  Speaker 1: Yeah?
• 2:17
Speaker 2: Should we get it? May be a little weird. Should
• 2:20
Speaker 2: we give ourselves round on the pause or wait for
• 2:21
Speaker 2: somebody and that's watching, Well, someone's gotta guys, seriously, thank
• 2:26
Speaker 2: you guys. Really shouldn't have stop.
• 2:28
Speaker 4: You shouldn't unnecessary, guys.
• 2:31
Speaker 3: Incredible necessary, But since you guys clapped, you might as
• 2:34
Speaker 3: well talk about it.
• 2:35
Speaker 1: Was I hearing before the pod that uh, Pate was
• 2:38
Speaker 1: just breaking down? Pate, Yeah, self scout with an IVY
• 2:42
Speaker 1: in his arm, came.
• 2:43
Speaker 2: Back in full help.
• 2:44
Speaker 5: I don't know that the ivy was necessary masculine. Yeah, yeah,
• 2:48
Speaker 5: So I'm sitting in the chair this morning because I
• 2:50
Speaker 5: get the ivy. Truthfully, I don't even know what's in
• 2:52
Speaker 5: that bag, but they put something in me every Wednesday
• 2:55
Speaker 5: morning at seven am. So I have not watched the outcast.
• 2:58
Speaker 5: All I've had is my mom told me it was good.
• 3:00
Speaker 5: A few dudes online told me it sucked at which
• 3:03
Speaker 5: we talked about off air. Maybe we can mention on
• 3:05
Speaker 5: are if we have time later. And that's all I
• 3:06
Speaker 5: knew about it. We got good feedback from the people
• 3:08
Speaker 5: that matter at ESPN, though, and then it occurred to
• 3:11
Speaker 5: me this morning to search for it, and it's available
• 3:15
Speaker 5: on the ESPN app.
• 3:16
Speaker 4: So I had the IV.
• 3:17
Speaker 5: In my arm, which I just realized I still have
• 3:20
Speaker 5: the mandate on my arms.
• 3:21
Speaker 2: I want to make sure that take.
• 3:23
  Speaker 4: Care of everything.
• 3:23
Speaker 5: And I watched I watched the film. I thought we
• 3:25
Speaker 5: really peaked in the second half as the game went
• 3:27
Speaker 5: downhill quickly. So maybe the people did not see the
• 3:30
Speaker 5: best versions of ourselves, but I thought it went really good.
• 3:33
Speaker 5: You called Quevo mister Quavo several times, had to several
• 3:36
Speaker 5: times special you want to be a little more formal.
• 3:39
Speaker 2: I think that's the way to do it.
• 3:40
Speaker 1: The boys were laughing at it because I gave him
• 3:41
Speaker 1: a handshake like you apparently dapped them up right before,
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: and I just.
• 3:44
Speaker 3: What's weird about that, too, is like you usually dap
• 3:47
Speaker 3: everybody out. Hey, man, great to see you, and you
• 3:49
Speaker 3: go like this, It's never it's never this.
• 3:51
Speaker 5: After that early season incident up at ESPN though, with Hawk,
• 3:54
Speaker 5: I think you've been a little trepidacious with the handshakes here. Yeah,
• 3:56
Speaker 5: you got no problem shacking my hand, checking Taylor's hand.
• 3:59
Speaker 5: There were some hands though that you still look at
• 4:01
Speaker 5: and you go, how do I HA?
• 4:03
Speaker 2: Not mitches, not JP's.
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: Not Jazz.
• 4:05
Speaker 4: I think we all know what we're talking about.
• 4:06
  Speaker 2: Not Clay's.
• 4:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I thought the first quarter first off, the
• 4:15
Speaker 3: dry run. We've talked about it on the busting on Busted,
• 4:21
Speaker 3: but like I was like more, I was very excited
• 4:23
Speaker 3: about the op knowing that there's four of us and
• 4:24
Speaker 3: like all of us together lifting this ship of like
• 4:27
Speaker 3: calling the game, talking about even the person who's like
• 4:29
Speaker 3: being the quarterback and just going to play by play.
• 4:31
Speaker 3: You can jump into any moment and give great insight.
• 4:34
Speaker 3: I was like, man, this is really gonna be a
• 4:35
Speaker 3: lot of fun, Like the boys just kind of hanging out.
• 4:37
Speaker 2: And then when the dry run happened.
• 4:38
Speaker 1: Which, by the way, dry run caught me off guard,
• 4:41
Speaker 1: No doubt they know we're gonna be doing a driver.
• 4:43
Speaker 1: Once the monitors started going, I was like, what's happening here,
• 4:45
Speaker 1: Josh going, isn't that the worst?
• 4:47
Speaker 3: First couple of times you do something and things are
• 4:48
Speaker 3: just happening, Yeah, you're realizing like, oh shit, I'm supposed
• 4:50
Speaker 3: to be focused on this.
• 4:51
  Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but.
• 4:53
Speaker 3: Yeah, when when will did his drive run and they
• 4:55
Speaker 3: looked up and just went nottice run.
• 4:57
Speaker 2: I thought, oh my god, we remember we stocked into
• 5:01
Speaker 2: the whole thing up.
• 5:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, and credit to Willie Bompton Man. As soon as
• 5:07
Speaker 3: the lights are on, they said, hey.
• 5:09
Speaker 1: We're on. I had to go next play.
• 5:11
Speaker 2: You crushed it. I had to go absolutely killed. It
• 5:13
  Speaker 2: was awesome.
• 5:14
Speaker 4: And then the dry run.
• 5:16
Speaker 5: To be clear, there's nothing scripted about the game except
• 5:19
Speaker 5: the first five minutes before it kicks off, which is all.
• 5:22
Speaker 5: We had to do a dry run, and the producers
• 5:24
Speaker 5: were in the truck like, hey, let's do a dry run,
• 5:26
Speaker 5: and we are supposed to go in order, and they
• 5:28
Speaker 5: got preset packages and we got it timed out when
• 5:31
Speaker 5: the anthem's gonna happen, when the teams are going to
• 5:32
Speaker 5: take the field, And you dropped this like forty five
• 5:35
Speaker 5: second to minute and a half, just nugget of wisdom
• 5:39
Speaker 5: about offensive line play.
• 5:41
Speaker 4: And they come in our ears like, Taylor, that's great.
• 5:43
Speaker 4: That has nothing to do with what we're talking about
• 5:44
Speaker 4: right now. Queue it back up, start the try run.
• 5:48
Speaker 3: So what's wild is I'm learning about this right now
• 5:51
Speaker 3: because I never heard the producer say that.
• 5:54
Speaker 2: Great points I wasn't hearing it either.
• 5:57
Speaker 1: I was just I was hearing the monologue Taylor was
• 5:59
Speaker 1: going on and seeing the screen switch and everything else.
• 6:02
Speaker 1: Just kind of chuckling to myself like I'm thinking, like,
• 6:05
Speaker 1: I'm sure we're probably supposed to have to get back
• 6:06
Speaker 1: g Pot somewhere in here.
• 6:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, long boy man, long winded boy. And then
• 6:11
Speaker 3: when it's like so loud and Josh, You're like, you
• 6:13
Speaker 3: clearly look at one of us. One time you and
• 6:15
Speaker 3: I made eye contact and you're talking, I can barely
• 6:17
Speaker 3: hear you. And as you're speaking to me, Kaitlyn comes
• 6:20
Speaker 3: in over you, and so it goes jump, I can
• 6:22
Speaker 3: hear you two. I'm just trying to read your lips
• 6:24
Speaker 3: now and I just stare you for and I'm like,
• 6:27
Speaker 3: I got in my head most of that kills Hey,
• 6:30
Speaker 3: by the way, I'm thinking of myself, Kaitlyn. This is
• 6:33
Speaker 3: the worst time he's looking right at me. I'm supposed
• 6:36
Speaker 3: to talk next year. I have no idea what he
• 6:38
Speaker 3: wants me to talk about. Here we go, We're gonna
• 6:39
Speaker 3: be going to commercial in like ten seconds. Yeah, I
• 6:43
Speaker 3: just started talking, and I'm like, oh, ship, all right, I.
• 6:46
Speaker 1: Hear hearing her talk over the year, knowing that we
• 6:49
Speaker 1: can't hear ourselves, and then just witnessing Josh continue to
• 6:52
Speaker 1: stay and flow state going into commercial, I was like.
• 6:55
Speaker 5: You know what it is to do with a pro
• 6:56
Speaker 5: you know what it lets you know, it lets you
• 6:58
Speaker 5: know never sit at home and hate on an announcer
• 7:01
Speaker 5: for getting a name wrong, or for tripping over a word,
• 7:04
Speaker 5: or for occasionally, like mispronouncing the town they're in. Those
• 7:09
Speaker 5: dudes have air traffic control in their ears, and it's
• 7:13
Speaker 5: like a very, very roided up version of what we
• 7:16
  Speaker 5: were doing.
• 7:16
Speaker 4: We had minimum traffic in our ears.
• 7:18
Speaker 5: If you're doing legit like play by play in the booth,
• 7:20
Speaker 5: you got thirty seven different voices in your ear, Like, yeah,
• 7:23
Speaker 5: if I pronounce a name wrong every now and then,
• 7:25
Speaker 5: not the worst thing in the.
• 7:26
Speaker 1: Work, wind, fight or flight the entire time.
• 7:28
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 7:28
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 7:29
Speaker 2: The one time I'm breaking this is it.
• 7:31
  Speaker 1: I'm breaking down number three c J al and I'm
• 7:33
Speaker 1: going on this huge rant and it was number zero.
• 7:35
Speaker 1: Their d tackle talking about the guy talking about the
• 7:37
Speaker 1: alpha the SEC correction hand up.
• 7:40
Speaker 2: That is not CJ.
• 7:41
  Speaker 1: Allen.
• 7:41
Speaker 2: You're gonna get that a few times from Willie See
• 7:43
  Speaker 2: on this all.
• 7:43
Speaker 4: Cast thought that was a great ownership.
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: Though.
• 7:45
Speaker 4: Don't wait for the quality control email Monday morning.
• 7:48
Speaker 5: Just own it on air because you know everyone's yelling
• 7:51
Speaker 5: at you on the TV anyway.
• 7:52
Speaker 1: So this dude is an idiot, Well there he is.
• 7:55
Speaker 2: He's calling himself an idiot. We're gonna hear it a
• 7:57
Speaker 2: few more times, boys.
• 7:58
  Speaker 1: C J.
• 7:58
Speaker 5: Allen, really good player though, really good Who was your
• 8:02
Speaker 5: favorite guest that we had?
• 8:03
Speaker 6: What did you guys think about? Like Taylor, Josh, You
• 8:06
Speaker 6: guys obviously were speaking with your inside voices. Will just
• 8:09
Speaker 6: felt like he was screaming the whole time.
• 8:11
Speaker 5: Yeah, Will was Will was the night before WrestleMania ninety three,
• 8:14
Speaker 5: Will went full Ultimate Warrior.
• 8:16
Speaker 4: I was really surprised. No face paint, that was all.
• 8:19
Speaker 2: That was a little, a little bit.
• 8:21
Speaker 1: There was a part of me that started thinking about
• 8:23
Speaker 1: it before the game, but I was like, let's not
• 8:25
Speaker 1: let's not get too obnoxious.
• 8:26
Speaker 5: We talked. We talked to the lower level, He talked
• 8:30
Speaker 5: to the three hundreds. Yeah, he talked to the upper deck. Yeah,
• 8:34
  Speaker 5: you're in every man's.
• 8:35
Speaker 3: People in just in a crowded bar watching the game.
• 8:38
Speaker 3: He's I want to make sure everyone.
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: Can hear Will.
• 8:40
Speaker 5: Will's the Roman Emperor in the coliseum before technology exists. Yeah,
• 8:44
Speaker 5: I've just got to speak with my outdoor voice or
• 8:46
Speaker 5: these people aren't going to hear me. I gotta yell
• 8:48
Speaker 5: kill and it's got to echo around this entire building.
• 8:51
Speaker 4: But PI he brought when.
• 8:54
Speaker 3: If you watch back, I'm sure there's a couple of
• 8:56
Speaker 3: times if we're on camera and Will starts to talk,
• 8:58
Speaker 3: I'll just go to my f like turn it down
• 9:00
Speaker 3: for a second. If it finishes it, I'll just like
• 9:02
Speaker 3: go back and turn it up. So else because dude,
• 9:05
Speaker 3: I don't know about you guys, but like when I
• 9:06
Speaker 3: got home, my ear was ringing until like two o'clock
• 9:09
  Speaker 3: the next day.
• 9:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, like just because do you have two in two?
• 9:13
  Speaker 2: I had two.
• 9:16
Speaker 1: Guys just started talking to me.
• 9:17
Speaker 3: I'm like trying to get to his other ear because
• 9:21
Speaker 3: I'm assuming and he's like leaning that ear and I'm like, no,
• 9:23
Speaker 3: I'm trying to speak to just you nobody.
• 9:24
Speaker 1: And then my hand on, let me get this thing
• 9:25
Speaker 1: out of my ears, And I really.
• 9:27
Speaker 2: Got both of them.
• 9:27
Speaker 3: I just have the one in my right ear, so
• 9:29
  Speaker 3: I can kind of like, I don't know, I feel
• 9:31
  Speaker 3: with that much.
• 9:32
Speaker 2: You kind of think like you're in a little more
• 9:33
  Speaker 2: of a bubble.
• 9:34
Speaker 1: Oh, I very much felt like I was in a bubble. Yeah,
• 9:36
Speaker 1: anybody was talking to me. I was like, hang on
• 9:37
Speaker 1: a second, I just give him.
• 9:40
Speaker 2: That's my only chance of hearing you.
• 9:41
Speaker 3: It was so confused with me for like the first
• 9:43
Speaker 3: thirty minutes, I'm like, why can't he just hear the
• 9:45
Speaker 3: words coming on my mouth?
• 9:46
Speaker 2: We're in a commercial, right, no one's screaming.
• 9:48
Speaker 4: It was great too.
• 9:48
Speaker 5: We got Sean Alexander that walked up, We got Brandon
• 9:51
Speaker 5: Spikes walks up. We had Quavo later in the show,
• 9:54
Speaker 5: later in the broadcast, walks up. And they're walking up
• 9:56
Speaker 5: and they're talking to you, and you have no clue
• 9:57
Speaker 5: what they're saying, and you you either put your own
• 10:00
Speaker 5: mic up to their face, or if you don't want
• 10:03
Speaker 5: to seem really weird and they don't even know what
• 10:04
Speaker 5: you're trying to do, you just kind of daffle up.
• 10:06
Speaker 4: Yeah. Absolutely, absolutely, Yeah.
• 10:11
Speaker 2: Meanwhile, they walked up for all you know.
• 10:12
Speaker 4: I say, bro, my grandma died last week and I'm
• 10:14
Speaker 4: still happy to do the broadcast.
• 10:15
Speaker 1: Absolutely, that reminded me of you brought up Sean Alexander.
• 10:20
Speaker 1: There was one time we're going into commercial and he
• 10:22
Speaker 1: was taking the entire he was talking the entire time.
• 10:25
Speaker 2: I'm like giggling to myself.
• 10:26
Speaker 1: Here's like, I know Peyton wants to get in here,
• 10:28
Speaker 1: but Seawn Alexander's stopping.
• 10:29
Speaker 3: He started talking, and I see the monitors go to
• 10:32
Speaker 3: the first commercial. He's still talking. He's still talking, and
• 10:35
Speaker 3: I'm just looking at him, and Harry's like, like one
• 10:39
  Speaker 3: a guy.
• 10:40
Speaker 2: Harry's making him feel so good.
• 10:42
Speaker 5: Right now we're fifteen seconds Aflete commercial. Shawan Alexander's dude.
• 10:45
Speaker 5: I remember we played here in ninety nine. Yeah, and
• 10:48
Speaker 5: we beat Florida and Spikes is standing over there. It's
• 10:50
Speaker 5: the middle of an afflet commercial.
• 10:51
  Speaker 2: Middle of it.
• 10:52
  Speaker 4: It was great.
• 10:53
  Speaker 2: Spikes was awesome.
• 10:53
  Speaker 4: Yeah he was.
• 10:54
Speaker 2: He came in with some serious energy. Could have done
• 10:56
  Speaker 2: the whole thing.
• 10:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, Spikes, Yeah, I can't wait to get him on
• 10:59
Speaker 1: the bus. He should be part of the squad.
• 11:02
Speaker 2: Mister as well. Be nice to get him on the bus.
• 11:04
Speaker 1: He won't Spikes, I could feel like I'm saying, because
• 11:09
  Speaker 1: he's he's a superstar.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: He's a rock star. He's got things to do.
• 11:11
Speaker 1: People see, he's gonna he appreciated. He's not like he's
• 11:14
Speaker 1: not a bar, that's all. He's not above us. Anytime
• 11:17
  Speaker 1: we'll see us, he'll he'll dap it up, he'll chop
• 11:19
Speaker 1: it up. If we need him for a segment, I'm
• 11:20
Speaker 1: sure he'll come on if he's at that place. But
• 11:22
Speaker 1: I'm thinking, like I'm thinking over all picture, we can
• 11:24
Speaker 1: probably hit of spikes, and Spikes will be ready to
• 11:26
Speaker 1: get down to Nash.
• 11:26
Speaker 2: No doubt, Spikes will be ready to go.
• 11:34
Speaker 6: Let's also posted you guys on his Instagram, so.
• 11:38
  Speaker 4: I mean.
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: They follow him.
• 11:44
Speaker 3: I don't know he was like that, like I you know,
• 11:48
Speaker 3: I still got a k next to mine, which is
• 11:55
Speaker 3: let's dive then before we get into Army Navy. Well
• 11:57
  Speaker 3: that's obviously.
• 11:58
Speaker 2: That's the main events.
• 11:59
Speaker 3: The main event Miami Notre Dame. And you said I
• 12:02
Speaker 3: didn't write this, but Alabama should be in there as well.
• 12:05
Speaker 3: Have we not cleared the air on the playoff? Like,
• 12:08
Speaker 3: where do you sit right now when you look at
• 12:10
  Speaker 3: these twelve teams?
• 12:12
Speaker 1: I sit at it in twenty twenty five this season,
• 12:15
Speaker 1: the college will playoff.
• 12:16
Speaker 2: The system is broken?
• 12:17
Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree, the process is broken or the system
• 12:20
Speaker 5: is broken or are they the same thing?
• 12:23
Speaker 4: And this is coming from an industry plant.
• 12:25
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I would.
• 12:26
Speaker 1: Honestly, I don't even know. I'm kind of nervous speaking
• 12:28
Speaker 1: in front of Josh because you know, somewhere in that
• 12:30
Speaker 1: ear he's got a bug in there.
• 12:31
Speaker 2: There's somebody in New Yorktown. What you say, Yeah, here
• 12:33
Speaker 2: he goes, he's wired. There's things to fix.
• 12:37
Speaker 1: So to me, it's broken, acbreaker, I agree with you
• 12:44
  Speaker 1: on that.
• 12:45
Speaker 5: Okay, you keep broking me a plant and then agree
• 12:47
Speaker 5: with me. I need the stuff that you think I'm wrong. Yeah,
• 12:49
Speaker 5: but sorry, are you saying that? Are you saying time out?
• 12:54
Speaker 2: Are you saying the system's not broken?
• 12:55
Speaker 4: I'm saying the process is broken.
• 12:57
Speaker 5: I'm saying the system can't be broken if it gave
• 12:59
Speaker 5: me the team I think should be in, not the
• 13:01
  Speaker 5: G five teams.
• 13:02
Speaker 4: That's its own separate thing.
• 13:03
Speaker 5: You and I agree G five. You and I agree
• 13:05
Speaker 5: on the G five things. Okay, so some broke the
• 13:07
Speaker 5: G five thing. We all agree with that. If we
• 13:09
Speaker 5: could take that and we could set it on the table,
• 13:11
Speaker 5: we agree on that. The rest of it, which came
• 13:14
Speaker 5: down to the whole Miami Notre Dame, Alabama thing, it
• 13:17
Speaker 5: gave me the teams that I thought should be in.
• 13:19
  Speaker 4: So obviously I don't.
• 13:20
Speaker 5: Think the entire system is broken, but the process the
• 13:24
Speaker 5: Tuesday night rankings release Hunter you' acheck the like North
• 13:28
Speaker 5: Korean style propagandizing right up until the eleventh hour, and
• 13:32
Speaker 5: then they just flip the pancake on Notre Dame.
• 13:35
Speaker 4: Notre Dame's rightfully irate about that. They opted out of.
• 13:37
Speaker 5: Their bowl game, which I thought was a little extreme,
• 13:39
Speaker 5: but still I understand why they feel that way. And
• 13:41
Speaker 5: so even if you did get it right, even if
• 13:43
Speaker 5: the product is right, if the process is wrong, you
• 13:46
Speaker 5: just like fomented distrust in the entire thing. So from that,
• 13:50
Speaker 5: from that angle, yes, the model or the system is broken,
• 13:53
Speaker 5: but I don't think the results were broken.
• 13:55
Speaker 4: If that makes any sense.
• 13:56
Speaker 1: It makes a little bit of sense. But Notre Dame
• 13:59
Speaker 1: all the way up until that point, like Notre Dame
• 14:01
Speaker 1: got squeezed out of the College for Will playoff. Yes,
• 14:03
Speaker 1: like we watched with their own eyes Alabama get whooped
• 14:07
  Speaker 1: by Georgia.
• 14:07
Speaker 4: Yep, we're up there.
• 14:08
Speaker 1: And I'm not saying by you should have been in.
• 14:10
Speaker 1: All the way up until the very end of the rankings.
• 14:12
Speaker 1: We all knew BYU wasn't going to be in. But
• 14:15
Speaker 1: the way they talked about BYU. We saw what happened
• 14:18
Speaker 1: on the football field today and that kind of you know,
• 14:21
Speaker 1: they were never going to be in the equation. We
• 14:23
Speaker 1: bumped them back, and then you go into full protection
• 14:25
Speaker 1: mode for Alabama that they don't even drop a ranking.
• 14:28
Speaker 1: So what I'm saying is Notre Dame was sitting at nine.
• 14:32
Speaker 1: And by the way, they never really explained why they
• 14:34
Speaker 1: flipped Alabama. Notre Dame. Hunter sat up there and talked
• 14:36
Speaker 1: about they had a gutsy call on fourth down when
• 14:39
Speaker 1: they survived Auburn, and Notre Dame whooped Stanford, but they
• 14:42
  Speaker 1: flipped your boys.
• 14:42
Speaker 5: Here explained it to you. I told you what they
• 14:45
Speaker 5: were doing. Insurance policies.
• 14:47
Speaker 4: I told you what was coming.
• 14:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, an insurance policy in case we got the doomsday
• 14:51
Speaker 1: scenario that you called a long time ago there, which.
• 14:54
Speaker 3: Is amazing that the doomsday scenario that you've been talking
• 14:56
Speaker 3: about for multiple weeks literally took it took place.
• 14:58
Speaker 5: But also like, let's all right, so that's corrupt. What
• 15:01
Speaker 5: you said is corrupt the I guess the fallacy, but
• 15:05
Speaker 5: that's not really the right word. The flaw in their
• 15:08
Speaker 5: entire approach is they overcorrected to begin with, so my viewpoint,
• 15:12
Speaker 5: I got to zoom out the telescope a little bit.
• 15:14
Speaker 5: My viewpoint is Bama should have already been ahead of
• 15:17
Speaker 5: Notre Dame. But I also believed Miami should have already
• 15:20
Speaker 5: been ahead of Notre Dame. But they really knee jerked
• 15:22
Speaker 5: several times in this whole process. They knee jerked in
• 15:25
Speaker 5: that when the rankings came out. That was I think
• 15:28
Speaker 5: right after Bama lost to Oklahoma, or either the rankings
• 15:30
Speaker 5: came out then Bama lost to Oklahoma. They dropped them
• 15:33
Speaker 5: like six pots, which was way too far. So that
• 15:35
Speaker 5: was point one. Point two was when the rankings came out,
• 15:39
Speaker 5: Miami was at eighteen, which was too low.
• 15:41
Speaker 4: We said that at the time.
• 15:42
Speaker 5: I didn't even know that we were going to head
• 15:43
Speaker 5: towards this conclusion, but I said at the time, there's
• 15:45
Speaker 5: no way Miami should be that low and Notre Dame
• 15:47
Speaker 5: should be that high. The third part, Notre Dame being
• 15:50
Speaker 5: that high, I thought was sort of predictive. They were
• 15:52
Speaker 5: putting Notre Dame high in preparation for what they thought
• 15:55
Speaker 5: Notre Dame was going to do.
• 15:57
Speaker 4: But that's not what you should be doing with the ranking.
• 15:59
Speaker 5: Your ranking should solely reflect the body of work not well, yeah,
• 16:03
Speaker 5: we know Notre Dames lost two games, but we think
• 16:05
Speaker 5: they're going to go on a run, so we're already
• 16:06
Speaker 5: gonna put them where they would be if they went
• 16:08
Speaker 5: on that run, because then what you did is times three,
• 16:11
Speaker 5: you made a big mess down the road where you
• 16:13
Speaker 5: had to correct it. Because what they're hopeing is they
• 16:15
Speaker 5: can screw the rankings up and then the teams will
• 16:18
Speaker 5: just sort it out for them, kind of like Lane
• 16:20
Speaker 5: Kiff in an Old miss. They knew if he was
• 16:22
Speaker 5: going to leave that they weren't going to let him
• 16:24
Speaker 5: coach the playoff, but they kept on putting off facing
• 16:27
Speaker 5: that fact because they just hoped the world would work
• 16:29
Speaker 5: itself out. Well, it didn't, and then it got really
• 16:31
Speaker 5: messy at the end. The playoff committee didn't do their
• 16:34
Speaker 5: job properly, so it got really messy at the end,
• 16:36
Speaker 5: and so then people have like this tunnel vision. They
• 16:39
Speaker 5: got the racehorse blinders on and all they see is
• 16:42
Speaker 5: that final snapshot, which is totally fair. It's not the
• 16:45
Speaker 5: public's job to do the committee's job, and so the
• 16:47
Speaker 5: public looks at it and sees just what you said
• 16:50
Speaker 5: and just what I said, which is independent of what
• 16:53
Speaker 5: I think should have been.
• 16:54
Speaker 4: What was was Notre Dame.
• 16:56
Speaker 5: Was ahead of Miami going into the final week, neither
• 16:58
Speaker 5: of them played, and then all of a sudden the
• 17:00
Speaker 5: eleventh hour, the Committee came in and said, well, you
• 17:02
Speaker 5: know there's a head to head.
• 17:03
Speaker 4: Between these teams, we need to flip them.
• 17:05
Speaker 5: Well, the head to he was their last week and
• 17:06
Speaker 5: two weeks ago, and three weeks ago, it's been there
• 17:08
  Speaker 5: all season.
• 17:09
Speaker 1: Yeah. That's my point is when you're looking at deep
• 17:11
Speaker 1: state college football and big conference, they're talking to us
• 17:15
Speaker 1: like they're talking to America, like we're all idiots, and
• 17:17
Speaker 1: we can't see through what they had to do in
• 17:19
Speaker 1: the eleventh hour because the way it was set up
• 17:22
Speaker 1: like Notre Dame was again number nine for a long
• 17:26
Speaker 1: period of time until they dropped a ten. We go
• 17:28
Speaker 1: into conference championship weekend and everybody talks about should conference
• 17:32
Speaker 1: championship games meet anything?
• 17:33
Speaker 2: Should they not mean anything?
• 17:35
Speaker 1: We saw two teams BYU and their championship game, Bama
• 17:39
Speaker 1: and their championship get whooped, and again the Committee went
• 17:42
Speaker 1: in full protection mode on Bama and protected their ranking
• 17:46
Speaker 1: at large because we were having the conversation the night before.
• 17:48
Speaker 1: This is one where Notre Dame and Bama are now
• 17:51
Speaker 1: side by side. They could easily flip back to where
• 17:53
Speaker 1: Notre Dame is now nine, because again they still never
• 17:56
Speaker 1: explained why they put bam my head in the first place.
• 17:59
Speaker 1: But we all knew the insurance policy. But now Alabama
• 18:02
Speaker 1: sitting there at nine, they got whooped. They sit there
• 18:04
Speaker 1: and talk about BYU their ranking didn't get protected out large.
• 18:08
Speaker 1: I know they were never in the College wall playoffs.
• 18:09
Speaker 1: I know they were never getting in unless they want,
• 18:12
Speaker 1: but they still drop to get Miami right next to
• 18:15
Speaker 1: Notre Dame and now on their feeding everybody that had
• 18:18
Speaker 1: the head game, which is that's what they want everybody
• 18:20
Speaker 1: eating at. But if Virginia wins, Miami's not getting Notre
• 18:23
Speaker 1: Dame is in the college football playoffs, Virginia is getting in.
• 18:27
Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
• 18:28
  Speaker 2: That makes sense?
• 18:28
Speaker 4: Two things? All right?
• 18:29
Speaker 5: So you asked, what do you mean about the ACC tiebreakers?
• 18:31
Speaker 5: So I'm gonna hit that in a second, because that
• 18:32
Speaker 5: would have fixed everything. That's simply young people are making
• 18:37
Speaker 5: this argument, and people are saying, hey, why did Brigham
• 18:40
Speaker 5: Young fall? But Alabama didn't fall because they look the same.
• 18:43
Speaker 5: On Saturday, both of them are in conference championship games.
• 18:46
Speaker 5: Both of them lose convincingly. Brigham Young drops what they
• 18:49
Speaker 5: dropped one spot, two.
• 18:50
Speaker 1: Spots, dropped enough to just ki Miami next.
• 18:52
Speaker 5: Even if they dropped in one spot, they dropped further
• 18:54
Speaker 5: than Alabama, Becausbama didn't drop a right. A couple of
• 18:57
Speaker 5: things that if I wanted to play Devil's advocate, if
• 18:59
Speaker 5: I was a deep plant, and I may be, what
• 19:02
Speaker 5: I would say is one of them is a comfortable truth,
• 19:05
Speaker 5: and that is Brigham Young winning got smoked by a
• 19:08
Speaker 5: team that already smoked them before. Bama went and got
• 19:11
Speaker 5: smoked by a team they beat in their own building
• 19:14
Speaker 5: earlier in the season. So at least Bama's track record
• 19:16
Speaker 5: has a win over Georgia this year. B why you
• 19:19
Speaker 5: never got close to Texas Tech. The second thing, this
• 19:22
Speaker 5: is the uncomfortable truth, is what I told you last
• 19:25
Speaker 5: week and the week before, and that is, whether people
• 19:27
Speaker 5: want to admit it or not, the treatment of conferences
• 19:32
Speaker 5: is conditional in college football. The Big Twelve is not
• 19:34
Speaker 5: going to get the same respect the SEC does. The
• 19:36
Speaker 5: Big Twelve is not going to get the same respect
• 19:38
Speaker 5: the Big Ten does. And that's just the way it is.
• 19:40
Speaker 5: You don't have to like it, but I'm telling you
• 19:42
Speaker 5: that's why that happened. And then the third thing, the
• 19:45
Speaker 5: ACC tiebreaker, which I keep glossing over because I think
• 19:48
Speaker 5: people live in the weeds of this, but they don't.
• 19:51
Speaker 5: If nothing else changed but the ACC fixed their tie breakers,
• 19:55
Speaker 5: none of this would have happened.
• 19:56
Speaker 2: And what was what needs to be fixed with the
• 19:58
  Speaker 2: AEC TIB breaks.
• 19:58
Speaker 4: All they would need to do.
• 20:00
Speaker 5: Everyone's first tie breakers had to head. So if you
• 20:02
Speaker 5: and I were six and two in conference, and I
• 20:04
Speaker 5: played you and I beat you, I get the tiebreaker.
• 20:06
Speaker 5: That's that's universal. The second tiebreaker should be conference standings
• 20:12
Speaker 5: based on the college football playoff rankings. So if we've
• 20:15
Speaker 5: got a five way tie in the ACC, it doesn't
• 20:18
Speaker 5: come down to what a sixth grade calculations equate to
• 20:22
Speaker 5: or whatever like, it should be the college football playoff rankings.
• 20:26
Speaker 5: And in that case, Miami would have gone to Charlotte
• 20:29
Speaker 5: and they probably would have won convincingly. Miami would have
• 20:32
Speaker 5: been the ACC's team and it would have been a
• 20:35
Speaker 5: moot point. Bama would have been in only one G
• 20:37
Speaker 5: five team would have been in. Notre Dame would have
• 20:39
Speaker 5: been in, and Miami would have been in. Yeah, instead,
• 20:42
Speaker 5: we got this because the ACC couldn't get out of
• 20:44
Speaker 5: its own way to the point where a five loss
• 20:46
Speaker 5: team ended up in their conference title game.
• 20:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, Virginia couldn't get the job done with the ACC.
• 20:52
Speaker 1: You wouldn't have to, you wouldn't have the two.
• 20:55
Speaker 5: Yeah, you wouldn't have those two G five And if
• 20:57
Speaker 5: Virginia got your job done, there's not that much different
• 20:59
Speaker 5: than virgin and a G five team like Virginia is
• 21:02
Speaker 5: going to be a sixteen some odd point dog, whereas
• 21:05
Speaker 5: James Madison's a twenty one point dog. Either way, there's
• 21:08
Speaker 5: going to be a huge gap, Like there's gonna be
• 21:10
Speaker 5: an undeserving team by universal standards in the playoff either way,
• 21:13
Speaker 5: Whereas if Miami would have gone to Charlotte one, at
• 21:17
Speaker 5: least you have a playoff caliber team. At least you
• 21:19
Speaker 5: have a team loaded up with future Sunday guys, a
• 21:21
Speaker 5: team that realistically could make noise. You don't say that
• 21:25
Speaker 5: about Tulane, you don't say that about James Madison. Now,
• 21:28
Speaker 5: if we could broach this for just a second, the
• 21:30
Speaker 5: whole G five inclusion thing, I think a lot of
• 21:33
Speaker 5: people make faulty arguments about why the G five shouldn't
• 21:37
Speaker 5: be in the playoff. So you've got people who think
• 21:38
Speaker 5: the G five should be in the playoff. So we'll
• 21:40
Speaker 5: do this again. They're on the table here, they're not
• 21:43
Speaker 5: part of this conversation. You already have your opinion. There
• 21:46
Speaker 5: are those of us, are you, and yeah, you're definitely man,
• 21:50
Speaker 5: You're mister ANTIG five.
• 21:51
Speaker 2: So not I respect you.
• 21:53
Speaker 5: You You desrise the very fiber of the being of
• 21:56
Speaker 5: a player on a G five ord Michigan.
• 21:58
Speaker 4: Yes, so I would.
• 21:59
Speaker 1: Say road State to argue for Taylor when we were
• 22:02
Speaker 1: first talking about right here, okay, well defending Taylor when
• 22:06
Speaker 1: we were first talking about the G five teams on busting.
• 22:09
Speaker 1: It's more so twenty twenty five watching the G five
• 22:12
Speaker 1: teams knowing like none of these teams should be in
• 22:14
Speaker 1: the college close, not with the way we're arguing about
• 22:17
Speaker 1: all of these other teams that are on the bubble.
• 22:18
Speaker 2: Yes, you are believe every G five school like remembers
• 22:24
Speaker 2: Boise State, Oklahoma, Fiesta Bowl, AB State, Michigan.
• 22:27
Speaker 3: Well okay, all right, I'm just I mean a State
• 22:30
Speaker 3: Michigan as well, Gain And then they think, oh, we
• 22:32
Speaker 3: could do all these things. But that's like, hey, bois
• 22:35
Speaker 3: State that year in the Fiesta Bowl. I guess olomost
• 22:37
Speaker 3: an outlier. If the College Will Playoff was structured at
• 22:39
Speaker 3: twelve teams, I agree they should probably be.
• 22:41
Speaker 2: They would probably be like seven Boise State making it
• 22:43
  Speaker 2: last year.
• 22:43
Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, okay, I could see this team coming
• 22:45
Speaker 3: in being a little destructive or making games closely at
• 22:48
Speaker 3: least competitive. But I don't think G five teams should
• 22:52
Speaker 3: just get a bit in because it's fair, like we
• 22:55
Speaker 3: all all have to be equal to making sure that
• 22:56
Speaker 3: everyone is represented somehow, like college football has been.
• 23:00
Speaker 2: These kids go from.
• 23:00
Speaker 3: High school, they're one percenters, they get to go play football,
• 23:03
Speaker 3: whether it's a big school, small school, whatever. When it
• 23:05
Speaker 3: comes to the College Fool Playoff, I want the twelve
• 23:07
Speaker 3: best teams that are going to be the best matchups
• 23:11
Speaker 3: down to the wire games that can sit there and
• 23:13
Speaker 3: be like who truly is the best team? Because the
• 23:16
Speaker 3: only I keep bringing up Vanderbilt and Texas can be
• 23:19
Speaker 3: in the conversation too. It's in like Notre Dame, like
• 23:22
Speaker 3: they all should have a good argument to be in
• 23:25
Speaker 3: the College Wall playoffs. We get it was never an
• 23:27
Speaker 3: option because one G five team has to make it
• 23:29
Speaker 3: and now because the ACC can hold, they're into the
• 23:31
Speaker 3: bargain of being a power for conference, they two G five.
• 23:34
Speaker 2: Teams have to get in.
• 23:35
  Speaker 4: Yep.
• 23:36
Speaker 3: I have respect for both those teams, but I do
• 23:39
Speaker 3: not think they should be in the College World playoffs right.
• 23:41
  Speaker 1: I think there's there's you see, yah, the system's broken,
• 23:45
  Speaker 1: systems broke.
• 23:47
Speaker 3: But here the thing I love about this season, though,
• 23:49
Speaker 3: is stuff like this has to happen for change to
• 23:54
Speaker 3: take place because a lot of people. I've seen a
• 23:55
Speaker 3: lot of people go, hey, we gotta go to six team,
• 23:56
  Speaker 3: we gotta go.
• 23:57
  Speaker 2: To twenty four.
• 23:57
Speaker 3: It's like, if you keep kicking the can down the
• 23:59
Speaker 3: road more and more teams. And a couple weeks ago
• 24:01
Speaker 3: I said he, I was like, I kind of like
• 24:02
Speaker 3: the idea of sixteen. I don't like the idea of
• 24:05
Speaker 3: sixteen right now because the process, the timing, the calendar
• 24:08
Speaker 3: has to change for the count for the playoff bracket
• 24:11
Speaker 3: to be correct. Then we can go and look at
• 24:13
Speaker 3: the sixteen, the twenty four whatever people want to do,
• 24:16
Speaker 3: the playing games, those types of things. But if it's
• 24:19
Speaker 3: not fixed at twelve, it's not going to be fixed
• 24:20
Speaker 3: at sixteen because we're gonna have the same argument just
• 24:22
  Speaker 3: down the road.
• 24:23
Speaker 4: So I agree with you. The three of us largely
• 24:27
Speaker 4: agree on this G five stance.
• 24:28
Speaker 5: But here's what I want to say to anyone out
• 24:30
Speaker 5: there watching, because there are a lot of debates about this,
• 24:32
Speaker 5: and people get themselves caught up in debates, and one
• 24:35
Speaker 5: of the worst stances you can take about the G
• 24:37
Speaker 5: five view is I don't think G five teams should
• 24:40
Speaker 5: be in because they can't compete in the playoff. I
• 24:43
Speaker 5: don't think JMU should be in because they're going to
• 24:46
Speaker 5: get blown out by Oregon. It leaves this really, really
• 24:48
Speaker 5: obvious hole in your theory.
• 24:50
Speaker 4: And that is what happens.
• 24:52
Speaker 5: If they go out there and it's a competitive game
• 24:53
Speaker 5: in the fourth quarter, your argument is shot.
• 24:56
Speaker 4: That shouldn't be your argument.
• 24:58
Speaker 5: Like what your argument should be is, I don't think
• 24:59
Speaker 5: G five team should be in the playoff because here's
• 25:01
Speaker 5: my argument. I don't think G five team should be
• 25:03
Speaker 5: the plaoff because they don't meet the minimum baseline of
• 25:05
Speaker 5: struggle during the regular season that it should take to
• 25:08
Speaker 5: merit playoff inclusion. I was looking at the schedule last night.
• 25:11
Speaker 5: I took JMU and I took Oklahoma, and I put
• 25:14
Speaker 5: them next to each other. And I just looked at
• 25:16
Speaker 5: our power ratings, they're going to be similar with everyone's
• 25:17
Speaker 5: power ratings, like FanDuel would have roughly the same numbers.
• 25:20
Speaker 5: JMU played no teams power rated top thirty. They played
• 25:25
Speaker 5: one team power rated top fifty, and they lost to
• 25:28
Speaker 5: them by fourteen points. That's Louisville. Outside of that, their
• 25:32
Speaker 5: toughest opponents are. Their toughest opponent was Old Dominion, who's
• 25:36
Speaker 5: number fifty two. That's their best win over number fifty two.
• 25:40
Speaker 5: Oklahoma played eight teams power rated in the top thirty.
• 25:43
Speaker 5: They're not playing the same sport, so I don't My
• 25:47
Speaker 5: argument about the G five would be the same whether
• 25:49
Speaker 5: JMU gets beat fifty to nothing or whether they legit
• 25:53
Speaker 5: going upset organ That proves nothing to me because I
• 25:56
Speaker 5: don't judge you based on what I think you would
• 25:58
Speaker 5: be capable of. I judge you base what I think
• 26:00
Speaker 5: you earned. And my very simple stance on G five
• 26:03
Speaker 5: is the strength of schedule that they play does not
• 26:06
Speaker 5: warrant inclusion into the playoff because you're not playing the
• 26:08
Speaker 5: same caliber football. You're not playing the same caliber of opponent.
• 26:11
Speaker 5: So like and the other thing is, if people want
• 26:13
Speaker 5: to go back and point out the upsets in the past, dude,
• 26:16
Speaker 5: the boiss of like the late two thousands, those teams
• 26:20
Speaker 5: would murder current G five teams because you didn't have
• 26:23
Speaker 5: the transfer portal and NIO. That works the way it
• 26:25
Speaker 5: works right now. The way it works now is anything
• 26:28
Speaker 5: that is like the slightest blinking light on these G
• 26:32
Speaker 5: five rosters immediately gets posts. Yeah, by the big boys.
• 26:36
Speaker 5: It happens with coaches too. We're watching both of these
• 26:39
Speaker 5: teams in the playoff whose head coaches already took Power
• 26:42
Speaker 5: four jobs. The players do the same thing, So it's
• 26:46
Speaker 5: impossible for a G five program to ever start to
• 26:49
Speaker 5: elevate to the level where they would be remotely comparable
• 26:52
Speaker 5: to the big boys. So then people listen to that
• 26:55
Speaker 5: and they stop listening really thirty seconds in, and they
• 26:57
Speaker 5: just think, oh, man, you must hate the G five.
• 26:59
Speaker 5: Why do you hate the little guy? Why do you
• 27:01
Speaker 5: hate us having a seat at the table?
• 27:03
  Speaker 4: I don't.
• 27:03
Speaker 5: I just wish you had your own table that made
• 27:05
Speaker 5: sense and it gave you enough to eat to where
• 27:08
Speaker 5: if you really do get big enough, you take the
• 27:10
Speaker 5: place of one of the weaker guys up at the
• 27:12
Speaker 5: head table. Because we got plenty of weak chairs at
• 27:14
Speaker 5: the head table. So if you want promotion and relegation
• 27:17
Speaker 5: to where you're not permanently banished to table number two.
• 27:20
Speaker 5: But we're also acknowledging there's a clear difference in Louisiana
• 27:24
Speaker 5: State University and Louisiana Monroe University. That's the world I
• 27:28
Speaker 5: would love to live in. It sounds so logical, and
• 27:30
Speaker 5: then they just they beat it like a piniona right.
• 27:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, for me and for G five's to even have
• 27:36
Speaker 3: a conversation. To get in the playoff, it would have
• 27:38
Speaker 3: to be like, you're twelve and oh.
• 27:39
Speaker 4: It's obvious without an auto bid.
• 27:41
  Speaker 3: Yes you're you're twelve and oh and you're winning. You're
• 27:44
Speaker 3: winning all your games by multiple time shows. And it's like,
• 27:47
Speaker 3: to them it might be unfair, but based on like
• 27:49
Speaker 3: the old dominion being their best win. As Jamie you
• 27:51
Speaker 3: were talking about, yeah, being their best win. It's like
• 27:54
Speaker 3: that's crazy to me.
• 27:55
  Speaker 1: Yeah, ol.
• 27:56
Speaker 2: When someone says old.
• 27:56
Speaker 3: Dominion to me, I think about a band, not a football,
• 27:59
Speaker 3: maybe the freight line. It's like, that's nuts. And now
• 28:03
Speaker 3: we got to deal with those two teams. The thing
• 28:04
Speaker 3: I do love, though, is like now we get into
• 28:06
Speaker 3: and I thought like one of your points was maybe
• 28:09
Speaker 3: the best point is like, to get into collegeable playoff
• 28:11
Speaker 3: you have, did we have a minimum ranking and.
• 28:13
Speaker 4: Or a minimum struggle struggle?
• 28:16
Speaker 5: Yeah, It's like if I could be the top ranked
• 28:20
Speaker 5: figure skater in the world and you could be number seven,
• 28:24
Speaker 5: but if you actually have to go and do all
• 28:26
Speaker 5: the flips and the triple axles and stuff, and I
• 28:29
Speaker 5: just kind of skate around on a pond, it doesn't
• 28:32
Speaker 5: really matter what people think I would be capable of.
• 28:35
Speaker 5: He actually went and performed under pressure with judges and
• 28:38
Speaker 5: people looking at him, and maybe the ice wasn't as
• 28:40
Speaker 5: smooth because the little Zamboni machine didn't even clear it
• 28:43
Speaker 5: off for you. You had to go out in the trenches
• 28:45
Speaker 5: and you had to earn it. I'm just sitting over
• 28:47
Speaker 5: here saying, well, think about what I could do. It
• 28:50
Speaker 5: doesn't matter what you could do, right. That's why, like
• 28:53
Speaker 5: I think it's it's the dumb slant of an argument
• 28:56
Speaker 5: to just say, oh, I don't think James Madison should
• 28:58
Speaker 5: be in cause they're going to go get killed. Like
• 29:00
Speaker 5: with SMU last year, I thought SMU did belong in
• 29:03
Speaker 5: the playoff because I thought they earned it through meeting
• 29:06
Speaker 5: a minimum threshold of strength to schedule. Then they went
• 29:09
Speaker 5: and got blown out by Penn State, and a lot
• 29:11
Speaker 5: of people said, oh, that's proof they didn't belong.
• 29:13
  Speaker 4: No, it's not.
• 29:14
Speaker 5: It's just proof they're not as good as Penn State. Yeah,
• 29:16
Speaker 5: but they belonged in the playoff. Conversely, JMU could go
• 29:19
Speaker 5: play Oregon Razor tight and it doesn't prove to me.
• 29:22
Speaker 5: My argument's flawed because my argument was never about what
• 29:24
Speaker 5: they're technically capable of doing in one four quarter game.
• 29:28
Speaker 5: Because what I don't think they could do over the
• 29:30
Speaker 5: span of twelve four quarter games is go to Iowa
• 29:34
Speaker 5: and go to Penn State and face Indiana and do
• 29:37
Speaker 5: what Oregon had to do.
• 29:38
Speaker 4: That's what I don't think they could do.
• 29:40
Speaker 3: All Right, ladies, gentlemen, we went up this episode to
• 29:41
Speaker 3: bring you form Energy. Form Energy delivers best in class
• 29:44
Speaker 3: taste with natural flavors and zero sugar. Form Managery has
• 29:48
Speaker 3: natural caffeine derived from green Tea. Form comes in a
• 29:51
Speaker 3: variety of flavors screaming freedom, that's rocket pop inspired, grape smashed,
• 29:55
Speaker 3: blue Blitz, orange fury. It's perfect for those who put
• 29:57
Speaker 3: in the worthing about moneyline Matthews as soon as the
• 30:00
Speaker 3: games end on Sunday, he wakes up in the morning early,
• 30:03
Speaker 3: pops pops up in a form energy and just gets
• 30:06
Speaker 3: after it all day long making the correct decisions so
• 30:08
Speaker 3: we can keep going viral form energy.
• 30:11
Speaker 2: We do the work well said, you said something earlier.
• 30:15
Speaker 1: I want to talk about the SEC bias because you
• 30:19
Speaker 1: earlier were talking about SEC Big twelve. Big twelve is
• 30:22
Speaker 1: never going to be compared to the SEC Big twelves
• 30:25
Speaker 1: are going to be comparison to the Big ten. But
• 30:28
Speaker 1: also it's like we were on the All cast and
• 30:29
Speaker 1: I sat there a couple times in that second half
• 30:31
Speaker 1: and I'm looking at the camera and I'm like, putting
• 30:33
Speaker 1: Notre Dame in Miami both in the playoff over Alabama.
• 30:36
Speaker 1: I think everybody understands that the SEC does carry They
• 30:39
Speaker 1: carry the bigger stick, they carry the deeper pockets, They
• 30:42
Speaker 1: have the most depth as far as talent different rosters
• 30:45
Speaker 1: and teams in the SEC. But that, to me, it
• 30:47
Speaker 1: doesn't mean that we should just accept it when we
• 30:50
Speaker 1: know that, hey, there is there, very much is SEC
• 30:54
Speaker 1: bias coming into this equation because when they put Notre
• 30:56
Speaker 1: Dame in Miami in front of the people, and all
• 30:58
Speaker 1: we do is nit pick as much as we can
• 31:01
Speaker 1: for whatever their resumes are. We talk about their Week
• 31:04
Speaker 1: one matchup where Miami beat them by three points. We're
• 31:07
Speaker 1: talking about how badly they beat teams who were inferior
• 31:10
Speaker 1: to them. But then when Alabama gets in this situation,
• 31:13
Speaker 1: they're getting whooped right there in the SEC Championship game,
• 31:15
Speaker 1: and you're thinking, well, what was Alabama doing in Week
• 31:19
Speaker 1: one when Miami beat Notre Dame by three points? They
• 31:22
Speaker 1: were getting mopped by Florida State. And if we're looking
• 31:25
Speaker 1: at how are they performing late in the season against
• 31:27
Speaker 1: inferior opponents. They beat South Carolina JP no disrespect. They
• 31:31
Speaker 1: beat South Carolina by seven points. They had to hang
• 31:33
Speaker 1: on to that. They went in they they didn't beat
• 31:36
Speaker 1: LSU very badly when LSU had just fired their coach
• 31:38
Speaker 1: and Bama was coming off with bye week, I believe.
• 31:41
Speaker 1: And then they survive Auburn limp into the SEC Championship,
• 31:45
Speaker 1: get whooped by a team that they had beat by
• 31:48
Speaker 1: three points earlier in the year. But they got whooped
• 31:50
Speaker 1: same way BYU, same way. We've seen ass whoopings happen,
• 31:53
Speaker 1: So to me, I'm thinking, I feel like it's justified
• 31:56
Speaker 1: when everybody's thinking, Yo, is Alabama a top team that
• 31:59
Speaker 1: should be the collegewall playoff over these other teams that
• 32:01
Speaker 1: we're arguing about on the bubble because we've seen them
• 32:03
Speaker 1: over the last month and they're clearly wounded going into
• 32:06
  Speaker 1: this thing.
• 32:07
Speaker 2: Do you mind if I ask one question before you go.
• 32:09
Speaker 5: What I'm going to do over here? Why you ask
• 32:11
Speaker 5: is I'm going to zoom the telescope out? Okay, because
• 32:13
Speaker 5: I have context. You're not wrong.
• 32:15
Speaker 4: I just have context to add to.
• 32:16
Speaker 2: I'm with the telescope thing too.
• 32:18
Speaker 3: I just I don't want to know if at Obama
• 32:20
Speaker 3: did not play Georgia in the SEC Championship and we
• 32:22
Speaker 3: didn't set the result that has wiped from our brain.
• 32:23
Speaker 2: Do you believe Alabama should have been in the playoff?
• 32:26
  Speaker 5: Uh?
• 32:26
  Speaker 2: Yes, Okay.
• 32:27
Speaker 3: So if we're going to go into an SEC Championship
• 32:30
Speaker 3: where there's two other teams that are in the playoffs
• 32:32
Speaker 3: already that didn't earn the right to play in that game,
• 32:35
Speaker 3: and we're gonna three three excuse me, and we're gonna
• 32:38
Speaker 3: judge those teams. We're gonna judge the two teams that
• 32:40
Speaker 3: have earned the right to play in a game for
• 32:43
Speaker 3: a championship and we're gonna judge them so much that
• 32:45
Speaker 3: they are now losing a chance to which is the
• 32:47
Speaker 3: ultimate prize in the national championship. How is that fair
• 32:50
Speaker 3: to Alabama because they can lean on eight They had
• 32:53
Speaker 3: eight guys out, so I think three or four are
• 32:56
Speaker 3: the best some of their best players on the team.
• 32:58
Speaker 1: And yeah, to that, I agree, But that to me
• 33:05
Speaker 1: is where it's like, the fact that they got protected
• 33:07
Speaker 1: with their ninth ranking at large is what blows my
• 33:10
Speaker 1: mind because again, they can still earn their way into
• 33:13
Speaker 1: the playoff because you move them down to ten, they're
• 33:15
Speaker 1: still in the playoff in that situation. And to me,
• 33:18
Speaker 1: it's like, are these championship games, like what do they
• 33:20
Speaker 1: even mean to everybody? Because if Bama wins, they all
• 33:23
Speaker 1: of a sudden, we're talking them getting the potential by
• 33:25
Speaker 1: week they get to jump up so many slots, it's
• 33:27
Speaker 1: a reward. It's like, okay, if they mean if the
• 33:30
Speaker 1: championship teams mean nothing for the teams that lose that
• 33:33
Speaker 1: are already positioned in the College Wabill Playoff, it's like,
• 33:36
Speaker 1: all right, this is a dumb argument, but it's like,
• 33:38
Speaker 1: all right, so Ohio State lost by three why should
• 33:40
Speaker 1: they lose. They're at large ranking still being the number
• 33:43
  Speaker 1: one team, But I know that's just a flip. They're
• 33:44
Speaker 1: playing for the one seed. Yeah, I'm just taking multiple
• 33:47
Speaker 1: movement overall. Why are we moving teams? Why? Okay, b Y,
• 33:51
Speaker 1: you got whooped again protecting they're at large ranking at eleven,
• 33:53
Speaker 1: why do they have to get moved down.
• 33:55
Speaker 3: If two teams play each other in a championship game
• 33:57
Speaker 3: and the winner of that game got a buy that's
• 34:00
  Speaker 3: worth playing for.
• 34:01
Speaker 5: Also, Alabama plays that game knowing, Hey, if we win it, yeah,
• 34:04
Speaker 5: that's what we're playing for. We're playing for a conference title,
• 34:06
Speaker 5: and we're playing to jump up into the by Terrace Hill. Yeah,
• 34:09
Speaker 5: if they lose it, even if they're still in it's
• 34:12
Speaker 5: not like they got They didn't get punished because they
• 34:14
Speaker 5: end up being one of the only teams in the
• 34:16
Speaker 5: playoff that ended up having to play five games to
• 34:19
Speaker 5: win a national title. Like from the end of the
• 34:21
Speaker 5: regular season, you go play your conference title game, we'll
• 34:25
  Speaker 5: miss it.
• 34:26
  Speaker 4: A and M's not. Oklahoma's not. They're sitting at home.
• 34:28
Speaker 5: So if you go playing Atlanta and you lose, it's
• 34:30
Speaker 5: not like that game didn't happen, right, it's not like
• 34:32
Speaker 5: the bumps and bruises didn't happen exactly. Then you don't
• 34:34
Speaker 5: get a first round by so you got four more
• 34:36
Speaker 5: to go. After that, you end up playing five games,
• 34:39
Speaker 5: which is probably impossible for them to win a national title.
• 34:42
Speaker 5: But go back to the telescope, if we zoom it
• 34:43
Speaker 5: out a little bit, they did get smoked by Florida
• 34:45
Speaker 5: State at the beginning of the year. They did get
• 34:47
Speaker 5: smoked at the end of the year by Georgia. They
• 34:50
Speaker 5: did look suspect on the road against South Carolina. They
• 34:54
Speaker 5: did look they looked okay, like they covered against LSU.
• 34:57
Speaker 5: It's just defense had to carry it diverdly. They did
• 35:00
Speaker 5: have to hold on against Auburn. All that stuff happened,
• 35:03
Speaker 5: But it's important to note that right before that, they
• 35:06
Speaker 5: had that stretch where they had to play at Georgia
• 35:10
Speaker 5: with one of the best wins in the season, going
• 35:12
Speaker 5: on the road and winning in Athens, and then they
• 35:14
Speaker 5: had to play Vanderbilt and beat them by double digits,
• 35:16
Speaker 5: and then they had to go on the road before
• 35:18
Speaker 5: Missouri was injured and their season was shot, and they
• 35:20
Speaker 5: beat them on the road, and then they had to
• 35:21
Speaker 5: come home and beat Tennessee. So that little four week
• 35:24
Speaker 5: stretch that's more impressive than anything anyone went through all year,
• 35:28
Speaker 5: I think provides a lot of context in terms of injury,
• 35:31
Speaker 5: in terms of vulnerability down the stretch, for why Alabama
• 35:34
Speaker 5: looked the way they did. And while everyone's asking, well,
• 35:37
Speaker 5: what were you all doing while Notre Dame was busy
• 35:39
Speaker 5: playing two top teams in the beginning of the season,
• 35:43
Speaker 5: Apply that same logic when Notre Dame was playing that
• 35:46
Speaker 5: like jelly middle of their season, what was Alabama doing?
• 35:50
Speaker 5: Bama was in the meat of their schedule playing a
• 35:52
Speaker 5: troism in a row. Instead of there's one here, then
• 35:55
Speaker 5: a month later there's another one. They went boom boom,
• 35:57
Speaker 5: boom boom, No bye, go on the road to Columbia
• 36:00
Speaker 5: South Carolina, And like that's why I remember when we
• 36:02
Speaker 5: wrote that game down and we were just talking about
• 36:05
Speaker 5: get out of there by one point, get out of
• 36:06
Speaker 5: there by any means necessary, because they're beat to death.
• 36:09
Speaker 5: Get to the bye week. However, you can like, it
• 36:11
Speaker 5: was just big for me that they won that game period,
• 36:15
Speaker 5: having provided the context to what they had just gone through.
• 36:17
Speaker 5: So you can apply like you'd apply that logic, but
• 36:21
Speaker 5: to me, you gotta apply the whole logic, like you
• 36:22
Speaker 5: gotta look at the whole picture. That's why I didn't
• 36:24
Speaker 5: think it was unfair that they were in the top
• 36:26
Speaker 5: ten nine whatever. You can argue they shouldn't have jumped
• 36:29
Speaker 5: Notre Dame right before the final Sunday, But my counter
• 36:32
Speaker 5: would be they already should have been ahead of Notre Dame,
• 36:34
Speaker 5: so it should have been a moot point, which was
• 36:35
Speaker 5: kind of my stants all along. I thought it was
• 36:37
Speaker 5: dumb that they weren't ahead of Notre Dame. I thought
• 36:40
Speaker 5: it was dumb that Miami wasn't already ahead of Notre Dame,
• 36:42
Speaker 5: which provided a lot of the fireworks.
• 36:44
  Speaker 4: At the end.
• 36:45
Speaker 5: But we end up arguing about like the merit of
• 36:47
Speaker 5: teams when you ought to be arguing about how like
• 36:50
Speaker 5: mind numbingly stupid the process of the committee was. Because
• 36:54
Speaker 5: you find out, oh man, a lot of us actually
• 36:56
Speaker 5: kind of agree. What are we yelling about. We're yelling
• 36:58
Speaker 5: about the committee. That's what you're yelling about up Yeah.
• 37:01
Speaker 3: And the way the committee breaks down the games were
• 37:03
Speaker 3: going for four, if you know, being it is so
• 37:08
Speaker 3: ridiculous when he could literally just use logic to explain
• 37:13
Speaker 3: their answers and it's it's simple like Miami head to
• 37:16
Speaker 3: head and common opponents were better than Notre Dame, regardless
• 37:19
Speaker 3: as the beginning of the season, at the end of season,
• 37:21
Speaker 3: whatever it was, Miami should be over them.
• 37:23
Speaker 2: That's just what is.
• 37:23
Speaker 3: They're more deserving regardless what they're better or not. If
• 37:26
Speaker 3: you just say that, is Notre Dame really feeling this
• 37:29
Speaker 3: big of a fit We're now they're like breaking all
• 37:30
Speaker 3: ties with the ACC.
• 37:31
  Speaker 4: Now, you remember.
• 37:33
Speaker 5: Going into Conference Champions of Saturday, when they jumped Alabama
• 37:36
Speaker 5: above Notre Dame. I looked at it and I said, oh, well,
• 37:39
Speaker 5: better late than never. You corrected your flaw. Then Hunter
• 37:43
Speaker 5: y're Achek, the committee chair, came on camera and Rhese
• 37:46
Speaker 5: Davis asked him why Alabama jumped Notre Dame, and that
• 37:50
Speaker 5: dude started listing the reasons, and one of the things
• 37:53
Speaker 5: he said was, well, you know, they jumped out to
• 37:55
Speaker 5: a seventeen to nothing lead. Auburn came back to tie
• 37:58
Speaker 5: the game, so they also blew a seventeen to nothing
• 38:02
  Speaker 5: to lead.
• 38:02
Speaker 4: Well, they ran the ball better today.
• 38:04
Speaker 5: Well, you know, they had a gutsy call on fourth
• 38:07
Speaker 5: and two and I just sat there and I just went, oh, No,
• 38:10
Speaker 5: I can't defend this he made They made a move
• 38:13
Speaker 5: I agree with, and yet this sounds so bad. Yeah,
• 38:16
Speaker 5: I'm gonna have to spend all my time criticizing this,
• 38:19
Speaker 5: even though it correlates with a decision that I agree with.
• 38:22
Speaker 4: It's the craziest thing that.
• 38:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, to me, that's where it's like, if there's accountability
• 38:28
Speaker 1: in the college world payoff committee, to see how they're
• 38:30
Speaker 1: breaking all this stuff down, because again he sang all
• 38:32
Speaker 1: that stuff publicly, making you know, making everybody else feel like.
• 38:35
Speaker 2: Yo, we see through all of this bullshit.
• 38:37
Speaker 1: We're gonna need a better argument, an argument that you
• 38:39
Speaker 1: provided with Alabama the Gaullt being being in the playoff,
• 38:43
Speaker 1: and to me, it's like the logic of how that
• 38:46
Speaker 1: year ended and everything else, that logic is like, where
• 38:48
Speaker 1: is that logic when again, they could just move down
• 38:50
Speaker 1: they're still in the playoff and they could just move
• 38:52
Speaker 1: down a slot, but they couldn't do it because Virginia
• 38:55
Speaker 1: couldn't take care of business for the conference of the
• 38:57
Speaker 1: ACC So they needed to find a way. We got
• 39:00
Speaker 1: to figure out a way to get to manipulate this.
• 39:01
Speaker 1: Get these guys together. Hey, we value the head to
• 39:04
Speaker 1: head game It's like that wasn't it. If Virginia wins,
• 39:07
Speaker 1: Miami isn't in over Notre Dame. I can't believe this
• 39:11
  Speaker 1: is now?
• 39:14
Speaker 5: Can I full it one more theory to you guys?
• 39:16
Speaker 5: This is a very fifty thousand foot theory. So a
• 39:19
Speaker 5: lot of people are saying that playoff expansion is the
• 39:22
Speaker 5: way you fix all this. I of course disagree with that,
• 39:25
Speaker 5: but let's remove the Notre Dame stuff for a second.
• 39:28
Speaker 5: Think about Vandy, think about Texas, think about Brigham Young,
• 39:31
Speaker 5: because those are teams that were just on the outside
• 39:33
Speaker 5: looking at or last year it would have been South
• 39:36
Speaker 5: Carolina and Alabama and Ole Miss. So last year people
• 39:40
Speaker 5: were saying, we need to expand. These teams deserve a shot.
• 39:42
Speaker 5: I disagreed. It is my belief that people being mad
• 39:47
Speaker 5: at the end of the season isn't automatically evidence that
• 39:50
Speaker 5: something's broken. I think that if you have a playoff
• 39:53
Speaker 5: that's the proper size, you'll know it because there will
• 39:57
Speaker 5: be anger at the end of a season because it
• 39:59
Speaker 5: was exclusive to where not everybody could get in. Therefore,
• 40:04
Speaker 5: some people were left outside the door banging on it.
• 40:06
Speaker 5: But that just means there's still enough scarcity and that
• 40:09
Speaker 5: valuable thing you have that it means something. If you
• 40:13
Speaker 5: expand to the point where no one's mad, it means
• 40:15
Speaker 5: you've got a playoff that's way too big.
• 40:17
Speaker 4: That's how I feel about that.
• 40:19
Speaker 1: I don't disagree that twelve teams is the proper amount
• 40:23
Speaker 1: for a playoff. I just think in twenty twenty five,
• 40:25
Speaker 1: where we're currently at with this system, the system was
• 40:28
Speaker 1: broken this year because of two G five teams being in,
• 40:31
Speaker 1: and there was the squeeze out operation to get Notre
• 40:34
Speaker 1: Dame out when they led them to believe the entire time,
• 40:36
Speaker 1: when all these rankings came out every Tuesday, that they
• 40:39
Speaker 1: were going to be in the college football play You believe.
• 40:41
Speaker 5: This happened to Notre Dame of all programs, because for
• 40:44
Speaker 5: my entire life grown up in the South, I was
• 40:47
Speaker 5: taught that the entire system was rigged in the favor
• 40:50
Speaker 5: of Notre Dame. Yeah, and now we fast forward to
• 40:53
Speaker 5: present day and Notre Dame's making the kind of argument
• 40:57
Speaker 5: that like a Fresno State would have made in the past,
• 41:00
Speaker 5: of man, you're boxing us out. The system's built just
• 41:03
  Speaker 5: rigged against us.
• 41:04
Speaker 4: Notre Dame. Notre Dame football, it.
• 41:08
Speaker 2: Was the favorite child of rage against the.
• 41:10
Speaker 4: Machine South Bend, Indiana, who also.
• 41:13
Speaker 2: Notre Dame got a clause in there.
• 41:15
Speaker 1: What was it the MoU where it's like, if they're
• 41:17
Speaker 1: a ToxT year, next year they have an automatic bin.
• 41:20
Speaker 5: Lost Dellinger, man over Yahoo, was just licking that index finger,
• 41:24
Speaker 5: flipping through papers and realize that, and to his credit,
• 41:29
Speaker 5: he said, wait a second, no one's reported this, and
• 41:32
Speaker 5: it's just there, but it's in all that boring legal
• 41:34
Speaker 5: ease and you got to like push the readers way
• 41:37
Speaker 5: down on the tip of the nose to even read
• 41:38
Speaker 5: it in there. And he saw that and he reported it,
• 41:41
Speaker 5: and everyone was like, wait a second. So they're they're
• 41:44
Speaker 5: making this argument, they're like railing against the operation knowing
• 41:49
Speaker 5: this will never happen to them again, like mathematically or contractually,
• 41:53
Speaker 5: they're guaranteed it'll never happen again.
• 41:57
Speaker 4: Where did that come from? No one knew that. I
• 41:59
Speaker 4: had never heard that. Yeah before this past week, Yeah.
• 42:01
Speaker 1: You never heard of automatic I.
• 42:03
Speaker 5: Never heard that they had negotiated as part of agreeing
• 42:07
Speaker 5: to whatever current and present or future version of the
• 42:10
Speaker 5: playoff we're going to have that they're guaranteed if they're
• 42:12
Speaker 5: in the top twelve they get a they get a
• 42:15
Speaker 5: playoff spot, or if it expands to sixteen, like whatever
• 42:17
Speaker 5: the size of the playoff is, if they're in that
• 42:20
Speaker 5: number or higher, they get a spot in the playoff,
• 42:23
Speaker 5: which has a lot of people up in arms. Honestly,
• 42:25
Speaker 5: there's a very very minute chance that that ever comes
• 42:27
Speaker 5: into play. But ironically it would have come into play
• 42:29
Speaker 5: this year. So that but here's my counter. All right,
• 42:33
Speaker 5: So you're thinking based on that language, you're thinking, oh, man,
• 42:36
Speaker 5: if that was in place this year, then that means
• 42:39
Speaker 5: even though Miami was tenth, then Notre Dame was eleventh,
• 42:42
Speaker 5: Notre Dame would have still gotten in it. Well, if
• 42:44
Speaker 5: you believe the system is built against you, how do
• 42:47
Speaker 5: you not know the committee wouldn't have just bumped you
• 42:49
Speaker 5: down another spot, and they wouldn't have just bumped you
• 42:51
Speaker 5: down to thirteen if you believe that, Like, I don't
• 42:54
Speaker 5: know that the system's rigged against them. I think the
• 42:56
Speaker 5: system ironically favored them too much in the racegular season
• 43:00
Speaker 5: and had to correct itself, which is corrupt and flawed
• 43:04
Speaker 5: and stupid, but that's the way it happened. But I
• 43:06
Speaker 5: don't know that that just automatically gives me all the
• 43:08
Speaker 5: comfort in the world if I'm a Notre Dame fan.
• 43:10
Speaker 3: And an example of them being comforted is losing their
• 43:13
Speaker 3: first two games and still being in the top twenty five,
• 43:15
Speaker 3: that being like the first time in however many years
• 43:17
  Speaker 3: something happened.
• 43:18
Speaker 1: Right, Like, yeah, that that process it kind of did
• 43:21
Speaker 1: it to themselves. But I to me, it's like, Yo,
• 43:23
Speaker 1: if they would just come out and say the reality
• 43:26
Speaker 1: of the situation versus trying to make stuff up to
• 43:29
Speaker 1: where if you just look behind the curtain you can
• 43:31
Speaker 1: figure out what happened to me, I feel like that
• 43:33
Speaker 1: would that would play with more favor.
• 43:36
Speaker 2: From the public eye, you know what I mean.
• 43:38
Speaker 1: Like a few weeks ago when they kind of flipped
• 43:40
Speaker 1: Bama Notre Dame, they started to put insurance policies in place. Hey,
• 43:43
Speaker 1: b y, you could be collateral damage here if they
• 43:45
Speaker 1: get whooped. It's just more like if at any point
• 43:47
Speaker 1: that it came out and said, hey, we kind of
• 43:48
Speaker 1: mess this up, dude from the ums.
• 43:51
Speaker 2: Like Miami, we do value that.
• 43:55
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 43:55
Speaker 2: They It's like if we can.
• 43:56
Speaker 3: Get a mistake, if they talk like normally people, yeah
• 44:00
Speaker 3: we're sorry, we actually made a mistake. We actually did
• 44:04
Speaker 3: not put in the head to head or the pit
• 44:06
Speaker 3: game or any of that. Miami should be over over
• 44:09
Speaker 3: Notre Dame because of these reasons, because we made a mistake.
• 44:11
Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, we're probably all pissed off. We're like, oh,
• 44:14
Speaker 3: these guys made a mistakes. Who's to say is not
• 44:16
Speaker 3: going to happen again? But like, at least they're not
• 44:18
Speaker 3: hiding behind bullshit like a gutsy call or.
• 44:22
Speaker 5: Or to two got no other coach made a call
• 44:25
Speaker 5: to go for it on fourth. Okay, so just Ryan
• 44:27
Speaker 5: Grubb and Alabama, Hey, how about just saying this we
• 44:29
  Speaker 5: changed our mind?
• 44:30
Speaker 4: Yeah, we could just say we changed.
• 44:33
Speaker 5: We're thirteen humans and as we continue to watch the games,
• 44:36
Speaker 5: we changed our mind.
• 44:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, because every other person does. That is upset as
• 44:39
Speaker 3: people want to be. That are not the non Alabama
• 44:42
Speaker 3: fans out there who want to be upset about Alabama
• 44:44
Speaker 3: being in Imagine if Alabama lost where they did in
• 44:46
Speaker 3: the SEC Championship and they're out, now, what would take
• 44:49
Speaker 3: place in college football?
• 44:50
Speaker 4: I don't think we would have an SEC championship.
• 44:52
Speaker 2: I don't think we'd have conference championships at all anymore.
• 44:54
Speaker 5: Not that they not, not that people care because if
• 44:56
Speaker 5: you're anti Alabama you probably don't care about the SEC Championship. Yeah,
• 44:59
Speaker 5: I'm just saying there's a lot of other collateral damage
• 45:02
Speaker 5: that comes along with that, And I don't really even
• 45:04
Speaker 5: know what it is as I say it. I just
• 45:05
Speaker 5: know it would have been a mess. It kind of
• 45:07
Speaker 5: would have been fun to watch, just purely like voyeuristically.
• 45:10
Speaker 5: You want to watch the world burn?
• 45:13
Speaker 2: Oh god, this is crazy.
• 45:15
Speaker 1: Yeah. Because I'm sitting there on the selection Sunday when
• 45:17
Speaker 1: I see Bama nine, I was like, man, I guess
• 45:20
Speaker 1: it's gonna be Is it gonna be Notre Dame? Here?
• 45:23
Speaker 1: Is it gonna be Miami? And you're just kind of
• 45:24
Speaker 1: sitting there waiting, And then when you see the Miami
• 45:26
Speaker 1: want to come across, I'm like, oh shit, what is
• 45:29
  Speaker 1: going to be?
• 45:30
Speaker 5: If I if I had surveillance footage of you as
• 45:32
Speaker 5: you were watching it, what would I have seen?
• 45:33
Speaker 1: You would I saw I'm sitting there, and I'm like,
• 45:35
Speaker 1: hang on, Sweeter, I just gotta see. Yes, I'll play
• 45:37
Speaker 1: hide and seek with you here in a second. I
• 45:39
Speaker 1: just got to see what happens here.
• 45:40
Speaker 4: With my So you have your hand on your child's forehead, Yeah.
• 45:42
Speaker 2: I push your back a little bit and I see
• 45:44
  Speaker 2: it happen and.
• 45:45
Speaker 1: I go, oh shit, and Charles like what And I'm like,
• 45:50
Speaker 1: you have no idea what just happened?
• 45:52
Speaker 4: The world just changed?
• 45:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, Sweeter, I need five minutes on my phone. Yeah yeah, yeah, dude.
• 46:01
Speaker 3: It's it's nuts in the way Notre Dame is handling this,
• 46:04
Speaker 3: like when they say we're not gonna play a ball game.
• 46:06
Speaker 3: I'm personally of the opinion that the only thing that
• 46:09
Speaker 3: matters about Bowl games is the fifteen practices that you
• 46:11
Speaker 3: get playing the game and the gifts. But playing the game,
• 46:15
Speaker 3: there's so many guys that set out it's not gonna
• 46:17
Speaker 3: it's like, really a chance to get the scrimmage.
• 46:19
Speaker 2: It's an exhibition match now.
• 46:20
Speaker 1: But for some guys, some seniors, you're never going to
• 46:22
  Speaker 1: play again.
• 46:23
Speaker 3: I don't disagree either with the cheerleaders, the band, all
• 46:27
Speaker 3: of that. For them to say, oh shit like that
• 46:29
Speaker 3: the last game, we didn't know it was our last game.
• 46:31
Speaker 3: We didn't take a moment to sit there and go,
• 46:33
Speaker 3: you know, kind of look around, be like, hey, it.
• 46:34
Speaker 2: Was a fun ride. I have empathy for all of that.
• 46:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like it was kind of it was
• 46:39
Speaker 1: a weird move, Like I understand emotional move in the moment.
• 46:43
Speaker 1: This is what they're standing on this where they're going.
• 46:44
Speaker 1: It probably came more likely from the administration their positioning
• 46:49
Speaker 1: of it. They're going to get torch for it for
• 46:51
Speaker 1: the rest of the time, especially knowing what we know
• 46:53
Speaker 1: with the MoU where they're they're in the they're in
• 46:56
Speaker 1: the spot that they want to be in from here
• 46:58
Speaker 1: on out, you know what I mean, Like, they're not
• 47:00
Speaker 1: gonna they won't be in the spot again as long
• 47:02
Speaker 1: as they're in the Top twelve or however things get
• 47:05
Speaker 1: fixed within the process.
• 47:06
Speaker 3: And Clark being like, oh, you guys, you know not
• 47:08
Speaker 3: this book was like, no, we love football here.
• 47:10
  Speaker 4: That's interesting.
• 47:11
Speaker 2: He's part of Big Conference.
• 47:13
Speaker 4: He's in on it.
• 47:14
  Speaker 2: He's doing.
• 47:18
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's just reading off him.
• 47:20
Speaker 2: He had the text. No, yeah, it's it's tough.
• 47:22
Speaker 1: You know. I was telling the story yesterday when we
• 47:25
Speaker 1: were in the Big twelve championship, I believe in O
• 47:27
Speaker 1: nine and we lost that one second game to Texas
• 47:29
Speaker 1: when they kicked that field goal. They put the second
• 47:30
Speaker 1: back on the clock, they kicked the field goal. It
• 47:32
Speaker 1: was known that we were going to the Big ten,
• 47:34
Speaker 1: you know, after that next year or whatever. So everybody
• 47:37
Speaker 1: in their mind thought it was like Big twelve is
• 47:38
Speaker 1: against US. I still this day believe Big twelve was
• 47:40
Speaker 1: against US, but both we losed a Big twelve championship.
• 47:45
Speaker 1: It's US in Texas. Texas wins, they went by that
• 47:47
Speaker 1: game winning field goal. They go on to play in
• 47:48
Speaker 1: the National Championship against Alabama. Well, the delegation for the
• 47:53
Speaker 1: Big twelve champion loser, like where we were positioning bowl
• 47:56
Speaker 1: games mattered a lot. It was the Fiesta Bowl got
• 48:00
Speaker 1: a Big twelve team, the was it, the Cotton Bowl,
• 48:03
Speaker 1: the Alamobile. I believe we got delegated all the way
• 48:06
Speaker 1: down or relegated all the way down to the Holiday Bowl,
• 48:09
Speaker 1: which everybody yeah, San Diego, which everybody was pissed off
• 48:13
Speaker 1: because again we're in our heads, we're the number two
• 48:15
Speaker 1: Big twelve team. All these other bowl games that are
• 48:17
Speaker 1: slotted for Big twelve that we get to get chosen with,
• 48:19
Speaker 1: you know, the Nebraska fan base. So we were playing,
• 48:21
Speaker 1: we had in domicate Sue Heisman, we had like the
• 48:23
Speaker 1: number one scoring defense in the country, and we get
• 48:26
Speaker 1: pushed all the way down to the Holiday Bowl. Bo
• 48:29
Speaker 1: comes in the team room when all this got decided
• 48:31
Speaker 1: and asked everybody out right, do you guys even want
• 48:33
Speaker 1: to play in this fucking game? Like, I'll tell you
• 48:35
Speaker 1: right now, I'll burn the whole thing down if you
• 48:36
  Speaker 1: guys want to.
• 48:38
  Speaker 2: Guys stood up.
• 48:39
Speaker 1: We decided obviously to play the game whooped Arizona that year,
• 48:43
Speaker 1: But it was a conversation in that moment to give
• 48:45
Speaker 1: people an inside look at when you feel like you
• 48:47
Speaker 1: just get wronged in a situation. In that moment of time,
• 48:49
Speaker 1: which I'm sure again Notre Dame, there was no explanation,
• 48:52
Speaker 1: no nothing. It's like, yeah, we've been sitting in the
• 48:54
Speaker 1: top ten the entire since the college football rings has
• 48:57
Speaker 1: come out, and now all of a sudden, you're just
• 48:59
Speaker 1: throwing this in here at us, in our face. I'm
• 49:01
Speaker 1: sure they were all in the team room and everything else,
• 49:03
Speaker 1: very emotional, but yeah, I remember Bo comes into you
• 49:06
Speaker 1: guys weren't even playing this fucking game and saying like
• 49:08
Speaker 1: I will burn this place. Don't want too, probably about
• 49:12
Speaker 1: fifteen minutes because it was emotional. We just, man, we
• 49:15
Speaker 1: felt like they put the second back on this when
• 49:17
Speaker 1: reviews like it wasn't like a reviewable play to go
• 49:19
Speaker 1: and put a second back on. They put it back on.
• 49:21
Speaker 1: They kicked the field, go and win. You felt like
• 49:24
Speaker 1: you won the Big twelve championship. But it was like
• 49:25
Speaker 1: a very emotional next week and then you know, bowl
• 49:28
Speaker 1: games get picked and everything else, and it was it
• 49:30
Speaker 1: was very tense, very tight, like everybody was pretty angry.
• 49:33
Speaker 1: How we felt like we got treated, getting pushed down
• 49:37
Speaker 1: to the Holiday Bowl back when bowl games were a
• 49:39
  Speaker 1: big time thing.
• 49:40
Speaker 5: That was big time before people had opted out too.
• 49:42
Speaker 5: So you fast forward fifteen sixteen years. I could especially
• 49:46
Speaker 5: understand at Notre Dame now that it's normal to opt
• 49:49
Speaker 5: out of bowls. Don't take bowls seriously, You think you
• 49:51
Speaker 5: just got shafted out of a playoff spot. Yeah, me
• 49:54
Speaker 5: walking in the default mechanism is yeah, we're done. We're
• 49:57
Speaker 5: not participating in this. That's why I said. And a
• 50:00
Speaker 5: million people ask me, what do you think about Notre
• 50:01
Speaker 5: Dame opting out of a bowl game? Well, I personally
• 50:03
Speaker 5: hate the concept, but I'm not going to rail against
• 50:06
Speaker 5: them and that, like I don't understand.
• 50:08
Speaker 4: It's the world we live. Yeah, Like I totally get
• 50:09
Speaker 4: where their mind is.
• 50:12
Speaker 2: Do you think Jerremala Love is gonna play that game?
• 50:14
  Speaker 1: No?
• 50:14
Speaker 3: No shot, No, you're thinking about than that ultra that
• 50:18
Speaker 3: Ultra then bragging rights. Uh, mikel Ultra Superior is worth
• 50:22
Speaker 3: playing for and we're playing for a Michelobultra. We've started
• 50:25
Speaker 3: this row pay percisors and right now I'm leading the
• 50:27
Speaker 3: series eight to six.
• 50:28
Speaker 2: At one point I was down two. This would be
• 50:32
Speaker 2: catastrophic for you if you lose this.
• 50:36
Speaker 1: One possibly rob scissors shoot.
• 50:41
Speaker 2: Superior is worth playing for nowadays?
• 50:46
Speaker 1: Seven down one? Yeah, down one down one.
• 50:49
Speaker 3: Back to the episode Heisman candidate, By the way, should
• 50:51
Speaker 3: we talk about our heidsman?
• 50:52
Speaker 6: I have a quick question about will you tweeted about
• 50:55
Speaker 6: it yesterday? And I don't know, Josh, if you can
• 50:56
Speaker 6: give more insight about it, the whole Utah thing going
• 51:00
  Speaker 6: with that?
• 51:01
Speaker 1: Oh? Well, I said, what could go wrong where it
• 51:03
  Speaker 1: seems like Cana.
• 51:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, Utah bought a p or some private equity company
• 51:09
Speaker 3: bought a piece of Utahs that.
• 51:11
  Speaker 4: It's essentially, it's essentially.
• 51:15
Speaker 3: It's the Big ten correct.
• 51:20
Speaker 4: As as a whole, the Big ten as a whole.
• 51:21
Speaker 5: Yeah, this is an individual athletic department basically taking an
• 51:25
Speaker 5: effusion of private equity money.
• 51:27
Speaker 2: Over five hundred million.
• 51:28
Speaker 5: Yeah, it's no small it's no small figure. It is
• 51:32
Speaker 5: it's you could see it coming from a long way away.
• 51:35
Speaker 5: College football has been horrifically financially mismanaged for a long time.
• 51:38
Speaker 5: It's no different than the federal government. It's just college
• 51:41
Speaker 5: football administrators who have been loosely spending money because it's
• 51:46
Speaker 5: not their money. When you're spending someone else's money, you
• 51:48
Speaker 5: don't really have proper incentive to be frugal with it.
• 51:52
Speaker 5: And so a lot of different places have dug themselves
• 51:55
Speaker 5: in holes. And then all of a sudden, you have
• 51:56
Speaker 5: on this other set of rails over here congruent to
• 51:59
Speaker 5: your You've got the college football train at large, which
• 52:02
Speaker 5: has been mismanaged, and now you didn't really have a
• 52:05
Speaker 5: plan when all of a sudden, you have to pay
• 52:07
Speaker 5: the players to pay the players, so you had this
• 52:09
Speaker 5: huge added operating expense that you can't afford. Because you
• 52:13
Speaker 5: never positioned yourself. You kept on spending every dime you made.
• 52:17
Speaker 5: That's why all the facilities look like they do. That's
• 52:19
Speaker 5: why coaches make ten fifteen million dollars a year. The
• 52:22
Speaker 5: buyouts are huge because you couldn't afford to make the
• 52:25
Speaker 5: revenue and sit on it. Because if you were sitting
• 52:28
Speaker 5: on a mountain of money, it was going to be
• 52:30
Speaker 5: really bad optics because the public was going to look
• 52:32
Speaker 5: at it and say, wait a second, you're hoarding hundreds
• 52:35
Speaker 5: of millions of dollars while also saying you can't afford
• 52:38
Speaker 5: to pay the players. So they kept spending the money
• 52:40
Speaker 5: as it came in the door and spending on all
• 52:42
Speaker 5: sorts of ridiculous things. So now they're in a bind,
• 52:45
Speaker 5: not just Utah. Utah just happens to be the first
• 52:47
Speaker 5: one to do it, and they're looking into the future
• 52:49
Speaker 5: and they're looking at projections and saying, yeah, we're just
• 52:51
Speaker 5: headed even more in the red. We need help. Private
• 52:54
Speaker 5: equity comes in and they help. Now, most college football
• 52:57
Speaker 5: fans won't be affected by this. They'll see low goes
• 53:00
Speaker 5: on the jerseys, they'll see a branding on the fields,
• 53:03
Speaker 5: and that's whatever. The real question I have becomes, who's
• 53:07
Speaker 5: making decisions for Utah Athletics now or if it comes
• 53:11
Speaker 5: time to fire a coach and hire a new coach,
• 53:13
Speaker 5: Who's making the call on firing coach and hiring the coach.
• 53:17
Speaker 5: Because we're really in the interest of what's best for business,
• 53:20
Speaker 5: right and if it's just your business, that's your business.
• 53:22
Speaker 5: But all of a sudden, if someone's bought a stake
• 53:24
Speaker 5: in Utah football or Utah Athletics. They want to return
• 53:27
Speaker 5: on their investment. And they want to say because they're
• 53:30
Speaker 5: paying for a seat at the table, which.
• 53:32
Speaker 1: Is what essentially is happening with Utah because where we're at,
• 53:35
Speaker 1: it's like, say, you have this five hundred million dollars
• 53:38
Speaker 1: in a private equity, Like you have all this money,
• 53:40
Speaker 1: you want to back it, Like we've been seeing, whether
• 53:42
Speaker 1: it's Cody Campbell down at Texas Tech, whatever it is.
• 53:44
Speaker 1: The thought was, we'll donate to the nil collective, like
• 53:49
Speaker 1: make a donation. They got a lot of money backing them.
• 53:51
Speaker 1: What's happened at Utah is they've stood up another LLC
• 53:55
Speaker 1: to where now this five hundred million this private equity
• 53:58
Speaker 1: company has bought like a minority stake in the team,
• 54:00
Speaker 1: to where they will be decision makers for making money.
• 54:03
Speaker 1: Are they going to be involved with making these big
• 54:05
Speaker 1: decisions now we'll never see there's like a new Yeah,
• 54:08
Speaker 1: there's like a new master who's now at the seat
• 54:11
Speaker 1: of the table with all this money coming in.
• 54:12
Speaker 2: They now own a part of Utah Athletics.
• 54:15
Speaker 1: They're not like donating like, hey, our group wants to
• 54:17
Speaker 1: make our football team better. Here's a shitload of money.
• 54:20
Speaker 1: Now they are minority owners, like in Utah football, say.
• 54:25
Speaker 2: I'm just getting that small breakdown. It feels like there's
• 54:27
  Speaker 2: no good outcome.
• 54:29
Speaker 1: You saw Dillingham yesterday, he was doing I saw him
• 54:31
Speaker 1: in an interview and they're kind of asking about it.
• 54:33
Speaker 1: He's like, dude, it's a messman. As far as financials,
• 54:35
Speaker 1: as far as money, entertainment, the media that is booming,
• 54:39
Speaker 1: it's going to continue to boom, like very popular. But
• 54:41
Speaker 1: as far as all the structures and processes in college football,
• 54:44
  Speaker 1: he's like, it's an absolute messman. So I He's like,
• 54:48
Speaker 1: we'll handle it the way we handle each new thing
• 54:50
  Speaker 1: that comes in.
• 54:51
  Speaker 2: He's like, but it's a mess man.
• 54:52
Speaker 3: If you're looking at like a Utah and ASU, these
• 54:56
Speaker 3: these brands of college football that their logo doesn't have
• 54:59
Speaker 3: like a bunch of people that have left made a
• 55:01
Speaker 3: billion dollars or doing a lot of money an il
• 55:03
  Speaker 3: to be competitive.
• 55:04
Speaker 2: What are the choices they have than to take on
• 55:06
Speaker 2: a private equity career.
• 55:07
Speaker 5: Oh, I'll tell you you need to collectively bargain with
• 55:09
  Speaker 5: the athletes.
• 55:11
  Speaker 4: Athletes dot org.
• 55:12
Speaker 5: I mean, I sound like a spokesperson right now. But
• 55:14
Speaker 5: it just so happens that as we're recording, it's Tuesday, right,
• 55:17
  Speaker 5: it's Wednesday.
• 55:18
Speaker 4: Two days ago, two days ago out in Las Vegas.
• 55:21
Speaker 2: They go ahead, ground. I just wanted to know he's
• 55:26
Speaker 2: going to make a move. As soon as you open
• 55:28
Speaker 2: it up. I started to get flashed back.
• 55:29
Speaker 5: I just look at it. I just follow your eyes
• 55:31
Speaker 5: and just go down there. Man, he's looking at this
• 55:34
Speaker 5: crotch again. That must be you know, but God, players
• 55:38
Speaker 5: dot Org, You've got to make yourself financially viable in
• 55:41
Speaker 5: the future. Right now such a train wreck because people
• 55:43
Speaker 5: are trying to figure every which way around collectively bargaining
• 55:47
Speaker 5: with athletes. I'm not taking a stance on this. I'm
• 55:49
Speaker 5: kind of old school in it myself. I'm just saying,
• 55:52
Speaker 5: you've tried the congressional approach over and over again. Just
• 55:55
Speaker 5: last week, the Score Act fell in its face in
• 55:58
Speaker 5: Congress again, and that is basically to dumb that down,
• 56:02
Speaker 5: where just normal people understand what's happening here. They really
• 56:05
Speaker 5: want a way for Congress to step in to make
• 56:08
Speaker 5: laws that say, all right, college football, you're free to
• 56:11
  Speaker 5: govern yourself.
• 56:12
  Speaker 1: Now.
• 56:13
Speaker 5: You can limit transfer, portal movement, you can limit what
• 56:16
Speaker 5: nil is you can do all of that because we're
• 56:19
Speaker 5: giving you the power. Legally, well, that keeps falling on
• 56:21
Speaker 5: its face, so that's never going to pass the legal
• 56:25
Speaker 5: barometer that it needs to to be signed into law.
• 56:27
Speaker 4: At least that looked that way.
• 56:29
Speaker 5: The other option is to collectively bargain with the players
• 56:33
Speaker 5: and to centralize that. Take it out of the hands
• 56:36
Speaker 5: of the teams and the leagues and centralize it. This
• 56:39
Speaker 5: is very very clearly gaining traction. Athletic directors are on
• 56:43
Speaker 5: board with it, University presidents are on board with it.
• 56:45
Speaker 5: Some of the most influential voices within those two realms
• 56:48
Speaker 5: are on board with it. And I really think over
• 56:50
Speaker 5: the next six to twelve months, you're going to see
• 56:52
Speaker 5: traction on this and then where I'm interested because that
• 56:55
Speaker 5: stuff is boring. What I'm interested in down the road
• 56:58
Speaker 5: is do we ever get to a place where that
• 57:01
Speaker 5: same principle is applied to media deals. None of the
• 57:05
Speaker 5: networks really want that, none of the leagues really want that,
• 57:08
Speaker 5: but collectively it would make everyone a lot more money.
• 57:11
Speaker 5: If college football's media rights structure reflected that of the NFL.
• 57:17
Speaker 5: There is no AFC East TV package. There is just
• 57:20
Speaker 5: the NFL, the AFC, and the NFC. But underneath the
• 57:23
Speaker 5: NFL's umbrella, that is a media rights deal that is
• 57:27
Speaker 5: sold by the NFL, and NBC's got a piece, and
• 57:30
Speaker 5: Fox has got a piece, and CBS has got a piece,
• 57:32
Speaker 5: and the league kind of dictates.
• 57:33
Speaker 1: Here's the players got a piece.
• 57:34
Speaker 5: Yes, that I think is the direction we're headed in
• 57:37
Speaker 5: college football. It's just we're like a pinball going through
• 57:41
Speaker 5: the machine right now to get there. It's not just
• 57:44
Speaker 5: let's flow down the river out into the ocean. It's
• 57:47
Speaker 5: we're a pinball and we're going all over the place.
• 57:49
Speaker 3: So if that takes place, then that happens, and there's
• 57:51
Speaker 3: a CBA for college football and it becomes just like, oh,
• 57:54
Speaker 3: this is a big umbrella company. What happens is private
• 57:56
Speaker 3: equity companies that have bought pieces.
• 57:58
  Speaker 4: I don't know.
• 57:59
Speaker 5: I don't know. I'm not smart enough in that world
• 58:01
Speaker 5: to know. I just know that we need that's what
• 58:04
  Speaker 5: we need.
• 58:04
Speaker 1: We need your life that kept from the Live Show Man.
• 58:09
Speaker 2: Your dad and I was, I was like.
• 58:12
Speaker 4: Nervous each other's legs. You want to take this on?
• 58:15
  Speaker 1: Nope, I'll tell you what, man, I I like. I
• 58:20
Speaker 1: love that the players are getting paid. But I also
• 58:24
  Speaker 1: we're in such a d we're in such dangerous territory,
• 58:26
Speaker 1: like even for the athletes too, with all this money
• 58:29
Speaker 1: that comes in and everything else happened, and just man,
• 58:33
Speaker 1: when when we were in high school, the whole thought
• 58:36
Speaker 1: process was, I'm just saying, like, think about the commitment,
• 58:40
Speaker 1: the dedication and work ethic everything just to get the
• 58:43
Speaker 1: opportunity to get a scholarship on thinking that you're that's
• 58:46
Speaker 1: the way out to get to the NFL and all
• 58:49
Speaker 1: of the foundational values and cultural things that you have
• 58:53
Speaker 1: to establish as a high schooler. But you're very raw
• 58:56
Speaker 1: as a high schooler learning all of these values, learning
• 58:58
Speaker 1: all of these traits and characteristic and then they get
• 59:01
Speaker 1: molded and developed and hardened in college to where whenever
• 59:05
Speaker 1: those first big paychecks come in in the NFL, it
• 59:08
Speaker 1: can get guys off the tracks. Like obviously you see
• 59:11
Speaker 1: guys fall off, but at least you're equipped. I know
• 59:12
Speaker 1: when the money started coming in For myself, It's like
• 59:17
Speaker 1: a lot of guys know in their head they have
• 59:19
Speaker 1: to stay very principled in their approach and commitment all
• 59:22
Speaker 1: year round to keep getting and keep getting it, tapping
• 59:25
Speaker 1: into this well and keep getting paid and the life
• 59:28
Speaker 1: and all the bells and whistles that come with it.
• 59:31
Speaker 1: Now it's like all that's just getting chopped when all
• 59:34
Speaker 1: this money sinking into these seventeen eighteen year old kids
• 59:37
Speaker 1: when they're gone, because now it's not even about this
• 59:39
Speaker 1: work ethic, the sickening, gritty approach when you're in high school.
• 59:43
Speaker 1: It's about picking up your phone, looking at how many
• 59:45
Speaker 1: likes you have on Instagram, looking at what deals your
• 59:47
Speaker 1: agent might begin to you. Because now you have an
• 59:49
Speaker 1: agent who's telling you all these things, you might not
• 59:51
Speaker 1: have to worry about certain principal things that you're established in,
• 59:54
Speaker 1: whether there's workout routines and everything else, because it's like,
• 59:56
Speaker 1: who's going to pay me the most money? Like it
• 59:59
Speaker 1: used to be, you owe the process everything, and the
• 1:00:01
Speaker 1: process owes you nothing in return. Now these kids are
• 1:00:03
Speaker 1: getting paid for a process they haven't even established going
• 1:00:07
Speaker 1: into college football, and it's just I hate it for
• 1:00:09
Speaker 1: the athletes because the development that happens that isn't going
• 1:00:13
Speaker 1: to be taken serious as much near as much anymore
• 1:00:15
Speaker 1: at the college level is what bothers me about the
• 1:00:18
Speaker 1: whole thing. Because I do enjoy that they're getting paid.
• 1:00:20
Speaker 1: It's what we wanted. But there's all this how it's
• 1:00:23
Speaker 1: getting pushed all the way down. Now we're talking about
• 1:00:25
Speaker 1: college is going to be looking like the NFL. That's
• 1:00:28
Speaker 1: a big fix because we need all this regulation to
• 1:00:30
Speaker 1: come in and help everybody out with all the money
• 1:00:31
Speaker 1: floating around everywhere. But in doing that, it just the
• 1:00:34
Speaker 1: way it massages the mentality of these college kids. Now
• 1:00:37
Speaker 1: at the high school level, I'm like, fuck.
• 1:00:38
Speaker 5: But in your CBA, let's say it structured properly. Because
• 1:00:41
Speaker 5: I had long conversations about this last week, because I
• 1:00:44
Speaker 5: have those concerns as well. Most people who love college
• 1:00:46
Speaker 5: football have those concerns. You worry about the detriment of
• 1:00:49
Speaker 5: the product when sixteen and seventeen year old kids already
• 1:00:53
Speaker 5: bank high six low seven figures coming in like it
• 1:00:56
Speaker 5: adversely affects the compass, the north star of motivation, of process,
• 1:01:01
Speaker 5: oriented of drive of everything. All right, So think about this,
• 1:01:04
Speaker 5: all right, if we have a CBA in college, your
• 1:01:06
Speaker 5: player reps are probably not going to be freshmen. They're
• 1:01:09
Speaker 5: going to be upperclassmen. Those upper classmen are in the
• 1:01:12
Speaker 5: position to be a player rep, probably because they've proven
• 1:01:15
Speaker 5: themselves and paid the price. If you have a CBA
• 1:01:18
Speaker 5: in college football, I think you have a payscale that's
• 1:01:22
Speaker 5: very much correlated to like a rookie pay scale versus
• 1:01:25
Speaker 5: a second contract third contract in the NFL. Not apples
• 1:01:28
Speaker 5: to apples, but very similar to where if I'm a
• 1:01:30
Speaker 5: seventeen year old kid, If we have a CBA, that
• 1:01:33
Speaker 5: also means that we enter into a world where there
• 1:01:36
Speaker 5: are enforceable laws within IL, which means it's not just
• 1:01:39
Speaker 5: wild West pay for play anymore, like, yeah, you're gonna
• 1:01:42
Speaker 5: make money and it's been collectively bargained. But you know,
• 1:01:45
Speaker 5: if you're a freshman committing to Nebraska, you're not making
• 1:01:48
Speaker 5: nearly as much as you're gonna make if you succeed
• 1:01:50
Speaker 5: and you play, and then you're still a sophomore on
• 1:01:52
Speaker 5: that roster, and then you're a junior, and then there's
• 1:01:55
Speaker 5: this huge bonus that kicks in third and fourth years
• 1:01:58
Speaker 5: on the same roster because you prove yourself and you're
• 1:02:01
Speaker 5: under a collectively bargained umbrella where you know the big
• 1:02:03
Speaker 5: payoff is down the road, where you have all the
• 1:02:07
Speaker 5: incentive in the world to keep chasing instead of already
• 1:02:09
Speaker 5: having a gigantic bag in your lap. The moment you
• 1:02:12
  Speaker 5: step on campus.
• 1:02:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I appreciate the way you broke that down
• 1:02:16
Speaker 1: because I sit there and I'm like, we're hearing guys
• 1:02:19
Speaker 1: close to the program.
• 1:02:21
Speaker 2: Just be like, man, this program.
• 1:02:23
Speaker 1: This dude's dumb for signing a two year deal within
• 1:02:26
Speaker 1: IL And I'm just thinking, Jesus Christ, I cannot believe
• 1:02:29
Speaker 1: we are in this world.
• 1:02:30
Speaker 3: There's two hugs that out there though, Like, well, you're
• 1:02:33
Speaker 3: bringing down all the things I agree with it, Like
• 1:02:35
Speaker 3: the process owes you nothing, all the work ethic if
• 1:02:38
Speaker 3: you're being coached hard by your coaches, like buy into
• 1:02:41
Speaker 3: a program, going to a school because that's the school
• 1:02:43
Speaker 3: you want to be at and they just hosted you
• 1:02:45
Speaker 3: the best, and you're like, this is where I can
• 1:02:46
Speaker 3: think my next four to five years. Like that is
• 1:02:48
  Speaker 3: clearly missed.
• 1:02:50
  Speaker 2: But I can't sit.
• 1:02:51
Speaker 3: Back and not just like for these kids if we're
• 1:02:54
Speaker 3: in these positions, like yeah, you want to gain the
• 1:02:56
Speaker 3: system as much as possible, to put as much money
• 1:02:58
Speaker 3: in your pocket as possible, signing a one year deal
• 1:03:01
Speaker 3: as opposed to a two year deal, Like I can't
• 1:03:02
Speaker 3: get mad at a player for doing those things with
• 1:03:05
Speaker 3: the CBA, Like I would love for a CBA to
• 1:03:08
Speaker 3: take place because then there's an umbrella. There's only a
• 1:03:10
Speaker 3: certain amount of money you can spend. Each team can
• 1:03:12
Speaker 3: spend on their players. And I love the idea of
• 1:03:15
Speaker 3: like you have freshmans like a rookie, and the more
• 1:03:16
Speaker 3: you work and the better you do and the more
• 1:03:18
Speaker 3: accolades you have, the.
• 1:03:20
Speaker 2: More you'll get paid.
• 1:03:21
Speaker 3: Because it's just on a way simpler level from being
• 1:03:24
Speaker 3: able to play in the NFL and go to the
• 1:03:26
Speaker 3: lunch room and sit there in the morning and Georgia
• 1:03:28
Speaker 3: and Alabama had to play, and I have five Georgia
• 1:03:31
Speaker 3: teammates and three Alabama teammates and they're in their lunchroom
• 1:03:34
Speaker 3: arguing about their team. They're loved there for their team.
• 1:03:37
Speaker 3: I don't see that in the next four or five
• 1:03:38
Speaker 3: years if it continues the same way, staying that way
• 1:03:41
Speaker 3: in that lunch room where it's like kids have like
• 1:03:43
Speaker 3: absolute pride and where they played at and they're like
• 1:03:46
Speaker 3: like Nebraska, like no one's.
• 1:03:48
Speaker 2: Gonna have that anymore.
• 1:03:50
Speaker 3: And that's where like, that's where college football I think
• 1:03:52
Speaker 3: is at its best because in a unique way, like
• 1:03:55
Speaker 3: when people gamble, it's like they're only going to want
• 1:03:58
Speaker 3: a gamble on their team for the most part because
• 1:04:00
Speaker 3: they're so invested in love with that team.
• 1:04:02
Speaker 4: When you played for the Tennessee Titans, who is your employer.
• 1:04:08
  Speaker 2: The Titans?
• 1:04:09
Speaker 4: Was the NFL your employer or was it the Titans
• 1:04:11
  Speaker 4: your employer?
• 1:04:12
Speaker 2: The Titans were my employer.
• 1:04:13
Speaker 5: So in this world, I don't think that's the way
• 1:04:16
  Speaker 5: it'll be structured. I don't think you'll be employed by
• 1:04:19
Speaker 5: ole miss or the SEC.
• 1:04:22
  Speaker 4: I think you'll be employed.
• 1:04:23
Speaker 5: By filling the blank name of whatever entity they form.
• 1:04:27
Speaker 5: And that is where the authority will be. But that's
• 1:04:30
Speaker 5: also where the risk will be. That's where the finances
• 1:04:33
Speaker 5: are handled. That's where private equity goes. By the way,
• 1:04:35
Speaker 5: in case you're wondering, like to answer your question, instead
• 1:04:38
Speaker 5: of trying to glom onto an individual athletic department, private
• 1:04:43
Speaker 5: equity will go to whatever that entity is, and that's
• 1:04:45
Speaker 5: where that cash infusion will happen and they'll be able
• 1:04:48
Speaker 5: to afford the operating costs. And at that point, University
• 1:04:51
Speaker 5: of Georgia, University of Nebraska, University of Arizona, you guys
• 1:04:54
Speaker 5: are good. We're handling it. But here are the rules
• 1:04:56
Speaker 5: you're going to abide by, and here's the amount of
• 1:04:58
Speaker 5: money you can afford. To pay your players handle your
• 1:05:01
Speaker 5: salary cap accordingly. By the way, this doesn't get rid
• 1:05:03
Speaker 5: of nil, It just repurposes nil for what it was
• 1:05:06
Speaker 5: supposed to be, which is the same way it is
• 1:05:08
Speaker 5: in the NFL, which is Pat Mahomes as a superstar.
• 1:05:11
Speaker 5: So he goes out and gets all the endorsement deals
• 1:05:13
Speaker 5: he wants. What's not happening is some guy who got
• 1:05:17
Speaker 5: rich beyond his wildest dreams, who happens to be a
• 1:05:19
Speaker 5: Kansas City Chiefs fan went to Pat Mahomes and free
• 1:05:22
Speaker 5: agency and said, I'm going to pay you thirty million
• 1:05:25
Speaker 5: dollars to come and play for us, because that's a
• 1:05:26
Speaker 5: competitive disadvantage, whether you think is fair or not or
• 1:05:29
Speaker 5: should be. Well, if you live in the world of
• 1:05:31
Speaker 5: the NFL, you're going to operate by their rules. And
• 1:05:34
Speaker 5: if you live in this world in the future, if
• 1:05:36
Speaker 5: it's collectively bargained that means laws can be enforced, nil
• 1:05:39
Speaker 5: is not going to be what it is right now.
• 1:05:41
Speaker 5: So guys will still make nil money, but it'll be
• 1:05:44
Speaker 5: guys who legit deserve to make nil money, and most
• 1:05:47
Speaker 5: guys will make their money based off of, for lack
• 1:05:50
Speaker 5: of a better term, their salary. I think we're very,
• 1:05:52
Speaker 5: very much closer to that than people realize.
• 1:05:55
Speaker 2: It would mean there's a lot.
• 1:05:56
Speaker 5: Of movement happening on that front this week as we speak,
• 1:06:00
Speaker 5: there's a lot of movement happening.
• 1:06:01
Speaker 2: Need the urgency, Need the urgency.
• 1:06:03
  Speaker 3: Yeah, but like I know that you're there's a lot
• 1:06:05
Speaker 3: of things that we want to fix. There is also
• 1:06:08
Speaker 3: the fan in me of college football where it's at
• 1:06:09
Speaker 3: right now, where there's gonna be so many documentaries with
• 1:06:11
Speaker 3: the last four or five years. Yeah, I'm kind of
• 1:06:14
Speaker 3: just sitting here like I'm really enjoying watching all these
• 1:06:18
Speaker 3: things unfolding, all the chaos.
• 1:06:19
Speaker 1: Yep, it's just hey, fix the a SEC tie break.
• 1:06:22
Speaker 2: There, you go, fix the that was the butterfly?
• 1:06:24
Speaker 3: Good, let's everything everything, Navy, Do we want to talk
• 1:06:29
  Speaker 3: about the brackets?
• 1:06:31
Speaker 2: Do we actually want to do that?
• 1:06:32
Speaker 3: Because it's really comes down to we're going to talk
• 1:06:34
Speaker 3: about all these games on future episodes.
• 1:06:36
  Speaker 1: I think.
• 1:06:39
Speaker 4: I'm not going to take too Lane to win at all.
• 1:06:41
  Speaker 5: So that's a spoiler, like that's a tease and I'm
• 1:06:44
Speaker 5: not going to take Jmu to win it all. I
• 1:06:46
Speaker 5: think Miami A and m is the best game of
• 1:06:48
  Speaker 5: the first round.
• 1:06:49
Speaker 2: Notre Dame beats both, then.
• 1:06:50
Speaker 4: I think the difference. Can I just say one more,
• 1:06:54
Speaker 4: Let's let's play who does notre Dame.
• 1:06:58
Speaker 2: Let's play the game who does notre Dame beat? We'll
• 1:07:00
  Speaker 2: start with.
• 1:07:03
Speaker 5: Speak about Joe does not think so they probably give
• 1:07:07
Speaker 5: him a good fight.
• 1:07:08
Speaker 4: Probably a good fight. James Madison was the whole president man.
• 1:07:11
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 1:07:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, when I look at this bracket, the two teams
• 1:07:14
Speaker 3: that I'm most excited to see is Ole Miss and
• 1:07:18
  Speaker 3: Texas ole.
• 1:07:20
Speaker 1: Miss in Texas Tech. Y.
• 1:07:22
Speaker 3: I'm excited to see Ole Miss because of all this
• 1:07:25
Speaker 3: stuff that took place with Lane Kiff and now the
• 1:07:28
Speaker 3: coaches are going back to Ole Miss to coaching those games,
• 1:07:31
Speaker 3: but Lang Kiffin is staying at l s U and
• 1:07:33
Speaker 3: then Texas Tech. We've had so much conversation on the
• 1:07:35
Speaker 3: show about how the Big twelve is not as respect
• 1:07:37
Speaker 3: as much as the Big ten or the SEC and
• 1:07:39
Speaker 3: Joey McGuire being able to assemble a team that's, you know,
• 1:07:42
Speaker 3: more expensive than anybody else and for them to play
• 1:07:44
Speaker 3: the way they have to get How good are they
• 1:07:47
Speaker 3: really when we go against these Big ten and the
• 1:07:49
Speaker 3: SEC teams. Yeah, I'm excited to see how they play
• 1:07:53
Speaker 3: to find out against I tuned up, pissed off Oregon
• 1:07:55
Speaker 3: team that remembers this month very well from very well,
• 1:07:59
Speaker 3: and they're going to get it.
• 1:07:59
Speaker 2: Two game with JMU tough to beat ole Daan Lanning.
• 1:08:04
Speaker 5: Can I confide in you guys, Lanning's not watching because
• 1:08:06
Speaker 5: he doesn't have a game this week, so we Lanny
• 1:08:08
Speaker 5: won't watch this, So this is going to be some
• 1:08:10
Speaker 5: big time rat poison. No one is set up better
• 1:08:13
Speaker 5: than Oregon here. I would rather have Oregon's spot in
• 1:08:16
Speaker 5: this bracket than anyone else's. They get the easiest first
• 1:08:20
Speaker 5: round matchup at home. They then get teed up to
• 1:08:23
Speaker 5: go play Texas Tech, which out of the other three
• 1:08:26
Speaker 5: teams in the semi final or in the quarterfinal. From
• 1:08:29
Speaker 5: a roster standpoint, they match up the best against probably,
• 1:08:32
Speaker 5: but look at the way it advances. Think about talent rosters,
• 1:08:36
Speaker 5: Think about who athletically could match Oregon. The three that
• 1:08:39
Speaker 5: I would circle the most are on the other side
• 1:08:41
Speaker 5: of the bracket, Miami A and m Georgia, Ohio State
• 1:08:44
Speaker 5: four of them. Four of them are on the other
• 1:08:46
Speaker 5: side of the bracket, and the soonest you would meet
• 1:08:48
Speaker 5: them as in the national title game. The most you'll
• 1:08:50
Speaker 5: have to defeat is one of them in the national
• 1:08:53
Speaker 5: title game, Oregon. I hope they don't embarrass me because
• 1:08:57
Speaker 5: I'm sky high on Oregon.
• 1:08:59
Speaker 2: I am too and potential reimagine.
• 1:09:02
Speaker 3: I know it's like we said hard to beat a
• 1:09:05
Speaker 3: team twice when we saw in the SEC championship.
• 1:09:07
Speaker 4: But let's just be real.
• 1:09:09
Speaker 5: You already know what Kurt Signetti said about Dan Lanning
• 1:09:13
Speaker 5: and his family the first time around. If they beat
• 1:09:16
Speaker 5: them again, I don't want to get ahead of myself.
• 1:09:18
  Speaker 4: I know what I am.
• 1:09:19
Speaker 5: If they beat them again in a semi final, there's
• 1:09:22
Speaker 5: no limit to what that guy could text you.
• 1:09:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's not man and we hate that.
• 1:09:26
Speaker 5: Yeah, we don't want college football to be like that.
• 1:09:28
Speaker 5: That's not what we want this game to be.
• 1:09:30
Speaker 3: No Cincinnati being Oregon again, Like, does Dan Lanning continue
• 1:09:34
  Speaker 3: to coach?
• 1:09:35
  Speaker 4: Say that again?
• 1:09:36
Speaker 5: Because of the sound bite we cut down the road
• 1:09:37
Speaker 5: is going to be great and you said Cincinnati say
• 1:09:39
  Speaker 5: Indiana sorry?
• 1:09:40
Speaker 2: If Indiana beats Oregon again, does Dan Lanning continue to coach?
• 1:09:46
Speaker 1: That's something you If Bignetty beats Lanning again, right, does
• 1:09:50
Speaker 1: Lanning have to think his wife.
• 1:09:55
Speaker 4: I thought we were gonna leave it unspokeus.
• 1:09:56
Speaker 2: I thought we were, and you had. She's a nice lady,
• 1:10:02
Speaker 2: and we know about Dan's game with the card, the
• 1:10:06
  Speaker 2: whole thing.
• 1:10:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, man, so I would hate to see a man
• 1:10:11
Speaker 3: like Dan Lanning never coach again if he loses Indiana.
• 1:10:14
Speaker 2: Have you got winning at all?
• 1:10:16
Speaker 1: Had? Very much? Very much?
• 1:10:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, I know, so I picked free season.
• 1:10:24
Speaker 3: Am I sticking with Oregon? I guess you'll find out later.
• 1:10:27
Speaker 4: Wow, do we know, Clump? Where these where these next
• 1:10:30
Speaker 4: round games are going to be?
• 1:10:32
  Speaker 6: Like?
• 1:10:32
Speaker 5: Where would Indiana and the winner of Oklahoma Bama be?
• 1:10:35
Speaker 5: Is that Pasadena? Where would Oregon play Texas Tech? Where
• 1:10:42
Speaker 5: will the rematch of Ole Miss and Georgia take place?
• 1:10:45
  Speaker 4: All right?
• 1:10:48
  Speaker 1: Yeah, Indiana, Indiana?
• 1:10:52
Speaker 5: That's in Pasadena, Okay.
• 1:10:56
  Speaker 2: In Texas.
• 1:10:57
Speaker 1: Georgia is playing New.
• 1:10:58
  Speaker 4: Orleans Sugar Bowl.
• 1:11:00
Speaker 5: So Oregon, if they go on to play in the
• 1:11:03
Speaker 5: National Championship, we'll play in hard Rock Stadium the second
• 1:11:07
Speaker 5: round and then a couple of weeks later in the
• 1:11:09
Speaker 5: National Title because hard Rock rotates in for the quarterfinals
• 1:11:14
Speaker 5: and the National Title. Interesting, Miami could play a home
• 1:11:17
Speaker 5: game in the National Title. Could could or they could
• 1:11:21
Speaker 5: not escape the first round? You know, either way.
• 1:11:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, and that just makes will consent. Go Notre Dame.
• 1:11:31
Speaker 5: Sh everyone who loses in this bracket. You just need
• 1:11:35
Speaker 5: to have the tweet ready to be fired. Yeah, Notre
• 1:11:38
Speaker 5: Dame would have been such a better replacement in no doubt.
• 1:11:43
Speaker 3: Well before we do two classic game of the week Heisman,
• 1:11:46
Speaker 3: who's your heisman right now?
• 1:11:47
  Speaker 1: At thefore?
• 1:11:47
Speaker 3: That's it there, futures clump. Did anybody who picked a
• 1:11:51
  Speaker 3: future heisman?
• 1:11:51
Speaker 1: Guy? They make it? Yes?
• 1:11:53
Speaker 2: Who's that? Oh? Yeah, well.
• 1:11:59
  Speaker 1: Geez? Who?
• 1:12:01
Speaker 5: Actually I deserve half a win for this he led
• 1:12:04
Speaker 5: he did to his thumb got cut off. He's playing
• 1:12:08
Speaker 5: with four fingers and he's still in the playoff. Imagine
• 1:12:11
Speaker 5: what he could have done with five.
• 1:12:12
Speaker 3: Imagine a couple of weeks off getting healthy, that thumb
• 1:12:15
  Speaker 3: finally gets bigger.
• 1:12:16
Speaker 4: Nexterity exercises, getting healthy.
• 1:12:20
Speaker 2: Who do you have the hesman in your mind?
• 1:12:21
Speaker 4: Diego? What do the odds say?
• 1:12:25
  Speaker 1: Actually?
• 1:12:27
Speaker 4: Because was it Mendoza?
• 1:12:30
Speaker 2: I just minus three? It doesn't make any sense, makes
• 1:12:33
  Speaker 2: zero sense.
• 1:12:34
Speaker 5: The game that catapulted him was a thirteen to ten game. Yeah,
• 1:12:39
Speaker 5: it's not like you rain touchdowns all over the place. Now,
• 1:12:41
Speaker 5: one touchdown. He took one of the hardest hits of
• 1:12:43
Speaker 5: the season, got right back up and cut one of
• 1:12:45
Speaker 5: the great postgame promos in the modern era.
• 1:12:47
Speaker 4: But that, guys, are that will grant you that.
• 1:12:52
  Speaker 1: Presssion.
• 1:12:55
Speaker 3: He had a You starting to sound like the playoff committee. Yeah,
• 1:12:57
Speaker 3: he had a great third down conversion. I'm sure Diego
• 1:12:59
Speaker 3: had as well. No, No, I know you, I know
• 1:13:03
Speaker 3: where you stand on who the heisman should be. But
• 1:13:05
Speaker 3: I think it's so clearly Diego Pavia. And when I
• 1:13:10
Speaker 3: tweet that and everyone's coming at my head, how Fernanda
• 1:13:13
Speaker 3: Mendoza and then Jacob Rodriguez, he just gets it thrown
• 1:13:15
Speaker 3: in and I'm like, yeah, I kind of wish he
• 1:13:16
Speaker 3: was going to New York, but he's not gonna win.
• 1:13:17
  Speaker 1: Ye.
• 1:13:18
Speaker 3: It's like the only two people that you would argue
• 1:13:21
Speaker 3: is Foranana Mendoza and Diego Pavia. People want to say
• 1:13:24
Speaker 3: Julian same, but I think there's enough holes there with
• 1:13:27
Speaker 3: who he was throwing to. You know that that whole thing.
• 1:13:30
Speaker 3: But Diego Pavia stats are his throwing sets are better
• 1:13:33
Speaker 3: than Banana Mendoza. And also you have to add on
• 1:13:35
Speaker 3: almost nine hundred yards of rushing and nine more touchdowns.
• 1:13:39
Speaker 3: Like if you're a value saying, who is the best
• 1:13:43
Speaker 3: player in college football? And who does who does more
• 1:13:47
  Speaker 3: for their team?
• 1:13:49
Speaker 2: Diego does not keep it high and tight?
• 1:13:51
Speaker 3: Who does more for their team than anybody Else's Diego Pavia's.
• 1:13:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, I need I need that speech.
• 1:14:00
Speaker 1: Through the air, Fernando has more turn Fernando has more
• 1:14:05
Speaker 1: yards and touchdowns through the air.
• 1:14:06
Speaker 2: Correct, like I think he was, Like Fernanda Mendoza doesn't
• 1:14:11
Speaker 2: have three thousand yards throwing because more touchdowns five?
• 1:14:17
Speaker 1: Actually game, Diego has more passing yards. Who's the last
• 1:14:20
Speaker 1: high who's the last quarterback to win a Heisman? They
• 1:14:21
Speaker 1: didn't throw for three thousand Dude.
• 1:14:25
  Speaker 2: He's a mic?
• 1:14:26
  Speaker 1: Dude?
• 1:14:26
  Speaker 2: What he's a mic?
• 1:14:28
Speaker 1: Oh? It is Cam. Cam Newton was the last quarterback
• 1:14:30
Speaker 1: to win a Heisman without throwing for three thousand yards
• 1:14:33
Speaker 1: and the only reason was because he ran for fourteen
• 1:14:35
Speaker 1: hundred yards and twenty touchdowns.
• 1:14:36
Speaker 5: Well that in Auburn picked up guys from the playground
• 1:14:39
Speaker 5: to be wide receivers for him that year. Yeah, so
• 1:14:41
Speaker 5: Cam a little bit different, A little bit there, just
• 1:14:44
  Speaker 5: a little bit.
• 1:14:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, people want to hate all this, you know. I
• 1:14:46
Speaker 2: think it's Diego Pavi too.
• 1:14:47
Speaker 1: I look Diego Pavi in the eyes last week and
• 1:14:50
Speaker 1: I say, he's like, what do you think? I was like,
• 1:14:51
Speaker 1: I think it's yours right now. But for Nanda Mendoza
• 1:14:53
Speaker 1: goes out there and throws for like two seventy five
• 1:14:56
Speaker 1: or three hundred and a couple of touchdowns. Probably he
• 1:14:58
Speaker 1: probably needs two touchdowns at least. I could see where Fernando,
• 1:15:01
Speaker 1: where the public gets on Fernando. But that didn't happen,
• 1:15:04
Speaker 1: So I was I feel like I would be lying.
• 1:15:05
Speaker 1: I would have lied to Diego if Bernando Mendoza wins
• 1:15:08
Speaker 1: this Heisman, and it was the Ohio State game where
• 1:15:11
Speaker 1: he hit him for one touchdown, one interception, and then
• 1:15:14
Speaker 1: a nice third downplay. But Banda mendo is a great
• 1:15:18
Speaker 1: player though, keep said, I and I do in joy.
• 1:15:20
Speaker 1: I love every every interview he does. Need him on
• 1:15:23
  Speaker 1: the bus.
• 1:15:24
  Speaker 4: Raise your hand.
• 1:15:24
Speaker 5: If you have a Heisman vote, we can't be trusted
• 1:15:28
Speaker 5: with your Yeah, we can't be trusted to have a
• 1:15:31
  Speaker 5: Heisman vote.
• 1:15:32
Speaker 2: Do you people not have it? Not have the vote?
• 1:15:35
Speaker 1: How do you get a Heisman vote?
• 1:15:37
  Speaker 5: That's a great question, William.
• 1:15:38
Speaker 1: I don't know, because I feel like if anybody would
• 1:15:40
Speaker 1: be close to it, it'd be you out of us.
• 1:15:42
Speaker 5: Three Well, I haven't asked for one. Apparently you need
• 1:15:44
Speaker 5: a beg and that's not something I'm you do get one? Yes,
• 1:15:50
Speaker 5: So we do know Heisman voters.
• 1:15:53
  Speaker 1: Oh beg?
• 1:15:54
Speaker 4: Oh no, true story. A couple of years ago.
• 1:15:56
  Speaker 5: A couple of years ago, I had I had a
• 1:15:58
Speaker 5: production assistant on my on my staff that was cutting
• 1:16:01
Speaker 5: video and we were having this conversation and I was
• 1:16:04
Speaker 5: just kind of laughing because I've never been upset about it.
• 1:16:06
Speaker 5: I just thought it's kind of weird that, like the
• 1:16:08
Speaker 5: way the Heisman votes are handed out, and she just
• 1:16:10
Speaker 5: echoes and like, wait, I have a Heisman vote. And
• 1:16:12
Speaker 5: we all looked at her and we said do what
• 1:16:14
Speaker 5: now she goes, yeah, I have a Heisman vote.
• 1:16:17
Speaker 4: It was at that point that I lost faith in
• 1:16:18
  Speaker 4: the process.
• 1:16:19
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, system is not broken, though, the Heisman system.
• 1:16:27
Speaker 4: Where were you trying to cook the vote over here?
• 1:16:29
Speaker 2: I was just gonna ask a couple of people, a
• 1:16:31
  Speaker 2: couple of.
• 1:16:31
Speaker 4: Things, Okay, how many? How many?
• 1:16:32
  Speaker 1: High?
• 1:16:33
Speaker 3: That was always making sure that if you've won a Heisman,
• 1:16:36
Speaker 3: you do get a vote.
• 1:16:36
Speaker 2: You get a vote. So I texted.
• 1:16:37
Speaker 3: Marcus and I was like, do you have a vote,
• 1:16:39
Speaker 3: And when he says yes, I'm saying who did you
• 1:16:41
  Speaker 3: vote for?
• 1:16:41
Speaker 2: And the ill yeah, I can ask I.
• 1:16:45
Speaker 5: Well, they try and make it sound like he's punishable
• 1:16:47
Speaker 5: by banishment to if you reveal your vote.
• 1:16:54
Speaker 2: All right, so the vote's already in.
• 1:16:56
Speaker 1: I guess Digle lost, which is Oh, it's over, man.
• 1:17:00
Speaker 3: I feel like if there's anybody to be made, no Playoff,
• 1:17:04
Speaker 3: no Heisman, no Joe Moore.
• 1:17:06
Speaker 1: Either, Vandy doesn't get to partake in any of the
• 1:17:11
  Speaker 1: no sec favor.
• 1:17:13
Speaker 5: And they showed, They showed up, They parked out front,
• 1:17:17
Speaker 5: they got a good spot. They went knocked on the
• 1:17:19
Speaker 5: door and they hear the music inside and they know
• 1:17:22
  Speaker 5: someone's home.
• 1:17:23
Speaker 4: No one ever comes to the door to.
• 1:17:25
Speaker 1: The Off, which is insane.
• 1:17:29
Speaker 2: Right, there's Mitch. Hey.
• 1:17:30

• 1:17:54
Speaker 1: Feel Good play good. Here's the true classic game of
• 1:17:56
  Speaker 1: the week.
• 1:17:57
Speaker 3: Army at Navy America's game. Okay, Navy's favorite at six
• 1:18:01
Speaker 3: and a half. The total points in the game is
• 1:18:03
Speaker 3: thirty seven and a half, fifty stars, thirteen bars. These
• 1:18:05
Speaker 3: colors don't run. I think it's unpatriotic for me to
• 1:18:08
Speaker 3: even sit and say this team's been the other. Even
• 1:18:10
Speaker 3: though Navy was in a three way tie for their
• 1:18:12
Speaker 3: conference championship and Army was six and five, so I
• 1:18:17
Speaker 3: would pick a Navy to cover six and a half. However,
• 1:18:20
Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the over thirty seven and a half.
• 1:18:22
Speaker 1: William, thirty seven and a half, let me go defense.
• 1:18:28
Speaker 2: I'll go under thirty.
• 1:18:29
Speaker 1: Okay, I like that.
• 1:18:30
Speaker 2: Let me just fight for the under this game with
• 1:18:32
  Speaker 2: these two teams.
• 1:18:33
Speaker 4: I agree with you.
• 1:18:34
Speaker 5: Under thirty seven and a half's always been a safe
• 1:18:36
Speaker 5: play in the Service Academy games. Even though it's baked
• 1:18:38
Speaker 5: into the number, it's not baked enough into the number.
• 1:18:40
  Speaker 4: You know.
• 1:18:41
Speaker 5: I told you. I went back and reviewed the outcast
• 1:18:43
Speaker 5: and the actual hardest image from that outcast was we
• 1:18:47
Speaker 5: were on air when they played the anthem and you
• 1:18:50
Speaker 5: could see us, and someone took a picture from the
• 1:18:53
Speaker 5: ground up and we all got hands over hearts and
• 1:18:56
Speaker 5: old Glory is flying in the background.
• 1:18:58
  Speaker 4: I'd be lying if I.
• 1:18:58
Speaker 5: Said I didn't get little Missy looking at that. We
• 1:19:02
Speaker 5: did that broadcast for our country. Yeah, this game is
• 1:19:04
Speaker 5: being played for our country.
• 1:19:05
Speaker 3: All there's a lot of things that bust what the
• 1:19:07
Speaker 3: boys doesn't do for their country. We believe in this country.
• 1:19:11
Speaker 2: I believe in these men that have taken the field.
• 1:19:13
Speaker 2: We're not at war yet, we're not overseas.
• 1:19:17
Speaker 1: There's done a lot of things busting with the boys
• 1:19:18
Speaker 1: won't do for this country.
• 1:19:20
Speaker 2: But yeah, we're always in a war. Every days of war.
• 1:19:22
Speaker 2: That all cast was a war.
• 1:19:24
Speaker 1: The trolls in Pate's comments section. That's a war going on.
• 1:19:28
Speaker 3: There, wars that take place every single day. It's whether
• 1:19:30
Speaker 3: you're gonna answer the bell or not.
• 1:19:32
Speaker 5: I wish you could have my seat because the moment
• 1:19:35
Speaker 5: you said, we're not at warr yet, JP has been
• 1:19:38
Speaker 5: scrolling his phone for ten minutes, hasn't said a word,
• 1:19:40
Speaker 5: and he just went every day's a war.
• 1:19:46
  Speaker 2: All right?
• 1:19:46
Speaker 4: So under over yep.
• 1:19:49
  Speaker 1: Fun.
• 1:19:49
Speaker 3: In fact, this game is teeing place in what Baltimore? Correct,
• 1:19:52
Speaker 3: last time they were in Baltimore, Army broke a twelve
• 1:19:56
  Speaker 3: game losing streak.
• 1:19:57
Speaker 2: So if that is the case of Barmy's gonna win
• 1:19:58
Speaker 2: this game, it'll be an undergame. So it's good for you.
