- 0:14Speaker 3: of public service stuff.

- 0:26Speaker 5: What's up, America.
- 0:27Speaker 4: I am Rich Valdes Valdesz with an s at, Rich
- 0:30Speaker 4: Valdez on all of the social media. Welcome to the
- 0:33Speaker 4: Friday night edition of the program. We are live and national.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Happy to be with you. It is a blessing to
- 0:39Speaker 4: be with everybody that's here. Check me out at Rich
- 0:41Speaker 4: Valdest dot com. That's Valdest with an s at, Richvaldees
- 0:44Speaker 4: again on all of the social media. And I want
- 0:47Speaker 4: to get into a couple of different things. Of course,
- 0:49Speaker 4: I want to keep it straight with you, Ran because
- 0:51Speaker 4: I like to be a straight shooting modiqua brother from
- 0:54Speaker 4: the Big Apple. But there's a lot to discuss, a
- 0:57Speaker 4: lot to unpack. So we're gonna keep it real, We're
- 0:59Speaker 4: gonna keep it fun, We're gonna keep the faith strong.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Here from Mourca.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Right, So I'm gonna go strap in because this is
- 1:05Speaker 4: about to get really really interesting now Friday, December fifth,
- 1:10Speaker 4: twenty twenty five.
- 1:10Speaker 5: Lots of headlines. I'm looking at a few of them.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Washington Times, New York Post, the Aggregator, my favorite aggregator
- 1:17Speaker 4: of the Mongino Report. If these headlines are any clue
- 1:20Speaker 4: of how we're wrapping up the week, you're gonna need
- 1:22Speaker 4: either to grab your confescito or a cold one, like
- 1:25Speaker 4: my dad would say, Una freya, because you know judgment here.
- 1:28Speaker 5: But we're gonna jump into this with both feet.
- 1:30Speaker 4: First up, we've got people beating up like usual on
- 1:33Speaker 4: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of War, and of
- 1:37Speaker 4: course he's slamming the Biden administration, saying they were asleep
- 1:41Speaker 4: at the wheel, while crediting l trumpitos and all this.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Magnus the forty fifth president of these United States now
- 1:46Speaker 4: the forty seventh as well, for restoring order in the military.
- 1:51Speaker 4: And you know what, that's music to my years. I
- 1:54Speaker 4: think it's music to all of our years. And over
- 1:56Speaker 4: in the Washington Times, Heigseeth is continuing to defend the
- 2:01Speaker 4: drug boat strikes as he should, Right, if you're putting
- 2:06Speaker 4: a strike on someone that you've warned and said, hey, look,
- 2:09Speaker 4: if you're in international warders and you're headed towards the
- 2:11Speaker 4: United States and we catch you and we have the
- 2:13Speaker 4: intel that says you're bringing drugs into our country, we're
- 2:16Speaker 4: going to kill you. Pretty clear, right. Trump made that
- 2:18Speaker 4: very clear. And yet there's still people saying, I even
- 2:22Speaker 4: they shot the boat, they didn't let them most survivors. Well,
- 2:26Speaker 4: I think that's the point. That's how the military operates.
- 2:29Speaker 4: So no sympathy from me on this one anyway. President
- 2:32Speaker 4: Trump's team is celebrating wins like Indiana redistricting map, as
- 2:37Speaker 4: well as big wins that he's had in recent days. Now, Listen,
- 2:42Speaker 4: there's some things that you win on and some things
- 2:46Speaker 4: that you take an l on. And I gotta say,
- 2:49Speaker 4: it's been a lot of wins for President Trump lately.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Right.
- 2:52Speaker 4: They try to make it look like it's a series
- 2:54Speaker 4: of losses. But when you look at the border, when
- 2:56Speaker 4: you look at the fraud that's being uncovered in Minnesota, right,
- 3:00Speaker 4: it started out close to a billion dollars. Now they're
- 3:02Speaker 4: saying it might be up to eight billion dollars in
- 3:05Speaker 4: fraud with Somalians saying that they have Somalian immigrants saying
- 3:11Speaker 4: that they have children with autism, but these children were
- 3:14Speaker 4: never diagnosed with autism, and millions and millions of dollars
- 3:18Speaker 4: going to these autism centers. So you know, just imahina
- 3:22Speaker 4: thing right, Just really imagine this. Imagine giving all this
- 3:25Speaker 4: money to something that may not even exist, that isn't
- 3:29Speaker 4: even proven to exist. I mean most of us couldn't
- 3:31Speaker 4: even do that in a marriage, right. I used to
- 3:33Speaker 4: be married once. Imagine if I told my wife, well,
- 3:35Speaker 4: I'm going to be spending money on something I think
- 3:37Speaker 4: is happening.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Right, I bought new tires from my truck. Why were
- 3:41Speaker 5: they bald? No?
- 3:42Speaker 4: No, but I figured I might need some. Maybe it
- 3:46Speaker 4: just doesn't work that way, right, In real life, there
- 3:49Speaker 4: are consequences to one's actions, and I think that's pretty crazy.
- 3:52Speaker 4: So we're going to see that continue to unfold. What
- 3:55Speaker 4: else do we have here? There was another one here
- 3:57Speaker 4: about an interesting story here? Oh Joe Biden. Joe Biden
- 4:02Speaker 4: is back at it again, glitching. This time he made
- 4:06Speaker 4: a speech and he called it the United States of
- 4:09Speaker 4: America got it.
- 4:10Speaker 3: We just have to get out as long as we
- 4:13Speaker 3: keep the faith. Someone hope we get back up and
- 4:16Speaker 3: remember who in the hell we are. We're the United
- 4:18Speaker 3: States of America, got it. That's who we are for
- 4:21Speaker 3: the US. And there's nothing I mean America, got it?
- 4:28Speaker 4: Come on, man, Joe and Baboso Biden strikes again. And
- 4:33Speaker 4: I mean listen, even Maya Wela spanglish was smoother than that, right,
- 4:36Speaker 4: even Joe Biden's spanglish, right, And when she said the
- 4:40Speaker 4: bogadas and she was trying to say bole guys, see
- 4:43Speaker 4: say Podway, Oh man, I wish I had those clips available.
- 4:46Speaker 5: They're so funny.
- 4:48Speaker 2: So say it with me, see say wad Way.
- 4:52Speaker 4: The future is ours?
- 4:54Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Anyway, this is America, got it.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Joe Biden is back and and obviously is you know,
- 5:01Speaker 4: trying to defend the position of his former administration. While
- 5:06Speaker 4: there's all sorts of people uncovering the Obamacare subsidies, saying
- 5:11Speaker 4: they're full of fraud, large scale systemic failures, talking about
- 5:14Speaker 4: a mess that people would rather forget, and especially in Minneapolis,
- 5:19Speaker 4: like we talked about the other day, the police chief
- 5:21Speaker 4: warning police officers that they'll get fired if they mess
- 5:24Speaker 4: around with any ice agents. This is an interesting thing, right,
- 5:28Speaker 4: They're not supposed to help ice agents, right, so this
- 5:30Speaker 4: is like if you do anything, you're going to be
- 5:32Speaker 4: in trouble. The guy's name is may Or Frey. I
- 5:34Speaker 4: think it's Fry, but it's spelled fr e Y, and
- 5:37Speaker 4: I like to mispronounced things. So anyway, now, in the
- 5:39Speaker 4: latest video you've probably seen on social media, he's chowing
- 5:42Speaker 4: down on Somali food. And let me tell you, I
- 5:44Speaker 4: went to a Somali and restaurant. I actually really enjoyed it.
- 5:47Speaker 4: It was in Washington, d C. I went the inauguration
- 5:49Speaker 4: weekend and really good stuff. They had these this beef
- 5:54Speaker 4: that was really really good. It was like almost like
- 5:56Speaker 4: Korean barbecues, similar type of flavor. Anyway, shifting to the
- 6:03Speaker 4: political bignada, I want to talk about the United States
- 6:08Speaker 4: and what else is happening in America because there's a
- 6:14Speaker 4: bunch of stories. One of the interesting ones that I
- 6:16Speaker 4: saw was more like a video Steven A.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Smith, right, the sportscaster.
- 6:21Speaker 4: He was on the view Whoopy Goldwerg, take two, Whoopy Goldberg,
- 6:26Speaker 4: Joy behar Alyssa far or the rest of the ladies
- 6:29Speaker 4: on the view, you know, put him in the hot seat.
- 6:32Speaker 4: I think he held his own. He did a really
- 6:33Speaker 4: good job. I got a clip of that. We're going
- 6:34Speaker 4: to play on the other side. But that was really
- 6:37Speaker 4: humorous and interesting, I think, to say the least, a
- 6:40Speaker 4: pretty good clip for a Friday. And there was one
- 6:43Speaker 4: more thing I wanted to bring up here. Let me
- 6:45Speaker 4: see there was Oh Cinnebun employeed is a funny one.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Cinnabun employee got fired after hurling slurs at a Somali couple.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Now this is not so nice, but listen, times, you know,
- 7:00Speaker 4: New Yorkers can get rude. And she wasn't a New
- 7:02Speaker 4: Yorker per se, But you know, I've been exposed to
- 7:04Speaker 4: rude people before. Sometimes I'm actually the rude people. Anyway,
- 7:08Speaker 4: we have to rise above the hate, right and this
- 7:12Speaker 4: this is an interesting thing. Here does another one? Let
- 7:16Speaker 4: me see where did it go? Ah man?
- 7:19Speaker 5: That one escaped me.
- 7:20Speaker 4: There was a story about a news anchor, a very
- 7:23Speaker 4: curvy woman who was getting trolled by haters, and it
- 7:28Speaker 4: was pretty pretty funny. Anyway, let me see, is there
- 7:32Speaker 4: any more? Some Hollywood stuff that I'll get to a
- 7:35Speaker 4: little bit later. Sidney Sweeney, Bethany Frankel, some stuff from
- 7:39Speaker 4: the New York Post. Oh, and Dick Van Dyke is
- 7:42Speaker 4: about to turn a hundred. He gives some advice on
- 7:45Speaker 4: why and how he made it to this big, you know,
- 7:48Speaker 4: centennial celebration of his life. And to me, I thought,
- 7:52Speaker 4: why aren't we talking about how many more people are
- 7:55Speaker 4: reaching one hundred?
- 7:56Speaker 5: Right?
- 7:56Speaker 4: Because my buddy, one of my buddies I went to
- 7:58Speaker 4: high school with, which I tend to see five or
- 8:01Speaker 4: six guys that I went to high school with.
- 8:02Speaker 5: We kind of always hang out a couple of times
- 8:05Speaker 5: a month.
- 8:06Speaker 4: And I just had lunch with them the other day,
- 8:10Speaker 4: and he had just come back from the Dominican Republic
- 8:13Speaker 4: where he was celebrating his grandmother's one hundredth birthday. And
- 8:17Speaker 4: I remember meeting her back in high school, so and
- 8:20Speaker 4: she was probably late seventies then, so very very cool
- 8:25Speaker 4: to see a lot of these I think they're called
- 8:28Speaker 4: centagenarians and their achievement of reaching one hundred years what's
- 8:34Speaker 4: going on there? I know there's a lot of people
- 8:36Speaker 4: out in conspiracy land that would like to think it's
- 8:38Speaker 4: cyborgs and this and that. I think it's more like
- 8:40Speaker 4: people going to the doctor more often and keeping their
- 8:43Speaker 4: blood pressure low and eating right and you know, having
- 8:45Speaker 4: a good life, good life, good lifestyle. Voila, you live
- 8:48Speaker 4: a little longer anyway more to come straight ahead. I
- 8:51Speaker 4: got another story that I'm going to get into, but
- 8:54Speaker 4: I'll keep that one from my hip pocket just in case.
- 8:56Speaker 4: You know, I don't like to put too much out
- 8:57Speaker 4: there because then I promise it and I can't deliver
- 9:00Speaker 4: the get long winded, so don't go anywhere.
- 9:01Speaker 5: It's Richald Desbert coming right back.
- 9:04Speaker 2: This is a maria. This is a maria.
- 9:28Speaker 6: So you recently accused Senator Mark Kelly, a veteran an astronaut,
- 9:34Speaker 6: of crossing the line for participating in a video reminding
- 9:38Speaker 6: troops that they can refuse to follow illegal orders. Let's
- 9:42Speaker 6: see some of what you said.
- 9:43Speaker 3: My friends.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Sure you know better, Senator Kelly, you know better? How
- 9:48Speaker 5: dare you do that? You could go to the house.
- 9:51Speaker 5: You could put a drawer of paperwork. You could try
- 9:53Speaker 5: to start articles of impeacement if you think there's something illegal.
- 9:57Speaker 5: I mean, damn it ain't like y'all haven't done it before.
- 10:00Speaker 1: You had peace to man twice were that ditch got us.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Behind back in the White House, had to left them alone.
- 10:08Speaker 5: In twenty since twenty twenty.
- 10:09Speaker 7: Maybe you wouldn't be back.
- 10:10Speaker 4: You don't tell military men and women to ignore an
- 10:14Speaker 4: order from the commander in chief.
- 10:17Speaker 8: You don't do.
- 10:18Speaker 2: That that funds him next.
- 10:20Speaker 4: You know, let me just I just want to jump
- 10:24Speaker 4: in here for a second again. Welcome back on hegoes
- 10:26Speaker 4: Rich Valdez with you. And this is Stevid A Smith,
- 10:30Speaker 4: legendary sportscaster who has a political podcast. He launched a
- 10:34Speaker 4: couple of years ago, and he actually came on my
- 10:35Speaker 4: show when he when he launched a podcast to talk
- 10:37Speaker 4: about it. It's called straight Shooter and he talks about
- 10:41Speaker 4: new politics and is a day kind of similar to
- 10:42Speaker 4: White Dude, but it's always a hot take because you know,
- 10:44Speaker 4: he's a he's a hot take kind of guy. And
- 10:47Speaker 4: he's on on the View. You know, I think it's
- 10:50Speaker 4: five on one, right, Whoopy Goldberg and Joy Behar and
- 10:56Speaker 4: Alissa Fara and Sunny Houston and the other girl, I
- 10:58Speaker 4: forget who she is, the blonde one. This, you know,
- 11:01Speaker 4: is supposed to be a five on one.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Ear.
- 11:04Speaker 4: You know, they're trying to tear him the shreds, but listen,
- 11:06Speaker 4: I think he holds his own despite the taunting from
- 11:09Speaker 4: the view listen to this.
- 11:10Speaker 6: I knew that Pete Hegsath said in twenty sixteen. I
- 11:15Speaker 6: do think there have to be consequences for abject war crimes.
- 11:20Speaker 8: If you're doing.
- 11:21Speaker 6: Something that is just completely unlawful and ruthless, then there
- 11:23Speaker 6: is a consequence for that. That's why the military said
- 11:26Speaker 6: it won't follow unlawful orders from their commander in chief. Now,
- 11:30Speaker 6: given the fact that the Secretary himself said that, I'd
- 11:34Speaker 6: love to give you the opportunity to perhaps change your
- 11:37Speaker 6: position on.
- 11:38Speaker 5: What you said, I'm not changing the thing.
- 11:40Speaker 6: You want to stay loud and wrong.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Well you could call it loud and wrong.
- 11:43Speaker 8: Oh, you want it.
- 11:43Speaker 5: You're entitled to your opinion. I'm entitled to my oker
- 11:46Speaker 5: o Ker. Now listen. Steven A. Smith.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I always appreciate that I don't always agree with him,
- 11:51Speaker 4: and I don't live my life that way, right, I
- 11:53Speaker 4: don't necessarily only agree with the people that I am
- 11:56Speaker 4: a sick offan of right, It's not like that for me.
- 11:59Speaker 4: You know, there's people that I'm a big fan of
- 12:01Speaker 4: and I think they're wrong sometimes too.
- 12:03Speaker 5: I like Stephen A. Smith.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I'm not really a sports guy, so I can't really
- 12:07Speaker 4: say I like him for that. I like him for
- 12:08Speaker 4: just giving his opinions and being a straight shooter. I
- 12:11Speaker 4: thought he did a good job here holding his own
- 12:13Speaker 4: And there's other clips of him on the view, and
- 12:15Speaker 4: I might get to a couple more in a little bit,
- 12:17Speaker 4: but I thought it was interesting because he's condemning Senator
- 12:20Speaker 4: Mark Kelly's comments regarding what is now being called the
- 12:25Speaker 4: Seditious Six right, and those are those six members of
- 12:29Speaker 4: Congress that were former military or former intelligence people, saying
- 12:33Speaker 4: that you should never obey an unlawful order. And of
- 12:37Speaker 4: course it's kind of like a catch twenty two. It's right,
- 12:39Speaker 4: it's coming out there and saying, listen, you should never
- 12:42Speaker 4: break the law, telling somebody the obvious, restating the obvious.
- 12:46Speaker 4: This is clearly what they're doing, but they do it
- 12:49Speaker 4: for the sake of controversy. They're doing it for the
- 12:51Speaker 4: sake of saying, look, we know that they're trying to
- 12:53Speaker 4: cast this.
- 12:54Speaker 5: I guess what's the word I want to use here, shade.
- 12:58Speaker 4: They're throwing some shade on beat though, trying to make
- 13:00Speaker 4: it look like he's being shady, like he's doing something illegal.
- 13:04Speaker 4: So it's kind of like, listen, listen, you don't have
- 13:06Speaker 4: to follow the unlawful order, kind of insinuating he's asking
- 13:09Speaker 4: for unlawful things to be done. Then they go ahead
- 13:11Speaker 4: and in their official capacity they go ahead and say, oh,
- 13:14Speaker 4: another drug boat. You shouldn't do that. You're you in
- 13:16Speaker 4: a laterally doing that. And I think, like I said
- 13:18Speaker 4: yesterday or the day before, Jadie Vance JD Vance, he
- 13:22Speaker 4: made it very clear that America's used this authority to
- 13:25Speaker 4: defend itself and to preemptively strike and to do what
- 13:28Speaker 4: They've done it a million times and nobody's ever had
- 13:31Speaker 4: a problem with it up until now that Trump is
- 13:33Speaker 4: doing it to stop drugs, And it makes you think,
- 13:36Speaker 4: who's on who's payroll?
- 13:37Speaker 7: Here?
- 13:38Speaker 4: Are these people working for we the people? Are they
- 13:39Speaker 4: working for the cartels? That's what I want to know.
- 13:42Speaker 5: Anyway.
- 13:43Speaker 4: During the Friday episode earlier with Sonny Houston bringing up
- 13:49Speaker 4: the controversy, here, Smith says, like you heard, I'm I'm
- 13:53Speaker 4: not going back on my word. If you want to
- 13:56Speaker 4: call it loud or wrong, go right ahead. This is
- 13:59Speaker 4: I think the type of dialogue we need, right I
- 14:02Speaker 4: wish they had more of Steven A.
- 14:03Speaker 5: Smith on there. Wish they got me on there.
- 14:05Speaker 4: They one times at one time they had Matt Gates
- 14:08Speaker 4: on there, and I thought that was a pretty good
- 14:09Speaker 4: one because I think Ben Shapiro was on there once.
- 14:12Speaker 4: You want to invite people that don't always agree with you.
- 14:15Speaker 4: When I invite people on my show, I try to
- 14:18Speaker 4: invite everybody. You know.
- 14:19Speaker 5: I've invited Bernie Sanders on my show.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Guess what, surprise, surprise, he didn't come. I invited who else? AOC,
- 14:27Speaker 4: my least favorite congressman from the Bronx and Queens, all
- 14:31Speaker 4: out crazy herself Alexandria oh Casio test also never As
- 14:35Speaker 4: matter of fact, I tried approaching AOC. I saw her
- 14:37Speaker 4: at the Puerto Rican Parade. She was marching not far
- 14:40Speaker 4: from where I was marching in the parade, and I
- 14:42Speaker 4: walked over to introduce myself. One of her aides kind
- 14:46Speaker 4: of like body checked me, and she literally did the
- 14:49Speaker 4: dip cut and run literally like jogged away from me
- 14:52Speaker 4: on Fifth Avenue. If you don't believe me, check it
- 14:54Speaker 4: out New York Post. There's a whole story that they
- 14:57Speaker 4: did on that because somebody quote it on camera. The
- 14:59Speaker 4: bottom line is, you only can do so much to
- 15:02Speaker 4: get somebody to come on the show with you. To
- 15:03Speaker 4: have a conversation to talk about capitalism versus socialism, or
- 15:07Speaker 4: to talk about whatever the news of the day is.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Some people don't want to come on the show. Some
- 15:12Speaker 4: people don't want to defend their ideas. Some people just
- 15:14Speaker 4: want to broadcast their ideas and they don't want to
- 15:17Speaker 4: necessarily have a conversation about those ideas. And that's I
- 15:21Speaker 4: think what we have here.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:23Speaker 4: So, you know, in many ways, you have to give
- 15:27Speaker 4: mad Many, right, the new mayor of New York City,
- 15:31Speaker 4: Mayor Elect Mamdani, some credit for showing up and meeting
- 15:34Speaker 4: with El Trompito in the White House, because I think
- 15:38Speaker 4: many others reject those opportunities to try and get things done.
- 15:43Speaker 4: So I have to say, you know, whether I agree
- 15:45Speaker 4: with them or not, whether I called him, you know,
- 15:47Speaker 4: the puppet to President Trump's ventriloquism while he was in
- 15:51Speaker 4: the in the Oval office, I'm glad he was there.
- 15:56Speaker 5: And I think we need more of that.
- 15:57Speaker 4: I think we need more of the the olive branch
- 16:01Speaker 4: to the other side. Right, we don't have to agree
- 16:03Speaker 4: with them, but we don't have to hate them either. Right,
- 16:05Speaker 4: we can hate your ideas without hating you. I believe,
- 16:07Speaker 4: I believe that wholeheartedly. I've always believed that, and now
- 16:10Speaker 4: it just brings me up quick aside, my buddy T. W. Shennon,
- 16:13Speaker 4: he was the Speaker of the House in the state
- 16:16Speaker 4: of Oklahoma, and he's a colleague over at Newsmax TV,
- 16:21Speaker 4: and he posted a picture where he was riding the
- 16:25Speaker 4: train with Donna Brazil, the former chair of the RNC.
- 16:29Speaker 4: I thought to myself, that's good, and I hope he
- 16:31Speaker 4: doesn't get a lot of hate on that, and I
- 16:33Speaker 4: don't think he did from the comments. I saw very
- 16:35Speaker 4: good to see that people can have different views, different
- 16:38Speaker 4: TV networks, different positions on things politically, and still say, hey,
- 16:43Speaker 4: how are you nice to meet you, you know whatever,
- 16:45Speaker 4: and be cordial with one another without you know, getting
- 16:47Speaker 4: in somebody's face and shouting them down, and you know,
- 16:50Speaker 4: calling the Antifa thugs and the people wearing the black
- 16:53Speaker 4: masks and just Buck Wilder like that. You know, we
- 16:55Speaker 4: don't need to be crazy. We can have dialogue amongst
- 17:01Speaker 4: our differences. Anyway, That's my belief. Maybe I'm wrong right.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Sometimes I get hot too.
- 17:08Speaker 5: I get it.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Like Senator Mark Kelly, he's always hot under the car.
- 17:12Speaker 4: This guy's always freaking out clutching his pearls. Anyway, there
- 17:17Speaker 4: was another story about this Ice ice pro or anti
- 17:22Speaker 4: ice congresswoman who just got sworn in recently, Rep. Grijalba,
- 17:30Speaker 4: and she got sprayed in the face with pepper spray.
- 17:33Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure on purpose, just so that she could
- 17:35Speaker 4: you know, have cred being like the pro ice people
- 17:37Speaker 4: or Ice themselves, you know, sprayed me in the face
- 17:40Speaker 4: to arrest me, and blah blah blah. This is how
- 17:42Speaker 4: the Democrats behave. I mean, if I wish I was
- 17:45Speaker 4: sitting here going and today Republican Congressman so and so
- 17:49Speaker 4: got sprayed in the face with pepper spray. The reason
- 17:53Speaker 4: it doesn't happen to Republicans is because they don't get
- 17:55Speaker 4: in the face of law enforcement trying to be crazy.
- 17:59Speaker 4: That's how it works, right, most people, and it's not
- 18:02Speaker 4: just Republics most people. Most people. If the cops say,
- 18:05Speaker 4: are do my favorite step back, most people go, oh,
- 18:07Speaker 4: excuse me, officer, let me step back.
- 18:09Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Some people have a chip on their shoulder like me
- 18:12Speaker 4: saying hey, hey, hey, I don't want the government telling
- 18:14Speaker 4: me to do listen, I know my rights, right, And
- 18:16Speaker 4: then you got people have two chips on their shoulders
- 18:17Speaker 4: that want to get in the cops face and fight them.
- 18:19Speaker 4: I got nothing against law enforcement. I do have always
- 18:22Speaker 4: something against the government telling me what to do, so
- 18:24Speaker 4: I get it. I might have a chip on my shoulder,
- 18:26Speaker 4: but bottom line is, I'm not trying to get maced
- 18:29Speaker 4: in my face and for the sake of getting on
- 18:32Speaker 4: camera and saying that I got sprayed and blah blah blah.
- 18:35Speaker 4: And sadly, that's what I think is happening too often
- 18:39Speaker 4: in our society. People trying to you know, do it
- 18:42Speaker 4: for the cloud, do it for the plot, and it
- 18:44Speaker 4: just you know, nobody leta.
- 18:46Speaker 5: It's not worth it. Just isn't worth.
- 18:48Speaker 4: It, all right them, He goes, anyway, keep it locked
- 18:50Speaker 4: right here. We're going to continue the conversation. I got
- 18:52Speaker 4: some audio I want to play for you. There's a
- 18:53Speaker 4: few things I've been wanting to get to for a
- 18:55Speaker 4: couple of days with respect to just I mean a
- 18:59Speaker 4: lot of things. We got the news of Michael Dell
- 19:01Speaker 4: from a couple of days ago. I never played that
- 19:03Speaker 4: audio for you. Michael Dell from Dell Computer joining with
- 19:07Speaker 4: President Trump to give a homeless twenty five million kids
- 19:11Speaker 4: a Trump account. That's one of those savings accounts that
- 19:14Speaker 4: you know they can start now and they'll have when
- 19:17Speaker 4: they retire. I think this is a fantastic thing that
- 19:20Speaker 4: this guy's doing. He's giving a lot of money to
- 19:22Speaker 4: a lot of people, and he said he's going to
- 19:24Speaker 4: get some other people involved as well. We'll talk about that.
- 19:28Speaker 4: We also have let me see what else. I have
- 19:30Speaker 4: a few things here that I wanted to get to.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Oh.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I wanted to talk about speaking of Zara Mandani Young
- 19:35Speaker 4: Me Park. You may or may not have heard the
- 19:38Speaker 4: interview that I did with her. She had written a book,
- 19:41Speaker 4: Excuse Me, and she escaped North Korea and she did
- 19:47Speaker 4: it by way of China, and on the way she
- 19:49Speaker 4: was raped, and it's a harrowing story of what she's
- 19:52Speaker 4: done to come to America. But Young Me Park was
- 19:57Speaker 4: speaking about Zori Mundani and really giving her two cents
- 20:00Speaker 4: on it, and it's moving. It's very moving to hear
- 20:02Speaker 4: it coming from somebody who understands socialism firsthand. So we'll
- 20:08Speaker 4: get to that as well. Plus FBI Director Cash Bettel
- 20:11Speaker 4: announcing a pedophile ring that is in their sights. We're
- 20:14Speaker 4: going to talk about the seven sixty four pedophile ring.
- 20:17Speaker 4: That's I'm glad that FBI's honing in on that stuff,
- 20:21Speaker 4: and it sucks that it's happening, but I'm glad that
- 20:23Speaker 4: we got the right people on the job. So all
- 20:25Speaker 4: of that and so much more straight ahead, don't go anywhere.
- 20:27Speaker 4: I'm Rich Valdez.
- 20:29Speaker 2: This is America. This is America.
- 20:34Speaker 5: The forty fifth President Donald Trump thinks it's an honor
- 20:37Speaker 5: to speak with Rich Valdez. Oh, very good, bugg and honor, thanks, Rich.
- 20:44Speaker 5: The honor is all yours. Conservative talk with a dash
- 20:49Speaker 5: of sofrito. Now here's Rich Valdez.
- 20:53Speaker 4: All right, I mean he goes, welcome back, Rich Valdez,
- 20:56Speaker 4: keeping your company. And I want to get into this
- 20:58Speaker 4: clip that I mentioned out yon me Park because I
- 21:02Speaker 4: thought she was absolutely terrific and something that she said
- 21:07Speaker 4: really grabbed my attention. It was a couple of days ago,
- 21:12Speaker 4: but man, what was it worth listening to check this out?
- 21:15Speaker 7: They come and make these tweet three promises of paradise
- 21:19Speaker 7: like that's how North Korean regime began. The Kingneerstone came
- 21:23Speaker 7: to my grandmothers and said, look at the capitalists, they
- 21:26Speaker 7: are so rich, and look at the peasants. Their children
- 21:29Speaker 7: can't even get educated, and they cannot even be treated
- 21:32Speaker 7: in the hospital. How about I create a society where
- 21:36Speaker 7: everybody gets a free society, free education, free health care,
- 21:40Speaker 7: free housing, free food, and then we get rid of inequality,
- 21:44Speaker 7: because this is evil And why would you not want that?
- 21:47Speaker 7: It sounds so fantastic. Why everybody lived life with dignity,
- 21:52Speaker 7: nobody suffers from poor health, and people wanted that. So
- 21:56Speaker 7: my grandmothers gave up their private property, they gave a
- 22:00Speaker 7: freedom of speech, they gave a freedom of movement, they
- 22:03Speaker 7: gave up all their rights to live in this paradise.
- 22:09Speaker 7: But we know that when government took all the rights
- 22:11Speaker 7: away from people, they did not create a paradise. They
- 22:15Speaker 7: created the biggest constitution camp in human history. The whole
- 22:18Speaker 7: country became a constitution camp. Nobody is allowed to leave
- 22:23Speaker 7: North Korea, nobody allowed to enter even right now. Right
- 22:27Speaker 7: so Mandani exactly promised saying things that cameos of promise
- 22:31Speaker 7: to my grandmother generation, saying it's evil. There are billionaires
- 22:36Speaker 7: and there are people who are poor canting for the rent.
- 22:39Speaker 7: Why don't I come in and make or like free
- 22:42Speaker 7: for you guys. And nothing is free in the world,
- 22:46Speaker 7: Nothing is free, and this entirement generation. The young people
- 22:51Speaker 7: that I see in you, who are so unbelievably entire,
- 22:54Speaker 7: they some think they deserve free buses, and like, why
- 22:58Speaker 7: do you need to get that free? So we have
- 23:01Speaker 7: a shruge issue because American education system have failed teaching
- 23:06Speaker 7: its people about tyranny.
- 23:09Speaker 4: The price you pay for socialism is your liberty. Listen,
- 23:14Speaker 4: I'm not looking to give up any liberty for the
- 23:17Speaker 4: only country on the planet that has as much of
- 23:19Speaker 4: it as we do. And I know as soon as
- 23:20Speaker 4: I say that, somebody wants to start talking about Denmark
- 23:24Speaker 4: or you know, any one of these other places where
- 23:27Speaker 4: there's a whole lot of things happening, but they don't
- 23:29Speaker 4: have a constitution that protects their free speech, which is
- 23:31Speaker 4: really what I'm talking about. I have a microphone tattooed
- 23:35Speaker 4: on my forearm because I believe in this is and
- 23:39Speaker 4: right next to it is the statue of Liberty in
- 23:40Speaker 4: the American flag. And the reason I have that is
- 23:43Speaker 4: it's a reminder of myself every day that, you know what,
- 23:46Speaker 4: this country had an idea behind it, an idea where
- 23:51Speaker 4: we the people, the common people, the farmers, the whomever's right, everybody,
- 23:56Speaker 4: the common man makes up the government. We elect people
- 24:00Speaker 4: to represent us in the government. Now, clearly it's gone awry, right,
- 24:05Speaker 4: I think we could use that word where we don't
- 24:09Speaker 4: conduct our business the way we're supposed to. But if
- 24:13Speaker 4: you've ever raised children, or have you ever run a home,
- 24:15Speaker 4: or you've ever run a business, there may have been
- 24:18Speaker 4: a time in your trajectory as a business owner, parent
- 24:22Speaker 4: employee where things didn't go the way you intended. They
- 24:26Speaker 4: were supposed to go left, but they went right, or
- 24:28Speaker 4: they were supposed to go right but they went wrong.
- 24:31Speaker 4: And listen, what do you do. Do you just keep
- 24:33Speaker 4: doing it wrong or do you try and correct course?
- 24:37Speaker 4: Now easier said than done when it comes to Washington,
- 24:39Speaker 4: because in Washington it's massive. You've got people that are
- 24:46Speaker 4: multi generational in this business. People are having their kids,
- 24:50Speaker 4: they're grooming their kids. Look at gold bar Bob, right,
- 24:54Speaker 4: gold Bar Bob was the mayor of Union City, New Jersey,
- 24:57Speaker 4: became a state assemblyman, then he was mayor of Union City,
- 25:01Speaker 4: ran for Congress, became the congressman for the thirteenth district,
- 25:05Speaker 4: became a Senator, and guess who the Congressman for the
- 25:09Speaker 4: thirteenth district is today? Now the gold bar Bob is
- 25:13Speaker 4: in jail. It's his son, Rob Menendez. And I'm not
- 25:18Speaker 4: taking anything away. I'm not trying to say that Rob
- 25:21Speaker 4: Menandez is not qualified for the job or anything like that.
- 25:24Speaker 5: I don't know him. But what I am saying.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Is that you see a multi generational approach to how
- 25:33Speaker 4: people involve themselves in politics. I'm not saying that's bad either.
- 25:40Speaker 4: What I'm saying is that it's a thing. And when
- 25:43Speaker 4: you know it's a thing, it's because people can grossly
- 25:46Speaker 4: enrich themselves and they figured out this is our family business.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Our family business is in some cases defrauding the public
- 25:57Speaker 4: or lying to the public while defrauding the corrupt. Right,
- 26:02Speaker 4: if the allegations that were proven to be true, or
- 26:04Speaker 4: at least where he was found guilty of gold bar Bob,
- 26:07Speaker 4: Senator Bob Menendez of accepting cash or gold bar gifts
- 26:14Speaker 4: in exchange for different things while he was on the
- 26:19Speaker 4: Foreign Affairs Committee as the head of it, then this
- 26:24Speaker 4: is indicative of a problem that exists, right, and this
- 26:29Speaker 4: problem that existed it back in the days they called
- 26:31Speaker 4: it ambutus ambi t us, back in the days of
- 26:35Speaker 4: the Roman Empire. But what it is is political corruption.
- 26:41Speaker 4: And some years ago I did a whole half hour
- 26:44Speaker 4: show on that. It was really a really good couple
- 26:46Speaker 4: of segments on ambutus and how political corruption is as
- 26:50Speaker 4: old as politics itself. And I get that if you've
- 26:54Speaker 4: ever read a Bible, sin is an evil or as
- 26:58Speaker 4: old as humanity, because that's just how it works. But
- 27:02Speaker 4: what young me Park is talking about saying that Mamdani's
- 27:06Speaker 4: promising free buses and this, that and the third this
- 27:09Speaker 4: is all true, right, It's true that we can't just
- 27:12Speaker 4: go around giving up our liberty in order to in
- 27:18Speaker 4: order to have a free bus ride. And this is
- 27:22Speaker 4: why I think he's going to meet a lot of opposition.
- 27:25Speaker 4: And you're going to see opposition coming from the state
- 27:27Speaker 4: of New York right right from the governor, because I
- 27:30Speaker 4: think she's going to be the first one to say
- 27:33Speaker 4: no thank you, no thank you, and no thank you.
- 27:36Speaker 5: So I think I have a clip on that listen
- 27:38Speaker 5: to this.
- 27:39Speaker 8: Do you agree with Mamdani that Benjamin at Yahoo should
- 27:43Speaker 8: be arrested it becomes.
- 27:44Speaker 5: New York No, I do know it.
- 27:46Speaker 4: And the New York City mayor does not have the
- 27:48Speaker 4: power to do that. He doesn't have the power to
- 27:50Speaker 4: arrest that in Yahoo. He doesn't have the power to
- 27:53Speaker 4: make free buses. There's a lot of things he doesn't
- 27:55Speaker 4: have the power to do. But this is just another
- 27:57Speaker 4: example of how politics, especially when you're a pro crime
- 28:02Speaker 4: progressive like Mamdani, you're trying to change people's minds.
- 28:07Speaker 9: Right.
- 28:07Speaker 4: He's not just here to make the change today. He's
- 28:10Speaker 4: trying to usher in a whole new way of doing
- 28:12Speaker 4: things so that the old guard, the old system is gone,
- 28:16Speaker 4: so that the rich people will fund everything. Eventually there
- 28:20Speaker 4: will be no rich people. We saw this in Cuba,
- 28:22Speaker 4: We've seen it in Venezuela. Just take a Cuban who
- 28:25Speaker 4: grew up in Cuba, who used to go to Lajallana
- 28:27Speaker 4: when they were little or younger, when it was beautiful,
- 28:30Speaker 4: and bring them to like San Juan, Puerto Rico, which
- 28:32Speaker 4: looks a lot like Lahavana with the cobblestone streets, but
- 28:35Speaker 4: the architectures gorgeous in San Juan, and the buildings are
- 28:39Speaker 4: dilapidated and falling apart in La Havana.
- 28:42Speaker 5: And it's that simple. I've seen it a million times.
- 28:45Speaker 4: They cry, They just they start weeping, saying, wow, you know,
- 28:48Speaker 4: my country used to look like this before Castro, right
- 28:50Speaker 4: back when there were families like Bacardi, Fami Leacrdi. They
- 28:54Speaker 4: made rum in Cuba and they had to leave. Why
- 28:57Speaker 4: to keep their money, to keep their company so that
- 29:00Speaker 4: it wouldn't take it, and they fled to Puerto Rico.
- 29:02Speaker 4: God bless them. Listen, this is not for the week.
- 29:05Speaker 4: It's only the strong that survived when it comes to
- 29:08Speaker 4: socialism and communism, conflating the two, because there was an
- 29:12Speaker 4: actual revolution in Cuba. But when it comes to these policies,
- 29:15Speaker 4: it's all the same, right, And I know some people
- 29:17Speaker 4: try to make excuses or try to say, hey, look
- 29:20Speaker 4: it's not so bad.
- 29:21Speaker 5: That's fine.
- 29:21Speaker 4: If you want to have that position, that's okay, you
- 29:23Speaker 4: can have that position. I'm not going to have that position.
- 29:26Speaker 4: I've spoken to too many people, and I agree with
- 29:27Speaker 4: the ones I've spoken to, and listen, I've spoken to
- 29:29Speaker 4: ones that don't agree with me, Like my friend who
- 29:32Speaker 4: left Lahavana on a jet ski to Key West, Florida,
- 29:35Speaker 4: and he's the first one to tell me he's not
- 29:38Speaker 4: a big supporter of Trump or at all. He never
- 29:40Speaker 4: trashes America. He actually only trashes the socialists. He only
- 29:45Speaker 4: trashes the Communists and an Unlike many of his brethren,
- 29:50Speaker 4: he doesn't think that we're headed towards socialism. He doesn't
- 29:53Speaker 4: think we're heading off the cliff. He doesn't think that
- 29:55Speaker 4: Mamdani or Bernie Sanders or.
- 29:59Speaker 5: AOC are Fidel Castro light.
- 30:04Speaker 4: But he does think that Maluro and his predecessor, Ugo Chavez,
- 30:08Speaker 4: these guys are the devil incarnate. Now, I don't know
- 30:12Speaker 4: if it's just him sipping the kool aid in the
- 30:15Speaker 4: media where he just wants to hate Trump because he
- 30:17Speaker 4: was told to. He's a fairly intelligent guy, but he's
- 30:20Speaker 4: led by emotion on some of the issues. And I'm
- 30:22Speaker 4: gonna keep working on him. It's been a few years, though,
- 30:25Speaker 4: and my point is he's not alone. And that's why
- 30:28Speaker 4: we do what we do. We come out here, we
- 30:30Speaker 4: talk about what we talk about. I'm not here to
- 30:32Speaker 4: convince everybody. I'm just here to share a couple of
- 30:34Speaker 4: stories with you, hopefully entertain you and inform you along
- 30:37Speaker 4: the way and give you a perspective mine. If you
- 30:42Speaker 4: like it great, you want to add to it, hit
- 30:45Speaker 4: me up, send me a message on one of the
- 30:48Speaker 4: social media's tag me in one of the comments, and
- 30:51Speaker 4: I will see it and I will read it on
- 30:52Speaker 4: the air.
- 30:53Speaker 5: Happy to do that.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Plus, I think I've mentioned this already, but we are
- 30:57Speaker 4: going to be expanding to two hours this coming week,
- 31:00Speaker 4: this Monday, and we'll start that with you know, bringing
- 31:05Speaker 4: in a couple of key interviews. There's a few people
- 31:08Speaker 4: that I like to check in with often because they're
- 31:10Speaker 4: they're plugged in, like former generals and former CIA people
- 31:14Speaker 4: and people that are you know, in the mix, in
- 31:16Speaker 4: the know that can give me the scoop. So thankfully,
- 31:18Speaker 4: in my years in talk radio and you're doing television work,
- 31:22Speaker 4: I've gotten to meet some people in the green room
- 31:24Speaker 4: or some people that you know through my travels, and
- 31:28Speaker 4: they give me this scoop sometimes and sometimes they're willing
- 31:30Speaker 4: to come on air and talk about it. I'm happy
- 31:32Speaker 4: about that, and I want to bring you know that
- 31:34Speaker 4: to the table as well, so that we can have
- 31:36Speaker 4: a more robust, rounded out conversation.
- 31:39Speaker 5: But something else I want to bring to the table
- 31:41Speaker 5: is the.
- 31:42Speaker 4: Ability for you all to continue calling into the show,
- 31:45Speaker 4: and we're going to do that as well. But happy
- 31:47Speaker 4: to integrate that because it was something I've always loved
- 31:50Speaker 4: to do. I love speaking with the callers I love
- 31:52Speaker 4: to believe it or not having regulars, which you know
- 31:54Speaker 4: is kind of taboo right in the radio world. They
- 31:57Speaker 4: always encourage have different callers, trying not to make it
- 31:59Speaker 4: the same. But for me, it was kind of like Cheers.
- 32:02Speaker 4: You know, Cheers was a hit because the TV show
- 32:04Speaker 4: Cheers about the bar because it was the same cast
- 32:07Speaker 4: of characters, and I loved that cast of characters. It
- 32:09Speaker 4: was great when Norm would walk in and it'd say Norm,
- 32:13Speaker 4: you know, in Unison, and everybody knew what was going
- 32:16Speaker 4: on when Woody was about to make a joke. And
- 32:20Speaker 4: Rea Pearlman, and just a few staple characters like the
- 32:23Speaker 4: ones that used to call into the show. And hopefully
- 32:26Speaker 4: we can put that gang back together and have them
- 32:29Speaker 4: call the show and join us and you know, come
- 32:32Speaker 4: on board this late night conversation that we're having here
- 32:35Speaker 4: as well as you. So once that functionality is ready
- 32:38Speaker 4: to go and we've tested it and it's working right,
- 32:41Speaker 4: I will roll out that number. That's probably going to
- 32:42Speaker 4: be about another three and a half weeks or so,
- 32:44Speaker 4: but just putting it out there back of your mind anyway,
- 32:47Speaker 4: keep it locked right here.
- 32:49Speaker 5: We're going to continue.
- 32:49Speaker 4: I want to go into a couple of softer stories
- 32:52Speaker 4: as we head into the weekend. Hopefully everybody has a
- 32:55Speaker 4: lot of fun things to do. And I'll be right back.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Don't go anywhere America.
- 33:04Speaker 2: This is America podcast.
- 33:06Speaker 5: Now, Richiev You're on the air with a Nation is America.
- 33:10Speaker 2: With Rich Valdez.
- 33:11Speaker 4: We need to restore balance, download and subscribe.
- 33:19Speaker 1: This is America or Primo numeros Bara rich veld is
- 33:28Speaker 1: e s O s America.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Alwona all right, and he goes, welcome back. Is Rich
- 33:34Speaker 4: valdezk keeping your company here? Friday, Friday night, and I
- 33:38Speaker 4: want to get into a couple of things that I
- 33:41Speaker 4: wanted to talk about, and I had them in front
- 33:43Speaker 4: of me and now they're escaping me. But one of
- 33:46Speaker 4: them was this Dick Van Dyke story. A little on
- 33:50Speaker 4: the softer side of things. But it is Friday, so
- 33:52Speaker 4: I'll allow it and listen to this Dick Van Dyke.
- 33:55Speaker 5: You can let that play. I like that too. Just
- 33:57Speaker 5: keep it low, all right.
- 33:58Speaker 4: So Dick Van Dyke, the legendary comedian Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,
- 34:02Speaker 4: I mean, Mary Poppins, He's it right. I mean, there's
- 34:05Speaker 4: so many things he's done. I'm you know, not recalling everything,
- 34:10Speaker 4: but he believes that ditching these two things is why
- 34:14Speaker 4: he'll likely make it to his one hundredth birthday, which
- 34:16Speaker 4: is coming up. And we're gonna get into a little
- 34:18Speaker 4: bit more on Dick Van Dyke straight ahead, but first
- 34:21Speaker 4: I want to talk about Ira Sharp and a couple
- 34:25Speaker 4: of other patriots, heroes, veterans that are also one hundred
- 34:29Speaker 4: years old, and they got here by fighting their ass
- 34:33Speaker 4: off after Pearl Harbor. These guys survived the Pearl Harbor attack.
- 34:37Speaker 4: His daughter, I forget her first name, Heinrich. She chronicled
- 34:41Speaker 4: this in a piece on the news and it's a
- 34:43Speaker 4: really moving thing.
- 34:44Speaker 5: On a play of the clip. Check this out.
- 34:45Speaker 9: These pages have aged and they are very delic hit,
- 34:49Speaker 9: but the story they tell of service and sacrifice hasn't
- 34:53Speaker 9: changed over time.
- 34:54Speaker 8: That one, of course, is my father, Ira.
- 34:56Speaker 9: Shop that are known as Ike was a young navy man.
- 35:00Speaker 9: He was stationed aboard the USS Dobbin at Pearl Harbor
- 35:03Speaker 9: in nineteen forty one when the Japanese attacked.
- 35:08Speaker 8: Had just set down to a cup of coffee and
- 35:11Speaker 8: he heard all of it, and so goes up and
- 35:14Speaker 8: he sees the Utah Capsias.
- 35:16Speaker 9: December seventh, will Mark eighty three years since that faithful day.
- 35:20Speaker 5: A date which will live in infamy.
- 35:25Speaker 9: When over two thousand lost their lives. It's an anniversary
- 35:29Speaker 9: shop his daughter, Kimberly Heinrix and a few caregivers will
- 35:32Speaker 9: commemorate in Hawaii tribute. You know, at one hundred and
- 35:37Speaker 9: four years old, he's one of the few survivors still
- 35:39Speaker 9: alive today.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Going back there with cause people to remember the occasion.
- 35:45Speaker 9: He's made a trip to the island a few years
- 35:47Speaker 9: in a row now thanks to some generous donations through GoFundMe.
- 35:51Speaker 8: He goes out because he feels like he needs to
- 35:54Speaker 8: scan for those that camped anymore.
- 35:57Speaker 9: Heinrich says, it's always emotional knowing what her father experience
- 36:00Speaker 9: that day.
- 36:01Speaker 8: When I look at these guys who are one hundred
- 36:03Speaker 8: and four and one hundred and two, I see these guys,
- 36:10Speaker 8: you know, I see these young guys, right, they're just kids.
- 36:18Speaker 9: This weekend, she'll stand alongside many others to honor those
- 36:21Speaker 9: who didn't return home while holding close.
- 36:24Speaker 8: Dad is one hundred and four and I don't have
- 36:26Speaker 8: that much left with her.
- 36:28Speaker 9: Each precious moment with her own personal hero, her dad.
- 36:32Speaker 4: An amazing story, right talk about Dick Vandyke about to
- 36:35Speaker 4: turn a hundred.
- 36:36Speaker 5: These guys are heroes.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Irish Sharp and the rest of these guys, God bless them.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Only a dozen of these guys left. And that's just
- 36:44Speaker 4: a you know, a reality of life of how you know.
- 36:51Speaker 5: The clockworks.
- 36:52Speaker 4: But soon Pearl Harbor will have no survivors, none of
- 36:56Speaker 4: them will be alive. It's just quite amazing to me.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Today there's only twelve that are still alive, all centenarians,
- 37:06Speaker 4: and this year only one of them is able to
- 37:10Speaker 4: make it to Hawaii to mark the anniversary of the
- 37:15Speaker 4: Pro Harbor attack schedule for Sunday. And this is a
- 37:21Speaker 4: big deal, right, big significant part of American history. These
- 37:24Speaker 4: men are heroes. And Kimberly Heinrich, the woman you're hear
- 37:29Speaker 4: in the video, she's the daughter of Irish Sharp. And
- 37:33Speaker 4: I got to tell you it's just it's probably you know,
- 37:37Speaker 4: a different experience having one of those types of bets
- 37:40Speaker 4: the Greatest generation as a dad. But I've had two
- 37:45Speaker 4: or three occasions where I've interviewed people that served in
- 37:50Speaker 4: World War Two, and let me tell you, amazing, amazing
- 37:55Speaker 4: conversations that what I've learned from them was just eye
- 37:59Speaker 4: opening and most of them are chronicled and older editions
- 38:02Speaker 4: of this podcast, This is America at Rich Valdees, because
- 38:06Speaker 4: I wanted to make sure I was able to capture them.
- 38:08Speaker 4: At least one or two of those, I know I
- 38:09Speaker 4: got on audio. The other ones were just I met
- 38:13Speaker 4: them at events and we had great conversations and I
- 38:16Speaker 4: was just, you know, blow it away by what it
- 38:18Speaker 4: was like back then. You know, just a different world.
- 38:21Speaker 4: No cell phones. I don't mean to make light, but
- 38:23Speaker 4: you know, there was no cell phone, There was no Instagram,
- 38:25Speaker 4: there was no any of these things that we do today.
- 38:29Speaker 4: It was a different world, and they were giving up
- 38:31Speaker 4: their lives as young young men to defend this country.
- 38:35Speaker 4: It's really really kudos to them. Talk about turning one hundred.
- 38:39Speaker 4: He says that he gave up alcohol and smoking back
- 38:44Speaker 4: in his fifties. He says that's exactly why he's quote
- 38:48Speaker 4: still here now. His comments came when he was speaking
- 38:51Speaker 4: about working with Walt Disney, who actually died of lung
- 38:54Speaker 4: cancer back in nineteen sixty six, and he was at
- 38:57Speaker 4: a Vandy High Tea event in Malibu, California, where he lives.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Van Dyke recalled that mister Disney smoked too much. He
- 39:06Speaker 4: later corrected his son Barry Van Dyke, when Barry said
- 39:09Speaker 4: the actor didn't smoke much, which is pretty funny, he said, Oh,
- 39:13Speaker 4: I smoked a lot, actually, Dick noted, I think probably
- 39:17Speaker 4: into my fifties before it dawned on me that I
- 39:20Speaker 4: had an addictive personality. If I liked something, I was
- 39:23Speaker 4: going to overdo it. So I got rid of the
- 39:25Speaker 4: booze and cigarettes and all that stuff, which is probably
- 39:29Speaker 4: why I'm still here. The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star
- 39:31Speaker 4: had previously discussed quite candidly quitting drinking and smoking, and
- 39:36Speaker 4: back in nineteen seventy two, he checked himself into a
- 39:39Speaker 4: hospital after revealing he was dealing with alcoholism. But the
- 39:43Speaker 4: star admitted quickly stopping smoking, and he said that was
- 39:47Speaker 4: twice as hard as anything he'd done before. He said
- 39:51Speaker 4: that a couple of years ago. Man, you got to
- 39:52Speaker 4: give somebody credit for that stuff, right, I know, I
- 39:56Speaker 4: give him credit for that.
- 39:57Speaker 5: I have a friend, my buddy Chouch.
- 39:59Speaker 4: May God rests his soul, Chew Jose Perez Barber, and
- 40:03Speaker 4: he I don't think he made it past forty one,
- 40:06Speaker 4: might have been forty when he died. Cirrhosis of the liver,
- 40:10Speaker 4: just couldn't stop drinking, couldn't get a handle on it.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Went to rehab, stopped for like two years, started again,
- 40:16Speaker 4: stopped again for six months, and his last run, he
- 40:20Speaker 4: just just went in. He became a different person. He
- 40:24Speaker 4: was such a shame. And what a talented barber, what
- 40:27Speaker 4: a talented, just funny guy, excellent human being in my opinion,
- 40:31Speaker 4: like I said, didn't make it past forty. So Dick
- 40:33Speaker 4: van Dyke, you know, kudos to him for making it
- 40:36Speaker 4: this far. And he wrapped this up. He was there
- 40:38Speaker 4: with his fifty four year old wife. Should he he's
- 40:42Speaker 4: forty six years older than her. Job, Dick Van Dyke,
- 40:45Speaker 4: good job, saying it's frustrating to feel diminished in the
- 40:49Speaker 4: world physically and socially. And he said, like my old characters,
- 40:53Speaker 4: I'm now a stupor, a shuffler and a teeterer. That's
- 40:57Speaker 4: the story there. But I wanted to talk about this.
- 40:59Speaker 4: How many people are becoming one hundred right, seems like
- 41:03Speaker 4: more and more people are becoming or reaching that age
- 41:06Speaker 4: of the big one, and currently it's zero point zero
- 41:11Speaker 4: three percent of the US population. Check this out. It's
- 41:13Speaker 4: expected to quadruple by twenty fifty four. So that's in
- 41:17Speaker 4: another thirty years, right, So in thirty years we're expecting
- 41:21Speaker 4: to quadruple, to be one tenth of the population. M Wow,
- 41:28Speaker 4: I'm sorry, yeah, zero point one. Check out some numbers
- 41:31Speaker 4: here in twenty twenty four and estimated one hundred one
- 41:34Speaker 4: thousand Americans were one hundred or older. I remember reading
- 41:38Speaker 4: this before because I was looking at the Doge Committee's
- 41:41Speaker 4: numbers on how many people were getting Social Security or
- 41:44Speaker 4: at least labeled as being over one hundred, and I said, wow,
- 41:47Speaker 4: it's like a lot of people. The trend right now
- 41:51Speaker 4: is that more people are living and the people becoming
- 41:55Speaker 4: one hundred years old centenarians, they are tripling. As of
- 41:59Speaker 4: the last three decades, that number's gone up three x.
- 42:04Speaker 4: The projection will have four hundred and twenty two thousand
- 42:07Speaker 4: centenarians by the year twenty fifty four. Seventy eight percent
- 42:12Speaker 4: of those are going to be women.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Wow.
- 42:16Speaker 4: I wonder maybe that's why Dick Van Dyke's wife is
- 42:19Speaker 4: forty six years younger than him, because there's just women
- 42:23Speaker 4: that are living longer. And No, that wouldn't make sense.
- 42:26Speaker 4: That should be the other way around. I'm really curious.
- 42:29Speaker 4: I'm really curious. And I'm not only curious. I think
- 42:32Speaker 4: I'm jealous, right, I think I want to be ninety
- 42:35Speaker 4: nine years old and have a fifty four year old wife,
- 42:39Speaker 4: right or whatever? Forty six years I mean, I don't.
- 42:42Speaker 4: I just say that because you know, who doesn't want
- 42:45Speaker 4: a young attractive woman? Now, how young is a question?
- 42:48Speaker 5: Right?
- 42:48Speaker 4: So I'm forty seven and I have children that are
- 42:51Speaker 4: twenty and twenty four, and I oftentimes when i'm out,
- 42:54Speaker 4: I will see young women that are in that age
- 42:57Speaker 4: group of my children, and I could spot them a
- 42:59Speaker 4: mile away. Typically, And sometimes when I'm with my friends,
- 43:04Speaker 4: will be out waitress, bartender or whatever, and they'll, you know,
- 43:07Speaker 4: they'll be how old do you think that girl is?
- 43:09Speaker 4: And you know, the right away they start, they're like
- 43:11Speaker 4: thirty something, thirty two, thirty this, And I'll say I
- 43:16Speaker 4: think she's twenty two, and they look at me like
- 43:19Speaker 4: I'm crazy, and they work up the you know, the
- 43:22Speaker 4: genetic goal to ask her, hey, how old are you?
- 43:24Speaker 4: We're trying to figure this out here. And I'm always right,
- 43:28Speaker 4: I'm always right. Sometimes I'm more right than I want
- 43:30Speaker 4: to be, and I don't want to be right on
- 43:32Speaker 4: these things, and it makes you wonder, you know. I think,
- 43:34Speaker 4: as a general rule, at least if you have children
- 43:36Speaker 4: that are girls, I don't feel comfortable dating a girl
- 43:40Speaker 4: that's the same age as my daughter. That just doesn't
- 43:42Speaker 4: feel right. But a couple of years older, like you know,
- 43:47Speaker 4: maybe ten eight, Yeah, I think I'm down with that,
- 43:51Speaker 4: maybe even more my daughter's twenty four. If a girls
- 43:55Speaker 4: thirty one, thirty two, I don't think i'd have an
- 43:59Speaker 4: issue with that.
- 44:00Speaker 5: I really don't. I don't now what I find a
- 44:03Speaker 5: lot in common. Maybe not.
- 44:05Speaker 4: I mean, maybe some of my musical interests are similar
- 44:08Speaker 4: to a woman that age, but I don't know. It
- 44:11Speaker 4: depends on, you know, what they do for a living,
- 44:13Speaker 4: what type of experiences. I guess everything's kind of out there.
- 44:16Speaker 4: But as a rule of thumb, I don't think I
- 44:19Speaker 4: want to date girls in their twenties. So I don't know.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Is mister Van Dink rocking the cradle over here?
- 44:25Speaker 5: I don't know. I'd love to get your thoughts on it.
- 44:27Speaker 4: I think I'm gonna share this article over the weekend
- 44:31Speaker 4: and see if you guys will share a couple of
- 44:33Speaker 4: comments on it, and we'll circle back on that, but
- 44:36Speaker 4: that's the latest.
- 44:37Speaker 7: Here.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Oh, one more statistic. Based on the twenty eighteen CDC
- 44:45Speaker 4: Life Table, a girl born in the United States has
- 44:48Speaker 4: a two and a half to five and a half
- 44:50Speaker 4: percent chance of living to one hundred, depending on her
- 44:53Speaker 4: race or ethnicity, while a boy has a way lesser chance,
- 44:58Speaker 4: only zero point nine to two point two percent chance
- 45:02Speaker 4: of living to one hundred. Does that mean men are
- 45:04Speaker 4: less healthy, No, it just means men do more dangerous
- 45:07Speaker 4: things in life.
- 45:08Speaker 9: Right.
- 45:08Speaker 4: The reason that we die younger, I think, is because
- 45:13Speaker 4: you ever seen a woman building a bridge or climbing
- 45:16Speaker 4: a telephone pole. And I'm sure somebody's going, yeah, I've
- 45:19Speaker 4: seen that. I know a girl. Okay, fine, you know
- 45:21Speaker 4: a girl. You've seen it once. By and large, it's
- 45:25Speaker 4: men that work on these things, right, oil rigs. We
- 45:29Speaker 4: had a guest on once and I remember seeing the
- 45:32Speaker 4: pictures of him on the Instagram and whatnot. You know,
- 45:35Speaker 4: working at these oil rigs, And it's hard work. These guys,
- 45:38Speaker 4: they work hard. They drill may be drill. And I'm
- 45:41Speaker 4: not saying that women can't do hard work. I'm saying,
- 45:43Speaker 4: you know what else is hard work? Taking care of children,
- 45:45Speaker 4: taking care of a home. I know a lot of
- 45:47Speaker 4: guys can't do that. Some guys do the whole stay
- 45:49Speaker 4: at home dad thing. I've raised my kids, you know,
- 45:52Speaker 4: in a co parenting situation where they were with me
- 45:54Speaker 4: alone for you know, days at a time, three four
- 45:57Speaker 4: days a week for many years. And was it wasn't
- 46:01Speaker 4: easy at all. Was it easier to show up at work? Yes,
- 46:04Speaker 4: it was easier. It was easier for me to go
- 46:06Speaker 4: and do whatever labor I did, whether it was talking
- 46:08Speaker 4: on the radio, talking in the state government, thinking, writing
- 46:13Speaker 4: on my laptop, whatever it was. All of that was
- 46:15Speaker 4: a lot easier than actually doing the hard work, the
- 46:20Speaker 4: elbow geriast that goes along with parenting. And I'm not
- 46:23Speaker 4: saying I didn't want to do it. I adored it.
- 46:26Speaker 4: It's one of the few things in life that I
- 46:27Speaker 4: think defined me. I don't feel defined by my career
- 46:31Speaker 4: per se. I feel blessed by it, but I don't
- 46:35Speaker 4: feel defined by it. But I do feel defined in
- 46:39Speaker 4: my role as a father. I think it's something you
- 46:42Speaker 4: can't shake. It's one of the few things you know,
- 46:45Speaker 4: maybe your faith, your role as a parent. I don't
- 46:49Speaker 4: feel defined by my role as a son, right I
- 46:53Speaker 4: think my parents aren't around anymore, and so I technically
- 46:59Speaker 4: not a son anymore. So I don't feel like that's
- 47:03Speaker 4: a part of my identity, but I do feel like
- 47:05Speaker 4: being a dad is part of my identity. It's truly
- 47:08Speaker 4: every breath I take that there's dad thoughts going through
- 47:11Speaker 4: my mind. I hope she's okay. I hope she has this.
- 47:13Speaker 4: I hope that you know. It's just always going in
- 47:15Speaker 4: the back of your mind. Anyway, some food for thought there.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Who's going to live to one hundred? I don't know anyway.
- 47:21Speaker 4: One more segment to go. We're going to talk about
- 47:24Speaker 4: what to expect in the week to come. I'm guessing
- 47:27Speaker 4: Democrats are going to be all over the Sunday Show saying, Hey,
- 47:30Speaker 4: guess what. We have got to make sure that we
- 47:35Speaker 4: keep blaming the Republicans for everything that's bad. We've got
- 47:39Speaker 4: to make sure that we double down and say that
- 47:40Speaker 4: Trump is doing illegal things, that he's blowing up drug terrorists,
- 47:44Speaker 4: and that's bad, and Pete Heseth has something to do
- 47:47Speaker 4: with it.
- 47:48Speaker 5: Don't go anywhere.
- 47:49Speaker 2: This is America.
- 47:54Speaker 4: We live in a remarkable time in human history right now,
- 47:57Speaker 4: one in which our technology has dramatically proved our living standards.
- 48:02Speaker 4: That's because the people that design and build the modern
- 48:06Speaker 4: wonders that make our lives better are bound by physical reality,
- 48:10Speaker 4: a world in which things either work or they don't work. Unfortunately,
- 48:14Speaker 4: those who oversee our political and educational institutions aren't limited
- 48:18Speaker 4: by these same constraints. Instead, they often implement their agendas
- 48:22Speaker 4: by exploiting people's ignorance on issues like taxes and immigration.
- 48:26Speaker 4: So where do we go to get the facts? Well,
- 48:28Speaker 4: you listen to this as America, But if you're online,

- 49:24Speaker 5: He's making podcasting great again.
- 49:27Speaker 2: This is America with Rich.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Valdez, all right, I mean he goes welcome back, and
- 49:32Speaker 4: we're wrapping.
- 49:33Speaker 5: It up, so FAMDIA. Next week I think is going
- 49:37Speaker 5: to be a roller coaster, just like this week was.
- 49:39Speaker 4: Right, some wins, some wits, and all that breakable American
- 49:44Speaker 4: spirit that we all love now, from hexap calling out
- 49:48Speaker 4: the Biden Cruz snoozefest on defense to the Trump team
- 49:52Speaker 4: scoring big on borders, I think we're going to see
- 49:56Speaker 4: a lot more of that in the week to come.
- 49:58Speaker 4: And hey, let's not forget what about the heartwarming stories.
- 50:01Speaker 4: I like those, Right, there's a story about the chess
- 50:04Speaker 4: whiz kid checkmating the world. That's a good one, and
- 50:09Speaker 4: in a couple others that I think are pretty interesting
- 50:11Speaker 4: and we're going to get to. But looking ahead to
- 50:14Speaker 4: next week, I think we should buckle up because we
- 50:18Speaker 4: got more of that holiday hustle. It's going to be
- 50:19Speaker 4: starting on Monday with people just going into holiday mode,
- 50:22Speaker 4: but ramping things up and amping them up so that
- 50:25Speaker 4: they can get as much attention as they can because
- 50:27Speaker 4: it's a little easier to get attention in December because
- 50:30Speaker 4: a lot of people take off two weeks out of
- 50:32Speaker 4: the year or three weeks out of the year like me. Right,
- 50:35Speaker 4: I plan to be in Puerto Rico for a good
- 50:37Speaker 4: part of the end of this year, and you know,
- 50:42Speaker 4: the headlines are always going to be there. I think
- 50:45Speaker 4: what's important for us is that we keep showing up.
- 50:48Speaker 4: We keep showing up to have these conversations. We keep
- 50:51Speaker 4: showing up to make sure that we stay informed and
- 50:54Speaker 4: in my opinion, more importantly entertained. Right, it's important that
- 50:58Speaker 4: we don't lose our humor in this Right. I don't
- 51:00Speaker 4: mean humor like funny, but I mean like in Spanish,
- 51:02Speaker 4: like buen. Right, you're having a good attitude, a good
- 51:06Speaker 4: outlook on things, where we're not trying to kill the world.
- 51:08Speaker 5: We're not trying to kill our neighbor.
- 51:10Speaker 4: We're trying to figure things out, We're trying to have
- 51:11Speaker 4: a conversation, We're trying to elevate the consciousness of the
- 51:15Speaker 4: national discourse. Those are the things that we want to do,
- 51:19Speaker 4: that we want to achieve, right, while not losing touch.
- 51:23Speaker 5: Right.
- 51:24Speaker 4: This is why I always try to include something from
- 51:26Speaker 4: the pop culture world, because it's a thing, and you
- 51:31Speaker 4: want to be as eclectic as you can be by
- 51:33Speaker 4: the way, I want to speaking of the media and
- 51:35Speaker 4: stuff like that, I want to give a shout out,
- 51:37Speaker 4: big shout out to the Christmas party I was invited to.
- 51:41Speaker 4: I was not able to make it because of a
- 51:42Speaker 4: train issue, So forgive me. I want to ask for
- 51:46Speaker 4: forgiveness from mister Bozell who's now serving in the Trump
- 51:50Speaker 4: administration at the US Agency for Global Media, Brent Bozell.
- 51:57Speaker 4: Of course, mister David Bozell, now the president over at
- 52:00Speaker 4: the Media Research Center. I want to give a big
- 52:02Speaker 4: shout out to Dan Schneider, vice president over at the
- 52:05Speaker 4: Media Research Center, and of course the whole crew. They
- 52:08Speaker 4: did an amazing job at their holiday party on Thursday
- 52:11Speaker 4: last night, and big shout out to them. Also wanted
- 52:15Speaker 4: to give a shout out to the chair of the
- 52:17Speaker 4: Chairs in New Jersey Republican politics, a guy named Jose Arango.
- 52:22Speaker 4: He's the director of Economic Development for the City of
- 52:25Speaker 4: Jersey Cities, an old political mentor of mine. I like
- 52:28Speaker 4: to say in Spanish, he's my father, you know, political
- 52:31Speaker 4: and Jose Arango was actually the youngest state assembly person
- 52:35Speaker 4: elected in New Jersey and got elected with Ronald Reagan
- 52:38Speaker 4: during the Reagan Revolution back in the eighties, so kudos
- 52:42Speaker 4: to him. He also had a great Christmas party, and
- 52:44Speaker 4: I wanted to thank him for having me as well.
- 52:47Speaker 4: So just I wanted to put those two things out there.
- 52:50Speaker 4: And of course a big shout out to Lydia Saranai
- 52:52Speaker 4: from Newsmax for having me on her show, John Bachmann
- 52:55Speaker 4: from Newsmax as well. Just a lot of great people
- 52:59Speaker 4: having some great Desis discussions, and of course you all
- 53:01Speaker 4: the American people, always happy to have those conversations with
- 53:05Speaker 4: you guys. Anyway, we were talking about pop culture and
- 53:08Speaker 4: different things and different shenanigans. And you know, there's only
- 53:14Speaker 4: twelve veterans left.
- 53:17Speaker 5: That survived the Pearl Harbor attack.
- 53:21Speaker 4: So I want to make sure I give them a
- 53:24Speaker 4: standing salute, right hand to the head salute to those guys.
- 53:30Speaker 4: They are patriots, God bless them. Stay vigilant, because man, we.
- 53:37Speaker 5: Must.
- 53:38Speaker 4: We just have to take their example of staying vigilant
- 53:41Speaker 4: and staying vicious quite frankly in our approach to our Americanism.
- 53:48Speaker 4: And finally, you know, I would be remiss if I
- 53:52Speaker 4: didn't say, look to the rest of all of us,
- 53:54Speaker 4: that we have to stay sharp, right, we have to
- 53:58Speaker 4: stay sharp. We have to keep smiling, keep fighting the
- 54:00Speaker 4: good fight. Because while we do this, this conversation with
- 54:05Speaker 4: a dash of sofrito, we also have to make sure
- 54:08Speaker 4: that we keep doing it and that we don't burn
- 54:10Speaker 4: ourselves out, because there's so much more to come straight ahead.
- 54:14Speaker 4: You have to stand for something, right that old saying
- 54:17Speaker 4: from Lord Acton and others. If you stand for nothing,
- 54:20Speaker 4: you'll fall for anything.
- 54:22Speaker 5: And the only.
- 54:23Speaker 4: Thing necessary for evil to triumph is for you good
- 54:27Speaker 4: people to sit there and do nothing. So make sure
- 54:30Speaker 4: you do something. Make sure you stand for something. I
- 54:33Speaker 4: start approxima, take care, good night, and God bless you America.
