- 0:00SPEAKER_01: In this episode, we are in Santiago del Estero for the kickoff of the Pro League 2024.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: We talk to World Players of the Year nominations, and we obviously get stuck into all things hockey.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: Welcome to a special episode of Let's Dit Together.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: We are in a lovely little meeting room.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: The three of us are in a room, it's not virtual, it's glorious.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: We can see Lub de Mol.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: We get to see him.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: It's the first time in a long time.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: How are you guys?
- 0:54SPEAKER_06: I'm good.
- 0:55SPEAKER_06: I'm good.
- 0:56SPEAKER_06: I'm I'm I'm a bit uh we're taping this uh on my uh rest today.
- 1:02SPEAKER_06: Uh we've lost against you guys.
- 1:05SPEAKER_06: Um it's kind of hurt to lose the breaking rights for now.
- 1:10SPEAKER_06: But um yeah, other than that, I'm good.
- 1:12SPEAKER_06: And you?
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, pretty good.
- 1:14SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, nice to actually see you.
- 1:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's been good.
- 1:17SPEAKER_04: It's been a good trip so far.
- 1:18SPEAKER_04: It's been quite a long trip, but it's been a good trip.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: I think sun helps with that.
- 1:22SPEAKER_04: Just get a bit of sunlight most days.
- 1:24SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, pretty good.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Well I'm in week three of Ruby with Brendan, so it's like it's not that good for me.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Um yeah.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: We've we've we've we've done alright.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: We we We've fallen out once, haven't we, Phil?
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: We've fallen out once.
- 1:39SPEAKER_04: Do you want to explain why or should we just leave it?
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: It depends whether you want to.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I can talk about it on this.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: I decided to put up a photo on Brendan's phone into the uh the players and staff WhatsApp group, and Brendan wasn't apparently that happy with that.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: So he hit the roof.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: Um and we had some some some frosty silence.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: We're over the hump, we've been playing Mario Kart, we've been back in a room, it's been yeah, it's been it's been a nice trip.
- 2:10SPEAKER_06: You two are a bit like a married couple together, right?
- 2:13SPEAKER_06: Like, yeah, well 100%.
- 2:16SPEAKER_04: We've now known each other for 22 years.
- 2:20SPEAKER_04: You are 100% the wife of the two.
- 2:22SPEAKER_04: I could not agree more.
- 2:24SPEAKER_04: I could not agree more.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, I will I well I wouldn't say the wife of the two.
- 2:29SPEAKER_04: I'm definitely the more emotional of the two, that's for certain.
- 2:32SPEAKER_06: Oh, so we can't say okay, yeah, fair.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Brendan's been very sensitive.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: I've been trying to be nicer to him.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: I made a pact to be nicer to him.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: You know, when someone's angry and you tell them don't be angry, it obviously doesn't stop them being angry, they just get more angry.
- 2:46SPEAKER_04: So Phil keeps telling me I'm sensitive, which naturally sets me off to be even more emotional.
- 2:51SPEAKER_04: And then gets annoyed at me because I'm more emotional, but he keeps telling me to stop being emotional.
- 2:56SPEAKER_06: It's it's I've never seen and the comment from me who's who's uh known for being on the closet very quickly, it took Phil just one word to get you on the closet.
- 3:06SPEAKER_06: You always said sensitive, but you just went off because I've heard it.
- 3:09SPEAKER_04: It's like every single day for the past three weeks.
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: You three weeks of being told I'm sensitive is not a thing to do.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: We should we should talk probably rather than my Brennan's relationship.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: We should talk about some hockey you mentioned.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: We have um now at this point when we're recording played two games.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: Um we've got some really exciting things coming up in this podcast.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: We talked to Thierry Brinkman and Zach Wallace in the same room, so two world-nominated players of the year, and Ollie Payne and Permin Black, again, two goalies being nominated.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: We've got some really cool stuff hopefully for you coming up.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Um we do touch on it because we played the Netherlands a couple of nights ago.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: Uh GB came out on top three, too.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: We've obviously playing them again in a couple of days' time.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: We've got another game against Argentina.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: We had a it was a strange game, it was kind of one of these end-to-end games with not many chances, so I don't really know how it felt for the neutral.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: It was really, really hard work.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: We had uh a good time, like I think I gave Yupe a little bit more um interaction than I've given him uh in the in the past.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: You're already laughing.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: I didn't realise that there was a moment where I won a free hit in the corner.
- 4:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and out of the blue, he just goes, Fucking diving little bitch.
- 4:26SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I went both you.
- 4:27SPEAKER_06: Remember, it's like he's the biggest guy on the field, and then he went, he got like a little pushbackun baia, which is like half his length.
- 4:34SPEAKER_06: Oh it was Burka, it was Burka.
- 4:36SPEAKER_06: Okay, fine, it was Burka.
- 4:37SPEAKER_06: Then he fell down, so I just said, you know what, for such a big guy, but I just really a little bitch or something.
- 4:42SPEAKER_06: I yelled at it at you.
- 4:43SPEAKER_06: And Phil, Phil, Phil like had this really nice dribble and this nice carry, and he felt like he got uh he got hit on the stick or whatever.
- 4:50SPEAKER_06: Then he went to the refuge in like typical Phil voice with the rope and desk, and he was like, I yelled really loud, what a clean tackle! And then Phil like in like in my rear side mirror went, you fuck you you and I looked at him like giggling and then he also had to giggle a bit, which was really funny.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: That was really it was really funny.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Although coming back to the Brendan point, that's exactly the same example I used a few weeks ago when we were talking about me calling you a little bit.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: It was the exact same situation.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: I was fucking knackered.
- 5:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, one the ball in the corner.
- 5:22SPEAKER_04: I was like, just get a free hit.
- 5:24SPEAKER_04: Just get any any opportunity I'm getting is free hit.
- 5:26SPEAKER_04: Stumble win the free hit.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: Boris, as he's backing off five yards, just goes, don't fucking dive again.
- 5:33SPEAKER_04: I was like, this is this is great.
- 5:34SPEAKER_04: I'm really enjoying this.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: You've just very, very like you are ridiculously disarming at times when you're trying to take stuff seriously.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: So straight after that, we had the giggle, and then I got the ball in the reverse.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: I was uh what's called chewing wasps.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: I couldn't see, I was so tired I needed to be jabs the ball away on first sideline, and he's like I was actually really grateful in that moment because it I could take my time on taking a sideline, but then he's just there five yards away with a massive smile on his face.
- 6:06SPEAKER_06: And then you played Beck and I called you a bitch again.
- 6:08SPEAKER_06: Yeah, played Becky bitch.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that also happens.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: So I mean what we're doing at the moment is I guess we've we've got to a point where we're we're we're yeah, I'm trying to take it seriously.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: You're never taking it seriously, but we're having a nice time.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: And um it's been it's been it's been a really nice we're all in the same hotel, which again makes it super easy.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: But um we're prepar GB are preparing for the Olympic qualifier the next month.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: We've got uh the Dutch and the RGs who've already qualified for the Olympics who are probably like testing some stuff out, seeing new players.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Um I'll probably ask you very quickly, Yup, how's the vibe in camp?
- 6:48SPEAKER_06: It's good.
- 6:48SPEAKER_06: It's good.
- 6:49SPEAKER_06: We know like we we haven't been uh we've been training uh not a lot, but we've been training um during the first half of the season, but it was mostly focused on club hockey.
- 6:59SPEAKER_06: Uh so we're all uh it's it's been our first international games and our first like real stuff since uh Europeans.
- 7:06SPEAKER_06: Uh so we're like uh I don't know how to say the correct things, but like feeling everything out a little bit and feeling how everyone's in the game.
- 7:12SPEAKER_06: We do miss Jonas and Thais to like main players for us.
- 7:15SPEAKER_06: Uh so as you said, I think Del May is using his time to uh this time to see other players and uh test some shit out, and uh yeah, we'll see how we go.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: And I guess we'll probably just I think take this uh we're really excited to for you to hear the next couple of parts.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: We've got part one with uh Brinkman and Wallace and part two with Payne and Perman.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Um please tune in.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: I hope that uh you know we we bash the pro league, we bash the FH.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: But if you can tune in to our games, they're all on BT Sport or TNT Sports back home.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: I don't know what are they on in me neither.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I think Seagal, but Seago uh in in Holland.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Um Brendan, anything to add?
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: No, nothing.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Uh look well, hope you enjoy these two parts coming up.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, try.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: Okay, the first part of this uh Let's Stick Together special episode.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: We're absolutely honoured to have with us two of the nominated World Players of the Year.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Zach Wallace, Thierry Brigman.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: How are you guys?
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Thierry, I'll come to you first because Zach's already made an appearance on the pod.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Thanks very much for coming on.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: You okay?
- 8:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm fine.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: Big honor for me to to be part of the Let's Stick Together podcast.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: So uh I need to see what's gonna happen.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: Uh uh yes, a couple of episodes.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: Uh so lie.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: Uh on Instagram.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: I followed you guys a couple uh one week ago.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: I think what did you think?
- 8:43SPEAKER_06: Oh, that's that's painful.
- 8:45SPEAKER_06: That's really painful.
- 8:46SPEAKER_06: What did you think of your card?
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: Uh the FIFA card.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the FIFA card.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: I think it was uh yeah, we we talked about it um during training.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: It's pretty tough to uh to give to give the numbers, I think.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: We said it to each other.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: Um I think it was nine nice ninety-three, I I guess.
- 9:05SPEAKER_06: Oh, this but no, we said ninety, but no?
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: No, no, that's fine, but we we talked about yeah for me uh my shot is pretty good uh defense, not that good.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: Uh but still yeah, yeah, it's difficult to to say yeah, what is the difference between a 60 and 70, or is a 70 and an 80.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: So but overall, I agree.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: And we've and we've been in incredibly clear about this, is that we do no research, it's just purely on the feel of what we think of.
- 9:34SPEAKER_06: And the difference between 80 and 90 is is the difference between that side of the table and this side of the table itself, just to make it clear.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: And Zach and 70 and 80.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Brendan, Brendan is collateral demon.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Brendan is in the room.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: As normal, he's took himself out of the equation.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: He's being the social media guy um and happy to do so.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: Um Zach, welcome back.
- 10:01SPEAKER_05: Yeah, thank you.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: You're back, like obviously, since we last spoke to you, you've become a world nominated player.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: How does that feel?
- 10:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's like uh Yeah, it's a big honour.
- 10:11SPEAKER_05: Um Yeah, I don't know if it was expected or not, like I've maybe had a good year in some parts and not in other parts.
- 10:19SPEAKER_05: Um but yeah, to be on the list with like so many other guys is yeah, such an amazing honor.
- 10:25SPEAKER_05: Um yeah, very proud to be there.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: And this is your second time being on the Discord.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, uh for me a big honor as well.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: But for me um it's it's it's really a um a result of the of the team performance.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: So I think we all know that we uh we uh guys with the Dutch squad are performing really well for almost two years, I think, with uh the new squad.
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: Um after the Tokyo Olympics with uh Yarun.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: I think all the players are improving a lot, uh and for me it's the same.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: Um the last two years, I think.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: Um I actually think you both have a chance of winning it this year because they've actually changed the voting.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: So, you know, they've actually changed the voting, so the experts get a bigger say, the fans have less of a say.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: Read into that what you will, but you actually both like i it's gonna come down to actually the percentages being closer, and you know, like you say, you already had a you did have an incredible year.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna reel off some stuff.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Sorry, Zach, this doesn't come across that well for you guys.
- 11:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no, he does a few goals, doesn't he?
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: If anyone has been, as I normally say, living under a rock, uh Terry's got 160 caps, you've got 70 goals, you're a four times EHL champ, you're uh uh sorry, a four times European championships winner, you're a three times Euro Hockey League winner.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: I I didn't go into any more because I would be here for too long.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: But obviously your resume is pretty unbelievable.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Your year, we've already talked about it, you winning at the Pro League, winning the Europeans third at the World Cup.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: It's been it's been a stellar year.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: Has this been your best year, or do you think there's there's been better yes, probably I think um the last two years were pretty uh pretty good.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah, I think the maybe the the biggest part of this this 23 um uh nomination list is also the the the world cup, and we all know that there was one guy uh that that was playing so so good there, uh Nicholas Wellen.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: Uh so I think maybe he has a big chance as well to to win it.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Uh, it was a bit the same with the the Ballon d'Or stuff at the World Cup uh with Argentina and Messi.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: Um maybe it's a bit the same with with this year.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: He played so amazing there, maybe for the experts of fans.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: Also the the story with his child, um the whole package.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: I think it was his his World Cup.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: And yeah, to be honest, um the list with all the prizes, really nice, really good.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah, uh we all want to aim for the the biggest ones, and that's the World Cup and the Olympic Games, and um and and I think that's that's not uh on the list uh so far.
- 13:08SPEAKER_06: So you want to chime in?
- 13:11SPEAKER_06: No, I think he's doing really well just sitting here listening, yeah.
- 13:17SPEAKER_06: Trying to do my best.
- 13:18SPEAKER_06: Hanging on your lips I like that.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: It's the same.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: No, I think you're right, like we're and actually I think we've talked about that.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: We'd love to see the the um it really comes down to in the biggest tournaments when the biggest players playing how you perform, and actually, in fairness to Valen, everything he touched turned to gold.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: He scored unbelievably big goals in big moments, and yeah, I mean still vote for these guys, but also it's it's great to talk about great players.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Do you want to try and this is the question?
- 13:58SPEAKER_06: No, it's not I'm just I'm just uh in awe of of uh of uh of Cherry on a second.
- 14:03SPEAKER_06: No, I think I do think they both have a really good chance together with uh with Vela.
- 14:07SPEAKER_06: I think that's the that that will be the top three.
- 14:10SPEAKER_06: Uh as we said and we made clear on our other podcasts.
- 14:13SPEAKER_06: I don't think uh Hardick and um uh Hayward uh had their had maybe had a good individual year, but both Australia and India didn't have their best year, and I think uh the team result has to has to be considered or like the nation has to be considered as successful to be nominated, in my opinion.
- 14:33SPEAKER_06: I think it's a bit about uh also inclusiveness that they want to uh have a player of each nation in it.
- 14:40SPEAKER_06: Um because you could have also selected like uh like a Jonas de Goys as well, I think, uh for our team, and you could have said you should have selected uh van.
- 14:49SPEAKER_06: Uh but we made that clear earlier.
- 14:50SPEAKER_06: So in my opinion, I hope the one, two, three will be between these two and uh and Wella, and and in my opinion, there's no bad winner if you ask me.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I actually think that we've we've maybe missed a trick here before I come on to Zach, is that like please, if you're listening to this, get onto the FIH website and actually place a vote because I don't know how the hell it works, because apparently there's player votes, but I've never ever received a chance to vote for as a player.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: Um, but what do you guys think about the the voting system?
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: Is it too difficult?
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: Because when you ask your your family, then they has to fill in the the email and other stuff and and a small code, and then do you think it's it's better than we're ta yeah, you're taking it to the next level.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: We need to make it, yeah, like you make it easier, yeah, make it more user-friendly to the click onto a website and click I'm voting for one person.
- 15:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, then should like even fans be allowed.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:47SPEAKER_05: I don't know if people that don't like when we talk about it, like we we sit here and go, Wellin's had a incredible year.
- 15:54SPEAKER_05: I don't know if many like Wellan doesn't have maybe the biggest social media profile.
- 15:59SPEAKER_05: Like do does your does your hockey fan know that?
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: I w I wanted to do, I've already spoken I wanted to do a like a Ballon d'Or type of style where they would nominate 30 people and then basically because then you can't miss anyone.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: We couldn't be sat here being like they missed uh the Hoos or they missed Van Oval, then it would be up to the experts and the and maybe the coaches and the captains to narrow it down to the top three, and then you would have like a really clear winner.
- 16:28SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I'm also not sure whether whether fans should be able to vote, to be honest.
- 16:32SPEAKER_06: Because there are there's a lot of fucked arts who who are voting and who don't know who don't know anything about it and just just just go and uh oh if uh Leah Hardy can say oh uh just vote on him.
- 16:41SPEAKER_06: Like they don't watch hockey enough to have a have a good vote.
- 16:44SPEAKER_06: So I think if you like in I think at the bottom d'or they make the people who are nominated vote as well.
- 16:49SPEAKER_06: So like players who get nominated can't vote on themselves but can vote on others.
- 16:52SPEAKER_06: I think that's also a good thing, and then media should vote and like an expert panel.
- 16:56SPEAKER_06: Um yeah, how how expert, how much of an expert are they if they miss yeah the players they do?
- 17:03SPEAKER_04: Are you saying that it should be four different categories?
- 17:05SPEAKER_04: So a media category, a fans category, a players category, a coaches category.
- 17:11SPEAKER_06: Well, I haven't thought it through that much.
- 17:13SPEAKER_06: Um sorry, that was editor Brendan, just in the back.
- 17:18SPEAKER_06: There's this weird bloke sitting in this room who just wants him and uh also jumps in.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Um sorry, okay, these are all I I do think that they're missing a trick also with like uh Brendan made this point last time about the like a breakdown of your years of like because I actually went on and tried to do a breakdown of your year, and like it's like how many games have you played, how many goals have you scored, how many like wins have you had, how many assists have you had, your breakdown of everything, how many wins have you like obviously won the pro league, second in pro league.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: Like we we had I I would have liked to see like really cool graphics mixed in with like your highlights because I think that's what everyone wants to see, and then maybe it like maybe it grows the hype for winning world player of the year, and they can like otherwise it's just like Brendan the the FIH decided to put out a vote for um Aaron Zalouski uh instead of Jeremy Hayward.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: They did a post, they got the wrong guy.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so which we're really trying to I'm not we're not getting into bitching about the FIH again, but fuck they they need to make it bigger, they need to promote you.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: We need more stars in the game.
- 18:31SPEAKER_06: Yeah, um they just need to step up because they just they put one goal out of uh that is just one goal vote for Czech.
- 18:38SPEAKER_06: Oh, here's a goal of him.
- 18:39SPEAKER_06: Like that's that that's they should like we have in and uh spoke about him already.
- 18:43SPEAKER_06: He's an avid listener of the podcast as well, Ramon Min.
- 18:45SPEAKER_06: He does like all the stats of like Hofklas uh uh uh international, like he does all the stats.
- 18:51SPEAKER_06: I think if you ask him, he has everything ready.
- 18:54SPEAKER_06: Like put put like graphs and they they already do it sometimes uh at Oranio hockey for like uh Madela, they had like a cool stat of like her year.
- 19:01SPEAKER_06: If you do that out of every player, and it's sometimes like for a midfielder or a defender, it can be different kind of stats than it can be for like uh a striker.
- 19:08SPEAKER_06: Uh so like if we go for Hayward, it would be more about uh jewels won or whatever, or like uh stuff like that.
- 19:14SPEAKER_06: It was the same with Virgil van Dijk when he was nominated.
- 19:16SPEAKER_06: I think if you do it like that, then people also get a better intel in how the year was.
- 19:20SPEAKER_06: And I don't think it's that hard to do because the stats are out there.
- 19:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: And Zax, just very quickly on to you.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Just oh, it's um I don't want to make sure we've we're not going over what we've already gone over, but you've got 101 caps, you've got 20 goals.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I don't know how many of them are strokes, but quite a lot of them.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: Only like three or four.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: But obviously, you've had a and also like a stellar year, you've you've um grown into a player who's leading uh the GB in England team, you're scoring big goals, you're scoring amazing goals, you decide to score a hat-trick, which I don't think you've ever scored a hat-trick before on your Blue Model, David.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm not sure what happened there.
- 19:58SPEAKER_05: And it seems to have gone out the window since it's not been many more.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: But but yeah, you've you've basically lit up at every possible moment, and um yeah, like again, I'll just ask how's it been for you, and then I'll move on to Tyrion and ask how's it been to play together?
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: So you can go first.
- 20:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah, like the the year in general.
- 20:17SPEAKER_05: Um yeah, it's been it's been a crazy year, it's been a full-on year, we obviously had the World Cup and a Europeans in one year.
- 20:24SPEAKER_05: Um like it seems like this been non-stop uh really like the whole year travelling, starting here in Argentina and India, New Zealand, where like we've been all over the world.
- 20:34SPEAKER_05: Um But yeah, I think like you said, like our I think the team results is a big part of it, and and for us as a group we're like we're really growing.
- 20:43SPEAKER_05: Um we've got a young group that we've sort of like played together now for the last two or three years.
- 20:48SPEAKER_05: Um I think it's yeah, we've got a special group, special feeling in the group, and obviously it was a massive moment for us and the Europeans to to get over that semi-final.
- 20:58SPEAKER_05: Um it may seem like such a small thing for these guys now, but um like for us as an England group we'd never or a Great Britain group, we'd never got over a semi-final since 2009.
- 21:07SPEAKER_05: I think it was.
- 21:08SPEAKER_05: Um So that was a big step forward for us as a group, and yeah, I think looking forward to the Olympics is the big one.
- 21:15SPEAKER_05: Now we've played in a final.
- 21:16SPEAKER_05: Uh we've had that experience, I think uh that was a big moment for us, and yeah, sort of looking to just keep on growing, um, make those finals and turn the silvers into golds.
- 21:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but I think to add on that, I don't and you shouldn't I don't think you should downplay it.
- 21:30SPEAKER_06: Um because I think that's what my uh point was with also the coach of the year discussion.
- 21:34SPEAKER_06: I don't think the the coach who's won stuff should always be the coach of the year.
- 21:39SPEAKER_06: For instance, I think it should be relative.
- 21:41SPEAKER_06: I think if if if you were uh the main player of that England team, of like the English team of last European uh uh last Europeans and uh you did it as a team but you got them over the hump of the semi final.
- 21:54SPEAKER_06: Uh I think that should be worth also like uh be to be considered a special, if you know what I mean.
- 22:00SPEAKER_06: I do think winning something will help.
- 22:01SPEAKER_06: So, like for instance, Vela winning the World Cup or you winning the Europeans will help in voting.
- 22:06SPEAKER_06: But I think it's also a bit relative.
- 22:08SPEAKER_06: Like uh I made the the point about the Dutch women, um about the coach who won Europeans.
- 22:14SPEAKER_06: I don't want to downplay it for them because it's as we said uh multiple times, it's it's incredible what they are doing as a team.
- 22:20SPEAKER_06: But should that automatically mean he's the coach of the year, or should like a Belgian coach who got them into a final and like brought him up?
- 22:26SPEAKER_06: Should that be worth more?
- 22:28SPEAKER_06: Or like Chile who's uh who if if they get uh uh qualified for Olympics for the first time, should that be made more uh special?
- 22:35SPEAKER_06: So I think I do think what you guys did in reaching a final for the first time in what is it, 14 years is also a really big achievement.
- 22:44SPEAKER_06: Well, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:46SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: It's not all stupid that comes out everywhere.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: And I'm also waiting for you to be condescending, but you can't work.
- 22:54SPEAKER_06: No, no, I mean genuinely like it's very you've you've been losing for 14 years and now you finally we're we're winning something.
- 23:01SPEAKER_06: Uh not really, but like on the winning side.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: And uh Thierry, like how how is it how's that done?
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: How's it been to add another world-class player into your team?
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: It's kind of a bit strange because you're not at the top of the tree like normal for Blumenthal, but like and with the emphasis on another, like have the emphasis on another star player.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's a it's a bit of a it's yeah, it's a bit of a joke.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: You've got Arthur Van Door who's won it twice, you've got you two playing in the same team, you've got yeah, some decent other players.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but for me to be honest, we are really happy that Saki uh joined Blumenthal this season because we lost a couple of really important ones.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: Um, Dutch players, uh Glenn Schuurman, Roel Boveneert, Tim Svaan, all those guys that played for uh six years, 14 years in our group, so that that was a really long time.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: So we really needed really good players to to be to stay at the top, and uh Zaki is uh an amazing player.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: Uh, and I think the biggest uh challenge, I think it it's a small challenge, but the biggest challenge for our group is that we have to talk in English much uh during meeting.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's that's that sounds a bit stupid, uh but yeah, it is it is uh because we had um Michel van Heuvel as a coach, and um he's talking uh box toss.
- 24:22SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's uh it's like a like a dish, like a it's an area in Holland is Brabant where also you played, yeah.
- 24:30SPEAKER_06: Uh and it's a bit it's not it's the same language but you speak it differently.
- 24:35SPEAKER_06: I like Yellow.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: And so now in the beginning of the season we have to switch during meetings also.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: Um if you want to explain something, even as a coach to a player or a player to a player, um that's that's more difficult than than to do it in in Dutch.
- 24:52SPEAKER_02: But um and you're captain now.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: So do you always do you do the team Huddle?
- 24:57SPEAKER_06: Do you do it in English?
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah, I switch a bit, huh?
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:01SPEAKER_02: So sometimes in Dutch, when I think fuck it, I have to sorry, uh I have to do it in Dutch right now.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: No, you can say fuck it.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: Oh yes, I like so fuck it, I will do it in Dutch right now.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah, sometimes um when I I I really know what I want to say uh and then then sometimes it's better to do it in Dutch.
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: But for me, um when it's about situations with uh you and uh Mark Mirais as well, then it's it's it's much better to do it in English.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: He's got really good at smiling and nodding a lot.
- 25:39SPEAKER_05: Of the time when he's speaking in Dutch, like I'll be I'll be there in the huddle and I'm I'll propagate the channel, I'm really feeling no idea what he said, but I could feel it.
- 25:49SPEAKER_05: I can feel what he said.
- 25:50SPEAKER_06: I I do feel with your team this year, but and we don't want to get too much into Holf Cluster, probably, but I do feel with with your team uh that it's like a sleeping giant, like it's uh because everyone, and that's also the thing in Holland, we always like to bash what's good.
- 26:05SPEAKER_06: So uh when a team is doing really well, we always try to knock them down.
- 26:08SPEAKER_06: So now Blumen now had a terrible start of the season, terrible, they were awful.
- 26:13SPEAKER_06: They're still fourth with the game in hand.
- 26:15SPEAKER_06: So like uh so and and we you you got unlucky a couple times, uh like against Orange Road, you should have lost or you got a point.
- 26:24SPEAKER_06: Uh no, like they got they got unlucky a couple times, but now you see that the engine is starting to run a little bit, and I think um it's a team uh that's uh you don't really want to face at the moment.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm gonna put all of you on the spot quickly.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: Um first.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Can we go in the coop or not?
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: Can we go in the coop?
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: Do you know what the coop is?
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: No, what is a coop?
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: The weird guy in the room again is making So in the coop, um Yupe's in charge and he asks a random question to you, and you gotta try and uh answer nice nice and fast.
- 27:03SPEAKER_06: Oh, I have I have a good one.
- 27:05SPEAKER_06: Welcome to the coop.
- 27:08SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
- 27:11SPEAKER_06: I really like that second coop.
- 27:13SPEAKER_06: You can be my cock.
- 27:15SPEAKER_06: Um if you had to switch nationalities, what nation would you choose?
- 27:23SPEAKER_06: Um so you're you're being you're being discarded, like you're you're you're you'll you'll be like in Holland people would hate you and you're like you have to switch.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: You don't agree with the gun go for Australia.
- 27:36SPEAKER_06: Australia, yes.
- 27:37SPEAKER_06: Really?
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: I don't I I don't want it but with I like the the mentality and I think it's a really beautiful country to live.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: The way they play hockey, I think sometimes yeah, we we get angry uh against those guys, but I think when you're in in that squad as well, it's really nice.
- 27:58SPEAKER_02: The country really nice.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, fair.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: Would you choose Australia, Phil?
- 28:03SPEAKER_06: Phil tends to hate Australia.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: I don't hate Australia.
- 28:06SPEAKER_05: Australians, uh probably Holland.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: That's a follow.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: He's got a right little smirk on his eyes.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: He's really cute the low.
- 28:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he's my captain, I've got to be honest.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: And you Phil?
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: Oh fuck.
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: I can't say Holland now, can I?
- 28:26SPEAKER_06: You can you want it, don't you?
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: You want no Argentina.
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: Then I definitely don't have to pass it.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: Argentina?
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:40SPEAKER_06: You yeah, everyone knows England.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: You want your cup of tea and biscuits.
- 28:48SPEAKER_06: 100%.
- 28:48SPEAKER_06: I would go for the teas, I would go for the biscuits.
- 28:50SPEAKER_06: 100%.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Have you got anything else or shall we finish up?
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: No, we can finish up.
- 28:55SPEAKER_06: I I do have one shit or hit, but I don't have one if you want to do it now.
- 28:57SPEAKER_06: Go on, you go.
- 28:58SPEAKER_06: But it's about English Like the phrases in all honesty and no offense.
- 29:04SPEAKER_06: I think those are the biggest bullshit things in English uh uh language there is.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: This isn't a shit or hit, this is just you having a go at the English.
- 29:10SPEAKER_06: No, but I just want to know, like, if when people say no offense, it's always offensive.
- 29:14SPEAKER_05: It's always about to offend someone.
- 29:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 29:17SPEAKER_06: So why say it?
- 29:18SPEAKER_06: Like no offense to the office.
- 29:19SPEAKER_06: Just to break down the barriers before you offense.
- 29:21SPEAKER_06: I'm not that good of hockey player.
- 29:22SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:22SPEAKER_06: It's very offense.
- 29:23SPEAKER_05: But by saying but by saying no offense, you've you've put me on like relax me.
- 29:26SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and then you're you're relaxed and you get it you get an uppercut.
- 29:30SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 29:30SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 29:31SPEAKER_05: But it but it feels nicer.
- 29:32SPEAKER_05: If you just said you're not very good, what the fuck?
- 29:35SPEAKER_06: Also with in in all honesty.
- 29:37SPEAKER_06: So in all honesty, okay, so now you're honest.
- 29:39SPEAKER_06: So the rest of the time you you like.
- 29:41SPEAKER_06: Know what I mean?
- 29:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 29:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah, in all honesty.
- 29:43SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay, so there everything you just said before is not honestly.
- 29:47SPEAKER_04: No, this is the in all honesty is so you brace yourself ready for quite a personal comment.
- 29:54SPEAKER_04: So Phil uses it and says, Can I be honest?
- 29:56SPEAKER_04: And I know full well that Phil is gonna say something that's meant to hurt me, but he's trying to be nice about it.
- 30:01SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but then again, I don't think why why why why are you now starting to be honest?
- 30:05SPEAKER_06: Why not before?
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: He died an admate.
- 30:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: It's a good question.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: Just a quick uh follow-up to both of you.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Um do you guys wash your kit in the bath at all when you're on trips?
- 30:20SPEAKER_06: No.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: Did you get washing done for you?
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: Sorry, the the what?
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: So you know when you got smelly kit?
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: I brought it to the the the Wasseretta.
- 30:29SPEAKER_06: Yeah, to like the laundry place.
- 30:31SPEAKER_06: It's it's like it's two blocks over and you you pay.
- 30:33SPEAKER_06: Ten minutes, ten minutes walk.
- 30:34SPEAKER_06: You pay two hundred pesos, which is like twenty cents, and then two thousand, which is like two thousand two thousand two euros two euros, two euros for yeah, for all back.
- 30:46SPEAKER_06: Two euros and then you get it back the next day.
- 30:48SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 30:49SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 30:49SPEAKER_06: But you keep washing in your uh in your bathtub.
- 30:52SPEAKER_06: We don't even have a bathtub here.
- 30:54SPEAKER_06: Oh I don't.
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: Me neither.
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: No.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: Um last thing, just to um I want to ask if you both would be willing to do a bit of a wager on like how your predictions of the game's gonna go out here.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: Um and um like how many games out of the four do you think you're gonna win?
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Do you think you're gonna we're gonna beat each other?
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: And if you lose, uh I'd love to see like an Instagram story to the other one saying well done for the win.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: How do you feel about that?
- 31:25SPEAKER_02: Um I think um at least one shootout series.
- 31:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: Um the other game is really close, just one three to two for us.
- 31:48SPEAKER_02: Just win the shootout.
- 31:51SPEAKER_05: GB Zucky?
- 31:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think we have uh a win and a shoe outwin.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: Win and a shoe outwin.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: Just one point for us.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: Just one point one of them.
- 32:04SPEAKER_06: I think I think the first game will be five nil for us.
- 32:08SPEAKER_06: Like we're really eager for the second game and then again four-one for us.
- 32:15SPEAKER_06: You guys have the pressure of like Olympic qualification just around the corner.
- 32:19SPEAKER_06: Like we are already we will already be sitting in on the beach chilling, thinking about thinking about Paris and shit, and uh yeah.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: Okay, like that that's the biggest challenge there for now.
- 32:29SPEAKER_02: You guys are preparing for uh Olympic qualifier and and we guys are trying to to do some new stuff maybe, and um yeah, I think that's a that's a bit uh a mental difference.
- 32:40SPEAKER_02: We're playing we're playing 60 minutes without a gun.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: We'll we'll wrap it up there.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: Like uh firstly, uh thank you both very much for coming on.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: Thierry, thanks so much for taking the time.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: Zachy, thanks for returning out.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: Please, uh anyone listening, uh go on to the FIH website, uh vote for these guys, please uh get it done and and start talking about it.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: It's been uh you know, we we couldn't miss this opportunity to sit in a room with them and uh shoot.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure we got that much.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: I hope we did a decent interview process, but probably not.
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: But thank you again for coming on.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: It's been uh it's been it's been it's been awesome.
- 33:18SPEAKER_06: Yeah, please like people said please vote and please also vote on these guys uh because we we don't want to have a debacle like the last three years, we want to have the rightful players at the top.
- 33:28SPEAKER_06: So make sure you vote these guys there both, and I think they're very deserted.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: That was really nice.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: Thanks guys.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: Right, it's part two of our Argentina special of Let's Stick Together.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: We are now joined by uh two more world nominated players.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: Uh goalie goalies, our favourite type of type of players, Ollie Payne and Permin Black.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: Um guys, it's lovely to have you.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Thank you for coming here.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: It was in sunny Argentina.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: Um Ollie, you nervous?
- 34:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, super nervous.
- 34:05SPEAKER_04: I've heard a lot about how you guys treat goalkeepers.
- 34:08SPEAKER_03: And Perman.
- 34:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that scares me a bit, the treatment, yeah.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: Brendan isn't here, so we can't point phone at anyone, but like uh because he's decided in in Brendan fashion that he's not getting involved.
- 34:20SPEAKER_03: But you're in a three company, isn't it, right?
- 34:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: We are we are a three somewhere, but uh today Brendan said no he's not interested.
- 34:30SPEAKER_06: So he's talking he's he talked a lot about that he and you are calling him sensitive a lot.
- 34:36SPEAKER_06: But yeah, I think it speaks for itself now.
- 34:38SPEAKER_03: We don't even have to call him or maybe he knows enough about goalkeeping yet.
- 34:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: Ah, true, yeah.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: He doesn't think either of you are worthy of Maddie, so he's disappointed that you've brought you both.
- 34:51SPEAKER_04: We're not legends on FIFA cards.
- 34:53SPEAKER_03: No, and it's a different sport.
- 34:55unknown: Yeah.
- 34:55SPEAKER_06: He used to get off Maddie's cock a bit.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: And quick question to you both.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: Um, do you listen?
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: Do you listen to our podcast?
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: Don't there's no judgment here?
- 35:07SPEAKER_03: No, I sometimes listen because Jupis uh and yourself are reposting it on the Instagram, so uh I've heard some nice uh stories.
- 35:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:16SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, I've I've told you this before, Phil.
- 35:19SPEAKER_04: I I listen, I g I give it a go, and then I was looking on my Spotify, and you can see like how long left you've got, or like when you stop listening, and each episode there's like a point where I just get bored of you guys, so it's like 20 minutes to go, 10 minutes to go.
- 35:34SPEAKER_04: Basically, whenever one of you guys just that's the that's then me done.
- 35:39SPEAKER_06: Seems fair.
- 35:39SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 35:40SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I don't blame you.
- 35:41SPEAKER_01: I always accept that wholeheartedly.
- 35:44SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I yeah, I always I always feel like we're uh it is a lot of bullshit to to fathom.
- 35:49SPEAKER_06: Yeah, like it's it's good, but it's yeah, it's a lot.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: I probably have more judgment for the people who get to the end of our podcast than probably for the people who like you who crack on.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: Even though we are very nice to you.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: We're we're quite nice to both of you actually.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: We've been very nice in the past.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: Can they finish your podcast?
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: Oh! Look what I did.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: He's decided.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: Serious phone live.
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: We have our uh our editor, our guy who sometimes joins, sometimes doesn't.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: He's walked in.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: Brendan, do you want to say anything?
- 36:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's all been organised without me.
- 36:19SPEAKER_04: Fucking fuming.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: Brendan again is being a bit sensitive because I asked everyone else about the timings of this before I asked him.
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: In case right, so in case um uh people don't know, we have Oli Payne, we've got Perman Black.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: Permanent I'll be nice to you first.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: You got 136 caps.
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: You're three times European champion, you debuted in 2011, meaning you're fucking old.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: And you've just become a father, uh which is uh you know incredible.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: Um we're very, very lucky to have you on here.
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: I think you've been nominated.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: Is your fourth time for being nominated?
- 36:52SPEAKER_01: Third time, okay.
- 36:52SPEAKER_01: I was being too nice.
- 36:54SPEAKER_03: But um twice punished by an Indian or you don't want to go that first.
- 37:00SPEAKER_03: Okay, no, it's fine.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: To the post by uh Sri.
- 37:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and Indian hockey.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: Fair enough.
- 37:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:08SPEAKER_04: I love the description punished by the way.
- 37:10SPEAKER_03: Punished, yeah, nice.
- 37:11SPEAKER_03: My English is not that good.
- 37:12SPEAKER_03: I try to level yourself.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: And uh Peino, you've got 60 caps now, debuted in 2020.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: The young gun, you've been nominated for the first time.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: I guess I'll ask Perman first, like, is it still an uh an honour to be nominated?
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: Are you annoyed that this is your third time and still haven't won?
- 37:31SPEAKER_01: How do you uh how do you feel about it?
- 37:32SPEAKER_03: Uh of course this more political answer.
- 37:34SPEAKER_03: It's always nice to be nominated because yeah, uh top five of the world.
- 37:39SPEAKER_03: We dream of.
- 37:40SPEAKER_03: Sometimes you want to win it as well, and in one season you deserve it maybe more than the others.
- 37:45SPEAKER_01: Uh do you think you've deserved to win it once?
- 37:48SPEAKER_03: I think uh uh once from the last two times uh there was a season where it was really good.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: Actually, you had a hell of a year, didn't you?
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: I do remember that year.
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: 2018 with the World Cup.
- 37:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was a message.
- 38:00SPEAKER_06: Fucking ridiculous this year.
- 38:02SPEAKER_06: Yeah, come on, he was best goalie at the World Cup, like and uh at that World Cup, and I think it was not really that close.
- 38:08SPEAKER_06: Did Fanash win it, or did it be?
- 38:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, all the Belgians one.
- 38:10SPEAKER_03: Coach, player, talent.
- 38:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah, also oh yeah, I thought that was the Yersginius one.
- 38:15SPEAKER_06: But then then it's not not the biggest robbery there is, but uh Fanash was also quite decent.
- 38:21SPEAKER_03: What a nice word, decent.
- 38:24SPEAKER_01: And uh Pano, your first time nominated.
- 38:27SPEAKER_01: Now I know that you hate this type of thing.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: Um refusing to put it on your Instagram basically any time Peino spoke in the last two weeks, um, people have been like, oh, just because you will go to the other year now.
- 38:38SPEAKER_03: You need to listen to put it on Instagram because I have no shame anymore to put it on my Instagram.
- 38:41SPEAKER_01: No, Amesy did bring that up.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: He said uh was it an overunder of 50 times on your Instagram in the first two months?
- 38:47SPEAKER_03: I sent it out to a management company and they said that we will help you.
- 38:50SPEAKER_03: So I head over my account, just use it.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: So Penny, are you gonna take a leaf out of them that book?
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: I'm not that big time.
- 38:57SPEAKER_04: Maybe two more nominations and I'll get out.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: And how do you feel being nominated?
- 39:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, alright.
- 39:03SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 39:05SPEAKER_04: Um to yeah, that people think you've had a good year.
- 39:09SPEAKER_04: Um yeah.
- 39:10SPEAKER_06: Do you think you had a good year?
- 39:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, uh we we'll all know that like when you feel like you have a good game, you feel like you should always be doing that.
- 39:19SPEAKER_04: Um so you feel like you can always like be playing at that level.
- 39:22SPEAKER_04: Um there's always stuff that yeah, you think you can be doing better.
- 39:26SPEAKER_04: I were wasn't too happy with Euros.
- 39:29SPEAKER_04: Uh like I've had better tournaments, which is the ironic thing, but in terms of like consistency, being happy with like the level.
- 39:36SPEAKER_04: Um yeah.
- 39:37SPEAKER_03: But even though you're not at the Euros, you can be nominated, so there's no problem.
- 39:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:41SPEAKER_03: It doesn't matter.
- 39:42SPEAKER_03: So if you play not your best tournament, it doesn't really matter.
- 39:45SPEAKER_03: No.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: That is actually true.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: She both had like pretty stellar world cups this year, I'd say.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: Like uh Payne, you only conceded two goals, which is pretty nice.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: And Permanent.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: Four four rounds?
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: Well, I'll bet you.
- 40:12SPEAKER_03: No, but let's be honest, if if uh as a competitor and also goalie family, he was having a fucking awesome year.
- 40:21SPEAKER_06: We're not going goalie family.
- 40:23SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 40:23SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 40:23SPEAKER_06: No, that is not okay.
- 40:25SPEAKER_06: Like I thought we're not saying goalie family.
- 40:28SPEAKER_03: I follow him more on Instagram about what he's doing than you.
- 40:32SPEAKER_03: You play only golf.
- 40:33SPEAKER_04: We we've got a we've got a goalkeeper on WhatsApp group.
- 40:35SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's lose.
- 40:40SPEAKER_04: That was a joke, we don't have that.
- 40:45SPEAKER_03: You got in it.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Imagine that, you got it in permanent section.
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: Just turn on the highlights, mate, that right hand extension was fucking fantastic this weekend.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, that's pretty good.
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: We we I mean, I was gonna say to you both, I've had the privilege of playing with you both, but you both have similar like ways of um I kinda liked trying to wind goalies up, but you both have pretty similar ways of trying to get us back.
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: I remember playing at OR with you, and you basically belittled every time you shot every time I had a shot, you'd um you'd abuse me when I when I like saying it's to you know, actually try and hit it this time, Phil.
- 41:24SPEAKER_01: Don't shot the goal.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: The goals over here, that type of stuff.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: Um Peino, kind of similar, but you like to try and guess a direction, and then when you've guessed the direction and I've hit it there quite hard, you just save it with ease and then just say, sort your shit out, Phil.
- 41:38SPEAKER_01: Like it's quite kind of nice that you is guessing more the gambling, like casino?
- 41:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:43SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: You like to do that as well.
- 41:44SPEAKER_03: Not all goalkeepers have been there.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: No, this is normally when you're just having a shot for the fun of it in training.
- 41:50SPEAKER_01: Like you'll be like, Payne, you ready, and he'll jump to one side, you'll hit it that side, and he'll like kick it away really easily, and then basically swear at you.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:59SPEAKER_03: Like you're blind then as a player.
- 42:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:01SPEAKER_03: Stupid, eh?
- 42:02SPEAKER_04: Fill off the ladies' tears.
- 42:03SPEAKER_04: Just go and go and postman's side.
- 42:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: Same like practicing drag flicks without the line defender.
- 42:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like then flicking all balls line stop low.
- 42:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:15SPEAKER_04: And free outskirts run.
- 42:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:17SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I didn't you fucking you fuckers are a bit spoiled.
- 42:20SPEAKER_06: So ever since ever since the runners have become decent, you guys think, oh the whole left side of the door is not my responsibility anymore.
- 42:29SPEAKER_03: That's what the trainer wants.
- 42:32SPEAKER_03: I came from uh Yeah, they kind of said it looks really old, but when you when the hedge burger was running the corners, how did he run to the side flag?
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: The corner flag.
- 42:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:46SPEAKER_03: They went straight out.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: This is perfect, by the way, because you've already sort of formulated a team between you to go back and we're not a WhatsApp group, mate.
- 42:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we know we got a plan.
- 42:58SPEAKER_03: You told me that Brennan played a good game because he threw throw a lot of high balls.
- 43:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 43:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 43:03SPEAKER_03: That's for us standing on the pitch the whole day.
- 43:06SPEAKER_01: You're getting some shit because I said you played well, and Perman just said, Well, is that just playing well?
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: You just throw a load of high balls.
- 43:12SPEAKER_04: Uh I I can say for free, having just had my meetings with coaches, I didn't play well.
- 43:17SPEAKER_04: Oh you don't mean that.
- 43:18SPEAKER_03: But also coaches need to be relaxed a bit.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, chill out.
- 43:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: We have actually played, I should say, we've we're recording this a few days after.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: We've all played one game of our first pro league trip, and um it's kind of we beat the Dutch 3-2, we lost the RG's 2-1, and then uh Permanent beat uh Argentina 3-0 last night.
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: Congrats, clean sheet, it's big.
- 43:39SPEAKER_01: And uh it's uh been a pretty enjoyable trip so far.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: Have you got anything to add, you?
- 43:45SPEAKER_06: No, not really.
- 43:46SPEAKER_06: It's a bit uh like the the atmosphere yesterday was really nice, but uh besides the coffee place uh on the other side of the road, there's not a whole lot to do uh round here.
- 43:54SPEAKER_06: Um there's fuck all to do apart from the coffee.
- 44:00SPEAKER_06: It's a shithole.
- 44:02SPEAKER_03: I I was sick four days, so I only stayed in my bed.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: Payne wasn't sick, but he hasn't left his bed yet.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: So that's just how he lives.
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: Trying to get him really like socialising.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: No.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: Trying to get him to do this was tough enough because I had to work around his nap schedule.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: It's true.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: Um but right, so more serious questions I guess is that we wondered what what your do you think anyone missed out on the nominations this year?
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: Is there anyone who you've been like rating from afar?
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: How do you feel like the you know, without pushing yourselves, who do you think should be winning this year?
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: Because again we've had interesting ones with Danneberg not playing the World Cup, having a kind of rough Europeans and then being nominated above Stadler who won the World Cup.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: And yeah, how do you guys view it?
- 44:48SPEAKER_04: Do you want to go or should I say it?
- 44:50SPEAKER_04: Uh it's I think it's pretty open, um to be honest, because of like more like Moritz obviously played well at um Euros but then didn't play the World Cup.
- 45:01SPEAKER_04: Dannenberg is like the same.
- 45:03SPEAKER_04: Um so I think it's yeah, it's it's pretty open.
- 45:06SPEAKER_04: I don't really know in terms of who wins it.
- 45:08SPEAKER_04: I think I think to be honest, I think it comes down to who's actually won the most stuff, pro league, Euros and World Cup, and then go from there.
- 45:16SPEAKER_04: Um I think the the only person that I could think getting nominated as well is Vissa, as well, like as well as as well as you, because if you've both been win won the Pro League, he won Euros, you did well um at World Cup and came third.
- 45:30SPEAKER_01: That's a good point.
- 45:31SPEAKER_03: Is that to tease me in this way?
- 45:33SPEAKER_03: No, no.
- 45:34SPEAKER_03: Don't get defensive.
- 45:38SPEAKER_00: Are you saying it's a shit going?
- 45:40SPEAKER_00: Are you saying next time ask uh it's got a bit higher from the water?
- 45:46SPEAKER_04: He's a lot bigger than me as well.
- 45:48SPEAKER_03: So he only played a few games this season.
- 45:51SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 45:51SPEAKER_03: And it yeah.
- 45:52SPEAKER_03: Do you see the Euros as a major tournament?
- 45:55SPEAKER_01: It's pretty major, I'd say.
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: No, it's major.
- 46:02SPEAKER_03: No, I I don't want him in the list, not personally, and if I really honest.
- 46:06SPEAKER_03: The World Cup and the Pro League are the main tournaments this season, was it?
- 46:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 46:11SPEAKER_03: I know I got punished twice when it didn't count the Euros, so now we don't gotta count the Euros for I think I think you're right.
- 46:17SPEAKER_06: I don't think I I think the Dunnenberg uh nomination is pretty weird.
- 46:21SPEAKER_06: Uh because he had he had one good shootout series, but he didn't have like a he also became uh uh best goalie at uh at the Euros, right?
- 46:29SPEAKER_04: No, that was for uh and played he didn't play in the final game itself.
- 46:32SPEAKER_06: No, so I'm I'm a bit like that's what like kind of I think he got one good uh one had like one good shootout series in the World Cup and that's what made him like on the map.
- 46:42SPEAKER_06: But he besides that he didn't really have a really good tournament at the Euros or uh did Sun did anything special in Pro League.
- 46:49SPEAKER_06: Um again I don't think uh I think Fanash um is a really good goalie still, but I don't think he's he's had the year he's had in the past.
- 46:58SPEAKER_06: But I do think who's the who's the five charter.
- 47:01SPEAKER_04: The Aussie keeper.
- 47:02SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah, as good as he gives the answer.
- 47:05SPEAKER_06: Really great world guy.
- 47:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we we just do it we discount Australians on this podcast.
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: Right, we we we'll come to some more serious stuff.
- 47:13SPEAKER_01: Like the the the big message we've been sending here is is please um if you're listening, we want these guys to win.
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: We want one of you guys to win.
- 47:21SPEAKER_01: We like please go onto your laptop, your iPad, your phone, sign the fuck in and vote for them.
- 47:27SPEAKER_01: Um like I think i i I would be really disappointed if one of you didn't win, but like we've talked about how much we rate the World Cup as the kind of stellar tournament that we should be based off of, but also obviously like there's a consistent period, and I think you could probably argue really nice arguments for both of you to win win it, and I think personally I'd love to see one of you uh like be crowned as the the world's best goal.
- 47:50SPEAKER_01: That's another nice bit more than that.
- 47:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's a bit more than enough.
- 47:55SPEAKER_01: We are gonna head into the coop if you're both okay with that.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: Um and uh because we want everyone to join us in the coop with you.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: Uh anyone interested in being a huge cock.
- 48:09SPEAKER_03: I see you four times a week.
- 48:15SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 48:16SPEAKER_06: What's the worst position in the field?
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: Right or left back.
- 48:27SPEAKER_06: Why?
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, receive the ball or place it down the line or place it back in the in the in the back four, back five, that's it.
- 48:35SPEAKER_03: Nothing more to do.
- 48:37SPEAKER_04: Whoever runs number one.
- 48:40SPEAKER_04: You're all idiots.
- 48:43SPEAKER_04: You're all stupid.
- 48:47SPEAKER_03: You had also a strange runner, man.
- 48:49SPEAKER_03: I saw him hit.
- 48:52SPEAKER_03: Does he does he have a relationship or something?
- 48:54SPEAKER_04: He's unbreakable.
- 48:56SPEAKER_04: He's not.
- 48:57SPEAKER_04: He's pretty broken at the moment.
- 48:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but he's sly tackled Jansen when he hits it.
- 49:02SPEAKER_01: He's Paino's hero.
- 49:03SPEAKER_01: He says Peino comes to him after every tournament and says that you need to just follow me everywhere I go.
- 49:08SPEAKER_04: Because is he playing at your club as well?
- 49:10SPEAKER_04: No, but I'm doing all my all that I can.
- 49:15SPEAKER_06: He gets hit left, right, and centre.
- 49:16SPEAKER_06: I saw him leave the game against us, and I thought, ah, well, he's gone, and then 20 minutes later he's back on the field, running out again.
- 49:23SPEAKER_06: Like, it's what a what a he's a he he like I spoke to him a couple times, he's a genuinely nice guy, but he's he's also a bit uh cuckoo in the uh right.
- 49:32SPEAKER_04: Crazy.
- 49:33SPEAKER_04: He after he got hit um from the like the hit, yeah, he was on the bench with his ice pack, like sock off, shin pad, ice pack off.
- 49:42SPEAKER_04: It's like pocky, you ever?
- 49:43SPEAKER_04: He's like, yeah, I'm fine.
- 49:45SPEAKER_04: You do not look fine.
- 49:47SPEAKER_04: And then again, and then like you say it's back on.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: He is a goalie stream, I think.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: He just seemingly nothing can get past the biggest.
- 49:55SPEAKER_03: I have GDM this year.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: He's the profile picture, right?
- 49:58SPEAKER_03: I have this year a GDM.
- 50:00SPEAKER_06: GGM.
- 50:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:05SPEAKER_06: But I think it means JDM.
- 50:07SPEAKER_03: GDM.
- 50:07SPEAKER_03: I call him GDM.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: Some kind of fucking weird spin-up of GDM.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: He's doing really well at the moment, yeah.
- 50:15SPEAKER_03: Top of the table?
- 50:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm a good runner.
- 50:16SPEAKER_03: Halfway?
- 50:17unknown: Yeah.
- 50:17SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I'm a decent runner.
- 50:19SPEAKER_06: Not Park, but I'm pretty decent.
- 50:28SPEAKER_06: Yeah, large.
- 50:29SPEAKER_06: Let's not talk too much about first runners because it's I think you're right.
- 50:32SPEAKER_06: But what do you think is the worst position in the field?
- 50:35SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 50:36SPEAKER_06: Why do you think first runners are idiots and then you guys stand there being willingly hit and you're like everywhere?
- 50:42SPEAKER_04: Have you seen how much foam we've got on?
- 50:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, have you seen a little knee pad?
- 50:48SPEAKER_03: We play with the same brand almost, so I know how he's protected.
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: I would say that you don't have a you don't have a dream job.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: People pwn the ball as hard as possible at you.
- 51:01SPEAKER_01: Occasionally you can't shut your legs in time, and then you just cop the shit for that.
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: It's it's uh yeah, Pano, we we don't have a we've got a nice culture at the moment in terms of apparently don't mind me saying that you you can see the world through the legs the other night.
- 51:15SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 51:15SPEAKER_01: Straight after the game, Sloan comes in and it's like just don't learn to shut your fucking legs off.
- 51:21SPEAKER_03: Can you tell ours as well?
- 51:24SPEAKER_01: Oh it's a podcast, right?
- 51:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay, no.
- 51:30SPEAKER_04: I think uh I think you know you're in a good spot though if people are happy to take the pass.
- 51:35SPEAKER_04: I think it once people start being like scared to uh to like make a joke, then you know you're uh people actually think you're being shit.
- 51:40SPEAKER_06: Yeah, you see Brendan, we we actually love you.
- 51:45SPEAKER_06: But I do I do think like one thing I wanna like Bible always makes the joke uh because we said, yeah, you're a goalie, you're supposed to get hit, so if we hit it like from the from the bounty spot as hard as we can, that's your job.
- 51:55SPEAKER_06: And he he's always his rebuttal is uh rebuttal?
- 52:00SPEAKER_06: Rebuttal.
- 52:00SPEAKER_06: Rebuttal?
- 52:01SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 52:01SPEAKER_06: I sometimes surprised myself how well my English is.
- 52:03SPEAKER_06: I never heard that word before.
- 52:06SPEAKER_06: Like the counter, yeah.
- 52:08SPEAKER_06: Look it up.
- 52:10SPEAKER_03: Now I'm confused, what do you want to say?
- 52:11SPEAKER_06: But you always said, well, we hit us.
- 52:13SPEAKER_06: He said, yeah, okay, but when you're at the second post, don't my don't don't yell at me when I leave my stick open when I get a touch.
- 52:18SPEAKER_06: Right?
- 52:19SPEAKER_03: That's the most nicest exercise we can do when you are at the second post and Yelle Kalema is hitting a ball in front of the goal.
- 52:25SPEAKER_03: And then open your plate.
- 52:26SPEAKER_03: Only just to tease you.
- 52:28SPEAKER_03: Who's the worst?
- 52:28SPEAKER_06: Who's the worst for you guys?
- 52:30SPEAKER_06: Is it is it like for you?
- 52:31SPEAKER_06: I know for you it's Yelle Galema because he hits it like really really hard but doesn't know how to aim.
- 52:35SPEAKER_06: So there's a 50% chance it will end up in your nuts.
- 52:38SPEAKER_06: Who's your like worst?
- 52:40SPEAKER_06: Someone who doesn't hold back just hits it as hard as he can from wherever he hits it.
- 52:45SPEAKER_06: Like baseline enters and he and there's no no no no room but still.
- 52:50SPEAKER_04: Wardy.
- 52:50SPEAKER_04: Wardie's got it in him, but he's starting to be a little bit nicer.
- 52:54SPEAKER_04: Uh like uh Dark Horse is Buoy.
- 52:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 52:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he uh the new lads, uh debutant.
- 53:01SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 53:02SPEAKER_04: He's started teeing up volleys and he's got me basically once a training session recently.
- 53:07SPEAKER_04: And yeah.
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: You've started losing yourself actually, it's a really nice place to be.
- 53:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, honestly, uh Bowie, like what's going on, and just in Warger.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: He loves he loves like I think what he loves is like not even it's like a rebound corner, and it drops the pound spot on the half volley, and you just see paying and go, oh for fuck's sake.
- 53:27SPEAKER_04: Just slowly get into some kind of turtle shell.
- 53:31SPEAKER_04: And and it's always in the warm-up before a game as well.
- 53:35SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, that kind of players.
- 53:36SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:37SPEAKER_06: Well, he got he got knocked out.
- 53:39SPEAKER_06: Uh we had a game against Amsterdam, and uh the Amsterdam also the weirdest fucking thing, they they were late.
- 53:46SPEAKER_06: So the game had to be uh pushed back, and we were like, yeah, it's not our problem, they are late, but okay, so we did an extended warm-up.
- 53:53SPEAKER_03: One extra exercise because they are late.
- 53:55SPEAKER_06: One extra exercise, and they were like, Okay, let's hit a couple shots and go, and then yell a double double like uh tease it up like three times, hits it, and Pim is just a little bit late with his glove, hits it on the helmet, out for the rest of the season.
- 54:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:08SPEAKER_03: And you know what he says?
- 54:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was a good hit, but uh yeah, I thought you can react a bit.
- 54:15SPEAKER_00: That's a real thing.
- 54:16SPEAKER_03: You can also ask if I'm okay, you know?
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, not in the wounds.
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: Just get that left-handed across a bit.
- 54:22SPEAKER_03: They had to wake me up for five weeks every hour almost.
- 54:27SPEAKER_04: That that must be the most annoying thing when people who aren't goalkeepers give you guys like suggestions for how to say this he started doing it more and more.
- 54:37SPEAKER_04: Roper.
- 54:38SPEAKER_04: Okay, cool.
- 54:41SPEAKER_04: Put your hands up a little bit there, Ollie.
- 54:43SPEAKER_04: And if you just moved it there, you would fucking saved it.
- 54:45SPEAKER_04: Brilliant once?
- 54:46SPEAKER_04: Yes, you have.
- 54:47SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, well, if you get your hands up.
- 54:49SPEAKER_01: Well, am I taking the piss?
- 54:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you are taking the piss.
- 54:52SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'm not being genuine then.
- 54:53SPEAKER_04: No, no, but it's still.
- 54:54SPEAKER_04: Which one's more annoying?
- 54:55SPEAKER_04: Somebody who's taking the piss or somebody who's being genuine.
- 54:58SPEAKER_04: If he's got a stupid grin on his face, it's taking the piss.
- 55:03SPEAKER_06: I do agree with the stupid grin on his face.
- 55:05SPEAKER_06: I know I like the piss.
- 55:06SPEAKER_03: But is he then shooting with his forehand or back end?
- 55:08SPEAKER_03: Because remember his forehand was on the way down.
- 55:15SPEAKER_04: It's backhand's good.
- 55:17SPEAKER_06: He almost hit me.
- 55:18SPEAKER_06: You fuck face.
- 55:19SPEAKER_06: That was a good save.
- 55:20SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that was a good save.
- 55:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm feeling a straight hit.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: Gay shot.
- 55:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, off the top.
- 55:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I got some stick from the coaches last night.
- 55:28SPEAKER_01: It's like, if if if Phil's having an Argent uh shot, oh can I say this or not?
- 55:32SPEAKER_01: I'll be oh yeah.
- 55:33SPEAKER_01: If if if Phil's having a shot from the top of the D and the Argentinians are scared, then it's a really good sign for us.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: And it's in the middle of the meeting, and I'm just stood there being like, what the fuck is that?
- 55:43SPEAKER_01: Why you gotta do me like that?
- 55:44SPEAKER_01: You work a little bit of this.
- 55:45SPEAKER_03: Well you're still happy with the coaches.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: No, I I I have a like when you're in a bad mood or something, like my the way to get out of it is to try and poke fun at Maz and Ollie.
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: Like it's a nice, like, fun game of like if you can get them send the wrong way or score a Dibbly Dobler, like it's a nice place to be.
- 56:07SPEAKER_01: But Ollie started taking it worse and worse.
- 56:09SPEAKER_03: I hate always when players try to send you the wrong way because they take a lot of time, and in a game they never have time to uh send you the right.
- 56:17SPEAKER_03: Then do it in a game as well.
- 56:19SPEAKER_06: I feel like it's really really nice that every time one of the two speaks, the other one is like really nice.
- 56:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because we are family, you know?
- 56:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you tell them, Pim.
- 56:35SPEAKER_01: And have you got any more in the expected?
- 56:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: Well, I'll I'll we'll end it there.
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: Thank you both.
- 56:43SPEAKER_01: Uh we probably haven't got enough, uh got this across enough, but we have we've been lucky enough that two of the best goals in the world have agreed to come on our lowly podcast, so thank you very much.
- 56:52SPEAKER_01: Like it's been it's been awesome and we've laughed uh laughed a lot, so thank you.
- 56:56SPEAKER_01: But please um if you're listening, go online, fucking press vote on one of their names, because we want to see them, we want to see him win.
- 57:04SPEAKER_06: Are you voting on each other or on yourselves?
- 57:07SPEAKER_06: I think if I can make a prediction, I think you would you would be the one to vote on him, and he would say, Yeah, yeah, sure.
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: Do you know he's like Charter?
- 57:19SPEAKER_04: I was gonna ask actually, have you voted?
- 57:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:22SPEAKER_04: You have.
- 57:23SPEAKER_04: I can't bring myself to do that.
- 57:25SPEAKER_04: I got to sign up, I went to like make an account.
- 57:28SPEAKER_04: I was like, I can't fucking do that.
- 57:30SPEAKER_03: I want to hear you in three years when you have been nominated three times and maybe you get fucked twice.
- 57:38SPEAKER_03: Don't talk about Euros or something.
- 57:45SPEAKER_03: I I sent a message to Russia and they're joining me fully on the heck, so uh yeah, I'll win it.
- 57:50SPEAKER_03: Or just a cut where we need.
- 57:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Indian doesn't support me, so right.
- 58:00SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Felvin.
- 58:02SPEAKER_01: Cheers all the way.
