- 0:05Drama Darling Drama, Darling Drama Darling. Well, hello, welcome to a
- 0:21bonus episode of drama Darling joining me as Emily Emily Laurisis it gives you lemons
- 0:31Shannon's old thing, That's what it was, of course, poor Shannon Ohnon.
- 0:46Well, we are doing a bonus episode that is just coming out of
- 0:50left field. You guys probably didn't even see this coming a mile away because
- 0:53I never mentioned it. But guess what Emily and I are going to talk
- 0:56about today? A true Detective Night Country Season two, first two episodes.
- 1:00What yeah, spoilers ahead, spoilers two episodes, thank you? Yes,
- 1:06spoilers ahead for sure. And obviously the season hasn't finished. There are six
- 1:11episodes. Did you know that, Emily, I didn't. I'm glad that
- 1:15you told me that. Yeah. Oh wait, was I supposed to watch
- 1:19the two episodes? Oh yeah, Jamie, I know she was like I
- 1:23only watched three. I didn't. I didn't listen yet to the Traders,
- 1:32I love it, I know, and honestly that's not I gotta listen because
- 1:37I bet it's pretty great. Uh, this is the show from yesterday,
- 1:41because like trying to explain, you know, what happens is also entertaining,
- 1:46so I gotta listen. Yeah, and then we yeah, we really go
- 1:49a little we go left and right on this too. We go into a
- 1:52lot of little sidebars, which is which is fun. But uh so we're
- 1:57not gonna do news today. We'll pick up with that on Monday. And
- 2:02so True Detective is like if you've seen Emily, had you seen the first
- 2:12episode? I'm sorry seasons of True Detectives? Yeah, you know, but
- 2:15it's been so long. I mean, it's not that fresh. What's what
- 2:23my what I remember with the like the first season is the is it like
- 2:29a supernatural influence or is it like some weird I remember that with like Matthew
- 2:34McConaughey and the and the weird stick thing in the drum. Oh yes,
- 2:40yes. I want to go back and watch it though, because I've been
- 2:45reading in the threads or wherever that there might be a connection to that first
- 2:51season with this season. So I want to go back and maybe is it
- 2:54the symbol? Maybe I think it's the symbol. Yeah, that's fine.
- 3:04Imp Olympics where Emily and I both studied in Chicago and swirl a little swirl,
- 3:13yeah, which is very nineties coffee shop too. It's very like the
- 3:16Owen coffee would be that swirl. Yes, you're so right. And then
- 3:21like I recently used that emo. There's an emoji with eyes like that,
- 3:25which, oh, yes, of course it is going to be real popular
- 3:29on the True Detective season three text threads, I'm sorry what, yeah?
- 3:35Season is this season four? I'm sorry? So yeah, four? Like
- 3:39I did not watch season three, and it's been a long time since they've
- 3:43had a True Detective season. And just so everybody knows, every season is
- 3:47different. Okay, they're not connected at all. Yeah, like Fargo.
- 3:54Oh is that how Fargo is? Okay? Yeah, yeah, so they
- 3:58there's no through storyline. You don't pick up where you left off. It's
- 4:00a totally different towns, there, totally different characters. It's a totally different
- 4:03story. And so interestingly enough, from what I understand, I think that
- 4:11when this was actually shot, and I could be wrong, but I think
- 4:16it wasn't necessarily meant to originally be True Detective. I think it was like
- 4:23in the process of being shot and what have you, and then they slapped
- 4:27True Detective Night Country on it because they wanted that association. I read something
- 4:31different. Okay, well, yeah, and I could totally wrong. I
- 4:35read that the director Isa Lopez, I read that she had intended I think
- 4:45it might be Asa. I thought that she hadn't intended this to be a
- 4:47true detective and it was so wild and out there that she didn't think it
- 4:53could be. Because it's like so, so, then maybe that's what it
- 4:57is. Okay, well, the threads are talking regardless. It kind of
- 5:02reminded me of like what they tell potential Housewives shows when they're filming them that
- 5:11it's not real Housewives. It's like, you know, Oklahoma Sisters, you
- 5:15know what I mean. And then later with Utah, what they do with
- 5:19Utah. Yeah, and then the later they're like, it's gonna be a
- 5:24real Housewives. They're like, oh my god. When I found out that
- 5:27we were going to be, you know, a part of the franchise,
- 5:29you know, it's like that whole thing. So I just found that interesting.
- 5:32Now Night Country is because it's taking place in the most northern little town
- 5:43in Alaska, which is like one hundred and fifty miles north of the Arctic
- 5:46Circle, and this is it. It's a made up town. It's not
- 5:50a real town, but it's supposed to be the town that goes dark.
- 5:55You know, they have night for sixty days, which is obviously a real
- 5:58thing. Could you live there? God, No, I don't think I
- 6:02could do it, Emily, how about you? No, absolutely not,
- 6:06like not even for like gosh, I wonder if I could even go there
- 6:11for like a week of it. I don't. Yes, it's so disorienting
- 6:15watching the show to know what time of day it is. Truly, you
- 6:18forget that. You know, when they're bustling around in the town and they're
- 6:23moving about and it's dark, I'm like, oh, that's right, this
- 6:26is probably their daytime, this is their business day, and you know when
- 6:31I you know, then the names of the people I need to pull up
- 6:34like a cast list, because I need to remember who I'm talking about.
- 6:41The woman who was like kind of cutting open that elk or whatever hanging there
- 6:46when Travis appeared to from Harry Potter, Oh my god, I thought I
- 6:51recognize Missus Dursley. Oh my god, Petunia a way. Also the therapist
- 6:58from Fleabag. Also she's done a million things, but she's doing a Shaw
- 7:02as the actress. Oh my, Fiona Shaw, That's who it is.
- 7:05Okay, that's amazing. What an incredible actress when her dead husband appeared to
- 7:11her and the ice and Travis, Travis when he did that wild you know,
- 7:15like so you think you can dance sing out there in the ice?
- 7:19Which was you know, I mean, I need Mikey Minden on that choreography,
- 7:25you know, we need a little more. Must have been choreographed,
- 7:28and it must have been rehearsed to mean a couple of things. And then
- 7:31I thought about it, and I thought, well, maybe he's because then
- 7:35he like puts the snow on his face. So I was like, I
- 7:39wonder if he's recreating the symbol and then yes, I don't know what.
- 7:44Well, he went like this like up through and he opened his mouth like
- 7:46the tongue, you know, because there was the tongue missing, right,
- 7:50So I wonder if there are some hints in the crowd. There were one
- 7:54hundred hints pretty unhinged. It was unhinged. What do they call that dance?
- 8:01Uh, there's a modern not modern dance, impression dance dance, interpretive
- 8:16interpretive dance. That's essentially what that was. But if we want to go
- 8:22back to like merce Cunningham and have a Beverly Hills tie in. It was
- 8:26a little bit of Twila, you know what I mean, we were so
- 8:30I wonder if Mikey Minton had something to do with that at the end of
- 8:33the day. Anyway, that being said, that scene when she was like
- 8:39cutting open the elk or the caribou or the wolf, I don't know what
- 8:41it was. It was a wolf, Okay, the wolf? The wolf?
- 8:52Can you wait? Can you say wolf correctly? Hold on? No,
- 8:54I don't think I can. Oh my god, wolf, that's my
- 9:01Maryland. Oh my god. Anythink this is my newest favorite thing of twenty
- 9:07twenty four. I did not know eveuld Land. Here, you guys,
- 9:13Emily. The way that Marilyn says wolf doesn't have an ownment wolf wolf,
- 9:18a wolf in and you're wolf in the food down? Stop wolf in your
- 9:22food down, stop wolf from your food is yeah, I can't say it
- 9:26wrong. Yeah. There's certain words that I get a double take on,
- 9:33Like from Al I'll be like, oh, pull up here and like pull
- 9:39or pull. Yeah. But see what's interesting is that you're at like you're
- 9:43really accentuating l's in certain words, and then you're removing them from others,
- 9:46which I am fascinating as hell. Well, I think because I don't say
- 9:50wolf and wolf bluff, I can't even do it. It's like my friend
- 9:54my I have a British friend that can't say squirrel. They say schoel.
- 9:58Well, uh, it's like I make them say it all the time.
- 10:03Spell. Oh my god, this is great. Okay, So you think
- 10:07it was a wolf? Yeah, so you think you can wolf? So
- 10:11you think you can wolf? With Travis out there, I'm thinking like,
- 10:13was that technically daytime since she was working on that wolf or was it night
- 10:20because Travis came out and I don't think he's coming out during the day,
- 10:22but he could come out at any time. Yeah. Because it's disorienting.
- 10:26It's a horror movie, it is. So that's what's wild about this is
- 10:31that it is it's supernatural, and I wasn't expecting that. I mean,
- 10:35this is what I'm getting to too, is like I wonder if it is
- 10:39supernatural or if this world is just so chaotic that you know everybody and like
- 10:46it's so oh, you're so out in the middle of nowhere. It's so
- 10:52upside down from everything. So like things things feel, they makes they they're
- 10:58heightening weird circums stances. I mean, yeah, seeing your dead boyfriend or
- 11:05husband is supernatural, but I wonder if the actual murder is going to be
- 11:09grounded in reality. Right, it's just everything else fucks with your head,
- 11:15yes, and in the threads. And I don't want to get too deep
- 11:18into people's theories because there are some. And I did kind of look because
- 11:22I wanted to really kind of ground myself and what I was seeing, because
- 11:28it's a real mind trip. And when I started watching, I was like,
- 11:31cheez, Louise, I'm like, I haven't watched something like this in
- 11:33a really, really long time. I was scared inside. I was like,
- 11:37h yeah, I don't know. I'm watching this at night, like
- 11:39I'm kind of freaked out. I'm going to have bad dreams. And I
- 11:43watched one and two at the same time, and they are like sixty five
- 11:46minutes each because it is only six episodes, but that's because they're really tacking
- 11:52on all the minutes, so technically it probably would be eight. But the
- 11:56uh, the angle of it being supernatural to me is obviously clear at the
- 12:01beginning, but you're right, it could end up being in what some theories
- 12:05are saying, a level of people in the town hallucinating and having like psychosis
- 12:11on some level, like mass psychosis or mass hallucinations based on their circumstances of
- 12:18being in the dark or something in the water or lead in the water.
- 12:24Because we already know the water you can't drink, So when tell me about
- 12:28because I missed that. I mean I heard someone say something about the water
- 12:33at some point and I didn't write it down. What was that comment made
- 12:39about the water maybe being bad or something went wrong. I think it's something
- 12:43to do with whatever they're mining at the mine and at the research station.
- 12:50No, that's Oh, so the brother of anakay that yeah, the broad
- 12:56Navarro goes to visit, Yes, and he's like, we can't drink the
- 13:00water, and he makes some reference to because he and that guy with a
- 13:05fake Metallica poster on the wall that she later goes to visit just as metal.
- 13:09But it's the bar, the bartender, the guy with the gray hair
- 13:15and the must or does he have a mustache? He has gray hair to
- 13:20like, Oh, the bad guy, like the racist guy against indigenous people.
- 13:24Yes, okay, and he so she goes to visit him in his
- 13:28like room for the mining, Yes, and that's where they have the bad
- 13:35weird posters. But he is I don't, I forget where I'm going with
- 13:41this, but he also works at the mine, okay, and he's Anyway,
- 13:46they there's something going wrong at that mine, which is also why that
- 13:50anna Ka woman was murdered because of the choices the mine was making, and
- 13:56so because she was why she was in that trailer, because she was fighting
- 14:03the mine on something. She was protesting against what was going on at the
- 14:07mine. Okay, God right, that's my takeaway. I'm not totally sure,
- 14:11but anyway, it seems that now there's issues with the water. Okay,
- 14:16yes, so there's something going on with the water. There's that research
- 14:20station where obviously all of these researchers, researchers, researchers mysteriously they had some
- 14:28weird things going on at their you know, and where they're studying. They
- 14:33leave, they get frozen in the ice altogether, to which Jodie Foster calls
- 14:39that thing a did you catch it? A corp? I know? Yeah,
- 14:48So they go and they're like stuck in the in the in the ice,
- 14:52and then they have to you know, thaw them out in the ice
- 14:54drink and blah blah blah. But and now these two caught, well the
- 15:00trooper has to now it's Jody Foster's character, and so it's Navarro and is
- 15:07it Danner? Wait? What is Jody Fopers? Danvers and Navarro are going
- 15:13to now finally team up on breaking this case because it's connected. But we
- 15:18don't need to explain this to you because if you've watched it, you've watched
- 15:20it. But so let me just start at the beginning with the the those
- 15:28Elk or those caribou when it's the last sunset and then they're all freaking out
- 15:33and then they jump off the cliff and die. They're like it's like,
- 15:37yeah, they all like Matt the suicide mission from these Elk and the cg
- 15:43like they were very cgied and it was very weird. I was like,
- 15:48what is happening? Did you did you catch that? I it was a
- 15:52little polar express Yes, very polar because that's exactly that you nailed it.
- 15:56That is exactly what it looked like. And it really me off. Yeah,
- 16:02but then I don't know, I think like this. I did watch
- 16:06that beginning a second time and it didn't bother me as it wasn't as jarring,
- 16:10but I was also like, I don't know how else they could do
- 16:12that. Yeah, and then I also don't know. It was a very
- 16:17cool open but I don't know to what end. I guess we'll just have
- 16:21to wait and see. But I do think the overall message here is like
- 16:26that land is protecting like the thing that could like whatever that natural, you
- 16:34know, because the Salah Salala lab remember the teacher says, we have they
- 16:42were discovering something that could like basically save humanity. Yeah, and so maybe
- 16:48the land doesn't want that, and so I don't know if that's going to
- 16:52tie in. I don't know why the elks all had to die, the
- 16:57computer elks, the computer ol had to die because they were horribly created.
- 17:04We had to sacrifice those those elk those elkuy Like. It was a weird
- 17:11start and I was like, what are we getting into? But okay,
- 17:15and then the I love the idea of them being in the dark. I
- 17:21mean, it's so creepy. And and then also you know they have eighty
- 17:26days of daylight in the summertime. Yeah, that's bonkers. It is bonkers.
- 17:33I have been in like they are parts of the world. Where there's
- 17:38very little night time for like a day or two, and it's that's equally
- 17:44disorienting. But I'd rather do that. By the way, could you live
- 17:49in that Salala lap? I thought about that. Yeah, and I would
- 17:56say I have a better chance of living in that lab during for two months,
- 18:03during this dark time, then I would if I had my own house.
- 18:07I would almost rather just live there, like in a bunker and not
- 18:10leave and not be aware of it being dark. Yeah, I would have
- 18:14a better chance down there or in there than I would anywhere else. But
- 18:21that was tough. What it feels like. It feels like they're on a
- 18:25like they're on a space mission. Yeah, and so I'm like, well,
- 18:30it's a cool spaceship. I could live there better than I could.
- 18:33Like, I also watch for All Mankind and they live on Mars, and
- 18:36I'm like, I could spoiler alert, there's an idea that they might live
- 18:42on Mars, and that idea would not be fun for me. Okay,
- 18:48but yeah, I don't know, I don't know. Yeah, that was
- 18:51tough. Like I was like, Okay, there's these big the long hallways.
- 18:53It looks like pretty spacious, But then they were in that laundry room,
- 18:57and then they're up at each other and it just felt like a little
- 19:00too below decky in terms of like, yeah, you know, being claustrophobic.
- 19:06Did you pick up on all the weird Chicago things in there? First
- 19:10of all, all the coloring is cooler. Okay, well Ferris Bueller,
- 19:12not just Ferrish Bueller, but the downtown What looks like the most iconically fun
- 19:18scene to have ever shot is the downtown twist and shout yes scene on repeat,
- 19:25and then the Solala inside it's all orange and blue, which is Bears,
- 19:30and then like the things that they hone in on are like there's like
- 19:33a Wilco shirt. I'm like, what is So then I was like,
- 19:37did have a Wilco shirt? Yes? So, like I I was like,
- 19:40okay, this is too many. Maybe i'll give you The orange and
- 19:42blue was just but the Ferris Bueller thing and the Wilco shirt, I'm like,
- 19:47yeah, so I'm curious about all that. And then these are little
- 19:51easter eggs. Yeah. But but because I was like, maybe the director
- 19:55is just a fan, and then I looked her up in terms of like
- 19:56what and I don't think she's a I don't think She's like, yeah,
- 20:02she's from Mexico, and like, I just don't. I mean, nothing
- 20:06about what I read seems to be Chicago. But maybe I'm wrong. It
- 20:11could just be a coincidence. I mean, also, the Wilco shirt is
- 20:15not just a Wilco shirt. It has the Chicago flag on it. It's
- 20:19good. Yeah, well, there's got to be something there. There's got
- 20:22to be something. Yeah. That tongue that was found was really disturbing.
- 20:30And to find out that it is Annie Kay, which we don't know yet.
- 20:36Yeah, I thought we did, which is why Jodie Foster showed up
- 20:38at Navarrosen was like, you put your cans. I guess we're going to
- 20:42turn up you know, right, I thought it was the results of that.
- 20:47Yet I thought that they got the dam well, I mean, I
- 20:52think it's heavily implied that it's her, Okay, but I'm not. Maybe
- 20:56maybe maybe that's why she showed up because she's like, see, this is
- 21:03why this is your case now and it's my case. We have to do
- 21:06this together. You can close yours and I can close mine. Because they
- 21:07got the test back from the tongue. Oh okay, I missed that,
- 21:12Okay, God. I mean I could be wrong, but that's what that
- 21:17scene meant. I thought. So now they're teamed up. Okay, well,
- 21:22well you know to TBD. Yeah, because what happened first? Did
- 21:32they go to that trailer? That trailer that was very as a hell?
- 21:37Yeah, so mummied body in there? That's what I'm trying to figure out.
- 21:44Yeah, because she like, so is it detective Dan dan Verse?
- 21:49She's a detective right? Okay, so she's a true true not country.
- 21:57No, I'm turning her under like Kermit the Frog and yeah, she not
- 22:03too, just all of them. But she well she's getting close. She
- 22:11just came out with a new jam, which we'll we'll discuss that on Monday.
- 22:14But anyway, she was home, you know, and that's one hell
- 22:19of a color printer she's got, I gotta tell you no shit. First
- 22:23of all, I was like, is this kind of some kind of special
- 22:27detective color printer where you don't have to reload color ever between one photo?
- 22:36Yeah? I mean that was a lot of color photos and she had a
- 22:38whole floor full of them, and I was like, this is impressive.
- 22:42Can I get that printer? Is that? You know? What is this
- 22:45available? Can you can you put a link in bio for me, because
- 22:49this is one hell of a printer. Who's yeah, I know that small
- 22:52town can't pay for that ink, So who's paying for this? Yeah?
- 22:56No, I think she's tapped into the natural resource. It's ink. That's
- 23:02the thing that they're mining. They have to be. I mean that the
- 23:10indigenous people you know of are are mad because they're they're mining all of their
- 23:15color from the earth for her photos. We figured it out, but uh,
- 23:22oh no, I forgot. I was gonna say, oh, well,
- 23:25oh the mamma fied body. Yes, she was discovering this crazy writing
- 23:30and like stick figure drawing and like all this fucking nuts stuff that people are
- 23:33scribbling. She had pictures of something. And then and then we went to
- 23:37that r V where Navarro got a tip about that place because the guy metallic
- 23:47photo. Yeah. She took the photo to that guy. Yeah, and
- 23:51he was like, well fine, Mattel, and he's like, fine,
- 23:55there was an RV ten years ago. He bought it. And then she
- 23:59goes and and I'm thinking this is where again, I'm like, is it
- 24:02daytime? This sucks for them. They've got to do their research during the
- 24:04day and it's freaky as hell, and they go into this RV and all
- 24:08this stuff is hanging down. Kind of reminded me of True Detective season one
- 24:12because of all the stick figures hanging Yeah yeah, yeah, right, So
- 24:18that was an interesting thing. And then they finally find that. What I
- 24:21was like, is this a stuffed body or is it a real body?
- 24:25Because I think if it's frozen, it wouldn't smell obviously, but if it
- 24:30so, that's probably why they were like, oh my god, it smells
- 24:33so bad because that was would be the first, you know, reaction to
- 24:37a dead body. But if it's preserved, I assume there's really not a
- 24:45smell. I mean, I guess, like it's how you. I guess
- 24:48it's all in the mummification of it. I don't know enough about that to
- 24:52know. I feel like, at first glance though, I thought it was
- 24:57just a dummy like yeah prop but like uh yeah, like like I thought,
- 25:04like not it was supposed to just be something to mislead. Yes,
- 25:10yes, but they didn't really hang on it too long. They sure didn't,
- 25:15so I don't know, because it was like they're always getting calls in
- 25:18the middle of the most intense moments arresting people finding dead bodies like well,
- 25:22but it seems to be anytime the ANIK thing comes up, there's a distraction,
- 25:27either the phone cuts out or they they get pulled in a totally different
- 25:33direction. It's any time like they're getting close on the ANIK thing, that's
- 25:37when they get pulled away. So when we've heard this phrase from all of
- 25:42the people that are getting affected by this phenomenon, whatever it is. We
- 25:48heard the first researcher who was in the background of that like video TikTok video
- 25:55that that guy was making where he turns and he's like, she's awake.
- 25:57Yeah, And then we hear it again in the car where Navarro is about
- 26:03to see the polar bear in the streets and with the eye. The polar
- 26:07bear is missing an eye. Polar bear is missing an eye. We've got
- 26:11that polar bear stuffy of Jodie Foster's. We have the flashback of her with
- 26:15a with a child. Yeah, I think it's her son's polar bear.
- 26:19But who is her son? We haven't We don't die, Okay, there's
- 26:23some because that's not her I think she I don't think that that is her
- 26:27biological daughter. Okay, the impression that she's raised. I wonder daughter she's
- 26:34not a fan of the indigenous culture living in this town and says, do
- 26:40you want to say that? Like Jody's Foster, Jodie Foster's character is so
- 26:47interesting and it is so good. It's really layered because every time you think
- 26:52that, yeah, she's like really like she gives you little things that like,
- 26:55you know, she's she's a pretty good person, and then she's just
- 27:00the fucking asshole. Oh she called that woman a laundry at grandma. Yeah,
- 27:07also a woman to her face seems in everyone's husband in the town.
- 27:11Oh my god. I mean it's it is and it is kind of laid
- 27:15on, pretty thick, you know what I mean, Like, yeah,
- 27:18I you know, the writing is. Whatever the writing is, it's fine,
- 27:22but like it is interesting to get these shoehorn things in there. Where's
- 27:26Okay, we get it. You're this slutty detective who doesn't care, hard
- 27:30ass kind of heart of gold, wants to get to the truth. But
- 27:33I don't even know if she does have a heart of gold. Yeah,
- 27:37maybe I leave that's like an ego. Yeah, I think she's an ego
- 27:41of gold. And also somehow needing to prove something and also can't needs to
- 27:47get away from herself because I think whatever happened, Yeah, her son died
- 27:52and the boyfriend or her first husband who's the her current daughter or dad mm
- 28:00hm is also dead. So something went on that she's running away from mentally
- 28:06too right. Yeah yeah, so I mean, which is perfect for True
- 28:11Detective. You if you're gonna be a true detective, you got to have
- 28:15a lot of like skeletons and pain in your past or else it's you're never
- 28:21gonna survive True Detective series. Yeah, True Detective nice. Also, like,
- 28:30of one thing that I to your point about, maybe some things are
- 28:33a little shoehorned in the other thing that made me a little nuts is the
- 28:37thing that they do sometimes with blocking where she's talking to the teacher in the
- 28:42classroom in a totally normal way and he's sitting he gets that I noticed that
- 28:47too, No, can't finish it, and he gets up to as he's
- 28:52making a point and sits in front of her on the le so on the
- 28:57desk in front of her, like like so close, and with his dick
- 29:03in her face, and they're acting like this is totally normal. Blocking,
- 29:07and this is how totally normal conversations would go. And it wasn't sexual,
- 29:12it was just weird blocking for no reason. I did they think this shot
- 29:17was going too long without movement. I'm just like, this is not annoy
- 29:21If that happened, I would scoot my chair back so fast, Like even
- 29:25though they had a history. Maybe they were show trying to show that she's
- 29:27so comfortable with him, but I was like, this is so weird that
- 29:33we are to think this is just normal conversation. I am so glad that
- 29:37you brought that up, because that stuck out, not like a sore thumb,
- 29:41like a tongue on the ground of a research facility in Alaska, Like
- 29:45that stuck out. And not only did it stick out, but it also
- 29:51grabbed my attention because his movement to get to his mark was clumsy and he
- 29:56almost fell like he tripped. Yeah, it was, and he continued and
- 30:03there was no motivation as an actor for him to do that, And so
- 30:07I'm thinking he wanted to make a bigger moment of it, and I'm thinking
- 30:11it was an actor's choice and they left it in. That's what I think.
- 30:15I think he made that choice for himself. And he was like,
- 30:18I'm feeling this organic moment. I'm gonna come over here. I'm gonna make
- 30:21my point. And you know, I don't know his history as a well.
- 30:26They would have them do it again, but maybe they like didn't have
- 30:29time, and you know, I mean, it was a clumsy move.
- 30:33It was weird, and I'm glad that they were being so bizarre. It
- 30:36was awful. It was awful. I literally, like out loud, was
- 30:40like, what, yeah, I know. I'm so glad we're on the
- 30:44same page. God bless you, because I was like, this is so
- 30:48fucking weird. This is weirder than the guys like leaving the facility and having
- 30:53their clothes found separately and naked being in a corpsicle like this is more odd
- 30:59to me. You know what though, with that, they said they said
- 31:03the term the hypothermia, the pair of They kind of wrote it down.
- 31:07That's legit. When you go nuts in hypothermia, that you get your body
- 31:12temperature goes so high, you become the hottest you've ever been, and you
- 31:17start taking your clothes off to cool off, and then you die. It's
- 31:22the last stretch of that. So I I Oftentimes people are found like that
- 31:30when they've reached that moment. Wow. Yeah. So I was like glad
- 31:36that they kind of said it a little bit. Okay, So when they're
- 31:40still out there and they found these this corpsicle and they're like, you know,
- 31:47brushing them off, trying to do the work that they need to do,
- 31:49the forensic work when they don't have a forensic expert, and one of
- 31:55the guys like fumbles and breaks off off a hand of one of the researchers.
- 32:01Oh my god, how are we just now getting to that? Yeah?
- 32:06Okay, And then I thought he was rigged with explosives. I didn't
- 32:10even realize he was alive at first, and I had to go back and
- 32:14I was like, oh my god, he's alive. He was alive,
- 32:16and he's screamed. It was like so disturbing and so scary. And so
- 32:22now they took that one guy and now he's in a coma in the hospital.
- 32:28So he's still alive with his fuck with his hand off and broken bone
- 32:34exposed. They're like, oh, we have to decapitate his leg because it's
- 32:37not gonna make it. I'm like, you think, I think all his
- 32:40extremities are gonna need to go how is he still alive? Emily? Do
- 32:47you decapitate a leg or amputatee decapitate? Sorry, I just wanted to make
- 32:55sure that wasn't something that I didn't know. No, thank you the darling.
- 33:00They're probably really a hard eye roll. Oh there goes our bitch wife
- 33:04again, not getting words right, poor baby amputate Thank you so now.
- 33:12But that's that's the guy. I mean, you know, eyes on him.
- 33:16He's going to bring it full circle and he's going to have to become
- 33:22awake at some point. Yeah, or he's just going to be so out
- 33:28to lunch that he's going to be saying just streams of conscious that we're going
- 33:32to think means something, but they don't. Right, He's just gonna be
- 33:36like, she's awake, she's awake, you know, the Cariboo, the
- 33:40Cliff. He's just gonna be saying, Chicago. He's gonna be saying all
- 33:44the things you think. Well, the you know, I had to think
- 33:51like, oh, it was the researchers that killed Annie Kay. You know
- 33:54that's what made me think like it was this group of men that killed her,
- 33:59that did that horrific murder, and so that's why they're the ones that
- 34:04are being sacrificed in this way and being taken to task because they were so
- 34:09isolated or you know, I don't know what, but one of the guys,
- 34:13what's the Clark guy, the guy that's missing, Oh, Raymond Clark.
- 34:17Okay, so when they're when they are frosting, so all right,
- 34:22so that when they're defrosting the corpsicle, the guy with the tattoo whose picture
- 34:29he's wearing the same coat as Anna kay and we know it because there was
- 34:32a rip in it. But then he has a patch over that same part.
- 34:37Right, So then so he's the one who escaped from the ice drink.
- 34:42Yes, okay, he's the one that's missing. Oh my god.
- 34:45Oh, by the trailer, he's the one. Oh, he's the one
- 34:50with the trailer. What right, he's the one in the photo. He's
- 34:54the one with the trailer, and he's the research facility. Yeah, he's
- 35:00the one. And then she he's I think they said he was the only
- 35:02one with his own room, and he was the one that was crying,
- 35:07like when the cleaning lady was like he was crying. I heard him crying.
- 35:09Same guy, or maybe it was somebody that I don't remember. But
- 35:14yeah, well this is we have to wrap. But so far, so
- 35:19good. Are you liking it? I'm loving it? Okay, great,
- 35:23love love it. I love it too. It was there. I definitely
- 35:27have some issues. I'm like, Navara, why are you so obsessed with
- 35:29this one murder? Like, let's you know, like, yeah, you
- 35:32know, there are some things that are a little too far fetched or yeah,
- 35:37and here's a little nugget for you darlings, real quick before we take
- 35:40off Navarro's piercings, her cheek piercings. I looked up that in the Inuit
- 35:45culture, this is from when they would be seal hunting and they would pierce
- 35:51their cheeks and pop their like so that other seals would think that those were
- 35:55like indentations for whiskers. So it's a tactic that they would use for seal
- 36:00hunting. I don't know if this is true. This is from Evolved Body
- 36:05art dot com, but that that's where the origins of those piercings come from.
- 36:08That is so fascinating. I am so glad you said that, and
- 36:14I love at the end they have that like message on the screen. It's
- 36:19like, if you want to learn more about indigenous cultures, and things like
- 36:22that, go here, go there, go everywhere. But I do love
- 36:27the lean into into Inuit. I don't know all of the the correct names
- 36:35for the cultures that live in the Arctic region, but Inuit would be I
- 36:39guess a broader term, right. And then, but I also noticed that
- 36:45she has like real it looks like she's got real dimples under there. There
- 36:49dimple piercings, that's what those are called. So it creates the dimples so
- 36:54that seals would think that they were where their whiskers would pop, so they
- 36:59would just see the shape and think like that that was It was like mild.
- 37:04Yeah, it was a way to trick the seals. But I mean,
- 37:07yeah, I don't know, I'm on their chin and then their face,
- 37:10like that's all interesting. Yeah, they all do. I don't know
- 37:15the meaning of all of the origin, but that I was like, there's
- 37:19got to be a reason for the I didn't know that. I'm glad you
- 37:22looked it up. I just thought that she was just a bad ass and
- 37:25was like and was like, I don't like my dimples because they make me
- 37:28look too cute, and so to get rid of them, I'm gonna put
- 37:30piercings in them. That's like what I'm thinking. Nope, not at all,
- 37:36Okay, nope, And I don't think she's necessarily a seal hunter.
- 37:38But that's what that that's what that means. Very cool, very exciting.
- 37:44Jody Foster, What a badass bitch, what a character. Looking forward to
- 37:49hearing more of your Jody Foster impression, Emily and hearing you say we cool.
