This is it for until what March, I guess, of next year. So the season went by like that. Like it feels like it went by pretty quick. So here we are. We got the last race. And guess what? It's Pelow season still. It's never it's never left. So but yeah, how are you guys feeling? @Indy_bet: get paid. Have you gotten so let's really quick 'cause we're probably not good to do this. You know @Indy_bet: in February. f1capper: you know, I now that I'm thinking about it, I remember I was like, I think Pato was set at under was it one or one and a half was this over under, wasn't it, at the beginning of the season? iN8Rodgers: I don't remember him having a line but @Indy_bet: I didn't bet anything on Pada, so I don't know. f1capper: I I'd swear I remember seeing a pata when I gotta look back. I swear it was one and a half and I think I was like, ooh, you should take the under. And I think it like juiced. And he won two in a row at Milwaukee. So I'm glad I did not take that one and I avoided that. iN8Rodgers: I don't know. I feel like if that if that was there, you guys know I would have taken that. @Indy_bet: Pillow was four and a half. Did he go over? Did Pillow go over four and five? f1capper: That was me. I know I was shilling something with p under on pato, that's for sure. So I @Indy_bet: Did Pillow go over his four and a half? I don't even know. iN8Rodgers: Yeah, Pillow went over about a month ago. Yeah. f1capper: yeah, yeah, yeah. He c he cleared. He cleared, man. Yeah, he cleared. That was easy. That's easy money. Easy money. But @Indy_bet: Remember that that might have been a better bet than the championship odds, but either way. All right. So everybody's got to tune back in. f1capper: we we were sitting pretty, you know, with our futures. We're just, you know, packing lining our pockets with some some green here already. Not even the week is is begun for Laguna Seca. But yeah, let's let's talk about Laguna Seca. it is a little different. It's I guess it's back to the season finale. I think last year they kind of like shoved it in four races before the season finale. So here we are, Luguna Seiko, we're back. Traditional trek at Monterey. very iconic corkscrew. So yeah, I'll hand it to to Nate to give his preview. iN8Rodgers: Yeah, I personally don't love it as the season finale. Yeah, I love it on the calendar and I think it looks really cool on TV, kinda in the what's in the mountains in the like the middle of a desert-ish place. But it looks like no one's there and I do think the attendance can be a little low there, but it's a cool track to watch. It's it has its place in the calendar for sure. It's a two point two four mile eleven turn road course. there's a long history here, but in recent history IndyCar returned in two thousand nineteen, so just six races. this is a three-stopper pretty much. Anybody who's tried the four stopper in the last couple years hasn't managed to finish better than like thirteenth or fourteenth. And yeah, you have that core screw, the famous corkscrew at turn eight, which is a crazy six-story drop and just four hundred and fifty feet of racetrack. so there's nothing like that on the calendar. you got your good passing zones and the Andretti hairpin at turn two, and then that run all the way from turn two to turn five and turn six is where you're gonna see the rest of your passing. there's not that the track is interesting because that all that sand and dirt on the side of the track leaves little room for air. So if you just drop one tire off, that could ruin your race. Or even if you just get offline where there's, you know, maybe someone's gone off and brought that dirt back onto the track, that could ruin your race as well of just getting dirty tires. This has been Pelows. place really. he he's won three times his other two races he's been here. He's finished second and third. So he's never been off the podium here. and then Colton Herda has two other wins and and Scott Dixon has that sixth win. So that leads to us to six Honda wins to Chevy Zero. and I I kinda put in the preview that I think that more is so how good Pillow and Herda are here than it is just a straight like Honda dominance even though you would just generally give Honda the edge of the road course. the you know, the first three races at Laguna had just one caution in all three of those and then they repaved in twenty twenty two and then we had eight cautions, five cautions, and five cautions. So it went from a super low caution race to now it's been one of the larger ones on the calendar. You don't even see five cautions at some ovals we run at. the Pulse Sitter has won four out of six times and then there were in sandwich in between those there was the two eleventh place finishes. And yeah I mean that's that's kind of where I'm I'm starting is with with political I think I've already got one bet down on him to win and I that might be my only outright of the day. It's just a even money, but I put a unit on it and that's where I started and kind of an easy choice there for me. f1capper: Yeah, I mean hard hard to ignore @Indy_bet: I'll give you fun fun fact. f1capper: that. @Indy_bet: Yeah, right. This is gonna be short pod. Move on. But fun fact, you see the picture behind me. That is the the corkscrew, right? That is the nineteen f1capper: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. @Indy_bet: ninety-five Grand Prix of Miami photo. In nineteen ninety-five Indy car used the corkscrew photo for almost every single race just because it looked cool. You could get three cars on it. So that is Grand Prix of Miami, but all the Grand Prix got the picture from some from this track. There you go. That's all I can offer. I'm done. Just stop it. And I think we've finally jumped off that train for this weekend especially, but no one is brought up Obviously a Penske, no one has brought up even Kirkwood. No one's brought up, you know, Erickson or any Andretti. So it's like it almost kind of scares me. I'm like, wait, we're all on the same page here. That's for an outright, that's kinda that's like the first time this year we're other than like maybe New Garden where we felt like we're all on the same page. So yeah, I mean, Palo. @Indy_bet: Yeah, I mean look if you wanna play advocate, the dude just won the championship. It's not like well, I mean, you could say he doesn't even care now, he doesn't have to protect the car, he just goes out f1capper: He still cares. I you know what? I will tell you this. I will tell you this. When it comes to driving the car in a race, I s I don't care what series it is, drivers do care. They still want to try to win. I don't care what anyone says. It doesn't matter. Put me in the car. No one just drives it like I just am gonna casually drive. Maybe there's little things they do differently. They maybe not take too many risks in a certain way, but they do still care. And I think he d and I think someone might might have mentioned that, not in the Discord. And I was like, no, no, no, no, no. They still care. They still want to win. These are race car drivers. These are these are alphas, man. They wanna, they wanna try to beat the other guy and say, I flexed on you, kind of thing. So but like let's go back to the odds. Even money, it sounds like that's where the market's at with it. Pillow is at even money. You're probably not gonna find it any better. Maybe minus 120. You could probably s find that and it'll still be, you know, maybe somewhere offshores or something like that. But if you're not going to pick Pillow, it sounds like everyone's on the same page about Lungard, right? Or is unless there's another driver. Like, is there anyone else that you're like, hey, you know what? Maybe this one pre weekend, of course. @Indy_bet: I mean Potto's got good history here. I mean iN8Rodgers: Yeah, I mean I think back sorry, go ahead, Mike. @Indy_bet: you know, but for some reason he hasn't set like well while Lungard what they should do is Lungard took Potto's setup for this oval last week and did great all of a sudden. Potto should just suck it up and take Lungard's setup on the road courses and learn how to drive that 'cause his setup has been crap on these road and street courses. Maybe maybe he does that. but he's got history here. yeah, I think the r the only other way to play this stuff is is, you know, you might we can kinda talk through prediction market stuff and and snag top fives and top tens on with good lines on prediction markets. There are some drivers with good history here. I don't mind the top ten market for the Penske cars. Malukas has been steady. McLaughlin should be able to put in the top ten. you're you're gonna cringe when I say this, but I actually don't mind Grosjon top ten. He has decent history at this track. f1capper: Yeah, @Indy_bet: I don't know, is Grosjon locked up for next year contract, or is he driving for a job? I'm not f1capper: I don't know. @Indy_bet: sure. f1capper: I don't know. I thought it was just a year. iN8Rodgers: No, that's the rumors just between him and Hauger to come back. So it's sounds like one of them will come back, one of them will. @Indy_bet: so he might be driving for a job, or this is a job interview. It's a good it seemed to be a good track for him. If you recall, he gave Hurta a run for his money a couple of years ago, and then I think they crashed out spectacularly in Groshen style, but he's got good finishes at this track. I think he's got a couple T Tens or better. So I'm not talking like podium or top five or win market. I'm just talking like, you know, crashes in the top ten. He you can get I I think I just saw two and a half to one. So iN8Rodgers: Yeah, n I mean just going I think the McLaren overall is a really strong team. Even Rossi and a McLaren car got on the podium here, I believe. So I mean that's that's kind of just a wild thing to kinda show the strength that they've had here. And just I mean, back on Paddo, h he does have a really good history here and he does have that road course win here, straight up head to head where he he you know, he beat Lungard, you know, just one one v one. and he started second at the indie road course 'til he got blasted at in turn one. So I don't think his year has been as bad on road course. courses as the the stats may look. I think there's someone like Power who's really brought good good just road course stuff to Andretti. I mean they've really improved and Powers had good history here, so like yeah, Lungard, award, power would be the next kind of three guys I'm looking at, but when you show me their odds, okay, Lungard three to one, Pado at seven to one, or I'm sure you can get power at like fifteen or twenty-one. I'm still just not like tempted enough at those to I just say like yeah. I'm interested but I I'm I'm rolling back to below on those. f1capper: Yeah. I definitely will be keeping an open mind about it this weekend. And yeah, it's kinda hard to ignore the like you just said earlier. I mean, drivers that enjoy this place, sometimes it's it's not about the machine, it's about like the just the drivers know how to maximize every corner and know how to do it the right way. Because this is a technical track. It's It's actually one where when I jump on the sim I I say I like it, but I actually am I kinda hate it at times because it it can eat you. It can eat you in certain corners if you just don't get the apex right. It's like it's it's kinda tricky. It could be very tricky. So @Indy_bet: this track on a sim on a sim rig, except for turn one, but otherwise love this pla love this track. f1capper: I don't know. I think it's turn three for me and then I actually don't mind the corkscrew. I I don't mind the corkscrew anymore. It's but just in general, like you can lose a lot of time if you just if you just barely get your tire off track, right? Like then you got guys right behind you that are gonna just take overtake. There's a there's overtaking opportunities here, right? So you gotta be very careful. play the strategy right. So yeah. iN8Rodgers: Yeah, to add to that I just watched the kind of qualifying highlights back and the race highlights and some people would be up on a lap like two tenths. Some of the people were at like Kirkwood I think at one point was up like eight tenths. And some of them would lose that whole lap by not even dropping a tire, but just kinda like what you're saying. They just got the turn a little wrong and it just completely ate up their time. And it it was kind of interesting to watch that back and see how many people would be heavily up, you know, not on the borderline and then just completely fall away by the end of the lap. f1capper: Yeah, you can easily just just ruin that gap very quick. That's why it's I I always say it's a it's it's a technical intense track. It's fun, but you're in for a long one. You know, you you gotta be you're always on your toes. So it's it's but speaking of Kirkwood, I don't like him here at all. So I haven't seen any head to heads yet against him except for one. Which I just looked at DK and I was like, Ooh, and we're talking about him. Pato over Kirkwood. @Indy_bet: yeah. Sign me up. I I'm look you said DJ, I'm pulling it up now. I've been looking for a matchup for it. Yeah. f1capper: Okay. I I just I just I was I was like, you know what, I gotta start surfing to see what what what we got. And yeah, I I get minus one five to Kirkwood. I think that that's where my mind gravitates to. I have some interests in I don't know. I don't know what to think of Felix this weekend. I really should be confident. I've been kind of bullish on this guy. And it's funny, I jumped off the train last week. I was like, no, I think Erickson's gonna get him. I and he ended up getting him by I guess luck. But Felix was actually doing pretty good at Milwaukee. But I think the last road course I was kind of concerned and especially at it was DC. So and the one previous to that, like I just he just wasn't there at Markham. But I think he gets it back here. And I I don't know if he's got the right machine, but it's against VK. That's what scares me too. But minus one iN8Rodgers: Yeah. f1capper: twenty five. iN8Rodgers: Actually that's my only other play I have is Rosenquist over VK. I I think he has a really solid qualifying history here. It it could be a little up and down here, but this year he's been really solid qualifying and while VK has gone to the fast six in his last two road courses, I think that team is kinda just riding a high that it it's a it can't last forever. You know, I I think VK is incredible, but I don't think Junko's Hollinger is all of sudden this like top four team or anything. And so I f1capper: Mm-hmm. iN8Rodgers: just think that the the VK stock is a little high right now. I'm gonna fade that slightly and and look for Rosenquist to kind of bounce back to end his Meyer Shank career. f1capper: Yeah, see I I that right there, I love that angle w what you just called out too. It's like it's priced you know what, and you're on it, so I'm I'm on it. I'm gonna phone that in. iN8Rodgers: See it. f1capper: So and @Indy_bet: I thought about VK for my one and done pick, trying to sneak my way back into the money here and I looked at his track history and it's just pitiful. I think it's all in the twenties. it was a it was an immediate X iN8Rodgers: Yeah, that's another good point. @Indy_bet: on my party. I I do acknowledge, yeah, he's had some solid races, but he just doesn't seem to be somebody who has this track under his under his belt. So yeah, I would be off the V VK train this week and See happens with him later. f1capper: Yeah, well I've talked myself into taking Felix into top ten on Cal she 'cause I was eyeing that and I I kinda yeah, iN8Rodgers: I saw that, yeah. Near even money. f1capper: and I was like, you know, it just felt right. I mean again it's just just I don't I don't wanna dock Felix so much from a few unique situations that he's had, but like I yeah, I'm gonna take that top ten out of even money and I just did so but yes, I love that. I'm glad that you have they just took down Felix. no. They sh they're shifting things around, I guess. I I'm gonna take that Feli I'm gonna phone that Felix over VK. Love that play now that we talked it through. And then yeah, Pato over Kirkwit. I just don't wanna What do we think of Erickson this weekend anyways? iN8Rodgers: It's it's kinda the same thing with VK where I don't I don't think he's all the way back. Like I think it's been really f1capper: Yeah. iN8Rodgers: impressive what he's doing. I think he's improved, but with Andretti not being as great here overall, I I just think his stock's a little too high and I'm just kinda neutral. f1capper: Yeah, but but would you take Newgarden over him? That's where I'm trying to get to. iN8Rodgers: I mean n I Newgarden d was in the fast six here last year and he's had some good history here. I don't I don't I'm not gonna bet on Newgarden, but I'm just I I can't believe Newgarden keeps finishing these road courses top ten with one foot. I mean if you look at his stats this year, he keeps finishing like eighth and seventh and it makes him a hard fade. f1capper: I I wanna do it. I wanna do it, but I just I can't do p I can't I just hate backing Penske. @Indy_bet: We're gonna I've written down I I gotta go before we get to next year. Like I'm I'm a long term Andretti known hater when it comes to wagers and betting and and honestly this year well I got you know, I was on Erickson. I you know, so and it you have to acknowledge that Andretti has s sort of Taking a leap forward, I'm gonna have to dive in a little bit more to see how I feel coming into next season to see if they can take the leap. Or we're gonna be sitting here having the same conversation we had however many months ago is like, is Penske back? Are we back on Penske? Well, they weren't. It's been a total mess. so is you know, is Andretti a tier one team now? I don't know. I I f I wonder I wanna see what the data says. It seems like they've made some strides. I don't know if that's credit to power or the credit to other, you know, whatever the people they've brought in on the team. But yeah, I think what's I'm not ready to bet those guys on road courses just yet, but it's something to look at for next year. f1capper: Yeah, I I will yeah. I don't I'm I'm curious to see how next year is gonna go and then this is la that's the last year until the the new design, new car comes out in twenty twenty eight. So that will be a nice fun reset. We'll see. We'll see. That'll be f I I I always embrace those when they completely drastically change the cars. It's just it's kind of nice because the market doesn't know because we're all kind of in the dark for a little bit and understanding like where really is is the value and you've you do have some good opportunities. It can bite you, but for the most part, it's worked out, at least for the Apex insiders. Like they we've been pretty good at it. adapting to new regulations and new all sorts of things. So I'm kinda looking forward to it. But I I'm looking around. I don't see any other odds other than Caesar just had outrights iN8Rodgers: The score had I guess y I don't know that you can look at that, but they have the top three, top five f1capper: Yeah, I can look at it. iN8Rodgers: menu but and a couple matchups which I think just matched what DK had up. f1capper: Okay, so it's the same thing. iN8Rodgers: Yep, but f1capper: Same prices too? iN8Rodgers: yeah. Maluca's in power at minus one fifteen each, Pado and Kirkwood at minus one fifteen each, so I'm not sure what the other ones sit at now, but f1capper: no, it's actually DK has still pretty good value then on Pado. It's minus one five. I've been looking @Indy_bet: TK. f1capper: I've been staring at that that Malucas matchup. I I I kinda wanna do it, but I don't. @Indy_bet: Who's that with? Malucas v versus two? f1capper: with power. I I it's not worth my time to force it now, but my mind leans it. That's it. So @Indy_bet: Yeah. I mean look I think so like you know, like you said, instead of forcing things right now, like go go bet Plow, put you know, put it with your favorite college football f1capper: No, I Palo, I'm just gonna find Pelow and take him even and if he if @Indy_bet: Yeah. And then f1capper: he qualifies P four then we'll go from there. So probably back him again. @Indy_bet: Yeah, I mean maybe s if you watch practice, what is it, Saturday? We got practice, we might get odds. is there a Friday practice too, I think maybe? But like we'll have w I know I remember f1capper: Yeah, let me pull the schedule. @Indy_bet: looking, we have some time, odds will get put up before qualifications. Like, sure, if somebody is showing pullish, we'll call it pace in practice and they're sitting somewhere in the double digits, ten ten to one over, you know, like a a power or say this a McLaughlin. Somebody like that is showing a ton of pace, fine. I I I'll co sign on a a bet on at double digits only for f1capper: Yes, so @Indy_bet: before calls against Pelot if if you see somebody with pace and the books haven't adjusted lines. But otherwise, yeah, you you've heard us give you the plan. f1capper: We get it's actually not a lot of time between practice two into qualifying, but it's three hours. But yeah, you know, like we'll s we'll see. We'll take it as we go. the only other thing is is of course what we were kind of talking about before we recorded was Calci. Calci is always on. It's that's what I also love about it, is that's where you can kind of react to what's happening, like kind of to your point in Indie Bet, like you just want to be able to say, like, have that up. As you're swatching practices, you know, you kind of have this idea, so you start seeing it and qualifying. Like you can take on opportunities. be careful on on the bids and the asks that you might be placing. But yeah, I think that's a good opportunity. But yeah, a lot of the strategy but with with us in Calci is just you gotta be you gotta be a sniper, you gotta be there quick because you're fighting with all of us, basically. and the Discord. Because we're all on Calci or some type of predictions market, but a lot of us are on Calci too. So I it's funny, we're always we're always all fighting for like that line. So I get jealous, especially @Indy_bet: Yeah, you gotta be quick. We talked about this, like and like look, we post our I'll try to post things and try to put things on Twitter, but I'm making the bet before I post anything. I'm not posting it and then going to make the bet. It doesn't work that way. So like I feel I feel f1capper: Wow. No, I I learned my lesson on that. @Indy_bet: like making those bets because I might get a big number that then within a flash, nobody else is getting it, especially f1capper: No @Indy_bet: the live market. you know, just can't do those I can't be, you know, two people at once. So like the bet's getting made and then it's It's gone and it happens quick. fastest lap happens quick. Like they they literally told you who the fastest lap was in the broadcast and it was available at like fifteen to one and then it was gone. You know, like and I you got it. You f1capper: Yeah. @Indy_bet: had about five minutes. I got you know, it was two races ago. It was power I think. and yeah, it disappears. So like yeah, you it's hard to tell people about these things. It's it show up in the Discord and but like, you know, watch and learn and and watch the race and And do you know but those markets are great. You can make money in those markets. f1capper: Man, if I can get another opportunity at saying no to fastest lap, I will keep taking those because anything at minus two thirty or something like that, taking it. Especially like it's hard to to get a fastest lap. I mean, no one I it's especially w on an Indy car @Indy_bet: Yeah, now that we have that we should we should go look a fun little I haven't done this, but I'd like to know who actually had the fastest lap for each race this year. yeah, I'm sure we can figure all that out. I'm just saying like we should go do it. I bet the names are f1capper: So you can see that. I think I pulled that up. I yeah. I think when when I did the when I did the Pillow one, I I looked it up and I think he only had two this year. I think it was like Detroit and one other and I was like, Well and then there's multiple different drivers throughout that. @Indy_bet: Yeah, like random names, right? Guys that I mean, I you know, you get the f1capper: Yeah. @Indy_bet: fastest lap on you know, some guy's running a fuel strategy and he he does like a short stint, he's got no fuel in the tank so the car's light and he's doing quality laps. f1capper: But y it is it it is a good exercise to look historically to show so you can see like the percentage of people actually hitting i in a season or even across like four years, five years, you can you can see that delta of like there's not a lot of people, so your odds are actually in your favor when you get like a minus two thirty. You may not hit it one time, it will be luck. But if you keep striking at it at minus two hundred, you're gonna you're gonna be fine. Trust me. You'll be fine with it, especially in IndyCar. So I I love that that they're offering that. I just hope they offer more. and then iN8Rodgers: Yeah, I mean my f1capper: the fastest the biggest movers who win this butt's fun. iN8Rodgers: Yeah, I for the biggest mover I I mean I'm kinda will let people in on the g which I didn't end up winning by one spot, but I just you know, while I'm watching qualifying, I'm seeing the best driver who doesn't make it, you know, into the next round of qualifying and I bet them. I see that watch the next round and I just bet them. So I got some good numbers on people. It it didn't work out in the end, but and I understand if you know, if people get frustrated that, you know, we post these these things and they they've moved quickly and it's not there anymore. But I will say they do s kind of seem to come back around. Not all of them, you know, if it's an ab absolutely crazy line, but If it's like a top ten or something it it'll roll back around eventually, you know, maybe not right away, but get pretty close to that number. So yeah, I just think it's kinda the direction of of betting that we kinda have to go to, especially with limits and all that stuff and avoiding that. So you know, if if anything it's just our way to kinda d display who we like and the strategies of it all and and people could play off of that. f1capper: Yeah, definitely, definitely. Well, I don't have anything else. you guys have anything? Man. @Indy_bet: No, last thing, nay, what was the beer count in Milwaukee with a rain delay? f1capper: Yeah. iN8Rodgers: I I I @Indy_bet: Over under case. iN8Rodgers: man, I I just I just checked my credit card statement that I was using and that that that was insane. So f1capper: That was a mistake right there. @Indy_bet: Was the track was it nice? Was iN8Rodgers: Yeah, @Indy_bet: it all like good good track? Fun fun time? Recommend go? iN8Rodgers: Yeah, I mean I I love watching that the racing there, especially on the starts and restarts and seeing people like VK or Kirkwood when they would take off and and get pe like ten people at a time, you know, you can really catch that or there was one point late I I race two, race one, I don't know anymore, but but Lucas was able to pick kinda late in the race when everyone else was on older tires and he just looked like he had the I think they actually did maybe post him with the star in Mario Kart and on the video online, so it made perfect sense 'cause it was good.
