- 0:00SPEAKER_00: We think Botswana is gonna launch probably Q1 of 2026.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: We're actively working with the Botswana government to make it a reality sooner than later, but Q1 2026 is realistic.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Will the program have registered agents?
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: We are working right now on the process on refining who's gonna be the point of contact with the clients.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: And yes, there will be agents that will be having a license, the same way as Sao Tomai, to be able to market the program and then to process it as well.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: The processing time we're expecting about 60 days, but then again, it's in talks right now.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: We're trying to make it as efficient and as fast as possible, and we're doing a diligent process in a way that it becomes seamless and we want to rival one of the fastest programs, if not the fastest.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: The investment option right now is a donation.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: We are considering all options, but at the beginning, it's going to be a straightforward donation.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: We want to make it a minimal value proposition to make sure that clients do not get confused.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: They're already acquainted with the donation process, but it is not off the table in the future to have other ways of investment.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Recently, we have published numbers that were about 464 people that showed interest, and that number is growing by the day, almost on an hourly basis.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: We're 600 plus from the last time we published these numbers a few days ago.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And we expect the interest to continue growing for the next few months.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: The biometrics have not been determined yet.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Right now, the milestone that we're looking for is in November for the citizenship law to be amended, for Botswana to allow dual citizenship fully.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: And after that, the due diligence process is still being talked about.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: We haven't determined exactly where it will be conducted and by who, but we are in an active process.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Why Botswana and on a greater scale, why Africa?
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Right now, I think what clients are looking for is hedging their bet.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: You know, they're not looking for guarantees, but just looking for options.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: And a lot of people are looking in five, ten, twenty years, regardless of whether there's instability in their original country or not.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: I think these kind of products are going to become a little bit more mainstream and will be positioned almost as an asset and business expansion.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Someone from the United States that would like to do business in Africa or in a certain region in Africa, it's a way to commit to the continent and to the country of Botswana to be able to further their ties with the country and do proper business in the region.
