- 0:09I didn't fix the volume. No, it's complained, so it's
- 0:16their own fault. Yeah.
- 0:19Yeah. So at the moment it's currently
- 0:21half time in the Storm V Rabbitos.
- 0:25Rabbitos are currently winning, OK, now left to come and record
- 0:28this. If I go back and they are
- 0:30losing, I'm going to be very upset.
- 0:33Are they still going to be playing at the end of this?
- 0:35They'll have lost. They'll either have lost or won
- 0:38by the time we finish. They'll they'll have lost
- 0:40probably. But you know what?
- 0:42I'm joking. I don't know anything about
- 0:44football. So well, it's they're currently
- 0:47like 24 to 0, like it's this is really uncommon that they're
- 0:51winning. But though then they sometimes
- 0:53slack off in the second-half. So I'm still not confident.
- 0:56Yeah, because you can get hang on, I it's been a long time. 6
- 0:59points for a try and a conversion.
- 1:02Yeah, 4 for a try, 2 for a conversion.
- 1:03Right. Yeah.
- 1:04So it's that's only four converted tries.
- 1:07Yeah. And we've actually scored more
- 1:09than that, but. People wondering what's a try?
- 1:11Did you get points for having a go?
- 1:13It's a touchdown, yeah, for the Americans.
- 1:18Yeah, the equivalent. Yeah, but our game takes 80
- 1:21minutes and it gets played for 80 minutes.
- 1:24Right. Yeah, none of this.
- 1:28Let's have a break and talk about it.
- 1:30Yes, you don't get the 60 minute game that takes 3 1/2 hours.
- 1:35No, no. We get in there, we run at each
- 1:39other and stuff happens. Well, I hope they continue to
- 1:44succeed. So do I see what I'm sacrificing
- 1:48for everyone to be here? I appreciate it.
- 1:52Well, in that case, let's begin in your wheelhouse Xbox stuff.
- 1:57We've got Xbox news. I was right.
- 2:03About which in? Particular my rumour that
- 2:05they're looking at getting rid of Call of Duty from being a day
- 2:07one exclusive. Yeah, they've reduced the price
- 2:11of Game Pass. Yeah.
- 2:13So they've reduced the price and I actually got an e-mail about
- 2:16it today to say for my next one it's going to be the cheaper
- 2:18price. Yeah.
- 2:20And but yeah, they do explain that from now on, Call of Duty
- 2:23will not be a day one or come into Game Pass about a year
- 2:26after which but. I won't.
- 2:31But I think the reason they're doing it is they looked at how
- 2:33much money they lost by Call of Duty going to Game Pass.
- 2:38Oh, OK. They lost a lot of sales, like
- 2:41about $3,000,000 because people just got it on Game Pass and.
- 2:46So you think that was the motivation, not people
- 2:47cancelling game pass or or both? It might have been a bit of
- 2:50both, but I think that may have played a bit of a part in it.
- 2:53They looked they it's all about money.
- 2:55Yeah, of course. They're not looking about.
- 2:58Even when it's about getting people on Game Pass, that's
- 3:00about money, yes, Yeah. Yeah.
- 3:03So I think they looked at the pros and cons and went, look, if
- 3:06we reduce the price, we make people happier, they'll come
- 3:08back. But.
- 3:09But we'll also make more money from selling Call of Duty, Yeah.
- 3:13Well, I might come back. I wasn't going to buy Call of
- 3:16Duty anyway, anyway. So you've got to wait for a game
- 3:20that you want to be there. Yeah, well, out of Worlds 2 is a
- 3:23game that I want to play that's on there, but but I don't have
- 3:27time. Yes.
- 3:29Not having game pass for what, 6 months now has taught me doesn't
- 3:35really matter. Yeah, don't exactly what time to
- 3:37play it anyway. And then like if I find time
- 3:40there's plenty of stuff I've I've bought over the last five.
- 3:45What? How long have I had an Xbox
- 3:46Series X? Who knows?
- 3:48Who knows? I've got games, yes.
- 3:51Yeah, yeah, let's stop the end of the world.
- 3:53So I don't know it is more appealing though.
- 3:57Was it $22.00 for me now instead of 30?
- 4:01Yeah, I forget. I think I'm now 26 or something.
- 4:03That's the difference now. But I do get ultimate because I
- 4:08do play on PC and Xbox so. Yes, right.
- 4:14Well I play on GeForce Now which can do the Xbox.
- 4:18Oh, OK, that's too bad. That's quite good then.
- 4:21Yeah, yeah. And oh, that reminds me, there's
- 4:24something that I've not put in here.
- 4:26We won't talk about it yet, but I would like to talk about it.
- 4:29I will put it in there. Now, while we are still talking
- 4:32about Xbox, there were rumours, Xbox rumours that Project Helix,
- 4:40which we have already talked about, it's the new Xbox.
- 4:43There were a bunch of rumours going around that it's actually
- 4:46not really an Xbox as such. It's a chip and it's going to be
- 4:51more like the rogue thing you've got.
- 4:54The third parties will be making the new Xbox, and Xbox isn't
- 4:58actually going to be making new Xbox.
- 5:00This rumour was apparently doing the rounds this week and
- 5:03Microsoft have confirmed in fact who specifically Jason Ronald,
- 5:13the vice president of Xbox's gaming devices and ecosystem,
- 5:16has said Project Helix will be available as a first party Xbox
- 5:21console. So they will be a Microsoft made
- 5:26or Xbox Made Which? I saw he make that announcement
- 5:30but I didn't know it was in relation to rumours that.
- 5:35Yeah it will, because the rumour was it won't be sold directly to
- 5:40consumers, but you'll be able to buy an Asus, MSI, etcetera Helix
- 5:44machine. That was the rumour.
- 5:46But but no, apparently not the case.
- 5:50You will be. Getting an Xbox?
- 5:55Yeah, from them directly. Right.
- 5:58That's going to cost a fortune because no one can afford
- 6:01memory. Yeah, exactly.
- 6:04But interestingly, the word available.
- 6:08Is. Used which implies well there
- 6:13will maybe also be the other things too because the Project
- 6:17Helix will be available. It doesn't say like Project
- 6:19Helix Helix will be a first party Xbox console system will
- 6:23be available as. So I'm thinking that means both
- 6:27are true. Yeah.
- 6:30Probably which? Whatever.
- 6:33Sure. No.
- 6:34Well, I think it's interesting though.
- 6:35Like they're going to make a console, but also, you know,
- 6:38Asus or Asus, have you pronounced that?
- 6:41Yeah, well, it's like the ROG. Right, right.
- 6:44Well, that was a surprise. I can use it as everything.
- 6:47Yeah, that was a surprise because is the Series X right?
- 6:53Yep. Has custom shit in it, does it
- 6:58not? Yeah, it would.
- 7:00So I just think it's interesting that because you've got one of
- 7:05the the rogue things, the yeah, what's it called?
- 7:07The Ally. Li yeah LIX.
- 7:10Rog LIX. That can run Windows and shit
- 7:14too. Yeah.
- 7:15So I just, I was, I don't know, I guess they're not as different
- 7:19as they used to be. Like, for example, I don't think
- 7:20an Xbox 360 could run Windows, right.
- 7:22They had custom everything, processes and everything like
- 7:25that. I guess the Series X and the
- 7:28Helix presumably must be more like APC.
- 7:32Yeah. Oh, definitely.
- 7:34And I think that's just, I think the Project Helix is going to be
- 7:36a lot even closer to APC than the Series X.
- 7:40But they have just some fast storage and all that shit I
- 7:43guess. I guess maybe Windows can just
- 7:45use that? Yeah, we'll just wait and see.
- 7:49Yeah, that. Was interesting.
- 7:51Still aiming for next year, which I don't know if I'll be
- 7:54getting one day one just due to the price.
- 7:56Yeah, that's the thing that's scaring me about this one is how
- 8:00much it's going to cost now. Right.
- 8:03Yeah. Like even with like my lix like
- 8:06that, that's gone up to $100 in Australia just due to memory.
- 8:12How much are the little hard drives for the Xbox Series X
- 8:16now? Because they were already very
- 8:17expensive? Are they even?
- 8:18More. Yeah, they were.
- 8:19I don't know. I haven't looked for a while.
- 8:21Yeah, I just, I realized at a certain point I don't need one
- 8:24and I'm glad I never bought 1 because I don't need one.
- 8:26But I just don't have the desire to have that many games
- 8:32installed at once. No, they're externals.
- 8:37I want the internal ones. Yeah, the ones you use slot in.
- 8:40Yeah, external, sort of. Internal hard drive expansion.
- 8:45I mean I. Shouldn't it's just the same OK?
- 8:47But with a different connector, like a high speed connector.
- 8:51So the Seagate storage one, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:54The bytes 430 dollars. How much?
- 8:57One terabyte. 2 terabytes. Two terabytes still fuck off.
- 9:01It's ridiculous. It's more than half the price of
- 9:04the Xbox. Yeah, that's ridiculous, all
- 9:06right. And the other thing is that
- 9:10Microsoft switching back to using the Xbox brand full time,
- 9:15they kind of were using Microsoft gaming for like the
- 9:21gaming stuff. And then the Xbox was just kind
- 9:24of the consoles or whatever they've, they're now reverting
- 9:28all that. Basically it's going to be Xbox
- 9:31is. Microsoft Gaming.
- 9:32It was getting quite confusing as to what was what.
- 9:35Right. Yeah, well, so now this is it.
- 9:38I think it just says Xbox needs to be our identity.
- 9:41You know Xbox is Microsoft gaming.
- 9:44They still need to fix their online store for Windows.
- 9:48Oh really Still? There's Xbox games, but then
- 9:51there's Windows, just games on there and just mixed in on the
- 9:56the actual store. If you go off the Xbox app, it
- 9:58does focus more on Game Pass and stuff.
- 10:00Yeah, Windows Store, it's just all mixed in together.
- 10:03Wait. So you could accidentally buy a
- 10:04game you can't play. Get achievements on.
- 10:07Oh, get achievements on. Don't.
- 10:09That's all I care about. This is.
- 10:12A fairly niche problem for you. Yes.
- 10:15OK, OK, that's funny. Yeah, well, everyone knows I
- 10:21need the achievements. Yes, I know.
- 10:25I'm not going. To get they're revamping them
- 10:27slightly for you, you're getting some new new pretty pictures on
- 10:29the screen. You're pretty pictures which
- 10:31I've got to check and see if I've got an update for that
- 10:32soon. Don't check now, we're busy.
- 10:35Why can't I check now? Because we're busy boxes there.
- 10:38I know it shouldn't be see it get it out of the room if you
- 10:40stick it this no. You can check if you want.
- 10:43No, it's OK, I can wait. There's one more thing which is
- 10:45just there is someone noticed that they've got some new
- 10:52responses coming back from their pricing APII don't know, people
- 10:55poke around at this shit like they do PlayStation One
- 10:58recently. There's some new code names for
- 11:04Game Pass API apparently. So the theory is they're going
- 11:10to be new bundles of Game Pass that don't exist currently.
- 11:15So they've just reduced the current price and now they're
- 11:17going to split it out even more. Well, this, I don't know, this
- 11:21article does a little bit of a little gymnastics.
- 11:24I think that the premise of this headline is that Xbox Game Pass
- 11:28could soon offer pick your own deals.
- 11:31And I feel like they've kind of taken the ball and run with it a
- 11:34bit there. Like there's just, there's a
- 11:37thing called Duet and a thing called Triton in the Game Pass
- 11:42APIs now which suggest packages of services are in the plan's
- 11:46future, like packages of services.
- 11:50What? Yeah, I don't know.
- 11:52I feel like there must be more to this.
- 11:54Like why would those? Two names of two new bundles
- 11:58make you suspect that you can pick and choose what you want.
- 12:02I know they have like pick your own deals that come up every now
- 12:05and again. Oh Duet and Triton 2 and 3.
- 12:09Yeah, that's not what it sounds like to me.
- 12:13Interesting. I don't know.
- 12:14I don't. Know people pick up two things
- 12:16and run too too quickly sometimes I think.
- 12:21Yeah, I see. I see where they're going with
- 12:23it. I mean, yeah, sorry.
- 12:27That's another thing that's fall around.
- 12:29OK, so to take a current premium and then to let you pick from
- 12:32any of the bits and bobs that appear in ultimate day one
- 12:35releases, but. They're just guessing.
- 12:39They're just guessing based on the names, like yeah.
- 12:44Which I think it'd be great because I'd love to have like
- 12:46Ubisoft plus just be a part of it or pay once and it might be,
- 12:50well, great. Yeah.
- 12:53We'll wait and see. I'm.
- 12:55Yeah, sometimes they do. When they do dig, dive and dive
- 12:59into code, they do find some amazing stuff.
- 13:01Other times it's just. That's we've found, we've found,
- 13:05I'd say we collectively the human race have discovered that
- 13:09Apple is up to something from, you know, from device names
- 13:12being leaked in bits of X code and whatnot.
- 13:15So. Well, what's Apple up to?
- 13:17We'll talk about that later. No, no, no, this that's I didn't
- 13:19mean currently, but there is Apple news, but we'll get to
- 13:21that. That's that's a yeah.
- 13:24Before we do that, there's more game stuff.
- 13:27Yes, and I'm actually excited for this one.
- 13:30Is this Assassin's Creed? Black Flag.
- 13:33I enjoyed that game, I really did.
- 13:36I never played it much. I played a little bit of it.
- 13:38It looked very good. I just enjoyed like, focusing on
- 13:42the ship and upgrading the ship and going around blowing stuff
- 13:45up. That was fun to me and that's
- 13:47what I was looking forward to when they released.
- 13:49The the. The quadruple game game.
- 13:53That skull and bones, whatever it was.
- 13:55Or yeah, Skull and Bones, where you couldn't even get off the
- 13:57ship. Yeah, that was a weird one.
- 14:01I mean, this looks good. They've got side by sides.
- 14:04I've got to say some of the the side by side videos, yes, this
- 14:08looks amazing. It's basically it's a remaster
- 14:10remake of of Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
- 14:12If you don't, if you don't know what that is, it's a it's a it
- 14:15was a launch title for the Xbox X, Xbox X.
- 14:22What was it? Series that No Xbox One, the
- 14:24Xbox One One. Name the fucking consoles more
- 14:28easily for me to remember the Xbox.
- 14:30One that's what PlayStation do her what dot dot well,
- 14:33PlayStation 1.2345 like easy, yeah.
- 14:37The Xbox One, it was like a well, maybe just after launch,
- 14:42but it was an early title for that.
- 14:44So that's quite a while ago. It's 2013, it's been remastered
- 14:50and it looks really good. The videos especially look good.
- 14:52Sometimes they put screenshots and I'm like, I don't know if
- 14:55the new screenshot looks better. I think the old screenshot looks
- 14:58better just in some cases for so I know it's like, oh, why'd you
- 15:01pick that one? Weird.
- 15:03But no, I I saw this and because it's been coming out for a while
- 15:06and yeah. Yeah, there's been rumours about
- 15:09it. It leaked actually before they
- 15:12officially announced it. Like it leaked, it looks a lot
- 15:16better. Yeah, yeah.
- 15:17No, it does when it's moving and like the the environments and
- 15:21stuff it looks. Like how I remember it, I went
- 15:25back and played the original and it's not going to look like
- 15:28this. No, no, I've done that before.
- 15:32Yeah, that's why I like them remaking games every now and
- 15:35again, so I could go back and replay them the way I think they
- 15:38were. Yes.
- 15:39And also I get more achievements.
- 15:43Oh yeah that's true, you can do the same thing again and get
- 15:46achievements for it. Does the Assassin's Creed Black
- 15:49Flag have collecting feathers and shit?
- 15:54No, not to that extent. There's a lot of chess
- 15:57throughout the world. Right.
- 15:58And we're making. That up, Yeah, yeah, That is not
- 16:00musical notes that you have to run and collect and things like
- 16:03that. But if I remember, you don't
- 16:05have to collect them all to get the achievement.
- 16:07I think you have to collect. I didn't.
- 16:09Care about achievements, that's pretty clear.
- 16:11That's not why I was asking. I just I care about the fun.
- 16:16Well, you don't have to collect them.
- 16:18I Yeah, exactly. And if it's not fun.
- 16:21I won't, just don't do it. Yeah, exactly.
- 16:23But some of them got very frustrating to collect.
- 16:25Yeah. But no, I do remember there
- 16:28being lots and lots of chess in the world at one point.
- 16:31You just have to. Go Oh, you're a pirate?
- 16:32Need to open them? Need to collect everyone in
- 16:36every town. Yeah, but you're a pirate.
- 16:38You want the treasure. And then you'll just be standing
- 16:41around in a ship where you'll see someone floating in the
- 16:44water and you just go, you're now part of my crew.
- 16:47Oh. That's all that worked in real.
- 16:49Life. Yep.
- 16:49Yes, you saved them. You're now part of the crew.
- 16:51Get to work. You work for me now mate.
- 16:53Yep. You know, we might go back to
- 16:54port. We're not letting you off the
- 16:56boat. Well, Speaking of just grabbing
- 17:02people and making them work for you, yes, there's another game
- 17:05that's getting an enhanced version and that is a game that
- 17:09I just started replaying. We've talked about this last
- 17:12week and. I think it's time to stop
- 17:14playing it. I have because they have
- 17:17announced fucking Conan Exiles is getting Unreal Engine 5 like
- 17:24redo And have you seen the videos for this?
- 17:27That's a dramatic. Improvement.
- 17:29It's. 'Cause even I remember playing
- 17:31the original, it didn't look that great.
- 17:34No Assassin's Creed Black Flag looked good.
- 17:36The original 1 Kern exiles did not.
- 17:38It was like, no, the the yeah, it was not a a visual.
- 17:44Looked all brown and all spots I see I didn't travel that far.
- 17:47It was brown and janky. Yeah.
- 17:50Yeah. This looks good.
- 17:54So I think this is what coming to PC on the 4th of May I
- 17:58believe. Yes, and people are free.
- 18:01It's free, Yeah. So I.
- 18:03Just why are they upset? Consoles aren't getting this
- 18:06mate. You're not getting this.
- 18:10There are currently no plans for consoles, however they haven't
- 18:17ruled it out. What they said was they they
- 18:20probably do it at some point. Yeah, no, I'm amazed that
- 18:24they've gone and done it for PC to be honest.
- 18:26I know I and and also I suppose because they're not potentially
- 18:32not getting any more money out of this.
- 18:33No, that's that makes it interesting to me.
- 18:35Is that like? And I thought that is.
- 18:37Anybody going to buy this that didn't already buy Conan Exiles
- 18:40back in whenever the fuck it came out?
- 18:41Like 20 years. Ago, 2017. 2017, so almost 10
- 18:45years ago. Almost 10 years ago and yeah.
- 18:47And especially with the June being out, you think all their
- 18:51focus would be on that? Still playing Dune.
- 18:54Dune's great. Played that yesterday.
- 18:57I played most days, just a little.
- 18:58I have a little bit got to check on my just got to check on
- 19:01things so. Just make sure your base isn't
- 19:04deteriorating. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:06No, I've got so I've got. We don't have to talk.
- 19:10I won't. I won't Babble on about this
- 19:11too. I'm sure people sick of hearing
- 19:12about it. You.
- 19:13The most you can fuel up your base in Dune is 20 days. 20
- 19:17days, OK. The most you can, you know,
- 19:20power up your Shields and stuff. Like for a couple of weeks you
- 19:22can plan for that. And yeah.
- 19:25So I just keep topping them up and then every now and then I
- 19:27have to duck out to my my rift base and my radiation base.
- 19:33Yeah, just to pick up a few things stock and.
- 19:36Then make sure they're powered up.
- 19:38Yeah. Because.
- 19:38Then. I don't one off again until
- 19:40you've got time. Yeah, I go there when I need
- 19:42things, yeah. And that's fair.
- 19:45Yeah, but a current Excel's enhanced, I mean.
- 19:49Great, the. Only problem is that yeah, mods
- 19:52probably aren't going to work. Which is fine, I'm not using
- 19:55that many, I'm using and and they might cover some of the
- 19:58things the mods I'm using do in. The mods, the mod community,
- 20:03they will get that fixed so quickly.
- 20:04Sure, like if you look at like a lot of the Bethesda games,
- 20:08there's quality of life mods that come out within days of it
- 20:12being they're being released. So the mod mod as well just get
- 20:14them sorted if if people are still using them I think yeah.
- 20:18Like the main ones that I'm using are the to make it look
- 20:23better, like improvements to like appearance like.
- 20:26Faces and stuff that. Anymore.
- 20:28Yeah, exactly. And then the UI, like, yeah,
- 20:31yeah, because the character models were janky.
- 20:34So people just added more like options for like, what the face
- 20:38looks like and different armor types and stuff like that.
- 20:41And that's probably all. This reminds me, I need to go
- 20:44back to Morrowind. God, that's a game that almost
- 20:49certainly doesn't look like what it looks like in my head.
- 20:52No, because. I played a lot of Morrowind
- 20:54back. I played a lot of Morrowind back
- 20:56in the day and yeah, the, the, the new one, it's.
- 20:59Even though. I remember the old one looked
- 21:01horrible. I'm thinking right now Rifton
- 21:05Rifton, not Rifton. Rifton was in.
- 21:08Skyrim. Skyrim.
- 21:09What was the town in Morrowind that was just a bunch of fucking
- 21:12tunnels? That was tedious and.
- 21:15Yeah. What was that town called?
- 21:17There's a lot of places in that. But yeah, no, that, that was a,
- 21:20that upgrade was amazing. And that's why I'm looking
- 21:22forward to playing Fallout 3 again, because there's rumours
- 21:25of doing that as well. Wait, there's a Morrowind
- 21:28remake? Was it Morrowind I'm thinking
- 21:30about or am I thinking about Oblivion I?
- 21:32Was going to say I was like. Do Morrowind as well.
- 21:35Yeah, do Morrowind. Morrowind is great.
- 21:38OK, Yeah, Oblivion look good. Yeah, all they're doing is
- 21:41putting a new wrapper on it. They're not changing the game
- 21:43mechanics. Just do it.
- 21:45I think maybe it's harder for older games because like
- 21:47Oblivion presumably was built on some form of engine that just
- 21:52kind of expanded Morrowind's long enough ago that.
- 21:55Yeah, because that was was that an Xbox title?
- 21:58It was an original Xbox. Type.
- 22:00Yeah, like an original. An Xbox?
- 22:02Yeah. Yeah.
- 22:04It's yeah, old, old school. But no, give me the Unreal
- 22:07Engine of Fallout 3, I'll play that again.
- 22:11Yeah, it's just, it's just an interesting point, something I
- 22:18discovered the other day. I was looking up movie stuff
- 22:21just casually. I saw something about a series
- 22:26of movies that I have enjoyed throughout my life, and I was
- 22:28looking up stuff about them and I just stumbled into this on
- 22:32like through Wikipedia or through something or other,
- 22:34right? And I'm actually going to talk
- 22:37now about Super 3D Noah's Ark. Have you played this game?
- 22:42Super 3D Noah's Ark. Yeah, Super. 3D Noah's Ark.
- 22:46No, I cannot say I have. It is a non violent Christian
- 22:50first person shooter developed and published by Wisdom Tree for
- 22:53the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994 and MS-DOS in
- 22:561995. It.
- 22:58Looks like Wolfenstein. Yeah.
- 23:00But I want you to read, go down to development and read that
- 23:07first sentence for you. Are you able to do that?
- 23:10I can I can do this one. Read the first part of where it
- 23:14says development. The game would eventually become
- 23:17Super 3D Noah's Ark. The game?
- 23:20Sorry, I'll start that again. The game that would eventually
- 23:22become Super 3D, Noah's Ark, was originally conceived conceived
- 23:26as a licensed game based off the film Hellraiser.
- 23:32How do you go from Hellraiser to Super 3D Dollars Ark?
- 23:37Apparently the founder of Wisdom Tree, Dan Lawton, says he was a
- 23:42big fan of Hellraiser, which I thought was interesting given
- 23:45that it's a Christian game company, but I mean, it's kind
- 23:47of like horror movies too, I suppose.
- 23:51Wisdom Tree acquired the rights to Hellraiser for $50,000.
- 23:55I think that's, I think it's so interesting because like it's a
- 24:03Christian game company. Was it they don't clarify this,
- 24:06but like was it a Christian game company company or what?
- 24:08Happened during development that they should.
- 24:10Like become a Christian like and then was like, oh, you know
- 24:13what? I don't think we should make a
- 24:14Hellraiser game. But what?
- 24:15It just baffles me. Well, it says eventually the
- 24:19Hellraiser game concept was abandoned for several issues.
- 24:21The hardware was found unsuitable because of its low
- 24:24color palette. Which that doesn't really make
- 24:28sense to me because. The platform for Hellraiser was
- 24:31then switched to PC and the developers were able to make
- 24:34more progress. However, by the time the first
- 24:35prototype was finished, Doom had been released and Wisdom Tree
- 24:39felt that Hellraiser would not be able to compete.
- 24:45In addition, the management at Wisdom Tree decided that
- 24:47developing and publishing a horror themed game would clash
- 24:49with their religious family friendly image.
- 24:51Yeah, no shit, that's why. That's why I find this whole
- 24:54thing so strange. So they were already a.
- 24:58Christian and they it's just like Dan was just not I got to
- 25:03make this or what how razor and how razor is like.
- 25:06Horror movie about just like like demons from another
- 25:10dimension that, yeah, torture people.
- 25:14I mean, I guess it's it's like a little bit, but it's not though.
- 25:20It's explicitly like not it's, it's a different mythology.
- 25:24I guess. It's not not Christian Cal
- 25:26Razor. It's like a different mythology.
- 25:28Out there you could play though. I, I don't know, I just thought
- 25:31this was fucking interesting. This game, Noah's Ark 3D where
- 25:38you apparently like it's, it's like Wolfenstein but you go
- 25:40around and you shoot food at animals to make them go to sleep
- 25:44so you can collect them and put them on the ark that was
- 25:48originally hell raiser first person shooter.
- 25:53Like baffling. Anyway.
- 26:00You know, there must be a sort of somewhat playable version out
- 26:03there. I don't know, man, I don't know.
- 26:06Well, there's just so. Many layers to that that I'm.
- 26:09Like, yeah. Don't understand, I don't
- 26:11understand how'd they get the rights to make the game for 50
- 26:14grand Like I guess it was during the period when.
- 26:18They well remember the value of the.
- 26:19Game rights. Well, yeah.
- 26:21And also, although this would have been even before, like they
- 26:25were making generic licensed crappy movies into games because
- 26:30yeah, that sort of came later. I just think they just didn't
- 26:34value. When was this 1994 I guess.
- 26:42I guess Hellraiser probably wasn't doing much at that point.
- 26:45There was a period where Hellraiser didn't have stuff.
- 26:49Although when did Hellraiser Inferno come out?
- 26:51Or Razor Inferno 2000? Yeah.
- 26:54And then before that was Hellraiser Bloodlines Bloodline
- 27:001996 and then Hellraiser 3 was before that, which was
- 27:04Hellraiser 3 was 1992. So, you know, there was stuff
- 27:06going on, yeah. No, I just think they just
- 27:09didn't that. Yeah, if you want to make it,
- 27:11we'll take $50,000. Yeah.
- 27:15Yeah, I'm thinking not much would come of it because
- 27:17remember, this is only like Super Nintendo days.
- 27:19This. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:22And the movie games would garbage.
- 27:24Well, not always. Superstar Wars and stuff were
- 27:27pretty good. Yeah, but a lot of them were
- 27:29just terrible. Yeah.
- 27:31Just cash insurance to make money quick.
- 27:34I think that also happened, I think, like when Superstar Wars
- 27:36was fun because it wasn't trying to tie in with the movie that
- 27:39was coming out at the time, so they weren't rushing to get it.
- 27:42Out. Yeah, exactly.
- 27:43Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah.
- 27:46Yeah. Anyway, yeah, I know.
- 27:50I just. I was reading stuff about
- 27:52Hellraiser. I don't even remember how I got
- 27:54specifically to that, but I was like, it said something about
- 27:56Hellraiser game that became Noah's Ark Three DI was like,
- 27:59what? And then, yeah, it got even
- 28:02weirder. Yeah.
- 28:06But Speaking of the Nintendo stuff people may have seen,
- 28:12we've got some weirdness over here in the US regarding
- 28:17President Trump's tariffs that have been found to be illegal.
- 28:22He wasn't allowed to do that, apparently.
- 28:24However, they did collect quite a lot of money from from us.
- 28:30Before they found out it was illegal.
- 28:32Well, it's it's weird, right? Because or we'll get to it.
- 28:36The the the whole point of this. Yes, they tariffs were imposed.
- 28:40We paid the tariffs. There was some confusion about
- 28:43that apparently, like. I still don't understand how
- 28:45this confusion about who was going to be paying them.
- 28:48We, the people who live here, paid more money for things.
- 28:52Yes, the tariffs. We paid the tariffs, right?
- 28:54So there was. All the way Trump, Trump
- 28:56explained. It was the other countries are
- 28:58going to pay the tariffs. Because I think he thought they
- 29:01would eat the tariffs, which they didn't like.
- 29:04Which was never going to happen. He either thought that or he
- 29:06just didn't give a shit either. Either could be true.
- 29:10Basically, in this case, gamers had to pay Nintendo more money
- 29:15for things. Yes, and the big one being the
- 29:17switch too. Because of the tariffs and now
- 29:21not me, I got in early, but other people.
- 29:25And now apparently, you know, they've decided the tariffs
- 29:29weren't legal. So they have, they're going to
- 29:31refund the tariffs to the companies because the companies
- 29:36technically pay the like we, we pay more, but the money, the
- 29:40company and then the company had to pay the tariff, right?
- 29:43So the companies are now getting the money back.
- 29:50And now people are suing Nintendo like consumers are
- 29:54suing Nintendo, saying that's my money.
- 29:56But I don't think Nintendo would be getting the money back.
- 30:00They are. I thought, but wouldn't it be
- 30:02the people who imported them that paid the tariff?
- 30:07Nintendo put the price up because they had to pay as a
- 30:12consequence. Oh, hang on.
- 30:13OK, OK, OK, OK. Sorry.
- 30:15Importers who paid those tax, including Nintendo.
- 30:17Nintendo is the importer. OK.
- 30:19So they did import some as well, so OK.
- 30:22Become entitled to refunds of the duties they previously paid
- 30:25to US Customs and Border Protection.
- 30:27And then now people here in the US, consumers are suing
- 30:33Nintendo, saying that's my money, give it back.
- 30:36Which I think is sort of Fair. Yes, it's just it it, it just
- 30:41makes the whole thing even more shitty.
- 30:44Yeah, because so the people who really paid are just the
- 30:48consumers who? Right, because the Nintendo did
- 30:52not eat the cost of the tariffs, they just passed it on.
- 30:55Which is why. They passed it on and now
- 30:56they're getting, Ron said was. Going to happen.
- 31:00They didn't make things the same price and pay, they made us pay.
- 31:04Yes. Yeah, so and then yeah, because
- 31:08the help, it's not just Nintendo, it's lots of companies
- 31:12are all just going to get the money and a lot of them are just
- 31:15going to keep it. Yeah, obviously so.
- 31:18Well, it's also going to be quite a hard thing to work out.
- 31:21Who paid for what and do you still have?
- 31:23Your Oh sure, but they're going to have records they've they've
- 31:26got you've got to have records legally, I'm sure so they they'd
- 31:30be able to do it if they could be bothered, but they.
- 31:32Won't. Well, no, I know.
- 31:33But like depending on where you purchased the console, depending
- 31:37on who imported that because while the tenant was reported,
- 31:40they wouldn't have imported all of them.
- 31:42Oh, I see. What?
- 31:42He's name like Best Buy I. Meant broadly like other
- 31:45companies too, just broadly these.
- 31:46Tariffs, yeah, but if you have to be refunded, you don't have
- 31:49your receipt. Yeah.
- 31:50Like things like timber and other things were really got
- 31:55really expensive because of it. And I think that money's just
- 31:59going to go back to the company. Yeah, not to the people who paid
- 32:02for it. You know, I think it it'd be a
- 32:04hard thing to work out who would be owed the money directly.
- 32:07Companies is the work I. Would love to be, I'd love to be
- 32:10proved wrong and proved wrong and they maybe, you know,
- 32:13everyone gets their money back, but I doubt it.
- 32:15I don't think it's going to happen or if it is, it's going
- 32:17to be you need to apply for it. It's not going to be just you're
- 32:19not going to get money in your account.
- 32:21No, no, you're not just going to magically get a refund on your
- 32:23credit card for. No.
- 32:25Shit that you bought, yeah. Anyway, Yeah.
- 32:28So there's a loss, really. Horrible.
- 32:32Yeah, so. So it'd probably be a class
- 32:36action. So if you do feel you got
- 32:37scammed, join it. Is it a class action?
- 32:40It probably. It'd have to be, wouldn't it?
- 32:44Man, they do this thing now. They do this in Australia too.
- 32:46I don't know if this is an American, Australian thing where
- 32:48companies will just like say, oh, we've got new terms and
- 32:51conditions and as part of the terms and conditions it's
- 32:54arbitration clause, yes, or like.
- 32:57You. There was you.
- 32:57Like to sue him anymore? Case recently where someone died
- 33:02at Disney at Disneyland and they would the family was trying to
- 33:07sue and they've got no because she signed up for Disney plus.
- 33:10Yes. Oh yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 33:11That you need to go through arbitration and it's sort of
- 33:14like. But it's not that's that's over
- 33:16here too. Does that happen in Australia?
- 33:18No, I think that was, I'm not sure.
- 33:20I think we've got a bit more consumer protection over.
- 33:22Here that's I was like, I bet, I bet they wouldn't let you do
- 33:24that in Australia. Yeah, you can't just go.
- 33:26Oh, no, we're supposed to change it.
- 33:28And now you're. Yeah.
- 33:30How dare we protect our citizens?
- 33:33I told you there was the people found the the the Department of
- 33:37Fair Trading NSW has a website about common scams.
- 33:44Oh, not scams, sorry, dark patterns, they call them.
- 33:47So you know, when you go to we might have talked about this
- 33:49before, but whatever. You know, when you go to a a
- 33:52website like an online store and it'll have like spin the wheel
- 33:57to win a prize and or like it's got flashes up on the screen.
- 34:04So and so in, in Milwaukee just bought five of these things and
- 34:09it and it's all things designed to make you feel like a sense of
- 34:12urgency to purchase, right? That shit's illegal in
- 34:14Australia. Yeah, but the websites aren't in
- 34:18Australia. And so the Department of Fair
- 34:20Trading has a, a website that explains all this stuff for, for
- 34:25innocent Australians who are used to, you know, not having to
- 34:27deal with fucking scams, scams and quotes because it's not
- 34:32true. Nobody in Milwaukee bought that
- 34:34thing. It's a lie.
- 34:36It's literally a lie. Milwaukee did not by fight.
- 34:37They don't only have two left in stock and right.
- 34:40Exactly. What do next 15 minutes or?
- 34:43Yes, they can lie. That's just how it is overseas.
- 34:47In Australia, you can't do that. And so they have a web.
- 34:50Fair Trading has a website that explains, basically explains
- 34:52that like they're going to tell you if you go to a website and
- 34:55it's selling things, it could be in a foreign country where they
- 34:58don't accept that it's not illegal.
- 34:59They'll just lie to make you buy things.
- 35:01And it's not to say you're not going to get the product or the
- 35:04product's going to be wrong or anything.
- 35:05It's just the. Right.
- 35:08I mean, you might be, but that's not the Yeah, that's not the
- 35:10point. The point is that they'd it's
- 35:12it's coercing you into buying it, like it's creating a false
- 35:15sense of scarcity or or whatever.
- 35:17What did you see? It's like such and such brought
- 35:19this or all these five star good reviews, but you can never click
- 35:22on the reviews to see where they've come from.
- 35:24Yeah. Because they're made-up, I
- 35:27guess, and that's illegal in Australia.
- 35:30So anyway, the fair training has this website and and I guess
- 35:32somebody online found it and there was this whole big
- 35:34discussion, I think it was on Reddit or Hacker News or
- 35:36whatever it was, people going oh, what a you're the, the
- 35:39government of Australia babying the people and blah blah.
- 35:42And it's like like, no, no, no, this stuff is illegal in
- 35:45Australia and it fucking should be illegal.
- 35:47Yes, it's lies. Like it's literally like.
- 35:50It's like they're like, and they're just trying to protect
- 35:54the people here. Think, well, it's fair, you're
- 35:57fair game mate. Like, you know, if you went to
- 36:00like the car dealership and then like the, you know, the tactics
- 36:02they use to sell you a car, right, the start, Like you can't
- 36:06do all that shit in Australia. You're not allowed to because
- 36:09it's like you just have to be a straightforward, normal fucking
- 36:12human being. Like, throw the car on its
- 36:14merits. It's not about ripping people
- 36:16off to just yeah, that's. The point is that like, if you
- 36:20get ripped off, that's your fault.
- 36:21That's their attitude. Whereas in Australia it's like,
- 36:24no, no, we're going to prevent these people from doing that.
- 36:27They think that's like with the government overstepping.
- 36:31I just thought that was really interesting and telling about
- 36:33cultural differences between countries.
- 36:36Because I'm quite happy to try and help him stop me from being
- 36:40scared. Yeah, Yes, we shouldn't, I mean.
- 36:43Or they shouldn't. Realize to do that.
- 36:44It's not. It's not nice.
- 36:46Like I know 1 of what I remember being in legal studies in high
- 36:49school and one of the things they talked about is you
- 36:52couldn't like one of the things that's illegal.
- 36:53You can't have an advert advertising something in a store
- 36:58that you've got one product off and you know you're going to
- 37:00sell out off immediately, right? And then go, oh, but we do have
- 37:04these other products. Available.
- 37:05Oh, you're not even allowed to. Do that the bait and switch.
- 37:08Right, right. You have to have, it's not like
- 37:11you can sell out and that's what I do have until sold out, but
- 37:14you have to have a reasonable amount of quantity.
- 37:17You can't have one and then go. You can't engineer a situation.
- 37:21Yeah, yeah, yeah. In any state.
- 37:26Yep, brought it on ourselves. Yeah, no, I just, I was like,
- 37:32wait, you guys don't think the government should be allowed to,
- 37:36to do it. They they're saying you
- 37:36shouldn't be allowed to tell these companies what to do.
- 37:39It's like, but they're lying to people like trick them into
- 37:43buying things or might not trick them.
- 37:44That's, I guess it's, it is a little.
- 37:47Well, the other thing too is that, yeah, we've talked about
- 37:49this before. I know I have.
- 37:50But you know, when literally happened to me the other day, I
- 37:52was trying to buy cranberry juice.
- 37:56Yep. Actual cranberry juice.
- 37:58Yeah, just just you just wanted a cranberry juice and put it in
- 38:01a bottle. You can say 100% cranberry
- 38:03juice. You look on the back, it's 100%
- 38:06cranberry juice from concentrate with apple juice.
- 38:11Like you could just, you could just say whatever you want on
- 38:13the fucking label. You would it'd be taken to the
- 38:16Department of Fair Trading if you tried that in Australia like
- 38:19that's they can do. What they can literally put
- 38:21whatever the fuck they want on the label here.
- 38:22I swear to God, you have to read the the only thing that that
- 38:25there are laws around. I think the nutritional
- 38:26information is going to be accurate.
- 38:27So you've just got to check it because the, the, the whatever's
- 38:30on the front of that thing is probably a lie.
- 38:34Like it's, it's so crazy. Because all sometimes you get
- 38:37like apple juice or lemon juice and I can trust the front
- 38:41label's telling me. 100%. Apple, it's 100%.
- 38:43Yeah, 100% orange juice. Yeah, some orange juice here.
- 38:46No, it'll be concentrate or it'll have some weird shit in it
- 38:50to like. You know it'll be 100% apple
- 38:54like orange juice with pulp. No added preservatives.
- 38:57Yeah. The point being, if you've got,
- 38:59if it says on the front 100% orange juice, it has to be 100%
- 39:04orange. That's not the case here.
- 39:05Here, It's it, it anything goes on the front label, apparently.
- 39:09Yeah, although, although there's some like weird like it's, it's
- 39:11100% cranberry juice from concentrate with apple juice,
- 39:15like. OK, Yeah.
- 39:17It's your fault. You're you're you're clearly
- 39:20implying on the front that it's, yeah anyway, fucking
- 39:23infuriating. Yeah, I I could.
- 39:27I could not handle that. No, no.
- 39:30But it's just overhead like. Yeah, you have to pay extra.
- 39:33Attention. I know, so therefore I've got to
- 39:36fuck around and check. Other people just don't know.
- 39:38They just assume that what they're being told is the truth.
- 39:41Yeah, and and or they don't care.
- 39:43Exactly. A lot of people just don't care,
- 39:44which is fine. But like like I do because I
- 39:47don't, I don't want apple juice. I'll buy Apple.
- 39:49Juice. You don't like cranberry juice?
- 39:52Yeah, and I want it because I want the really like, strong
- 39:55flavour because I'm going to mix it with some tonic water.
- 39:57Yeah, like, anyway. Oh, that reminds me.
- 40:02Something exciting is happening, people I don't.
- 40:04Know it's for the after party which we'll get to.
- 40:07I have a question from a listener.
- 40:10OK, so if you want to find out what that question is, you'll
- 40:13need to go to patreon.com/multiple Norgasm and
- 40:17give us $5 and then you can listen to the after party.
- 40:20But until you do, you're not going to get to hear what this
- 40:22question is. Yes, I just remember.
- 40:24What my answer will be? We got a question for a listener
- 40:26that I need to put in there follow up.
- 40:30Follow up. Avatar the Last Airbender, we
- 40:35talked about how that film got emailed to somebody.
- 40:39Yeah, and he leaked it and, well, he tried to.
- 40:43Did he try to get? He wasn't, he wasn't trying to
- 40:46get money. He was trying to get them to
- 40:48talk about it or he was going to release it.
- 40:50Like made no sense. Yeah, exactly.
- 40:52It was ridiculous. He's been arrested and he's in
- 40:56Singapore, so this is bad for him.
- 40:59Oh, he could be in prison for a long time.
- 41:03As a result of this 26 year old man who allegedly leaked the
- 41:07unreleased animated film The Legend of ANG, The Last
- 41:09Airbender has been arrested and faces a charge that could lead
- 41:13to serious jail time in Singapore.
- 41:15Which is, Yeah. Singapore's one of those
- 41:18countries where you just do not want to break the law.
- 41:21Baffled by why you would do this.
- 41:23I went to, when I was over there, I went to the like
- 41:26Centennial Garden and even the taxi driver on the way there was
- 41:29like don't pick up a leaf and try and take it out with you.
- 41:33Even if it's a leaf that's on the ground and they catch you,
- 41:35that's $100,000 fight. Fucking hell.
- 41:41Like and that's and that's only yeah.
- 41:44So that's not taking it off a tree or anything.
- 41:46That's even if it's just on the ground walking out.
- 41:48So just you don't fuck around over there.
- 41:51Well, this OK, this charge, he's been charged with unauthorized
- 41:57access to computer material. OK.
- 42:00Like, OK, that sounds bad. Maximum jail time of seven
- 42:04years, a fine not exceeding $50,000, or both.
- 42:09OK. So he could get 7 years in
- 42:11prison and 50 grand if he gets like the slapped with the worst
- 42:15of it. Which it's very rare that you
- 42:17get the maximum but right still. And he claimed Nickelodeon
- 42:22actually emailed it to him, which again, we've we've done
- 42:26this. That's not.
- 42:27That's not how. That works.
- 42:29Yeah, it doesn't happen. We're not just emailing it to a
- 42:31random e-mail address. E-mail file.
- 42:33If they e-mail the link to get it from somewhere you then I
- 42:37think that's why it's unauthorized access, because you
- 42:39know you're not supposed to have access to that, yes.
- 42:43But also it just seems weird that someone would have emailed
- 42:46this random person a link and that, but I don't say he would.
- 42:49There's more to it than that. There's kind of, I don't know.
- 42:52And yeah, but anyway, point being he got arrested.
- 42:57Don't ruin movies for people. Well, not only Yeah, it's not
- 43:01ruining movies for for people. It's more than that.
- 43:04It's like theatre release now because it's basically the
- 43:08movies. Just it's kind of, I don't know,
- 43:10it's just not. It's already out there, so
- 43:12they're not doing the theatre release anymore.
- 43:13Because. Yeah, because.
- 43:14Everyone's going to watch it. The people who are who would
- 43:18have gone are already, I'm, I'm not an Airbender fan, but I'm
- 43:22saying that the people who were going to go to theatre, they've
- 43:24already seen it now. Yeah, and then and then, like, I
- 43:27don't know, you'd say, oh, you know, like crummy reverse, it's
- 43:30the movie. But no, no, no.
- 43:31People worked really hard on this and they had a release plan
- 43:33and everything like that. And then now this person has
- 43:35just like shoved it on the Internet in a kind of shitty
- 43:38way. And then people are going to
- 43:39watch it and now they won't go see it.
- 43:41And it's just kind. Of what their contracts are,
- 43:44their contracts may have been tied into like you do this work
- 43:46and you get a bonus at the end tied into how the movie performs
- 43:49and. Now.
- 43:50Yeah, exactly. I think we did the work.
- 43:52Yeah, yeah, it happens with games a lot.
- 43:55Yeah. So yeah, I don't know, could
- 43:58this could have done some damage for people's careers?
- 44:01Like it's not it's. It's not just AI know, it's
- 44:04just. A movie, but but you know, it's
- 44:06it's it messes with people when you just shit like.
- 44:08People would have worked on this for years.
- 44:11Yeah. Anyway, we'll listen next week
- 44:15for our review of Angry Last Evan.
- 44:19I'm going to tell you now I don't like it.
- 44:21Really. I'm not even a fan.
- 44:23I've never. There's only one thing I like
- 44:27about the Airbender. What?
- 44:32We released, they released the Airbender game on the Xbox 360,
- 44:36Yeah. Or the original 1.
- 44:39I think it was the original 1 but all you did was you had to
- 44:42spam the X button for like 5 seconds at the start of the game
- 44:45and unlocked all the achievements and then you could
- 44:47return the game. What?
- 44:49Fuck off. That's when they started looking
- 44:51at bringing in rules for achievements that you actually
- 44:53have to. It unlocked all the
- 44:56achievements. All the achievements, all you
- 44:58had to do was get like A50 combo or something.
- 45:01That's ridiculous. Did you play as a girl or a guy?
- 45:05I think look back then you could only just play, play as him.
- 45:08Oh, OK. Well, it'd be two different.
- 45:09There's two eras of Avatar the Last Airbender.
- 45:12There's two sets of shows. I was just showing.
- 45:14I know I I played the Legend of Korra game.
- 45:17I didn't know there was an an Ang.
- 45:21Oh yeah, so it's overtired The Last Airbender, the burning
- 45:24Earth. OK.
- 45:26Yep. So yeah, to get Unlock all the
- 45:30gamers score you need to achieve a hit counter of 50 and it's
- 45:35been 1020304050. And that's it.
- 45:38So I got the first achievement on the 3rd of August 2008 at
- 45:431421. Yeah.
- 45:45And I got the last achievement on the 3rd of August 2008 at
- 45:491554, so it did take me half an hour.
- 45:52And did you return the game? I I no this is back in the times
- 45:56where you used you were able to hire games from video stalls.
- 45:59Oh, right. OK.
- 46:02So I didn't buy. Clearly they got their money
- 46:04from that. Anyway, I hired SO.
- 46:07Rental copies work differently, yes.
- 46:09Well, I don't know if they actually did, although I know a
- 46:13few video stores that just go and buy a copy.
- 46:15Oh, maybe. They were supposed to.
- 46:17They were supposed to. My rental copy, I remember I
- 46:20back in the day, I was trying to figure out how this this is a
- 46:22long time ago trying to figure out I want to figure out just
- 46:28rental movies versus downloading movies and there was a
- 46:31conversation online about it anyway and I I acted Edgar
- 46:37Wright. On.
- 46:38Twitter to ask a question about people buy.
- 46:42I think there's something something about people.
- 46:45If the rental company buys a copy of Shaun of the Dead, do
- 46:48they pay more for it? And he replied to me and said
- 46:50yes, yes, so yeah. Yeah, I, I, I knew that as well
- 46:54because they were getting a different copy of the video that
- 46:58you'd buy, and they actually hadn't paid much for it as well.
- 47:01Yeah, and back in the. Day it was.
- 47:03Also it wasn't cheap like each copy would cost them like $100.
- 47:07Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's actually quite a
- 47:09substantial bit more for them to get Avhs.
- 47:14But you think games maybe not. I think games, a lot of times
- 47:18they were just going and buying a copy of the game and slapping
- 47:21a sticker on it because there's no trailers, there's no nothing.
- 47:25It's just a oh, you're right, it's a different.
- 47:27Yeah, you're right. It's a completely different
- 47:28print of the movie. Yeah.
- 47:30Yeah, yeah. That's a good point, didn't.
- 47:32They yeah, when you buy a, when you went out and brought like an
- 47:35actual copy, you didn't have any of the trailers or anything.
- 47:37Like that? Well, they started to do that.
- 47:40But then fucking annoying. Then we went to DVD and now, now
- 47:43we don't even have DVDs anymore. No.
- 47:48So now we don't get behind the scenes footage anymore.
- 47:51That's true. I found I've got a lot of DVDs
- 47:54in the basement and I was looking for ones in particular.
- 47:56I was looking for the Penny Arcade, the series DVDs in fact,
- 48:01and that was one thing. I was looking through them and I
- 48:05was like, Oh yeah, I've got this on DVD.
- 48:06And then on the back I was like, oh, it's got a bunch of extra
- 48:08stuff on it. Like yeah, you don't you in on
- 48:11iTunes. Sometimes you do get that stuff,
- 48:14but yeah, like, but I think not all of it.
- 48:16And then? It's very rare that you get it.
- 48:18DVDs had a lot of extra stuff on them.
- 48:20Yeah, and you go through and sometimes you'd be watching how
- 48:23they made the film. You'd be watching.
- 48:25Sometimes more content than in the movie, like longer amount of
- 48:29stuff like. But now you don't get that, or
- 48:32very rarely do you get that. And even though I've purchased
- 48:35some stuff that does have extras, I've never worked out
- 48:37how to play it. Right, yeah, iTunes has a thing
- 48:40called iTunes Extras. And.
- 48:43Which is how you do it on there. So I've seen, I've seen that
- 48:46before. But like things like, you know,
- 48:48the directors commentaries and all that kind of stuff.
- 48:50And like, sometimes they include them as audio tracks, but like
- 48:53DVDs, it always had that, but almost always.
- 48:58Whereas now that was just not. Yeah, that was the normal.
- 49:00Now it's the. It.
- 49:03Lost a lot when we went to digital.
- 49:06Yeah. That's why a lot of people are
- 49:08going back to physical hardware, especially now, because.
- 49:11You don't actually taking things away from you too.
- 49:13Yes, the one thing I still want to find out is when they take
- 49:17stuff away, if they ever do get the license to come back,
- 49:20doesn't that automatically go back into your library or not?
- 49:23Fucking won't. I mean, you pay for it again,
- 49:27Apple News. Apple, yes.
- 49:30I don't know. Well, you may not have much to
- 49:31say about this. I've a couple of things to say
- 49:33about this. What have Apple done?
- 49:37Tim Cook is gone. He is stepping down as CEO of
- 49:42Apple. He has been CEO of Apple ever
- 49:46since Steve Jobs made him CEO right before he died.
- 49:50He's been CEO of Apple for a very, very long time and he's
- 49:53been very successful financially.
- 49:56He made some questionable decisions for the company in
- 50:00general. They've got a big reliance on
- 50:01China now for manufacturing in a way that they didn't, which is
- 50:06kind of a problem and they're trying to get out of that.
- 50:10But he he's arguably done a lot the company's fucking killing it
- 50:15financially, but they've also there's, there's some been some
- 50:18issues related to that. I think less of a focus on
- 50:22making good shit than. Yeah, they've gone a bit weird
- 50:25again recently. Yeah, well, so he's stepping
- 50:29down and John Turnus will be taking over.
- 50:31He was the senior vice president of hardware engineering, which
- 50:35is arguably the area Apple does best these days.
- 50:40The hardware is sick at the moment currently, like, they
- 50:46make good stuff. The Apple Silicon is, like,
- 50:48incredible. I think the laptops are the best
- 50:51they've ever been. They killed off the Mac Pro
- 50:55recently, which is a shame, but it just, it's not doesn't fit
- 50:59with their current, you know, what they're doing currently.
- 51:02So maybe he'll do a good job, but hopefully he'll do things a
- 51:07little differently. Yes.
- 51:09That's all we're. Hoping Tim Cook, he's going to
- 51:12get to retire with all his money and go and enjoy it.
- 51:14No, he's still going to stay on as this is the thing too.
- 51:17The other thing Tim Cook's been doing that people didn't like
- 51:20was is sucking up to the current administration, like giving
- 51:27giving Trump that gold statue and stuff.
- 51:30And people are like, why are you doing that?
- 51:32And it's like, well, he's playing the game.
- 51:34Like he's doing what's best for the company.
- 51:36Like, I mean, it's hard to argue that that's true.
- 51:39Like they got exemptions from tariffs because he gave Trump a
- 51:42statue. Like it's gross, but it worked
- 51:47like so. And people are like, well,
- 51:49hopefully John Turners won't do that stuff.
- 51:51Well, Tim Cook's staying on as what is the role going to be?
- 51:58He'll be executive chairman and people are saying that he'll
- 52:01still probably handle that stuff.
- 52:04That stuff the dealing with. Because it seems like he's like,
- 52:07good at it in the end. He's already in the club.
- 52:12Yes, and I heard someone say it also protects John Turnus from
- 52:17doing that stuff. So then, you know, this
- 52:22administration will end at some point, hopefully there are
- 52:26rumours that they don't want to, but you know, in theory this
- 52:30administration will end and then John Turnus can can then not
- 52:35have participated in stuff, you know what I'm saying?
- 52:38Yeah, he still keeps his hands clean.
- 52:41Yes, exactly. So I heard a theory that Tim
- 52:43Cook's going to stay on and do that stuff for that reason.
- 52:50So I reckon why'd she get to certain age?
- 52:52She'd made enough money, she'd just retire and let other
- 52:54people. Do he has so much fucking money
- 52:56I'm guaranteed yeah, but. Like he's got enough money that
- 53:01he, well, if your daughter had that type of money, she'd never
- 53:06have to work in a day in her life and neither would her
- 53:08children. And neither would I, I I would
- 53:10hope. Be nice to her.
- 53:13Yeah, yeah. So yeah, I mean not known for as
- 53:19many products, revolutionary products as Steve Jobs, he.
- 53:24Just sort of kept everything just going along and.
- 53:28But definitely took the company financially to a whole new level
- 53:33which. He had a brought stock in Apple
- 53:35just before. Like the iPhone or the iPod?
- 53:39Yeah, I didn't understand stocks and stuff.
- 53:41Back No, I still don't understand stocks.
- 53:43Can you imagine? I mean, I guess are we supposed
- 53:45to disclose that I've got, I own Apple stock disclosure, I own
- 53:49Apple stock, I do, but I didn't back then.
- 53:53I I still don't understand stocks but but imagine you had
- 53:56got them when they were worth nothing.
- 54:00Yeah, Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 54:02I, I often think I should have bought more Bitcoin back in the
- 54:05day, but yeah. How would you know how well you
- 54:07don't? Some people knew.
- 54:08But did they? Did they know or did they?
- 54:09Get well, I still. It's gambling I.
- 54:11Still don't. It's it is.
- 54:13It's especially Bitcoin. Bitcoin.
- 54:15But the thing about Bitcoin is that the thing that bugs me
- 54:18about not having bought Bitcoin is that I could have.
- 54:19You didn't even have to buy that much of it back when when I
- 54:24literally there's I've got a Bitcoin wallet somewhere that
- 54:27I've lost that had some money in it.
- 54:29I wonder what the fuck that's worth now because it jumped up
- 54:32so much like. Well, I know someone I think was
- 54:37playing around Bitcoin and just back in the day when he was kind
- 54:39of like, if it dropped below $300, he'd buy a few and he was
- 54:43selling it like live. And so, like, I think he stole
- 54:46them all when he went to get a deposit for a house.
- 54:49But it's all like, yeah, not sure we had to hold on.
- 54:51But when do you know when to sell?
- 54:52I, I have, I've made, I mean, I probably made $1000 off the
- 55:00Bitcoin that I bought and it, but it could have been so much
- 55:02more. But how do I just?
- 55:04Put an extra 100 bucks in there. Like you know, 100 bucks and
- 55:07then just left it. Because this, I, I did it back
- 55:10when it was worth literally just fuck all.
- 55:12Like there's nothing. And then, yeah.
- 55:16But yeah, but when do you know when to sell?
- 55:18And also you can never, you can never buy anything with or I
- 55:23would never accept Bitcoin for a service.
- 55:26No, because or or selling anything because you could sell.
- 55:30I've seen some people go, we accept Bitcoin for a house.
- 55:34I'm so like, you could get the money for the house and then the
- 55:37next day that bitcoins dropped $20,000 because someone, Elon
- 55:40Musk, said something and he lost all that money.
- 55:43That's what's weird about it is it's not supposed to be that
- 55:45volatile. It was supposed to be a currency
- 55:47and then like it's become an investment thing.
- 55:50It's just odd that it happened this way.
- 55:52Like it's yeah, exactly. It's no, it's no use for as a
- 55:55currency at the. Moment.
- 55:56No, but that was the idea behind it was to replace money.
- 56:01Because you're absolutely right, you could.
- 56:03The value of it could have tomorrow.
- 56:06Just because someone on the Internet said something?
- 56:09Who had? Because Elon Musk says something
- 56:11and then. Yeah.
- 56:13Yeah, it's fascinating. I'm too scared to touch it,
- 56:17especially now It's worth. You couldn't even afford to buy
- 56:20an entire coin. No, no, it's I think right now
- 56:24it's 70 something. Which is actually.
- 56:27Down. It was over 100 grand.
- 56:28Oh. My God.
- 56:29Last year. Yeah, you, you can't use it as
- 56:32anything. You just got to put money in,
- 56:34take money out when you want to use it.
- 56:36It's being treated as like a investment, but it's weird
- 56:39because there's no. Investing in anything.
- 56:42There's exactly, there's technically no reason it needs
- 56:45to keep going up. It is going up.
- 56:47And then down. People are willing to pay more
- 56:49for it. Yeah, it's just, it's weird.
- 56:51There's nothing backing it, there's nothing behind it.
- 56:53It's just numbers. It's yeah.
- 56:55I guess people argue that's the same as anything else, but.
- 56:58But I think if you like at least with stocks or something,
- 57:01there's a business behind it that.
- 57:03Right. You're putting money into.
- 57:05Yeah, the business does something.
- 57:07Produces something. They're doing something.
- 57:10Yeah, Bitcoin. Doesn't there is?
- 57:12Yeah, Bitcoin's just there. Yeah.
- 57:15Let's get off this. It's suppressing that we never
- 57:17brought Bitcoin or Apple stocks back then.
- 57:19Movie stuff, yes. Oh, hang on.
- 57:21TV stuff first. This one's interesting.
- 57:23This is follow up to Technically.
- 57:25Gina Carano says she's talked to Favreau and Filoni about coming
- 57:31back, baby. OK, now is this an actual talk
- 57:35or is this like Ryan Johnson talking?
- 57:37She says, so. This is coming from her, so
- 57:40grain of salt because, well, I think it's interesting.
- 57:43It might be true, She says, I've already had conversation with
- 57:46Feloni and Favreau. Really lovely.
- 57:48You know, after we settled the lawsuit, we got onto a Zoom
- 57:51call. It was really nice.
- 57:53Dave was taking over as CEO of Star Wars.
- 57:55We didn't miss a beat. Jon Favreau was really funny.
- 57:58He was like, so where did we leave off?
- 58:01That just sounds so awkward to me.
- 58:03But then again I was like OK, but did with Feloni and Favreau
- 58:07not involved in firing her, that might be true.
- 58:10That that probably is true because I think it would have
- 58:12come from more higher up, yeah, higher up to go, hey, we don't
- 58:16want to be associated with this. Yeah, because I was reading this
- 58:18and I was just like, man, that sounds so awkward.
- 58:21But I guess yeah, maybe. Maybe.
- 58:23The shows they had designed for her have all been cancelled.
- 58:26Right. But part of her lawsuit was that
- 58:29she wanted them to have to hire her back.
- 58:32Like it was here we go fired last year.
- 58:35The lawsuit alleged she was fired for voicing right wing
- 58:38opinions on social media, which I think is true.
- 58:41Well, well, actually not even right wing.
- 58:43It was it was it was stuff about it was Holocaust stuff.
- 58:47It was weird. Yeah.
- 58:48It was weird. Not stuff that Dizzy wants to be
- 58:50known for, right? And she sought a court order
- 58:54that Wood Forest Lucasfilm to recast her, which is I just
- 59:01think that's really interesting. I don't think he could actually
- 59:03win that loss like you can't. She did win, but I guess she.
- 59:06Didn't. Well, no, they settled.
- 59:07Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
- 59:08Yes, you're right. They settled.
- 59:09We don't know what they actually did agree on, but I don't think,
- 59:13look, I don't think Cora would go no, you have to go back and
- 59:16make his television show worth millions so you could hire her
- 59:19back. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:22So anyway, they apparently are in talks to bring her back,
- 59:27which I think is I don't. Know, I don't, I don't know, I
- 59:31think. I.
- 59:33Don't people? I don't know if she's reading a
- 59:34lot into this or the article is, but this just doesn't seem like
- 59:38a. Whether it's true, I, I recall
- 59:42actually, I don't remember the specifics of what she said, but
- 59:45it was, it was not good what she said very.
- 59:50Very controversial. Very.
- 59:51Controversial and in my very wrong in my mind, what she was
- 59:55saying and I think broadly that's what people think is that
- 1:00:00she was saying a bunch of I guess offensive is maybe the
- 1:00:06word. So I don't I don't see why
- 1:00:09Disney would bring her back because because that's like
- 1:00:13people don't want her back. The audience don't want her
- 1:00:16back. I would I I think.
- 1:00:17That's my sense of it. Well, The thing is I don't know
- 1:00:21what what what are they working? On at the moment.
- 1:00:23So to get it the, I think the Mandalorian Grogu story, which
- 1:00:27is still the worst name for a movie ever.
- 1:00:30Yeah, yeah, that's, I think going to finish up The
- 1:00:33Mandalorian. I have a feeling that people
- 1:00:35have sort of moved on from that. Yeah.
- 1:00:38I have one of the shows that I have on the fly at the moment.
- 1:00:41Yeah, I, I don't know. That's a good point.
- 1:00:43Yeah, exactly what we should even be in like her character.
- 1:00:47Wouldn't, because there's nothing.
- 1:00:48For her character to show up. In they were going to have her
- 1:00:50sort of be a mercenary and all going to have like the X Wing
- 1:00:54pilots. I think there was going to be a
- 1:00:55spin off with them and that was cancelled.
- 1:00:58Because I think in Favre, say recently there was going to be
- 1:01:02another season of The Mandalorian that would tie into
- 1:01:05Ahsoka and I was like, fucking stop tying everything together.
- 1:01:09But but so I guess if they had done that.
- 1:01:15Maybe she could have made an appearance in that, but yeah,
- 1:01:19what? She wasn't even in that many
- 1:01:21episodes of The Mandalorian, was she?
- 1:01:22She was only in like 3 or 4. Oh I think she was in more than
- 1:01:26that anyway. And also it's not that she was
- 1:01:28bad in the show or anything like.
- 1:01:29That no I got. No issues with her performance
- 1:01:31or with her character like her character.
- 1:01:33It's mine. Occur.
- 1:01:35It's just that, that, that she yeah, like I said, yeah, she got
- 1:01:39this. She was tweeting this stuff.
- 1:01:41And then now I think people think, Oh yeah, she's a bit of a
- 1:01:43bit of an idiot. They don't want her in stuff, so
- 1:01:46why would they want her in? Stuff.
- 1:01:48I'm still looking at this this article.
- 1:01:50I don't believe that she'll be back.
- 1:01:54I think they might have had a conversation and said, Oh yeah,
- 1:01:58you know, maybe, you know, if the opportunity comes up because
- 1:02:00they know that the opportunity is not going to come up because
- 1:02:03they're not doing these shows anymore.
- 1:02:05I don't. Know.
- 1:02:05Yeah, that's what I'm also thinking.
- 1:02:08I don't know. Yeah.
- 1:02:10And it's tough, right? Because I just find it hard to
- 1:02:17reconcile the dumb shit she was saying with the fact that people
- 1:02:21go, oh, she's quite nice. It's like, yeah, but she why
- 1:02:25would she say that stuff? Don't you?
- 1:02:26Say that then if she was. Anyway, whatever.
- 1:02:32Yeah, we'll wait and see. I I don't think she'll be back.
- 1:02:36That's my prediction. Yeah, I don't either.
- 1:02:41Something that we'll be back is Avengers End Game.
- 1:02:43We'll be back in theaters I believe re release of Avengers
- 1:02:48End Game with extra stuff to tie it into the new movie.
- 1:02:53The Doom movie Avengers Doomsday.
- 1:02:57OK. They're adding in.
- 1:03:01The way they're phrasing it is that, Oh yeah, we've got this
- 1:03:04extra stuff that we had that that we didn't put in before,
- 1:03:08but it's actually, it leads right into it because making it
- 1:03:11sound like it was planned. Planned.
- 1:03:13Not that we had to scramble to replace.
- 1:03:15Yeah, because, you know, the plan was to have Jonathan Majors
- 1:03:18like gang, and then he got arrested for beating up his
- 1:03:22girlfriend. That's what happened.
- 1:03:23Yes. And then you had to fucking
- 1:03:25figure something else out. And the only thing you could
- 1:03:28come up with with bringing Robert Downey Junior back.
- 1:03:30Exactly because you everyone was in a panic.
- 1:03:33That's what at least that's what I I'm pretty sure that's what
- 1:03:35happened yes, but now they've they've said that it's going to
- 1:03:40have extra footage then to re release, which will tide in
- 1:03:42which is I mean it's fine, it's fine I.
- 1:03:45Wonder how much extra footage there's going to be though.
- 1:03:48I don't. It's fine to do that.
- 1:03:49I just don't think whether they're saying this or other
- 1:03:54people are saying this that like it's, it's stuff that they
- 1:03:56already had. Come on.
- 1:03:57No, I don't think so. No, there's no one.
- 1:04:00Unless. Unless they just found stuff
- 1:04:03they hadn't used anyway. Yeah, I don't.
- 1:04:04Yeah, and they just went, oh, we can maybe claim that this was.
- 1:04:08Right. That.
- 1:04:10Yeah, it's just. Funny, but there's no way not
- 1:04:13planned, no way not a chance. No, but September 25th End Game
- 1:04:18will be back in theaters with some extra footage apparently.
- 1:04:21I think I'll just wait for the extra footage.
- 1:04:24Yeah. Oh, I'll just won't worry about
- 1:04:27it. I've seen end game.
- 1:04:30It was very good at the time. Yeah.
- 1:04:31I feel like I'm not going to just watch end game, I'm going
- 1:04:33to want to watch at least Infinity War again if I watch
- 1:04:37end game and then I don't. Know, yeah, Where do you get a
- 1:04:40long movie start from? I'm old and I've got a kid,
- 1:04:45Right? Exactly.
- 1:04:46Don't go back to fucking Iron Man.
- 1:04:48Yeah. And go from there.
- 1:04:49Don't have time for that. So we'll wait and see the what's
- 1:04:56the So what's the next movie that's out in the Marvel
- 1:04:58Universe, actually? I think it's doomsday, isn't?
- 1:05:01It is it. Is it the next one?
- 1:05:03What is the next Marvel movie? Oh, Spider Man brand new day is.
- 1:05:09First. Oh yes, that's soon though.
- 1:05:11Yeah, yeah, I'm not. The trailer for that didn't grab
- 1:05:16me either, even though it's got Spider Man characters so that I
- 1:05:18like like scorpions in it I think.
- 1:05:21This one. Scorpion I.
- 1:05:22Think I remember the trailer popped up and it sort of shocked
- 1:05:24me that that was so close because I hadn't really heard
- 1:05:27anything about it. Yeah, because that plot got a
- 1:05:32bit weird, right where he had to wipe his own existence out.
- 1:05:34Yeah, I know. It's kind of it's it's weird.
- 1:05:37Like it went in a weird direction.
- 1:05:38I don't know why they did that. Because they wanted to get Tobey
- 1:05:45Maguire and Andrew Garfield in. Yes.
- 1:05:49So they. Yeah, I don't know, maybe it's a
- 1:05:55good movie. I just, it's just it hasn't
- 1:05:57grabbed me yet, I guess. Yep, the first one was very
- 1:06:00good. No, I I think he's a great
- 1:06:03spider man. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:05And like it's there. Maybe Michael Keaton's in it.
- 1:06:08Actually, if it's because it's Scorpion, I think is in the
- 1:06:10prison with him at the end of the first one.
- 1:06:12Maybe Mark Keaton's in as well. Yeah, maybe it'll be.
- 1:06:14It'll be great. I don't know.
- 1:06:15I don't. Know Michael Keaton I I loved
- 1:06:17his character yeah like he actually he actually felt for
- 1:06:20him that's. What I mean, I, I watched this
- 1:06:22trailer for for the new one and I was like, that didn't grab me.
- 1:06:25But then like, I don't think the trailer for the first one
- 1:06:28grabbed me that much either, because it's not like after all
- 1:06:31the really high stakes Avengers stuff, it seems smaller.
- 1:06:36And this, this seems smaller. You know what I mean?
- 1:06:39Which maybe that's actually a good thing.
- 1:06:40It's just, yeah. And I'm just saying that the
- 1:06:43slate they've got coming up is they've got an X-Men Movie,
- 1:06:46Black Panther, three Avengers versus X-Men Ghost Rider, which
- 1:06:51the rumor is Ryan Gosling. There's a there's a rumor Ryan
- 1:06:56Gosling is Ghost Rider, which. All right.
- 1:07:00He really isn't everything again, isn't he?
- 1:07:01I'm. I'm a I'm a Brian Gossing fan.
- 1:07:05He's fine, Fine by me. Put him.
- 1:07:06In he was great in Barbie. He's great in Barbie, he was
- 1:07:09great in Project Hell Mary, he's great in everything.
- 1:07:12Yeah, he's, but he's really just come back from nowhere.
- 1:07:14He sort of was a big star, I think went away for a little bit
- 1:07:17and now he's back. He's like, he's just like doing
- 1:07:21his own thing. I feel like either either he is
- 1:07:24or that's the, that's the vibe I get from him, which maybe that's
- 1:07:27like intentional, but it just feels like he's just, he's just
- 1:07:31doing his own thing. He's just a cool guy doing what
- 1:07:34he wants to do. If you could have a bee, I'd
- 1:07:36have a beer with him. Oh yeah.
- 1:07:37But on his diet he cannot have. Maybe it would lead to something
- 1:07:40more, who knows. We can only hope.
- 1:07:43But you know where I'm going to lead you to something more.
- 1:07:47That would be the after party I'm guessing.
