- 0:31what's going on everybody
- 0:32it's lunchtime lunch with
- 0:34the Clydesdale today we're
- 0:36cooking it up some cajun so
- 0:38how y'all are not bad my
- 0:42brother not bad it is
- 0:43graduation week at uh the
- 0:46learning residence so
- 0:49We had a band-based
- 0:51graduation or eighth-grade
- 0:53graduation or actual senior graduation?
- 0:57Senior, yes, sir.
- 0:59So last night was the – well, actually,
- 1:02let's back that up a little
- 1:03bit even further.
- 1:04So Sunday was Brody's
- 1:06girlfriend's graduation
- 1:08party this past Sunday.
- 1:10Last night was the band banquet.
- 1:12Tonight is just awards,
- 1:15like senior awards in general,
- 1:16and then graduation itself is –
- 1:19Friday.
- 1:22And then Sunday's Mother's Day.
- 1:25This is your second graduation of a child?
- 1:31Yep.
- 1:31I had to go through it once, man.
- 1:33Well, it's interesting.
- 1:38It's interesting.
- 1:41He's a good kid.
- 1:42He's a great kid.
- 1:44Got a couple awards last night.
- 1:46Missed out on one.
- 1:46I feel like he deserves...
- 1:49just for all the work he's
- 1:49done over the past four
- 1:51years of being in the band.
- 1:54But he is getting ready to
- 1:56get started being a college student.
- 2:02And where's he heading?
- 2:03LSU.
- 2:06Come on, dude.
- 2:06Go Tigers.
- 2:08It wasn't even a question for him.
- 2:10He enjoyed messing with my
- 2:11wife because he got –
- 2:16Once you start getting close,
- 2:17especially if you're in an
- 2:18organization like the band,
- 2:19you start getting letters
- 2:20from all over the place.
- 2:22He would get stuff from
- 2:23Northern Illinois State or whatever.
- 2:25He'd be telling Jennifer,
- 2:30it's where I'm going right here.
- 2:31She's like, no, you're not.
- 2:37Answer Meredith's question.
- 2:38No, he's not going to USL.
- 2:41Excuse me,
- 2:42ULL or USL whenever I was there
- 2:44or whenever I was in college.
- 2:46No, well, he's trying.
- 2:48So the golden band from
- 2:50Tiger Land is not exactly
- 2:52like you don't just walk on.
- 2:54There is an application process, tryouts,
- 2:59I guess you could say.
- 3:01And it goes over the course
- 3:03of a couple of different
- 3:04months or whatever.
- 3:05But he is one hundred
- 3:06percent going to give it his best shot.
- 3:09Try it out.
- 3:11he said even if not even if
- 3:13he doesn't make it he's
- 3:14gonna try to get into like
- 3:15there's percussion groups
- 3:16and stuff like that like at
- 3:17lsu and uh just be able to
- 3:19keep working on his craft
- 3:20and try again next year so
- 3:24yeah my daughter um she
- 3:26played in band all through
- 3:27high school went to ohio
- 3:29university which is not the
- 3:31buckeyes it's the actual
- 3:33first ohio university in the state and uh
- 3:38they they have what's called
- 3:39the marching one ten that
- 3:40do a lot of things
- 3:41yesterday um and she was
- 3:45gonna try out and then
- 3:46realize the commitment um
- 3:49during college and decided
- 3:51that her dream was to be a
- 3:53photographer not to be a
- 3:55saxophone player and so she
- 3:57uh she decided not to to
- 4:00make that commitment brody
- 4:02enjoys it um and I mean all
- 4:06his friends are in the band like
- 4:08know for the past four years
- 4:09our lives have revolved
- 4:10around him marching playing
- 4:12at football games marching
- 4:14season and then when they
- 4:15started doing concert band
- 4:17and then I mean last year
- 4:18they played at carnegie
- 4:19hall for christ sake with a
- 4:20symphonic band which was
- 4:22amazing um he just the
- 4:25golden man tiger land is a
- 4:26big deal at tiger stadium
- 4:28uh so it would be you know
- 4:31it would be awesome for him
- 4:32to do I mean he's not going
- 4:33to be saying he's not going
- 4:34to be you know
- 4:35growing up to be a drummer
- 4:37by any stretch of the
- 4:37imagination um he's getting
- 4:39the college of business as
- 4:40a matter of fact yeah as
- 4:42far removed from a musician
- 4:43as possible but gotta have
- 4:46dreams gotta have stuff to
- 4:48work towards so uh speaking
- 4:51about my daughter I talked
- 4:52to her last night she
- 4:54started a new job a week
- 4:55ago and last night she was
- 4:57uh shooting bees
- 5:00with a camera in both video
- 5:01and photography fashion.
- 5:04She works for,
- 5:05sells beekeeper equipment as
- 5:08one of their items.
- 5:09And so she went out and they
- 5:12were introducing bees to a new comb
- 5:18yeah and she videoed the
- 5:20process um and took
- 5:22pictures of the process to
- 5:24reintroduce bees to a new
- 5:26comb um and that's going to
- 5:28be out on their website
- 5:29soon okay and I was like
- 5:32that's really cool that is
- 5:35cool yeah so um super proud
- 5:37of her uh jody asked
- 5:39lunchtime how was your fast
- 5:40yesterday scotter did I
- 5:41miss the show no show yesterday um
- 5:46My wife had surgery
- 5:47yesterday and there's
- 5:48people asking about it in the chat,
- 5:50Meredith and Jay Burch and everyone.
- 5:54So I want to say that it went great.
- 5:59We were at the hospital at five a.m.
- 6:03So the four a.m.
- 6:03wake up call drove her to
- 6:05it's actually a surgery center,
- 6:07not a hospital,
- 6:08which was way nicer than
- 6:09the hospital we did last time.
- 6:13And we were home by eleven thirty.
- 6:16So I could have done the show,
- 6:19but I was exhausted.
- 6:22Flat out exhausted.
- 6:25The surgery went so well.
- 6:27All the PT she did on the
- 6:29first leg has paid off on
- 6:31the second leg because her
- 6:35new leg from January is strong now.
- 6:38And so she's able to push off.
- 6:40The only thing she can't get
- 6:42up on her own from is the bed.
- 6:45Everything else she can get up on her own.
- 6:48So I just have to help her
- 6:49out of the bed at night and
- 6:53in the morning.
- 6:54And when she lays down to
- 6:56elevate everything.
- 6:58Yeah, she's doing great.
- 6:59She's already moving around
- 7:01faster than before.
- 7:04Today,
- 7:04the nerve block was supposed to be done,
- 7:08but she's still doing pretty good.
- 7:11I tried to stay ahead on the
- 7:13pain meds yesterday so that
- 7:15when the nerve block let loose today,
- 7:17she would still be.
- 7:18Yeah, quite so bad.
- 7:20Yeah.
- 7:22But she's doing awesome.
- 7:24I'm betting she's back upstairs in a week.
- 7:28That's amazing.
- 7:28Yeah.
- 7:30Yeah.
- 7:30Just because of how strong
- 7:31the new leg is from all the
- 7:33PT she's done.
- 7:35And you know, when they PT,
- 7:37they just like in CrossFit, you do,
- 7:39you stay balanced, right?
- 7:41So you do PT on the new leg,
- 7:43but they were doing the old
- 7:44trashed leg too.
- 7:46So when they did the surgery,
- 7:48that leg is stronger taking
- 7:50the new let the new knee now.
- 7:53Amazing.
- 7:54But just like, like Rihanna,
- 7:56she's titanium now.
- 7:57So, um,
- 8:01And she likes to remind me that,
- 8:03that she is full of titanium.
- 8:07Does that say she's got two titanium?
- 8:09Let me ask you something.
- 8:11All bullshit aside,
- 8:12going through the airport metal detector.
- 8:18She has a card.
- 8:20Really?
- 8:20She has to carry a card.
- 8:21I don't know enough people
- 8:23that have shit like that.
- 8:25Really?
- 8:25Yeah.
- 8:26I don't think it matters in
- 8:28the new version where you
- 8:29have to do the... But if
- 8:31you go through a metal detector,
- 8:33you have to... In New Orleans,
- 8:38once you actually get to
- 8:40the security place or whatever,
- 8:44they'll pull some people
- 8:44aside and just hit them
- 8:45with the wand and you can
- 8:47just go on through.
- 8:49Generally speaking,
- 8:49because there's only one security area,
- 8:51there's a whole lot of people there.
- 8:54That's why I was wondering.
- 8:54I was like,
- 8:56if she got hit with a wand, if that,
- 8:58if that team's going to go off,
- 8:59I guess it will.
- 9:00It's metal.
- 9:00It makes sense.
- 9:01Yeah.
- 9:01She,
- 9:02there's a medical card she'll carry
- 9:03that it says she has metal parts.
- 9:08Yeah.
- 9:08That's awesome.
- 9:10Yeah.
- 9:12But I'm glad she's moving around, dude.
- 9:14That's amazing.
- 9:15Good shit.
- 9:16Yeah.
- 9:17She's killing it, man.
- 9:17It's,
- 9:19weird thing is my doubt my
- 9:20dog gets squirrely whenever
- 9:22this happens so like he
- 9:24requires more assistance
- 9:26than normal but yeah yeah
- 9:30no more mris for her yep
- 9:33that would be pretty awful
- 9:34for that magnet to rip that
- 9:37right out of there I don't
- 9:38think about that that
- 9:43sounds terrible if you
- 9:45listen you go you can watch
- 9:47what she had done
- 9:49online just say total knee
- 9:50replacement yeah it is
- 9:52archaic how they do it they
- 9:56like to say cut it open
- 9:58it's not laparoscopic they
- 9:59cut it open cut it open no
- 10:00she's cut from probably two
- 10:04inches above the knee to a
- 10:06lot more below the knee uh
- 10:08probably four or five inches below
- 10:12and uh and it's all stapled
- 10:14up uh we take the bandages
- 10:16off tomorrow and then we
- 10:18redress it and unless it's
- 10:22done leaking if it's done
- 10:23leaking then she's we just
- 10:25give it open air but uh yep um
- 10:33Ken Walters,
- 10:34always the man of interesting facts.
- 10:37My wife had the first
- 10:38robotic knee surgery as a
- 10:39trial ten years ago.
- 10:40She was back to her job in
- 10:42forty eight hours.
- 10:43Local local news did a before,
- 10:46during and after filming it.
- 10:50I'm assuming it was like not
- 10:52the total replacement surgery, though.
- 10:54His total replacement,
- 10:57they like they cut the bone.
- 11:00then and attach the then the
- 11:01metal to the existing part
- 11:03of the bone and some of the
- 11:06video you see like a hammer
- 11:07just hammer and chill just
- 11:14beating on it goodness so
- 11:19I'm just reading birch's
- 11:20car happens to me every
- 11:22time I wear these sweats
- 11:23usually that I have metal
- 11:24keepers on the waistband
- 11:26strings I always get wanded
- 11:30I used to always get the pat down.
- 11:34So when I went from like
- 11:36five hundred pounds to two, whatever,
- 11:40I had all this like extra skin.
- 11:44And every time I'd go through the detector,
- 11:49I'd get pulled aside and
- 11:49get the pat down.
- 11:53Well, you carried underneath there.
- 11:55Nothing I wasn't born with.
- 11:57One time I got pulled into the back room.
- 12:01get out of here yeah it was
- 12:02never had that it sucked
- 12:03man and then I told my wife
- 12:06that um antonio and I are
- 12:08now married um yeah sorry
- 12:14uh he did things to me that
- 12:15we haven't done in years
- 12:17it's amazing how that works
- 12:19um seeing I get I don't do that I got
- 12:23wanted, but it was,
- 12:24and like trying to figure
- 12:25out what I had on me.
- 12:25Like I don't think it was in my pockets.
- 12:27I don't know what it's picking up.
- 12:28And there's no part of me that's metal.
- 12:30So I don't know what that is.
- 12:31But then last year I was flying,
- 12:34actually flying the MFC last fall.
- 12:37And I took,
- 12:39I thought I had taken
- 12:40everything out of my bag
- 12:41that would have set it off.
- 12:42Like the metal types of my backpack.
- 12:45But at the time I still had my snips and,
- 12:50that I kept in there if I
- 12:51need to change my rope on my jump rope.
- 12:55And so like,
- 12:55I'm sitting there waiting for
- 12:56my bag and I see him pull
- 12:57it off to the side and I'm going,
- 13:00what the shit is that?
- 13:01Like, what's going on?
- 13:02Not thinking at all.
- 13:05Lady's looking through it.
- 13:07She's going through every
- 13:08single pocket trying to
- 13:09figure out where it's at
- 13:10because it's a big bear complex bag.
- 13:12It's got eight hundred pockets on it.
- 13:14And she finally, she pulls out the rope,
- 13:16my jump rope that I thought
- 13:18I had taken out
- 13:19Cause I wasn't going to need it.
- 13:20And I was like, ah, that's my jump rope.
- 13:23Sorry.
- 13:23And then she pulled out the
- 13:25snips and she goes, well, what is this?
- 13:27And I said,
- 13:27that's actually a tool tool to
- 13:29actually work on the jump rope that I,
- 13:32yeah, exactly.
- 13:33Exactly.
- 13:34Bomb making equipment.
- 13:36And then with the, if you look at it,
- 13:38cause it's all called up
- 13:39every time I pick it up.
- 13:40Right.
- 13:40So you look at that through
- 13:41a fricking X-raying like, yeah,
- 13:43it looks like I'm fixing to
- 13:43do some dumb shit.
- 13:46Yeah.
- 13:47She put them back in my bag
- 13:49and sent me on my way.
- 13:51The rope and the cutters.
- 13:53I said, yeah, that's the tool.
- 13:55If the rope breaks,
- 13:56I need it to cut the cable
- 13:59and put anyone on.
- 14:00And she just kind of giggled.
- 14:01She's like, I put it back in the bag,
- 14:03zipped it back up for me,
- 14:05handed me my bag and went
- 14:07on down to the terminal.
- 14:10Back in the day, man,
- 14:11I always had blender
- 14:12bottles in my bag for protein shakes,
- 14:16for whatever I was doing at the time,
- 14:19right?
- 14:19And those spring balls said
- 14:23that they didn't know what
- 14:24to do when that first happened.
- 14:25I mean,
- 14:27I got my bag pulled all the time
- 14:29for those spring balls in
- 14:30the blender bottles.
- 14:33It's as non-dangerous as you
- 14:34could possibly imagine, right?
- 14:36Yeah.
- 14:39All right, man.
- 14:39So I want to get your opinion on this.
- 14:41Yesterday I was at the
- 14:42surgery center pulling up
- 14:44my Instagram and I see this
- 14:47and I know other people are
- 14:48talking about it now.
- 14:49Corey told me before we went live,
- 14:51but I have not been on
- 14:52anything CrossFit in twenty four hours.
- 14:55So I don't know what people have said,
- 14:58but I think this is it here.
- 15:03Yeah.
- 15:06Matt Torres sent an open
- 15:07letter to CrossFit athletes
- 15:09who competed in the online
- 15:10semifinal event.
- 15:16Starts off great.
- 15:18And listen,
- 15:19Matt's one of the best coaches
- 15:20in the business.
- 15:21His athletes are so successful.
- 15:23So successful.
- 15:25But this past weekend,
- 15:26you put it all on the line, your hopes,
- 15:27your dreams, months of relentless work,
- 15:29all condensed into five
- 15:30challenging workouts.
- 15:31When it was over,
- 15:32the questions started creeping in.
- 15:33Was it enough?
- 15:34Should I have trained differently?
- 15:35Did I execute the right strategy?
- 15:37Am I good enough?
- 15:41Then just when you thought
- 15:42the hard part was over,
- 15:44now comes public scrutiny,
- 15:45the noise from those who
- 15:46don't understand the fans
- 15:47that became critics,
- 15:48but also cheer when you win
- 15:50and swiftly turn on you on
- 15:52it for a cheap laugh or a
- 15:53moment of attention.
- 15:54CrossFit tried to create a
- 15:55system of public judging
- 15:57that is supposed to be helpful,
- 15:58but instead it's become a
- 15:59playground for people to
- 16:00behind keyboards and mics.
- 16:02Those people are quick to
- 16:03criticize with zero
- 16:04accountability and say that
- 16:05it's the best of the sport.
- 16:09But here's the truth.
- 16:10You guys get so effortlessly
- 16:12judged and you keep showing up.
- 16:14You're taking the mental and
- 16:15emotional beating and you're still...
- 16:17you still walk back into
- 16:18work to get better.
- 16:20You don't get to hide behind
- 16:21a screen or a microphone.
- 16:22You stand in the fire exposed and real.
- 16:25Here's what I know.
- 16:26You don't owe those voices a
- 16:28single second of your energy.
- 16:30Lean on the people who are
- 16:31truly in your corner,
- 16:32the ones who have seen the
- 16:33tears after the toughest days,
- 16:35the ones who've pushed you
- 16:37to get back up and when you
- 16:39wanted to quit,
- 16:39the ones who tell you the
- 16:41hard truth because they believe in you.
- 16:43This sport isn't just about
- 16:45who is the fittest.
- 16:46It's about showing up when it's hard,
- 16:48when it hurts,
- 16:48and when things don't go your way.
- 16:50You accomplished a lot this weekend.
- 16:52Hold your head high.
- 16:53The work continues.
- 16:54Matt Torres.
- 16:57So, first of all,
- 16:59Masters athletes already
- 17:00went through this process, right?
- 17:04And they didn't have the comment section,
- 17:06so it was real freewheeling
- 17:09on the Masters side.
- 17:10It was the straight-up Wild West, dude.
- 17:15What I want to say is,
- 17:17if you want to be a professional athlete,
- 17:21you are going to be judged.
- 17:25When I watch a Chicago Bears game,
- 17:27and my number one wide
- 17:28receiver drops the ball in the end zone,
- 17:31damn well I'm going to be
- 17:32bitching at him through the TV.
- 17:35I might say something on Twitter.
- 17:38I might say something on
- 17:39Instagram about how poorly
- 17:40that guy played.
- 17:42You...
- 17:43in eighty million bears fans
- 17:46right it happens in hockey
- 17:51it happens in baseball it
- 17:53happens in tennis it
- 17:54happens in golf how many
- 17:57meltdowns have you seen on
- 17:58the eighteenth hole of a
- 17:59golf tournament and then
- 18:01that person is on sports
- 18:02center for a week
- 18:04Scott, I am a huge soccer fan.
- 18:08Huge, huge soccer fan.
- 18:10They will make up a song and
- 18:13sing a song about you to
- 18:15you while you're still on
- 18:17the field if you do some dumb stuff.
- 18:21I've seen it happen.
- 18:24When did professional
- 18:27athletes become so soft?
- 18:29Social media.
- 18:31Period.
- 18:32He knows that there's a real
- 18:33easy solution.
- 18:35Turn it off.
- 18:37Or be Justin or be Matt and
- 18:40keep a file of everything
- 18:42that was said about you.
- 18:43Make it be the fire that makes you better.
- 18:45I understand.
- 18:48Before social media,
- 18:50Michael Jordan used to make
- 18:51up stories in his head
- 18:53about somebody that said
- 18:54something about him or
- 18:56about his mama or about
- 18:58whatever was going on in the meantime.
- 19:01That's a thing that happened.
- 19:03Yeah.
- 19:04To try to,
- 19:05to try to generate something
- 19:07like to make an emotional response,
- 19:08to make him better on the field,
- 19:11on the court.
- 19:11Excuse me.
- 19:12The fact of the matter is
- 19:14there are standards that
- 19:16are being implemented
- 19:17At least take into the line,
- 19:19if not trying to get over the line,
- 19:22to be as competitive as you can be.
- 19:25And if you're going to waver on that line,
- 19:29then you've got to be
- 19:30willing to take the
- 19:31criticism when you don't
- 19:32meet the standard.
- 19:34Every time.
- 19:38It just...
- 19:39I saw this yesterday and it
- 19:40just pissed me off.
- 19:42That's what sports is about.
- 19:44That's why these other
- 19:45sports are popular because
- 19:47people talk about them all week long.
- 19:54If an NFL team screws up, listen,
- 19:57the Bears screwed up a lot last year.
- 20:00The botched
- 20:02Hail Mary, the blocked extra or field goal,
- 20:06all the stuff that they messed up,
- 20:07that got talked about for
- 20:08seven days afterwards.
- 20:11But that's why the sport's popular.
- 20:13That's why there's eighteen
- 20:15shows on the Chicago Bears, plus ESPN,
- 20:18plus Fox Sports.
- 20:20They're still talking about
- 20:24Seattle not running the ball.
- 20:27And that was, what, six, seven years ago?
- 20:32Yeah.
- 20:34Like people are still.
- 20:35It's probably like ten, fifteen years ago.
- 20:38We get old.
- 20:39But you know what I'm saying?
- 20:41They're still talking about
- 20:42stuff like that today.
- 20:44Yeah.
- 20:47And it's you're going to get
- 20:49criticized no matter what
- 20:52about whatever goes on.
- 20:55Period.
- 20:56End of story.
- 20:59It doesn't matter if you're
- 21:01a professional athlete.
- 21:02If you're just at your job,
- 21:04your regular everyday job,
- 21:07not being a professional athlete,
- 21:09if you do something stupid,
- 21:11somebody's going to call you out on it.
- 21:13If you do something right,
- 21:15somebody might still call
- 21:16you out on it because they
- 21:17didn't think it was right enough.
- 21:20It's a fact of life.
- 21:21Let's go down through some
- 21:22of these comments.
- 21:23D. Reed,
- 21:23considering CrossFit has certified
- 21:25judges to look at videos online,
- 21:27it's not surprising that
- 21:28judges judge the videos.
- 21:30Good point.
- 21:35In the simplest terms,
- 21:37the judges are judging.
- 21:39Yeah,
- 21:39it's like... Welcome to being called
- 21:43a professional athlete.
- 21:44Talk to anyone.
- 21:45Exactly.
- 21:47Aaron Frazier,
- 21:48those closest to you should
- 21:50be the ones that challenge
- 21:51you and hold you accountable.
- 21:54I cannot stress that part enough.
- 21:57When I do anything online
- 22:00that requires like the last two years,
- 22:04you know,
- 22:04semifinal type stuff and whatnot,
- 22:06I know that the people that
- 22:08are judging me in person
- 22:10are there to hold me to the standards.
- 22:14To make sure.
- 22:15In everyday class,
- 22:17if you're not meeting the
- 22:18standard of a movement,
- 22:19your coach should be the one telling you,
- 22:21you are not doing it right.
- 22:23Yeah.
- 22:24You need to do better.
- 22:26And I've even had a coach, which is,
- 22:28I actually found this awesome, not, ooh.
- 22:32But anyway,
- 22:33take a video of me not doing it
- 22:35right to point out to me, see,
- 22:37this is where your hip crease is.
- 22:38This is where it needs to be.
- 22:40Yeah.
- 22:43Last Saturday,
- 22:44I was coaching a friend of
- 22:45mine for Saturday morning class.
- 22:49And he thanked me when he
- 22:50was done because he was doing thrusters.
- 22:52And I was like, hey, man,
- 22:53I need you to slow down
- 22:54because the first two,
- 22:55you are riding that line.
- 22:58And then once you kind of
- 22:59get into your rhythm,
- 22:59you actually go all the way
- 23:00down and come back up.
- 23:03Afterwards, he was like, thank you.
- 23:05He said, once I made the correction,
- 23:08I said, first of all, your feet got flat.
- 23:09Now you're not on your toes.
- 23:11He said, yeah.
- 23:12I felt like my ass was
- 23:13dragging the ground on the
- 23:15bottom of every squat.
- 23:16I was like, well, yeah.
- 23:18Because it was.
- 23:18Because you were actually
- 23:19doing it correctly.
- 23:21Andrew Sten says,
- 23:22soccer fans are the best.
- 23:24Love soccer chants during games.
- 23:26By the way, welcome to Wrexham.
- 23:28Season four is coming out in a week.
- 23:32That story is absolutely
- 23:35something off of the FIFA
- 23:36video game that they've
- 23:37been promoted in like, what is it?
- 23:39Three consecutive years.
- 23:41Don't say any spoilers, man.
- 23:44And that part, no,
- 23:44that part of it's on that
- 23:46part of it's everywhere.
- 23:47It's like part of the story now.
- 23:51D Reed says do not
- 23:52participate or do not
- 23:53participate in online
- 23:54events where you have to
- 23:55submit videos for the public to judge.
- 23:57Yeah.
- 23:58Don't play.
- 23:59Scott, I told you,
- 24:01one of my goals for this
- 24:03past CrossFit season was to
- 24:05not end up on a Hillary video.
- 24:06Period.
- 24:10I did not want to go log into my YouTube,
- 24:12look at my videos,
- 24:13and see bats in the comment section.
- 24:17We say that, but we're such a niche sport.
- 24:22It's such a small amount of
- 24:23the population that even sees those.
- 24:27Talk about an NFL player or
- 24:29a Major League Baseball
- 24:29player or a soccer player
- 24:31making the not top ten on ESPN.
- 24:33They take the ten best
- 24:36screw-ups of the week and
- 24:38make a top ten list.
- 24:39And everybody loves it.
- 24:43Yeah.
- 24:44And I am willing to bet that
- 24:47most of those guys,
- 24:48if they do end up on a not top ten list,
- 24:51are probably laughing about
- 24:52it because they can look at
- 24:53it and look at themselves and go, yeah,
- 24:55that was ridiculous.
- 24:56I can't believe I did that.
- 24:58Or, yeah, that was funny.
- 25:02Ken Walters, if you're an elite athlete,
- 25:04even identified as at a young age,
- 25:06someone always wants you to
- 25:08fail or critique you.
- 25:09It was the hardest thing we
- 25:10had to do as parents during
- 25:11our son's success in his hockey career.
- 25:14would take it a step further
- 25:15I when my daughter played
- 25:18soccer at eight there were
- 25:21parents yelling from the
- 25:23sidelines like it is just
- 25:26american sports at and I
- 25:29think it's even crazier in
- 25:30europe um if you look at
- 25:33the the things that happen
- 25:35um in the soccer matches
- 25:37over there but like
- 25:42People,
- 25:43the parents are the worst in youth
- 25:45sports at judging others
- 25:48and yelling and screaming
- 25:49from the sidelines.
- 25:54So my daughter played travel
- 25:57golf three years and or two
- 25:58years rather and played at
- 26:01her high school all four years.
- 26:03And after the first year,
- 26:05I went into it assuming that.
- 26:07which is probably a bad
- 26:08assumption on my fault,
- 26:10that if you're a parent and
- 26:13your kid has been doing something,
- 26:15this activity, a sport,
- 26:17for like once you get to high school,
- 26:21it's probably been, you know, ten,
- 26:23twelve years at that point,
- 26:24that you would know
- 26:25something about the sport.
- 26:29And I was horribly wrong
- 26:33when it came to that
- 26:33because they don't know
- 26:36they don't they just don't
- 26:37they don't know they don't
- 26:37understand how the game
- 26:38works they don't and this
- 26:42was soccer specific right
- 26:43so I'm sitting there and
- 26:45I'm hearing these parents
- 26:46just yell yeah kick the
- 26:47ball well yeah of course
- 26:49kick the ball it's soccer
- 26:50you should be kicking the
- 26:50ball you use your hand
- 26:52that's probably a bad idea
- 26:53but that's all they know they just think
- 26:55kick it up and then
- 26:57somebody's gonna take a
- 26:57shot and that's not how it works.
- 26:59Like that's, there's,
- 27:00it's so much more than that.
- 27:02So like after Simone's freshman year,
- 27:05I had to, and me and my now ex wife,
- 27:08like we had, we had a whole,
- 27:09we had a whole ass
- 27:10conversation where I just went,
- 27:12would go and sit by myself
- 27:14for the most part during her games,
- 27:16because I couldn't stand the parents.
- 27:18Yep.
- 27:21Like it, it, it drove me that insane.
- 27:25How about Spike Lee and
- 27:26Reggie Miller did it during a game?
- 27:29Yeah.
- 27:38I think people in CrossFit
- 27:39think it should be
- 27:40different because the
- 27:40athletes are much closer to
- 27:41regular people in the gym.
- 27:43People can relate to them
- 27:44more than professional
- 27:45athletes in other sports.
- 27:47I think we're getting away from that.
- 27:49These athletes don't train
- 27:51in a community gym anymore.
- 27:53They're training in their garages.
- 27:54They're training in their own facilities.
- 27:57It's getting just like I can
- 27:59go out and throw the
- 28:00football with Corey and I'm
- 28:02not Joe Montana.
- 28:03Right.
- 28:05Right.
- 28:05Like it, that it just isn't the same.
- 28:09Well, and even if they're at an affiliate,
- 28:11they're not in a class.
- 28:12They're not interacting with
- 28:14the average everyday CrossFitter, right?
- 28:16They're on the other side of the gym.
- 28:18They come in during off
- 28:19hours and do all their stuff,
- 28:21whatever it is,
- 28:22because they don't want to
- 28:22be distracted by the people in the class.
- 28:24Like, you can't get fitter in a class.
- 28:26It's such a false logic.
- 28:29Like,
- 28:32I am one of the fitter people at my gym.
- 28:35and I make it a point to go
- 28:36get in class at least once
- 28:38a week sometimes twice
- 28:40depending on what I got
- 28:41going on because I love my
- 28:43community and I want to go
- 28:44in there and I am pushed
- 28:46when somebody's in there
- 28:47with me like I want to beat
- 28:49everybody I want to beat
- 28:50everybody in class I want
- 28:51to go as far as I can well
- 28:52it's kind of hard to do
- 28:53that by myself sometimes
- 28:55doing my own programming so
- 28:56I'll go get in class I was
- 28:58in class monday afternoon
- 28:59as a matter of fact
- 29:01And going against some, you know,
- 29:02some other people that are
- 29:03in there and just trying to be, you know,
- 29:07trying to push on myself
- 29:09because there's other people in there.
- 29:10Hey, I want to beat all these dudes.
- 29:11I want to beat the pants off of them.
- 29:13And to think that you can't
- 29:16go take a class because you're elite,
- 29:18because it's somehow going
- 29:19to interrupt your training
- 29:21is absolute bananas to me.
- 29:23Like, I don't understand that.
- 29:25I understand you need to do extra that.
- 29:27Of course you do.
- 29:28And you probably need a
- 29:30coach and you need your own
- 29:31program and whatnot.
- 29:31But to not be a part of your
- 29:33community or any community
- 29:36and then wonder why you're so soft.
- 29:39Like,
- 29:39I think the two things go hand in hand.
- 29:42Not to change the subject too much.
- 29:43And we'll come back to this whole topic.
- 29:46But did you see The
- 29:47Unbreakable with Trista
- 29:48Smith and Nick Matthew?
- 29:50No, I did not.
- 29:51I haven't watched any of those.
- 29:53So I'm terrible at grading
- 29:55these things because I'm
- 29:55very picky about what I
- 29:57want in my CrossFit content.
- 29:59But in that video,
- 30:01and I'll talk about that
- 30:01video later this week and
- 30:03my thoughts on it, but in that video,
- 30:05Nick Matthew talks about he
- 30:07doesn't like to work out alone anymore.
- 30:08He wants to work out with the class.
- 30:10So he takes his programming,
- 30:12and because he's the
- 30:12general manager of his gym
- 30:15and he does the programming,
- 30:16he puts his pieces into the
- 30:18class workout.
- 30:19So he works out with the
- 30:20classes and then do his
- 30:23accessory work on the side.
- 30:25But that way he gets to work
- 30:26out with the class every day.
- 30:30How awesome is that?
- 30:32If I dropped into Nick
- 30:33Matthews' gym and I am now
- 30:36having to be in the class
- 30:37that he's not coaching,
- 30:38that he's actually in, hell yes,
- 30:40I'm going against Nick Matthews.
- 30:41Let's go.
- 30:41Let's see what happens.
- 30:43I mean, when Christian jumped in with us,
- 30:45the class got really pumped up, man.
- 30:49Now,
- 30:49she was done with her workout like
- 30:51twenty minutes before we were,
- 30:52but for those ten minutes,
- 30:55it was really cool.
- 30:57Yeah.
- 30:58You get to see somebody who
- 31:01is miles above your ability
- 31:03level just smashing the same,
- 31:06doing the same thing you are,
- 31:08which is what drove us to
- 31:09being competitors in the first place.
- 31:11Right.
- 31:12Seeing guys do stuff that
- 31:13you didn't think was
- 31:14necessarily possible or
- 31:15just outside of the realm
- 31:17of the norm for damn sure.
- 31:21Andrew Sten says,
- 31:22I'm hoping to go to a
- 31:23Wrexham game when I'm over
- 31:24there for Rogue this year.
- 31:25And Jody Lynn says, good goal.
- 31:28No, it's this, Jody.
- 31:29Good goal!
- 31:34You need some more O's and A's.
- 31:38A bunch of L's.
- 31:40Yeah,
- 31:40parents try to live vicariously
- 31:43through their children.
- 31:44Yeah.
- 31:47Yeah.
- 31:49and most parents are
- 31:51delusional on how good
- 31:52actually bad their kids are
- 31:54in sports um what what I'll
- 31:59say is and it's kind of
- 32:01this is kind of in the
- 32:03subtext of all that's going
- 32:04on in the chat is I've
- 32:06brought up that like this
- 32:08full swing on netflix and
- 32:10how it is doing promoting
- 32:12the pga tour and it's
- 32:14because the golfers are
- 32:16letting netflix show their warts
- 32:20When I see a letter like this,
- 32:22that's never going to
- 32:22happen in the CrossFit
- 32:23space because they don't
- 32:25want anybody to see
- 32:26anything bad that's going
- 32:28on in their life.
- 32:30And that's one of my
- 32:30criticisms with this unbreakable thing,
- 32:32and I guess I'm – is you
- 32:34have Nick Matthew, who's a single dad,
- 32:37working full-time as a GM for a gym,
- 32:41and he's a full-time athlete.
- 32:44I want to know how do you
- 32:45balance being a single dad –
- 32:48with those other
- 32:48responsibilities and show
- 32:51me like running your daughter to school,
- 32:55how you have to pick her up after school,
- 32:57how you have to do none of
- 32:59that got shown.
- 33:02That's to me what makes it
- 33:04relatable and more human.
- 33:06And all they did was they
- 33:07kind of focused on the
- 33:09qualifier workouts for WFP.
- 33:13I've seen that before.
- 33:15Yeah.
- 33:16And I'm not saying it wasn't done well.
- 33:18I mean, it was well produced.
- 33:22It told a story.
- 33:24I don't think it's the lead
- 33:25story that I wanted to know about,
- 33:28but... I would go back to the...
- 33:34Oh,
- 33:34Fittest in History documentary about
- 33:36Rich winning four in a row
- 33:38when they showed them going
- 33:39through the adoption phase,
- 33:41like trying to get, you know,
- 33:44his daughter for the first
- 33:45time and picking them up
- 33:46and like all of that stuff.
- 33:48Right.
- 33:48Not just, hey, he's winning.
- 33:50Here's him training, montage, blah, blah,
- 33:52whatever.
- 33:52Like that's a well-produced documentary.
- 33:57show.
- 33:58He's a kid at heart.
- 33:59They showed him on the four
- 34:01runners and blowing stuff
- 34:03up in his backyard and
- 34:05doing all the stuff like a
- 34:06twelve-year-old would do to
- 34:09make him more relatable as a human.
- 34:10I don't need to see all the
- 34:11barn footage over and over again.
- 34:16There's a road to the games
- 34:17that I just... One quote,
- 34:21he said that it was him, Matt...
- 34:26I want to say Dan Bailey,
- 34:27a couple of whoever other people.
- 34:29And at one point he go, all right,
- 34:31let's go do some bench press.
- 34:32So everybody can see how bad we are at it.
- 34:36That line just in,
- 34:37in and of itself right there.
- 34:38Like, yep.
- 34:39I want to watch more of this dude.
- 34:40Like,
- 34:40because he's saying stuff that I
- 34:42would say that's let's just
- 34:43go see how terrible we actually are.
- 34:46Ken Walter says Nick's gym
- 34:47is here in Minnesota.
- 34:48I can vouch whenever I have been there,
- 34:51he works out with the classes.
- 34:53That's really cool.
- 34:56And he also says,
- 34:56my strength coach also
- 34:58trains and coaches at Nick's Box.
- 35:05Jay Birch says,
- 35:06I haven't seen any of those WFP videos.
- 35:08Are they good?
- 35:09The Laura Horvat one is awesome.
- 35:12It is one of the best pieces
- 35:14of content I've seen in a long time.
- 35:16The Adler one is very good.
- 35:21And then this one,
- 35:24I don't think it's their best work.
- 35:25I think of the three that are out,
- 35:27the long-form documentary videos,
- 35:30this one falls a little bit
- 35:32behind the other two.
- 35:33But the Laura one went where
- 35:35nobody else has gone before.
- 35:37They went back to her childhood schools.
- 35:39They showed the sports she
- 35:41played and why she got into
- 35:43rock climbing and all of
- 35:46that kind of stuff.
- 35:46It was really, really cool.
- 35:49Speaking of Adler, did you see...
- 35:53his tongue for heavy as well.
- 35:58It's insane.
- 35:59And then Olivia Kerstetter said,
- 36:00hold my beer.
- 36:02Yeah.
- 36:02Well, that was going to happen.
- 36:08Um,
- 36:10Yeah, Kenneth says,
- 36:11I watched the Adler one
- 36:12before it got taken down for copyright.
- 36:14They changed it up, I guess.
- 36:17And so it had more like of
- 36:18him hanging out with Carolyn in the gym,
- 36:21training and talking more
- 36:23because they weren't
- 36:24allowed to use the CrossFit footage.
- 36:27So I think I didn't get to
- 36:30see the original,
- 36:31but I heard it was a little
- 36:32bit more storytelling oriented.
- 36:34the laura one though is like
- 36:36what I want my documentary
- 36:38to be it is a throwback to
- 36:40the road to the games era
- 36:43oh speaking of did you see
- 36:45that they're doing road to
- 36:48the games this year I did
- 36:50not see that crossfit media
- 36:52is doing road to the games
- 36:53this year okay we'll see
- 36:58I reserve judgment,
- 36:59just like I see the storytelling, though.
- 37:03I don't want like workout porn.
- 37:05I want storytelling.
- 37:06I'm with you.
- 37:07I am cautiously optimistic
- 37:10just because of the content
- 37:11that they've been putting
- 37:12out here lately and how
- 37:13good it's actually been.
- 37:15So I'm with you, a hundred percent.
- 37:17I get it.
- 37:17Like, I'm the same way.
- 37:19I don't just want to see, you know,
- 37:22Brooke Wells doing
- 37:23muscle-ups or whatever.
- 37:24Like, I don't really care about that.
- 37:26We know she can do that.
- 37:27That's fine.
- 37:28I want to see, like, the old ones were,
- 37:31you know, at their house in the morning,
- 37:33making breakfast,
- 37:34and they're talking about
- 37:35how bad they're hurting,
- 37:36whatever the case may be.
- 37:38I want to see an actual story.
- 37:40But I'm just excited that
- 37:41they're even doing it at this point.
- 37:44Because there's a void, right,
- 37:46between now and then.
- 37:48You're going to have WFP stuff.
- 37:50You're going to have a
- 37:50couple of comps and whatnot
- 37:51in between here and there.
- 37:52But for the most part,
- 37:53there's not going to be a
- 37:54whole lot of stuff to put
- 37:55out CrossFit-wise,
- 37:57like straight CrossFit-wise.
- 37:58So good for them for, you know what,
- 38:00let's do it again and see what we can do.
- 38:03The lower one goes to her hometown.
- 38:07Kristoff is a big part of it.
- 38:09and I think that that made
- 38:10her more comfortable and
- 38:11more open to talk about
- 38:12things and kristen added um
- 38:16details to the stories
- 38:18because he was the older
- 38:19brother during the times
- 38:20most of the stuff was going
- 38:21on um it had the
- 38:24storytelling that I want to
- 38:25see so much um that that's
- 38:29all and I don't care who
- 38:31puts it out um I just I've
- 38:38The best example in the chat
- 38:39that I've seen is Colton
- 38:41lets everybody in on everything, right?
- 38:43And because of that,
- 38:44he's the most popular
- 38:46athlete in the sport right now.
- 38:50And it's not because he wins.
- 38:52It's because, and I haven't seen it yet,
- 38:57from what I hear,
- 38:59he actually made the Tia...
- 39:02channel exciting to watch.
- 39:05I have not seen it either,
- 39:06but you're the second
- 39:09person I've heard to say that.
- 39:10He made that fun to watch.
- 39:12Again, I have not watched it.
- 39:13I have not given my... This
- 39:15is not the Scott rating of that video.
- 39:18I've just read that it made
- 39:20it interesting because...
- 39:23basically Tia says I know
- 39:24you're the king of talking
- 39:26and we're gonna go at it
- 39:28and and then someone said
- 39:30that Tia and Tim Paulson
- 39:31had the same hairdo and I
- 39:33have seen that clip is
- 39:43Colton obsessed so I don't
- 39:44he said he watched it and
- 39:45didn't get enough Colton
- 39:51but it's Colton obsessed.
- 39:53Yes.
- 39:54I'm not sure.
- 39:55I'm not good.
- 39:56That's going to be stuck in
- 39:57my head for the rest of the
- 39:59week at this point.
- 40:00I didn't realize that
- 40:01Paulson got his haircut.
- 40:04He got long hair chopped.
- 40:06So he has the, he has the mom do.
- 40:14That's fantastic.
- 40:16That is absolutely fantastic.
- 40:18Now,
- 40:18that is enough reason for me to go
- 40:20watch right there.
- 40:21A hundred percent, just to go see that.
- 40:25Yeah,
- 40:25I'll watch that this afternoon and
- 40:28kind of give my take on it tomorrow.
- 40:33And I love Tim Paulson.
- 40:34Like, Paulson is just,
- 40:35he never takes himself seriously.
- 40:37No, which is why he's awesome.
- 40:40Yeah.
- 40:42Speaking of...
- 40:43this is going to be a little
- 40:44bit off topic as well but I
- 40:45got I got it stuck in my
- 40:46head now um did you have a
- 40:48chance to watch dave's
- 40:49weekend review I did I
- 40:51actually have it on my list
- 40:52okay okay good good did you
- 40:55see that he said that they
- 40:56are talking about in-person
- 40:59qualifying events for
- 41:00masters next year I did
- 41:03that he has some partners
- 41:04wanting to do those yeah I would
- 41:08I don't normally go comment on those,
- 41:10but I went ahead and
- 41:11commented on that to see if
- 41:12I could get him to say
- 41:13something about it on his
- 41:15next week's weekend review.
- 41:18Did you also see him admit
- 41:19that the teams didn't
- 41:21really get video reviewed
- 41:23and it's just an experiment
- 41:24they were doing?
- 41:25A hundred percent.
- 41:28Why would you even say that?
- 41:30Because he's Dave and he
- 41:32doesn't give a shit.
- 41:35I heard that and I was like,
- 41:36what the hell are you talking about?
- 41:38Like, why?
- 41:39The only,
- 41:43he's the only dude I know that
- 41:45can say something like that.
- 41:47And just,
- 41:48and like as nonchalant as humanly
- 41:50possible.
- 41:50It was like, yeah,
- 41:51it was more of an
- 41:52experiment than anything else.
- 41:53We looked at the top list,
- 41:54figured those are the right
- 41:55people that were supposed to get there.
- 41:56And we just let it, we just let it roll.
- 41:59And I was – I had it on
- 42:02driving home yesterday,
- 42:03like that last part of it
- 42:05where he said – or whatever
- 42:06part it was when he said that.
- 42:07I put it in my Jeep,
- 42:08and I was at a red light,
- 42:09and I stopped and actually looked.
- 42:13And I was like, he,
- 42:14he really just said that
- 42:15out loud where other people
- 42:16could hear it.
- 42:17Like he didn't, he'd use the.
- 42:19And he said it after Hillard
- 42:20already put out video
- 42:21showing that people didn't
- 42:23meet the standards.
- 42:24Yes.
- 42:25And if I made today CrossFit, I've, I'm,
- 42:28I've lost my mind.
- 42:30Oh, I'm screaming at this point.
- 42:32Yeah.
- 42:33Screaming at this point.
- 42:36Sitting one point out of twentieth place.
- 42:39And you did no video review.
- 42:43And knowing that there's
- 42:44people that's inside there
- 42:45that didn't measure stuff,
- 42:48didn't do stuff to standard
- 42:49or whatever the case may be.
- 42:54So, I mean, it's a bold strategy, cotton.
- 43:03The teams didn't have video review.
- 43:05They didn't have to post
- 43:06their videos and they
- 43:08didn't do a video review.
- 43:11And they just let the scores go forward.
- 43:13I am just dumbfounded.
- 43:19At least in the past,
- 43:20they faked like they did video review.
- 43:23Right.
- 43:30I know what I say, our team,
- 43:33the email company team,
- 43:34I know what links that they
- 43:36went through to make sure
- 43:39that everything they did was on point.
- 43:45So like to, for them to do all that,
- 43:48make sure to go through all
- 43:48the extra steps, get the extra judges,
- 43:50get the, I mean,
- 43:51Brandon ran with them on
- 43:53the eight hundred holding a
- 43:54camera to make sure that, you know,
- 43:57went above and beyond and
- 43:58then nobody ever looked at it.
- 44:01Aaron Frazier corrects me.
- 44:02Thank you, Aaron, for that.
- 44:06eighth eighth days and
- 44:07twentieth mayhem
- 44:08hendersonville is one out
- 44:09at twenty one uh so yeah I
- 44:16know I I I've gotten to be
- 44:21not not close but closer
- 44:22with the eighth day crew
- 44:23because uh it's close to
- 44:25where jamie lives um and
- 44:27when I've gone up there for
- 44:28some comps um that crew
- 44:30compete at those competitions um
- 44:36so yeah um just a little bit
- 44:39closer with them um and we
- 44:41always watch them jamie
- 44:42always wants to be out
- 44:43there when they're going so
- 44:46but yeah um that's about
- 44:51all I have for today man
- 44:54that was a lot um like we
- 44:56covered a bunch of ground
- 44:57the only thing I've left is
- 44:58just a personal thing um
- 45:01while my wife was sleeping
- 45:02yesterday after her surgery
- 45:04I worked on my my delorean
- 45:08And added a light kit.
- 45:13It actually has sound and light.
- 45:28Fantastic.
- 45:29Fantastic.
- 45:36I didn't realize it had the hook on it.
- 45:40Yep.
- 45:41Yeah,
- 45:41you can make it either that one or
- 45:43the one with Mr. Fusion on the back.
- 45:45Yeah.
- 45:46Or the original with the plutonium.
- 45:49With just the regular plutonium, yeah.
- 45:51Yeah.
- 45:52But it actually, like,
- 45:53the sound effects make it,
- 45:54when it hits ADA, this turns blue.
- 45:56There it goes.
- 45:57Yep.
- 45:58And then everything starts blinking,
- 46:01and it goes back in time.
- 46:07But yeah,
- 46:08it was so much harder to do the
- 46:09light kit than it was to build the car.
- 46:14And the lights that I'm
- 46:14putting in there are like a
- 46:17millimeter wide.
- 46:20So you put in like tweezers?
- 46:23Yeah, I use tweezers for the whole thing.
- 46:26Yeah.
- 46:26Now, like the blue underneath there,
- 46:29that's a replacement brick.
- 46:31It is a clear brick that the
- 46:32LEDs are already in it and
- 46:35you just replace what's there.
- 46:37But like the headlights,
- 46:38I had to insert the LED
- 46:40into the glass bricks that are there.
- 46:44Did you have to take it
- 46:45apart to then put the stuff
- 46:46in and put it back together?
- 46:49Let me tell you something.
- 46:50You got way more patients
- 46:52than I've ever had in forty
- 46:55eight years because there's
- 46:56no way I've started several
- 46:58models like when I was a
- 46:59kid because I love I'm a huge car guy.
- 47:03And I probably finished three of them.
- 47:06I built one airplane, a B-B.
- 47:10I built a fifty.
- 47:14What is it?
- 47:15It was a first year vet.
- 47:17Fifty six.
- 47:17Something like that.
- 47:18Yeah, somewhere there.
- 47:21Built one of those.
- 47:22And then, like, I think I did, like,
- 47:23a Lamborghini at one point
- 47:25or something like that.
- 47:26But I could, I had no patience.
- 47:28So, like, and it was glued together stuff.
- 47:31So, like.
- 47:32Yep.
- 47:33And then try to not get glue everywhere.
- 47:36Nope.
- 47:36So, for you to go in there and be like, oh,
- 47:37yeah, I know these.
- 47:38I got these LEDs that you can hardly see.
- 47:42Put them in the headlight.
- 47:43Bless you for that, dude.
- 47:46No way.
- 47:46So this is a Lego.
- 47:48That is a Lego set.
- 47:51It is Legos.
- 47:52Calm me down.
- 47:53There's something about like
- 47:54clicking that the blocks
- 47:55together that just give me
- 47:57like this sense of peace.
- 47:58Right.
- 48:00And now the light kit was
- 48:03less a sense of peace than
- 48:05the building of the car.
- 48:06I will admit.
- 48:07Yeah, there was much more,
- 48:10much more cursing.
- 48:12And yeah,
- 48:14that putting it together but
- 48:15when it was done and it
- 48:17looked the way it did it
- 48:19was worth every bit of that
- 48:21um it was such a sense of
- 48:23accomplishment um the only
- 48:26kind of meticulous like
- 48:27that I can do that actually
- 48:29like gets me in that knot
- 48:33like you hand me like a
- 48:34ball of string that's just
- 48:35all tied up into in this
- 48:37Hey, Ron,
- 48:38I need you to make this back into
- 48:40one string.
- 48:41I'll sit there for two hours
- 48:42and just figuring out how
- 48:44everything's done and just
- 48:45undoing it and having to go
- 48:46back and redo it and whatnot.
- 48:48That is about it.
- 48:50But Legos,
- 48:52I used to build the shit out of
- 48:53Legos when I was a kid,
- 48:54but I made whatever I wanted to make.
- 48:56I didn't usually make what was in a box.
- 48:57I just built stuff.
- 48:59A whole different thing.
- 49:01So, like, if I have a lot of aggression,
- 49:04my calm down is to go lift
- 49:05a barbell or to throw a
- 49:07sandbag or whatever, right?
- 49:09But sometimes I just need that, like,
- 49:12that real touch kind of
- 49:15point in together.
- 49:17And it just, I don't know.
- 49:17That's it.
- 49:18It's a tactile thing that's
- 49:20making you focus at that point.
- 49:21Like,
- 49:21the rest of the world kind of drops away.
- 49:24The old glues together stuff
- 49:26made a whole generation of glue sniffers.
- 49:29True story.
- 49:30Definitely your own, yeah.
- 49:33Aaron asks, Scott,
- 49:34when do you eat lunch if
- 49:35you're here for your lunch?
- 49:37So I work from home.
- 49:38I just go upstairs and I eat
- 49:40at my desk as I go back,
- 49:43as long as I'm not in a meeting.
- 49:45And so I either just try to figure out,
- 49:48before I come down here or after,
- 49:49depending on my meeting schedules,
- 49:52and I just eat at my desk for that.
- 49:56So Jason Bourne,
- 49:58as you would guess Jason Bourne would do,
- 50:00would go to a gun range to calm down.
- 50:06Yeah.
- 50:06He also knows how fast he
- 50:07can run flat out at this
- 50:08elevation before his hands
- 50:10start to shake.
- 50:12One point twenty one gigawatts.
- 50:13That is right.
- 50:15Helping.
- 50:16That is flipping sweet.
- 50:17I knew he'd like it because
- 50:19his old Instagram handle
- 50:20used to be eighty eight miles per hour.
- 50:24Yeah, I think something like that.
- 50:29But yeah.
- 50:31Yeah.
- 50:31So I. My wife works from
- 50:36home and then she has
- 50:37dinner or lunch waiting for
- 50:38me when I go upstairs.
- 50:40But with her knee surgery,
- 50:41that ain't happening today.
- 50:43Probably not so much today, but generally.
- 50:47Yeah.
- 50:49So with that, guys, time for – oh,
- 50:51I didn't do a dart today.
- 50:52Nope.
- 50:57Yeah.
- 50:57Didn't even aim.
- 50:58Just tossed it.
- 50:59Missed low.
- 51:01Missed the board.
- 51:03Went into the wall.
- 51:06With that,
- 51:07it's time for you knuckleheads
- 51:08to get back to work.
- 51:09I need to go take care of my wife.
- 51:11With that,
- 51:11we will see everybody tomorrow
- 51:14on Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 51:15Bye, guys.
