- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. Lots did I sect about the
- 0:18Speaker 1: Packers and the Titans after that big Tennessee win in
- 0:22Speaker 1: lambeau Field last night. Hello, and welcome into the NFL
- 0:25Speaker 1: Network news room. I'm Omar Reice alongside Judy Bautista, Who's host.
- 0:29Speaker 1: That's good to see it, Judy, good to be here
- 0:31Speaker 1: with you. Bambo's a Mexico. We're getting ready for Monday
- 0:34Speaker 1: night as the International Series moves to Mexico City with
- 0:37Speaker 1: the Cardinals and Forts. But we begin with something images
- 0:41Speaker 1: anything but Mexico. We take you north, where the Buffalo
- 0:44Speaker 1: Bills have canceled practice after all that snow has come in.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Of course, yesterday the Bills in the NFL announced that
- 0:50Speaker 1: their game scheduled for Sunday in Orchard Park against the
- 0:54Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns has been moved to Detroit and Ford Field.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Here's Sean McDermott addressing the situation a little earlier this morning.
- 1:03Speaker 1: We want to head out tomorrow as close to the
- 1:06Speaker 1: normal time as possible. However, um again, seeing what's happening
- 1:10Speaker 1: around us right now, just want to make sure that
- 1:12Speaker 1: all the staff and players families are safe and and
- 1:16Speaker 1: dug out before we can, uh, before we want to,
- 1:19Speaker 1: you know, try and get out of here, just so
- 1:21Speaker 1: you know, everyone's mind is in the right spot, um,
- 1:24Speaker 1: knowing that their families are all safe. So huge logistical
- 1:28Speaker 1: challenges ahead for both the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns.
- 1:31Speaker 1: For more in this story, we welcome in Ian Rappaport
- 1:33Speaker 1: and Tom Pellicero. Ian, we'll start with you. What more
- 1:36Speaker 1: can you tell us about this story? Yeah, so much
- 1:39Speaker 1: still to be determined from the Buffalo Bills, including when
- 1:42Speaker 1: and how they end up traveling there. And you know,
- 1:44Speaker 1: I think the common thought would be, well, they go
- 1:47Speaker 1: to Detroit, stay there through Thanksgiving and then come back.
- 1:50Speaker 1: It's not gonna be that way. They're gonna, like Sean
- 1:52Speaker 1: McDermott said, try to keep this as regularly somewhat normal
- 1:56Speaker 1: as possible, will come back right after the game, Uh,
- 1:59Speaker 1: stay in Buffalo, be with their families, try to have
- 2:01Speaker 1: some sort of Thanksgiving, and that head out to Detroit again.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But look at that. I mean, if anyone wondered why
- 2:07Speaker 1: Tom the game was moved to Detroit, Imagine having a
- 2:10Speaker 1: football game in that setting. Imagine people trying to get
- 2:13Speaker 1: their roads closed. Local uh you know, police and fire
- 2:19Speaker 1: and rescue and everyone needed for much more important things
- 2:22Speaker 1: than simply a football game. Not wanting to divert local
- 2:24Speaker 1: resources certainly something that played very heavily in the mind
- 2:28Speaker 1: of the Buffalo Bills in the NFL UH and the
- 2:31Speaker 1: local authorities they consulted with. The main thing is, now,
- 2:34Speaker 1: with no practice and with so much up in the air,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the Bills have to go try to play a football game,
- 2:38Speaker 1: a much needed football game if they want to come
- 2:41Speaker 1: out and win it. A very unusual neutral site game
- 2:46Speaker 1: between the Bills and the Browns now at Ford Field,
- 2:49Speaker 1: but not entirely unprecedented. I'm one of the few people
- 2:52Speaker 1: who has had the pleasure of covering a neutral site
- 2:54Speaker 1: game at Ford Field. It was in December of when
- 2:58Speaker 1: the Metro Dome roof collapsed and a Giants Vikings game
- 3:02Speaker 1: ended up being played there on a Monday night. Now,
- 3:05Speaker 1: in that case, there was actually less lead time to
- 3:07Speaker 1: flip the field, so to speak, but they still had
- 3:10Speaker 1: the logo painted at midfield, they still have the sounds
- 3:13Speaker 1: that were associated with the Vikings, the gallerhorn and what
- 3:15Speaker 1: not available, So and anticipate that this feels in terms
- 3:18Speaker 1: of visually and audioly like a home game for the Bills. However,
- 3:24Speaker 1: Detroit is a much closer drive for Browns fans. It's
- 3:27Speaker 1: about two and a half hours here. Brandon, being the
- 3:29Speaker 1: Bills general manager, said, tickets are going to go on sale.
- 3:32Speaker 1: They're gonna cost way less than they normally would. UH
- 3:35Speaker 1: fans are being refunded for tickets they bought for the
- 3:37Speaker 1: previous games. This is a separate sale. Remains to be seeing.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Bean said, he hopes it still is gonna end up
- 3:42Speaker 1: being a Bill's type of home game here, but I
- 3:44Speaker 1: think there were about forty six thousand fans there for
- 3:46Speaker 1: that Vikings Giants game, and will be interesting to see
- 3:49Speaker 1: what the mix ends up being in the stands omar
- 3:51Speaker 1: as Ian mentioned complicating matters the fact that the Bills
- 3:54Speaker 1: are playing in Detroit against the Lions on Thanksgiving. So
- 3:57Speaker 1: we've seen in years past when this has happened, the
- 4:00Speaker 1: NFL move maybe a day or two back to allow
- 4:02Speaker 1: for those facilities to be managed better, but not possible
- 4:05Speaker 1: this upcoming week. So a lot still to get to
- 4:08Speaker 1: here before that game on Sunday in Detroit. I and
- 4:10Speaker 1: Tom thank you both very much. As for Thursday, Night
- 4:12Speaker 1: Football last night, Aaron Rodgers coming off that big win
- 4:15Speaker 1: against the Dallas Cowboys kind of keep things going against
- 4:18Speaker 1: the Tennessee Titans as the Titans go on to win
- 4:22Speaker 1: twenty seven to seven teen. They have now won seven
- 4:25Speaker 1: of eight after that. Oh and to start here, some
- 4:28Speaker 1: reaction after the game last Sunday, and like, I played
- 4:33Speaker 1: terrible and that motivated me. So you know, I'm always
- 4:37Speaker 1: motivated every single day. Um, constantly thinking, constantly critiquing myself
- 4:42Speaker 1: every single day. You know, it never stopped. So you know,
- 4:46Speaker 1: I just want to be the best I can be
- 4:48Speaker 1: to help his team and Tudor I can, you know,
- 4:50Speaker 1: to help this team win and be the best player
- 4:52Speaker 1: I can be. We've said it all year. Um, we
- 4:54Speaker 1: faced a lot of adversity and this week was no different.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Coming on a short week, banged up, had some guys out,
- 5:00Speaker 1: and came out. You know, we set our intentions on Monday,
- 5:03Speaker 1: came into the building after a hard fog game on Sunday,
- 5:07Speaker 1: really got ourselves ready to go early in the week,
- 5:10Speaker 1: set our mind that we're gonna come up here and
- 5:12Speaker 1: win this game, and we did exactly that. Yeah, season
- 5:15Speaker 1: that over. There's still six opportunities left. Um, you know,
- 5:20Speaker 1: we got a tough game. You gotta go to Philly.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Hopefully we can these few days get a little healthy
- 5:27Speaker 1: or refresh the mind and then uh, obviously we gotta
- 5:34Speaker 1: gotta win these next games. More on this matchup. We
- 5:37Speaker 1: welcome in our Mark Ross, Mark, welcome into the show.
- 5:40Speaker 1: And you saw Tennessee doing what they do best. They
- 5:44Speaker 1: remain in the a f C contender window. But did
- 5:46Speaker 1: they show you enough last night to become true Super
- 5:49Speaker 1: Bowl contenders in your eyes? No, they did no more.
- 5:53Speaker 1: And look, I love Tennessee. You have to give it
- 5:55Speaker 1: to Mike Rabel and that staff, that whole organization is
- 5:58Speaker 1: that they play different than anybody else in the league.
- 6:01Speaker 1: They play so physical, so well coached, and they really
- 6:05Speaker 1: us impose their will on teams. And they're built different
- 6:09Speaker 1: than other teams where they're really built around Derrick Henry
- 6:11Speaker 1: and what he does and the importance that Derrick Henry has.
- 6:14Speaker 1: That team is the equivalent of a Patrick Mahomes and
- 6:17Speaker 1: a Josh Allen for other teams, and they just grime
- 6:21Speaker 1: teams down. And you see Tennessee do this every year. Look,
- 6:25Speaker 1: they're gonna win their division. They're gonna get in the playoffs.
- 6:28Speaker 1: They're gonna make it hard for any team that they
- 6:31Speaker 1: play in the playoffs. But ultimately, I just think they
- 6:35Speaker 1: just have too many limitations that everything the margin for
- 6:39Speaker 1: air for them, everything has to go perfectly right in
- 6:41Speaker 1: each game to kind of string together four games in
- 6:45Speaker 1: a row to win the Super Bowls. So yes, I
- 6:48Speaker 1: love this team. I love the way they play. Look,
- 6:50Speaker 1: the only game they lost we talked about. The one
- 6:52Speaker 1: loss was in overtime loss in k C when the
- 6:55Speaker 1: league Willis had to play, and they really impose their
- 6:57Speaker 1: will on that game as well. So yes, I love Tennessee.
- 7:01Speaker 1: This is the way they've looked the past four years.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Judy that get in there though, they're gonna get it,
- 7:06Speaker 1: give it their hall. It's gonna make it tough. But
- 7:08Speaker 1: ultimately I just don't see this as a super Bowl winner.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I do think, though, Mark, that they can cause disruption
- 7:14Speaker 1: in the A f C field in the playoffs if
- 7:16Speaker 1: they play the way they played last night, Because what
- 7:19Speaker 1: I like about them is obviously they can dominate the clock.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Derrick Henry can steam role people. Ryan Tannehill played a
- 7:26Speaker 1: practically flawless game last night. If he can do that
- 7:29Speaker 1: in the playoffs, and then finally, they don't blink even
- 7:33Speaker 1: when things go wrong. That long drive, the eight team
- 7:35Speaker 1: play drive that took ten minutes off the clock, they
- 7:38Speaker 1: came out with no points. Some teams would fold after that.
- 7:42Speaker 1: That would be a gut punch. Not them. They keep
- 7:44Speaker 1: going and they keep playing in the style they want
- 7:46Speaker 1: to play. They don't flinch, and that is what I
- 7:49Speaker 1: like about them. There are some teams in the a
- 7:52Speaker 1: f C who would be in the a f C
- 7:53Speaker 1: field right now who are shaky. They are not dominant.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I'm not talking about the Kansas City Chiefs, but teams
- 7:59Speaker 1: that are shaky and haven't fully established their identity by
- 8:02Speaker 1: the time we get to the playoffs. Those are the
- 8:04Speaker 1: teams at the to see Titans can take advantage of
- 8:07Speaker 1: and they can cause trouble. I don't know if they
- 8:09Speaker 1: can string together all those wins to win a Super Bowl,
- 8:11Speaker 1: but I do think they can cause trouble in the
- 8:13Speaker 1: a f C field. This year, you talk about teams
- 8:15Speaker 1: that have taken on the identity of their head coach.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Mike Rabel, the reigning Coach of the Year, will certainly
- 8:20Speaker 1: have a candidacy in this year's race. As for the Packers,
- 8:24Speaker 1: they've fallen out to four and seven. We've seen them
- 8:27Speaker 1: pull off a miracle finish before. Back in there were
- 8:30Speaker 1: four and six, they ended the year with six straight wins,
- 8:33Speaker 1: got to the playoffs. Do they have a similar run
- 8:35Speaker 1: in them, Judy, I just don't feel like they do. Omar.
- 8:39Speaker 1: First of all, they've got a tough as Aaron Rodgers
- 8:41Speaker 1: pointed out that they got to face the Eagles now,
- 8:43Speaker 1: which is a tough tale to have. But more than
- 8:47Speaker 1: that is they have myriad issues. It's not just one thing.
- 8:50Speaker 1: In the past you would say, well it was the defense.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It's more than that. And what was most troubling about
- 8:55Speaker 1: last night's game is that Aaron Rodgers was not a
- 8:57Speaker 1: solution to the problems. He was one of the problems.
- 9:00Speaker 1: He was missing passes, very uncharacteristic. Those are pastes he
- 9:03Speaker 1: makes in his sleep. He took that bad sack on
- 9:07Speaker 1: a third down. So there is so much going wrong
- 9:10Speaker 1: for this team right now. And and frankly, you know,
- 9:13Speaker 1: the Vikings are so far ahead in that division that
- 9:16Speaker 1: it's hard for me to imagine that they're going to
- 9:19Speaker 1: make a playoff push. Now. To me, the bigger question
- 9:22Speaker 1: is what happens if they get eliminated fairly early, what
- 9:26Speaker 1: do they do? What does the brain trust do about?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Do they take a look at Jordan's love and what
- 9:32Speaker 1: kind of drama would ensue from that decision? Well, Judy,
- 9:37Speaker 1: you already know what kind of drama would ensue if
- 9:39Speaker 1: they loved it there, because Aaron creates drama without any
- 9:43Speaker 1: sort of other drama there. And you're right when you
- 9:46Speaker 1: analyze this team is that there's so many issues. There's
- 9:50Speaker 1: not one thing you can point at. And I've said
- 9:52Speaker 1: this all year. The biggest issue is Aaron Rodgers number one,
- 9:56Speaker 1: with all the distractions that he's created, and just to
- 9:59Speaker 1: jump in there and say, okay, let me go back
- 10:00Speaker 1: and be the m v P Aaron Rodgers I thought
- 10:03Speaker 1: was not a sound plan in and then with Aaron
- 10:06Speaker 1: Rodgers the way he plays. You mentioned it last night,
- 10:09Speaker 1: the mistakes he makes and you've seen this all year
- 10:12Speaker 1: where he makes mistakes and it's no one else's fault,
- 10:15Speaker 1: but Aaron Rodgers fault. A lot of bad interceptions, a
- 10:17Speaker 1: lot of bad decisions, and it's all on him. Well,
- 10:20Speaker 1: last week they had the magical win against Dallas Or
- 10:23Speaker 1: everything seemed to come together and say, okay, it's about consistency.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Can they do this again? And I just think they
- 10:30Speaker 1: have so many issues that they can't. If I was
- 10:32Speaker 1: with the Packers, I would definitely try to get Jordan's
- 10:34Speaker 1: love in there at some point. But I know for
- 10:37Speaker 1: sure that that organization, as much as they've given up
- 10:40Speaker 1: and given an acquiesced to Aaron Rodgers, that they're not
- 10:43Speaker 1: going to do that. They're gonna keep playing him right
- 10:45Speaker 1: to the very end. Yeah, you mentioned that Minnesota Vikings
- 10:47Speaker 1: lead five game lead six in the lost column. If
- 10:51Speaker 1: you're the Packers of the NFC North, you could say
- 10:53Speaker 1: goodbye to that. But hopefully for their sake, they can
- 10:56Speaker 1: make a run at the wild card. Judy Mark Both
- 10:58Speaker 1: much more from you a little later in the show,
- 11:00Speaker 1: Thank you very much. At Tennessee Titans celebration perhaps short
- 11:03Speaker 1: lived as Titans offense of coordinator Todd Downing It's new
- 11:06Speaker 1: right Now was arrested early Friday morning for driving under
- 11:10Speaker 1: the influence. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Downing was
- 11:13Speaker 1: booked into Williamson County Jail and later posted bond. Here's
- 11:17Speaker 1: Mike Frabel's reaction moments ago. It's an incident. That come up,
- 11:23Speaker 1: came up. It's an it's something that we are going
- 11:26Speaker 1: to take very seriously. We're going to gather all the
- 11:33Speaker 1: information that we can figure out what the next step
- 11:38Speaker 1: is and uh and and do our best to move forward. Um.
- 11:43Speaker 1: So I don't think discouraged. You know, it's something that
- 11:49Speaker 1: that I've thought about today. So that's Mike Frabel's reaction.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Here is a statement from the Tennessee Titans. We are
- 11:55Speaker 1: aware of the reports regarding Todd Downing and are in
- 11:58Speaker 1: the process of gathering additional information. Now a statement from
- 12:02Speaker 1: the NFL. We have been in contact with the Titans
- 12:04Speaker 1: regarding the matter, which will be reviewed. All league and
- 12:07Speaker 1: club personnel, including coaches, are subject to potential discipline when
- 12:10Speaker 1: a violation is determined to have been committed. There is
- 12:14Speaker 1: a policy that prohibits alcohol on team planes and busses.
- 12:18Speaker 1: For much more on this story, we welcome back, are
- 12:20Speaker 1: Ian rappaport Ian. What more can you tell us on
- 12:23Speaker 1: this Tennessee Titans situation. Yeah, after maybe one of the
- 12:27Speaker 1: best games of his young career, Todd Downing helping the
- 12:30Speaker 1: Titans offense really creative fashion beat the Green Bay Packers
- 12:33Speaker 1: on the road. This ends up happening in the Tennessee Titans,
- 12:37Speaker 1: as they mentioned, are conducting an investigation to try to
- 12:40Speaker 1: figure out how all this happened. What was he allegedly drinking?
- 12:45Speaker 1: Where did he get it? Was it on a team plane?
- 12:47Speaker 1: Of course, that is drinking alcohol and team planes is banned.
- 12:51Speaker 1: A lot more to come on this certainly has become
- 12:54Speaker 1: a hot button issue. Meanwhile, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, as
- 12:58Speaker 1: far as their details regarding the arrest of Todd Downey,
- 13:02Speaker 1: who was UH ended up leaving bonding out of jail
- 13:07Speaker 1: or bonding out of prison, I should say near seven
- 13:10Speaker 1: am this morning. They observed him driving on I six
- 13:14Speaker 1: around two thirty am what police say was a high
- 13:17Speaker 1: rate of speed. They observed signs of impairment and a
- 13:20Speaker 1: smell of intoxication inside the vehicle. UH. No mention of
- 13:24Speaker 1: a breathalyzer test or field sobriety exams. We'll see if
- 13:28Speaker 1: there's more details on that. Downing was then placed under
- 13:31Speaker 1: arrest UH and yes, he can be discipline under the
- 13:35Speaker 1: NFL's Personal Conduct policy. We have seen other team officials
- 13:38Speaker 1: be disciplined for similar offenses, but usually those things play
- 13:43Speaker 1: out in the courts before there is disciplines. We'll see
- 13:46Speaker 1: if the Titans actor, if they wait for the NFL
- 13:48Speaker 1: to act eventually. Yeah, I was gonna say that. I
- 13:50Speaker 1: and usually we see when players are involved in the
- 13:52Speaker 1: NFL waits for the entire judicial process to play out
- 13:55Speaker 1: before discipline. Will see at the same rule applies for coaches. Meanwhile,
- 13:59Speaker 1: back on the field, big showdown coming up ian between
- 14:02Speaker 1: the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys, who have been
- 14:04Speaker 1: with to Ezekiel Elliott for a couple of games. What's
- 14:07Speaker 1: the latest on their star running back. No, there is
- 14:10Speaker 1: optimism that Ezekiel Elliott will be back on Sunday. It's
- 14:13Speaker 1: not finally yet. And there were times last week, oh Mark,
- 14:16Speaker 1: when a lot of people thought Zekelly would play. They
- 14:18Speaker 1: just didn't want to put him in harm's way to
- 14:20Speaker 1: get him out there. I wanted to make sure he
- 14:21Speaker 1: was as recovered as possible before he played. Cowboys do
- 14:25Speaker 1: feel like he is in a good place with his knee.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Did a little more this week than he did last week.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Should be able to go and run a ramp it
- 14:32Speaker 1: up tomorrow. Member Saturday is a big practice day for
- 14:34Speaker 1: the Cowboys, not really Friday, so we'll see tomorrow what
- 14:37Speaker 1: his status is. But it does look pretty good for
- 14:39Speaker 1: Ezekiel Elliott and it also sounds like the Minnesota Vikings escape.
- 14:43Speaker 1: They scare when Justin Jefferson, their star receiver, popped up
- 14:46Speaker 1: this week with a toe injury. He's been limited all week,
- 14:50Speaker 1: but from what I understand, this is not considered to
- 14:52Speaker 1: be a major thing, so they do believe that he
- 14:54Speaker 1: will be out there on Sunday. Of course, Justin Jefferson
- 14:57Speaker 1: coming off one of the great all time performances we've
- 15:00Speaker 1: seen a wide receiver have not only with the production
- 15:02Speaker 1: but the incredibly cutch performance and helping the Vikings beat
- 15:06Speaker 1: the Bills in Orchard Park. Still to come here on
- 15:08Speaker 1: NFL now, Patriots tight end hunter Henry set to join us.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Can't wait to get his thoughts on that being showdown
- 15:15Speaker 1: with the Jets this upcoming weekend. That's coming up right
- 15:18Speaker 1: here on NFL. Now. All right, all right, all right,
- 15:22Speaker 1: and they even got enough change in the media. Double
- 15:24Speaker 1: partner Guy Bain and a beta hub Frankie Company. Let's
- 15:30Speaker 1: take a look back at week eight, the last time
- 15:31Speaker 1: the Patriots and Jets got together. This one was at
- 15:34Speaker 1: the Meadowlands where he saw Mac Jones and Bailey Zappy
- 15:37Speaker 1: warning up. This one was Mac Jones picked off by
- 15:40Speaker 1: Michael Carter. It looks like it's gonna be an eighties
- 15:42Speaker 1: six yard pick six certainly changed the tone of this game.
- 15:47Speaker 1: That would have given the Jets a fourteen point lead
- 15:51Speaker 1: at the half. Instead, Jonathan Franklin Myers was called for
- 15:55Speaker 1: roughing the passer. It was brought back to Patriots would
- 15:57Speaker 1: cut the lead with a jewel goal to four points,
- 16:00Speaker 1: and then in the second half they had come alive.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Jacobe Myers gets into the end zone as a Patriots
- 16:05Speaker 1: took a thirteen ten lead at that point. Mac Jones
- 16:08Speaker 1: a yards on the day, But it was the defense
- 16:11Speaker 1: the story of this one. Zack Wilson throws the vall
- 16:14Speaker 1: to Devin mccordy, one of three picks for the Patriots defense,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and they go on to win seventeen. And you look
- 16:22Speaker 1: at the a f C East standings. Now, every game
- 16:25Speaker 1: in the a f C East right now is a showdown,
- 16:27Speaker 1: because all four teams right now in the a f
- 16:30Speaker 1: C playoff picture would be in including those five and
- 16:33Speaker 1: four New England Patriots who have won a couple of
- 16:35Speaker 1: games in their own where please and welcome in now, Hunter,
- 16:38Speaker 1: Henry tight End for the Patriots. You guys are coming
- 16:41Speaker 1: off your buy Hunter, how you guys feeling right now?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Feeling good? Feeling good? It's always it was a nice
- 16:46Speaker 1: place for the bye in our season. So ready to
- 16:49Speaker 1: go down the home stretch. Hunter. The Jets are in
- 16:52Speaker 1: the middle of sort of a historic turnaround on their
- 16:54Speaker 1: defense from literally the worst defense last year to top
- 16:58Speaker 1: ten and scoring in total defense. What kind of challenges
- 17:01Speaker 1: are they presenting right now for you? Yeah, they're good
- 17:04Speaker 1: at all levels, man, and they've they've played together, they
- 17:07Speaker 1: known the scheme, they play hard, they have a great front.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I mean, they just they present a lot of challenges.
- 17:14Speaker 1: They're really really good, and we're gonna have to be
- 17:16Speaker 1: ready to go, ready to to match it come Sunday.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I mean that we know they're gonna be ready to
- 17:20Speaker 1: go coming in here. Yeah, Hunter, we just saw those
- 17:23Speaker 1: those playoffs standings. Number one, what do you think of
- 17:25Speaker 1: the fact that all of you are in the playoff
- 17:28Speaker 1: position right now? And also what's it gonna take for
- 17:30Speaker 1: you guys to win that division? Because that's certainly within grasp. Yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 1: I mean, it's it just shows, man, we we've got
- 17:38Speaker 1: a lot of competition out here, and the division is tough.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Everybody's ready to go. Everybody came ready to play, and
- 17:44Speaker 1: they're showing up weekend, week out, And that's really what
- 17:47Speaker 1: it's gonna take coming down this home stretches. I mean,
- 17:49Speaker 1: just showing it, taking a week by week, showing up
- 17:51Speaker 1: each Sunday, whatever whatever day it is. We have some
- 17:54Speaker 1: Thursday games coming up. I mean, just just getting ready
- 17:56Speaker 1: to go. Um. So you know, we'll approach it, but
- 17:59Speaker 1: you gotta approach it a game by game basis. You
- 18:03Speaker 1: guys had sort of a rough start to this season
- 18:05Speaker 1: and maybe settled in a little bit now in the
- 18:07Speaker 1: last month or so. I wonder, offensively, where do you
- 18:10Speaker 1: think the offense is right now in its development? Yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 1: we're doing good man, We're you know, we gott We've
- 18:18Speaker 1: gotta get a lot better than what we showed the
- 18:19Speaker 1: last few weeks coming coming into the bye. But this
- 18:22Speaker 1: past week, you know, we went over a lot of things.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Try to address some things and come out and be
- 18:27Speaker 1: ready to go. When we come out, we gotta start faster,
- 18:30Speaker 1: start beating stop beating ourselves, stop turning the ball over penalties,
- 18:33Speaker 1: getting back to putting ourselves in long yardage situations. It's
- 18:38Speaker 1: it's just beating ourselves. We gotta stop doing that and
- 18:42Speaker 1: stay ahead of the sticks and just continue to move
- 18:44Speaker 1: the ball and score points at the end of the day.
- 18:46Speaker 1: You may or may not have heard this. We've all
- 18:48Speaker 1: heard it a ton that the Patriots have beaten the
- 18:51Speaker 1: Jets thirteen straight times. This is a huge psychological hurdle
- 18:55Speaker 1: for the Jets to get over. But on the Patriots side,
- 18:59Speaker 1: what does that mean to you guys? If if anything, well,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I mean I wasn't a part of all of those.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I mean I was only a part of a couple
- 19:07Speaker 1: of them. But I remember, it's a new game, it's
- 19:10Speaker 1: a new team, it's a new situation, it's a new Sunday.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I mean, every every game is you know, is its
- 19:16Speaker 1: own tail basically, you know, it's it's it's not what
- 19:19Speaker 1: it used to be in the past. We're not paying
- 19:21Speaker 1: attention to that. We're paying attention to what we gotta
- 19:23Speaker 1: do on Sunday against this team. All those other teams
- 19:25Speaker 1: are different. We're different. So, um, we just gotta be
- 19:28Speaker 1: ready to go come this Sunday. Under you hear Judy
- 19:30Speaker 1: mentioned the development of the offense. What about mac Jones.
- 19:33Speaker 1: He's still a young quarterback. Year number two obviously took
- 19:36Speaker 1: you guys to the playoffs. Uh there in his rookie year.
- 19:38Speaker 1: What have you seen from him that suggests, you know,
- 19:41Speaker 1: big growth here in year two? Yeah, I mean he's
- 19:45Speaker 1: a leader, man. He's really stepped up in his leadership communication,
- 19:49Speaker 1: especially with the school guys, just trying to talk through things.
- 19:51Speaker 1: So just trying to continue to get better. We're all growing,
- 19:54Speaker 1: We're all kind of trying to evolve as the season goes,
- 19:56Speaker 1: and we gotta be, like I said, a lot better
- 19:58Speaker 1: coming out of this by and continue to improve and
- 20:01Speaker 1: kind of stack some some plays on top of each other,
- 20:05Speaker 1: really score some points down this home stretch. We've seen
- 20:07Speaker 1: analytics a lot more a part of the NFL in
- 20:10Speaker 1: recent years, Hunter, and because of that, a lot more
- 20:12Speaker 1: teams are going for it on fourth down. And oh,
- 20:15Speaker 1: in high school, you played for Kevin Kelly, who always
- 20:18Speaker 1: went for it on fourth down. What was that like
- 20:20Speaker 1: and what do you think of this new style of
- 20:22Speaker 1: aggressiveness in the NFL? Yeah, it was it was different,
- 20:28Speaker 1: especially coming into it in high school. I mean we
- 20:31Speaker 1: never I think we punned one time in four years
- 20:33Speaker 1: and that was a weird situation. So you know, we
- 20:36Speaker 1: were ultra ultra aggressive. It led to a lot of wins.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I will say, I mean we we we dominated the
- 20:42Speaker 1: Arkansas landscape of high school football for a while and
- 20:45Speaker 1: I think they still are. UM. So yeah, it's it's
- 20:48Speaker 1: fun to see man um. You know, it's obviously it's
- 20:52Speaker 1: big for your offense to stay on the field. It's
- 20:54Speaker 1: big to continue to stay points. It puts a lot
- 20:56Speaker 1: of pressure on the defense too, and on their team. UM.
- 20:58Speaker 1: So it's always fun to see. I mean, you know,
- 21:00Speaker 1: I have a lot of experience obviously in it, and
- 21:02Speaker 1: so it's fun to see hunter us one. Bill Belichick
- 21:06Speaker 1: always says, you want to be playing your best football
- 21:08Speaker 1: going into December and hopefully going into January. Where do
- 21:12Speaker 1: you think the Patriots are on that timeline right now? Yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 1: I mean we're about you know, we gotta go show
- 21:19Speaker 1: it this Sunday. I think we're progressing. We've continued to
- 21:23Speaker 1: get better, and I think the boy came at a
- 21:25Speaker 1: good time, like I said, and we got kind of
- 21:27Speaker 1: refreshed and ready to kind of take this home stretch.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I mean we've got eight games down the stretch. We
- 21:31Speaker 1: got three and um, you know, eleven days coming up too,
- 21:35Speaker 1: So we got a big chunk here for us, and
- 21:38Speaker 1: you know we we just gotta be locked in, take
- 21:40Speaker 1: a week by week and continue to get better, continue
- 21:43Speaker 1: to progress, continue to lock in and finish this season
- 21:45Speaker 1: the right way. Patriots. Second half of your year starts
- 21:48Speaker 1: on Sunday with a big a f C showdown against
- 21:50Speaker 1: the New York Jets. Hunter Henry, thank you for joining us,
- 21:53Speaker 1: and good luck the rest of the way. Alright, guys,
- 21:55Speaker 1: appreciate you all still to come here on NFL Now,
- 21:59Speaker 1: say Kwon Barkley going up against the Detroit Lions and
- 22:03Speaker 1: that poorout USh defense, how much will he fees on Sunday?
- 22:08Speaker 1: Will start to break that one down next on NFL
- 22:10Speaker 1: Now the same do right now into NFL Network. A
- 22:17Speaker 1: couple of major injury news ahead of some primetime showdowns
- 22:21Speaker 1: this upcoming weekend. Juju Smith Schuster has been ruled out
- 22:25Speaker 1: of the Chiefs showdown with the Chargers on Sunday Night.
- 22:28Speaker 1: That according to Andy Reid, Juju of course dealing with
- 22:31Speaker 1: a concussion he suffered last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Meanwhile,
- 22:35Speaker 1: the Arizona Cardinals preparing to go to Mexico City and
- 22:39Speaker 1: face the San Francisco forty Niners. Kyler Murray, according to
- 22:43Speaker 1: Cliff Kingsbury, will be a game time decision as they
- 22:46Speaker 1: continue to monitor his hamstring. Of course, Colt McCoy started
- 22:49Speaker 1: against the Rams last weekend, leading the Cardinals to a win. Again,
- 22:53Speaker 1: Kyler Murray game time decision for Monday night. Meanwhile, Jared
- 22:57Speaker 1: Goff and Daniel Jones they're set to go off against
- 22:59Speaker 1: one another as the Giants host the Lions at the Meadowlands.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Giants seven and two or better for the first time
- 23:06Speaker 1: since two thousand eight. Here's Dan Campbell. I'm Brian Dable
- 23:10Speaker 1: on the Giants. Yeah, I got a lot of respect
- 23:14Speaker 1: for Dave's and uh, he's he's a he's a sharp guy.
- 23:17Speaker 1: He's sharp. Uh, you know he he can think quick
- 23:21Speaker 1: on his feet. Um, really good teacher and uh, great personality.
- 23:26Speaker 1: You know, he's somebody just you know, he's infectious. You know,
- 23:28Speaker 1: he's somebody you want to be around. So um, look
- 23:32Speaker 1: at his team's playing hard and they play smart. You know.
- 23:34Speaker 1: There again, they don't make mistakes and that's why they're
- 23:36Speaker 1: winning games. For more in this matchup, we welcome back
- 23:39Speaker 1: Jete Batista and Steve White. She's at the Giants facility
- 23:42Speaker 1: there in New Jersey. Steve will start with you sa
- 23:45Speaker 1: Kwon Barkley putting up m v P type of numbers
- 23:47Speaker 1: here during the year. What did Brian Dable say about
- 23:49Speaker 1: usage from st Kwon Barkley this season? Yeah, Mark Jude
- 23:53Speaker 1: and I have swapped seats for the day and our
- 23:55Speaker 1: locales for our reports. Um, but look you sa Kwon
- 23:59Speaker 1: Barkley's coming off of a season high thirty five carries
- 24:01Speaker 1: last week against Houston. So coach Dayball Brian of Ball
- 24:05Speaker 1: was asked today whether he might scale back the number
- 24:09Speaker 1: of touches for sake Kwon Barkley against the Lions, especially
- 24:13Speaker 1: because the Giants played the Cowboys on Thursday, and Dave
- 24:16Speaker 1: Ball said that is not necessarily of the plan. Of course,
- 24:19Speaker 1: the flow of the game will dictate how much they
- 24:21Speaker 1: use Barkley. But there are two elements that factor into
- 24:24Speaker 1: Barkley's us It's one, they're playing against the Lions defense,
- 24:28Speaker 1: the worst ranked defense in the NFL thirty first ranked
- 24:31Speaker 1: run defense, so that's Taylor made for Barkley. But also,
- 24:35Speaker 1: it is going to be about thirty five degrees with
- 24:38Speaker 1: wind gust up to twenty not I ideal to throw
- 24:42Speaker 1: the ball Judy. So again, two elements that really make
- 24:45Speaker 1: it seem like this game is Taylor made for sake
- 24:48Speaker 1: Kwon Barkley to get a lot of touches. Yeah, and
- 24:50Speaker 1: let's be clear, this is the identity of the New
- 24:53Speaker 1: York Giants. They run the ball and they play defense.
- 24:56Speaker 1: They want to limit the passing game. That's how they've
- 24:59Speaker 1: been winning all these games. So the idea that they
- 25:02Speaker 1: would go very off course and very much away from
- 25:05Speaker 1: s Kuon Barkley just doesn't make any sense. He runs
- 25:08Speaker 1: the ball with consistency and with power, as you pointed out,
- 25:12Speaker 1: thirty five rushes for a hundred fifty two yards and
- 25:14Speaker 1: a touchdown against the Texans. For me, this game almost
- 25:18Speaker 1: feels like a repeat of that Texans game. The Texans
- 25:21Speaker 1: defense is not good against the Russian neither are the
- 25:24Speaker 1: Detroit Lions. But the Detroit Lions have the capacity to
- 25:27Speaker 1: score more than the Texans do. And so again you
- 25:30Speaker 1: have to watch what the flow of the game is.
- 25:32Speaker 1: But if this is a close game, and they're all
- 25:35Speaker 1: close games for the New York Giants, let's be clear,
- 25:37Speaker 1: they don't blow opponents out, They're going to put the
- 25:40Speaker 1: ball in the hands of their best player, that is
- 25:42Speaker 1: sae Quon and they are going to ride him as
- 25:45Speaker 1: far as they possibly can. They are in playoff position
- 25:47Speaker 1: because of se Kwon Barkley, They're not going to deviate
- 25:50Speaker 1: from this plan much. Right now. The Giants are four
- 25:52Speaker 1: into this season in games in which they trailed in
- 25:55Speaker 1: the fourth quarter, so certainly they hang in there all
- 25:58Speaker 1: game long. Meanwhile, for the Lions, Jared Goff and that
- 26:01Speaker 1: offense one in three on the road this season. As
- 26:03Speaker 1: Steve you mentioned the weather conditions on and it will
- 26:05Speaker 1: be in the thirties. How will that affect the Lions offense. Well,
- 26:10Speaker 1: here's what affects the Lions offense, and that is their
- 26:12Speaker 1: offensive line facing the stout Giants defensive line. And I've
- 26:17Speaker 1: been speaking to people from both units, from both teams,
- 26:21Speaker 1: and you can tell this is where the game is
- 26:22Speaker 1: gonna be gonna be really detailed because the Lions is
- 26:26Speaker 1: speaking to them some players there they feel that there's
- 26:29Speaker 1: not a front or an elite level talent that they
- 26:32Speaker 1: have not seen or that they are not prepared for
- 26:36Speaker 1: on Sunday. Whereas you look at the Giants and nose
- 26:39Speaker 1: tackle Dexter Lawrence is absolutely wrecking offensive lines this season,
- 26:43Speaker 1: along with Leonard Williams, who was just fantastic last week
- 26:46Speaker 1: against Houston. They feel that across the board they have
- 26:50Speaker 1: got the scheme and the personnel that matches up really
- 26:52Speaker 1: well against the Lions. The both sides are respecting one
- 26:55Speaker 1: another and how tough it can be, but this is
- 26:57Speaker 1: really where the battle will be won. And for Detroit's
- 27:00Speaker 1: offensive line. As Judy just said, the Lions can score,
- 27:03Speaker 1: they can hang thirty on just about everybody, and if
- 27:05Speaker 1: they play well, they could give Jared Goff and that
- 27:08Speaker 1: running game an opportunity to do some things. Yeah, the
- 27:10Speaker 1: Lions have won two in a row after that rough
- 27:12Speaker 1: start here in two season, looking to surprise the Giants
- 27:16Speaker 1: on Sunday, Steve Judy, thank you both very much. Meanwhile,
- 27:20Speaker 1: speaking of se Kuon, Barkley seems to be the Sa
- 27:22Speaker 1: Kuan of old, putting up these huge numbers for the Giants.
- 27:25Speaker 1: When it comes to fantasy football, he's definitely not a sleeper.
- 27:29Speaker 1: But if you do need a good Fantasy sleeper for
- 27:31Speaker 1: Week eleven, here's our Fantasy Live crew with a handful
- 27:34Speaker 1: for you to choose from. It's Week eleven. We got fies,
- 27:38Speaker 1: we got injuries, we got guys who are under performing.
- 27:41Speaker 1: We need sleepers. Who are those guys that we need
- 27:43Speaker 1: to be paying attention to this week? Florio? Who is
- 27:46Speaker 1: your sleeper for this week? I'm gonna go with Darius
- 27:48Speaker 1: Slayton from the New York Giants because he's been playing
- 27:51Speaker 1: really good football as of late. He's been averaging over
- 27:54Speaker 1: twelve Fantasy points per game in his last five games.
- 27:57Speaker 1: He's getting the Lions, who give up a bunch of
- 28:00Speaker 1: production through the air, and even if the Giants look
- 28:03Speaker 1: to run the ball and rely more on Sae Kwon Barlee,
- 28:05Speaker 1: Slaine is the big play threat there, so he could
- 28:07Speaker 1: have a good fantasy game even on a limited volume.
- 28:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with a Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver,
- 28:14Speaker 1: somebody that you know. It's Justin Watson. No, listen, Justin Watson,
- 28:18Speaker 1: who I know a lot of you are probably think
- 28:20Speaker 1: I was gonna say to Darius Tony, but Heaven forbade
- 28:22Speaker 1: those people would come into my mentions, be like here,
- 28:24Speaker 1: Darius Tony was picked up eighteen weeks. I got it,
- 28:26Speaker 1: So go with Justin Watson. We've seen an increase in production.
- 28:30Speaker 1: He'd like forty five snaps last week, which was his
- 28:32Speaker 1: most maybe ever. So I want to be a part
- 28:35Speaker 1: of this offense, who over the last three games against
- 28:38Speaker 1: the Chargers is throwing eight touchdown passes. So if you're
- 28:41Speaker 1: in dire need of a wide receiver, the waiver wire
- 28:44Speaker 1: is Barren. I implore you to take a look at
- 28:47Speaker 1: Justin Watson. Well, I'm looking at a rookie wide receiver
- 28:50Speaker 1: who has the same last name as his quarterback. That's
- 28:53Speaker 1: Garrett Wilson. Yes, he's playing the Patriots. I understand that
- 28:56Speaker 1: defense brings a lot of pressure. Matt Judean is crushing it. However,
- 29:00Speaker 1: in their last matchup in Week eight, he at a
- 29:02Speaker 1: hundred and fifteen receiving years. I actually think that number
- 29:05Speaker 1: could necessarily not as quite as high, but he could
- 29:07Speaker 1: reach the end zone in this one because in order
- 29:10Speaker 1: to get away from pressure, you need to use short passes.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Harrett Wilson's been lining up all over that formation, and
- 29:16Speaker 1: I think he's used a ton ton the targets. Well,
- 29:18Speaker 1: we don't always talk about sleeper defenses, but I got one,
- 29:21Speaker 1: and that's going to be the New Orleans Saints. And
- 29:22Speaker 1: I know they've underperformed this year, but a very good
- 29:25Speaker 1: matchup against the Rams, and let's just game this out.
- 29:27Speaker 1: The Rams offense, well, it's been bad. Cooper Cup, he's good.
- 29:31Speaker 1: The problem is Cooper Cup is hurt, so that means
- 29:33Speaker 1: the Rams offense is going to be worse. There's only
- 29:35Speaker 1: four teams in the league that have given up more
- 29:37Speaker 1: sacks than the Rams, only four teams that have had
- 29:40Speaker 1: more giveaways than the Rams. That seems like a good
- 29:42Speaker 1: opportunity for the Saints to get on the good foot
- 29:44Speaker 1: and put up some fantasy points before you. You want
- 29:46Speaker 1: information like that and a whole lot more. Puts a
- 29:48Speaker 1: little bit of fun and some weirdness thrown, and be
- 29:50Speaker 1: sure to check out NFL Fantasy Live every single weekday.
- 29:54Speaker 1: All right, Thank you, Marcus, Thank you crew. New right
- 29:57Speaker 1: now into NFL Network, Sean McVeigh saying, Matthew Stafford is
- 30:01Speaker 1: expected to clear concussion protocol today and will be expected
- 30:05Speaker 1: to play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints in New
- 30:08Speaker 1: Orleans on Sunday again, Matthew Stafford expected to play on
- 30:12Speaker 1: Sunday site of the Rams NFC Championship game. Win NFL
