- 0:01Today's a historic day in the world of gold and silver.
- 0:05Most of us don't like how it feels, but we need to take a big
- 0:08deep breath because I believe everything is just fine.
- 0:12This is actually to be expected. We're going to talk about the
- 0:16three reasons why we're having this really historic volatility
- 0:22in the gold and silver price. And I'll share with you why I
- 0:25believe we are still in for a continued historic rally when it
- 0:30comes to the precious metals. So thank you for joining me
- 0:34today. We'll be here in the good times.
- 0:36We'll be here on the days where there's a little bit, or in
- 0:40today's case, a lot of red on the screen.
- 0:43We said this for years together, guys, we would navigate the
- 0:47choppy waters of precious metals.
- 0:49So please subscribe to the channel, give the video a thumbs
- 0:52up. Super chats never expected,
- 0:54always super appreciated. What really matters is that
- 0:57you're here, that we believe in gold and silver and that we can
- 1:01navigate this together. So there's three big reasons why
- 1:05this occurred. Let's start with number one.
- 1:07It was our good, not a political statement, but it was Donald
- 1:10Trump's. I believe it was in the middle
- 1:13of the night, excuse me here, announcement that we have a new
- 1:19Federal Reserve or he is a nominee for the Federal Reserve.
- 1:22Kevin Wash That was a a surprise to the market because he's
- 1:27viewed as being someone a little more conservative when it comes
- 1:31to monetary policy. And every we talked about this
- 1:34yesterday. Trump is saying he wants 1%
- 1:37rates. the Fed has been resisting on that.
- 1:40Everyone thought that he would nominate someone who would be
- 1:43very dovish. And this guy still may be
- 1:46dovish. I'm sure they're having private
- 1:48discussions amongst President Trump and and Mr. Wash himself.
- 1:52But there's something very interesting.
- 1:55We aren't, we don't pay as much attention to the Fed anymore
- 1:58anyway. And that'll feed into something
- 2:00we're going to talk about a little bit later about why we
- 2:03can remain so optimistic about gold and silver.
- 2:06Trust me, guys, just my opinion. I'm not a financial advisor.
- 2:09Like I always say, these things are volatile.
- 2:12Please be responsible. But I believe, and it's my
- 2:16basement, it's our basement, I believe that we're going to be
- 2:19just fine. But there's something very, very
- 2:21interesting about this Wash guy that I'm not hearing anybody
- 2:25else talk about, right? We like to analyze things a
- 2:29little bit deeper down here in the basement.
- 2:31If you dig into his history, he was at the Fed already, and he
- 2:35was known as somebody who came in right after the great
- 2:38financial crisis. And he was instrumental in
- 2:42developing like, remember the TARP program that I forget what
- 2:46it stood for, but it was one of the bailout programs that
- 2:49occurred after the great financial crisis.
- 2:52So if we put two and two together, if we connect some
- 2:55dots, but why do you think President Trump is putting
- 2:58somebody in the Fed who's recognized and has extensive
- 3:02experience in dealing with crisis situations, right?
- 3:07We know things are in a state right now like never ever
- 3:10before. OK, the second reason why, gosh,
- 3:13I hate take triple your blood pressure medicine this morning
- 3:16with me because I hate to have to look at this, but we're going
- 3:19to do it. Guys, close your eyes.
- 3:21If you do not want to look at the at the precious metals
- 3:26charts, let's go out here to silver or we'll go out to CNBC.
- 3:32First, let's just look at the general markets and what we're
- 3:36seeing is wow, the Dow is down 500 points, the S&P down 50,
- 3:42NASDAQ. So everything is red today, but
- 3:44let's go to silver and take a look at what's happening there.
- 3:50Because it is not perty down $22.19.
- 3:55I thought there were circuit Breakers.
- 3:57They only put the circuit Breakers on when the price is
- 3:59going up apparently. But down $22.00, down 19%.
- 4:04No doubt. Absolutely painful.
- 4:07But here's the other reason why this has happened.
- 4:10We talk about it all the time when we look at a one year chart
- 4:14of silver, right? It was a nice steady growth.
- 4:18We started accelerating and then right about here, we really did
- 4:22shoot up, right? We had a pretty rapid ascent in
- 4:26the price and we talked about this many, many times, OK, So
- 4:30this, I'd say this period up to about where we are right now,
- 4:33right around the $92.00, there was some consolidation that went
- 4:37on and then we really, really shot up.
- 4:40Let's look at a shorter term chart.
- 4:42I think it'll be a little more clear.
- 4:45Oh no, a longer term chart. Let's go all the way out to five
- 4:48years. Yeah, see on the five year
- 4:50chart. Man, this this last.
- 4:52Let me let me get the the crayons out.
- 4:55This last little period right here really was a spike up
- 5:00right? Like a bit of a mania.
- 5:01OK, let's be real about things and what like we said every time
- 5:06a spike in the price, like we showed right there, that's what
- 5:10happened back in 1980, That's what happened back in 2011.
- 5:14That's what when it happens in anything, any a stock, a
- 5:17commodity, real estate, when there's a sudden spike up, you
- 5:21know, it's very hard to time it right.
- 5:23Like I'm sure, yeah, we wish we all gotten rid of silver up at
- 5:26that point or mining stocks. But whenever there's a spike up
- 5:30like that, you get rid of that, there's always a spike down, OK?
- 5:34So that's what's happening. Look, the reality is this
- 5:38volatility, especially with silver is part of the game,
- 5:42right? They call it the widow maker in
- 5:44the past. And we talked and we also talked
- 5:46about this many, many times, right, that if we could
- 5:50consolidate, we were hoping we would consolidate above 100.
- 5:54We talked about the odds of that maybe being 15 or 20% if we
- 5:58consolidate with the silver price, OK.
- 6:01And I'm going to tell you something very powerful here in
- 6:04a second. But if we can consolidate now in
- 6:07the 90 range, in the 80 range, and don't get mad at me, but
- 6:11even in the $70 per oz range, we build a base of strong of, of,
- 6:17of strong handed holders of silver.
- 6:21And we got to look at the big picture, OK, from 2
- 6:23perspectives, 2 perspectives #1 we're going to go back to this
- 6:27chart, guys. And look, I know today is no
- 6:31fun. However, this that's a five year
- 6:34chart. I'm going to pull up a one year
- 6:36chart of silver. If we go back, oh here I'm going
- 6:40to get that off so we can see what the price was.
- 6:42We'll go back one year ago today, on January 30th of 2025,
- 6:48we had a silver price of $32 per oz, $32.
- 6:55We are almost three times higher today, OK, So we have to keep
- 7:02that in perspective. You know in one year ago if I
- 7:07told you that we would have taken the blind, we got to talk
- 7:11about Smitty, the silver Bear, if one.
- 7:13Let me look you in the eye. If one year ago today, January
- 7:1830th, 2025, we sat down here in the basement with $32 silver and
- 7:23I had a crystal ball which back then I told you I didn't.
- 7:26I mean, and I told you that we today, one year later today
- 7:30right now is we're together would have $90.00 silver.
- 7:34We would be jumping for joy, OK. And the opportunity that we
- 7:39would be talking about consolidating possibly around
- 7:43$90.00 or $80. Even if I told us, look, if we
- 7:47told each other a year ago today that in 2026 that we could be in
- 7:53a situation where silver could consolidate above $50, we'd be
- 7:57jumping for joy, OK? We would be it, it, it would
- 8:01have been, we would have called into the the January 30th
- 8:04holiday, darn it. OK.
- 8:06But there's another big reason I'm going to share that with you
- 8:08next. But I do want to point out right
- 8:10there, Smitty, you guys know him, right?
- 8:13The blindfolded silver bear, he's getting nervous.
- 8:16We got to help him out, right? His blindfold came off at $85
- 8:20silver. He doesn't want that thing to go
- 8:22back on and we don't want to put it back on.
- 8:25So let's go for that consolidation.
- 8:27But the other big, big factor, nothing has changed.
- 8:32Nothing about silver or gold. We're not.
- 8:36I'm not talking about gold enough today.
- 8:37But nothing has changed, right? The world hasn't suddenly
- 8:40decided to trust each other. Today, nobody announced that
- 8:45they discovered, you know, 6 billion ounces of silver in a
- 8:49giant box buried in the middle of Wyoming or, or some other,
- 8:54you know, Warsaw, Poland, whatever.
- 8:56You know what I'm saying? Nothing has changed.
- 8:57The world did not stop consuming more silver today, right then
- 9:04it's producing. We got this huge silver deficit.
- 9:07The silver mining sector suddenly didn't start producing
- 9:11more silver. We know that's going to take.
- 9:13Phil Phillips Baker from Hecla Mining just told us the earliest
- 9:17that we could see an increase in silver production from miners
- 9:21and it's not going to be huge, would be 20-30, right?
- 9:24the United States. Let's go check.
- 9:26Oh my gosh. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 9:27Maybe our government paid off our national debt.
- 9:31Maybe that's what happened. Let's go take a look and see
- 9:34what what's going on there. Real quickly.
- 9:35We're going to go out to the US debt clock and make sure we got
- 9:39you on the right screen, which we don't now You are on the
- 9:44right screen. Oh, no, here we are. the US debt
- 9:47clock. OK, the US national debt is
- 9:49still 38 trillion, 673 billion. We go over here, right?
- 9:55That's making us. I'm going to draw an arrow here
- 9:57with blue or turquoise, whatever color that is down to our
- 10:01interest on our national debt of almost $1 trillion.
- 10:06Oh, and by the way, we're still running a deficit.
- 10:09Hold on, hold on of $1.7 trillion, OK, right.
- 10:16Cuz that's what the interest feeds into.
- 10:19And that deficit will continue to make our national debt get
- 10:22bigger. Get ready for the spiral because
- 10:25all that feeds into each other and creates this debt spiral.
- 10:29So when we're having days like today, absolute insanity.
- 10:34I just got a couple more things I want to share with you, right.
- 10:37We're going to look at this is unbelievable what is happening
- 10:41in the gold and silver market right now, literally
- 10:44unprecedented in the history of the world.
- 10:47We're going to talk about that next.
- 10:49First though, I do want to say thank you to channel sponsor
- 10:51First Mining Gold. They still have millions of Oz
- 10:55of gold in the ground in Canada. They're a development stage gold
- 10:59mining company, spring pole project in Ontario, Duparquet
- 11:03project in Quebec. Separately, they both have
- 11:05millions of Oz of gold in the ground.
- 11:08You can learn about them at firstmininggold.com and our good
- 11:12friends at First Mint. Hey, Silver's on sale today.
- 11:15If you can get any, go check out First Mint, right?
- 11:19They're owned by First Majestic Silver.
- 11:21It takes so much work to get silver out of the ground, right?
- 11:24People working 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- 11:28First Majestic mines the silver in Mexico, ships it to first
- 11:33meant right there, a silver exclusive meant in the United
- 11:37States, and they transform it into these world class silver
- 11:40bullion products like this one right here.
- 11:43They're Folds of Honor. That's a 10 oz folded American
- 11:46flag. And that benefits the Folds of
- 11:50Honor Foundation, which gives academic scholarships to
- 11:54children and spouses of fallen and deceased members of the
- 11:59military and 1st responder community.
- 12:02You can learn more about them at First mint.com.
- 12:06Let me pull up the websites real quick.
- 12:08Here is first Mining Gold. Yep, hold on here.
- 12:15And here is First Mint, First mint.com.
- 12:20OK, you can check them out. They have a discount code VIPRB.
- 12:24Let's look at how incredible, by the way, that discount code was
- 12:29VIPRB. By the way, thank you for being
- 12:31here in the basement on what really is right.
- 12:34A challenging day for all of us in the precious metals sector.
- 12:38But this is normal. This is is par for the course.
- 12:43Remember, extreme moves are accompanied by extreme
- 12:47volatility and this is historic. Let's go take a look look at
- 12:50some data that really is just at and this is as of yesterday.
- 12:57This is insane from Kobesi, right?
- 12:59Highly respected financial news outlet Gold just posted its
- 13:04largest daily swing in market cap in history, $5.5 trillion
- 13:11with But wait, there's more. OK guys between 9:30 AM and
- 13:1510:10 AM yesterday gold lost 3 trillion in market cap, about
- 13:20almost 60 billion per minute. And then between 10:25 and 4:00
- 13:25PM it it added back 2.3 trillion.
- 13:28That alone is over three times. Oh shoot, I'm frozen.
- 13:34I am frozen. I wonder if they can if let me
- 13:37know if people can see me and OK, am I unfrozen?
- 13:42Hold on a minute, guys. Hold on one second.
- 13:45We're on some tech issues. They're trying to shut us down.
- 13:50Susie, ask in the chat if. Oh, there I am.
- 13:52I'm back. OK, I'm back.
- 13:55I'm OK. I don't know if you guys could
- 13:56hear me or not, but basically gold yesterday was historic.
- 14:00The amount of gold that traded like from a dollar perspective,
- 14:05it was three times the total market cap of Bitcoin and that
- 14:09was before what's happened here in the last about 16 hours.
- 14:14These are historic times. Historic big moves in anything
- 14:20are are accompanied by historic volatility.
- 14:23OK. I remain optimistic about what's
- 14:25going on. This is interesting.
- 14:27And again, this was as of yesterday.
- 14:30Talk about do you think maybe the price is being manipulated?
- 14:33I don't know. Let's go take a look at this
- 14:38little bit of data that came out from TF Metals report and
- 14:43they're telling us. You might be sure to note that
- 14:48nearly all of the selling this week in silver, and again, this
- 14:53was as of yesterday, has occurred during U.S. market
- 14:57hours. Oh, think about that.
- 14:59Isn't that coincidental? All the selling that occurred
- 15:02this week? I wonder about today.
- 15:05I don't even want, I don't even want to want to know what the
- 15:10what the what the CME, how much paper silver.
- 15:13I bet they've traded. I bet they're going to have
- 15:15traded 4 times the, the, the, the annual output of silver in
- 15:20one day in the paper market on the COMEX.
- 15:23I bet they're, I bet they're going to have three, maybe five
- 15:25times, right, Possibly as high as 4 billion paper oz.
- 15:29I digress. What TF Metals is telling us and
- 15:32showing us in this chart is that all the selling this week, and
- 15:36this was before what we're experiencing right now has
- 15:39occurred during U.S. market hours.
- 15:42Sure. I'm sure it's just coincidental,
- 15:44right? The US sells, dumps, digital
- 15:47derivatives, OK, a fantasy island, silver, whatever you
- 15:51want to call it, and paper promises, while the rest of the
- 15:53world buys accumulated physical metal.
- 15:57And there's the chart in full screen.
- 15:58The blue circles show the US market hours.
- 16:02And as we can see here pretty darn clearly, right down, down,
- 16:09down, down. And that's before today, which
- 16:14is like down off the damn screen.
- 16:17And yeah, that's OK to be mad about it, you know?
- 16:20All right, let's go out to China.
- 16:23Let's go out to China and see what's happening there.
- 16:25This was as of the close of the Chinese market this morning.
- 16:34OK, OK, thank you. Upstairs, Susie says there's a
- 16:37question. It says a lot of old gold and
- 16:41silver miner stocks hit their daily limit down in China, so
- 16:44they had a down day in their market.
- 16:47News from major Chinese banks accumulated gold withdrawals and
- 16:51available for sale. Gold bar vaults have been reset
- 16:55to 0. No gold for you.
- 16:58OK, a one month advance booking is now required and no, no
- 17:04guarantee of a specific delivery time.
- 17:07But look at these prices still that we had in China from our
- 17:12friend, right? Hey, you know what, let's go to
- 17:14China and check out the silver price because on uh oh, I don't
- 17:21know what happened there. Hold on, let's go back and try
- 17:24that again, OK, Because on the Shanghai Gold Exchange, again,
- 17:29they do things a little different over there on the
- 17:31Shanghai Gold Exchange, it's a physical market and there's AG,
- 17:36the periodic element symbol for silver, and there's the SGE, the
- 17:41physical silver market in China. Oh, and it closed at 123.
- 17:46OK, almost almost $30 higher than where we closed in the US.
- 17:56Let's go out and see this question.
- 17:58Somebody in the audience has a question and let me check in
- 18:03with upstairs Susie to see if she knows what the question is.
- 18:07Susie, do you know what the question is?
- 18:09Over. I mean, I can read it to you or
- 18:14if you want to put it on your phone.
- 18:17No, I can't see it, honey. I can't go through all the
- 18:19comments and find it. You need to read it to me,
- 18:21please. Oh, OK.
- 18:26I'm sorry. OK.
- 18:27Hold on, guys. I work.
- 18:28Yeah. We, we, Susie and I, we text.
- 18:31We use walkie talkies. We do it all.
- 18:33She tells me there's a question. Hold on here.
- 18:37That she texted to me. The suspense.
- 18:42The suspense from from paradocracy.
- 18:47At no time in history has a marked decline in the in the Dow
- 18:51Jones industrial average to gold ratio reverse course without the
- 18:56American economy first entering an official recession.
- 19:01Any thoughts? At no time in history has the
- 19:03marked decline in the Dow Jones to gold ratio reversed course.
- 19:11Very interesting. OK, So what they're saying is
- 19:15Mark decline and the Dow Jones to gold ratio.
- 19:20Yeah, that's in it. That's a very thanks.
- 19:22Paradocracy. Yeah, there's, that's a very
- 19:24interesting point that because where we are right now with that
- 19:28ratio is, is a, is, is showing us, right, basically what he's
- 19:35saying that we could be heading into a recession.
- 19:39Look, let's talk about that and thank you for that question.
- 19:42And, and, and I'll do some more analysis on that.
- 19:45But let's, let's talk about the prospects of a recession, right?
- 19:49Of them actually admitting we have a recession.
- 19:52If we go into a recession, that will prompt one thing and that
- 19:56will be money printing. OK, Let's take again a look at
- 19:59the big picture of what we have going on with the leadership of
- 20:03our country right now. Donald Trump, not, I'm not
- 20:06making a political statement, but he's all about racking up
- 20:09debt, not just when he was U.S. President, but before that, when
- 20:13he ran businesses. He's even claimed bankruptcy a
- 20:16few times, OK, if we had. And he's talked about he wants
- 20:201% interest rates. OK, he's made that very clear.
- 20:25What are we at now, 3 1/2%? If we head into a recession,
- 20:30there will be no option but for the Federal Reserve, I don't
- 20:34care if it's Jerome Powell or this new guy, Mr. Wishy, Wash,
- 20:37wash, wash in in control. They are going to print money.
- 20:42It's the only thing that they have.
- 20:45It's the only tool that they have left in their toolbox.
- 20:48Unfortunately, because of the US debt clock that we looked at
- 20:52earlier, right, the tool is losing.
- 20:56It worked great. And in 2008, it worked great
- 20:59when the tech bubble. It worked great during COVID-19,
- 21:03but it lost its potency little by little.
- 21:06This is a very powerful cop. That's called kicking the can
- 21:09down the road. And that's what the the Fed has
- 21:12done. That's what our government is
- 21:14done now for decades. First, right, You know, let's,
- 21:18let's, I don't know, let's start with the 2000 tech bubble.
- 21:21They, they, they kicked that can down the road.
- 21:23They didn't really address the underlying issues.
- 21:26Then with the great financial crisis, right?
- 21:29The can went from being a little tin can to being like a coffee
- 21:32can. They were able to kick that can
- 21:34down the road. Then we had the C-19 crisis.
- 21:37At that point, the can became like a 5 gallon bucket.
- 21:41They kicked that can down the road.
- 21:43Now, the can that they're trying to kick, you know, when you go
- 21:46to your local park and they've got those big steel 55 gallon
- 21:50like oil drums they use for trash cans with plastic lids on
- 21:53top, a big giant 55 gallon steel drum, that's what they're trying
- 21:58to kick. You know that that that's what's
- 22:01going to happen down the road. Guys, remember, remember, keep
- 22:06things in perspective. Fundamentally, nothing has
- 22:10changed for gold or silver. Central banks aren't selling
- 22:14their gold right now. OK, the fundamentals, all those
- 22:18we could talk for the next hour. Behind silver, the silver
- 22:21deficit, the declining supply coming from the mining sector,
- 22:25the exploding demand. I've got an article, a great
- 22:29article about the solid-state batteries, right?
- 22:32That really is happening. It's an article that's not from
- 22:35a silver company. It's from a, a company that is
- 22:38in into the EV sector and they're talking about how much
- 22:41silver is critical to these new solid-state batteries.
- 22:45Nothing has changed the, the, the, the supply chain.
- 22:50That's what's going on with silver.
- 22:51Sorry, I need to tell you that silver is so screwed up right
- 22:55here in the United States with the wholesalers, the refiners,
- 22:58the giant discrepancy between what silver is being priced at
- 23:04in the West on the paper make believe markets versus the real
- 23:08physical markets in Asia, right. We know what's happening in
- 23:12Singapore think a bullion star. They put out another post this
- 23:16morning, right that that like sales are through the roof,
- 23:20right. I mean, it's, it's, there's
- 23:21nothing fundamentally that has changed The gold market is, is,
- 23:26and we, I won't go too deep into this, but just the basics of
- 23:31what's going on in the gold market is like, because things
- 23:34have gotten so out of control that the volume of people being
- 23:37able to even speculate in the gold market has gone down.
- 23:40And that's leading to these crazy, crazy, crazy price
- 23:43action. But let's also not lose sight.
- 23:48So important like we looked at earlier, one year ago, silver
- 23:52was at $32. Today we're around 90 right now,
- 23:56almost three times higher, right?
- 23:59What are you going to do? I mean, look, I'm not a
- 24:01financial advisor, so I'm not, but what are you going to do
- 24:04with your money? Are you going to put your money
- 24:05into the stock market and the real estate?
- 24:08Are you going to put your money into the bond market, right?
- 24:11Or you are you going to put your money in the bank?
- 24:13You have to ask yourself that question.
- 24:15You know, when people are talking about, oh, you know, I
- 24:17mean, what are what are the available options that give us a
- 24:21sense of safety and security? Please subscribe to the channel.
- 24:26We will continue to navigate, but right now are some pretty
- 24:30choppy waters in the gold and silver world.
- 24:33Will do it together. My personal opinion, my belief
- 24:37is not shaken at all about gold and silver.
- 24:42Think about 10 years from now, all right?
- 24:44We're talking about one year ago, but think about 10 years
- 24:48from now. And when you think about that,
- 24:50when you do your own analysis, listen to me, listen to other
- 24:53people, right? But personally, I feel really,
- 24:56really good about where the precious metals are heading,
- 25:00even copper is heading. I mean, guys, I think it's the
- 25:03place to be. I'm glad you decided that the
- 25:06place to be was the basement with me today, right?
- 25:09Basement dwellers, we're a tight knit community.
- 25:12We know what's happening right now, right, is challenging and
- 25:16volatile, but we're going to keep right.
- 25:18We're going to look. We're not just going to look
- 25:19around the corner, right? Look, I got a print out over
- 25:24here from Google. You.
- 25:26According to Google, the audience of Ron's basement are
- 25:29highly sophisticated. And it all joking aside, it's
- 25:34true. The people that watch this
- 25:36channel, advertisers pay big, big, big money to Google and
- 25:40YouTube to advertise to you because you're smart and they
- 25:44know that, OK, You don't just look around 1 corner, you look
- 25:47around two corners. And when we look around those
- 25:51two corners together and we think about precious metals, I
- 25:55think that we know that we're in the right place.
- 25:58Again, thanks for being here. Thanks for joining me in the
- 26:00basement. I really hope you choose to come
- 26:02back. Your time is valuable.
- 26:04You're important. Be good to yourself.
- 26:06I'll see you. Yes, you next time.
