- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah that uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:09Speaker 2: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go.
- 0:11Speaker 3: To uh eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It was bo wow that prime time. Maybe I had
- 0:18Speaker 2: a crush on Betty Rubble.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to a commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman
- 0:25Speaker 1: was black.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 2: the game. You're listening to to Gods in Company.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Steve Bob is with us on ste Gods in Company,
- 0:34Speaker 1: fresh off of vacation.
- 0:35Speaker 2: He is tired. He looks like a rerecord. I mean
- 0:37Speaker 2: he really does. No, no, no, I was, I know,
- 0:42Speaker 2: I never had this.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Much melanin in my body right, looking fucking ready, Well,
- 0:48Speaker 4: I don't know what ready for. I just I don't know.
- 0:51Speaker 4: I just I just feel like I look okay my hair,
- 0:54Speaker 4: I don't know where it's going on there.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Let's fuck you, I guess, well, thank you and fuck
- 0:57Speaker 2: you too. I love you. But I was You're saying
- 1:00Speaker 2: you look tired, I mean you should you know.
- 1:02Speaker 4: I mean I'm exhausted. Yeah, I'm exhausted. We did a
- 1:05Speaker 4: week at Disney with my wife's family. Unbelievable, twenty thousand
- 1:08Speaker 4: steps a day, seven days in a row of theme parks,
- 1:11Speaker 4: fucking getting it. Then I came back, did four days
- 1:15Speaker 4: of work last week before I flew to Mexico to
- 1:18Speaker 4: meet up with my family for the weekend. Again charmed existence,
- 1:21Speaker 4: spoiled bitch life. Yes, and it was. It was. It
- 1:25Speaker 4: was a very good time. But I drank a ton
- 1:29Speaker 4: of tequila, a ton of Pacifico's alway Pacifico when I'm
- 1:32Speaker 4: in Mexico, in Mexico, I mean yeah, then a and
- 1:35Speaker 4: then Saturday night I probably smoked like half a pack
- 1:39Speaker 4: of SIGs.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Oh nice, Yes, you know.
- 1:41Speaker 4: That's that's always that's not good for the vocal cords.
- 1:44Speaker 4: But uh but it was great. It was great. And
- 1:47Speaker 4: here I am on my favorite show ever.
- 1:49Speaker 3: So you actually asked a great question. What does being
- 1:51Speaker 3: tan make you look like you're ready for? Right, like
- 1:57Speaker 3: a weightlifting show, if you're like a bodybuilder. It's about
- 2:00Speaker 3: I could think, yes.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I would say, you would know.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Maybe ready to Okay, you know what the so Clivicular
- 2:14Speaker 4: you know this guy Clvicular, the looks Max and guy Have.
- 2:18Speaker 3: You heard of him? Yes, Yes, he's very.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Much in the and you know, the crosshairs of pop
- 2:23Speaker 4: culture right now. And I listened to an entire interview
- 2:26Speaker 4: that he did with Channel five, and he's of the
- 2:28Speaker 4: opinion the belief that basically being better looking just makes
- 2:34Speaker 4: everything in life better, like full stop, If you're better
- 2:37Speaker 4: looking every single facet of your life, will you at
- 2:40Speaker 4: least have the best chance to succeed at anything? Yes,
- 2:42Speaker 4: I don't know if I agree with that. I think
- 2:44Speaker 4: being tan kind of does.
- 2:45Speaker 3: The situation you're.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Being pale is better than being tan, unless I'm like
- 2:53Speaker 4: a finished sniper in World War Two trying to hide
- 2:55Speaker 4: out in the snow drift. I don't know if I
- 2:58Speaker 4: can come up with another one.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Tan makes you better looking, that's for sure, right, it
- 3:01Speaker 1: just does. Yeah, Taylor put it on the pole. Does
- 3:04Speaker 1: just Tan make you better looking? It does, of course
- 3:06Speaker 1: it does in terms of like what you're getting ready
- 3:09Speaker 1: to do or what you look like you're going to do.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I have no idea is have a better life?
- 3:13Speaker 3: No bodies nail that.
- 3:16Speaker 1: A good portion of your life because people will respect
- 3:18Speaker 1: you a little bit more.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe all I will say this all time great
- 3:23Speaker 4: feeling that anybody who's ever heard a beach trip can
- 3:25Speaker 4: appreciate is when you're you're burned, not burned too badly,
- 3:29Speaker 4: but you're a little crisp up and maybe even drinking
- 3:32Speaker 4: all day. You had a good time. And then you're
- 3:34Speaker 4: getting ready for dinner that night. Yeah, and maybe you're
- 3:37Speaker 4: eating outside and there's the cool ocean breeze salt in
- 3:41Speaker 4: the air, and you feel like you're radiating a little
- 3:43Speaker 4: bit of internal heat that isn't there normally.
- 3:48Speaker 3: You pick the perfect color to match that tan that
- 3:51Speaker 3: you happen to be wearing.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Oh, that's when you're doing. That's when you're confidence just skyrockets. Yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 4: when you when you when you feel like like, don't
- 3:58Speaker 4: don't see your boy in an all white linen, Like,
- 4:00Speaker 4: don't let me put white linen?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah, right ready, party put it on the Paul Taylor
- 4:09Speaker 1: is white Linen's code for I'm tan because I have
- 4:12Speaker 1: totally with you.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yes, you are.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You're like uber confident when you have that good tan,
- 4:16Speaker 1: working man. Did the kids come to Mexico with you
- 4:18Speaker 1: or no?
- 4:19Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, a lot of kids, A lot of kids.
- 4:23Speaker 4: I have three kids. My sister has three kids. She
- 4:26Speaker 4: just had a baby boy few months old. My little
- 4:28Speaker 4: brother just had a baby boy a few months old.
- 4:30Speaker 4: My brother's in law's family also came. They just had
- 4:33Speaker 4: a baby boy this three months old. So we're talking
- 4:36Speaker 4: probably like and we celebrated my sister's fortieth birthday. Nice,
- 4:39Speaker 4: So we're talking like just ten kids just everywhere, all
- 4:42Speaker 4: over the places, kids everywhere, so much fun.
- 4:46Speaker 2: What was the worst part about your trip?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Now, Mikey's going I think next week to uh to
- 4:51Speaker 1: Disney World.
- 4:52Speaker 2: What was the worst part of the trip for you?
- 4:56Speaker 4: There is sweat. Yeah, uh, there is no negative. Disney
- 5:00Speaker 4: is the best place on earth. Of your kids is incredible,
- 5:03Speaker 4: It's the most fun thing ever. Are their tantrums, yes,
- 5:05Speaker 4: are their challenges? Yes? But if you ever heard of
- 5:09Speaker 4: the the I have a high falutin video game content creator.
- 5:17Speaker 4: They're like this guy, Josh Trafaz, and he talks about
- 5:19Speaker 4: the paradox of human adversity to enjoyment, And basically this
- 5:24Speaker 4: is talking about the shit that is hard in your life.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Is the shit that really sticks with you, the shit
- 5:30Speaker 4: that you take pride in when you accomplish it. When
- 5:33Speaker 4: something's easy, sure you get a little quick dopamine hit,
- 5:36Speaker 4: but it means nothing long term. It's in and out,
- 5:39Speaker 4: it's cheap, it's a fucking bag of potato chips. Okay,
- 5:42Speaker 4: you go to Disney. Yeah, it's gonna be hot, it's
- 5:45Speaker 4: gonna be overwhelming amount of crowds. There's gonna be tantams,
- 5:48Speaker 4: there any lines, it's gonna be bathroom breaks. But you
- 5:49Speaker 4: know what else, there's gonna be fucking fun, very expensive,
- 5:54Speaker 4: irreplaceable house of mouse fun. Probably the worst part though,
- 5:59Speaker 4: was ident get to go to the Hall of Presidents
- 6:01Speaker 4: or the Carousel Progress oh wow. And I was demanding
- 6:04Speaker 4: that my family go the entire week, and I threw
- 6:07Speaker 4: a tantrum When we didn't go, I threw a tantrum
- 6:10Speaker 4: and my wife ended up getting very justifiably, very justifiably
- 6:15Speaker 4: angry at me.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Do they update either of those rides?
- 6:18Speaker 4: So I've never been. I go Disney every single year
- 6:21Speaker 4: for probably past like eight years, and I haven't been
- 6:24Speaker 4: back to either of those little kid and I know
- 6:26Speaker 4: that they just readid Hall of Presidents and like, on one hand,
- 6:30Speaker 4: I want to see, you know, the August Founding Father
- 6:33Speaker 4: President Animatronics of Old And on the other hand, I
- 6:37Speaker 4: got to know, what the fuck stupid ass Donald Trump honestly,
- 6:44Speaker 4: like I want to see like the modern guys that
- 6:46Speaker 4: we all clown as well. And then like, you know,
- 6:48Speaker 4: I want my kids to be like, oh my god,
- 6:50Speaker 4: there's George Washington.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I got to be honest. You miss nothing with the
- 6:53Speaker 2: uh with the carousel.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Okay of progress right, well, we haven't made any progresses.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah no, I'm just telling you. It's a long line.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It's a sweaty line.
- 7:02Speaker 1: It's a very long line for a twelve minute show
- 7:04Speaker 1: that quite frankly, you know the end.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I mean, we progressed.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Ok Mikey, I got a question. Give me a what
- 7:13Speaker 4: group are we going with? Give me a breakdown here real.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Fat So this is my mother in law's seventieth birthday.
- 7:19Speaker 5: So it's my wife's grandparents, me, my wife, my two
- 7:24Speaker 5: kids nine and seven, my brother in law, his wife,
- 7:28Speaker 5: who are Disney Vacation Club members.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Oh that's big, that's big.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 7:34Speaker 4: We love what we're here in all kinds of person.
- 7:35Speaker 5: And then and then a four year old girl, a
- 7:40Speaker 5: eight year old girl, and a six year old or
- 7:43Speaker 5: a seven year old boy.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Okay, so first off, I love the ages of the kids.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Fantastic time one and all for all of them.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I love this.
- 7:50Speaker 4: I'm a little disconcerted about the size of the group.
- 7:54Speaker 4: In my opinion, a trip to Disney World kind of
- 7:57Speaker 4: aligns with modern military theory. Okay, we're no longer in
- 8:02Speaker 4: ancient Rome. We're not lining up fifty We don't need
- 8:05Speaker 4: fifty thousand troops. We need a small surgical strike force
- 8:10Speaker 4: that can be able to adjust on the fly. We
- 8:12Speaker 4: need to be malleable, we can't be rigid. You got
- 8:15Speaker 4: a big group, now, that said the DBC membership of
- 8:20Speaker 4: your in laws or whoever was, that's huge because they're
- 8:24Speaker 4: going to be your shirpa. Like you would it climb
- 8:26Speaker 4: Everest without a Tibetan sirpa, right, Like, thank God for you,
- 8:30Speaker 4: because you would be deeply fucked if you didn't have
- 8:33Speaker 4: them to show you the way. So I'm actually feeling
- 8:35Speaker 4: okay for you now outside of the size of the group,
- 8:38Speaker 4: because that is going to be a lightning lane scheduling nightmare,
- 8:44Speaker 4: and the bathroom breaks are going to be out of control.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Just prepare yourself to search somebody to have to piss
- 8:50Speaker 4: every pod, like like literally every time your group walks,
- 8:53Speaker 4: somebody's gonna have to stop and.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Piss wait, did you say your seventy year old grandma
- 8:58Speaker 1: is going to this?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Is that what you said?
- 9:00Speaker 6: This is her birthday, It is her birthday.
- 9:03Speaker 2: There is her choice. Okay, no, her birthday. She did
- 9:05Speaker 2: not choose this. There is no way.
- 9:07Speaker 1: You said, hey, grandma, what do you want to do
- 9:09Speaker 1: for your seventieth And what she said is I want
- 9:11Speaker 1: to walk around the park with a bunch of kids.
- 9:13Speaker 2: There's no way.
- 9:14Speaker 5: I mean, the amount that they're paying, this better be
- 9:20Speaker 5: her choice abs buy the hotel and ticket.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It seems like it was.
- 9:26Speaker 1: It seems like it was your choice and the parents
- 9:27Speaker 1: who have kids choice and not grandma's choice.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And now Grandma is being forced to go to Disney World.
- 9:32Speaker 2: That's what it feels like.
- 9:33Speaker 5: It's more of Grandma's going to do it so that
- 9:36Speaker 5: she holds it over for a long time.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I remember what we did for my birthday.
- 9:41Speaker 5: We did Disney.
- 9:41Speaker 6: You know what I'm doing now whenever I want.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Yeah, it looks it's a thing too. Were like, it's
- 9:47Speaker 4: a lot of bullshit. Okay, but the best part about
- 9:51Speaker 4: Disney is twofold. First, it's an environment created from the
- 9:58Speaker 4: ground up for kids, so you don't have to have
- 10:02Speaker 4: any shame over your kids acting like assholes or running
- 10:05Speaker 4: around because it's felt like everybody gets it. Everybody's in
- 10:08Speaker 4: the same boats, like going out to a nice restaurant
- 10:10Speaker 4: and you're like, oh, fuck, dude, how do I get
- 10:11Speaker 4: this kid to stop being crazy? Or you just literally
- 10:14Speaker 4: The second thing is you're just present due, You're just
- 10:19Speaker 4: present with your family because you're all in the fight together.
- 10:23Speaker 4: There's no work, there's no phone calls, no bullshit. Everybody's
- 10:27Speaker 4: just out there experiencing it all together. And that's where
- 10:30Speaker 4: the real magic happens. Also, everything's so expensive that it
- 10:34Speaker 4: has an almost paradoxical effect of making money feel fake.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Like the amount of money like you're.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Not spending a time right, yes, yeah, like.
- 10:44Speaker 4: It's monopoly money, it doesn't matter. And then you get home,
- 10:47Speaker 4: you go through horrible anxiety. You put together budget plans
- 10:50Speaker 4: for the next few months. But yeah, the amount of
- 10:53Speaker 4: fifteen dollars beers that I took down.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't feel like families are rallying saying hey,
- 10:57Speaker 1: we're all in this together. I feel like they're fighting
- 10:59Speaker 1: a half hour are in You know, it breaks up families,
- 11:02Speaker 1: That's what it does about that.
- 11:03Speaker 4: The fights happen. The fights happen, absolutely, but then you'll
- 11:08Speaker 4: be fighting one second and in the next second you're
- 11:10Speaker 4: gonna see a smile plastered on your kid's face. Cannot
- 11:13Speaker 4: be recreated unless fucking there's a sweaty person in a
- 11:17Speaker 4: goofy costume walking.
- 11:19Speaker 3: All that disappears the second you get back into air
- 11:22Speaker 3: conditioning with all the kids accounted for.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Right, but that is quite the accomplishment. You feel really
- 11:27Speaker 1: good about your buddy's right emotion. Emotions can change on
- 11:30Speaker 1: a dime at Disney. He is one right about that.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Go ahead, Taylor, t Bob.
- 11:36Speaker 7: I feel like you'd be a great dad to go
- 11:38Speaker 7: to a merch store with. Like, if I go in
- 11:40Speaker 7: a merch store with you, I feel like I'm leaving
- 11:43Speaker 7: with about five hundred dollars worth of things.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I yeah, I I just it's kind
- 11:49Speaker 4: of how I was. My dad was a big themed
- 11:52Speaker 4: park nerd and he's also like a big merchant, Like like,
- 11:55Speaker 4: probably the greatest day of my life when they re
- 11:58Speaker 4: release Star Wars in the nineties and theater, my dad
- 12:00Speaker 4: took me out of school to watch Star Wars. Then
- 12:02Speaker 4: we went to Toys r Us. He's like Okay, you
- 12:04Speaker 4: can get one toy, and so I picked out my
- 12:06Speaker 4: toy and then he was like, well, look, if you
- 12:08Speaker 4: have him, then you need this guy because they're gonna fight.
- 12:11Speaker 4: He said, well, if you have this guy, well you
- 12:12Speaker 4: need the exit because he finds it. And then next
- 12:14Speaker 4: I swear to god, this is the ultimate like son
- 12:16Speaker 4: of an NFL quarterback spoil kid day. Ever, I left
- 12:19Speaker 4: with one of every single Star Wars toy that was
- 12:23Speaker 4: in that Toys r us and it has never left me.
- 12:26Speaker 4: It was the best day of my life. So yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 4: like we bought so many We already have way too
- 12:30Speaker 4: many toys of the house, and we bought so many
- 12:32Speaker 4: shitty toys this last trip.
- 12:33Speaker 2: He said.
- 12:34Speaker 4: Also, Epcott's the greatest place on earth, Mikey, Epcott's the
- 12:37Speaker 4: absolute best pot tip for the kids, because you want
- 12:40Speaker 4: to drink, You want to go drink around the world,
- 12:42Speaker 4: you want to get hammered or whatever. They have scavenger
- 12:45Speaker 4: hunts that are all around the park that keep the
- 12:48Speaker 4: kids engaged when you're going country to country, even when
- 12:51Speaker 4: you're not riding rides, so you can go get you know,
- 12:54Speaker 4: a beer, a cocktail, whatever you may want.
- 12:57Speaker 2: No Mikey has grandma. I mean, she's gonna love it. Grandma.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Here are the kids.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I'm getting drunk, you know, Mikey's grandma active. Grandma was
- 13:08Speaker 4: old tackling the parks. We love to see that.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Dude.
- 13:10Speaker 4: May we all age so gracefully?
- 13:12Speaker 3: Has she never been?
- 13:13Speaker 5: It's my wife's mother. She's she's been. They've been there.
- 13:17Speaker 5: They're a Disney family.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I like the joke.
- 13:20Speaker 5: I worked at ESPN when we met, and my wife
- 13:23Speaker 5: agreed to marry me because she found out she got
- 13:25Speaker 5: a card with her name on it that got her
- 13:27Speaker 5: into the parks whenever she want. Like, I like, will
- 13:30Speaker 5: you marry me? She's like, and when do I get
- 13:33Speaker 5: the card? Okay, yes, I'll marry.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I was we used to have a similar card I did.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Nobody threatened to marry me.
- 13:43Speaker 4: See that's like, if you all didn't take advantage of that,
- 13:46Speaker 4: that's fucking crazy. I was literally telling my wife, it's
- 13:49Speaker 4: very happy with my job. Obviously I want to be
- 13:51Speaker 4: here forever. But I was like, man, it would just
- 13:53Speaker 4: be so cool if one day I worked like for
- 13:56Speaker 4: a company owned by Disney and just go to the
- 13:58Speaker 4: parks whenever and get like some sort of b ip hookup.
- 14:01Speaker 4: That would be the that would be the durk.
- 14:03Speaker 1: So listen to this. Mike Golic Senior. He worked longer
- 14:06Speaker 1: than fifteen years at ESPN. He has those passes for life.
- 14:09Speaker 1: It's unbelievable.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Yeah ten years ago.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Oh my god, yes, hold the phone. Yeah yeah, if
- 14:14Speaker 3: you worked there for more than fifteen years, you get
- 14:16Speaker 3: those cards for that.
- 14:17Speaker 2: How long were you there?
- 14:17Speaker 3: Sixteen? Those damn cards?
- 14:20Speaker 4: Your card from.
- 14:23Speaker 3: ESPN forgot to give me ship like a long time ago.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Maybe after like five years, I got like a little
- 14:28Speaker 3: mini Mickey mouse pick. Ten years nothing they all forgot.
- 14:31Speaker 2: To give you know what, I know what, I am sorry.
- 14:33Speaker 2: It was twenty years for my Golic. Okay, almost twenty
- 14:36Speaker 2: years for my ya.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I left it four years before the goal.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Oh man, I was so close ten twelve years ago.
- 14:45Speaker 4: That that card kind of reminds me of a fact
- 14:47Speaker 4: car that I used to have was I was a
- 14:52Speaker 4: I loved Dippin' dots growing up, and I used to
- 14:54Speaker 4: always daydream that, like my grandpa owned Dippin' Dots, and
- 14:58Speaker 4: I can just show up to any Dippin' outstand and
- 15:00Speaker 4: give him the card, and the next thing, you know,
- 15:02Speaker 4: I got fucking free cookie dough dippin dot.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Ever, you know that that's not the ice cream of
- 15:07Speaker 1: the future, Jesus, It's been the ice cream of the
- 15:09Speaker 1: future since the eighties.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Yes, when they hit that perfect half melted texture, whether
- 15:19Speaker 4: where they're not like they're good when they're fresh, but
- 15:21Speaker 4: perfect in between zone. Yeah, almost purgatorial dippin' dot.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I wonder if I go back to ESPN. That's that
- 15:28Speaker 1: I'm looking to go back to ESPN. But if those
- 15:30Speaker 1: years are retroactive, meaning if I you know, if I
- 15:32Speaker 1: start over again, is it just twelve years get.
- 15:34Speaker 3: A permitting card? Yeah, I just did four more years.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I'm going to plant you there.
- 15:39Speaker 4: It's got you. Just look. Just hit the transfer portal, Yes, portal, quick,
- 15:42Speaker 4: little stop four years, get out transfer back.
- 15:45Speaker 1: The sports media transfer portal is exceptional.

- 17:54Speaker 2: Are you into the final four? Are you into Tonight's
- 17:56Speaker 2: National Championship?
- 17:57Speaker 4: Getting Yeah, yeah, very much. I love skin in the game,
- 18:00Speaker 4: like this is a funny company since Dave owns it,
- 18:03Speaker 4: where the money that he loses gambling it directly threatens
- 18:08Speaker 4: people's jobs, right because those are salaries that he then
- 18:11Speaker 4: has to make up and he has a future on
- 18:14Speaker 4: Michigan fifty k to pay five hundred k. So we
- 18:17Speaker 4: really need that because I think he's currently lost over
- 18:20Speaker 4: a quarter of a million dollars betting on every Red
- 18:22Speaker 4: Sox game thus far. Oh God, absolutely brutal, dude.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So if he wins, you're so unclear on this. If
- 18:28Speaker 1: he wins, multiple people get hired. If he loses, someone's
- 18:32Speaker 1: getting fired.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Is that or at least they keep their jobs because
- 18:35Speaker 4: like he can measure his winnings and salaries. Like this morning,
- 18:39Speaker 4: we have this guy Mutt, a Yukon fan, who he
- 18:41Speaker 4: just hired, and he basically said, like, yeah, if I win,
- 18:43Speaker 4: I have x amount of mutts. So so yeah, so
- 18:48Speaker 4: I have a rooting interest in both the Michigan winning tonight,
- 18:51Speaker 4: right and and the Red Sox getting their shit together
- 18:54Speaker 4: and starting to play better base. But no, look, in
- 18:57Speaker 4: all seriousness, the the semifinals were let down in terms
- 19:04Speaker 4: of the games themselves. But it is fascinating and I
- 19:10Speaker 4: hope it results in a good game. It is fascinating
- 19:12Speaker 4: to think about the tangible dominance of this year's Michigan
- 19:17Speaker 4: team against the sort of ethereal magic of Yukon in March,
- 19:24Speaker 4: because like, here's what's fucking crazy. If Yukon wins tonight,
- 19:27Speaker 4: We're talking they got seven natties all time, that puts
- 19:31Speaker 4: them ahead of you and c like at that point
- 19:34Speaker 4: they're only behind UCLA in Kentucky and like and like Kentucky, Like, yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 4: Adolph Brook win four tournaments. There were eight teams in
- 19:44Speaker 4: the tournament correct at the time.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Straight to the elite eights, right, yes.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Ninety nine is it really boggles? Like you could probably
- 19:53Speaker 4: make the argument that it's more impressive than eleven for UCLA.
- 19:57Speaker 4: I definitely think it's more impressive than Kentucky's eight. So yeah, like,
- 20:00Speaker 4: like Yukon is really playing with just some insane legacy
- 20:04Speaker 4: potential here.
- 20:05Speaker 1: We now know Taylor's rooting interest, and that interest is Michigan.
- 20:08Speaker 1: He does not want Yukon passing North Carolina. He's still
- 20:11Speaker 1: waiting to get himself a fucking head coach. I mean, Jesus,
- 20:15Speaker 1: still waiting.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Yeah, what are you gonna.
- 20:18Speaker 7: It seems like Billy Donovan is pretty uh dead set
- 20:22Speaker 7: on not talking until the Bull season ends. But the
- 20:25Speaker 7: transfer portal opens tomorrow, so right now, it just feels
- 20:28Speaker 7: like kind of like a Western standoff of both teams
- 20:32Speaker 7: just looking at each other with guns kind of.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Pointed old fashioned shootouts.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Yes, but who's the other option if it's not Billy.
- 20:39Speaker 3: If there's a standoff there, who's waiting on the side
- 20:41Speaker 3: to see Billy get shot?
- 20:42Speaker 7: It's like Vanderbilt's coach, Texas text coach, Iowa's coach. That's
- 20:46Speaker 7: probably like the next tier of names.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Anytime you're saying school name, coaching coach, Yes, that's bad
- 20:54Speaker 4: that somewhere you're not giving me their name, then they're
- 21:01Speaker 4: not worthy of you and c. So you better get
- 21:03Speaker 4: your ship together and get billy.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 1: No, it got fucked up at Tommy Lloyd. That's where
- 21:07Speaker 1: I got sucked up and Steve Carab being his Michael Jordan.
- 21:10Speaker 4: I mean Jesus, I mean couldn't couldn't could it be me?
- 21:12Speaker 4: You know? I just got Will Wade back on the sideline,
- 21:16Speaker 4: my fucking guy. Yeah, the prodigal son returns. Yes, sorry
- 21:21Speaker 4: about it. Oh, y'all mad? National media is mad, and
- 21:25Speaker 4: shoes have no priority. You have bad education, cabal health
- 21:28Speaker 4: care and you used money cutage sports fucking crimea river. Okay,
- 21:33Speaker 4: I want to win. You know what stimulates the economy?
- 21:37Speaker 4: Sports winning? Yes, and that's what we're about. Okay, put
- 21:40Speaker 4: it on the Paul Taylor.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Does sports winning stimulate the economy? Put it on the ball, please.
- 21:48Speaker 4: It's called dribble down economics. Look it up.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Read the book. I won't t bomb.
- 21:55Speaker 7: I'm so glad you mentioned Will Wade because there's a
- 21:59Speaker 7: tweet that Will Wade might have closed on a house
- 22:03Speaker 7: in Baton Rouge, his old house in Baton Rouge on
- 22:06Speaker 7: February twenty third, while he was still the coach at
- 22:08Speaker 7: NC State, And you look at some of the metrics
- 22:11Speaker 7: of NC State basketball. Before that date, they were nineteen
- 22:15Speaker 7: and eight and they were the number twenty seven team
- 22:17Speaker 7: in the country according to Bart Torvik. After that date,
- 22:22Speaker 7: they were one and six, and they fell from twenty
- 22:25Speaker 7: seventh to one hundred and first in the metrics. Will
- 22:29Speaker 7: Wade kind of seems like he had one foot out
- 22:31Speaker 7: the door his last couple of months in Rolling kind.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Of seems I mean, Stu said, Portole opens tomorrow. I mean,
- 22:37Speaker 4: what you want the guy to just show up and
- 22:39Speaker 4: do a week. He had had to lay the groundwork.
- 22:41Speaker 4: You can't just convince a recruit to go to your
- 22:43Speaker 4: school if you're not on him for a few weeks
- 22:45Speaker 4: he had started for payer. It makes sense to me.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I mean, you lead the SEC and coaches who lied
- 22:50Speaker 2: to their fucking reviews school fan bases.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, you do right, like hijacking the news
- 22:58Speaker 4: cycle during the college football playoff and then not to
- 23:01Speaker 4: the to the full extent, but like inserting themselves in
- 23:05Speaker 4: the March madness news cycle when LSU basketball had no
- 23:09Speaker 4: right to be mentioned by anybody in the college basketball realm.
- 23:14Speaker 4: It's it's it's insane. The amount of money they're spending
- 23:16Speaker 4: is actually say, but I told you all about it,
- 23:20Speaker 4: and and I'm not like this man's politics at all,
- 23:23Speaker 4: but it is. Jeff Landry, the governor, is just all in. Look,
- 23:28Speaker 4: it's a bit like an ancient Roman emperor. Okay, what
- 23:31Speaker 4: do you do to keep the common man happy? Gladiatorial games? Right? Like,
- 23:36Speaker 4: I'm not gonna fix this it, I mean, fix the infrastructure,
- 23:38Speaker 4: fuck all that. I'm just gonna give him fucking beer
- 23:42Speaker 4: and entertainment and winning and then they're gonna be happy.
- 23:45Speaker 4: And that's basically what they've done here.
- 23:48Speaker 7: And Will Wade knows exactly what he's doing playing up
- 23:50Speaker 7: to that fan base too when he says I'm not
- 23:52Speaker 7: for everybody, but LSU is and for everybody too.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, no, I mean and and I think there's
- 23:57Speaker 4: some truth to that. Also, I'm biased because I love
- 24:01Speaker 4: Baton Rouge and I will always consider it my home.
- 24:04Speaker 4: But it's a city that if you visit Baton Rouge
- 24:08Speaker 4: versus visiting let's say Oxford, Uh, you're gonna be like,
- 24:12Speaker 4: oh my god, Oxford is so nice. I would definitely
- 24:14Speaker 4: want to live there. And then you live there and
- 24:16Speaker 4: you're like, wait, this is a fucking boring college town,
- 24:19Speaker 4: like bat Ruge is a capital city of a state,
- 24:22Speaker 4: and it's got to the culture. Guys, you cannot say
- 24:25Speaker 4: enough about the culture. And I know a lot of
- 24:28Speaker 4: people do douchey gatekeeping with like if you know, you
- 24:31Speaker 4: know stuff, But allow me to be the latest in
- 24:34Speaker 4: that long line of douchebags, because once you live there,
- 24:37Speaker 4: there's a certain genese quah that it's just it's it's
- 24:41Speaker 4: it's just well, I don't want to say it's just different.
- 24:42Speaker 4: I think that's the doucheiest slogan ever and that's a
- 24:44Speaker 4: lank given and the football team's been doing it. But
- 24:47Speaker 4: but but look, I'm now living in the Midwest for
- 24:49Speaker 4: the first time and like, it's fine, it's fine, but
- 24:53Speaker 4: it's not. I'm it's I struggle. It's not it's it's
- 24:56Speaker 4: not back home. And maybe that's just anywhere. But I
- 24:58Speaker 4: fucking love Baton Rouge Wade it as well. And obviously
- 25:02Speaker 4: Lane Cliffin thought Oxer was born as fun.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I mean, those two are gonna be best fucking friends.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Huh Will Wade and coach Mulk and.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Coach watch the fuck out, dude. Jay Johnson's the only
- 25:13Speaker 4: good guy coach he got. But he's he's he's incredible.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Oh my god, the holy trinity of scumback coaches.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Unbelievable, only your school.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Congratulations, Fuck you guys. There's the old jay Z line. Uh,
- 25:28Speaker 4: what is it like middle finger to the Lord gripping
- 25:30Speaker 4: my balls? That's basically now, let's use sport now listen.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I was being genuine and sincere. Congratulations to you, man.
- 25:37Speaker 4: I I love it. I love it. Dude, we got
- 25:40Speaker 4: the infinity stones of of like villain coaches right. Uh?
- 25:45Speaker 1: Why is Taylor telling me you're on social media giving
- 25:48Speaker 1: La La Land reviews.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Yeah, finally saw it on the plane yesterday, five hour
- 25:52Speaker 4: flight back from Mexico. I decided to do some Emma
- 25:55Speaker 4: Stone Maxine. Uh. First I watched Begonia.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Oh my god, what terrible movie.
- 26:03Speaker 1: This is great because, yes, I maintained there were no
- 26:06Speaker 1: two different personalities on the planet than t Bob and
- 26:08Speaker 1: is he.
- 26:08Speaker 3: So the only thing that made that movie good was
- 26:11Speaker 3: Emma Stone. Okay, she's amazing. She looked great with her
- 26:14Speaker 3: bald head and everything else a terrible story. It's his reviews.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Flemmons was a tour to force.
- 26:21Speaker 4: He was from a pure acting standpoint, Flemmens, that was
- 26:25Speaker 4: a real guy. I was watching like it was him
- 26:28Speaker 4: and Stone. I mean, Stone is always incredible, we know that,
- 26:30Speaker 4: and Pleman's actually is always incredible as well, to be fair,
- 26:33Speaker 4: but but I've never seen him like, how do I say?
- 26:36Speaker 4: It was a different character that I'm used to seeing
- 26:38Speaker 4: Jesse Pinton's play, for sure, and he completely embodied and
- 26:42Speaker 4: a little slow paced it first, but the ending is
- 26:44Speaker 4: such a frenetic, just insane, like insane.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Say, it's a great word for it, and what the
- 26:52Speaker 3: hell those aliens bodies, all of it.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I love it? And then and then so there was that,
- 26:59Speaker 4: and then I watched Lala Land right with timely review
- 27:02Speaker 4: by me tenth anniversary of Lalla Land's release.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Everybody's talking about it.
- 27:08Speaker 3: The people are talking about and it's like, oh yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 3: ten years.
- 27:12Speaker 4: I love movies. I love how movies are made. I
- 27:16Speaker 4: don't love the reality of Hollywood. I think it encourages
- 27:20Speaker 4: a lot of ego, a lot of heartbreak, a lot
- 27:23Speaker 4: of bad stuff in a lot of ways, taking advantage,
- 27:25Speaker 4: you know, all this sort of shit. Uh and and
- 27:28Speaker 4: and because of that, knowing it was a love letter
- 27:31Speaker 4: to Hollywood, I was kind of cynical entering it. But
- 27:35Speaker 4: everything in real life has wars. I think it's okay
- 27:40Speaker 4: to enjoy a disneyfied version of something right like like
- 27:45Speaker 4: like like like a mythologized version that this is what it's.
- 27:49Speaker 4: When something is like what it's, that it's most romantic
- 27:52Speaker 4: and and that's exactly what Lalla Land was. And I
- 27:55Speaker 4: loved it. I felt so inspired. I was crying at
- 27:59Speaker 4: the end. It was beautifully shot. The music's incredible. I'm
- 28:02Speaker 4: gonna be listening to it for the next two months.
- 28:04Speaker 4: And the the other part about it is it does
- 28:08Speaker 4: the meta thing of it's celebrating honoring Hollywood, honoring old Hollywood,
- 28:12Speaker 4: and it brought an old Hollywood style movie to the
- 28:16Speaker 4: modern age, which I didn't think you could do that anymore.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Like James Kelly and his female co star like up there,
- 28:21Speaker 4: like dancing and whatnot. And and so it was. Yeah,
- 28:25Speaker 4: it was two thumbs up, guys, Wala Land. Great movie.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Everybody should go check it out.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Congratulations on being more current than Taylor. Last week, he
- 28:33Speaker 1: reviewed two movies, Field of Dreams.
- 28:35Speaker 2: And my cousin Vinnie. I mean out of that.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Wait, okay, hold on, Taylor, what did you think about
- 28:40Speaker 4: Field of Yeahs?
- 28:42Speaker 2: Knocked that out of the park.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Yeah, like Field of Dreams? What, Yeah, I don't like
- 28:48Speaker 4: Field of Dreams, Taylor, Yeah, I don't like it.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I don't think there's I don't think there's the worst
- 28:56Speaker 3: way to watch La La Land, which was known for
- 28:58Speaker 3: a lot of its use and its cinematography, than on
- 29:01Speaker 3: a little teeny tiny airplane TV.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Bobby, Yeah, well even worse.
- 29:05Speaker 4: It's on my phone, so like Stone actually give you
- 29:08Speaker 4: a screen now, they just want to give you the
- 29:09Speaker 4: free entertainment option airplay Wi Fi called captive Wi Fi
- 29:14Speaker 4: always gives me a bit of claustrophobic anxiety when I'm
- 29:16Speaker 4: signing into it.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Uh, that's fair, that's fair. Ye, you're actually you're actually no.
- 29:23Speaker 4: I mean I don't even have a follow up. Because
- 29:24Speaker 4: Damion Chazelle did so much cool shit. There so many
- 29:27Speaker 4: practical effects, the lighting, the colors all pop. I need
- 29:31Speaker 4: to watch that on my four K TV at home.
- 29:33Speaker 7: Mikey, do not mischaracterize my review of Field of Dreams.
- 29:37Speaker 7: I thought it was good. I didn't think it was
- 29:39Speaker 7: the greatest movie ever the way some people talk about it.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Agreed, the greatest baseball movie ever. I discovered a portal
- 29:46Speaker 4: to the afterlife. Let's play baseball.
- 29:48Speaker 1: No, I know, but here's the problem. It was built up.
- 29:51Speaker 1: It was hyped up so much for Taylor. If you
- 29:53Speaker 1: just went to see it in the movies with no expectations,
- 29:55Speaker 1: you would have loved it. But because everyone's talked about
- 29:57Speaker 1: it as the greatest movie of all time, it had
- 30:00Speaker 1: to fall flat just a little bit for Taylor and
- 30:03Speaker 1: for you.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Yes, that that that that is completely fair. I also
- 30:06Speaker 4: find that's what people did with Sinners in one battle
- 30:09Speaker 4: after another. We're like, those are both awesome movies, very fun.
- 30:12Speaker 4: But you know, something gets loved so much of the
- 30:14Speaker 4: the the natural effect of the internet is just a
- 30:17Speaker 4: well actually and rubber band against.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Would you like to hear Mikey A's impersonation of James
- 30:23Speaker 1: Earl Jones, Yes.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Which, by the way, beats the hell out of Mark Conkman's.
- 30:31Speaker 2: People will come ready, they will come to see baseball
- 30:35Speaker 2: my god.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Yeah, Mikey, Yeah, that's pretty fucking good.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I could it not be better than Mark Conkman's all
- 30:41Speaker 1: he says is, hey, James Earl Jones, you have to
- 30:50Speaker 1: feel you.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Have to reach down deep.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I was.
- 30:57Speaker 3: I was ready to hate that, Mikey, but you absolutely nail.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Thank you. Listen, t Bob.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I'm telling you, you got to watch La La Land
- 31:05Speaker 1: on the ground, okay, because being in an airplane, you know,
- 31:08Speaker 1: watching it at thirty thousand feet, that does strange shit
- 31:10Speaker 1: to you.
- 31:11Speaker 2: You might not cry if you watch it on the ground.
- 31:12Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying, you know, Okay, So yes, I
- 31:14Speaker 2: might not.
- 31:15Speaker 4: Like it, right, I mean, you know I would say this.
- 31:17Speaker 4: I landed with about forty minutes left in the movie.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Then I went home and I threw it on. I
- 31:23Speaker 4: got a really shitty TV in my room, right, I
- 31:25Speaker 4: bought like the display one hundred dollars television, so that's
- 31:28Speaker 4: not quality either. But I did get to watch the
- 31:32Speaker 4: ending alone, and it's, oh god, just it's it's powerful. Dude.
- 31:37Speaker 3: You like it?
- 31:38Speaker 2: You go back and finish the movie at Hope, Yeah, Yeah, yeah,
- 31:41Speaker 2: I was.
- 31:41Speaker 5: I was in it.
- 31:42Speaker 4: It's beautiful. I love musicals too, except for Wicked.
- 31:44Speaker 2: So you liked it at thirty thousand feet, you liked
- 31:46Speaker 2: it at home on television on the ground, you.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Know, in a house with a mouse in a box
- 31:52Speaker 4: with a box.
- 31:53Speaker 1: But I think I think I would like it no
- 31:55Speaker 1: matter what, if Michigan wins tonight, perhaps a brand new TV,
- 31:58Speaker 1: a nicer TV.
- 31:59Speaker 2: What do you think, Uh, if Michigan wins.
- 32:02Speaker 4: In my contract, I'm locked in for another year or
- 32:05Speaker 4: so support ship.
- 32:08Speaker 3: That's it.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I think I think whatever winnings are
- 32:11Speaker 4: garnered by Michigan winning tonight won't be relevant come next
- 32:14Speaker 4: contract negotiation. So we'll we'll have to wait and see.
- 32:18Speaker 2: On that way, Is there a barstool who knows his
- 32:20Speaker 2: job is on the line tonight, I mean there is.
- 32:23Speaker 4: There's Like so again, that guy Mutt that I was
- 32:26Speaker 4: talking about Dave this morning was like, because what's gonna
- 32:29Speaker 4: be in the sweep of him? Is a Yukon pan whatever?
- 32:31Speaker 4: And he was like, not joking, he was like, it's
- 32:33Speaker 4: in much's best interest that Michigan wins. Mike mccannie could
- 32:37Speaker 4: be like, I don't like and it wasn't. It didn't
- 32:40Speaker 4: seem like a joke. So, I mean, everybody prayers for
- 32:44Speaker 4: Mutt if if his favorite team Yukon ends up winning
- 32:48Speaker 4: the national channel what.
- 32:49Speaker 1: A place to work. You work at ESPN, you get
- 32:51Speaker 1: Disney passes for life. You work at barstool, you might
- 32:53Speaker 1: lose your job if Michigan loses.
- 32:55Speaker 3: It's like training stocks. It's the same kind of pressure, right, yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 4: You know, just to car. You know, Dave's a great boss. Though, guys,
- 33:04Speaker 4: excellent boss.
- 33:07Speaker 2: We weren't saying otherwise.
- 33:09Speaker 4: I want nothing different. I think it's the best place
- 33:12Speaker 4: to work in the entire world.
- 33:13Speaker 2: I mean, the steaks are very high this evening.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Man, Jesus Christ.
- 33:17Speaker 1: All right, t Bob, get out of here. Glad you're
- 33:20Speaker 1: you're home. Glad you look ten, Glad you're healthy. Glad
- 33:23Speaker 1: you got through it. I know it sounds weird to
- 33:25Speaker 1: say you got through vacation, but you got through it.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Man, I'm sorry. I have one last question about your
- 33:30Speaker 3: vacation tea Bob. Are you somebody who recruits helped to
- 33:32Speaker 3: get sunscreen on your back? Are you one of those
- 33:34Speaker 3: people that just has a random map on their back
- 33:37Speaker 3: of red and white.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Great question, that's a great question.
- 33:40Speaker 4: So my wife will she will help me out the
- 33:44Speaker 4: suns on the back. That said, with enough flexibility, like
- 33:48Speaker 4: with sprays nowadays, you can get it done your something
- 33:52Speaker 4: if you have to. I had a different problem with
- 33:54Speaker 4: my back where I got my back waxed for the
- 33:56Speaker 4: first time, probably like six months ago now almost four
- 34:00Speaker 4: months ago, and it caused me, I look like I'm
- 34:05Speaker 4: on fucking steroids. Guys on my backwards like a thirteen
- 34:08Speaker 4: year old. It is so like, I don't know what happened.
- 34:12Speaker 4: It's it's half a year later and I have like
- 34:15Speaker 4: back me everywhere, and it made me so self fucking
- 34:18Speaker 4: it may be so self conscious to the points where
- 34:20Speaker 4: I'm putting fake band aids on my back to hide
- 34:23Speaker 4: the most offending uh, you know, the biggest offenders, Like
- 34:26Speaker 4: like I did. It's all I could think about. It's terrible.
- 34:29Speaker 4: I gotta get to dermataass and figure it out. If
- 34:31Speaker 4: you're listening to this, you know anything that can help me.
- 34:34Speaker 4: I'm thinking, like maybe if they get a backscratcher for
- 34:36Speaker 4: my shower, I use antibacterial soap. What the problem is?
- 34:39Speaker 4: I'm trying.
- 34:40Speaker 3: No, Yeah, definitely what the backwaxing. If you didn't have
- 34:43Speaker 3: that issue before, but next time it happens, just start
- 34:45Speaker 3: having random fits of rage and people are just like, oh,
- 34:48Speaker 3: that guy's on roids.
- 34:48Speaker 2: He's all right. Yeah, OK.
- 34:51Speaker 4: We get because like yeah, it's like it's like I
- 34:52Speaker 4: have the downsides of steroids, but without me, like super Jack,
- 34:57Speaker 4: you're not even getting like cut up or anything.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I just got the back. People gonna be like, I
- 35:00Speaker 3: must be really strong on the inside.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Wake up, balls are fine.
- 35:06Speaker 1: It's all that matters, man, Wake up barstool. Check him
- 35:10Speaker 1: out right there, t Bob. We love him again. Glad
- 35:13Speaker 1: you're home from vacation. Glad you had a good time.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Glad you survived it.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Bud, Love you boys. Everybody have a great day.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Guys later later,
