- 2:28Speaker 5: Chris Lawrence and Tom Bragger here. Chris, you're more excited
- 2:30Speaker 5: when I said biscuits and gravy.
- 2:31Speaker 6: Right, Yeah, I'm I'm thinking about sticking around. Did she
- 2:34Speaker 6: bring any.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Uh well at the event's not till November the eighth.
- 2:37Speaker 5: They're trying to get people. The question still stands. I
- 2:40Speaker 5: was a judge last year. I was a judge for
- 2:43Speaker 5: the Biscuits and Gravy last year.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Yeah, it would be hard for me to judge because
- 2:46Speaker 6: I've eaten the greatest biscuits and gravy of all, and
- 2:48Speaker 6: it would be all well paling comparison.
- 2:50Speaker 5: But my mom, I was gonna say, what member of
- 2:52Speaker 5: your family, And.
- 2:52Speaker 6: My mama made the biscuits and gravy and it would
- 2:56Speaker 6: be hard to ever fund and the need that would
- 2:57Speaker 6: beat that.
- 2:58Speaker 5: So mine would be my late mother in law. She
- 3:01Speaker 5: made some pretty dang good biscuits and gravy. She hated me,
- 3:05Speaker 5: but boy, she would make biscuits and gravy.
- 3:07Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 4: I had a great grandma, old granny brag. Those were
- 3:09Speaker 4: the best, were the biscuits and gravy.
- 3:11Speaker 5: It's somebody's great And I think what happens is your
- 3:14Speaker 5: biscuits and gravy suck until you get to be like
- 3:16Speaker 5: sixty years old. And then when a person I don't
- 3:19Speaker 5: even say a woman, because sometimes some men can make
- 3:21Speaker 5: some good biscuits and gravy too, but once they get
- 3:23Speaker 5: to be sixty, now suddenly your biscuits and gravy either.
- 3:25Speaker 6: Well, that's because you've made it every day for the
- 3:28Speaker 6: past four decades and you've gotten it wrong as much
- 3:31Speaker 6: as you possibly can, so you'll get it right every time. Now, Yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 6: all right, the same thing with cornbread. Mom, said the
- 3:36Speaker 6: same thing about cornbread.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Yeah, let's talk about high school football right now, Chris Lawrence,
- 3:41Speaker 5: you are going to be in the land of the
- 3:42Speaker 5: generals tonight as Winfield to take on Nitro should be
- 3:45Speaker 5: a good one.
- 3:46Speaker 6: Yeah, number seven Nitro at number ten win Field. A big,
- 3:49Speaker 6: a very important game for both these teams as far
- 3:52Speaker 6: as postseason implications and seating, and a fairly evenly matched game,
- 3:58Speaker 6: one would think. But you might give Nitro the edge
- 4:01Speaker 6: just because they've got a few more skill guys than
- 4:04Speaker 6: Hurricane does. But uh, but but Hurricane, but Hurricane Winfield
- 4:08Speaker 6: don't get that one. Yeah, exactly when Winfield has proven
- 4:11Speaker 6: that they can hang with anybody, and they will and
- 4:14Speaker 6: they will bring the hammer when they have to. So
- 4:17Speaker 6: that should be interesting tonight to uh to get them
- 4:20Speaker 6: together and see what happens. All right, and they be
- 4:22Speaker 6: on the air as well at six point thirty and
- 4:24Speaker 6: the kickoff is at seven o'clock.
- 4:26Speaker 5: You and who it's a.
- 4:29Speaker 6: Surprise that's gonna I've got I've got a surprise for
- 4:35Speaker 6: you on the uh on the program tonight, see our
- 4:37Speaker 6: sports department, because you know, w has got homecoming going on,
- 4:40Speaker 6: so we've got people there Marshall's off this week, so uh,
- 4:43Speaker 6: we're we're kind of moving all kinds of folks around.
- 4:46Speaker 6: I think the football blitz today that I do as
- 4:49Speaker 6: part of Metro News Midday, I think I'm going to
- 4:51Speaker 6: get to Woody Woods to do that with me today.
- 4:53Speaker 6: Well that ought to be fit that he could. He's
- 4:56Speaker 6: as qualified as anyone else. It just means, what do
- 4:58Speaker 6: you have to get out of bed before for three o'clock?
- 5:01Speaker 5: All right? What you got on in West Virginia outdoors tomorrow?
- 5:04Speaker 6: I've got, Uh, I've got about four different stories of
- 5:08Speaker 6: people that killed nice bucks, and I think I'm gonna
- 5:10Speaker 6: go with those tomorrow. I've kind of been holding them,
- 5:12Speaker 6: holding them back in my in reserve, but I think
- 5:14Speaker 6: I'm just gonna fire them all tomorrow.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Where are we in as far as I rely on
- 5:19Speaker 5: you stuff for this kind of stuff, As far as
- 5:21Speaker 5: the seasons go right now? What seasons are we in?
- 5:23Speaker 5: What are we looking forward? I mean, I know obviously
- 5:25Speaker 5: buck season will be coming up later, Deer season, I
- 5:28Speaker 5: should say, but yeah, what what's in season?
- 5:31Speaker 6: Archery season is underway obviously for for everything. I think
- 5:35Speaker 6: the fall Turkey season opened last weekend. I was on vacation,
- 5:38Speaker 6: so I can't remember. I think fall turkey season opened.
- 5:43Speaker 6: I do in the spring a little bit, but not
- 5:46Speaker 6: very much because you can only turkey hunt from daylight
- 5:50Speaker 6: till one o'clock and that's when I work. That's the
- 5:56Speaker 6: same schedule I work, so I don't get to do
- 5:59Speaker 6: it very often. But I have before, and I've killed
- 6:01Speaker 6: a few over the years, not many. I know a
- 6:03Speaker 6: couple buddies of mind their turkey hunters. I mean they're
- 6:05Speaker 6: just hardcore about it and they love. There's something different
- 6:08Speaker 6: I guess about turkey hunting.
- 6:09Speaker 5: I don't know what.
- 6:09Speaker 6: Well, it's the communication with another animal and the fact
- 6:12Speaker 6: that you have to draw them in very close, and
- 6:16Speaker 6: when they're when they're still gobbling, and they're literally from
- 6:20Speaker 6: here to that window and I'm talking to ten feet
- 6:23Speaker 6: and then they gobble. I mean, it makes the hair
- 6:26Speaker 6: in your armstand. It's really exciting, and because any sudden
- 6:30Speaker 6: movement will spook them and the whole thing will be
- 6:32Speaker 6: over right, so you've got it. It's it's it's a
- 6:34Speaker 6: lot more intimate than say deer hunting with a rifle,
- 6:37Speaker 6: where you can kill something one hundred yards away or more.
- 6:41Speaker 6: Bow hunting is kind of like that too, because you
- 6:43Speaker 6: draw them in so close, and that's one of the
- 6:45Speaker 6: allures of it to so many people.
- 6:47Speaker 5: So just have a good broadcast. Tonight should be a
- 6:49Speaker 5: good one between the Wildcats and the Generals. And we'll
- 6:51Speaker 5: be listening to West Virginia Outdoors tomorrow morning. So that's
- 6:53Speaker 5: good man, I appreciate it. Never know what those turkeys
- 6:55Speaker 5: are going to say. Speaking to which you's Tom Bragg. Hey,
- 6:58Speaker 5: mister Bragg, of course will he'll have the coverage tonight.
- 7:01Speaker 5: You're going to Frankfurt, right, Yeah, long trip for Herbert
- 7:04Speaker 5: Hoover today. We're making the trip originally about three and
- 7:05Speaker 5: a half hours from Charleston. This should be a This
- 7:08Speaker 5: is one of the premier matchups on the schedule.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I think on paper it's absolutely that you look
- 7:13Speaker 4: at just the resumes of both of these teams. Hoover
- 7:16Speaker 4: comes in at six and one. It's only lost was
- 7:18Speaker 4: to double A number one Independence, that's kind of established
- 7:21Speaker 4: itself as the team to beat in Double A and
- 7:23Speaker 4: they've taken that mantle maybe from this Frankfort team that
- 7:27Speaker 4: Hoover's going up to play the Falcons undefeated this year.
- 7:29Speaker 3: They think it's twenty.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Two games win Street going.
- 7:32Speaker 4: They were undefeated last year and won the Double A title,
- 7:34Speaker 4: and they haven't lonched yet this year. I think what
- 7:38Speaker 4: a lot of people are looking at in this game
- 7:40Speaker 4: is just the strength of the competition that Frankfort has
- 7:42Speaker 4: been playing. They're undefeated, but they haven't faced anything like
- 7:45Speaker 4: this Hoover team. That's no disrespect to the teams on
- 7:47Speaker 4: their schedule. This Hoover team's playing at another level right now,
- 7:49Speaker 4: and I think it should be a really good game.
- 7:51Speaker 4: These are two teams highly ranked in their classes. Hoover
- 7:53Speaker 4: comes in at number three in Class Triple A this week.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Frankfort at number two behind that Independence team in Double
- 7:59Speaker 4: a's going to have to give. I think both nobody's
- 8:01Speaker 4: playing to get into the playoffs in this game. Both
- 8:03Speaker 4: of these teams are going to be playoff teams, but
- 8:05Speaker 4: it's about where they're going to fall in that bracket
- 8:07Speaker 4: right now. I think in Double A, you want to
- 8:10Speaker 4: get that number two seed if you can. I don't
- 8:11Speaker 4: think they'll be able to jump Independance if they were
- 8:13Speaker 4: to win this game, but you don't want to fall
- 8:14Speaker 4: back into that part of the bracket where you might
- 8:16Speaker 4: have to go play at Independence Cole City is a
- 8:18Speaker 4: tough place to play Ascouver.
- 8:20Speaker 5: From earlier this year exactly, and for.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Hoover, similar you want to get those wins against I mean,
- 8:25Speaker 4: the way the playoff system works, playing down in Double A,
- 8:28Speaker 4: it's not always great. But if you're going to you've
- 8:29Speaker 4: got to play good teams that are going out and
- 8:31Speaker 4: winning a bunch of games. And I think Frankfurt fits
- 8:33Speaker 4: that bill. It would be a great feather in Hoover's
- 8:35Speaker 4: had as far as positioning itself in the playoffs to
- 8:37Speaker 4: get this one under their belt. So should be a
- 8:39Speaker 4: good one. We're on the air a little bit before seven.
- 8:42Speaker 4: We don't do much of a pre game. We do
- 8:43Speaker 4: about five to ten minutes kickoffs at seven, so we'll
- 8:45Speaker 4: be on about six fifty five six fifty on ninety
- 8:47Speaker 4: six one KWS.
- 8:48Speaker 5: All right, we'll be listening. I do appreciate it. Thanks
- 8:50Speaker 5: thanks a lot. And State's playing in Florida.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Yeah, State's at West Florida, which is one of the
- 8:55Speaker 4: dominant teams in D two this year where they're on
- 8:57Speaker 4: the road. We're not covering that one, but they're back
- 8:59Speaker 4: in institute next week and we'll have that on the beat.
- 9:03Speaker 5: All right, Tom Bragg save travels. Thank you, sir. Enjoy
- 9:05Speaker 5: beautiful downtown Frankfort. Always have you been there? It is?
- 9:09Speaker 4: I've not been to a game at Frankfort. I've been
- 9:12Speaker 4: to one at Kaiser, which has also in a similar space.
- 9:15Speaker 4: But I've been to Frankfort High School before, just not
- 9:17Speaker 4: for a football game, so it will be my first time.
- 9:18Speaker 5: We're back on the food well always.
- 9:20Speaker 4: We gotta update the spreadsheet for the West Virginia High
- 9:24Speaker 4: School concession stand hot dog database.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Hey, so we got it.
- 9:27Speaker 5: We gotta get that one off the list. I appreciate it, buddy,
- 9:29Speaker 5: Thanks a lot. Have a good game and good broadcast tonight.
- 9:32Speaker 5: All right, let's switch gears here more. By the way,
- 9:34Speaker 5: do you need to let you know? It's the Dave
- 9:35Speaker 5: Island Show in five Any Lives, brought you apart by
- 9:37Speaker 5: Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. Angie Gillenwater
- 9:41Speaker 5: is here from the Canage Charles New Main Association with
- 9:43Speaker 5: this week's Adopt Me Please Better the week. Oh Angie,
- 9:46Speaker 5: Good morning and welcome to the show.
- 9:48Speaker 7: Good morning, it's a chilli one today.
- 9:50Speaker 5: It is a chili one.
- 9:51Speaker 1: You know.
- 9:51Speaker 5: I'll tell you an interesting to tell you the listeners.
- 9:53Speaker 5: A real funny story is last night I was doing
- 9:55Speaker 5: a live broadcast on her sister station, KWS and it
- 9:58Speaker 5: was over in Putnam County where I lived. So I
- 10:00Speaker 5: just took the KWS truck home last night. And I'm
- 10:04Speaker 5: kind of spoiled by having a garage. Okay, So this
- 10:07Speaker 5: morning I wake up and walk out to get the
- 10:10Speaker 5: get the newspaper and whatever, and I was thinking, I'm
- 10:13Speaker 5: gonna have to either scrape or let this big truck
- 10:15Speaker 5: run because this truck will not fit. And I left
- 10:18Speaker 5: my car at the station and I took the truck home.
- 10:20Speaker 5: I said, this truck will not fit in my garage.
- 10:23Speaker 5: So I said, do I want to scrape it or
- 10:26Speaker 5: do I want to let it run? So sorry WVRC
- 10:29Speaker 5: Media Charleston and the gas bill. I decided to let
- 10:31Speaker 5: it run for about ten minutes. It's a big truck too,
- 10:36Speaker 5: and you know, and I'm not a big guy, at
- 10:38Speaker 5: least not in height, so you know, if I could
- 10:40Speaker 5: get the whole thing to get it scraped, all right,
- 10:42Speaker 5: I want to ask you before we get into the
- 10:45Speaker 5: pet of the Week, which by the way, is always
- 10:47Speaker 5: pictures posted on Dave Island Radio and Facebook, the WCCHS
- 10:51Speaker 5: network Facebook page and also at dave A seventy on X.
- 10:53Speaker 5: How do the event go? At Dutch Miller last week?
- 10:56Speaker 7: Oh, that event was so successful. We had sixty six
- 11:00Speaker 7: options and there are still a couple pets out in
- 11:02Speaker 7: Foster to adopt that the people over at Dutch Miller
- 11:05Speaker 7: have agreed to pay for their adoption fees should the
- 11:08Speaker 7: families decide to adopt them. So we're looking at potentially
- 11:12Speaker 7: I think seventy six adoptions should all of them adopt.
- 11:16Speaker 5: Hats off to the folks at Dutch Miller, and again,
- 11:19Speaker 5: you know, they're great community partners on this thing, and
- 11:21Speaker 5: I had Chris Miller on a couple of weeks ago
- 11:23Speaker 5: to talk about it. But I also want to say
- 11:25Speaker 5: big shout outs on the corporate level to Subaru because
- 11:27Speaker 5: this is something that Dutch Miller does, but super U
- 11:30Speaker 5: does this nationwide and so a big props to the
- 11:34Speaker 5: folks of the super Rou corporation as well.
- 11:37Speaker 7: Absolutely, they actually had created small like Welcome Home Puppy
- 11:41Speaker 7: and Welcome Home Kitty goodie bags for adopters there and
- 11:44Speaker 7: they have like little tiny stuff Subero's in them. Super cute,
- 11:48Speaker 7: very cute.
- 11:49Speaker 5: All right, Let's get to our pet of the week.
- 11:51Speaker 5: A picture posted as I said, Dave aland Radio on
- 11:54Speaker 5: Facebook and at Dave a seventy on x also the
- 11:56Speaker 5: WCCHS network Facebook page. Skycop is our cat this week.
- 12:01Speaker 5: Tell us about Skycop So Skycopp is a bit older.
- 12:05Speaker 7: I would say he's probably around five to six years old,
- 12:08Speaker 7: but he is one of the sweetest cats that I
- 12:10Speaker 7: have met. And I know I say that about a
- 12:12Speaker 7: lot of them, but he truly has stolen my heart.
- 12:15Speaker 7: He was at the dust miller of it and sadly
- 12:18Speaker 7: did not get adopted. So we took him to Southbridge
- 12:21Speaker 7: cat Co where he's currently waiting. If you stop by,
- 12:24Speaker 7: he'll probably see him rolling around in catnip and his
- 12:26Speaker 7: kennel because he loved catnip. But he's just one of
- 12:30Speaker 7: the sweetest cats. With all those dogs barking and all
- 12:33Speaker 7: the visitors in our caravan trailer, he just like sat
- 12:37Speaker 7: there wanted to be held. He did not get stressed.
- 12:40Speaker 5: Well, I mean, Angie, he's stoned. That's the reason.
- 12:43Speaker 7: Why there was there was no catnip by that event.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Okay, all right, so he went clean that day, huh,
- 12:49Speaker 5: all right?
- 12:50Speaker 7: Absolutely, it's over for Dutchman.
- 12:52Speaker 5: It's a beautiful like a beautiful, beautiful cat. And again
- 12:56Speaker 5: I urge you to go over and take a look
- 12:57Speaker 5: at the picture. And it was funny because you sent
- 12:59Speaker 5: me the picture last night. And I want to clarify
- 13:01Speaker 5: this because the way that the pictures taken, he's half
- 13:04Speaker 5: in of his little cat playhouse and half out. So
- 13:07Speaker 5: I had to ask you, does he have all of
- 13:09Speaker 5: his legs because in the picture it doesn't looks like
- 13:11Speaker 5: he's missing an appendage or two, but he is not.
- 13:14Speaker 7: You tell me, yeah, he has all appendages, all eyeballs, like,
- 13:18Speaker 7: all body parts are there except for the trouble puffs
- 13:21Speaker 7: because he has been neutered.
- 13:22Speaker 5: So what hold on, hold on? What what did you
- 13:25Speaker 5: call him?
- 13:27Speaker 7: Trouble Puffs is still one of our volunteers, Jude to
- 13:30Speaker 7: take care of him.
- 13:31Speaker 5: My gosh, Angie, you're gonna get us both fired here
- 13:34Speaker 5: saying and I'll let you and I'll let you repeat it.
- 13:36Speaker 5: That's that's the bad thing about it, Lordy Mercy. Okay,
- 13:40Speaker 5: uh tell me about the name, uh sky Cop?
- 13:44Speaker 7: Yeah? So Skycop is actually a vanity license plate that
- 13:48Speaker 7: I saw sitting in traffic and a lot of our
- 13:51Speaker 7: shelter animals currently are starting to be named after that
- 13:53Speaker 7: because some people in our state have really good vanity license.
- 13:58Speaker 5: Okay, there you go.
- 13:59Speaker 7: The SKUYP is simply just a license plate.
- 14:02Speaker 5: Just know when you go to renew that plate that
- 14:04Speaker 5: it may end up being the name of a cat
- 14:07Speaker 5: or a dog. Here from a gnaw Charlest New Main Association.
- 14:09Speaker 7: I like it.
- 14:10Speaker 5: I like Skycott quickly, what do you need of up there?
- 14:13Speaker 5: What's the what do you need?
- 14:16Speaker 7: So we're actually it's still the same things, blankets, towul sheets,
- 14:21Speaker 7: all that good stuff. But I know a lot of
- 14:22Speaker 7: our cleaning supplies are running low, so like bleach, dish washing, liquid,
- 14:27Speaker 7: laundry detergent. That is kind of on the more important
- 14:30Speaker 7: side now. But of course we will take anything that
- 14:32Speaker 7: is pet related and make use of it.
- 14:34Speaker 5: You guys out and about anywhere.
- 14:37Speaker 7: Today we'll be at City National Bank in Kanall City

- 18:30Speaker 5: I want to talk about Biscuits and Gravy right now.
- 18:31Speaker 5: Second annual Biscuits and Gravy Ball coming to Capital Market
- 18:35Speaker 5: on November the eighth. Joanna Romeo's here. How you doing, Joanna?
- 18:38Speaker 5: Welcome back to the show.
- 18:39Speaker 10: Good Mari, I'm good.
- 18:40Speaker 5: And Tom's here, Tom Rommi your last name again mcgag,
- 18:42Speaker 5: Tom mcmay. And so last year this thing, somebody had
- 18:46Speaker 5: an idea, Tom, was it your idea? Was it your idea?
- 18:49Speaker 5: It was a Joanna, was it Yourea? It was your
- 18:51Speaker 5: idea and I was lucky enough to be able to
- 18:53Speaker 5: be a judge last year. Had a great time saying
- 18:55Speaker 5: how many biscuits and gravy combos that we have last year?
- 18:58Speaker 5: Do you remember?
- 18:59Speaker 3: I think?
- 19:00Speaker 10: But I think we have like nine. There's one person
- 19:02Speaker 10: that didn't do it. Biscuit and gravy.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Okay, we at last year. It was all good and
- 19:06Speaker 5: we want to have more this year. It's November the
- 19:07Speaker 5: eighth over at to Capital Market and this is a fundraiser.
- 19:11Speaker 5: Talk about where the funds go for this.
- 19:14Speaker 11: So for South Ridge Church, we do a lot of
- 19:16Speaker 11: different programs in the community and our real goal is
- 19:21Speaker 11: that we want to be a church that our community
- 19:22Speaker 11: can't live without. So we have a number of programs
- 19:26Speaker 11: that we work with. We work closely with the Women's
- 19:29Speaker 11: Addiction Recovery Center on the West Side, and we do
- 19:34Speaker 11: facilitate meals for four different grade schools during the Christmas
- 19:40Speaker 11: holiday when kids go home, oftentimes they don't have meals,
- 19:42Speaker 11: so we provide meals for the full family for over
- 19:46Speaker 11: one hundred and twenty five families. We work in partner
- 19:50Speaker 11: with another church for the Bread of Life food pantry
- 19:53Speaker 11: in South Ridge. We partner with Allen Creek Elementary Center
- 19:59Speaker 11: to help them with some of their community programs. We
- 20:03Speaker 11: feed the provide dinner for the UC football team before
- 20:06Speaker 11: their home games. So a lot of outreach events are
- 20:10Speaker 11: programs like that.
- 20:11Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's what I want to make sure people understand.
- 20:14Speaker 5: You guys do great things in the community outside the church.
- 20:17Speaker 5: And obviously you do things that you would associate with
- 20:20Speaker 5: a church, but you also do a lot of things
- 20:22Speaker 5: for people that don't necessarily go to your church. That's
- 20:24Speaker 5: what I'm trying to get at. Yeah, and that's why
- 20:26Speaker 5: I think this is such a great idea. So where
- 20:27Speaker 5: did the idea come from? Join How did you get
- 20:29Speaker 5: this idea to do a biscuit and break a gravy competition?
- 20:32Speaker 12: So my background's nonprofit and fundraising. So I got to
- 20:35Speaker 12: actually attend an event called the Biscuit and Gravy Bowl
- 20:37Speaker 12: in Ashland, Kentucky, back in twenty nineteen and so it
- 20:40Speaker 12: was a bunch of nonprofit set up and that's where
- 20:42Speaker 12: I got the idea.
- 20:43Speaker 10: And I was like, well, why didn't Charleston have a
- 20:45Speaker 10: breakfast event?
- 20:47Speaker 5: Yeah, And so it's going to be on November the
- 20:49Speaker 5: eighth over Capital Market and you're putting the call out
- 20:51Speaker 5: to who do you want to enter the competition?
- 20:54Speaker 12: I mean, so we got a good list if I
- 20:55Speaker 12: give him a shout out. So right now we have
- 20:58Speaker 12: Sam's Uptown Cafe, Back Bricks and Barrels, Sleepy Hollow Golf Club,
- 21:02Speaker 12: Coco's Kitchen, Chick fil A, Hagi's, Sima's Restaurant, Carver Culinary
- 21:09Speaker 12: Arts and Munch and Malt Cadrian. They're also known as
- 21:12Speaker 12: a Porte Cafe, so he's also participating in that name.
- 21:16Speaker 5: And you guys have already got I think, just basically
- 21:18Speaker 5: what you said to think you got more than last.
- 21:20Speaker 12: Year at fifteen. And we have five individuals and the
- 21:22Speaker 12: radio station got a couple. Dusty Thompson, I want to
- 21:25Speaker 12: give him a shout out, and then Cheryl Mantel and
- 21:27Speaker 12: Joe Romeo from last year he got second place for
- 21:30Speaker 12: Romeo's Grabies coming back, Paul Ronk and Linda mcpain.
- 21:33Speaker 5: So how does that work as far as the professional
- 21:36Speaker 5: so to speak? And the others tell me how that
- 21:38Speaker 5: how that division?
- 21:39Speaker 12: So everyone coming is professionals almost. We only have a
- 21:41Speaker 12: few that are sign up as want to be so
- 21:43Speaker 12: we're still taking sign ups. Want to be Yeah, that's
- 21:46Speaker 12: just individuals at Arn't restaurants and they just want to participate.
- 21:49Speaker 5: But there are two different categories they are okay, okay,
- 21:52Speaker 5: because sometimes it might be seen is a little unfair
- 21:55Speaker 5: to have somebody who, you know, you mentioned PG for example,
- 21:58Speaker 5: somebody who every weekend does that supposed to somebody who
- 22:02Speaker 5: isn't quote unquote trained. But I'm gonna tell you we
- 22:04Speaker 5: were talking earlier. You know, I had Chris Lawrence and
- 22:06Speaker 5: here and Tom Braggs. I had about high school fotball.
- 22:08Speaker 5: Chris talked about his mom's being the best. Tom talked
- 22:11Speaker 5: about his his granny, Granny Braggs being the best. Best
- 22:16Speaker 5: I've ever had was my late mother in law. So
- 22:19Speaker 5: I'll put him up against any any diner and or
- 22:22Speaker 5: dive out.
- 22:23Speaker 11: There, lots of you know that. That's the interesting thing
- 22:27Speaker 11: is that the variety of the way people prepare it,
- 22:33Speaker 11: you know, the gravy, the biscuits. It's just it's really
- 22:37Speaker 11: interesting that everything's different.
- 22:39Speaker 5: And it's something I think it's kind of interesting, something
- 22:43Speaker 5: that we all grew up eating around here. I don't
- 22:45Speaker 5: know where you guys are from originally, but here from
- 22:47Speaker 5: Ashley Okay, that goes without saying Tom Okay. So we
- 22:52Speaker 5: all grew up eating. And Stephanie, our producer, is also
- 22:55Speaker 5: an alum Creek person, so she's she's all about biscuits
- 22:58Speaker 5: and gravy as well. But there's somebody it's such a
- 23:01Speaker 5: simple food, but it's also there's so many different ways
- 23:05Speaker 5: to make it, you know, and uh, and being from
- 23:08Speaker 5: southern West Virginia, I would say that most of the
- 23:10Speaker 5: people's biscuits and gravy that I grew up eating, Uh,
- 23:14Speaker 5: we're pretty much the same couple. Different ingredients, but there's
- 23:17Speaker 5: different ways and people people go about it differently they do.
- 23:22Speaker 11: It's you know, different meats, different types of sausage, different
- 23:25Speaker 11: basis for the gravy.
- 23:27Speaker 3: And I love it.
- 23:28Speaker 11: It's uh, I'm a fan. Yeah, I truly enjoy it.
- 23:34Speaker 11: That's one experience that my wife and I had. We
- 23:36Speaker 11: were on a cruise several years ago and we decided
- 23:39Speaker 11: to go to dining. It was a cold morning, we
- 23:40Speaker 11: were gonna We went to the dining room and on
- 23:43Speaker 11: the menu they had biscuits and gravy, sausage gravy.
- 23:46Speaker 5: And we were excited. It's like, oh, yeah, I'm back
- 23:48Speaker 5: home again, and so.
- 23:50Speaker 11: They brought it and it was just a white, tasteless
- 23:54Speaker 11: gravy with a sausage link laid in the middle.
- 23:57Speaker 5: And that's what you know what that is. That's straight
- 23:59Speaker 5: up common munism. That's exactly what that is. But it
- 24:03Speaker 5: is different. And even places that you go in Appalatchua
- 24:07Speaker 5: or the South can be a little bit different. I mean,
- 24:09Speaker 5: the biscuits and gravy, and I'm talking about the true South,
- 24:13Speaker 5: you know, in Georgia and the Carolinas can be a
- 24:15Speaker 5: little bit different than what it is here in West
- 24:17Speaker 5: Virginia in Kentucky. But I'll tell you what it is,
- 24:19Speaker 5: and that's delicious. It's absolutely delicious. Now, so for people
- 24:23Speaker 5: that are thinking about entering, talking about individuals, so how
- 24:27Speaker 5: much do they need to make how do they get involved?
- 24:31Speaker 5: Is there a deadline? Talk about that joint.
- 24:33Speaker 12: Yeah, I mean as far as the deadline to go
- 24:34Speaker 12: on Dave event signage, we need it probably a week
- 24:37Speaker 12: prior to the event if they want to be included
- 24:38Speaker 12: on the day of event signage for the contenders, but
- 24:40Speaker 12: we'll take.
- 24:40Speaker 10: Them up to the day of, ok.
- 24:42Speaker 5: And how much do they need to plan on bringing?
- 24:43Speaker 12: So I'm telling everybody planning to do five to six
- 24:46Speaker 12: hundred servings, but only one to two out servings, So
- 24:49Speaker 12: that's about one hundred and twenty five biscuits and a
- 24:51Speaker 12: crock pot of gravy.
- 24:53Speaker 5: Crock pot of gravy. That was the same of my
- 24:56Speaker 5: third album, Day Out Alive, the crock Pot of Gravy,
- 25:00Speaker 5: and and last year it was a lot of fun
- 25:02Speaker 5: and I think I was I judged last year. I
- 25:04Speaker 5: think was Rob from KWS involved last year. Radio people
- 25:07Speaker 5: are always jumping in on stuff off it's free food
- 25:10Speaker 5: involved because I've done chili, I've done mac and cheese
- 25:12Speaker 5: and all these other different things. But do you still
- 25:14Speaker 5: need judges? No, we are full full up on judgment.
- 25:17Speaker 12: I was easy.
- 25:17Speaker 5: Am I judge? Am I judged this year? You are okay?
- 25:19Speaker 7: Cool?
- 25:20Speaker 11: All right?
- 25:20Speaker 5: I just want to want to make sure and I
- 25:21Speaker 5: do want to to stress too that as with most
- 25:26Speaker 5: reputable food competitions, we don't know who we're judging. All
- 25:29Speaker 5: we do is we get a number, so people can't say, well,
- 25:31Speaker 5: you know this guy, you know this lady, and that's
- 25:33Speaker 5: why they won. That's we get a number. This is
- 25:35Speaker 5: number seventeen. We sample it, we write it down and
- 25:38Speaker 5: we move on. We don't we generally speaking at events
- 25:40Speaker 5: like this, don't know who the winner is until the
- 25:43Speaker 5: crowd does, because we just know, okay, number seventeen got
- 25:45Speaker 5: the most ft. Well, we don't know who number seventeen
- 25:47Speaker 5: was until the crowd, but it is. It is a great,
- 25:50Speaker 5: great thing. And I think you're to be committed, you know,
- 25:53Speaker 5: for doing this. Because chili competitions are great. I've got
- 25:56Speaker 5: another one I'm going to be judging here in a
- 25:57Speaker 5: couple of weeks, and they're fantastic. But to doing something
- 26:00Speaker 5: a little bit different, but more importantly doing something great
- 26:03Speaker 5: for the community because time of you guys are doing
- 26:05Speaker 5: a lot of great things in the community out there.
- 26:06Speaker 5: Thank you, thank you, and and we want to continue
- 26:08Speaker 5: this all right, So where can people get more information?
- 26:12Speaker 5: Give us your Facebook or website whatever you got.
- 26:14Speaker 12: Join yes, so our church. You can go to www
- 26:16Speaker 12: dot src, dot life and sign up. That way you
- 26:20Speaker 12: can buy tickets or registered to be I want to
- 26:21Speaker 12: be or a professional.
- 26:23Speaker 5: Still to come up with a better name than want
- 26:25Speaker 5: to be? How about how about amateur?
- 26:27Speaker 10: I thought about that, but want to be made me laugh.
- 26:29Speaker 5: Okay, well that's all. Maybe you should sell t shirts
- 26:32Speaker 5: we are No, I mean I want to be t shirts,
- 26:35Speaker 5: want to be gravy king or something like that.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Do that?
- 26:38Speaker 3: All right?
- 26:38Speaker 5: So for people that are coming out over to Capitol Market,
- 26:40Speaker 5: how does the ticketing work?
- 26:42Speaker 12: So the pre sales you get them early it's fifteen adult,
- 26:44Speaker 12: five for children, and then day of it's twenty for adult,
- 26:48Speaker 12: ten for children.
- 26:49Speaker 5: Okay, And so what does that get me? If I
- 26:51Speaker 5: buy a ticket at the gate? What does that get me?
- 26:53Speaker 10: How it gets you the entrance in so you can
- 26:54Speaker 10: eat as much as you want as soon as you
- 26:56Speaker 10: come in.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Okay, because I didn't know, because some of these they
- 26:58Speaker 5: have tickets and it gets you like five, you can
- 27:00Speaker 5: have as much biscuits and gravy as you want for
- 27:02Speaker 5: how much?
- 27:03Speaker 12: Fifteen pre sale and twenty day of the event for
- 27:05Speaker 12: adults and then five for children pre sale and ten.
- 27:08Speaker 5: It's going to be it's going to be a lot
- 27:10Speaker 5: of fun. And again it's happening Saturday, November eighth, over
- 27:12Speaker 5: Capital Market. What time does it start?
- 27:14Speaker 10: Ten am?
- 27:15Speaker 12: And it goes on till noon and then we'll announce
- 27:18Speaker 12: the winners at between twelve fifteen and twelve thirty.
- 27:19Speaker 5: All right, and come hungry, right, exactly. Is there anything
- 27:23Speaker 5: else there for people that don't like biscuits and gravy.
- 27:26Speaker 11: We have a couple that, just as last year, that
- 27:30Speaker 11: are making different things. We don't know absolutes yet. Okay, Okay,
- 27:34Speaker 11: there'll be a couple different Okay, all.
- 27:36Speaker 5: Right, Well, we wish it the best of luck. It's
- 27:38Speaker 5: going to be a lot of fun. I know last
- 27:39Speaker 5: year we had a great time over there. And you know,
- 27:43Speaker 5: it's a rough life when you have to judge biscuits
- 27:46Speaker 5: and gravy. It's a rough life. Difficult's rough. Much pressure,
- 27:49Speaker 5: too much pressure, Joanna tome I appreciate you both being here. Thanks,
- 27:52Speaker 5: and we'll see over our November the eighth. Ok thanks

- 34:24Speaker 5: I'm thinking, well, as long as I get a clean spoon,
- 34:26Speaker 5: that's perfectly good chilli.
- 34:27Speaker 2: What was funny when you guys were done judging, like

- 34:40Speaker 2: You know, when you move somewhere for fourteen thousand dollars
- 34:43Speaker 2: a year, you take all the free meals.
- 34:46Speaker 5: Was that what you you were making when you moved
- 34:48Speaker 5: here to not at this covey but less money? Yes,
- 34:50Speaker 5: fourteen thousand dollars a year. Yes, and you came from
- 34:52Speaker 5: where Boston? You moved from Boston to saying as to
- 34:56Speaker 5: make fourteen thousand dollars?
- 34:57Speaker 3: Like, where am I going?
- 34:58Speaker 2: I looked, I remember pulling up the at let's go on, Well,
- 35:01Speaker 2: it's close to Detroit where mom is.
- 35:03Speaker 5: Yes, because because Charleston is very close to Detroit.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Well it's closer than Boston.
- 35:09Speaker 5: So all right, all r why are you here?
- 35:12Speaker 2: We have the Crawloween pub Crawl coming up Saturday night
- 35:16Speaker 2: tomorrow over on Old Main Street and Saint Albans. It's
- 35:20Speaker 2: the fundraiser for the Alban Restoration project and we're going
- 35:25Speaker 2: to be presenting them with a big, big check. The
- 35:29Speaker 2: facade needs to be replaced. It's decrepit, it's fallen down,
- 35:32Speaker 2: it's rusted, had some vandalism to the neon a couple
- 35:37Speaker 2: of years ago, and we want to get it fixed.
- 35:40Speaker 2: So it's a seventy thousand dollars plus plus project. We've
- 35:44Speaker 2: got the grant money set up. They just have to
- 35:48Speaker 2: have match funds and we're able or not matching. And
- 35:51Speaker 2: this is for the Alban Theater. And give us a
- 35:53Speaker 2: little background on the Album Theater. The Album Theater is awesome.
- 35:56Speaker 2: It's been there since sixteen twenty when Columbus.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Which is oddly enough when you came from from down
- 36:03Speaker 5: from Boston.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's a neat theater. They do a lot
- 36:06Speaker 2: with the Alburn Academy. Kids, can you know go there.
- 36:10Speaker 2: It's after school, it's learning, it's acting, it's a social
- 36:13Speaker 2: thing and they help out a lot of kids in
- 36:16Speaker 2: the area.
- 36:17Speaker 5: So now well and plus it's a great place for
- 36:19Speaker 5: plays other productions and I will say this. Uh, but
- 36:23Speaker 5: during COVID land Eal Eugene Murphy Junr very good friend
- 36:27Speaker 5: of mine, logan guy, Yeah, you do you do all
- 36:32Speaker 5: Landel's merch when concerts were basically shut down and you
- 36:37Speaker 5: couldn't perform anywhere. Land Al and big brother Burke got
- 36:41Speaker 5: this idea, well, we'll kind of do, for lack of
- 36:43Speaker 5: a better term, a pay per view type concert, and
- 36:46Speaker 5: of all places to do it, he did it at
- 36:48Speaker 5: the Albun Theater in St. Albans.
- 36:49Speaker 3: I remember it was awesome.
- 36:51Speaker 5: I mean, and it was at that time I think
- 36:53Speaker 5: when people needed that, and the Album Theater stepped up
- 36:56Speaker 5: and said, hey, we'll host him. You can come here
- 36:57Speaker 5: and do it and put a big spotlight on the
- 36:59Speaker 5: Album Theater because we're watching literally all over the country
- 37:02Speaker 5: going what is this little theater, you know, because it's
- 37:04Speaker 5: not it's not.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Big now it's not.
- 37:06Speaker 2: And a lot of Marley and Adam Bryant, they do
- 37:09Speaker 2: a lot of work there in the community and they've
- 37:12Speaker 2: embraced it and they.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Just they rock the place. So they do a lot
- 37:16Speaker 3: of good for the pub crawl.
- 37:19Speaker 2: We have tickets available if you go to Saint Albans
- 37:22Speaker 2: Pub Crawls Facebook page. You can get tickets there. T
- 37:25Speaker 2: Shirt Cup Beverages JC doing some live DJing on the street,
- 37:30Speaker 2: a ton of food trucks. All the restaurants are participating
- 37:34Speaker 2: with drink specials, the Cafe drummis Chuckers, the Tap, Cole
- 37:38Speaker 2: River Coffee, Nano Brewery will be on the street Cosamel.
- 37:41Speaker 5: So what times, everything starting against seven o'clock, seven o'clock.

- 37:54Speaker 2: Jeb Cory, thank you for sending your crew out making
- 37:57Speaker 2: sure people have a safe and fun time.
- 37:59Speaker 3: So it's going to be a good one.
- 38:00Speaker 5: And I love the fact that you know so so
- 38:03Speaker 5: many times with small businesses, you know, restaurants or that
- 38:05Speaker 5: there's competition, and that's that's not necessarily a bad thing,
- 38:09Speaker 5: but sometimes it gets out of control. And I love
- 38:12Speaker 5: that the folks in Saint Albans they do it very
- 38:14Speaker 5: well here in Charleston too, that they all work together.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Yeah, they do.
- 38:19Speaker 2: And because it's about bringing people together, and that's really
- 38:23Speaker 2: the main thing for a good cause.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Collectively in groups we can do a lot of good.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and uh, I'm sure somebody will have the WVU
- 38:30Speaker 5: game out there somewhere tomorrow night, because they play at
- 38:32Speaker 5: six o'clock tomorrow night. Somebody will have it, you know,
- 38:34Speaker 5: uh on their on their phone or their video or
- 38:37Speaker 5: something out there going up against TC who it's the
- 38:40Speaker 5: Uh yeah, it's homecoming for the Mountaineers, the like double
- 38:43Speaker 5: touchdown underdogs.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Yeah, well we'll see, we'll see what that's. That's why
- 38:46Speaker 2: they play a given Saturday.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Man. Yeah, all right, happened.
- 38:50Speaker 5: Uh So tomorrow night again seven o'clock and the weather
- 38:53Speaker 5: is going to be fantastics, gonna be cold, but it's
- 38:56Speaker 5: it's autumn. It's supposed to be cold, gonna be cloudy,
- 38:59Speaker 5: but uh yeah, it's great food.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Yeah, come in costume too, excuse me, best costume, best couple,
- 39:07Speaker 2: best group. There'll be cash prizes for that, and some
- 39:10Speaker 2: other prizes too to be one. So uh right there
- 39:13Speaker 2: on Old Main in Saint Albans. Yeah, and and look
- 39:15Speaker 2: if you are and I'm a foodie, I know you're
- 39:18Speaker 2: a foodie as well. Don't sleep on the food that
- 39:22Speaker 2: food options in Saint Albans, because there's some great places
- 39:25Speaker 2: to eat and what with what you're talking about here?
- 39:27Speaker 2: They're all within walking distance of each other, all of them.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I mean, really you can go stumbled in between all
- 39:31Speaker 2: of them and you I'm sure you.
- 39:32Speaker 5: Will tomorrow night as well. What's going on on the
- 39:34Speaker 5: mountain and our sister station that I'm.
- 39:37Speaker 2: A part of some rock and roll we've got scare View.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Actually that's uh going down tonight and tomorrow movenight, and
- 39:43Speaker 2: then next Friday, Halloween night.
- 39:45Speaker 3: We wrap it up with a live broadcast.
- 39:47Speaker 5: So, uh, scare of you Graves School, if you gotta
- 39:50Speaker 5: you know, you set the bar pretty high every year
- 39:53Speaker 5: with your costume on that final night of broadcast, and
- 39:56Speaker 5: you're actually there on Halloween next week, so you better
- 39:59Speaker 5: step up to the plate, you man.
- 40:00Speaker 3: That's what I've been told. And I really don't have
- 40:02Speaker 3: anything planned yet.
- 40:03Speaker 5: So sometimes it's the best costumes when you don't really plan.
- 40:07Speaker 5: I've got nothing, you know. Here's what we should do.
- 40:09Speaker 5: You should pick somebody in the building and you should
- 40:11Speaker 5: go with them.
- 40:12Speaker 3: You should go as me I could.
- 40:14Speaker 5: Yeah, if you were going to dress his day down,
- 40:17Speaker 5: what would you do?
- 40:17Speaker 3: I'll call your wife, she'll dress me.
- 40:21Speaker 5: I'm not sure I know what that means. But okay,
- 40:26Speaker 5: So crawlween tomorrow night, starting at seven o'clock. Yes, all right,
- 40:30Speaker 5: on the streets of Saint Albans, come on out, rock
- 40:34Speaker 5: Rock with the Mountain tomorrow night. We'll be all over
- 40:36Speaker 5: this thing and looking forward to it.
- 40:38Speaker 2: And like I said, next Friday, scare of your Grave
- 40:41Speaker 2: School on High Street at twelve bucks gets you in
- 40:44Speaker 2: ten dollars, gets you in with a non perishable food item.
- 40:46Speaker 5: All right, thanks, I'll be Tuesday night with the five
- 40:50Speaker 5: thousand kids over Trick or Beat. So and a quicker
- 40:54Speaker 5: quick reminder about that is it's a free event for
- 40:57Speaker 5: Trick or Beat, but you do need to have tickets
- 41:00Speaker 5: to get in. And that's just for the headcount because
- 41:01Speaker 5: last year it quote unquote sold out and you think, well,
- 41:04Speaker 5: how if it's a free event, can it sell out?
- 41:05Speaker 5: You can only put so many people in there, you know.
- 41:08Speaker 5: And so last year we did over thirty five hundred
- 41:10Speaker 5: kids and the two different sessions at Trick or Beat
- 41:13Speaker 5: over at Gomart Ballpark and to get sponsored by another
- 41:15Speaker 5: one of our sister stations, one of seven three to Beat.
- 41:18Speaker 5: So I'll be over there on Tuesday night looking looking at.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Well.
- 41:23Speaker 5: Okay, thanks for telling me that we only have tickets
- 41:25Speaker 5: available for the second session, and first session is sold outs.
- 41:30Speaker 5: So you were going to go to that early session,
- 41:33Speaker 5: you're out of luck that the early session is at
- 41:35Speaker 5: six the second session secary, So the first session is
- 41:37Speaker 5: sold out. I would I'm gonna go ahead and guess
- 41:39Speaker 5: that by the end of the day the second sessions
- 41:41Speaker 5: will be gone too. So if you're within the sound
- 41:43Speaker 5: of my voice right now and you want to bring
- 41:46Speaker 5: your kids after tricker beat, there's no charge to get in,
- 41:49Speaker 5: but you do have to have a ticket, and we
- 41:51Speaker 5: have them here daily during the Only kids need tickets. Staffan,
- 41:56Speaker 5: I'm aware she's so high for sometimes, so I need
- 42:01Speaker 5: a ticket. Yeah, so you did a ticket, yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 42:05Speaker 5: So the second session is all that is available at
- 42:09Speaker 5: this point, but they must have tickets. And again, very
- 42:11Speaker 5: good point by Stephanie. You don't have to have a
- 42:15Speaker 5: ticket if you're an adult, but the kids have to
- 42:16Speaker 5: have tickets. And but you need to get those tickets
- 42:18Speaker 5: today because I'm gonna say by five o'clock this afternoon,
- 42:21Speaker 5: they're gonna be gone gone. Don't poof boom. I'm gonna
- 42:25Speaker 5: work on your southern West Virginia accent. Alright, work with
- 42:27Speaker 5: me here gone.
- 42:29Speaker 3: As our good friend jay Non Noneley would have said.
- 42:32Speaker 5: Y'all be careful in them dogs.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Those tickets are gonna be gone.
- 42:36Speaker 5: Be careful of them dogs, all right, Seve animal, I'll

- 48:47Speaker 5: of Governor Morrissey sending the National Guard to d C's
- 48:51Speaker 5: being litigated. Brad Michaelhaney monitoring that Metro News Midday and

- 49:05Speaker 5: right now. It was scheduled to begin at nine to
- 49:07Speaker 5: thirty this morning. A lot of attention is on Judge
- 49:10Speaker 5: Richard Lindsay's courtroom. This case is challenging the governor's deployment
- 49:14Speaker 5: of the Guard to the DC, and again Brad writes
- 49:17Speaker 5: about it this morning wv Metronews dot com you'll call.
- 49:19Speaker 5: In August, the President declared a quote unquote crime emergency
- 49:24Speaker 5: in DC and Governor Morrissey sent three to four hundred
- 49:27Speaker 5: members of the Guard to the nation's capital. A lawsuit
- 49:30Speaker 5: was filed by the ACLU of West Virginia about it,
- 49:34Speaker 5: and you can read the exact text of a lawsuit
- 49:36Speaker 5: this morning. It's part of Brad's story. Lawsuit was actually
- 49:39Speaker 5: filed on behalf of the West Virginia Citizens Action Group,
- 49:42Speaker 5: which says the deployment was quote unprecedented in a political
- 49:47Speaker 5: act and not response to a genuine emergency, and that
- 49:50Speaker 5: violates West Virginia law. That hearing was set to begin
- 49:54Speaker 5: at nine thirty this morning. We will keep you posted
- 49:57Speaker 5: on that shooting last night at the Little Caesars over
- 50:00Speaker 5: on the West side of Charleston. Happened just after eight
- 50:02Speaker 5: o'clock lab more on that as more details become available,
- 50:05Speaker 5: and some sort of an incident happened yesterday involving ice
- 50:10Speaker 5: at the TJ max store and Sow Charleston. A woman
- 50:13Speaker 5: was shopping there and said she was being followed by
- 50:15Speaker 5: two men. Police and ICE agents were called in. Now
- 50:18Speaker 5: one man was arrested but the other was released. I
- 50:21Speaker 5: understand a lot of details have got to come out
- 50:23Speaker 5: about that as well. TJ. Meadows is stopping by, Hey
- 50:26Speaker 5: doing man.
- 50:27Speaker 16: I'm having a little tough tom breathing today. My airway
- 50:29Speaker 16: is a little obstructed.
- 50:31Speaker 5: All that national death that we have Americas is as well.
- 50:34Speaker 5: I knew there was a punchline. So this was supposed
- 50:36Speaker 5: to start in Lindsay's courtroom. Judge Lindsay, I'm sorry, yeah
- 50:39Speaker 5: at nine point thirty this morning.
- 50:41Speaker 16: Do we did it get underway? Do we know yet
- 50:43Speaker 16: or I don't know yet. I haven't heard anything from Brad.
- 50:46Speaker 16: I would say, you know, just typical delay or whatnot.
- 50:50Speaker 16: But it's God, Look, it's going to be interesting. I
- 50:53Speaker 16: think there's a dichotomy here. If the guard we're in Chicago,
- 50:57Speaker 16: I think it's a slam dunk. You don't do it
- 51:00Speaker 16: with DC being a Federal City. I think that muddies
- 51:03Speaker 16: the water a little bit or makes it more palatable
- 51:07Speaker 16: now whether or not it was just a political act,
- 51:09Speaker 16: why West Virginia's guard could the governor have said?
- 51:11Speaker 12: No?
- 51:12Speaker 16: Those are all distinct and separate issues. So I'm gonna
- 51:15Speaker 16: be interested to see exactly what arguments come out, how
- 51:19Speaker 16: this is framed beyond just the briefs, and we'll see
- 51:23Speaker 16: what happens and go from there.
- 51:25Speaker 5: But and I will say that if if Brad does
- 51:27Speaker 5: have something to report, I'm sure he'll come on with
- 51:28Speaker 5: you guys today. We'll have him on Middays. Well, if
- 51:31Speaker 5: there's something.
- 51:31Speaker 16: To report, Yeah, there's breaking news, I'm sure we'll go
- 51:33Speaker 16: right to mister Manilhaney.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Let me read a text for you. Go for it,
- 51:36Speaker 5: but this is actually for me. Dude, Do you have
- 51:38Speaker 5: a source for your claim that social security wasn't meant
- 51:40Speaker 5: to live on? Or is this just your vibes and
- 51:42Speaker 5: right wing brain rot? Okay, number one, I'm not right wing.
- 51:45Speaker 5: That's number one. It's in the title supplemental social supplemental
- 51:50Speaker 5: social Security. It's in the NAMN title. It's it's it
- 51:53Speaker 5: does it was never meant to live on?
- 51:55Speaker 16: Well, the retirement age has never been adjusted for the
- 51:57Speaker 16: growth in life expectancy either. When FDR put this together,
- 52:01Speaker 16: you know, we expected people to live much past what
- 52:04Speaker 16: late mid late sixties, and now they're living into their
- 52:06Speaker 16: eighties and nineties.
- 52:07Speaker 5: But it's in the title supplemental. I get you. I'm
- 52:09Speaker 5: just trying to help your argument out a little bit.
- 52:11Speaker 5: It's in the title. It's in the title supplemental. It
- 52:15Speaker 5: was never ever designed to live one. You know, that
- 52:17Speaker 5: personal responsibility thing.
- 52:18Speaker 3: It's overrated. Yeah, I agree, all.
- 52:20Speaker 5: Right, gotta go see you later day. I metroduce midday
- 52:23Speaker 5: till then have fun to love somebody
