Former Judge Pleads Guilty in Child Porn Case | Charleston News
Former Charleston judge James Gosnell Junior has pleaded guilty to two serious charges of possessing and distributing child pornography involving a prepubescent minor, avoiding four other counts through a plea deal. Arrested in September 2025 after a federal tip, Gosnell claimed he never touched a child or intended harm, but prosecutors called his actions “pure evil.” His case follows a similar plea from John Badger Thorpe, arrested alongside him and also charged with sharing illegal content.
