Speaker 1: Foreword. It cannot be said of this book that James
• 0:05
Speaker 1: Allen wrote it at any particular time or any one year,
• 0:08
Speaker 1: for he was engaged on it over many years, and
• 0:12
Speaker 1: those who have eyes to see and hearts to understand
• 0:15
Speaker 1: will find in its pages the spiritual history of his life.
• 0:19
Speaker 1: It was his own wish that The Divine Companion should
• 0:21
Speaker 1: be the last manuscript of his to be published. It
• 0:25
Speaker 1: is the story of my soul, he said, and should
• 0:27
Speaker 1: be read last of all my books, so that the
• 0:30
Speaker 1: student may understand and find my message in its pages. Therefore,
• 0:35
Speaker 1: hold it back until you have published everything else. There
• 0:39
Speaker 1: remain now only his dramatic works and a few poems
• 0:42
Speaker 1: to be included in the next edition of Poems of Peace.
• 0:46
Speaker 1: That The Divine Companion will prove a companion Indeed to
• 0:49
Speaker 1: thousands who have read his books in the past, I
• 0:52
Speaker 1: have no doubt. To read it is to hear again
• 0:55
Speaker 1: the voice of the writer, and to study its message
• 0:58
Speaker 1: is to once again sit at his feet. He trod
• 1:01
Speaker 1: the way himself, every bit of it, and he therefore
• 1:04
Speaker 1: speaks as one having authority. Lovers of James Allen's works
• 1:08
Speaker 1: will indeed be filled with joy to know that there
• 1:11
Speaker 1: is yet another book from his inspired pen, and will
• 1:14
Speaker 1: eagerly welcome the Divine Companion, Lily L. Allen Part one.
• 1:21
Speaker 1: The Divine Companion Ay, the Spirit of Truth. Am the
• 1:26
Speaker 1: friend of the forsaken, and the companion of the wise.
• 1:30
Speaker 1: I restore the one, and I gladden the other, and
• 1:33
Speaker 1: all men I protect, though they know me not. The
• 1:38
Speaker 1: Divine Companion Truth as awakener. One, rejoice, for the morning
• 1:46
Speaker 1: has dawned. The Truth has awakened us. We have opened
• 1:50
Speaker 1: our eyes, and the dark night of error is no more.
• 1:54
Speaker 1: Long have we slept in matter and sensation. Long did
• 1:58
Speaker 1: we struggle in the painful nightmare of evil. But now
• 2:02
Speaker 1: we are awake in spirit and truth. We have found
• 2:06
Speaker 1: the good, and the struggle with evil is ended. We slept,
• 2:10
Speaker 1: yet knew not that we slept. We suffered, yet knew
• 2:14
Speaker 1: not why we suffered. We were troubled in our dreaming.
• 2:18
Speaker 1: Yet none could awake us, for all were dreaming like ourselves.
• 2:23
Speaker 1: Then there came a pause in our dreaming. Our sleep
• 2:27
Speaker 1: was stayed. Truth spoke to us, and we heard, and lo,
• 2:32
Speaker 1: we opened our eyes and saw. We slumbered and saw not.
• 2:37
Speaker 1: We slept and knew not. But now we are awake
• 2:41
Speaker 1: and see. Yea, we know we are awake because we
• 2:45
Speaker 1: have seen holiness, and we loved sin. No more. We
• 2:49
Speaker 1: have beheld truth, and error has ceased to attract us. Yea,
• 2:53
Speaker 1: we have seen the truth not as a dream in
• 2:56
Speaker 1: the night, but as a reality with our awakened eyes,
• 3:00
Speaker 1: as a beautiful land afar have we seen it, and
• 3:03
Speaker 1: we shall press forward until we reach and possess it.
• 3:07
Speaker 1: How beautiful is truth? How glorious is the realm of reality?
• 3:12
Speaker 1: How ineffable is the bliss of holiness. We have abandoned
• 3:16
Speaker 1: error for truth, an illusion for reality. We have turned
• 3:20
Speaker 1: our backs on error and confusion, and have set our
• 3:23
Speaker 1: faces towards the harmony of justice and truth. Two. To
• 3:29
Speaker 1: sin is to dream, and to love sin is to
• 3:33
Speaker 1: love darkness. The awakened do not prefer dreaming to intelligent action.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: They do not choose darkness rather than light. They who
• 3:42
Speaker 1: love darkness are involved in the darkness. They have not
• 3:45
Speaker 1: yet seen the light. He who has seen the light
• 3:49
Speaker 1: does not choose to walk in darkness. To see the
• 3:52
Speaker 1: truth is to love it, And in comparison, error has
• 3:55
Speaker 1: no beauty. The dreamer is now in pleasure, now in pain,
• 4:00
Speaker 1: this hour in confidence, the next in fear. He is
• 4:04
Speaker 1: without stability and has no abiding refuge. When the monsters
• 4:08
Speaker 1: of remorse and retribution pursue him, whither can he fly?
• 4:13
Speaker 1: There is no place of safety unless he awake. Let
• 4:17
Speaker 1: the dreamer struggle with his dream. Let him strive to
• 4:20
Speaker 1: realize the illusory nature of all self seeking desire and
• 4:24
Speaker 1: lo he will open his spiritual eyes upon the world
• 4:28
Speaker 1: of light and truth. He will awake and will see
• 4:32
Speaker 1: all things in their right relations and true proportions. He
• 4:36
Speaker 1: will be happy, sane, and peaceful, seeing things as they are.
• 4:42
Speaker 1: Truth is the light of universe, the day of the mind.
• 4:45
Speaker 1: In it there is no error, no anguish, and no fear.
• 4:50
Speaker 1: He who has awakened into the light of day is
• 4:53
Speaker 1: no more burdened with the troubles of his dreams. They
• 4:56
Speaker 1: are remembered as dreams, only as illusion that are dispelled.
• 5:02
Speaker 1: The unawakened one knows neither waking nor dreaming. He is
• 5:06
Speaker 1: in confusion. He knows not himself, neither knows the others,
• 5:11
Speaker 1: and his judgment is without knowledge. The awakened one knows
• 5:15
Speaker 1: both waking and dreaming. He is established in wisdom, knowing himself,
• 5:21
Speaker 1: he knows others and he judges with knowledge. He is
• 5:25
Speaker 1: the understander, the knower of hearts, and walking in the
• 5:29
Speaker 1: light of truth, he knows that every dreamer will at
• 5:32
Speaker 1: last awake. Three. Truth awakens us out of the slumber
• 5:39
Speaker 1: of ignorance, out of the deep sleep of sin. It calls,
• 5:45
Speaker 1: and they who hear and awake become wise and blessed.
• 5:50
Speaker 1: Truth appears to men, and they see it not. It
• 5:53
Speaker 1: calls to them, and they hear not. It speaks to
• 5:56
Speaker 1: them through their actions. It cries aloud to them them
• 6:00
Speaker 1: in their sufferings. It shines upon them in all their ways,
• 6:04
Speaker 1: but they hear not. Neither do they see, for their
• 6:08
Speaker 1: ears are deaf in slumber, and their eyes are holden
• 6:11
Speaker 1: with sleep. Truth is manifest in the actions of the wise.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: Its light illuminates their precepts. But the sleeper in error
• 6:19
Speaker 1: has no eyes for the manifest, and the light of truth,
• 6:23
Speaker 1: falling upon his sleeping lids, calls forth no visual response.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: Where there is no understanding, the repetition of precepts is vain.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: Right comprehension is needed. The sinless mind is the seeing mind.
• 6:39
Speaker 1: He who has right comprehension interprets the divine precepts by
• 6:43
Speaker 1: the light of his own spotless deeds. He does not
• 6:47
Speaker 1: repeat in error, but understands by the spirit of truth.
• 6:52
Speaker 1: And this is the spirit of truth. To be free
• 6:55
Speaker 1: from sin is to abide in good deeds and to
• 6:58
Speaker 1: live in peace withal. They that do evil know not
• 7:02
Speaker 1: the truth. The truth is in them that do good.
• 7:07
Speaker 1: The deeds of truth shine like the stars at night,
• 7:10
Speaker 1: dispelling darkness. Truth reveals the everlasting good. It turns night
• 7:16
Speaker 1: to day and changes the appearance of all things, so
• 7:20
Speaker 1: that sin and sorrow are not and evil is no more.
• 7:26
  Speaker 2: Four.
• 7:28
Speaker 1: We are awake and sea, and we know. We are
• 7:31
Speaker 1: awake because we see good, and we know we are
• 7:35
Speaker 1: of the spirit of good. Because our lusts have departed
• 7:38
Speaker 1: from us, and the bondage of hatred is broken. We
• 7:42
Speaker 1: are wedded to purity. We are put on the raiment
• 7:45
Speaker 1: of righteousness, and we serve the spirit of love. Therefore
• 7:50
Speaker 1: are we awake. Therefore we know that truth has roused
• 7:54
Speaker 1: us from the sleep of evil. We are free and
• 7:57
Speaker 1: happy because we walk in the life, and we see
• 8:01
Speaker 1: all things clearly in that light, and we know the
• 8:04
Speaker 1: way we walk and whither we go. But when our
• 8:07
Speaker 1: lusts affrighted us and hatred enchained us. When darkness enfolded
• 8:12
Speaker 1: us and the dream of evil held us. Then were
• 8:16
Speaker 1: we bound and miserable. We saw only our fitful dreams.
• 8:20
Speaker 1: We knew not the way we walked, nor whither we went.
• 8:24
Speaker 1: He that hates men as evil is in sin, and
• 8:28
Speaker 1: he that is in sin is unawakened. The awakened one
• 8:32
Speaker 1: is the lover of all men, And there is no
• 8:34
Speaker 1: hatred in him. And this is the sign that he
• 8:37
Speaker 1: is awakened in the truth, that he loves them that
• 8:40
Speaker 1: hate him. Truth ends the dream of evil. It dispels
• 8:45
Speaker 1: the illusions of hatred. It liberates the sleeper from darkness
• 8:50
Speaker 1: and dreams. Awake, ye that sleep in error, Rouse yourselves,
• 8:56
Speaker 1: ye that dream in sin. The splendor of a higher
• 8:59
Speaker 1: life round about you, even the life of good. Open
• 9:04
Speaker 1: your eyes and see, Be alert and listen, that ye
• 9:09
Speaker 1: may hear the call of truth, even as the voice
• 9:12
Speaker 1: of the great awakener, Truth as consola one. The knowledge
• 9:22
Speaker 1: of truth is an abiding consolation when all else fails.
• 9:27
Speaker 1: The truth does not fail. When a heart is desolate
• 9:30
Speaker 1: and the world affords no shelter, truth provides a peaceful
• 9:34
Speaker 1: refuge and a quiet rest. The cares of life are many,
• 9:38
Speaker 1: and its path is beset with difficulties. For truth is
• 9:42
Speaker 1: greater than care and is superior to all difficulties. Truth
• 9:47
Speaker 1: lightens our burdens. It lights up our pathway with the
• 9:51
Speaker 1: radiance of joy. Loved Ones pass away, friends fail, and
• 9:56
Speaker 1: possessions disappear. Where then, is the voice of comfort? Where
• 10:01
Speaker 1: is a whisper of consolation? Truth is the comforter of
• 10:05
Speaker 1: the comfortless, and the consoler of them that are deserted.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: Truth does not pass away, nor fail, nor disappear. Truth
• 10:15
Speaker 1: bestows the consolation of abiding peace. Troubles come to all,
• 10:20
Speaker 1: even the wise cannot escape them. But the wise have
• 10:23
Speaker 1: a sure and safe refuge in the eternal good. They
• 10:27
Speaker 1: have a comforter, even Truth, who removes the sting from
• 10:31
Speaker 1: affliction and disperses the clouds of trouble. Night descends upon
• 10:36
Speaker 1: the pure, as upon the impure, but it holds no
• 10:40
Speaker 1: terrors for the pure, For the light of truth shines
• 10:43
Speaker 1: in the darkness with assuring radiance. Sweet is the sleep
• 10:47
Speaker 1: of the innocent, And they that rest upon the bosom
• 10:50
Speaker 1: of truth repose in peace. Day lights up the way
• 10:55
Speaker 1: both of the wise and the foolish. But the foolish
• 10:58
Speaker 1: are enveloped with the darkness of error. They stumble and
• 11:02
Speaker 1: are bruised, and have no comforter. But the wise walk
• 11:06
Speaker 1: in the light of truth. And should they stumble, they
• 11:09
Speaker 1: are lifted up lo they are healed and comforted. They
• 11:13
Speaker 1: that have the knowledge of truth shall have the satisfaction
• 11:16
Speaker 1: of peace. They are not immune from the vicissitudes of life.
• 11:20
Speaker 1: They are not released from the cares and responsibilities of
• 11:23
Speaker 1: worldly duties. They are not unassailed by external foes, but
• 11:28
Speaker 1: they are RESTful at heart. Their minds abide in the
• 11:31
Speaker 1: great calm. Two. The worldly minded have no comforter. But
• 11:39
Speaker 1: if they forsake the world and fly to truth, they
• 11:42
Speaker 1: will receive the sweet gift of consolation. The world is
• 11:46
Speaker 1: the place of pleasure and pain. The truth is abode
• 11:51
Speaker 1: of joy and peace. They that relinquish the excitements and
• 11:55
Speaker 1: dissatisfactions of the world for the sake of truth will
• 11:58
Speaker 1: find an unfailing companion and friend. Even the eternal distress
• 12:04
Speaker 1: is in the world. Yea grief and sorrow abound. But
• 12:09
Speaker 1: the Truth is calm. It allays grief and soothes away
• 12:13
Speaker 1: all sorrow. He Ye, the lamentations of the world. Wilder
• 12:18
Speaker 1: are they than the tempest deeper than the oceans roar.
• 12:22
Speaker 1: Truth alone can still the tempests of passion and the
• 12:26
Speaker 1: storms of grief. Come ye up into the calm resort,
• 12:31
Speaker 1: Ye to the great silence. Men are swept along by
• 12:34
Speaker 1: the force of turbulent passions, But when sorrow arrests them,
• 12:39
Speaker 1: they cry out in anguish love of worldly pleasure has
• 12:43
Speaker 1: brought them low, and the world can offer them no comfort.
• 12:47
Speaker 1: The world distresses, but the truth consoles. They whom the
• 12:52
Speaker 1: world has destroyed and deserted, who are cast down by
• 12:56
Speaker 1: pain and sorrow, even they are a friend by the
• 13:00
Speaker 1: truth when they turn to truth. None are despised by truth,
• 13:05
Speaker 1: None are turned away, None are left comfortless. Ye that
• 13:10
Speaker 1: are weary with pleasure seeking, ye that are pain stricken,
• 13:15
Speaker 1: Ye that are lonely and desolate, Come ye to the truth.
• 13:19
Speaker 1: The truth is above pleasure and pain. Be Ye lifted up,
• 13:23
Speaker 1: be ye rested, be ye healed, be ye befriended and comforted.
• 13:32
Speaker 1: Three He who clings to his delusions, loving self and sin,
• 13:38
Speaker 1: he cannot find the truth, cannot receive the consolation of truth.
• 13:43
Speaker 1: All that demeans and defiles must be abandoned. Truth is
• 13:47
Speaker 1: not found if the love of self is not renounced.
• 13:51
Speaker 1: They who lie or deceive, who hate or envy, who
• 13:55
Speaker 1: lust or covet, who think only of their own pleasure,
• 13:59
Speaker 1: whose aims are for self and the glory of self
• 14:02
Speaker 1: in all that they do. From such truth is hidden
• 14:06
Speaker 1: by a veil of darkness, even the thick veil of error.
• 14:10
Speaker 1: From such, the consolation of truth is withheld, because they
• 14:13
Speaker 1: seek for self only and not for truth. They who
• 14:18
Speaker 1: are truthful and sincere, who love men and rejoice in
• 14:22
Speaker 1: their success, who are pure and generous, who seek the
• 14:26
Speaker 1: good of others in all that they do to them,
• 14:29
Speaker 1: truth is revealed. Such stand face to face with good,
• 14:33
Speaker 1: and receive the consolation of truth. The foolish seek satisfaction
• 14:37
Speaker 1: in sensual pleasures. The vein are pleased with the flatteries
• 14:41
Speaker 1: of the world. The one leads to misery and emptiness,
• 14:45
Speaker 1: the other to disappointment and humiliation. The wise abide in
• 14:50
Speaker 1: the joy of truth, and there are no pitfalls for
• 14:53
Speaker 1: the humble. Their feet are steadfast in the way of peace.
• 14:58
Speaker 1: We have canceled our compact. The world its pleasures are
• 15:02
Speaker 1: put away, abandoned, renounced. We perform the necessary uses of
• 15:07
Speaker 1: the world, but we no longer rest upon its forms,
• 15:10
Speaker 1: no more seek satisfaction in its thirsty desires. Our hearts
• 15:15
Speaker 1: are set upon the good of all. Thus have we
• 15:18
Speaker 1: found the abiding sweetness of religion. We have found a
• 15:22
Speaker 1: quiet trust and a patient happiness. We have resorted to
• 15:26
Speaker 1: the faithful One, the ever present comforter, even the spirit
• 15:30
Speaker 1: of holiness. We have taken shelter in his high abode,
• 15:35
Speaker 1: And no temptation shall draw us back into the tempestuous
• 15:38
Speaker 1: ways of the world. For our refuge is a refuge. Indeed, four,
• 15:47
Speaker 1: the way of self is the way of sorrow. But
• 15:50
Speaker 1: truth refreshes the weary and lifts up the oppressed. There
• 15:54
Speaker 1: is gladness for the grief stricken, and healing for them
• 15:57
Speaker 1: that are afflicted with the sorrows of the world. There
• 16:00
Speaker 1: is a place of freedom, where the change of sin
• 16:02
Speaker 1: are broken, where weeping is not a lamentation is no
• 16:07
Speaker 1: more heard. There is a friend for the friendless, and
• 16:11
Speaker 1: consolation for them that have no comforter. Come see and receive.
• 16:18
Speaker 1: Truth meets all needs and is ready to receive all
• 16:21
Speaker 1: who come. The righteous rest there they have received the
• 16:26
Speaker 1: fullness of joy. Let also the unrighteous come. Yea, let
• 16:31
Speaker 1: them that are weary of sin come, and they that
• 16:34
Speaker 1: are burdened and oppressed with the sorrows of self, let
• 16:38
Speaker 1: them enter and be glad. There is a home for
• 16:41
Speaker 1: the homeless, and a country for the exiled. For the wanderer,
• 16:45
Speaker 1: there is a happy way, and the lost have a
• 16:47
Speaker 1: city of refuge. Whosoever will turn, let him turn and come.
• 16:53
Speaker 1: Truth brings joy out of sorrow and peace out of perturbation.
• 16:58
Speaker 1: He points the selfish to the way of good, and
• 17:01
Speaker 1: sinners to the path of holiness. Its spirit is the
• 17:04
Speaker 1: doing of righteousness to the earnest and faithful. It brings
• 17:08
Speaker 1: consolation upon the obedient and skillful. It bestows the crown
• 17:13
Speaker 1: of peace. I take refuge in truth, yea, in the
• 17:18
Speaker 1: spirit of good, in the knowledge of good, and in
• 17:21
Speaker 1: the doing of good. I abide, and I am reassured
• 17:25
Speaker 1: and comforted. It is to me as though malice were
• 17:28
Speaker 1: not and hatred had vanished away. Lust is confined to
• 17:33
Speaker 1: the nethermost darkness. It hath no way in Truth's transcendent light.
• 17:39
Speaker 1: Pride is broken up and dissolved, and vanity is melted
• 17:43
Speaker 1: away as a mist. I have set my face towards
• 17:47
Speaker 1: the perfect good, and my feet in the blameless way,
• 17:51
Speaker 1: and Because of this I am consoled. I am strengthened
• 17:55
Speaker 1: and comforted, having found refuge in truth, Truth as redeemer one,
• 18:06
Speaker 1: Truth is our redeemer. Truth purifies our hearts and bestows
• 18:10
Speaker 1: upon us the glorious gift of divine love. There is
• 18:14
Speaker 1: no salvation in selfishness. Self is the vessel of sin
• 18:18
Speaker 1: and the receptacle of sorrow. But when we fly to truth,
• 18:22
Speaker 1: self is ended and love abides forever. We have tried
• 18:27
Speaker 1: the ways of self, and we know how hard they are.
• 18:31
Speaker 1: We also look upon the weary multitudes, and compassion is
• 18:34
Speaker 1: stirred within us. But now we have found the truth.
• 18:38
Speaker 1: The pilgrimage of self is ended. Our feet are rested,
• 18:42
Speaker 1: and there is no more weariness of heart. The nature
• 18:45
Speaker 1: of self is error. It cannot therefore comprehend truth. The
• 18:50
Speaker 1: experience of self is suffering. It cannot therefore apprehend bliss.
• 18:57
Speaker 1: When the vessel of self is broken and his contents
• 18:59
Speaker 1: of an error and suffering are scattered, then is truth
• 19:03
Speaker 1: revealed and realized. Truth alone can comprehend truth, and bliss
• 19:08
Speaker 1: apprehendeth bliss. How can self no love, seeing that its
• 19:14
Speaker 1: nature is its own gratification? How can it know peace?
• 19:18
Speaker 1: Seeing that it cannot bestow love, How can it enter
• 19:21
Speaker 1: into salvation seeing that it dreads the loss of its
• 19:24
Speaker 1: perishable lusts and empty pleasures. Self is the way of
• 19:29
Speaker 1: darkness and the path of pain. The Redeemed to put
• 19:32
Speaker 1: away self and have accepted truth. Self regards error as
• 19:37
Speaker 1: truth when it is pleasing. It regards truth as error
• 19:41
Speaker 1: when it is displeasing, seeking pleasure and dreading pain. It
• 19:46
Speaker 1: does not know good and evil. Truth knows truth as
• 19:50
Speaker 1: truth and error as error. It avoids evil and chooses
• 19:55
Speaker 1: good without considerations of pleasure and pain. Divine love is
• 20:00
Speaker 1: the perfect flower of truth. For when truth fills the heart,
• 20:05
Speaker 1: love blossoms out in the life. By this flower is
• 20:08
Speaker 1: truth known. For wheresoever impartial love is, there is truth,
• 20:15
Speaker 1: just deeds, pure actions, works, untainted with self, minds, controlled
• 20:20
Speaker 1: and calm. These are the angelic messages of truth. The
• 20:25
Speaker 1: possesses of these are the Redeemed. Their habitation is peace. Two.
• 20:33
Speaker 1: Truth is the savior of the world. There is no
• 20:36
Speaker 1: other savior. There can be no compromise with truth. It says,
• 20:41
Speaker 1: give up self. Truth is our redeemer. Only when we
• 20:45
Speaker 1: yield up all to it self cannot be saved. It
• 20:49
Speaker 1: must be abandoned. It must be left to the darkness
• 20:52
Speaker 1: in which it originated and to which it belongs. The
• 20:56
Speaker 1: light of salvation is only for them that press forward
• 20:59
Speaker 1: and leave all selfishness behind. And they who turn not
• 21:03
Speaker 1: back into the presence of the Redeemer, they are clothed
• 21:07
Speaker 1: with his glory. Who can see the glory of the redeemed?
• 21:12
Speaker 1: The redeemed behold it, and them that are about to
• 21:15
Speaker 1: be redeemed see it dimly. But the eyes of the
• 21:19
Speaker 1: world are holden with the thought of self. The Redeemed
• 21:22
Speaker 1: are silent in the midst of men. They accused, not condemned,
• 21:26
Speaker 1: not revile not when smitten, they are not angry, And
• 21:31
Speaker 1: when mocked they make no sign. Yet him that smote
• 21:34
Speaker 1: them they succor in his sorrow. And when they that
• 21:38
Speaker 1: mock them are brought low, they lift them up and
• 21:41
Speaker 1: bless them. The utterance of truth is deeds. The Redeemed
• 21:45
Speaker 1: are freed from all selfishness. They are made perfect in truth,
• 21:50
Speaker 1: the thought of self being eliminated, there is nothing remaining
• 21:54
Speaker 1: in them they can give rise to selfishness. They are
• 21:57
Speaker 1: calm and just, doing that which is right, and passion
• 22:02
Speaker 1: is purged from their actions. He who comes to the
• 22:05
Speaker 1: feet of truth, earnest in thought, strong in will, and
• 22:09
Speaker 1: contrite in heart, will be lifted up and saved. He
• 22:14
Speaker 1: will overcome all that defiles and all that causes sorrow.
• 22:18
Speaker 1: The light of truth will light up his mind, dispelling
• 22:22
Speaker 1: all darkness, and he will stand among them to whom
• 22:25
Speaker 1: the cosmic glory is unveiled. Four to the Redeemed, the
• 22:30
Speaker 1: narrow confines of self are burst and broken asunder, and
• 22:34
Speaker 1: the mind is conscious of the eternal. The universe is
• 22:37
Speaker 1: known as it is yea. Its perfection and the splendor
• 22:42
Speaker 1: of its law are revealed. So large, so boundless, so
• 22:47
Speaker 1: all embracing is the life of the Redeemed In truth. Three,
• 22:55
Speaker 1: Immortal Truth redeems us from mortal error. Clinging no more
• 22:59
Speaker 1: to the pirererishable, we fly to the imperishable and find
• 23:03
Speaker 1: the rock of safety. The body grows old, it withers
• 23:07
Speaker 1: and decays, Passions burn out, leaving only the ashes of regret.
• 23:13
Speaker 1: Pleasures cease to satisfy, and pains fill up their places.
• 23:17
Speaker 1: For Truth is imperishable. It never grows old, nor does
• 23:22
Speaker 1: it wither and decay. It does not consume, and it
• 23:26
Speaker 1: leaves behind no sorrow and no pain, to set the
• 23:30
Speaker 1: mind upon that which is perishable, to be consumed by
• 23:33
Speaker 1: violent passions, to live in unhappiness and misery, This it
• 23:38
Speaker 1: is to be unredeemed. The redeemed, having the knowledge of
• 23:42
Speaker 1: the imperishable, and being possession of righteousness, live in happiness
• 23:47
Speaker 1: and joy. For truth is always bright and beautiful. YEA,
• 23:51
Speaker 1: truth is always peace, bestowing it calms the storms of
• 23:56
Speaker 1: strife to the passion driven. It brings quiet upon the
• 24:00
Speaker 1: dark waters of anguish. It pours the oil of stillness
• 24:04
Speaker 1: the mind that is troubled, It restores and envelops it
• 24:08
Speaker 1: with silence. The Redeemed are satisfied. They are in security
• 24:13
Speaker 1: and peace. They are not overtaken by the storms of passion,
• 24:17
Speaker 1: nor attack'd and laid low by fierce desires. They abide
• 24:22
Speaker 1: in the place of safety. What enemy shall overcome the Redeemed?
• 24:26
Speaker 1: Have they not slain the supreme enemy even self? Have
• 24:31
Speaker 1: they not taken his stronghold even their own hearts? Yea,
• 24:35
Speaker 1: they have purified their hearts, and the impure cannot overcome
• 24:39
Speaker 1: the pure. Out of the black night, out of the
• 24:44
Speaker 1: fierce war, out of the confusion and the conflict, have
• 24:48
Speaker 1: the Redeemed come and now they dwell in the light.
• 24:52
Speaker 1: They abide with peace, and darkness and strife are no more. Four.
• 25:00
Speaker 1: The unredeemed are in the confines of self. They are
• 25:04
Speaker 1: surrounded with darkness. They seek for self only. The redeemed
• 25:08
Speaker 1: are in the glory of the universal, the impersonal. They
• 25:12
Speaker 1: are surrounded with light. They seek the good of all.
• 25:16
Speaker 1: Truth is the breaker of bonds. It liberates the slave.
• 25:20
Speaker 1: It sets the captive free. Who chooses bondage rather than liberty,
• 25:25
Speaker 1: who prefers darkness to light, He who has not known
• 25:29
Speaker 1: liberty loves his chains, And he who has not seen
• 25:33
Speaker 1: the light prefers to remain in darkness. And when liberty
• 25:37
Speaker 1: is made known, it is desired. When light is perceived,
• 25:41
Speaker 1: there is no longer a dwelling place in darkness. The
• 25:45
Speaker 1: desires of the flesh are a tormenting fever. The hatreds, conflicts,
• 25:50
Speaker 1: and covetings of the mind are a consuming fire. But
• 25:54
Speaker 1: there is a healing for the fever, and a water
• 25:56
Speaker 1: for the quenching of the fire. Truth is the healer
• 26:00
Speaker 1: of the mind. It is a sweet medicine to the afflicted,
• 26:04
Speaker 1: and a draft of cool water to them that are
• 26:07
Speaker 1: troubled with thirst. There is no unrest in truth. The
• 26:11
Speaker 1: unredeemed are in the way of sorrow. Pain and weariness
• 26:15
Speaker 1: are their companions. Reaching after pleasures, they grasp sorrows, striving
• 26:21
Speaker 1: eagerly for self. Happiness departs from them. But the redeemed
• 26:26
Speaker 1: are in the way of gladness. Strength and joy are
• 26:28
Speaker 1: their companions, and not departing from good, they dwell in
• 26:33
Speaker 1: the house of happiness. From what, then, are we redeemed? From?
• 26:38
Speaker 1: What are we saved? And where is our salvation? We
• 26:42
Speaker 1: are redeemed from self and passion, from sin and sorrow,
• 26:47
Speaker 1: from unholiness and unrest. Even from these are we taken away.
• 26:52
Speaker 1: We are saved from lust and hatred, from pride and vanity,
• 26:56
Speaker 1: from covetousness and envy. Even from thee are we drawn away.
• 27:02
Speaker 1: We are saved by the truth, by the practice of truth,
• 27:06
Speaker 1: by the knowledge of truth, and by the power of truth.
• 27:10
Speaker 1: Our salvation is from the truth. In truth we rest.
• 27:15
Speaker 1: Truth is the redeemer of the world. Truth as reconciler one.
• 27:25
Speaker 1: Truth is a reconciler of extremes. It neutralizes all opposites,
• 27:31
Speaker 1: It harmonizes all discords and contradictions. It brings back to
• 27:36
Speaker 1: us harmony and peace. When we were in error, we
• 27:39
Speaker 1: saw all things as erroneous yea. When we were blind
• 27:43
Speaker 1: to our own error, we saw error in all else.
• 27:47
Speaker 1: We saw good as evil, and evil as good, Light
• 27:51
Speaker 1: as darkness, and darkness as light. But now we were
• 27:55
Speaker 1: plucked out the eye of error from ourselves, we see
• 27:58
Speaker 1: the supreme good. Truth reconciles man to man. It reconciles
• 28:03
Speaker 1: man to the universe. It bestows upon him the knowledge
• 28:07
Speaker 1: of the good law. It reveals the hidden justice in
• 28:11
Speaker 1: all events. In error is unrest, and anger and perturbation,
• 28:16
Speaker 1: trouble and turmoil is ever with him who sees injustice
• 28:20
Speaker 1: confusion and contradiction. But he who sees justice, order and
• 28:25
Speaker 1: harmony is calm and filled with peace. Error sees error,
• 28:30
Speaker 1: and truth sees truth. Error being darkness, cannot penetrate the light,
• 28:36
Speaker 1: but truth, being light, can penetrate the darkness. Truth reconciles
• 28:41
Speaker 1: darkness with light. Error is the great unrest, Truth is
• 28:46
Speaker 1: the great peace. He who looks with the eye of
• 28:50
Speaker 1: error is restless as the shifting winds, but RESTful as
• 28:54
Speaker 1: the stable mountain. Is he who looks with the eye
• 28:57
Speaker 1: of truth. We are reconciled to the world we are
• 29:01
Speaker 1: reconciled to humanity, and being thus reconciled, we are at rest.
• 29:07
Speaker 1: Where unrest is, there is no reconciliation. And they who
• 29:11
Speaker 1: are not so reconciled have not received the truth. Two.
• 29:18
Speaker 1: All things are proportionate, All circumstances are just. All events
• 29:24
Speaker 1: are of causation. He who has received the light of
• 29:27
Speaker 1: truth sees all things in their right relations. All things
• 29:32
Speaker 1: are ruled by causation. All things are of the nature
• 29:35
Speaker 1: of causation. There is nothing which is not contained in
• 29:39
Speaker 1: cause and effect. Cause and effect are one. The divine
• 29:44
Speaker 1: law is one. Out of chaos into cosmos. Have we
• 29:48
Speaker 1: come out of confusion into harmony, out of bewilderment, into
• 29:53
Speaker 1: peace perpetual. There is good in all things. Out of
• 29:57
Speaker 1: evil comes suffering. Out of suffering comes sorrow, And from
• 30:02
Speaker 1: sorrow is lowly wisdom born. Though the night be long,
• 30:06
Speaker 1: the morning comes, and with it comes sunshine and singing.
• 30:11
Speaker 1: Though the world be in its long night, the great
• 30:14
Speaker 1: day will dawn. Lo we behold the splendor of its light.
• 30:19
Speaker 1: There are no more any enemies. All are our own,
• 30:22
Speaker 1: our beloved, Both them that bless and them that curse,
• 30:27
Speaker 1: All are friendly to us. The inward enemy. Being overcome,
• 30:31
Speaker 1: all outward foes have vanished away. There is no more enmity.
• 30:36
Speaker 1: Men and things are in their right places. There is
• 30:39
Speaker 1: no more strife, no more fighting, no more warfare. We
• 30:45
Speaker 1: behold the fray, but do not engage in it. We
• 30:48
Speaker 1: hear the tumult, and we make no sound. But though quiescent,
• 30:52
Speaker 1: we watch, though silent, we are not indifferent. Perceiving the
• 30:57
Speaker 1: divine order, we are reconciled to all things, And being
• 31:02
Speaker 1: so reconciled, we are in perfect peace. Three. Wherefore should
• 31:10
Speaker 1: we mourn and be sorrowful? The very ground of lamentation
• 31:14
Speaker 1: is dissolved. The foundation of sorrow is cut away. And
• 31:18
Speaker 1: as for sin and evil, they were but are not.
• 31:23
Speaker 1: The sphere of controversy is broken about what should we contend?
• 31:28
Speaker 1: The world of division is annulled. What have we to defend?
• 31:33
Speaker 1: Can truth fail? That? We should argue? That we should
• 31:36
Speaker 1: be anxious and concerned? Because truth endure us forever, our
• 31:41
Speaker 1: peace can never fail. The seed falls in its appointed place,
• 31:46
Speaker 1: The flower appears, and also the fruit in its season.
• 31:51
Speaker 1: Day warms and night curls, lightish shed and rainfalls, Snow
• 31:57
Speaker 1: covers and frost binds. These things opposed are they enemies?
• 32:03
Speaker 1: They work together as one? Who then shall stir us
• 32:07
Speaker 1: up to wrath? Who shall draw us into the lists
• 32:10
Speaker 1: of contention? With them that agree with us, we are
• 32:14
Speaker 1: at peace. And with them that oppose us, we are
• 32:17
Speaker 1: also at peace. Friends are not near, nor enemies far.
• 32:23
Speaker 1: Praise and blame are not asunder. Truth draws all things together.
• 32:28
Speaker 1: It resolves all opposites into one. Yea, forces that seem
• 32:32
Speaker 1: divided are now united. Things that seem to contend are
• 32:37
Speaker 1: now in agreement, and events that seem to adverse are
• 32:40
Speaker 1: now friendly. How foolish we were in our fear, how
• 32:45
Speaker 1: blind in our bigotry, how hateful in our heart we were,
• 32:50
Speaker 1: as the beasts that rage and kill, or as the
• 32:53
Speaker 1: blind beetle that dashes on to its death. All things
• 32:57
Speaker 1: are in unison, and fear, and blindness and hatred are
• 33:01
Speaker 1: no more. Having departed from the lesser, the greater is revealed.
• 33:06
Speaker 1: Having renounced the part, the whole is received, Having abandoned
• 33:11
Speaker 1: the imperfect, what remains but the perfect four. Truly, all
• 33:20
Speaker 1: things are reconciled, and peace awaits. The door of truth
• 33:23
Speaker 1: is open. None hinders, But man holds back. He holds
• 33:28
Speaker 1: back for a time, and in the hour of ripeness
• 33:31
Speaker 1: he comes forward. Whosoever will come, let him come, Let
• 33:36
Speaker 1: him enter, and be glad. All things are now all light,
• 33:42
Speaker 1: all law, all truth is now. Time and eternity are one.
• 33:48
Speaker 1: Matter and spirit are one. Death and life are one.
• 33:53
Speaker 1: The blind see not, but they that have eyes know
• 33:57
Speaker 1: the things which they see. We strive not, we stand
• 34:01
Speaker 1: apart and are silent. Men hurry to and fro a
• 34:05
Speaker 1: little while, A little while they come, and a little
• 34:09
Speaker 1: time they go. How eager they are, how anxious, how fierce.
• 34:16
Speaker 1: Better than all worldly gain, is the spirit of peace,
• 34:19
Speaker 1: Better than rule and riches, is the reconciliation of truth.
• 34:24
Speaker 1: Fires burn out and storms subside, but serenity remains. Calmness
• 34:30
Speaker 1: preserves and restores, and tranquility is a great possession. Who
• 34:34
Speaker 1: condemns our aloofness him, our peace enfolds even him. Our
• 34:40
Speaker 1: reconciliation embraces a part. We are not separate aloof We
• 34:45
Speaker 1: are not estranged, engaging with none and joining with none.
• 34:50
Speaker 1: Yet we belong to all. For the perfect reconciliation is
• 34:54
Speaker 1: not partial, but just. He who sees all sides sees
• 34:58
Speaker 1: the whole, and and seeing the whole, he is satisfied.
• 35:02
Speaker 1: Being satisfied, he is at peace withal Seers of the
• 35:07
Speaker 1: great Glory, hearers of the heavenly harmony, knowers of the
• 35:12
Speaker 1: perfect Law. Great is your gladness, Wondrous is your wisdom.
• 35:18
Speaker 1: Deep is your peace. More powerful is one day of
• 35:22
Speaker 1: your silence than a thousand years of noise. All parties,
• 35:27
Speaker 1: all sides, all religions are reconciled. Love supports all sustains,
• 35:33
Speaker 1: all nourishes all. The great Reconciler is come. He is here,
• 35:39
Speaker 1: and we have found him. We sought him, and he
• 35:42
Speaker 1: turned not away. And because of this we have received
• 35:46
Speaker 1: the world. And peace does not depart from us. Truth
• 35:54
Speaker 1: as protector one. Good deeds are truth. Our good deeds
• 36:01
Speaker 1: remain with us. They save and protect us. Evil deeds
• 36:05
Speaker 1: are error, Our evil deeds follow us, They overthrow us.
• 36:10
Speaker 1: In the hour of temptation, the evildoer is not protected
• 36:14
Speaker 1: from sorrow, but the good doer is shielded from all harm.
• 36:19
Speaker 1: The fool says, unto his evil deed, remain thou hidden,
• 36:23
Speaker 1: be thou unexposed. But his evil is already published, and
• 36:27
Speaker 1: his sorrow is sure. If we are in evil, what
• 36:31
Speaker 1: shall protect us? What keep us from misery? And confusion.
• 36:36
Speaker 1: Nor man, nor woman, nor wealth, nor power, nor heaven
• 36:40
Speaker 1: nor earth shall keep us from confusion from the results
• 36:44
Speaker 1: of evil. There is no escape, no refuge, and no protection.
• 36:49
Speaker 1: If we are in good, what shall overthrow us? What
• 36:53
Speaker 1: bring us to misery and confusion? Nor man, nor woman,
• 36:57
Speaker 1: nor poverty, nor sickness, nor heaven or earth shall bring
• 37:01
Speaker 1: us to confusion? The effects of good appear, though the
• 37:04
Speaker 1: cause be forgotten, and its refuge and protection is at hand.
• 37:09
Speaker 1: What can amulets and charms avail? What can the muttering
• 37:13
Speaker 1: of set prayers avail? What can the observance of formal
• 37:17
Speaker 1: rights avail? They cannot avail. They are empty, They are
• 37:22
Speaker 1: without efficacy, and are a void of protection. Righteousness avails,
• 37:28
Speaker 1: the doing of good deeds avails. A pure heart and
• 37:33
Speaker 1: a blameless life avail. They are filled with joy and peace.
• 37:38
Speaker 1: Truth is a happy retreat and an eternal protection. In truth,
• 37:43
Speaker 1: there is no more doubt and uncertainty. There is safety
• 37:46
Speaker 1: and security. There is a straight way and a quiet rest. Two.
• 37:54
Speaker 1: The righteous know the protection of truth. Their minds are free,
• 37:58
Speaker 1: and they are happy hearted. Empty excuses and vain quibbles
• 38:02
Speaker 1: they harbor not, They scheme not how to protect themselves.
• 38:07
Speaker 1: Their deeds are invincible defenders. Their lives bear witness, and
• 38:11
Speaker 1: they are not ashamed. The unrighteous are overtaken with shame
• 38:15
Speaker 1: and confusion. They try to hide, but cannot. They have
• 38:20
Speaker 1: no place of concealment. Their deeds accuse them, and they
• 38:24
Speaker 1: have no protection. How happy are the righteous, They are
• 38:28
Speaker 1: relieved from all anxiety. Walking with truth, they walk in
• 38:33
Speaker 1: perfect freedom. How fearless are the righteous. They have no
• 38:37
Speaker 1: dark forebodings. They dread no evil. When evil threatens, they
• 38:42
Speaker 1: are calm and unafraid. Truth shields them from the afflictions
• 38:46
Speaker 1: of the mind. It fortifies against misery, It destroys self, delusion,
• 38:51
Speaker 1: and sorrow. The light of truth reveals error and the
• 38:55
Speaker 1: cause of error. It also reveals the effects of error.
• 39:00
Speaker 1: It frees the mind from all subjection to evil. He
• 39:03
Speaker 1: that is established in truth is established in safety. Truth
• 39:07
Speaker 1: cannot proceed from error, nor error from truth. Good cannot
• 39:12
Speaker 1: be the effect of evil, nor evil the effect of good.
• 39:16
Speaker 1: This is little understood, But the righteous understand, and understanding
• 39:21
Speaker 1: they are glad. They rejoice in the law of truth.
• 39:25
Speaker 1: The understanding mind is not misled by appearances. It rejoices
• 39:30
Speaker 1: in good against all appearances. When events press, it does
• 39:34
Speaker 1: not think the good has failed. When outward things fail,
• 39:38
Speaker 1: it does not say righteousness has not supported me. When
• 39:42
Speaker 1: persecution comes, it cannot say lo truth affords me no protection.
• 39:49
Speaker 1: Truth is in the thought and not in the thing.
• 39:52
Speaker 1: It resides in the hearts and not in the outward habit.
• 39:57
Speaker 1: It destroys the inward enemies, and the verses have no
• 40:01
Speaker 1: more power. Their sting is gone, that evil is dispersed.
• 40:05
Speaker 1: The peace of the perfect ones can never be destroyed. Three,
• 40:12
Speaker 1: the pure in heart are protected from within. The perfect indeed,
• 40:17
Speaker 1: are guarded by good. They are upheld by the good law,
• 40:21
Speaker 1: by the knowledge of truth. They are lifted up. They
• 40:24
Speaker 1: stand and do not fall. Truth cannot be overtaken by error.
• 40:29
Speaker 1: It cannot be overturned by man. Error passes away, but
• 40:33
Speaker 1: the truth remains. Men fall, but the truth remains. Truth
• 40:39
Speaker 1: cannot change. It is eternal and indestructible. Hearing is the
• 40:44
Speaker 1: salvation of the wise. Hearin is the protection of the pure.
• 40:49
Speaker 1: Hearin is the joy of the perfect, that, being one
• 40:52
Speaker 1: with truth, they have come to peace eternal. He who
• 40:56
Speaker 1: is one with truth reflects truth, is deadfast, fearless, serene.
• 41:03
Speaker 1: He changes not, but is always true when tried, he
• 41:07
Speaker 1: does not falter when assailed, he does not fall. Permanent
• 41:12
Speaker 1: in purity and peace, he is established in gentleness and strength.
• 41:16
Speaker 1: Who mourns for sin, who gropes for deliverance, who searches
• 41:21
Speaker 1: for the permanent, Let him make himself pure, Let him
• 41:25
Speaker 1: come to truth, Let him find peace in the practice
• 41:28
Speaker 1: of good. Things are impermanent. They have no abiding protection.
• 41:34
Speaker 1: Truth is permanent. Its protection abides through all changes. Ill
• 41:39
Speaker 1: deeds are exposed in torment and confusion. Good deeds are
• 41:44
Speaker 1: established in bliss and wisdom. Truth is a friend that
• 41:48
Speaker 1: does not disappoint, a protector that never fails. The world fails,
• 41:54
Speaker 1: it fades and passes like a dream. Truth stands, it
• 41:58
Speaker 1: becomes more distinct. They who have found truth are satisfied,
• 42:04
Speaker 1: protected by truth. They have found a protector. Indeed, the
• 42:08
Speaker 1: patient are protected from impatience. The pure are protected from impurity,
• 42:14
Speaker 1: The humble are protected from pride, the loving are protected
• 42:18
Speaker 1: from hatred. Greed flees from the presence of the open
• 42:21
Speaker 1: handed into the habitations of the peaceful. Strife cannot come,
• 42:27
Speaker 1: and folly walks not where tread the footsteps of the wise.
• 42:31
Speaker 1: Truth is its own security. It protects without premeditation. It
• 42:36
Speaker 1: dispenses with disguises and shields by its own inherent reality.
• 42:41
Speaker 1: Its light disposes of all darkness. It exposes the false
• 42:46
Speaker 1: and reveals the true. Error falls before truth, Its shield
• 42:51
Speaker 1: is shattered, its sword broken. YEA, it is laid low
• 42:55
Speaker 1: and cannot rise. It is helpless and has not champion
• 43:00
Speaker 1: nor defender. Truth does not fall before error. The powerless
• 43:05
Speaker 1: cannot overcome the powerful. The lesser cannot subdue the greater.
• 43:10
Speaker 1: The slave does not command the master. All things are
• 43:13
Speaker 1: subject to truth. Truth is a shield to the righteous,
• 43:18
Speaker 1: a shelter to the pure, a light upon the pathway
• 43:21
Speaker 1: of the just. Truth is supreme. Truth is invincible. Truth
• 43:27
Speaker 1: is triumphant for ever and ever. End of Part one
• 43:33
Speaker 1: of The Divine Companion by James Allen. The Divine Dialogue
• 43:38
Speaker 1: between a Master and the disciples.
• 43:41
Speaker 2: Master read by bab Gonzales.
• 43:45
Speaker 1: Disciple read by Algae pag I.
• 43:49
Speaker 2: The Master dwell in the hearts of all men, but
• 43:53
Speaker 2: all men do not consciously dwell with me. He that
• 43:57
Speaker 2: abides with me in all his thoughts deeds has reached
• 44:02
  Speaker 2: the divine consummation.
• 44:05
Speaker 1: Salutation, rejoice, or ye who seek truth, be glad and
• 44:10
Speaker 1: not sorrowful, or ye who love truth, for your sorrow
• 44:14
Speaker 1: shall pass away as the mists of the morning. Your
• 44:18
Speaker 1: doubts shall be as the darkness that is not, And
• 44:21
Speaker 1: as a dream of the night shall your afflictions be.
• 44:25
Speaker 1: The disciple cried, and lo, the Master heard. The disciple
• 44:30
Speaker 1: was ready, and lo, the Master was at hand. The
• 44:34
Speaker 1: disciple sought, and behold the Master was revealed. One of
• 44:42
Speaker 1: seeking and finding. Where is knowledge? Where is truth? Where
• 44:48
Speaker 1: is peace? I am sorrowful and find no comfort in men.
• 44:52
Speaker 1: I have gone astray and find no surety in the
• 44:55
Speaker 1: teachings of men. Yea, even in myself I find no
• 45:00
Speaker 1: truth and no remedy for my doubt and sorrow. I
• 45:04
Speaker 1: have striven in the pride of my heart. I have
• 45:06
Speaker 1: contended with men for my opinions. I have mistaken evil
• 45:10
Speaker 1: for good and have called ignorance knowledge. And now I
• 45:15
Speaker 1: am alone, and there is none to hear me. And
• 45:18
Speaker 1: if I cry, there is none to hear my voice.
• 45:22
Speaker 2: Nay, I am with THEE, and I hear thy voice.
• 45:27
Speaker 1: Who art thou that dost assure me?
• 45:30
Speaker 2: I am the spirit of truth.
• 45:33
Speaker 1: O Master, O Spirit of Truth. Why didst thou not
• 45:37
Speaker 1: come to me? Before, Why didst thou leave me so
• 45:40
  Speaker 1: long desolate?
• 45:42
Speaker 2: Thou wert not desolate till now Pride was thy companion,
• 45:48
Speaker 2: and pride satisfied thee. Where pride is there, I cannot come,
• 45:55
Speaker 2: And he who listens to its flatteries cannot hear my voice.
• 46:00
Speaker 2: Self glory blinded thee, so that my form thou couldst
• 46:04
Speaker 2: not see. Self exultation deafened thee. And when I called
• 46:10
Speaker 2: thou didst not hear. Self seeking led thee astray, and
• 46:16
Speaker 2: my way was hidden from thee. But now, having put
• 46:20
Speaker 2: away pride, thou hast both seen and heard. Ask, and
• 46:26
Speaker 2: I will answer. Seek, and thou shalt find.
• 46:32
Speaker 1: Comfort me, I Master, for I am weary. Strengthen me,
• 46:36
Speaker 1: for I am weak. Teach me, for I am lacking
• 46:40
  Speaker 1: in knowledge.
• 46:41
Speaker 2: He who deserts self and takes refuge in me is
• 46:47
Speaker 2: never deserted. My word is his comfort, My law is
• 46:52
Speaker 2: his strength, and my commands his instruction and knowledge.
• 46:58
Speaker 1: Speak thy word, and I will listen. Reveal thy law,
• 47:01
Speaker 1: and I will walk therein command me and I thy servant,
• 47:06
Speaker 1: will obey. For thou art the master whom I so
• 47:09
Speaker 1: long sought, and having found thee, let me not depart
• 47:13
  Speaker 1: from THEE.
• 47:15
Speaker 2: He who follows self abandons me, But he who abandons
• 47:20
Speaker 2: self lo he is with me always.
• 47:25
Speaker 1: Hitherto I have clung to self. I have followed after
• 47:29
Speaker 1: vain and empty desires, and caught in the toils of
• 47:32
Speaker 1: self delusion. I have not known thy presence. But now,
• 47:36
Speaker 1: O Master, I have found THEE. And having found THEE,
• 47:40
Speaker 1: let me remain with THEE. Let me be thy child,
• 47:44
Speaker 1: obeying thy voice. Let me be thy pupil, receiving thy instruction.
• 47:49
Speaker 1: Let me become thy disciple, and follow wheresoever thou dost.
• 47:54
Speaker 2: Lead thy humility, O, disciple, hath made THEE mine. Thou
• 48:00
Speaker 2: hast entered the gateway leading to my kingdom, even to
• 48:05
Speaker 2: the kingdom of a righteous life. Henceforth, thou wilt follow
• 48:10
Speaker 2: truth and not self striving. Thou hast entered searching, Thou
• 48:16
Speaker 2: hast revealed, seeking, thou hast found. Ask whatsoever thou wilt,
• 48:23
Speaker 2: and I will not withhold instruction.
• 48:26
Speaker 1: Two of entering the way. Teacher of teachers instruct Thou.
• 48:33
Speaker 2: Me ask, and I will answer.
• 48:37
Speaker 1: I have read much, but am ignorant. Still. I have
• 48:40
Speaker 1: studied the doctrines of the schools, but have not become wise.
• 48:44
Speaker 1: Thereby I know the scriptures by heart, but peace is
• 48:48
Speaker 1: hidden from me. Point out to me, O Master, the
• 48:51
Speaker 1: way of knowledge. Reveal to me the high way of
• 48:54
Speaker 1: divine wisdom. Lead thou, thy child, into the path of peace.
• 49:00
Speaker 2: The way of knowledge, O disciple, is by searching the heart.
• 49:04
Speaker 2: The high way of wisdom is by the practice of righteousness,
• 49:09
Speaker 2: and by a sinless life is found the way of peace.
• 49:14
Speaker 1: Bear with me, O Master. In my uncertainty, I am
• 49:17
Speaker 1: bewildered by the multitude of opinions and by the number
• 49:21
Speaker 1: of schools. Am I confounded? Delusion blinds me, doubt encompasses me,
• 49:26
Speaker 1: and I cannot find the way wherein I should walk.
• 49:30
Speaker 1: Teach me how to search, how to practice, how to
• 49:33
Speaker 1: wear the garment of a blameless life.
• 49:37
Speaker 2: Delusion and doubt, O disciple, are within thyself. Within thyself
• 49:43
Speaker 2: also are reality and certainty. By thine own errors only
• 49:47
Speaker 2: art thou blinded? Remove those errors, and thou shalt behold
• 49:53
Speaker 2: truth engaged. Therefore, in holy meditation, search thy heart with
• 50:00
Speaker 2: the searching of truth, and cast out therefrom all that
• 50:04
  Speaker 2: is of self.
• 50:06
Speaker 1: What is of self?
• 50:09
Speaker 2: Desire and passion and egotism. From desire and passion and
• 50:14
Speaker 2: egotism springs self delusion, and self delusion is the obscuration
• 50:20
Speaker 2: of truth. Renounce desire, overcome passion, put away egotism. Then
• 50:28
Speaker 2: will delusion be dispelled, and all thy doubts will vanish.
• 50:33
Speaker 1: A master great is the task which thou hast set
• 50:37
Speaker 1: before me. Labories the work which thou commandest me to do,
• 50:43
Speaker 1: steep and strange, the way of renunciation which thou hast
• 50:46
Speaker 1: pointed out to me. Desire is deeply rooted in my nature,
• 50:51
Speaker 1: and passion binds me fast to earthly things. YEA, desire
• 50:56
Speaker 1: and passion are my very self. Must I renounce myself?
• 51:01
Speaker 1: Must I yield up that which seems so sweet? O?
• 51:05
Speaker 1: Men long to preserve the self. They pray for its
• 51:08
Speaker 1: eternal preservation and position. And must I let it perish?
• 51:13
Speaker 2: Thou must, for thou hast vowed to follow me.
• 51:18
Speaker 1: YEA, I have vowed, and I will follow.
• 51:21
Speaker 2: Thee seest thou how all men suffer? This is because
• 51:27
Speaker 2: they long to preserve the self. This is because they
• 51:31
Speaker 2: labor for its eternal preservation and possession. In desire and
• 51:36
Speaker 2: egotism and passion are turmoil and unrest. In me alone
• 51:42
Speaker 2: is peace weary and pain. Stricken is the world because
• 51:47
Speaker 2: it knows not me, But in me. There is no weariness,
• 51:52
Speaker 2: and pain and sorrow cannot come to my abode. My
• 51:56
Speaker 2: abode is a purified heart. The upright mind is my temple,
• 52:01
Speaker 2: and the blameless life is my holy habitation.
• 52:06
Speaker 1: I will take refuge in THEE, in thy abode, in
• 52:10
Speaker 1: thy temple, yea, even in thy holy habitation.
• 52:15
Speaker 2: The purified heart is not stained by desire, the upright
• 52:20
Speaker 2: mind is not impelled by passion, And in the blameless
• 52:25
Speaker 2: life there is no thought of self. Search thy heart
• 52:29
Speaker 2: and follow truth. Put away the self of desire and
• 52:34
Speaker 2: passion and egotism, deny, overcome and abandon it. Let no
• 52:41
Speaker 2: vestige of it remain with THEE. For it is the
• 52:44
Speaker 2: author of all confusion, the source of all affliction, the
• 52:49
Speaker 2: spring of pain and sorrow and unrest. Rest Thou in me.
• 52:55
Speaker 1: Thou hast pointed out to me the way of truth,
• 52:58
Speaker 1: even the holy way of show fishness. That way will
• 53:02
Speaker 1: I walk. My resolution, a master of truth is fixed
• 53:06
Speaker 1: in THEE. I will put away desire and will cling
• 53:09
Speaker 1: to THEE. I will be deaf to the voices of passion,
• 53:13
Speaker 1: and will listen only to Thy voice. I will not
• 53:16
Speaker 1: seek my own, but will obey the Holy law. Lo,
• 53:20
Speaker 1: I put my feet upon thy way. Lead thou, thy servant,
• 53:24
Speaker 1: unto light and peace.
• 53:27
Speaker 2: Thou hast entered, our disciple, the path of righteousness. Thy
• 53:32
Speaker 2: feet are set upon the way of wisdom. Thou shalt
• 53:35
Speaker 2: comprehend my law. The light of knowledge shall illumine thee,
• 53:40
Speaker 2: and I will guide thy footfalls unto peace.
• 53:45
Speaker 1: Three of discipline and purification. I am in sorrow, o Master.
• 53:53
Speaker 1: My feet are weary, and darkness is closing around me.
• 53:57
Speaker 1: Desert me not, but come now to my assistance. My
• 54:01
Speaker 1: desires are strong, and they cry out for their habitual pleasures.
• 54:05
Speaker 1: My passions are violence and overwhelm me with their strength,
• 54:09
Speaker 1: and the voices of my false opinions weary me with
• 54:12
Speaker 1: their demands. The way is dark and difficult to follow.
• 54:16
Speaker 1: Shed upon me, oer Master, the light of thy knowledge.
• 54:20
Speaker 1: Comfort me with the balm of thy instruction.
• 54:24
Speaker 2: Thy sorrow, o disciple, is of the Self. In me.
• 54:29
Speaker 2: There is no sorrow. The darkness which surrounds THEE is
• 54:33
Speaker 2: the shadow cast by the Self. There is no darkness
• 54:37
Speaker 2: in me. Truth is serene and sorrowless. There is no
• 54:42
Speaker 2: weeping and weariness and lamentation in truth. Even now, though
• 54:47
Speaker 2: thou ceast it not, my light is shining on thy pathway.
• 54:52
Speaker 2: But thou seest only the dark illusions of thy worldly self.
• 54:57
Speaker 2: Press forward and think only of truth. Look not behind thee,
• 55:03
Speaker 2: nor let thy mind swerve from thy holy resolution. Great
• 55:08
Speaker 2: is the conquest which thou hast entered upon, even the
• 55:12
Speaker 2: mighty conquest of thyself. Be faithful, and thou shalt overcome, Lead.
• 55:19
Speaker 1: Me a master, For my darkness is very great. Clouds
• 55:23
Speaker 1: of selfish thoughts envelop me, and the enemies within my
• 55:27
Speaker 1: mind assail me continually in the snares of my own,
• 55:31
Speaker 1: making my feet a court. And when I think to
• 55:34
Speaker 1: walk firmly, I stumble and fall. Yea, my falls are
• 55:38
Speaker 1: many and grievous, and my wounds frequent and sore. Will
• 55:43
Speaker 1: the darkness lift a master? Will trial end in victory?
• 55:48
Speaker 1: And will it be an end to my many sorrows?
• 55:51
Speaker 2: When thy heart is pure, the darkness will disappear. When
• 55:57
Speaker 2: thy mind is freed from passion, Thou wilt reach the
• 56:01
Speaker 2: end of trial, And when the thought of self preservation
• 56:05
Speaker 2: is yielded up, there will be no more cause for sorrow.
• 56:09
Speaker 2: Thou art now upon the way of discipline and purification.
• 56:14
Speaker 2: All My disciples must walk that way before thou canst
• 56:19
Speaker 2: enter the white light of knowledge, before thou canst behold
• 56:23
Speaker 2: the full glory of truth. All thy impurities must be
• 56:28
Speaker 2: purged away, the delusions dispell'd, and thy mind fortified with endurance.
• 56:35
Speaker 2: Though darkness surroundeth THEE, Though temptation assaileth THEE on every hand,
• 56:41
Speaker 2: though thou art sore, distressed and ceast not before THEE,
• 56:45
Speaker 2: yet relax not thy faith in truth. Forget not that
• 56:51
Speaker 2: truth is eternally supreme. Remember that I, the Lord of Truth,
• 56:56
Speaker 2: am watching over THEE.
• 56:59
Speaker 1: Great is my faith in truth. And I will not forget,
• 57:02
  Speaker 1: but will remember.
• 57:03
Speaker 2: THEE walking faithfully the path of discipline and purification, not
• 57:10
Speaker 2: forsaking and abandoning it, and not longing to enjoy the
• 57:14
Speaker 2: pleasures which thou hast left behind THEE. Thou wilt learn
• 57:18
Speaker 2: those things which are necessary for THEE. Thou wilt learn
• 57:23
Speaker 2: of the nature of sin and the meaning of temptation,
• 57:27
Speaker 2: of suffering and sorrow and their cause and cure, Of
• 57:32
Speaker 2: the fleeting nature of thyself and its pleasures, Of the
• 57:36
Speaker 2: permanence of truth and its abiding peace. Of what are
• 57:40
Speaker 2: the marks of ignorance and what constitutes. Knowledge of what
• 57:44
Speaker 2: makes evil and what is eternally good, of the painfulness
• 57:49
Speaker 2: of self and the bliss of truth. Wilt thou learn.
• 57:54
Speaker 2: Thou wilt also learn of illusion and reality. Be faithful
• 57:58
Speaker 2: and endure, and I will teach THEE all things.
• 58:03
Speaker 1: I will not turn my faith from THEE, nor will
• 58:06
Speaker 1: I desert thy holy way.
• 58:09
Speaker 2: Hear me again, O disciple, walking faithfully the path of
• 58:13
Speaker 2: discipline and purification, not abandoning it, but submitting to its austerities.
• 58:20
Speaker 2: Thou wilt acquire the three lesser powers of discipleship. Thou
• 58:25
Speaker 2: wilt also receive the three greater powers. And the lesser
• 58:30
Speaker 2: and the greater powers will render the invincible. By their aid,
• 58:35
Speaker 2: Thou wilt subdue all sin. Thou wilt overcome the uttermost.
• 58:41
Speaker 2: Thou wilt achieve the supreme conquest.
• 58:45
Speaker 1: What are the lesser and the greater powers?
• 58:48
Speaker 2: Self control, self reliance, and watchfulness. These are the three
• 58:54
Speaker 2: lesser powers. Steadfastness, patience, and gentleness. These are the three
• 59:02
Speaker 2: greater powers. When thy mind is well controlled and in
• 59:06
Speaker 2: thy keeping, when thou reliest upon no external help but
• 59:11
Speaker 2: upon truth alone, and when thou art ceaselessly watchful over
• 59:15
Speaker 2: thy thoughts and actions. Then will the three lesser powers
• 59:20
Speaker 2: be thine. And with these powers thou wilt dispel the
• 59:24
Speaker 2: great darkness. Thou wilt approach the supreme light. Approaching the
• 59:29
Speaker 2: supreme light, thou wilt become steadfastly fixed in truth. Thou
• 59:35
Speaker 2: wilt become patient with an infinite patience, and gentle, with
• 59:39
Speaker 2: the gentleness which nothing can change or mar Then will
• 59:44
Speaker 2: the three greater powers be thine. Then wilt thou come
• 59:48
Speaker 2: to the end of the path of discipline, and wilt
• 59:51
Speaker 2: ascend unto the higher path of knowledge. Walking the path
• 59:55
Speaker 2: of knowledge, thy sorrow will cease, Thy darkness will pass
• 1:00:00
Speaker 2: away forever, and joy and light will wait upon thy footsteps.
• 1:00:07
Speaker 1: I am reassured Oer Master, and am strong to proceed.
• 1:00:12
Speaker 1: I am obedient to thee, and will submit to Thy discipline.
• 1:00:16
Speaker 1: For thou hast comforted me with the word of knowledge,
• 1:00:19
Speaker 1: Thou hast strengthened me with the exhortation of truth. Thou
• 1:00:22
Speaker 1: hast instructed me with the instruction of enlightenment.
• 1:00:27
Speaker 2: Blessed is he who obeys the truth. He shall not
• 1:00:32
Speaker 2: remain comfortless, but shall receive the benediction of peace.
• 1:00:38
Speaker 1: Four of renunciation. Teach a divine Thy light is breaking
• 1:00:44
Speaker 1: in upon my mind. I now know the cause of
• 1:00:47
Speaker 1: my sorrow and suffering. I apprehend the sorrows of mankind
• 1:00:52
Speaker 1: for my sufferings other sufferings of the world. I see
• 1:00:55
Speaker 1: that sorrow and suffering are rooted in self, that evil
• 1:00:59
Speaker 1: and are in the desires of self, and that all
• 1:01:03
Speaker 1: the desires of self must be relinquished. Guide me, i master,
• 1:01:08
Speaker 1: into the way of self sacrifice. Teach me how to
• 1:01:11
Speaker 1: abolish self from the mind. Reveal to me the truth
• 1:01:14
  Speaker 1: about renunciation.
• 1:01:17
Speaker 2: Renunciational disciple is twofold. There is renunciation in the letter.
• 1:01:23
Speaker 2: There is also renunciation in the spirit, the renunciation of
• 1:01:27
Speaker 2: outward things and particular acts. Only this is the false
• 1:01:31
Speaker 2: renunciation in the letter, the renunciation of inward desires and defilements.
• 1:01:38
Speaker 2: This is the true renunciation in the spirit. Beware, or learner,
• 1:01:43
Speaker 2: of the renunciation which is false. Perform thou the renunciation
• 1:01:48
  Speaker 2: which is true.
• 1:01:50
Speaker 1: Instruct me further in a renunciation which is according to truth,
• 1:01:54
Speaker 1: then I will embrace and perform it. So shall I
• 1:01:57
Speaker 1: avoid the renunciation which is erroneous and misleading.
• 1:02:01
Speaker 2: Seek no gratification in the things which thou doest, look
• 1:02:06
Speaker 2: not for reward in the things wherein thou strivest. Do
• 1:02:10
Speaker 2: all thy duties meekly, put away desire. This is the
• 1:02:14
Speaker 2: true renunciation. Do not think of gain or loss to thyself,
• 1:02:20
Speaker 2: think not to obtain pleasure, and avoid pain in thy acts.
• 1:02:24
Speaker 2: Do all things faithfully that are necessary to be done.
• 1:02:29
Speaker 2: This also is the true renunciation. Sever not thyself from
• 1:02:34
Speaker 2: the world, but relinquish all love for the world and
• 1:02:38
Speaker 2: its pleasures. Do thy work in the world without thought
• 1:02:42
Speaker 2: of personal ends. This again is the true renunciation. Not
• 1:02:47
Speaker 2: by the outer things of the world. Is a man defiled.
• 1:02:51
Speaker 2: He is defiled by the low desires of his heart.
• 1:02:55
Speaker 2: To renounce the world, and not to relinquish to clinging
• 1:02:59
Speaker 2: to self. This is the false renunciation. Not from riches
• 1:03:03
Speaker 2: or poverty, not from wife or children, not from power
• 1:03:08
Speaker 2: and servitude. Not from these things do afflictions spring. From
• 1:03:13
Speaker 2: indolence and self indulgence, from lust and covetousness, from hatred
• 1:03:19
Speaker 2: and pride. From these things only do afflictions spring. Renounce
• 1:03:25
Speaker 2: thee evil within, and the things of the world will
• 1:03:29
Speaker 2: not defile thee. Put away all thought of self, and
• 1:03:33
Speaker 2: whatsoever thou doest it will bring to thee no suffering
• 1:03:38
Speaker 2: in all thy duties, forsake the thought of self, and
• 1:03:43
Speaker 2: sorrow will never overtake thee. He who quiteth a duty
• 1:03:48
Speaker 2: that is irksome, seeking happiness thereby, he who fleeth from
• 1:03:54
Speaker 2: the scene of temptation, seeking strength, thereby he who abandon
• 1:04:00
Speaker 2: his obligations, seeking bliss. Thereby such a man, O disciple
• 1:04:06
Speaker 2: falsely renounces he is deluded and will not attain to

Speaker 2: purity of heart. As a brave soldier when death is inevitable,
• 1:04:16
Speaker 2: does not desert his post, thinking of duty only and
• 1:04:20
Speaker 2: not of self preservation. So he who renounces truly remains
• 1:04:26
Speaker 2: in his place in the world, performing all his duties steadfastly,
• 1:04:31
Speaker 2: not thinking of self. Renounce self, o disciple, Renounce all
• 1:04:37
Speaker 2: the tendencies of self. Renounce all the passions and prejudices
• 1:04:42
Speaker 2: of self. Renounce all the errors and egotism of self.
• 1:04:48
Speaker 2: Such is the true renunciation. Such is the sacrifice which
• 1:04:53
Speaker 2: leads to enlightenment and peace.
• 1:04:57
Speaker 1: What amaster are the tendency of the self.
• 1:05:02
Speaker 2: Lust and self indulgence, self seeking and avarice, hatred and anger,
• 1:05:09
Speaker 2: vanity and pride, doubt and fear. These are the tendencies
• 1:05:14
Speaker 2: of self, These are the things that must be renounced.
• 1:05:19
Speaker 1: And these things, O Spirit Immaculate, I will renounce. I
• 1:05:24
Speaker 1: will obliterate them from my mind. I will abolish them
• 1:05:28
Speaker 1: from my inmost heart. For now I see how they
• 1:05:31
Speaker 1: lead men into ways of blindness, that they make sneers
• 1:05:34
Speaker 1: of suffering for the feet of men, that they dig
• 1:05:37
Speaker 1: deep pits of sorrow for men to fall Therein. I rejoice, O,
• 1:05:42
Speaker 1: Divine One, in that which thou hast revealed to me.
• 1:05:46
Speaker 1: For thou hast opened unto me the way of holiness,
• 1:05:49
Speaker 1: thou hast pointed out to me the straight path of peace.
• 1:05:53
Speaker 1: Thou hast shown me how to walk the sure way

Speaker 1: of wisdom. THEE will I follow, lead me to Thy law.
• 1:06:01
Speaker 2: Blessed is he who follows where I lead. He shall
• 1:06:05
Speaker 2: ascend unto the high and heavenly places. He shall behold

Speaker 2: with the vision that is faultless. He shall see with

Speaker 2: the eye of truth, which comprehendeth all things.

• 1:06:24
Speaker 1: discipline and purification, while walking the holy way of renunciation,
• 1:06:28
Speaker 1: let ye behold the beauty of thy purity. Reveal to
• 1:06:31
Speaker 1: me the purity which is divine. For I would know
• 1:06:34
Speaker 1: the highest even truth. I would gaze upon thy face,
• 1:06:38
Speaker 1: O Master, I would behold thy glory. I would see
• 1:06:42
Speaker 1: thee as thou art.
• 1:06:44
Speaker 2: He who rightly renounces, who humbly purges his heart of self,
• 1:06:50
Speaker 2: who diligently searches for truth, not for selfish pleasures. He,
• 1:06:56
Speaker 2: my lonely one, shall find my purity. Hey, my faithful one,
• 1:07:01
Speaker 2: shall surely see my face. He, my chosen one, shall
• 1:07:07
Speaker 2: come to me at last.
• 1:07:09
Speaker 1: Thou art my refuge in my dwelling place. My eyes,

Speaker 1: I know, were wrist on thee. At last, my heart
• 1:07:17
Speaker 1: at last will stay itself on thee. Show me the
• 1:07:20
Speaker 1: highest and holiest way, even the stainless way of purity.
• 1:07:26
Speaker 2: Thou art ready to be washed free from thy defilements.
• 1:07:30
Speaker 2: As a vessel. Thou art ready to be cleansed. And
• 1:07:34
Speaker 2: when thou art cleansed, thou shalt be filled with the
• 1:07:38
Speaker 2: pure water of truth. By these four things is the
• 1:07:43
Speaker 2: heart defiled, the craving for pleasures, the clinging to temporal things,
• 1:07:49
Speaker 2: the love of self, the lust for personal continuance. From
• 1:07:54
Speaker 2: these four defilements spring all sins and sorrows. Wash thou
• 1:08:01
Speaker 2: thy heart, put away sensual cravings. Detach the mind from
• 1:08:07
Speaker 2: the wish for possession, abandon self defense and self importance,
• 1:08:14
Speaker 2: and do not long for personal immortality. Thus putting away
• 1:08:20
Speaker 2: all cravings, thou wilt attain to satisfaction. Detaching thy mind
• 1:08:26
Speaker 2: from the love of perishable things, thou wilt acquire wisdom.
• 1:08:32
Speaker 2: Abandoning the thought of self, thou wilt come to peace,
• 1:08:37
Speaker 2: and not lusting for eternal life, Thou wilt realize the

Speaker 2: incorruptible truth. He is pure, who is free from desire,

Speaker 2: who does not crave for sensual excitements, who sets no

Speaker 2: rest is sure, his peace is not disturbed. He knows
• 1:09:23
Speaker 2: what constitutes holiness. He understands the stainlessness of truth.
• 1:09:31
Speaker 1: I will cleanse my heart with the cleansing of truth.
• 1:09:34
Speaker 1: I will be pure as thou art pure. I will
• 1:09:37
Speaker 1: put away the thought of pleasure. I will not covert

Speaker 1: perishable things my personality. I will regard as of no importance,
• 1:09:46
Speaker 1: ceasing to crave for its eternal continuance. Death comes to
• 1:09:50
Speaker 1: all men, and the tears of sorrow flow. But truth
• 1:09:54
Speaker 1: is eternal, and its knowledge leads to peace. I followed self,
• 1:09:58
Speaker 1: but it was filled with pain. I followed the world,
• 1:10:02
Speaker 1: but it was fraught with heavy sorrow. But now, o
• 1:10:06
Speaker 1: Master of Truth, I follow thee, and thou art leading
• 1:10:09
Speaker 1: me to bliss unspeakable. Thou directest thy steps into the
• 1:10:13
Speaker 1: way of purity and peace.
• 1:10:16
Speaker 2: Be strenuous in effort, strong in resolution, patient in endurance.
• 1:10:23
Speaker 2: So wilt thou overcome all sin. Thou wilt become divinely
• 1:10:29
Speaker 2: pure sorrow and pain thou wilt altogether subdue, and thou
• 1:10:35
Speaker 2: wilt acquire joy and strength and equanimity.
• 1:10:40
  Speaker 1: Sikhs of righteousness.
• 1:10:44
Speaker 2: Stand up, son of light, and put on the garment
• 1:10:47
Speaker 2: of righteousness. Rejoice and enter the glad way of holiness.
• 1:10:52
Speaker 2: Open thine eyes and behold the glory of truth. For
• 1:10:57
Speaker 2: thou hast been faithful and obedient, thou hast been patient
• 1:11:01
Speaker 2: and enduring. Thou hast conquered and overcome the great enemy,
• 1:11:07
Speaker 2: even self. Thou hast slain the great darkness, even the
• 1:11:13
Speaker 2: darkness of ignorance. Thou hast dispersed the great veil, even
• 1:11:18
Speaker 2: the veil of illusion, Thou hast torn asunder. Henceforth, thou
• 1:11:24
Speaker 2: shalt walk in the way of knowledge. Thou shalt dwell
• 1:11:28
Speaker 2: with peace. Thou shalt bask in the light of immortality.
• 1:11:33
Speaker 2: Rise up, son of truth, in my divine dignity. Put

Speaker 2: on the shining life of righteousness. For thou art no
• 1:11:42
Speaker 2: longer self. Thou art truth. Thy deeds will be according
• 1:11:47
Speaker 2: to the eternal, and thou wilt be a beacon to mankind.
• 1:11:53
Speaker 1: Now, o Master, I see THEE as thou art. I
• 1:11:57
Speaker 1: see thy ineffable beauty and glory. How can darkness d
• 1:12:01
Speaker 1: well where thou art? How can sin and sorrow approach Thee?
• 1:12:06
Speaker 1: I am dazzled by the power of thy majesty. Thou
• 1:12:09
Speaker 1: art Truth. Thou art the Eternal, and he who knoweth
• 1:12:14
Speaker 1: THEE liveth in thy light. He doeth the deeds of
• 1:12:17
Speaker 1: light and not of darkness. Point out to me, now,
• 1:12:22
Speaker 1: o Master, the righteous way, reveal unto me the jewels
• 1:12:26
Speaker 1: of the perfect life. Instruct me in the doing which
• 1:12:30
Speaker 1: is according to the eternal, so that I may be
• 1:12:33
  Speaker 1: watchful and fail.
• 1:12:34
Speaker 2: Not Unrighteous is he whose acts are born of self.
• 1:12:40
Speaker 2: Righteous is he whose acts are born of truth. The
• 1:12:44
Speaker 2: unrighteous man is swayed by his feelings. Likes and dislikes
• 1:12:49
Speaker 2: are his masters. Prejudices and partialities blind him, desiring and suffering,
• 1:12:56
Speaker 2: craving and sorrowing self control, he knows not, and great
• 1:13:02
Speaker 2: is his unrest. The righteous man is master of his moods,
• 1:13:08
Speaker 2: likes and dislikes. He has abandoned as childish things, prejudice
• 1:13:14
Speaker 2: and partiality he has put away, desiring nothing. He does
• 1:13:19
Speaker 2: not suffer, not craving, enjoyment, sorrow does not overtake him.
• 1:13:26
Speaker 2: Perfect in self control, great peace abides with him. Do
• 1:13:31
Speaker 2: not condemn, resent or retaliate. Do not argue or become
• 1:13:36
Speaker 2: a partisan. Maintain thy calmness with all sides. Be just
• 1:13:43
Speaker 2: and speak truth. Act in gentleness, compassion, and charity. Be
• 1:13:50
Speaker 2: infinitely patient. Hold fast to love and let it shape
• 1:13:56
Speaker 2: thy doing. Have good will to all, with out distinction.
• 1:14:01
Speaker 2: Think equally of all, and be disturbed by none. Be
• 1:14:06
Speaker 2: thoughtful and wise, strong and kind hearted. Be watchful. Let
• 1:14:12
Speaker 2: no thought of self again creep in and stain thee.
• 1:14:16
Speaker 2: Think of thyself as abolished, dispersed in all thy doing.
• 1:14:22
Speaker 2: Think of the good of others and of the world,
• 1:14:25
Speaker 2: and not of pleasure or reward to thyself. Thou art
• 1:14:30
Speaker 2: no longer separate and divided from men. Thou art one withal.
• 1:14:36
Speaker 2: No longer strive against others for thyself, but sympathize with all,
• 1:14:43
Speaker 2: Regard no man as thine enemy. Thou art the friend
• 1:14:47
Speaker 2: of all men. Be at peace withal. Pour out compassion
• 1:14:53
Speaker 2: on all living things. Let boundless charity adorn thy words
• 1:14:58
Speaker 2: and deeds. Such is the glad way of truth. Such
• 1:15:04
Speaker 2: is the doing which is according to the eternal. Filled
• 1:15:08
Speaker 2: with joy, is the right doer. He acts from principles
• 1:15:13
Speaker 2: which do not change and pass away, abandoning personality. He
• 1:15:18
Speaker 2: has become a power. He is one with the eternal,
• 1:15:23
Speaker 2: and has passed beyond unrest. The peace of the righteous
• 1:15:27
Speaker 2: man is perfect. It is not disturbed by change and impermanence,
• 1:15:33
Speaker 2: freed from passion. It is equal minded, calm, and does
• 1:15:38
Speaker 2: not sorrow. He sees things as they are, and is
• 1:15:43
  Speaker 2: no more confused.
• 1:15:45
Speaker 1: Thou hast closed me a master with righteousness, the perfect
• 1:15:50
Speaker 1: life thou hast revealed to me. Thou hast shown me
• 1:15:53
Speaker 1: the holy and the happy way. So fish abolished. An
• 1:15:57
Speaker 1: I am thine, my thoughts to that thoughts. My words
• 1:16:01
Speaker 1: are thy words, My deeds are Thy deeds. Thou art eternal,
• 1:16:06
Speaker 1: and all my doings shall be from thee A lad
• 1:16:10
Speaker 1: is the fever of life dispersed. Is all the darkness
• 1:16:13
Speaker 1: of the mind. Uncertainty and unrest have vanished away. Sin
• 1:16:18
Speaker 1: and suffering are ended, and peace abides forever.
• 1:16:23
Speaker 2: Thou hast opened thine eyes to the eternal light. Thou
• 1:16:28
Speaker 2: art no more self deceived nor self afflicted. Enter now,
• 1:16:33
Speaker 2: o disciple, the high way of divine knowledge, and receive
• 1:16:39
Speaker 2: the bliss of immortality.
• 1:16:42
Speaker 1: Seven of knowledge of the law. Show unto me, Now,
• 1:16:47
Speaker 1: o Master, the perfect knowledge, Reveal unto me the working
• 1:16:51
Speaker 1: of Thy law. Illuminate my mind with the wisdom of enlightenment.
• 1:16:56
Speaker 2: The law of life is perfect. Nothing can be added
• 1:17:00
Speaker 2: to it or taken from it. It cannot be altered
• 1:17:04
Speaker 2: or improved. None can avoid or escape it. Its operations
• 1:17:10
Speaker 2: are just. It is eternal and abides in the midst
• 1:17:14
Speaker 2: of change. By it, all things are protected, and there
• 1:17:20
Speaker 2: is no confusion. The good is preserved in bliss and peace.
• 1:17:26
Speaker 2: The evil is purified with punishment and suffering. Knowledge. It
• 1:17:32
Speaker 2: crowns with calmness ignorance. Its scourges with unrest. It works
• 1:17:38
Speaker 2: with twofold action. It is eternal causation. It takes note
• 1:17:44
Speaker 2: of every thought and deed. Thou hast attained, o disciple
• 1:17:49
Speaker 2: to spiritual vision. Look now upon the world, and tell
• 1:17:55
Speaker 2: me what thou seest.
• 1:17:57
Speaker 1: I see, er Master, great darkness called ignorance. I see
• 1:18:02
Speaker 1: lurking therein the smoldering sparks of desire. I see how
• 1:18:06
Speaker 1: those sparks gather strength, they intensify into flaming passions. And
• 1:18:11
Speaker 1: over all mankind are heavy clouds of sorrow. And these
• 1:18:15
Speaker 1: are for the quenching of passions.
• 1:18:18
Speaker 2: Thou hast well seen. Look again, and say what thou beholdest.
• 1:18:25
Speaker 1: My sight hath pierced the cloudy veil of sorrow. And
• 1:18:28
Speaker 1: above all I see the great light cord Truth. And
• 1:18:32
Speaker 1: there is no darkness therein. No desires can enter there,
• 1:18:36
Speaker 1: and there are no consuming passions. There is no weeping
• 1:18:40
  Speaker 1: and no unrest.
• 1:18:42
Speaker 2: Thou hast seen, all, disciple, the law of life. Thou
• 1:18:47
Speaker 2: hast perceived the twofold action of the law. There is
• 1:18:51
Speaker 2: ignorance which fosters desire. Desire is the painful hunger to obtain.
• 1:18:58
Speaker 2: It is also the feverish clinging to that which is obtained.
• 1:19:03
Speaker 2: Thence arises separation from the thing desired, and this is
• 1:19:08
Speaker 2: suffering and sorrow. From desire also arises egotism or selfishness.
• 1:19:15
Speaker 2: Thus is created an illusory self, and in the delusion
• 1:19:20
Speaker 2: of the self is the nightmare of the world's woe.
• 1:19:24
Speaker 2: Thus man suffers by the action of the law. He
• 1:19:28
Speaker 2: can also escape suffering by the action of the law.
• 1:19:32
Speaker 2: When desire is abandoned, the painful hunger of the mind
• 1:19:36
Speaker 2: is cured, the burning fever of clinging to things is assuaged,
• 1:19:42
Speaker 2: and there is no separation and sorrow. Thence arises union
• 1:19:46
Speaker 2: with all that is, and this is satisfaction, bliss and peace.
• 1:19:53
Speaker 2: From non desire also proceed humility and love. The delusion
• 1:19:59
Speaker 2: of a permanent and separate individuality is destroyed. The preservation
• 1:20:04
Speaker 2: of the self is abandoned, and thus is cut away
• 1:20:07
Speaker 2: the ground of hatred and pride and selfishness then arises holiness.
• 1:20:16
Speaker 2: The reality of things is revealed, Truth is perceived, comprehended,
• 1:20:21
Speaker 2: and known, and this is the knowledge of the law.
• 1:20:26
Speaker 2: This is the bliss of immortality.
• 1:20:29
Speaker 1: Very simple is the law o truth. Yet who shall
• 1:20:33
Speaker 1: comprehend it? Beautiful to behold? Yet, who can gaze upon it? Faultless, inequity?
• 1:20:40
Speaker 1: Yet who will listen and receive it?
• 1:20:43
Speaker 2: The pure hearted one receives, beholds, and comprehends. He acts
• 1:20:49
Speaker 2: with the action that is not attained by sin. His
• 1:20:53
Speaker 2: charity is without limit. It embraces all living things. He
• 1:20:58
Speaker 2: perceives with the vision that does not err. He does
• 1:21:02
Speaker 2: not condemn. Knowing the perfect law, and knowing the perfect law,
• 1:21:07
Speaker 2: he has entered into peace.
• 1:21:10
Speaker 1: Where knowledge is perfected, peace abides. Great is the calmness
• 1:21:14
Speaker 1: of the wise. Deep is the peace of the pure, perfect,
• 1:21:19
Speaker 1: the bliss of them that know the truth. Still, to
• 1:21:22
Speaker 1: the tempests of the mind, there is no more perturbation.
• 1:21:26
Speaker 1: There is a haven for the storm tossed, a home
• 1:21:29
Speaker 1: for them that are lost and forsaken, a refuge for
• 1:21:33
Speaker 1: all who wander in the night. I have found thee
• 1:21:37
  Speaker 1: Thou eternal One.
• 1:21:38
Speaker 2: At last, Thou hast sought and found, Thou hast fought
• 1:21:44
Speaker 2: and conquered, Thou hast striven and attained. He who has
• 1:21:50
Speaker 2: afflicted has become the healer of men. The child has
• 1:21:55
Speaker 2: become the instructor, the pupil has become the teacher. Disciple
• 1:22:01
Speaker 2: and the Master are one. What I am that thou
• 1:22:06
Speaker 2: art abide with me in peace? Benediction, and now peace
• 1:22:16
Speaker 2: abides self is dispersed, and there is no more anguish.
• 1:22:22
Speaker 2: Truth is attained, and affliction has ceased to be. The
• 1:22:27
Speaker 2: pilgrimage of pain is finished. There is no more toil
• 1:22:32
Speaker 2: and darkness. There is no more doubt and weeping. Unrest
• 1:22:38
Speaker 2: and sorrow have vanished away. Love folds the world to
• 1:22:45
Speaker 2: all that suffer peace.

• 1:25:46
Speaker 1: good is expounded, and the great reality of a stainless
• 1:25:50
Speaker 1: life is accomplished. The truth of the ages is made
• 1:25:54
Speaker 1: plain in that habernacle of the Holy Heart. It is revealed.
• 1:25:59
Speaker 1: The guileless perceive it, the righteous hear it, the holy
• 1:26:03
Speaker 1: realize it. It is manifested in all its glory in
• 1:26:07
Speaker 1: the conqueror of sin. Ye that search in the darkness,
• 1:26:11
Speaker 1: come now unto the light. Ye that see the evil
• 1:26:15
Speaker 1: and the woe without, Come with me, and I will
• 1:26:18
Speaker 1: show you its source. Go ye into the secret chambers
• 1:26:22
Speaker 1: of your hearts. Seek there until ye find meditate there
• 1:26:27
Speaker 1: until ye awake. He that dreams in self is asleep
• 1:26:32
Speaker 1: in truth. The dreamer can neither know himself nor the awakened.
• 1:26:37
Speaker 1: The awakened knoweth both himself and the dreamer. He also
• 1:26:41
Speaker 1: knoweth the emptiness of the thing dreamed. The sleeper in
• 1:26:45
Speaker 1: self is involved in evil. He is encompassed with darkness,
• 1:26:50
Speaker 1: he is surrounded with woe. Such is the plight of
• 1:26:53
Speaker 1: the dreamer, and the source, continuance and end of evil
• 1:26:57
Speaker 1: are hidden from him. Awake, therefore, ye that sleep, awake
• 1:27:03
Speaker 1: from the sleep of lust, Awake from the slumber of hatred.
• 1:27:08
Speaker 1: Come out of the painful dreams of avarice, self indulgence, vanity,
• 1:27:12
Speaker 1: and pride. Shake off the nightmare of doubt. Be drugged
• 1:27:17
Speaker 1: no more by groundless faith, by error and a clinging
• 1:27:21
Speaker 1: unto death. End ye the sleep of self, and awake
• 1:27:25
Speaker 1: in the reality of truth, For the end of self
• 1:27:28
Speaker 1: is a beginning of truth. Behold the glorious truth. Awake, Awake, awake,
• 1:27:37
Speaker 1: ye are sleeping, ye are dreaming. Awake suns of the morning,
• 1:27:43
Speaker 1: and fill the world with music. Come ye and dwell
• 1:27:47
Speaker 1: in the light. Come ye and tread the path of perfection.
• 1:27:51
Speaker 1: Come ye and be exalted with the exultation of holiness.
• 1:27:56
Speaker 1: So shall ye know the supreme love and peace. The
• 1:28:02
Speaker 1: second prophecy, called the Messiah. Consider the signs of the times.
• 1:28:09
Speaker 1: War is rampant, strife is raging, and the fires of
• 1:28:13
Speaker 1: passion are devastating the earth. Nation is opposed to nation,
• 1:28:18
Speaker 1: creed to creed, and system to system. Science has discovered
• 1:28:23
Speaker 1: its own weakness. Philosophy has confounded philosophy, and a confusion
• 1:28:28
Speaker 1: of mental tongues has become universal. Yet in the height
• 1:28:32
Speaker 1: of all this confusion, in the midst of the fierce
• 1:28:35
Speaker 1: clash of prejudice and a passion, one has descended, whose
• 1:28:39
Speaker 1: name is Love, whose mission is peace, and whose end
• 1:28:44
Speaker 1: is unity. Walking in amidst is he, But men know
• 1:28:48
Speaker 1: him not because of their infirmities. Yet at his touch
• 1:28:52
Speaker 1: the blind receive their sight. The deaf here and the
• 1:28:55
Speaker 1: lame walk silently hoily is he working in isolated hearts.
• 1:29:01
Speaker 1: Here and there a disciple is called, and he hears
• 1:29:05
Speaker 1: and follows. And the disciple knows his master, and the
• 1:29:09
Speaker 1: master his disciple. The chosen few have not been deaft
• 1:29:13
Speaker 1: to the command follow me, And they have followed with
• 1:29:17
Speaker 1: sure and certain steps. They have gazed upon the face
• 1:29:21
Speaker 1: of the serene One. They have sat at the feet
• 1:29:24
Speaker 1: of the perfect One. They have accepted the instruction of
• 1:29:27
Speaker 1: the Holy One, and peace abides with them. They walk
• 1:29:31
Speaker 1: amongst men and are not discerned. They have relinquished all
• 1:29:35
Speaker 1: strife in their inmost hearts, hating none, condemning none, They
• 1:29:41
Speaker 1: have entered the gate of forgiveness. Good Will is a
• 1:29:44
Speaker 1: breath of their nostrils, and boundless charity is the master
• 1:29:47
Speaker 1: of their thoughts. They have ceased from vain longings. They
• 1:29:51
Speaker 1: have chased away all fluctuating desires. They have passed through
• 1:29:55
Speaker 1: the gait of sacrifice. They have clothed themselves with the
• 1:29:59
Speaker 1: garment of Him. They tread the path of good, and
• 1:30:03
Speaker 1: their gait is steadfast. Fear and doubt they have dispersed.
• 1:30:08
Speaker 1: They walk upon the turbulent waters of sorrow, and they
• 1:30:11
Speaker 1: sink not and are comforted. They are no longer confounded
• 1:30:15
Speaker 1: by false philosophy. They have passed through the sea and
• 1:30:18
Speaker 1: the desert, and have entered the promised Land. And these
• 1:30:22
Speaker 1: are they who have been born again for the salvation
• 1:30:24
Speaker 1: of the world. In the time of darkness, they have
• 1:30:28
Speaker 1: accepted the light. In the time of evil, they have
• 1:30:31
Speaker 1: chosen the good. In the day of self seeking, they
• 1:30:34
Speaker 1: have silenced the many voices of self, and have followed
• 1:30:37
Speaker 1: the one voice whose music harmonizes all. Therefore they rejoice,
• 1:30:43
Speaker 1: not blind to the evil, but because the omniscient One
• 1:30:47
Speaker 1: has shown them the end of evil. Yea in themselves,
• 1:30:51
Speaker 1: they have already accomplished that end, For they have become
• 1:30:54
Speaker 1: one with Him whom they have followed. All that belongs
• 1:30:58
Speaker 1: to the world they have given to the world, and
• 1:31:00
Speaker 1: they have not murmured. The clouds of confusion do not
• 1:31:04
Speaker 1: darken them, and the fires of passion do not scorch them. Therefore,
• 1:31:09
Speaker 1: let gladness reign, For with the great darkness of these times,
• 1:31:14
Speaker 1: there has also come great light. Though the rivers of
• 1:31:17
Speaker 1: sorrow are swollen high, the banks are perfumed with the
• 1:31:21
Speaker 1: flowers of blessedness. Though strife is raging, peace has entered
• 1:31:26
Speaker 1: into their midst. Though confusion has covered the earth, unity
• 1:31:31
Speaker 1: has been revealed. And though many continue to dream the
• 1:31:34
Speaker 1: dreams illusion, the visions of the Great Reality have gladdened
• 1:31:38
Speaker 1: the ken of the wakeful. Awake, ye sleepers, arouse yourself,
• 1:31:44
Speaker 1: ye dreamers, when will ye open your eyes and see?
• 1:31:49
Speaker 1: The Perfect One has appeared. The stainless majesty of the
• 1:31:52
Speaker 1: Holy One is revealed his sleepless watchers have hailed him,
• 1:31:57
Speaker 1: and he has borne away their weariness. Come, then, ye sorrowing,
• 1:32:02
Speaker 1: and be glad. Come ye weary and find peace. Come
• 1:32:07
Speaker 1: ye toilers, and be at rest. For the longing of
• 1:32:11
Speaker 1: the ages is fulfilled, and he whom we call Master
• 1:32:15
Speaker 1: has appeared. He is the sacred inmost heart of love.
• 1:32:22
Speaker 1: The third prophecy called the all One to do good
• 1:32:27
Speaker 1: and to remain unknown. Let this be called humility, to
• 1:32:31
Speaker 1: bless one's persecutors. Let this be called love, to rejoice
• 1:32:36
Speaker 1: at the good fortune of one's enemies. Let this be
• 1:32:39
Speaker 1: called perfection. Thus is the all One manifested. Thus is
• 1:32:45
Speaker 1: the truth made known. The knowers of the all One
• 1:32:48
Speaker 1: are perfect. They are without sin, dwelling in truth, and
• 1:32:52
Speaker 1: robed with holiness. Behold, the all One is revealed. He
• 1:32:58
Speaker 1: is made known to his worshipers. The garment of evil
• 1:33:01
Speaker 1: has fallen away from them, and they put on the
• 1:33:04
Speaker 1: perfect garment of good. The old bottles of error are broken,
• 1:33:08
Speaker 1: and the new bottles of truth are filled with the
• 1:33:11
Speaker 1: wine of life. The believers in the all One drink
• 1:33:15
Speaker 1: and are satisfied. And the doers of his word enter
• 1:33:18
Speaker 1: into the joy of immortality, and Who are they that
• 1:33:22
Speaker 1: believe in the all One? Who are the doers of
• 1:33:25
Speaker 1: his word? The believer and the doer is known by
• 1:33:28
Speaker 1: these sure signs. He is freed from ignorance and is
• 1:33:32
Speaker 1: not enslaved by likes and dislikes. He is freed from
• 1:33:36
Speaker 1: hatred and does not condemn. He is freed from partiality
• 1:33:41
Speaker 1: and does not engage in strife. He is freed from
• 1:33:44
Speaker 1: self seeking and does not defend himself. He never lets
• 1:33:48
Speaker 1: go of patience, He does not doff the robe of purity.
• 1:33:53
Speaker 1: He goes not out from the dwelling place of love.
• 1:33:57
Speaker 1: The Knower of the all One is perfect in knowledge.
• 1:34:00
Speaker 1: He is blameless in thought, word, and deed. The all
• 1:34:04
Speaker 1: One is sought by practice. He is perceived by knowledge,
• 1:34:08
Speaker 1: and he is realized by the perfection of practice and
• 1:34:12
Speaker 1: the consummation of knowledge. To rise above good and evil,
• 1:34:16
Speaker 1: hatred and love, prejudice and error, desire and pain, self
• 1:34:22
Speaker 1: love and sorrow, passion and remorse, life and death is
• 1:34:27
Speaker 1: to enter the unending peace of the all One. Is
• 1:34:31
Speaker 1: To realize the immortality of the all One is to
• 1:34:34
Speaker 1: become the all One. The all One is at perfect good,
• 1:34:39
Speaker 1: which is beyond both good and evil. He is at
• 1:34:42
Speaker 1: perfect love, which neutralizes love and hate. He is at
• 1:34:46
Speaker 1: perfect life, which is not broken by life and death.
• 1:34:50
Speaker 1: He that would know him, let him become his disciple.
• 1:34:54
Speaker 1: Let him remove the ever changing opposites within, until he
• 1:34:57
Speaker 1: comes to that which changes not. So shall he find
• 1:35:01
Speaker 1: the eternal rock, even the blessed all One, the master
• 1:35:05
Speaker 1: of peace. He that searches without he shall not find.
• 1:35:10
Speaker 1: He that is proud of his knowledge, he shall not find.
• 1:35:14
Speaker 1: He that fortifies himself against others, he shall not find.
• 1:35:19
Speaker 1: Realize our disciple, Thine inward error, thine inward delusion, Thine
• 1:35:24
Speaker 1: inward ignorance, Thine inward delusion. Rooted in self, and having realized,
• 1:35:30
Speaker 1: leave error and cling to truth, Fly from ignorance to
• 1:35:35
Speaker 1: the knowledge that is pure, and fortify thyself against the
• 1:35:39
Speaker 1: enemies within thyself. By this way is the all One
• 1:35:42
Speaker 1: approached by none other. Is he accessible. He that is
• 1:35:47
Speaker 1: willing to be naked to self, let him come and
• 1:35:50
Speaker 1: be clothed with truth. He that is willing to die
• 1:35:53
Speaker 1: to error, let him come and be reborn as a
• 1:35:56
Speaker 1: child of truth. He that is willing to become empty,
• 1:36:00
Speaker 1: let him come and be filled with the knowledge of
• 1:36:02
Speaker 1: the all One, the good that is supreme, the humility
• 1:36:06
Speaker 1: that is sublime, the love that transcends all sorrow. To
• 1:36:11
Speaker 1: this attainment, shall he surely come who seeks the all
• 1:36:14
Speaker 1: one by the path of peace. The fourth prophecy called
• 1:36:21
Speaker 1: unrest the voice of the Spirit. To the children of
• 1:36:26
Speaker 1: the flesh. This is darkness to be enslaved by sin,
• 1:36:33
Speaker 1: This is light, to be free from sin. There is
• 1:36:36
Speaker 1: a place of darkness, a dwelling place of deep darkness.
• 1:36:40
Speaker 1: And they who abide their cry out of their unrest.
• 1:36:44
Speaker 1: They cry and are not heard, because their cry is
• 1:36:47
Speaker 1: of self. They call upon their God, but the silence
• 1:36:51
Speaker 1: is not broken. The echo of their own voice they hear,
• 1:36:55
Speaker 1: and it affrights them, and they remain in their sins.
• 1:36:59
Speaker 1: And remain in their sins, they shall cry. We have
• 1:37:03
Speaker 1: sown wheat and have reaped straw. We have plowed, but
• 1:37:07
Speaker 1: we have no produce of our labor, and lo the
• 1:37:11
Speaker 1: great famine is upon us. We stored away much grain,
• 1:37:14
Speaker 1: but the rats have devoured it. We put away much fruit,
• 1:37:17
Speaker 1: but it has decayed, and the long winter is before us.
• 1:37:21
Speaker 1: We bartered and acquired much gold, yet we perish for
• 1:37:25
Speaker 1: some the thief has stolen, and the rest is moldy.
• 1:37:29
Speaker 1: What shall we purchase? Having no bread? There is no bread,
• 1:37:33
Speaker 1: and no cellar of bread. We die, and there is
• 1:37:36
Speaker 1: none to save us. And again, in their deep bitterness,
• 1:37:40
Speaker 1: they shall say, we have toiled mightily, but we have
• 1:37:44
Speaker 1: no reward. That which we built is destroyed, that which
• 1:37:48
Speaker 1: we made secure is undermined, And all our wonderful works
• 1:37:52
Speaker 1: are crumbling away. We ate and slept, but now we
• 1:37:56
Speaker 1: are afflicted. We made sacrifices, yet now we are deserted.
• 1:38:01
Speaker 1: We build ourselves pleasant mansions, and there is no rest
• 1:38:04
Speaker 1: in them. Our sorrows are as the deep seas, Our
• 1:38:08
Speaker 1: miseries are as the great mountains. Our woes are many,
• 1:38:12
Speaker 1: and our pains are great. There is no cure for
• 1:38:15
Speaker 1: our diseases. There is no relief for our sorrows. We
• 1:38:19
Speaker 1: are weary, and there is no rest. So shall they cry,
• 1:38:24
Speaker 1: and they shall not be heard. So shall they suffer
• 1:38:28
Speaker 1: and shall not be relieved. And they shall seek for
• 1:38:31
Speaker 1: rest and shall not find it. For in the place
• 1:38:35
Speaker 1: of darkness, in the dwelling place of deep darkness, there
• 1:38:39
Speaker 1: is no remedy, there is no redress, there is no salvation.
• 1:38:44
Speaker 1: Where self is lord and king, there is no peace.
• 1:38:49
Speaker 1: Ye who are in the way of impurity, Ye who
• 1:38:52
Speaker 1: are the subjects of self. Listen, though ye understand not here,
• 1:38:57
Speaker 1: for the day cometh when the precepts of the pro
• 1:39:00
Speaker 1: are remembered, and his words are burned into the heart
• 1:39:03
Speaker 1: with brands of fire, where there shall come upon you
• 1:39:07
Speaker 1: the night which is more than darkness, the hunger which
• 1:39:10
Speaker 1: is more than famine, and the deprivation which is more
• 1:39:14
Speaker 1: than death. When love shall be crucified, and hatred be
• 1:39:18
Speaker 1: set free, when peace shall be banished and strife be glorified,
• 1:39:23
Speaker 1: when righteousness shall be mocked, and confusion shall flourish, And
• 1:39:28
Speaker 1: the voice of the prophet is no longer heard. When
• 1:39:31
Speaker 1: that time comes, and ye cry and are not heard,
• 1:39:35
Speaker 1: suffer and are not relieved, sorrow and are not comforted,
• 1:39:40
Speaker 1: remember this, He that rouseth himself early seeth the sun rise.
• 1:39:45
Speaker 1: He that watcheth diligently and taketh a light findeth his
• 1:39:50
Speaker 1: way out of the darkness. And he that striveth with
• 1:39:53
Speaker 1: an uncomplaining heart is crowned with the crown of peace.
• 1:40:01
Speaker 1: The fifth prophecy called Transition the voice of the Spirit
• 1:40:07
Speaker 1: to the children of sorrow. Arise, ye awake, open your
• 1:40:12
Speaker 1: eyes and see why will he sleep the sleep that
• 1:40:16
Speaker 1: is painful. Come out of the night of unrest, out
• 1:40:20
Speaker 1: of the dark nightmare of sin and affliction. For there
• 1:40:24
Speaker 1: is a way out of the place of darkness, and
• 1:40:27
Speaker 1: out of the dwelling place of deep darkness, a pathway
• 1:40:30
Speaker 1: that is sure. There shall be light and safety. There
• 1:40:34
Speaker 1: shall be rest and healing, there shall be joy and satisfaction.
• 1:40:39
Speaker 1: There shall be no more dreaming. For him who is awake,
• 1:40:43
Speaker 1: who says, with deep resolve, I will abandon self, and
• 1:40:47
Speaker 1: truth shall be my lord. And thus resolving, there shall
• 1:40:51
Speaker 1: appear upon his right hand a gateway that is dark,
• 1:40:55
Speaker 1: and upon his left hand a portal pleasant to behold.
• 1:40:58
Speaker 1: And he shall stoop and enter the gateway that is dark,
• 1:41:02
Speaker 1: And there shall come behind him mockeries and revilings and
• 1:41:06
Speaker 1: laughter that stingeth. And entering, he shall take up two swords.
• 1:41:11
Speaker 1: The first is called the sword of searching, and the
• 1:41:14
Speaker 1: second is called the sword of dividing. And with the
• 1:41:18
Speaker 1: sword of searching he shall destroy the enemies of wisdom.
• 1:41:21
Speaker 1: And with the sword of dividing he shall sever good
• 1:41:24
Speaker 1: from evil. He shall encounter all the enemies of light,
• 1:41:28
Speaker 1: them that cast the great shadow, he shall disperse and
• 1:41:31
Speaker 1: the strong keepers are the keys of hell. He shall
• 1:41:34
Speaker 1: put to rout. He shall pass through the fire called suffering,
• 1:41:38
Speaker 1: and it shall not devour him. He shall cross the
• 1:41:41
Speaker 1: dark ocean called sorrow, and it shall not swallow him up.
• 1:41:45
Speaker 1: And when he cometh to the great desert called desertion,
• 1:41:49
Speaker 1: he shall not turn back. And he shall come out
• 1:41:52
Speaker 1: of all his darkness. He shall find the shadowless light.
• 1:41:57
Speaker 1: Upon the outermost edge of the great darkness. He shall
• 1:42:00
Speaker 1: hear a voice, the voice of the Holy One. Then
• 1:42:04
Speaker 1: shall he know that the King of Truth is near,
• 1:42:06
Speaker 1: and that there cometh the Anointed Prince of Peace. And
• 1:42:10
Speaker 1: he shall follow the voice, because it is gentle and true,
• 1:42:13
Speaker 1: and it shall lead him to the eternal abode of light,
• 1:42:17
Speaker 1: where every veil shall be lifted, at every mystery solved,
• 1:42:21
Speaker 1: and he shall perceive the majesty of the Master of Truth.
• 1:42:24
Speaker 1: He shall behold the beauty of the Law of Righteousness.
• 1:42:28
Speaker 1: He shall gaze upon the glory of the Great Reality.
• 1:42:31
Speaker 1: He shall hear the song of the Redeemed, even this,
• 1:42:35
Speaker 1: the sweet song of salvation. Sin is destroyed. How perfect
• 1:42:40
Speaker 1: is the law. Sorrow is slain, How mighty is love?
• 1:42:45
Speaker 1: The clouds of affliction are dispersed. How glorious is the light,
• 1:42:50
Speaker 1: error is fallen, How immaculate is the truth. Awake, ye sleepers,
• 1:42:56
Speaker 1: rejoice in the truth. Look up, ye fall ball and
• 1:43:00
Speaker 1: rejoice in the light. Let the thirsty come and drink,
• 1:43:05
Speaker 1: Let the hungry come and eat, Let the dying come
• 1:43:08
Speaker 1: and live. Salvation abounds, and redemption is sure. And entering
• 1:43:14
Speaker 1: the gate of peace, the empires of this world shall
• 1:43:17
Speaker 1: be to him as dust, its glories as clouds that
• 1:43:20
Speaker 1: are dispersed, its pleasures as chaff that is carried away,
• 1:43:25
Speaker 1: and its pursuits as houses having no foundation. And the
• 1:43:30
Speaker 1: voice of the Holy One shall say unto him, conqueror
• 1:43:33
Speaker 1: of self, slayer of sin and sorrow, disperser of shadows
• 1:43:39
Speaker 1: and delusions, put away the sword of searching, and let
• 1:43:42
Speaker 1: the sort of dividing be sheathed. Here are no sorrows,
• 1:43:47
Speaker 1: Here is no darkness, and affliction and strife and division
• 1:43:51
Speaker 1: cannot enter here. Lowly doer of righteousness, thou hast found
• 1:43:56
Speaker 1: my law. Silent seeker of truth, thou hast found, and
• 1:44:00
Speaker 1: may peace. Lover of meekness and good, thou hast found me.
• 1:44:06
Speaker 1: Take up thy abode in my eternal habitation, Thy warfare
• 1:44:10
Speaker 1: is ended, and thy rest is achieved. The sixth prophecy
• 1:44:17
Speaker 1: called peace the voice of the Spirit to the children
• 1:44:22
Speaker 1: of truth, Rejoice and be glad yea be filled with gladness,
• 1:44:28
Speaker 1: for the great task is completed, and there is no
• 1:44:30
Speaker 1: more labor. The long journey is ended, and there is
• 1:44:34
Speaker 1: no more weariness. The days are numbered, and the Savior
• 1:44:37
Speaker 1: has come. There is peace upon the hills and in
• 1:44:41
Speaker 1: the valleys, a tumult of great joy for the child
• 1:44:44
Speaker 1: who is Love and wisdom is apprehended, and the Kingdom,
• 1:44:48
Speaker 1: which is good will and peace is proclaimed. Sing Ye,
• 1:44:52
Speaker 1: Holy ones, ye pure and peaceful. Let your voices be heard.
• 1:44:58
Speaker 1: Truth is established, and righteous reigneth. There is joy for
• 1:45:02
Speaker 1: every sorrow. There is oil for every wound, and there
• 1:45:06
Speaker 1: is healing for every broken heart. For the weary, there
• 1:45:09
Speaker 1: is a rest that endureth, for the wandering, an eternal refuge,
• 1:45:14
Speaker 1: and for the despairing and tempest tossed a harbor of
• 1:45:17
Speaker 1: great gladness, for there is sinlessness of heart. Out of
• 1:45:22
Speaker 1: the dark places of self, beyond the uncertain valley of
• 1:45:26
Speaker 1: transition is found the peaceful path of holiness, upon the
• 1:45:31
Speaker 1: high peaks of purity, upon the mountains of righteousness. Even
• 1:45:35
Speaker 1: upon the lofty hills of love. There abideth eternal peace.
• 1:45:40
Speaker 1: There awaiteth everlasting rest. Whosoever will climb, Let him come
• 1:45:46
Speaker 1: and see, whosoever will strive, Let him come and know.
• 1:45:52
Speaker 1: Whosoever will overcome, Let him come and enter. In the
• 1:45:56
Speaker 1: darkness is dispersed. The power of evil is to droid,
• 1:46:00
Speaker 1: and the weal of fate is broken. The light abideth
• 1:46:05
Speaker 1: in eternal glory. The power of good is supreme, and
• 1:46:09
Speaker 1: righteousness and love have broken every bond. Death is slain,
• 1:46:14
Speaker 1: for life is known. Doubt is no more, for immortality
• 1:46:17
Speaker 1: is tasted. Fear is cast out, for perfect love is revealed.
• 1:46:23
Speaker 1: The King of Truth is near, and he is perfect Knowledge.
• 1:46:27
Speaker 1: The Lord of Life is at hand, and he is
• 1:46:30
Speaker 1: perfect purity. The Savior is here, and he is perfect Love.
• 1:46:36
Speaker 1: Therefore peace abideth, yea abideth forever. These things are made
• 1:46:42
Speaker 1: known to the righteous, to the wise, their glory is revealed.
• 1:46:46
Speaker 1: And by the guileless alone are these three perfections comprehended.
• 1:46:51
Speaker 1: For he that is unholy knoweth only that which is unholy.
• 1:46:55
Speaker 1: He that is holy knoweth holy things. Perfection cannot be distorted.
• 1:47:00
Speaker 1: Behold its beauty Righteousness cannot be broken. How faultless are
• 1:47:06
Speaker 1: its proportions, Truth remains undisturbed, How incomparable is its calm.
• 1:47:12
Speaker 1: And because of this there is great rejoicing. Because of
• 1:47:16
Speaker 1: this there is holly gladness. Because of this there is
• 1:47:21
Speaker 1: unending peace. End of Part three, Section one Prophecies. Section
• 1:47:30
Speaker 1: two Exhortations. The first exhortation concerning purity, the purity that
• 1:47:39
Speaker 1: is stainless. To this, I exhort men to the purity
• 1:47:43
Speaker 1: of the highest I point the sons of light. I
• 1:47:46
Speaker 1: exhort also the children of error to the excellent way
• 1:47:50
Speaker 1: of purity. For outer purity groweth truth, and they who
• 1:47:54
Speaker 1: seek it seek the heavenly light. Ye who are bound,
• 1:47:58
Speaker 1: come now and be free. Say not I am helpless,
• 1:48:02
Speaker 1: Ye who are enslaved, For the wave of emancipation is
• 1:48:05
Speaker 1: opened up. YEA even salvation knocketh at your door. Will
• 1:48:10
Speaker 1: you choose liberty? Or will ye rather choose to be
• 1:48:14
Speaker 1: bound in purity? There is freedom understanding dwelleth in her temple,
• 1:48:19
Speaker 1: and joy and gladness and peace are her door keepers.
• 1:48:23
Speaker 1: Come then and listen to the exhortation of truth, And
• 1:48:27
Speaker 1: having listen'd, do that which is pure and doing that
• 1:48:31
Speaker 1: which is pure, ye shall know the supreme blessedness. Not
• 1:48:35
Speaker 1: in thy acts alone shalt thou find purity. The purity
• 1:48:39
Speaker 1: of the highest is not confined to acts. Nor by
• 1:48:43
Speaker 1: cutting off thy acts shalt thou become pure, But by
• 1:48:47
Speaker 1: cleansing the source of thy acts, even thy mind and heart.
• 1:48:51
Speaker 1: For a pure mind cannot commit impure acts. Neither can
• 1:48:55
Speaker 1: a stainless heart bring forth any unlovely thing. What then
• 1:49:00
Speaker 1: defileth and what maketh clean? The unchaste thought, the impure desire,
• 1:49:06
Speaker 1: the selfish inclination, This defileth and bringeth forth darkness and death.
• 1:49:12
Speaker 1: The pure thought, the holy aspiration, the unselfish love. This
• 1:49:18
Speaker 1: cleanseth and bringeth forth light and love. Come, then, and
• 1:49:22
Speaker 1: see how straight is the narrow path of purity. Come
• 1:49:26
Speaker 1: and know how open and unsecret are the beautiful courts
• 1:49:29
Speaker 1: of truth. Come and understand how simple is the excellent
• 1:49:33
Speaker 1: law of righteousness, Easy to find and pleasant to walk?
• 1:49:37
Speaker 1: Is the path of purity? Open wide and inviting entrance?
• 1:49:42
Speaker 1: Are the gates of truth? Near at hand and ready
• 1:49:45
Speaker 1: for investigation. Is the law of righteousness. To harbour hateful thoughts,
• 1:49:51
Speaker 1: to cherish lustful inclinations, to nurture the seeds of malice
• 1:49:55
Speaker 1: in the heart. This defileth and leadeth to suffering, to
• 1:50:00
Speaker 1: thirst for pleasures and rewards, to dwell upon the sins
• 1:50:03
Speaker 1: of others, and to think I am better than this man.
• 1:50:08
Speaker 1: This maketh impure and causeth thee to wander from truth,
• 1:50:12
Speaker 1: to seek for thyself and not to consider others, to
• 1:50:15
Speaker 1: depreciate others, and to think highly of thine own works,
• 1:50:19
Speaker 1: and to make proud and stubborn thy heart. This staineth
• 1:50:23
Speaker 1: thy soul and taketh THEE away from thy peace. Behold,
• 1:50:28
Speaker 1: how glorious is the path of purity. How lovely is
• 1:50:32
Speaker 1: the treasury of truth? How comely and beautiful is the
• 1:50:35
Speaker 1: garment of holiness. To be free from hatred, lust and malice.
• 1:50:40
Speaker 1: How sweet, how pleasant? Not to desire pleasures and rewards.
• 1:50:45
Speaker 1: How good, how joyful, not to magnify evil in others?
• 1:50:50
Speaker 1: How fair, how lovely? To put away all egotism, How beautiful,
• 1:50:56
Speaker 1: how peaceful. The blessedness of a pure art is beyond conception,
• 1:51:02
Speaker 1: The loveliness of a sinless mind is beyond comparison. And
• 1:51:06
Speaker 1: supremely blissful is the immortality of the righteous peace, producing
• 1:51:12
Speaker 1: is the purity of the highest joy. Inspiring is the
• 1:51:15
Speaker 1: stainless life, and rich in wisdom is the heart that
• 1:51:19
Speaker 1: is sinless. Ye who are tired of sin, Ye who
• 1:51:23
Speaker 1: know the bitterness of impurity, Ye who seek the everlasting peace,
• 1:51:28
Speaker 1: Come and enter the door of purity, and let holiness
• 1:51:32
Speaker 1: be your companion. Purify your thoughts, wash white the garment
• 1:51:37
Speaker 1: of your mind, cleanse ye the secret places of your heart.
• 1:51:41
Speaker 1: This done, truth shall come and dwell with you. Knowledge
• 1:51:45
Speaker 1: shall be your lamp, and wisdom your guide. Righteousness shall
• 1:51:49
Speaker 1: be your everlasting protection, and light and joy and peace
• 1:51:54
Speaker 1: shall abide with you forever. The second exhortation discerning humility,
• 1:52:02
Speaker 1: the humility that is blameless. To this I exhort men,
• 1:52:06
Speaker 1: I point them to the sublime pathway of humility without humility.
• 1:52:11
Speaker 1: Who shall see truth without meekness? Who shall comprehend thee
• 1:52:15
Speaker 1: all one without lowliness? Who shall find the great reality
• 1:52:21
Speaker 1: Love dwelleth with humility. Wisdom also abideth there, and peace
• 1:52:26
Speaker 1: remaineth with the lowly heart. Put away thy pride, think
• 1:52:30
Speaker 1: no more of thy superiority, and purge thy mind of
• 1:52:33
Speaker 1: all its vanity. Then shall the truth dignify thee Truth
• 1:52:38
Speaker 1: fleeth from pride, Wisdom departeth from egotism, and holiness and
• 1:52:43
Speaker 1: vanity cannot dwell together. Out of humility cometh light, But
• 1:52:48
Speaker 1: darkness dwells with vanity and pride. Of what art thou
• 1:52:52
Speaker 1: proud O, man? Of thy beauty? Corruption awaits it of
• 1:52:58
Speaker 1: thy garments. The more and the dust shall destroy them
• 1:53:02
Speaker 1: of thy possessions. Tomorrow another shall possess them of thy talents.
• 1:53:08
Speaker 1: Their luster shall be dimmed of thy fame. It shall
• 1:53:12
Speaker 1: disappear as a mist of thy learning. Even now it
• 1:53:17
Speaker 1: is surpassed of thy works. They shall vanish away forever.
• 1:53:23
Speaker 1: What then remaineth? If all these things are as naught,
• 1:53:27
Speaker 1: wisdom remaineth, and truth and love, and joy and peace
• 1:53:32
Speaker 1: and enlightenment are established. But these cannot be known to
• 1:53:36
Speaker 1: the proud. Neither can the vain man understand them. And
• 1:53:40
Speaker 1: their glory is not revealed to him that is subject
• 1:53:42
Speaker 1: to self. What can darkness reveal? He who walketh in darkness?
• 1:53:48
Speaker 1: What shall he see? The proud are blinded by darkness.
• 1:53:52
Speaker 1: The vain stumble and lose their way, and grief and
• 1:53:56
Speaker 1: desolation are the end of self. The enlightenment of e
• 1:54:00
Speaker 1: he is more than learning The power of meekness is
• 1:54:03
Speaker 1: more than the strength of many conquerors. And he that
• 1:54:06
Speaker 1: makes slowly his mind establishes himself upon a rock. How
• 1:54:11
Speaker 1: shall the proud stand they fall of their own weakness?
• 1:54:15
Speaker 1: How shall the vain endure? They are as reeds without support?
• 1:54:20
Speaker 1: How shall a self seeking flourish? They are as barren seed,
• 1:54:24
Speaker 1: blown about and finding no soil. Put on the garment
• 1:54:28
Speaker 1: of humility, and thou shalt not fall. Make gentle thy heart,
• 1:54:33
Speaker 1: and thou shalt endure as the mountain. Put away self,
• 1:54:36
Speaker 1: and thy work shall flourish as seed upon good soil.
• 1:54:41
Speaker 1: The arrogant regard themselves as kings, for they are less
• 1:54:44
Speaker 1: than serfs. The meek regards themselves as serfs, for they
• 1:54:49
Speaker 1: are more than kings. How easily are the proud injured?
• 1:54:53
Speaker 1: Every day they suffer pain? How often are the vain wounded?
• 1:54:57
Speaker 1: Weeping and sorrow are their portion? How readily do the
• 1:55:01
Speaker 1: selfish suffer deprivation? Every day they grieve over that they
• 1:55:05
Speaker 1: have lost? There is no pain in humility. Meekness destroyeth sorrow,
• 1:55:11
Speaker 1: and the pure in heart can suffer no loss. What
• 1:55:15
Speaker 1: can a man retain? What endureth? And where dwelleth immortality.
• 1:55:22
Speaker 1: The things of the world pass away and none can
• 1:55:24
Speaker 1: hold them. The body perishes and is no more seen,
• 1:55:28
Speaker 1: and the opinions of men are as smoke in a
• 1:55:31
Speaker 1: high wind. Holiness can be retained. Truth endureth, and immortality dwelleth.
• 1:55:37
Speaker 1: In the sinless heart, I sought the world, but peace
• 1:55:41
Speaker 1: was not there. I courted learning, but truth was not revealed.
• 1:55:46
Speaker 1: I sojourned with philosophy, but my heart was sore with vanity,
• 1:55:51
Speaker 1: and I cried, where is peace to be found? And
• 1:55:55
Speaker 1: where is the hiding place of truth? In humility? I
• 1:55:59
Speaker 1: found peace in a practice of righteousness, truth was revealed,
• 1:56:04
Speaker 1: and in self obliteration, I reach the end of pain
• 1:56:07
Speaker 1: and vanity. Bend low, ye, pilgrims, prostrate yourselves, ye weary
• 1:56:13
Speaker 1: and disconsolate, Give up that ye love, ye stricken and afflicted.
• 1:56:18
Speaker 1: For he that bendeth himself shall be straitened. He that
• 1:56:22
Speaker 1: prostrateeth himself shall be lifted up. And whosoever relinquisheth self
• 1:56:27
Speaker 1: shall see the end of his afflictions. Narrow and low
• 1:56:30
Speaker 1: is the portal of humility. But he that stupeth and
• 1:56:34
Speaker 1: entereth therein shall stand forever. The third exhortation concerning love,
• 1:56:43
Speaker 1: the love that is perfect. To this I exhort men,
• 1:56:47
Speaker 1: even to the love of the Highest. How beautiful to
• 1:56:50
Speaker 1: behold is love? How glorious to contemplate, and in practice,
• 1:56:55
Speaker 1: how sweet and full of gladness? To find love is
• 1:56:59
Speaker 1: defined affection To no love is to know the eternal.
• 1:57:03
Speaker 1: To practice love is to manifest truth. But how is
• 1:57:07
Speaker 1: love found? How is it revealed in the heart? How
• 1:57:11
Speaker 1: is it practiced and made manifest? Not to be a partisan,
• 1:57:15
Speaker 1: not to practice hatred, not to engage in strife, not
• 1:57:19
Speaker 1: to practice deception, not to covet, not to retaliate, not
• 1:57:24
Speaker 1: to condemn. Not To do all these is to find love,
• 1:57:29
Speaker 1: To put away prejudice, to rid the mind of pride
• 1:57:32
Speaker 1: and vanity, to disperse doubt and fear, to wash from
• 1:57:36
Speaker 1: the heart the stains of desire, to purify the mind
• 1:57:39
Speaker 1: of every defilement. To do all these is to know love,
• 1:57:44
Speaker 1: to be always patient, to be supremely calm, to be
• 1:57:48
Speaker 1: ceaselessly holy, to be forgiving to the uttermost, and to
• 1:57:53
Speaker 1: be equal minded towards enemies as towards friends. To be
• 1:57:57
Speaker 1: all these is to manifest love. Where love is light
• 1:58:01
Speaker 1: is where love is not, there is impenetrable darkness. Where
• 1:58:06
Speaker 1: love is, life is. Where love is not, there is
• 1:58:10
Speaker 1: the deeper death. Where love is truth is. Where love
• 1:58:14
Speaker 1: is not, there is error and confusion. Love changes not.
• 1:58:19
Speaker 1: For love is truth, Love sins not, for love is perfect.
• 1:58:23
Speaker 1: Love grieves not for love is the eternal. Love is
• 1:58:27
Speaker 1: not subject to birth and death, for love is immortality.
• 1:58:32
Speaker 1: How illusory is the world? How fleeting and empty are
• 1:58:36
Speaker 1: the pleasures of the world. How real is love? How
• 1:58:40
Speaker 1: steadfast and full of peace is the life of truth?
• 1:58:44
Speaker 1: How vain are the pursuits of men? How heavy is
• 1:58:47
Speaker 1: the weariness of self? But the practice of righteousness is fruitful,
• 1:58:52
Speaker 1: and sweet is the peace of truth. He who hath
• 1:58:55
Speaker 1: love hath all things. The Master dwelleth in love. In love,
• 1:59:00
Speaker 1: the great reality abides, and the wonderful peace is only
• 1:59:04
Speaker 1: found by love. The purity of the highest is there
• 1:59:08
Speaker 1: the majesty of humility also, And he who ad just
• 1:59:12
Speaker 1: his heart to love is perfect. Seek self, and love
• 1:59:17
Speaker 1: shall be withheld from you. Seek love and lo it
• 1:59:21
Speaker 1: is already with you. Who seeketh enlightenment, who seeketh truth,
• 1:59:26
Speaker 1: who seeketh love? Let him that seeketh come and say,
• 1:59:31
Speaker 1: open ye doores a purity be closed no more, Ye,
• 1:59:36
Speaker 1: narrow portals of humility swing open wide, Ye, everlasting gaits
• 1:59:41
Speaker 1: of love, and his voice shall be heard in the
• 1:59:44
Speaker 1: innermost places. He shall not cry in vain, nor shall
• 1:59:48
Speaker 1: he lose his way, but shall pass through to his
• 1:59:51
Speaker 1: everlasting rest. End of Part three, Section two Exhortations. Section
• 2:00:00
Speaker 1: three Instructions. Instruction concerning the Master to the obedient and
• 2:00:09
Speaker 1: the ready, to all who are willing to understand, To
• 2:00:12
Speaker 1: those wandering in the darkness and unable to perceive the light,
• 2:00:16
Speaker 1: come now and listen, Come now and be made glad.
• 2:00:21
Speaker 1: Enter now into the revelation of purity. The Master is
• 2:00:24
Speaker 1: not perceived by the senses, nor comprehended by the reason,
• 2:00:28
Speaker 1: nor realized by argument. Not on the hills, nor in
• 2:00:32
Speaker 1: the valleys, not in the earth nor sky, not in
• 2:00:36
Speaker 1: any outward thing is the Master to be found. Creeds
• 2:00:40
Speaker 1: and schools and books cannot contain him. He dwelleth within.
• 2:00:46
Speaker 1: Cease from thine outward search, a weary one, Cease from
• 2:00:50
Speaker 1: no wanderings, O child of night. In thine own heart,
• 2:00:54
Speaker 1: dwelleth the Master. He is not hidden from thee but
• 2:00:57
Speaker 1: by thyself. The Master is the inn ward voice, the
• 2:01:01
Speaker 1: inward light, the inward peace. Behold, I show you the
• 2:01:05
Speaker 1: dwelling place of the Master. It is a purified heart.
• 2:01:09
Speaker 1: He who hath broken the bonds of self, who hath
• 2:01:12
Speaker 1: slain desire, whose mind is quiet, conquered and subdued, whose
• 2:01:17
Speaker 1: heart is calm and mild and full of peace, He
• 2:01:21
Speaker 1: hath entered into the presence of the Master. Unto him,
• 2:01:24
Speaker 1: the glory of the Master is revealed. O thou who
• 2:01:28
Speaker 1: christ and receivest no answer, O thou who wanderest and
• 2:01:33
Speaker 1: findest no rest, O thou who searchest and findest no light,
• 2:01:38
Speaker 1: Bring hither thy fainting heart, Bring hither thy blindness. Come
• 2:01:43
Speaker 1: and listen to the instruction that is holy, and having listened,
• 2:01:47
Speaker 1: find satisfaction and rest. There are truths many, and there
• 2:01:52
Speaker 1: is one truth, even the pure mind, the supremely perfect life.
• 2:01:57
Speaker 1: There are saviors many, and there is one savior, even
• 2:02:01
Speaker 1: the supreme enlightenment of wisdom. There are teachers many, and
• 2:02:06
Speaker 1: there is one teacher, even the glorious revelation of righteousness.
• 2:02:10
Speaker 1: There are masters many, and there is one master. Even
• 2:02:14
Speaker 1: the Spirit of truth and truth Savior, Teacher and Master
• 2:02:19
Speaker 1: are one, plain and unmistakable is the way which leadeth
• 2:02:23
Speaker 1: to the Master. Overcome thyself. This is the way. Purify
• 2:02:28
Speaker 1: thy heart, and thou shalt gaze upon the face of
• 2:02:31
Speaker 1: the Master, cling to self, and thou shalt not find him.
• 2:02:36
Speaker 1: Abandon self and lo the Master abideth with thee. The
• 2:02:42
Speaker 1: impure have no eyes to see the pure. The darkness
• 2:02:46
Speaker 1: cannot penetrate the light, and immortality is hidden from that
• 2:02:49
Speaker 1: which is perishable. Therefore, leave that to which thou clingest
• 2:02:54
Speaker 1: yield up thy desires, and the satisfaction of the Master
• 2:02:58
Speaker 1: shall fill thee up thy opinions, and the light of
• 2:03:02
Speaker 1: the Master shall illumine. Thee. Go not after thee evanescent
• 2:03:06
Speaker 1: and the perishable, and thou shalt enter into the possession
• 2:03:09
Speaker 1: of the eternal and imperishable. Thou shalt become one with
• 2:03:13
Speaker 1: the Master, and shalt dwell with him in immortality. The
• 2:03:17
Speaker 1: Master waiteth yea eternally waiteth Patience is his name. He
• 2:03:23
Speaker 1: departeth not from compassion, and where righteousness abides there dwelleth
• 2:03:28
Speaker 1: he hidden? Is he in love? Come unto love, and
• 2:03:32
Speaker 1: thou shalt find him. The light of wisdom envelopeth him.
• 2:03:37
Speaker 1: Purify thine understanding and thou shalt know him. The glory
• 2:03:41
Speaker 1: of truth covereth him up relinq we self, and thou
• 2:03:45
Speaker 1: shalt see his form. Why perceivest thou not the truth?
• 2:03:50
Speaker 1: Why hearest thou not the voice of the Master. Thou
• 2:03:53
Speaker 1: perceivest not the truth because of thine own errors. Thou
• 2:03:57
Speaker 1: hearest not the Master's voice, because of voices of self
• 2:04:00
Speaker 1: clamor loudly within thee. As clouds hide the face of

Speaker 1: the sun, so the clouds of error hide the face
• 2:04:07
Speaker 1: of the Master. Yea, the thick clouds of sin. They
• 2:04:11
Speaker 1: shut him out from men, who then shall see the Master,
• 2:04:16
Speaker 1: who shall comprehend him, who shall dwell with him, who
• 2:04:20
Speaker 1: shall hear his voice, Even he who is of a
• 2:04:24
Speaker 1: pure heart, who is gentle, compassionate, and infinitely patient, who
• 2:04:29
Speaker 1: returneth meekness for anger, love for hatred, forgiveness for abuse,
• 2:04:35
Speaker 1: and silence for condemnation. Clothe thyself. Therefore, in the garment
• 2:04:39
Speaker 1: of humility, acknowledge thine errors, even thine inmost sins. Thus
• 2:04:45
Speaker 1: confessing thyself, thou shalt find the way of love, and
• 2:04:49
Speaker 1: finding love, thou shalt find the Master, and finding the Master,
• 2:04:54
Speaker 1: thou shalt be at rest deny thyself, subdue thyself, conquer thyself.
• 2:05:01
Speaker 1: Let not good will depart from thee. Be at peace
• 2:05:05
Speaker 1: withal yea, even with the beasts. So shall the highest
• 2:05:09
Speaker 1: Truth take up its abode within thee. Unto thee, the
• 2:05:12
Speaker 1: heart of the Master shall be revealed. Sorrow and suffering,
• 2:05:16
Speaker 1: and fear and doubt shall flee far from thee, and
• 2:05:20
Speaker 1: the knowledge of immortality shall fill thy heart with peace.
• 2:05:24
Speaker 1: Thus is the heart of the Master made known. Thus
• 2:05:28
Speaker 1: is he revealed unto them that are ready to receive him.
• 2:05:34
Speaker 1: Instruction concerning the Law to the humble and the faithful,
• 2:05:39
Speaker 1: to them that are seeking humility and faith. There is
• 2:05:42
Speaker 1: one supreme law, even the law of good. Think not
• 2:05:46
Speaker 1: that which is evil, Say not that which is evil.
• 2:05:50
Speaker 1: Do not that which is evil, Think that which is good,
• 2:05:54
Speaker 1: Say that which is good, Do that which is good.
• 2:05:58
Speaker 1: So shalt thou come to know the law. By no
• 2:06:02
Speaker 1: other way can it be comprehended. The knowledge of the
• 2:06:05
Speaker 1: Law maketh the heart glad, It filleth the mind with joy.
• 2:06:09
Speaker 1: It destroyeth all sorrow, suffering ceases. For him who knows
• 2:06:13
Speaker 1: the law, sin and grief and affliction leave him, And
• 2:06:17
Speaker 1: wheresoever he goes, peace follows him. Happy is he who
• 2:06:21
Speaker 1: has perceived the law. Blessed is he who practices it.
• 2:06:26
Speaker 1: Divine is he who has become one with it. Come
• 2:06:29
Speaker 1: thou that searchest weary and almost hopeless, prostrate thyself in
• 2:06:34
Speaker 1: the dust of obedience. Deny thyself to the uttermost, leave
• 2:06:39
Speaker 1: all that thou art proud of yea sacrifice. All. So
• 2:06:44
Speaker 1: shalt thou put on the yoke of loneliness, and shalt
• 2:06:47
Speaker 1: thou enter into a knowledge of the law. Then shalt
• 2:06:50
Speaker 1: thou come to know the three names of the Law
• 2:06:53
Speaker 1: of good. The first is justice, the second righteousness, the
• 2:06:59
Speaker 1: third love men, loving self. Deny these lofty names, and,
• 2:07:05
Speaker 1: having no knowledge of the law of good, wandering in
• 2:07:07
Speaker 1: the dark, they fall into treacherous places, and fear and
• 2:07:12
Speaker 1: doubt and sorrow and suffering dwell with them. Practice the
• 2:07:16
Speaker 1: inward righteousness, and thou shalt see the ineffable glory of
• 2:07:19
Speaker 1: the three names. Thou shalt comprehend the law of good,
• 2:07:24
Speaker 1: and bliss and peace shall fill thee. To know the law,
• 2:07:28
Speaker 1: to obey the law, to practice the law. This only
• 2:07:32
Speaker 1: is salvation. This only is emancipation from error and unrest.
• 2:07:37
Speaker 1: Supremely glorious is the law of good. Supremely peacegiving is
• 2:07:41
Speaker 1: the knowledge of the law. Supremely blessed is he whose
• 2:07:45
Speaker 1: pilgrim feet walk in obedience with the law. He who says,
• 2:07:50
Speaker 1: I will no more cling to self, I will no
• 2:07:53
Speaker 1: more engage in strife, I will no more retaliate, I
• 2:07:57
Speaker 1: will no more judge and condemn too. I have clung
• 2:08:01
Speaker 1: to self, I have sought to gratify self. I have
• 2:08:04
Speaker 1: defended and protected myself. But now I will abandon self.
• 2:08:09
Speaker 1: I will sacrifice and not defend myself. Yea utmost crucifixion
• 2:08:14
Speaker 1: shall be mine. I will love all men and only myself.
• 2:08:19
Speaker 1: Will I condemn. The garment of humility shall cover me.
• 2:08:23
Speaker 1: Righteousness and love shall be my protection. Even in the
• 2:08:26
Speaker 1: highest will I take my refuge. Good will shall be
• 2:08:30
Speaker 1: my guide, Compassion shall not depart from me, and the
• 2:08:34
Speaker 1: divine gentleness of truth shall guide my thoughts and actions.
• 2:08:38
Speaker 1: Thus will I cease from sin? Thus will I practice
• 2:08:42
Speaker 1: the highest good. He who thus resolves shall know the law.
• 2:08:46
Speaker 1: The law of good. Shall he comprehend, the fullness of
• 2:08:50
Speaker 1: its majesty shall be revealed to him, And from all
• 2:08:53
Speaker 1: evil shall he be protected. Therefore, let a man believe
• 2:08:57
Speaker 1: in good. Let him cling to good, Let him practice good.
• 2:09:02
Speaker 1: He will thus come to comprehend himself. Comprehending himself, he
• 2:09:06
Speaker 1: will comprehend the universe. He will thus arrive at peace.
• 2:09:10
Speaker 1: When a man's body is defiled, does he not wash
• 2:09:13
Speaker 1: it and make it clean? When a man's heart is defiled,
• 2:09:17
Speaker 1: Let him likewise wash it and be clean. Five are
• 2:09:21
Speaker 1: the waters which wash away sin, Purity which washes away
• 2:09:25
Speaker 1: all indulgences and lusts, Pity which washes away all self seeking,
• 2:09:31
Speaker 1: an indifference, humility which washes away all prejudice and pride,
• 2:09:37
Speaker 1: Joy which washes away all covetousness and envy, Love which
• 2:09:42
Speaker 1: washes away all hatred and condemnation. Whosoever will let him
• 2:09:47
Speaker 1: come and be clean, the waters are ready and waiting.
• 2:09:51
Speaker 1: Blessed he is who is free from sin. He knows
• 2:09:55
Speaker 1: the supreme law of good and dwells in peace. Thus
• 2:10:00
Speaker 1: the law of good expounded. Thus is its spread abroad
• 2:10:04
Speaker 1: in the hearts of men. Instruction concerning the Great Reality
• 2:10:12
Speaker 1: to the awakened and enlightened, to those who seek to
• 2:10:15
Speaker 1: be awakened and enlightened. There is darkness, and there is light.
• 2:10:20
Speaker 1: There is dreaming, and there is waking. There is illusion,
• 2:10:23
Speaker 1: and there is reality. The darkness apprehendeth not the light.
• 2:10:27
Speaker 1: The dreamer knoweth not his waking mind, and the wanderer
• 2:10:31
Speaker 1: in illusion is unacquainted with reality. Of two ways, therefore
• 2:10:36
Speaker 1: one must be abandoned. The dweller in darkness seeth nothing,
• 2:10:40
Speaker 1: not even himself. His feet stumble. He knoweth not his way.
• 2:10:45
Speaker 1: Abandon darkness, and thou shalt come unto the light. Coming
• 2:10:50
Speaker 1: to the light, thou shalt see all things. Thou shalt
• 2:10:53
Speaker 1: know thy way, and thy feet shall cease from stumbling.
• 2:10:57
Speaker 1: The way of the dreamer is uncertain, and pleasure and
• 2:11:01
Speaker 1: terror afflict him. He knoweth not where he standeth. He
• 2:11:05
Speaker 1: controlleth not himself. And is it the mercy of the unreal?
• 2:11:10
Speaker 1: Abandon the dreams of self. O, thou that sleepest awake,
• 2:11:15
Speaker 1: Open thine eyes to the morning, and thou shalt comprehend
• 2:11:18
Speaker 1: thine own divinity. The walker in the way of illusion
• 2:11:21
Speaker 1: is surrounded with shadows. He receiveth not the substance. Grasping
• 2:11:27
Speaker 1: at bubbles, he is scourged with grief and disappointment. Clinging
• 2:11:31
Speaker 1: to the perishable, he mourns, and following after that which vanishes,
• 2:11:36
Speaker 1: he is troubled with unrest. Abandon the pathway of illusion,
• 2:11:41
Speaker 1: the pathway of thy perishable self. So shalt thou find
• 2:11:45
Speaker 1: the imperishable truth. Gladness shall take the place of mourning,
• 2:11:50
Speaker 1: and thine eyes shall be opened to the glory of
• 2:11:52
Speaker 1: the Great Reality. What then, is the great Reality? For
• 2:11:58
Speaker 1: great reality is a stainless heart and enlightened understanding, a
• 2:12:03
Speaker 1: soul whose perfect grace is not disturbed by the practice
• 2:12:07
Speaker 1: of righteousness. Only can the Great Reality be known. He
• 2:12:11
Speaker 1: alone can perceive it. Who controls himself. He alone can
• 2:12:15
Speaker 1: enter it. Who purifies himself. He alone can abide therein,
• 2:12:20
Speaker 1: who is free from all sin. In the Great Reality,
• 2:12:24
Speaker 1: all religions and philosophies culminate. They meet here and then
• 2:12:29
Speaker 1: vanish away. For there is no division in the Great Reality.
• 2:12:33
Speaker 1: Strife and unrest cannot enter there, and he who comes
• 2:12:36
Speaker 1: to it is filled with peace. Thou who wouldst understand
• 2:12:40
Speaker 1: the Great Reality, Thou who wouldst enter it and know
• 2:12:44
Speaker 1: its peace? Seek the one behind the many, Seek the
• 2:12:48
Speaker 1: silence behind the noise, Seek truth behind self. Seek for
• 2:12:53
Speaker 1: that which is holy and peace giving, which abides and
• 2:12:57
Speaker 1: does not pass away Like the morning dew wisdom abides,
• 2:13:02
Speaker 1: love abides, compassion abides, Truth abides. Therefore, sacrifice self for self,
• 2:13:12
Speaker 1: and all things of self are perishable, they belong to
• 2:13:15
Speaker 1: the unreal. Awake, Then, out of thy dreaming, disperse all
• 2:13:20
Speaker 1: thy shadows, destroy all thine illusions, and thou shalt enter
• 2:13:25
Speaker 1: the Great Reality, filled with peace. Thou shalt dwell with
• 2:13:30
Speaker 1: the eternal harmonies, filled with bliss. Thou shalt sing the
• 2:13:34
Speaker 1: everlasting song, the song which thrills the spaces and the
• 2:13:38
Speaker 1: world's thy song and mind. Thus shalt thou sing. I
• 2:13:43
Speaker 1: have made the acquaintance of the Master of compassion. I
• 2:13:47
Speaker 1: have put on the garment of the perfect Law. I
• 2:13:49
Speaker 1: have entered the realm of the Great Reality. Wandering is ended,
• 2:13:54
Speaker 1: for rest is accomplished. Pain and sorrow have ceased, for
• 2:13:58
Speaker 1: peace is entered into. Confusion is dissolved, for unity is
• 2:14:03
Speaker 1: made manifest. Error is vanquished, for truth is revealed. Blessed
• 2:14:09
Speaker 1: is he who is resolved to abandon self. Blessed is
• 2:14:12
Speaker 1: he who is pure. Blessed is he who has destroyed
• 2:14:16
Speaker 1: all his illusions. He has found the Great Reality. At last,
• 2:14:21
Speaker 1: the universe is glad, for again the Master is revealed.
• 2:14:25
Speaker 1: The universe is glad for again the law of good
• 2:14:28
Speaker 1: is expounded, the universe is glad for again the great
• 2:14:33
Speaker 1: reality is comprehended. End of Part three, Section three Instructions.
• 2:14:42
Speaker 1: Section four. Discourse concerning the way of truth one self restraint.
• 2:14:50
Speaker 1: What is truth? It resides in the silence of perfect deeds.
• 2:14:56
Speaker 1: That silence is sufficient for the wise. I therefore discourse
• 2:15:00
Speaker 1: not upon truth. I discourse upon the way which leads thither.
• 2:15:05
Speaker 1: For truth is not of words, but of life. And
• 2:15:08
Speaker 1: though truth govern the tongue, its seat is not there.
• 2:15:11
Speaker 1: Its seat is in the heart. What words shall add
• 2:15:15
Speaker 1: beauty to the ineffable, and what man shall glorify truth?
• 2:15:20
Speaker 1: Let the ineffable give beauty to words, and it man
• 2:15:23
Speaker 1: be glorified by truth. I therefore point the way which
• 2:15:27
Speaker 1: leads to truth. Not by speculation do I point the way,
• 2:15:31
Speaker 1: but by practice and attainment. The way is named self conquest.
• 2:15:37
Speaker 1: I write for believers, for them that believe that self
• 2:15:41
Speaker 1: can be overcome. I write not for them that deny
• 2:15:44
Speaker 1: that self can be overcome, and who thus exalt and
• 2:15:48
Speaker 1: give dominion to self. He who believes will walk the
• 2:15:52
Speaker 1: Holy way, and walking it will reach the highest truth.
• 2:15:57
Speaker 1: Let him who thus believes equip himself helmeted with faith,
• 2:16:01
Speaker 1: armored with patience, and armed with a sharp sword of resolution,
• 2:16:06
Speaker 1: he will be prepared to attack the enemies of truth
• 2:16:09
Speaker 1: within himself. He will enter upon the practices of truth.
• 2:16:13
Speaker 1: By practice, the artisan becomes accomplished in his craft. By practice,
• 2:16:18
Speaker 1: the truth lover becomes accomplished in truth. The way of
• 2:16:22
Speaker 1: truth is marked by three great practices. The first is
• 2:16:27
Speaker 1: self restraint, the second self examination, the third self surrender.
• 2:16:34
Speaker 1: These three include all others. He who refuses to practice
• 2:16:38
Speaker 1: self restraint, who says in his heart, I will eat
• 2:16:42
Speaker 1: and drink, and make me garlands of pleasure, he cannot
• 2:16:45
Speaker 1: find the way which leads to peace. But he who
• 2:16:48
Speaker 1: says within himself, I will dwell with abstinence. I will
• 2:16:52
Speaker 1: make my abode with chastity. Integrity shall be my companion,
• 2:16:57
Speaker 1: and faith shall light up my darkness. Yea, virtue shall
• 2:17:00
Speaker 1: be my refuge and my stay. He will find the
• 2:17:04
Speaker 1: way which leads to truth. Lo, he hath already found it,
• 2:17:08
Speaker 1: For the practice of virtue is the entrance to the way.
• 2:17:11
Speaker 1: The vicious man destroys, but the virtuous man builds. He
• 2:17:16
Speaker 1: slays himself, who thinks only of his own pleasure, he
• 2:17:19
Speaker 1: preserves himself. Who controls himself, He who renounces pleasure and
• 2:17:24
Speaker 1: restrains his passions, preferring steadfastness and integrity to gratification, will
• 2:17:30
Speaker 1: partake of the joys of virtue. Pleasant will be his friendships,
• 2:17:34
Speaker 1: pure his affections, and long and prosperous his days. Thus
• 2:17:39
Speaker 1: walking with virtue, happiness will wait upon him. Partial blessedness
• 2:17:44
Speaker 1: will be his portion, and he will reach the first
• 2:17:47
Speaker 1: great resting place. Yet staying there he will not reach
• 2:17:52
Speaker 1: the highest two. Self examination. He who seeks the highest
• 2:17:59
Speaker 1: will end upon the practice of self examination. Searching the
• 2:18:03
Speaker 1: inmost recesses of his heart, following up the intricate threads
• 2:18:08
Speaker 1: of thought, rigorously testing the quality of his motives, he
• 2:18:12
Speaker 1: will find out the hidden springs of desire. He will
• 2:18:15
Speaker 1: lay bare the roots of the tree of life, and
• 2:18:18
Speaker 1: finding the eternal cause, he will know both good and evil.
• 2:18:23
Speaker 1: He will see the highest and will no more perish.
• 2:18:26
Speaker 1: As a beautiful flower is formed, its growth not being seen,
• 2:18:31
Speaker 1: so would he grow in wisdom unseen of men. Yet,
• 2:18:35
Speaker 1: when wisdom is fully formed, when the flower of truth
• 2:18:38
Speaker 1: becomes manifest in all its beauty, men unacquainted with its
• 2:18:42
Speaker 1: silent growth, will say, this man is wise, whence obtained
• 2:18:46
Speaker 1: he his wisdom? How knoweth this man letters, having never
• 2:18:50
Speaker 1: learned as a child in the womb, as a plant
• 2:18:54
Speaker 1: in the earth, as an object in the eye of
• 2:18:57
Speaker 1: the approaching traveler. So wisdom is formed in the heart.
• 2:19:01
Speaker 1: So knowledge grows in him who diligently examines himself, who,
• 2:19:05
Speaker 1: having found the roots of evil, tears them up with
• 2:19:08
Speaker 1: the hands of renunciation, and burns them to ashes in
• 2:19:12
Speaker 1: the fire of knowledge. He who thus examines himself, who
• 2:19:16
Speaker 1: rectifies his inmost heart, and rejects all the errors of
• 2:19:21
Speaker 1: his mind, who, seeking out and humbly acknowledging his own faults,
• 2:19:26
Speaker 1: refusing to dwell upon the faults of others, will make
• 2:19:29
Speaker 1: swift progress toward the goal of peace. He will cleanse
• 2:19:33
Speaker 1: his heart, He will purify his understanding, subduing self. He
• 2:19:39
Speaker 1: will no longer look through the eye of self, apprehending truth.
• 2:19:43
Speaker 1: He will perceive with the unveiled eye of truth. He
• 2:19:46
Speaker 1: will know both self and truth. All his works will prosper,
• 2:19:51
Speaker 1: for his acts will be righteous, His tongue will speak wisdom,
• 2:19:55
Speaker 1: for his heart will be pure, And where his feet
• 2:19:58
Speaker 1: of trodden, the flower of love and peace will grow.
• 2:20:02
Speaker 1: He will refuse to dwell with unrighteousness, folly, and impurity.
• 2:20:06
Speaker 1: He will reject, and he will say, under strife and hatred,
• 2:20:10
Speaker 1: depart ye from me, kindling the fire of inward knowledge,
• 2:20:14
Speaker 1: keeping bright and constant its flame, and feeding it with
• 2:20:18
Speaker 1: patient and loving sacrifice. Let a man burn up all
• 2:20:22
Speaker 1: that is perishable within him. Only, thus will he find
• 2:20:25
Speaker 1: the imperishable. Let him eliminate the dross of error. Only,
• 2:20:30
Speaker 1: thus will he discover the gold of truth. Let him
• 2:20:33
Speaker 1: destroy all sin. Only, Thus will he find the stainless one. Only,
• 2:20:39
Speaker 1: thus will he approach the highest. Thus, seeking out the
• 2:20:43
Speaker 1: source within himself, passion will not long torment him. Finding
• 2:20:48
Speaker 1: the cause of passion, he will destroy it, and self
• 2:20:52
Speaker 1: restraint will give way to composure of mind and heart.
• 2:20:56
Speaker 1: Far will he travel on the way of peace, and
• 2:20:59
Speaker 1: reaching the seat and resting place, will taste of fuller
• 2:21:02
Speaker 1: joy and blessedness. Yet staying there he will not reach
• 2:21:07
Speaker 1: the highest. Three self surrender, Having well restrained himself, having
• 2:21:17
Speaker 1: deeply examined himself, Let the lover of truth now enter
• 2:21:20
Speaker 1: upon the practice of self surrender. He who practices self
• 2:21:25
Speaker 1: restraint travels well. He who practices self examination travels better.
• 2:21:31
Speaker 1: He who practices self surrender travels best. He only can
• 2:21:36
Speaker 1: know the highest, who surrenders self, who makes the inward
• 2:21:39
Speaker 1: sacrifice complete, who holds nothing back, who calls nothing his own,
• 2:21:45
Speaker 1: who refuses to set his heart upon any earthly thing,
• 2:21:49
Speaker 1: putting aside all his lusts, empty himself of all his vanities,
• 2:21:54
Speaker 1: divesting himself of all his theories and opinions, he will
• 2:21:57
Speaker 1: become empty, naked, and will without possessions. And having become empty,
• 2:22:03
Speaker 1: he will be filled with truth. Having become naked, he
• 2:22:06
Speaker 1: will be clothed with righteousness, Possessing nothing, He will be
• 2:22:11
Speaker 1: lord of all. When self surrender is practiced in its completeness,
• 2:22:16
Speaker 1: then is the highest reached. Then is truth comprehended. Then
• 2:22:21
Speaker 1: is perfect peace enjoyed. He who has conquered himself can
• 2:22:25
Speaker 1: never be brought low. He who has surrendered himself can
• 2:22:29
Speaker 1: never be confounded. He who has overcome the world can
• 2:22:33
Speaker 1: never be disturbed. The flames of lust will not burn him,
• 2:22:37
Speaker 1: for he has quenched them. Temptation will no more scourge him,
• 2:22:41
Speaker 1: for he has destroyed the cause of temptation. Restraint will
• 2:22:46
Speaker 1: no more be needed, for he will be perfect in truth,
• 2:22:50
Speaker 1: freed from self. He will be freed from sorrow, freed
• 2:22:54
Speaker 1: from error, he will no more grieve. Freed from impurity,
• 2:22:59
Speaker 1: he will cease from suffering. He will enter into the
• 2:23:02
Speaker 1: highest joy, and, reaching the final resting place, will partake
• 2:23:07
Speaker 1: of perfect bliss and blessedness, not valuing that which perishes.
• 2:23:12
Speaker 1: He can never be robbed, not loving himself, he can
• 2:23:16
Speaker 1: never be wounded. And though men should slay him, he
• 2:23:19
Speaker 1: can never be destroyed, for he is no longer self
• 2:23:23
