- 0:00Uh.
- 0:03Jasmine Oolong, green
- 0:06and white. Long ago, these four
- 0:08teas were skilfully brewed at the Blissful Brew.
- 0:12Then, everything changed when the shop's
- 0:14popularity threatened its existence.
- 0:17All Mr. Okeron, the shop's owner and tea
- 0:20master, could do was to recruit four teenage
- 0:23orphans to learn his trade and staff his
- 0:25shop. A year has passed since the orphans were
- 0:28hired, and although their skills have progressed, they
- 0:31still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything.
- 0:34But I believe that they have the potential to make the
- 0:37Blissful Brew the greatest tea shop in the
- 0:39world.
- 0:41And welcome back, everybody, to another episode of Benders and
- 0:44Brews. But today I've got an
- 0:47extra special episode for you
- 0:50because, uh, currently I'm sitting in the studio with
- 0:53just Cameron and
- 0:56Connor, aka Bill and
- 0:58Brock.
- 0:59Guys, how's it going?
- 1:01Oh, it's going great. How you been doing, Skylar? I missed.
- 1:06For those that don't know, I just got back on a week and a
- 1:09half long trip from Denver. I'm not going to talk a whole lot
- 1:12about it, even though we said I should. Um, but
- 1:15it was a great time. It was very relaxing, very
- 1:17refreshing. Um, side note,
- 1:20you're probably wondering why Skyler? Why are you
- 1:23in the studio with just Cameron and Connor?
- 1:26Well, uh, David Mchaler are doing some
- 1:28life stuff. They're kind of re situating
- 1:31themselves, um, from some big
- 1:34changes, positive changes. Wonderful, exciting, super
- 1:37cool changes. And, uh, so we're just
- 1:40kind of doing a little one shot today to keep,
- 1:43uh, things going and, uh, hopefully give you some
- 1:46fun, uh, story to listen to. So that's
- 1:49what we're doing today. Like I said, it's just going to be
- 1:51Bill and it's just going to be Brock. It's going to be kind of
- 1:54back, what, like maybe two months ish
- 1:57before everything kind of started happening from
- 2:00season one prequel adventure.
- 2:02Yeah.
- 2:02Prequel.
- 2:02Cut. Yeah.
- 2:03Deep cut.
- 2:04Uh, Mr. O'Grad will still be.
- 2:11Well.
- 2:12We'Ve said this before, you're just jumping in at this point.
- 2:15You need to go back. You need to stop where you are.
- 2:17And you need to go back from the beginning. Something messed
- 2:20up along the know.
- 2:21That's right.
- 2:21Click the wrong button, the algorithm has
- 2:24messed with you. And you need to write the
- 2:27algorithms wrong. So anyways, all right, we're going
- 2:30to get started with a very special, uh,
- 2:33side adventure featuring Bill
- 2:36and Brock.
- 2:42All right.
- 2:42As the two of you finish up the last of your chores at the
- 2:45blissful brew, sweeping up the last of the dust from the
- 2:48floor that arrived via the bottom of the sandals
- 2:51from guests you've been serving throughout the day and
- 2:54cleaning the jelly spots off the last of the saucers
- 2:57and serving dishes. You feel a lingering spark
- 3:00of energy inside of you. This fizzling
- 3:03sensation that, uh, starts from your chest and tingles all the way
- 3:06up to the tips of your fingers and the heels of
- 3:09your feet stems from the excitement
- 3:11of an event that's about to happen. And sure
- 3:14enough, it does. Mr. Okeron steps
- 3:17through the doors of the kitchen. I
- 3:20think that's about it.
- 3:21Everyone, come over.
- 3:23Come on, come over. I have something special for each
- 3:26of you. And as you all begin to circle
- 3:29around him like a sports team waiting on their coach's
- 3:31next instruction, he has
- 3:34a massive smile on his face and
- 3:37begins to pass out some small jingling
- 3:40pouches to each of you.
- 3:41Happy.
- 3:42Uh, early soul rest day, everyone.
- 3:45You smile as you peek into the bag to find a
- 3:48collection of seven silver coins
- 3:50rattling around as you shift through them. Now, I know
- 3:53the holiday is all about resting the soul
- 3:56and finding one's inner peace and blah,
- 3:59blah, blah. But I know that all of you are
- 4:02excited for the days off and going
- 4:04out and doing fun things. And I just
- 4:07want to make sure.
- 4:08That while I myself will be off.
- 4:10To visit some old friends across the Earth kingdom,
- 4:13that you all will, uh, have plenty to keep yourselves busy with
- 4:16while the tea shop is closed. So consider this a
- 4:19little holiday bonus. As each of
- 4:22you takes your small pouch, you peek at the fresh,
- 4:25shiny coins and, uh, excitedly head off
- 4:28to bed. Although you find it a little bit difficult to sleep because you're
- 4:31thinking about the holiday and all the free time and
- 4:34now this small allowance that you'll have to do with as
- 4:37you please. It's not often you get a chance to get away
- 4:40from the tea shop. That makes, uh, up most of the time in your days.
- 4:43So this holiday has your minds stirring with
- 4:45ideas. So what kind of
- 4:47ideas are going through you
- 4:50heads as far as what you might want to do with this
- 4:53free time you've got?
- 4:55I mean, we're in the Earth kingdom and we got a few days off.
- 4:58I could go back to the old farm,
- 5:01maybe, uh, give some of the money back to
- 5:04the family, see the parents,
- 5:07see Mr. Cabbage man. Yeah.
- 5:10Wrestle some hogs, wrestle some hogs.
- 5:12Take some potshots at some
- 5:15seagulls, sling mud.
- 5:18Slinging mud is the best thing the
- 5:21universe has to offer, and you mock it.
- 5:24I think Brock desperately needs to become.
- 5:25A politician so he could do some mud
- 5:28for it. Uh, what's Bill thinking
- 5:31about? Um, not much. Uh,
- 5:34he doesn't have any plans to get away for the weekend. He's
- 5:37planning on just taking it easy, enjoying time off from
- 5:40work. Uh, he's probably going to,
- 5:43I don't know, he might do some hiking, some, um, just
- 5:46wandering around nature because that's where he finds peace.
- 5:49And I think he's just going to pack a, uh, sack of food
- 5:52and just kind of like camp, live off the land for a couple of
- 5:54days.
- 5:55Sure.
- 5:55Wow.
- 5:56It's a very soul rest day
- 5:59is.
- 6:00Actually taking the holiday.
- 6:03Yeah, exactly.
- 6:05I need to rest my soul.
- 6:07You don't want to go out and sling some
- 6:10mud?
- 6:11Hey, we all rest our souls in different ways.
- 6:15No judgment here. Yeah, no judgment.
- 6:18As, uh, you awaken the following day, you come downstairs to make
- 6:20yourselves some breakfast and find that Mr. Okaron is already
- 6:23headed out on his journey to meet up with some old colleagues
- 6:26and friends from his traveling days. I love how, like, tease
- 6:29the idea that, hey, Mr. Okaron's still alive and he's gone.
- 6:32Well, he can't go.
- 6:34He's got things to do. That's right.
- 6:35Just so you know, when it is in the story, like canonically speak,
- 6:38that's right.
- 6:40Uh, he's alive. It's before.
- 6:44To clarify, um, Mika
- 6:46has already disappeared, as she often does. And given her
- 6:49skills developed alongside her father and the Water tribe, you
- 6:52know, there's no chance of following her as she tends
- 6:55to leave no trace. Go Han mentioned
- 6:58something about a food tour and was excited to see
- 7:01just how far he could get with the map that he's been
- 7:04drawing up since you met him. Although he's very
- 7:07detailed and often tried to show the two of you his map,
- 7:10which he's very proud of, uh, your lack of
- 7:13interest left you nodding and smiling. And all of
- 7:15Guao's words went in one ear and out the other. So he
- 7:18could be anywhere right now trying out all the culinary
- 7:21delights of the Earth Kingdom had to offer. And who
- 7:24knows where that is?
- 7:28I have to ask out of podcast?
- 7:31Yes. Did Dave tell you this?
- 7:33No, I can't.
- 7:34This is how well you know
- 7:37exactly like something Guawan would be like, I
- 7:40want to go tour the food.
- 7:42I'm going to go find all the places that all the
- 7:44visiting people at our tea shop have been talking
- 7:47about. Like, oh, this is almost as good.
- 7:49As tell me that.
- 7:51Where is that?
- 7:52Where is that?
- 7:52I want to put that on my map.
- 7:54That's, uh, such a GuoHan thing to do.
- 7:56It's a GuoHan thing for sure. Oh, that should be a T shirt.
- 7:59It's a.
- 8:02Like I've only seen the.
- 8:06Reference.
- 8:07It would just be Cameron's face, though. We wouldn't use bills.
- 8:12Yeah, that way people can aim the tomatoes better.
- 8:14Yes.
- 8:15They're moving me off the stage or whatever.
- 8:18Uh.
- 8:22Brock, you watch as Bill walks past you carrying a couple
- 8:25of bags loaded up and begins to head out the door.
- 8:28So where are you off to? Big Bye?
- 8:31Big Bye?
- 8:32Big Bye. The Earth
- 8:35Kingdom's lingo, uh, is already coming back. I'm already that
- 8:38relaxed.
- 8:38That chill. Um,
- 8:41I'm going to go enjoy Soul rest
- 8:44day. Uh, what are you doing?
- 8:47I'm going to go back to the old farm and,
- 8:50uh, have some time with my family. You should
- 8:53come.
- 8:54I don't know. I had other plans. I wanted to
- 8:57go do some other things.
- 9:00Uh, such as?
- 9:02Um.
- 9:05Swing my bow staff, break rocks,
- 9:08real cool stuff like you do.
- 9:10Well, you can swing your bow staff anywhere. You know where there's a lot of
- 9:13rocks?
- 9:15Your farm on the farm?
- 9:16Yeah.
- 9:17Okay, we got to go clear off some rocks. We can do some
- 9:19extra hands.
- 9:20I know a really cool rock breaking place.
- 9:23Uh, but, uh, it's a secret place.
- 9:26Family, uh, secret, and,
- 9:29uh, I sadly cannot tell
- 9:32you. I
- 9:34know it might hurt, but family
- 9:37secrets.
- 9:38You need to tell me about places with
- 9:41cool rocks. Since we've been over this.
- 9:43I know this is like the fourth time you've told me.
- 9:46If I find a cool rock to.
- 9:47Give it to you.
- 9:50You just have to tell me where it is.
- 9:53The downside to giving you cool rocks,
- 9:56Brock, is all the ones that you've shown me are cool, weigh
- 9:58at least 50 pounds, and I can't bring those back to
- 10:01you.
- 10:03It's this guy, man. He doesn't even care.
- 10:07Well, fine. I will go off on my own.
- 10:09I'm going to build a tunnel. That's what I'm going to do.
- 10:13You, uh, can break some rocks.
- 10:15I bet you can't. I bet you can build a tunnel. You've been talking about
- 10:17building tunnels.
- 10:18You've been really on about this tunnel lately.
- 10:22Both been talking about this list of food places he wants to go
- 10:25to, and you've been talking about this tunnel.
- 10:27You know why I love tunnel?
- 10:28He keeps saying there's a tunnel underneath the blissful brew
- 10:31that you hide all of your cool rocks.
- 10:33I mean, don't tell anyone else about
- 10:36that. I told you that in confidence.
- 10:40No one else is here besides this random patron who's
- 10:42just talking to us.
- 10:44I love tunnel. Hold on one SEC. I love
- 10:46tunnels because you can break rocks, and
- 10:49there's always the chance the rocks come down on top of you. And
- 10:52then I just have a bed. And then it's also dark,
- 10:55so I just go to sleep. So worst
- 10:58case, I end up under some rocks, and I get a good
- 11:01power nap. Best case, I get to break rocks
- 11:03for, like, hours.
- 11:05Post power nap.
- 11:06Post power nap.
- 11:07That's the dream right there.
- 11:08Exactly.
- 11:09Post power nap, rock breaking. Um, and that's
- 11:12what I'm going to go do at the secret rock breaking
- 11:14spot.
- 11:17Can I get a raspberry mint tea?
- 11:19Hold on 1 second. I'm just a dishwasher. You see, this
- 11:22is why they left without us. You
- 11:25see, Guo and Mika, they don't like
- 11:28this part of you.
- 11:29You see, we're going to have a.
- 11:31POW out because you keep so many secrets,
- 11:34mr. Bill, if that is your real.
- 11:40Mean yeah, but
- 11:42secrets are family. Secrets are one
- 11:45thing, and you know
- 11:49to are you gonna force Mr. Okaron.
- 11:52To give up the secret ingredient to.
- 11:54His family secret tea?
- 11:57I'm a dishwasher. I don't make tea. And
- 12:00plus, I didn't know, Mr. You don't make tea?
- 12:02No, I'm just dishwasher, and I just serve it. We actually have
- 12:05been closed for a couple hours. I don't know why you're still
- 12:08here.
- 12:09And the man storms out.
- 12:11We still take a tip of tip. He's gone.
- 12:16Anyways, um see?
- 12:18Even you chase him away because of your secrets.
- 12:20That wasn't a secret. I told him
- 12:24I've got things to do. Brock
- 12:27okay, I hope you have a great time
- 12:30hanging out with your family, but for now, I got to
- 12:32be on my way, okay?
- 12:35Okay. I'll see you later. And can
- 12:38we walk off in the same direction?
- 12:41Phil grabs his stuff, walks up the tour, and Brock
- 12:44walks.
- 12:45Right.
- 12:46You have to be next to the person because otherwise it feels like you're
- 12:49being followed. And then it's only awkward for them. But for
- 12:52both of you, it's very awkward because you're heading in the same
- 12:54direction.
- 12:55Like mountains.
- 12:56This way.
- 13:00Your rock place.
- 13:01No, it's not that way. It's somewhere
- 13:04else. I just need to go that way to buy some stuff.
- 13:07Uh, okay, cool.
- 13:08Anyways, bye.
- 13:09Brock okay, see ya.
- 13:11And I start walking in a direction. In a different
- 13:13direction.
- 13:14Yes.
- 13:15All right. Brock you see him
- 13:17slowly fade into.
- 13:18The distance and like, uh, an, uh,
- 13:21alleyway.
- 13:22Okay. Yeah.
- 13:23So you watch him turn a corner into an alleyway.
- 13:25Oh, I'm following him.
- 13:26Okay, but
- 13:29why, may I ask?
- 13:31Because we're here
- 13:34for family and the
- 13:37boys are family.
- 13:39It has nothing to do with the secret rock break?
- 13:41No, not at all about the secret rock breaking place
- 13:44that I need to know about.
- 13:47All right, well, do I need to roll for
- 13:50stealth?
- 13:51Like, rely on your skills in training?
- 13:53Well, I rolled a nine.
- 13:55Uh, plus your focus.
- 13:57My focus is zero because I'm
- 13:59just all passion, baby.
- 14:01So with a nine, it says that you do it
- 14:04you succeed, but you do it imperfectly.
- 14:06Imperfectly.
- 14:07Now, I'm trying to think of when you're following somebody, how you can
- 14:10succeed, but do it imperfectly.
- 14:13What if I do, like, a Bugs Bunny tunnel, and so
- 14:16he can obviously tell that it's me, but he just.
- 14:18Like, well, yeah, I guess at the end of the
- 14:21day, that is the definition of doing following somebody
- 14:24imperfectly, which is that they know the whole time.
- 14:27Now, whether you know that Bill knows is
- 14:29kind of up in the air.
- 14:33How are you following Bill? That's the real question. If
- 14:36you're underground, are you?
- 14:40No, no.
- 14:41That's exactly why you know it's. Because every once in a
- 14:43while, you just kind of, like, casually glance behind.
- 14:46You and you see a head pop up out of the ground.
- 14:49You're doing?
- 14:50Like the mole from the Earth
- 14:52Rumble Stadium thing.
- 14:54Oh, yeah. You stick up your head, and once in a while you actually have, like,
- 14:57a mole rabit on your head or something pop up.
- 14:59Or what if I follow him like I do, like, the Tiptoe
- 15:02sneaky follow, and then whenever he turns around, I
- 15:05just dive into the ground. But there's still, like, an obvious
- 15:08mountain.
- 15:08You do an obvious dive, like an.
- 15:11Actual hike dive into the ground.
- 15:14And I think to top it all off, you're doing it cronk
- 15:17style, where as you're going, you're like.
- 15:21You got.
- 15:22Your own theme song.
- 15:26Brock falling wind, built to
- 15:29see some really cool rocks.
- 15:31And then like, I'm
- 15:44going to follow him.
- 15:45But are, uh, you telling me that you did that on
- 15:48no, no.
- 15:50He didn't want to tell Brock where he was going, but
- 15:53he figured Brock would follow him.
- 15:55But he knows where
- 15:58his spot he is going, and he knows there is a place
- 16:01where he can lose him right before he gets
- 16:04there.
- 16:04Because I still succeed in following
- 16:07you.
- 16:09This is what Bill's thinking.
- 16:10Maybe he won't lose you, maybe he will. We don't know.
- 16:13But in his mind, he's like, I.
- 16:15Don'T care if he follows me because I've got this ace in the
- 16:17hole that Brock doesn't even know about. And once I get to the ace in
- 16:20the hole, you're in trouble.
- 16:23Right?
- 16:27Okay.
- 16:27It's like mother Gothel and Tangle hiding the flower
- 16:30underneath the know at
- 16:33the start. It's like a bush.
- 16:35Yeah.
- 16:35And it's like you'd never find it.
- 16:36Even if you followed her, because it's like such a quick thing you
- 16:39can hide.
- 16:40This is a problem. And this is where
- 16:43I'm sure a lot of the audience starts to hate
- 16:46me, which is that, uh, I've only seen half of
- 16:49Tangled.
- 16:50This is the first scene
- 16:53of the movie.
- 16:54Yeah, it's been a long time. I feel like I watched half
- 16:57of it when it first came out
- 16:59after theaters, but like, to DVD or whatever.
- 17:02And that's as far as I got. Don't ask me
- 17:05why. I feel like something came up. I had to go.
- 17:08It's one of the best ones.
- 17:09That's what people have told me
- 17:13he hasn't learned.
- 17:14I need to watch the frying pans.
- 17:16Yeah.
- 17:17Or I got to remember the frying pan.
- 17:22And ah, anyway, so I would say,
- 17:25actually, there's an exact situation for this
- 17:28situation, and that is that, uh, I think
- 17:30Bill should roll a trick once he gets
- 17:33to his ace in the hole spot that he's
- 17:36referencing.
- 17:36Okay.
- 17:37And we'll just see how successful he is
- 17:40at tricking or trying to lose Brock, essentially.
- 17:43So I got minus one.
- 17:46That's a six five.
- 17:47That's definitely a
- 17:50well, I guess there's no point in even asking which one you
- 17:53choose because it doesn't matter.
- 17:54There's no choice. I just completely failed.
- 17:57But you assume I could play what.
- 17:59My ace in the hole was and we could play from there. How's that?
- 18:03And then we'll play it in this scenario.
- 18:05Yeah.
- 18:05So what his ace in the hole.
- 18:06Was is where he was going is Bill was
- 18:09going to a tree. Uh, I've
- 18:12actually referenced this tree before in the
- 18:14podcast way, uh, back when,
- 18:17I don't know in what context, but it basically said it's
- 18:20like Bill's quiet place is this M tree? So anyways, he
- 18:23went to the tree. And his ace in the hole was just to quickly jump up
- 18:26and climb into the tree because he knows this tree like the back of his
- 18:29hand. Right. Um, but the
- 18:32problem was
- 18:35this was like the very first time he brought his bow staff
- 18:38because he was in a rush. And he
- 18:41brought his bow staff, but he left it at the base of the tree
- 18:43when he jumped up quickly. And he normally
- 18:46leaves it at the bottom of the tree because what he
- 18:49puts in the tree is supplies. And he hides it
- 18:52in the tree. But he left his bow staff on the
- 18:55ground because he's so used to the habit of laying the bow staff down, going
- 18:58up the tree, grabbing the supplies. So this time he wasn't grabbing supplies, he
- 19:01was hiding. Right. But his bow staff's just sitting
- 19:04there.
- 19:04He was too much in a rush.
- 19:05Correct. And he fell into a habit like his rush.
- 19:09So anyways, he builds up in a tree. So when
- 19:12Brock turns the corner, he just sees a bow staff
- 19:14resting on a tree.
- 19:16It's a pretty big hint.
- 19:17Yeah.
- 19:17So I'll go up, I'll grab the bow staff, and I'll just kind of look up
- 19:20and be like, hey, buddy.
- 19:22What's?
- 19:22Uh, know, I figured my family could wait a bit, just hang out
- 19:25with my boy. What you doing up there?
- 19:29You've got to be kidding me.
- 19:31Oh, no, I'm not. I'm just right here. What's up, dude?
- 19:33Can I come up?
- 19:34Looks cool up there. Uh, before you even
- 19:37answer a rock.
- 19:40Elevator.
- 19:43I'm right up at eye level. Like, what's up, dude? You dropped this on the
- 19:46ground. I'll hand you your boat.
- 19:49I don't need the boat stuff. It slows me down when I
- 19:52climb the tree.
- 19:52What are you climbing the tree for? Are you trying to get rid of
- 19:55me?
- 19:58Can I be honest?
- 20:00Yes, m and no.
- 20:02Yes and no. Yes, I was trying to get rid.
- 20:04Of you because I wanted to be alone, but
- 20:07no, because I normally always climb this tree when I get here.
- 20:11Well, see, there's a problem because
- 20:14you're not alone. Because I'm here for
- 20:17you.
- 20:17You're here to disturb my quiet time.
- 20:20I would never I'm here for the
- 20:23cool rocks.
- 20:24I lied about the rocks. Actually, there are
- 20:27some cool rocks I can show you. And Bill's going to
- 20:30grab this bag that's right next to him. Well, my
- 20:32Midwest just showed right there. That's my
- 20:35bag. Uh, he grabs his
- 20:38bag.
- 20:39That just doesn't sound worse.
- 20:41Actually. He grabbed it and he kind of, like,
- 20:43climbs back down the tree with it. And, uh, he gets down
- 20:46to the ground.
- 20:47I'm still standing on my elevator.
- 20:49Just you can probably lower.
- 20:50I don't lied
- 20:53about the cool rock.
- 20:55Again, there are some cool rocks.
- 20:57Uh, do you understand what I went through
- 21:00to get here?
- 21:01Yeah, a lot of diving in the tunnels.
- 21:04Yeah. I thought you were just doing that for fun.
- 21:07And you mean to tell me
- 21:10it was all for nothing because the
- 21:13rocks aren't?
- 21:16Um, um, there are some rocks.
- 21:18Look.
- 21:19And, uh, Bill kind of like, ushers him to
- 21:22look. So what this
- 21:25tree is mind you, I want to paint a picture. This
- 21:27tree is
- 21:30over the edge of a cliff. So it's like
- 21:33one of those trees that's, like, grown out of the
- 21:36side of a cliff. And you're like, when you look at it, you'd be like, how the heck
- 21:39does that work? But this is just an old, ancient tree
- 21:42that the roots are just so deep that it's just there. And the OD
- 21:45thing about this tree is it's totally out, um, on the edge of this
- 21:48cliff path, and it's
- 21:51totally alone by itself, right.
- 21:54And, uh, Bill just finds this
- 21:56tree. This is kind of the exact same thing
- 21:59way back when he finds it to be a representation of
- 22:02himself. He's, like, alone on the edge of a cliff,
- 22:05right. Anyways, uh,
- 22:07he points over the cliff, which is a giant valley
- 22:10filled with beautiful sights and stuff. You can see a lake
- 22:13off the lake in distance. You can see everything. And then
- 22:16Bill points to the opposite end of the cliff where
- 22:19there's a ton of rocks, and he says,
- 22:22look over there, Brock. Those are some of the
- 22:25coolest rocks I've ever seen. Look, that one even looks like
- 22:28a face.
- 22:29It looks like you rock, Brock.
- 22:31Man, those do look pretty cool over there. We should go
- 22:34check those out.
- 22:37I've never been over there.
- 22:38Uh oh.
- 22:39Well, what a perfect time.
- 22:42I'd rather do what I came here.
- 22:44To do and enjoy my vacation.
- 22:46I'm not here for your tree allegories being
- 22:49just like you. I'm here to break some rocks
- 22:52and follow Bill. And I've already done one of those,
- 22:55so we're doing this. Can I just
- 22:58start running off? But I take his bow
- 23:01staff.
- 23:05With bow staff in hand, I run off to the
- 23:08other side of the lake. Do I need to
- 23:10roll?
- 23:11Running all the way to the lake?
- 23:13How far is it?
- 23:14It's pretty far away in my mind. I guess it could be closer.
- 23:17Well, I mean, he's running towards I'm running towards,
- 23:20making his way.
- 23:21I don't know if I need to roll.
- 23:22You don't even need to roll.
- 23:23You're going to chase him. But before he chases him, he's going to quickly
- 23:26throw the supply bag he.
- 23:28Has and add him into the truck. Put it back.
- 23:31All right.
- 23:31He's going to go chase it after him. All right.
- 23:34You get back here with my bow stat. That's
- 23:37mine. That's precious merchandise.
- 23:39And you better not break any rocks with that.
- 23:42No promises.
- 23:43And as the two of you run
- 23:45together, bill chasing Brock in some
- 23:48sort of adorable little sibling big
- 23:51sibling looking situation
- 23:54as he's playing keep away with you holding, uh,
- 23:57your Bow staff, uh, the two of you, uh
- 24:00you make your way up and down some rolling hills and
- 24:03short mountains and a beeline towards this
- 24:06area with the face rock that
- 24:09Bill says exists. And as
- 24:12you crit I'm not saying it doesn't
- 24:15bill saw it, and he says it looks like a face.
- 24:17Brock's face.
- 24:18Explicitly brock's face.
- 24:21Uh, good looking rock.
- 24:23Well, handsome rock right there.
- 24:26As you crest a lush plateau, the
- 24:29long green grass blowing in the wind,
- 24:32you see some sort of a cave opening
- 24:35that goes into one of the mountain
- 24:38sort of areas in this
- 24:41series, uh, of hills and mountains that you're kind of running around
- 24:44through. And you pause for a
- 24:47moment because you see something moving
- 24:49towards near the entrance of this
- 24:52cave. Uh, you see a man dressed in
- 24:55Fire Nation garb and he is sitting on
- 24:58an ostrich horse cart, which
- 25:01he kind of pulls up in next to alongside
- 25:03the cave. Uh, parks this cart, hops off
- 25:06his vehicle and proceeds to withdraw a
- 25:09barrel from the back of this cart, which he then
- 25:12rolls into the cave.
- 25:15I mean, we can't not check that out.
- 25:18Check what out?
- 25:19I want my Bow staff back. Oh, you'll get it eventually. Hold on.
- 25:22No, I want my bow.
- 25:23Step back.
- 25:23We're going to investigate this cave real quick.
- 25:25Why?
- 25:26Okay.
- 25:26Bye.
- 25:30He's just running into a cave?
- 25:32Yeah.
- 25:33Okay, follow up.
- 25:36Definitely taunting me with
- 25:39maybe when he gets into a cave, he starts, like, hitting it
- 25:42on rocks. Hey, you stopped that.
- 25:45You stopped hitting those rocks.
- 25:46I'll pick up, like, little pebbles and start hitting, like, a baseball bat
- 25:49or something.
- 25:51Okay, so it's, uh, a couple of minutes before you
- 25:54guys make it down to the cave entrance, since
- 25:57that individual, that mysterious figure, kind of ran
- 26:00inside. So there's maybe, like, a five minute difference before you're able
- 26:03to get in there. Once you are directly inside the
- 26:06cave's opening, you find a small room with a
- 26:09split in tunnels, one leading to the right and
- 26:12one leading to the left above. Like,
- 26:14in between these two tunnels, you see, uh, an arrow
- 26:17that looks like it's drawn out on some kind of chalk,
- 26:20and it points to the tunnel on the
- 26:23right.
- 26:24Well, Mr. M. Give me my Bow staff back. Any bright
- 26:26ideas?
- 26:27Give me my Bow staff back. In a minute.
- 26:29Hold on.
- 26:30I give you the bow staff, you run off and leave me
- 26:33here. So we're in this together, are
- 26:36we? We're in a cave. It's a really cool thing.
- 26:38Just why are we in a cave?
- 26:39Because it's awesome, and we saw a guy come in
- 26:42here. I got to investigate.
- 26:44What do you mean a guy? You said this mentioned this guy twice now.
- 26:47Yeah, there was a guy. He was, like, rolling some barrels in here.
- 26:50I mean, that can't not be something sketchy.
- 26:53And so why not investigate?
- 26:55Well, because I know how good you are at stealthing and hiding behind
- 26:58people.
- 26:58What do you mean?
- 27:00I knew you were following me the whole way to the tree.
- 27:03Just to specify, though, Bill, you would have
- 27:06seen the ostrich horse and the cart parked outside of
- 27:09the yeah, you didn't see
- 27:12the guy, but you do.
- 27:13Know, like well, that's kind of weird.
- 27:14To just leave a I'm not doubting.
- 27:16That there wasn't a guy.
- 27:18But you are doubting my sneak.
- 27:20Yes. Correct? Yes.
- 27:21Well, what a time to, uh,
- 27:24change your mind.
- 27:25Let's go. No.
- 27:29Can'T hear you.
- 27:30I will go with you if you give me the boat
- 27:33stuff back.
- 27:34That's a promise.
- 27:35Now, how do I know you're not just going
- 27:38to run off once I give it to you?
- 27:40I mean, you could say I promise all you want. My dad promised to come
- 27:43back and look what happened. He's a
- 27:47viable cabbage farmer. I messed that up.
- 27:50Well, I tried to make an absentee.
- 27:52Dad joke, and it didn't work out.
- 27:55It's okay. Bill puts his hand on Brock's
- 27:58alder. It's okay. There's no shame
- 28:01in having a good father figure in your life.
- 28:03I'm going to do, like, a quick clap just to cut that out.
- 28:07Okay? Just to cut out that stupid
- 28:10joke.
- 28:10Uh, do you want to do a
- 28:13comfort or support?
- 28:16That's an option. It's like the opposite of comfort support.
- 28:19This is more like
- 28:21consoling effort.
- 28:23Well, then, if that's the case, you could do a plead.
- 28:26Oh, yeah, I'm pleading with him. Give me my boast. I gave him
- 28:29my deal. I'll go with you into this cave.
- 28:32All right, give me my bo.
- 28:33Step back.
- 28:35That's.
- 28:39Four total.
- 28:40Yeah.
- 28:42I like how I normally roll really good, and I could do this
- 28:45many one shot, and Bill's like, I don't know what to
- 28:48do. I'm on vacation.
- 28:51I let your guard down.
- 28:52Yeah.
- 28:53It kind of falls on deaf ears.
- 28:55Yeah.
- 28:55Ah. So sorry. I can't hear you in a tunnel.
- 28:58Let's go. Okay. Which tunnel did you run down?
- 29:01Probably the one with the arrow.
- 29:02Uh, the arrow pointing to it.
- 29:04Of course. It says,
- 29:07follow me.
- 29:08It says, Certain death to the left.
- 29:11Sketchy guy with a barrel to the right. I'm
- 29:14going to go to the right.
- 29:15All right, so this tunnel opens up into a wide area,
- 29:18more of a chamber than a tunnel, really. The
- 29:21floor of this tunnel is covered in a
- 29:23layer of hay that's so thick, you
- 29:26can't even see the floor of the cavern below
- 29:29it. There are, though, some
- 29:32strange and almost seemingly because of the way that
- 29:35they're cut into almost like, tombstone
- 29:37shapes. Um, there are these
- 29:39manmade stone, or at least allegedly
- 29:42manmade stone outcroppings that poke out from
- 29:45the straw floor that
- 29:48just seem to sit there, um, above the or
- 29:51sticking out of the straw.
- 29:53How many are there?
- 29:55Uh, there's about a dozen.
- 29:56You said there's a cavern in there?
- 29:58Yeah.
- 29:58Or we're in a cavern.
- 29:59You step into the opening of. This cavern,
- 30:03the tunnel kind of becomes a wide cut.
- 30:04Yeah.
- 30:05And you can't see the floor because it's all covered in hay.
- 30:08And then amidst, uh, this whole area covered in hay,
- 30:11there are these stone outcroppings that stick out from the hay,
- 30:14and there's about a dozen.
- 30:17And that's all we can see in the room.
- 30:18Yes.
- 30:18Just these stone outcroppings.
- 30:20Right.
- 30:20And the hay.
- 30:21Right.
- 30:21I mean, unless you want to do some kind of investigation or
- 30:24something.
- 30:24Well, I've never seen a stone I couldn't
- 30:27hit.
- 30:28No, not with my bow staff. Don't even think
- 30:31about it. I see him raise it above his.
- 30:34Head like a spear as I raise the
- 30:36bow step.
- 30:37Don't use a rock.
- 30:38Break rocks with rocks. Don't use my bow step. The last thing I want
- 30:41to see you do is break that staff.
- 30:45That's what you sound like. Fine,
- 30:48here's your stupid bow step. So I'll toss him as bow staff.
- 30:51Okay.
- 30:52And that's when Bill runs out.
- 30:54Immediately, I'll just go up to
- 30:57the nearest one of these little tombstone
- 30:59things, and I'll try and dig the hay
- 31:02out from around the stone.
- 31:05Bill is going to do too.
- 31:06Yeah.
- 31:07Because I got to figure I take this.
- 31:09Are you going to the same one that he's going to, uh I'm
- 31:12more.
- 31:12Like I was thinking I was going watching him
- 31:15to see he said he was going to break it, so I was going to kind of watch him
- 31:18break it. But then when I saw him actually getting down, doing a sensible action,
- 31:21bill's like, oh, okay. So he gets down and starts hoping to move the
- 31:24hay.
- 31:24Okay, that was sensible action.
- 31:27When have I ever not been sensible?
- 31:29Uh.
- 31:32So, Brock, as you start well, as both of you
- 31:35start to clear away some of this hay that's by the
- 31:37stone, um,
- 31:40you kind of, like, clear it away, and then you end up getting
- 31:43around to the other side of the stone. So it's very flat.
- 31:46Um, so it has, like, two faces. Like, imagine like, a
- 31:49coin. One face is towards you, and it's
- 31:51just stone. But as you come around to the other side
- 31:54of this outcropping rock, you see the other
- 31:57face has, um,
- 32:00zero or like, a big circle
- 32:02drawn on it with that chalk.
- 32:05Same kind of chalk, same kind of style as you
- 32:08saw with the arrow pointing at
- 32:10the tunnel.
- 32:14Uh, as you clear away the hay, you just find
- 32:17just regular floor, stone floor, uh,
- 32:20below you.
- 32:21So if this has a zero on it and there's,
- 32:24like, ten or twelve of these things in here, I wonder
- 32:27if the other ones have different numbers. So I'm going to go over to another
- 32:30one and do the same thing.
- 32:31Brock, I thought you couldn't count.
- 32:33Well, I can identify a
- 32:35number.
- 32:36Okay.
- 32:37All right.
- 32:37So you notice they're in rows of like,
- 32:40there's two. Uh, like I said, it's
- 32:43kind of more of a cavern but it's pretty uniformly
- 32:46sized, so it's almost like just a wide tunnel, I guess you could
- 32:49say. Um, there's, like, two of these stone
- 32:51outcroppings almost, like, perfectly adjacent to each
- 32:54other, probably about, like, 10ft apart. And
- 32:57then there's 5ft between the end
- 32:59of the stone outcropping to the wall.
- 33:02So it's about 20ft total wide. Um,
- 33:06so the first stone that you walked up to was on the right
- 33:09side, and you clear it out. It had the zero on
- 33:12it. You move forward to the next one. You
- 33:15go diagonally, so you go to the one on the left.
- 33:18Do, uh, you clear out hay, or do you just look at the outcropping?
- 33:21I'll clear out hay.
- 33:22Okay, you'll clear out some hay. It's just stone. And you
- 33:25see another zero on this rock. But as you turn
- 33:28around, you can see the face of the rock behind
- 33:31you, the one that was right next to the one that you cleared the hay from. And it has
- 33:34an X on it.
- 33:36We're playing tic TAC freaking toe,
- 33:39man.
- 33:41What? What do you mean? I'm going to
- 33:44go over to a different one and clear it.
- 33:46When you go to a different one, do you go to one?
- 33:49The one straight above the one we first cleared,
- 33:52straight up to the right.
- 33:54So the one that Brock didn't clear, the one next to the one Brock just
- 33:56cleared. Uh, okay.
- 33:59So the first one had an O diagonal
- 34:01up to the left had an X
- 34:04middle. And the one next to the
- 34:07one that I had originally done was
- 34:10an O.
- 34:11No, that's the one clearing.
- 34:13So we've only done two.
- 34:15Yeah.
- 34:15Okay.
- 34:16Um, so you walked up to this one. It
- 34:19had an O on it. Um, you
- 34:22went over to this one. You looked,
- 34:25and it had an O on it. That one looked back,
- 34:27and this had an X on.
- 34:30Okay, so which one are you going to?
- 34:33The one above the first O.
- 34:34This one?
- 34:35Yeah.
- 34:35Okay.
- 34:36All right.
- 34:37Now that we've drawn it out, everybody is good with where
- 34:40we're at. Maybe, um, I'll try to remember to
- 34:43take a picture.
- 34:43I don't know.
- 34:44I might just make a version of this that's been edited so
- 34:46that it looks fancy and not just me making
- 34:49weird drawing stuff on the paper, but anyway.
- 34:52All right, so you walk up to this other one,
- 34:55and as you do, you feel a slight
- 34:58click underneath your foot. And then all of a
- 35:01sudden, you feel yourself thrown backwards
- 35:03as a massive explosion erupts in the
- 35:06cave. You, um, take
- 35:09a fatigue, and you are
- 35:14impaired.
- 35:16Should have been more careful, man.
- 35:18More careful.
- 35:21Broccoli. That's what they call me.
- 35:23Yes.
- 35:23You took my stick.
- 35:24You have your stick, actually.
- 35:27Sorry. You're stunned. Okay, so
- 35:30after, ah, a couple of seconds, as per
- 35:33the stunned concept, uh, you're able to pick yourself
- 35:35up off the floor. Um, and you see that
- 35:38the whole area where the hay was where you had
- 35:41stepped. It's obviously scattered everywhere. Some of it is
- 35:44all over Brock right now.
- 35:46Um, and the stone
- 35:48outcropping that was there has
- 35:51been blown to smithereens. Uh, there is no
- 35:55stone outcropping there anymore.
- 35:56Just gone now.
- 35:57Yeah.
- 35:58Okay.
- 36:00Did I win?
- 36:03Yeah, congrats. You won the
- 36:05Get Exploded award.
- 36:07The weirdest game of tic TAC toe I've ever
- 36:10played.
- 36:12Where else would you want to be spending your vacation other
- 36:15than getting blown.
- 36:15Up and my tree?
- 36:18Uh, don't, uh, even worry about the tree. It'll still be there.
- 36:21Hey, funny thing is, Brock,
- 36:24I've broken more rocks than you.
- 36:29Uh, so just in a rage, I'll
- 36:32just go and kick the next one. I don't
- 36:35even uncover. Um, I just kick this one,
- 36:38the.
- 36:38One above the exploding one.
- 36:40It blows up.
- 36:44You take one fatigue, and you also get sent
- 36:47flying backwards right next to.
- 36:50I was like, Take that, idiot.
- 36:54Ah, I got you.
- 36:56I bet you feel real stupid.
- 37:00I feel dumb.
- 37:01Brock, that one's
- 37:04gone.
- 37:04Okay.
- 37:05Do we happen to know why these are exploding?
- 37:08I don't know.
- 37:10Why are we even messing with these?
- 37:13Because we saw the guy.
- 37:15He's not even here.
- 37:17Allegedly. We got to keep looking.
- 37:19Allegedly.
- 37:20There's no guy here. There's the other tunnel.
- 37:23Oh, tunnel.
- 37:26No, I know what you're thinking.
- 37:28No, you don't know where you would go
- 37:32underground.
- 37:32I know exactly where I would go.
- 37:37So Brock
- 37:41so before getting into a tunnel
- 37:44haphazardly, brock will
- 37:47do a bit of Earth bending in the ground to sort of open
- 37:50up a little hole that he would then
- 37:53jump into to start a tunnel. So
- 37:56he'll step on the ground and open it up
- 38:00like an elevator shaft type deal.
- 38:02Okay.
- 38:03And just make sure that there's no more
- 38:06explosives underground.
- 38:08Okay.
- 38:08I'm, like, in the middle, though. I'm in the middle.
- 38:11You're just opening up a straight down
- 38:14elevator shaft.
- 38:15I do have to ask very important question
- 38:18here.
- 38:18Straight down, is it just rock
- 38:21sized.
- 38:22Hole or did you make it bigger that
- 38:25Bill falls down with you because he's right next to you.
- 38:28Well, now that you
- 38:32like, I don't put myself down.
- 38:35I'm standing behind it. That way
- 38:38if there's anything under there.
- 38:40You can jump down.
- 38:41I don't fall to certain do a.
- 38:43Reliable skills and training. He's doing the minecraft.
- 38:45You don't dig straight down.
- 38:47Don't dig straight down, because then you're in trouble.
- 38:50What do I add to it?
- 38:52Uh, that one is focus.
- 38:53If it's your skills and training, yes.
- 38:56Okay, so seven.
- 38:57Seven. Okay.
- 38:58You do it, but you do it imperfectly. So, um,
- 39:01you start to fall
- 39:04because you just opened up and you kind of
- 39:06misjudged the size of your hole. Uh, your foot
- 39:09starts to go down. Uh, you reach out to
- 39:12grab something and you grab onto this
- 39:14root that's kind of hanging out of the wall. And you
- 39:17pull it and it pulls down kind of an OD amount before just
- 39:20stopping all of a sudden. Uh, but it allows you to
- 39:23catch yourself before you fall down the hole.
- 39:25Okay. So I'm just kind of dangling from a vine now.
- 39:28Ah.
- 39:29Bill's going to offer him his bow.
- 39:30Staff to grab after he
- 39:33kept it away from you.
- 39:34That's so nice of you. I'll grab onto the
- 39:37bow staff and then come back up top and assess the
- 39:40situation we got here.
- 39:41Lift him up.
- 39:43Okay.
- 39:43You lift him up.
- 39:44Yeah.
- 39:44Um, would you like to roll and assess
- 39:47the situation then?
- 39:48I'll do the same.
- 39:49Or do you want to help?
- 39:52Sure.
- 39:53Okay, so I'm assessing the situation. He's rolling to
- 39:55help.
- 39:56Well, this marks a fatigue. If I help oh, that's
- 39:58true.
- 40:00You already helped.
- 40:02Let's just assess the situation.
- 40:03I got a six.
- 40:04I got a seven.
- 40:07Okay.
- 40:07Well, Brock, you're a little, like
- 40:10yeah, you're a little shuddered from exploded.
- 40:12You almost fell.
- 40:13It looks like we got a hole
- 40:15here. I'm like, I have a concussion.
- 40:18Well, you're looking down your hole. You're like, all
- 40:21right, let's see, what was I looking for again?
- 40:23There's definitely a hole.
- 40:26There's a hole. It's a hole. And sure enough, it is a hole. It
- 40:29just goes down as far as your Earth bending
- 40:32skills allowed it to go down.
- 40:33I was hoping for
- 40:3510ft the most.
- 40:38Okay, so there's a ten foot hole.
- 40:40Oh, jeez.
- 40:40Uh, Bill, on the other hand, you get to ask me one of the questions from
- 40:43the assessor situation list.
- 40:45What should I be on the lookout for?
- 40:46What should you be on the lookout for? Uh, actually, yeah. As you
- 40:49glance, uh, across the room, you notice something
- 40:52that wasn't there before. Uh, you see
- 40:55that there is a mirror
- 40:58at the end of the room, as I said, wasn't there
- 41:01before, but now it is. Uh, and through the
- 41:04mirror, you can actually see all the stones,
- 41:07uh, from the other side, so you can see what markings
- 41:09are on the other face of the stone.
- 41:12Okay.
- 41:13Uh, I'm going to hit Brock.
- 41:15I hit him.
- 41:16I'm going to tap no, like
- 41:19the thing where you tap something back of your hand.
- 41:23Hey, Brock, uh, was that there
- 41:25before?
- 41:26Was what there before? Those six mirrors. I don't know what you're talking
- 41:29about.
- 41:29It's just six.
- 41:33I exploded. I probably hit my head down there. Don't worry.
- 41:35I was a little bird flying around his head.
- 41:38Anyone going to get that phone?
- 41:41What's? A phone?
- 41:43Brock no, it's just one mirror, Brock.
- 41:46But you see the mirror,
- 41:49was that there before?
- 41:51I don't think so. It was just kind of dark in here.
- 41:55Uh, Bill's going to look a little closer and see the
- 41:58back of the rocks now.
- 41:59Yeah.
- 42:00So you can see that all of them are marked with either a zero
- 42:03or an X. Um, and you can see which ones are
- 42:06marked with which. Obviously, you're able to work
- 42:08out that uh, things would be in
- 42:11reverse because it's a mirror.
- 42:13Would we?
- 42:14Yeah, you would.
- 42:16I feel like I feel like, yeah, if it was Brock looking at it,
- 42:19he'd be like, all right, all the X's are over here.
- 42:22Put them down the right order, and we'll just have Brock go to
- 42:24the
- 42:27oh, that one's.
- 42:33Are the so from left to right.
- 42:36So I was just going to tell you.
- 42:38I wasn't even going to mark on.
- 42:40Unless you really needed it. So you just want to
- 42:43go jump to that left one and build points to
- 42:46the one up to the left. Just keep following that one
- 42:49straight ahead.
- 42:50The X?
- 42:51No, the circle. Yeah. He
- 42:54points at the front right one, and he points to the
- 42:57diagonal. He says just jump to that and then just keep
- 43:00going straight from there.
- 43:03Okay, so I'll
- 43:06follow the circles.
- 43:07All right, you follow the circles. So you go to these two.
- 43:10Uh, yeah.
- 43:11And right before he goes to the last one, bill's going to
- 43:14yell, wait.
- 43:14He'S got 1ft in the air.
- 43:17Why?
- 43:18Uh, go diagonal.
- 43:22Okay, I miscalculated something.
- 43:26Whatever.
- 43:27Nerd.
- 43:29They're my custard.
- 43:31I'll go diagonal.
- 43:33Bracko's diagonal. And you find yourself at the end of the
- 43:36tunnel.
- 43:37Okay.
- 43:37Bill's going to follow same order.
- 43:40All right.
- 43:40And then as you guys both make it to the end of the tunnel, uh,
- 43:43there's a short tunnel that goes past
- 43:46that does, um, not have any hay on the ground or
- 43:49anything like that. You also notice, uh, to
- 43:52your right, kind, uh, of in a corner,
- 43:55there is strangely, uh, familiar
- 43:58looking route just hanging from the wall.
- 44:01Strangely familiar route like
- 44:04the route that was in.
- 44:05Is this like a dead end?
- 44:07No, there's a tunnel that keeps going. I'm just letting
- 44:10I want to pull that route. All right,
- 44:14you pull the route, and as you do, the mirror at the
- 44:17end of the hall sort of, um, almost
- 44:20like, uh, one of those bookcases where you
- 44:23pull the book and it kind of moves. This one just it
- 44:25spins like it's on a platform. And then on the back,
- 44:28there's just a rock that, uh, just blends
- 44:31in.
- 44:31With the back of the cave.
- 44:33That's probably fine.
- 44:35Yeah.
- 44:36Let's keep going. Right.
- 44:39It's probably fine.
- 44:41It's a rock.
- 44:42And of course, as you look back, you can just personally see
- 44:45all the X's and the zeros since you're on
- 44:48the other side of the rock. Um, all right,
- 44:51you go a little bit further down, uh, the tunnel, and you
- 44:54come to another chamber.
- 44:58Uh, coming into this chamber, you can see
- 45:01that there are now three different
- 45:03tunnels that you can choose from.
- 45:05What, uh.
- 45:09That go further in? Yes. Um, the
- 45:11tunnels are
- 45:14each labeled with that same
- 45:17kind of chalk artwork that you saw before.
- 45:19Uh, one of them shows a series of swirled
- 45:22lines suggesting almost like a cartoonish
- 45:25tornado. Um, one
- 45:28of them has a cartoonish foot with little,
- 45:31like, wavy lines coming off of it. Like as if
- 45:34someone were saying, this is a stinky foot. Um,
- 45:38and then one of them has no
- 45:40drawing, but instead has words
- 45:43and it just reads, if you're not
- 45:46Kuro, don't go down this tunnel.
- 45:49I mean it.
- 45:53So we're going down that, right.
- 45:58Which one?
- 45:59Uh, the one that says, if you're not Kuro,
- 46:03you don't come down here. Why else
- 46:06would they have that sign if not something cools on the
- 46:08other end?
- 46:09It's probably some dude's bedroom.
- 46:12Cave bedroom. Yoon would be familiar with
- 46:15that.
- 46:15Yeah. And then we can bond and become
- 46:18friends over our love of cave style
- 46:21bedrooms.
- 46:23What kind of dude did you see come down here anyways?
- 46:26No, it was just a dude with a barrel, which
- 46:28is weird because there's
- 46:31no large impressions or anything in the ground.
- 46:34Are there impressions on the ground of where a barrel might have been?
- 46:37Oh.
- 46:37Do you want to assess the situation?
- 46:40I want to assess it so hard.
- 46:42Assess the situation,
- 46:45too.
- 46:46You look around and you're like, no, it's
- 46:49rocks. Why would there be any it's not dirt. There's no
- 46:52barrel impression.
- 46:53Well, so much for that.
- 46:56Um,
- 46:59yeah.
- 47:00You got any better ideas?
- 47:03Would you rather go into a tornado or a place that smells
- 47:06like feet? Or would you want to go
- 47:09check out a best friend, potential best friend named Kura?
- 47:12I want to go back to my tree.
- 47:13Well, too late.
- 47:15Uh, that's the one option I'm not giving you.
- 47:18We're in the tunnel. We're already here. We're
- 47:21having an adventure. We're having fun. So
- 47:24where are we going? I love being told I'm having
- 47:27fun, right? We're all having a good time.
- 47:29Uh, it's a nice little hike. Don't
- 47:32worry.
- 47:37So, story time.
- 47:39So I'm going to do a quick little thing here. So
- 47:42on our last day in Flagstaff, right,
- 47:46there's a hike called Devil's Bridge. And
- 47:49so I had been there before and it was like, uh, an
- 47:52hour long hike. So they were like, you know, we got to
- 47:54do something easy because we've been hiking for like four days straight.
- 47:57And I was like, you know, there's this nice little easy hike called Devil's
- 48:00Bridge. And it's like a
- 48:03mile one way to a mile back.
- 48:06And so we start on the
- 48:09trail and we're on there for like 20 minutes. And they're
- 48:12like, we should start to be going uphill, right, because
- 48:15we're on, like, ground level. Uh, so I'm like,
- 48:18don't worry, it's a nice little hike kids do. It'll be fine. And
- 48:21we pass these two ladies that came up.
- 48:24Uh, yeah. So we started at like 1030, right?
- 48:27And we look at our watches. It's like
- 48:2902:00.
- 48:30Oh, my God.
- 48:33Yeah.
- 48:34So everyone's just like, dude, what did you get us
- 48:36into? I was like, don't worry, it's a nice little hike. So
- 48:393 hours later mind, uh, you
- 48:42I'm in jeans. Cameron didn't pack a full water
- 48:45bottle. Josiah's in jeans. Nick
- 48:48was the only one who's smart enough to wear shorts and pack a full
- 48:51water bottle. And we're up at the top and
- 48:53everyone's just like shooting daggers at me.
- 48:57It was a nice little hang.
- 48:58Kids do it.
- 48:59Kids do it.
- 49:00Kids do it.
- 49:014 hours old ladies do it.
- 49:05So you got your three tunnels.
- 49:07Just choose a path and I'll follow you.
- 49:09Enie meanie mini. We're going in the
- 49:12other in the.
- 49:13Kuro, the one where it talks about.
- 49:15A new best friend.
- 49:16All right, we're meeting a new best friend whose name is apparently Kuro.
- 49:19Kuro, you say how you say it's all good.
- 49:22Um, all right, so as you guys come around to the
- 49:25corner, uh, so this tunnel kind of like is at angle.
- 49:27You go in, you take a corner. You can kind of hear something
- 49:30as you're making your way around this corner and you quickly realize what
- 49:33it is that you're hearing. Uh, the tunnel itself
- 49:36is quite brightly lit,
- 49:39uh, because
- 49:42even worse, uh, because there
- 49:45is a wall of flames
- 49:48shooting just kind of like in the
- 49:50shape of a wall. Like it's not shooting towards you. Like
- 49:53incredible. It's just like a series of
- 49:56flames all shooting into each other
- 49:59from the walls, the ceiling and the floor.
- 50:02And it creates just a wall of flames in
- 50:05front of you, blocking
- 50:07your ability to get through.
- 50:09Well, yeah, no, I'm not well, we're on stone
- 50:12floors. So you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to earth bend some
- 50:15walls to block the flames. We're going to walk
- 50:18right through. I'm m going to rely on my skills and
- 50:21training.
- 50:21You better.
- 50:22Uh, and we're going to go right through that wall of
- 50:24flames because I rolled a
- 50:27seven.
- 50:29Okay, so you stomped the ground.
- 50:31Wait, it's still with focus, right?
- 50:33Yeah.
- 50:34Okay.
- 50:34Yeah.
- 50:34So seven.
- 50:35All right.
- 50:36You stomp the ground. A chunk of rock comes out
- 50:39and it moves forward over the kind of
- 50:42openings of wherever these flames are
- 50:45coming out of. It blocks the floor,
- 50:48but the flames from the ceiling are still coming down and the
- 50:51flames from the two walls are still coming across. And you're
- 50:54feeling quite tired
- 50:57between the.
- 50:57Explosion and the other thing, the constant
- 51:00hole digging.
- 51:02Well, you see, I'm, um nothing if
- 51:05not stubborn. Um,
- 51:08stubborn as a mule.
- 51:11Wait, can I even roll again?
- 51:13You can, but I'm just going to warn you because of how
- 51:16tired you are, you're going to take a well, okay.
- 51:19Because all things considered, with rely on your skills and
- 51:21training, it explicitly says you can make it a full
- 51:24success, but you'll take a fatigue if you do.
- 51:27So, I mean, can I just roll again?
- 51:29Because I just rolled.
- 51:31No, I had that cheating,
- 51:34classic Connor Dice roll right there.
- 51:38I was like this and I'm like, yeah.
- 51:41It says you can accept the consequences, which are that you only cover
- 51:44one section.
- 51:44You want to succeed on that first mild success
- 51:47and get a fatigue.
- 51:49What's the alternative? We just have to reassess and figure
- 51:52something else out. Yeah, all right, let's just reassess.
- 51:56No, I'm not going that way.
- 51:58Well, what would you suggest anyway but that
- 52:01one. You're, uh, just no fun
- 52:04today, are you?
- 52:04Dude, I'm not a fan of fire.
- 52:07Fine. We'll go in the stupid foot
- 52:09tunnel.
- 52:10As long as there's not fire, I'm fine with it. All right.
- 52:13Foot tunnel.
- 52:15Secret foot tunnel.
- 52:16All right, so as you guys, you make your way back to
- 52:19the first chamber or I guess technically second that
- 52:22was the first chamber. Anyway, uh, you go down the tunnel with the
- 52:25marking of the foot. That looks thank you.
- 52:28Ah.
- 52:28As you guys make your way down, this, um,
- 52:31this one has a much fainter glow about it.
- 52:34And you quickly realize this because, uh, as you turn another
- 52:37corner, um, it opens up into
- 52:40a floor that is covered with
- 52:43hot coals and embers. Um,
- 52:46it's a very rounded out, almost a perfect
- 52:49circle through this tunnel. Like I said, the floor is covered
- 52:52with these coals. Um, there's some sort of
- 52:55flame or something underneath it that seems to keep these
- 52:58embers hot, but it doesn't really shoot through too
- 53:00much. Um, and as you look at the
- 53:03walls and the ceiling, you notice that there's this strange ooze
- 53:06that seems to be dripping down across it.
- 53:10Well, I don't have a problem with this because I got them calloused
- 53:13feet. So what's your problem?
- 53:16What's your idea here?
- 53:17I'm just going to walk across these coals.
- 53:20I can I don't know about you.
- 53:22How big is it?
- 53:23Uh, it is about 20ft long.
- 53:27Pain don't hurt.
- 53:28Pain don't hurt.
- 53:30I got the calloused feet.
- 53:31I'm good.
- 53:31I'll just walk across.
- 53:32What would be a better T shirt idea? Pain don't
- 53:35hurt, or I've got the calloused feet.
- 53:38I want to see him cross first.
- 53:40Okay, I'll just walk across. I'll saunter
- 53:42even I might even meander, how's he doing?
- 53:45Perhaps gallivant.
- 53:47As you take your first footstep onto the
- 53:50coals, you hear the sizzle of
- 53:52meat cooking, and you immediately
- 53:55pull your foot back because these
- 53:58temperatures are hot, hot. Much
- 54:01like a mattress store sale.
- 54:06Good analogy.
- 54:07That'd be great.
- 54:10Uh, I hear a loud
- 54:13coming out of the.
- 54:17Tom and Jerry type scream.
- 54:20Uh, how you doing there, Brock?
- 54:22I'm great. I was chilling.
- 54:24Why are you on the ground holding your foot?
- 54:26Don't worry about it. It's all good. I'll get there, I
- 54:29stumped my toe.
- 54:30Pain don't hurt. Pain don't hurt.
- 54:32It's a nice, easy walk. Kids do it.
- 54:34Only miko is here.
- 54:36Cool.
- 54:37That burn off real easy.
- 54:39All right, well, here's what I'm going
- 54:42to do. I'm going to try the other
- 54:45foot.
- 54:50You want to try the third tunnel before we figure out
- 54:53which one to do which one's the easiest?
- 54:55Yeah.
- 54:55Uh.
- 54:57I don't know.
- 54:58Maybe go back so stupid with your
- 55:00sensible ideas anyways.
- 55:03Come on, Brock.
- 55:04Be impulsive once in a while.
- 55:07Uh, bill leads Brock hopping on 1ft
- 55:10out of the tunnel and back to the chamber where they take
- 55:13the third and final tunnel that depicted a
- 55:16tornado uh, looking thing. And
- 55:19again, it's got a corner around the corner.
- 55:22This one's pretty well lit up, and you find
- 55:24yourselves, uh, it opens up into
- 55:27a sort of wide circular room.
- 55:30And in the middle of this room, there's a
- 55:32flaming vortex that just seems to be nonstop.
- 55:35Uh, there's a heavy wind that seems to be moving
- 55:38throughout this room. Um, you can kind of see
- 55:41some openings in the walls of the
- 55:44room that you wonder if maybe they're what are allowing
- 55:47the wind to kind of come through. You're not sure how. It's
- 55:50got to be something you can't see deeper into the tunnel
- 55:53or something, but it's pushing air through
- 55:56here, which is swirling around. And there's a
- 55:58tornado of literal flames swirling in
- 56:01the midst of this tunnel.
- 56:03Where are the flames coming from?
- 56:05Uh, it looks like the floor and the ceiling.
- 56:07There's some sort of, like, spout almost
- 56:10that is maintaining the flames in
- 56:13here.
- 56:13All right, time for impulsive idea number three.
- 56:16I'm going to try and earth bend a giant rock,
- 56:19and I'm just trying to plug the holes on the top and the
- 56:22bottom.
- 56:23Where are you pulling the rock from?
- 56:25Wasn't it like a stone? Oh, it's a stone floor. And if the
- 56:28flames are coming from the floor, I
- 56:31might just, um
- 56:35that's a great question. Uh,
- 56:38can I first feel the floor with my non
- 56:41charred feet in hands okay. To see if
- 56:44there's any heat coming from the
- 56:46ground? Is this a roll situation?
- 56:48No, um, I could tell you the
- 56:51heat is coming from the tornado for sure. The
- 56:54flaming vortex. Um, the
- 56:57ground and the walls of
- 57:00this open area seem to be
- 57:02reasonably, like, just warm but not
- 57:05hot. But the vortex
- 57:07itself, like the spinning flames, um, because
- 57:10it's so random and variating,
- 57:13uh, sometimes it winds out to the
- 57:16full length of the cavern, and sometimes it kind of pulls
- 57:19itself into a thinner vortex. Um, but
- 57:22it's not really in any kind of a pattern, so it's
- 57:25hard to like you wouldn't really be able to look at it and
- 57:28be like, one, two, three. Okay, go.
- 57:31You can see an opening in the tunnel or at the
- 57:34other end of this room. Of course.
- 57:36Mhm.
- 57:38All right, so given these three options,
- 57:41and leaving is not one of them.
- 57:43Yeah.
- 57:45Okay.
- 57:48Can I assess the situation?
- 57:50Sure.
- 57:51All right, here we go.
- 57:52You're really distracted by the flames. They're kind of
- 57:55freaking you out.
- 57:56Yeah.
- 57:56I wanted to look for if there's another one
- 57:59of those moss things.
- 58:01Moss? What do you mean by moss?
- 58:02Things we pulled earlier in the back.
- 58:05Well, I got a nine.
- 58:07Yeah.
- 58:07Okay.
- 58:08So I can assess uh, well, you don't see anything.
- 58:10Okay.
- 58:11Yeah.
- 58:13How many questions do I get to nine?
- 58:15You'd get one question.
- 58:16What year can I use to blank? Or what is biggest thread? What should
- 58:19I be able to look out for? Oh, what is our best
- 58:22way through on this
- 58:24one?
- 58:25Your best way through would be by
- 58:27blocking either one of the
- 58:29openings for the air or one of the openings
- 58:32for the fire.
- 58:34Well, I already thought of that.
- 58:39What if you close those things on the
- 58:42side? Close the things look
- 58:45and bill points at the holes on the side that are creating the
- 58:48wind. What if you just took
- 58:51your rock bending and you just closed those
- 58:53holes? Wouldn't it cause that tornado
- 58:56spinning effect to just stop and it would just be a pillar of heat in the
- 58:59middle and we could just walk around the edge of it.
- 59:01First of all, how dare you forgot like a rock bending. But secondly,
- 59:04I think that could work. So I'll
- 59:07earth bend the uh, air
- 59:10holes.
- 59:10Okay, now normally I'd say this is easy enough to
- 59:13do, but with your injured foot
- 59:16I'll have you rely on your skills and training.
- 59:19Yeah.
- 59:23I got a four.
- 59:27Or maybe it would have been Push Your Luck, but I don't think it.
- 59:30Really well, let's roll for Push Your luck.
- 59:34Well, if you have an addition to.
- 59:36It, I think I should roll again.
- 59:38So what's he do?
- 59:40I got an eight.
- 59:43I got double fours for the second
- 59:46roll.
- 59:46Okay, what'd you get for the first roll?
- 59:48I got a four. Don't worry about it.
- 59:50All right, so you go to
- 59:53do your earth bending and as soon as
- 59:56you realize that part of the form to
- 59:58do this earth bending requires the
- 1:00:01hurt foot. And so the second you slam that foot
- 1:00:04down, it just shrieks with burning pain
- 1:00:07and you immediately pull back and
- 1:00:10you're a little frustrated because
- 1:00:14you're semi disabled.
- 1:00:17In fact, one might say you are
- 1:00:20impaired.
- 1:00:21Oh. Am I impaired?
- 1:00:22Leg disabled.
- 1:00:24Uh, mark one fatigue or take
- 1:00:27minus two to all physical actions.
- 1:00:33Uh, jeez.
- 1:00:36Or choose one fewer
- 1:00:38techniques.
- 1:00:39Oh, that's for NPCs. Uh,
- 1:00:42so the first thing is for player
- 1:00:44characters. The other one. Uh, so if you ever
- 1:00:47inflicted an.
- 1:00:48NPC well,
- 1:00:51I would only have three potatoes. Mark
- 1:00:53one. Could I
- 1:00:57if you're going to mark the rest,
- 1:01:00I'm going to say can I mark the one fatigue
- 1:01:03but do it in order to have success
- 1:01:06and not because I'm impaired.
- 1:01:10Because if I'm losing one fatigue anyways, might as well have it
- 1:01:13actually work.
- 1:01:14Oh, you're saying for the realize.
- 1:01:16Well.
- 1:01:19I think that's only if you get the seven to nine, which does
- 1:01:22it imperfectly. Uh, if you get less than that, you're just
- 1:01:25failing completely.
- 1:01:27And I just got to choose now what I'm taking.
- 1:01:30Well, I think you choose that in the moment when you do
- 1:01:33something you'll either take minus two. Or you'll
- 1:01:36mark the fatigue.
- 1:01:38Oh, wait, my focus is plus one.
- 1:01:41Either way, it's a five.
- 1:01:43Okay.
- 1:01:44It's still a failure.
- 1:01:46You're poor foot.
- 1:01:48I think I'll minus two to my
- 1:01:50abilities.
- 1:01:52All of them.
- 1:01:53Um, well, it's just for physical if
- 1:01:56you're doing something, like, physically.
- 1:01:58So my entire brand.
- 1:02:03You'Ve, uh, really limited our group.
- 1:02:05Okay, well, it's a prequel. I got to
- 1:02:07survive.
- 1:02:08I didn't think we were going to die.
- 1:02:12It's a fun little cave explorer.
- 1:02:15Kids do it.
- 1:02:15Kids do it's. A fun little cave exploration.
- 1:02:18All right, so now that I am in pain
- 1:02:21okay.
- 1:02:22So Bill sees him writhing on the ground,
- 1:02:24and he's just going to kind of be like, okay, this
- 1:02:27guy, um, he's going to
- 1:02:30walk over to one of those holes that's creating the
- 1:02:33wind, and he's going to see what happens when
- 1:02:36he puts his hand against them.
- 1:02:38Okay. Um, you put your hand against it, you
- 1:02:41feel the air trickling through your fingers, but obviously you've kind
- 1:02:44of plugged up the majority of what's coming through.
- 1:02:47Um, what you see is that the vortex kind of
- 1:02:50slows a little bit on one side and kind of gets pushed ever
- 1:02:53so slightly to the
- 1:02:55actually towards your direction, because the air
- 1:02:58from the other sides of the cave are pushing it towards
- 1:03:01the one that doesn't have air coming through it.
- 1:03:03How many of these holes are there?
- 1:03:05Um, there's probably
- 1:03:08six, I believe.
- 1:03:09Six. Three on each side?
- 1:03:11Yeah.
- 1:03:12I mean, they're scattered about, so it's kind of like, ah, a diagonal
- 1:03:15line, almost.
- 1:03:16Okay. Yeah.
- 1:03:18Because if they were straight across from each other, they'd
- 1:03:21just be blowing this.
- 1:03:22And when he pushes his hand against the block, the hole
- 1:03:25does it feel like air is coming out of it?
- 1:03:27Yeah.
- 1:03:27And it's stone under us. Right, right.
- 1:03:32I can do it.
- 1:03:33I can earth bend.
- 1:03:40Can you Earth bend with your hands? Yeah.
- 1:03:43Now, your foot I mean, it's not.
- 1:03:45Going to be as good, but yeah.
- 1:03:47How about Earth bend dirt onto a stone
- 1:03:50to just solidify it? Yeah, I could do that.
- 1:03:52Okay.
- 1:03:52I'll be right back. And Bill's going to start taking off into the other
- 1:03:55room. You stay right here. Don't hurt your foot anymore.
- 1:03:57I'll just be here sitting in pain. Don't mind me.
- 1:04:00Bill is going to go run off to that hole that
- 1:04:03Brock made.
- 1:04:04Okay.
- 1:04:05And he is going to grab as much loose dirt as he
- 1:04:08can, and he's going to start filling up the extra bag he
- 1:04:11has on him.
- 1:04:11Okay.
- 1:04:12Because he has his pouch of his stuff that he was going to
- 1:04:15take to with.
- 1:04:15Just to clarify, this is a ten foot hole.
- 1:04:18Yeah.
- 1:04:18He's grabbing loose dirt on the side.
- 1:04:20Of the oh, on the side of the hole.
- 1:04:21He's just filling up the bag with the loose dirt.
- 1:04:23That bag back in the tree?
- 1:04:25No, he had his own bag.
- 1:04:27There was a couple he had a couple of bags.
- 1:04:29Okay. Yeah.
- 1:04:30You load up some dirt into this bag.
- 1:04:33Okay.
- 1:04:34Well, there's other clothes and stuff in it, so he's going to kind of, like,
- 1:04:37dump those off into, like, a corner. A corner where the
- 1:04:40moss sorry, the root
- 1:04:42was that little alcove kind of thing. He
- 1:04:45ditches his stuff, puts it away there. He
- 1:04:48grabs his dirt, it comes running back to Brock, and he
- 1:04:50goes, all right, Brock, you're going to
- 1:04:53put this dirt in this hole, and then you're just going to
- 1:04:56press your hands on it and you're just going to solidify it
- 1:04:59to block the hole.
- 1:05:01Okay.
- 1:05:02I would use mud and water, but.
- 1:05:04I don't got any.
- 1:05:05I have my spit.
- 1:05:07Uh, no, you don't need to spit.
- 1:05:10We're not waterbenders.
- 1:05:13You're a rock bender, not
- 1:05:16waterbender.
- 1:05:17I'm a what?
- 1:05:19Brock, don't take offense there's, earthbenders.
- 1:05:22You're a rock bender because you love rock so
- 1:05:24much.
- 1:05:26My name's Brock.
- 1:05:28Brock The Rock Bender.
- 1:05:29Brock Lee the Rock Bender
- 1:05:32All right.
- 1:05:33So I'm going to call this a help.
- 1:05:35Okay.
- 1:05:36So you'll do a fatigue.
- 1:05:38That's fine. I feel like that makes sense because I'm getting tired from running,
- 1:05:41because what I'm going to be doing is I'm going to be moving
- 1:05:44back and forth between him and doing this on the wall, and
- 1:05:47it's probably going to get me tired.
- 1:05:48It's going to take some time running.
- 1:05:49And moving and stuff.
- 1:05:51Absolutely.
- 1:05:51That makes sense.
- 1:05:52All right.
- 1:05:52And then, Brock, uh, I
- 1:05:55will let you do rely on your skills and training.
- 1:05:58And he gets a plus one.
- 1:05:59You get a plus.
- 1:06:00That's it.
- 1:06:02What about a plus? Oh, he gets another plus one because he assesses the
- 1:06:05situation. He's using the information to help him.
- 1:06:08I guess that's a plus one.
- 1:06:10So I'm back to zero because I have a minus two on
- 1:06:13all physical actions.
- 1:06:13Will this count, though, because he's not using his foot bill's,
- 1:06:16giving them the simplest action? He can just
- 1:06:19put dirt in a hole and just press it into it.
- 1:06:22Sure. Yeah.
- 1:06:23Since it's, uh, minimal physical activity for
- 1:06:25Brock, I'll let him do it at normal.
- 1:06:28Nice.
- 1:06:28Uh, so plus two extra to your normal.
- 1:06:31Because, I mean, the physical action was very like the
- 1:06:34impairment was explicitly his foot.
- 1:06:36So plus two to what? I roll? Plus
- 1:06:39the focus?
- 1:06:40Yeah.
- 1:06:40So I have a nine.
- 1:06:42A nine, okay. Um,
- 1:06:46you're able to get
- 1:06:48three well, you wouldn't even quite be able to get all
- 1:06:51three from one side. You're able to get two from
- 1:06:54one side and one from the other,
- 1:06:57which causes the flames to kind of move more
- 1:06:59upwards and focuses the vortex above you.
- 1:07:02That's cool.
- 1:07:03So we can just, like, lay fires.
- 1:07:05From the bottom and the top?
- 1:07:07Yeah, but it's kind of like just the way that you blocked out the
- 1:07:10it would push from above. So it'd actually be
- 1:07:13let's say you did the top ones, then okay.
- 1:07:16And then the one where below is just not even air holes are
- 1:07:19pushing it's. Just pushing it straight up. Uh, so the bottom,
- 1:07:22it kind of like narrows out the bottom of this twister and
- 1:07:25widens out this safer for.
- 1:07:27Us to just cross near the bottom.
- 1:07:29On, uh, the edge almost crawling. You could probably crawl.
- 1:07:31Crawl around the edge.
- 1:07:32Yeah. Okay.
- 1:07:34I think it looks good. We can just crawl across now.
- 1:07:36All right.
- 1:07:37It's just perfect for Brock.
- 1:07:38It's perfect because I can't use my foot.
- 1:07:41Right?
- 1:07:41Okay, well, Bill's going to be like, I'll be right back. And he's going to run
- 1:07:44back. He's going to empty whatever dirt
- 1:07:47hit the side of his bag to empty out the dirt through the hole. And
- 1:07:50he's going to load his stuff back up into whatever. He didn't have
- 1:07:53much. Uh, so it's like extra clothes and stuff,
- 1:07:56a little water canteen. But then he puts that back in his bag and
- 1:07:58he comes running back to Barack. He's like, all right, buddy,
- 1:08:01you can crawl. And we're going to start crawling across the bottom of this
- 1:08:04floor to the other side.
- 1:08:06All right. Uh, as you make
- 1:08:08it through, you make it to the end and it
- 1:08:11opens up once more into another chamber.
- 1:08:14And in this chamber, there's really
- 1:08:17not much here. Uh, there's a little bit of food and
- 1:08:20drink, which is nice. Um, and there
- 1:08:23is chalk ah, writing on the wall
- 1:08:26that simply reads the place
- 1:08:29through this tunnel. The place where dreams are
- 1:08:32blown up. And there's one
- 1:08:35tunnel to choose from this time. So not really even to choose
- 1:08:37from.
- 1:08:38It's just one tunnel.
- 1:08:40Well, I've never seen a bigger welcome
- 1:08:42sign. Let's do it, bro.
- 1:08:45Let go.
