- 0:37SPEAKER_02: We won the potty.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: We won the potty.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: The potty for those of you who maybe aren't familiar with our industry, the potty is a podcast award.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: It's for the podcast that is the has the most toilet humor of any podcast in the United States.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: Something I'm very proud of.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: I am too.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: And we beat Improv for Humans for that.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, that was that was not easy to do.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, let me tell you, those guys are those guys are tough.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Those guys are we won the potty.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, Jeff.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: And on top of that, great accolade, that honor, we have tonight in our studio, right?
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: The other side of the glass.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: You you see, you see him over there?
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: See he was over there?
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: He's got, you know, that podcaster that we've been chasing, that we've been thinking, hey, we're gonna make more money than him.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: And he's the the former comedian, the MMA fighter that's making all this money in his podcast.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: He's in our studio tonight.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: Joe Rogan's here.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: We have on the other side of that glass, Joe Rogan.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Hey Joe, how are you this evening?
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Thanks for coming on the show, Joe.
- 1:39SPEAKER_03: Hi Joe.
- 1:40SPEAKER_03: Hey guys, uh, how's it going?
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: It's uh Jeff and uh Steve, right?
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, Joe Rogan.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: I never thought we'd have Joe Rogan on the show.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: Did you, Jeff?
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: I never did.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Uh we've hit the big time.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm so excited.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: I I just uh one thing though.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: Um my last name is actually Rogain.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: I I'm Jeff Rogain.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Did you did you change your name for the podcast?
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: Um I have my own podcast, it's just about thinning hair.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: Wait, wait.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: So you're you're Jeff Rogane?
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: Jeffrey Joe Jeffrey Joe Rogan.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: So then surprising?
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: So then you're not the Joe Rogan we've been talking about.
- 2:36SPEAKER_03: Um apparently not.
- 2:38SPEAKER_03: From the uh looks on your faces, this seems to be quite a surprise.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Well gosh, Jeff, I you know, this this catches us kind of by surprise here.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, not to go back to potty humor, but with catches us with our pants down, you know what I mean?
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if you ask me again, not to go potty, this is a bunch of shit.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, yeah, yeah.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Well, uh you you you know, uh uh Jeffrey Rogain, you know, can I call you Jeff?
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Of course that's gonna be confusing.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Can I call you Joe?
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Might as well.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: He's Jeff, you know?
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Why don't I call you Joe?
- 3:13SPEAKER_03: Okay, can we call you Joe uh Joe Rogan?
- 3:15SPEAKER_03: Look, as long as the check clears, you guys can call me whatever you want.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: You want me to oh wait, he's getting a check?
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: But I digressed.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: But I digress.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: What up?
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: Uh Joe, uh you know, we we kind of prepared to have some questions for the MMA podcaster comedian Joe Rogan, but we could ask those same questions to Joe Rogane, don't you think?
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Don't you think we could, Jeff?
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: I yeah, and and the other thing is, you know, Steve, you and I are very you know smart on our feet.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: I think we can make this work.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: I think it's still gonna be fascinating.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: Um I don't know anything about him, but yeah, I think I could tailor some of these questions to kind of fit.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Um, I think we can try.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: And and and see, this is this is the nature of podcasting.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: This is why we won that potty, because we can pivot, we can move, we can adjust to the reality that's going on.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: Well, um you want you want to take it off there?
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: Wash away the previous agenda and start anew.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:16SPEAKER_03: This sounds sounds fun.
- 4:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm here, yeah.
- 4:18SPEAKER_03: And I I've heard of Joe Rogan.
- 4:20SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: I haven't actually seen his podcast, but loved him on news radio.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: So news radio, that's right.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: Well, Jeff, would you like would you have a question for uh Mr.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Rogan?
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, let me hear let me kick let me kick this off again, sort of flying by the seat of my pants here, but this will be good.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: So I guess my first question is did you always want to be in comedy?
- 4:40SPEAKER_03: Oh, ever since I was a little kid, um, I was always told I was funny.
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: That was mostly, you know, my mom and dad would just say, you know, that kid's funny.
- 4:50SPEAKER_03: And uh so yeah, I I always figured I'd have a career in comedy instead of what I had.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: And at what point did you at what point did you start your wrestling career?
- 5:00SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, the wrestling career, when you're the youngest of six brothers, it starts pretty much as soon as you're, you know, out.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: You know, you you come out of the womb and you've got at least one brother on top of you.
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: So, you know, it started early.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: And then now talk about the transition from comedy to MMA.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, that or was it the other way around?
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Tell me about that transition.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: It seems like an odd move.
- 5:24SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, I mean, they were always kind of two things that I loved.
- 5:28SPEAKER_03: And so um, yeah, I just did them both at the same time.
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: I would go to a comedy show and then uh go to a fight.
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: Sometimes I'd go to a fight and then do a comedy show.
- 5:39SPEAKER_03: Sometimes I'd go to a fight at a comedy show.
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: Those were the ones, you know, that's like a double bill right there.
- 5:44SPEAKER_03: You know, I've seen a couple of those, yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 5:47SPEAKER_03: If you can get to a comedy show and a fight breaks out, that's just like heaven.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but and then and then the move to podcasting.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Did you ever think you'd be this big in podcasting?
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: No, I mean, you know, I'm up to where I have almost a dozen viewers or listeners or whatever they're called them podcasting.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: What do you guys call your audience?
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: I I call them, you know, mom, my sister.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, yeah.
- 6:12SPEAKER_03: If I didn't have so many brothers, I would probably have you know half the people listening, right?
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: Um, but you know, podcasting just it seems like a natural thing.
- 6:22SPEAKER_03: You've been fighting for so long.
- 6:24SPEAKER_03: Um, it just seems natural to put a microphone on your head and talk to your computer.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I just need to take a break here for a second, Steve.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: This is working out great.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: You know, it's like we asked the same questions and we're getting answers.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: I don't know what else you'd ever want.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: This is as good as if we had that MMA podcasting stuff comedian.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: This is, I think this might even be better.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: Might even be better because he he's a he's a regular guy, you know, he's just a regular guy who we can talk to, you know.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: Wow, I I agree.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: This is excellent.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: So now, uh, Mr.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Rogan, what did you do before comedy?
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: How'd you how'd you get into comedy?
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Tell us about that.
- 7:02SPEAKER_03: I worked for the government in a series of jobs at locations that are undisclosed and are currently blurred on Google Maps.
- 7:11SPEAKER_03: But I just always had this burning need to be the center of attention.
- 7:16SPEAKER_03: And I figured there's no better way to be the center of attention than to get into comedy and go to a lot of open mics because at an open mic, you are the center of attention.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: And a lot of fights at open mics.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, that's where you really see the fights.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: I know, and you can tell jokes and uh call a fight and be in a fight, and be in a fight, right?
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: And and break up a fight and start one.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's just it's so cool.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: It's so cool.
- 7:43SPEAKER_03: It's cool.
- 7:43SPEAKER_03: That's uh where I kind of got into it.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it sounds like you have another job that uh we were not aware of.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: So did you say you do something with the government?
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, are you a mailman?
- 7:54SPEAKER_03: I no, well, I am a male and I am a man, but I'm not a male.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there he is, right?
- 8:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I I really can't talk about what I do at work.
- 8:04SPEAKER_03: I mean, it it has something to do with airplanes in the desert, but that's really about all I can say, you know.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, can I can I just ask, do do the words MK Ultra mean anything to you?
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: Isn't that a kind of malt liquor?
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: It is, it is.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: I had seven of them one night in college, and I just I think I'm finally it's finally wearing off, you know.
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: I hope you didn't fly, Steve, after that.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, I know.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: I didn't need a fly.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: I flew all right.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: But this is so good.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: I you know, Jeff, I think I think we should have more people on who are very similarly named to famous people.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: I think that'd be a whole genre for us.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: And we could have our audience guessing which famous person they're gonna have next.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: I I think you're right.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Maybe we should have Jennifer Banniston on at some point.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: I think that that's very doable.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: You know, and and we could ask, we could ask her about the whole nose thing, and she'd say, I I don't know, I have no idea what you're talking about.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: I didn't be fun.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: I think it's it's perfect.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: So Jeffrey Joe, Joseph Jeffrey.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, just call him Joe.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be too confusing, Jeff and Jeff.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: Got it, got it, got it for the listening audience.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: So, Joe, uh, this podcast thing, you know, for Steve and I, it's yeah, hasn't exactly been lucrative quite yet.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: We're just wondering like what we should expect when we get as famous as you.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: Can you want to give us an idea on how much money you make?
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, because you're making the big money now, Joe.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: You really are.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 9:31SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm literally getting dozens of dollars a month.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: Dozens, it's a lot.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: They are it is, it's more than 20 and less than 30.
- 9:41SPEAKER_02: Are they dollar bills or are they tens and twenties, too?
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, they send a check because they got to take out the Medicare, yeah.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:52SPEAKER_03: I mean, but I usually clare eight, nine bucks easy every month.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: Wow, every month.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Wow, we can get there, Jeff.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: I know we can.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: Eight more dollars, and we're there.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: It's eight more than we're making right now, and I tell you, that is we can get there.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: It's a big hill, it's a big hill, but we can do it.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, totally.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: The other question that I would have for you is have you been on other podcast shows?
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: Um, any other famous ones where we maybe should try to get some of those people on our show as well.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Um, anything you could recommend to us?
- 10:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean, I've done quite a few other podcasts.
- 10:25SPEAKER_03: It turns out that uh being named Joe Rogan and having it spelled the same way as Joe Rogan spells his name, even though that shouldn't, you know, Rogan.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: Come on.
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: Um, I've been on uh comedy bang bang.
- 10:40SPEAKER_03: I've been on one with uh Dr.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: Sanjay Gupta.
- 10:43SPEAKER_03: I did the Dr.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: Phil one for a while.
- 10:46SPEAKER_03: I was on him, I was on the Dr.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: Phil podcast for a whole week, and um I did three days on uh on one with Jennifer Aniston.
- 10:55SPEAKER_03: Jennifer Aniston?
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Um Jeff, he's a celebrity, and he's met Jennifer Aniston.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: Wow, you are my hero.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: Was her nose really nice looking?
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: I gotta be honest with you guys, I didn't see her nose.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Oh you were looking at the hair camera.
- 11:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because that hair, the hair, the Jennifer, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: And did you say that you you met her on comedy gangbang?
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: Oh I was on that podcast too.
- 11:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, oh okay, okay.
- 11:26SPEAKER_03: But uh we were talking comedy bang bang with bang bang, bang, bang, bang bang.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: Oh very close, very similar.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: It's kind of like Rogan and Rogan, you know, it's it's kind of the same thing, right?
- 11:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but it's one thing if you get uh Rogan and Rogan confused, it's what another thing if you get bang bang and gangbang confused.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: That would seem worse, yeah.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: That would seem worse.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: You know, uh Joe, if you don't mind, we we have a new feature on the show where we take calls from listeners.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Well, you you up for a couple of calls, Joe?
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: I'm here.
- 11:57SPEAKER_03: It's not like I gotta get back to my job out there in the desert, uh, you know, out at Area 51 doing anything.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: So oh but you know, I really can't talk.
- 12:05SPEAKER_03: I can't talk about my job.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: I think I know what you're doing out there, yeah.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, doing a little uh immigration work with some of those aliens, I think.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:16SPEAKER_03: You caught me.
- 12:17SPEAKER_03: You caught me.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 12:19SPEAKER_03: Are they I are they are they really green?
- 12:21SPEAKER_03: Parts of them, parts of them.
- 12:24SPEAKER_03: I'm afraid to ask you.
- 12:25SPEAKER_03: Not the parts you'd think.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: Oh see, that's so tricky.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: So I uh you probably have to like study a lot to really to do that, because I did that's uh I wouldn't have thought that.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: The biggest thing you have to be able to do to work there is to keep your mouth shut about it, you know.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can well and do hosting a podcast, of course you can keep your mouth shut, right?
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Because you know that's the nature of the podcast, right?
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, of course you can.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: So let's uh let's let's let's grab a couple calls here.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: Let's uh let's do that.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: Call is from Jeff in Chicago.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: Jeff, go ahead.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Hi, this is uh Jeff from Chicago.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm uh calling to ask him uh a question for Joe Rogan.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Um although now I think it the question might actually be for Steve.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Um Steve, um I'm in the market for an antique car, and um you know I think it's a good investment, uh, but I know that you have to be careful on what you're buying.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: And uh I've heard that uh you have a special love for old cars.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: So I'm hoping that you can give me some suggestions I want to look for so that uh you know I get the right car.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Um that's my question.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: I'll hang up and listen for my answer.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Well, hey, Jeff from Chicago, thank you for calling in.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: And you know, you are on the right track.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: Let me recommend that you get, if you can find a 1965 Chevy Impala Super Sport, you want to get that car, you will fall in love with that car just like I have.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: Wait, oh Jeff, Jeff, I got oh, okay.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: I snapped out of it.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: All right, all right, but but but Jeff from Chicago, not Jeff here, Jeff from Chicago.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: If you can find one with a black exterior and a red interior, golden.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: You know, because you know I am from the future, and in the future, that's gonna be worth a ton of money.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: You want to get one of those.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: Now, Steve, I think those uh when you're when you're talking about those antiques, a lot of them come with manual transmission.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: Would you recommend one with a with a stick or something more on the tree of the of the steering?
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: Well, I you know, I I always personally with the Impala, I always like to grab the stick.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: I I'm kind of a grab guy and uh you're old school.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: Something about the Impala really makes me want to want to grab it.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I do.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: Well, I think we got another caller here, Jeff.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Let's see.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: Uh Steve from Omaha here.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Come on in.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Hello, Steve and Jeff.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: And uh and and Mr.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Rogan.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Uh uh first, Stephen Jeff, let me just say longtime listener, first time caller, because well, you know you you haven't taken calls yet before.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: But uh Jeff, I have a question for you.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: Uh specific to your your recent nose job.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Now that you've got the new nose, uh do things smell different?
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: Do they smell new to the other?
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: Well, Steve, fascinating question.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: And to be honest with you, it's one that I'm still kind of sorting through myself.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: Uh, with this new nose, um uh Joe, you may not know, but uh I I got a nose job uh a few weeks ago.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: Still kind of uh you know, taking this baby for a spin, but he had it made bigger, yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Joe.
- 15:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there was a little miscommunication there, but I kind of like it, and uh it's it's doing well.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: But yeah, in terms of my smells, part of it is you know, I just don't have great hygiene anyway.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: And I didn't realize it until I got this nose job because I I smell a lot better now, you know, a lot more uh intensely.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: So it's kind of led to a lifestyle change, you know.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm taking more showers, uh that kind of stuff.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Soap is a thing for you now, right?
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: You know, I never knew it just wasn't it wasn't a priority before.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: And Deb, I really appreciate the call.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: And um, I'll keep you posted and see if I come up with any new smells.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, you know, Jeff, uh and and Joe, uh, we've got a lot more questions for you, Joe.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: But Jeff, we've got a new sponsor.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, wonderful.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: Another new sponsor, another one coming in.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: So let's go to commercial and then we'll come back with some more questions for Joe Rogan.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Do you have really big items that you need shipped?
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: Having trouble finding the right delivery service?
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Don't go with just any package delivery service.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: For that really big package, you need big package delivery.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: At big package delivery, we make hard things easy.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: We will grab your big package and make sure it gets where you want it to go.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Anybody can handle little packages, but it takes a skilled hand and a lot of focus to handle really big packages.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: No packages too big for us.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Call us for on-site pickup.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: We can't wait to get our hands on your big package and slip it into one of our big package delivery vans.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Don't worry, it'll fit.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Or you can take your big package to any of our convenient metro locations.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: We'll make sure it gets to where you want it to go.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: At your recipient's front or back door.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: For more information, call our manager Mike Hawk.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: That's Mike H O C H.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: Big Package Delivery.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Size matters.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: You know, I gotta ship uh something really big, like like the 65 impala or something like that.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, you know, Steve, um, I don't know what it costs to ship to Australia, but you know, sending a big package down under is uh I know it can be expensive.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: It can, and and sometimes it has repercussions, you know what I mean?
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Joe, uh you know, I gotta ask, with a name like Joe Rogain, uh I you know, if you look through the the studio glass here, let me uh let me tap on the glass here a little bit.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: See, uh you look right, follow the noise here, right?
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Okay, and you you'll notice that uh I'm losing some hair and uh Jeff really has lost a lot of things.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: I lost it a long time ago, yeah.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Uh you know, with a name like Rogain, you you think you have anything for us that might work?
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: They make these uh little hats you can wear that have like ultraviolet lights on them.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: I like wearing that.
- 18:31SPEAKER_03: You can get yourself one of those.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: They don't grow hair, but they but they look cool, right?
- 18:37SPEAKER_03: Well, they're supposed to grow hair, but they do look cool.
- 18:40SPEAKER_03: So one's more certain than the other.
- 18:43SPEAKER_03: You will look cool, you might grow hair.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: Um, and they make hats and they also make under bridges, you know.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: Oh so in case you need to grow hair, you know, down there.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: In the land down under, so to speak.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: So to speak, yes.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: So to speak, yeah.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Well that you know, hey, that's good to know.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: It's really good to know.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: And Joe, uh in general, where did you get your comedy chops?
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: Who who who were who was were some of your idols um along the way?
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: I had a real real love of uh some of the classics.
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: I would uh follow like Shecky Green was uh Jan Jan Murray.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Jan Murray, yes.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: A lot of those mom's Maybelly.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: I always, you know, if you could just I could just sit down and watch mom's Maybelly for hours and hours.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, I loved her.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: I in fact, I heard one of her comedy records and I thought, I thought she was actually my mom.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: I saw her on TV and I realized no, she's she's probably not, but you know, but I I thought she was, you know.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't she have uh she had quite a mouth on her, which actually made me think she was my mom.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: Uh you know, my mom swore like a like a drunken sailor.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like a mom's maybe.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Well, wait, I your mom actually was a drunken sailor, I think.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Well, I remember we had we used to drink a lot, we used to drink all the time.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: I think you're I think you're talking about my father and the way I was conceived, but uh but yeah, the they were both drunk sailors, if you guys, but yeah, moms, so mom's mabley and and uh I I bet somewhere in there was Myron Cohen.
- 20:27SPEAKER_03: Oh, absolutely.
- 20:28SPEAKER_03: He was um without a doubt the greatest storyteller.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: And then you know, I've always looked up to uh Woody Allen.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: Well, he made you look up to him, you know.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I am a short person, so look at it.
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: So he liked you right away, yes.
- 20:43SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, you know, Woody Allen and uh he he did this bit about a moose, you know, killing a moose and having the moose wake up in the in the Holland tunnel.
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: I had that dream.
- 20:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that and and oh funny, you know, tying back to the previous conversation, that's how I was conceived.
- 21:01SPEAKER_03: I was conceived on a hunting trip gone wrong in the Holland Tunnel.
- 21:04SPEAKER_03: In the Holland tunnel, in the Holland tunnel, yes.
- 21:06SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 21:06SPEAKER_03: My mom woke up in the Holland Tunnel, and the rest is uh the history, you know, with the older brothers and whatnot.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, you know, traffic can be so bad, and when there's a backup there, you could sit for a very long time.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: So I could see how someone could be conceived in the Holland Tunnel.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: I mean, that that is possible.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's more than possible.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: I'm the limit fruit by any chance.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Was this in a 65 impala convertible?
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Black with a red interior.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, Jeff.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: That sounds great.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: And then, of course, the final question I have, Steve, is uh Joe, do you do you advertise for this uh clandestine job of yours?
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: Is there any an opportunity for your promoter or for your podcast?
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: Do you advertise for your podcast at all?
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: I advertise for my podcast by hanging up these little flyers, like you know, for bands and whatnot.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: I put those uh in the windows of local bars and on uh telephone polls and what have you.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: And um then I use actually I use my podcast to advertise for position openings at area 51.
- 22:12SPEAKER_03: Wow but I can't talk about that.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Well you know we we should listen to that podcast because that could be that could be gainful employment for us working at Area 51.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: And you know advertising at bars is good because I people at bars listen to a lot of podcasts.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: When they're sitting there drinking they listen to podcasts.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: I know they do and and you know Joe you could advertise your podcast on our podcast.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: Ooh we could work out a deal here and then we can even go a step further and we could actually be on your podcast.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: We could yes you know we could reciprocate which I think would be great you know you would you would get access to our seven or eight people we'd have access to your uh seven people or seven or eight yeah and uh you know pull our money together I think there's a there's a a chance we can be bigger if we're together yeah absolutely yeah I think that's something worth jumping on well I'm really glad we did this this I am so much better than yeah you know you know sometimes sometimes you have like a a mistake a little mistake I mean I heard Rogan and I thought oh I saw the spelling I thought well it's gotta be him right well you know okay so it's not so he pronounces it a little different but are your ancestry from like Scotland or somewhere is that is that where they got this Rogain pronunciation uh we're actually Argentinian oh since the since after the war we were Argentinian oh should be Rogan then yeah I guess yeah it was actually in the older older older country it was pronounced Rogain ah okay excellent and and for me Steve you know it kind of goes back to my nose a little bit because you know I wanted to get my nose reduced it ended up becoming a enlarged but at the end of the day it's better and I think this is the same situation where you know we're looking for something kind of the opposite we're looking for something bigger we got something smaller but it's better.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: But it's better it's better and and just like your nose we can now smell a good thing when we stick our nose in it.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: Can you smell it from over there?
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: Because I you know well you probably can't the other side of the glass that glass really stops pretty much everything because I pretty much everything pretty much pretty much yeah I mean I I one time sorry about that guy a bunch of us had burritos here one time and there was a guy over there had no idea that we were eating burritos so you know it stops it pretty much stops.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah it's a guy with a cigar over there one time that didn't quite stop that but but still but but I did plus I don't want to get into the into the nitty gritty of this but you know that surgery I had Steve I didn't really um come out of it you know completely healed so there's some open source and they smell a little bit but I think it's normal and I think I'll be fine but yeah it has a little bit of a of a smell that I don't know it just doesn't seem quite right but what do I know?
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: I'm not a doctor so we're gonna defer that video podcast for a while that you know until those open source get healed.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah it's probably a good idea and when we do the video podcast Joe we can have you back.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: We'll have it well you have it back on the audio and we can be on your audio and we can just we can trade podcasts.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: It's like uh the circle of life in podcast I'd love to visit you at Area 51.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: I hear they got some great restaurants there.
- 25:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah they do and uh you know I I think we can I can bring you guys on bring your podcast friends to work day I like that government does that all the time right they do they do now I I was not aware that area area 51 still exists is do they still do like disco dancing there too and uh I know that back in the old days you know there's a lot of famous people used to go a lot of area 51 a lot of going on people with colds covet right yeah it was pre-COVID even yeah pre-COVID yeah yeah I mean when I first started there you could find Dion Warwick doing blow in the back room you know wow with the aliens like that gosh dion warwick doing blow with the aliens I mean my gosh who wouldn't want to see that yeah but you didn't hear it from me because I don't talk about work.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah well and and I just want to be clear I'm I'm against that stuff I've got a virgin nose uh I'm not putting anything in that nose at least for now all not that there isn't room but uh but right now I'm not I'm not and I'm not touching it.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: And I just got to say now I'm from the future so I know the future and let me tell you Dion World that psychic hotline she was way off way off.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: She had no idea what was going to happen.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: I've been making it up oh nice singer but you know the psychic thing yeah you know come on oh she was a singer well yeah before the psychic thing okay and see that shows that she wasn't really psychic because if she was really psychic she would have kept being a singer right true yeah there there were a couple of gray aliens that wrote almost all of her hits wow wow I didn't know that and one of them was named Bert Back wasn't he yeah I think yep Bert Backrak's an alien wow you kind of knew that from the name yeah backrack that's a Ukrainian for a reptile person I didn't know that it is look what's happening to Ukraine today my goodness see there you go wow who could have seen that coming well well I did it but hey Steve did it yeah but Dion Warwick sure didn't let me tell you that she's that's right lovely invested over there we're having such a good time I hate to say we're just about out of time here but Joe we'd like to have you back and we'd like to be on your podcast and we'd like to maybe advertise we'll advertise on yours you advertise on ours okay I'll uh shoot you uh I'll shoot you a commercial you can play uh on yours I'm just gonna play this podcast in its entirety as an advertisement on my podcast oh that's so cool beautiful thank you that's good because that's that's better than the commercial we would have done so that's great totally and uh I'll get you like a 15 second bump you can use.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: He's gonna grow here for us.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: I'm looking forward to it.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: I am too well hey everybody we'll be back next week with another show so tune back in and hey thanks everybody for listening.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: Thanks Joe thank you
