- 0:00Time. Now we're back to the basics and healthcare with Balance Life Chiropractic,
- 0:03and we have doctor Harley joining us. I doing Doctor Harley. Hey,
- 0:06John, I am doing fantastic. You know, the weather is getting nicer,
- 0:11spring feels like it's finally here's Yeah, we're officially halfway through spring.
- 0:15Mayday I just discovered was the halfway point. So Monday was the halfway point.
- 0:19We're halfway to summer already. It seems like springs hardly started, I
- 0:23know, but it's it is getting nice out and this is a good time
- 0:25to spend time outside. But when you're outside you're enjoying the outdoors, there
- 0:29are some things that can kind of come up that maybe cause a little issues
- 0:32with health, aren't there. Yeah, So one thing I want to talk
- 0:35about, you know, as the weather is getting nice, or we're starting
- 0:37to think spring cleaning projects, get the outside all nice, gardening, all
- 0:43those things, so people are going to start getting out more. And if
- 0:47we spend all this long winter inside and we really haven't been doing a whole
- 0:50lot, you know, because the weather has been kind of crappy so far.
- 0:52This springs again just haven't been as active. Yeah, take it easy.
- 0:57You know, all that hunching over and doing stuff, you're gonna go,
- 0:59oh oh, my back. Right. You know, we might be
- 1:00a little late with the gardening planting stuff, but you know it'll be fine.
- 1:04You'll get there. Don't try to rush it and get all done in
- 1:07one weekend and you're hurting yourself the next couple of days. You know,
- 1:11the biggest thing is, like, it's still exercise, so make sure you're
- 1:15stretching, getting ready for that, drinking lots of water, et a good
- 1:19meal before and after, taking care of yourself so that way your garden doesn't
- 1:23end up becoming a chore. It can still be that hobby, the fun
- 1:27thing that you like doing. And I suppose some people deal with allergies,
- 1:30which we've talked about a lot, but that's another thing that if you're outside
- 1:34a lot more, if that is something that you deal with, it that's
- 1:36going to be flaring up a little bit more as well. Yeah, I've
- 1:38been seeing a lot that in this wind lately has been really kicking up the
- 1:42dust. Oh yeah, yeah, So make sure that you're taking precautions.
- 1:47You know, allergies are going to cause a lot more inflammation in your body,
- 1:49so it's gonna be a lot easier to potentially hurt yourself, especially if
- 1:53you're overdoing it. That's why I say, really make sure you're taking the
- 1:56time to plan out what you're gonna do, taking breaks, drinking water,
- 2:00stretching, and if you do end up hurting yourself, make sure you're doing
- 2:05something about it. Don't just wait. Yeah, So I've been seeing a
- 2:07lot of people in our office for a lot of flare ups, you know,
- 2:10twists turns that they were doing or they woke up you know, didn't
- 2:15realize what they did yesterday how it's feeling. So if you're one of those
- 2:17people that you know, you were working hard over the weekend and you wake
- 2:21up Monday morning and you're like, oh man, I'm really sore or I
- 2:23should do something, don't wait till Friday, you know, start looking at
- 2:28earlier in the week or sooner rather than later, because the things you have
- 2:30going on now, you know, the underlying issues are still going to be
- 2:34there even if the pain slowly goes away, because all it's going to take
- 2:38is doing the exact same thing again for it to come back. So,
- 2:42you know, seeing a chiropractor we can help make sure we're getting to like
- 2:45the underlying cause why this stuff is happening to help you have a better,
- 2:49happier spring and gardening season. It makes a big difference as well. And
- 2:52now I can never remember, but I know you've got a way for us
- 2:54to remember when we're supposed to use ice and we're supposed to use heat,
- 2:59because that's something if somebody does kind of pull a muscle or hurt themselves when
- 3:02they're you know, raking their yard or getting things ready, how do they
- 3:06know which one to do if it's ice or if it's heat. If you're
- 3:07feeling like a key height, you know that's going to feel more muscular,
- 3:12that's a meal, more type muscles, So using heat for that. If
- 3:15it's kind of sharp, stabby throbby kind of pain, they're more likely joint
- 3:21it's inflamed. Using ice to help calm that down. Nice. We're kind
- 3:24of a good way of looking at it. Very good. And if somebody
- 3:28maybe would like to stop and see you and make a chiropractic part of their
- 3:31health plan, how do they get a hold of here at Balanced Life Chiropractic
