It was very quick work. I think we were less than 20

times we've seen a first boss drop in a raid.

And then they went from that into splits.

And then we saw a couple of guilds trying Chimeris, which we

had talked about before, how that might be something that

guilds would do. And what a colossal waste of

time that would be if if they did so without getting actual

gear and getting ready to go. And it turned out to be a

colossal waste of time for those guilds.

They've been doing splits, split splits for the last day and a

half. There is some rumor that Liquid

I feel like they removed a lot of the complexity of mechanics.

mechanics in the raid are incredibly easy to deal with.

hyperbole. You can RP walk and avoid the

marching enemies at the Imperator aversion intermission.

You can literally RP walk to safety.

You have 12 seconds to deal with the mechanics on Nexus King

Saladar. So yeah, we've seen some of the

complexity or some of the difficulty removed in the

general mechanics we're dealing with.

But for tanks, I think tanks are struggling the most with this

new world we live in where it's kind of impossible to see your

code. Tanks debuffs and tracking and

knowing when to taunt swap when you don't have an add on that

says taunt when it's time has become more difficult and maybe

some tanks are being exposed a little.

How do you feel about tanks being the highest deaths in the

in the raid right now? And do you think they just need

to get good or is this a design flaw in Blizzard for the way

of tanks are being exposed. Part part of it is that the

I think, especially when you're dealing with like the Dragons,

they those those mechanics are putting tanks on on the spot.

There are some fights that are that are causing a little bit

more stress for tanks. It's just it's just a more

engaging raid in for tanks. Even if you want to say that the

mechanics are simpler for the raid in general.

So is that because of like the the fact that it's not a add on

world anymore? I'm not, I'm not sure you'd have

to speak to a designer about that, about like which mechanics

were affected in what way because they felt that they were

safer doing this way. But but I'm willing to wage your

rougher tank time this time part of that.

So we did like what we called a soft blind, which basically

meant that like we weren't going to go watch a video together.

But if teammates had watched the race world first and wanted to

tell us what we needed to do, they were allowed to.

And I think that's kind of we we all we started watching videos

by the Dragons because it was just not working.

So I, I was feeling as somebody who's only like kind of off

tanked raid, when the tanks were describing the mechanics to each

other, it did seem like they weren't at the very least on par
20:50
with the complexity of usual tank mechanics, if not more
20:54
complex than usual. With the fact that, like Danny

was saying, there isn't really just something just saying, hey,
20:59
taunt, taunt, taunt. It did seem like the difficulty

for tanks went up pretty significantly.

We do also have a new tank, which, you know, I'm sure that's

also making it difficult to, you know, you're learning a lot on
21:14
the fly. I am also a little curious,

Sean, we probably talked about this a little bit, but I know

the DPS got really streamlined in terms of like what they had

to do. I at the very least really don't
21:26
feel like Vengeance got significantly.

And I, I think I, I mentioned on the last show, one reason that

one thing that's pushing me away from Vengeance is that Vengeance
21:34
rotation is more complex than habits at this point.

And I'm curious, is that just Vengeance specific or is it part

of universally? Tanks didn't get hit by the
21:43
simplification the way the DPS did.

Tanks as far as their damage rotation went, most tanks didn't
21:49
have that really affected blood. Death Night is kind of in this
21:52
weird existence where it's both awesome and miserable all at the
21:56
same time. A lot of issues with it.

Consumption for example just doesn't hit large enemies, but

that's only been a bug since Legion so that's sure to get
22:04
fixed soon. But yeah, so the most tanks

weren't really affecting that way.

What they did have done was they had defensives pruned back on

them for some of them. So it's possible that people are
22:17
not properly planning to overlay defensives for abilities.

The the biggest culprit in the raid right now has been the
22:23
light blinded Vanguard fight, which has a tank top mechanic

there. There's two out of the three
22:28
enemies that are tanked. They will cast a judgment on you
22:32
and then immediately following that judgment will do a heavy
22:35
attack. So they'll judge you and then
22:36
shield to the righteous, for example.
22:38
And the way the tank mechanic works is, let's say you and I
22:41
were tanking them elect you had General Bellamy, she judges you.
22:44
I need to taunt her in the middle of that judgment cast so
22:48
that her shield of the righteous hits me where I am not marked
22:51
with her judgement and doesn't do as much damage and I survive
22:54
it as opposed to hitting you. But at that same time as you're
22:57
sending a defensive there to be sure my I'm tanking Venal, Venal
23:02
is judging me. But they don't happen at the
23:04
issue is it doesn't happen at the same time.

So Bellamy starts her judgement cast and finishes it and before
23:10
Venal starts his judgement cast. So there is a two second period
23:15
where one tank is holding both enemies.

And it's it's very ingrained in tanks that when we swap, we

swap. So I'm taunting off you and your

instinct if you've tanked for a long time is going to be, oh, I

need to taunt off Sean. But if you taunt that early,
23:28
then you're going to get the judgement and the follow up
23:30
attack, which will kill you, which is what's happening to a

lot of tanks in the light Blight Vanguard.

Doesn't help that the models are hard to see and everything in

that fight is gold, so that combination is happening.

Now there are some ways that tanks can mitigate that.

Bellamy's casts are blue. So if you're using bigwigs or

I'm going to assume I'm actually I'm not going to assume the base

does it because the base doesn't show the barrier cast on

not part of the base Blizzard timer functionality.
