- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Mark Simone Show Live from the
- 0:03Speaker 1: wr Life Back Studios. Well, Rob Shooter, the great writer columnist.
- 0:10Speaker 1: You know his last book was the big best seller.
- 0:13Speaker 1: He's got a new book coming out and you can
- 0:15Speaker 1: pre order it right now. It's a new novel called
- 0:18Speaker 1: Queen Elizabeth the Third. Queen Elizabeth, IID go pre order
- 0:23Speaker 1: where we get books? Amazon? Wherever? Rob Shooter's new novel.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Rob Shooter, how you doing?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Hey?
- 0:29Speaker 3: Mark?
- 0:30Speaker 2: I said, it's a curious title, isn't it, Queen Elizabeth
- 0:32Speaker 2: the Third?
- 0:34Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 0:34Speaker 2: It's set fifteen years in the future, So we skipped
- 0:38Speaker 2: forward to twenty forty and there's.
- 0:41Speaker 3: A new royal on the throne and.
- 0:44Speaker 2: The person who is sitting with the crown on their
- 0:47Speaker 2: head is going to surprise show.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Don't don't tell me?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Their name is Megan, Not Megan but Baby Baby, Megan's daughter.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Why what what most trouble with this?
- 1:06Speaker 2: It's so delicious to write so that it starts with
- 1:09Speaker 2: an awful accident above Belle Moral and I literally wipe
- 1:12Speaker 2: out the royal.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Family, and then they have to follow.
- 1:15Speaker 2: The line of succession and they follow the lion and
- 1:18Speaker 2: the person that ends up ultimately being queen is Elizabeth
- 1:22Speaker 2: lili Vers, and that's how the novel starts.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I'm not giving it all away.
- 1:26Speaker 2: The novel starts with Lilibet's on the throne and her
- 1:29Speaker 2: mother might be jealous, her mother might not like this.
- 1:33Speaker 3: What will Harry do? Like?
- 1:35Speaker 2: That's what I'm playing it. So it's a fantasy book.
- 1:37Speaker 2: It's not real, but it's a fantasy book about the future.
- 1:40Speaker 1: That's called Queen Elizabeth II. You can pre order it now. Hey,
- 1:43Speaker 1: you're the big you're the best royal expert. What the
- 1:48Speaker 1: hell do these people do all day?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Like preach William I don't have a lovely life. They
- 1:52Speaker 2: don't do anything. They watched Damson with the Stars. They
- 1:55Speaker 2: have a great live.
- 1:57Speaker 3: They have some.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Official functions that they do, but honestly, they don't do
- 2:01Speaker 2: the hours and hours of work that most people have
- 2:05Speaker 2: to do to pay their rent. And so it's a
- 2:07Speaker 2: lovely life, which is why when they fight them there silly,
- 2:11Speaker 2: it's so getty because women give everything to have to
- 2:15Speaker 2: have a life like this, and they didn't get it
- 2:17Speaker 2: because of any skills. They were born into this job,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and so they should all shut up and do a
- 2:23Speaker 2: little bit more work. And be grateful. But that isn't
- 2:26Speaker 2: the way this family works, which is why it's so
- 2:29Speaker 2: delicious for people like you and me and everybody else
- 2:32Speaker 2: to write about them and talk about them.
- 2:34Speaker 1: What's it pretty? Charles kind of the exception, though he
- 2:36Speaker 1: really did go out and work on projects and charity.
- 2:39Speaker 3: He does. He does. He definitely is involved in the community.
- 2:43Speaker 3: He has projects that he cares about.
- 2:45Speaker 2: The one that actually works the hardest, the one that
- 2:47Speaker 2: does the most official engagement teacher, it's not William, it's
- 2:51Speaker 2: not paid, it's not Charles, it's and and the hardest
- 2:54Speaker 2: work in Royal if you look at her schedule every
- 2:58Speaker 2: day or so every few days, going to a charity
- 3:01Speaker 2: or to a hosty tour, to a county fairs. And
- 3:04Speaker 2: the workhorse in that family, the younger ones, which I
- 3:07Speaker 2: think is probably a testament to the whole society, not
- 3:11Speaker 2: quite the workhorses that their parents are.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah, so Harry and Meghan, the schedule would be like lunched.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, they do a meeting, maybe a fit in,
- 3:24Speaker 2: maybe a lunch, Maybe might make a cave, they might
- 3:27Speaker 2: do a TikTok video.
- 3:29Speaker 3: It's like the life of an influencer.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It's a precious life they have and they should be
- 3:35Speaker 2: more grateful for it. But now we do have the
- 3:38Speaker 2: latest chapter of the soap opera Arion. They be returning
- 3:41Speaker 2: to Britain. I can't quite figure out why I've been
- 3:43Speaker 2: hidding the phones. There was some talk that she was
- 3:46Speaker 2: going over there for film, the TV show and Netflix show.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I spoke to the producers. I spoke to people.
- 3:51Speaker 2: On the show, and they told me that Carbetrary because
- 3:54Speaker 2: the show hasn't been green licked yet, there even no show,
- 3:58Speaker 2: so her being tasked.
- 3:59Speaker 3: On the third season.
- 4:01Speaker 2: But the Gentleman doesn't make it again because that isn't
- 4:04Speaker 2: a third season yet. So if they're not going to work,
- 4:07Speaker 2: they're Another skin that they're pushing quite hard is that
- 4:10Speaker 2: they're going to the King this stiff and they want
- 4:12Speaker 2: to spend time with the family. Now, a problem with
- 4:14Speaker 2: that argument. They didn't tell the king until a couple
- 4:17Speaker 2: of days ago, and so if they really were going
- 4:20Speaker 2: to the king, they might have mentioned.
- 4:22Speaker 3: It to him when they had been with him. So
- 4:24Speaker 3: my excaurces are telling me it's financial.
- 4:27Speaker 2: It's about money. The dream that these two wanted and
- 4:31Speaker 2: believed they deserved didn't happen. The Netflix was a disaster,
- 4:35Speaker 2: Her podcast was a disaster. Her jam collection is a
- 4:39Speaker 2: very sticky pud intended And so they're going back to
- 4:42Speaker 2: Britain so hopefully make some money.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Good luck.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Hey, So if Beth Andy Frankel can make money with
- 4:50Speaker 1: her store, with her products, how come these two idiots.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Why can't they come up.
- 4:55Speaker 3: With anything because they've never.
- 5:00Speaker 2: If we think it's been done for them, particularly him,
- 5:03Speaker 2: the victors claims are a great success because he launched
- 5:07Speaker 2: them when he was still a member of the Palace.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I mean, you're a member of the palace.
- 5:11Speaker 2: There's hundreds of very capable people who are unstaffed to
- 5:14Speaker 2: do all the work. When you lose that job, all
- 5:18Speaker 2: those purchaser look at Holder. Holder was fantastic on the Today.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So she left her to day Ja and now her
- 5:24Speaker 2: apper lifestyle app is falling apart because she doesn't have
- 5:27Speaker 2: all those producers around her doing the work.
- 5:30Speaker 3: It's really important to surround yourself.
- 5:32Speaker 2: With good people, and Harry and Meghan have done the
- 5:35Speaker 2: opposite of place.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Hey, give us the latest on Hayden Penetier. What do
- 5:40Speaker 1: we know about.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Yeah, we know there's going to be some morest soon.
- 5:44Speaker 2: The prods are really closing in on this report for
- 5:46Speaker 2: in the bad news he was speaking in jail domestic
- 5:49Speaker 2: abuse allegations, talking allegations.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Now Hayden's mom.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Is telling the police to look at him as a
- 5:57Speaker 2: new report today that he recently spotted pouring some of
- 6:02Speaker 2: her jewelry her guitar. Now we have a neighbor of
- 6:05Speaker 2: theirs in Hollywood saying in La saying that she was
- 6:09Speaker 2: taken out of the home twice on a stretcher, and
- 6:11Speaker 2: so I think people are really certain. This is a
- 6:13Speaker 2: big question too, is now this knocking? Why was there
- 6:17Speaker 2: knarking there? I don't know anybody that has knarkin that
- 6:19Speaker 2: isn't a real serious drug dealer, throug addicts or a
- 6:24Speaker 2: member of services, the ambulance guys and ladies, and so.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Lots of questions.
- 6:30Speaker 2: The good news about this is I'm told all the
- 6:32Speaker 2: videos for each around the complex where they were staying
- 6:36Speaker 2: has all been seized by the police, So now I'll
- 6:39Speaker 2: know who went in, who went out, and what happened
- 6:41Speaker 2: in that apartment. There's only two or three people there,
- 6:44Speaker 2: so they've got a lot of questions that they need
- 6:47Speaker 2: to answer.
- 6:47Speaker 1: That's good to hear. Hey, Melissa Gilbert boy, she's a
- 6:50Speaker 1: busy lecturing Hollywead.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Husband as did the Cheers, of sexually harassing young boys.
- 6:58Speaker 2: That's the accusation there. I've been preven yet, but that's
- 7:01Speaker 2: why we have a thought system. So while harperspleened is
- 7:04Speaker 2: under this real ugly cloud of suspicion and some serious allegations,
- 7:09Speaker 2: Melstenas have decided that she exists of the perfect moment
- 7:12Speaker 2: to lecture Hollywood about short child stars and how they've
- 7:16Speaker 2: been protection.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Melissa, if you're listening, it's a great message. You're the
- 7:20Speaker 3: wrong messenger.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Shut up, you could on need you lecturing anybody about
- 7:25Speaker 2: children and abuse while.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Your husband has been accusing these really ugly things. They
- 7:29Speaker 3: actually laugh, doesn't it?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Because these Hollywood people they've got to help themselves.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Like any chance.
- 7:34Speaker 2: They have for John Pierson to promote a cause, to
- 7:38Speaker 2: attach their name to something, they do it.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Where often they'd be better after shutting down.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Well, hey we're talking Rob Shooter. Hey, our friend Wendy Williams,
- 7:48Speaker 1: she's a listener in this show. She might even be listening,
- 7:50Speaker 1: but we love Wendy Williams. What's going on with her?
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah, poor lady, a friend of mine too.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I've known her for yours as a regular guest from
- 7:58Speaker 2: her talk show, her TV shirt she was spotted. We've
- 8:00Speaker 2: not seen Wendy in a few months, but we finally
- 8:03Speaker 2: spotted her over the weekend. She's still in her facility
- 8:06Speaker 2: on the West Side. A camera crew asked her what
- 8:09Speaker 2: she wanted, and she said she wants to be free.
- 8:12Speaker 2: She's sick of this conservatorship. She doesn't think she should
- 8:15Speaker 2: be under it. For a couple of years now, she's
- 8:19Speaker 2: had no control over her money and so Wendy wants out.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I hit the phones. I spoke to some lawyers and.
- 8:25Speaker 2: They said it is a slow moving process. We thought,
- 8:28Speaker 2: this is Britney Sears didn't wouldn't you have a conservatorship.
- 8:31Speaker 3: It's really hard to get out of it.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Brittany was under her for thirteen years and there's some
- 8:37Speaker 2: arguments to be made that, you know, Britney might have
- 8:40Speaker 2: been better off under the conservatorship.
- 8:42Speaker 3: So we actually careful here.
- 8:44Speaker 2: We want people to be in charge of their own
- 8:46Speaker 2: money and their own lives. But if they're going to
- 8:48Speaker 2: make bad decisions or not bad decisions, you're allowed. You're
- 8:51Speaker 2: allowed to spend your own money, you're allowed to mess
- 8:53Speaker 2: up your life. But if there's mental health issues involved,
- 8:56Speaker 2: then I think we should be careful on this one.
- 8:58Speaker 3: So best to look to Wendy. She looked words.
- 9:00Speaker 2: She's got her old spirit back and so she's listening.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Love.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Hey, sometimes she calls in. I've heard of callin and
- 9:07Speaker 1: do I love it. She sounds fine when she calls in,
- 9:10Speaker 1: she sounds perfect.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you know she's whacky when it has always been
- 9:14Speaker 2: whacky though, like she's whacked twenty years ago. And so
- 9:18Speaker 2: you know, it's a really tricky process that I think
- 9:21Speaker 2: we should all have a big conversation about. You lose
- 9:27Speaker 2: your life, you lose your bank account, you lose your
- 9:32Speaker 2: and with your inner conservatory ship to get out of it,
- 9:36Speaker 2: it's really really hard. So when he has a good lawyer,
- 9:39Speaker 2: she has good people around her, but she's still under
- 9:42Speaker 2: that conservator ship.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Bad. Yeah, well rap shoot her great stuff. Hey, everybody
- 9:47Speaker 1: get his new book. It's called Thank You, Queen Elizabeth
- 9:50Speaker 1: the Third. It's a new novel getting gotten good reviews.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You can pre order it right now, Queen Elizabeth the Third.
- 9:57Speaker 1: And then where should people go to read you?
- 9:59Speaker 3: You substance take it to day.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I have a past for iHeart radio, so I'm thinking
- 10:04Speaker 2: about the company.
- 10:04Speaker 3: iHeart Dannie Daily Show.
- 10:06Speaker 2: So wherever you listen to your podcast Naughty but Nice
- 10:09Speaker 2: to Rob and check out Queen Elizabeth, you'll be shocked.
