Transcript
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hallelujah, this beautiful morning, I want to say that we all reach points in our life when we talk to God in our own way, the way that we know best, and it may be, you know, owing to a bucket list that we probably want, maybe what something like I was I would like to call as a general catch up that we are having with God, maybe sometimes a conversation about a particular situation, or maybe even a disagreement about something, and maybe some of you are at a point where you have a deeper relationship with God and it's part of your regular routine for you to converse with Him and praise God for that.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Maybe some of you are at a point where you're desperately seeking Him, looking for Him in the situation that you are in, maybe situations that take you to difficult points in life, and you want Him to come in there and step into the situation.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And we all have times where we, as I said, talk to God in our own ways and we communicate with Him and, yes, times when we get down and pray, as I said, when we need His intervention and there's nothing else that you can depend on with Him.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And this beautiful day, I want to tell you about praying and praying to our Father.
- 2:17Speaker 1: And you know, when I was younger, I always wanted to know how to pray to God.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I'm sure some of you also thought that at some time and you probably thought how am I supposed to pray to God?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Or you don't know how to pray, or you did not know how to pray, and what are the right words that I use when I'm talking to God?
- 2:49Speaker 1: He's God and what is the right lingo one.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Is there a particular time in the day when he listens to me, or is he even listening to me?
- 3:06Speaker 1: All those kind of things.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And there are times when we all need prayer, and prayer is your personal time, your me time with your father.
- 3:25Speaker 1: And today, through the word of God, I'm going to tell you about prayer and praying to God and the importance, the significance of praying to the Most High.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And I want to tell you get straight into it.
- 3:44Speaker 1: There is this time when Jesus always has crowds following Him, and that is this time that he goes up to a mountain and he starts teaching the crowds from the mountain, because he always had crowds around Him, and he goes up.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You know, picture it that he goes up to a higher place and now he can talk to the entire crowd and he's talking to them about many things, about ways of life, how to live, giving them solutions and how to lead their life on this planet.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And I'm going to tell you this morning what Jesus talks about when he talks about praying, and it's from the work of Matthew, the sixth chapter, the ninth verse onwards.
- 4:32Speaker 1: He says pray then in this way, our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom, come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors, and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Amen, hallelujah.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And, as I said, he's on the mountain and he's talking to the crowds about multiple things, about how to live their life on this planet and what they should be doing.
- 5:20Speaker 1: As we all know, jesus came to preach the good news, which is telling people about the kingdom of God, and it so happens he talks about praying at this time and then he tells the crowds pray then.
- 5:36Speaker 1: In this way, you know, you can go to your Bible, Matthew, the sixth chapter, the ninth verse onwards, and you can mark this out, it's from 9 to 13.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And it's so beautiful and so simple and I remember saying this prayer every day while I was in school, you know, just before we started our school day, sometimes in the school assemblies, sometimes over the intercom systems, but we used to say this prayer every day and I want to tell you today that when you just want to connect with God, you're somebody who doesn't communicate with God.
- 6:19Speaker 1: You're just going on with your life and you think today you want to make that change.
- 6:23Speaker 1: You want to make that decision to start communicating with God and praying to God.
- 6:28Speaker 1: You can start with this prayer.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It's the prayer that Jesus has given us.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Pray in this way is what he says, and that's why I'm telling you.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It's from Matthew, the sixth chapter, the ninth verse onwards, and, as I said, it's the prayer that Jesus has given us, straight up, word to word.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You can never go wrong with it.
- 6:52Speaker 1: So maybe you just want to start a prayer life with God and start with the, our Father, and make a decision this morning or this day to start praying to God, communicating with Him.
- 7:13Speaker 1: There is this time when Jesus is with his disciples and he enters Jerusalem.
- 7:16Speaker 1: The Bible says Jesus was just going from one place to the other preaching the kingdom of God and the good news, and he had the disciples his entourage with him everywhere and crowds and crowds of people following him everywhere Because he was healing all kinds of diseases the Bible says all kinds.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Leave aside the paralytics that were getting up and the blind that were seeing and all of that.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And the Bible says that he is with his disciples and he enters Jerusalem and the Bible says he becomes hungry.
- 7:51Speaker 1: So he sees a fig tree in the distance and he went close to it to see if perhaps it would have some fruit on it, basically to see if it had figs on it.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And when he came close, the Bible says he saw the tree had nothing on it.
- 8:10Speaker 1: In fact the Bible even says it was not the season for figs, but nevertheless that's a topic for another day.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And he said to it.
- 8:22Speaker 1: He said to the tree may no one ever eat fruit from you again.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And his disciples were standing there and listening to the Bible says.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And it says the next morning, when they were passing by that same way again they see the fig tree and that it was withered from roots up.
- 8:42Speaker 1: And Peter tells Jesus look, rabbi, the fig tree which you cursed has withered.
- 8:49Speaker 1: And listen to Jesus' response to what Peter says to him.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Mark the 11th chapter, the 22nd verse onwards.
- 8:59Speaker 1: It says and Jesus answered, saying to them because of course Peter might have been the one who asked the question, but his entire disciples must have been with him and Jesus answered, saying to them have faith in God.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain be taken up and cast into the sea and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Therefore, I say to you all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them and they will be granted you.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Oh hallelujah, whenever you stand praying forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father, who is in heaven, will also forgive you your transgressions.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Oh hallelujah, beautiful.
- 10:02Speaker 1: So Jesus cursed the fig tree and the next day they are walking past the fig tree and they see now it is withered, which means dried up from root up.
- 10:09Speaker 1: And you will say, oh, but that's Jesus.
- 10:12Speaker 1: No, but Peter asked Jesus the question and he answers to all his disciples and he tells them.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And he's made it so simple.
- 10:24Speaker 1: It is just so simple and you need to believe that this morning.
- 10:28Speaker 1: It is simple because that's the way Jesus explained it and he said have unwavering faith in God when you pray to him, that you should have no doubt, to the point that you can tell a mountain to be removed from where it is and to be moved into the sea.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And do not doubt it and it will be done.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Oh, hallelujah.
- 10:59Speaker 1: And this beautiful morning, I'm here to tell you it's not my words, it's the words of Jesus.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I think it was a matter of chance that he picked the mountain.
- 11:05Speaker 1: No, he picked the mountain because he knows it's one of the most impossible things to even fathom according to our minds, our worldly wisdom.
- 11:13Speaker 1: And that's why he says if you tell the mountain to move from here to there, it will have no doubt or beautiful.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Therefore, whatever you pray and ask for from God, believe that you have already received it and you shall receive it.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And you say, oh, it's impossible, it cannot happen this way, it cannot be this simple.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Oh, but it is the simple In the words of Jesus.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Believe without doubt and you shall have it and you cannot miss the end.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Oh, do not miss the end.
- 11:51Speaker 1: You know, this is where, as the saying goes, this is where the cookie crumbles.
- 11:57Speaker 1: You cannot take the blessings of God without reading what it says about what you're supposed to do.
- 12:03Speaker 1: And it says here very categorically you cannot miss the end.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Whenever you stand to pray, forgive.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Whenever you stand to pray, forgive.
- 12:13Speaker 1: If you have anything against anyone, forgive them so that your Father in heaven will forgive you.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It's the words of Jesus, beautiful people, it's not mine, and you cannot ignore it.
- 12:25Speaker 1: So when you stand to pray, believe that you are going to receive it, without a doubt, but when you go to pray, forgive everyone, whatever you might be holding in your heart, let it go.
- 12:37Speaker 1: And then pray to Him to the point where Jesus tells His disciples that you can move a mountain and move it into the sea Just by believing Hallelujah, hallelujah.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And remember, I told you that Jesus was on this mountain and he's talking to the crowds.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And it's the same time, when he's on the mountain talking to the crowds, he says to them and this is from Matthew 6, chapter, the fifth and sixth verse when you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in synagogues and in the street corners so that they may be seen by men.
- 13:23Speaker 1: But truly, I say to you, they have their reward in full.
- 13:27Speaker 1: But you and this is for everyone here this morning paying attention when you pray oh, he's telling you how to pray this morning.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Beautiful, go into your room the Bible says inner room but you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father, who is in secret, and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you openly.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Oh, hallelujah, this is beautiful.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And just as the secret was in the last scripture at the end, in this one it's in the beginning when you pray.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Do not miss it.
- 14:10Speaker 1: You are expected to pray to God, you are expected to have a relationship with God.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I want to ask you this morning which Father you think will not want to have a one-on-one relationship with their child?
- 14:25Speaker 1: Who will not want it?
- 14:26Speaker 1: Which is why Jesus says to the crowds when you pray.
- 14:35Speaker 1: So when you pray, you go to your room, you shut your door, you pray to the Father, and the Father, who sees what you're doing in secret, will reward you openly.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Philippians 4.6 says be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Do not be anxious, and I'll tell you what supplication the Bible says prayer and supplication.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Supplication is humbly and earnestly seeking God, or asking God for something with thanksgiving.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Oh, thank God every morning.
- 15:27Speaker 1: The Bible says His mercies are new every morning.
- 15:30Speaker 1: There are blessings every morning that are new to you, which you probably don't even know of, but they're there.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Each morning you get new blessings from the Most High.
- 15:41Speaker 1: So, whatever your situation might be, just be thankful to the Most High and, with prayer and supplication, make your requests known to Him.
- 15:56Speaker 1: And I want to leave you with this beautiful scripture this morning and this is for someone who has this on their mind and there have been times when you've asked but you did not get the answer.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a realistic question.
- 16:19Speaker 1: No, you don't know.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I've asked, but I did not get my answer, or I did not get the solution.
- 16:26Speaker 1: But I want to tell you something.
- 16:28Speaker 1: The first thing that I want to tell you this morning is the book of Ecclesiastes says there is a season for everything, that is an appointed time and a season for everything under heaven, hallelujah.
- 16:47Speaker 1: And this is something that you need to understand this morning.
- 16:50Speaker 1: So wait for the right time, because God has a plan for you and His word says he has a plan to prosper you and not to harm you and plan with the hope and the future.
- 17:03Speaker 1: And you might not understand why that prayer is not answered, but I want to tell you and, as I said, I will not have the answer to it, I will not have the answer to it, but I can only give you the scriptures that can help you get through that situation, which says there is a season and a point of time for everything under heaven.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And maybe, just maybe, it's not that time, but yet I want to tell you this morning he has a plan for you to prosper you and not to harm you and plan with the hope and the future.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And when you go praying, maybe it's something that you want really bad, but it's not part of His plan.
- 17:51Speaker 1: And that's the only explanation I could give you.
- 17:53Speaker 1: And yet I will leave you with the scripture.
- 18:00Speaker 1: As I said, it's beautiful morning, matthew 7.
- 18:05Speaker 1: The seventh verse onward says and this I'm reading from the amplified version and you mark it down and it says Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Seek and keep on seeking and you will find.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.
- 18:23Speaker 1: For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds.
- 18:29Speaker 1: And to him who keeps on knocking it will be opened, oh hallelujah.
- 18:34Speaker 1: So if you think your prayer has not been answered, oh, here is your answer this beautiful morning.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Here is your answer this beautiful morning, through the word of the Most High and, mind you, the Bible says I am watching over my word to perform it.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Oh hallelujah, ask and keep on asking.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Oh, don't just get up one day and make a bucket list and, you know, sit in the room and close the door and pray and say Get it the next day.
- 19:03Speaker 1: That is not how it works.
- 19:12Speaker 1: But, through the word of God, I want to tell you this morning ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking.
- 19:20Speaker 1: And the Bible says ask and keep on asking and it will be given.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Oh hallelujah, seek and keep on seeking and you will find.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Knock and keep on knocking and the door will be open to you.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Oh amen, for everyone who keeps on asking receives.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Here it is, it's the word of God Everyone who keeps on asking receives.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Relentlessly ask, you will receive.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Amen, in the name of Jesus, and those who keep on seeking will find, and those who keep on knocking it will be opened.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Dear Lord, thank you for this beautiful, beautiful day.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I thank you for this beautiful word.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I thank you for your double-edged sword that does not go back until it has achieved what it has been set out for.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Lord, this beautiful morning, I thank you, lord, that you've touched people's heart, that they will have a new prayer life with you, lord, and this morning I stand in prayer, lord, for everyone here and whatever the situation might be, that you'll fill us with your wisdom more and more each day, that we may have a deeper relationship with you, lord, and right now, for someone here I pray, lord, I'll line to your word from Psalm 91, lord, your word says a thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Lord, you will look with your eyes and you will see the destruction of the wicked, but it will not come near you and believe this this morning.
- 20:54Speaker 1: This is for somebody here.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Believe it this morning.
- 20:57Speaker 1: He will cover you with his pinions and under his wings you will get refuge.
- 21:03Speaker 1: His faithfulness is your shield and your buckler.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Hallelujah, thank you for this beautiful time.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Lord, thank you for your presence that's on this platform that's filled people's homes and Jesus in you.
- 21:18Speaker 1: My prayer amen.
