- 0:01Adam: Hello and welcome to the Adam and Nature Show.
- 0:04Adam: Got another great one for you.
- 0:05Adam: As always.
- 0:06Adam: Yes.
- 0:07Adam: But uh before we get started on a wonderful afternoon.
- 0:12Adam: Who cares?
- 0:13Adam: Who cares?
- 0:18Adam: So we're having one from Mother Earth and really cool can art on this.
- 0:23Adam: It's kind of when I look at it, it almost reminds me of Player One.
- 0:28Adam: Ready Player One, kind of that uh collage, almost like it's almost like a video game and stuff.
- 0:34Dedra: I could see that.
- 0:35Adam: Yeah, and it's a hazy IPA, um 7.2%, and I love it.
- 0:41Adam: Says love your mother.
- 0:44Dedra: Damn straight.
- 0:45Dedra: Guys, go out there.
- 0:46Dedra: Everybody, love on your mother.
- 0:48Adam: Yep.
- 0:48Adam: So uh Mother Earth, they support that as well.
- 0:52Dedra: Damn straight.
- 0:53Dedra: So do I.
- 0:53Adam: And we had a really good weekend.
- 0:55Adam: I mean hold on.
- 0:56Dedra: Before you get any further into that, I just want to bring attention to my jersey because I am a huge, well, we're both huge Devon Back fans, but I just want to bring attention that I'm wearing my Johnson, Randy Johnson jersey.
- 1:08Dedra: Yeah.
- 1:09Dedra: Because today was game three that we played against uh Boston Red Sox.
- 1:14Dedra: Got whooped the first two games.
- 1:17Adam: Oh my god, did we?
- 1:19Dedra: Yeah.
- 1:20Dedra: That was rough.
- 1:21Adam: We'll talk about that though.
- 1:22Dedra: That was that was rough to watch.
- 1:24Dedra: Yeah.
- 1:24Dedra: But damn it, game three, we went into the 10th inning and beat the Red Sox in Fenway Park.
- 1:31Dedra: Didn't get swept.
- 1:32Dedra: That's right.
- 1:34Dedra: So I had to make sure I was represented.
- 1:37Dedra: And you you know I'm gonna represent anyways.
- 1:40Dedra: Winner or lose for Arizona, with the exception of football.
- 1:44Dedra: Yes.
- 1:45Dedra: Uh NFL.
- 1:46Dedra: I got I got college, ASU all the way.
- 1:49Dedra: Still representing Arizona, ASU all the way college.
- 1:53Dedra: But when it comes to NFL, you know, I've been a Cowboys fan longer than the Cardinals have been a team.
- 1:59Dedra: So don't don't come at me because I'm not a Cardinals fan.
- 2:02Dedra: Because my team's been longer, but they've been around longer than the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Cardinals, whatever you want to call them.
- 2:12Adam: They started in St.
- 2:13Adam: Louis, right?
- 2:14Adam: And then went to Chicago and or maybe vice versa.
- 2:17Adam: I can't even remember anymore.
- 2:18Adam: But doesn't matter.
- 2:19Adam: They they came to Arizona in 87, been a Cowboys fan before that.
- 2:23Dedra: Very true.
- 2:24Dedra: Very true.
- 2:25Dedra: But on the plus side, it football is back.
- 2:29Dedra: Football is back.
- 2:30Dedra: We're in preseason.
- 2:32Dedra: I don't care.
- 2:33Dedra: Preseason is still football.
- 2:35Dedra: Football is football.
- 2:36Dedra: Yeah.
- 2:37Dedra: Pre season or not, it still is football.
- 2:39Dedra: And TV is back.
- 2:43Adam: What is it?
- 2:44Adam: Two or three weeks until for game one.
- 2:47Adam: I can't even remember.
- 2:48Dedra: I think it's only two.
- 2:49Dedra: I think it's only two more weeks.
- 2:50Dedra: Two weeks?
- 2:51Adam: Okay.
- 2:51Adam: I know the first game is uh right around the ninth, I think it is, or I don't know.
- 2:56Adam: It's right around there, and I'm I'm just I'm excited about it.
- 2:59Adam: So it's gonna be fun.
- 3:01Dedra: But T D is good again.
- 3:03Adam: Yes, but to reduce the stress in this conversation, we can talk about our weekend because um we've been to places we already talked about, but we were in uh Roosevelt Row again and went to some amazing places.
- 3:19Adam: I just love all the places that we go to.
- 3:22Adam: It's almost like a most routine, I would say, but each time is a slightly different experience.
- 3:28Adam: The beers are different, the places are the very similar or the same or very close to it, but there's a handful of places that I feel like we have to go to, but we get different beers each time, and I think it's wonderful.
- 3:43Dedra: Right.
- 3:44Dedra: And I feel like that area is almost like our home away from home because it is so close, but they change, you know, the types of beers that they have on tap, the types of beers in general, and it I love it.
- 3:58Dedra: I absolutely love it.
- 4:00Dedra: So anytime that we have the opportunity, we get to go to downtown Phoenix.
- 4:04Dedra: I'm all for it because again, you know, it's almost like our home away from home.
- 4:09Dedra: And it's not very often that we get out to the extreme east side.
- 4:14Dedra: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:15Dedra: Just midtown proximity.
- 4:17Dedra: Yes, it's it's easier for us to get to downtown Phoenix than it is on the east side.
- 4:22Dedra: So that's why we're a little bit more partial to downtown Phoenix.
- 4:28Dedra: Yeah.
- 4:28Dedra: Even though we love the east side, there's plenty of great breweries out there.
- 4:32Dedra: It's just it's hard to get out there.
- 4:34Adam: I know, but coming soon.
- 4:35Dedra: Yeah, be there again very soon, actually.
- 4:39Adam: Yep.
- 4:39Adam: But uh, we're gonna talk about the Theodore because that place needs some attention.
- 4:44Adam: It's a great place.
- 4:46Adam: Um, we talked about the wandering tortoise before on this show.
- 4:49Adam: Uh Theodore is actually owned by the same group, and they have another couple places that we'll actually be at uh in the in the coming weeks here.
- 4:58Adam: It's the Sleepy Whale.
- 4:59Adam: Their original one was out in Gilbert, I think, or way the hell out there, somewhere way out on the east side.
- 5:06Adam: And they just uh put another one in Central Phoenix also, so we'll be going to that very soon, I think.
- 5:12Adam: Yeah, but the Theodore, I love it.
- 5:14Adam: Uh Roosevelt Row, obviously, Theodore Roosevelt.
- 5:17Adam: It kind of goes with the theme.
- 5:19Adam: There's a speakeasy right near there called the uh Rough Riders, yes.
- 5:26Adam: Thanks for helping me out with that.
- 5:28Adam: You're welcome.
- 5:28Dedra: That's what I'm here for.
- 5:30Adam: Yep, but that Roosevelt Row is very themed uh for Theodore Roosevelt and the Theodore, amazing, amazing bar.
- 5:39Adam: Not only do they have a great tap menu, they also have a very good can selection there, all craft beer, just absolutely wonderful stuff.
- 5:49Adam: And this trip didn't disappoint.
- 5:52Dedra: No, it did not.
- 5:54Dedra: No, it was good stuff.
- 5:56Dedra: And if you've never been there, I highly suggest going there.
- 6:00Dedra: I highly recommend it.
- 6:01Dedra: It's a speakeasy, it's not one of those places that you go down behind of a building, a set of stairs where there's a red light.
- 6:09Dedra: It's not that easy.
- 6:10Dedra: The just Rough Riders, the way that it's set up is you really gotta go through like a series of area.
- 6:17Dedra: And then you it even when you get to where you think you're supposed to be, you're still kind of like this doesn't seem right.
- 6:24Dedra: I don't I don't get it.
- 6:25Dedra: Yeah, exactly.
- 6:26Dedra: You're in a lobby of like a business or something, it feels like it it's almost like an art gallery that you walk through in that uh just that the whole area where you walk through because it's all glass windows, and I feel like it's very artsy.
- 6:42Dedra: I feel like there's a lot of paintings, a lot of drawings, and it doesn't feel like a lobby of any sort.
- 6:47Dedra: No.
- 6:48Dedra: And you go to these elevators, and if you don't choose the right elevator, you're not getting there.
- 6:56Adam: Yeah, and you go to the basement and you walk into uh converted old mail room that uh super cool.
- 7:05Dedra: Super, super neat.
- 7:06Adam: We didn't go there on this trip though.
- 7:08Dedra: No, we didn't, but I but like we said, if you ever have the opportunity, definitely go check it out.
- 7:15Dedra: Go check it out.
- 7:16Adam: Yes, but we went to the Theodore, which is I'm I'm gonna say like two buildings over or something like that.
- 7:24Adam: And great calf.
- 7:26Adam: I'm already thinking about the beer that we had there.
- 7:29Adam: My mouth's watering.
- 7:30Adam: So Anchorage Brewing is an amazing brewery.
- 7:34Adam: They do such good stouts, barrel age stuff.
- 7:39Adam: But to see uh triple hazy, I think it was a 10% can.
- 7:45Adam: I was like, yep, that's gonna be the one I'm having right now.
- 7:49Adam: And uh of course, there's always a trend with me getting some anything that's double or triple, I'm gonna have it because it's just the flavor, it's just ah, just like it's a flavor punch.
- 7:59Adam: It's so good.
- 8:00Adam: And this one doesn't disappoint.
- 8:02Adam: Uh, this is the first IPA that I had from Anchorage Brewing.
- 8:05Adam: All I've had was uh stouts and barley wines, and hazy was right up there.
- 8:11Adam: I mean, it was really good, and uh for the level that we normally have, I I'm gonna say it's it's near the top.
- 8:18Adam: Can't be the top.
- 8:19Adam: I mean, there's quite a few breweries that are just so freaking good.
- 8:23Adam: This one is is up there though, above above most.
- 8:28Adam: I enjoyed it.
- 8:29Dedra: I ended up having a sour by Great Notion, and it was a watermelon and dragon fruit, but it was a goze.
- 8:37Dedra: Um, not my normal sours because I love the the smoothie sours.
- 8:42Dedra: So this was a little bit different than my normal course, but I still appreciate it a lot.
- 8:48Dedra: It was just it was light and it was very refreshing.
- 8:51Dedra: And just sometimes during the summer, especially in Phoenix, when the summers are ridiculously hot, you just want something that's gonna be refreshing and cool, and just like, ah, this is good.
- 9:03Dedra: This is exactly what I need to be sipping on.
- 9:05Dedra: And you don't always want a smoothie sour where it's like, oh gosh, I'm full, you know, like beerful versus foodful is very different.
- 9:17Adam: And I feel like watermelon is one of those things that in the summertime, you can be sweaty, but have a watermelon and you're you're you're chilling out pretty good.
- 9:27Dedra: Yeah, that almost solves all of summer's problems.
- 9:32Dedra: But hot and sweaty, get a watermelon.
- 9:35Dedra: Hot and sweaty, get a watermelon alcoholic drink, even better.
- 9:40Adam: A uh a fruited goze or sour, yeah.
- 9:43Adam: No, that was good.
- 9:44Adam: Watermelon and dragon fruit.
- 9:46Adam: What an interesting convers or uh conversation, what an interesting combination.
- 9:51Adam: That that's just really cool.
- 9:52Adam: And to be it is yes, to be honest, like walking into the Theodore, it has that industrial kind of feel to it.
- 9:59Adam: So they have like a wraparound bar, like a whole U-shaped bar.
- 10:03Adam: Really cool.
- 10:04Adam: They have the can selection all off to the one side in what is that, four or five coolers right at there?
- 10:10Adam: Yeah.
- 10:10Adam: Chalkboard with all their beers that are up on top there.
- 10:14Dedra: When Arizona is playing a game, whether it's the Diamondbacks or the Suns, you know, and the crowds are there.
- 10:22Dedra: But if we're there at the theater and we're just people watching, you know, on the front part of the theater, which faces south, we get to people watch all the traffic, and it's it just the people walking down the street to and from, not even just going to the games, but just in general.
- 10:39Dedra: It's so fun.
- 10:40Dedra: It is, yeah.
- 10:41Dedra: And then you have just like great beer on top of it.
- 10:44Dedra: It's it's really what you need.
- 10:46Dedra: I mean, what more?
- 10:47Dedra: What more could you ask for in that type of situation?
- 10:50Dedra: It's a ton of fun.
- 10:51Adam: But being 13 million degrees, we weren't able to do that.
- 10:55Adam: And they have the section.
- 10:56Adam: Safely, safely, yes, without like melting into a pile of whatever that witch from Wizard of Oz turned into.
- 11:05Adam: Weird green goo green goo would have turned into.
- 11:09Adam: But they have this section also uh where they have a few couches where it's almost like a lounge area too.
- 11:16Adam: And so it was like fun.
- 11:17Adam: Yeah, it was often in like a little annex section, I would say, of the of the bar, and I thought it was really cool.
- 11:22Dedra: That was an area where I could feel definitely, I just I felt very comfortable, and I was like, I could easily fall asleep and take a nap and steal my beer.
- 11:31Dedra: Yeah.
- 11:32Dedra: So I I we we sat there for nostalgic purposes, took a few pictures, and then I was like, we gotta get out of here.
- 11:40Dedra: They start getting real comfortable.
- 11:42Dedra: Oh man.
- 11:44Dedra: But but that just tells you the type of place that you know the theodore is.
- 11:49Dedra: It's a very warm and welcoming, great place.
- 11:52Dedra: They've got great beers, and what was that movie?
- 11:57Adam: Was it uh oh man, it was the one with Seth Rogan where he oh knocked up where he and then they go to Vegas, and there's like they're like, we have 13 different chairs inside of this hotel room.
- 12:12Adam: He's like, he goes, I don't like the energy in this chair.
- 12:15Adam: Let's move to this chair.
- 12:16Adam: I feel like he did that.
- 12:20Adam: Yeah.
- 12:20Adam: Oh man.
- 12:22Adam: But that was good.
- 12:23Adam: And um, after we moved over there, we ended up having another beer, and one of the breweries that I talked about at that beer festival, the salt toast, when we were in San Diego, was the Mistorium.
- 12:35Adam: And I never I don't remember their beers, okay.
- 12:39Adam: They're hazy's specifically, and I thought that was one of the best hazies that we had during that trip.
- 12:45Adam: We went to that place and they had one on tap, and I'm like, oh my god, I can't believe it.
- 12:49Adam: After saying I'd never seen this before, we're sitting there at freaking the theodore, and they got that on tap, so I had to get it.
- 12:57Adam: And it was called I don't know, it's like in French, but I think it was Miss Samort.
- 13:03Adam: If I'm pronouncing that horribly, forgive me, I don't speak French.
- 13:08Adam: But it was another triple hazy IPA at 10%, and solid.
- 13:15Adam: Oh my god, it was good.
- 13:16Adam: Now, if I had to choose between that Messorium and the Anchorage, that would be a really difficult choice because I mean I had them back to back and I enjoyed both of them so much, they were different, but uh I could not choose a fra favorite between the two.
- 13:33Adam: It was it was they are both so good.
- 13:36Dedra: Interesting, because I was just gonna read to ask you.
- 13:38Dedra: You speak so highly of both with your experience.
- 13:41Dedra: Yeah.
- 13:42Dedra: And I was just about to ask you, what would you recommend one or over the other?
- 13:48Dedra: What would be the deciding factor?
- 13:52Adam: They're both 10%.
- 13:53Adam: They're both uh triple hazy IPAs, they're both hazy's.
- 13:59Adam: I would say the masorium one was a little bit of a thicker mouth fill than the Anchorage one.
- 14:06Adam: And so the Anchorage one had a little bit more of a fruity taste, where the Messorium was a little bit thicker and a little bit more of a um I don't know, I don't even know how to describe that.
- 14:19Adam: Like a like the thicker, hazy like this one I would consider a little bit of a lighter, more like that Anchorage.
- 14:24Adam: So the one was a little bit more fruity, one was a little bit more floral, I'm gonna say, a little bit had a little bit of that um that bite to it.
- 14:32Adam: So that those that was the difference.
- 14:34Adam: I love both the styles, but the Anchorage one I would say maybe it was a little bit more fruit on the fruity side.
- 14:39Adam: Now, would I choose one or the other?
- 14:42Adam: I don't know.
- 14:43Adam: I still don't know.
- 14:44Adam: It's it's a tough choice because they're different, and I guess it would depend on the mood.
- 14:49Adam: If you if you wanted something, I can't really call it lighter because that 10% alcohol, it's not light.
- 14:54Dedra: So that would be almost like saying, Okay, who's your favorite child?
- 14:59Adam: Yeah, that's not gonna happen.
- 15:02Dedra: I get it, I understand.
- 15:04Dedra: I understand.
- 15:05Dedra: It and it did sound like you really enjoyed both of them.
- 15:10Dedra: Um, but I decided to stick with Great Notion.
- 15:14Adam: Yeah, with that great notion that you got with that uh seedless, right?
- 15:18Dedra: I was saying, I think I stuck with Great Notion because like they hit it at the park the first time with my first drink.
- 15:24Dedra: So I was like, you know what?
- 15:25Dedra: I can't go wrong.
- 15:26Dedra: I'm gonna go with another great notion.
- 15:27Dedra: And I decided to get a blueberry marshmallow shake, which is a fruited sour.
- 15:32Dedra: That one was one.
- 15:33Dedra: Yeah, I was saying this one, it was a fruited sour.
- 15:37Dedra: But unlike the last one, the seedless watermelon with dragon fruit, that one that was on the lighter side.
- 15:43Dedra: That was a six percent.
- 15:45Dedra: And I chose that specifically just to kind of get the feel for things instead of just jumping in with both feet.
- 15:52Dedra: And then once I was just like, yes, nailed it.
- 15:55Dedra: All right, I'm jumping in both feet, 9%, give me that fruited sour.
- 15:59Dedra: That was really good.
- 16:01Dedra: Like when I love when I I love my thick sours, um, and this was definitely one of the the sours that I was like, woo, give me another.
- 16:11Dedra: But it's so filling, so you can only have so many of those thick sours.
- 16:17Adam: Um I'm okay with that because you know one thing I noticed while we were there is they had a lot of beers from North Park too.
- 16:26Adam: I don't know if you noticed that, but I would say like a third of the menu was all North Park beers.
- 16:31Adam: They had the uh, what is that guy's name?
- 16:34Adam: Sheets, holy sheets.
- 16:36Adam: They had uh their their you're gonna yawn?
- 16:39Adam: I'm tired.
- 16:40Dedra: Sorry.
- 16:41Dedra: I was trying to like uh the face and like nope, nope.
- 16:46Adam: They had the hot foos, they had they actually had a decent selection of the North Park beers, and I'm like looking at them like damn.
- 16:53Adam: I saw all those when we were there.
- 16:55Dedra: Yes, they really did over there at the theater.
- 16:58Dedra: That was really surprising, and I don't know if it was just because it was more top of mind to us that we were more sensitive to just recognizing how much North Park there that they had.
- 17:09Dedra: But I know just the theodore in general has a really great selection of canned beers that you know you can open and enjoy there and just take home.
- 17:19Dedra: Yeah, and I really, really appreciate that about the theodore.
- 17:23Dedra: It's just the variety.
- 17:24Adam: Absolutely.
- 17:25Adam: And had a great time there.
- 17:28Adam: Yeah, we'd leave, walk one block over, cross the road.
- 17:33Adam: Arizona wilderness was right there.
- 17:35Adam: We went there uh recent recently.
- 17:38Adam: But we got two beers, or one beer each, I should say, just because we had to, and both of them were themed, like the Looney Tunes, and they they matched.
- 17:48Dedra: Yes, yes.
- 17:50Adam: So I got uh it was the coyote and Roadrunner.
- 17:53Adam: So I got the coyote beer called Gravity is the Enemy.
- 17:57Adam: It's a black IPA, and it had like a little picture of the coyote on the little chalkboard drawing of it.
- 18:05Adam: So it's a really good uh black IPA, and that you actually took a drink of it, and so that was much different than the black IPA we had here during the show.
- 18:14Adam: Uh, what was that last week or the week before?
- 18:16Adam: I can't remember.
- 18:17Dedra: Me neither, but it was probably two weeks ago.
- 18:20Dedra: I don't think it was last week.
- 18:22Adam: But you got the Roadrunner beer.
- 18:25Dedra: I did, and that was actually the hazy, and it was contrary to the gravity use the enemies.
- 18:33Dedra: So it was the meep, meep, hazy IP.
- 18:36Adam: You gotta do it with the the voice.
- 18:38Dedra: Uh meep, meep.
- 18:40Adam: Oh my god, that's the worst I ever heard.
- 18:43Adam: Oh man, for all the Looney Tune fans, all the people who the Roadrunner just killed them all.
- 18:49Dedra: I only do impressions when I am being condescending.
- 18:54Adam: Oh, okay.
- 18:55Adam: That was quite condescending, by the way.
- 18:57Adam: So but all the Looney Tune fans are still like rolling over right now.
- 19:02Adam: So I got the meep, meep.
- 19:05Dedra: So I got the hazy.
- 19:07Dedra: I got the hazy IPA, no surprise.
- 19:09Adam: You gotta do the tongue thing too, though.
- 19:12Dedra: Oh, it was like I was like, what?
- 19:17Dedra: But that one was actually a little bit higher.
- 19:19Dedra: That was at a 7.8%.
- 19:22Dedra: So compared to like the regular hazes that I typically get, that was a little bit high for me.
- 19:26Dedra: So pretty good.
- 19:27Dedra: You know, it was good.
- 19:28Dedra: It was good, it was very refreshing.
- 19:30Dedra: I love Arizona wilderness just because it's like it's so big and their drink menus are always changing and they're the variety.
- 19:38Dedra: And I love that they're just so Arizona based and they share the love, the collaborations, just everything.
- 19:46Dedra: It was just Arizona all about it.
- 19:49Dedra: But I mean, okay, I mean AZ wilderness.
- 19:53Adam: I know.
- 19:54Adam: Kind of makes sense, right?
- 19:55Adam: But that uh that black IPA hat, I was actually surprised too because that was at 8.1%.
- 20:00Adam: So that one was like, I mean, grow some hairs on your chest.
- 20:04Adam: It was a great beer.
- 20:05Adam: I mean, you're it was your meet, meet, meet, meep, and the uh gravity is in the you didn't do the tongue thing.
- 20:11Adam: Oh, yeah.
- 20:14Adam: I feel like I have gravity is in me, but I gotta be holding a sign and fall someone off a cliff or something.
- 20:20Adam: It was good.
- 20:21Adam: So we just stopped there for the one real quick, and then we just kept going down the road like one more block over, or maybe two blocks over.
- 20:29Adam: Sana sauna.
- 20:30Adam: We went to their anniversary, and Deedra had to have finally got their chamoida.
- 20:38Dedra: Chamoyata.
- 20:40Dedra: Oh my god.
- 20:40Dedra: I sorry, I was just so excited.
- 20:43Dedra: Yeah, okay, really.
- 20:44Dedra: I was that but I was just excited to finally get it because I have been talking about it and ever since their anniversary, I was I've been thinking about it because you know Arizona is hot, and I was just like, ooh, a chamoyata, like that's up my alley.
- 21:02Dedra: That's gonna be everything that I'm encompassing like for summer.
- 21:06Dedra: And then on top of that, it was a 10%.
- 21:09Dedra: Oh, yeah.
- 21:09Dedra: So I was just like, I I have to come back for this, and damn it, I got it.
- 21:16Dedra: I I went back and I finally got it.
- 21:19Dedra: As busy as we have been, finally made it a point, went down there to Sana Sana.
- 21:24Dedra: Hey, you guys killed it with that chamoyata.
- 21:28Dedra: That was every any and everything.
- 21:30Dedra: Like that should be the drink of summer.
- 21:34Dedra: That should be the drink of summer, the summer drink, the drink of summer, whatever you want to call it, that should be what it what it is.
- 21:41Adam: Yes.
- 21:42Dedra: And it was it was refreshing.
- 21:44Dedra: It wasn't sweet, and I appreciate that.
- 21:48Adam: Um, because if it's Chamoy, then that that's pretty sweet as it is.
- 21:53Dedra: And and I was kind of expecting it to have almost I I don't know why, but I was almost expecting it to have it like almost like a
- 22:00Adam: uh a margarita little bit of a sweetness to it but it didn't and that's what i really appreciated is that i could have one maybe two if i'm careful if i'm careful yeah two 10 percent in the last place i was just like finally finally getting this oh my god so if anybody is out there you're a fan of margaritas and chamoy go to sauna sauna go get that chamoy arita it's not gonna do you wrong you are gonna be happy you're gonna be satisfied you're gonna want to go back every Saturday every Sunday every Friday every Tuesday every day that they're open and we're in this heat advisory this heat wave just go there and have one of those that will take that will not make you angry because of the heat yes we're at a 115 our humidity 107 just kidding it sure feels like I know it's probably like at 25 but still it's that that still sucks because everybody's like oh it's a dry heat okay well what about when it's 115 and the humidity is at like 27 30 then it is then it's just like man what are we doing and we've been across this country and I still feel as much as the humidity is bad I mean when you're in the middle of summertime in the middle of the freaking day that just sucks you just walk outside and it's just like ah it's miserable you get in your car it's just freaking miserable you have your air blasting you you drive for 20 30 minutes and you're still sweating because your car still hasn't cooled off so drive your ass go to Sana Sana get your tramway out of cool off and just be chill it's good stuff I had one it was a collaboration they did and one thing I really like about Sana Sana is they actually they have a pretty good rotating menu as well.
- 23:58Adam: They do they do yeah so like I they had the the couple of their flagships that I that they um always have and I'm like I'm gonna go with something different.
- 24:08Adam: I got one called the fox and the frog and it was a collaboration with Phantom Fox so the mascot or the I don't know whatever the heck uh Sana Sana has for their I don't know what do you call it their brand it has the frog la rana if you want to go with both of yeah and so they they called it the fox and the frog so it was a collaboration between the Phantom Fox which is a brewery out in Mesa Arizona and then uh Sana Sana and they it was a double IPA West Coast style good it was it was it was very good.
- 24:45Adam: I mean one of there's not many double IPAs that I don't like and this one was a little bit lighter though so it was surprising so that one was at 8.9% yet I feel like it drank still a little light.
- 25:00Adam: It was it it didn't have a lot of like that malty flavor not a lot of like the caramel flavors and stuff like that that they put usually in the higher I ABV stuff it was actually a little bit lighter I felt like in in mouthfill in flavor it was it was it was a lighter double IPA if that is that an oxymoron I'm not even sure so in other words it's one of those sneaky beers that doesn't drink like an almost nine percent but you have two you're definitely going to be feeling feeling but they only they pour it and it's I I feel like it's funny because they're ounces uh they have the the regular pint that you can get but when it's the 8.9% they have to put it in a smaller glass and it's not like a 10 ounce it's not like an even number at all they're like nope we're giving you an 11 ounce which I'm like all right give me the 11 ounce and I and I I feel like they feel so bad when they do that too they're like because of the AVB I just want to let you know it only comes in 11 ounces.
- 26:04Adam: And it's not like it's new.
- 26:06Dedra: No I appreciate that because remember when we were out in California and we both ordered these beers and I was just like hey wait a minute why is my beer half the size of yours remember it was like a difference of half a percent.
- 26:20Dedra: Yes but not literally no but I mean when you get your beer and it's a lot smaller than what you were thinking and you know the waiter not waiter but the bartender beer tender they come out and they give you your cup and you know the first thing people are going to do is they're gonna look at the cup and they're gonna be like um why is my cup small how come my cup's not filled all the way you know so yeah I get it I understand.
- 26:49Adam: I do too but then I looked at your chamoyata and I'm like that's 10% and it's like freaking like a monster compared to mine.
- 26:56Adam: What's up with that?
- 26:59Dedra: All right we're gonna have to end it with that one that's where I was going with it okay that is pretty valid though like how come my slushy was 10 and I still got a 16 hey but you enjoy the hell out of it right hell yeah I did all right I'm I'm not complaining.
- 27:17Adam: I now you got me complaining I wasn't complaining before but now that you make a valid point where mine was 10% and I got 16 ounces and you got like four and yours was like 8.6 8.7% made me feel big drinking uh out of a small glass but I had another IPA after that so I was good but what was your next IPA what did you end up getting after that it was called neighborhood music 2.0 oh so I'm not exact I haven't had the 1.0 or even if they called it a 1.0 or maybe the original I don't know maybe they just redid a similar item but maybe it tasted the flavor profiles came out a little different or something but uh that was a good IPA I enjoyed it I liked it probably better than the fox and the frog and not because of how light the the fox and the frog was it was just I feel like it had a little bit more flavor to it and I don't know if maybe it was the hops that they used maybe it was the malls that they used I just had I felt like it had a little bit more flavor to it and I do appreciate that.
- 28:27Dedra: So after I had my chamoyata um I ended up getting a 90s kid which is a hazy no surprise and and don't you chill don't judge you you guys you guys already knew I was going with the hazy so don't even start I had my day full of hazy but that's just true that is true you're typically not a hazy all day person where me I'm hey I'm hazy all day but I had a 90s kid that was a hazy and it was seven and a half percent and that was great like because we ended up eating there was a food truck that came food truck just started backing in right there in front of sauna sauna and I was like oh snap looking for microphones did they hear me right I was just like okay a taco food truck is just now backing in to I was like yep that's what actually prompted our second beer because we saw them were like nope we're staying here we're gonna have some of that and boy did we oh that was so good so I'm trying to think of the foods that we got you you got we got a couple tacos you got a carne sala we got an al pastor taco and a burrito and it was a I think it was just like a a regular burrito they had all kinds of stuff in there but you got to pick whatever meat that you wanted inside there based on pastor the chicken the uh uh carne sala that they they had like a uh handful of choices we ended up getting carne sala in that one and that was that's my weakness carne asada is my weakness and that and pork belly chicharron oh my god boy is that my weakness oh man like I don't know how if you were to kidnap me I don't know if which would kidnap me first like would I go based on like if you just did a trail of carne asada tacos a trail of pork belly or a trail of chicharoons or shit a trail of Miller Light or bourbon yeah uh Miller Light a lot of things or chips and salsa Miller Light just you know just kidding just just to say it's gonna it's gonna win but don't kidnap me please yeah please don't I I like having her I don't think I would enjoy that but the one of the greatest things about this food truck so we're waiting for the food so we go into a lot of Mexican food restaurants and they have the whole salsa bar.
- 31:01Adam: So they put us this food truck put a salsa bar in front of their food truck.
- 31:07Adam: So like you're just like scooping all the salsas I they probably had like 15 varieties of salsa this place is called taco vibes.
- 31:15Dedra: I don't know if we mentioned that before took some pictures with them and uh I know we've shared we've definitely shared it and we blew them up because that was so good.
- 31:26Adam: Oh my god we had I think three out of the 15 sals right I don't I don't know how many I grabbed I but they also had like the pickled onions they had the jalapenos they had like oh no no each like the tacos and the and the uh burrito both came they put a grilled jalapeno on each plate and then we also got like all the pickled vegetables we got the salsas we got the red onions we got the just regular onions and cilantro we got like the whole array of stuff and I just remember I don't think we talked during that whole time we were eating we didn't need to it was like I took like we shared everything and for me I love just the the jalapenos the grilled jalapenos jalapenos that was good I I mean I'll take pickled on just like regular nachos but with my food food grilled grilled grilled all the way fresh and whenever I eat my carne asada tacos I'm very clean with it I want just onions and cilantro i'll have I'll add a little bit of hot sauce but I love the true flavor that the carne asada gives plus the corn tortilla just that rich flavor.
- 32:47Dedra: I don't want to have all that extra covering up that flavor like I want that flavor.
- 32:54Dedra: So I do very basic on my carne asada tacos because I'm like I just I want that true rich flavor.
- 33:02Dedra: Everything else like oh my gosh just the toppings like and I love just like having cucumbers cute I love cucumbers in general and I love having it on the side and that's also what they had on the side as well they had just they had everything at that salsa bar.
- 33:18Dedra: Oh my God I could have I would have given them$20 just to eat at that salsa bar.
- 33:26Dedra: I've just been like give me a little tray of chips and I would have just had my day at your salsa bar.
- 33:32Dedra: I didn't need any meat but having their their carne asada and everything that you ordered with it and just sampling what you had oh it was so so good it was really good.
- 33:44Adam: So awesome awesome job taco vibes like yeah we split up a burrito so oh yes oh my god that burrito I I don't even know honestly how we made it like everywhere afterwards we must have walked to the rest of the places because after what we had ate there was um yeah there's no there was we rolled and it was what we did tucked our knees grabbed our head and just rolled but the I mean with uh the burrito we had the avocado salsa we had the like the hot the mild and I was just going bite after bite and it was all dripping through at the same time I and then I had that al pastor I know you don't care for too much because of the uh pineapple that they usually put inside of those right but I had like the pickled onions inside of there and the avocado salsa and just oh my god it was so good and so I got the pastor you got the carninsada tacos and then we shared the burrito and that was great experience and and we sat there probably had our beer sitting right there and we just like went to town didn't talk I don't even think eye contact was more like and just to see the other person's reaction about the things that they're eating and you're like and it was just yeah because it was just like mm-hmm mm enjoy the hell out of that it was so good very good so taco vibes awesome job you guys killed it I appreciate it that was wonderful and uh I mean a good close to to to the day too to the weekend to the weekend because we did go on a Sunday we did yes so it's like we had work the next day so we had to cut it off early that's why we're able to get like you know I'm gonna call that a lunar because it was kind of in the afternoon and I don't think we could have ate when we got home.
- 35:46Dedra: Oh absolutely not that was but I I'm not mad at that no that was perfect perfect perfect day yes but uh guess what our beers are telling us again that we're all done it was a perfect perfect weekend I loved it enjoy the hell out of it it was yeah it was definitely another great weekend despite you know record breaking heat and all this stuff but you know what sauna sauna had the perfect solution the chamoyata the carne asada tacos the taco vibes the food truck everything they had to offer the Theodore Arizona wilderness I mean even though it's hot outside go inside support your local craft breweries get a great ice cold craft beer that is gonna make you forget that it is muggy and super thick and hot outside and then if you go from like one place to the next as long as it's only a block over you start getting sweaty and then you go right back into the air conditioning and just an amazing time talking about it too.
- 37:03Dedra: So cheers everybody cheers and until next time.
- 37:06Adam: Yes we got some more fun stuff planned and we can't wait to talk about it because you guys all get to join in with us.
- 37:14Dedra: And the next episode I believe we're gonna be heading out to the east or east side we'll hit some more wonderful places we haven't talked about before so come back next week.
- 37:27Adam: We can't wait.
- 37:28Adam: Until then cheers guys cheers and love you guys
