- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello, Christians.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: This is Dallas Beacham.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Stand by for good news.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Long ago, King sealed important documents.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: That seal identified the owner, confirmed the promise, and warned everyone that the document belonged to the king.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: If the king had sealed it, no ordinary man had the authority to change it.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: The Bible tells us that God also has a seal, not pressed into wax, but placed upon the hearts of those who believe and obey the gospel.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Paul wrote in Ephesians 1 13 and 14, he said, In whom you also trusted after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Notice the order.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Then they were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: The Spirit is called the earnest, the down payment of our inheritance.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: And earnest is a pledge, a guarantee that something greater is still coming.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: On the day of Pentecost, Peter told the people how to enter this promise.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Then he added, For the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are far off.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: That promise reached beyond Jerusalem.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: It reached through the centuries.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: It reaches us today.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: The Holy Spirit is more than a moment of blessing.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: It is God's life within us, God's mark upon us, and God's pledge that death will not have the final word.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Ephesians four and thirty says, Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: A day of redemption lies ahead, the body grows weak, hair turns gray, friends and loved ones are laid to rest.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: But those who are sealed by God have a promise stronger than the grave.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: The spirit that lives within them points forward to resurrection morning.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Romans 8 and 11 declares, but if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: The same God who raised Jesus will give life to mortal bodies.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: The seal and the resurrection belong to the same promise.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: That's where our five day journey begins.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Before the saints rise, before they meet the Lord in the air, before the marriage supper, and before the kingdom is established upon the earth, God prepares a people and seals them with his Holy Spirit of promise.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: The world may not recognize that seal.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: A gravestone cannot display it.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Death cannot erase it, but God knows those who are his.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: When the appointed hour comes, the one who placed the seal will redeem the possession.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: I hope today's message has touched your heart and causes you to have a good day.
