- 0:00something amazing has happened this week the three of us have all watched
- 0:05the same movie and all watched the same TV show this never happens any in
- 0:11theaters in theaters it's like went on a date except we
- 0:17didn't I had to give myself a handy me too Luke really there's another
- 0:23thing D don't oh no you had someone with you yeah I was there with my friend and
- 0:28his child so I'm not even going to best we move on my lawyer has advised me
- 0:33not to comment he was also there he was
- 0:39there welcome to multiple
- 0:42nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and
- 0:46Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All
- 0:52Things
- 0:57nerdy but no we all went to the mov we all saw Indiana Jones and the dollar
- 1:03Destiny and I'll go first are we going to do spoilers just so I
- 1:08know um look there is something I want to ask about and it is a spoiler we
- 1:13don't necessarily have to name it um maybe we
- 1:18do what if we do General Impressions now and then at the end yes come back toss
- 1:23some spoilers out I'm gonna say I liked
- 1:27it I also liked it I like to Adit I've got I've got
- 1:33questions there were times where I was going to go down a path of trying to
- 1:38pick it apart or something but then I stopped and went it's just a
- 1:42movie yeah just sit back and watch now it wasn't a necessarily good movie but
- 1:49it was enjoyable it was certainly better I think we can agree than kingdom of the
- 1:54Crystal Skull yes yes definitely my my major complaint with it
- 2:00is that it's too long yeah it did not need to be that long and the the middle in
- 2:06particular was that chase scene yeah we didn't need all actually
- 2:12keep that one lose the one in New York City that one didn't need to really it
- 2:16didn't need as many Chase scenes or yeah there was a lot of just aimless chasing
- 2:23scenes with no they didn't Advance the plot or anything yeah because the thing
- 2:27is uh in the other original Indiana Jones movies they have
- 2:32far fewer locations but the journey from one to the next they are being pursued
- 2:39yeah it's exciting on the way somewhere not just this is just they turn up
- 2:42somewhere and the bad guys are there too so there's a Chase um which doesn't
- 2:47doesn't increase the tension in fact it pauses the action so you can watch a
- 2:52Chase sequence okay I think if they had cut shrunk them down or not had as many
- 2:56I think it would have the movie would have been the right length yeah mm look
- 3:00the beginning I was I was smiling I was like all right all right and in the
- 3:04middle I was like you've lost me a bit and in the end I was smiling again so
- 3:09yeah so we'll talk about the ending later obviously of course um the
- 3:13beginning I'd read a lot of reviews online that people said the flashback
- 3:18sequence was great as soon as it cut to present day they tuned out I disagree I
- 3:22thought it was great but continued being great after that I think cutting from
- 3:27Indie at his best to old man Indie and this is for those who
- 3:32haven't seen it this is not kingom Crystal Skull old man Indie this is old
- 3:36man Indie yeah this is retirement from his shitty job goes back to his shitty
- 3:41apartment rides the subway old man Indie fortune and Glory he's an old
- 3:46man that's right I appreciated that they didn't in in Crystal Skull I'm just
- 3:51gonna turn my mic down a bit in Crystal Skull they had for my tastes too much of
- 3:57him as an older guy doing things he's not really would have been up for he
- 4:02swinging around too much fighting big people kind of thing none of that in
- 4:06this he's an old man yeah yeah Rides a
- 4:09Horse he does stuff but it's like age appropriate horse with the riding the
- 4:16horse I even think he told the the stunt guy to like pull it back a bit like to
- 4:21try and get him to be ride a bit older not yeah yeah but I I still want to know
- 4:27because there's been a few articles about how like Phoebe like she's worse
- 4:29than you thought she would have been B was great in it she was absolutely fine
- 4:34she was absolutely F I do not know what people have against her here's the thing
- 4:39too if you didn't like her character that's fine because she's kind of an
- 4:43antagonist for most of to like her yeah until she redeems herself later in the
- 4:48film you know she's a Skelly wag yes but
- 4:53yeah I I got I got a shock about why people are s of having a go at her when
- 4:58you know why Luke you know why yeah she
- 5:02has a vagina yeah and ind's not using it
- 5:06see capure is 10 times more irritating than Phoebe wallbridge but because he
- 5:12banged her it's like oh IND he got a bit away yeah yeah it's all right yeah also
- 5:17Spielberg he got in there it was a Tom Cruz movie he would
- 5:22have banged her I got some Tom Cruz news later but oh yeah I don't know there's a there's
- 5:28plenty of people he's not banging these days too I think he really does
- 5:31understand that no one wants to see a middle-aged man middleaged to elderly
- 5:35man banging young chicks no one wants to see that at least that's what they tell
- 5:39me did they I think he learned that from The Mummy didn't he who did he bang in the
- 5:46mummy Nick Miller I never saw it but I never saw it but evidently the
- 5:52love interestes in that movie for Tom Cruz was like some like 20 years younger
- 5:55than him or something honestly I don't remember it's a very for movie I've
- 6:01forgotten basically all of that movie and I did watch it I know I watched it I
- 6:05know I didn't Jake Lloyd's in it right yeah Jake Lloyd really Jake Lloyd jaky
- 6:10not Jake Lloyd Jake Nick Miller who's that guy Jake Nick Miller I don't know
- 6:15his name it's not Jake Lloyd not Jake Lloyd are you an angel no I'm Tom Cruz
- 6:22well perhaps yes I [Laughter] am my Tom Cruz laugh and my Christopher
- 6:29lamber laugh are essentially the same laugh so that's their fault not yours
- 6:34thank you thank you that is support that's real support you know what occurred to me
- 6:40today I was thinking about it um okay I'll give you the train of thought I was
- 6:44trying to think what ethnical background Indie has right like obviously is
- 6:49Anglo-Saxon or is it more Germanic or trying to think of the origin of the
- 6:53word jones you know and then I thought well his dad's Scottish so that's just
- 6:58the answer but then Ur to me sha Conor does not ever change his
- 7:04accent no matter what nationality he is playing that's true he's played a
- 7:09Spanish accented Egyptian oh Egyptian sorry yeah a Russian in uh that's right
- 7:15Hunt for Red October still just kept the Scottish accent even James Bond who's
- 7:19supposed to be just like you know marmalade British Scotland like he
- 7:24didn't ever even pretend yeah like James
- 7:28M also Scottish I've never once heard him use his real accent in a movie yeah
- 7:33Christian Bale doesn't speak exactly wherever he's from Welsh or whatever he is
- 7:39yeah okay even when Christian Bale drops character in a movie and starts yelling
- 7:46at some guy he'll still do it ACC yeah he does character did you watch that
- 7:51interview with um Tom Holland that said that he was in Britain and he got hired
- 7:56to do an ad and they're like all all action and he's like
- 8:00this product blah blah blah and they're like sorry are you doing an American
- 8:03accent he's like oh sorry that's just my acting voice that's
- 8:08funny yeah well his is pretty convincing honestly not all of them yeah agree H
- 8:13Bennett Cumberbatch is a bit but he's just so cool it doesn't matter I am an American
- 8:20man and other aside have you seen that clip where Harrison Ford tells Benedict
- 8:25Cumberbatch that he's a big fan no they're both on the couch it must be
- 8:29gram Norton and um Harrison Ford and Benedict and then Harrison Ford just
- 8:34goes I've got to stop here and just tell you I'm just such a big fan of yours and
- 8:38uh Benedict come back he like what and I've got to take a minute
- 8:45guys Dan I have some news for you I've done some research Indiana Jones is
- 8:51Scottish okay there you go all right the Jones are a family of paternal Scottish
- 8:56descent okay okaying to So based on on Sean connory yes is there
- 9:03more evidence though than beyond
- 9:07that Henry and Jones is definitely like you know anglosaxon in some way so it
- 9:13makes sense he be Scottish speaking of backgrounds is not
- 9:17a spoiler I just wanted to say I really liked ma Mickelson in this yes in dollar
- 9:22Destiny and that scene when the guy delivers the food and he's like oh where
- 9:29you from yeah and I was like oh do that pleas mate and I'm like no
- 9:35he's such a good NY because he's like was characterization not just I mean he
- 9:41did also say some evil things but there was just the way he behaved was just
- 9:45like he's a [ __ ] and we'll get into a
- 9:49bit more later yeah yeah yeah I was
- 9:52about to say spoiler um I still think this
- 9:58suffered uh from what Crystal Skull did in terms of too many digital
- 10:03enhancements however yeah I agree much much more subtle much more subdued than
- 10:09Crystal Skull yeah yeah arguably a lot more
- 10:14practical right but a few too many fake
- 10:17backgrounds for my personal text I agree 100% necessarily they were at some
- 10:24beautiful locations I just don't know why they didn't just film those I
- 10:27suspect perhaps Ford is an 80-year old man and you just you got to shoot him
- 10:32indoors most of the time conditioning like maybe it's as simple as that yeah I
- 10:37don't mean patronize him no no no actually I think it just comes down to
- 10:41just cheaper but you're there anyway there's outdoor shots but maybe that's a
- 10:45second unit are they there yeah exactly like they probably just filmed
- 10:50most of this on a lot somewhere I've watched an interview
- 10:54today it just cropped up in insta but it was uh red carpet Harrison Ford and some
- 10:59journalist smartass journalists Australian I think goes to him uh Mr
- 11:03Ford what's it like playing an angry old man at the end of his
- 11:07[Laughter]
- 11:13career what' he say he just stared at him it was amazing I like Carris affording
- 11:20interviews I think if he if he's getting along with the interviewer he's very
- 11:25funny if he's not [ __ ] God help that interviewer yeah you're
- 11:32talking even if you do get on but he just thinks it might be funny to wind
- 11:38you up you will be wound up yeah that all the the I guess interview cycle for
- 11:44blade run of 249 when it was Harris and Ryan Gosling Ryan I cannot believe how
- 11:50funny they are together yeah to and like I mean if I was interviewing them I'd be
- 11:55like please continue this is go yeah that's I'm going to sit back and you
- 11:59guys just talk um but I can see that might be annoying if you actually want
- 12:03to ask them questions yeah yeah interview each other yeah so need to ask
- 12:08is is this it for Harrison Ford is he or do we think or there more no he's
- 12:13promised this is not it for him it's just it for Indie yeah he's not gonna do
- 12:17Indiana Jones anymore but he's gonna act until he physically can't I think is
- 12:21what he said so he's gonna do like a Sean Connor and just once he calls it
- 12:25just disappear slap someone and then die yeah he's going to start in League of
- 12:30Extraordinary Gentlemen 2 as as the quarter main character
- 12:37yeah in an Indiana he is he is decades older than connory was when he played
- 12:43his dad because I think I think Conor was 13
- 12:47years older than Harrison Ford when they played in that film
- 12:52anyway he he wasn't as old as we thought he was Harrison's never been young for
- 12:57us he's always start he was in his yeah yeah we've never seen 20-year-old
- 13:03Harrison Ford in anything no just those photos of him as a roie for the
- 13:07doors that's what he was doing when he was 20 he was smart though he was talking
- 13:13about again old interviews coming up because of that IND cycle or whatnot
- 13:17talking about how because we know he was a carpenter we've talked about that
- 13:20before but the reason he was doing that is because he was smart he watched all
- 13:23of his other active colleagues oh my God so when he goes That's the cup of a
- 13:28carpenter you reckon was noticing that from his own personal experience that
- 13:31was unscripted Dan he
- 13:34[Laughter]
- 13:38like he knew if he could just Outlast all of his competition in Hollywood
- 13:45eventually he he'd make it so he was like what's a skill I have I'm a
- 13:49carpenter I will work as a carpenter in that area a lot better than being like a
- 13:54waiter yes exactly more consistent live off The Carpenter's weight actual money
- 13:58yeah like a wife and kids at that point too and he was working for people in
- 14:02Hollywood not just in a you know kind of in a restaurant but in their homes and
- 14:06things the rumor is that he used to be the one to go to if he wanted to have
- 14:09like his secret drugs compartment built in jacuzzi I mean if I was going to get a
- 14:14if I was the kind of guy who had a Jacuzzi I probably wanton a drug
- 14:17compartment as well yeah and you'd want Harrison for to make it for you yeah
- 14:21yeah absolutely still to this day even today yeah and it reminds me of Anie
- 14:25remember that story about Anie when he he started that company before he' even
- 14:29started a film uh European chimney repairs or something like that because
- 14:34he knew that people were into European brick he didn't know how to build a
- 14:37chimney he was just a big man but and he wanted a job that got him outside and
- 14:41was lifting things yeah and he got all his was that he'd he he'd go over to the
- 14:47and talk to the person and say ah we can't do it for that little let me go
- 14:51talk to my mate and then they'd go and speak in German to one another knowing
- 14:55full well they' take whatever money they were offer it come back he like okay we
- 14:58might do it for this this but he says he doesn't want to you know yeah and they
- 15:01just had this fullon business going yeah he was and then he bought all the real
- 15:06estate in saner and then he didn't need to work at all anymore yeah again
- 15:10because that's where he was hanging out at the beach and then he became a movie
- 15:14star because he could because he didn't have to do anything else as a hobby he
- 15:18became the biggest star in the world
- 15:20yeah yeah interesting SM I mean smart
- 15:25guy yeah I told you I watched the Terminator a couple of week ago
- 15:30um I like Anie and just about everything is in however I will say James Cameron
- 15:37is one of the few people who knows what an's specific strengths are which is
- 15:42looking tough and not saying anything like you believe that that's not an
- 15:48Austrian accent but a robot voice in that movie whereas in every other movie
- 15:53you're like where is he from like why does he you know like you mentioned
- 15:57Commando before it was like is this an Austrian expat working for the American
- 16:02Military yeah I've never thought of that yeah I think it worked well in Conan
- 16:08though oh sure oh yeah yeah yeah he punches a Samaran
- 16:13accent yeah prove it's not
- 16:17yeah uh I liked the tone of Indie I thought the tone was right Y in a funny
- 16:24way I thought the the closest other
- 16:29Indie tonally speaking is fate of Atlantis oh sure rather than one of the
- 16:35films yeah the game because it's kind of got that Global
- 16:41feeling like Temple of Doom the whole thing set in one one place you know what
- 16:45I mean it's all in India Raiders is
- 16:47almost all in uh Egypt yeah uh this
- 16:52one's all over the place and it's almost a series of fetch quests find this and
- 16:57that'll help you find this and then this other thing quite glob Troy like yeah one
- 17:03thing one thing I I found quite weird about with it being very glob Troy
- 17:06troppy it's the word yeah I can say it is they didn't have the and the red ink
- 17:12very often no just the one shot with the it whereas it's weird because they
- 17:18did travel around a lot but there's only one map
- 17:23true yeah and I was looking for that I'm trying I'm trying to remember if they
- 17:27overused it in Crystal Skull because I think Crystal Skull was a a cautionary
- 17:31tale to them because this pretty much tried to do the opposite of everything
- 17:34in that movie this they used it so late in the movie it would have made more
- 17:37sense to maybe if you're going to use it once use it earlier I would agree with
- 17:41that be going where is it one other disappointment I have with this I feel
- 17:46like John Williams phoned it in nothing super memorable yeah this the
- 17:52most memorable stuff was the existing done yeah yeah where they brought back
- 17:57you know well characters and themes and things like that oh that's the music
- 18:01that I'm associate with that but there's no what's the been trying to retire for
- 18:06a long time like the Ark of the Covenant has a theme the Holy Grail has a theme
- 18:13uh there's a theme there's various themes in Temple Temple Doom's music is [ __ ] awesome
- 18:20oh it's stuck in there but this just let the man
- 18:25retire he wants to retire let him go yeah yeah they pulling him out of
- 18:30retirement to make one last I wonder if he even did it he just said you know
- 18:34have a go and I'll I'll approve it when it's fine to his team yeah yeah because
- 18:41it's all existing themes that he'd written already yeah I actually I'll be
- 18:47interested I'll check the soundtrack on Spotify maybe maybe it was just like
- 18:50down in the mix of something I just felt like there wasn't like I was expecting a
- 18:53theme for the McGuffin because he usually Indiana Jones usually has that
- 18:57but but I think Al the McGuffin was watered down by Like You could argue
- 19:03first that that tablet they had to find was like a a Proto McGuffin sure like
- 19:09would it have had its own theme and then the actual device had its own theme and
- 19:13then maybe it's because the arc is so Central to Raiders of the Lost Arc that
- 19:19anytime they get near it the music swells the theme comes in you know
- 19:22that's Elite Motif whereas this movie didn't really ask for that kind of yeah
- 19:27I suppose so recognition I don't I don't know mentioned M mson he he was so
- 19:33good I I love his style in this too I
- 19:38love his [ __ ] clothes I mean to a point we'll go to the end
- 19:45later he's so [ __ ] stylish you know yeah um but I also like that he is kind
- 19:50of you know we talked about last week about how belloc in Raiders is like the
- 19:55same as Indie but just on the opposite side of the coin they've brought this
- 20:00back in he's an intellectual you he's a scientist he wants to find this for his
- 20:05own personal motives
- 20:08um but also we now have one three and
- 20:12five with Nazis because every time they do one without them it's not as good and
- 20:18then the next one they're like put the nais back back in yeah we like to see him punching
- 20:24Nazis I I still I love the motivation for I about say I love the motivation for
- 20:31the naris though I it's a different spin on yes very much
- 20:37wants to do we'll get we'll go specifics at the end too yeah yeah no I I was
- 20:42pleasantly surprised by's move on to something else because we're going to
- 20:45come back to this and I keep getting very close to saying a spoiler no
- 20:49worries I'll just well let me just say listeners I think it's good if you're an
- 20:52Indi Jones fan I think it's definitely worth checking out if you're not sure I
- 20:55think it's worth your time just go just go it's fine
- 21:00I'm as I watch Temple Doom
- 21:05Raiders watch it's because you're a 40y old man you're not a 10y old child
- 21:12anymore right you know what I should to do the M today okay Luke thanks thanks
- 21:16it was from from Last Crusade to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was 19 years from
- 21:21um Crystal Skull to this was 15 really yeah and it just like
- 21:26Disturbed it's not so not like not such a big it's a similar Gap that's
- 21:33interesting yeah for some reason it feels that feels longer between like the
- 21:37first three in definitely like a lot longer I don't
- 21:41mean like it's years longer up gentlemen we got more behind us than a hit yeah speak for
- 21:48yourself look before we get off movies um movie news lots more uh I I watched
- 21:54something this week and I don't know why I hadn't watched this before and after I
- 21:59watched it I don't know why this isn't a bigger thing have you guys seen
- 22:0665 dri
- 22:09yeah versus dinosaurs it is excellent is
- 22:15it see I think I heard that it was garbage absolute seriousness there's
- 22:21nothing Camp about this movie right like you would be tempted
- 22:25to Godzilla this up a little no no no no no this is terrifying this is a man
- 22:32crashed lands on Earth 65 million years
- 22:35ago on the day the asteroid is coming to wipe out the
- 22:41dinosaurs yeah right the world pod no he just has to get the [ __ ]
- 22:47off it's excellent Adam Driver is a [ __ ] star and as I was I must admit I
- 22:54was watching this he did this little smirk and I was like man he's got almost
- 22:58a young Harrison Ford look have they ever been in a movie together and I
- 23:01started to Google and then I was like of course they have of course they [ __ ]
- 23:05have um this movie is dead set excellent okay all right and this this
- 23:12is obviously a visual effects Extravaganza except they never draw
- 23:16attention to themselves H like the only reason you know there must be CGI is
- 23:21because you can't get dinosaurs you know not yet and
- 23:27spaceships Etc no I think you both really like this one
- 23:32of on we spoke about it when it was coming out and saying like we all wanted
- 23:35to go see it I just one as one that s slipped off the radar this should have
- 23:39been the biggest movie of the year I I heard that it wasn't good I'm sure I did
- 23:44so I kind of dismissed it yeah okay yeah minute one he's on a ship crashing into
- 23:49Earth like they don't waste any time there is no fat on this movie also have
- 23:54a guess how long the movie goes for the runtime hour and a half
- 23:5990 minutes exactly that's perfect yeah
- 24:02they went feature length no extended sequence there's history but there's no
- 24:08[ __ ] two hours max yeah yeah no it's it's excellent P it on this I might
- 24:15watch that today after I finish watching Silo if you don't like it I'll eat my [ __ ]
- 24:19hat which one I'll get a hat and I'll eat
- 24:23it we get to pick which one yeah yeah my
- 24:28y so you're watching Soo now Luke I am I'm up to episode eight so I think I've
- 24:33got two more left yeah yeah another first in a long time that we've all
- 24:37watched a show at the same time we're all enjoying it and you're right it's so
- 24:42you're watching but you don't you don't know where it's
- 24:45going I was talking to Jenna and I were talking to a friend last night about it
- 24:49because he also watched it and he reminded me of things and I was like oh
- 24:53yeah they're gonna have to follow up on that and and I just got more and more
- 24:57excited about like more of it because it's just like I've forgotten that there were these
- 25:02other things that yeah yeah it's just so interesting like you don't
- 25:07know I have a theory well that's the thing have you
- 25:12finished Luke Tu episodes okay I'll give away absolutely nothing but even the
- 25:18things they do explain you still go well that could mean a number of things like
- 25:24there's no definitive answers that's what I liked about it it's like very
- 25:29satisfying because you find out what you wanted to find out you go oh hang on a
- 25:34minute yeah that's right yeah okay that
- 25:37mystery solved or is it the reason what I think my theory is is because they're
- 25:43in the sil they don't know why they don't remember and everything that's
- 25:47sort of a relic to the passo from cuz
- 25:50that it's it is Earth it is it's America like there's all the Relic you see stuff
- 25:56from America my is is they went down they built this side because of some Earth
- 26:03event and they the reason why they started to get rid of all these things
- 26:07of reminding people the outsides because people want to go outside and it is just
- 26:10dangerous out there and having that hope that maybe you one day go leads to
- 26:15problems so if you suppress that it's easier to keep people under control yeah
- 26:20well it's like that that myth of Utopia you know it's Thomas Moore wrote it in
- 26:23the you know whatever the 15th century and then again Alex Garland with the
- 26:28Beach you know if you have this perfect Society yeah you have to murder anyone
- 26:33who disrupts it or it's no longer perfect peach was a good movie and
- 26:38there's only like 10,000 people in there so to did you know that was Alex Garland
- 26:43I didn't until you said that yeah it didn't direct it Danny Bo directed it
- 26:48gin wrote it okay okay I didn't know I I yeah okay so like 10,000 people is not a lot
- 26:55and if you start to separate it's very hard cuz everyone has their own job and
- 27:01if you don't all work together it all falls apart but you can't have extra
- 27:05people in there because you can't support that either so it's
- 27:12yep so I think the people who are in control keeping them don't really
- 27:18understand why just have to wait see wait I'll find
- 27:24out you will find out some things but I can't it's great I'm upset that there's
- 27:29only two more episodes I wish I had to waited till the whole season was out cuz
- 27:34not like I'm watching it like back to back to back but I'm watching it and I'm
- 27:37enjoying it and I'm yeah I'm now no I'm watching I'm still watching an episode
- 27:42at a time because I get distracted and I play games sure and then I'll miss stuff
- 27:49yeah because I'm working on becoming seventh in Australia yeah yeah
- 27:55yeah I am I think about 40,000 away from being okay so my entire
- 28:02game I was about to say to me that's a lot but I know to you it's not I mean
- 28:06it's still a hurdle but you've done you've done leaps I think I don't think
- 28:10I'm even at 40,000 I think I'm Hospital need to SP a couple of weeks in hospital
- 28:17no I've now sort of burned all of the quick and easy games that's can I give
- 28:22you my gamer score no you cannot you might surprise you you have
- 28:28more than that you have
- 28:3257,000 Larry Nelson
- 28:35and then you have 12 12, or just 12
- 28:4112,000 12 you got 12 points you got one and an eighth achievement at some point
- 28:47oh hold on no sorry when I get an achievement I Sor I'm wrong sorry I was
- 28:50looking at the wrong number Matt you have 39 okay Dan you have eight oh
- 28:56that's my true achievement score is it yeah it's on a bell curve is it I'm glad to
- 29:01see M increases on that bell curve and not decreas no it didn't you have eight
- 29:05not 12 oh okay it was just a mistake [Laughter]
- 29:11fine yeah uh other movie news I was very excited to hear that apparently they're
- 29:17making more Elita movies yes I saw that
- 29:21so everything one's confirmed and more it was confirmed by accident too uh
- 29:27James ceron whether he meant to or not confirm them because he said he was
- 29:31asked in an interview why he sold their
- 29:34house in uh in in California yes and he said well on Avatar I'm working in
- 29:39Wellington and Los Angeles but then on the new Elita movies I'm going to be in
- 29:43Austin so it didn't make sense anymore and then everyone was like new alah
- 29:47movies yeah so good stuff I am looking forward to that he's not going to be the
- 29:53director is he is he planning on just producer no he didn't direct the first
- 29:57one it was Robert Robert Rodriguez yeah
- 30:01Mr inconsistent himself yeah yeah he's
- 30:05got uh another movie out at the moment that I've completely forgot the name of
- 30:11with Ben Affleck in it uh oh okay but I know with the first Elita um
- 30:17not that didn't it did it did okay at the box office they did like 400 million
- 30:23or something like it did enough that he said we might be able to make more yeah
- 30:28didn't do as much as they were hoping I think it got a lot of love after the
- 30:32movie came out as well cuz I didn't see it till a lot l i I watched a trailer
- 30:37later because somebody had said oh this movie was under was underrated and I
- 30:41watched the trailer and I was like that looks [ __ ] incredible and then I
- 30:44watched and really enjoyed it so I'm happy okay but maybe I was
- 30:49just in the wrong frame of mind I'd happily watch another one H you know you
- 30:53just said Luke something that sparked you said that it picked up uh
- 30:59popularity later yeah I watched a video
- 31:03essay uh recently on The Disappearance of the Home Video Market including VHS
- 31:10and more DVD even more about how a movie
- 31:13could do badly at the cinema but do so well in the Home Market that it
- 31:18eventually then get sequels Kevin career that will never happen again because you
- 31:25don't get residuals from streaming I mean people are on strike now trying to
- 31:30but you know what I mean like you don't you don't make money other than your
- 31:34initial sales of streaming so it's not like things will gain
- 31:38momentum anymore than they used to that seems a little bit wrong doesn't it or
- 31:44does it I don't know I don't understand money we can talk about the strike in
- 31:48that actually we've got a bunch of news related to it so strikes plural yeah
- 31:52strik Point yeah if you haven't heard listeners the writers have been on
- 31:54strike for two months now and then now the actors are onri
- 31:58M so I guess we're going to have to wait for all sorts of movies and TV shows and
- 32:05everything yeah next next couple years are not going to be great for movies and
- 32:10TV oh we're gonna get so much reality TV yeah yeah so Deadpool 3 they've shut
- 32:15down uh Mission Impossible that's disappointing because you know those
- 32:19great photo set photos from Deadpool have come out showing Wolverine finally in the yellow
- 32:26outfit the cast of up walked out of the premere to go on
- 32:30strike oh wow yeah I mean they presum they people knew they were going to do
- 32:36it but it was kind of a now they're not striking for their own benefit right
- 32:40they're striking to support the writers or are theying too they're striking for their
- 32:45own as well now and because a lot of people are saying [ __ ] Rich
- 32:49celebrities I haven't got enough money and it's like well no it's not about
- 32:52them it's about everybody else who's yeah it's it's yeah that's right because
- 32:57barg is the the one strength that unions have and because the the it the
- 33:03association of motion pictures or whatever just yesterday or today put out
- 33:08that uh contract basically they wanted to make this deal where if you're a um
- 33:14an extra what do they call them background actor or whatever you go in
- 33:19for one day they scan you into the computer and then they can just use you
- 33:23in films forever and you don't get paid anything what yeah they were trying to
- 33:26get the the guil to AG that and it was like [ __ ] off no thank you I mean that's
- 33:32what that Black Mirror episode was about so you get paid for one day of work one
- 33:37day and then your career is just done because how the [ __ ] are you ever gonna
- 33:39get any more work after that yeah yeah see this is why I I'm not liking the
- 33:45direction of AI it's he just getting rid
- 33:49of writers actors everyone but thought it was going to kill us all and and take
- 33:54over the world and robots were going to rise up no it's just it's just [ __ ]
- 33:58up our entertainment industry one like don't worry that's not going to happen
- 34:02and then they literally are like this is what we'd like to do and it's like of
- 34:06course they said that like yeah well it's even like with the
- 34:11new apps out there that um could like use someone's mimic someone's voice like
- 34:16that's going to take away jobs from voice actors I saw somebody made on it
- 34:20was a YouTube video somebody made it's Johnny Cash singing Barbie Girl yeah I
- 34:26heard that yeah it is incredible it's not Johnny Cash but you wouldn't know it
- 34:31just sounds like Johnny Cash singing Barbe this one I so if it was a Barbie
- 34:36girl it's [ __ ] great and I think there's a big difference between someone
- 34:40doing the voice and acting that out like so the miming devices just program it
- 34:45into a computer and going do it I think there's a huge difference and you're
- 34:49very Pro human being Luke it's not crazy isn't
- 34:56it interview the other day head of Disney [ __ ] was he didn't have a lot
- 35:01of nice things to say about the strikes he which I guess he's he's a
- 35:06business yeah his point of view is basically you are gonna [ __ ] this
- 35:10industry if you all go on strike yeah and also I think what he was saying is
- 35:16that yeah but he he said their demands are unrealistic which yeah and I think
- 35:22his point is that everyone has had to
- 35:25make allowances yeah and sacrifices
- 35:29postco and in the streaming era streaming is not profitable for
- 35:35anybody it's just not and so they still haven't figured out how how is this
- 35:40going to work like this system doesn't work we're all just pretending
- 35:43everything's fine but it's not yeah we as audiences demand it and as we've
- 35:47discussed so many old filmmakers and stuff are begging us to go back to the
- 35:51cinema and we're like no yeah well they're not going to make movies anymore
- 35:57eventually continues that's the bottom line I think that I I think that's the future like
- 36:02you don't have that traditional format anymore I think that they certainly
- 36:06won't be the $400 million budget movies well and then Nicholas winning Reen came
- 36:12out this week and he said that he said that and he said and good let's just
- 36:16[ __ ] burn it down see what happens all right M that's yeah I mean that's
- 36:21danger is it you have a movie that goes for an hour and a half two hours that
- 36:25costs $400 million and then we'll have a television show like Silo which we're
- 36:30all loving which has how many hours and probably costs less than that in
- 36:35total yeah 100% it would have yeah there's no way how does that work yeah
- 36:42yeah arguably now aru Soo is better than a lot of movies that are coming out yes
- 36:48yeah oh yeah yeah and a lot cheaper and look Indie I I liked Indie but it
- 36:54wasn't a good movie I'm not going to say it was a good movie it was and the thing
- 36:58is I know it wasn't because this week I watched a couple of really good movies
- 37:02and in fact Matt one of them was on your recommendation because I went watch Jack
- 37:06Reacher and it is [ __ ] great it's good movie and I hadn't seen it I'd seen
- 37:10the shitty Sequel and I also watched that again this week and it's very [ __ ]
- 37:15still enjoyed it I still enjoyed it but man tonally it's it's not even remotely
- 37:20cinema cinema it's it's basically like a straight to DVD sequel different
- 37:26director um completely different tone weird
- 37:30editing weird pacing really just not as
- 37:33good but yeah that Jacker is dead set good movie Again movie couldn't trim
- 37:40anything out of there's no fat on that movie you know interesting main
- 37:44character interesting plot interesting villain is it played by the same person or is it
- 37:50yeah Tom Cruz again okay yeah so that's the only thing that carries over and uh
- 37:54KOB at the start it comes up a Tom Cruz
- 37:57film of the sequel ah so maybe it's that whole thing where Tom Cruz got his hands
- 38:04on it a little bit more call
- 38:07the yeah um I watched another good good movie this week too and this is an old
- 38:13one I just I'll just shout it out um do you guys remember The Thomas Crown
- 38:17Affair yeah with from the9 yeah so I reckon you could you
- 38:22could if you tacked on a [ __ ] title sequence onto this you could just say
- 38:28this was a James Bond movie because this is he's as much playing James Bond in
- 38:32this as as in any of his Bond movies it's just a great movie original concept
- 38:38I mean know it's a remake before you write in but an original concept um you
- 38:44know just just a solid story again 90 minutes here are the stakes here's the
- 38:50protagonist here's the Ant And as here's the conclusion bam wasn't that good like
- 38:55there's no excuse for for all these I mean I know it's easy to rag on
- 39:00superhero movies at the moment but just like you come out of so many of them you
- 39:04go that was fine I guess but like yeah they're all the same now yeah like
- 39:10literally they're all the same now that's James gun said that the problem
- 39:13is that they're all just saying the same [ __ ] what they should have done for the
- 39:18Marvel ones is just endgame stopped
- 39:25yeah I love game but I'll never watch it again not cuz I'm boycotting but it's
- 39:30just not the kind of it's just got no replayability like what was what was the
- 39:34one before endgame um Infinity War Infinity War yeah yeah like it was also
- 39:39good I couldn't tell you what happened in that one as opposed to endgame like
- 39:43it was just the conclusion to a very long Saga as Luke said it was a very
- 39:47very good ending walk away I think the problem we've got now is a lot of the
- 39:52actors that we know they're all sort of moving on retiring so they all a lot of
- 39:56movies now are he's going to be who's going to be the new person and that and
- 40:00that and that and I'm I I think that's where it's struggling bit so if they had
- 40:03have stopped and then just start again pick a new don't startop V man startop
- 40:07with a different one and pick a new storyline and just play it out
- 40:11again well James Gunner said that is what he's doing with Superman yeah
- 40:16because people got confused which is fair because he is continuing over some
- 40:21actors in roles but the character will be reset so even though it's the same
- 40:26person as a character don't don't you know for example I think margar Robbie
- 40:30may still be Harley Quinn none of the films you've seen are relevant they
- 40:35don't exist I can sort of see that because she is good at Harley Quinn
- 40:39yeah's and she's enjoying doing that makes money
- 40:43too gal may stay or may not she you know they'll probably get a feeling for how
- 40:50people feel say that but I think Wonder
- 40:54Woman 2 the second one yeah was the
- 40:58third biggest money loser after the
- 41:02Flash and one other all of the superhero movies I guess depends on that whether
- 41:08that's her fault or or his perception I just don't think she's as big a draw as
- 41:13no I don't think that's her fault it's that movie was sort of set which didn't
- 41:18quite make sense because remember like when she was first introduced it's hey
- 41:21you haven't been around since like World War I and there oh except for this time
- 41:24in the 80s where you were running around doing all this stuff like
- 41:28itas on you and stuff yeah and even though they did try to go oh she broke
- 41:33them so it's fine it's it's really come on I didn't mind that movie I'll say I
- 41:38didn't mind it the second one I Haven seen it yeah I thought the second one
- 41:41was better than the first one because I thought the first one took itself way
- 41:44too seriously for what it was and the second one knew it was garbage and just
- 41:48went let's just be cheesy and cam maybe I should watch it well the reason people
- 41:52were asking James G about this is because the news came out about the rest
- 41:56of the cast for Superman man including um yes uh [ __ ] him I can't think of his
- 42:02name Nathan fillian Nathan fillian as the green lanon yeah what I I knew it
- 42:08was K you know Green lanon L he is Luke and then everybody
- 42:13was like hang on a minute he's already in Suicide Squad as that character and
- 42:18then James was like no no no yeah none of that exists anymore we're rebooting
- 42:25he even said you could watch no they've made it and they've said you
- 42:29can watch this without having seen season one or the movie and it doesn't
- 42:33make the slightest difference but don't know mate just a
- 42:39different Adventure this is not helping James and what also is not helping is
- 42:45we're still getting the Joker Sequel and we're the Batman
- 42:48sequel oh yeah good point the Robert patson one and isn't the Joker one a
- 42:55musical yes apparently it makes sense
- 43:00somehow well I think Luke had a good theory that if it's set in a mental
- 43:06institution could be some kind of
- 43:11extended not dream hallucination or you
- 43:15know um psychotic
- 43:20episode but like that the thing that concerns me is they say it's like a
- 43:25we've heard it's going to be musical which is the difference between a
- 43:28musical and being a musical scene true except that they've cast lady gagar yeah
- 43:34I'm know she's done some acting but I know she was in like American Horror
- 43:39Story i' never saw it was she any good in that I didn't see that but I saw I
- 43:43stopped watching American Horror Story before was born yeah I heard she was
- 43:48that movie that they keep making every 20 years yeah
- 43:52yeah it was very good it was very very good actually like if you just was good
- 43:57in it yeah yeah but she played like a pop star but it's not like she had to
- 44:04act you know what I mean I mean no that's I don't mean to be uh diminishing
- 44:09but but she was playing like a stretch for as a role
- 44:15sort of thing yeah doesn't mean she doesn't mean yeah Anyan doesn't require
- 44:19she was perfectly convincing that she's familiar with how to behave that way
- 44:23yeah yeah yeah yeah one more movie news I wanted to talk about before we move on is that
- 44:29people are apparently loving Oppenheimer I saw the trailer before Indie last
- 44:33night and it reminded me that I really can't wait to see this movie I might go
- 44:37and see it this Wednesday if it's
- 44:42out no it won't be oh wait what day it is yeah it is it does come out next week
- 44:46comes out the 20th um that's exciting I am sick of
- 44:52hearing that there's a rivalry between this and the Barbie movie because there
- 44:56really isn't are you you really think that people were the same audience were
- 45:00going oh [ __ ] I was going to go see Oppenheimer but the Barbie movies out as
- 45:04well like surely this is two completely different demographics I am going to go
- 45:08see the Barbie movie so H and I have discussed that maybe we'll go to the
- 45:12movies at the same time and then she'll go into Barbie and I'll go into
- 45:16Oppenheimer yeah from what I've seen is there sort of saying people saying like
- 45:20if you love Barbie you'll love this movie if you don't like Barbie you'll
- 45:24love this movie I don't know anything about Barbie mean you is there a law is
- 45:29there like is it just um um you you know the law of Barbie there's Barbie and
- 45:34there's K Ken yeah yeah there do seem to be some jokes about that in the film are
- 45:40they gonna is there gonna be a joke about him not having a dick because
- 45:42that's literally all I know about Ken that's all I know about Ryan goling
- 45:48he doesn't have a dick but like what the whole movie seen
- 45:53Dick they get sucked into the real world and then they have to deal with that is
- 45:58that what it is oh great great so it's it's Masters of the Universe from 1985 all over
- 46:04again a Mattel property and I am hoping
- 46:08I'm I'm almost ready tobie starring the great Frank lella
- 46:15Frank don't tell me what I can and can't touch lella skor
- 46:21um we need to support the Barbie movie because it's just occurred to me that Mattel own
- 46:27also own He-Man and we want them to think that their old 80s properties are
- 46:32worth money now and there are rumors about that happening please please do
- 46:37and we want a good He-Man movie because we got screwed over the first time
- 46:41really did I don't know what you're talking about that He-Man movie from the
- 46:4480s is awesome man even I was like six years old and loved He-Man went and saw
- 46:48that I'm like this isn't He-Man I liked it I don't know what you guys are
- 46:52talking about was nothing I I was to say when he going I know He-Man the C and I
- 46:57went in this has nothing to do with he it might be a good movie but it's not
- 47:01about He-Man not He-Man I knew I think when I was a kid I was just happy to
- 47:05watch anything yeah um Oppenheimer yeah people have
- 47:11been R about it last week everyone came out and and started talking about the
- 47:15prolonged nudity and I don't know what that is but yeah I'm I can't wait to
- 47:20find out yeah same yeah also prolonged just means it goes for a long time like
- 47:26people are like [ __ ] how graphic is this like well probably not that graphic
- 47:32for a long time yeah zoom in on Killian Murphy's dick do we know what type of
- 47:38nudity yeah I think as as the explosion
- 47:42happens he becomes rigid
- 47:48yeah and it just bursts through his PS and because every time he thinks about
- 47:53it he also he gets erected and because half the movie is from his subjective
- 47:57point of view it's just a comes in and he says when he talking about this bomb
- 48:01and he's like go on excuse me I've just
- 48:07come do we we didn't talk about this and we don't need to go on about it because
- 48:11I don't want to be creepy but I could I saw an article about this Jennifer
- 48:15Lawrence comedy that she just she spends like a whole scene nude in it oh like
- 48:22and she just literally just got a gear off because at this point everybody's
- 48:25seen her naked on the internet what's it I don't know
- 48:30um just typ in Jennifer laen this is the one that's based off
- 48:35um it's called she's no hard feelings so I think an erection
- 48:41pun I think the idea of this movie is there there's an add in newspaper for
- 48:47come and take my son's virginity before he goes to UNI type of thing and she's
- 48:52the one who comes to take it or she's the mom I think that's it
- 48:57on the brink of losing her childhood home A desperate woman agrees to date a
- 49:00wealthy couple's introverted and awkward 19-year-old H and apparently yeah
- 49:05there's just scene where she was just like yeah no ways I'll just did the
- 49:07whole scene naked and W you see everything everything don't want be
- 49:13weird by like yeah I mean you are right
- 49:17she get very publicized during the so-called fappening yeah but uh I just
- 49:24not would that doesn't mean that I mean all actresses are like well [ __ ] it now
- 49:27I guess I'm just nude from now on that's what I'm saying though it just that that
- 49:30doesn't happen so much usually what happens is cu actually the I watched
- 49:34this uh Witch is season 3 first half that's out and uh one thing that that
- 49:39everyone's been noting first of all everyone's complaining about something
- 49:41that happens in it we don't need to talk about it yet I assume you guys haven't seen
- 49:45it I'll just finish season two got watch actual kiss in it that that's apparently
- 49:51outraged all the [ __ ] knobs on the internet I mean is it one of the openly
- 49:54homosexual characters like it's a character who should anyone there two
- 49:59characters who in the books are not which is why they're saying that they're
- 50:05it's it's why it's why people are saying they're upset correct yes it's the
- 50:09reason they're upset but the other thing is that there's no nudity in it which is
- 50:14the other thing that people mention and only because and this
- 50:20is the kind of the with um Amelia Clark
- 50:25of Thrones season one everybody's naked season two they're all
- 50:29big celebrities nobody say can they yeah
- 50:33and me more so many naked extras right
- 50:38season later Seasons no naked main cast so that's why it just surprised me that
- 50:44someone with the the profile of Jennifer Lawrence is just like sure whatever in a
- 50:48comedy yeah like not in a Ser pretty sure there was a paycheck with
- 50:54it it's not it's kind of movie budget movie that's what I'm saying it's just
- 51:00anyway we don't have to go on about it it's just I have something for I'm gonna go a
- 51:04movies this Wednesday should I seeies should I see no hard feelings or
- 51:09should I see Transformers rise of the beasts or Oppenheimer or
- 51:14Barbie's not out yet
- 51:17I'm let's just leave it at that
- 51:25yeah care for sh abff it's called rise of the Beast and that's what he calls
- 51:30his dick yeah sh is not sh's not back though is he sh sh doesn't get hired for
- 51:36anything anymore he couldn't possibly be in his Transformers after no no no no
- 51:41would thought is it still Marky Mark or is he also on theis who's who's in these now no
- 51:47humans a cartoon it I don't know who it is anymore I think they're just going
- 51:54with someone who will make into star bring back wson Wells he when when he
- 51:59left the franchise Elena Wallace wait is this act which is the
- 52:05actor's name and which is the character's name I don't know these any
- 52:08of these people I can't determine which is the actor's name and which is it's a
- 52:11movie for young people we're not the target okay that's the character's name
- 52:14Anthony Ramos Dominique Fishback Luna Lauren VES Dean Scott
- 52:19Vasquez I don't know who these people are I like the Bumblebee
- 52:24movie I didn't see that I actually tried it because it was a bit
- 52:30different to see it so maybe these people are celebrities
- 52:34we just don't know that's what I mean very popular but not
- 52:40demographic oh God that happens look there's only a few more minutes left uh in the main
- 52:47show so we should go back switch back to Indie because I'm desperate to hear what
- 52:54you thought of the ending did you fly into it about
- 52:58spoilers we're GNA do spoilers the rest of the show just turn it off now just
- 53:02turn it off or go to patreon.com multiple nerdgasm if you want more get
- 53:07pay 10 bucks moreo more in we're gonna talk about another movie in the
- 53:13Afterparty because I wantan to movie called about this sound of
- 53:17freedom and if you want to hear about that sounds like an American movie M
- 53:21sounds like a movie yeah well the reason I talk to you is there's a bit
- 53:25controversy on it and I'm curious as to whether this is just an American thing
- 53:28or if the whole world is concerned about this well we don't know about this an
- 53:34American Americans take things very seriously especially things that have
- 53:38the word freedom in the title so let's come back to that put a pin in.com multiple
- 53:44nasm but Indie so they really jumped the shark and went with time travel I can't
- 53:49believe it Luke was right this whole time Luke called it months ago that this
- 53:55would be about time travel I can't was at the same time travel that I was thinking
- 54:01but about how this time works when they explained it I was like oh okay yeah
- 54:08same but I've still got questions so where do we want to
- 54:12start so let's sum up let's sum up what what the movie the movie's about they
- 54:19trying to find this dial that Arians built dial of Destiny
- 54:24which Pres assume is something that finds like time
- 54:31temp space time that can help you travel
- 54:34through time yes yeah and Ms migon wants
- 54:40to go back to 1939 just before the war to assassinate
- 54:45Hitler so that somebody better than Hitler can do the wartime stuff because
- 54:50he knows has taken extensive notes on all the mistakes that were made and he
- 54:55will do it correctly and he actually one of the things he actually does says in
- 54:58the movie like America didn't win the ballit lost it lost and he says it in
- 55:04that great scene that Matt referenced before where he's basically just like
- 55:08chewing out this black delivery guy just for
- 55:12existing yeah Prime Nazi example yeah that's right
- 55:18um and so he wants to do that and then because of either one of two things that
- 55:24happen that's not where they end up
- 55:27going right because when they're on their way to do that Indie I guess
- 55:33either figures out or he knew at some point that Archimedes existed in a time
- 55:38before they had learned about continental drift and so that actually
- 55:43over the thousands of years in between the locations are wrong but that
- 55:47actually meant nothing then that wasn't the reason that wasn't right because
- 55:52made it so that anyone would come back to him
- 55:57he made it what I'm confused why did they have that entire thing about
- 56:01continental drift because in my head like you Matt that was still what was
- 56:05the problem because I was like what a [ __ ] coincidence then that they ended
- 56:08up at this one spot yeah no that was I think that was more so J trying to think
- 56:14of like don't do it don't go back talk out of try and talk him out of it I
- 56:18don't think yeah because convoluted it messed it up it made it way too messy
- 56:23yeah and I know I've talked about this on the podcast before they lost left an
- 56:28opportunity on the table as well I felt because when they find aredes he's
- 56:32wearing a watch and they go that's weird he takes the watch off mads melson's
- 56:37character later on and I was thinking what they should have done what I would
- 56:42have done is had he that had mads Mickelson take the watch from Archimedes
- 56:47pop it on go through the thing Archimedes takes it off him pops it on yeah
- 56:52yeah yeah exactly because I was like that would been cool
- 56:56yeah um I also
- 57:01think I don't know I I was expecting it to be Indy's watch not ma melson's watch
- 57:06too like that also just would have made more of a connection for me
- 57:11if they had the same watch on you know what I mean like it would just it would
- 57:15would be a also rumors that they reshot the ending and I have a sneaking
- 57:20suspicion that originally Indie did stay there and that was how end he was just
- 57:27in time um and then somebody went you know we keep saying we're not going to
- 57:31do another one but let's be honest maybe we will so we don't want him to
- 57:36literally oh I do there something else we have can confirm mut is dead he's
- 57:43dead yeah worried we were gonna bring him back at the end and actually I realized
- 57:49thinking about it today that's not off the table because Indie still has the
- 57:53dial at the end yes but the dial only
- 57:57goes to one place it does it yes well we we don't know
- 58:04that they're making a lot of so here's the thing I think the thing is that see
- 58:09this is the problem it's that it's too convoluted but I think the problem I
- 58:13think the the the gimmick is the dial can point to any Fisher that can take
- 58:18you to any time except Archimedes made that that one always points to him yes
- 58:24but if you if you hacked it somehow you can go change it because yeah he he it
- 58:28was it was it was a device to get people to come and help yes yeah now you
- 58:34mentioned because they have that whole scene where where Phoebe wallbridge is
- 58:37doing the magic trick to force the card so that later she can use that as a way
- 58:43to kind of get the audience to wrap their heads around what the [ __ ] we're
- 58:45talking about yeah where a forced hand and then but then I actually didn't get
- 58:51the impression that that was definite I think I thought she was just like maybe
- 58:56that's how this works I got the feeling it was
- 59:00a this is the problem is find where India says I see what you've done you've
- 59:07you've this was a call for help to bring people back here to help you and he says
- 59:12yes that was given way less weight in the film than the scene about
- 59:18continental drift yes which is why we all left going well hold
- 59:22on yeah remove that it was unnecessary
- 59:28well there's a lot of fluff to be honest in it we could have done without
- 59:32honestly I could have done without all of that stuff about her fiance or
- 59:35whatever it was like oh yeah that didn't need to be there her little short round
- 59:39very cute also just could have written him out of the whole mie I think that
- 59:42her short round was better than the CIA
- 59:46agent they through she
- 59:50was there was that they killed her off and there was there was no point to her
- 59:55but you move heard nothing changes the whole middle of the movie could have
- 59:58been trimmed down by like an hour honestly so you guys want to hear the
- 1:00:03best suggestion ever so I I saw this movie with with list Grant
- 1:00:10right when M melson announced that his
- 1:00:14plan his evil dusted plan was to go back in time you think he's gonna go back and
- 1:00:20help him for most of the movie and then he says oh no no I'm gonna kill yeah yeah yeah
- 1:00:26Grant thought and this is [ __ ] genius Grant thought that that meant Indie
- 1:00:31would have to go back in time to save Hitler's life so that the future will
- 1:00:37continue the way it has that should have been the ending and when he told me that
- 1:00:42we were walking out and he was like you know what I thought was going to happen
- 1:00:45and he said that I was like well that's what should have [ __ ] happened
- 1:00:48imagine that imagine the irony in that I don't think they're going to make a
- 1:00:52movie where Indiana Jones goes back in time to SA unless unless
- 1:00:59refused because they did make that movie and one day we'll get to see it
- 1:01:04Spielberg was in daes and went is he is he saving
- 1:01:09Hitler I should have read this that was sign really should to the
- 1:01:16end that would have been great have a feeling that's not the
- 1:01:22case um that scene where Salah drives Indie to the airport and goes I've
- 1:01:28brought my I've brought my passport because I'd actually like to come on
- 1:01:30this adventure with you and's like no no he's actually come out and said like he
- 1:01:36feels like he was underutilized and he would have yeah I think that was all
- 1:01:39aded I think it was like well Alo Sol comes along right
- 1:01:44yeah cuz that s doesn't make any sense right from a movie passort yeah that was
- 1:01:51John re Davies out of character going if you guys are going to [ __ ] J
- 1:01:57I can come with you but it sort of would have made sense to take him yeah it
- 1:02:01would have yeah I do love that he at first I laugh because he's a cab driver
- 1:02:05in New York now and I was like come on but then he explains he actually says oh
- 1:02:10this is IND who brought us here you know during the war yeah I was
- 1:02:16like New York than a successful person in like
- 1:02:21yeah Middle East yeah yeah yeah I was like that's a bit knows and then and
- 1:02:26then oh no actually that that follows people on the internet going who is he
- 1:02:30still having kids like I'm pretty sure they were his grandkids right yes yeah I
- 1:02:34think he even says does yeah he says his daughter lets him watch something on TV
- 1:02:41I forget what that's right yeah yeah no I loved that I loved all of that I
- 1:02:45thought it was nice even at the end the the the schaly ending where spoilers
- 1:02:49Karen AR comes back in um it made me
- 1:02:52very like sad honestly in a way because
- 1:02:57I was like it was too real yeah yeah because just because it's it's Indiana
- 1:03:02Jones and then this is this is how his story ends yeah because also in Crystal
- 1:03:09Skull which is it's Cannon right he gets fired from his university job where he's
- 1:03:14like a 10e professor and now he's working at just some Community College
- 1:03:19you know like it's it's it's a real downhill slope and like and then Karen
- 1:03:24Allen comes in and I mean you know Karen Allen in the
- 1:03:2880s yeah Karen Allen now it's like it's just not come on what what I mean is
- 1:03:34it's just not he's an 80-year old man he doesn't want it to be no no I I'm GNA
- 1:03:38say I felt like she aged a lot between it's not the same like it just
- 1:03:44doesn't feel as like like handsome man and the Beautiful Woman it's kind of
- 1:03:49like look at these old people living in that apartment
- 1:03:53like anymore no fortune Glory just he just
- 1:03:58lives his neighbors with the baseball bat to turn thep when he puts the magnet over her
- 1:04:05face on the fridge and then in the end when she is there he just casually slips it back
- 1:04:10off so good but also it really when you
- 1:04:15watch Raiders now like she is the love of his life yeah and I mean that because
- 1:04:20like first off he molested her as a child so we know that happened she was
- 1:04:2414 years old yeah then they had that Affair again when they were 20 something
- 1:04:29and and and that that ended and then in the flashbacks sequences he has pictures
- 1:04:34of her so we know that he's kept her on his mind like so we've seen him in these
- 1:04:3920s 30s and 40s and now 50s and 60s you
- 1:04:42know what I mean like she's the one I I wasn't [ __ ] on her I was just no I'm
- 1:04:49not defending I'm just saying like don't look 20 forever Matt end of the Last
- 1:04:54Crusade into theer right yeah like more adventures and that wasend perfect
- 1:05:00ending yeah and more Adventures they right off literally right off into the
- 1:05:03sunset but then now no he that movie is literally called The Last Crusade yeah
- 1:05:09alone and then those kids are gonna find him when they smell him two weeks
- 1:05:14later I just yeah it just made me go okay yeah well um why was watching that
- 1:05:21uh follow-up series to Sex in the City
- 1:05:24which also you forget right
- 1:05:28yeah the moment they're elderly women and it's depressing because like if
- 1:05:34you've I mean I've seen the odd episode of Sex in the City I know it's about
- 1:05:37young women partying in New York City yeah they have cocktails they've
- 1:05:41all got great jobs and good romances and one night stands and stuff these are
- 1:05:45just old women sad old women like it's
- 1:05:49really depressing yeah I don't know why you'd want to watch that but then again
- 1:05:54we just watched IND version of it so yeah and like not to say yeah I don't
- 1:06:00know I don't know how would his story end obviously it's just it's just odd to
- 1:06:05see it you know and it's almost like do we need this we definitely didn't and
- 1:06:11they didn't the studio thought they were gonna make some money and they really
- 1:06:14didn't but at the end of the day I enjoyed it no no I did enjoy it it just
- 1:06:20I'm I'm happy we got it we didn't need it said shab buff was dead without even
- 1:06:25giving him so much as a cameo or flashback was it was like in [ __ ]
- 1:06:32that last James Bond when they're like blow f n he's dead mate he is could have
- 1:06:35been worse the way that he tells it when he gets he gets upset and he's like
- 1:06:40choking up saying it I was like okay all right at least you did it not in true
- 1:06:45but didn't you get a sense of that remember Homer Simpson's dog character
- 1:06:48in inchie and Scratchy in The Simpsons then everyone hated and yeah and he's he
- 1:06:53died and and then it's like the the studio will promise that he will never
- 1:06:57return like that's what it seemed like on his way to his home planet it did
- 1:07:02sound like it was like a throwaway line at the start where it's like like when
- 1:07:06they're trying to sort of frame him for the murders that he's from his wife and
- 1:07:10his son just died and then then they actually went into like well you change
- 1:07:15time was nice and yeah yeah yeah
- 1:07:18yeah okay well so yeah I really enjoyed the scene at the end towards the end
- 1:07:25when they they got to the plane and everybody popped on their Nazi uniforms
- 1:07:29cuz I was like yeah like that hey that's quite funny because but then of course
- 1:07:34they thought they were going 1939
- 1:07:38right you guys all kept those you guys had those this whole time yeah amazing
- 1:07:43you didn't put on any weight I I jacket I had 20 years ago I think they they
- 1:07:50looked fresh like that that was new material they got them freshly made some
- 1:07:53of those people how would they have to wear them so I don't know I mean they were some of
- 1:07:58those people were Americans so presumably it was like disguised to a
- 1:08:02degree but yeah just made me laugh you're right I got a [ __ ] jacket
- 1:08:05tailored for my wedding just before I left a NY jacket really and it doesn't
- 1:08:10fit me now um any Nazis in the sound of Freedom
