- 0:04The Mets are in a bad spot right now.
- 0:12I've never seen a Ranger team quit before the Olympics.
- 0:15We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he
- 0:17can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:20I played 82 games. You don't see LeBron doing that,
- 0:23but Jack Hughes did after getting his teeth knocked out
- 0:26and played every single shift he got back in the game.

- 2:26Illinois defeated Iowa 71 to 59 to advance to their first Final
- 2:30Four appearance since 2005. Illinois defense remained
- 2:34dominant, holding Iowa to under 60 points for the first time in
- 2:39the tournament. The Arizona Wildcats are heading
- 2:42to their first Final Four since 2001 after a 7964 win over
- 2:47Purdue. After Purdue was up by 7 points
- 2:50at half, Arizona had a 16 three second-half run led by freshman
- 2:57KOA Pete, who was named the West Region Most Outstanding Player.
- 3:03Purdue's veteran trio of Braden, Braden Smith and Trey Kaufman,
- 3:08Wren and Fletcher Lawyer struggle badly, combining to
- 3:12shoot just 12 out 12 for 38 in the game.
- 3:17In the last game, Michigan blew out Tennessee 95 to 62, which is
- 3:21expected to advance to their first Final Four since 2018.
- 3:25This is the third straight year Tennessee has been eliminating
- 3:29in Elite 8 and is one of nine Power Five teams to have never
- 3:35made a Final Four. Michigan won their 11th game by
- 3:3830 or more points this season and also became the first team
- 3:43in NCAA history Tournament history to win four straight
- 3:47games by double digits while scoring at least 90 in a game.
- 3:52By the way, it's very impressive what Michigan did throughout
- 3:56this tournament. When you look at Michigan and
- 3:58what Michigan has done in this tournament, I, there are a lot
- 4:02of things that I could say that really stuck out to me, but I, I
- 4:06wouldn't have expected this team to do it and make it look so
- 4:10easy, especially what they did against Tennessee, because
- 4:14Tennessee throughout the tournament, there were, there
- 4:17was a lot of questions with Tennessee.
- 4:19Are they going to score enough? Are they going to be able to
- 4:21play at an elite level? Well, they proved everybody
- 4:24wrong because they did it in such a high level all the way
- 4:27through the Sweet 16 until the Elite 8.
- 4:30They bumped into a a jigsaw puzzle of Michigan because you I
- 4:33say they're a jigsaw puzzle because there are games that
- 4:36Michigan makes this game makes the game look so close.
- 4:39And you have questions if Michigan's going to be able to
- 4:42play at a high level throughout the game because they're up and
- 4:44they're down. They don't play heavy defense.
- 4:47They don't score enough in certain quarters.
- 4:49And and you wonder is this team going to win a national
- 4:52championship? Are they capable of winning a
- 4:53national championship? We've seen Arizona do it
- 4:56throughout this tournament. Even when they're their ups and
- 4:58downs, they're just a high flying offense.
- 5:00We know what Arizona can do and what they're capable of doing.
- 5:02They have Bradley and they're Berries, two guys that are going
- 5:05to be top ten, top 12 picks. Michigan is different.
- 5:11What Michigan brings to the table, they're a high flying
- 5:14offense. They can score, they can go up
- 5:16and down the court. The things that they do better
- 5:20than most teams in this tournament is they could shoot
- 5:22the three, they can shoot. This team could shoot.
- 5:26Arizona is not a great 3 point shooting team.
- 5:29They're not. They don't shoot.
- 5:30They shoot the least amount of three pointers going into this
- 5:34tournament and really throughout this tournament they haven't
- 5:36shot a lot of three pointers. If Michigan plays like they
- 5:41played against Tennessee, there's no chance in hell
- 5:43Arizona has to beating them. They're the best overall team, I
- 5:49believe, in this tournament because of what they do strong
- 5:53and what the other teams don't do strong.
- 5:57But I, I, I was, I was impressed with Arizona.
- 6:01I was, I, I, I can't, I can't hide behind it.
- 6:03I was impressed. I, I, I'm not surprised that
- 6:08when Arizona took the lead and it started to break out and, and
- 6:11break away from Purdue, Purdue was going to have problem
- 6:13scoring. And I'll tell you this, what
- 6:15Arizona did very well, they kept Purdue outside of the paint.
- 6:19They kept the ball outside of the paint.
- 6:21They may produce shoot shots that they were uncomfortable
- 6:24doing. They were putting and they made
- 6:27sure they're their best shooters weren't getting the right shots,
- 6:30the right spots to hit their shots.
- 6:33And I watched it. I've been watching Purdue all
- 6:35season long and this was the first time that I could say that
- 6:38Purdue and Purdue lost like 7-8 games this year.
- 6:41It wasn't like they were undefeated.
- 6:43They they only lost two or three games.
- 6:46They they've been beaten a couple times this year, but a
- 6:48lot of those games were very close games.
- 6:51They weren't, They didn't get blown out.
- 6:53To me, this was a blowout, an absolute torture rack.
- 6:58And everybody remember, I I forget who it was who did the
- 7:01torture rack in wrestling. I I I'm trying to remember, was
- 7:04it Lex Luger that did the torture rack?
- 7:06It was. He did the torture.
- 7:08Yeah, it was Lex Luger. Thank you, Tommy.
- 7:10I mean, I, I pretty much pulled it out.
- 7:12These are my wrestling guys, and they couldn't give me.
- 7:14They couldn't give it to me. It was Lex Luger that did the
- 7:17torture rack. And what did Lex Luger do?
- 7:19He put them on your back and he'd squeeze your back until you
- 7:21completely are done. Well, that's what Arizona did in
- 7:25the second-half and they did it pretty quickly.
- 7:28At the 15 point mark, I mean 15 minute mark, I believe the game
- 7:34was over. I didn't think Purdue was going
- 7:37to come back no matter how close it was.
- 7:38And Purdue knocked it down to five points with 10 minutes
- 7:41left. There was no way Purdue was
- 7:43going to come back in this game. Why?
- 7:45Because they couldn't stop Berries.
- 7:47They could not stop him even when they were calling time outs
- 7:51and their coach is one of the best defensive minds in all the
- 7:54college basketball. They couldn't contain him and
- 8:00that ladies and gentlemen and Pete was almost impossible to
- 8:03stop. It was just it was a flat out
- 8:08dominant play when it came to Arizona.
- 8:11Just completely wiped the smack if out of the mouths of the
- 8:16Purdue Boil makers. I I don't boiler men
- 8:20Boilermakers. They're definitely boiling
- 8:21water, boiling tea, whatever they're doing.
- 8:24They're playing golf right now and wondering what did they do
- 8:27in the second-half that made them not show up to the
- 8:31second-half? Now, what happened was they
- 8:33missed way too many threes and they were open shots, so you you
- 8:37got to take them. But that also plays into the
- 8:39hands of them trying to not play the half court defense they have
- 8:42to play because they were stuck in a lot of transition
- 8:44opportunities, which benefits Arizona a lot.
- 8:46Now, I'm not saying Arizona's a super fast pace east team, but
- 8:49somebody a team that likes to drive to the hoop and shoot the
- 8:51mid range and obviously shoot foul shots as well as they do
- 8:54like Arizona doesn't doesn't like to shoot the three.
- 8:55The transition game kind of benefits them so that when they
- 8:58had that super fast run as quickly as they did, a lot of it
- 9:02has to do with them playing such a great transition game and such
- 9:04a great inside passing game to make that kind of thing work.
- 9:07And Purdue, if they play their traditional style of what Matt
- 9:10Painter likes to do and try to drive inside and slow the game
- 9:13down, then that kind of thing you could play even with.
- 9:15You could try to weather the storm and you're not going to
- 9:18get a run like that as big against them because Arizona was
- 9:20struggling shooting inside at the beginning.
- 9:22Arizona or Purdue was duping them into shooting threes at the
- 9:25beginning. They were duping them into
- 9:27taking those tough shots inside. And then they went away from it
- 9:30because they couldn't just get enough transition defense.
- 9:33And Arizona eventually just took off.
- 9:34At that point, you forced Purdue to have to play from behind,
- 9:37which is not really their strength.
- 9:38It's never really been that pain or strength is trying to play
- 9:40from behind when they're doing well with that.
- 9:44Even this team that has a really good potency of scoring depth,
- 9:47it just wasn't there. It was just disappeared all at
- 9:49once and it's just going to be hard to do.
- 9:51As far as Michigan goes, Michigan outside of really the
- 9:531st 5 minutes of games has been fine.
- 9:56Offensively. They struggled at the beginning
- 9:57of the Alabama game. Actually, I should say the
- 9:59Alabama game, they were, they were struggling much of the
- 10:02half. But besides that, it's really
- 10:04just been the slow starts. Besides that, they could play
- 10:06good transition all around. They have good size, big guys
- 10:09shooting the three too. Errol, it's not just a lot of
- 10:11guards, it's a lot of their forwards that could shoot the
- 10:13three very well with big size and they play really good
- 10:15defense. Tennessee was coming in with an
- 10:17offense that I wasn't sure about at the beginning of the
- 10:19tournament, but they played very well against Virginia, who has a
- 10:21good defense, and they played well against Iowa State, really
- 10:24dominated that whole second-half, but did not have it
- 10:27in that game. And they just really got lost
- 10:28when they fell badly behind. They just never recovered.
- 10:30You want to talk about like UConn never gave up, Tennessee
- 10:32looks like they gave up in that game.
- 10:34Once I met wasn't scoring in a lot of other things.
- 10:36And Illinois I've questioned Illinois tournament defense all
- 10:40see all series long, all this tournament long because they
- 10:43were better than previous years. But it wasn't something that I
- 10:45was was sure about. They were stifling against
- 10:49Houston, 55 points and then 59 points against an Iowa team that
- 10:52was scoring 70 plus throughout the tournament.
- 10:54They scored 73 on Florida and they were shooting the three
- 10:57like crazy. And Illinois had a very good at
- 10:59defensive game plans and it stayed very disciplined and it
- 11:01does a lot of credit. I'm going to tell you this,
- 11:03Illinois could absolutely win a national champions championship.
- 11:06They can. They played very well all all
- 11:08throughout the tournament of defense.
- 11:10They've been shooting the ball very, very well.
- 11:12I I was very impressed what they did to Iowa.
- 11:14Iowa has been playing at a high level.
- 11:16I didn't think Illinois was going to win to beat Iowa.
- 11:19I didn't. But hey, you know what?
- 11:20That's what you want to see. You want to see these surprise
- 11:23teams. I don't think on everybody's
- 11:25bracket you would think that Illinois was going all the way
- 11:28to the Final Four. I didn't say they wanted
- 11:33National. Champions.
- 11:34No. You said they're going to win.
- 11:35No, I said. They can win a very.
- 11:36Capable of it if you look at their average.
- 11:38Margin of victory this year? Well, they're in the final four.
- 11:40Why? Couldn't they?
- 11:41And they've won every game by double digits.
- 11:43Why couldn't they? They got all the way over here.
- 11:45They hit some game-winning shots.
- 11:47Why can't Illinois actually pull off and win a national
- 11:49championship this year? We've seen crazier things.
- 11:52I, I, I think there's, there's a lot of opportunity here for a
- 11:56team like Illinois to, to go all the way and not go off UConn, a
- 11:59national championship team and go to the national championship
- 12:02and wipe the floor with Arizona, who's never really won a big
- 12:06game. How many, how many championships
- 12:08has Arizona won in the last 20 years?
- 12:13You're saying they're about to win, but they got to go through
- 12:15Michigan 1st and they're going to go through UConn.
- 12:19Or Illinois. Or.
- 12:20Illinois. You can't take Illinois.
- 12:21For. Granted.
- 12:22You kind of going to beat the brace up in the north because
- 12:24the Yukon can't pay no worse than they paid last game against
- 12:28you. There's no way.
- 12:29Yeah, but they also did this with UCLA, too.
- 12:31UCLA, they were struggling mightily offensively.
- 12:33It was really just Caravan. You can't say and I know Quinn,
- 12:37you you have Arizona, so you have them winning at all and if
- 12:40you want to patch yourself on the back, that's fine.
- 12:42That's great. What happens if Arizona loses
- 12:44against Michigan, because it could happen.
- 12:46What if yes, just like dude just like that.
- 12:49There was no chance in it really going into the second-half.
- 12:52I thought that Arizona's going to win that game against Purdue.
- 12:55They were playing like crap. They were playing like doggy Doo
- 12:59Doo. OK.
- 13:00And then you predicted, you predicted that was going to
- 13:02transition into that game. Come on, Quinn, you did not.
- 13:05Believe that was happening. You think that is luck but this
- 13:10thing, these things happen it is luck.
- 13:12People that show up, they play. Please, it's about making shots
- 13:15play, nothing to do with all these other nuances.
- 13:17You're a data guy, so I understand why you feel that,
- 13:19but however it's about making shots that's.
- 13:23All first of all speedies the data.
- 13:27No. Actually, I'm not the heavy data
- 13:31guy. I'm.
- 13:32Not. I'm, I'm saying to you when I
- 13:36look at the, when I watch the tournament and I understand the
- 13:38tournament and watch and I, I, I'll be straight up honest with
- 13:42you, I don't really watch a lot of these teams until the last
- 13:453-4 weeks of the season. And I'm going to tell you this
- 13:48right now, I and anybody that tells me differently that you
- 13:51watch college basketball religiously is a lie because I
- 13:54don't believe it. I do not believe anybody can
- 13:57sell me unless you're a betting man, a handicapper like Jeff or
- 14:00Snug the Cat or anything. Anybody that sits there and
- 14:03they're pathological, there's no way you're going to tell me, oh,
- 14:06I've been watching Arizona all season long.
- 14:09I watch every one of their game because that's a lie.
- 14:12That is an absolute lie. You can watch it as many as.
- 14:15People who do, how you going to say this?
- 14:17A. Lie.
- 14:17I'm I'm telling you that I know for a fact you didn't do it.
- 14:20No, they're on that West. Coast, I'm asking you, did you
- 14:23watch Arizona whole? Season.
- 14:24No. No, but I.
- 14:26Know that's what I'm saying that tells us, ladies and gentlemen,
- 14:29Quentin Couples knows. So that's what tells us, ladies
- 14:33and gentlemen, the great cue. Oh God almighty cue tells us I
- 14:39stayed. Up late for you.
- 14:40Q. And watch that, though.
- 14:41And I tell you what happened, Errol, my man Mr. Buries, shut
- 14:45them the hell down in the second-half.
- 14:47Hit 43 pointers, was everything for them.
- 14:50Loose balls like Josh Hart, diving, making plays, but has
- 14:54more offense than him. My goodness, this guy is going
- 14:57to be a steal for somebody in the draft.
- 14:59And Pete, I mean, I'm reading, you know, some comps online.
- 15:02I just keep seeing Julius Randle, but like, like that,
- 15:06kind of like a playmaker at the Power.
- 15:08Oh, can't wait for him to be the bricklayer.
- 15:09In this game, yeah. That's great, the bricklayer
- 15:12against. Mission.
- 15:13But they don't have to go to him is the point because you saw the
- 15:16ball movement arrow, all the highlights of Arizona.
- 15:19The reason why they've been so successful is they pass the ball
- 15:22with the best of them. They just anybody that watch
- 15:24ball, anybody that watch Ball knew Arizona was going to win
- 15:27this year anyway, so. But well, hold on a second the
- 15:29same way. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold
- 15:31on, hold on one second. So what you're telling us right
- 15:34now is you did what everybody was doing, picking your champion
- 15:38because everybody else was picking their champion the same
- 15:41way you don't pick, you don't go and play.
- 15:44You do not go on the bracket and say, you know what, everybody's
- 15:47picking Arizona to win. I'm picking Arizona to win.
- 15:50Is that what you did? I think that's what you did.
- 15:53You only think that's why, That's why you think the
- 15:55brackets are. Look, see, I actually talked to
- 15:57Hoopers. I actually talked.
- 15:58Oh, so so I don't talk to. Give me insight on I'm sorry,
- 16:02not looking or not seeing OK, because you don't look at games
- 16:05at really we said the season. So therefore you wouldn't know
- 16:08what Arizona looks like because you only you only wait till the
- 16:11end of the season. Fans, are you listening to this
- 16:13garbage? Yes.
- 16:14Are you listening? Fans ask them who's leading in
- 16:16the bracket. It doesn't matter who's leading
- 16:18in the bracket, it does. Go ask the fans who lead in the
- 16:21bracket in the last two years. Go after what?
- 16:24Fantasy? Who cares?
- 16:26It's luck. It's luck.
- 16:28Down to this. It's luck.
- 16:30It is. Luck it is 100.
- 16:32Percent luck. I'm telling you before it
- 16:34happened, how does? That look, do you want me to?
- 16:36Do you want me to show you? Maybe you should read my
- 16:38article. Maybe you should read my
- 16:40article. Maybe I should throw you a
- 16:41curveball and you'll read the article.
- 16:43Because the article. I did my research.
- 16:45It's all about luck. As a matter of fact, 69%.
- 16:49Of the problem doing research and then you're going to say is
- 16:51luck. Because you rely heavy on the
- 16:53research. Oh.
- 16:55All right, so let's hear what is just.
- 16:57Like before that shot we do, it was an 89% chance that dude was
- 17:00going to win. So let me ask you a.
- 17:02Question to show you research also showed that 134 games when
- 17:08our team is leading at the halftime by 10 or 15 points that
- 17:11they were going to win the game. So research shows me.
- 17:14That these guys are John Shire and.
- 17:15That's what. It goes Research also tells me
- 17:17that Arizona can't win the big game.
- 17:20That's what research tells me every single year, over and over
- 17:23and over again. They find a way to.
- 17:25Tell. Though.
- 17:27Research also shows you that experience doesn't win and
- 17:29experienced teams don't win. Now, Quentin.
- 17:32Research doesn't sell nothing. I'm going to tell you this and
- 17:36you could go and look at statistics, data, or you got to
- 17:39have your thumb in your ass. That's not going to sell
- 17:41anything to me, OK? What tells me right now is when
- 17:45we go to break, I'm going to have to go to the bathroom.
- 17:47And there's another thing that sells me what research tells me.
- 17:50I could care less what everybody is giving you and all the
- 17:53information on social media, Your quote UN quote hoopers,
- 17:57because you know what those hoopers do when it comes down to
- 18:00their brackets? They go down and they hide.
- 18:03They hide under their desks when they're outside the bracket
- 18:06looking in because it's all luck anyways.
- 18:09I'm above the Dicks. I'm above the.
- 18:10Oh yeah, you're above I. Told you, don't worry.
- 18:12Quentin, you could go send our friend Carl some Michigan gear
- 18:15when they beat Arizona. Hugh's going to be hiding under
- 18:18his desk when the Celtics lose against the Knicks.
- 18:23He's going to be, he's going to be, he's going to be ducking and
- 18:25weaving. What New York did lost a double
- 18:33digit knee. Stop.
- 18:35Wow, they got this error. Isn't that funny, really?
- 18:40Is that, is that how is that how we're going on this show?
- 18:45Is that where we're going? I think we don't want to go that
- 18:48route. We got to talk about
- 18:50Stojakovic's kid on Illinois a little bit.
- 18:52That kid is for real. Andrei Stojakovic.
- 18:55Where are they talking about him going right now in the draft?
- 18:58Is he's been lighting? Up all.
- 18:59I've seen mid, I've seen mid. I've seen mostly 16 through 20
- 19:02with him. Kawhi Leonard.
- 19:04Yeah, like, right there. So much.
- 19:06Depth in this draft, dude. So much it's.
- 19:09Going to be fun. I'm interested to see where some
- 19:11of these guys land. Anyways, My golf clap of the
- 19:14day. This deserves a golf clap.
- 19:18No doubt. Golf.
- 19:19Clap Golf. Clap.
- 19:22All right, ladies and gentlemen, my golf clap in a day.
- 19:24I don't even know if it's a golf clap.
- 19:26It could be my deuce of the day because it makes no sense
- 19:29whatsoever. The Golden Knights listen to
- 19:33this, their championship coach who won a Stanley Cup with the
- 19:39Boston Bruins, who they pride him away from the Boston Bruins
- 19:43to be and pay them a heavy amount of money.
- 19:46They fired him at the tail end of the season and who did they
- 19:51put into his spots? And it makes no sense
- 19:54whatsoever. I, I like this guy.
- 19:56I, I root for him. I hope nothing but the best.
- 19:59John Tortorella. Becomes the new head coach of
- 20:04the Golden Knights. No, John Tordorella won a
- 20:07championship. He won a Stanley Cup with the
- 20:10Tampa Bay Lightning. I, I, I mean, I, I love John
- 20:14Tordorella. I love everything about him, but
- 20:16everywhere he's gone, he's had problems with the locker room.
- 20:19Now you put him in a locker room with a bunch of veterans,
- 20:22talented veterans, and you are still in a playoff spot How do
- 20:26you fire a coach when you're in a playoff spot?
- 20:29It makes no sense. And right now, go golden.
- 20:32The Golden Knights, as far as talent is concerned, probably is
- 20:34a top four team in the playoffs. Top five.
- 20:37They're as talented as any team going into the playoffs.
- 20:40Why would you fire your coach with what, 2 weeks left of the
- 20:45NHL season? It makes no sense.
- 20:47You know what this tells me? The Golden Knights are going to
- 20:51fall very, very short for a Stanley Cup championship this
- 20:55year. There is no way this team is
- 20:57going to win a Stanley Cup going in to the playoffs with a guy
- 21:01that has not been behind the bench as the head coach all
- 21:05season long. So my Golf Club of the day goes
- 21:08to the non champion Golden Knights because they're not
- 21:12winning nothing this year. So golf clap it, golf clap it.
- 21:15Beautiful. Thank you.
- 21:17Thank you very, very much to the Golden Knights.
- 21:19Because no matter who the Golden Knights play, if they move into
- 21:23the next round or even the the Westerkoff championship, which
- 21:26they don't have any chance, I'm going to tell you, you could
- 21:28book it. They're probably getting
- 21:29eliminated in the first round, bringing John Tortorella because
- 21:32all he believes in his defense, defense, defense.
- 21:35And half these guys don't even know what defense is.
- 21:37So I mean, Mitch Marner played defense.
- 21:40Yeah, that's going to work. If I go through their roster
- 21:43right now, they have probably one of the best offensive
- 21:46defensive forwards in all of hockey.
- 21:48And then the rest of the team, there's a lot of questions to
- 21:51the roster and and what they play and how deep they play.
- 21:54And the goaltending has been up and down all season long.
- 21:57So a lot of questions for the Golden Knights and John
- 21:59Tortorella is not the answer as far as I'm concerned anyways.
- 22:02We call this tic tic no. Morris right in the butt.
- 22:09We get the prizes. Cheap because they're stolen.
- 22:12No, no, no, no, no, no. Make her squirt.
- 22:21Make me jerk. Fish.
- 22:23Fish. You update yours to a shark, I
- 22:24say. Speedy seats with endangered
- 22:27animals. That is not an endangered.
- 22:29Animal. I'm more aggressive than this
- 22:31Tic tac No 3 point O squeeze the T.
- 22:34Time out am I, John? Cena there.
- 22:36That is, that is Tommy poop Cena right there on.
- 22:40Top right poop Cena. All right, speedy verse, all of
- 22:46us Trivia. Let's.
- 22:49Get it going. All right, just for you and quit
- 22:51and I have to start off with Michigan's head coach Dusty May
- 22:53who becomes the 6th coach to wake a final four in both a
- 22:56power conference and a non power conference team named two of the
- 23:00other five coaches who have done that since 1970.
- 23:05I'm going to need you to repeat that one.
- 23:07More time. So Dusty May.
- 23:08He made the final four with FAU. Now makes the final four with
- 23:10Michigan. He's becomes the 6th coach since
- 23:121970. Make a final four with both a
- 23:13power five team and a non power five team.
- 23:16Named two of the other five coaches who have done that.
- 23:19Calipari. Calipari is one, yeah.
- 23:22Pitino, not Pitino. Providence is a Big East that's
- 23:25I got one for. Basketball Roy Williams.
- 23:27Nope. He's it was power.
- 23:29I'll go say it. Yeah, but he's.
- 23:31All right. So we only need one more.
- 23:33We need one more and we each get 2 guesses or or one all right so
- 23:37we just get 2 guesses. We got our interns Dom and Zood
- 23:41in the back as well helping us out.
- 23:43Good to see you boys. I got I got speeded power 5.
- 23:53Yeah, one non power 5 we already.
- 23:55Said no, no. Biggie's for basketball counts
- 23:58as a power conference, so it's not.
- 23:59It's not Matino. How about I say it was about,
- 24:01you know. All right, so the other one let
- 24:04me think, oh, it's going to be a random 1, isn't it?
- 24:09I only. Got one more guess too.
- 24:12There's one very random one. The other three names are pretty
- 24:15recognizable. OK.
- 24:19Jay Wright. Not Jay Wright.
- 24:25Did Bobby Knight take Army to a Final Four before Indiana?
- 24:29No. All right, so I'm out of
- 24:30guesses. Dana Altman.
- 24:35Not Dana Altman all. Right, you're at 2 Q.
- 24:39Tommy, I was trying to find the most random name that I can
- 24:45remember. If if it's the one that was
- 24:48random that I was thinking of, I'm going to be so pissed I
- 24:50can't think of another one for my second.
- 24:52Fish take my gas. I got nothing.
- 24:54I, I don't even, I don't even know if he made it to the Final
- 24:57Four. I just know his, his name just
- 24:58kept popping in my head. Andy Enfield.
- 25:00No. No, he was the FG, the Florida
- 25:02Gulf Coast coach. They went to the Sweet 16.
- 25:05Yeah, I just remember loving that, like, campus of Florida
- 25:09Gulf Coast when they were winning.
- 25:10Have you ever seen a better campus for college?
- 25:12They're on the beach, bro. It's crazy.
- 25:14Yeah. I think so.
- 25:15I think Stetson is the same way. So I think their campus is
- 25:17right. There as well, yeah.
- 25:20I can't think I I'm trying to. I'm trying to remember some.
- 25:24Of the better than Dukes. What is the What is the
- 25:26initials? We need a hit.
- 25:27Give us a life all. Right.
- 25:29One of them, one of them was on a team that just lost in the
- 25:32second weekend. This.
- 25:34This second weekend, this. 2nd. Weekend.
- 25:38I don't know. Second weekend.
- 25:39Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He's saying that they just.
- 25:42You need to give it part of the bracket the second weekend.
- 25:45So they made. 16. Or the elite, Less than that,
- 25:51less than that, I don't know. I don't know.
- 25:53It's less than that because I already.
- 25:55He did make two Final Fours, but it wasn't with it was both with
- 25:57Gonzaga. I don't know, honestly.
- 25:59I don't know. Let's go, Speedy.
- 26:01Let's. Move.
- 26:01All right, so I got it. I mentioned one of them earlier
- 26:04in the show was Bob Hawkins made it with Cincinnati and West
- 26:06Virginia. The one the one that just lost
- 26:09was Calvin Sampson who made it with Houston when they were not
- 26:12in the Big 12. They were AAC team.
- 26:14They also he also made it with Oklahoma back in 2000, back in
- 26:172002 and then 2023, Jim Larranega joined that club,
- 26:21making it with George Mason and Miami.
- 26:23You want my cream pie? George Mason, Team I, Jim.
- 26:26Larranega, I don't think it was going.
- 26:27To be that. All right, Speedy, I'm giving
- 26:29you the middle, I'm assuming and let's get back to the next
- 26:32question. All right, let's go to those
- 26:34rookies you were talking about fish.
- 26:35So both De Lauder and Maracami homered in their first 3
- 26:38consecutive games in their career, which is one behind the
- 26:42rookie record which was set by what American League East player
- 26:46who did it in 2016. Oh damn.
- 26:49Now he was 16 on a National League team at the time.
- 26:52He's now an American League East player.
- 26:54In there to. OK, All right.
- 26:56So it's a guy who's been in a league for at least eight years.
- 27:01Say that again. Say that.
- 27:02Again. So this player, who's now in the
- 27:03American League East, set the rookie record homering in his
- 27:06first four straight games in his career when he was a member of
- 27:10the National League team at that time.
- 27:14In the East. Now in the American League East,
- 27:17Cody Bellinger? Nope.
- 27:20Pete Alonso in the. American.
- 27:23He's in there, Yeah. No or in there though. 20160 OK
- 27:262016 Alonso gave up in 19 OK. So older than Alonso?
- 27:31It's going to be in his 30s mid 30s probably.
- 27:35Stan. Nope.
- 27:38Stan is around longer. That's a tough one, man.
- 27:44I'm trying to, I'm trying to look through every single team
- 27:46in my head and. I'm trying to think of the teams
- 27:49in the in the East that have like a 34 year old kind of home
- 27:54run hitter, right It's. Got to be somebody on the Devil
- 28:03the Rays. Isn't my guy Andy Diaz?
- 28:06No. He'd be the right age for it.
- 28:10No, he never played in the National League.
- 28:13I wasn't sure if he came up with Saint Louis or something like
- 28:15that. I.
- 28:15Don't think he ever yeah came up with.
- 28:18Them. Yeah, I don't know, Speedy.
- 28:19All right. Anyone got a guess?
- 28:21Anyone want to throw a guess out?
- 28:23Speedy is whooping this tonight. So I'll give you the NL
- 28:26division. He came up in an for an NL.
- 28:28My rear end is burning. NL W to AL East, Yes.
- 28:36Is it Tommy? I take your guess, is it var
- 28:41show? Nope.
- 28:43All right, I got nothing. Speedy.
- 28:45What? Who is it?
- 28:46Trevor Story. Oh, the Rockies.
- 28:51Damn, I should have thought of that.
- 28:53All right, Speedy, where are we going?
- 28:55Top right. Top right, right here, covering
- 28:59up Tommy Cena. AKA Jesus Christ right there.
- 29:03Let's. Go.
- 29:06Look at that. All right, Speedy, give us one
- 29:08where where we got it. All right.
- 29:09Let's go for some football. We'll give Q an NFL one.
- 29:11So Lavonte David, one of three players with 40 sacks and 35
- 29:15takeaways since 1982, Name the other two.
- 29:18Say it again. Lavonte David is one of three
- 29:21players with 40 sacks and 35 takeaways in his career since
- 29:241982. Name the other two players.
- 29:26At at that position, they're both at that position.
- 29:31Speedy. I'm going to let you guys guess,
- 29:34but speedy effed up because I had this exact stat in the
- 29:38sports minute last week. I know who it is.
- 29:43He had 40 sacks and 30 takeaways.
- 29:45They're. 40 and 35. You can answer it because he
- 29:48screwed up. That's not fair.
- 29:50He screwed. I'll get you guys guess, but
- 29:51don't spend too long. I'm going to give you the
- 29:53answer. He screwed up.
- 29:56He did 35 takeaways. It is.
- 29:59They're both middle linebackers and they're both Hall of
- 30:01Farmers. Ray Lewis.
- 30:03Yep, and the other great middle linebacker that time on the
- 30:07conference. Nope.
- 30:09Not Luke. Good guess, 49ers.
- 30:13Oh, Bobby Wagner. Nope, not Wagner.
- 30:15Good guess. He has the tackle record right
- 30:19now I think. He does, it's insane.
- 30:22It is. It's been a team.
- 30:24Brian Urlacher is. Brian Urlacher, Bears Yes.
- 30:27All right, Q me, I'm going to. Touch my end there.
- 30:31Since you got the first one. Come on, you're going.
- 30:34To bring Q to block speedy. Denied.
- 30:39Denied. Speedy.
- 30:44All right, what's next, Speedy? All right, so Tennessee failed
- 30:47to become the first six seed to make the Final four,
- 30:49specifically a six seed. There's been 7 through Elevens
- 30:51that have made it since 1992. The last one who did that was
- 30:54what team. A6.
- 30:55Seed a six, seed exactly a six seed you.
- 30:57Said what year? 1992.
- 31:00Jesus 92 six seed. 92 is the fab five year isn't it?
- 31:11So fab five were in a six seed. Duke wasn't a six seed.
- 31:14Who were the other two teams in the final four that year?
- 31:22I feel like I must have watched a documentary of this a million
- 31:24freaking times. I feel like Kentucky was one of
- 31:25the teams but I would doubt they were a six seed.
- 31:28So it's whoever the other team. What?
- 31:32See 92 branking it. Oh man, I.
- 31:37See UCLA. Was it BSSC?
- 31:41UNLV was good before. I'll take a guess, Arizona
- 31:44State. Nope.
- 31:49Succeed. That is so tough.
- 32:01I don't know. I got, I've got no idea.
- 32:04I feel like you need to give us a conference on that one.
- 32:07Yeah. What's the conference?
- 32:08Big 10. Big Care 290.
- 32:15Two Big 10. Well, the first name in my head
- 32:20was Indiana, so I'm going to stick with it.
- 32:22Nope. What's Nebraska?
- 32:25Is Nebraska in it? They weren't.
- 32:28They weren't back then. Not back then.
- 32:29They were big. 12 I love Lisa Ann.
- 32:31Purdue. What about Purdue?
- 32:32Nope, Purdue was Purdue before two years ago.
- 32:36They didn't have a Final Four until 1980.
- 32:39PAC 10. Big.
- 32:41Big 10, Big 10. OK, big. 10 But Nebraska wasn't
- 32:44in the Big 10 at that time. So they were back when the
- 32:48conferences made sense. Can't wait it wasn't O state
- 32:54this. Oh my God.
- 32:58They say it wasn't Michigan. Ohio State.
- 33:06Was not Ohio State breaking news.
- 33:07I'm taking you on it's team to beat Ohio State in the Elite 8
- 33:10though man. All right, let's go, Speedy.
- 33:19All right, right. I think we're done.
- 33:21Speedy, what do you got for? Us well, fish, you probably just
- 33:24sort of just said the first team you said because that was the
- 33:26answer They were, it was it was Michigan.
- 33:30Michigan was a six seed. It was a six seed.
- 33:32Yep. It was good.
- 33:33I was a six seed they. Were I thought I couldn't say.
- 33:36I thought Michigan wasn't an option.
- 33:38I never said it wasn't in. Ohio State.
- 33:41Where are we going? I never said it wasn't.
- 33:43I just thought it was a Big 10 team.
- 33:44All right, let's. Go.
- 33:46Bottom right. Bottom right for Speedy, so he's
- 33:49got a two way. He got a two way.
- 33:50On us right now, all. Right, I'll get him to.
- 33:53Get at least two in a row. Yep.
- 33:55I'll give you an NBA one for the next 1.
- 33:57So LeBron James became one of five players to get the 1500
- 34:01game mark in his career, namely 2 of the other 4.
- 34:06Two of the other 4. Yep, Robert Parish.
- 34:10Besides Parish, that was a record he broke.
- 34:12There was two others after that. Kareem, you can take that back.
- 34:17Cream is one, yeah. Yeah, I must say, Kareem Karl.
- 34:22Nope. Not Karl Malone or John
- 34:25Stockton. Yeah, it's John Slackman.
- 34:27It's on the other. Yeah.
- 34:28Nice. All right, That's one block
- 34:31right there. Smell my ass.
- 34:33Which one you want to block you? I suggest we block the one up
- 34:38here so we can have a win. It's right here, right?
- 34:40Yeah. Right control your.
- 34:42Subconscious. Right, All right.
- 34:45Next one wins, basically, boys. Here we go.
- 34:48I'll go back to the NFL for this one.
- 34:50So outside of JS NS 119 catch season, there were some guys
- 34:55above them that were did in the 20th century, 21st century.
- 34:58But we want to talk about the three guys that did it in the
- 35:0020th century who had more catches than JS NS that year.
- 35:04So all three of them did it in 1995.
- 35:06Named two of these three wider. Seats Marvin Harrison.
- 35:09Nope. No, that wouldn't have been 90.
- 35:115. 9595 Andre Johnson No. Rice guys were like 13.
- 35:18Rice, Jerry Rice was 1, yes. Jerry Rice is one of them for
- 35:21sure. Jerry Rice.
- 35:22Michael Irvin. Not Michael Irvin.
- 35:25I think he was hurt a ridiculous amount of catches in 95I.
- 35:32Have no clue. What this team?
- 35:35It's like, oh, Chris Carter, baby, not.
- 35:38Chris Carter. Daily lives.
- 35:41How about Tony Gonzalez? Nope.
- 35:43No. Damn.
- 35:47All right, We get 2 guesses because there's two guys we had
- 35:48to get. Yeah.
- 35:50You already guessed. I have I have AI only guessed 1
- 35:53you. Get Herman Moore.
- 35:55Yeah, you get one more. Herman Moore.
- 35:57Herman Moore Yeah, you got it too.
- 35:59Perfect high charges the other. Speeding was the other one Larry
- 36:04centered. Nope, the other one was Jerry
- 36:05Rice or no Jerry Rice, I think. Bruce.
- 36:08Bruce I. Did Bruce?
- 36:09I did, Bruce. But yeah, I remember like Herman
- 36:12Penner had like 100 yard, 100 reception fullback season.
- 36:15Back then he went retarded. Yeah, I saw goodies, ChatGPT
- 36:18running back for like receptions or whatever.
- 36:21He's like, oh, Larry, Larry Setters, that's the stud.
- 36:26So there it is. Q Look at that.
- 36:28You get the win. Get the W right here.
- 36:32That is a win. We got it.
- 36:35Tic Tac no ain't got nothing. Do I get this speech like a
- 36:41winner speech or anything? You don't go.
- 36:43I'll put you out. I'll spotlight you right now.
- 36:45What you got? Here I was so sick of winning.
- 36:50I really am. I was so sick.
- 36:52How does any keep winning, keep winning?
- 36:55And it's just amazing to be there every Monday and Thursday
- 36:59and then and by the winning the bracket and then I win my first
- 37:02Tic Tac. No, you know, I want to thank my
- 37:04team though. You know the guys that you see
- 37:06on the bottom, man, Without them, I I wouldn't be nothing,
- 37:09man. So I'm really grateful for you
- 37:10guys and allowing me to continue.
- 37:13What did you win? You won nothing.
- 37:15You haven't won. Anything, Sir, I'm speaking You
- 37:18haven't won anything. What did you win?
- 37:22I hate a clap. That's what you.
- 37:23Want. Thank you.
- 37:24You want a. Clap.
- 37:25That's it. That's all you want.
- 37:27It's the little things that matter.
- 37:28Yeah, don't you worry. Appreciate it.
- 37:29You're not winning that bracket. And even if you do win the
- 37:31bracket, it's all luck. So you can sink that and then
- 37:34anything you want to throw out there, hope it sticks.
- 37:38I win the push ups in another month or so.
- 37:40Oh, oh, so. Wait a second, so you're telling
- 37:43me? So you're telling me you're
- 37:45going to beat me in a push up contest?
- 37:46I'm not done with my speech. Can.
- 37:48You. Great, thank you so much to all
- 37:53my Co hosts, all the team and especially the athletes.
- 37:59And the athletes? Nothing.
- 38:00And that was muted for old Q because I don't know where he
- 38:04was going with that. And he's lost, he's lost in
- 38:07translation. They they got to they got to
- 38:09make a movie with him and Bill Murray.
- 38:11I mean seriously, because he's, he's definitely like the the
- 38:15mole that's trying to pop up and try to see his own shadow, if
- 38:18you know what I mean. Bill Murray and Q will have
- 38:22plenty of time for that when Yukon in Arizona lose in the
- 38:24final. That's.
- 38:25True. Good luck.
- 38:25Good luck, guys. You guys keep.
- 38:27It's like you guys don't want to win.
- 38:28It's like you just keep going against the green.
- 38:30It's like I give you the. Alright, right, I'm done
