- Lucas: Ciao, Luna! Welcome back to Learn Italian with Fexingo. Luna: Ciao, Lucas! Ready for another episode. What's today's story? Lucas: Today I'm going to tell you a tiny story. All the Italian in it is stuff we've already learned. So you can just enjoy it. Luna: Oh good, no new words. That sounds relaxing. Lucas: Exactly. So picture this. It's early morning. The sun is just coming up. You walk into a small bakery in Rome. Luna: Yeah, I can already smell the bread. Lucas: The baker is behind the counter. You catch their eye and smile. And you say: Buongiorno. Luna: Buongiorno. Good morning. Lucas: Right. Then the baker smiles back and says: Buongiorno! Come stai? Luna: Ah, they ask how you are. So you say: Bene, grazie? Lucas: Exactly. Bene, grazie. You're doing great already. So you're standing there, and you realize you forgot your wallet at home. No wait, I'm kidding. You're fine. You're just ordering bread. Luna: Oh good, I was worried for a second. Lucas: So you want to buy a loaf of bread. You point and say: Uno, per favore. Luna: Uno, per favore. One, please. That's easy. Lucas: The baker nods and hands you the bread. Then you say: Grazie. Luna: Grazie. Thank you. Lucas: But here's the fun part. The baker is new in town. So they ask: Come ti chiami? Luna: Oh, they want to know your name. So you say: Mi chiamo Luna. Lucas: Perfect. And the baker says: Piacere di conoscerti, Luna. Luna: Piacere di conoscerti. Nice to meet you too. I'd say: Piacere di conoscerti anche a me. Lucas: Or just: Anche a me. That works too. Luna: Anche a me. Nice and simple. Lucas: So you've got your bread, you've made a new friend. Time to go. You say: A dopo. Luna: A dopo. See you later. Lucas: And the baker waves and says: A dopo, Luna! Ciao! Luna: Ciao! What a lovely little story. I felt like I was there. Lucas: That's the power of a tiny story. All those phrases we've practiced — Buongiorno, Come stai?, Bene grazie, Uno per favore, Grazie, Mi chiamo, Piacere di conoscerti, A dopo, Ciao — they all came together naturally. Luna: Yeah, and it felt real. Like I could actually use them. Lucas: That's the goal. So listeners, next time you walk into a bakery — or any shop — try it. Start with Buongiorno, order with per favore, say grazie, and end with a dopo. Luna: And don't forget to introduce yourself! Mi chiamo... whatever your name is. Lucas: Exactly. And if you want to practice more, keep listening to Learn Italian with Fexingo. Luna: See you next time! A dopo! Lucas: A dopo, Luna. Ciao!
