- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville jackwars fans welcome in to do vault daily presented by Jen Jack dot com and fueled by brass tax coffee best coffee in town Right now jackwars many camp practice number two is what we're talking about recapping it Everything that I saw out there today a little bit of a stormy late morning here in Duval County, but
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Wars were able to make it through practice, fans were out there and drove, it was a really impressive showing from the fans just in numbers and in energy.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: It was pretty cool to see.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: Haven't seen that yet this off season.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: First time fans have been allowed to go out there and have some fun show support for their team.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: It was great to see that.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to dive in everything we saw today.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate to tune it in.

- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: So the only new injury information really is 100 long hasn't been practicing the last couple days.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Not sure why he is there.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously dealing with something working off to the side.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's all we've got there.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, still doing his same thing that we've talked about all off season where he's very involved in the offensive huddle, basically, once the huddle breaks, he exits the huddle goes off to the side a little bit and kind of works through mentally and physically like what he would be doing on a given place.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: So he's getting a lot of mental work in.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen said yesterday, he hit 22.6 miles per hour and testing, so Travis Hunter appears definitely on track there.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Lannon could be a little bit longer in the training camp accordingly.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm coming so
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's one to definitely keep an eye on with the Jaguar's left tackle.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Just a few notes here, special teams that are practicing downing punts, catching punts.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: And that's just one example.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: There is so much intentionality.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Every drill that they do, whether it be individual or team, is like focused on something.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: I love the intentionality and the attention to detail that this coaching staff brings, and Matthew O'Rujo, I was watching the Jaguar's corners and watching Matthew O'Rujo coaching them up.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: He is the Jaguar's new past game coordinator on defense.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's kind of a focus on corners, a lot of energy, a lot of coaching every single rep
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Campanila, a lot of different defensive systems.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to keep an eye on them for sure.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: And another thing I've noticed, like a lot of the guys, especially watching the DBs today, a lot of these players really look like they have been
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: get an after it in the weight room, they look bigger, stronger, not bigger like Ryan Nielsen was trying to get them bigger, like eating as much as you possibly can, but actually putting on muscle.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: You're seeing that around the team with the guys that have been here from 2025 through this offseason heading into 2026.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: So that's just something cool to see.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's noticeable out there for sure.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be remiss if I didn't say I think the biggest storyline so far is the Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr. connection.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: And yesterday we talked about overall offensively like not a super efficient day.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think Trevor Lawrence was like 10 of 19 in team periods.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't look great in the red zone overall today much better.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: really much better.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: 10 of 12 I had Trevor Lawrence at and a lot of that was targets to Brian Thomas Jr. all over the field.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: Getting deep, getting behind the defense, creating separation all over the field.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. and Trevor Lawrence's connection and just Brian Thomas Jr. the way he's playing the confidence he's bringing to practice.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: The kind of like renewed mindset that he talked about a couple weeks ago.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's really showing and today just today.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean you had what?
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: 1, 2, 3, 4 Four completions during team out of the 12 pass attempts out of the 10 completions were to Brian Thomas Jr
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: You got a D-1, you actually got a couple D-1s, right, where you're talking like 40-50 yards down the field, a couple of ones where he just got wide open against the defense.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: And Trevor 1's going 10-12, I asked for a bounce back today.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that's what you would like to see from Trevor Lawrence in the offense.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I think you certainly saw that from Trevor Lawrence, Jacobi Myers,
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. Parker Washington wasn't as heavily involved today, but he still looked good, Britain strains looked good.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was a good day for the offense and Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr. You're not no question about that, so as long as that continues, that's a very positive sign.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: But it's early, you're not wearing pads, like it needs to continue.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: But the way things are trending is certainly solid.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: For Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr. in the rest of that passing game, I would say overall.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hines Allen had a would be sack on one of the completions I would say, or at least like heavy pressure where Trevor Lawrence would have had to get out of the pocket.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then looking at some other notes, just about players making plays and guys showing up, Devon Marshall.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: He had a pretty good day, locked up, multiple guys, and team practice had, I think, two or three past breakups during 11 on 11.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Devin Marshall is the rookie out of NC State.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I thought could have been drafted, but obviously was overlooked due to the fact that he ran like a four, six, 40.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Jubarbama Hammond, another corner, showing out in a big way.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jubarbama Hammond had,
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Three past breakups plus an interception today.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: His interception was on a CJ Williams drop.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I do have to say this, you know, CJ Williams, who I thought had been very impressive.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: Every single practice up until today.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: had a couple of miscues today.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: The drop, which wasn't a perfect pass from Nick Mullins, it was a little bit behind them, but still a pass that should have been caught.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: You can't pop that ball up and allow the defender to go get hands on it.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: And then another opportunity he had down the field CJ Williams wasn't able to get it, but he did make a couple of nice plays as well.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: So like you
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: You take the good with the bad there a little bit with the rookie, but he's most uneven practice so far, but a big part of that again is Jabar Muhammad plan so well.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: Devin Neal Jr was able to get a pass break up, number 36 on the defensive side.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: Kenny H. Lovely, super active.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: He had three pass breakups, but also a pass in her parents called on him.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: So overall, very good day for Kenny H. Lovely, the corner back number 31, but you did have the one pretty big blimished with the pass in her parents down the field.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I wrote Aurora Row, get in the back field for a very quick pressure.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: Good to see him being able to do that.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: Did want to talk about the running backs?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think Basial Tutan, if Ryan Thomas Jr. has been
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: The, you know, storyline, underline it, market-in-pin, exclamation point at the end of the sentence.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: Bacial Tutan has been really good, too.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: And he was good today, had a couple runs where it looked like he probably would have busted off, you know, a 10 plus yarder at the very least with his 4-3 speed.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: So Bacial Tutan, taking advantage of a lot of reps.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: So as Jamari Taylor, Jamari Taylor continues to impress me, the rookie under after free agent running back out of Virginia.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna have a tough time not keeping him on the roster.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: I feel strongly the way he's going to play throughout training camp in preseason.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Not only like teams are going to see him a lot during the three joint practices that they have.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: those three teams will, but then also I think he's going to do really well during preseason.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: And if they don't keep it, I think he'll be some more else, honestly.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think it'll be tough to stash him on the practice squad.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a really good back.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Cameron, the rookie wide receiver who is a big body guy.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: He had a couple nice grabs in this one.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: Almost was able to catch a deep pass, but wasn't able to quite catch up with it.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Tanner Crosiel, another day, another go-up and get it, impressive catch by Cosiel.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: That was really good to see him continue on with his ability to make kind of highlight real grabs down the field.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Payne, this is a rookie, why do you see Radapen stayed on draught a free agent who he's pushing.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: He was really pushing.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: He had a touchdown grab on a catch and run.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: He had another big catch and run.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: He scored a touchdown yesterday.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's somebody that's continuing to stand out of the wider receiver spot.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: And you would think like CJ Williams and Josh Cameron have the upper hand there being draft picks, but he's not gonna make it easy.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Another guy who made a big play,
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, the widersaver number 49, one of the strangest widersaver numbers I've ever seen.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: Last play of practice went up and got it in the end zone, contested catch over a defender touchdown grab, really good play from him, and I did want to mention Austin Tramwell.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: He is a practice warrior, always making plays in practice.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: He had a really tough start to practice where like Devon Marshall, Jemar Mujamed, multiple guys were getting past breakups when the ball was throwing Tramwell's way.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: he had a bunch of catches later on in practice and then had a touchdown on a catch and run.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: So a bounce back from a early disappointing practice for a tram will he got it going in a big way and he's somebody that is always fighting for a roster spot, practice squad and he just won't go away.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: He's that type of guy that continues to make plays as like a slot receiver type, but that'll do it again.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think the biggest takeaway is Brian Thomas Jr. in Trevor Lawrence playing well.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence and the passing offense is bounce back today in front of the fans and bashedl toot and playing good football.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the way the corners looked today would be more concerning if you didn't know that Travis Hunter was coming back.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: I will definitely say that.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: And they made some plays of their own, particularly like on the back end.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's good competition on the back end between Devin Marshall, Gibbarmul Hamid, Christian Braswell,
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: At the top right now, I think you are missing Travis Hunter a little bit on some of these practice days.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: But once he gets back out there for training camp, I think it's going to be a good deal for the jags in the corner back room and the defensive backfield in general is going to look pretty darn solid.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know how you're feeling about the way things are going.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: If you're out there at practice, let me know in the comment section below.
