- 1:11You need with the to true stories real life.
- 1:14Stories one is from me and one is from my cousin but it's me
- 1:18telling both sorry. So, here we go.
- 1:20Hope you enjoy. Okay, so basically I wanted to
- 1:30go over something that I feel is super important that everyone
- 1:33needs to know this story because it's super, super good.
- 1:37So, I'm going to tell you two stories.
- 1:38First story is about my cousin John.
- 1:41So I have a cousin called John and he was 69 years old at the
- 1:45time. And so, this is the story, this
- 1:47is how to be motivated and how we've nobody can have any
- 1:50excuses and just super, get more of it.
- 1:52So my cousin John has been A body builder for years when he
- 1:57was younger up in terms of, he was about maybe 20, it was a
- 2:01bodybuilder, he'd go around and he'd he'd try and competitions
- 2:03locally. Never got really any bigger than
- 2:06being like a local competition, or maybe even like a national
- 2:08one, but just in Wales, not the UK, not in Europe and certainly
- 2:11not in the world, and he did, okay.
- 2:14But then his life to go, you know, he got had kids and he got
- 2:17like a normal job. And then he spent his time with
- 2:20his family and making sure his family were taken care of and
- 2:23any, he's been working as, you know Butt off to make sure they
- 2:26have a lovely house and all these things.
- 2:28And it was really cool. He's a nice guy and he just
- 2:31forgot all about bodybuilding and ever did it but his dream
- 2:33when he was a kid. And I spoke to his brother about
- 2:35it, which is another cousin of mine.
- 2:36He said that he always wanted to be a world-class bodybuilder,
- 2:39right? He wanted to be the world
- 2:40champion bodybuilder and you want to be number one.
- 2:43It was crazy because, I mean, that's a crazy.
- 2:45Golf anyone wants to be, you know, number one in the world.
- 2:47There's a lot of effort to go in there, so giving up at 20 years
- 2:50old, he figured he'd never be a bodybuilder ever again.
- 2:53So when he was 90 decided that he wanted to get back into
- 2:58bodybuilding. So I noticed I'd seen him around
- 3:00you know you behind like protein shakes and stuff like that and
- 3:02so he started bodybuilding and he was super old, you know, he
- 3:05hadn't fully built for 30, 40 years or whatever and he was, he
- 3:09was, you know, super out shape. So he decided that he wanted to
- 3:14to body build. So he started working out and
- 3:16really going for it and cutting and do all these things and
- 3:19being really, you know, athletic and doing all these things and
- 3:23he worked nights, right? So it's really difficult.
- 3:25To lose weight. And to build muscle, you need to
- 3:27be awake during the day and sleep at night, right?
- 3:29But he was working nights. So he was having to go to the
- 3:32gym after finished working early hours in the morning and then do
- 3:35it as much as you could in kind of like daylight if that makes
- 3:37sense. So it was a really, really hard
- 3:39task but he never gave up right? You have this gold he's like I
- 3:42want to be a world-class bodybuilder.
- 3:43So okay, okay so he worked out, he worked out and he had a local
- 3:46competition and he went right. Local competition.
- 3:48Okay, cool. You know, 69 year old guy,
- 3:51wintle competition, great. So then he enters into the
- 3:53national competitions. Sorry, sorry he is into the
- 3:56British competitions and he wins the bridge competition, right?
- 3:59Which is crazy. And then he goes for the
- 4:02national ones which is like all of the European countries as
- 4:08well. I think I don't know why they
- 4:09call it that, but it's like a national kind of European one
- 4:12and he goes to that and uh, no no sorry, sorry.
- 4:16Okay, so the two parts of the British one and then there's a
- 4:18national team in division one he goes to the National one and
- 4:21then he went to the National one as well, which then gives him a
- 4:23ticket to go to try out for the European one.
- 4:26Now when he says the European one he fails.
- 4:30He fails he doesn't get it comes in second place in the European
- 4:32one and what would happen if he won the European one?
- 4:34Then he would have been eligible for going into the world one and
- 4:38the world one was held in Florida that yet.
- 4:40So he didn't get the the you know he didn't get the ticket
- 4:43didn't win the European one and didn't get it.
- 4:46Now when he was when he lost he said I'm not going to do it
- 4:48again. I wanted to give it this one
- 4:50year and try to be you know world-class bodybuilder but
- 4:53hopefully that'll be it. Failed.
- 4:56So then he M de not forgotten, you know, Christmas came and
- 4:59not, and then he decided he's like, no January, I'm 70 years
- 5:02old, I'm gonna be, he said, he said to me said, I'm gonna be it
- 5:06will cost money, but I'm gonna be number one and I looked at
- 5:08her and I said, you know, you can do it, do it, man.
- 5:10Do I love people trying to do their passions and do their
- 5:12dreams, so he's like, I'm gonna do it.
- 5:14So, okay, do it. So then he this guy's my hero,
- 5:18right? This is why Sony tried and tried
- 5:20and tried, but he gain the gain, engage in each.
- 5:22He currently worked out. He built himself.
- 5:24So he went along. Chuckles then he won the British
- 5:28ones, then he won the national one.
- 5:31Then he won the the EU one, which is a European one.
- 5:34And then he got his ticket to go to the world.
- 5:37Her competitions in Florida like he's competing in the world
- 5:41bodybuilding contest, and it was last year and he said to me, I
- 5:45seen him when he was, he didn't know how he was going to do it
- 5:47and have to kind of, I didn't know this.
- 5:49You have to pay for all of your, your flight and you hotels and
- 5:54stuff like That because if you haven't won in the, they're not
- 5:58going to pay for you to know, you know, to do all the stuff so
- 6:00you have to kind of stuff. And it also, I seen him when he
- 6:03was shopping and Tesla which is a local store here in the UK.
- 6:07And I went over to when I set some, hey, John, how you doing?
- 6:09And he said, look, I'm raising money because I really want to
- 6:11go and I can't afford all the flights I said.
- 6:13Okay, cool. So I donated some money to his
- 6:16cause I'm really promoted it. You know, this is this is
- 6:20interesting, is the guy who's giving it his all, he's 70 years
- 6:22old. Super inspirational for anybody
- 6:24who wants to kind of doing anything and I thought look, if
- 6:27I don't support him then who am I?
- 6:28You know. So, I supported him.
- 6:29I gave you some money and we managed to raise enough from to
- 6:32go with this is this is causes Pinnacle for get him there.
- 6:35So he gets all the stuff together and I remember seeing
- 6:39before he went I said to him John you know what?
- 6:40Are you nervous? He goes no I'm not nervous.
- 6:43I said why inside look money doesn't motivate me so I'm not
- 6:46motivated by the money aspect of winning a competition like this
- 6:48but I'm motivated by the fact that I can challenge myself
- 6:50because I didn't do it last year and I want to win and I A
- 6:53winning. Look at me dead in the face.
- 6:54It goes, I am going to win this and I'm going to become a world
- 6:57champion bodybuilder side, okay? John that you know, the entire
- 7:00time in the Family behind you, let's do it.
- 7:01So off. He goes, he flies to Florida and
- 7:04we're watching on Facebook live, right?
- 7:07He goes on and he does his thing.
- 7:08And then these huge guys come out, you know, these competing
- 7:10against everybody from around the world in his category,
- 7:13right? And then they announced the
- 7:16winner and, oh, my goodness. He wins the slot.
- 7:20He is the number one bodybuilder.
- 7:22His name is John Moore, And Jones, and you can check it out,
- 7:24world champion, body builder, John Robin Yount, and he just
- 7:29and everyone doesn't know. My name is Daniel M Jones.
- 7:31If you seen on anything and that the time some fun moments.
- 7:33His name is John Morgan, Jones 11, Daniel Morgan Jones and and
- 7:36he wins this tough spot. I couldn't believe it.
- 7:38I just like the determination and I was outrageous and I
- 7:41thought this is a guy who knew exactly what I wanted to do you
- 7:44exactly how he's going to do it and he didn't give up.
- 7:47So if he'd given up and up at the age of 69 that he would have
- 7:50just failed you to fail. Miserably, you would have said
- 7:51okay this is me. I'm done.
- 7:54I'm giving up nothing and even lost that chance, but he stuck
- 7:57at it and he did it again. Now, this to me is a classic
- 8:02example of something. I always say, there's no such
- 8:04thing as failure, there is only learning capability.
- 8:06So if you try something out and it fails, then you go.
- 8:09Okay, that path clearly doesn't work, I'll do something else.
- 8:12You should never give up on a goal because it fails.
- 8:15If you fail on the first hurdle, most people do like, 90% of
- 8:17people going to film the first Turtle.
- 8:19It's very rare that you'll just kind of become an overnight
- 8:20success in anything you do. So we have to stick our stick.
- 8:23It out, stick at it, do your goals and be the best person you
- 8:27can be. Now the same with me, right?
- 8:29I want to talk to you. This is a small story.
- 8:31It's not extravagant as John's but basically I'm dyslexic and I
- 8:35never in a million years thought I'd ever be able to have a book
- 8:38out but I'm dyslexic and I want to have a book out and now I'm
- 8:41an international best-selling author, my books out in three
- 8:43languages on audio CD and on Kindle and and it was just
- 8:48amazing feeling to have a book out that I'd written.
- 8:51And I ever came by finding a Go straight it you know, so there's
- 8:55I'm dyslexic with my Ghost Rider isn't, you know, she's a
- 8:57professional writer. So there's ways around doing
- 9:00everything and overcoming stuff, not never ever doubt yourself
- 9:03because you are able to do it because you are awesome.
- 9:05And just like, John, he failed, and he got up and he did it, and
- 9:09he absolutely nailed it. So remember, hit those goals,
- 9:12don't give up. This is awesome.
- 9:25So that was a podcast, guys. If you enjoyed it, please give
