- 1:34Speaker 1: Now, after the whiplash of an episode that is episode one,
- 1:39Speaker 1: we do really settle in here. The entire time I
- 1:42Speaker 1: was watching episode one, I was thinking this must have
- 1:45Speaker 1: been an absolute beast to edit. Yeah, but I do
- 1:50Speaker 1: like that we kind of settle in. We dive in.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And episode two is the Hill Family. Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I am really excited that they're doing it this way
- 1:58Speaker 2: because I don't know if I could have hung no
- 2:02Speaker 2: chaotic back and forth with every family.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Let's start with a synopsis of the Hill family.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Sure. While home for the holidays, Josh is sanctioned with
- 2:13Speaker 2: community service by an old high school connection sheriff Nora
- 2:17Speaker 2: after some driving infractions on ornament and duty. During his
- 2:22Speaker 2: community service, he bonds with Nora's son THEO.
- 2:27Speaker 1: We're gonna do some news and notes for this episode.
- 2:29Speaker 1: This series was created by Claudia Grazioso and directed by
- 2:34Speaker 1: Stacy en Harding.
- 2:37Speaker 2: This episode was written by Brianna Brown and Grant Charbo.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Aaron K. Hill stars as Nora Jacobs. We recently saw
- 2:45Speaker 1: Aaron and Ottom at Apple Hill. She was also back
- 2:49Speaker 1: in her role as Lizzie. On Deck the Halls on
- 2:52Speaker 1: Cherry Lane on Hallmark Plus this holiday season.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Ian Harding stars as Josh Hill, being recently starred in
- 3:00Speaker 2: the Magic of Lemon Drops. This past summer, he was
- 3:04Speaker 2: not in a Hallmark Christmas movie, but did star opposite
- 3:08Speaker 2: Lindsay Lohan in Our Little Secret on Netflix. Ian has
- 3:13Speaker 2: also been tapped to play Nate in the forthcoming Hallmark
- 3:16Speaker 2: Plus series Ripple. Noomi guns Always plays Gabby Camerana. Miomi
- 3:21Speaker 2: is not new to Hallmark, as she previously appeared in
- 3:23Speaker 2: the twenty twenty two Christmas movie Undercover Holiday. Outside of Hallmark,
- 3:27Speaker 2: she's been in sixty five episodes of the daytime soap
- 3:29Speaker 2: The and the Restless, and she had a recurring role
- 3:33Speaker 2: on Selena. The series. Nasneine Contractor plays girlfriend Stacy. We
- 3:39Speaker 2: last saw Nascine in Love on the Danube Love Song
- 3:43Speaker 2: on Hallmark Plus. She will star as Niela in the
- 3:46Speaker 2: next installment of The Love Club slated for twenty twenty five.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I'm thinking this might be a Hallmark Plus project.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Sebastian Billingsley Rodriguez plays Theo Jacobs. This young actor has
- 3:58Speaker 1: twenty two acting credits and he has been in Frozen
- 4:02Speaker 1: in Love when Calls the Heart and Christmas on My
- 4:05Speaker 1: Mind he is. He also starred in the theatrical holiday
- 4:10Speaker 1: release The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. He's so cute.
- 4:17Speaker 2: You know, I notoriously don't like children either. I this
- 4:20Speaker 2: kid was so cute. Oh theo Gwyneth Wals She plays
- 4:25Speaker 2: Josh's mom. She has a whopping one hundred and thirty
- 4:28Speaker 2: four acting credits. You might recognize her as Joe Ellen
- 4:31Speaker 2: in Virgin River, but she's also got a ton of
- 4:33Speaker 2: Hallmark movies on her resume.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Barry Levy plays Dad Sam Hill, another seasoned actor with
- 4:39Speaker 1: tons of Hallmark credits, including The Up. Another seasoned actor
- 4:43Speaker 1: with tons of Hallmark credits, including Leah's Perfect Gift from
- 4:48Speaker 1: This Countdown to Christmas Season. Finally, Bj Harrison stars as
- 4:54Speaker 1: Missus Kaiser, and she's no stranger to Hallmark though. Justice
- 4:59Speaker 1: for Bj she needs bigger roles. We last saw her
- 5:02Speaker 1: in Crimetime Prefall and Stilled with a list Before that,
- 5:05Speaker 1: she has one hundred and forty three acting credits. Additional
- 5:09Speaker 1: actors include Tusca Bagoo as Missus McConkey, Susan McFarlane as Ruth,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and Willis Taylor as the ornament judge in a Justice
- 5:17Speaker 1: Fore moment, Wendy gets her wish. This episode does open.
- 5:21Speaker 2: He did Bill Family. Yes, thankful. I'm glad that they
- 5:29Speaker 2: did it, but they needed to do it in episode
- 5:31Speaker 2: one as well.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's kind of only happening because
- 5:34Speaker 1: it's the title of the episode. Unfortunately, you might be
- 5:37Speaker 1: right this This episode opens with Josh and Stacy on
- 5:41Speaker 1: the phone, and we learn that, I mean we knew,
- 5:44Speaker 1: but we learned that Stacy is played by Nosney Contractor.
- 5:48Speaker 1: When I saw her, I went, oh no, because I
- 5:50Speaker 1: already I can see the setup. You know, We've got
- 5:53Speaker 1: Stacey versus Anora, And I was like, I don't want
- 5:55Speaker 1: to root against Madney Contractor.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Oh I don't either, but her character Stacey is, oh yeah,
- 6:01Speaker 2: the absolute worst. It's actually I'm glad, like it's it's
- 6:11Speaker 2: refreshing to get women. And am I actually really saying this.
- 6:15Speaker 2: It's refreshing to get women in characters that are not likable.
- 6:19Speaker 1: You wanted to root against her, it was fun for you.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I wanted to. I'm rooting for Josh and Norah. Sure,
- 6:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I don't know.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I look, it's I it's she does a great job
- 6:32Speaker 1: playing this terrible woman. I will say that I agree,
- 6:35Speaker 1: I agree, and we learn how terrible she is because
- 6:38Speaker 1: he's like, I got community service and she's like, I
- 6:40Speaker 1: g g af man, Let's talk about the business.
- 6:44Speaker 2: She's like, I don't care, let's get talking about business.
- 6:47Speaker 2: And it was so funny too because he he even
- 6:50Speaker 2: questions her, like because she says something about like, oh,
- 6:54Speaker 2: you need to remember like our love for career, and
- 6:57Speaker 2: he's like, what about our love like between each other?
- 7:01Speaker 2: And she's like yeah, yeah, yeah, Like she's all bizz indeed.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So Josh goes downstairs for breakfast and do you know
- 7:09Speaker 1: anybody who gives a gift? And then is like, hey,
- 7:12Speaker 1: where's that sweater I gave you? Are you wearing those
- 7:15Speaker 1: that bracelet? I about, like, do you know people that
- 7:17Speaker 1: are like that?
- 7:18Speaker 2: No? But I'm always worried about it though, Oh well
- 7:21Speaker 2: I do know people who are like that. And I'm like,
- 7:22Speaker 2: I couldn't possibly wear every single thing that you gave
- 7:25Speaker 2: me in this moment actually in my mind, like if
- 7:28Speaker 2: I give you a gift, that it's done.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I don't need to hear about it. I don't need
- 7:32Speaker 1: to see it. Like if you love it, great, if
- 7:33Speaker 1: you don't, fine, like the transaction is over. But I
- 7:38Speaker 1: did think it made me think of that when Josh
- 7:39Speaker 1: is like, where's that blender?
- 7:40Speaker 2: I got you?
- 7:41Speaker 1: And they're like, huh yeah, but mom and dad have
- 7:45Speaker 1: taken away the car keys because Josh has proven himself
- 7:48Speaker 1: not to be a responsible driver within his first forty
- 7:51Speaker 1: eight hours home.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Okay, I have questions here. Josh arrived in his own car.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Where is that? Oh?
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 7:58Speaker 2: Why does he need the car keys to his parents' car?
- 8:01Speaker 3: Now?
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I forgot about that. What's the story there?
- 8:05Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Did we miss it in the chaos of the first episode.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Does he maybe arrive in like an uber?
- 8:10Speaker 2: No, because he's driving the car when he's texting, he's
- 8:14Speaker 2: in his own car. It's like a BMW. When he
- 8:16Speaker 2: gets pulled over for the first time, Oh, I thought
- 8:18Speaker 2: he was in his dad's car when he was texting. No,
- 8:21Speaker 2: he crashed his dad's car. I could be wrong, but
- 8:25Speaker 2: and maybe it was an uber.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 8:27Speaker 2: It must just be an It must have been an uber.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I thought. I thought he showed up in his own vehicle,
- 8:32Speaker 2: and I thought he got pulled over initially in his
- 8:34Speaker 2: own vehicle.
- 8:35Speaker 1: The only reason. I think maybe he was in his
- 8:37Speaker 1: dad's car in both so they were like, you've already
- 8:39Speaker 1: gotten a ticket and crushed our car, So that may not.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Of course that makes sense for the story now, but
- 8:45Speaker 2: like I don't. I would have to go back and
- 8:47Speaker 2: rewatch it, and I just simply don't have the time.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Of course, I do want to comment. Right here is
- 8:52Speaker 1: where we get like the holiday's title card, and there's
- 8:57Speaker 1: like a shattering ornament and I kind of love it.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah, to me, it's just to reinforce your holidays are
- 9:03Speaker 2: not going to be pretty and picturesque as you had
- 9:07Speaker 2: hoped indeed, and then it's like shattered ornament.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Whatever Josh is daddy drives into community service. You're like, oh,
- 9:17Speaker 1: this is so embarrassing, and I'm kind of like, is
- 9:18Speaker 1: it really though? Like you're home visiting, you don't have
- 9:20Speaker 1: your own car, Like you're not seventeen years old getting
- 9:23Speaker 1: driven around by your parents.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It's okay, look here now again, like, of course he's
- 9:27Speaker 2: not going to have his own car because he's going
- 9:29Speaker 2: to sit me in like yes, the next two days.
- 9:31Speaker 2: So it must have been an uber that dropped him
- 9:33Speaker 2: off at first. Okay, I stand corrected he like.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Walks into the community service and he's like on his phone,
- 9:40Speaker 1: of course, and he's late and he's like, it's only
- 9:43Speaker 1: two minutes.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Well, okay, First, first of all, the phone conversation, he's
- 9:48Speaker 2: talking about like money being transferred and wired and it's
- 9:51Speaker 2: a gift, and like if you're not paying that close attention,
- 9:54Speaker 2: you think he's just working. But this is going to
- 9:56Speaker 2: come into play a little bit later, like this conversation
- 9:59Speaker 2: that he's having on the phone, and then he is
- 10:02Speaker 2: scolded for being late, and I'm wondering.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I'm like, is is he a douchebag or is he
- 10:07Speaker 1: just misunderstood in these scenarios.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Or a little bit of both?
- 10:11Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe both. I don't know.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Look, I'm team Josh. That's spoiler alert me too.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Side note as well, community service you are, this is.
- 10:23Speaker 1: A ridiculous community service. Come decorate a tree? So dumb?
- 10:28Speaker 1: Also those trees are decorated. Also, why does it take
- 10:31Speaker 1: so many days? Like why do you show back up?
- 10:32Speaker 1: Like it doesn't take that long to decorate a tree?
- 10:34Speaker 1: Why are we doing this for days and days? On?
- 10:36Speaker 4: End?
- 10:37Speaker 1: Okay, beef over, of course Norah and Josh are they're
- 10:40Speaker 1: working on their ornaments, Norah and THEO. Josh kind of
- 10:45Speaker 1: sucks at tree trimming, and so he sees THEO and Nora.
- 10:49Speaker 1: They're also at the holiday stroll prep that's what this
- 10:52Speaker 1: place is called, right, holiday stroll, and he goes over
- 10:56Speaker 1: to help THEO out with his ornament because they're bros.
- 10:59Speaker 1: They buy over their lego building experiment. Is there no
- 11:04Speaker 1: crime in this town? Or like, I don't she's everywhere
- 11:09Speaker 1: and not working a lot.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You had the thought, you didn't say the thought out loud.
- 11:14Speaker 1: The sheriff is everywhere, she's super sheriff apparently.
- 11:18Speaker 2: How is she at Like I don't get it, Like
- 11:21Speaker 2: how is she at this community event? But then she's
- 11:26Speaker 2: like pulling everybody over for tickets. She's everywhere, She's everywhere,
- 11:30Speaker 2: and she doesn't appear to have help with her son.
- 11:32Speaker 2: So what's going on? Don not a good question. So
- 11:36Speaker 2: THEO is really disappointed here and Josh, because THEO has
- 11:39Speaker 2: all these big ideas about how he wants to make
- 11:42Speaker 2: this ornament right, and Josh as like an architect or
- 11:45Speaker 2: an artist or whatever, like he's not fulfilling theo's like wishes,
- 11:51Speaker 2: and so Theo's like, you guys, need to go to
- 11:53Speaker 2: the art store, so he convinces his mom to take
- 11:57Speaker 2: Josh to the art store, and while en route, they
- 11:59Speaker 2: have to stop at BJ Harrison's house, who is a
- 12:02Speaker 2: former teacher of theirs. And when Josh learns that it's
- 12:07Speaker 2: a teacher that they're stopping at, he's got beef with
- 12:10Speaker 2: this teacher because this teacher gave him a bad grade
- 12:12Speaker 2: at one point in his high school career. And he's
- 12:15Speaker 2: like kind of having a moment about it, and Norah's like,
- 12:19Speaker 2: you're gonna stay in the car and locks him in
- 12:21Speaker 2: the car, which I think is really funny because look,
- 12:23Speaker 2: he's in the backseat behind the light.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Yeah, like a perp.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I don't know how he gets out, but he gets
- 12:31Speaker 2: out of the car and he comes to the door
- 12:33Speaker 2: and then like he exchanges words. He goes this made
- 12:36Speaker 2: me laugh out loud. He confronts and I'm calling your
- 12:39Speaker 2: BJ Harrison because that is her name in real life.
- 12:41Speaker 2: I can't remember her teacher name is. Anyway, he confronts
- 12:44Speaker 2: her about the bad grade and he goes, Hi, it's
- 12:47Speaker 2: me Josh Hill, class of twenty ten and twenty ten.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I laughed out loud.
- 12:52Speaker 2: This would make Josh thirty two years old today and
- 12:57Speaker 2: Ian Harden is thirty eight. But I'm in my class
- 13:00Speaker 2: of twenty ten. I graduated in nineteen ninety three. I
- 13:03Speaker 2: was feeling real old in this moment. Yeah, my youngest
- 13:07Speaker 2: child was born in twenty ten. But then again, I
- 13:13Speaker 2: was like, dude, you've been out of high school for
- 13:15Speaker 2: how long you were harboring these like feelings because you
- 13:18Speaker 2: brought this f it ties up nicely in the end,
- 13:22Speaker 2: like we understand like why she failed him, We'll get.
- 13:26Speaker 1: To it, but I it just was really funny.
- 13:30Speaker 2: In the next scene, we see Josh kind of make
- 13:33Speaker 2: a dig at Nora's life because Nora is at bj
- 13:36Speaker 2: Harrison's house.
- 13:37Speaker 1: She was called there.
- 13:38Speaker 2: She's fixing something, and like Josh makes like this dick
- 13:41Speaker 2: at her, and like she let him know immediately that
- 13:45Speaker 2: it wasn't cool. And I was like, good for her,
- 13:48Speaker 2: good for Norah.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yes, set those damn boundaries.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah. So then we head back to the community center
- 13:55Speaker 2: explaining what kind of ornament he wants, and I love,
- 13:58Speaker 2: like we have this child led using his words so
- 14:03Speaker 2: well to describe how he wants his ornament to feel,
- 14:08Speaker 2: and I just love that Josh is like all.
- 14:10Speaker 1: In on helping him win the ornament.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Competition, which kind of feels like classic hall Mark in
- 14:16Speaker 2: the sense of we have an ornament competition and like,
- 14:21Speaker 2: what are we gonna do to win it? And this
- 14:23Speaker 2: is the whole thing of the episode. It's really not,
- 14:27Speaker 2: but it is. So It's It's a nice through line
- 14:32Speaker 2: written in this episode that I really liked. Anyway, I
- 14:35Speaker 2: think here we have the problem is is that Josh
- 14:38Speaker 2: is so literal with things and he can't understand Theo's descriptions.
- 14:44Speaker 2: But they end it on such a positive little note,
- 14:46Speaker 2: Like it's such a nice, little like teachable moment here
- 14:50Speaker 2: where Josh extends his hand and he's like, we always
- 14:54Speaker 2: end every meeting on like a positive and whatever. It
- 14:58Speaker 2: was cute. It was like a dad move.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Yeah, he really is giving dad vibes. And it's so
- 15:04Speaker 1: I really I just love Little Theo. I'm like, don't
- 15:06Speaker 1: hurt Little Theo because Theo's like pure vibes. He's like,
- 15:10Speaker 1: I can I can see it and Josh is like
- 15:13Speaker 1: I cannot see it. And I just love like his
- 15:16Speaker 1: little child brain trying to make this this ornament come
- 15:20Speaker 1: to life. Mm hmm.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:22Speaker 1: It was good.
- 15:24Speaker 2: So in the next scene. And this is where I think, like,
- 15:28Speaker 2: if this was on linear, this would have been a
- 15:30Speaker 2: commercial break here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Because the next scene
- 15:35Speaker 2: is THEO and Nora are in the car and they
- 15:38Speaker 2: see Josh walking home and like, THEO can't have that.
- 15:41Speaker 2: He's worried that Josh is gonna get hurt or get
- 15:46Speaker 2: in trouble or get i don't know, mugged walking home.
- 15:50Speaker 2: He's like, it's not safe, Let's pick him up. So
- 15:53Speaker 2: they bring they bring Josh back to their house and
- 15:57Speaker 2: it's a really sweet, sweet this whole exchange here, Like
- 16:02Speaker 2: Josh is reading a book to THEO and they're sharing
- 16:05Speaker 2: like these really sweet moments. And then and it's time
- 16:09Speaker 2: for THEO to go to bed, and he wants a
- 16:10Speaker 2: hug before bed, and he calls Josh out on his
- 16:13Speaker 2: less than great hug, and then he gives him his
- 16:17Speaker 2: like necklace, which was something like his dad gave him,
- 16:20Speaker 2: like to keep the bad dreams away. Yeah, this was
- 16:24Speaker 2: all so sweet, and I feel so bad for this
- 16:26Speaker 2: little boy. I was like, oh, he needs a father
- 16:29Speaker 2: figure in his life. I know, but then we'll we'll
- 16:34Speaker 2: get there. But like I it all blems very nicely
- 16:38Speaker 2: in the end. I feel So after THEO goes to bed,
- 16:42Speaker 2: they're talking about how THEO about Theo's criticism about Josh's hug,
- 16:48Speaker 2: and Norah gives Josh a lecture on how to hug
- 16:52Speaker 2: and they do it like She's like, no, this is how,
- 16:54Speaker 2: this is how you hug. And this moment is so good.
- 16:58Speaker 2: It's so sweet, both of their expressions because the way
- 17:02Speaker 2: that the director shot it, like you got to see
- 17:04Speaker 2: both their expressions during this hug and like something like
- 17:08Speaker 2: they both needed and wanted. I loved it well.
- 17:12Speaker 1: And I also think it's very telling because if you
- 17:14Speaker 1: go back to Theo's description of what he wanted from
- 17:16Speaker 1: the ornament, like he wants the ornament to feel like
- 17:18Speaker 1: a hug and Josh doesn't get it, and I think
- 17:22Speaker 1: it's like this is the moment where he's like, oh,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I'm understanding, like the light star feeling here like I'm
- 17:29Speaker 1: thawing because I'm getting my first warm hug.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I mean, this whole episode really is like what job.
- 17:37Speaker 2: This should be titled like what Josh learns? You know
- 17:40Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 17:40Speaker 4: Yes, like I said, he was kind of like do
- 17:43Speaker 4: she at the beginning, but like truly misunderstood too and
- 17:48Speaker 4: maybe just didn't have the knowledge on these things.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, when she's like you need to match the pressure
- 17:53Speaker 1: of the hug. Uh ah good.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Now earlier we did mention Gabby. She's not a part
- 17:59Speaker 2: of these families, but she is a friend of Nora,
- 18:02Speaker 2: and she shows up and catches them hugging, and she
- 18:05Speaker 2: has like this good little laugh about it, like she's like, oh,
- 18:09Speaker 2: what did I walk in on here? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 2: I thought that was great.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Anyway, we do go back community service, and this goes
- 18:15Speaker 1: back to like my earlier thought. I'm like, how long
- 18:17Speaker 1: does it take, like decorate those trees and move along people?
- 18:20Speaker 1: And you know, those old ladies are gonna have this
- 18:22Speaker 1: place ship shape, like they're retired, their kids are gone.
- 18:25Speaker 1: They would have had those trees decorated boom boom boom totally.
- 18:29Speaker 1: And I had to wonder.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I was like, these people are crafting, how is this
- 18:32Speaker 2: community service? Like community service should entail, I don't know,
- 18:36Speaker 2: removing graffiti, picking up trash, yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Or he should be like setting up the trash cans
- 18:41Speaker 1: on the holiday stroll, or like hauling out all the
- 18:45Speaker 1: snack items, not like decorating a tree, Like he needs
- 18:48Speaker 1: to be doing the grunt work.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Yeah, this is kind of a joke of community service.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I agree, And in even more kind of a joke,
- 18:56Speaker 1: he's not really doing community service. He's just hanging out
- 18:58Speaker 1: with THEO and they can't get it together. So Theo's like,
- 19:03Speaker 1: let's go to the fair. We need some inspiration.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:07Speaker 2: I thought this whole scene was really cute, Like I
- 19:09Speaker 2: loved the bontage of it, all of them like playing
- 19:12Speaker 2: games and you know, having fun and whatever. And there
- 19:17Speaker 2: was a really nice scene between Josh and Nora about
- 19:24Speaker 2: him being in a jerk in high school. Yeah, but
- 19:27Speaker 2: he he admits to her that he really did like her,
- 19:31Speaker 2: but at the time, like he just fell to peer
- 19:33Speaker 2: pressure and couldn't explain to his friends like oh, I
- 19:37Speaker 2: like I like this girl, even she's not part of
- 19:40Speaker 2: our you know.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Crew or whatever. They touched on it very lightly, they
- 19:44Speaker 1: almost like let it go. But it if you flash
- 19:47Speaker 1: back to Christmas with the Things, there's like a similar
- 19:50Speaker 1: moment where those two characters were so different in high
- 19:54Speaker 1: school and the friends are like, what are you doing here?
- 19:57Speaker 1: And I was like, people can grow and change from
- 19:59Speaker 1: their high school personas.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's ah, that's so with you and I
- 20:05Speaker 2: having children, who are in high school, Like, I wish
- 20:09Speaker 2: they would get that perspective earlier, that it doesn't matter
- 20:12Speaker 2: who you hang out with. If you like somebody who's
- 20:16Speaker 2: different from you, it's okay.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, don't let your friend group dictate all of
- 20:23Speaker 1: your interactions. Totally. Yeah, agree. And he's also real sweet
- 20:30Speaker 1: about I think you mentioned this, but he's like, you're
- 20:31Speaker 1: doing a good job, like you raised a cool kid,
- 20:35Speaker 1: and that's such a nice compliment. And then in comes
- 20:41Speaker 1: means Stacy means Stacy.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Awkward, awkward meeting between Stacy and Nora a carnival.
- 20:50Speaker 1: And Stacy is like not sensing the tone here, and
- 20:54Speaker 1: she just like THEO comes in. He's like who are
- 20:58Speaker 1: you and she's like, I'm his girlfriend and bye. We
- 21:01Speaker 1: are leaving for Australia, and poor Theo is heartbroken because
- 21:07Speaker 1: they haven't finished their ornament. Josh is not fulfilling I
- 21:12Speaker 1: wouldn't say his promise, but you know, they had started
- 21:15Speaker 1: this project and they're not gonna finish it. And Nora
- 21:18Speaker 1: steps in because you know, Josh is like, no, I
- 21:21Speaker 1: want to finish my time and she's like, I got it.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It's fine, go do your thing. Yeah, Nora did I
- 21:26Speaker 1: rescue here. I think she could see since that her
- 21:30Speaker 1: sweet boy was heartbroken. Yes, she just wants to move along.
- 21:34Speaker 1: And Stacy says, oh, you must be glad that's over
- 21:37Speaker 1: with and.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Gross, Stacy sucks.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Stacy sucks. In another talk about not sensing the vibe,
- 21:46Speaker 1: Josh and Stacy present his parents with a gift, which
- 21:50Speaker 1: is a key to a home in a retirement community.
- 21:53Speaker 1: And would anybody ever buy their parents a home? Sight unseen?
- 21:59Speaker 1: And this is why I can see it happening with you.
- 22:02Speaker 1: They've never discussed it. These people appear to be in
- 22:05Speaker 1: very good health, the very happy with the life they live.
- 22:08Speaker 1: And you're just gonna be like, man, you're old, get out.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Well. It's funny because he the dad even said like
- 22:14Speaker 2: we're fine right now and Stacy, Stacy, not your place, babe.
- 22:17Speaker 2: But she's like, uh, but for the future, like you're
- 22:20Speaker 2: going to need assistance. I was like, step off, you're
- 22:23Speaker 2: not even married, Like, get out of here.
- 22:26Speaker 1: And he's like some she says like, oh, well, someday
- 22:29Speaker 1: you're gonna need help, and she's like someday is not now.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Yeah. I love that.
- 22:33Speaker 1: And I think if we swing back to your point
- 22:37Speaker 1: about like Josh is trying to like take care of
- 22:39Speaker 1: his parents. I think you could definitely paint this scene
- 22:43Speaker 1: with that brush. He's he's feeling like, I'm leaving, I
- 22:46Speaker 1: want my parents to be set up. I'm maybe feeling
- 22:48Speaker 1: a little bit guilty that I'm taking off, and so
- 22:51Speaker 1: what can I do to make sure they're taken care of?
- 22:53Speaker 1: And in his mind this is what he's doing. He's
- 22:56Speaker 1: just going about it incorrectly.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 22:59Speaker 3: See.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I was like in his little like it's not called
- 23:02Speaker 2: a tepee when it.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Is it called his little tent?
- 23:05Speaker 2: No? Yeah, he's in his little tent in his room
- 23:07Speaker 2: and he's like so sad that Josh isn't with them,
- 23:11Speaker 2: and apparently it's Christmas Eve. And I was like, oh,
- 23:13Speaker 2: wait a minute, Okay, the timing here it wasn't totally established.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I didn't realize it was Christmas Eve. Did you realize
- 23:22Speaker 2: it was Christmas Eve?
- 23:23Speaker 1: No? And in that moment, I was like, Oh, how
- 23:25Speaker 1: are we going to do this like with these other episodes,
- 23:27Speaker 1: And then when we get kind of to the cliffhanger end,
- 23:29Speaker 1: I was like, oh, I think we're all going to
- 23:31Speaker 1: come back together on Christmas Eve and see some overlapping storylines.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly exactly.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Stacy and Josh are like not vibing, like they're talking
- 23:39Speaker 1: about work, and she's like all dialed in on work.
- 23:41Speaker 1: It's clear that Josh is just like a means to
- 23:43Speaker 1: an end for her. That's what I feel, you know.
- 23:47Speaker 1: She's like, Oh, we'll just be this power couple. It
- 23:49Speaker 1: doesn't matter if we have actual feelings for each other.
- 23:52Speaker 1: He doesn't feel like they're really speaking the same language.
- 23:55Speaker 1: And then he like sees the blender that he gave
- 23:57Speaker 1: to his parents that they've never and he goes to
- 24:01Speaker 1: clear his head for a walk where he runs into
- 24:04Speaker 1: missus Kinzer and he this goes back to like Josh
- 24:08Speaker 1: is like so literal, so analytical, he cannot understand like
- 24:12Speaker 1: why he got this f and she's like, Josh, you
- 24:14Speaker 1: did not do the lesson that I asked, Like you
- 24:17Speaker 1: need to look at things with like different eyes, with
- 24:22Speaker 1: a different perspective, and he's like, dang, I have an idea. Yeah,
- 24:28Speaker 1: it's ornament time ornament.
- 24:30Speaker 2: But you know when he goes back and I thought,
- 24:32Speaker 2: like it to me like he's like working with like, well,
- 24:36Speaker 2: Stacy was there and she's like, wait, our clients don't
- 24:39Speaker 2: want that, And I was like, wait, where is this going,
- 24:41Speaker 2: Like is he changing like there a work project or whatever.
- 24:43Speaker 2: And then no, Wendy, he's drying the ornament that THEO
- 24:49Speaker 2: wants so badly. He takes it to THEO and Norah's
- 24:53Speaker 2: like kind of protective in this moment. He's like, it's
- 24:56Speaker 2: all I can think about, like please, you know, let's
- 24:58Speaker 2: finish what we started.
- 24:59Speaker 1: And I actually I like the light star ornament they
- 25:02Speaker 1: came up with.
- 25:04Speaker 2: I mean it was just a okay whatever, I mean, like,
- 25:07Speaker 2: I mean, you have a limited budget. I don't know
- 25:09Speaker 2: what they were going to come up with.
- 25:11Speaker 1: It's supposed to be hand made, but I think if
- 25:13Speaker 1: you're looking at like he wants it to be opposite
- 25:15Speaker 1: of the death Star, like the rings at orbit. It
- 25:18Speaker 1: gave it that vibe and they fill it with like
- 25:21Speaker 1: meaningful items, including the necklace that wards off bad dreams
- 25:27Speaker 1: from his father.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Question for you, how did Josh make this so quickly?
- 25:32Speaker 2: And in the afternoon? Did he give his parents a
- 25:36Speaker 2: three D print? I was wondering the same thing. Is
- 25:38Speaker 2: this three D printed?
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yes? Did he like blow the dust off the three
- 25:43Speaker 1: D printer that is under the bed in the guest room.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Great question. Totally, totally, totally.
- 25:49Speaker 2: But this was very sweet and I just I did
- 25:53Speaker 2: get a little bit teary eyed when like Theo's talking
- 25:56Speaker 2: about how his dad lives up in the sky and
- 26:02Speaker 2: here are all the things that he like loved about
- 26:05Speaker 2: their life. It was very heartwarming and sweet, and I
- 26:10Speaker 2: thought it was like a beautiful way to include like
- 26:14Speaker 2: his dad who is now past.
- 26:16Speaker 1: It was it was lovely. I thought it was really
- 26:19Speaker 1: lovely too. And of course Theo's like, come with us,
- 26:22Speaker 1: you know, to the stroll. Now. I know you haven't
- 26:25Speaker 1: seen every single Friend's episode multiple times the way I have,
- 26:28Speaker 1: but there's one episode where Ross is dating Mona and
- 26:32Speaker 1: he kind of keeps forgetting he has a girlfriend, Like
- 26:34Speaker 1: there's multiple times and he's like, like I left her
- 26:38Speaker 1: at the movies. And this had that vibe for me,
- 26:40Speaker 1: like Josh just kind of keeps like leaving Stacy behind,
- 26:43Speaker 1: and quite frankly, I'm here for it, like good riddan,
- 26:45Speaker 1: it's Stacy. But I also was like just kind of
- 26:50Speaker 1: come find you, like you got to solve this situation here. Totally,
- 26:55Speaker 1: THEO winns and Stacy shows up and ruins everything.
- 26:58Speaker 2: These shows up and ruins everything. Yeah, that was super awkward,
- 27:04Speaker 2: Like the whole thing was like a weird awkward interaction.
- 27:07Speaker 2: And she's like, can't read the room. She's a total asshole.
- 27:10Speaker 2: She's like, I love competition. Yeah. I just was like, lady,
- 27:14Speaker 2: you don't get it. I was happy that THEO won
- 27:18Speaker 2: the ornament competition and big hugs for everybody and my
- 27:22Speaker 2: notes ibought, Man, this kid is so cute.
- 27:24Speaker 1: He is so cute. And THEO tells Josh that he's
- 27:28Speaker 1: a much better hugger.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Now, yeah, that was so sweet. I loved it. So
- 27:34Speaker 2: Stacey wants to bounce like she's like, bye, we're leaving
- 27:38Speaker 2: to Sydney tomorrow, see you later. Nora wishes them well.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I mean, like, what level of emotional unawareness does this
- 27:45Speaker 1: woman not have in this moment to not be like
- 27:48Speaker 1: something's going on here? Yeah, and like, also, why do
- 27:53Speaker 1: you feel okay just like stomping on the heart of
- 27:55Speaker 1: this child, Like she just seems she's so clueless to me.
- 28:00Speaker 1: If you want me to compare it to another movie,
- 28:01Speaker 1: I would compare it to Perker Posey's character and You've
- 28:03Speaker 1: Got Mail. But moving on last on me, girl, I
- 28:06Speaker 1: haven't seen that me in forty years. Probably it's the
- 28:09Speaker 1: absolute worst.
- 28:11Speaker 2: So in the background we do hear rain and thunder. Guys,
- 28:14Speaker 2: they do live in organ so accurate rain and thunder abound.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Josh and Stacy are talking at the house and Stacy
- 28:20Speaker 2: does have some concerns about like something's changing between them,
- 28:24Speaker 2: and like she's like, look, I'm going to Sydney with
- 28:26Speaker 2: or without you, and you need to make a decision.
- 28:30Speaker 2: You need to either come with me or stay with them.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Let's go out. Boom cliffhanger.
- 28:38Speaker 2: End of episode. I really enjoyed how they ended this episode.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Me too, Me too? Made me excited for the next one. Yeah, totally.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I feel like the reaction is pretty strong for this show.
