- 0:00Welcome back to the Twin History Podcast.
- 0:02Well before the murders happened, he was an American
- 0:05football legend. So you're saying welcome back,
- 0:07and that's presuming that we still have listeners after the
- 0:10first episodes? We won't pretend to know
- 0:12anything about American football or we had any listeners to begin
- 0:16with. He was a movie star.
- 0:18It's just like talking in an echo chamber.
- 0:20It definitely is. We have to remember OJ started
- 0:23his football career in the 60s. So even though we're out of
- 0:27segregation, there's still huge tensions in America between
- 0:32blacks and whites. And OJ crossed that line and
- 0:36became a star with white America.
- 0:38She. Went over to O JS Grief in
- 0:41Arlington. I remember one of the OJ jurors
- 0:43said that she didn't have respect for Nicole because she
- 0:47stayed there and what was her words like?
- 0:50She's got her ass worked. Which is just an absolutely
- 0:53despicable comment. And, well, he wasn't dead yet.
- 0:56And I'm sure when he died last year, no one was petitioning to
- 1:00put OJ in Arlington Cemetery. But they found that glove soaked
- 1:04in blood. And OJ comes spelling out, like
- 1:07in a movie or something. You open the door and.
- 1:10He falls. Onto the concrete and firm is
- 1:13like, Oh no, it's OJ and Robert Shapiro who was already
- 1:17involved, F Lee Bailey who was like a famous lawyer from the
- 1:2170s. Well, not from the 70s.
- 1:23F Lee Bailey defended Sam Shepard.
- 1:25Who? Was the basis of the fugitive?
- 1:28Oh, but I I don't know that the lead lawyer in the case was
- 1:31Johnny Cochran, who was a famous black lawyer.
- 1:34Maybe he sat on that side of the table the year before he
- 1:38defended Michael Jackson. Another innocent black man
- 1:41railroaded by the LAPD. He'd flown to Chicago to do
- 1:45something for Hertz. Where's he going to go?
- 1:48Tom did it hurts have this man under contract.
- 1:50They could have like run him off the road.
- 1:52They could have what is caught up.
- 1:54I mean, yeah, you don't want them to light the car up.
- 1:56This guy, by this point, is the most infamous guy on the planet.
