Transcript
- Vanessa: Listen, this week has been busy. So Wednesday came and went. And you know what? Episode 11 was meant to come out a few days later. That's just what it's been. But I appreciate the patience. But I have been up to my busy little life. And that's why if you follow me on Instagram, you would know that I have moved. I did a huge move this summer. And I honestly spontaneously moved. And then come fall, I was ready to make another decision and choice. And I honestly debated if moving back to my hometown was right for me or not. But I've had an epiphany about decision making because I used to suffer from something called decision-making paralysis. And I'm sure someone listening can relate. Where I always tried to find perfection in a decision that I was having to make. And then that would make me freeze because I didn't want it to be imperfect. I didn't want it to be the wrong or bad decision. So I just simply did not make one. And then spent many years in a state of inaction, living an unaligned life. And my intuition and channeled messages relating to decisions really. Go as follows. There is no such thing as a wrong decision. There's not even really such a thing as a good decision. There's really just the next decision. Whether you make a bad decision, whatever is deemed a bad decision, you are going to learn a lesson that you need. It is vital for you to take and move forward in your dream life with that under your belt. Or you're gonna make a great decision that propels you even further into your journey, elevating you to a next step. But you won't know or you won't be able to move forward until you make any decision. And honestly, moving back home was a decision that made me feel like I don't know if this is right or not. And there's so many reasons why it felt right to come back. And there's so many reasons why it felt right to stay. But regardless of what I've chosen, this is just the next step of a journey. And I feel like once we can embrace that aspect, it becomes neutral with how we make decisions. Before we get into that deep little conversation, my name's Vanessa and this is the Mystic Within Podcast, a podcast designed for women reconnecting with their power, their purpose, and their intuition, one honest conversation at a time. Let's get into a conversation about decisions and trusting the process of our lives. Now, today's episode's gonna be just a little conversation because again, your girl is adjusting to a new life that I've decided for myself in the next step of my journey. I feel like I've been having so many intuitions about decision making, not only because I've been making a lot of decisions, but because I always struggled with that aspect of adulthood, making decisions, moving forward, always finding the need to be perfect until really I had the epiphany that decisions don't need to be perfect. It's actually never going to be perfect. It's just how you deal with the next step of life. As long as you're moving forward, aka making a decision, any decision, you will make the best of it. And not only will you make the best of it, but you will be able to trust yourself moving forward with anything you do. Say you make a great decision. That's easy to trust. It's easy. To know, okay, I've made a great decision. I made a good decision for myself, whatever we deem as a good decision, something that is aligned or beneficial to us. that provides the power to propel us forward and to kind of create that domino effect of this feels right. This looks right to me. This is a life that I'm building through these great decisions I'm making. But what happens when we make what we deem a wrong decision? Or we take the wrong turn, or something that we maybe see as a bad decision for ourselves. I think this is a feeling that kept me in paralysis for so long because I was always looking for what will be the perfect puzzle piece decision But that's not how stories go. The character doesn't always make the best choices, and most likely they're not making any good choices. That is the story of your life. That is a journey. The journey has the mountains to climb, right? Wrong decisions are always going to give you perspective. They're always going to give you a chance to learn a lesson that a good decision would have never taught you. And I feel like making wrong decisions is part of being human and shaping your experience. I think I spent a lot of time also looming over my wrong decisions, my bad choices. And feeling like feeling a shame spiral over them the purpose of a wrong decision and making one and experiencing it and seeing the other side of it is to teach a lesson of some kind. It is the chance to rise up once more. It depends obviously how wrong the decision was, but I always see both a good decision and a wrong decision as leading you to a rich and full life. It is human. And at the end of the day, that is what I am about. The human experience is normal. And I don't like any shame involved in any part of it. I think shame is a very humbling human emotion. And the only way out of it is through reflection and grace for yourself. I keep getting this vision throughout the last few days and few weeks where I'm seeing two choices and I'm seeing two roads. And the first choice is pure stability. You know that you're gonna get what you want out of it. You know that, you know, it might be a little boring, but it's gonna be stable. It's the path that is ventured by most. It is something that doesn't spark much. excitement, but you know it's going to be a foundation for you. And the next road has a huge question mark at the end. And you have no idea what is about to come, but something in you feels the light radiating from that path. And I just feel like I'm in a state of mind in a stage of life where I want that. I want to go on that journey of making decisions that. invoke that feeling. It sparks something deep in my chest. It sparks something exciting and unknown. And I think as I keep choosing those decisions and paths that invoke that within me, I start to trust myself way more. Because what I'm proving is I can take on the unknown. I am totally and fully capable of walking the unknown path and making something for myself out of it. I'm proving something to myself in that moment, in those decisions. And I feel like that is the takeaway from this episode. If you are in decision paralysis, I need you to take a step back. And I need you to understand that decisions are neutral. And decisions are something that feel very heavy on us. And we weigh back and forth what is best. And The reality is you just need to choose something. You need to choose the path that's going to bring you the most joy or the most happiness. And if you choose wrong, I'm putting quotes around wrong every time I say it, just the people who are only audio. It's not a big deal because you trust yourself. And if you're saying to yourself, no, I don't, then this is the way to prove it. Make a decision and see how life unfolds. Because the longer you wait on making a decision, the less life can happen for you. You're just staying in a cycle that's holding you back from getting everything you want. Because if you have an end goal and a dream life and you can envision it, I promise both of those decisions are going to get you there. The reason you're choosing or going to choose one of them is because it's the route there. Even if you deem it. Wrong, Because you need that lesson to move you to that dream life. What if you need to go through that bad decision, wrong decision, whatever the consequence of that is, so you can know something further on in your journey? Well, I went through this, that's how I know this now. Things don't always make sense as we're living them. They make sense when we have perspective from the future. How many times have we said, I wish I would have known that? Well, now you do know it. So next time you encounter it, you're going to be able to hold it and understand it and adapt in a way that actually makes sense with your knowledge. That was the lesson. Now you have this and you can move forward. I think another point of decision making is all about seeing a bigger picture. And I've described this again as life is not really a puzzle in my eyes, because puzzles have perfect fits and perfect pieces, and life is anything but perfect. Life is not a puzzle, so decisions that you're making are not puzzle pieces like sliding into place. It's really more of a mosaic or a painting. And with a painting, things take time. Things take time to mix the colors and to find the shadow in the painting and the light in the painting. And then sometimes the painting does not make sense until the very end. And you're like, my gosh, that's why you put the little dark splotch here. That's why you needed the fine line here. And if you don't like a color, you can change it. If you don't like the whole painting, you can paint over it. I feel like the adaptability of decisions is underrated. Even if there's a decision that was made that feels like everything is different now, there is purpose in that. And it's because we again are learning a lesson. We're moving forward in life in a different way. We're becoming a new person in those moments. And we're having a full human experience. So if you've made a mistake you feel and you have regrets about a decision you made. This is when you need to show yourself grace because you didn't know any better. You did the best you can with the knowledge you had, with the courage you had, with the experience you had thus far. And if you knew what you knew now, you might make a different decision. But what you can do moving forward is use that as a catalyst to make more aligned decisions for yourself. And I don't like to use the word. Better decisions because again, I see decisions as neutral. And I feel like if we do look at decisions in a binary way, it's good or bad, then that keeps us in a fearful state that whatever we do, we can't or we won't trust ourselves moving forward. Trusting the process of life and the bigger painting of life is how we can create neutrality with our decision-making skills. When you don't think that one decision is going to be a fatal mistake for you, and instead it's going to just be the next step in which you can pivot and change and adapt accordingly after you've made it, then it doesn't become so scary. It doesn't have a fear associated with it that nothing will be the same. And guess what? Nothing is ever the same as yesterday. Okay. when you live an aligned life, that means you're committed to elevating. It means you're committed to making decisions that feel right to you. You're making choices and decisions that feel like your life, that align with a dream life for you. And sometimes because we're human, we might get that wrong. We might get the decision wrong. Or so that's how we feel. But I do feel like that is possible. Very purposeful. I do feel like the universe knows and has everything written out in the stars for us. And we have chosen that before we came to Earth. That whatever we decide is going To be the perfect brush stroke in the painting of our lives. Everything is happening for us at all times. So if we can believe that, then we need to believe that whatever decisions and choices and experiences we are having is a part of that. Is a part of this bigger story. So when I get really focused in on one decision and it feels like I'm just wrapping my head around it and flipping it and putting it on its head and trying to understand. And trying to find the perfect solution, I consciously have to take a step back because I also understand that the universe has a plan. I'm just gonna trust that whatever I decide is going to lead me to the next, next part of my life, And all I can do is be present and experience it. And that's really it. It's not so complicated. And we need to be able to trust ourselves, trust our path, and trust the universe that everything is going to be all right. The biggest lesson, the biggest thing I need you to take from this is that. A decision of any kind is going to be better than feeling and being stagnant. Creating decisions of any kind for our life is going to propel us forward, but staying the same and staying in a cycle is just going to make you go insane. It's going to make you feel like nothing is happening. And you don't deserve that. You deserve to move towards your dream life and you deserve to find the courage within you to make any type of decision and trust yourself and trust the process that everything is working out in your favor. Decisions don't need to feel scary. Trusting the process is a process. You need to be able to let go and understand that everything's happening for a reason, whether it makes sense or not. We need to give ourselves grace in our human experience. And we need to be open to the possibility that whatever is experienced in this life for us is meant to be. We are meant to learn the lessons of. A wrong turn and detour into our dream life. We are meant to make a decision that surprises us We need to be open to the universe and the process that happens in the story being written and the painting being painted of life. It's beautiful, it's exciting, it's scary, but it is life at the end of the day. And that is it. I am proud of you if you've made any kind of decision today, big decision, small decision, whatever decision, because it means that you are taking steps forward, no matter what it is, and you're putting trust in yourself that you can do it. I am going to go unpack some more. I'm going to go clean some more and give myself a little bit of rest because that's what my body needs after this crazy time in my life. And I'm so proud of myself. I'm proud of everyone who's been along this journey with me. And I'm glad I got to get this message out in some way. Even if it's a little late. Even if it's a little late, I'm giving myself grace.
