3: doing what I want when I wanted. She said. The
- 18:03Speaker 3: first thing was some all the sleep schedules of absolutely right, because.
- 18:08Speaker 5: When you realize it worked, She's like, no, I know
- 18:09Speaker 5: why people rave about it. We'll still take it to
- 18:11Speaker 5: the pub.
- 18:11Speaker 4: So that's fine.
- 18:12Speaker 5: As long as she's still happy to do that.
- 18:13Speaker 2: As long as they sleep in the pub.
- 18:15Speaker 5: That doesn't matter because long as it's in their sleep time.
- 18:18Speaker 3: What about all the aunties she's now got, because I
- 18:20Speaker 3: would imagine we're growing up in that environment, and I mean,
- 18:24Speaker 3: if she stays there long enough to be able to
- 18:26Speaker 3: remember some of it would be really special.
- 18:29Speaker 5: And to be honest, that was probably the number one
- 18:31Speaker 5: reason why I wanted to come back. I think I
- 18:33Speaker 5: was saying the other day.
- 18:34Speaker 7: I was like, I've spent so much time at the Swift,
- 18:36Speaker 7: so I think I came over when I was, you know,
- 18:38Speaker 7: twenty two, young single and never lived out of home,
- 18:40Speaker 7: and now I'm you know, nearly thirty two and have
- 18:42Speaker 7: got a baby. It's like, my kind of whole life
- 18:45Speaker 7: is so different now in the sort of nine years
- 18:47Speaker 7: that I've been in Sydney, and I've been through that
- 18:49Speaker 7: time with you know, your Maddie Turner's, your Sarah's, your Helen's,
- 18:52Speaker 7: your pages, so I think, you know, to have almost
- 18:55Speaker 7: grown up with them, and to then have Lily coming
- 18:56Speaker 7: into that environment that is like your family.
- 18:59Speaker 5: And the same with Brian. She's been there from nearly
- 19:02Speaker 5: the beginning.
- 19:02Speaker 7: So I really wanted, you know, that experience of merging
- 19:05Speaker 7: the two families that I've now got and you know,
- 19:07Speaker 7: even the other day, you know, Maddie Turner had her
- 19:09Speaker 7: for an hour. I was at the tied I Project
- 19:11Speaker 7: and she just you know, all those girls that help
- 19:13Speaker 7: out you never kind of stuck for people to help
- 19:16Speaker 7: her look out for them. And I really wanted to
- 19:18Speaker 7: be able to look back, even if Lily can't remember it,
- 19:20Speaker 7: she can at least have you know, photos of her
- 19:22Speaker 7: with her with them and watching us at games and
- 19:25Speaker 7: experience all of that. That was, yeah, really important thing.
- 19:29Speaker 2: About twenty photos.
- 19:31Speaker 5: So I'm like, what did our parents do And they
- 19:34Speaker 5: didn't have iPhones? I'm like, it's ridiculous one of they.
- 19:38Speaker 3: So they had.
- 19:40Speaker 5: That's so true, so true.
- 19:41Speaker 4: So we've said something on their social media the other
- 19:44Speaker 4: day that with the photo of you and Maddie Turner
- 19:46Speaker 4: at training, and it's find someone who looks at you
- 19:49Speaker 4: the way Maddie Turner looks at Maddie proud Fack at training.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Now it is great.
- 19:54Speaker 5: I think it's hilarious. She came I think it was
- 19:56Speaker 5: the first Dad got back and she came over.
- 19:58Speaker 7: And I think, you know, maybe people have this miscar
- 20:00Speaker 7: perception that well, maybe it happens with a lot of
- 20:01Speaker 7: people but when you become a mum, maybe you changed completely.
- 20:04Speaker 5: And it was hilara. She texted me and Sarah. I
- 20:06Speaker 5: think she says to Sarah that.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Night and she goes, maybe he's still the same, She's
- 20:10Speaker 7: still I was like, God, if anything, I'm more immature
- 20:13Speaker 7: now that I'm a mom, because I've got an excuse to,
- 20:15Speaker 7: you know, talk like a child.
- 20:16Speaker 5: And you know, can sheume my life with a baby?
- 20:19Speaker 2: So, oh, you know how to cut an orange in
- 20:21Speaker 2: one scoot? Isn't that a mother's thing? When you become mother,
- 20:25Speaker 2: you can cut an orange. I haven't my sailings as
- 20:30Speaker 2: a mother.
- 20:31Speaker 7: I haven't either, but I haven't seen that on my
- 20:33Speaker 7: TikTok yet. That's why I'm getting all my parents to
- 20:35Speaker 7: advice wrong.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Maybe when I told so my son's seventeen and a half.
- 20:39Speaker 4: And I remember going to lunch with Liz and Camp
- 20:41Speaker 4: and Julie Fitzjohd and being terrified to tell Liz and
- 20:44Speaker 4: Cath that I was pregnant because I thought they'd just
- 20:46Speaker 4: sort of roll their eyes.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Another breeder.
- 20:48Speaker 4: And it's then they got on board, and it's like, yes, I.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Had no pressure to you, mads, but every player that's
- 20:56Speaker 3: had a child and come back seems to come back
- 20:58Speaker 3: in pretty good would form, like better neveryone than never
- 21:02Speaker 3: ever played before.
- 21:03Speaker 7: I know, but I'm always about to stand dout. Yeah Kats,
- 21:06Speaker 7: so you never know, I might just change the narra.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Please joint as Swift's member. I'm so excited you're back, now,
- 21:13Speaker 4: come on.
- 21:13Speaker 7: I do think it changes your perspective, but I guess
- 21:16Speaker 7: you guys will know that you kind of you know,
- 21:17Speaker 7: you go out there now it's like nipples.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Not that it wasn't always the fun space, but I
- 21:21Speaker 5: think sometimes you can get caught up.
- 21:22Speaker 7: In the you know, the little things and the pressures
- 21:24Speaker 7: and all of that, whereas now it's like, you know,
- 21:26Speaker 7: if you have a bad day at training. And I
- 21:28Speaker 7: remember Daniel doing that when we were over in the UK,
- 21:30Speaker 7: and that's probably another moment that maybe when to come back.
- 21:32Speaker 7: He yeah, I think he got, you know, no runs,
- 21:34Speaker 7: and he said, well, at least I'll come home to
- 21:36Speaker 7: a smiling baby that still loves me, you know, no
- 21:38Speaker 7: matter what. And I really wanted to be able to
- 21:40Speaker 7: experience that side of things. So I think from that perspective,
- 21:43Speaker 7: hopefully it'll you know, make me a better player that
- 21:45Speaker 7: you'll you know, take everything with a bit of a
- 21:47Speaker 7: great assault and play with a bit more freedom. But yeah,
- 21:50Speaker 7: we'll see pressures on, pressures on. It's been on the
- 21:52Speaker 7: right things. You know, I've come full circle from starting
- 21:55Speaker 7: to being a mum. But truth be told, you just
- 21:57Speaker 7: wanted to play with Grace Reki, didn't you. I must
- 22:00Speaker 7: submit that was yeah, when I got a little taste
- 22:02Speaker 7: of even just be about to put that ball the
- 22:04Speaker 7: air when I was, you know, around last year, I thought, God,
- 22:07Speaker 7: that's going to be nice.
- 22:07Speaker 5: And you know, the mumbody then doesn't have to move
- 22:09Speaker 5: too far, doesn't it.
- 22:10Speaker 7: I'm just going to have to ask Brian if she
- 22:11Speaker 7: can let me just you know, bang it in from
- 22:13Speaker 7: the transverse line, and then the job's over. It's going
- 22:16Speaker 7: to say play Goalsheit maybe got many bowl attacks. I
- 22:19Speaker 7: can just lob it up to Grace even easier.
- 22:25Speaker 4: We've already put Maddie in Coxy's hot box.
- 22:28Speaker 2: So they loved it.
- 22:29Speaker 6: Yeah, she did love it, but maybe she would like
- 22:32Speaker 6: to as a new mum, just just relax for a
- 22:35Speaker 6: moment or two and watch Keiley sweat it out in
- 22:37Speaker 6: Coxy's hot box.
- 22:38Speaker 5: Please let's do it.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Oh my god, feel free.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Obviously manage to jump in at any time.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Now you've just risting panel and Keiley is in Coxy's
- 22:47Speaker 4: hot box.
- 22:49Speaker 2: In Coxy's hot boxes because I believe well, hu's fairly
- 22:52Speaker 2: leek and not Robinson Priso or has it got full
- 22:56Speaker 2: of spiderwebs?
- 22:57Speaker 4: Now I'll let you be judge.
- 23:01Speaker 3: You ready?
- 23:02Speaker 2: Okay? So what answered a really quick answer?
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but if we want to dwell on stuff, we will.
- 23:06Speaker 3: There's no rules to all right, what's your coffee order?
- 23:10Speaker 3: Late summer or winter?
- 23:12Speaker 4: Wait? What kind of milk?
- 23:14Speaker 5: Four? Oh no, that's impressive.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah, no, one doesn't.
- 23:17Speaker 5: You're an enigma.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Take your coffee automatic.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Since having a baby, well yeah, because I got freaked
- 23:23Speaker 5: out that I was having too much caffeine. So now
- 23:24Speaker 5: I just get them weak. But it means I have more.
- 23:27Speaker 7: So I think that I can have more coffees if
- 23:28Speaker 7: one they get one shot. But no, now I just
- 23:31Speaker 7: have you your eyes. I have probably yeah, three a
- 23:33Speaker 7: day now rather than too.
- 23:34Speaker 3: She's got baby brain. Everybody, all right, summer or winter
- 23:38Speaker 3: on the fens, you like.
- 23:41Speaker 2: What's your breakfast? Go to ooh eggs?
- 23:44Speaker 3: Who was your funniest teammatee?
- 23:46Speaker 2: Ooh oh, Well you're all funny. Yeah, everyone was funny.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I'm just trying to think.
- 23:52Speaker 4: That's not an answer, it's it's a thirty's answer.
- 23:56Speaker 3: God, we're doing baby browing cops.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Is menopause growing? It's funny mass.
- 24:01Speaker 3: You okay, tomato sauce in the fridge or the cupboard,
- 24:04Speaker 3: Oh fridge, favorite sport that's not their poor rugby. Favorite
- 24:10Speaker 3: holiday destination?
- 24:11Speaker 2: Oh beach anyway, beach. I can't don't have to narrow
- 24:15Speaker 2: down the.
- 24:16Speaker 3: No, what do you do on a plane?
- 24:17Speaker 2: I used to knitch until they band knitting needles?
- 24:22Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 24:22Speaker 2: True, yeah, but now probably read or watch a movie.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Can you take those bendy knitting needles?
- 24:29Speaker 5: Or is it the beating? Who's going to hijack a
- 24:33Speaker 5: plane with ales? Some but you're not gonna be able
- 24:37Speaker 5: to fight off a knitting needle. I'm worried about.
- 24:41Speaker 3: It's crazy. Okay, God, I shouldn't say these things. These
- 24:44Speaker 3: things happened to me after we talk about.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Well, can you just say winning lotto or something?
- 24:48Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 24:49Speaker 2: Okay, what are you binging right now?
- 24:51Speaker 4: Ummm no, I do.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I do watch a lot of Telly. You know what
- 24:54Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to? First December has to be first
- 24:57Speaker 2: December where you can watch all those crappy Christmas movie Sarah,
- 25:00Speaker 2: what the guy in the muddy?
- 25:02Speaker 3: What are you bringing right now?
- 25:04Speaker 5: We've just done an old one Happy Valley.
- 25:07Speaker 7: It's like a British like kind of cop show. It
- 25:10Speaker 7: was unrue and I also did All Her Fault. You
- 25:12Speaker 7: guys should watch that.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Oh that looks good. Yeah, amazing about the kid that
- 25:16Speaker 5: goes missing. Yes, yes, it's amazing.
- 25:19Speaker 3: It was.
- 25:19Speaker 7: Yeah, like we watched that in a few days and
- 25:21Speaker 7: everyone said you don't watch much TV when your parents.
- 25:23Speaker 5: I think we watched more. It's like, as soon as
- 25:25Speaker 5: she's in bent the Hinge, watch everything. Seriously, I'm writing
- 25:29Speaker 5: that down.
- 25:30Speaker 3: And yeah, the Christmas Chronicles the other day, you can
- 25:33Speaker 3: watch them in November.
- 25:34Speaker 5: No, no, you can't.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I for the first because they're terrible, because it's it's
- 25:38Speaker 2: bad enough watching you know, two weeks of it, but
- 25:41Speaker 2: they're awful. But quite often with Vicki and her cousin
- 25:45Speaker 2: the only week we go, oh this one's the worst,
- 25:47Speaker 2: and we send little reviews hilarious reviews of the The
- 25:50Speaker 2: Dolly Parton one was one of the worst last year.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Oh absolutely, I haven't said that right, And I'm going
- 25:54Speaker 2: to and I am watching The twelve? Have you ever
- 25:58Speaker 2: watched that on astraying suit?
- 25:59Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 26:00Speaker 3: Okay, now we'll get onto that.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Now, do you have any tattoos? No?
- 26:04Speaker 3: Have you got one with Lily on it? Yeah?
- 26:06Speaker 7: I've got a swift And Daniel got Lily actually, so
- 26:09Speaker 7: her birth month's Lily of the Valley, So he got one,
- 26:12Speaker 7: and then I chickened out, so I haven't got one yet.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Daniel worried he's going to forget her name.
- 26:17Speaker 5: I think I think that's a big He just has
- 26:18Speaker 5: a quick look down and then he remembers.
- 26:20Speaker 2: That's cute.
- 26:21Speaker 3: What's your favorite music genre?
- 26:23Speaker 2: Hills, God, a bit of everything. I'm like, I don't
- 26:27Speaker 2: really have a style. Okay, I'm a SKA.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Lads, have you changed ships?
- 26:33Speaker 2: Nice country in Western everybody's seen, and then.
- 26:36Speaker 7: Some Taylor Swift. I feel like I'm just more heavily
- 26:38Speaker 7: into Taylor Swift than ever these days.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Moved well and truly on from Harry's styles and cohort.
- 26:44Speaker 5: Now we'll still go back to them. That's all right, Lily.
- 26:46Speaker 5: We'll getting it in that education very soon.
- 26:49Speaker 2: One direction fan cheers.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Now this is all Lizella's question. She threw this in
- 26:52Speaker 3: and it's very important.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Though.
- 26:53Speaker 2: How do you eat your steak?
- 26:55Speaker 3: How is it cooked?
- 26:55Speaker 1: Me?
- 26:56Speaker 5: And ran?
- 26:56Speaker 4: Okay?
- 26:58Speaker 3: Se? Why hopox is not that bad?
