- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Hey, we've got a final hour, our third hour. That's right,
- 0:11Speaker 2: we start at 9 o'clock every day now. So, President
- 0:14Speaker 2: Trump has given a big interview to Time Magazine. The
- 0:18Speaker 2: left going nuts now. The interview is leaking out. Mediaite.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Mediaite is a very left-wing, very slanted website. They said...
- 0:30Speaker 2: The five wildest moments from Trump's Time Magazine interview. Wildest
- 0:35Speaker 2: moments means the left wing picks up on this. Apparently
- 0:39Speaker 2: in the interview, he lashed out at all the Supreme
- 0:42Speaker 2: Court decisions and said he regrets all of his Supreme
- 0:46Speaker 2: Court picks. That would be Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett
- 0:51Speaker 2: says he regrets every one of them. Okay, that's supposed
- 0:54Speaker 2: to be the wildest moment. Here's the other wild moment,
- 0:56Speaker 2: according to the mediaite. Trump ramps up Caitlin Collins attacks. Well,
- 1:02Speaker 2: everybody hates, I mean, except for the left, everybody hates
- 1:06Speaker 2: this Caitlin Collins. Angry, nasty, slanted, biased, and oh, look
- 1:12Speaker 2: at this, Trump threatens to add New York Times to
- 1:14Speaker 2: the media ban. All right, that's fine. It's, you know,
- 1:18Speaker 2: there are a lot of people that read it still
- 1:20Speaker 2: think it's the New York Times, the prestigious paper of record.
- 1:23Speaker 2: It's just a slanted, slanted, it's beyond slanted. They don't
- 1:28Speaker 2: even If you're a New York Times reader, a lot
- 1:30Speaker 2: of the news is withheld from you. A lot of
- 1:32Speaker 2: information is deliberately withheld from you. You're getting misled on
- 1:35Speaker 2: a lot of things. For instance, this awful hijacking by
- 1:39Speaker 2: this radical extremist religious fanatic terrorist from Oman, the guy
- 1:45Speaker 2: that tried to crash the plane. He's a terrorist. We
- 1:48Speaker 2: know that. We knew that right away. But New York
- 1:51Speaker 2: Times yesterday said it was an altercation among employees. An
- 1:56Speaker 2: altercation among employees. So if you're reading the Times, you're
- 1:59Speaker 2: really missing a lot of news. The other bombshells from
- 2:03Speaker 2: the interview. Trump says he'll pardon his staffers. Well, I
- 2:09Speaker 2: guess that's going to be the tradition now. Biden created
- 2:11Speaker 2: this whole thing where you pardon all your own officials
- 2:15Speaker 2: before you leave office. And I guess every president will
- 2:17Speaker 2: do that from now on. Here's number four. Trump insists
- 2:21Speaker 2: that he met his timeline on Iran. Well, I think
- 2:24Speaker 2: they thought that would be a couple of weeks. It's
- 2:27Speaker 2: seven months, but it's not really seven months. You know,
- 2:30Speaker 2: if you watch the left-wing news, they'll say, as the
- 2:33Speaker 2: war enters, it's seven months. Yeah, but it's only like
- 2:38Speaker 2: 12 days out of seven months. It's the strangest war ever.
- 2:42Speaker 2: They go to war, missiles, bombs, firing, shooting, the war
- 2:47Speaker 2: for one day. And then they say, you know what?
- 2:49Speaker 2: We'll see you next month. We'll resume in 15 days.
- 2:52Speaker 2: And so it's a day. It's like one day a month.
- 2:57Speaker 2: We've never seen a war like that. Once every month
- 2:59Speaker 2: to come out and fight for a day. That's about it. Oh,
- 3:03Speaker 2: and number five, wildest moment, according to the left-wing site, Mediaite,
- 3:07Speaker 2: Trump snaps at the interviewer about not asking one blanking
- 3:12Speaker 2: positive question. Well, that's a good point. That's a very
- 3:16Speaker 2: good point. If they were interviewing Obama or Biden, they
- 3:19Speaker 2: would ask some positive stuff, but it's all vicious, negative questions. Very, very,
- 3:26Speaker 2: very slanted. Hey, Britain just fallen apart. Left-wing kooks have
- 3:31Speaker 2: taken over Britain. So the new thing now is they're
- 3:34Speaker 2: releasing all their prisoners, thousands and thousands of prisoners just
- 3:39Speaker 2: released into the streets, which means, you know, one thing
- 3:41Speaker 2: about the London, Britain, crime-free. Remember years ago, the police,
- 3:45Speaker 2: why they don't even carry guns. It's so crime-free. Now
- 3:49Speaker 2: it's street crime, crime everywhere. And they're releasing thousands of prisoners.
- 3:54Speaker 2: This is an Andrew Cuomo type thing. You remember when
- 3:57Speaker 2: Cuomo was governor, he not only closed the prisons and
- 4:00Speaker 2: released prisoners, he bragged about it. He bragged about being
- 4:03Speaker 2: the governor who's closed more prisons than any other governor.
- 4:08Speaker 2: You see these stories in the news, some lunatic nut
- 4:11Speaker 2: job or some awful guy beat up somebody, stabbed somebody
- 4:15Speaker 2: on the subway, attacked somebody, raped somebody. Very often you
- 4:17Speaker 2: read the story, it's one of these people they released
- 4:20Speaker 2: from prison. Just let them loose. Trump getting a lot
- 4:24Speaker 2: of flack over a TV ad that was put together.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It's an ad. I guess it's promoting him, but it's really,
- 4:32Speaker 2: I don't know, it's just promoting the government, federal government,
- 4:36Speaker 2: the administration, paid for by taxpayer money. So they're yelling
- 4:40Speaker 2: and screaming, as they always do, that this is illegal.
- 4:44Speaker 2: You can't use taxpayer money to fund a campaign ad.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But Trump points out. I'm not running for office, first
- 4:52Speaker 2: of all.
- 4:53Speaker 3: And so the answer, you know, given by me, but
- 4:56Speaker 3: I'm not running for office and I don't talk about anybody.
- 5:00Speaker 2: That's a very good point. How could it be a
- 5:02Speaker 2: campaign ad if there's no campaign? He's not running for anything.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I'm not promoting.
- 5:07Speaker 3: You have to understand, I'm not promoting a candidate.
- 5:10Speaker 4: I'm not promoting myself because I'm not running for office.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I'm promoting the country. Now, I played to this before,
- 5:16Speaker 2: even the CNN pollster saying Democrats could get wiped out
- 5:20Speaker 2: in November. You know, if you read the fake polls
- 5:23Speaker 2: and all of that, they make it sound like Republicans
- 5:26Speaker 2: have no chance in the midterms. Well, it may be
- 5:29Speaker 2: the other way around. In the real polls, it's too
- 5:31Speaker 2: close to call. And it's all going to be about turnout.
- 5:34Speaker 2: If Republicans turn out, they're going to win. If Republicans
- 5:37Speaker 2: stay home, Democrats have a good shot. But here's the
- 5:39Speaker 2: real interesting key to all this. You know, the fake
- 5:43Speaker 2: polls keep trying to convince everybody Democrats have a big lead.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That's not the case. Those are the fake polls. Now,
- 5:51Speaker 2: listen to this. Chuck Schumer, in this big interview here,
- 5:55Speaker 2: Chuck Schumer, first of all, he says he's going to
- 5:59Speaker 2: run again for the Senate leader among the Democratic leader.
- 6:03Speaker 2: He's 75 years old. The Democrats hate Schumer. He's a crusty, nasty, old,
- 6:10Speaker 2: useless politician, cheap politician from years ago. The new breed
- 6:14Speaker 2: of Democrats, they don't like these useless old senators. But
- 6:18Speaker 2: he says he will run for a Senate leader again.
- 6:20Speaker 2: But here's the thing. In the interview, he's warning now,
- 6:24Speaker 2: warning that Republicans may steal the election. Republicans might steal
- 6:29Speaker 2: the election. Now, there's no reason to think that. There's
- 6:32Speaker 2: no evidence. Why would he all of a sudden be yelling,
- 6:34Speaker 2: watch out, the Republicans are going to steal the election?
- 6:37Speaker 2: Why would he keep saying that? Well, because he's seen
- 6:39Speaker 2: the internal polling and he's seen that Republicans might win.
- 6:43Speaker 2: So he's setting up this whole false narrative that they
- 6:46Speaker 2: stole it to explain why Suddenly they won. But that's
- 6:50Speaker 2: a good sign in the polling he's seeing that Republicans
- 6:52Speaker 2: look pretty strong. He's already yelling and screaming that they're
- 6:56Speaker 2: going to steal the election. Now, first of all, if
- 6:58Speaker 2: you claim they stole it, that's what they call election denying.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Remember how hard they came down on Trump when he
- 7:06Speaker 2: implied that Democrats stole the election? Remember how crazy they
- 7:10Speaker 2: got that Trump said it? Well, if a Democrat says it,
- 7:14Speaker 2: it's just fine. They don't worry at all. Hey, Yankees
- 7:17Speaker 2: big win last night. Spike Lee apparently getting into a fight.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Spike Lee, you know, he's always there at the basketball games. Well,
- 7:24Speaker 2: now he's at the Yankee games and he came into
- 7:27Speaker 2: the legend suite. And I guess, you know, one thing
- 7:31Speaker 2: about Spike Lee, he's a very nice guy in real life.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And when he comes into the legend suite or wherever
- 7:36Speaker 2: it is, talks to everybody, he'll take pictures with everybody.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Even when he's sitting at a table, he'll have some
- 7:42Speaker 2: empty seats. Anybody can sit with him. He's a very
- 7:44Speaker 2: nice guy. with uh with people however there was a
- 7:48Speaker 2: lunatic or some nut job there screaming at him about
- 7:51Speaker 2: palestine uh a guy with a video you know with
- 7:55Speaker 2: a phone trying to video him saying i want you
- 7:59Speaker 2: to say f palestine i want you to say the
- 8:01Speaker 2: really bad guy so spike lee got a little crazy
- 8:05Speaker 2: and then jumped up and tried to attack the guy
- 8:07Speaker 2: people had to hold spike lee back it's quite a
- 8:11Speaker 2: story because when you're like 102 pounds i don't know
- 8:13Speaker 2: if you should be attacking anybody How hard was it
- 8:16Speaker 2: to hold him back? But they got the bad guy
- 8:20Speaker 2: out of the room, and he was gone. Hey, tonight
- 8:22Speaker 2: there's a debate. I think it's the Comptroller debate. And
- 8:27Speaker 2: then a week from now, there is the Attorney General debate.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Letitia James, you can throw her out, which you should
- 8:36Speaker 2: do on Election Day. Vote for the Republican. I can't
- 8:41Speaker 2: remember her name. It's a long name. But throw Letitia
- 8:44Speaker 2: James out of office. and get the Republican in there.
- 8:47Speaker 2: So we get a legitimate attorney general, not a crazed
- 8:52Speaker 2: partisan warfare, lawfare attorney general. And then the gubernatorial debate,
- 8:58Speaker 2: it'll be Blakeman against Hochul, is 12 days from now. Unfortunately,
- 9:03Speaker 2: it's on New York One, which nobody sees. Hochul would
- 9:07Speaker 2: not agree to any major real debate. Channel 2, Channel 4,
- 9:11Speaker 2: Channel 5, Channel 7, everybody tried to get Hochul to
- 9:15Speaker 2: debate Blakeman. She refused all debates. The only one she
- 9:18Speaker 2: accepted is little New York One because it has very
- 9:23Speaker 2: few viewers and because it's extremely biased. It's extremely left
- 9:28Speaker 2: wing at New York One. Very biased. And the moderator
- 9:32Speaker 2: will be Errol Lewis. Nice guy, but very biased left wing.
- 9:36Speaker 2: So Hoke will agree to that where she'll be protected
- 9:39Speaker 2: by them. That's the only debate with Blakeman. Which is
- 9:43Speaker 2: really unfair. I mean, she didn't take public money. She
- 9:46Speaker 2: was able to raise a ton of money. If you
- 9:48Speaker 2: don't take the public matching funds, then you don't have
- 9:52Speaker 2: to agree to any debates. And it's just awful. But
- 9:56Speaker 2: Hochul is not going to debate on any major stations.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Mamdani is, who knows what he's up to with this.
- 10:05Speaker 2: He's launching his anti-Semitism, fight against anti-Semitism. Nobody, no mayor
- 10:11Speaker 2: has ever done more to stir up the anti-Semitism. No
- 10:14Speaker 2: mayor has ever acted more anti-Semitic than Now he's pretending
- 10:19Speaker 2: to fight it. He's getting a lot of criticism. And
- 10:24Speaker 2: he's doing one of those, well, I'm only attacking Israel.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I'm not attacking Jews. You can't separate the two.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Sorry.
- 10:31Speaker 2: It doesn't work that way.
- 10:32Speaker 6: Criticism of a prime minister, criticism of government policy is
- 10:36Speaker 6: distinct from bigotry of a people. And what my job
- 10:41Speaker 6: is to ensure is not only that we are proud
- 10:43Speaker 6: of being the most Jewish city in the United States
- 10:45Speaker 6: of America... but that we also make this a city
- 10:47Speaker 6: where Jewish life can continue to flourish.
- 10:50Speaker 2: And nobody knows what the hell he's up to suddenly
- 10:52Speaker 2: pretending he's fighting anti-Semitism, suddenly pretending he loves Jews. Nobody
- 10:57Speaker 2: knows what this guy's about to pull with this stuff.
- 11:00Speaker 6: Frankly, you know, when it comes to criticism of the
- 11:03Speaker 6: Israeli prime minister or the Israeli government, that has no
- 11:06Speaker 6: bearing on our responsibility to keep Jewish New Yorkers safe.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Uh, yeah, but that's the cry of the anti-Semite. Oh,
- 11:13Speaker 2: I'm only attacking Israel. I'm only, uh, picking on Israel.
- 11:16Speaker 2: You know, Israel was the subject of a Holocaust on
- 11:20Speaker 2: October 7th. October 7th was a vicious Holocaust launch against Israel.
- 11:26Speaker 2: A horrible, horrible, horrible thing. And, uh, Netanyahu's doing what
- 11:31Speaker 2: he's supposed to do, responding as strong a response as
- 11:34Speaker 2: he can come up with. So, uh, nobody knows why
- 11:39Speaker 2: mamdani's suddenly doing this is it just to get the
- 11:42Speaker 2: heat off him for his anti-semitism or is it he's
- 11:45Speaker 2: got some crap uh planned and this is cover for
- 11:48Speaker 2: it i don't know bruce blakeman.
- 11:50Speaker 7: Still hasn't denounced global intifada the whole thing's a joke.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah no it's just it's just terrible so uh blakeman
- 11:58Speaker 2: running a lot of ads everywhere that's good and you
- 12:00Speaker 2: you can help the campaign you want to donate go
- 12:02Speaker 2: to blakeman for new york.com blakeman for new york.com um
- 12:09Speaker 2: Pete Hegseth getting a lot of criticism. You know, he's
- 12:11Speaker 2: just fired a bunch of generals. A lot of criticism.
- 12:15Speaker 2: And people, you know, the left wing. See, that's the
- 12:17Speaker 2: other thing. If you're a MS Now viewer, CNN viewer,
- 12:20Speaker 2: you don't know what's going on. These are great generals. Oh,
- 12:23Speaker 2: they've been there for years. How could he fire these generals? Well,
- 12:26Speaker 2: the truth is many of them are really bad, really political.
- 12:32Speaker 2: There are a lot of bad generals in there. They
- 12:34Speaker 2: needed to be fired. And good for Hegseth. Good for Hexeth,
- 12:37Speaker 2: he got it done.
- 12:38Speaker 7: Those who responded positively, which is most of them, are
- 12:42Speaker 7: leading newly focused and newly empowered and disciplined formations. Those
- 12:48Speaker 7: generals who did not, who clung to the woke department
- 12:52Speaker 7: or seem to think civilian control of the military is
- 12:56Speaker 7: simply a suggestion, well, they no longer work here.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, there were some bad generals there, the Mark Milley types.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I mean, really bad political operatives. trying to just wreak
- 13:08Speaker 2: havoc within the Pentagon. You can watch the video of them.
- 13:12Speaker 2: There's some funny video of Milley saying, you know, when
- 13:15Speaker 2: he refused to appear with Trump, I cannot get involved
- 13:18Speaker 2: in politics or issues ever in any way. It's wrong.
- 13:23Speaker 2: And then you cut that together with thousands and thousands
- 13:26Speaker 2: of videos of him taking extreme political stances, lashing out
- 13:30Speaker 2: on political issues. He was just a massive... political nonsense
- 13:35Speaker 2: and contradictions. Hey, why is this? Alcohol use declining. Why
- 13:42Speaker 2: is that exactly? It's going up on one age group,
- 13:44Speaker 2: 50 to 64. 50 to 64-year-olds, it's up 4%. Everywhere else,
- 13:49Speaker 2: it's going way down. Gen Z, it declined by more
- 13:52Speaker 2: than 5%. Millennials drinking 17% less. Why is that? Oh,
- 13:57Speaker 2: you know why? Pot, weed, it's everywhere. Who needs the
- 14:01Speaker 2: alcohol anymore? It's everywhere. Hey, what's the worst housing market
- 14:06Speaker 2: in America right now? If you go state by state,
- 14:09Speaker 2: if you try to sell a house, what's the worst
- 14:11Speaker 2: housing market in America right now? It's Florida. Florida is
- 14:18Speaker 2: one toughest place to sell a home right now. According
- 14:22Speaker 2: to the latest ranking, they did all 48 states, continental states.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Florida is at the bottom of the barrel. 210,000 homes
- 14:30Speaker 2: are up for sale. It's the biggest glut of any
- 14:34Speaker 2: state studied. Toughest place to sell a house right now. Florida,
- 14:38Speaker 2: really tough. What's the easiest place to sell a house?
- 14:41Speaker 2: Hottest market? Connecticut. Connecticut. Over half its homes, 56%, sold
- 14:51Speaker 2: above asking. That's the highest ranking of any state in
- 14:56Speaker 2: the nation. Hey, we'll take some calls next. 800- 800-321-0710
- 15:01Speaker 2: is the number. We look for new callers, too. If
- 15:04Speaker 2: you're a new caller, call us.
- 15:05Speaker 6: 800-321-0710.
- 15:05Speaker 2: We'll take some calls next.
- 15:06Speaker 1: 800-321-0710.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Much more Mark. Mark Simone.
- 15:07Speaker 1: On 710WOR.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Thank you, Shadow Stevens. Let's take some calls.
- 15:10Speaker 4: 800-321-0710.
- 15:25Speaker 5: 3-2-1-0-7-10.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike in Connecticut. Mike, how you doing?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Let me try it again. Mike, are you there? I
- 15:39Speaker 2: got him again. Mike from Connecticut. No, we lost him.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Let's go to John in Ronkonkoma. John, how you doing?
- 15:48Speaker 5: Doing good, Mark. How you doing?
- 15:49Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Hey, so what are your thoughts on what are the
- 15:55Speaker 5: chances that Jack Smith actually gets, you know, gets charged?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Well, everything he did was unethical, immoral, disgusting, creepy, partisan.
- 16:09Speaker 2: But there's a question as to whether anything was actually illegal.
- 16:13Speaker 2: He is getting sued right now. Some of the one
- 16:17Speaker 2: of the disgusting things he did was he investigated everybody
- 16:20Speaker 2: in Congress. senators, congressmen and women. He got their phone records,
- 16:25Speaker 2: their texts, their emails. There was no reason to do this.
- 16:28Speaker 2: He had no authority to do this. But he did it.
- 16:32Speaker 2: And Senator Marsha Blackburn is the first to sue him.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Hopefully others will file lawsuits against him. Hopefully he'll spend
- 16:39Speaker 2: the rest of his life in court getting sued. But
- 16:42Speaker 2: he's a creepy weirdo, bug-eyed, disgusting, dirty cop. Hopefully they will.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I don't know if they'll be able to prosecute him.
- 16:50Speaker 2: but hopefully they'll be suing him for the rest of
- 16:53Speaker 2: his life. Let's go to Tom in Queens. Tom, how
- 16:56Speaker 2: you doing?
- 16:57Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark.
- 16:59Speaker 8: So Ringo Starr is playing at Forest Hills tonight, first
- 17:03Speaker 8: time since 1964. Just wondering if you ever had a
- 17:07Speaker 8: chance to interview him or talk to him.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Yeah, a bunch of times. He's a very nice guy.
- 17:13Speaker 2: He's kind of a goofy, you know, I mean that
- 17:16Speaker 2: in a nice way. He's kind of a goofy, fun
- 17:18Speaker 2: sort of a guy. you know, Lennon was very serious.
- 17:21Speaker 2: McCartney is a little mixture of both. George Harrison was,
- 17:26Speaker 2: he was kind of shy, George Harrison, but smart guy.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Are you going to go see Ringo tonight?
- 17:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 8: It's supposed to be nice. It's outside, so it should.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Be a good night.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Yeah. All right.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Well, have fun tonight. You know, you go to a
- 17:41Speaker 2: McCartney concert. It's incredible. McCartney will do two hours. And
- 17:45Speaker 2: if you wanted to relive the Beatles music, it's McCartney
- 17:48Speaker 2: that can kind of really do that for you with
- 17:51Speaker 2: Ringo it's a little different how many records featured the
- 17:53Speaker 2: voice of Ringo Starr a handful but it's still Ringo
- 17:59Speaker 2: McCartney in incredible shape you know Ringo looking a little
- 18:04Speaker 2: older McCartney looks like hey looks older but he's pretty
- 18:07Speaker 2: I've never seen a guy like him do he'll do
- 18:09Speaker 2: a two-hour concert and never take a sip of water
- 18:13Speaker 2: the whole time it's unbelievable let's go to Mike in St.
- 18:16Speaker 2: James Mike how you doing.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Good Mark thank you Hey, when a general or admiral
- 18:21Speaker 5: gets fired, don't they actually move him rather than put
- 18:24Speaker 5: him out on the street?
- 18:26Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 18:28Speaker 5: They move him to a different position, right?
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess they take his general ship away and
- 18:34Speaker 2: they move him to something else. But it's kind of
- 18:37Speaker 2: the sign to get the hell out of there. Now,
- 18:38Speaker 2: usually when you're a general and you leave the Pentagon,
- 18:41Speaker 2: you then make millions and millions and millions working for
- 18:46Speaker 2: defense contractors. Of course, if you just got fired and
- 18:49Speaker 2: they know that this administration can't stand you, but they
- 18:54Speaker 2: know there'll be another administration in two years and they'll
- 18:56Speaker 2: put you on the payroll. You can get a lot
- 18:57Speaker 2: of money as an ex-general. Let's go to Michael Danbury, Connecticut. Michael,
- 19:02Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 19:04Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark. How are you?
- 19:05Speaker 2: Good.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I just wanted to touch on the tie-in. This Clancy trial,
- 19:10Speaker 1: it seems to be that they want people to look
- 19:13Speaker 1: at it from her point of view and but she's
- 19:15Speaker 1: had problems, and you have to understand all that. So
- 19:18Speaker 1: in keeping with that, I wanted to get your take
- 19:20Speaker 1: on these two Chris Hansen movies that have come out,
- 19:24Speaker 1: where it almost seems they're portraying him like he's completely
- 19:27Speaker 1: out of his mind, and the things that he did
- 19:30Speaker 1: to these perverts is actually not correct.
- 19:33Speaker 2: If I'm not wrong, he's already suing them, isn't he?
- 19:35Speaker 2: I think he is.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I believe so, yes.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, the two.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Documentaries are the cheapest easiest thing to make so they're
- 19:44Speaker 2: making documentaries about anything and everything but there's one about
- 19:47Speaker 2: Dateline Chris Hansen I believe he's already suing them. We'll
- 19:50Speaker 2: look into that and report back to you tomorrow on
- 19:52Speaker 2: those lawsuits. In Dateline, remember, they catch the pervert, and
- 19:57Speaker 2: he's there waiting to meet the 15-year-old girl. All of
- 20:01Speaker 2: a sudden, Chris Hansen walks out, and then remember the
- 20:04Speaker 2: guy would run out of the house, and 42 cops
- 20:06Speaker 2: would jump on him. It was a big thing for years, Dateline.
- 20:10Speaker 2: On NBC. Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim,
- 20:14Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 20:15Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark. How you been there, Mark? Good. Been
- 20:18Speaker 5: a while since we spoke. And, gee, Mark, give me
- 20:22Speaker 5: a feeling on the Save America Act. I've been busy.
- 20:25Speaker 5: I haven't been able to listen too much, but. I mean,
- 20:27Speaker 5: shame on him.
- 20:28Speaker 2: What do you mean you've been busy? What the hell
- 20:30Speaker 2: could you have been doing? How busy are you? Tell
- 20:32Speaker 2: us what you were so busy with.
- 20:34Speaker 5: My wife keeps me jumping around the house. Even in retirement, Mark,
- 20:39Speaker 5: there's absolutely not much rest at all.
- 20:43Speaker 2: So you were probably a big business guy. You were
- 20:45Speaker 2: probably a big executive, yelling at unions, standing up to everybody.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Now you go home and your wife has you taking
- 20:50Speaker 2: out the garbage and.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Actually, I was a union member, electrician union. Tough union guy,
- 20:56Speaker 5: big union boss.
- 20:58Speaker 2: As soon as you come home, the wife goes, take
- 21:00Speaker 2: out the garbage.
- 21:02Speaker 5: Why do you put up with it? Why do I
- 21:03Speaker 5: say yes, honey?
- 21:05Speaker 2: Why do you put up with it? That's the question.
- 21:07Speaker 5: I'm telling you, women run the world. But really, you know,
- 21:12Speaker 5: I sit back and I say, What's more important than
- 21:16Speaker 5: the Save America Act? I just think they're underestimating the
- 21:19Speaker 5: Republican Party that it's going to have an impact on
- 21:22Speaker 5: the midterms.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Well, no, the Save America Act is a great thing.
- 21:26Speaker 2: It'd be honest voting, a proper voting procedure. But it
- 21:30Speaker 2: will not take effect for the midterms. It'll take a
- 21:32Speaker 2: while to implement it.
- 21:33Speaker 5: Mark, we got the House, the Senate, and probably the
- 21:36Speaker 5: greatest president we ever had. They can't get it through.
- 21:39Speaker 2: It's great. Except for your wife, everything's perfect. Except for
- 21:42Speaker 2: the wife yelling at you. Anyway, thanks for calling. When
- 21:44Speaker 2: we come back, we'll talk to the brilliant columnist Liz Peek.
- 21:49Speaker 2: She'll be with us next on 710WOR. Now, 9 till
- 21:53Speaker 2: noon weekdays.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Mark Simone.
- 21:56Speaker 2: More Mark.
- 21:58Speaker 4: On 710WOR.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Well, the brilliant columnist Liz Peek. You can read her columns, foxnews.com, thehill.com.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Even better, go to her website. You can get everything there.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Just go to lizpeek.com, lizpeek.com. Liz Peek, how are you doing?
- 22:16Speaker 4: I am terrific. Thanks for having me on.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Hey, only 33 days until the midterms. What do you think? Republicans,
- 22:24Speaker 2: they haven't really done enough messaging and spending, have they?
- 22:29Speaker 3: Oh, I think that's totally true. It's very discouraging to
- 22:34Speaker 3: know that there's a lot of good material for Republicans
- 22:39Speaker 3: out there campaigning, Mark, and particularly good material coming from,
- 22:44Speaker 3: for example, the Big Beautiful Bill, which absolutely directly ties
- 22:48Speaker 3: to the fact that so many American families are feeling
- 22:52Speaker 3: better off I understand that inflation is the big issue
- 22:56Speaker 3: and affordability and everything.
- 22:58Speaker 4: But the reality is it's got a binary.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Republicans cut taxes, giving more money to people that take
- 23:05Speaker 3: home out of their paycheck.
- 23:07Speaker 4: And what do Democrats want to do?
- 23:09Speaker 3: Kamala Harris incredibly ran against the 2000s, extending the 2017
- 23:15Speaker 3: tax cuts. In other words, she wanted to later on
- 23:18Speaker 3: to our economy and our population, a massive tax increase. Wayne,
- 23:23Speaker 3: have you ever heard about Democrats wanting to cut taxes?
- 23:26Speaker 4: They don't.
- 23:27Speaker 3: They oppose it all the time. So, you know, no
- 23:30Speaker 3: taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime. Those are very
- 23:34Speaker 3: popular measures that were in that big, beautiful bill.
- 23:38Speaker 4: And, you know, it's just weird. I think a lot
- 23:40Speaker 4: of Republicans are running away from that.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Bill, worried that they're going to be accused of backing
- 23:47Speaker 3: handouts to the rich. It was a middle class tax bill.
- 23:50Speaker 3: That's what it was. And frankly, they should have followed
- 23:53Speaker 3: it up with more middle class tax cuts this year.
- 23:57Speaker 4: And it's very.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Unfortunate, to use a mild word, that they didn't have
- 24:04Speaker 3: another reconciliation bill with more changes in it. Because yes,
- 24:08Speaker 3: I know everyone is worried about federal spending and the deficit. Yeah,
- 24:13Speaker 3: so cut spending, which of course Democrats hate the idea of,
- 24:16Speaker 3: but also every time they've cut taxes, you get more revenue.
- 24:20Speaker 4: That is the history. It's a fact. And Republicans should
- 24:24Speaker 4: have run with that.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Anyway, look, every candidate has his own local issues to
- 24:31Speaker 3: be concerned about, but man, I think they missed a
- 24:33Speaker 3: big opportunity.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Let's face it, they had the trifecta, right?
- 24:37Speaker 3: The Senate, the House, and the White House And even
- 24:40Speaker 3: though the margins were pretty narrow, certainly things like cutting
- 24:45Speaker 3: taxes should have been first and foremost on their agenda.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, the only problem in the world of fake news,
- 24:51Speaker 2: when people are watching network news, reading the New York Times,
- 24:54Speaker 2: all they hear is the Republicans. It was tax cuts
- 24:56Speaker 2: for the rich, tax cuts for billionaires. And they start
- 24:58Speaker 2: to believe that that's all it was. It's certainly not
- 25:01Speaker 2: the case. But how do you battle that fake news?
- 25:03Speaker 2: How do you get through?
- 25:05Speaker 4: Well, for one thing, you try.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I mean, you try talking about the benefits, the thousands
- 25:10Speaker 3: of dollars that the average American family took home last
- 25:14Speaker 3: year because of the tax cuts.
- 25:16Speaker 4: And the evidence is on our side. The facts are
- 25:19Speaker 4: on our side.
- 25:20Speaker 3: But I have to say what Democrats have is a
- 25:23Speaker 3: message machine, the email. You know, we've all seen these
- 25:26Speaker 3: things on Twitter, right, where the email goes out in
- 25:28Speaker 3: the morning and 16 politicians say exactly the same words.
- 25:35Speaker 4: In response.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Where is our messaging, maestro? I don't know that we
- 25:39Speaker 3: have one. If we do, they're sure not doing a
- 25:42Speaker 3: very good job. You know, there's just an awful lot
- 25:46Speaker 3: of issues that the American people believe Republicans have a
- 25:50Speaker 3: better view on, like immigration enforcement.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Who's out there talking about the fact that the border
- 25:55Speaker 4: is secure? I don't think anybody is campaigning on that.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Mark, has everybody got just a faulty memory? This was
- 26:02Speaker 3: less than two years ago. It was one of the
- 26:05Speaker 3: top three issues for American voters. Just because you solve
- 26:09Speaker 3: the issue doesn't mean it's not important. And by the way,
- 26:13Speaker 3: Democrats have every opportunity, because all of that was done
- 26:16Speaker 3: through executive action, to go in and start undoing what
- 26:19Speaker 3: Trump has done.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Is that really what Americans want?
- 26:22Speaker 3: I mean, I really am frustrated by voters' singular focus,
- 26:28Speaker 3: particularly on affordability, which is just such a ridiculous thing.
- 26:32Speaker 4: The idea that Democrats.
- 26:34Speaker 3: who absolutely chronically raise taxes and increase regulations, both of
- 26:39Speaker 3: which we can absolutely certify need to higher prices.
- 26:44Speaker 4: They're the party of affordability.
- 26:46Speaker 3: I don't even know how people can really be tolerating
- 26:49Speaker 3: this nonsense.
- 26:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Oh, and the price of gas for it. You know,
- 26:52Speaker 2: if it was up to Democrats, it'd be $ 10. That's
- 26:54Speaker 2: what they always push for, isn't it? They raise the
- 26:56Speaker 2: energy cost.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Yeah. It's true.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Yes, Trump's war in Iran, which of course now has
- 27:03Speaker 3: become unpopular, has made oil prices higher. Interestingly, oil prices
- 27:08Speaker 3: are coming down now, but somehow nobody's really responding to that.
- 27:12Speaker 3: And the war in Russia, which is certainly not Trump's fault,
- 27:16Speaker 3: that basically Joe Biden green-lighted when he said, well, if
- 27:20Speaker 3: it's just a minor incursion, meaning we wouldn't be too
- 27:23Speaker 3: upset about Putin just taking a small fraction of Ukraine. Yeah,
- 27:29Speaker 3: prices are high right now for products, but, you know,
- 27:32Speaker 3: other prices are coming down and inflation's around 3%. We
- 27:38Speaker 3: had a pretty favorable ruling reading on that yesterday. And
- 27:43Speaker 3: where was it during Biden? It peaked at 9%. And
- 27:47Speaker 3: yet somehow now, really what happened is that prices went
- 27:52Speaker 3: up about, for everything, went up about 20% when Joe
- 27:54Speaker 3: Biden was president.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Trump comes in.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Foolishly saying he can lower prices because prices almost never
- 28:01Speaker 3: go down except for commodities. And they continue to go
- 28:05Speaker 3: up two or 3% a year, but we're basically eating
- 28:08Speaker 3: still Biden's inflation.
- 28:10Speaker 4: And that is a fact.
- 28:12Speaker 3: During Biden's administration, a lot of things went wrong, including
- 28:16Speaker 3: everybody felt like they were entitled to raise prices.
- 28:20Speaker 4: And that was a really pretty bad scenario.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Hey, Liz Peek, explain this to me. The president did
- 28:26Speaker 2: the smartest thing you could do. He got, for the
- 28:29Speaker 2: AI problem, he got the heads of all the AI
- 28:31Speaker 2: companies and all the Google and all the most brilliant
- 28:34Speaker 2: people in America, the brilliant tech geniuses, tech geniuses, all
- 28:38Speaker 2: in one room. And what did they come up with? Well,
- 28:41Speaker 2: form a committee? That's what they came up with? I
- 28:44Speaker 2: could have thought of that. Yeah, yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Maybe it could have been done remotely.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Look, I think any time you convene a group like
- 28:53Speaker 3: that that is fiercely competing with each other but also
- 28:56Speaker 3: has very, very important interests that the federal government has
- 29:02Speaker 3: to be basically addressing and that the public is addressing,
- 29:08Speaker 3: you're not going to walk away with a resolution. I mean,
- 29:13Speaker 3: I think the answer is I actually buy the idea
- 29:17Speaker 3: that the industry has to impose upon itself some restrictions,
- 29:21Speaker 3: some Guardrails is the popular word for how we monitor
- 29:28Speaker 3: the behavior of new agents being spawned by these new models.
- 29:34Speaker 4: There's a concern here.
- 29:35Speaker 3: I think Trump was foolish in dismissing the public's concern about.
- 29:40Speaker 4: AI safety.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I think it's quite possible that the AI executives are
- 29:45Speaker 3: overstating the risks for various self-serving interests. But the reality
- 29:50Speaker 3: is these companies have seen these.
- 29:54Speaker 4: AI agents go rogue. Frankly, I've been talking about this
- 29:59Speaker 4: for a year.
- 30:00Speaker 3: The fact that they had not ever put out sort
- 30:02Speaker 3: of a PR blitz about the advantages or the positives
- 30:06Speaker 3: of AI means the country already is sort of scared
- 30:11Speaker 3: slash apprehensive about what damage AI could do and really
- 30:15Speaker 3: not particularly excited about the very positive things AI could do.
- 30:20Speaker 3: This This was a major miss by the industry, but
- 30:23Speaker 3: now we have not only concerted action taken against data centers,
- 30:28Speaker 3: which is a completely different issue, and that should have
- 30:31Speaker 3: been resolved. It's incredible that the Democrats blocked a measure
- 30:36Speaker 3: trying to resolve some of the issues about data centers,
- 30:40Speaker 3: but that's completely separate from this safety thing.
- 30:42Speaker 4: Anyway, look, I think we'll see progress on this issue.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I think the industry is aware that these concerns are real.
- 30:51Speaker 4: They need to be addressed. And I hope they will.
- 30:53Speaker 4: And I hope the white house does too.
- 30:55Speaker 2: These are the greatest geniuses of AI though. I would
- 30:57Speaker 2: have thought they'd come out of the meeting, maybe explain
- 30:59Speaker 2: something to us. Like there are 80% of AI is great, wonderful,
- 31:03Speaker 2: nothing to worry about. There's a little part of it.
- 31:05Speaker 2: That's they call it that recursive where it can reinvent itself.
- 31:11Speaker 2: They didn't. Why don't they just explain to us exactly
- 31:13Speaker 2: where the problem is in AI. And if there's a
- 31:15Speaker 2: way to fix it.
- 31:16Speaker 4: I agree with you.
- 31:17Speaker 3: And it's, You know, have we reached singularity, which is
- 31:21Speaker 3: when agents really become better empowered than humans? No one
- 31:25Speaker 3: really is able to. And I think the problem, honestly,
- 31:29Speaker 3: people aren't really sure where we are. I don't even
- 31:32Speaker 3: think the industry is quite aware of where we are.
- 31:35Speaker 3: They have agents they've created that engineers have created.
- 31:40Speaker 4: That are doing unexpected things.
- 31:42Speaker 3: And you have to kind of say, well, wait a minute,
- 31:43Speaker 3: how can that possibly be? We engineers, we humans set
- 31:48Speaker 3: the guardrails, set the rules, tell these agents what to do.
- 31:51Speaker 3: And then they do things that are not only unexpected,
- 31:54Speaker 3: but not permitted. That is alarming, right? I mean, there
- 31:58Speaker 3: is something going on here that isn't quite as expected
- 32:02Speaker 3: or isn't right. And I think the industry, frankly, doesn't
- 32:06Speaker 3: know what to say about it. I mean, I've read
- 32:09Speaker 3: all this stuff, and I think you ought to read Amadei's,
- 32:13Speaker 3: Dario Amodei's screens and other people's writings on this topic.
- 32:18Speaker 3: It's pretty fascinating, honestly, but it's also a little concerning,
- 32:23Speaker 3: to be sure.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Yeah, they could go rogue, do things you didn't expect.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Of course, that's the same thing with the Supreme Court justices, too.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Yeah, or even mayors. Who can tell, right? Right.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Well, Liz Peek, brilliant as always. You've got to read
- 32:37Speaker 2: her columns, foxnews.com, thehill.com. But the best thing you should
- 32:42Speaker 2: do this is go to her website, lizpeek.com. Everything's up there. Also,
- 32:46Speaker 2: great news stories every day. Check it out every day, lizpeek.com.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Liz Peek, thanks for being with us.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Thank you so much for having me, Mark.
- 32:55Speaker 2: All right.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Take care.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Take care. Hey, don't forget, coming up at noon, Buck
- 32:59Speaker 2: Sexton and Clay Travis. Great show every day at 12.
- 33:03Speaker 2: The most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity
- 33:05Speaker 2: at 3, Jesse Kelly at 6. Very funny Jimmy Fallon
- 33:09Speaker 2: show every night, 9 to midnight. And remember, I'm here
- 33:13Speaker 2: now three hours every day, 9 to noon. 9 to
- 33:17Speaker 2: noon every day. And, of course, 6 to 9, it's
- 33:19Speaker 2: Curtis Sliwa and Larry Menti on 710WOR.
- 33:24Speaker 4: He's got the whole city in your radio.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Mark Simone on 710WOR. Well, hey, the president on his
- 33:34Speaker 2: way to Texas later today, rally, that sort of stuff
- 33:38Speaker 2: for the midterms. He's going to Texas and he's going
- 33:40Speaker 2: to two other states over the weekend. I don't know.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Is it too late? 33 days until the midterms? No,
- 33:47Speaker 2: not too late. He's going to be out there on
- 33:49Speaker 2: the campaign trail a lot now in the coming weeks. Now,
- 33:52Speaker 2: they also got a ton of money. The RNC's got
- 33:56Speaker 2: 250 million and they haven't deployed a lot of it yet.
- 33:59Speaker 2: So they got to start doing that. Again, 33 days
- 34:04Speaker 2: until the midterms. Yankees won last night. Won big. They
- 34:09Speaker 2: wiped out the Red Sox very quickly, and they move
- 34:12Speaker 2: on now to the playoffs, the actual playoffs. The first
- 34:16Speaker 2: game will be Saturday night in Tampa. That'll be a big,
- 34:20Speaker 2: big thing. The Yankees in Tampa, Saturday night. Hey, it's
- 34:23Speaker 2: going to be nice today. 75, dry. Weather will be good. Tomorrow, 85.
- 34:29Speaker 2: This is the last time I think you'll see the
- 34:33Speaker 2: mid-80s tomorrow. There's a slight chance of rain maybe in
- 34:36Speaker 2: the afternoon. But otherwise, it's going to be a very,
- 34:39Speaker 2: very nice weekend. So thanks for listening. Make sure you
- 34:42Speaker 2: follow me on Instagram. MarkSimoneNYC at Instagram. MarkSimoneNYC at Instagram. Twitter,
- 34:49Speaker 2: it's MarkSimoneNY. And don't forget, I'm here three hours every day.
- 34:54Speaker 2: It's 9 to noon. We start at 9 a.m. Three hours.
- 34:58Speaker 2: If you're a podcast listener... That means you're getting an
- 35:00Speaker 2: extra hour every day now. And remember, if you miss
- 35:04Speaker 2: the show or you miss an hour, you can get
- 35:06Speaker 2: the podcast. You can hear this show anytime you want,
- 35:09Speaker 2: day or night. So I'll be back tomorrow at 9.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Talk to you then on 710WOR.
