- 0:36Welcome back to Rick and Elaine discuss the Bible
- 0:38in particular, the book of Joe. Good afternoon,
- 0:40Elaine Ray Clark. How are you? I'm fine. Thank
- 0:43you very much. Mr. Welsh in sunny. Well, it's
- 0:47not very early. Is it sunny today in California?
- 0:50No, California. You're in North Carolina, aren't
- 0:52you? I'm in North Carolina. Yeah, it is not sunny
- 0:55yet. The sun's not up, but that's good. My wife
- 0:58took it upon herself to paint our deck while
- 1:00I was gone to Atlanta. And so she wanted to get
- 1:03up. Early and so she got up early before the
- 1:05Sun got out. She's already out there painting.
- 1:07She's outside painting the deck It looks phenomenal.
- 1:11It's called tuxedo It's basically the whole all
- 1:13of the the like the pickets and the railings
- 1:16and everything are black And then the floor is
- 1:18like this really nice gray and it's very cool
- 1:20on the feet It's hot It's wood, isn't it? It's
- 1:25a wooden deck, yeah. But it looks really beautiful.
- 1:27I immediately noticed it when I drove from the
- 1:29road. My wife, when she is off in the summer,
- 1:31she makes a list of projects that she likes to
- 1:33try to get done. She never gets them all, but
- 1:35she likes to make a list and she just gets to
- 1:37work and she makes the house look nice and she
- 1:40just loves to be outside and she loves to make
- 1:42the house look pretty. Well, I tell you what,
- 1:45what a woman. She can come and do mine if she
- 1:46wants. You know what? I'm glad that she does
- 1:48it. Now, I am not that guy. Like, and I know
- 1:51some people, you know, are. uh i'm not i've never
- 1:55been i have horrible horrible allergies if i
- 1:57get outside it doesn't take long i'm a big whiny
- 2:00baby if i start having allergies i will act like
- 2:04i'm dying so i'm a big baby i'm just a big baby
- 2:06but yeah i get a lot of allergies though smells
- 2:09are very bad for me i get headaches sinuses yeah
- 2:12Now that doesn't mean that i don't work i work
- 2:15really really really hard but i'm inside an industrial
- 2:17shop with the doors closed breathing all kinds
- 2:19of chemicals that are gonna kill me but that's
- 2:22that's what i do you put me outside and it feels
- 2:25like death like it's hard for me to breathe but
- 2:28i get i take zyrtec and it helps but whatever
- 2:32more chemicals more more yeah just more chemicals
- 2:35anyway i'm back from blade show if you see my
- 2:37eyes are very i'm very tired i'm very very tired
- 2:41but i told elaine i got some good comments i've
- 2:44got some side messages about our job study people
- 2:47are uh excited to start watching this on tuesday
- 2:49which i'm so thankful for absolutely so am i
- 2:53i mean it'd be nice to hear some of the um comments
- 2:55I'm going to read them to you. Here's one from
- 2:57Cherry. We haven't heard from her in a while.
- 2:59I actually had a long conversation. Yeah, I had.
- 3:01Reminds me of that film, Big Mama's House. She's
- 3:04Cherry, but it's Cherry. Yeah. I think of Cherry
- 3:08Valance from The Outsiders. Oh, well, I don't
- 3:11know. You don't you don't know that. It's a S
- 3:14.E. Hinton book. Anyway, so Cherry, I actually
- 3:18had a long conversation over the phone with her
- 3:20last night. Cherry and I are really good friends,
- 3:22but this is what she said. And Cherry was on
- 3:24the Berzabria and occasionally will come back
- 3:27on and do a study with me. She says, good morning.
- 3:30I was so excited this morning to get to hear
- 3:32the continuation of this study. Excellent. I
- 3:35feel like listening to this study is like a cow
- 3:38chewing cud. Oh, that's very nice because they
- 3:41keep regurgitating and having another shoot.
- 3:46That's what I thought. I was like, it makes me.
- 3:49Cherry, when I read that, I thought, oh, so our
- 3:51study makes you throw up in your own mouth. I
- 3:53was going to say, yeah, but there's even more
- 3:56sickly you chew it and swallow it again. And
- 3:58then do it again. So she says, I am loving it
- 4:01and look forward to listening to the whole study
- 4:03on repeat. So what she means is like she loves
- 4:06to chew on it and go back and forth. And I get
- 4:08it. I got that in the beginning, Rick. I know
- 4:10you did. I might look gormless, but I'm not.
- 4:13Oh, I didn't. I mean, you're like, oh, our study
- 4:15makes you puke in your mouth. Like, cool. All
- 4:17right. So she said, I know I have said it before.
- 4:22that it's a study that's worth listening to for
- 4:24a lifetime and I still will say it again. One
- 4:27thing that caught me this morning was staying
- 4:30the course. That cut me good because I know me,
- 4:36but praise God, he knows me too. Well, and he
- 4:39knows you better than you do. That's right. Much
- 4:43love and thanks to y 'all for remaining dedicated
- 4:45to providing this study as well as so many more
- 4:48worth chewing cud. Yeah, yeah, I'm glad we can
- 4:55make you throw up in your own mouth and chew
- 4:58it. It's a bit like, you know, Peter says the
- 5:00dogs return to its own vomit and having a good
- 5:02old chew up. I mean, you know, I think that meant
- 5:06something a bit different, though, from chewing
- 5:07it and having a go. Yeah. She's got a wonderful
- 5:10way of complimenting somebody. You know what?
- 5:13It's a good metaphor. It makes me vomit in my
- 5:17own mouth. And then I chew on it all day. And
- 5:19then I do it. I swallow. I do it again. That's
- 5:21how good this study is for a cow. That is how
- 5:24it gets it sort of nourishment. That's right.
- 5:27It's a good thing for a cow. I said so. So we're
- 5:31a couple of old heifers. Right. That's what she
- 5:37meant. We're a bunch of heifers. We're a bunch
- 5:40of heifers. All right. Here's the next one. There
- 5:42was only two from this. All right. Tony Driver.
- 5:46Hi, Tony. Hi, Tony. Great study today, Rick and
- 5:51Elaine. I really enjoyed this one and I'm very
- 5:53intrigued by the study you are planning to do
- 5:55next. That's today. I'm glad you're excited.
- 5:59I also saw the Jonah part in the story as well
- 6:01how God Uses suffering pressure and even being
- 6:05brought low to turn his people back to himself
- 6:07that connection Connection really stood out to
- 6:10me This job study keeps opening up more and more
- 6:13layers and I'm thankful to be walking through
- 6:15it with y 'all until next week Have a fantastic
- 6:17week hugs to my friends and Bible study family
- 6:20hugs to you, too By the way, she's written even
- 6:22more songs. If you guys go to Tony driver 15,
- 6:2618, I think it is on YouTube and look at her
- 6:28channel. She's got a playlist that says Job Studies.
- 6:31I think there's like 40 in there. I mean, or
- 6:32more. She's she's right. Every time we do a study,
- 6:34she writes another song. Oh, how wonderful. It's
- 6:38really good because she captures what we're you
- 6:40know, I can't imagine singing ever, but I do.
- 6:43I mean, I do. We sang all those in a row. It'd
- 6:45be longer than the book with Joe. It would be.
- 6:51Maybe she should be in a book form. Tony cherry
- 6:54both of you thank you we love you guys also I've
- 6:58had side conversations with Heather Ross. I'm
- 7:03very excited what's coming very soon is. Cameron
- 7:08Cameron driver of course I went and saw him speak
- 7:11at that church I talked about that last time
- 7:13but his wife Jalen and his sister Heather are
- 7:18going to be doing a podcast together. And I've
- 7:22asked them if we could talk about it and bring
- 7:24it into the borough's network and have these
- 7:25two young women talk about this stuff. Super
- 7:28excited about that. That should be coming on
- 7:30soon. When I say soon, I mean the Preterus soon,
- 7:34not the Dispensational soon. If you guys read
- 7:38my article yesterday that I wrote, then you know
- 7:40that the Preterus soon isn't quite soon either.
- 7:43We like to say soon about to and near as if it's
- 7:46immediate, but it was actually 40 years. So it
- 7:48wasn't quite immediate like we like to think.
- 7:50So time is really interesting. Bible's not really
- 7:53concerned so much with chronology is about God
- 7:56completing what he said he's going to do in his
- 7:58world. Yes, it's all about prophecy, isn't it?
- 8:01That's what it's about. And prophecy is weird.
- 8:03It's a weird way of communicating. It's a weird
- 8:06way. Like it is, if you read prophecy with a
- 8:09modern eye, you're not going to even remotely
- 8:11get it. You're just not. It's not even the same
- 8:14kind of language guys. And when we say soon,
- 8:16near and at hand, we like to use it as predators
- 8:18and say, well, how can soon mean 2000 years?
- 8:21Well, how can soon mean 40? Dr. Sam Frost brought
- 8:25that up and I was like, yeah, good point. Good
- 8:27point. Yeah, but the thing is, though, I think
- 8:28that it's not talking about it again. We want
- 8:30it all boxed off nicely, don't we? Oh, this is
- 8:32time time. That's a long time. But I think the
- 8:35thing is, when you think about prophetic time,
- 8:38it's it's short as regards the prophetic time
- 8:40period. That was the time period that it was
- 8:43all going to come to a finish. So as regards
- 8:46to what had gone on before, what had been written,
- 8:48that which was so that they were reaping, it
- 8:51was very soon. And you know what? And that's
- 8:54in the timeline of the entire world when he said
- 8:56it's about to be closed. The age of the Messiah
- 8:58is here. He is the one. It's pretty obvious.
- 9:01Yeah, it was soon. But 40 years and soon just
- 9:05doesn't make sense in a modern mindset. It just
- 9:07doesn't. That's the whole point, because at the
- 9:10end of the day, you've got to think totally outside
- 9:12the Greek thinking mindset. And when you don't
- 9:15do that, that's when you end up going through
- 9:18all sorts of hoops and, and, and jumps to get
- 9:21to a situation that you didn't start off on the
- 9:23right premise anyway. That's right. And that's,
- 9:26and you know what? We've learned that even in
- 9:27this book of Job as I segue back to it, because
- 9:30what we've learned is that this book is just
- 9:32comes out of left field. It comes out of left
- 9:35field. It doesn't make any sense really. Um,
- 9:39but the thing that goes back to the fact that
- 9:40he's starting off on the wrong premise. You know
- 9:44and and as the whole thing starts to unfold it
- 9:48starts to dawn on him the more he starts thinking
- 9:51and the more people even in negativity even in
- 9:54bad things even in unkindnesses that are being
- 9:57said to you like you know like the three comforters
- 10:00There's there's even an awareness being given
- 10:03to you even in that You know, it's our not to
- 10:07reason it's how not to see things and sometimes
- 10:10as I say even in that kind of situation You can
- 10:13start to see things because someone's bringing
- 10:15stuff up negatively that you're thinking, oh,
- 10:17hang on a minute. You know, how does that impact
- 10:19me? It's not just positivity, positivity. You
- 10:22know, this is what suffering is all about. It's
- 10:24very negative. It's really about a positive end.
- 10:27It is. And that's why the book is so startling.
- 10:33And yeah, I mean, you can give it simplistic
- 10:35purpose for being in the Bible if you want. It's
- 10:37about God's sovereignty. Sure. It's about suffering.
- 10:41Sure. Um, it's about, you know, a man who realizes
- 10:45that his own righteousness wasn't quite the righteousness
- 10:47of God. Sure. Sounds good. Like all of those
- 10:51are good, but I want to bring up something that
- 10:53we haven't talked about in quite some time about
- 10:56this book. And, you know, I stopped us in Elihu
- 10:59when he was speaking in chapter 36 around verse
- 11:0315 and 16, because he says he delivers the afflicted
- 11:06through affliction. So it's kind of an, uh, it's
- 11:09kind of a wild idea to think about that, but
- 11:12I want, I want you to notice something about
- 11:14this book right out of the gate. Okay. It comes
- 11:18out with the sons of God and Satan going before
- 11:21God and having this conversation about the man.
- 11:24I want you to notice we have, we've went 36 chapters
- 11:29and of those 36, 34 of them don't mention this
- 11:35at all. Just the first two. Don't you think it's
- 11:40kind of weird? Don't you think it just just think
- 11:42about it from a story perspective perspective
- 11:44Don't you think it's kind of weird that the satan
- 11:47character gets the center stage in chapter one
- 11:51and chapter two and then Nothing goes off into
- 11:55oblivion. That's right. Nothing more And as a
- 11:58matter of fact, aliyah is never going to mention
- 12:00him and god doesn't really mention him either
- 12:01he does mention leviathan and stuff later, but
- 12:03But this satan it's not like it goes back to
- 12:06the courtroom and god says see Satan. None of
- 12:11that happens. Okay. So this is the thing is those
- 12:15are we discussing. Don't even know what's going
- 12:16on anyway. Joe never knows this ever in the Bible.
- 12:21Neither do we lie. None of them ever know about
- 12:24that previous setting that happens in the throne
- 12:27room of God. None of them ever know it. So with
- 12:31that being said, the author of this book is giving
- 12:35us this view. that we're supposed to come out
- 12:38with on the end because we have the first two
- 12:40chapters and then we have the last two chapters
- 12:43as well, more than two actually, God speaks.
- 12:46But that last chapter and the first two chapters,
- 12:48they're juxtaposed against each other and the
- 12:50Satan just goes off into oblivion. Now, I think
- 12:53the thing is, again, it's that Satan isn't given
- 12:56that much relevance in the whole thing. The relevance
- 12:58is that it starts and once it started, there's
- 13:02a purpose to it. God knows exactly the end result
- 13:05of it. which is why he gives him that ability
- 13:07to do that. And that's the whole thing. Instead
- 13:10of sort of like crushing Job, in fact, there's
- 13:13an enlightenment brought about to Job and to
- 13:16the comforters and to Elihu. And they get a totally
- 13:19different sense of it at the ending. Yeah. And
- 13:22I want to ask you a question, just a direct question.
- 13:25You know, whenever God asked Satan the first
- 13:27time, he's like, have you considered my servant
- 13:28Job? If Job was the richest man, In the east
- 13:33if he was the most powerful man in the east,
- 13:35don't you think that satan probably considered
- 13:38him? 100 100 I mean again, you know it well,
- 13:43he said didn't you've you've given him everything,
- 13:45you know, you put a hedge around him. You've
- 13:47given me that's it You've put a hedge around
- 13:49him. Yeah, it's as if like well, there's nothing
- 13:52Well, anybody would do that Well, actually well,
- 13:56they didn't do that did they because satan himself
- 13:58didn't even do it Watch this. I'm going to ask
- 14:00you a weird question. Guys, listen to this. This
- 14:02is kind of a weird question. I want to enter
- 14:03into this study with this thought in mind. I
- 14:07want you to imagine that Satan comes before the
- 14:09throne of God and God says, Hey, Satan. I've
- 14:12got to think, Bob. Have you considered my servants
- 14:15Adam and Eve? That's what you said. Yeah. Right
- 14:19there, back there. Yeah. See, I'm not, me and
- 14:21you. level on that thing. Yeah. So, so if you're
- 14:25going, if you go back to the beginning that serpent
- 14:27is given this access to these people, the hedge
- 14:30is taken away. There must have been one to an
- 14:33extent because then all of a sudden it just shows
- 14:35up on the scene. Even if it's a spiritual head,
- 14:37it's a state of being. That's what it is. That's
- 14:42there in a state of being. This hedges around
- 14:44them in a state of being, this spiritual aspect,
- 14:47this connection with God. That is what they're
- 14:49hedged with. I want to point out that like in
- 14:54our modern world people love to give Satan center
- 14:57stage They love to say the devil is doing this
- 15:00the devil makes me do this or whatever I'm not
- 15:03even gonna talk about this from a full predators
- 15:04perspective I'm not even gonna say it like like
- 15:07normal people would think within full predators,
- 15:09which is the devil doesn't do it He's never ever
- 15:13had power unless it was given to him by the father
- 15:15period that's and he much to his own chagrin
- 15:20has been used for his for god's purposes that
- 15:25is definitely happening now when it comes to
- 15:28this story We talked about all kinds of things
- 15:31we said that this is how to become a high priest
- 15:33we've said this is a story of israel i went off
- 15:35on tangents pointing out that a lie who. Not
- 15:38a lot of the three friends elephaz and bill dad
- 15:41and so far all represent. You know these kingdoms
- 15:44like i went into the all these weeds and stuff
- 15:46you know and then we start talking about a lie
- 15:48who is being like a john the badger's character
- 15:50or a prophet class or you know just one of the
- 15:52voices that cry out before god shows up. I still
- 15:56think all of that's accurate. Okay, I do. I think
- 15:59all of it's accurate. But the one thing that
- 16:00I want us to notice today, because we're not
- 16:02going to get into God speaking, that's going
- 16:04to be next week. What we're going to do is we're
- 16:06going to finish out 36 and all of 37. And I want
- 16:09to point out the shift in Elihu himself. I want
- 16:13you to see how he starts getting prepared for
- 16:16God to show up and start talking. And I want
- 16:19you to think about how when John the Baptist
- 16:21is standing in the River Jordan and he's calling
- 16:23all those people, you need to repent. You need
- 16:25to turn from your wicked ways. You need to do
- 16:28right. You know, the axe is laid at the tree.
- 16:30It's at hand. You need to do this. Like he is
- 16:32the one calling. And then suddenly the Christ
- 16:35shows up and he immediately says, wait, hold
- 16:38up. I need to be baptized by you. Okay. So he,
- 16:41he recognizes when, when Jesus's presence comes
- 16:44to John the Baptist, he immediately recognizes
- 16:46this is unique. This is unique. Whenever Jesus's
- 16:49mother walked in on John the Baptist's mother,
- 16:53He realized he was unique even at birth because
- 16:56he was filled with the Holy Spirit from birth
- 16:58and this was a special Person Jesus Christ was
- 17:01a special man. So that's always been the case
- 17:04So when a lie who is talking to job and he's
- 17:06like be careful job What you've done is you've
- 17:10exuded a lot of self -righteousness You've been
- 17:12talking about yourself and why you're righteous
- 17:14and all this But one thing that you haven't done
- 17:15is you haven't defended God and you haven't even
- 17:17talked about really his character as a matter
- 17:19of fact you kind of defamed it and so I'm not
- 17:22saying that you're evil or wicked or unrighteous
- 17:24or that you've sinned. But what I am saying is
- 17:25that you haven't said the right things or you
- 17:27haven't looked at God in a perspective. That's
- 17:30right. Really, you should have done because you're
- 17:32so clouded by the one that you already have.
- 17:35Right. So it is what people tend to be. They've
- 17:38got that right. They've got that path and they
- 17:41don't feel that there's another path to go off
- 17:44into until somebody points out to them. precisely.
- 17:47If you would, Elaine, would you grab your Bible?
- 17:51Your complete Jewish Bible. That's beautiful.
- 17:55Not the common Jewish Bible, like I said last
- 17:56time. And read verse 15 and 16 from chapter 36
- 18:01again. Just read them, and then we're going to
- 18:04read verse 17. I wanted to stop there on purpose
- 18:07last week. So you want 15 and 16. Let's do 15
- 18:12and 16 first, and then we'll roll into 17. God
- 18:17with his affliction delivers the afflicted and
- 18:20he gets their attention by pressing on them.
- 18:23Indeed, Job, he's drawing you away from distress
- 18:27to an untroubled open place with rich food on
- 18:30your table. That's lovely, isn't it? How powerful
- 18:34is that? Beautiful. Can't stop a lovely picture,
- 18:36doesn't it? It does. He delivers the afflicted
- 18:39by their affliction. Yeah. And this is what I'm
- 18:42saying. Sometimes negativity, sometimes oppression.
- 18:45brings about righteous fruits. And that's what
- 18:48God is saying to him, you know, I'm teaching
- 18:50you something through your affliction. Don't
- 18:52turn around and say, what have I done? I haven't
- 18:54done this. I've done that right. I, I, I, I,
- 18:57I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I,
- 19:00I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I,
- 19:00I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I,
- 19:00I, I, I, I, I, I, I, It is and i wanna i wanna
- 19:04point out something that an atheist friend of
- 19:06mine andy bishop said years ago on the podcast
- 19:08he said you know job gets more children and gets
- 19:12all of his riches back in his life into me that's
- 19:14better sugar what about their kids that he loved.
- 19:16And, you know, I remember thinking that that's
- 19:18a really good question. It's a valid question.
- 19:20I can understand the emotion behind it, but there's
- 19:22a truth that lies in this idea here. So he just
- 19:26said that he delivers the afflicted through the
- 19:30affliction, which means that there's collateral
- 19:34damage on your way to a relationship with God.
- 19:39There's collateral damage sometimes. Okay, and
- 19:41I don't I'm not I don't mean like well now your
- 19:43friends ain't your friends because you ain't
- 19:45drinking and whoring with them anymore That's
- 19:47not what I mean. I mean, it can be real man.
- 19:49Like it can get real like death can be part of
- 19:51it Absolutely, there's all kinds of things that
- 19:54can happen and god's at the center of it He knows
- 19:56what's going on and some people get upset with
- 19:58that idea a friend of mine said the other day
- 20:01Well, if that's the way god is then god is evil
- 20:02and I was like, nope Like paul in rooms, he says
- 20:07he said How have you got the right to say to
- 20:10the potter, why did you make me like this? Yeah.
- 20:12Why did you give me this body? Why did you give
- 20:14me this this this this life then? If there's
- 20:17nothing for me. I was just telling Rick Carter
- 20:19yesterday on a phone call. I said, you know what?
- 20:21I said, but there's times when I'm like, yeah,
- 20:24like that's a rhetorical question. Whenever Paul
- 20:26asked that question, like, can can the clay look
- 20:28at the potter and say, why do you make this way?
- 20:30That's that's I mean, of course he can. The silliness
- 20:34of the clay is that clay doesn't speak, but we
- 20:36do. And he made us a speaking clay. Okay, and
- 20:40so and that's that's they are Yes, and that is
- 20:43the point Rick see again what you're doing is
- 20:45elevating. It's it's It's raising yourself above
- 20:49the thoughts of God beautiful. That's exactly
- 20:52what job had done That's exactly what these other
- 20:54men had done and that is not really what a lie
- 20:57who was doing what a lie Who is doing is pointing
- 20:59out what you just said? He's trying to point
- 21:01this out because he's like you guys have missed
- 21:03this all of you All of you have missed this point.
- 21:07It's self -centered though, Rick. That's the
- 21:09point. When you read all of it, it's self -centered.
- 21:12It is. It goes back to Jesus when he turns around
- 21:15and says, Lord, Lord, you know, didn't I do this
- 21:17in your name? Didn't I do that in your name?
- 21:19I, I, I, I, I, Jesus, I never knew you. You were
- 21:22doing it for the wrong reason. That's right.
- 21:24You were doing it. Me, me, me. It's not about
- 21:26you at all. Yeah. And that's exactly right. That's
- 21:31exactly right. Right. and it ties in with what
- 21:33Jesus, when he turns around and says, when I
- 21:35was hungry, you fed me, when I was thirsty. And
- 21:37they said, well, when did we do that? Well, that
- 21:40Christ knows you because you were doing it because
- 21:42you were his, not because you were going, I've
- 21:44done this, I've done that. You were doing it
- 21:46because you were the natural character of Christ
- 21:48coming through. And that's the difference between
- 21:50Job here, I, I, I, Job starting to become aware
- 21:56through Elihu, and then there's a total different
- 21:58idea of it at the end. There's a grasping of
- 22:01it. It's not I, I, I. Yeah. I want to, I want
- 22:05to tell you about a man that Jesus gave an illustration
- 22:08of, which is a perfect illustration of this kind
- 22:11of idea. Okay. So there's this tax collector
- 22:14that goes into the temple and then he's with
- 22:17a Pharisee. You know the story. Yes. And the
- 22:22Pharisee looks at the tax collector and he says
- 22:23to himself, Lord, I'm so glad I'm not like him.
- 22:27I'm glad I tithe a tenth. of my mint -dilling
- 22:31human. I am not like that guy. I'm just so glad.
- 22:35I, I, I, I, I, I, I. And then he said in the
- 22:39tax collector, he couldn't even look up at heaven.
- 22:40He just couldn't even look up. And he beat upon
- 22:43his breast and he said, God have mercy upon me,
- 22:46a sinner. And then he asked the question. That's
- 22:50right. And he said, who rose up justified that
- 22:53day? Right? All right. So it was the tax collector
- 22:56that realized his position to God, his heart
- 22:58posture to God. He just said, you know what?
- 23:01I need mercy from you because you're God. And
- 23:03you know what? He should be. And he's thankful
- 23:05that he does have a merciful God. And that's
- 23:07what Jesus is pointing out is that he is looking
- 23:10at my father. He's not looking at himself. And
- 23:13when he looks at himself, all he sees is that
- 23:15he needs mercy. And my father will give him mercy
- 23:17because he rose up justified that day. Okay.
- 23:20Exactly. Exactly. This is what Elihu is showing
- 23:23you. Elihu is really telling you like how to
- 23:26get to beating on the own breast about yourself
- 23:28and remembering that you need the mercy from
- 23:31the father. Now I want an ear. I want to be able
- 23:34to stand before God and I want to be able to
- 23:36justify myself. Yeah. I'm so glad that I gave
- 23:40that tenth of mint, dill, and cumin. But again,
- 23:43it just shows you, doesn't it? This is the whole
- 23:45thing, isn't it? It's going back to you. I have
- 23:49got to give that 10th, I have got to do this,
- 23:52I have got to fast, I have got to, I, I, I, I,
- 23:57I. But again, when you really have a relationship,
- 24:00and this is the whole point, this is what it
- 24:02hinges on, is it just a doing of something, or
- 24:06do your attitudes and your works and all that
- 24:08you display in your life, do they come because
- 24:11you have a relationship? So it's the relationship
- 24:14that matters, that forges forward all those things
- 24:17that you want to do and desire to do because
- 24:20you love God. It's not about, oh, look what I,
- 24:23I, I, this is what I say to people sometimes.
- 24:25You know, they say, I've done it. And I say,
- 24:26I, I, I, I, I, I. It's not how you do. It's about,
- 24:31it's about God. It's about what's God doing in
- 24:33your life. That's a great point. And so let's
- 24:36go back to John the Baptist real quick again.
- 24:38Because you have to really do a paradigm shift.
- 24:40You've got you've got to get a grasp of what's
- 24:43actually happening in John's time. John is standing
- 24:45in the River Jordan. These people know what this
- 24:47means. This is their crossing place into the
- 24:50promised land. There's also and he's calling
- 24:52for repentance. And by the way, he's doing it
- 24:55and he's calling the scribes and Pharisees the
- 24:58offspring of the Satan character, the offspring
- 25:01of Vipers. Right. You are the children. of the
- 25:05devil, right? And he's saying, you need to, the
- 25:09ax is laid at the tree telling them. So in essence,
- 25:13what he's saying is, is it's all about you, you,
- 25:16you. But what you don't realize is that you're
- 25:18the one that's going to be judged. You bring
- 25:20a lot of judgment, but the reality is, is that
- 25:23you're the one that's going to be judged. You
- 25:24need to repent of this, right? That's really
- 25:28what Elihu is doing. He's bringing out this aspect.
- 25:31Read that next verse. Watch what he says right
- 25:34after. He says about the delivering of the afflicted
- 25:36by their afflictions, and he's allured you out
- 25:38of this distress into a broad place, into this
- 25:41beautiful place, right? And then watch what he
- 25:43says in verse 17. 16? Verse 17. Okay. But the
- 25:49judgment on the wicked applies fully to you.
- 25:52Judgment and condemnation take hold of them.
- 25:56Yeah, now let me read it in the ESV. He says,
- 25:59but you are full of the judgment on the wicked
- 26:01judgment and justice sees you Beware lest wrath
- 26:06entice you into scoffing and letting out the
- 26:09greatness of the ransom turn you aside Notice
- 26:11he mentions the ransom. I'm reading in English
- 26:14Sorry, I went into 18 then I didn't know you
- 26:17wanted me to read 18. No, no, no, no, no, it's
- 26:19okay Beware lest you wrath entice you into scoffing
- 26:23and let not the greatness of the ransom Turn
- 26:26you aside so that ransom remember that ransom
- 26:29we talked about that earlier. He mentions that
- 26:31ransom earlier in this talk so Jesus Christ is
- 26:34gonna die as a ransom for many John the Baptist
- 26:37is the one introducing this man that's coming
- 26:38here that a lie who is that? guy like a lie who
- 26:42is the one that has listened to the Pharisees
- 26:45scoff. He's listened to the Sadducees say there
- 26:49is no resurrection. He's listening to all this.
- 26:52And then he's watched job come from a position
- 26:55of sorry for himself and wanting the ear of God
- 26:59to saying, okay, very carefully job. I need you
- 27:04to watch out because you need to repent because
- 27:08what you're doing is you've let this judgment
- 27:11seize you. You've gotten on the other side of
- 27:14this. This is what you have. You've missed the
- 27:16point of the ransom. You've missed the point
- 27:19of the affliction. You've missed the reason for
- 27:22the affliction and you've missed the reasoner
- 27:24of it. So we keep saying that over and over and
- 27:27over, but it's important to note that this theme
- 27:30always happens in the Bible. The people forget.
- 27:36The people go on about life and life does what
- 27:39life does and it's almost like they forgot It's
- 27:41almost like they need to be woken awakened. Sorry
- 27:44awakened up to it That's what had to happen to
- 27:48me when I went through all of that death and
- 27:50grief and the hardships of the business stuff
- 27:53It woke me up. Like I wasn't even thinking about
- 27:57like I love the Lord and I serve the Lord and
- 27:59I do all this Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's great.
- 28:01I I I I I I Am I right, Elaine? Exactly. Aye,
- 28:08aye, aye, aye, aye. I love the Lord and I serve
- 28:09the Lord. Aye, aye, aye, aye. Wrong. Hold on
- 28:12a minute. You've forgotten something about me.
- 28:15You've forgotten that I am here. I'm the one
- 28:19to charge this. All of those things that you
- 28:21put your hope in, that you've reasoned in your
- 28:24mind like, well, I've built this. Look at all
- 28:26that I've built. Rick Welch, good job. You've
- 28:29made a $10 million a year company. I'm so proud
- 28:31of you. Watch this. Boom! Remember what he said
- 28:34to the man who built the two, you know, the big
- 28:37grateries? Yeah, the barns. And he's like, okay,
- 28:40I've got it all set. And he was like, you idiot.
- 28:43Today, your life is taken from you. What? See,
- 28:47Jesus shows us all of these different lessons
- 28:49about the relationship to the Father. it does
- 28:53but then again it's all again but it's like jesus
- 28:55when he turns around and says the father will
- 28:57prune you you will be pruned like i said last
- 28:59week or last time that we spoke about it you
- 29:01know sometimes like you you you're heavily laden
- 29:04with fruit you think you've got it all the father
- 29:06comes along and says right now i'm moving you
- 29:08on to the next level bang boom hang on a minute
- 29:11i was i was like i was really looking quite good
- 29:14then you can't go on and chop me back but you
- 29:17don't get a stronger bigger more fruitage tree
- 29:20unless you do cut it back when it's at its best.
- 29:24And that's the point. Yes. Thank you. Because
- 29:28that's exactly what's going to happen to Job
- 29:30later. Yes. But guys, he's being pruned. He's
- 29:32being pulled back. He's being reminded of something.
- 29:36You were saying in your heart, perhaps my children
- 29:39don't know God in their heart, when in reality,
- 29:43he didn't. Or is he turning around saying like
- 29:47Satan's really picked the wrong moment? Because
- 29:49like he says, Haven't you given him everything?
- 29:52Haven't you done all this and he got that? And
- 29:54he's thinking, yeah, I'm going to prune him right
- 29:56back now. And he's going to become bigger, stronger,
- 29:59more fully laden with fruit. And Satan's fallen
- 30:02right into the trap of God because through affliction,
- 30:05you learned righteousness and God's mercy. You
- 30:10don't yeah, and then and then to cap it all off.
- 30:14He never mentions the Satan again It is the perfect
- 30:18book. It's like it's so good Guys, if you only
- 30:22can grasp just how good this book is. It's so
- 30:25good Alright, let's keep moving on Elaine if
- 30:29you would if you are you willing to read the
- 30:30rest of the chapter? So you heard what we said
- 30:32of a read verse 18 again from your complete Jewish
- 30:36Bible and let's go through The rest of the verses
- 30:38down to verse 33, okay It says for beware of
- 30:42Roth when abundance entices you don't let a big
- 30:46bribe turn you aside Will your great wealth help
- 30:49you or all your efforts no matter how strong?
- 30:53Don't desire the night when people suddenly die
- 30:56Be careful. Turn away from wrongdoing. For because
- 31:00of this, you have been tested by affliction.
- 31:04Look, God is exalted in his strength. Who is
- 31:07a teacher like him? Who ever prescribed his course
- 31:10for him? Who ever said, what are you doing is
- 31:13wrong? Remember rather to magnify his work, of
- 31:18which many have sung. Everyone has seen it, but
- 31:22humans see it only from a distance. Look. God
- 31:26is great. Beyond what we can know, the number
- 31:30of his years is uncountable. He makes the droplets
- 31:34of water which condense into rain from his mist.
- 31:37The clouds pour it down upon humankind in abundance.
- 31:41Can anyone fathom the spreading of the clouds
- 31:43or the crashes that come from his canopy? See
- 31:47how he scatters his lightning over it and covers
- 31:49the roots of the sea. By these things he judges
- 31:53the people. and also gives food in plenty. He
- 31:57gathers the lightning into his hands and commands
- 32:00it to strike the target. It's crashing, announces
- 32:04its presence, and apprises the cattle of what
- 32:07he's coming. Well, Cherry, they mentioned those
- 32:10cows chewing again. How about that? There they
- 32:13go. It's coming up for another chew. So do you
- 32:18remember last week, guys, when I was like, you
- 32:20know, I think that he's seeing the storm early.
- 32:23Like I think he's noticing the rumbling off in
- 32:25the distance. So in the ancient world a Thunderstorm
- 32:30and you better get up in that tent or climb up
- 32:31in a clit in a cave Okay, you don't just stand
- 32:33out there like yeah, I love it. It's a scary
- 32:36thing All right, so but when he says behold verse
- 32:4022 Behold God is exalted in power. I literally
- 32:45think that as he's speaking that he's starting
- 32:49to feel the drops of rain He's hearing the thundering
- 32:53peals of the storm that's coming across I know
- 32:56he is because when you get to chapter 38 God
- 32:59speaks from this thing So I know that at this
- 33:03point he's seeing it and you know what so is
- 33:05John the Baptist? John the Baptist when he's
- 33:09born into the world he's born into one of the
- 33:11most tumultuous times This is a time whenever
- 33:14Herod who is an Edumian is at the height of his
- 33:17power and that's not good He's an Edomite This
- 33:21is the time when Rome has taken over and everything
- 33:24is a mess. The scribes, the Pharisees, the Sadducees.
- 33:28They're all corrupt. They're all corrupt. The
- 33:31people are burdened. Like life is an absolute
- 33:34crap show. I mean, it is, it is often he's born
- 33:36into this world. Okay. I mean, it seems very
- 33:39interesting where it says that don't let a big
- 33:41bribe turn your side. Well, when you look at
- 33:43in Jesus day, if they're all the, all the religious
- 33:45leaders have taken bribes. Oh, absolutely. The
- 33:48scribes were writing iniquitous decrees and devouring
- 33:51widows' houses, Jesus said. They absolutely were
- 33:54doing it. Yeah. There was a point I was going
- 33:57to say, oh, it's interesting that when you talk
- 33:59about John the Baptist going down and then Christ
- 34:01coming towards them. And this was the time really
- 34:03where, you know, the rubber hit the road, as
- 34:05you Americans would say. And it's interesting
- 34:08where it says he gathers the lightning into his
- 34:10hands. He commands it to strike the target. its
- 34:12crushings announces its presence and apprises
- 34:15the cattle of what is coming. Now the high priest
- 34:17at the bottom of his garments used to have bells
- 34:20and pomegranates. The bells and the pomegranates
- 34:23signified lightning and thunder. That isn't interesting.
- 34:28If you talk about Christ now is the one that's
- 34:30coming and this is sort of like a precursor to
- 34:33that and we're reading that into it. Well Christ
- 34:35is the lightning, he is the thunder. You can
- 34:38only go to Revelation and it'll tell you that
- 34:40out of that the lightning and the thunder comes
- 34:43voices. And this is the whole thing. Once again,
- 34:46it's this poetic language that is carried right
- 34:48the way through the Bible in not only this poetry,
- 34:51but also in symbols, in things that they would
- 34:53have worn, would have put on. They all mean something.
- 34:57And the Bible is being tied together, you know,
- 34:59and it's so wonderful. Again, when he went down
- 35:01into the Jordan, like you said, that's where
- 35:03they crossed. But when he went down into the
- 35:05Jordan, you remember that when they crossed,
- 35:07it said the river got stopped from Adam. down
- 35:10to the Dead Sea. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, from Adam
- 35:13to the Dead Sea. Oh, it's incredibly sort of
- 35:15like amazing, isn't it? You know, yeah, it's
- 35:17interesting. Well, you've got this just those
- 35:21words that that place called Adam, which is interesting,
- 35:24you know, just the play on words that works with
- 35:26that. Exactly. And this is the crossing. This
- 35:28is the part where you enter into the whole year
- 35:30by this man that's coming down. He's the thunder
- 35:32and the lightning. That's right. Mm hmm. Yeah.
- 35:35So And so later on, you know, in Jesus's ministry,
- 35:39he'll do things with storms. Yeah, he'll sleep
- 35:42during them. He will pause them. He will. His
- 35:47disciples will fear like the storm is going to
- 35:49take our life. You know, and you're back there
- 35:52just to sleep and man, like, what's this all
- 35:55about? We're paling for our life. He's like,
- 35:58exactly what he talks about as the lightning
- 36:00hits the sky from one side to the other. Lightning.
- 36:03Again, it's this lighting up. It's like this
- 36:06presence. You're going to be able to see it.
- 36:09It's this brilliant light, you know? The whole
- 36:13thing is wonderful. I think what's amazing, and
- 36:16I think what's amazing too in the story of Job,
- 36:20is let's just be real, okay? If this really actually
- 36:23happened and it's not just some allegory, then
- 36:26I want you to notice that Job actually gets a
- 36:30visitation. Okay, and a lie who recognizes that
- 36:34this man's getting ready to get an invitation.
- 36:37And I think a lie who recognizes the holiness
- 36:41of God better than all four of them in front
- 36:44of him. He's not demanding that God get there.
- 36:48He knows God's coming and he can feel it. And
- 36:51it's so important that he comes and it's gonna
- 36:54be so important that he must decrease so that
- 36:57God will increase. You won't hear another word
- 37:00out of him when it's done. Once he's done talking,
- 37:02it's over, okay? Just like you won't hear another
- 37:05word out of the Satan. There comes a time in
- 37:10the story where God's gonna deal with his people.
- 37:13And when he deals with them, it's one -on -one.
- 37:16And it is holy ground. Take those sandals off,
- 37:18Moses. Exactly. Because you and I are talking
- 37:21and where you're standing is on holy ground.
- 37:23Yeah. Okay? I mean, it's like you said about,
- 37:25you know, like... And like you said, the axe
- 37:27is already laid at the root of the trees. Yes.
- 37:30These were individual trees. These people were
- 37:33likened to trees by John the baptizer. That's
- 37:37right. So again, it's showing you again how God
- 37:41viewed the nation of Israel as these plants,
- 37:44as these trees, as these ones that would be chopped
- 37:47down at the roots. Nothing left. That's right.
- 37:50Again, it's just understanding. Not being pruned.
- 37:54Not being pruned. no cut down cut down thrown
- 37:58into the fire that's right all right so as he
- 38:03goes through here you know uh verse 23 who is
- 38:07prescribed for him his way or who can say you
- 38:09have done wrong remember job is like god's done
- 38:13evil to me all right verse 24 remember to extol
- 38:16his work of which men have sung think about all
- 38:19the times people have sung about what god has
- 38:21done right in the scriptures all of the psalms
- 38:23that have been written about him Mankind is looked
- 38:26on, and man beholds it from afar. Behold, God
- 38:28is great, and we know him not, and number of
- 38:31his years is unsearchable. I think he's looking
- 38:33off in the distance, and it's like, when here
- 38:35he comes, he's like, here he comes. Look, God
- 38:38is great. You can't think about how unsearchable
- 38:42are his ways. He is the holy of holies. He's
- 38:47the Almighty. You don't just go to him and talk
- 38:50to him, dude. Like, stop. Like, not the way you're
- 38:53doing. Aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 38:58aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 38:59aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 38:59aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 38:59aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 38:59aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 39:00aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 39:01aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 39:01aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 39:01aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye,
- 39:01aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, You know,
- 39:15how can you say that to God? You know, God can
- 39:17do anything he chooses and we know that God is
- 39:20a righteous God. We know that his years are uncountable.
- 39:23I mean, how can you sort of sit there and turn
- 39:25around and say, well, actually, I'm afraid you're
- 39:28wrong, Father. I'm afraid you're wrong, God.
- 39:30No, that doesn't work. Well, I mean, like he
- 39:33says that he sits in the heavens and laughs.
- 39:36Right. You know, he sure does. So I'm one, isn't
- 39:40it? He sits in the heavens and laughs. You know,
- 39:42I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna do that. Aye,
- 39:44aye, aye, aye, again. Aye, aye, aye, aye. Oh,
- 39:46aye, aye, aye. Exactly. So guys, if you would
- 39:51turn over to chapter 37 and only read the first
- 39:53two verses. I want to show you something unique
- 39:56about Elihu. We've already talked a little bit
- 39:57about it, but I want you to notice something
- 39:58about Elihu. At this, my own heart trembles and
- 40:04leaps out of its place. Just listen to the rumblings
- 40:07of his voice, to the thunder. that comes out
- 40:10of his mouth. Yeah. So what does he take about
- 40:13his own heart? What did Elihu just say? He's
- 40:17like, you know what? My heart trembles. I'm trembling.
- 40:21The thought of God, you like this, aren't you?
- 40:23What does Paul tell a Christian to do whenever
- 40:26they become a believer? Work out your own salvation
- 40:29through fear and trembling. So what is trembling
- 40:33exactly? What is Elihu doing that we need to
- 40:38be doing? Okay, so there comes this understanding
- 40:42of not only just awe and reverence but the fear
- 40:45of God like the total to Understand like when
- 40:49he's watching a thunderstorm all of us We have
- 40:52these meteorologists that can tell us what's
- 40:54gonna happen and they get it wrong most of the
- 40:55time But they don't think of it like oh, it's
- 40:58a God, you know, that's coming on a storm Right
- 41:00the cloud rider like bail. We don't think like
- 41:03that anymore. That's not the world We're in but
- 41:06it was the world that he was in And that was
- 41:08how they were perceiving what God was doing.
- 41:11And Elihu was like, you know what, when I hear
- 41:13that thunder, my heart melts like wax in my chest.
- 41:17Exactly. That's what you need to be towards God,
- 41:21towards God. Your heart needs to melt like wax.
- 41:25Well, I mean, you think of it, when they were
- 41:26at the foot of the Sinai, when God came down
- 41:30with the smoke and the noise and that, it says
- 41:32that they were just trembling, the knees were
- 41:34knocking, they were just like, we can't cope.
- 41:36You imagine, I mean, I know when I hear a thunderstorm
- 41:40over the top goes bang and my window shape. I
- 41:43mean, you just think to yourself, my word, Lord,
- 41:45that is just I can't even say a fraction because
- 41:48that would even be too big. Right. That is God's
- 41:51power and awesome nature. That is what he is.
- 41:55So to magnify that in an unsearchable amount,
- 41:59I can't even fathom how grand and majestic he
- 42:03is. I can't. And we're just defining mankind
- 42:05on this little tiny speck of dust in the middle
- 42:08of a gigantic universe that we have been able
- 42:12to perceive. We've been able to perceive the
- 42:14best we can as we look out. We're a speck. Guys
- 42:18and and so we're just we're just defining God's
- 42:21power through a thunderstorm You can imagine
- 42:24God's actual immensity and power, but that's
- 42:27the point of the heart The heart needs to be
- 42:30in that posture towards God. It doesn't demand
- 42:32of God You can approach the when you approach
- 42:36the throne boldly He doesn't mean come to it
- 42:38like a smart alec like you go. God's gonna do
- 42:40what I say now That's not the boldness that it's
- 42:43talking about You can come to him boldly as a
- 42:46son, because he's granted you access as a son.
- 42:49But you still respect him with great awe and
- 42:52reverence. You're still going to kneel. Yes.
- 42:55Every tongue will confess, and every knee shall
- 42:58bow. Yeah. Everyone. I mean, it's interesting,
- 43:01even in like the royal family. I mean, I know
- 43:05that's like me, but the royal family, even the
- 43:08son and the daughter has to curtsy and bow, even
- 43:13if they're just going in to speak to their mother
- 43:16or their father, they have to do that. It's showing
- 43:20that reverence and awe to the position that they
- 43:23have. And if you do that to an earthly person,
- 43:28how much more so when we approach our father,
- 43:32that also is our God. And that's the same thing,
- 43:36you know, he's our King. So we approach him with
- 43:40great joy, with great connection. But there's
- 43:43still this awe and reverence for him. And there
- 43:46are times I must admit that I do enter and I
- 43:48enter a bit sort of like, you know, skipping
- 43:50and jumping and not really giving that sort of
- 43:53credence to the fact that he's that awesome and
- 43:56majestic. And I think that's the beauty of the
- 43:58relationship. Look, look, he also understands
- 44:01that we're his children. He also understands
- 44:03that we are just we're made of clay. He's not
- 44:06unaware of that. But it's also important. That's
- 44:08fine. But when people say, yeah, I'm a big friend
- 44:11upstairs and they say it that way. I'm like,
- 44:13you're not. I don't think you quite got it. Actually,
- 44:16I don't think Prince William would be saying
- 44:18that to his dad. No, no. And I think when people
- 44:22say that, you know, you know, me and Jesus, we
- 44:24we pals, man. Yeah, we roll together. I'm like,
- 44:29I don't think you quite got it. I don't think
- 44:31you quite got it. Like, I understand the vernacular,
- 44:34but I just think you're missing the heart posture.
- 44:36Yeah, I'm not judging you. I'm not. I know you
- 44:40want - Isn't it like that though, Rick? There
- 44:42are times when, and I know that all of us that
- 44:44are listening to this have that, that I'm speaking
- 44:46to him and I am just compelled to get on my knees.
- 44:49I'm compelled to get on my knees. Where I could
- 44:52be in the kitchen, stirring something, I'm compelled
- 44:54to get on my knees because I'm aware who I'm
- 44:56talking to. All of a sudden it's hit me who I'm
- 44:59speaking to and I need to get on my knees to
- 45:01show him that this is the posture that I have
- 45:05towards him. That's right. I love how I come
- 45:06to him as a daddy. But I still recognize that
- 45:09authority that he has because he is my God. Yes.
- 45:14My daddy. You nailed it on the head. And that's
- 45:16what that guys, if you can just get a grasp of
- 45:19Elihu being that voice in the wilderness, that
- 45:22one that's crying out, he's about in this chapter
- 45:25in L .A. I want you to read the rest of it. We're
- 45:26going to go all the way through verse 24 with
- 45:28just guys. I want you to notice that what he's
- 45:30doing is he's actually proclaiming God's majesty.
- 45:34And that's it. Uh, read it from verse three all
- 45:37the way out. Just read the rest of the way. So
- 45:39he's going to talk a lot about creation. He's
- 45:41going to talk a lot about chapter 37, chapter
- 45:4337, starting in verse three. You've already read
- 45:45verse one and two. He says he sends it out under
- 45:49all of heaven. He's lightning to the ends of
- 45:51the earth. There follows a sound, a roar. He
- 45:55is thundering with his majestic voice and he
- 45:58keeps releasing the lightning even while his
- 46:01voice is being heard. God thunders wonderfully
- 46:04with his voice. He does great things beyond our
- 46:07understanding. He says to the snow, fall on the
- 46:10earth, likewise to the light rain, also to the
- 46:14downpour. He brings all human activity to a stop
- 46:17so that everyone he has made can know it. Then
- 46:22the animals go into their lairs and hibernate
- 46:25in their dens. Out of its chamber comes the storm
- 46:29with cold out of the north. By the breath of
- 46:32God, ice is given, and the wide waters freeze
- 46:35over. He weighs the clouds down with moisture,
- 46:39and they flash forth His lightning. He, by His
- 46:42plans, turns them around, so they do what He
- 46:46commands them anywhere on earth. He brings them
- 46:49forth on the earth, sometimes to punish, sometimes
- 46:53to express His grace. Listen to this, Job. Stop
- 46:57and consider God's wonders. Do you know how God
- 47:01puts them in his place? How he causes lightning
- 47:04to flash from his cloud? Do you know how he balances
- 47:07the clouds? These are marbles of him who knows
- 47:10everything. You sweltering in your clothing as
- 47:14the earth lies still under the sultry south wind.
- 47:17Can you with him spread out the sky hard as cast
- 47:21metal mirror? Teach us what we should tell him
- 47:25for the darkness keeps us from organizing our
- 47:28case. Is he to be told that I will speak? Can
- 47:32a man speak at all when he is already swallowed
- 47:34up? Now people don't see the light which is brought
- 47:37by the sky, but then the wind blows and clears
- 47:41the clouds away. Out of the North comes a golden
- 47:44glow, fearsome majesty surrounding God, Shaddai
- 47:48whom we cannot find, whose power is immense in
- 47:52his great righteousness. That does not pervert
- 47:55justice. This is why people fear him. He does
- 47:59not confuse. Oh, so he does not consider those
- 48:02who think of themselves as wise. Sorry about
- 48:06that. My words say here, therefore men fear him.
- 48:09He does not regard any who are wise in their
- 48:12own consent. Yeah, it's the same thing. Aye -aye
- 48:17-aye So so alright, so he's talking about the
- 48:20majesty of God, but he's doing it with creation
- 48:22He's pointing out things like the clouds when
- 48:24he talks about that hard mirror, you know of
- 48:27the sky that he makes So I want to point something
- 48:30out because there's a lot of people a lot of
- 48:32modern thinkers a lot of scientists a lot of
- 48:34people that like to look at this book and it's
- 48:37poetry guys and that's what it's about and You
- 48:39know a lie who is this ancient man? He's pointing
- 48:42out that these storms, you know, that's what
- 48:43ancient dudes do Guys, God never changed, okay?
- 48:50God brings the storms. God is in control of our
- 48:53weather. God is in control of the spinning of
- 48:55the earth and that hard metal mirror that is
- 48:57out there that we call the sky. God is still
- 49:00that God. He is in that creation. Yes, and Elihu
- 49:04points it out. But the Bible uses these words
- 49:07also as symbols of things. He's pointing out
- 49:12certain aspects of God. In his creation when
- 49:16god makes this thing he's showing things about
- 49:19himself and that's what a lie who is really pointing
- 49:22out right now he's like. When you see the snow
- 49:25fall i want you to know that you can't do anything
- 49:27about it guess what maybe some people are weather
- 49:30creators and they're trying to do stuff today
- 49:31manipulate weather and i know some people believe
- 49:33that maybe they are maybe maybe people are doing
- 49:35that but guess what they can't control it the
- 49:38whole way they can't stop it. They can't stop
- 49:41it. They can start it again. We don't want to
- 49:43say what the God has allowed that to happen.
- 49:45Yeah, but you can, if you want to, that's what
- 49:47you want to say. Weather manipulation. They're
- 49:49not bringing in the South wind that brings in
- 49:50the cold. They're not creating snow storms. They
- 49:54might be putting stuff in your snow. That's creating
- 49:56weird snowfall and you can set it on fire. I've
- 50:00seen that in Kentucky. That's nuts. But, but
- 50:04the point is they might be manipulating weather,
- 50:06but weather was already here. They're just manipulating
- 50:08something that was already here. Okay. God is
- 50:11still the God of gods. He is still the most powerful.
- 50:14He's still worthy of our adoration and praise.
- 50:18A hundred percent. All right. I just like it
- 50:20where it says in verse 16, these are marbles
- 50:22of him who knows everything. Yeah. And that's
- 50:27yes. And guys, Elihu is not wrong. He's not.
- 50:34He's not perfectly right either. He doesn't have
- 50:37to be. He can be like John the Baptist. He doesn't
- 50:39have to know everything. He just has to do what
- 50:42he's supposed to do. Because God follows up after
- 50:46Elihu and speaks from that storm. Exactly. But
- 50:49everything he's saying though, it's a bit like
- 50:52when Jesus said, keep your eyes simple. He's
- 50:55pointing out really things that are very simple
- 50:58to understand and to acknowledge and see. But
- 51:02he's pointing them out in such a way that it's
- 51:05bringing you to your realization of actually,
- 51:08I can't do that. Actually, I don't know where
- 51:11that comes from. Actually, I don't know where
- 51:13it's going. Yes, it does come from the sky and
- 51:17it does go into the ground. It does water the
- 51:20plants and they do grow because of it. Can I
- 51:22do that? No. These are very simple things. I
- 51:25mean, Joe's put across a very human argument.
- 51:28It's very human. But here the simplicity of it
- 51:32like you it's just pointing to the things that
- 51:34they are probably just taking for granted But
- 51:37it's only when it's brought to your attention
- 51:39that you start thinking. Oh my gosh, that's quite
- 51:42simple really Mm -hmm. That's quite easy to understand
- 51:45all these things that job has been saying quite
- 51:48right But they they've been but they're not right
- 51:52in the sense of towards God Mm -hmm. He's trying
- 51:55to justify himself by looking himself But here
- 51:59Elihu's pointed to the very things. Look outside
- 52:02of yourself, Joe. What do you see? And I'm pointing
- 52:06out very simple things here. And that's, I think,
- 52:08what Christ is saying. Keep your eyes simple.
- 52:11Just focus on God. If you focus on God, you've
- 52:14got it made, you've cracked it. But we don't.
- 52:19Other little things come in the periphery and
- 52:21we start having a little glance, you know, and
- 52:23that's where Christ will pluck it out if that
- 52:25happens. And this is what's happening to Job
- 52:28here. He's having an awful lot of stuff clucked
- 52:30out. And then his eye is being created simple.
- 52:36And that's the whole point. He's quite simple.
- 52:40Yeah, absolutely. And do me a favor, turn over
- 52:42to the next chapter. I just want you to read
- 52:45the first two verses and then we're going to
- 52:46go back to 37 because I want to point something
- 52:48out. But read the first two verses of the next
- 52:51chapter, because this is where we're heading
- 52:53next week, guys. We're about to finish this study.
- 52:56This is amazing. It's hard to believe that we
- 52:58have literally got this far Elaine, but we have
- 53:01we're about to wrap this study up It's baby.
- 53:03No, maybe two more two more sessions max and
- 53:07we're done, you know We might even do like a
- 53:09two -hour special and just close the book out
- 53:12actually rather than spread it out over weeks
- 53:14Yeah. All right, so read those next two verses
- 53:17right so then add and I answered job out of the
- 53:21storm Who is this darkening my plans with his
- 53:25ignorant words? Stand up like a man embrace yourself.
- 53:30I will ask questions and you Give the answers.
- 53:35Oh, I mean, can you imagine that? Can you imagine
- 53:38God saying that to you? Oh my god, even that
- 53:41need that even saying that and applying it to
- 53:43yourself is like There's some things I better
- 53:45sort of like start taking my thinking Now, let's
- 53:50point out the fact that God doesn't say a word
- 53:52to Elihu. Elihu's already there. Now listen,
- 53:58in the KJV, the King James version, I want you
- 54:00to listen closely. I love how it puts it. In
- 54:04verse two. Who is this that darkness counseled
- 54:08by words without knowledge? Gird up now, thy
- 54:12loins. That's verse three. Yep, gird up now thy
- 54:16loins like a man for I will demand of thee and
- 54:19answer that me He didn't say it to the three
- 54:21friends and he's sitting to do it certainly didn't
- 54:22say it to a lie Who a lie who had already girded
- 54:25up his loins? I want you to know that he's already
- 54:28looking off in the distance He's seeing the lightning
- 54:30and the thunder and it's coming and he's feeling
- 54:31the rain. It's getting closer feeling the wind
- 54:34He's like yeah the very fact that god said to
- 54:38him gird up your loins i mean when you gird it
- 54:40up your loins you put the back end of your garb
- 54:42around from the back put it in the front tucked
- 54:44it in because you're ready for action this is
- 54:46right there's a bit of action it's getting ready
- 54:48to go into battle he's like getting ready i'm
- 54:51getting ready to stop your you know what so yeah
- 54:55exactly i will ask questions and you give the
- 54:58answers oh my god can you imagine god saying
- 55:00that i mean immediately i'd say you've won You
- 55:03know what, when I was a little boy, somebody
- 55:06shared the gospel with me at the church and I
- 55:08was not afraid. It wasn't a scary situation.
- 55:12But I remember when I heard his voice, I knew
- 55:14exactly who I was. I knew it immediately. And
- 55:18there was a reverence and an awe. And I was thankful
- 55:21for the love and the grace that was being given
- 55:23to me. But I knew who I was in his sight. Even
- 55:26as a 10 year old little boy, I recognized it.
- 55:28And if you're a 50 year old now like me, and
- 55:32you still don't feel that way, then you... Are
- 55:34you not 51, Rick? I'm 51. I just turned 51. You
- 55:38said 50, you're old man. Well, I'm in my 50s,
- 55:41but you're right. I'm also... I'm sorry to pull
- 55:44you up, bro. You go ahead and do that. I haven't
- 55:46told anybody how old you are, and I never will
- 55:49because I value my life. Now, listen, so Elihu
- 55:55was right. That's the point I just want to say
- 55:59at the end of this study today. Aliyah was right.
- 56:02Aliyah understood... I don't know whether we
- 56:05can say Aliyah was right. I think Aliyah was
- 56:07pointing out God in what he was saying and that's
- 56:12what he was doing. He was. Turn to John chapter
- 56:1512. Turn to John chapter 12 really quick because
- 56:18you're right. You are right, but I want to say
- 56:21this simultaneously with what you're about to
- 56:24say. You and I are always on the same stinking...
- 56:27I don't know how we do it. It's so crazy. Yeah,
- 56:30well we haven't rehearsed any of it, have we?
- 56:33No, if you go to John chapter 12, and if you
- 56:38remember, so in John chapter 11 he raises Lazarus
- 56:41from the dead, then the Pharisees and scribes
- 56:43want to kill Lazarus because he's famous all
- 56:46of a sudden and they're upset with Jesus about
- 56:48all this stuff. This is after the resurrection,
- 56:51okay? And let's see. All right, I want you to
- 56:57read, let me read it. I'm reading out the King
- 56:59James Version. John chapter 12 verse 23. Listen
- 57:01to this. Jesus answers then saying, the hour
- 57:04has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.
- 57:07Now this is after the resurrection of Lazarus,
- 57:09okay? Verily, verily, I say unto you, except
- 57:11a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die,
- 57:13it abideth alone, but if it die, it bringeth
- 57:15forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall
- 57:19lose it, and he that hateth his life in this
- 57:22world shall keep it unto life eternal. Notice
- 57:26he said love at this life shall lose it and he
- 57:28that hated his life in this world He didn't say
- 57:32hate his life hate his life in this world Shall
- 57:35keep it unto a life eternal if any man served
- 57:38me let him follow me and where I am there shall
- 57:40also my servant be if any man served me him will
- 57:43my father honor now is my soul trouble and what
- 57:46shall I say father save me from this hour but
- 57:50for this cause came I unto this hour Father glorify
- 57:54thy name then came there a voice from heaven
- 57:57Saying I have both glorified it and will glorify
- 57:59it again the people therefore that stood by and
- 58:02heard it said that it thundered Mm -hmm and others
- 58:06said an angel spake to him Jesus answered and
- 58:09said this voice came not because of me, but for
- 58:11your sakes Now is the judgment of this world
- 58:15now shall the prince of this world be cast out
- 58:17remember that Satan guy Remember the one I said
- 58:20the job doesn't mention Listen with you listen
- 58:23with Jesus says whenever the storm clouds speaks
- 58:26when they think that it's thunder I want you
- 58:28to notice what Jesus says Now is the judgment
- 58:31of this world now shall the prince of this world
- 58:33be cast out And I if I be lifted up from the
- 58:37earth will draw all men unto me now That he's
- 58:43talking about drawing unto him John chapter 3
- 58:44when he talks to Nicodemus. That's exactly what
- 58:46he says has to happen The son of man has to be
- 58:49lifted up like the serpent was lifted up in the
- 58:50wilderness and they went it out and they started
- 58:52worshiping that ash or a pole later. That was
- 58:55destroyed. But when I'm lifted up, all men will
- 58:59be drawn into me and that prince of that world
- 59:02is going to be cast out. And he says, if you
- 59:04hate your life in this world, for my sake, then
- 59:07you will go into life eternal. OK. Job is doing
- 59:12the same thing. Guys job job is doing the same
- 59:16thing. It's just on a microcosm level It's showing
- 59:19it's like super zoomed out and you're looking
- 59:22down at this little store and God's about to
- 59:25speak now. He doesn't just say I Have glorified
- 59:29it and I will glorify it. He's getting ready
- 59:30to go for four chapters Hammering job and job
- 59:33has to glared up his loins. You know, guess what
- 59:35guys? Jesus is always girded away already girded
- 59:39up his loins because Jesus is going to cast this
- 59:43devil out. And you know how he's going to do
- 59:45it? He's going to die on a cross through the
- 59:49ultimate suffering. And right before it, he's
- 59:51going to ask God to take that cup from him. But
- 59:53God won't. But that's what a true servant of
- 59:56God does. So when he says, glorify your son,
- 1:00:01God speaks from an only people with a hard heart,
- 1:00:04in my opinion, who don't believe in who he is,
- 1:00:07hear thunder. But others are like, well, wait,
- 1:00:10I heard God in that. Exactly, exactly. The thing
- 1:00:14for me is though, Rick, with that one he says
- 1:00:15about, save me from this hour, I don't think
- 1:00:18he's asking God to save him from that hour. He
- 1:00:20says, now I am in turmoil. What can I say? Father,
- 1:00:24save me from this hour? Yeah, he's not asking
- 1:00:27God to save him. He's saying it in a hypothetical
- 1:00:29rhetorical way. He's like, no, I was made for
- 1:00:32this. Absolutely, absolutely. And that's the
- 1:00:36whole thing. Again, he talks about, like you
- 1:00:38said, being lifted up in the wilderness, as a
- 1:00:41serpent. Look at this. And again, the serpents
- 1:00:43were biting. And who did he call snakes and vipers?
- 1:00:46He called the religious leaders. So he says the
- 1:00:49religious leaders are biting you with false doctrine.
- 1:00:52You need to look to me when I'm lifted up. That's
- 1:00:56exactly what Job's friends are doing. That's
- 1:00:58what Job's friends are doing and that's what
- 1:01:00Eli who was pointing out about Job's friends
- 1:01:02He's angry with them at the first chapter when
- 1:01:03he speaks then he goes to Job afterwards, right?
- 1:01:07So Christ I think a lie who is both a John the
- 1:01:11Baptist and like you said a Christ figure Pointing
- 1:01:14out God who's gonna speak from that because it's
- 1:01:16not Jesus that's speaking from the cloud It's
- 1:01:18the father the Bible says that so Jesus in his
- 1:01:21man form and the father there's a distinction
- 1:01:23being made here I'm not saying be anti -trinitarian.
- 1:01:27I am a trinitarian. That's not what I mean. I'm
- 1:01:30saying in this state, this position, the storm
- 1:01:34cloud speaks. Elihu is like a John the Baptist.
- 1:01:39He's telling Job, get ready. But then when God
- 1:01:43comes in, he's like, you better get ready. Like
- 1:01:45now I'm here. Now I'm here and it's getting ready
- 1:01:48to happen. So you know what? Let's do this. Let's
- 1:01:50do this, Elaine. Let's close here. And I'll just
- 1:01:53go ahead and say this. today. Elaine, let's do
- 1:01:57a two -hour special and close out the Job study
- 1:01:59once and for all. We're going to go through the
- 1:02:02last chapters of this book and we're going to
- 1:02:04talk about what God says, then we're going to
- 1:02:07tie it up with a little tiny bow, and then I'm
- 1:02:10going to tell you that I've been working on a
- 1:02:12book of our study That we will release i don't
- 1:02:16think i'll have it ready by arkansas i'm gonna
- 1:02:18try elaine i'm gonna try to have it completed
- 1:02:20i have to send you the manuscript because mine
- 1:02:23and your name is gonna be on it together but
- 1:02:25it's from the words that we've said in the study
- 1:02:27and i hopefully i'll have the book ready. It's
- 1:02:31called how to become a high priest so far unless
- 1:02:34elaine doesn't like that title and then she can
- 1:02:35change it because she's fifty percent of this
- 1:02:37baby. So, whatever. Exactly. I love the way he
- 1:02:42turns around and says, I've entitled it this,
- 1:02:44this, unless Elaine doesn't. No, I wasn't even
- 1:02:46considered at all in the beginning. Oh, she didn't
- 1:02:49even know I was making a book. Actually, I think
- 1:02:50I told you I did work. Of course I know that
- 1:02:51you were doing that. You knew that part. Of course
- 1:02:54I did. But it's not just going to be, so the
- 1:02:57book isn't just like our words transliterated
- 1:03:02or transcribed onto a piece of paper like, you
- 1:03:05know, Gary DeMar and Kim Burgess did for the
- 1:03:07hope of Israel and the nations. This is going
- 1:03:09to be about what we spoke about and what we've
- 1:03:11come to understand about the book and the whole
- 1:03:14kind of the whole story. And so there's going
- 1:03:15to be some interesting, fun chapters. But I think
- 1:03:18that it's going to be a good guide. And my hope
- 1:03:21is that it's something that you can use for people
- 1:03:23who are dealing with grief, dealing with hardship.
- 1:03:26and show like how you can build a community around
- 1:03:29you and how you can have brothers and sisters
- 1:03:32even when you live in Spain and you're all alone
- 1:03:35or you live in the mountains of Western North
- 1:03:36Carolina after Hurricane Helene and everything
- 1:03:39has been going to hell in a handbasket and you
- 1:03:41can just reach it out hoping for people and you
- 1:03:43find them and then you also you know, it's about
- 1:03:46the ideas that that God made this world in a
- 1:03:52specific way and how Certain aspects of our lives
- 1:03:56are being used to bring us and draw us closer
- 1:03:59into a relationship with Almighty God And it's
- 1:04:01not just talk it's real it actually happens and
- 1:04:04he's done it with me and he's done it with Elaine
- 1:04:06And he's done it with some of you that have watched
- 1:04:09Absolutely. So yeah, we're gonna have a two -hour
- 1:04:12finale You know after we finish I think I'm gonna
- 1:04:17do a live Q &A with with Elaine's Do you say
- 1:04:22it again? Aye, aye, aye. I think I'm going to
- 1:04:25do it. Aye, aye, aye. Aye, aye, aye. Well, let's
- 1:04:28tell you what. Well, let me say it like this.
- 1:04:29Elaine, watch this. Elaine, I want you to set
- 1:04:32up that technology for me. I can't set that technology
- 1:04:36up. Aye, aye, aye. I can't do it, but I'm humbled
- 1:04:39that I can't do it. No, no, listen. We, I think
- 1:04:43that you and I should do a live Q &A. We need
- 1:04:48to pick a day that everybody could join us. Maybe
- 1:04:51it could be a Sunday early afternoon, like after
- 1:04:56church, but before a nighttime service or something,
- 1:04:58we can actually just sit down and talk to people.
- 1:05:00Well, as I say, for my brothers and sisters,
- 1:05:06I will stay up like till one in the morning if
- 1:05:09they can do it at seven at night or six at night.
- 1:05:11It'd be midnight for me. That's not a problem.
- 1:05:16I'm very thankful that we're closing out like
- 1:05:19Jobe. I'm very excited that we've stayed the
- 1:05:22course and got it done. I hope that you guys
- 1:05:24have enjoyed it as much as I have, but we are
- 1:05:27very excited about our next study. We've talked
- 1:05:30a little bit about it. We'll announce it. Maybe
- 1:05:33you and I, Elaine, once we finalize exactly what
- 1:05:35it is that we're doing, we can announce it on
- 1:05:37our finale. and then do a live Q &A about this
- 1:05:42book or anything. If anybody just wants to come
- 1:05:44on and share things about their life or and you
- 1:05:46guys can be invited on like, you know, if you
- 1:05:49want, we can have a zoom. We can do whatever.
- 1:05:51But I love all of you that have been here along
- 1:05:54the way, even if I hadn't heard from you in a
- 1:05:56while. Laurie Stone, Tracy Ferguson, Heather
- 1:05:59Ross, Tony Driver, Alan and Dina Thompson, Cherry,
- 1:06:04Chris Olson, Justin Nichols. There's been so
- 1:06:07many people, and if I didn't name your name,
- 1:06:09I'm sorry. So many of you guys. I'm sorry. Yeah,
- 1:06:15like Full Metal Preterist, Full Metal Preterist,
- 1:06:18Context Key, my friend Dawson Wylop and them
- 1:06:21guys, you know, Cheryl, Bobby and Cheryl Huddle.
- 1:06:27Just all of you, Patricia, you guys that are
- 1:06:30out in Texas, Eric O'Shea, Karen, all of you.
- 1:06:34that have been kinda in and out, poking in and
- 1:06:37out, out of this thing. And my darling friend
- 1:06:40in England, Karen, she listens. Karen, Karen,
- 1:06:44is her last name Grey? No. Oh. Well somebody
- 1:06:48named Karen had responded on something here on
- 1:06:51Patreon, maybe that was your friend, I don't
- 1:06:53know. No, no, her name's not Grey. Well, it wasn't
- 1:06:56Karen Grey, it was just some Karen person. But
- 1:06:59anyway, regardless, maybe I'll get to meet her
- 1:07:01when I'm in Spain at Christmas. You can come
- 1:07:04anytime. Christmas in Spain, we normally have
- 1:07:07Christmas in England. That's where I'm going.
- 1:07:09I want to go to England at Christmas, but I want
- 1:07:11to pop over to Spain to visit you. Absolutely.
- 1:07:14You can go whenever you like. Good. You're coming
- 1:07:17in August. Everybody that's coming to the Arkansas
- 1:07:20conference, you're going to get to meet Elaine
- 1:07:21in person. Do you know what? We've been looking
- 1:07:23into that. We're trying to find out, I think
- 1:07:25that I can go from Alicante to Lisbon, like Portugal,
- 1:07:28and then get a connecting flight to Charlotte.
- 1:07:31Because otherwise I'm gonna have to get a flight
- 1:07:33from Alicante to Madrid then go from Madrid to
- 1:07:36Charlotte Which is a totally not a waste of time
- 1:07:38But if you come to Charlotte, that would be a
- 1:07:40good thing because then pause if it's on a weekend
- 1:07:42Perhaps if you fly in on a Saturday, then we
- 1:07:45could go me Well, apparently that's supposed
- 1:07:46to be a really rubbish time to fly in it's best
- 1:07:49to fly in on a weekday like a Tuesday or Wednesday
- 1:07:51Well, apparently it's a rubbish time to fly into
- 1:07:54Charlotte ever. That's my worst It's one of the
- 1:07:57biggest airports in the world. I can't stand
- 1:07:59it. I hate that airport I get stuck. Yeah, you
- 1:08:03can fly into Asheville from Charlotte. You can
- 1:08:05just do a little changeover and fly directly
- 1:08:06to my house. I'm literally 10 minutes from here.
- 1:08:12Charlotte's only about an hour and a half from
- 1:08:13you, isn't it? It is. Yeah, but you said isn't
- 1:08:17there an airport close? Bend up your loins and
- 1:08:22drive down here and get me. Let me ask you questions
- 1:08:26and you can answer. Anyway guys thanks for watching
- 1:08:29us all along we're going to do a two -hour finale
- 1:08:31hopefully next week we'll get it done and then
- 1:08:34we'll do with Elaine's permission a live Q &A
- 1:08:38as well as we'll talk about the book a little
- 1:08:39bit more. Elaine and I actually have to have
- 1:08:41a nice talk about the book we haven't talked
- 1:08:42about it in a couple of months but we need to
- 1:08:44talk about it. It's almost done and I got to
- 1:08:47get it typeset and get ready for printing. And
- 1:08:49hopefully I can have that done before the Arkansas
- 1:08:51Conference. That will be wonderful. Again, for
- 1:08:56me as well, I mean, the link that, you know,
- 1:08:59looking at Job yourself, you don't get what we've
- 1:09:03got out of it, you know, when you link it with
- 1:09:05so many other scriptures, and you sort of like
- 1:09:08the mindset that you have, like in the New Testament
- 1:09:12with the apostles, the disciples and that you
- 1:09:14can just see the whole thing come into life.
- 1:09:17And it's amazing to, you know, all of us together
- 1:09:21have sort of been on this ride. And it really
- 1:09:25has been enlightening for me too. I think that
- 1:09:27should be something we should read every morning
- 1:09:29before we start our day. You know, stand up like
- 1:09:32a man, brace yourself, I'll ask you questions
- 1:09:34and you give me the answers. That's precursing.
- 1:09:37The things that we might actually do wrong during
- 1:09:39the day that we might have I'm telling you right
- 1:09:41now Like i'd be like whoops Whose door did I
- 1:09:47knock on? I think we should have that made up
- 1:09:50as a fridge magnet. Yeah gird up your loins and
- 1:09:54take it like a man Exactly. Yeah, and i'll ask
- 1:09:57you questions, right? All right. Well, we'll
- 1:09:59be back next week guys. Thanks for listening.
- 1:10:01Please leave your comments We love all of you.
- 1:10:04We do those of you who haven't heard or listened
- 1:10:06in a while, if you want to comment at the very
- 1:10:09end, then just do it. We're glad you're here.
- 1:10:11Even if you comment a month from now, but just
- 1:10:13so you know, we're not doing another recording
- 1:10:14after that one. We're done. We're done with Job.
- 1:10:17We'll probably talk about it again. We were done
- 1:10:20with going through Job, but I think it won't
- 1:10:22ever be done. We'll never be done with what we
- 1:10:24learned from Job, but we're going to be done
- 1:10:25with the study, the way in which we've been doing
- 1:10:27it. So lots of love to everybody. God bless you,
- 1:10:32Elaine. God bless you. We love you all. Thank
- 1:10:33you so much. God bless. God bless. That's her
- 1:10:48span, you're coming out in her. See? God bless
- 1:10:51you guys.
