It's stupid. We welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition. This is
0:20
no real dust show up Summer seven and three for UMPUT three two one US
0:25
three is your WWE SummerSlam three, viewer predictions and NXT Great American Dash precap
0:31
and review edition of ass bar to you. I am one after the show,
0:37
I am Jeff Back. I always joined by my coach, the one
0:42
I read, doctor Trey Franklin. Doctor Trey, Are you ready for the
0:45
biggest party of the summer, my friend? Oh wait, no, the
0:49
summer. I was thinking the world's largest cocktail party down in Jacksonville, Florida.
0:54
But yeah, I know though, the biggest party of the summer.
0:56
Absolutely are you bringing the drink? Sir? Am I? I am any
1:00
preferences? What are you thinking? Anything that will make me forget the last
1:04
two months of my life? Okay, hey, that's easy. I've got
1:07
tequila with your name on a my friend, There you go, There you
1:11
go, So there you go, biggest party the summer, Doctor Trent.
1:15
I stay tuned for the watch party of Summerslan where Doctor Trent and I just
1:18
get drunk and watch wrestling. That would be fun. That would be fun
1:21
to do that sometime we'd have to pick like like one of the most shittiest
1:23
shows we've ever seen, and like rewatch it, like just intoxicated anything from
1:29
WWE in like nineteen ninety two. Uh, you're being Yeah, ninety two
1:34
wasn't. I would say like ninety five. There was a lot of shit
1:38
on ninety five whenever, whenever all the guys had jobs. Yeah, yeah,
1:42
that was. That was a long period of time. I feel like
1:45
that was like ninety two, early ninety six. Yeah, it was.
1:49
There's a window where everybody had to have a side job. So and then
1:52
I saw on Facebook their day somebody was like, I wish wrestlers had side
1:55
jobs like they did back. I'm like, no, like TL Hopper,
1:59
the good and you know all those guys like yeah that I mean that that
2:02
ran through you know the first you know, a few months of Monday Night
2:07
Raw, a reverse almost year of Monday Night Raw was the bad side jobs
2:10
that every wrestler had to have convinced then pay them any money. Yeah,
2:15
the coon, TL Hopper, um spark plug yet Bob Holly, that's funny.
2:21
We both were going there at the same time smoking guns. Right,
2:23
They were like rodeo guys. Yeah, uh one two three kid? Was
2:28
this a jobber? Um? Irs Duke the Dumpster Drosie one of my favorites
2:35
doin the clown. Yeah, like everybody had a That's That's when I knew
2:38
Deby was in trouble back then, because I was like, maybe all these
2:40
guys have to have side jobs, Like they're not making enough from being on
2:45
TV. They all have to go, like how do you go from being
2:47
on TV to go unclogging somebody's toilets? Hey, Hey, you know what
2:53
didn't I see you on RAW this past week? Now you're taking out my
2:54
garbage? Yeah? Dean Douglas the tu well. Um, Yeah, there
3:01
was plenty of jobs. We could do an entire episode of just jobs from
3:05
WWE's occupation era, which they never never took off, the Osha era of
3:09
w Four guys that don't need side jobs recently just resigned with All Elite Wrestling,
3:17
as announced this past Wednesday, won Kenny Omega, Nick Jackson, Matt
3:23
Jackson, and Hangman Adam Page also known as the Elite. They have resigned
3:28
with a w and we'll be there for several years now. We talked about
3:35
could we see Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks Hangman on a page in WWE.
3:38
There was some grumblings a couple of months ago that there was a perceived
3:43
notion that ww I think had a fair shot at signing Kenny Omega, which
3:47
was insane. I think over the last couple of weeks here and there,
3:52
there have been some stories out there that w didn't feel as confident that they
3:57
could um signed Kenny Omega, Young Bucks Hangman Adam Page as they were,
4:00
which typically means that it appears that they're on the way to stay with all
4:06
Elite Wrestling, and that was a matter of fact just before the two hundredth
4:11
episode, the Elite have resigned with the company Doctor Trey. Before we dig
4:15
into it here, I simply ask you, is this the right move for
4:19
all involved Elite Wrestling and all four members of the Elite. I mean,
4:25
it's great for AW, it's pretty good for all the members of the Elite.
4:30
It's just interesting that now it feels even more like there's a partition between
4:39
these two shows. When you have, you know, the Elite resigning,
4:43
you just brought back CM Punk and then his guys are on one show.
4:46
It it does feel like a you know, maybe not a natural brand split,
4:51
but almost like a brand split out of necessity, but it is there's
4:56
it just makes you know, like Tony cons the also my business, He's
4:59
gonna play sides of defense and whatever deals work best for the company, He's
5:02
going to strike while the iron's high. And uh, I'm sure that Kenny
5:06
Omega and the Bucks used a little bit of that WWE leverage to kind of
5:11
get the deals that they wanted for to resign. So there is I don't
5:15
know if you remembered the story here, but there was some perceived contract tampering
5:19
from ww someone so that MLW I think they have a suit right now filed
5:24
against for block him for their TV deal that was supposed to be on an
5:30
NBC owned product. That escaping me right now. And then it was around
5:35
the same time Tony conn had said that there're been some stuff going on about
5:38
a year ago now close to that he was not happy with. So while
5:43
there is always probably feelers out there in the professional wrestling business, it is
5:47
my understanding that w WE did not make any type of formal offer, that
5:53
the elite did not speak to w E in ndy fashion. As well,
6:00
the interview that they have with Sports Illustrated Today basically just said that the reason
6:04
why they want to stay in AW is because, you know, without them
6:08
in AW just would feel weird. They like the schedule, they want the
6:12
family time all and then money they said was really really good as well.
6:15
I mean you read the interview and it's extremely admirable what they're saying. That
6:19
they want to not be on the road as much as WWE is, and
6:23
they also acknowledge the wrestlers that do have that lifestyle and gave them props for
6:28
it. It's just not something that they want to do and they want to
6:30
be more. They want to be around their family a lot more than the
6:32
ww calendar would let them, so props them in that realm. From an
6:39
AW perspective, they keep four of the five core guys that help make the
6:45
company, the fifth one being on the summerstam card this Saturday against brock Lesner.
6:51
Is this the right move for all involved? I would say absolutely yes.
6:57
As a wrestling fan, I just love the allure of seeing the elite
7:02
in WWE and how that would play out just from like a you know,
7:06
like hmm, I wonder what it would be like if David Ortiz played for
7:12
the Yankees, Right, It's like that realm of man, I wonder what
7:15
it would be like if Jerry Rice played for the Green Bay Packers, Right,
7:19
Doctor Trey. It's that realm of just seeing a little bit of chaos
7:27
and a little bit of these foundation pieces playing for the other team when there's
7:33
a rivalry. And for those that think that there is no rivalry, I
7:39
have not watched it yet, but the big news that came out of the
7:41
Cody Rhodes documentary on Peacock that was released on Monday was that Triple H called
7:46
AW secondary promotion, which is not a smart thing to say at all,
7:49
especially when they have seventy seven thousand tickets sold for all in at Wembley Stadium.
7:54
And I don't consider them a secondary promotion at all. While they may
7:58
be number two behind in the United States, they are not some sort of
8:01
like knockoff promotion. They're doing pretty damn well for themselves, so right move
8:05
for all involved. All in all, while there's that like, oh man,
8:09
it'd be so cool to see those guys into w W and how it
8:11
would play, How would it be as successful as Cody Rhodes has been in
8:15
WW WE coming from AW, this is the right move. I feel like,
8:18
doctor Try, I just can't see AW without all five founding members.
8:26
And I know Hangman isn't typically known as one of the founding members because he
8:28
wasn't an EVP, but I put Hangman page in that grew up just as
8:33
much as as the young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Cody Rhodes myself,
8:37
So I think this is the right move for all involved. Doctor Try.
8:41
Yeah, I mean, you know, I always looked at when Aw's founded,
8:46
it was there was Cody, and there there was the elite. Like
8:50
I always kind of never felt like Cody was part of the crew, like
8:54
he was friends with them, but he wasn't part of the team. So
8:58
when Code went to WWE, it made sense he did it was best for
9:03
him and his family. Where with Kenny, the Bucks, Hangman, like
9:07
those guys are a click, Like that's a crew. Those guys typically don't
9:13
do something without the other ones. And you can look at their history like
9:16
whether it was you know, coming to a Ring of Honor when they were
9:18
in New Japan, like all those guys did the same thing at the same
9:22
time, and it does make a lot of sense for them to kind of
9:26
work in tandem. Plus, you know, if you've got three other friends
9:31
in the company that are pretty high up and getting paid really well, you
9:35
know, you also have support and also some kind of protection as well,
9:41
so you don't have to worry so much about the politicking and everything else if
9:46
anybody comes at you. And we kind of saw that who had the brawl
9:50
out that those four are going to stick together against anybody that comes at them.
9:54
So you always have that little circle, that little inner circle of protection,
10:01
you know, while you're under contract with them. A little bit more
10:03
on this story from Wrestling anc and also Fightful Selects. They say in terms
10:07
of the length of the new deals, Fightful select reports that one of the
10:09
new contracts is said to run for a quote at least four years. It's
10:13
unknown if that is the case for all the new agreements, however, and
10:16
it was also unclear if the deals matched up, potentially creating a situation where
10:20
the elites collective contracts wouldn't be up at the same time. Aw and the
10:24
Elite were said to have reached these new deals over the past few weeks.
10:26
In regards to wwweed, appears that while the promotion was interested on Megapage and
10:30
the Bucks series talks between the two sides never end up occurring. As for
10:35
the ongoing issues between the Elite and Cmpunk, the Ladder's returned to AW this
10:37
past spring did cause a slowdown regarding negotiations between AW and the Elite. There
10:43
would ultimately proved to not be a significant factor regarding potential Elite Punk feud.
10:48
There is no word if there's been proposed or how open either side would be
10:52
to it. However, it is said that there has been some movement towards
10:54
a potential match between the Bucks and FDR, which could lead to the two
10:56
teams face and off in the ring for the first time since April twenty twenty
11:01
two. That rumor taking place right now for all In in Wembley Stadium.
11:05
It's possible that they've announced that match. We're recording this before Dynamite on Wednesday
11:07
night, so unknown about the amount the years Doctor Trey two sides never gotten
11:13
serious between WWW and the Elite. While there may have been some feathers ruffled
11:20
when CM Punk came back, it did not prove anything that made them decide
11:26
out to go elsewhere, which was something that we speculated on earlier this year,
11:30
So it seems like all is good in All Elite Wrestling and the timing
11:33
it's perfect with this heading into their biggest attended show of all time in just
11:37
a couple of weeks. Yeah, it's it's great for the company you get,
11:43
you know, you don't have to worry about your name people. I
11:46
mean, it would be kind of just the ultimate kick in the bass if
11:52
everybody in the Elite jumped to WWE, because then how do you have a
11:56
copy called All Elite Wrestling if the Elite is on Like that would be kind
12:01
of weird. Like Kenny and the Bucks set in that interview, you know,
12:05
there was no direct contact between WW and those four guys, but you
12:11
know, legally they can't because that is contract tampering. But I'm sure there
12:16
were feelers set out. All those guys have some form of representation that they
12:20
can have touch base and be like, hey, if we're interested, what
12:24
will be looking at those things happen They happen in the NFL, baseball,
12:30
wrestling, basketball, all those things. So I'm sure there was some kind
12:33
of contact there As far as Punk and the Bucks and ftrgo if they don't
12:41
do this at Wimbley Jeff, do do we lose any of the the smoke
12:46
behind the fire that was a brawl out? Like is like, how long
12:50
do you wait before you start pulling the trigger and keep I mean, like,
12:54
how long it's too long before you pull the trigger on this? Well?
12:58
I mean FTR wasn't involved with brawl out. I mean they are closely
13:01
tied to cempunk, right, you know, I would imagine that being that
13:09
there is a lot of chatter about those two battling it out, those two
13:13
teams battling out at all in in a couple of weeks, I would I
13:16
would imagine that that match has been nearly made official on the car that that's
13:22
happening. There's obviously a lot of friction there, professional and potentially personal.
13:30
If anybody listening to Dax's Hardwood show, it sounded like it was more professional
13:33
than personal. They may not be the best of friends, but that's what
13:37
makes money. And I think if an FTR and the young Bucks are willing
13:43
to work together, that a CM punk and the elite you would hope would
13:48
be able to work together. I do think, and I said this before
13:52
that I felt like there was a three month window where AW needed to capitalize
13:56
on the elite and see him Punk being back on the fold if they wanted
14:00
to make some money off of the real life brawl out. I don't think
14:03
it still has the same impact as it would if it's say six, two
14:07
twelve months from now, if they never battle it out then, I mean,
14:11
the farther we get away from Cempuck's return and brawl out and all that
14:16
stuff, it's just like, uh, I don't know. I don't know
14:18
if it still has the same punch as it would before. So I don't
14:24
know. It definitely seems like I could open the door to it. I
14:28
liked the idea of the Bucks an FTR battle in and out, and I
14:31
think that would be the right move for all in. And just to the
14:33
point that you had made before about w overtures to you know, the elite
14:37
and all that stuff, yeah, you would have to imagine that. Nick
14:43
and Matt Jackson, who Cody Rhodes recently said an interview he's closer with them
14:48
now than he was at any point in his life, have asked him like
14:52
what is it like working for WA Like they have to have had those conversations
14:56
like how's it going, what's it like working there. You like it,
15:01
um, I would imagine that. I mean they nearly signed with WWE Doctor
15:05
Trey, Kenny Omega and the Bucks nearly signed with WA. There's a story
15:09
in the Young Bucks book that I think it was Matt Jackson got off the
15:13
phone with Triple H. He was on vacation with his wife, and the
15:18
first thing he said to his wife was, I can't believe I'm saying this,
15:20
but we're going to do I think we're going to WA. So,
15:22
I mean there is some sort of business relationship there, but all in all,
15:28
Elite resigning FTR Bucks for all in I'm all for it. I think
15:33
it's the right moves and it's the right move for professional wrestling. I feel
15:35
like ultimately Doctor Trey. Yeah, it does feel weird though, like you're
15:39
gonna have if you do have the Bucks in FTR at you know, all
15:45
in in Amble Stadium and the tag belts aren't on the line. Like to
15:50
me, the only thing they're there if fastors are going. We could have
15:54
been building this up for a few weeks, you know, Like that's that's
15:58
my only complaint about what's been doing for the most part lately, is you
16:02
know, some of these we talked about with Cmpunk's booking a couple of weeks
16:04
ago, Like, you're not really building up anything. And I know the
16:11
Elite just came off the feud with Blackpool Combat Club, but you could have
16:15
jumped right into it and started setting the stage for it now with only me
16:18
in a couple of weeks out, you're only getting a couple of weeks build
16:22
up. You do kind of lose a little bit of the intensity, unless
16:26
unless those guys can just crank it up to like a crazy level at a
16:30
short amount of time, which they're probably capable of. Just for as a
16:34
wrestling fan, when I'm looking forward to an anticipated match, I like having
16:38
a few, like a month and a half build up to that big match.
16:44
I'm with you, but I think in regards to those groups though,
16:47
I mean, it's I think it's there, don't you think? Yeah?
16:49
I mean to agree, But like you said, with like FTR and the
16:52
Bucks, it's not a personal thing. It's a professional thing. You know,
16:56
the promos. Maybe it's more the work. Shoot line that I'm looking
17:03
forward to with this when it kicks off, is where's that line at?
17:07
You know? How far can you go in that promo before you Hangman page
17:11
it where punks Matt like, how far can you go in alluding to all
17:15
that stuff? Like That's what I think I'm looking forward to the most,
17:19
and with getting a condensed version of it. If it goes that way,
17:23
I would kind of drag it out and make it seem more special than just
17:30
oh yeah, just announced to night the Bucks and FTR. We're announced an
17:33
on Dynamite on Wednesday and all outs two weeks away. I think there's a
17:38
lot of people that want to see that, Like, I think people would
17:41
be upset if it wasn't on the al in card. No. I agree
17:45
that people want to see the match, but I also would want the extra
17:48
build up in the anticipation to get. If you're talking about Bucks and FTR
17:53
specifically, I mean they've had two previous matches. I mean this would be
17:56
the rubber match, right, yeah, but if you're gonna build into a
18:00
six man at some point, which is I think is what everybody wants to
18:03
see. But this could be the this could be the appetizer to that.
18:07
Because I do think that we all know the background of Bucks and FTR,
18:11
Like, I don't know if there's anything else you need to build off that.
18:15
If you're looking more towards the trios of CMFTR and the elite, I'm
18:21
with you, but I mean this could serve as the appetizer. Yeah,
18:23
that's true, especially if one of the other you know singles guys, whether
18:27
it's Omega or Punk get involved, then that can build up to you.
18:30
But yeah, like just for me, I like longer build ups to big
18:34
matches. But you know, you're right, this could be the kickoff to
18:37
lead into that rivalry, much like the elite in BCC head where it lasted
18:44
three months that started with Hangman Page and John Moxley in October. Yeah,
18:48
yeah, exactly. Okay, switching, what was that that you won me
18:52
over? That's what I'm here for is to is to suade you, all
18:59
right, next thing here switched years At WWE, there was a story out
19:02
on Wednesday that Vince McMahon was served with a search warrant and federal grand jury
19:07
subpoena. Came out during the quarter earnings call with shareholders, which is a
19:12
perfect time to tell them, like, hey, Vince was served with a
19:15
search warrant and federal grand jury subpoena. So that was a big story.
19:18
On Wednesday, during the w quarterly earnings report, Vince Icman was served with
19:23
the search warrant Grand Federal Journey EPI July seventeenth, I think July twenty.
19:29
First he went out for medical lead because he just reportedly underwent major spinal surgery
19:33
two weeks ago. At the time, Tony Kahn declined to comment, but
19:38
WWE did confirm that this has taken place during the quarterly meaning some more about
19:47
this via Wrestling Ink. While the specific details of the warrant, subpoeni and
19:49
remain a mystery, it's known that McMahon has been under investigation for allegedly paying
19:52
off a number of women an attempt to keep them quiet regarding sexual misconduct.
20:00
So there's a little bit of thought. I thought there was an updated story.
20:03
I made a pold the wrong story here, So give me one second.
20:07
All right, here it is. Here's the update. So WWE revealed
20:11
in the Relatest Learnings Report, which I said in an update to those initial
20:15
story about devit, McMahon provided statements pertaining to the subpoena. McMahon stated quote
20:19
in two thousand and two twenty two, WWE formed a special committee to review
20:23
allegations and misconduct against me. That review was concluded November twenty twenty two,
20:29
following an extensive investigation throughout this experience. I've always did I any intentional wrongdoing.
20:33
It continue to do so. I'm confident that the government's investigation we resolved
20:37
without any findings of wrongdoing. I'm focused on completing the recovery process for my
20:41
recent spinal surgery, and I'm closing our transaction with Endeavor, which will create
20:45
one of the premium goals global sports and entertainment brands. W responded, we
20:49
believe this is a continuation of the investigation that commenced last summer. W's cooperated
20:53
throughout fully understands respects the government's need for a complete process. So no charges
20:57
have been following against Van as of this recording. Details of the war and
21:02
subpoena are currently unknown, although it has been publicized here in the savents from
21:07
McMahon and WWW that it appears into something from the misconduct investigation that took place
21:11
last year. So I guess until more comes out about that about this,
21:15
we won't know specifics. But nonetheless, doctor Troite not a good look here
21:19
that Vince is getting served with a search warrant, federal grand jury subpoena.
21:25
I mean, this is not ideal for WWW right now. Well then to
21:29
have it come out during the quarterly call is like the worst timing ever.
21:33
But yeah, it's not a good look, but it's it's we're not surprised.
21:37
I don't know if anybody was surprised in the sense of what the subpoena
21:42
and everything else is coming from, because this is literally something that one of
21:47
his friends, Donald Trump, is going through, Like that was the first
21:48
indictment he had was because of hush money paid to a woman, and now
21:52
Vince is being investigated for the same thing. So it's really not shocking and
21:57
surprising because that was kind of what the internal investigation was about, was did
22:03
Vince pay these people directly or did it come from a WWE corporate fund because
22:11
that parts illegal, but paying it yourself is not. But you know,
22:15
it's it is what it is almost like, are we really surprised with anybody
22:21
over the age of seventy gets hit with one of these cases right now,
22:23
because that seemed to be you know, Bill Cosby, Trump Vince, Like,
22:27
I'm just I'm not really surprised. I'm more surprised than al Paccino's having
22:32
kids in his eighties than I am about Vince and Trump and Bill Cosby getting
22:37
hit with stuff from stuff they did back in the eighties when it was kind
22:41
of accepted. Yeah, it's I think the stuff with Vince though is is
22:48
recent though, like within the last fifteen to twenty years. Well, the
22:52
one girl was a referee back in the eighties though, that was that was
22:55
late eighties and that was settled. But I guess when all this stuff.
22:59
This is my understanding. So I'm no legal analyst here, so if I'm
23:03
incorrect on any of this, uh, please let me know via Twitter,
23:07
slash x or Facebook at our various different channels. That I believe that was
23:14
Rita and I'm her last name was forgetting is escaping me at the moment.
23:18
But she was a ring announcer and that was settled. And then when all
23:21
this stuff started coming back up, she went into another negotiation and got another
23:27
settlement. Is my understanding from Fitzichmann um detailing like alleged stuff between them.
23:36
So and the one was the secretary that got the promotion correct that, yes,
23:42
I believe that was one. And then there was discussion about a female
23:47
talent as well, like the in the two thousands era decades, some of
23:52
the stuff is not like the yo, it's not except except of the early
23:57
two thousands, even then early two thousands with kind of in that weird gray
24:02
area of what was acceptable and what's not acceptable today's standards. Um. But
24:07
like it's to me, it's not surprising when this stuff comes out because these
24:11
guys are from a different generation. I mean, you can go back to
24:15
the Trump interview or he's like you grab him by the blank, Like that's
24:19
kind of the mindset that these old rich men have is that I'm rich,
24:25
I have this money. Yeah yeah so um. And then you know guys
24:30
in our generation who grew up kind of watching that but then trying to adjust
24:36
to the new world. We live in this weird area where we don't know
24:38
what we're supposed to do. Well. I don't think you can say some
24:42
of the things that Trump said. Certainly no no, no, yeah,
24:45
like that's not allowed. But then you get the flip side when you get
24:51
a woman that goes, oh, I wish men were still men. You
24:53
know, it's like, Okay, do you want to be sensitive? You
24:56
wants to be a man, do you want it't like, which side do
24:57
you want? Like? We can't be everything, Just tell me what you
25:00
want me to do it, but I'll do Trying to figure out what society
25:03
wants nowadays is definitely a conundrum, I would say. All in all,
25:10
this entire thing with the subpoena and federal grand jury, this obviously has a
25:15
lot to do with shareholders that did not want him back. The company corporation
25:21
needed to do an investigation. And we're just going off on what the statement
25:25
said today that it appears that that's what it's being pointed to. I would
25:29
say still from a business wrestling fandom perspective, this is just it's not a
25:34
good look today for w W and Vinsickman. And we'll see if it leads
25:41
to anything, doctor Try. I mean, in most instances, even the
25:45
stuff that we just talked about a year ago, when we were talking about
25:47
Vince no longer being with Wan retiring, that would end a person, that
25:51
would end a person's career. Vinsickman being vins Wickman right, wrong or different,
25:56
whether you support or a pose, and being back with the company said
26:00
f this and forced his way back in the company, and it was like
26:03
one of the most boldest insane things I've ever seen in corporation existence in my
26:11
entire time. I mean, most CEOs, like presidents, they don't do
26:17
that. And he did that because he had the where he had the stock
26:19
power to do it. And I don't know, I don't think he should
26:25
be back with the company. I gotta say, I think from a creative
26:27
standpoint, from a business standpoint, from a scandal standpoint, I don't think
26:33
Vince Icman should be back with the company. So and that's kind of where
26:37
I stand on this entire thing. Yeah, I'm with you, Like I
26:41
don't think Vince you should be back. I think Vince should have left when
26:44
he left and kind of staying gone. I do understand the want to have
26:52
Vince be part of the company from the new merged Global Sports Entertainment brand.
26:59
You know, I unders wanting Vince on the because Vince is the data white
27:02
you know, that's the comparison. But at the same time, like you
27:07
said, it's it's scandalous, it's it's somebody that's kind of a magnet for
27:12
these type of things, and it doesn't do the company any good when these
27:15
things keep popping up. I mean, and you're right, like this would
27:19
have knocked out a normal person from ever working for that company again. I
27:25
mean, you look at some of those guys that were called out during the
27:29
the Me Too movement, like the Michael Elgin's, the Joey Ryan's, that
27:32
Dave Chris, Like, none of those guys have been back in wrestling jack
27:37
All. They're not back. Yeah, but you know Vince can just go,
27:41
yeah, I got enough money, I got enough poll like, I'll
27:44
sell the company and that way I'll get myself back in Like that, Vince
27:47
has that fu money to kind of do whatever he wants. And he's almost
27:52
the old one. You're from the northeast Teflon, don you know, that's
27:56
kind of how Vince is now. Yep, that is very very true.
28:00
So we'll see if this leads to anything further. Once again, Vince Zikmann
28:03
back in the news, did receive spinal surgery recently, so I guess he'll
28:07
be out for some time. Also getting served with the search warrant and federal
28:11
Grand Journey subpoena, which w E and he appears to be acknowledging has to
28:15
do with the investigation from last year that internally took place in world wrestling entertainment.
28:22
Speaking of Teflon Dons, let's get into NXT Great American Bash recap review.
28:27
I don't know how sometimes we can transition from some of the things that
28:30
we talk about, but figured maybe a Tony d reference can get us at
28:33
NXC Great American Bash. It took place this past Sunday from the HEB Center
28:37
in Cedar Park, Texas. Let's start with the pre show match. In
28:41
an eight person mixed tag team match, Dragon Lee, Nathan Fraser, Louisa
28:45
Leon and Valentino Froys defeated the Metaphor of Noam dar Or Mensa, Jacara Jaccent
28:49
and Lash Legend. We both had the Metaphor again the victory, so we
28:52
got a l on that one firm performance by all eight wrestlers to start the
28:56
show. Surprise, they want to build up the Metaphor to get the pl
29:00
win, but Fraser and dragon Ly are a lot of fun to watch,
29:03
as we saw on Tuesday edition of NXT. They made up for that as
29:07
Noam Darr and Ora Mensa did defeat Carmelo, Hayes and Wesley in a tag
29:11
team match. Doctor Trey. Any thoughts on the pre show startup. Yeah,
29:15
Like once the result was done, I wasn't as surprised I thought,
29:18
especially where you saw what happened Dragon Le on Tuesday. It makes sense for
29:23
them to get to win at the pl to kind of build them back up,
29:26
you know, dragon Ly don't. I don't want to say it's been
29:30
a disappointing run, but maybe not the level we thought it would be coming
29:36
in NXC, So them getting the win at the pl E kind of helps
29:38
those guys move up. Also, Nathan Frasier, former Rocket City Championship Wrestling
29:44
performer at one time, Dragon Lee does have a big match on Tuesday's nx
29:48
T from the North American Championship and one Lucador legend will be in his corner.
29:52
So maybe this is the start of the Dragon Lee ramp up that Doctor
29:57
Trey is so eloquent waiting for. Because I'm out right there with you,
30:02
I want to see Dragon Lee start climbing the ladder. In NXT to the
30:06
main car, The Family of Tony D'Angelo and Channing Stacks Lorenzo defeat Gallas,
30:10
Mark Coffee and Wolfgang to win the NXE Tag Team Championship. Both Doctors Tray
30:12
and I had the family getting the victory, good match, it was time
30:17
to put the titles on the family fall on the free Tony D storyline.
30:19
Tony D has won me over. I'm not really in love with the gimmick.
30:23
Channing stacks. Lorenzo has been one of the great bright spots in NXT,
30:29
an underrated bright spot because he has really become a good, good performer
30:33
over the last year plus being in NXC, and watch him on TV.
30:37
This was the right call. Doctor Try was happy for Tony D and Channing
30:41
Sax Lorenzo. So I give a question, and this is only because you're
30:45
much more of the NXD watcher than I am right now. So did Tony
30:48
D get promoted while he was in prison? Because prior to prison, he
30:53
looked like he was part of the mob, and then now he looks like
30:57
he runs the mob. So that's why I kind of a little bit confused.
31:00
I like the new look, though it looks more like a down kind
31:06
of look than what he had on when he first came into NXT. But
31:10
it was absolutely the right move. This story built up, it was compelling,
31:14
it was there's a couple of little twists in there as well. Another
31:18
twist on you know this past Tuesday's NXT. So I liked the move and
31:22
the match was pretty solid of fun and stacks. Man, I like that
31:27
kid. That kid's wrestled all around Tennessee and stuff before he got his break.
31:32
So good, good young man, and good to see them get some
31:34
success. Yeah, to answer your question, I think they probably just have
31:37
kind of figured out the gimmick a little bit more. I think he's been
31:41
the don and this was they did the ode to the jumpsuit here, and
31:45
I think he's just kind of coming into his own finally in the gimmick.
31:48
The gimmick was very corny for a long time, and I feel like in
31:52
the last six months or so they've they've kind of felt their stride and it's
31:56
been actually a really nice move for them to turn into baby faces because I
32:00
think they're very much over with the crowd and it aligns better with that gimmick
32:02
in my opinion. Next matches Roxanne Perez defeating Blair Davenport and a Weapons wild
32:08
match. We both had Rock sand Pres gain the victory. Hard hitting match.
32:10
I'm a fan of both women. I hope you see both them in
32:13
the NXC Women's title pictures sooner rather than later. The only drawback here was
32:16
Roxand Press is like twelve year old sister who was hiding a laugh when she
32:22
was supposed to be scared. Clearly, Blair, Davenport and her probably have
32:27
a very joking relationship behind the scenes because she was hiding a laugh the entire
32:31
time, which is difficult when your family members doing that. But Roxane,
32:35
it's a victory, Doctor Trey. Yeah, Like I enjoyed this match.
32:38
It was. It was a little bit more fun than I thought would be.
32:40
I don't know about even Roxane is so small that every time she got
32:44
hit, I kind of cringed a little bit because I'm like that one might
32:46
take that little girl out. Because as much as we talked about, like
32:50
you know, he's talk about Roxand's twelve girls, sister, Roxand looks twelve,
32:52
so I thought they were like twins almost or something, but not just
32:55
a really fun match. Both girls came out looking pretty strong, so it'll
33:00
interesting to see where they go with those two next, Like who does Blair
33:02
move on to because not a lot of baby face women in NXT right now.
33:08
A lot of heels, but not a lot of baby faces. Next
33:12
match, there's Gable Steveson and Baron Corbyn ending in a double disqualification, no
33:15
contest. However you want to look at it. We had Gabe steven get
33:17
Stevenson getting the victory or Stevenson getting the victory, which was incorrect. Not
33:22
a great match, headscratching decision for this match and in a double disqualification.
33:27
The post match brawl was good. It was surprised to see the majority of
33:30
fans in attendance boo Gabel Steveson in a line with Baron Corbin. Steveson did
33:35
not look ready for the spot yet. Olympic gold medalist in Wa nearly twenty
33:43
three years, twenty four years since Kurt Angle made his debut. I mean
33:46
he's going to be in Kurt Angle's shadow because that's who we will be compared
33:50
to. And Gabel Steveson from a Olympic wrestling standpoint, was a much bigger
33:55
name than Kurt Angle was because of the more eyes on the Olympic product.
34:01
In twenty twenty twenty one, when everyone the Metal in Tokyo, but surprising,
34:09
I thought it was going to be a better showing from him. I
34:13
thought the crowd was going to be behind him. And that was not the
34:15
case. Baron Corbyn has been a well known heel that has typically booed and
34:19
he was cheered. Head scratching moment all around, Doctor Trey. I did
34:23
not enjoy this one. Not a good debut for Gabel Steveson. I thought
34:25
they did him dirty here. Yeah. I did understand putting him in the
34:30
ring with Corbyn first because when you look at like, Okay, if Corbyn
34:34
loses, what does that do for Corbet? You know, it's great for
34:37
Gable? But was it due for Corbett? And if Corbyn wins, was
34:38
it due for Gable? It also ties him to the Kurt Angle stuff from
34:43
retiring them. Yeah, and it is weird because as I'm watching this match,
34:46
I got Kurt Angle vibes because if you go back and listen to Kurt
34:51
when he was coming in, he wanted to be a baby facing Vince was
34:53
like, no, you're gonna be a heel. They're gonna hate you.
34:55
He's like, no, no, no, I'm a gold medalist, I'm
34:57
all American. They're gonna love me. And the crowd him I kind of
35:00
felt that vibe, like, no, the crowd already kind of feels like
35:05
this guy is almost entitled in the debut, so I think, and plus,
35:09
I think Corbin's so hated that he's almost respected in his hatred in people's
35:15
hatred form. So it kind of felt like, like I was saying last
35:17
week, you almost feel bad for Baron Corbin. So I kind of feel
35:22
like the crowd has went that guy looks entitled. Baron, you know,
35:25
has been here for a while. We respect him. We want to see
35:29
Baron do well, and that's I felt like the crowd. But you're right,
35:32
like the match was not good. The brawl was okay, but you
35:37
know, from a guy that should have fantastic footwork for being an Olympic wrestler,
35:42
he and Corbyn's an underrated worker, that match should have been better than
35:47
what it was. My guess is that w W has been waiting to utilize
35:52
Gable Steveson for several years. He performed at Wrestleminly thirty seven in Dallas.
35:58
He was in a moment I think with Alpha Academy Suplexable Chad Gable, and
36:02
then we've seen a periodic the show up from time to time on Rown SmackDown.
36:06
At one time he was actually drafted to Raw, so there were a
36:09
lot of rumors that he was potentially going to go back to the Olympics,
36:13
or potentially go back to college or both, or something like he was deciding
36:16
his future. And I think we may have been getting a little nervous.
36:19
This is just my speculation, my fan speculation on this. I know nothing
36:22
else about this. So maybe he was like, well, you guys aren't
36:25
really using me. You know, what's what's going on here? I don't
36:29
know if I want to stick around and may go do the Olympics, I
36:30
may go back to college to try to win a third college championship in wrestling
36:36
amateur wrestling. And it appears like, okay, well let's let's use him,
36:40
because Sean Michael sets up in a in the conference call lead into it
36:45
like he was doing nothing. He decided to use him. That was Sean's
36:47
words, but it just felt like from a mic standpoint, it's he's obviously
36:53
lagging. His character is lagging still, and his in ring work. We
36:58
all know that he has the athletics him to put it together, but that
37:00
match just was not ready for primetime television. So I thought they did him
37:06
a little bit dirty. I thought Kurt Angle when he came out in ninety
37:07
nine was ready to go. From a character and an end ring standpoint,
37:12
he picked it up very very fast. Maybe Gabel Steveson in a year's time
37:15
will pick it up. I think the sailing for him is one of the
37:19
highest of anybody on the NXC roster obviously, but again this debut, they
37:23
just did him dirty Doctor Trey, so head scratching all around, from the
37:28
decision to put him in the match to the decision of the result of the
37:31
match made no sense at all. Next match here is Dirty Domasterio defeating Wesley
37:37
and Mustafa Ali. You know, triple threat match to retain the NEXCY North
37:39
American Champion. Should be both a Dirty doma Masterio again. The victory he
37:44
will be taken on Dragon Lee on Tuesday's NXT as Ray Masterio will be in
37:46
the corner of Dragon Lee fun trouble threat match. Rea Ripley's interference and influence
37:52
in this match was heavy, like the most I've ever seen from someone not
37:55
in the match at some time, and I liked it as an ad to
38:00
their genuine heat. This was fun round match all around, Doctor Try.
38:02
I enjoyed Ria's interference. It made total sense to me. Your thoughts a
38:07
dirty, John retains, Yeah, when you look at it, like,
38:08
I love to finish because it's very dirty. Sammy apparently didn't like it as
38:14
he comes into the room to join the podcast. Okay, can you a
38:19
man, a dude, But like, when you look at Ria's involvement,
38:22
Riah is bigger than Wesley and Mustafa Ali, so it makes sense for her
38:25
to get physically involved because hell, I think we all think that she could
38:29
beat those guys up in a real fight. So um, but yeah,
38:32
it got mega heat. Now I am and I don't know if we're can
38:36
touch on it, but I am a little bit confused about the Westley attitude
38:38
change. I get I get the character frustration, but I don't know if
38:45
I would buy west Lee as a full fledged heel going. He's just so
38:51
small. I think you need to keep him as the underdog. But if
38:53
that's direction they go, Hey, west has been fantastic since he got dannixe
38:58
Moustaf has been great since he got Dannix. So it was a really really
39:00
fun triple threat match. I don't know if Wes is going hell yet.
39:05
I think he's just set and frustrated. Yeah, if it leads to a
39:12
Carmelo Hayes feud. I'm I'm here for it, man. Well, I
39:15
mean they had some great matches. I mean that that Ladder match for the
39:19
North American time that has some great moments in there. Like, I'm for
39:22
it. But you know, with the Trick Williams kind of separation thing on
39:28
NXT, maybe they're just trying to give West an edge to him and make
39:32
it seem like, you know, he's not just the little guy, like
39:36
he can be tougher than perceived. But like Raymistereo never needed an edgy side
39:43
really throughout his career. I just don't think that West needs it. I
39:46
think just size in his you know, energy level would keep him as a
39:51
solid baby face. To me, it almost feels like a little bit like
39:53
the Johnny Gargano move and where we didn't like it at first, but then
39:57
a hell it paid off. So maybe that's the route they're going with it.
40:00
That's it to the next match here, Tiffany Strtton defeats THEA Hale in
40:02
a submission match to retain the NC Women's Championship. We both had Tiffany Stratton
40:07
gain the victory. Not a good match at all. Multiple blown spots confusion
40:12
if rope breaks are allowed in the match. From a commentary and entering performer
40:15
standpoint, no build up to Andre Chase throwing in the towel that should have
40:19
made the spot more compelling. I've said this before, Tiffany Stratton is a
40:22
great character. Tiffany Stratton the ring performer needs to improve. This is reminding
40:29
me a lot of my feelings towards Jade Card Gill and aw. You can
40:32
see the star potential with Tiffany Stratton, but the inn ring stuff is not
40:37
there yet. This was not a good match, Doctor Trey, your thoughts
40:39
of Tiffany Stratton retains, Yeah, and thea is still kind of raw and
40:45
green as well. It's one of those things in wrestling we talk about a
40:47
lot when we're putting, you know, shows together, matches together, is
40:52
you want to have at least one person in that match that you feel I
40:54
can lead the match. In neither of those ladies, I feel like as
40:59
ready to actually, you know, be the quarterback of a match on a
41:04
ple So yeah, it's it's a little bit of Jake Cargio factor, Like
41:08
Tiffany Stretton just needs to stay down in NXT for a while, Like,
41:14
I hope they don't Apollo Cruiser and bring her up too soon or anything like
41:16
that, because she is a fantastic character. She's a beautiful woman, and
41:22
we know guys like Vince and Bruce like to have them up on the main
41:27
roster because they can showcase them. But I just I'm hoping Sean and Triple
41:31
H go no, no, no, she needs more seasoning, she needs
41:34
to get better. She reminds me a little bit of what Summer Ray was
41:39
when Summer was an NXT where great character, a beautiful woman just wasn't great
41:45
in the ring. Summer eventually got better, and I'm sure Tiffany will as
41:50
well. It's just now's not the time to really let her run a match
41:55
of that caliber on that stage. Yeah, Tiffany's trying a super athletic like
42:00
and no disrespect to thea Haile and Tiffany Strand. I think that their upside
42:02
is massive for both characters, both wrestlers. I think they're gonna be great.
42:07
This was just not a good match at all. Like again, it
42:10
just felt like they're not ready for prime time. That was the feeling I
42:14
got from Gable Steveson. It just It's like you're trying to put, you
42:20
know, a circle into a square peg hole, right. It just doesn't
42:25
feel right right now, Like we know that they have the ability to get
42:30
there, but it's it's just gonna take some time. It's just all around
42:34
was not good, especially when you look at the main event. It was
42:36
like I was watching two different shows at this point because the next match here
42:39
is Carmelo Hayes defeating nearly draggon Off to retaining the NXC championship. We both
42:44
have Carmelo Hayes getting the victory. Great match that really saved the show in
42:47
my opinion. It was hard hitting and the final ten minutes was really well
42:51
done. Hayes and dragging Off put on a show. These are two guys
42:54
that are season performers. They look like that they would fit onto Raw or
43:00
SmackDown tomorrow. They they saved the show at this point. Doctor Tray,
43:05
I mean he had the gable Steveson Baron Corba match I did not like.
43:08
The triple threat kind of brought the show back into it. And then Tiffany
43:13
Stratton Fiahale left a really bad taste of my mouth, and then Carmela Hayes
43:16
and nearly dragging off save the show again. I really enjoyed this match your
43:20
thoughts. Yeah, Sammy did too. Sammy and I sat there and watched
43:23
it. Sammy loves Elia dragging off. I'm a bit see I'm a big
43:28
aliena dragging off fan myself. It was a damn good match. I really
43:34
really enjoyed it. Although we both kicked Carmelo. There are points that match
43:38
where I'm like, could they pull the trigger and put the belts on Elia
43:43
and you know, move Carmelo up? But like it was, you're right
43:46
for me. It kind of saved the show because of that match. I
43:51
had been a clunker. This might be my lowest rated nxt P l E
43:54
ever and it still might be. I don't know. We haven't got to
43:58
it yet, but uh, it still might be by lows. But it
44:00
would have been really bad if this match was average or worse. Oh yeah,
44:04
if this was not good, it would it was. I think it
44:06
would be the worst show of the year, and it may be when you
44:08
look at it all in all, so maybe spoiler alert ear all right.
44:13
Peperview prediction record Doctor Trent I both went five and two, come out of
44:16
the show and win sixty six and twenty three Doctor Trey sixty one and twenty
44:19
eight Match of the night and event rating. My match of the night was
44:22
Carmelo, Hayes and Eily dragging off. My event rating, I gave it
44:25
a three point one. If Carmelo, Hayes and Eliot did not put on
44:29
a show, you would be looking at something in the twos. I this
44:31
show was not great, a lot of skippable moments, but there are some
44:37
matches on this car that you should check out. The Family Versus Gallus,
44:40
Roxanne Blair Davenport was good, Dirty Dom west Lee musaf Ali was good,
44:45
and obviously Carmelo, Hayes and Eily dragging off. But Gable Steveson and Baron
44:49
Corbyn and Tiffany Stratton and Theiahle were so bad that to me this dragged it
44:52
down to a three point one, so I gave a three point one Doctor
44:54
Trey. Okay, so I was slightly ahead of you because I had it
44:59
at a three point two, So it was slightly ahead of you. But
45:01
my match of the night was samey Jorge, Carmelo, Hayes and Elie dragging
45:06
off. If that match and the Triple Threat match weren't as good as they
45:10
were. Uh, it would have been like a two point three Like it
45:15
would have been like a bad indie show for me. Yeah, no,
45:17
it was. It was not good. It was it was running into some
45:20
trouble there coming out of Tiffany Stratton and the Hill match. Honestly, I
45:23
hate to crap all over wrestlers like this, but yeah, I mean,
45:29
you gotta call it like you see it here. I mean, if we're
45:30
going to bash Jade cart Gill and get told that we're you know, tippee
45:34
homers, like, we'll call it like we see it with anexc as well.
45:37
Um right, let's get to w SummerSlam previewing predictions at Trade this Saturday
45:42
from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Let's start with the SummerSlam Battle Royal.
45:45
Here. There's only been like five people announced. I think it's knock
45:50
A Moore, Tomasso, Champa, Shamus, La Night and Bronson Reed.
45:54
You gotta expect there's gonna be a lot more. But I think of those
45:58
five, there is someone that I think win this match. Been wondering for
46:00
some time when they're gonna pull the trigger and help continue the popularity that is
46:06
La Night so I'm gonna go with La Night to get the victory here.
46:08
So I'm gonna go off the board just because he wins Battle Royals. I'll
46:14
take Bobby lastly. Wow, that's a good choice. I've enjoyed the Bobby
46:17
Lashley stuff the last couple of weeks. Asked me and trade to where things
46:21
are going next match. Here is a MMA rules match with Ronda Rousey taking
46:25
on Shane and Basler. I would say that people probably aren't the most excited
46:30
for this match, but the vignettes they ran on Raw this past week,
46:31
we're very well done, Doctor Trey. Who do you like in this one?
46:37
I feel like Ron is leaving. I don't really know the rules for
46:39
this match. I don't really know how it plays out, just that I
46:44
feel like Ron is leaving, So I'll take Shaney to get the win.
46:46
Yeah, I like you believe Ronda Rowsey is leaving as well. They shotgun
46:50
this feud, So I'm gonna take Shannon Basler to win this one. Also,
46:53
this is a tough one to call. Doctor Trey Gunther defends the Intercontinal
46:57
Championship against Drew McIntyre. I went back and forth all day long preparing for
47:01
today's show. Ultimately, I'm going to take Gunther retaining because I think they
47:06
want to get him past the intercontinal longest reigning intercontinal champion Plateau and surpass Honky
47:12
talk Man and finally, finally somebody knocks down that Honky Talk meter that Santina
47:16
Morello had. So I'm gonna take Gunther. I don't love to pick.
47:19
I'm gonna take Gunther. Yeah, I've kind of gone back and forth.
47:22
I think Drew wins by disqualification, but Gunther teachs the belt is where I'm
47:28
headed. So Gunther technically retains. Because it's if we thought, like I
47:34
thought about this yere days, like it's crazy that we have two rains that
47:37
are like around either around four hundred or well passed four hundred days. But
47:42
when you have Roman and Gunther going right now, so it's a it's a
47:45
crazy time in w Either. They're trying to kind of push two guys past
47:50
records that have been around for you know, thirty years, so it's crazy
47:53
almost forty years for some of these So both of us will that Honky talk
47:58
thing is almost forty years. Well, let's get old, all right.
48:00
So both it was taken gun Through and routine Doctor Trey. Next match here
48:02
is Ricochet taken on Logan Paul and what is supposed to be the most viral
48:07
match of all time. Who do you like? So if it's the most
48:10
viral match of all times, you need to take like ken oficillin before the
48:14
match, a viral I could watch. Okay, Yeah, this is the
48:19
match of the night for me, Like, I'm looking forward to this match
48:21
kind of the most, So I'm gonna take Logan Paul getting the win though,
48:25
Yeah, I like you, I'm gonna take Logan Paul as well.
48:29
I thought maybe Ricochet we get a big victory here, but I think him
48:31
being in this match helps his star power, which makes me cringe as the
48:36
wrestling fan. But let's just be honest. Him getting in this match with
48:39
Logan Paul's gonna put some nice eyes onto it. Logan Paul takes it seriously,
48:43
and yeah, I'm gonna take Logan Paul getting victory. He's taken a
48:46
lot of l's in his w career and he needs to beat someone other than
48:50
the Miz. Next match is a triple threat match for the w W Women's
48:54
Championship as Oscar Defense against Charlotte Flair and Bianco Belair. This is a uh,
49:00
this is a hard one to call as well, but I'm gonna take
49:02
Oscar to retain because i feel like Charlotte and Bianca have gotten a lot of
49:07
love during this feud built, so I'm gonna take Oscar. Yeah, Oscar.
49:12
It kind of feels a little bit like when seeing it wrestle Miss at
49:16
WrestleMania, but the highlight was the stuff with the rock and seeing it and
49:21
Miss felt forgotten. I kind of feel that way with this where the focus
49:24
is on Bianca and Charlotte, but the champ is Oscar. So I'm gonna
49:29
take Oscar to retain as well, because I kind of feel like kind of
49:31
what we saw in the X Teacher with Diret match, like basically Charlotte and
49:35
Bianca take each other out, Oscar steals the win because I'm looking more forward
49:38
to Oscar and EO if that's the route they end up going as well.
49:43
All right, next match, here's Cody Roads taken on brock Lesner, Doctor
49:45
Trey. Who do you like in this one? And we're not getting the
49:50
bull rope match like we had to hope for No That pisses me off.
49:52
I was thinking about that today. Yeah, I was hoping for a little
49:55
bit bit out of stipulation in there, but that being the rubber match,
50:00
Rockby in part time Cody getting the build up for whatever they do with Cody.
50:02
Next, I'm gonna take Cody somehow sneaking out the wind. Yeah,
50:07
I'm gonna take Cody as well. I think if you're building them up to
50:09
be the face of the company, needs to get a victory over Brock here
50:12
in the rubber match. So I'm taking Cody Rhodes over Brock Lesner. Next
50:15
match here is Seth Freak and Ronalds defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor.
50:21
Another one that is very hard to call. But I said on last
50:23
week Sean, I'm gonna stick with my guns here. I'm gonna take Finn
50:25
Balor to win and become the new world heavyweight Champion. Yeah. I've gone
50:30
back and forth on this as well, and a lot of it was the
50:34
information you put out last week about you know, Seth needs some time off,
50:37
Seth needs to get healed. You know, we have Becky and Tritious
50:40
match coming up. I can see them both taking a little bit of time
50:44
off, so I'm gonna take Finn as well, And a lot of it
50:50
is because of the storyline you suggested, where Finn has the belt, Damian
50:52
has the briefcase, and you can tease that tension all the time for the
50:58
foreseeable for the short term. I don't think Finn will have the belt for
51:00
long, but I do think that that teasing of attention would be really good
51:05
at or good at a TV. All right, then let's take it to
51:07
the main event here. Roman Reigns defends the undisputed Universal Championship and recognition as
51:14
the Tribal Chief against Jay Usso in a tribal combat match, Doctor Trey,
51:19
Who do you like in this one? So tribal combat? Is I'd like
51:22
putin Jabi prison something like that, yeah? Or is it just like a
51:25
street fight from like our like coconuts involved. I don't know what the rules
51:30
again on this match are, so I'm interested as much as I want to
51:36
pick Jay because I think Jay is maybe the best overall talent in wrestling right
51:44
now. Between Promo's facials, in ring works, the whole nine yards,
51:49
I can't pull the trigger on it. I gotta take Roman to retain.
51:51
So I'm taking Roman to retain the title at SummerSlam. I am taking Roman
51:55
Reigns as well. I think this is the guy that's told them the championship
52:00
until WrestleMania forty and we'll be coming up on three years of him as a
52:04
universal champion. So both Doctor Trey and I take in Roman Reigns to win
52:07
against Jay Usso at SummerSlam. And that is our preview and predictions for this
52:15
Saturday's WWE Summer Stam. I'm really looking forward to the show at Ford Field
52:19
in Detroit. Of course, we will recap and review the show on next
52:22
