- 0:05Speaker 1: All right, Well, who's gonna play.
- 0:07Speaker 2: We have a round of the.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Smart Ass Game, Sammy and Menace. Well, Jeff, Jeff it again, Jeff,
- 0:17Speaker 1: Jeff hasn't played.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Yeah, have no idea what it is.
- 0:20Speaker 3: All right.
- 0:20Speaker 1: So the way the game works is I have I
- 0:23Speaker 1: have these different categories who.
- 0:25Speaker 2: What, where? Right? And then I start giving you.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Clues and they start real generic, and then they get
- 0:31Speaker 1: more specific as it goes on, and you just want
- 0:34Speaker 1: to be the first person to buzz in and give
- 0:37Speaker 1: me the correct answer.
- 0:38Speaker 2: That's a point.
- 0:38Speaker 1: First person to two points wins. Ok, all right, it's
- 0:42Speaker 1: it's it's an actual board game that you can, you know,
- 0:45Speaker 1: buy like one of those party games, and it is
- 0:47Speaker 1: called the smart Ass Game.
- 0:48Speaker 2: All right. It's got a big donkey on the front
- 0:50Speaker 2: of it.
- 0:51Speaker 3: You buzzed in with your name. I was gonna ask you,
- 0:53Speaker 3: I buzzed in with my name.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 0:55Speaker 1: So, you know, as we get to know Jeff Jeff
- 0:57Speaker 1: is I think I think Jeff's a very sharp guy.
- 0:59Speaker 1: He's definitely very good with you know, when it comes
- 1:01Speaker 1: to his professional responsibility, he's a very responsible guy. He's
- 1:05Speaker 1: very he's very task oriented.
- 1:07Speaker 2: He's on it. He's on it.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But Jeff, I don't consider myself to be a very
- 1:11Speaker 1: intelligent person. Like I'm a hard worker, but I'm not
- 1:15Speaker 1: really smart right some categories though, But like, Jeff, would
- 1:20Speaker 1: you consider yourself to be a smart person?
- 1:23Speaker 4: Not necessarily. I do have a lot of useless information
- 1:25Speaker 4: in my brain. Yeah, so that might help in this situation.
- 1:29Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't consider myself necessarily a smart when.
- 1:31Speaker 1: It comes like watching like you know, Jeopardy or you know,
- 1:35Speaker 1: even like the.
- 1:36Speaker 2: The duy Q.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah, like you found yourself like knowing most of the answers,
- 1:40Speaker 1: or like hanging in with everybody else.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I do pretty well. And actually me and my
- 1:45Speaker 3: son watch Jeopardy at least like three nights a week.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, so all right, I think the first round
- 1:50Speaker 2: of Jeopardy is doable. Yeah, double Jeopardy.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Yeah, it's gotten pretty pop culture.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Final Jeopardy almost impossible, possible.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, So who do we Who do we put
- 2:00Speaker 1: against Jeff, Jeff and Sammy or Tyler?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Tyler hasn't played much? Has he?
- 2:07Speaker 5: He played once against Morgan? I think that was it okay,
- 2:11Speaker 5: but he did what I think he won.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Yeah, you want to talk about a ton of useless
- 2:14Speaker 3: So that.
- 2:15Speaker 5: Actually might be a good matchup.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah, uh, all right, so we'll have a We'll have
- 2:21Speaker 1: Tyler and Jeff, and again it's who what where?
- 2:25Speaker 2: And then the.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Clues start very jerking meal at bar trivia. Ever seen that, Jeff,
- 2:29Speaker 1: like you go and they give you a little it's
- 2:31Speaker 1: like a multiple choice. There's no multiple choice here some
- 2:33Speaker 1: you know, it's not like you already know what one
- 2:35Speaker 1: of the answers are gonna be. But uh, it just
- 2:38Speaker 1: gets more until like the end, it's like, uh, the
- 2:40Speaker 1: first president of the United States with the initials g W.
- 2:45Speaker 2: It gets very very obvious.
- 2:48Speaker 5: But also, I think and SeaBASS remind people of the
- 2:51Speaker 5: rule that if you if you get it wrong, then
- 2:55Speaker 5: the other person gets a free guess on the.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Next right, because otherwise you're just out and right and
- 2:59Speaker 1: then post coast to victory. Yes, exactly, all right, so
- 3:02Speaker 1: it's the first person to two points, all right, the Tyler.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 3:06Speaker 6: Your name?
- 3:07Speaker 2: Okay? All right? With your name? Jeff? Yeah, all right, Jeff?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Who what or where?
- 3:15Speaker 3: You pick?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Who?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Who?
- 3:21Speaker 2: All right?
- 3:23Speaker 1: We are a group of early explorers. We traveled the
- 3:28Speaker 1: Atlantic in the ninth to eleventh centuries. We traveled by
- 3:34Speaker 1: ship from our northern Port. We discovered Greenland and Iceland, Jeff,
- 3:41Speaker 1: Jeff Vikings. The answer is Vikings, Tyler.
- 3:49Speaker 7: I was way overthinking it. I was thinking of those
- 3:52Speaker 7: crusader dudes.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Wear I worked in radio for thirty plus years.
- 3:59Speaker 7: That's a really you know, I usually wear hats, and
- 4:01Speaker 7: I don't like how they feel about my hat, so
- 4:03Speaker 7: I usually.
- 4:03Speaker 6: Wear them on the side and the temple it's interesting.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, this in case you need to hear through
- 4:08Speaker 1: the temple and in the brain wave, I would say
- 4:11Speaker 1: you might want to hear the.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Clues there, you know, yeah, clearly, you know. All right?
- 4:15Speaker 1: Uh, one point for Jeff in this round of the
- 4:18Speaker 1: smart ass game, Tyler. What or where am I?
- 4:22Speaker 2: Let's go? Where? Where am I?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Here we go?
- 4:26Speaker 2: I am an African country?
- 4:27Speaker 3: Good luck?
- 4:29Speaker 2: I was invaded by Mussolini.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Ty Tyler. Morocco. Morocco is incorrect. I have my own alphabet.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I am thought to be the birthplace of coffee.
- 4:45Speaker 6: You can come back in, Tyler.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Yeah, so now you're back in tef Flower is used
- 4:51Speaker 1: to make my national dish.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Everyone knows that one bad weather and war have caused
- 4:58Speaker 2: my food shortages. Tyler.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Tyler, Tunisia Tunisia is incorrect. They were down to the
- 5:06Speaker 1: last clue here, Jeff, I don't know where am I
- 5:10Speaker 1: with the initial e Oh, Ethiopia. Ethiopia is the boys?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Damn all right, I would have said Egypt. I would
- 5:21Speaker 2: have said. I never would have guessed Ethiopia.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Yeah, you guys they affected their food supply.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that went to That went to Jeff g he
- 5:28Speaker 1: got two points.
- 5:28Speaker 7: I didn't know or Ethiopia was invaded by Mussolini.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but now you do.
- 5:34Speaker 8: I'll give Tyler credit. Those first two were both both
- 5:36Speaker 8: North African countries.
- 5:38Speaker 7: That's why I was thinking. So I never would have
- 5:39Speaker 7: thought Ethiopia, which is the way on the.
- 5:41Speaker 2: You've impressed Sea Bass.
- 5:44Speaker 6: Educated guesses.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Egypt has pizza?
- 5:50Speaker 2: Cool? All right's day?
- 5:52Speaker 1: But yeah, alright, let's do uh.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I thought that was why he invaded because they had pizza. Yea,
- 6:00Speaker 2: let's do uh.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Let's do Menace and Tyler on this next one. All right,
- 6:05Speaker 1: I mean they're butt buddies.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Maybe we're kissing brothers.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, all right, I menace, who what or where?
- 6:14Speaker 6: Uh?
- 6:16Speaker 3: Let's go with where again?
- 6:18Speaker 2: Where?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Okay, I am a place in California. I can be crowded.
- 6:25Speaker 1: With tourists in the summer. Many of my roads are
- 6:30Speaker 1: closed in winter for safety. I cover almost one thousand,
- 6:35Speaker 1: two hundred square miles. I am one of America's well
- 6:42Speaker 1: known national parks. Ansel Adams photographed me in black and white. Yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 1: where am I? With the initials J Y N P?
- 6:58Speaker 2: Menace? Menace?
- 7:00Speaker 3: You send me?
- 7:06Speaker 2: Didn't say it right, but we.
- 7:07Speaker 6: Know you meant keep going.
- 7:10Speaker 3: You send me?
- 7:11Speaker 5: What's the full initials?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Wait?
- 7:14Speaker 3: Y n P?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Uh?
- 7:17Speaker 3: You send me National Park? What are you talking about? What?
- 7:20Speaker 2: What? What's what's the name of it?
- 7:22Speaker 5: You?
- 7:22Speaker 3: You send many? Rational park?
- 7:25Speaker 2: Rational?
- 7:26Speaker 3: You send me National Parks.
- 7:30Speaker 6: There's that guy in the Bugs Bunny cartoons with the
- 7:32Speaker 6: guns and the big rabbit. What's his name?
- 7:34Speaker 2: Uh?
- 7:35Speaker 3: You send me Sam? You send me?
- 7:43Speaker 5: Okay, centipede.
- 7:44Speaker 2: That's it. That's it, all right.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I don't think anybody picked a what am I? So, however,
- 7:50Speaker 1: this next one, we're just gonna go with what am I?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Even it out a little bit, all right, Here we go, guys, Yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 1: one point for menace?
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yeah, come on? What am I? I am?
- 8:02Speaker 1: A communication aid. I hang out mostly in the digital world.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I do not relate to corn, beef or illegal substances.
- 8:14Speaker 1: My shape looks like a tic tac toe board.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Tyler. I am a tyler.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It's a hashtag hashtag correct, hashtag is But what is
- 8:27Speaker 1: it though?
- 8:27Speaker 3: What is real?
- 8:29Speaker 5: And what's another word?
- 8:30Speaker 3: The person?
- 8:32Speaker 2: Yeah on the outside?
- 8:34Speaker 1: Number the number number sign number number? All right, one more,
- 8:41Speaker 1: it's all greg, Well you decide who what or where?
- 8:45Speaker 2: How? Let's go? Uh who? Who? Okay? All right? I
- 8:52Speaker 2: don't know if either one is gonna get this one?
- 8:54Speaker 1: All all right, here we go. I am a rom
- 8:58Speaker 1: com queen. I'm from an opera family, and I speak German.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I love and live in New Orleans. I have been
- 9:11Speaker 1: a bartender and a cheerleader. I star as Special Agent
- 9:16Speaker 1: Ashbourne in The Heat. I Cannot Defy Gravity. I escaped
- 9:25Speaker 1: from Jesse James men Men Menace, cat Vandy is incorrect?
- 9:34Speaker 2: Who am I? Okay? Sandra Bullock the answer. I wasn't
- 9:41Speaker 2: sure they were going to get that way.
- 9:42Speaker 3: I didn't know she was from an opera fan.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I know.
- 9:44Speaker 5: I thought that was in Hathway because I know her
- 9:46Speaker 5: parents do that.
- 9:47Speaker 7: I know there's two people from the Heat. It's her
- 9:48Speaker 7: and Melissa MacArthur's movie one of those.
- 9:53Speaker 5: I love that movie.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I wasn't sure I was going to come after f
- 9:56Speaker 1: because either it or I hated.
- 10:00Speaker 6: That's that's a definite, Greg.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Yeah, oh, it's all very fine.
- 10:03Speaker 1: All right, man, it's one more time. What's the name
- 10:04Speaker 1: of the National park?
- 10:06Speaker 3: You said in me?
- 10:07Speaker 2: They got it and I got one of.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Those notifications on my phone is Yeah. Jeff G said
- 10:15Speaker 1: going into that last round of the smart ass game
- 10:17Speaker 1: that he's got a lot of useless knowledge. Yeah, useless knowledge,
- 10:22Speaker 1: fun facts, you know, really useless.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I guess not use it in different situations.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I would argue a limited application.
- 10:31Speaker 6: Maybe knowing anything about like a real housewife.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Is entirely come up alcation.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Although, Greg, you started to say something and then you know,
- 10:43Speaker 1: we had to get back on the air.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you said to you said to Jeff G. He
- 10:48Speaker 2: could offer you how much it was like million, twenty
- 10:50Speaker 2: five million dollars, twenty five million dollars to tell him
- 10:54Speaker 2: what the bullpen is in baseball, and I would have
- 10:57Speaker 2: to not get the money. I don't. I've I've heard
- 11:00Speaker 2: the word a million times. Yeah, I've never known ill game.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I've watched the ball game. I watched them. I get
- 11:08Speaker 2: into I'm kind of a fair weathered fan. I get
- 11:10Speaker 2: into it only at the World Series if I care,
- 11:13Speaker 2: if it's exciting. Not really a baseball guy. I used
- 11:17Speaker 2: to not know what a rubber match was then what
- 11:19Speaker 2: he told me, and I've already forgotten, so I don't
- 11:22Speaker 2: really know what a rubber match is. I think it's
- 11:24Speaker 2: just the second game, right, like a bit between the
- 11:27Speaker 2: same two teams.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Well, if you've split, yeah, if you've split three game series, okay, and.
- 11:35Speaker 3: If each one one the last one is the rubber.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Match record, no idea bullpen, like take a guess. My
- 11:45Speaker 2: guess is and this could be so off base. The dugout,
- 11:49Speaker 2: it's like the dugout is called the dugout. That's why
- 11:52Speaker 2: I thought, is that just slang for the dugout.
- 11:54Speaker 8: It's a different dugout, but it's a very special dugout.
- 11:57Speaker 8: Yeah special, it's not really necessarily dug out up the
- 12:00Speaker 8: ground and they and they also started applying it in
- 12:03Speaker 8: business like in the office, like.
- 12:05Speaker 5: The sale Then.
- 12:07Speaker 1: It became the sales pits or whatever. But yeah, the bullpen,
- 12:11Speaker 1: the bullpen area of the office.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Is it where all the guys stand waiting to go
- 12:15Speaker 2: to bad circle? Oh, there's a name for that.
- 12:22Speaker 9: That you're on deck like I've heard the term. I
- 12:25Speaker 9: know that was baseball. That part I thought was the bullpen.
- 12:27Speaker 9: The little side area, a little warming up area circle like.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Where they're swinging the bat around. You thought that was
- 12:32Speaker 1: the bullpen? Yeah, pretty much on deck circle? Is it bullpen?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Work with Jeff and bullpen like a pig pen? Yeah?
- 12:41Speaker 2: Do you know what it is?
- 12:42Speaker 3: No? I thought it was a little side hangout.
- 12:44Speaker 2: You don't know what the bulleten is either outside the dugout.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Thank you for just.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Give you a clue.
- 12:49Speaker 6: A pen like something that keeps people fenced in?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Okay? Is there a fenced in area where you're waiting
- 12:55Speaker 2: to go up to back?
- 12:56Speaker 6: Typically there's a fence.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I don't know. It's not envisioning a ballpark, if I do,
- 13:04Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 13:04Speaker 6: I think I do.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Do you tell me you don't know. I don't know
- 13:07Speaker 2: anything about sports.
- 13:08Speaker 6: You're right, So you tell me if you think that's
- 13:09Speaker 6: a good clue.
- 13:10Speaker 5: Okay, not every player gets to go in the bullpen.
- 13:15Speaker 9: It's attached to the dugout, right, No, no'sact.
- 13:19Speaker 8: It's sort of you can say it's opposite from it's
- 13:21Speaker 8: like a second dugout.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Really it's a completely.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Part of the ballpark, so not everybody can go into
- 13:26Speaker 2: the but everybody can go into the dugout.
- 13:29Speaker 9: Is it located to where the coaches by first base?
- 13:35Speaker 2: No?
- 13:35Speaker 1: No, No, it's a dugout, although sometimes they are.
- 13:38Speaker 3: The dugouts, not by first base, although.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Sometimes they will have a bullpen type area that's along
- 13:46Speaker 1: like either the left or the right field like side,
- 13:48Speaker 1: like the sideline you know, in the outfield. Yes, yes,
- 13:52Speaker 1: like beyond first base, towards the outfield.
- 13:56Speaker 4: There's they do a very specific thing that's game related
- 14:00Speaker 4: in exactly.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Where they announce everything.
- 14:03Speaker 1: No, there's only okay, the players that are allowed in
- 14:10Speaker 1: the bullpen all play the same position that.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Pictures right.
- 14:16Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, I thought that area was right next to
- 14:21Speaker 9: the dugout.
- 14:22Speaker 1: No, they're usually in the outfield. It's usually beyond the
- 14:25Speaker 1: left field or right field wall.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You'll see the guys in there are in there, yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 2: because you'll see them in there warming up.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Okay, this is how I thought that.
- 14:36Speaker 1: And then and then the manager comes out when it's
- 14:37Speaker 1: time to make a pitching change, and he makes a
- 14:39Speaker 1: call to the bullpen, and then the picture who has
- 14:42Speaker 1: been warming up, he comes in.
- 14:43Speaker 4: He runs out from the outfield, and that's when they
- 14:45Speaker 4: play like the interim music.
- 14:47Speaker 3: This is how I thought the layout was.
- 14:48Speaker 9: There was the dugout, then there was the little side area,
- 14:54Speaker 9: the circle that you're talking about with the batters, and
- 14:56Speaker 9: then there was the picture area. But I thought the
- 15:00Speaker 9: an area in the in the picture area where the
- 15:02Speaker 9: same thing.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Let's say I'm standing on the first base line, I'm
- 15:04Speaker 1: staring at the dugout. The on deck circle would be
- 15:07Speaker 1: to the right, to the right of the dugout, between
- 15:09Speaker 1: the dugout and say home plate right because that's where
- 15:11Speaker 1: they're coming from the dugout. There's an on deck circle.
- 15:14Speaker 6: And they're so very unlikely to have foul balls hit that.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Area, correct, right now? What menace might you might be
- 15:20Speaker 1: thinking about is some of these ballparks to the left
- 15:25Speaker 1: of the dugout down like say the first base line
- 15:27Speaker 1: into the outfield sometimes and I don't really see them
- 15:30Speaker 1: this much anymore. They would have pictures warming up right there.
- 15:34Speaker 3: That's what I'm talking about.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah, But like the other players, they don't have the
- 15:39Speaker 1: typical standard bullpen like what we're talking about or what
- 15:42Speaker 1: people think about when you think about the bullpen.
- 15:45Speaker 6: Good place to put a bullpen.
- 15:46Speaker 2: You could put seats there. Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 1: And also there's there's a ton of foul balls that
- 15:49Speaker 1: are going down. I think the Giants play in San
- 15:55Speaker 1: Francisco like they would have pictures warming up along the.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Along people I'm from. That's why I thought it was.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Yeah. But yeah, the bullpen, wow, no kidding? So you
- 16:06Speaker 2: and you say bullpin? Does he talks on our word bullen?
- 16:12Speaker 6: Bullpen?
- 16:14Speaker 2: No? But now I know is a pin.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Or pen pen like a play pen? All right, that's
- 16:21Speaker 1: where you keep all the bulls right.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Right in case there's a big victory, they send the
- 16:26Speaker 2: bowls out.
- 16:26Speaker 6: Yeah, okay. Apparently the only field that still has the
- 16:31Speaker 6: bullpins along the foul lines is Tropicana Field, the Tampa
- 16:35Speaker 6: Bay Race.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 6: Else it is damn and then Oakland is just gone.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Now I know. And now I finally get rubber match.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I totally get it. Well you were totally then you forgot.
- 16:47Speaker 6: The should just call it a tiebreaker?
- 16:49Speaker 2: I guess so, But it makes sense if you have
- 16:51Speaker 2: a best of filling the blank series. Yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Three one, oh the Woodie Show entertaining and educational.
- 16:57Speaker 2: There you see, Now I have useful information. There you go.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Eight seven four. Wood text us over to two two
- 17:05Speaker 1: nine eight, So
- 17:06Speaker 2: The Woody Show will be right back
