- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:05Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Neil is off next week, starting Tuesday, because he's going
- 0:14Speaker 2: to have his circumcision redone and it'll be a little
- 0:17Speaker 2: bit of surgery. He's going to have trimmed up. I
- 0:21Speaker 2: understand that. Yeah, no, I get that, And so he'll
- 0:23Speaker 2: be gone for a few days doing his little procedure,
- 0:28Speaker 2: very little procedure. So usually you make fun of me
- 0:31Speaker 2: in those regards, I'm making fun of you. And now
- 0:34Speaker 2: Handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Here's Bill Handle.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Good morning everybody. It's a Wednesday morning, Monday, Wednesday, twenty seven.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And that pomo regarding Neil's upcoming red of the circumcision.
- 0:52Speaker 2: That is in reference to a story edged last week
- 0:56Speaker 2: about a we growth of foreskin. If you remember that story,
- 1:01Speaker 2: how people men specifically want to undo their circumcision. Very
- 1:06Speaker 2: strange stories. So that was a lot of fun we
- 1:08Speaker 2: had it. No, Neil is going to have bery ectric surgery.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Neil is going to have his stomach reduced dramatically. So,
- 1:17Speaker 2: having spoken from experience twenty five years ago, I did it,
- 1:21Speaker 2: probably one of the best things I've ever done.
- 1:23Speaker 1: So Neil you did the MiG one. You did the ruin?
- 1:26Speaker 2: Why I did? Yeah, I don't even know if they
- 1:27Speaker 2: do ruin why anymore?
- 1:29Speaker 1: Of course they did. It's still an old standard, but
- 1:32Speaker 1: now they have other options, like the stit, so they
- 1:34Speaker 1: have a sleeve.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Back in those days, but just not as effective. So
- 1:38Speaker 2: today there are a lot more options with the ruin.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Why is you can't undo it? Man, it is completely dying.
- 1:47Speaker 2: And one of the things about it is one of
- 1:50Speaker 2: the you know, I never drank, and I can't drink,
- 1:53Speaker 2: but after the surgery that I had, I really couldn't
- 1:57Speaker 2: drink about eighteen inches of During the procedure, about eighteen
- 2:01Speaker 2: inches give or take of your small intestine is removed,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and so the alcohol goes straight to liver in a
- 2:11Speaker 2: straight line, and man, you get plastered. Every drink is
- 2:16Speaker 2: equivalent to three drinks. So you drink one cup of
- 2:20Speaker 2: a cup of wine and it's a three yeah, oh yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 2: you give You get undrunk pretty quickly. But you know,
- 2:28Speaker 2: I take one sip, literally, I take one sip and
- 2:31Speaker 2: I'm already feeling buzzed. If I would have a full
- 2:34Speaker 2: glass of champagne, I drink, you know, I'll drink a
- 2:37Speaker 2: sip here and there, but on New Year's Eve, I'll
- 2:41Speaker 2: drink a quarter of a flute of champagne or less.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I'm on the table dancing naked. It's yeah, it's pretty gross.
- 2:49Speaker 2: It's pretty gross. Okay, Neil, good morning to you.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Good morning, and Will Cole Schreiber.
- 2:55Speaker 2: There you are. Good morning, Bill and Cono boy. Kno's
- 2:59Speaker 2: dressed differently today, aren't your Kno.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We're kind of wearing the same colors.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Well no, I'm well sort of, but you're sort of
- 3:05Speaker 2: platty cool. Yeah, and I just do that. It's this
- 3:10Speaker 2: great green shirt, and uh, you know, we talk a
- 3:12Speaker 2: lot about how we dress for some crazy reason. I
- 3:15Speaker 2: think you do that. I probably and in a lovely
- 3:19Speaker 2: black Uh what do that? I can't even see? Is
- 3:25Speaker 2: that a black shirt? It's a pardon boat neck? Boat neck?
- 3:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I never heard of both sides.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I've never heard of boat neck really, nick yeah, boat yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 2: not beaten neck, boat neck. I got it's like straight
- 3:40Speaker 2: across kind of shoulder. We know that, okay. And then
- 3:44Speaker 2: there's Ann in her very dark Yeah. You both you
- 3:47Speaker 2: both need pearls because pearls go beautifully with black. I'm
- 3:51Speaker 2: not a big fan of the pearl necklace.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I don't have pearls either, And I'm Amy. By the way,
- 3:56Speaker 3: I did say that. I did say Amy, and then
- 4:00Speaker 3: I went to Anne. I did say that I got
- 4:04Speaker 3: it this time around.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Okay, fair enough.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Ann's fan club just dipped.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah for sure. All right, guys, So Neil, you are
- 4:12Speaker 2: here on Monday, but then you are gone Tuesday, yes, sir,
- 4:16Speaker 2: and you'll be gone all week and back the following week.
- 4:19Speaker 2: This should be kind of fun. And no one's filling
- 4:21Speaker 2: in for you. It's Amy. Just the two of us,
- 4:24Speaker 2: Oh goody on the air, two of us. And then
- 4:28Speaker 2: of course, and is the glue that and is the
- 4:34Speaker 2: glue that holes our show together? Right right after you
- 4:39Speaker 2: put on glue gone? Okay, what else is going on?
- 4:46Speaker 1: Only jew in all of Hollywood that can't write a
- 4:49Speaker 1: good line? He got the broken one?
- 4:54Speaker 2: Yeah you did? Actually? Okay, guys, that's it. We're done
- 4:58Speaker 2: with the introductions, done, sa hello, and we can go
- 5:01Speaker 2: right into the news because we've got a fair amount
- 5:03Speaker 2: of news. Some political news. Oh my god, never ever
- 5:08Speaker 2: say anything negative about Donald Trump. If you are a Republican,
- 5:14Speaker 2: guaranteed you're gonna be in a lot of trouble. We'll
- 5:16Speaker 2: talk about that a little bit later on, but first
- 5:18Speaker 2: it is time for Handle on the news with Amy
- 5:23Speaker 2: and Neil and me lead story. Okay, the last sixteen
- 5:29Speaker 2: thousand residents that are in Garden Grove, we're allowed to
- 5:33Speaker 2: return home yesterday, days after the threat and I mean
- 5:37Speaker 2: the real threat of this catastrophic explosion of a seven
- 5:41Speaker 2: thousand dollars tank, seven thousand gallon tank of methyl methyl krylate,
- 5:48Speaker 2: which of course we all know about. And I'll talk
- 5:51Speaker 2: more about this at seven am because there's a story.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I'll dive into this a little bit deeper. But anyway,
- 5:57Speaker 2: good news. It didn't explode. There wasn't catastrope. And it's
- 6:01Speaker 2: really interesting how this thing would have exploded and the
- 6:05Speaker 2: reason that they I couldn't deal with it for a
- 6:09Speaker 2: few days, and it was so much fear and we
- 6:11Speaker 2: saw the water being poured on it. I'll explain all
- 6:13Speaker 2: that at seven o'clock.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Keeping them away from the USA, the Trump administration plans
- 6:21Speaker 4: to send US citizens exposed to ebola to Kenya rather
- 6:26Speaker 4: than bringing them home to be observed and treated. Healthcare
- 6:31Speaker 4: Workers and other US citizens exposed to the virus in
- 6:34Speaker 4: the past have been brought home to be treated at
- 6:37Speaker 4: specialized medical units like that one in Nebraska. But the
- 6:41Speaker 4: administration this month flew an American doctor who had symptoms
- 6:45Speaker 4: of ebola to a hospital in Germany and also moved
- 6:47Speaker 4: six other Americans to Germany and the Czech Republic to
- 6:51Speaker 4: be monitored. More than a thousand cases of ebola have
- 6:56Speaker 4: broken out in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and at
- 7:00Speaker 4: least two hundred people have died.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and this is getting worse. It is. This thing
- 7:06Speaker 2: is I wouldn't say the word exploding, but maybe maybe
- 7:10Speaker 2: as close to defining it as exploding. I mean, the WHO,
- 7:15Speaker 2: World Health Organization WHO is pretty sweating it profusely on
- 7:21Speaker 2: this one, saying we got some problems here.
- 7:25Speaker 1: All right. Ken Paxton wins Texas Senate runoff. Paxton was
- 7:30Speaker 1: boosted by a last minute endorsement from President Donald Trump
- 7:34Speaker 1: in the final days of the race, and he defeated.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Is it what how do you pronounce that guy's last name?
- 7:43Speaker 2: Cornyn?
- 7:44Speaker 4: John Cornyn?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Cornyn, you know, who'd been a huge figure there
- 7:49Speaker 1: at Texas politics, four term incumbent, so major coup for
- 7:56Speaker 1: MAGA as Handle would say.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, A couple things about this when we talk about
- 8:02Speaker 2: the defeat, it's two to one in terms of the vote. Okay,
- 8:06Speaker 2: this is no small defeat. They shell act is the
- 8:09Speaker 2: only way you can possibly describe this, Cornyn, As you said,
- 8:13Speaker 2: four terms, well well liked in the Senate if just
- 8:17Speaker 2: and the Senate Republicans are well the Senate period of
- 8:21Speaker 2: Republicans and Democrats are not particularly happy that one of
- 8:25Speaker 2: their own got booted. And it goes show you the
- 8:28Speaker 2: power of President Trump. And this is you can't say
- 8:33Speaker 2: anything negative about the President. Now. Paxton is an interesting guy.
- 8:36Speaker 2: He got the endorsement of the president because he's a
- 8:38Speaker 2: MAGA fanatic. Of course, he has all kinds of personal issues.
- 8:42Speaker 2: He was indicted for I think sex for the minor,
- 8:47Speaker 2: something along those lines. There was a trial. It was
- 8:50Speaker 2: a hung jury. They didn't go forward because the victim,
- 8:53Speaker 2: from what I understand, the victim didn't want to go
- 8:55Speaker 2: through a second grilling on the stand, and so the
- 8:59Speaker 2: case was there lots some problems here. So I was
- 9:02Speaker 2: listening to an interview yesterday that was Jay Tapper of
- 9:05Speaker 2: CNN was doing with one of the Republicans congress people
- 9:09Speaker 2: and talking about this race, and the Republicans said, well,
- 9:13Speaker 2: Ken Paxton is going to do everything the President wants
- 9:16Speaker 2: him to do, and he is a true MAGA believer.
- 9:20Speaker 2: On and on and on, how he is going to
- 9:22Speaker 2: change everything and whatever. Law and order guy and Tapper said, well,
- 9:26Speaker 2: how about this, and he went through the list of
- 9:29Speaker 2: all the personal problems with Paxton, has the indictment whatever.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know anything about that, but
- 9:35Speaker 2: let me tell you how great Ken Paxton is. It's
- 9:40Speaker 2: going to be interesting, it really is. The Republicans are
- 9:43Speaker 2: going to have to somehow over overcome the personal stuff. Now,
- 9:47Speaker 2: his opponent, James at Talla Rico, it's going to be
- 9:53Speaker 2: on his part. He's considered a liberal by a lot
- 9:56Speaker 2: of people. So it's going to be a political attack
- 9:58Speaker 2: on Paxton. It's going to be a personal as well
- 10:02Speaker 2: as a political attack, and so they're going to spend
- 10:05Speaker 2: a fortune on this. But the bottom line, you say
- 10:10Speaker 2: anything against Donald Trump, if you're a Republican, you are dead.
- 10:16Speaker 2: As he said of John Cornyan, he was disloyal to me,
- 10:21Speaker 2: even though he voted ninety three or ninety five percent
- 10:24Speaker 2: in favor of Trump's policies. The bottom line, if you
- 10:28Speaker 2: do not vote one hundred percent in favor of Trump
- 10:33Speaker 2: his policies. You are disloyal to him and disloyal to
- 10:38Speaker 2: the Constitution. Now we're going to see what happens in
- 10:41Speaker 2: the general election. If the Republicans stay in power, in
- 10:45Speaker 2: the general election, you will see quite possibly the most
- 10:49Speaker 2: powerful president in the history of the United States. And
- 10:53Speaker 2: I guarantee you, this is my prognostication. I guarantee you
- 10:57Speaker 2: there will be a move and I'm not talking about
- 10:59Speaker 2: a wall move in Congress to undo the twenty second
- 11:03Speaker 2: Amendment allowing Trump to basically be president until he dies.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I am convinced that it is going to happen. I
- 11:09Speaker 2: don't think so because I think it's just too overwhelming.
- 11:13Speaker 2: But there is going to be You watch the move,
- 11:16Speaker 2: You watch fascinating stuff to see how much power this
- 11:20Speaker 2: president has, and he's going to be a kingmaker. Assuming
- 11:23Speaker 2: he leaves office, which I think is going to happen,
- 11:25Speaker 2: he will decide who the next nominees are. He will
- 11:29Speaker 2: decide who the Senators and the congress people are going
- 11:31Speaker 2: to be.
- 11:33Speaker 1: If he eradicated the twenty sixth Amendment, twenty sec. Is
- 11:37Speaker 1: twenty second rather, which is not going to happen. If
- 11:40Speaker 1: that happened, he'd still have to be elected, of course
- 11:43Speaker 1: he would. Yeah, but look what happened last time around.
- 11:47Speaker 1: But then again, it was Joe Biden, it was Kamala Harris.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And then you could get other presidents could come back.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Obama could come back.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Oh absolutely, ifdr to come back, they would, they could
- 11:58Speaker 2: exhuale if the r Hey just a quick one, you know,
- 12:01Speaker 2: I read the paper every morning. I'm up in the
- 12:03Speaker 2: computer and I read the New York Times, the La Times,
- 12:06Speaker 2: Wall Street Journal, the Orange County Register occasionally, and this
- 12:11Speaker 2: is one of the I'm thinking here, I am maybe
- 12:15Speaker 2: an editor at New York Times. And there was a
- 12:20Speaker 2: story yesterday. I know if you saw the video, it's
- 12:22Speaker 2: covered all over the country of RFK Junior picking up
- 12:25Speaker 2: a snake.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Snakes.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Yeah, two snakes picking up two snakes. Okay, so there's
- 12:30Speaker 2: a story. And so here's one New York Times. Did
- 12:36Speaker 2: he pick up the snake correctly? There's your story. Okay,
- 12:45Speaker 2: there's news for you. Did he picked them up correctly?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Okay, you're supposed to pick them up behind there.
- 12:51Speaker 2: O kep, fine, but they're okay, great, So there's a
- 12:55Speaker 2: national story for you. What I'm pointing out is that
- 12:58Speaker 2: there are certain days where you just have to fillip
- 13:00Speaker 2: news cycles, don't you.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, And then there was people going is it ai.
- 13:06Speaker 2: All of it? Yeah? I know, it's gotten crazy. Okay,
- 13:08Speaker 2: moving on some a little bit more important news. Let's
- 13:12Speaker 2: continue on with war handle on the news, Amy Neil
- 13:15Speaker 2: and me sh.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Trump administrations planning a government wide NDA that would bar
- 13:22Speaker 4: federal workers from sharing a lot of confidential government information.
- 13:27Speaker 4: They filed a draft notice that says that it would
- 13:31Speaker 4: block employees from sharing non public, confidential, proprietary information or
- 13:36Speaker 4: any sensitive, predecisional or deliberative material that is not currently
- 13:41Speaker 4: publicly available and should not be disclosed under applicable law.
- 13:45Speaker 4: They basically say they want to stop leaks.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, of any kind. So you can't leak anything, I
- 13:53Speaker 2: mean anything confidentially, uometary, any sensitive predecisional or deliberative material.
- 14:00Speaker 2: By the way, who makes that makes that determination? So
- 14:06Speaker 2: how far can this go? By the way? Trust me,
- 14:08Speaker 2: the courts are going to undo this one. But still, yeah,
- 14:12Speaker 2: there are some leaks and they and that's what unfortunately
- 14:15Speaker 2: the government has to deal with. You know, when you
- 14:17Speaker 2: have two million people in you know the government and
- 14:22Speaker 2: the workforce, you're going to have leaks. Very few times.
- 14:25Speaker 2: There haven't been leaks. A Manhattan Project, there wasn't a
- 14:28Speaker 2: leak for the most part. You know, the building of
- 14:30Speaker 2: the atomic weapon and how many hundreds of thousands work
- 14:33Speaker 2: there are no leaks. Well, there was one leak and
- 14:35Speaker 2: that was a couple of people that worked there and
- 14:37Speaker 2: gave the atomic secrets to the Russians. But eh, it's
- 14:40Speaker 2: a small leak, so doesn't really matter. No, but that's
- 14:45Speaker 2: pretty wide. I mean, NDA anything you hear, matter of fact,
- 14:48Speaker 2: you can't even admit you work for the government because
- 14:51Speaker 2: that proprietary. By the way, that's stretching it.
- 14:56Speaker 1: All right. World Cup gonna bring massive crowds here to
- 15:00Speaker 1: La so we assume. And Los Angeles Police Department says
- 15:05Speaker 1: it's preparing one of its largest deployments in decades to
- 15:10Speaker 1: secure fan events across the city. And keep in mind,
- 15:14Speaker 1: we have massive concerts here, we have the oscars here,
- 15:18Speaker 1: we have a lot of things, so this is pretty big.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Captain Eric Eppolito said from the LAPD operations chief. He
- 15:28Speaker 1: says that the FIFA FanFest, the scale of this operation
- 15:33Speaker 1: stands out probably one of the bigger deployments he's seen
- 15:37Speaker 1: in twenty nine years on the job.
- 15:43Speaker 4: America is American is tapping into Starlink. American Airlines plans
- 15:50Speaker 4: to install Starlink on more than five hundred of its
- 15:55Speaker 4: airbus planes starting early next year. Starlink is by Elon
- 16:00Speaker 4: Musk's SpaceX. It has become a dominant provider for airlines
- 16:04Speaker 4: United Southwest Alaska, and Starlink is going to come at
- 16:09Speaker 4: no additional charge to a advantage program members.
- 16:15Speaker 2: All right, have you used any Internet on airplanes? I did.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I watched the World Series. Yeah, it's pretty pretty neat stuff. Yeah,
- 16:25Speaker 2: it used to be. I think Jet Blue was the
- 16:27Speaker 2: first one to offer television, but it was really sketchy coverage.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I mean, you didn't get it wasn't really good transmissions.
- 16:36Speaker 2: But now it's uh well, starlink is another thing. This
- 16:39Speaker 2: is where Elon Musk is, you know, just years ahead
- 16:42Speaker 2: of anybody else in cars and space with SpaceX and
- 16:48Speaker 2: with starlink. Oh, this was fun. If you saw these
- 16:53Speaker 2: photos yesterday.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Oh the construction. They're erecting an octagon shaped cage on
- 16:58Speaker 1: the south lawn. They're at the White House. They're going
- 17:01Speaker 1: to hunt host next month's UFC bout. It's not only
- 17:06Speaker 1: marks apparently the nation's two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, but
- 17:10Speaker 1: also President Donald Trump's eightieth birthday.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Yep. And if you look at it, a wire mesh
- 17:17Speaker 2: fenced in ring and this is June fourteenth. We will
- 17:22Speaker 2: be ringed by a red, white and blue stage, that
- 17:26Speaker 2: huge arch featuring stars and stripes, two large screens carrying
- 17:30Speaker 2: the live action, thousands of temporary seats, including space for
- 17:35Speaker 2: marching band. And this is going to be championship UFC fight.
- 17:41Speaker 2: They were going to be what it was supposed to
- 17:42Speaker 2: be nine different fights that were championship, they'll gonna be two.
- 17:47Speaker 2: And the tickets are free, I understand. However, I also
- 17:50Speaker 2: heard that tickets ring side are going for a million dollars.
- 17:54Speaker 2: So I'm assuming that.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Has me only if you want residency.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm assumed mean that it has to do
- 18:01Speaker 2: with political contributions. I don't know, but you know, this
- 18:05Speaker 2: is not Trump just being crazy Trump, although it is.
- 18:08Speaker 2: He is a huge UFC fan. Are you the fight
- 18:11Speaker 2: a UFC fighting? And he's been He's been that way
- 18:14Speaker 2: for a long time.
- 18:15Speaker 1: They're going to have stars and arm Barsah America.
- 18:19Speaker 2: It's good. It's just fantastic. I look at that, did
- 18:22Speaker 2: you know? It's just what do you do with this?
- 18:25Speaker 2: What do you do? This is enjoy Yeah, no, I'm
- 18:29Speaker 2: going to watch it.
- 18:30Speaker 1: You know, definitely say having net issues or probably little
- 18:33Speaker 1: bug issues that were uh when they were checking out
- 18:38Speaker 1: the area. They're like, this is going to be hard
- 18:40Speaker 1: on the fighters because there's bugs everywhere.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You know, summertime, it's pretty it's pretty humid in Washington,
- 18:47Speaker 2: d C. During the summer.
- 18:48Speaker 4: A lot of outside money coming in to California. Corporations,
- 18:52Speaker 4: labor unions, tech titans, Native American tribes and others have
- 18:57Speaker 4: donated seventy nine point six million to those independent committees
- 19:03Speaker 4: who are trying to sway the governor's race ahead of
- 19:06Speaker 4: the June second primary. Many of the largest backers of
- 19:10Speaker 4: these committees have significant business interests in front of the
- 19:14Speaker 4: state's next governor and state agencies, and nearly thirty two
- 19:19Speaker 4: point three million dollars of that seventy nine point six
- 19:22Speaker 4: million has been donated to opposing the candidacy of Tom Steyer,
- 19:28Speaker 4: who is one of the leading Democrats in the race.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Wait, depending on who it gets to go in
- 19:34Speaker 2: the general election, because California is really weird the top
- 19:37Speaker 2: two vote getters, notwithstanding the party. So you can have
- 19:40Speaker 2: two Democrats, you can have two Republicans, one of each.
- 19:43Speaker 2: If there is a Republican and a Democrat running, you
- 19:46Speaker 2: are going to see the money becoming astronomical of the
- 19:51Speaker 2: money that's being poured in. Also at seven funny, seven
- 19:54Speaker 2: fifty seven funny, actually seven p fifty I do have
- 19:57Speaker 2: something funny, and that is the race for governor and
- 20:03Speaker 2: what's become a huge issue, I mean a huge issue
- 20:07Speaker 2: and no one's talking about it. I'm going to talk
- 20:11Speaker 2: about it and let you in on it. That's coming up.
- 20:13Speaker 1: That if it's a Republican and Democrat, are we going
- 20:17Speaker 1: to make some of that sweet sweet cash here on
- 20:20Speaker 1: the station.
- 20:21Speaker 2: You would think so. You would think so. At this point.
- 20:25Speaker 2: The problem is California doesn't get a whole lot of
- 20:27Speaker 2: federal money ever, because it's a given why to run
- 20:32Speaker 2: a race in California is a fortune because you have
- 20:35Speaker 2: so many people. We have to reach forty million people
- 20:37Speaker 2: and it's the blue estate in the country. So it's
- 20:42Speaker 2: sort of a given which way California, So we don't
- 20:44Speaker 2: get the money. You go to a swing state. You
- 20:46Speaker 2: go to Michigan, you go to Wisconsin, you're going to
- 20:49Speaker 2: see every single commercial sold out. You cannot buy a
- 20:52Speaker 2: radio or TV ad during a political campaign. They are
- 20:56Speaker 2: sold out. All right?
- 20:59Speaker 1: Moving on, all right? Former Democratic US president, you remember him,
- 21:04Speaker 1: Sleepy Joe. He sued the US Department of Justice Tuesday yesterday,
- 21:11Speaker 1: seeking to bar the release of audio recordings and transcripts
- 21:14Speaker 1: of private conversations with his biographer back in twenty sixteen
- 21:18Speaker 1: and twenty seventeen. These were actually recorded in his home,
- 21:22Speaker 1: I think, made in his home part of the writing
- 21:25Speaker 1: process for his twenty seventeen memoir, and the Foundation sought
- 21:31Speaker 1: them after they were used as part of the then
- 21:33Speaker 1: Special Council Robert Herr's twenty twenty three investigation into Biden
- 21:38Speaker 1: and his handling of the classified documents and all that stuff,
- 21:42Speaker 1: and the HERB declined to bring criminal charges, if you
- 21:46Speaker 1: remember so.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's the Republicans want that out. By the way,
- 21:53Speaker 2: when you pointed out, do we remember Joe Biden's presidency? Yeah,
- 21:57Speaker 2: we do, we do. He doesn't.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Come on now, he's in perfect shape. They all said that, yea,
- 22:05Speaker 1: until he wasn't.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Yes, there's point. There's the exit, mister President. No, no, no, no,
- 22:12Speaker 2: that's the bathroom. There is where you want to go out. Okay, leave,
- 22:16Speaker 2: leave the stage, Okay.
- 22:18Speaker 4: South Carolina says note to read distracting. The House passed
- 22:24Speaker 4: a plan to change the voting districts in South Carolina,
- 22:28Speaker 4: but then senators decline to do it. They basically said
- 22:33Speaker 4: it was too late to make a change because early
- 22:36Speaker 4: in person voting is already underway. It started yesterday in
- 22:39Speaker 4: South Carolina's primaries.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, think of this. The congressional map is
- 22:45Speaker 2: going to be changed after voting started, and you've got
- 22:49Speaker 2: wait a minute, that would invalidate the votes and a
- 22:52Speaker 2: special session would have to be brought in. And well, no,
- 22:57Speaker 2: the sessions already done because the vote are already happened.
- 23:01Speaker 2: And the Court said no, you can't do it, and
- 23:04Speaker 2: the Senate said you can't do it, even though I
- 23:07Speaker 2: think the House did. So that's two hits, by the way,
- 23:12Speaker 2: South Carolina and Alabama. The fight's going to be on
- 23:16Speaker 2: these correscial districts. That's because of what the courts have
- 23:20Speaker 2: allowed in terms of redistricting. And that's a really complicated
- 23:24Speaker 2: question because it has to do with racial determination in
- 23:28Speaker 2: the court said, if it's not racial, then if it's
- 23:31Speaker 2: only political, we're going to allow redistricting. And if it's
- 23:35Speaker 2: and then the argument as well, it's a black district,
- 23:37Speaker 2: and they say no, it just happens to be a
- 23:39Speaker 2: black district. Coincidentally. It's a huge complicated mess. But the
- 23:45Speaker 2: problem is is that it's going to be wide open
- 23:48Speaker 2: every time there is a Republican or a Democratic legislature,
- 23:52Speaker 2: state legislature, they're going to remap it every single time.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Welcome to the new world. By the way, Trump's started
- 24:00Speaker 2: this one. Whether you believe that's good or bad. Trump
- 24:04Speaker 2: started this one. He came up with this.
- 24:06Speaker 1: What about when Democrats did it in New Mexico?
- 24:10Speaker 2: Understood, but that was but that was after the census,
- 24:13Speaker 2: which is the way it is done after every ten years.
- 24:17Speaker 2: What Trump did is saying midway, we're going to do it,
- 24:20Speaker 2: which means why midway, why don't not? Why not three
- 24:23Speaker 2: quarters of the way in? And that's exactly what the
- 24:25Speaker 2: court said. You can redistrict whenever the hell you want,
- 24:28Speaker 2: as long as it's not for racial in racial terms.
- 24:33Speaker 2: That's the problem, which is wide open for every single
- 24:37Speaker 2: party who's in power. Every time an election happens to
- 24:41Speaker 2: redraw the map.
- 24:42Speaker 1: New report found that city in Orange County is one
- 24:46Speaker 1: of the top places in the US to raise a family.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And I think this is like every year it's in
- 24:51Speaker 1: the top three. So number three Irvine, California, which is
- 24:56Speaker 1: a gorgeous place to live. Number one is Fremont, where
- 25:01Speaker 1: the hell's Fremont near the Bay Area is a good
- 25:07Speaker 1: place to live.
- 25:08Speaker 2: That seems to be. Yeah, but when you say a
- 25:10Speaker 2: good place to be, what does that mean? That's pretty
- 25:12Speaker 2: broad and a bunch of categories.
- 25:16Speaker 1: They's a good place for children to raise children.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Schools are good, economy is good. Yeah, you look
- 25:23Speaker 2: at Uh, that's like saying the United States has the
- 25:26Speaker 2: best medical care or the best quote the best country
- 25:30Speaker 2: in the world to live in. Look at the parameter.
- 25:32Speaker 2: What are you looking at? Mortality rates? No, not even close. Uh.
- 25:37Speaker 1: You hate America so much?
- 25:39Speaker 2: No, I don't, No, I don't. I afford here's the problem.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I can afford good insurance. For those of you that
- 25:45Speaker 2: don't have good insurance, you are screwed. And that's just
- 25:48Speaker 2: one place. I'm just saying that America all do with
- 25:51Speaker 2: our medicals. It does.
- 25:54Speaker 1: It has tons to do with our medicals. So we
- 25:56Speaker 1: have a horrible insurance problem.
- 25:58Speaker 2: We also have a place, says and I say, well,
- 26:00Speaker 2: you can't get medical care. I mean it's impossible. Go
- 26:04Speaker 2: to Appalachia someplace. Go to these little towns, go to
- 26:06Speaker 2: squirrel Hollow where the squirrel hollow. I know you want
- 26:10Speaker 2: to squirrel Hollow. I get that point. Do I believe
- 26:14Speaker 2: that America is the best place in the world to live? Yes,
- 26:17Speaker 2: I do, but I am not an an exceptionalist. I
- 26:20Speaker 2: believe that it's a little bit more complicated than that,
- 26:22Speaker 2: much like the best city to live in Okay.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Not the tour of Alcatraz they were expecting. A ferry
- 26:33Speaker 4: carrying passengers was apparently on its way back from sightseeing
- 26:39Speaker 4: and Alcatraz was docking at Peer thirty one when it
- 26:42Speaker 4: slammed into the dock, striking the piers. Several passengers say
- 26:46Speaker 4: the impact knocked people off their feet and turned a
- 26:49Speaker 4: scenic trip into a frightening experience. One passenger says that
- 26:53Speaker 4: the boat hit the pier several times, shattered windows, and
- 26:57Speaker 4: caused panic among passengers.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Yep, there's one more person on the unemployment line, and
- 27:03Speaker 2: that's the capital. The captain of this faery. Have you
- 27:07Speaker 2: ever been to Alcatraz? Yes, great place, so much fun.
- 27:11Speaker 2: You see where al Capones where his cell was, and
- 27:15Speaker 2: you go in there and get some syphilis. You could
- 27:17Speaker 2: see the Birdman of Alcatraz where he camped out. I mean,
- 27:22Speaker 2: really fun.
- 27:22Speaker 1: So you get the bird flu. Yeah, that's a good
- 27:25Speaker 1: point for everybody. All right. Stephen Colbert, as we know,
- 27:32Speaker 1: is no longer doing a show there at CBS. But
- 27:35Speaker 1: this is this is funny. So he, I guess, used
- 27:39Speaker 1: to host or was a host at one time on
- 27:43Speaker 1: a show, a public access show called Only in Monroe,
- 27:48Speaker 1: And he jumped on there like the day after his
- 27:54Speaker 1: TV show went off and went on this public access
- 27:59Speaker 1: show and did a show of some kind. And now
- 28:04Speaker 1: he made a joke about how he wanted to be
- 28:06Speaker 1: on there at least one more time before Paramount bought
- 28:09Speaker 1: this public access show or whatever. And now apparently CBS
- 28:14Speaker 1: is saying there's a copyright infringement.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Hey, let me ask a question. I didn't know public
- 28:19Speaker 2: access was still around.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Oh, sure, it legally has to be.
- 28:23Speaker 2: I think, yeah, I think you're right. But anybody, anybody
- 28:26Speaker 2: can have a television show.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I've had a television show on public access.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I've had one on public access many many years ago.
- 28:35Speaker 2: And what did you talk about?
- 28:37Speaker 1: I talked about apologetics, defending Christian philosophies and ideas.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Why did you give it up? Because how many people
- 28:46Speaker 2: are riveting?
- 28:48Speaker 1: Yes?
- 28:48Speaker 2: It is riveting? Is half? Do you know that? Here's
- 28:50Speaker 2: a quick one. When I mentioned that radio is a
- 28:53Speaker 2: poor stepsister, I mean a really poor stepsis step sister
- 29:00Speaker 2: to television. So we had booked someone on the show
- 29:03Speaker 2: as some author of some kind, and last minute they canceled,
- 29:08Speaker 2: and the producer said, why did you cancel? Well, because
- 29:12Speaker 2: we were offered a spot on television. Okay, what spot? Well,
- 29:17Speaker 2: it's a public access show. An interviewer wanted me on
- 29:20Speaker 2: the show. I said, wait a minute, think about this
- 29:23Speaker 2: public access. You're lucky to have two hundred people watching,
- 29:28Speaker 2: literally two hundred or one hundred people. In the meantime,
- 29:31Speaker 2: we're saying, there's a million people out here listening to KFI,
- 29:35Speaker 2: and you'd rather have two hundred people. Oh, well, it's television,
- 29:39Speaker 2: public access, nobody watches. I did a couple of public
- 29:44Speaker 2: access interview shows in the world of surrogacy, and I realized,
- 29:49Speaker 2: you know what I'd rather talk to more than two
- 29:51Speaker 2: hundred or one hundred and fifty or eighty people family members.
- 29:57Speaker 1: You could get on the top of the roof of
- 29:59Speaker 1: iHeart right now out and yell and hit more people.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. But public access is still there. I
- 30:04Speaker 2: mean they give you a set, right you go to
- 30:07Speaker 2: the public you go to the television station and they
- 30:09Speaker 2: have a place for the public access. They give you
- 30:12Speaker 2: a potted plant as a set and two chairs, and
- 30:17Speaker 2: everybody is exactly the same. I mean, you the same
- 30:20Speaker 2: potted plant. You move it around so people think it's
- 30:23Speaker 2: a different set. You know, you move it five feet
- 30:25Speaker 2: to the left or behind one chair, and it's a
- 30:27Speaker 2: different one.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Zach Gallifanakis does a show called Between Two Ferns. It's
- 30:32Speaker 1: just about the best thing in the whole wide world.
- 30:35Speaker 2: All Right, we're done, guys, We are completely finished. Okay,
- 30:39Speaker 2: the runaway dangers of this chemical spill leak of what
- 30:45Speaker 2: happened in Garden Grove, and I'm going to take a
- 30:48Speaker 2: deep dive into this and explain what happened. And this
- 30:51Speaker 2: is pretty dangerous stuff. I mean, this came close. I'll
- 30:53Speaker 2: explain that when we come back. Kfi A M sixty
- 30:59Speaker 2: you've been listening to the will handle the show. Catch
- 31:01Speaker 2: My Show Monday through Friday, six am to nine am,
- 31:04Speaker 2: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
