Speaker 2: verse seven. And as we know, the apostle Paul is traveling.

Speaker 2: He's going from city to city. He had a chance

Speaker 2: to kick it in ephesis for a while until they

Speaker 2: rose up against him. He had to flee that area.

Speaker 2: And Paul is gaining traveling companions. I know how it

Speaker 2: is when you leak up with people who are on

Speaker 2: So now Paul is getting ready to leave the scene,

Speaker 2: and he's got some messages. He's got his heart he

Speaker 2: wants to share before he depart. And so that's where

Speaker 2: we are at in verse seven. Now on the first

Speaker 2: day of the week. Now, notice the first day right here,

Speaker 2: when the disciples came together to break bread. Paul, ready

Speaker 2: to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued

Speaker 2: this message until midnight. Now this shows that the early

Speaker 2: church gathered on Sunday, the first day of the week. Now,

Speaker 2: they gathered to break bread and to study the word.

Speaker 2: Now Paul knew that he was leaving, so he wanted

Speaker 2: to depart, and not depart, but pour out everything. He

Speaker 2: just wanted to empty himself. And our pastor says a

Speaker 2: lot at church that when you come and minister, unpack everything,

Speaker 2: empty yourself and deliver everything that God has given you

Speaker 2: to deliver. Even talks about the rapture, and he says,

Speaker 2: some of us are going to be too heavy for

Speaker 2: the rapture because we have not unpacked everything that God

Speaker 2: has given us. God has put in us businesses and

Speaker 2: visions and creativity, and we need to make sure that

Speaker 2: we unload everything. We complete our assignment that should be

Speaker 2: on our prayer list to our assignment before we leave

Speaker 2: Back then, the people weren't rushing out the door right

Speaker 2: for work the next day. But in this situation, they stayed.

Speaker 2: They didn't tell apostle to keep it under thirty minutes.

Speaker 2: They stayed and heard the word until midnight. Now that

Speaker 2: tells something right here, that tells you when you're hungry

Speaker 2: for God, time does not matter. And I will say

Speaker 2: always says, when the Holy Spirit is working, why stop,

Speaker 2: think about it. We're out in the world twenty four

Speaker 2: to seven and we want to give God one day

Speaker 2: and give them what thirty minutes? If that nah, that's

Speaker 2: say there were many lamps in the upper room where

Speaker 2: they were gathered together. Now the lamps would have produced

Speaker 2: conditions can affect us spiritually. We can be affected by

Speaker 2: our natural surroundings. Sometimes. Sometimes we need to get our rests,

Speaker 2: we need to exercise, we need to eat well. That's

Speaker 2: why we've got to fight to stay alert. When the

Speaker 2: word of God is going forth, we gotta sometimes shake

Speaker 2: ourselves out of it. Right, it's easy to fall asleep.

Speaker 2: It's easy to get distracted. Yeah. Verse nine, and in

Speaker 2: the window set a certain young man name Utucus okay,

Speaker 2: I got that right, who was sinking into deep sleep.

Speaker 2: He was overcome by sleep, and as Paul continued speaking,

Speaker 2: he fell down from the third story and was taken

Speaker 2: up dead. Now Eudicus represents someone physically present but not

Speaker 2: spiritually engaged. Now his position in the window between inside

Speaker 2: of the Lord is. Amen. But here's the thing. By

Speaker 2: Verse eleven. Now, when he had come up, had broken

Speaker 2: he departed. I bet he paid attention. Now, right, he

Speaker 2: a serious, a literal resurrection. Here Paul goes right back

Speaker 2: to preaching and teaching the word. The Word remains central.

Speaker 2: of God is a lamp to our feet in a
