- 3:12Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That whatever come our whatever may come our way, we continue to stand in the truth of knowing who our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is, and that everything at his name, Jesus Christ hearkened and obeys as a truth that God grows us up to know and then embody and that truth that Jesus is Lord.
- 4:01Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Hello, my friends.
- 4:04Host, Vicki L. Thompson: You know, in the off-season prepared a new series for the teaching podcast, the teaching podcast of understanding the Bible truths and principles, and thus the Holy Scriptures.
- 4:28Host, Vicki L. Thompson: We started a new series, and we pray that if you will Google or search whatever engine, you life and God podcast, and download episodes.
- 4:46Host, Vicki L. Thompson: First of all, one was entitled Heaven, and it speaks of abiding with God, all believers, and in eternity, then we start the season of the series that's entitled The Signs of the End.
- 5:11Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So we pray, my friends, that for that edifying and the building up of faith as the Holy Spirit guides each one of us, that we will tune in, that we will download.
- 5:30Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Listen, and also there's a scriptural reference, as well as biblical summaries.
- 5:41Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Please study both one of them, both of them, the audio, the biblical summaries, and the scriptural references as God, the Holy Spirit, and our Lord leads as we as He knows where He's taking each one of us and where we need to be, and what we need to hear, experience, and receive in greater measures from Him.
- 6:13Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And it actually results in, as most of us know, taking us through some difficult times so we can trust Him even the more.
- 6:26Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And our faith can grasp whole of the impossible.
- 6:32Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Whether we're rich or whether we're poor.
- 6:36Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Of everything that God says He's going to do, He's gonna do it.
- 6:41Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And then in the meanwhile, it ain't us to grow up of what to do in the meanwhile.
- 6:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: This leads to the topic or the title of today's Talk,.
- 6:54Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It is the juxtaposition of fate, of fate and circumstance.
- 7:06Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The juxtaposition of fate and circumstance.
- 7:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And while we were on the off season, this is not off the cuff, my friends.
- 7:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: God led us through to be able to share with you.
- 7:32Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And for both of us both you and me.
- 7:39Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And thus we all were joined together and hear and listen.
- 7:47Host, Vicki L. Thompson: We pray with hearkening ears that God is still yet growing us up again.
- 7:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I Have to say that the topic well prepared, not prepared, but was well given some time ago of these early talks, and we're very glad of the ministering and the growing up and the content, the context, and the framework and the mode by which God wants to use us to share.
- 8:35Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And in my friends, in sharing, we pray that we each will receive what God has for each one of us on this day, my friend.
- 8:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: This is Vicki, and you are tuned in to You Life in God Podcast Radio Live.
- 9:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: We've begun a little early, my friends.
- 9:05Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Don't worry.
- 9:06Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The will of the God prompts us.
- 9:11Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And when it's time, it's time.
- 9:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And my friends, in that the juxtaposition of fate, F A T E and circumstance.
- 9:30Host, Vicki L. Thompson: He's gonna walk us to the point of our Lord.
- 9:37Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The moment in which one man hunger.
- 9:45Host, Vicki L. Thompson: One on the left side and one on the right side.
- 9:52Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And let's see all that God wants to share.
- 9:59Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Have some humor and that premise of a new day.
- 10:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Fate.
- 10:08Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And as you were like me growing up, there were people that spoke of, oh, it's just fate.
- 10:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And then going to Sunday school or uh uh Bible study or church services, there was the word faith.
- 10:33Host, Vicki L. Thompson: For some of us, they were synonymous until we began a relationship with Jesus Christ, with God in Jesus Christ, and thus, as John shared, the deity of God will begin to abide with us, my friend.
- 11:01Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And that says, when that word retains in it.
- 11:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So for everyone that's listening and wondering, how can you get near to God and still live?
- 11:18Host, Vicki L. Thompson: See God and still live.
- 11:20Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The Scriptures say that.
- 11:22Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I'm just like you.
- 11:25Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Scripture says, no man can see God, it does say, unless he's Holy.
- 11:31Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Jesus says, unless you're born again, you can't even enter into the kingdom.
- 11:39Host, Vicki L. Thompson: These are scriptural truths.
- 11:42Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Oh, but we don't debate them because they're absolute, they exist and they're real.
- 11:51Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So when God says it is so.
- 11:54Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But then along the way, he sent Jesus.
- 11:59Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And along the way down through the Scriptures, we see his ministry of teaching.
- 12:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I say ministry, it's the thing of sharing of himself the kingdom and the father.
- 12:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's when ministry is being used to share, whatever gifts that God has given each one of us.
- 12:25Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And yes, every single one of us that Have felt the tug on our heart, the conviction of our sins, and thus entered the light by saying yes to the Lord Jesus Christ, we're giving a role that will help someone else along the way.
- 12:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And it's not just something that we eagerly work at.
- 13:03Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And it's truly relying upon the Lord and the Holy Spirit.
- 13:11Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Otherwise, it's becomes really meaningless.
- 13:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It doesn't touch.
- 13:19Host, Vicki L. Thompson: When the Holy Spirit, whether be for in prayer, and that's always our prayer, that it is the Lord our God who guides us and the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit who illuminates, illuminates, and gives us understanding of what that all means.
- 13:46Host, Vicki L. Thompson: You and I, along the way, will muddle it up if it's left to what I think and you think.
- 13:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Isn't that true, my friends?
- 13:59Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So then we get to this point that begins our Talk,.
- 14:03Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Wow, 956, which begins our Talk,.
- 14:11Host, Vicki L. Thompson: You Life and God Podcast Radio, poignant and candid.
- 14:16Host, Vicki L. Thompson: God was very clear with that.
- 14:20Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Very, very clear.
- 14:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Let's know the mood of tugging a little harder on our heart.
- 14:32Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Redirecting, and then really making us become the pillars that will stand in that temple, man.
- 14:43Host, Vicki L. Thompson: As it descends from heaven, the new Jerusalem.
- 14:54Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And how do we become that man?
- 14:59Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Only by the Spirit of God.
- 15:02Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And so it is 9 a.m.
- 15:09Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Hello.
- 15:11Host, Vicki L. Thompson: God has given us a new day.
- 15:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I'm so glad about it.
- 15:18Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I hope you are as well.
- 15:20Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And we begin this Talk, that is entitled The Juxtaposition of Faith and Circumstance.
- 15:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: In preparation, God led me to read a little bit about some scholars who know a little bit about life.
- 15:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So it seems.
- 15:51Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And this particular one is Ralph Waldo Emerson.
- 15:56Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And it says he preferred using the name E.
- 16:03Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Waldo.
- 16:04Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And thus Emerson.
- 16:06Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The writer, the lecturer, well famous, born in the eighteen hundreds.
- 16:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And information about him says that he was an abolitionist.
- 16:24Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That perked me up a little bit.
- 16:27Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I was a little bit more, and that was after I had read for a couple of months some of his writings.
- 16:36Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So I paused and I wondered.
- 16:40Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But it helped me gather the time in which and the place in which he lived, my friends.
- 16:54Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So in reading some of his um essays and writings, and it's a book that's actually the journals, his journal.
- 17:10Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So there are a lot of um annexes of inserts and delutions in which one with uh to help along understanding his thought in writing and in sharing and in teaching.
- 17:32Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So there was something that he said that began that I read that led me to think about the conversation I had with my dad, my father, and hindsight, and I pray as God has given us family units that we share what those that Have come before us Have gathered from this life.
- 18:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I tell you, most of them want to share, and will be quite surprised it is not what the media projects is it can never tell the whole story.
- 18:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And after all, most of them look to gain audiences, my friend.
- 18:21Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Isn't that true?
- 18:22Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So the conversation I had with my father to lead us into, I was really a young child.
- 18:29Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Scriptures say, Jesus says, also suffer meaning, allow the little children to come unto me.
- 18:41Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Whatever time in which God is tugging on their hearts.
- 18:46Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So I was a little child, and um I don't know exactly what my character was or anything like that, except my dad was um a carpenter, and he was more than that, but God, it was natural to him, inherited from his father, who, by the way, chiseled with the little knife, create any kind of image from wood.
- 19:19Host, Vicki L. Thompson: My dad was a carpenter, he built things, and so one night he was building something, it was not too late, and I went where he was and started muddling around the stuff that he was working with, and of course, I was bothering him, to be honest with you, and he says, you know, Vicki, curiosity kills the cat.
- 19:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Well, at 10 years old, I didn't know what that meant, but I got perturbed.
- 19:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I thought I was uh not only uh helping him because he was by himself, asking him questions, but apparently I was very bothered by it.
- 20:10Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But then I left in a huff because I didn't like that word kill, and I didn't could not understand the difference or the connection between curiosity and a cat.
- 20:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Frankly, I'm not gonna go too deep there, but I still don't.
- 20:32Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But as God would Have it, several days later, and I'm still very inquisitive about this cat and curiosity.
- 20:42Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And here's one of these cartoons, and it was sitting with my uh siblings and watching, and it had this thing about a cat that kept falling down and coming alive again.
- 21:01Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Then one of my older siblings said to me, Well, and I'm under trying to understand what's this all about, you know, if he got shot, how can he jump up again?
- 21:13Host, Vicki L. Thompson: He says, Well, they say that cat ha a cat or cats Have nine lives.
- 21:21Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Still don't understand that, my friends.
- 21:24Host, Vicki L. Thompson: However, to share, I had something to go back to my dad with, and guess what?
- 21:35Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I did, I went back and told him at the right time.
- 21:42Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I said, I found out that cats Have nine lives, so how can I kill a cat by just looking at what you were doing?
- 21:53Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because I thought he meant it with the cat would die.
- 21:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Little chuckle there because Ralph Waldo Emerson writes that, and there are many that I want to share that was given to share.
- 22:18Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I don't know if we'll be able to do so, alone with God taking us where we are, and and and to be honest with you, we're on the right.
- 22:26Host, Vicki L. Thompson: In essence, it's not an exact quote.
- 22:33Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But he says that how can one help uh someone else without him?
- 22:44Host, Vicki L. Thompson: In himself first.
- 22:45Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I want to begin with that.
- 22:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And then he said, Life.
- 22:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The purpose of life is not to be happy.
- 23:06Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And that leads to one of our sub emphasis is what is life?
- 23:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: What is life, my friends?
- 23:20Host, Vicki L. Thompson: What is life?
- 23:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And that's gonna get us to the one man at the left side, and the one man at the right side.
- 23:33Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It's gonna get us there, my friend.
- 23:41Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So the curiosity of a little child and the paternity of no needing to know something opens up a lot of things for us to grasp and under and understand.
- 24:04Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Don't you agree, you all?
- 24:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So Emerson says that it is the purpose of life to ask that question.
- 24:22Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Answer that question.
- 24:26Host, Vicki L. Thompson: What is life?
- 24:29Host, Vicki L. Thompson: What is it?
- 24:32Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Is it about us just getting through the day?
- 24:38Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It isn't about us working through.
- 24:43Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It is by just waiting to see.
- 24:47Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Is it about just making do?
- 24:51Host, Vicki L. Thompson: What if life?
- 24:55Host, Vicki L. Thompson: In every country where we go.
- 25:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I don't know, Jesus says about the far reaches of the earth and the gospel reach in there.
- 25:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I don't know.
- 25:08Host, Vicki L. Thompson: They Have corners at the far end of the world.
- 25:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But on every corner we see the despair of life.
- 25:26Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And in our richness of waking up this morning, and gathering, oh, we're given a new day.
- 25:43Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I pray we thank God.
- 25:46Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It's our prayer.
- 25:47Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And each day we wake up, we thank God.
- 25:50Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because truly He's the one who called the day, who can't keeps the sun where it is, the sky in its place, and enables our eyes to open.
- 26:04Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Isn't that true, my friends?
- 26:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So he says the purpose of life is not to be happy.
- 26:12Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But it says, he says, and again, it's not a direct quote.
- 26:22Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It says, but to Have compassion, to be kind, and thus to make a mark, to live, to reach out and Have assisted someone else.
- 26:44Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So that when we do get to the point of this end of the life in this age, then that life was well lived.
- 27:01Host, Vicki L. Thompson: “Well lived”.
- 27:05Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's what he said.
- 27:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And as you can tell, that moved to a conversation of poignancy.
- 27:13Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Life is not just getting over.
- 27:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And it's thus our prayer for anyone that we know who thinks that life is not making do.
- 27:27Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And recently I've seen many who Have matured in ages in life, and believers, life is what you make it, and I still ponder that what happened in their circumstances.
- 27:54Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because Jesus says, I come to give you life, and he said it to people who were alive standing right before him.
- 28:04Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I come to give you life, and it was not only for those who want to wait and see.
- 28:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It's not only what's going to happen when I die will I see heaven.
- 28:19Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It's not that just that life.
- 28:22Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And no, it is not just seeing how much stuff he can give me.
- 28:29Host, Vicki L. Thompson: No, it is not that life either.
- 28:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And allow me to summarize when we get to a point to say that life is what you make it.
- 28:45Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That let us pray that God deposits even more of Himself.
- 28:54Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Rejuvenate even more, regenerate a fresh anointing to be poured over so the dulling eyes and ears can begin to see anew again.
- 29:09Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because I say that that statement, life is what you make it, “is hindsight's optimism for a lot of mistakes and misunderstanding of what building of faith is.
- 29:36Host, Vicki L. Thompson: ” Hindsight's optimism to give all of us a benefit of the doubt because we've all had many missteps, mistakes, and a lot that God had to turn us around.
- 29:53Host, Vicki L. Thompson: All getting us to the point that He's already spoken, already know that we Have reached.
- 30:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But something got us entangled.
- 30:03Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So he had to turn us around to either take something out of us, amen, or put something in.
- 30:11Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I hope you're laughing with me.
- 30:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And take us to the point that he knows we're gonna reach.
- 30:20Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who never leave us nor forsake us.
- 30:30Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And again, hindsight's optimism, optimism is the statement of life is what you make it.
- 30:41Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because most definitely, if we begin to fret, and places where God is increasing our faith or building up our faith, and we begin to listen to any naysayers or anything that lead us to believe that we kind of made a mistake, and if we lean into that, if we, as you know, if we pick it up and try to make that thing what we think God said it would be, we're gonna mess up.
- 31:29Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Now, it may not be immediate, but after a while, we'll see that this is not what God had intended.
- 31:39Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's life, my friends, when we make it what?
- 31:43Host, Vicki L. Thompson: As a believer, or even one that does not know the Lord yet.
- 31:50Host, Vicki L. Thompson: There are many mistakes because there are all kinds of hindrances and many that we don't see.
- 31:56Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And many people Have gotten in big trouble by being in the wrong places, my friend, the wrong time.
- 32:06Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So, the juxtaposition of life, a juxtaposition of faith, fate, and circumstance, to take us a little bit deeper, and to firm on that on our Talk, this morning.
- 32:31Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because I was given the answer, was spoken to me so loud and clear to answer that big question of one of those novels that was given to me, written by Dr.
- 32:45Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Martin Luther King Jr.
- 32:47Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Where do we go from here?
- 32:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And he had spoken of the promised land, and I think of our brothers and sisters, the Jews.
- 33:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I think of Jerusalem, and what is spoken of it.
- 33:05Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I think of us, and how contextually we relate to that term promised land, to believe in or faith in Jesus Christ.
- 33:21Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Martin Luther King said that he saw the glory, he's been to the mountaintop, and that's an epiphany God took him to see.
- 33:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And he says, We're gonna get to a particular people, we're gonna get to the mountaintop.
- 33:42Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And a nation, gonna get to the promised land, and whatever that means, let God explain it to all of us, amen.
- 33:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But then I knew what it meant.
- 34:01Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because the words of Christ says, We in Christ, wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there lies liberty, and everybody believed, and I believe also with the Israelites, because when they found that there were giants when they were about to cross over, giants in the land, it's like, oh my, more battles, more fighting.
- 34:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: What's this all about?
- 34:36Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Where are we going from here?
- 34:38Host, Vicki L. Thompson: What are you taking us up to?
- 34:40Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That elusiveness of liberty and freedom, and it was given that when one gets that spirit of freedom and liberty, there it is the promise line that's when you get it and understand in Jesus Christ.
- 35:11Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's where it is, it's not when you get to the other side.
- 35:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because there are more giants, my friends.
- 35:22Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It's not when you get, it's when we grasp the liberty, the fight for freedom is already fought to grasp liberty that is found in Jesus Christ.
- 35:39Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I Have found, and I was given, entered into the promise.
- 35:48Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Oh man, in that place, the place of all things impossible to the juxtaposition of fate and circumstance.
- 36:10Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It's not the same for everyone.
- 36:13Host, Vicki L. Thompson: We understand that, right?
- 36:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: You can Have siblings with the same circumstance of growing up, and one going one way and one going another.
- 36:26Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Don't you know someone like that, my friend?
- 36:29Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Someone that has been extremely poor, and we pray for the family unit.
- 36:37Host, Vicki L. Thompson: This is what we're speaking of in life.
- 36:40Host, Vicki L. Thompson: No one is an island, no man gets anywhere in life on his own.
- 36:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And life difficulties are not supposed to stop.
- 36:56Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So don't lose heart and dare not give up.
- 37:01Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Though circumstances can take you very close, can take us very close to that.
- 37:10Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But then don't let go.
- 37:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Out of all the other strength you Have, just don't let go.
- 37:20Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And then you know, that's all that was needed.
- 37:26Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Jesus will never leave us or never forsake us, amen.
- 37:32Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So Wardolf Emerson says life's purpose is not our habit.
- 37:42Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's not life's purpose.
- 37:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It's very interesting.
- 37:52Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Oh, we know there are many who disagree with that whole thing.
- 37:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But that's just something for us to contemplate on of this thing about fate and circumstance.
- 38:08Host, Vicki L. Thompson: As we walk on, my friends, and I've already told us where we're gonna end up.
- 38:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The narrative of Jesus the Christ, who was from the beginning and interestingly, who is its to come, he is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.
- 38:50Host, Vicki L. Thompson: He is he who was and is and is to come, the Almighty.
- 39:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: For all our listeners who are wondering to know and ready to battle, for anybody that says that God is only this, because God is God, let us stand and pray.
- 39:18Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It is our prayer that everyone that's listening, that our poignancy and candid conveys the mode and the mood by which we Have been compelled to inspire and encourage, to hold on, to take on, and to simply put that God is God.
- 39:48Host, Vicki L. Thompson: There is one true, one true and living God, and Jesus Christ was with him in the beginning.
- 40:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: God the Son came in the flesh as Jesus the Christ, meaning the Messiah, the anointed one.
- 40:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Being interpreted in Hebrew.
- 40:20Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Hosanna means he who saves.
- 40:27Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And that also leads to another point of getting where we're going, and that is a song that is sung.
- 40:40Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I've heard it both in Hebrew and in English, even the songtress, the worshiper, CeCe Winans, sings it, and it's out an eye, and listening to the words of a people about the promise of the Messiah, and the fact that they could not see him really touched and moved me to the place of compassion and understanding.
- 41:12Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Just like myself, when God has promised something and I can't see it, even though he says I've been there and I've made it.
- 41:22Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Which was a true report.
- 41:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Don't let that stop.
- 41:39Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because what God says, He says, He says, I've given you the land, even though there's maybe giants there, amen.
- 41:50Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So we'll be encouraged to hold on with what God has spoken you to you.
- 41:56Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Hold on to it and don't let go.
- 41:59Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Bring it to pass, most certainly.
- 42:02Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And please don't make it to what you believe it's going to be.
- 42:08Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Let God do it, and He will guide and instruct us along the way.
- 42:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Amen.
- 42:16Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So in the uh in Jesus' ministry, as we said, ministry is assisting, being gifted to be used as a vessel of God for the benefit of others.
- 42:31Host, Vicki L. Thompson: First, he builds us up in it.
- 42:35Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Training, teaching, giving us understanding, giving us the right spirit to do that.
- 42:45Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And so Jesus comes.
- 42:50Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Why?
- 42:51Host, Vicki L. Thompson: For you and me, right?
- 42:53Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So as we begin continue with the conversation, I, as you can tell, very excited because walking through the Scriptures in the gospel account, walking through the Scriptures, and we said, just picture this.
- 43:13Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Jesus is on a cross, and one man is at his left side, and one man is at his right side.
- 43:31Host, Vicki L. Thompson: In the same circumstance, and in the faith of being hung or crucified.
- 43:43Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But then the narrative shared.
- 43:49Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I'm sure many Have preached and proclaimed the emphasis and the understanding of one man at the left and one man at the right of Jesus.
- 44:09Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The significance of the juxtaposition.
- 44:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And often we are given at a point, at an intersection.
- 44:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I say the juxtaposition is man, I'm in a mess.
- 44:29Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Man, I don't know where I stand.
- 44:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Man, this says this was supposed to happen, and I'm still waiting.
- 44:39Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's juxtaposition.
- 44:41Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And between older folks would say, I believe that's synonymous.
- 44:52Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But let me tell you, let's share the mode of that the mode of getting there.
- 45:04Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Jesus had not gone from not many accounts into Jerusalem until the time in which it was for him to be proclaimed as the king.
- 45:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Because the sands of his purpose of coming in the flesh, they, sands of time, were running out.
- 45:31Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And there were things that needed to be said and accomplished.
- 45:38Host, Vicki L. Thompson: One of course was to get to Jerusalem.
- 45:46Host, Vicki L. Thompson: I mean, to get to Samaria, and he detour.
- 45:52Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And looking at the gospel accounts, especially, and always start with John, because he was given a closer look or ministry that began to share the nature, the spiritual character of a spiritual being, or spirituality.
- 46:18Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Not just the authority of Jesus, not just the miracle of Jesus, not just his genealogy, but the spiritualness of the new man, of what he wanted us to understand, what that life was all about.
- 46:36Host, Vicki L. Thompson: John was given that ministry.
- 46:38Host, Vicki L. Thompson: There are no contradictions.
- 46:40Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It is what God exposed each one of those disciples to in their walk with the Lord and what the Spirit edified and illuminated the meaning.
- 46:56Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Thus they became witnesses of what they experienced.
- 47:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: They would be able to share it with us.
- 47:02Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And that is the distinction of John, and that's why I start with John.
- 47:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I found that in Luke chapter 23.
- 47:12Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But getting to that point, especially with John, and that's where I want to start around 19, the gospel according to John, the apostle, and you will begin to see things in the urgency of what Jesus is saying to his disciples.
- 47:33Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Not only does he gather the specific 13 for the Lord's Supper, the last supper that they would Have with them, him.
- 47:46Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But then they would begin to share and see, and what we find in reading and studying the scripture, and we pray the Holy Spirit is going to give you what will edify and build you up, was that Jesus's conversation became more stern and stern and stern and sterner.
- 48:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: His conversation became stern.
- 48:20Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And as he was approaching the time where he knew he was going to be portrayed, he knew he was going to go to a mock of trial.
- 48:31Host, Vicki L. Thompson: There's still things that needed to be done.
- 48:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: There is a person over here that he called, and one says, Oh, I'll follow you, but let me bury my parents first.
- 48:43Host, Vicki L. Thompson: You see?
- 48:45Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And Jesus says, Let follow me.
- 48:50Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Let the dead bury the dead.
- 48:54Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And then some commentary says that some of, well, actually, that some of the spiritual leaders or religious leaders said that uh believed that he was arrogant.
- 49:06Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I will say that when we don't know the urgency of the time, of the sands of time running out.
- 49:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And there's still things that must be accomplished and must be done.
- 49:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's the juxtaposition.
- 49:26Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And the mode of this conversation.
- 49:30Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Then he asked another disciple to come, just like you and me.
- 49:36Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Come follow, let's go higher and higher.
- 49:39Host, Vicki L. Thompson: One is let me go and say goodbye to my family.
- 49:47Host, Vicki L. Thompson: You and I would say this is typical stuff.
- 49:50Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Let us prepare for the travel of the next phase.
- 49:57Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And sometimes it's just jump on.
- 50:01Host, Vicki L. Thompson: This is your fate.
- 50:04Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Come now.
- 50:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The Lord is calling.
- 50:10Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And he says that Jesus says, a plowman looking back is not worthy of his wages.
- 50:21Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Now one would wonder now, why would Jesus say something like that?
- 50:27Host, Vicki L. Thompson: This is what we're getting to.
- 50:30Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The sands of time requirements.
- 50:41Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The poignancy of a conversation.
- 50:47Host, Vicki L. Thompson: When the Lord said, No tittle, no what do you call when we procrastination?
- 51:00Host, Vicki L. Thompson: No moments to think a second thought.
- 51:04Host, Vicki L. Thompson: When you hear the voice of the Lord, you say less yes, Lord.
- 51:14Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Otherwise, the enemy of our soul will find that little crack of doubt and hesitancy.
- 51:25Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And it is our prayer for everyone to know that that occurred.
- 51:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: It says hearten natural heart.
- 51:38Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And it is the simple thing of procrastinating.
- 51:42Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's a little crack.
- 51:46Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So it is for us to encourage and for us to stand and let's pray for all our loved ones who need to Have a closer walk with the Lord are need for you or any listener who needs to say yes and understand that the Lord came for everyone, not for just a particular group of people.
- 52:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Everyone because the sands of time are running out.
- 52:24Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And it is for us to return home to abide with the one God that we all search for.
- 52:35Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And the way is through our Lord and Savior.
- 52:41Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So he was very candid, my friend.
- 52:45Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Even when he was sitting at the Last Supper, and one asked, Thomas asked, when he says uh uh about the Father, and (correction, Phillip) asked, Show us the Father, and Jesus, I can imagine.
- 53:10Host, Vicki L. Thompson: This is his close inner section, says, if you've seen me, he says, “I Have been so alone with you, Phillip, and you still don't know me?” And that was not that was a sternness of the Lord, but that was saying for us as well.
- 53:29Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Get closer, man.
- 53:31Host, Vicki L. Thompson: We Have let us all hear that voice of God, know the spirit of God.
- 53:39Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Let's get to it.
- 53:40Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Let not us be uh diverted to just works to show that our righteousness.
- 53:47Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Let us continue to grow in, let not our ministry stop or allow us to be entangled in the ministry and lose the love of the worship of the one who had started it for us.
- 54:02Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That was the sternness of the sins of time, my friends, and we are actually coming near.
- 54:11Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But the juxtaposition, one is a Lord to know that his time is nearing.
- 54:18Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Who ends up being tried and not convicted?
- 54:27Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But the judicial system, Pilate and Herod, compromised with the people, or the influence of the so-called powerful religious leaders, and then they compromised.
- 54:53Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But that's why Jesus came.
- 54:56Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So he said not a word except.
- 55:02Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And when they said, Tell me, are you the king of the Jews?
- 55:05Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Do you call yourself the king of the Jews?
- 55:08Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Are you the king of the Jews?
- 55:09Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Well, I Have to say to you, it had to be said, it had to be proclaimed, and it had to come out of their mouths, right?
- 55:21Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But look at this.
- 55:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So thus he became a criminal.
- 55:26Host, Vicki L. Thompson: For you and me.
- 55:30Host, Vicki L. Thompson: That's what that was all about.
- 55:32Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But scripture says now this is the whole hill with a lot of crosses.
- 55:40Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But fate would Have it for one man identified as a criminal, charged as a criminal at the left side, and another man charged as a criminal at the right side.
- 56:01Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Our Lord, who is the savior in the middle, is charged as what was decreed and oritated by the anals of time that this was going to happen, to be charged for you and me, like the criminals on each side.
- 56:25Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Fate would Have it that the biblical narrative, my friends, would share that there were two men next to him.
- 56:34Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Why?
- 56:35Host, Vicki L. Thompson: There was a whole hill of crosses, and then fate would Have that one man decided to be like the other, to mock and criticize, and thus not know and could not discern the light that was between both of them.
- 57:07Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And I will introduce that in the research.
- 57:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Always wonder why m mot appear at night.
- 57:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Or if you Have a lamp, why a mock with around the lamp.
- 57:31Host, Vicki L. Thompson: They recognize and always been directed by the light of the monk.
- 57:40Host, Vicki L. Thompson: By light and you will find if they get into a lantern, they will continue to bump their head because they get confirm the light and they lose their way.
- 58:03Host, Vicki L. Thompson: There are many of us still that Have not understood the light that shines the light of Christ and the criminal on the other side rebuked the man that was ridiculing it, saying, Look, both of us are being crucified and we're hanging for death for what we Have done.
- 58:36Host, Vicki L. Thompson: He actually Scriptures say that he says fear God.
- 58:46Host, Vicki L. Thompson: One man the light let him see.
- 58:55Host, Vicki L. Thompson: The other man is I not being able to discern where the candid comes.
- 59:08Host, Vicki L. Thompson: No hesitation's faith the juxtaposition of our circumstance.
- 59:17Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Isn't that true, my friend?
- 59:24Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And what did Jesus?
- 59:27Host, Vicki L. Thompson: His candidcy said not one word to the man that was mocked because the light was the man's eye.
- 59:43Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And the man could not deserve just like the other religious or the other people more than religious leaders or other citizens there as well.
- 59:59Host, Vicki L. Thompson: So my friends, the hour is what did Jesus to the map pray for me.
- 1:00:12Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Forgive me and pray.
- 1:00:15Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Jesus did pray to forgive all who crucified him.
- 1:00:18Host, Vicki L. Thompson: But he claimed to the map.
- 1:00:23Host, Vicki L. Thompson: Recognize that he was a savior.
- 1:00:28Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And he says, Today, my friend, you will be with me.
- 1:00:35Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And that upon hearing and recognizing and receiving the Lord.
- 1:00:45Host, Vicki L. Thompson: And with that, my friends, we pray that God blessings continue to bounce.
