- 0:16And money. Good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome
- 0:19in his time. Now for a car talk right here on K one,
- 0:22the one you try to stand. Hey Jason, how you know? Hey
- 0:26Tom, I'm uh good to see you. I'm uh substituting for Brad who
- 0:31is uh out skiing on spring Brey and uh I'm excited for him. I'm
- 0:39I'm barely walking. I'm I'm I'm just recovering from from a little surgery.
- 0:44Tom. I thought you were dancing down the hall. No, no,
- 0:47no, no, I gotta learn that step little foot surgery. Uh,
- 0:52it's been a rocky road, uh to recovery, you know. Uh the
- 0:58pint, Uh sometimes two pints a night of rocky road. There you go.
- 1:03I I worked on that the whole whole trip up here. There you
- 1:08go, There you go. How we do it with cars? My friend?
- 1:11Cars are doing great. Uh So Toyota uh is just kicking off a
- 1:19promotion and uh we have a great inventory over there. And then of course
- 1:25on the fard side, dungeus Ford, it is truck month and everybody is
- 1:33celebrating truck month. So one of the great things about both promotions, interest
- 1:40rates are down, they're back to Yeah, what what we expected pre cough
- 1:46cough hack hack. Yeah. Yeah, it's uh, it's it's nice to
- 1:53uh, you know, sell cars and in a relatively normal environment. There
- 1:57you go. Yeah, hey brought friends today. I sure did. Jason
- 2:02Barta from Boys and Girls Club of Bartlesville is here with us. One of
- 2:10the things I'm curious about, Jason, is it just now Bartlesville or do
- 2:16you change the name to include your Dewey facility. We currently have two names
- 2:22right now, so that's working. Depends on which subject we're talking about.
- 2:24But yeah, we have Boys and Girls Club of Dewey and Boys and Girls
- 2:28Cup of Bartlesville. Organization name is still Boys and Girls Club Bartlesviell, but
- 2:31we we use our site names with respect to which club we're talking about.
- 2:37So yeah, So if you don't know the club in Bartlesville or the Club
- 2:43and Dewey just opened what three months ago? Yeah, beginning January, right
- 2:47after the Christmas break, we opened up for the for the kiddos. So
- 2:52how how big is the facility up there? It's about seventeen thousand square feet.
- 2:58It's got similar faces to Bartlesville. It's got a gym and stem center
- 3:02and game room and computer lab, got a little teen area for our teenagers.
- 3:07And we do the food program the same as Bartlesville. Every night we
- 3:12do an evening dinner and this summer we'll roll into breakfast, lunch, and
- 3:16snack in the in the summer program. So it's good. We got almost
- 3:20two hundred kids signed up out there, and do we already and running about.
- 3:23We turned over one hundred kids in the building here last week, so
- 3:30it gets uptick every week when we pull those numbers. It just grows a
- 3:35little bit every week. So that's going really well. The sasas phenomenal out
- 3:38there. They're doing a great job and the kids are having a blast.
- 3:40That is so awesome. I've been up to do you a few times.
- 3:47So it seems like a real walkable city. Most of the kids just walk.
- 3:53Yeah, it's real walkable for the kids because it's right in the backyard
- 3:55of the school, so pretty easy walk flat. Yeah. Yeah, it's
- 4:00a lot easier than running a bus back and forth, I'll tell you that.
- 4:03So yeah, we we send the staff over to the elementary school and
- 4:08get the kids and walk them over to the club after the school and the
- 4:11older kids trickle in as they mosey their way over there. But yeah,
- 4:15it's it's working out well, and it's we're getting adjusted to the new space
- 4:21and getting everything figured out. And we'll roll into summer program here before long.
- 4:27So during summer it's it's it's basically day and night. It'll be it'll
- 4:32be full house, Yeah, it'll be. We'll open up seven thirty and
- 4:36close down at five thirty to be there and the kids can come every day,
- 4:42or they can come three days a week, or afternoons only, or
- 4:46you know whatever. So we'll do a plethora of field trips out there.
- 4:49And one of the cool things we have this summer is in both our in
- 4:54both clubs in Bartlesville and and Dewey, the Oklahoma State University College of Engineering
- 5:00and Architecture is going to come in with their college students for a week and
- 5:02they're going to do a STEM camp at both sites with the kids in our
- 5:06new stem center that we got with all our new equipment that I don't know
- 5:11what any of it does, but it looks cool when the kids are doing
- 5:14it. Yeah, good company. The STEM center really is intriguing. I
- 5:17probably well, I would love to play, but as a kid I would
- 5:23have just been all over that. What exactly what candidate? Oh gosh,
- 5:29there's uh oozo bots. We have a three D printer in both of the
- 5:32locations, so they can tinker around with that, and there's all sorts of
- 5:38equipment that they're able to use. And we uh were blessed to have the
- 5:43Coward Consenior Foundation come in. They partnered with Conico Phillips and the Coward Consenior
- 5:47Foundation on upgrading those STEM centers and they came in and did some training with
- 5:51our staff to show us how to use and how to how to operate this
- 5:56stuff and teach just the things to the kids. So but we're excited about
- 6:00Oklahoma State coming in. There's there's college kids do a really good job and
- 6:03engaging the kids and the program and it's a pretty cool deal. They walk
- 6:08out with some T shirts and swag bags and stuff like that from Oklahoma States.
- 6:13That's great. But yeah, it's it's exciting time and we'll roll some
- 6:17enrollments out here the beginning of April. We'll start signing up for that summer
- 6:21program and those spots won't won't last long, I'm sure. But three D
- 6:27printer, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's uh, it's pretty cool.
- 6:32Just got to keep the right staff on there to know how to use it
- 6:35and teach the kids and stuff. Because it's not for it's not for everybody.
- 6:40It's gone over my head. So how do you staff? How many
- 6:43people are staff in Dewey we run we have twenty to one ratios. We're
- 6:49below that in Dewey right now. We have about ten on the ten minimum
- 6:55on the floor every day. We have a site director at each site that
- 7:00kind of runs the day to day operations, and then we have part time
- 7:04positions that we employed. We'll bring in some additional summer employees for the summer
- 7:11program because we run a ten hour day program versus in the after school program
- 7:15we run four hours, so we have a lot more of the day that
- 7:16we need to staff it. So we'll we'll hire some positions in all the
- 7:23areas in both clubs for for our summer program. Or is it like a
- 7:27college Yeah, yep, we do. We get quite a few college kids.
- 7:31We get a few kids that have recently graduated graduated high school, just
- 7:36the little graduate this may and then we have obviously our year round staff that
- 7:41stay with us in the summer program. And stay on for the after school
- 7:44so but yeah, well we'll staff it up and we'll we'll start the applications
- 7:54for that summer program on the kids side of it at the beginning of April.
- 8:00Yeah, so what what are the uh what are the qualifications for a
- 8:05kid to join the club? Got to be seven seven years old and then
- 8:11they age out at eighteen. So other than that we do with our summer
- 8:15we will start with our our kids that are with us all year. They
- 8:18get first round of sign ups and we'll see what comes in from that and
- 8:22with the interest, and then we'll go beyond that. But we we uh,
- 8:26we don't want to turn our backs on the on the kids that are
- 8:28in there during the after school program every day and rely on the club and
- 8:33and the programs that we do. So we'll start and we'll give them an
- 8:35early sign up phase to get signed up for the summer program. So that
- 8:41is but other than that, age seven and that's about the minimum qualification.
- 8:46So tell me a little bit about funding. How does this how do how
- 8:56do you operate? Well, yeah, it's uh, we're very active in
- 9:00the grant world. We have into April coming up, we have our Harley
- 9:03party. That's huge for us. That helps really give us what we need
- 9:07to for the summer program that we have as our main fundraiser. Place it
- 9:13at a good time the end of April, April twenty seventh, if you
- 9:16want to get that on your calendar, we'll we'll have that again, and
- 9:20that's a big piece of our puzzle. We're a United a Way organization,
- 9:24so we get United Way funding as well, and then we're you know,
- 9:28our board is very active, Our board is very generous, and there's a
- 9:35lot of a lot of generous people in Bartlesville that want to help kids and
- 9:39you know, we're we're fortunate enough to be in the position that we feel
- 9:41like we can do that with their support, and you know, this community
- 9:45has responded. We do twenty dollars memberships for the kids, so we don't
- 9:48have any fee based programs. So uh, you know, the community,
- 9:52the businesses here, the individual people done just being one of those are supportive
- 9:58of what we're doing and that helps. But we're we're we're active in that
- 10:03world for sure, because the twenty dollars that we charge for for the kid
- 10:07doesn't quite don't quite get them to see it covering. Yeah, all the
- 10:15end, which is right maybe right. So, if if somebody wants to
- 10:22plug in either as a volunteer or a donor, what's what's the best way
- 10:28for them to see? Yeah, they can give us a call Beth at
- 10:31the Boys and Girls Club for if someone wants to get engaged as a supporter,
- 10:37as a donor, and then Haley and Bartlesville and Marianna and Dewey if
- 10:41they want to get engaged as a volunteer. If they have you know,
- 10:46hobbies or passions that they want to share with with kids, we'd love to
- 10:50have them involved. We obviously probably have a group of kids that share that
- 10:54passion and we try to just match them up with you know what they what
- 10:58they love as a volunteer and match them up with a group of kids who
- 11:01also has a hobby or interest in that area and and let that develop a
- 11:05program out of that. So but yeah, it's we'll, uh we do.
- 11:11There's a brief training and a background check and we can get you started
- 11:15with you know, a group of kids who who share the same passions that
- 11:18that you share. So I think that's beautiful. Yeah, good way of
- 11:24passing on some wisdom yea, And yeah, it is, Yeah, and
- 11:26it gives the kids an opportunity to get in front of another positive adult and
- 11:31you know, they're are our staff are in there with every day and every
- 11:33hour of every day. And you know, getting some new programs and new
- 11:37people involved in the program is always always a good thing. And you know,
- 11:41we we uh make sure we are able to meet the volunteer schedule.
- 11:46And obviously if they have a day or two days a week or something like
- 11:50that and not you know, don't have all five days available, then we
- 11:52can work with that. And uh so, yeah, there's plenty of opportunities
- 11:58to get involved stand fitness, uh, computers, we have a game room,
- 12:05you know, pool, ping pong, some of those if you're that's
- 12:09right along. Yeah, well I was looking for people that know the trick
- 12:13shots that. Yeah, it's very entertaining. One of the things I've observed
- 12:20from going to luncheons at the UM uh that the kids have an opportunity to
- 12:33see that there's there's a greater world. Yeah, there's a bigger world out
- 12:37there, and uh yeah, that's a great opportunity for a young person.
- 12:41Yeah. Yeah, they enjoyed the luncheon. Are you through the year Canadate's
- 12:45get a little bit nervous speaking of we go Kiarny won our local youth through
- 12:50the year. She goes to the middle of April to Oklahoma City to compete
- 12:52at the state level. So, uh, she's got her all her packet
- 12:56and everything submitted to the state competition and we'll go over to Oklahoma City the
- 13:00middle of April and and let her compete for more scholarship money. So do
- 13:05you have a tally on how much scholarship money you've hundreds of thousands. Yeah,
- 13:11Yeah, we've had some success. There's a lot of people involved in
- 13:13that. The judges do a great job at our local event of preparing them,
- 13:18and then we have some people that lean in between the local and the
- 13:22state event to get their speech ready and and really invest some time in the
- 13:26kids to get them ready when they're at the state competition at the podium.
- 13:31So but yeah, we've had We've had a good number of kids that had
- 13:37some success, and it's provided a lot of college dollars for kids to go
- 13:43on and do what they do. Just such an amazing program. Yeah,
- 13:46it's cool, it's fun. Any chants anybody's working on an old guys club
- 13:54where old guys can get together and no, it's not not going to happen.
- 14:01Yeah, just poison CRUs Yeah. The other part of that qualification,
- 14:07Jason is you've got to be seven, but you're also kind of down to
- 14:09eighteen. Yeah, he's looking for a place to talk about the good old
- 14:16day. I play with the printer I again. Yeah, thank you for
- 14:24all of the work that you do here in town. Really, what you're
- 14:31doing with young people, it's what Brad uh what the what the whole dealership
- 14:37we like to call sparks in It's it's a way of launching humans and and
- 14:43you guys really do a great job of giving kids an opportunity and you know,
- 14:52no matter the circumstance, I hope launch them. Yeah. We're you
- 14:58know, blessed to be in Bartlesville and blessed to you know, the businesses.
- 15:01And I know Dungeus has been involved forever with the Boys Club and now
- 15:05Boys and Girls Club supporting it so that that helps tremendously. And we couldn't
- 15:11do what we're doing, and the kids wouldn't have the opportunities they have today
- 15:16if it wasn't for the people in this community supporting it. And having a
- 15:20high priority on young people and and getting them ready for life after age eighteen.
- 15:26So that's ultimately what we're working for with with all the kids is getting
- 15:31them ready for for life. So we appreciate you know, DUNGEUS and all
- 15:35the other corporations and individuals and businesses in Bartlesville that that that support the club.
- 15:43So thank you, thank you. Yeah, I know you have to
- 15:48split. Yeah, yeah, So we really appreciate you giving us time.
- 15:56Thank you for the opportunity. Tell me rat next time he invited me to
- 15:58skiing instead of radio shot, keep asking him, Jason, Jason BARTI,
- 16:04thank you very much. Trying to score away to play with the three D
- 16:12printer. Well, Tom mhm. We had we had a great things going
- 16:22when we were kids and lots of opportunities. But a three D printer,
- 16:29Uh, still seems like magic to me. Yeah. It so we should
- 16:37probably spend a minute or two talking about maintenance for your vehicle. After all,
- 16:42it is car talk. Well it is car talk. We have some
- 16:48weather rolling in and uh, if you've got those flippy flappy wiper blades,
- 16:56you're you're probably gonna want to have those swap. Doubt pretty quickly. Yeah,
- 17:02I'm looking off to the west. I think, yeah, really quickly.
- 17:07So Dungeons Family of Autos, Dungeons Toyota and Dungeons Ford. We make
- 17:12it really easy to do maintenance on your vehicle. And in fact, if
- 17:18you call us at nine three three three nine hundred, Dungeons Ford has a
- 17:25new program where we'll actually pick up your vehicle, bring it back to Dungeons,
- 17:30do the maintenance or service on it, and then return it to you.
- 17:37And uh, it doesn't matter whether you're at home, whether you're at
- 17:41work, out fishing. We will come to you, pick up your vehicle,
- 17:48do the maintenance needed, and then deliver it back to you. It's
- 17:52it's it's very convenient. If I didn't work at the dealership, I would
- 17:57take advantage of it. There you go. We also have some specials going
- 18:10in the in the Ford world. Again it's truck month. Can't beat that,
- 18:15No, you really can't beat that. So right now we have interest
- 18:22rates as low as one point nine percent on select vehicles. Shut the forward
- 18:27door. That is something else? Can you do that? Wow? We're
- 18:37also still doing a number of factory orders, custom orders. If there is
- 18:45something that you are interested in that isn't on our website at dungeess Ford or
- 18:52dungeons Ford online or dungeus Toyota Online. We'll find it for you. It's
- 19:00it's pretty amazing the job that Kobe does to bring in vehicles. He is
- 19:07connected like nobody else. He really is. We had a gentleman and spent
- 19:12a well he's able to track down exactly what you're looking for. He's the
- 19:22finder. Well, you know, we may need to give him that Moniker
- 19:30er. We also have a pretty good selection of used vehicles right now on
- 19:36the lot, so we've got a number of work trucks. We have a
- 19:42twenty seven Ford F one f XLT. It is under twenty five thousand dollars.
- 19:52It's actually I think Brad has it priced at twenty one to three fifty.
- 19:59That is that's going to go fast. Yeah, it probably won't be
- 20:03there by the time you get back to the office. It may not be
- 20:07and I may not go back to the office. So that may make it
- 20:11easy. Feel the medications roll well. One of the things that one of
- 20:15the things that really has has my eye. One of the vehicles that we
- 20:22haven't used lot. We have a twenty nineteen Audi A six plus. It's
- 20:30it's it's a little rocket ship, very fast car, fifty two thousand miles
- 20:38priced just under thirty thousand to twenty nine two fifty. Now, we don't
- 20:44want your break in the speed limit, but if you have to be someplace,
- 20:48it's reliable. It's it's definitely going to get you there. Yeah,
- 20:52well that's pretty darn good. I like that. So we also have a
- 20:57twenty two Jeep Gladiator, So it's a willis. It's a you kind of
- 21:03get some of those on trade, don't you ever know? We do?
- 21:07And this is kind of a cool little combo of a you know, it's
- 21:11it's like a jeep that has a pickup truck tail and uh, pretty cool
- 21:18is what it is. It really is. So if you are out there
- 21:25looking for a nice used vehicle, please go to our website Dungeon's Choice dungeons
- 21:34Choice dot com. It'll lead you to either Dungeons Toyota or dungeons Ford Online
- 21:41and take a look at the used vehicle inventory that we have out there there.
- 21:45You go every now and then you guys get things like a big ol'
- 21:48hummers and stuff like that. Went fast. We do have one really you
- 21:56know, talk about exotic. So we have twenty three BMW X five.
- 22:03It's a plug in hybrid, which means you you plug it in, you
- 22:11get battery life out of it. I think it'll run about forty five miles
- 22:18on battery and then it switches over to gasoline. So it really is if
- 22:26you've well, if you've got a distance trip, it's it's a great vehicle.
- 22:29And you know, we're starting to see a lot of that coming from
- 22:33our OEMs, both Toyota and Ford. And I think over the next couple
- 22:40of years, you're you're going to see some real crafty innovations from Toyota,
- 22:45especially that are hybrid and all kinds of all kinds of new ways. It
- 22:53used to be just the Priis, but boy, they've expanded that. Yeah.
- 22:57One of my my favorite new vehicles on the Toyota side is the Toyota
- 23:03Crown. It is it's a luxury vehicle and Car and Driver just named it
- 23:11as possibly the best luxury vehicle of the year. So they're they're going to
- 23:17tease it for you know, another nine months or so, but fantastic ride.
- 23:26It is the deluxe coop that Toyota is making, and uh, you
- 23:33know, it's it's almost rare to find, uh, like a landmark kind
- 23:37of coup. Uh. Now uh in any line, Uh, we've sold
- 23:45quite a few of those hybrid. They they are all hybrid, great gas
- 23:51mileage. You would never know their hybrid. But uh, what a great
- 23:56ride if you're if you're looking for a luxury car, Dungeons Toyota, Yep,
- 24:03yeah nice. So they last forever, folks, I'm just telling you.
- 24:07All you have to do is rotate the tires, get the oil,
- 24:08change, check the belts once in a while, and you're good for good
- 24:11twenty years. You know. This is why Toyota is such a good value.
- 24:18You know, great resale. There's a whole lot of car left over
- 24:22when you're done. They last twenty years and then you can turn around and
- 24:26sell it. It'll still go another ten to the next one. Yeah.
- 24:30Yeah, so tom a lot going on at Dungeons again. I want to,
- 24:38you know, kind of urge people. If you are driving around with
- 24:42floppy windshield wipers, if your tire pressure is a little bit low, if
- 24:51your brakes are squeaky, yeah, please come into Dungeons. Get your vehicle
- 24:56maintained. You can drive into Dungeons for or Dungeons Toyota. You can make
- 25:02an appointment for either Dungeons Toyota or Dungeons Ford Online. Uh. And then
- 25:08with Dungeons forward, as I was just mentioning, we are doing pickup and
- 25:15delivery, and in fact we're not just doing pick up and delivery, Tom,
- 25:18We're also doing a little bit of mobile service, especially if you have
- 25:23something that's electronic that needs to be reset or tweaked, or something simple that
- 25:33we can take care of, like exactly you've got to mash unit. It's
- 25:41that is going to be the big push next quarter is basically the mobile service,
- 25:47truck Man, this is great. Now we've got chances of brain all
- 25:51the way through Monday. So if your tires are well bald, yeah,
- 25:56you're not going anywhere on a wet road. In fact, you're just go
- 26:00to the ditch. And you don't want to be doing that. And like
- 26:03Jason keeps telling us about the wipers, you can't see the road, You're
- 26:07not gonna You're gonna be in a lot of trouble too. So avoid trouble
- 26:11before the rain hits. And to make that appointment of dungeons three three three
- 26:17nine hundred. We'll come and pick up your car, we'll service it,
- 26:22we'll bring it back to you. You get the deluxe treatment. I don't
- 26:26think anybody else is doing that. Oh yeah, no, you just spoiling
- 26:29us rotten and I love it. How many times in our lifetimes would that
- 26:37have been? Like a godsend? Oh yes, yeah, probably at least
- 26:41a dozen. I can foresee some lockout recoveries with our mobile units. Yeah
- 26:52yeah, and a lot of a lot of wiper blades. There you go.
- 26:56And then let's just remember these folks are fully trained. You don't have
- 27:00to worry about some you know, weekend mcguy for coming out and working on
- 27:03your car. These are top flight, certified, bona fide, got papers
- 27:07on them. Professionals they are, Yeah, they are. They are.
- 27:12Tom. Speaking of professionals, you're a professional. Thank you for no professional?
- 27:18What? Thank you? Thank you for hosting us this morning, Thank
- 27:21you for being here with us. Yeah, and tell everybody where we can
- 27:25find you. First of all, in line online dungeons Ford Online dot com,
- 27:32uh Dungeestoyota dot com or an easy one to remember dungeschoice dot com.
- 27:40It will get you to both websites and there you can make an appointment for
- 27:45service, you can price your own car, or you can come in and
- 27:51see US Highway seventy five just south of No Water Road. All right,
- 27:56Thank you, buddy. Thanks thanks for listening to one on one of the
- 28:02professional a paid presentation in fourteen hundred K one
