- 0:03Well,
- 0:03today we planned on talking about the WFP
- 0:06and how they could change things up to
- 0:08be successful,
- 0:09but Hiller and Savan took that already.
- 0:12So unlike the WFP, we're going to pivot.
- 0:26I love the chase and the hunt and
- 0:28I set the pace when I'm running.
- 0:29I always take what I want and I
- 0:31always give it one hundred.
- 0:32Don't need a bank, no I'm funded.
- 0:34Play the game like it's nothing.
- 0:35I'm always thankful for something.
- 0:37Don't take for granted, stay humble.
- 0:38Now wake up!
- 0:40It's time to look at the enemy.
- 0:42Look in the mirror if he is no
- 0:44friend to me.
- 0:45It's not working out,
- 0:46maybe it's the chemistry.
- 0:48It's time to break up.
- 0:52It's lunchtime!
- 0:55Lunchtime on the Clydesdale.
- 0:57What's going on, everybody?
- 0:59Thank you to our sponsor for the show
- 1:02today, Thirdsy.
- 1:04If you need to rest or recover,
- 1:06it is the ideal product for you.
- 1:09Use the code Jazzy to get a fifteen
- 1:12percent off or go to Thirdsy.com backslash
- 1:19Jazzy.
- 1:21we go corey with the jazz hands and
- 1:25person off that way so uh jake uh
- 1:30giving us his uh language whatever so
- 1:41permanent co-host well i i still want to
- 1:44use this as a way to like come
- 1:46on alone occasionally but but
- 1:50we've been trying to talk about stuff all
- 1:52week and because of other factors,
- 1:54we keep getting cut short.
- 1:56And so I felt like we never,
- 1:57ever got our, our conversations finished.
- 2:01And it is a lot easier with a
- 2:03co-host.
- 2:04I will,
- 2:04I will say a lot easier and I
- 2:07really enjoy Corey's company.
- 2:08So there it is.
- 2:11Or as he's known in the world,
- 2:13the cowboy.
- 2:14Thanks, Debbie.
- 2:16So with that,
- 2:20other day we talked about the story of
- 2:22lego yes and at the end of that
- 2:25story i told you that i was building
- 2:27the breaking bad meth lab so excited right
- 2:33so i have to show you something so
- 2:36here's the box that the breaking bad meth
- 2:39lab came in bro
- 2:43So it's the mobile meth lab from Breaking
- 2:45Bad.
- 2:47So I'm going to, can you see?
- 2:51Yeah, that's amazing.
- 2:53Where's it at?
- 2:55Here, the age.
- 3:03It is for children six and older.
- 3:06You can build your own mobile meth lab.
- 3:09Children six and older.
- 3:15Get your mobile meth lab now.
- 3:19Are you kidding me?
- 3:22So full disclosure,
- 3:23today is my daughter's birthday.
- 3:24She just turned eight.
- 3:25And what she is not getting for her
- 3:29birthday is a Lego meth lab.
- 3:36That's just not taking place.
- 3:37It's just not a thing.
- 3:39Holy smokes, dude.
- 3:40What the heck?
- 3:45Can you believe?
- 3:48That's got to be like a standard thing
- 3:49they put on a box, right?
- 3:50Like it's six and up because it's not
- 3:52Duplo.
- 3:52It's not the big blocks, right?
- 3:53So it's not going to choke on the
- 3:56pieces, but you may die from the meth.
- 3:59You may die from the meth.
- 4:01Oh my God, dude.
- 4:03You know what?
- 4:03Yeah.
- 4:05Yes.
- 4:06Yes.
- 4:09Ha ha ha.
- 4:09Lego meth lab.
- 4:11Yeah.
- 4:12Bay show coming soon.
- 4:13Buffalo bills.
- 4:14Well,
- 4:14from silence of the lambs complete with
- 4:17the low in the basket basket.
- 4:21Oh, if they make Buffalo bills,
- 4:29well from silence lamps,
- 4:31I will be the first in line.
- 4:33And there'll be like a mirror right
- 4:35outside of it,
- 4:36like the full-length mirror.
- 4:37So you need...
- 4:40I will tell you, like,
- 4:41Legos are my therapy.
- 4:42It's what kind of gets my mind off
- 4:44of other things.
- 4:45And it's just an accomplishment, right?
- 4:48And so, damn it, Wayne.
- 4:53So I've put together a third of it
- 4:55so far.
- 4:56And it starts with the meth table and
- 4:58the blue meth.
- 4:59So it's all the components to make the
- 5:01meth and then the tray of blue meth.
- 5:05at the end um and then you build
- 5:07the rv around around that so i've got
- 5:11all the chemical the chemistry set and the
- 5:16blue meth already built i don't that's
- 5:23kind of putting the cart before the horse
- 5:24isn't it like i feel like you have
- 5:26to have
- 5:28the RV first before you can ever start
- 5:31making meth.
- 5:31I mean, you have to have the location.
- 5:33Like I understand what they're doing,
- 5:36but like, it's kind of backwards there.
- 5:39Uh, probably so Travis,
- 5:42we probably get a flag from that.
- 5:43Yeah.
- 5:44Uh, Scott,
- 5:45could you create a CrossFit games Lego
- 5:47set?
- 5:48So I did put together a gym.
- 5:50Um, they, they made a gym set.
- 5:53I've put that together.
- 5:55Um,
- 5:58a dense i do a thousand piece puzzles
- 6:01but to each his own so that that
- 6:03lego set is a thousand pieces so it's
- 6:07just like a puzzle you're clicking it
- 6:08together um are we talking about
- 6:12heisenberg we in fact are the lego version
- 6:17yeah uh what's next the barbie brothel
- 6:21Does it come with a Lego Heisenberg in
- 6:25Justice Draws from the very first episode
- 6:29when he's running around?
- 6:30Because that would be fantastic.
- 6:31He does have the yellow suits.
- 6:35But I don't see the skivvies, man.
- 6:37And I told my daughter what I want
- 6:39for Christmas is her to make me an
- 6:41itty-bitty pair of briefs to hang off the
- 6:43mirror.
- 6:47That'd be fantastic.
- 6:49Yeah, so...
- 6:51But anyway, just so people know,
- 6:54Breaking Bad is my favorite show.
- 6:56My dog is named Walter White.
- 6:59I love the show.
- 7:00And I saw a Lego set for the
- 7:05Home Alone house.
- 7:07Yeah, that does exist.
- 7:10That's got to be ginormous.
- 7:12Yeah.
- 7:12But when you could talk about those big
- 7:14ones, you're talking like eight hundred,
- 7:16nine hundred dollars for a set.
- 7:18Versus Legos.
- 7:19Yep.
- 7:21some stuff that if you really wanted to
- 7:22you could make a spaceship out of it
- 7:25right right but they have some like big
- 7:29ones like my nephew just did the daily
- 7:32bugle from spider-man like the whole like
- 7:35and it came with like twenty eight little
- 7:37people and yeah crazy the underground gay
- 7:46haunt scene complete with glory holes and
- 7:48poppers all right
- 7:54The Canadian border.
- 7:56Okay, Clayson,
- 7:57I need a nine-minute show to get me
- 7:58to finish my five-hour drive to the
- 8:00Canadian border this morning.
- 8:02Is Ken delivering blue meth to the
- 8:05Canadians?
- 8:07I don't think the Canadians can handle
- 8:09blue meth, but if that's what he's doing,
- 8:10he's got more power to him.
- 8:14Jay Birch,
- 8:15as a chemistry teacher at one time,
- 8:16I've had all the Breaking Bad questions.
- 8:18Oh, I bet.
- 8:21He lives in Texas.
- 8:22It's awful close to that Mexican border.
- 8:24A hundred percent.
- 8:30A hundred percent.
- 8:31Is that what they,
- 8:31is that what they call the meth house
- 8:33now?
- 8:33Mom's house.
- 8:34Mom's house.
- 8:36When you get pulled over by the
- 8:37authorities.
- 8:39Like having a, a bar called the library.
- 8:44there's one here in columbus exactly
- 8:46entitled the library it's right um outside
- 8:49off of osu campus ohio state university
- 8:52campus we used to have there used to
- 8:55be one in tibeto and then there was
- 8:57a now it's a restaurant in the restaurant
- 9:01right by my house called the library
- 9:05pretty good o'clock did you also like
- 9:06better call saul i did i will say
- 9:10it took
- 9:12It was a little slow season one and
- 9:14two,
- 9:14but then I thought after that it was
- 9:16as good as Breaking Bad.
- 9:20Jake made a Lord of the Rings set
- 9:22once.
- 9:22It was missing an elf.
- 9:23It was Legolas.
- 9:26Dad jokes for days.
- 9:28Shout out to Mr.
- 9:29Jake Chapman for being the UK's
- 9:32representative for Coaches Congress now.
- 9:35It's all official.
- 9:35Good for him.
- 9:38The man is moving and grooving.
- 9:40He is.
- 9:41Well deserved, man.
- 9:42If there's somebody who loves and preaches
- 9:46and lives by the methodology on that side
- 9:48of the pond,
- 9:48he is definitely a good one to pick
- 9:51to be in that leadership role.
- 9:53Good job, dude.
- 9:58so the next thing i was i was
- 10:00going to talk about is yesterday in our
- 10:03conversation about what is elite fitness i
- 10:06made a mention that my first ever workout
- 10:10was murph yes i have gotten some blowback
- 10:14from some people saying that that is
- 10:17irresponsible of a gym to allow murph to
- 10:20be my first ever workout
- 10:25And I'm like,
- 10:27if you saw the version I did,
- 10:29like it's not irresponsible at all.
- 10:34And so I said yesterday that if you
- 10:38wanted to know what the version was,
- 10:40CrossFit actually did a documentary on me
- 10:43in twenty twenty.
- 10:44It's out on YouTube.
- 10:46I'm going to show a clip from that
- 10:49that shows the Murph and how I did
- 10:53it.
- 10:55This video was done in a very dark
- 10:58time in my life where I was just
- 11:01coming off several back procedures.
- 11:04Things were not awesome.
- 11:06But it's out there.
- 11:07It's called The Wind of Change.
- 11:09It's on CrossFit's YouTube.
- 11:15And I'll go ahead and share that now.
- 11:18Look at that guy.
- 11:23It was eleven, eleven, eleven.
- 11:25What better day to have is your day
- 11:27one than the date that's all ones.
- 11:30And then the workout that was on their
- 11:33board was Murph.
- 11:35What was going through your head in
- 11:36reality?
- 11:36I gotcha.
- 11:38Bringing me into this.
- 11:40I knew if I had you consistently work
- 11:43out for three minutes or more,
- 11:45I knew that you would be excited.
- 11:48That I was not hesitant or scared or
- 11:50frightened about you coming in and seeing
- 11:52me.
- 11:53I was scared.
- 11:54I was confident for you.
- 11:56So just like any other class,
- 11:58like we're going to scale it down for
- 11:59this guy.
- 11:59No problem.
- 12:00Like, he'll be fine.
- 12:01When we built our relationship as
- 12:02neighbors and you were a competitive
- 12:03swimmer and all that kind of stuff.
- 12:05When I knew that, when I had,
- 12:07when you were working out for two or
- 12:08three minutes,
- 12:09I saw this glow come over you.
- 12:10And I was like, done.
- 12:13I told him that I wanted to be
- 12:14an athlete again.
- 12:16And he said, you are an athlete.
- 12:18We just got to bring it out.
- 12:19I went all at it.
- 12:20I did.
- 12:26So you can see that my Murph at
- 12:29that time,
- 12:29when I first went to a CrossFit gym,
- 12:31was walking as fast as I could back
- 12:33and forth across the gym and then doing
- 12:35five pull-ups on the ring rows,
- 12:41ten push-ups on a bar elevated up off
- 12:44the floor,
- 12:45and then fifteen squats down to a box
- 12:48and stand up.
- 12:52I did that for ten rounds.
- 12:53I didn't do the number of reps of
- 12:55Murph.
- 12:56I didn't do the mile runs.
- 12:58I didn't wear a vest.
- 12:59I had plenty of weight on.
- 13:01I didn't need to add extra at that
- 13:02moment.
- 13:04That's how I did it at five hundred
- 13:05pounds.
- 13:08Let me say something to all the people
- 13:09who might have been telling you that was
- 13:11irresponsible.
- 13:12If they'd have made you do Murph,
- 13:15allowed you to do Murph, whatever,
- 13:17as written,
- 13:18you never would have came back.
- 13:21No.
- 13:25As you can hear him talk, that's Marcus.
- 13:28He was my coach.
- 13:28He was my neighbor at the time.
- 13:30The documentary goes in.
- 13:32The documentary is really about how we met
- 13:34and how he pulled me to the CrossFit
- 13:35gym as a guy over five hundred pounds.
- 13:39That's really what the story is of the
- 13:40documentary.
- 13:41It just so happens that that first time
- 13:44was Murph.
- 13:46Right.
- 13:47And so he was trying to light a
- 13:51spark in me.
- 13:51He knew that if I could just get
- 13:54the feeling that I could accomplish
- 13:56something and that I could do it in
- 13:59a way that was fun,
- 14:01that he had me hooked.
- 14:03And that's what happened.
- 14:05Right.
- 14:08He got you in the door.
- 14:11Got you moving.
- 14:12Got you.
- 14:12Like you said,
- 14:13I'm certain you being competitive swimmer
- 14:16for most of your life at that point.
- 14:19Right.
- 14:19Oh, wait, I can do stuff again.
- 14:21Holy shit.
- 14:23Yeah, dude, that's fantastic.
- 14:25I live for that kind of stuff.
- 14:27You do not, if you just go,
- 14:28especially if you get,
- 14:30somebody just drops in,
- 14:31somebody just randomly decides to, hey,
- 14:33I want to try this CrossFit stuff.
- 14:34You don't get to pick what the workout
- 14:36is whenever you show up.
- 14:38You don't know nothing about cherry
- 14:39picking at the time.
- 14:40So whatever's on the board,
- 14:43that's what you're doing.
- 14:45And it's up to the coach.
- 14:46It's on the coach.
- 14:47It's on the coach's responsibility to make
- 14:51sure that it gets done safely and
- 14:55for that person,
- 14:56especially if it's their first time in
- 14:57there.
- 14:57God forbid, God forbid,
- 14:59but especially if they're five hundred
- 15:02pounds, you need to know how to, hey,
- 15:03how are we going to attack this today?
- 15:05It doesn't even matter that you were five
- 15:07hundred pounds.
- 15:07I got a dude that just started back
- 15:09with us who is probably two seventy
- 15:15somewhere up in that area.
- 15:15And he's my height.
- 15:17He might have an inch or two on
- 15:19me.
- 15:20And it's
- 15:22I had him Wednesday morning.
- 15:23I had to make sure that we got
- 15:24a good workout and he did not overdo
- 15:27it and hurt himself because it doesn't
- 15:28matter what it is,
- 15:30whether it's a Murph or whether it's a
- 15:31workout I did Wednesday morning,
- 15:33which was not Murph by any stretch of
- 15:34the imagination,
- 15:35you can still hurt yourself if allowed to.
- 15:39And that guy's never coming back.
- 15:41And I think that back to the argument
- 15:43of yesterday, um,
- 15:45That was day one of my journey on
- 15:49the elite fitness road, right?
- 15:53And eighteen months after that,
- 15:55I did bodyweight pull-ups.
- 15:57I did full air squats.
- 15:59I did full push-ups.
- 16:01And I ran both miles.
- 16:03And I did it all in an hour.
- 16:05Eighteen months after being five hundred
- 16:07pounds, you know, I did that.
- 16:09I didn't do it with a vest.
- 16:10So I can't say I did it at
- 16:12RX, but I did it.
- 16:13I did everything body weight,
- 16:15a hundred pull-ups, two hundred push-ups,
- 16:17three hundred air squats.
- 16:20So what it did is it got me
- 16:23on that journey to elite fitness with a
- 16:25goal in mind of completing this in a
- 16:27way that really made me feel accomplished.
- 16:31And that eighteen months later,
- 16:32when I was running that last mile,
- 16:35like I started sobbing.
- 16:38because I could not believe how far I
- 16:40had come in such a short amount of
- 16:42time with, with CrossFit.
- 16:46Like it, it saved my life.
- 16:48And all of that came like flooding over
- 16:50me right there in that moment.
- 16:53Rightfully so.
- 16:56Rightfully so.
- 16:57You felt something.
- 16:58Holy shit.
- 17:00I'm not going to die.
- 17:02I found something I can,
- 17:04I I'm not going to die.
- 17:06I'm going to see my kid grow up.
- 17:07I'm going to be with my wife for,
- 17:08like, this is it.
- 17:11Dude, that's an amazing feeling, right?
- 17:15Like, holy shit, there is an answer.
- 17:18There is something for me.
- 17:20Dude, that's amazing in and of itself.
- 17:23And there's so many things that happen in
- 17:24that beginning timeframe,
- 17:27like getting your first body weight pull
- 17:29up,
- 17:29getting your first twenty four inch box
- 17:31jump,
- 17:32like where you're over the freaking moon
- 17:35that your body's capable of doing those
- 17:37things.
- 17:38And I don't know another fitness
- 17:40methodology that gives you that,
- 17:42that pushes you to that.
- 17:45And that's why in my mind,
- 17:46when I hear elite fitness,
- 17:48I look at CrossFit as that.
- 17:51I may not be an elite athlete yet,
- 17:55but it is elite fitness because it is
- 17:57pushing me beyond my boundaries to do
- 18:00things that I have never,
- 18:01ever done before.
- 18:04When they say forging elite fitness,
- 18:06that is what,
- 18:07that's the same thing I'm thinking of is
- 18:09that compared to, yes,
- 18:11once you get within it,
- 18:12there are levels to it.
- 18:16I am pretty damn fit for my age
- 18:18group.
- 18:19I am not Jason Hopper by any stretch
- 18:21of imagination.
- 18:22But compared to what's going on outside,
- 18:25I am elite.
- 18:27I know people my age that look like
- 18:28they're sixty because they don't do it at
- 18:33all.
- 18:34I walk my dog twice a day.
- 18:37Good for you.
- 18:39Good for you.
- 18:41They look at me like I'm, man,
- 18:43how do you do that?
- 18:44Because I want to.
- 18:47i want to be able to chase my
- 18:48eight-year-old around because i want to be
- 18:50able to do all of these crit like
- 18:52i think it's cool that's why i want
- 18:54i want to i want to i want
- 18:56to fight for my life for the rest
- 18:58of it like and i found a way
- 18:59to do that so can you so can
- 19:02anyone else that's elite so i actually um
- 19:09i i was texting with tyler after the
- 19:11show yesterday
- 19:14Good.
- 19:14Tell him to unblock me on freaking
- 19:15Instagram.
- 19:17And so we, we just had, you know,
- 19:20basically saying all this was in good fun
- 19:23and it actually created a great talking
- 19:25point and discussion about what is elite
- 19:28fitness and where do you go from here
- 19:30there.
- 19:32And so like,
- 19:35I listened to them every week.
- 19:36It's, I wasn't trying to like throw shade.
- 19:38It was just,
- 19:40No, not at all.
- 19:40When you're in the offseason,
- 19:41you're trying to find topics to talk
- 19:43about.
- 19:44And I thought that was a great topic
- 19:45to talk about as we're seeing what
- 19:47CrossFit's trying to do with their
- 19:49campaigns or their reels.
- 19:53And in the response to that,
- 19:57what I wanted to ask you is,
- 20:01can you sum up CrossFit in a ninety-second
- 20:04reel?
- 20:05Nothing.
- 20:08The more I thought about this overnight,
- 20:11I think that is an impossible task.
- 20:14And I know people are lauding Hiller and
- 20:20Coffee Pods and Wads and Matsuza for
- 20:23putting together that reel that's like,
- 20:27it's something, have fun, don't die.
- 20:28Be safe, have fun, don't die.
- 20:36It's a movie.
- 20:37It's a movie trailer that's coming out
- 20:39that they just,
- 20:39they kind of like laid out the CrossFit
- 20:41stuff over it.
- 20:42And so where I,
- 20:47I don't think that sums it up either.
- 20:48I don't think that sums up my journey
- 20:51on the road to getting to CrossFit and
- 20:54becoming healthy.
- 20:56I don't think that speaks to that
- 20:57population of CrossFit.
- 21:00And I think that's where we,
- 21:01we have a hard time.
- 21:03They're every walk of life walking through
- 21:06those doors to a CrossFit gym,
- 21:08and you can't speak to everybody at once
- 21:12in one reel.
- 21:16Think about this, Scott.
- 21:18What's one of the running tropes for
- 21:22CrossFitters?
- 21:24what's like the one rule about CrossFit,
- 21:25you have to talk about it, right?
- 21:28Because I can talk somebody's head off
- 21:29about it and it's gonna last a whole
- 21:30lot longer than ninety seconds because
- 21:33there's so much to it.
- 21:35Because there's so many different things
- 21:37we could talk about.
- 21:39When I get somebody new in the gym,
- 21:42I'm coaching for the first time,
- 21:44I have to pull back.
- 21:47to not flood them with so much information
- 21:51at once.
- 21:52I have to pull back to go, hey,
- 21:53you know what?
- 21:54I just want you to come here tomorrow.
- 21:57Keep showing up.
- 21:58And as we go,
- 21:59I will give you more and I will
- 22:01give you more and I will give you
- 22:02more and I will give you more.
- 22:04Right now, just show up.
- 22:06That's all I want to do.
- 22:07I have to pull myself back because, yeah,
- 22:09absolutely, Jenny.
- 22:11It's the opposite of Fight Club.
- 22:12The one rule about it is that you
- 22:13have to talk about it.
- 22:15Because if you don't, like you said,
- 22:17a ninety second reel,
- 22:18it's going to look cool.
- 22:19It'll be flashing.
- 22:20It'll be it might be funny.
- 22:21It'll get people engaged with that reel on
- 22:24social media.
- 22:26But it's not going to tell you what
- 22:27it actually is.
- 22:28It might take you might get an idea
- 22:30of part of what it is because you're
- 22:32going to see its highlights.
- 22:33When pulling me into the CrossFit gym,
- 22:35took my neighbor having a conversation
- 22:37with me and actually tricking me into
- 22:40doing other things before we got to the
- 22:43gym.
- 22:45He's a good coach.
- 22:46Right?
- 22:46And like I said yesterday,
- 22:49I had no idea what CrossFit was before
- 22:52I walked into that door that day.
- 22:55And the piece that kind of is missing,
- 22:57I haven't watched the full doc in a
- 22:59while because, again,
- 23:00it wasn't a great time in my life
- 23:02when we filmed it.
- 23:04And I will go back and watch it
- 23:05this weekend, but it's only ten minutes.
- 23:07I don't know why I'm putting it off.
- 23:09But the community that day,
- 23:13The other members of that gym that loved
- 23:15on me that day,
- 23:17that was a major factor.
- 23:20To be accepted for my version of it
- 23:23and for them to high-five me and
- 23:24congratulate me and give me props during
- 23:29that time was immense.
- 23:31And you can't capture that feeling in a
- 23:34reel.
- 23:37When you've been living...
- 23:39almost a recluse life because you're,
- 23:43you're embarrassed about where you've
- 23:44gotten to in life.
- 23:46And you go to a gym,
- 23:48which is probably the most feared place
- 23:49for you as a five hundred pound person.
- 23:53And people are high-fiving you for what
- 23:54you're doing.
- 23:56Like, holy shit.
- 23:58That was a complete game changer.
- 24:02And you're in that mentality too,
- 24:03where you're just like, well,
- 24:04I only did this and they don't care.
- 24:07Right.
- 24:07Exactly.
- 24:08That is exactly it.
- 24:13Yeah, but I don't want to hear.
- 24:15Yeah.
- 24:16Yeah.
- 24:16I don't want to hear.
- 24:17Yeah.
- 24:17But I really, really don't.
- 24:21When I am coaching and I'm managed,
- 24:23I get somebody who needs to be scaled
- 24:25for whatever reason.
- 24:27And I nail it.
- 24:29And they're laying on the ground at the
- 24:30end of it, just like everybody else is.
- 24:33And I come, you know, dude,
- 24:34you just killed that.
- 24:36Well, I mean, but I only, no, no,
- 24:37no, no, no.
- 24:38I don't want, well, I mean,
- 24:39I don't want, but only,
- 24:41I don't want none of that.
- 24:43Take it, accept it.
- 24:44You just killed that.
- 24:47You did a version of what everybody else
- 24:49did and you just smashed it.
- 24:52You got a good workout in.
- 24:53You just spent an hour taking care of
- 24:55yourself, doing something good for you.
- 24:57That's amazing.
- 24:58You should be proud of that.
- 25:00get up, get off my floor.
- 25:02I'll see you tomorrow.
- 25:04Yeah.
- 25:04Clean up your sweat.
- 25:06Yeah.
- 25:07Move along.
- 25:10And never once,
- 25:12never once did I feel like pushed out
- 25:13the door or hurried out the door,
- 25:16or if I had questions,
- 25:17they were always asked or were answered.
- 25:20And yeah, what a, yeah.
- 25:23The only time I, and I, it's,
- 25:25it's jokingly and it's like tomorrow
- 25:27morning, I got seven,
- 25:28I coached seven and eight.
- 25:30And when seven a.m.
- 25:32gets done and like eight a.m.
- 25:33sticks and start, I'm like, hey,
- 25:34I love every single one of y'all.
- 25:36I need y'all to go that way.
- 25:39You can go lay on the floor and
- 25:40outside the floor if you want.
- 25:41I'm perfectly fine with that.
- 25:42I just need this floor space right now
- 25:44so I can start this next class.
- 25:47Yeah.
- 25:48So anyway,
- 25:49I just wanted to clarify all of that
- 25:51from yesterday that nobody was
- 25:53irresponsible in the making of me.
- 25:58I didn't die.
- 25:59I had fun.
- 26:02was safe um so yeah uh another thing
- 26:08i wanted to bring up is i can't
- 26:10remember if you were on the show or
- 26:11not um but they there was a day
- 26:14where i was talking about the wfp swim
- 26:16event and how it would be a five
- 26:18hundred meter swim i think you were on
- 26:19that day yeah and i was trying and
- 26:22i and i was talking about how aggressive
- 26:23the time cap was
- 26:27Lucy Campbell made a story talking about
- 26:31the swim event.
- 26:32And I just want to play it because
- 26:35I don't know if she's talking about me
- 26:37or what.
- 26:39And then she says something that confirms
- 26:40what I said.
- 26:44So here's her story.
- 26:47And the story is no longer available.
- 26:49Of course it isn't.
- 26:50Isn't that awesome?
- 26:54This is the most professional show on
- 26:55YouTube.
- 26:57Son of a gun.
- 26:58Well, anyway,
- 26:59she talks about that there's a lot of
- 27:01people talking about the times for this
- 27:02five hundred and some have it way too
- 27:04slow.
- 27:05Some have it way too fast.
- 27:07And she said only a couple of people
- 27:09have it right in that like five second
- 27:12ish range of what she might do.
- 27:16And and then she says it's hard for
- 27:19her to really know because a five hundred
- 27:21meter swim is not a real event.
- 27:24And I think I talked about that that
- 27:26day.
- 27:26I did say that.
- 27:27She said that her whole life it was
- 27:29either four hundred meters or eight
- 27:30hundred meters.
- 27:31There was never a five hundred meter.
- 27:33Right.
- 27:34And and so anyway,
- 27:37I was going to share that,
- 27:37but so much for that.
- 27:43So, yeah,
- 27:44that's why I was trying to prove, Craig,
- 27:46that I actually kind of knew what I
- 27:48was talking about.
- 27:49Yeah.
- 27:50As it turns out,
- 27:51you did swim quite a bit.
- 27:53Yeah.
- 27:54And I actually swam those events.
- 27:59Yeah.
- 28:01That's what you did.
- 28:03I saw it, Scott, and thought of you.
- 28:05Well, thank you.
- 28:08It did prove that I knew what I
- 28:09was talking about a little bit.
- 28:13At least an idea.
- 28:15I'm just curious to know if she thinks
- 28:17I was close or not to her time.
- 28:22Because I've never seen her swim other
- 28:25than at the games in twenty three.
- 28:28And so I don't know what her times
- 28:30ever were for those like a four hundred
- 28:32or an eight hundred.
- 28:34If I knew those,
- 28:34I could probably get pretty close.
- 28:36I would imagine.
- 28:40Yeah.
- 28:41But I'm not concerned about her.
- 28:44I'm concerned about the rest of the field.
- 28:45Correct.
- 28:47Especially now that we've got...
- 28:51Jimmy Schmitz from down the street now.
- 28:54Troy McClure.
- 28:55Troy McClure.
- 28:55Hi, I'm Troy McClure.
- 29:01You may remember me from sub it in
- 29:05for what's his name?
- 29:07I think we're up to like twelve or
- 29:09thirteen.
- 29:11The list.
- 29:15Spence had a list and it's not the
- 29:17whole list.
- 29:18Yeah,
- 29:18it was eight or ten when he put
- 29:20the list out.
- 29:22It had Hopper on it.
- 29:24It had Sturt and Semenza,
- 29:27but it did not have Hatfield or a
- 29:31J. Crouch.
- 29:31Yeah, Holly hit me up yesterday,
- 29:40and that's when she said –
- 29:43what is it?
- 29:44It's, it's keep saying Troy McClure.
- 29:45Cause that's all I can think of,
- 29:47but whatever his name is again, somebody,
- 29:50I have absolutely no idea who's like do
- 29:52this.
- 29:53Right.
- 29:54Like never heard his name at a,
- 29:55at a regional at a,
- 29:58or whatever you want to call them now,
- 30:00the sectional sanctionals CrossFit
- 30:03sanction events,
- 30:04like never heard that dude's name before.
- 30:06And now all of a sudden he's taken
- 30:07Jake,
- 30:07Jake Crouch's place who I don't know if
- 30:09y'all know this or not.
- 30:10Jake Crouch is fairly fit.
- 30:12Yeah.
- 30:14Yeah, he was, what, top ten for sure.
- 30:16Yeah.
- 30:16Or maybe seventh, did I see?
- 30:18I don't know.
- 30:20He was up there for certain.
- 30:22Turns out he doesn't want to fly from
- 30:24Australia to Copenhagen three days before
- 30:29Christmas, which is so weird.
- 30:31I don't understand why anybody would not
- 30:33want to do that.
- 30:35So I want to ask you this question
- 30:37because... I'm not going.
- 30:39I'm not taking it back, Phil.
- 30:40Sorry,
- 30:41I got my own thing going on the
- 30:42week before that.
- 30:43This is the only piece of WFP we're
- 30:44going to talk about because literally
- 30:46Siobhan hit it at all, right?
- 30:49Right.
- 30:51You keep saying that who wants to go
- 30:54there during Christmas?
- 30:56But they keep saying we want to be
- 30:59professional athletes, right?
- 31:03Am I correct that the NBA plays on
- 31:06Christmas?
- 31:07NFL does too.
- 31:08NFL plays on Christmas?
- 31:09Yes.
- 31:11think even the nhl plays on christmas i
- 31:14have no idea i don't watch but sure
- 31:20i think it's they have no off season
- 31:25that too if the if the one season
- 31:27happened during christmas they would all
- 31:30be there because they need to be there
- 31:33right
- 31:34Correct.
- 31:35I think it's that there is no off-season
- 31:37now.
- 31:38It used to be you would compete from
- 31:40February.
- 31:41You would do a tune-up with Waterpalooza.
- 31:44You would do the Open in February.
- 31:46You'd be done by August.
- 31:48And then you'd have the off-season to
- 31:50rest, recover, build strength,
- 31:53do whatever you need to do.
- 31:55Now with WFP, you have nothing off.
- 31:58You are competing all year long.
- 32:04My thought process is there's only one or
- 32:09two ways to pivot and get out of
- 32:11this with a viable league.
- 32:15And that is use the dead time between
- 32:19the last semifinal and the games to do
- 32:21a tune-up event.
- 32:25Or do,
- 32:27and it kind of was coming up with
- 32:28Jethro, with Siobhan.
- 32:31I actually thought about this last night,
- 32:32and that is have a spectacle like you
- 32:37have all this travel money that you're
- 32:38letting people go all over the world with.
- 32:40Take the contract money,
- 32:42make a huge prize purse,
- 32:44and do a traveling...
- 32:47spectacle that after each city you do one
- 32:52or two events in each city and it
- 32:53has different like topographical elements
- 32:57that you can do different styles of
- 32:59crossfit in right and then you eliminate x
- 33:02number of people after every city bracket
- 33:05style and then all of the money goes
- 33:07to like first second and third
- 33:12You mean like a regular con?
- 33:14But you pay for their travel from city
- 33:18to city to do this.
- 33:21It's a traveling show.
- 33:24It's the WWE.
- 33:26And it's like episode TV.
- 33:31You watch Zurich and it's an hour long.
- 33:36right and then and then in the next
- 33:38couple days you watch berlin and it's an
- 33:41hour long not these like marathon weekends
- 33:46of tour stops it's like the wwe no
- 33:53i absolutely understand well except for
- 33:56it's it's not scripted except what it's
- 33:58not scripted and it's not every traveling
- 34:00service yes jenny that's the other thing i
- 34:02was thinking of but it's
- 34:05It's smaller events.
- 34:07It's not as often as WWE, right?
- 34:09At WWE, it's like, what,
- 34:10three nights a week at this point?
- 34:12Something like that.
- 34:13But it's smaller events.
- 34:15Like you said, over a time period,
- 34:18pay down the top three people,
- 34:20and you move on.
- 34:22That's a traveling show.
- 34:25It's a traveling circus.
- 34:26It's the WWE,
- 34:27whatever you want to call it.
- 34:30Travis says, the majority don't have kids,
- 34:31can't use Christmas as an excuse.
- 34:33They just don't want to do it.
- 34:36How many NFL players have kids?
- 34:38How many NBA players have kids?
- 34:40And they still go play?
- 34:43They get paid to play.
- 34:46I understand their offseason is whenever
- 34:48they make it.
- 34:49That used to be the case.
- 34:50I don't think it is with WFP now.
- 34:53If you are contractually obligated.
- 34:55Well, I see what Stan's saying.
- 34:57Their offseason is whenever they make it.
- 34:59Haley's offseason is right now because she
- 35:01ain't going.
- 35:02True.
- 35:04Same thing with the other ones that
- 35:07dropped out.
- 35:08No, no, no.
- 35:08This is going to be my offseason, period.
- 35:12Why?
- 35:13Because the Open starts in February,
- 35:16and that matters more.
- 35:20Kevin Doyle,
- 35:20do they still get the full value of
- 35:22their contracts if they skip Copenhagen?
- 35:24Nothing has been revealed about the first
- 35:26year of contracts or the pay structure.
- 35:29But I have heard that all of their
- 35:32contracts were based on tour stops one and
- 35:34two,
- 35:35with the finals being a prize purse for
- 35:39points overall at the end of the season.
- 35:42But not anything in your contract.
- 35:46If you went to one and two,
- 35:48you got the full gamut.
- 35:54Travis,
- 35:54you'd think the contract would say you
- 35:56have to do all three events.
- 35:57I don't think it does.
- 35:58I think it only says you have to
- 35:59do the first two.
- 36:00Stop using logic, Travis.
- 36:02You know better than that.
- 36:05The American Gladiator Dinner Roadshow.
- 36:07I love it.
- 36:09Well,
- 36:09I think it would be taken a little
- 36:11more seriously than that.
- 36:12I don't want it to be gimmicky.
- 36:14I think you can do fun outdoor events
- 36:16in different places or at a different
- 36:19location where it is CrossFit.
- 36:24And, and still, so still be legit,
- 36:27but not make it like a whole weekend
- 36:29of viewing,
- 36:30make it an hour of viewing or two
- 36:33hours at tops.
- 36:35So, so make it reps ahead.
- 36:40No, that's not legit, dude.
- 36:42I'm not saying it's not,
- 36:43I'm not saying it's legit, but like,
- 36:45that's the timeframe you're looking at.
- 36:48That's even shorter.
- 36:49Yeah.
- 36:49Yeah.
- 36:50Because it was done in between events.
- 36:54You'd be better off scaling that up than
- 36:56trying to scale back everything back to
- 36:58what they already have going on.
- 36:59So Jethro was making a good point.
- 37:01And I don't want to steal his ideas,
- 37:04but I'm going to say the challenge events
- 37:06on MTV.
- 37:08It started out as Road Rules and The
- 37:11Real World.
- 37:11And they would have the Road Rules Real
- 37:12World Challenge.
- 37:14And then that got cut just to the
- 37:15challenge.
- 37:16And then every episode is one hour.
- 37:19And they show like how you get to
- 37:22the final event.
- 37:23And then the final event is a head
- 37:25to head.
- 37:26Whoever loses goes home.
- 37:31And it,
- 37:31and so it doesn't have to be gimmicky.
- 37:33It can be a hard test with maybe
- 37:36like you all do it.
- 37:38The top.
- 37:39Eighteen of twenty move on and the bottom
- 37:41to fight to see who goes home.
- 37:46in a one event thing, right?
- 37:47So you're adding excitement to it that
- 37:50isn't traditional in the CrossFit game
- 37:53sense because now you're differentiating
- 37:55yourself,
- 37:57but it becomes event TV instead of a
- 38:01whole weekend of trying to find the
- 38:03fittest.
- 38:04We already have the thing that finds the
- 38:06fittest.
- 38:07Let's find something that's fun and they
- 38:09can make some money at.
- 38:11Yeah, right.
- 38:20i would certainly watch a comp in early
- 38:22mid-july with first twenty athletes that
- 38:24missed out on going to the games that's
- 38:27a possibility too absolutely i would watch
- 38:30that it'd be fun to watch it it's
- 38:34it's trying to think of a good comparison
- 38:37here but it's watching the guys that are
- 38:40probably going to be next up in the
- 38:41next year or two go against each other
- 38:44right give you a better grasp on the
- 38:46season
- 38:48going forward right because these people
- 38:50are already going to the games these are
- 38:51people that almost made the games for
- 38:54whatever reason right right and so like
- 38:57now these this is like a challenger series
- 38:59like they're coming up this is going to
- 39:01be these are the guys that are trying
- 39:03to get to where these guys that are
- 39:05competing in the next couple of weeks are
- 39:07going i would watch that if it was
- 39:11on youtube
- 39:12ideally i would say you take like two
- 39:14weeks and you film it all and then
- 39:16you release it as a as a television
- 39:18show with ndas but we have proven in
- 39:21this space that nobody can keep their
- 39:24mouth shut it's just not a thing everybody
- 39:29here is talking about the millions nfl
- 39:30players getting that's why they plan
- 39:31christmas dude that is not what motivates
- 39:35athletes
- 39:37Athletes want to win.
- 39:38Money is a factor.
- 39:39Don't get me wrong.
- 39:40But it is not the sole motivation what
- 39:42takes athletes to competition.
- 39:45There is a gene inside them that they
- 39:47want to go prove that they can beat
- 39:49everybody there.
- 39:49A prime example of money not mattering is
- 39:55guys like Peyton Manning and Drew Brees
- 39:58who restructured contracts in order to pay
- 40:00the linemen that were protecting them so
- 40:02that they could win football games.
- 40:05I had a better shot at winning football
- 40:06games.
- 40:09They were still getting paid.
- 40:10Absolutely.
- 40:11But they were willing to take less to
- 40:12make sure that they had that parts in
- 40:15place to make sure that they got what
- 40:16they needed so that they could win games.
- 40:20Can't really say NFL players make millions
- 40:22in comparison.
- 40:23They didn't get that kind of money for
- 40:24years.
- 40:25They had a job.
- 40:26They did it.
- 40:27And if you didn't show up,
- 40:28someone else would take your place.
- 40:30Every single time.
- 40:31Look at the walkouts, dude.
- 40:32Like the strike years and whatnot.
- 40:35They played with whoever showed up.
- 40:39It didn't matter.
- 40:40And some of those strike players earned a
- 40:42spot on the real roster.
- 40:45That means somebody lost their job.
- 40:49Yeah.
- 40:49That kind of stuff is the same thing
- 40:51to me as people are like,
- 40:52I'm not going this year.
- 40:53Okay, don't.
- 40:59Cool.
- 41:00Good for you, buddy.
- 41:01There's fifteen guys behind you who are
- 41:03trying desperately to get to the games.
- 41:05You just gave one of them a spot.
- 41:07Yeah.
- 41:10Exactly, Mike.
- 41:11Shane Falco for life.
- 41:15Scars heal.
- 41:16Bruises fade.
- 41:17Scars heal.
- 41:18Or chicks dig scars.
- 41:20Glory lasts forever.
- 41:21Yeah.
- 41:23He's the heart, man.
- 41:26He's the heart.
- 41:28I just watched that like a week ago.
- 41:30I need to watch it again.
- 41:31I haven't seen it, bro.
- 41:33Fantastic.
- 41:33Good.
- 41:36So good.
- 41:37That's about all I want to talk about
- 41:39WFP today.
- 41:40Good.
- 41:40So I'm over it.
- 41:42Yep.
- 41:43I'm so over it.
- 41:44Last thing I wanted to talk to you
- 41:45about is I watched the movie Playdate on
- 41:50Prime.
- 41:50Oh, yeah.
- 41:52With Reacher.
- 41:52Yeah.
- 41:55Alan Richson, is that his name?
- 41:57Alan Richson, yeah.
- 41:58And Kevin James.
- 42:01Kevin James.
- 42:02I have to tell you,
- 42:04it may be the dumbest movie I've ever
- 42:06seen,
- 42:07but I don't know if I've laughed as
- 42:09much as I have.
- 42:13I laughed as much as I did like
- 42:16during Dumb and Dumber or like a good
- 42:20old Adam Sandler movie.
- 42:22It has that kind of feel to it.
- 42:27The critics hate it.
- 42:30I never listen to critics.
- 42:33My wife and I could not stop laughing.
- 42:37I never listen to critics.
- 42:38Critics and Rotten Tomatoes both can kiss
- 42:41my ass.
- 42:41I don't listen to either one of them.
- 42:43If something looks good to me,
- 42:43I'm going to check it out.
- 42:44If I like it, cool.
- 42:45If I don't,
- 42:45moving right along with my life is not
- 42:47that important.
- 42:49It's certified fresh or rotten tomatoes.
- 42:51I don't care.
- 42:52You know how many movies I've seen that
- 42:54are certified fresh or rotten tomatoes
- 42:56that sucked or put me to sleep within
- 42:59the first twenty minutes?
- 43:01Like, no thank you.
- 43:03Yeah, my wife always comes at me with,
- 43:05well, it won an Academy Award.
- 43:07And I'm like, hey,
- 43:07how many Academy Award winners have we
- 43:09watched that we hated?
- 43:11Yeah, a lot.
- 43:12A lot.
- 43:15A lot.
- 43:15I'll say it's somewhat just boring, dude.
- 43:17Like,
- 43:19I'm good.
- 43:20I want to be entertained.
- 43:21I don't want some long drawn out thing
- 43:24where I got to kind of figure out
- 43:25what's happening and whatnot.
- 43:26Like give me a direct story.
- 43:27Give me a storyline.
- 43:29Make me laugh.
- 43:30Make me excited.
- 43:31Make me cry, whatever.
- 43:32That's perfectly fine.
- 43:33But at least give me something.
- 43:36All these,
- 43:36it's a moody atmospheric thriller.
- 43:39Fuck you.
- 43:39I'm not watching.
- 43:40Turn it off.
- 43:42want why why i wanted to to tell
- 43:44you about it is because i know dumb
- 43:45and dumber is one of your top five
- 43:47movies of all my favorite movie of all
- 43:49time therefore what's unique about this
- 43:54movie is kevin james actually is the
- 43:56straight man yeah and alan richson is the
- 44:00comedic and he
- 44:04he you know how like in those movies
- 44:06you have to overact if you don't overact
- 44:09it doesn't it just doesn't it doesn't play
- 44:11well yeah he goes all in i love
- 44:15it all in and it is definitely definitely
- 44:19i highly recommend it um as a watch
- 44:23love it no i'm here for it i'm
- 44:26here for it so mark walberg highly not
- 44:31recommend
- 44:33again so we're going to watch wicked two
- 44:42tomorrow you'll have to tell me about it
- 44:45next week because i i'm not going and
- 44:50then i shouldn't act that way because i
- 44:52actually like i go to the theater i
- 44:55watch musicals like they can be really
- 44:58good
- 45:01I was telling Jennifer this a while back,
- 45:04whoever, so it's based on Wizard of Oz,
- 45:06right?
- 45:06And like, it's all around there.
- 45:09Whoever came up with that story,
- 45:11like took L.
- 45:12Frank Bond's book or the movie or
- 45:14whatever, and it was like,
- 45:16how did Elphaba,
- 45:18the Wicked Witch of the West,
- 45:19get to be who she is?
- 45:21And like,
- 45:21put all that stuff together and go to
- 45:22the music for it and whatnot,
- 45:23did a phenomenal job.
- 45:25They really did.
- 45:26Like, it's worth the hype.
- 45:28No, I want to Travis.
- 45:29Is it good?
- 45:30Cause it looks,
- 45:31I have heard it is just like the
- 45:33book and I love the book.
- 45:38Mary Shelley's original Frankenstein is so
- 45:42freaking good as a book.
- 45:46Oh no.
- 45:49So, like,
- 45:50Frankenstein's been bastardized over the
- 45:52years into this green guy with the square
- 45:55head.
- 45:56That's not really, like, what the book is.
- 45:59Yeah.
- 46:02It's a story about humanity.
- 46:05Too artsy for him.
- 46:06I didn't know Travis could read.
- 46:11He didn't read the book.
- 46:15I think I was forced to read it
- 46:17in college.
- 46:18Probably.
- 46:19I don't think I picked it up just
- 46:21like, hey,
- 46:23I'm going to read Frankenstein today.
- 46:25That's just not me.
- 46:26I was probably forced to read it at
- 46:30some point.
- 46:38I knew it.
- 46:39I can't, Corey.
- 46:39Hence, I didn't read the book.
- 46:41Duh.
- 46:41I knew it.
- 46:41I knew it.
- 46:41I knew it.
- 46:43I knew it.
- 46:44Oh, man.
- 46:48no um i want to check it out
- 46:51i'll probably watch it if it is like
- 46:53travis says it where it's too artsy and
- 46:55like the pacing is weird and like that
- 46:57i have no problem turning it off halfway
- 46:58through i'll uh i'll try to watch it
- 47:02this weekend and since i have read the
- 47:04book and just see like is it really
- 47:07close to the book or is it too
- 47:11artsy or whatever sometimes i like artsy
- 47:13but it it has to be done well
- 47:17so
- 47:22Kevin Doyle.
- 47:23Sean Penn is class in one battle after
- 47:25another.
- 47:27Oh, that's the What's-His-Face movie.
- 47:36Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 47:41Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 47:42Oh, Workout.
- 47:43Worked out this morning.
- 47:47Yes, Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 47:50Chad was going to get his workout in.
- 47:54We had one you'd probably be interested in
- 47:56this morning.
- 47:56Scott,
- 47:57we did Regionals Linda from twenty
- 48:01eighteen.
- 48:03Oh, three more bells of death, baby.
- 48:08That's the first workout I ever judged.
- 48:11Live on the floor.
- 48:13Saved Taylor Detman.
- 48:15What was she before that?
- 48:17Life like a bunch of times as she
- 48:19was missing bench presses.
- 48:21Lifting it off her chest.
- 48:25But it's one I've always wanted to do.
- 48:27Jamie actually does that every New Year's
- 48:30Day.
- 48:31This was the first time I've ever done
- 48:32it.
- 48:33Yeah.
- 48:34I put a program out last week,
- 48:36and I'm kind of scrolling through,
- 48:37seeing what all the netcons look like and
- 48:39whatnot,
- 48:39like not just the radio conditioning
- 48:40pieces.
- 48:40I get to Friday, and it goes, regionals,
- 48:43Linda.
- 48:43And I was like, oh, all righty then.
- 48:47Here we go.
- 48:48Because I am a huge fan of barbells.
- 48:50So the worst part about it, honestly,
- 48:53was picking up everything after I was
- 48:55done.
- 48:56So I had like forty-fives all over the
- 48:58place, three barbells, et cetera,
- 49:00et cetera, et cetera.
- 49:01But
- 49:02It was pretty fun.
- 49:03I got to say,
- 49:04moving just one thing to the next,
- 49:06one thing to the next,
- 49:07one thing to the next.
- 49:09I was aerobically taxed way more than I
- 49:13thought I would be,
- 49:14like trying to catch my breath.
- 49:17Like squat clean, squat clean,
- 49:19squat clean, squat clean, put it down,
- 49:21step over.
- 49:23And they're like, oh shit,
- 49:25this is a two or a nine five
- 49:26pound barbell.
- 49:26I'm about to deadlift.
- 49:28I need to catch my breath before I
- 49:29start, you know, start, start doing sets,
- 49:31do smokes.
- 49:34Yeah.
- 49:34You,
- 49:35it's amazing how much you feel it laying
- 49:37back on the bench press.
- 49:39Yeah.
- 49:39Oh, and we do, you know,
- 49:43they did a set of seven or whatever
- 49:44it is.
- 49:44I'm like, okay,
- 49:44I got seven bench press and sit on
- 49:46a bench, lay back and be like,
- 49:48I don't want to move.
- 49:51I don't want to pick this thing up
- 49:52off the bench.
- 49:53I think that's actually a factor in the
- 49:55whole workout.
- 49:56The fact that you get to lay down,
- 49:59but you still have to work.
- 50:01Yeah.
- 50:02And you had to fight through that urge
- 50:03to not want to work out.
- 50:06The bench press was...
- 50:08I'm not, I'm not big bench guy.
- 50:10I don't,
- 50:10couldn't even tell you what my one rep
- 50:12max is.
- 50:12The last time I tested,
- 50:13it was two sixty five,
- 50:14which is the same as Alex.
- 50:15Um, that was several, several years ago,
- 50:21but I managed to hold on to all
- 50:23of them unbroken this morning.
- 50:26Some of them,
- 50:27once he got past the five,
- 50:28like I got into the round of five,
- 50:30it wasn't as bad,
- 50:32but like the set of town and get
- 50:34to nine.
- 50:38and kind of like fight through the ten.
- 50:39It was the same thing on the nine,
- 50:40same thing on the eight.
- 50:41Like the last one every single time was
- 50:43getting, wasn't getting me,
- 50:45but it was getting damn close.
- 50:47And then finally when I got down to
- 50:48five, I was like, okay,
- 50:49I can handle five.
- 50:50I can handle four.
- 50:50I can handle three.
- 50:52That wasn't terrible, but it was fun.
- 50:55It's the first time I've ever done any
- 50:57Linda, let alone because, I mean,
- 51:00it's not really practical to program in
- 51:01the gym.
- 51:03Three barbells is kind of difficult to do,
- 51:05but that was fun.
- 51:07That was good stuff.
- 51:09Well,
- 51:09the only thing I have left on my
- 51:10day is my daughter is flying in tonight.
- 51:12Oh yeah.
- 51:14From Montana for the Thanksgiving holiday.
- 51:17So I'm super stoked about that.
- 51:21And then next week,
- 51:23the schedule is going to get a little
- 51:24wonky.
- 51:24I don't know.
- 51:26I have ear,
- 51:27nose and throat final consultation on
- 51:29Monday.
- 51:31to determine surgery or no.
- 51:34And then I have pulmonologist on Tuesday,
- 51:37CAT scan of my voice box and final
- 51:39consultation immediately following to
- 51:42determine what we're going to do with
- 51:43that.
- 51:44And then I'll know where I'm going
- 51:47medically from that point forward.
- 51:49But both of those are going to mess
- 51:51up Monday and Tuesday.
- 51:53Wednesday,
- 51:54Micah Shoemaker is going to be on the
- 51:56show.
- 51:56Talking about the Pacific City semifinal,
- 52:00which is going to be a qualifier for
- 52:02the Masters athletes for the CrossFit
- 52:03Games.
- 52:05And then Thursday's Thanksgiving.
- 52:06I will be tuned in on Wednesday.
- 52:09I will be.
- 52:10Well,
- 52:10I might just have you on it because
- 52:11you may have questions that I just don't.
- 52:15And then Thursday's,
- 52:16I think we're probably going to skip
- 52:17Thursday's show.
- 52:22And then Friday is my father's ninetieth
- 52:24birthday.
- 52:25My father-in-law's ninetieth birthday.
- 52:28So next week's going to be wonky.
- 52:30So please be patient.
- 52:31I'll try to get out a schedule.
- 52:33I'm not sure when we'll be on the
- 52:35air, when we won't.
- 52:37But we'll try to figure it out.
- 52:38We'll definitely be here Sunday night for
- 52:41at least a quick show.
- 52:43And then I'll try to feed you the
- 52:45schedule for the rest of the week.
- 52:47But thank you to Thirdsy for presenting
- 52:49this.
- 52:51Time to get back to work,
- 52:52you knuckleheads.
- 52:52Code Jazzy.
- 52:54And we will see everybody next time on
- 52:57Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 53:00Peace.
