  No room for pride. Have you ever watched someone
• 0:14
  else get rewarded and felt that tight feeling rise up inside
• 0:17
  you? Maybe you thought I worked
• 0:19
  harder than that. I showed up earlier.

  I did more. And suddenly joy turns into
• 0:24
  comparison and comparison turns into frustration.
• 0:27
  Those moments reveal something deep in US cried quietly,
• 0:30
  whispering that we deserve more than someone else.
• 0:34
  Jesus goes straight for that heart issue.
• 0:36
  In Matthew chapter 20, he tells a story about workers hired at
• 0:39
  different times of the day, yet all receiving the same pay.
• 0:43
  The ones who worked the longest were offended.
• 0:46
  They didn't think the owner was fair, but the owner reminded
• 0:49
  them that he had done nothing wrong.
• 0:50
  He simply chose to be generous. That story isn't really about
• 0:54
  wages. It's about grace.
• 0:56
  Race doesn't operate on a scoreboard.
• 0:59
  It doesn't reward seniority or effort the way humans expect.

  And pride struggles with that because pride wants credit,
• 1:06
  recognition, and comparison. Proverbs chapter 6 exposes just
• 1:10
  how serious pride is to God. It says there are things the
• 1:13
  Lord hates, and the list begins with haughty eyes.

  Pride sits at the top. Not violence, not betrayal.
• 1:20
  Pride. Because pride poisons everything
• 1:23
  it touches. It turns blessings into
• 1:25
  entitlement. It turns success into
• 1:27
  superiority. It turns gratitude into
• 1:30
  resentment. Pride convinces us that what we
• 1:33
  have is earned and what others have is undeserved.
• 1:36
  Jesus completely flips that way of thinking.
• 1:39
  In God's Kingdom, greatness isn't measured by being first or
• 1:42
  doing the most. It's measured by humility,
• 1:45
  trust, and a heart that reflects His generosity.
• 1:48
  The workers who were hired late didn't demand anything.
• 1:51
  They simply received what the Master chose to give.
• 1:54
  That's grace. And the early workers lost their
• 1:56
  joy not because they were treated unfairly, but because
• 2:00
  pride robbed them of gratitude. This is where it gets personal.
• 2:04
  Pride shows up when we compare our journey to someone else's,
• 2:07
  when we struggle to celebrate another person's blessing, when
• 2:11
  we quietly believe God owes us more because of our effort.
• 2:14
  But grace invites us into a better way, a way where we trust
• 2:18
  God's goodness, rejoice when others are lifted, and rest in
• 2:21
  the truth that what he gives is always right.

  There's no room for pride in a heart-shaped by grace, not
• 2:27
  because God wants to shrink you, but because pride shrinks your
• 2:30
  joy. Humility, on the other hand,
• 2:32
  frees you. It lets you celebrate instead of
• 2:35
  compare, It lets you serve instead of compete, and it keeps
• 2:39
  your heart aligned with God's generous nature.
• 2:41
  You don't lose anything by laying pride down.
• 2:44
  You gain peace, you gain freedom and you gain a deeper
• 2:47
  understanding of grace, the kind that says God has been good to
• 2:50
  me and that is enough. Let's pray.

  Heavenly Father, thank you for your grace that I could never
• 2:56
  earn and your generosity that never runs out.

  Search my heart and show me where pride has taken root.

  Help me let go of comparison, entitlement and resentment.

  Teach me to celebrate others and to trust that what you give is
• 3:09
  always right. Shape my heart to be humble,

  grateful and full of love just like yours.
