- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today we are going to talk about relationships and how they
- 0:34relate to our well-being. You know, a lot of people have
- 0:37challenges with relationships. You know, dealing with other
- 0:42humans is hard. Let me just say this it it
- 0:45doesn't matter. Who you are, myself included in
- 0:48this dealing with other humans can be hard.
- 0:52And it. I mean it's just part of our
- 0:55growth. I mean, I am convinced that the
- 0:57universe and God do this to us, to put us out there to help us
- 1:00grow. I know that I every single point
- 1:04in my life where I have felt frustrated by other humans.
- 1:07When I have gotten out of my ass backwards, thinking in my head
- 1:11in the moment, I could pull it together and say, you know what?
- 1:14There's something in this even, you know every.
- 1:16Everyday life. Being in a couple.
- 1:18Being in a relationship with your children.
- 1:21Relationship with your dog. Your dog might be the one that
- 1:23irritates you. Your relationships with certain
- 1:27coworkers, whatever it is, they can.
- 1:31They bring us real joy or they can bring us real pain.
- 1:35But what they all bring to us is opportunities for learning and
- 1:40cultivating better things within ourselves.
- 1:42Because when we start to think about what they bring to us,
- 1:45when we start to actually say, OK, if I choose to move past
- 1:49anger and I get that character and that emotion out of the
- 1:53driver's seat and I say, OK, I'm going to put in my curiosity
- 1:58driver, I'm going to put. That driver there, because I
- 2:01know that that driver will ask the right questions.
- 2:03What can I take away from this? What is the thing that I need to
- 2:06learn the most in this so that I can be a better human and do a
- 2:11better job being a better human? So I know for a fact, and I love
- 2:16to use myself as an example because I'm my biggest worst
- 2:19enemy and my biggest. You know, a point of being able
- 2:23to teach you guys because I feel like we are all interconnected
- 2:27when it comes to this stuff. So I know my one of my biggest
- 2:31people in my life, one of the biggest pushes in my life is my
- 2:34husband because we are very different people.
- 2:37We are very, very different people and we have different
- 2:40points of view in the world. I don't agree.
- 2:43I'm. Absolutely proud to say to him,
- 2:45I disagree. I, you know, I have no problem
- 2:49being that person that says those things to him because I
- 2:52don't have to agree. I'm a grown woman and I can say
- 2:56I don't agree and I don't with a lot of his views, but there are
- 3:01a lot that I do agree with and I have to remind myself of that.
- 3:04I also have to remind myself of the fact that in relationships,
- 3:09I'm here to learn something. The relationships are here to
- 3:12teach us something. And with him, my biggest thing
- 3:15is that I have to recognize and I will stand by this 1000%.
- 3:21He teaches me ways to not be argumentative because I can't
- 3:27argue with him. When I argue with him, it never
- 3:29goes well. So rather than doing that, I
- 3:32have to change my approach, I have to try different
- 3:34strategies, I have to think differently, and I actually have
- 3:38to have patience. And I kid you not, when they
- 3:40handed out patience. Before I got here, I did not get
- 3:43in that line. I I did not get in that line.
- 3:47And I and there was a point in my life you guys have heard me
- 3:49talk about before. I like, you can't put a seed in
- 3:51the ground and dig it up to see where it is.
- 3:52But that was me. I did those things when I first
- 3:56started gardening. I remember standing there and
- 3:58sticking a toothpick down into the little seed things to see if
- 4:01the seed had stuck out its little hook root first.
- 4:04I'm like, oh, is it in there? Is it in there?
- 4:06Because I didn't have damn patience.
- 4:09I don't have patience in general, I cultivate them.
- 4:13My clients will say God, you have enduring patience with me.
- 4:16And I'm like, no, it's it's a cultivated skill and I use
- 4:20curiosity as my factor to help me past it because the
- 4:24relationships are supposed to teach us something, so.
- 4:29When you recognize this and when you can find that piece inside
- 4:33of you and say, you know what, this is more important than
- 4:35that. And it is more important to me
- 4:37to be the person that can always be up leveling myself.
- 4:40It's more important to me to be the person that says I'm pushing
- 4:43past everything. And you may have heard me say
- 4:46this before on the podcast, but my true definition of hell is
- 4:50when the person you are meets the person you could have been.
- 4:52And yes, you heard me say that correctly.
- 4:54My definition of hell is when the person you are meets the
- 4:58person you could have been that to me.
- 5:00I don't want to have that discussion with God.
- 5:01I don't want to have him say, well listen, I gave you all this
- 5:04stuff and then you did nothing. I mean, wow, that would be a
- 5:07horrible thing. I want my relationship with the
- 5:09universe and with God to be on point and I want to be able to
- 5:12know that I came here and not only did I play and use it all,
- 5:16but I used it at 150% because the relationships.
- 5:19Matter to me. So I'm going to allow the
- 5:22buttons to be pushed so that I can get rid of the buttons.
- 5:25It's not just about avoiding the buttons, it's about utilizing
- 5:29them so you know you can do better.
- 5:33So I hope this was helpful. I hope you go and look at your
- 5:35relationships and get real curious with them because
- 5:38they're here to help us. And I hope you have a blessed
- 5:40day and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
